- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello big blue nation welcome to just the cats my
- 0:16Speaker 2: name is michael bennett on this friday october 2nd i
- 0:20Speaker 2: know it's uh it's been it's been a fairly fast
- 0:22Speaker 2: week but uh i'm looking forward to the weekend i'm
- 0:25Speaker 2: looking forward definitely to a ball game tomorrow but uh
- 0:27Speaker 2: If you'd like to give us a call, 502-384-1450. You
- 0:30Speaker 2: want to text us on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 0:32Speaker 2: you can do that at 502-414-1450. Or you can tweet
- 0:36Speaker 2: me at JustTheCatRadio. Justin Kalin is here with me on
- 0:39Speaker 2: this rainy, cloudy, little chilly. It feels like falls in
- 0:43Speaker 2: the air at this point, doesn't it? It does, but
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm maybe here, maybe I'm not. I don't know. I
- 0:49Speaker 2: can't really figure it out. Was that a childish comment?
- 0:55Speaker 2: I mean, Wisconsin guys calling me out. Childish comment. It's like,
- 0:59Speaker 2: come on, I was just joking. I mean, I'm in
- 1:03Speaker 2: a good mood, and I thought, well, I'm just going
- 1:04Speaker 2: to say maybe, maybe not. I thought it was kind
- 1:07Speaker 2: of funny. You took offense to it, and then you
- 1:09Speaker 2: come in here, and you start laughing at me.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I don't know if I took offense to it. Yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 1: it sounded like you did on the radio. I just
- 1:15Speaker 1: needed a straight answer, that's all. Okay, yes, I'm here.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I know now.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Isn't that boring? I mean, I'd like to live it
- 1:24Speaker 2: up a little, but no. Childish comments. That's funny you
- 1:29Speaker 2: brought that back up again. That does make me, all right,
- 1:32Speaker 2: I have a question for you, speaking of being childish. Okay. Yesterday,
- 1:35Speaker 2: I received a text message Saying, Michael, happy birthday. Hope
- 1:41Speaker 2: you enjoy your special day. Week early, but okay, thanks. Exactly.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So at that point, do you tell them that it's
- 1:49Speaker 2: not your birthday? Or do you tell them, oh, thank
- 1:53Speaker 2: you very much. I really appreciate you thinking of me.
- 1:56Speaker 2: What is your response?
- 1:58Speaker 1: My response would have been, when should I be looking
- 2:01Speaker 1: out for the gift?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Seriously? Yeah. Okay. All right, then.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I would have went somewhere down that route.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So you want the gift. It's all about Justin.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Or I would have said, is my check in the
- 2:12Speaker 1: mail or something along those lines.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Wow. Okay. Well, no, I'm not expecting money from these people. Well,
- 2:19Speaker 2: do you know who it was? Oh, very. No, no, no.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I'm a very, very close friend. Gotcha.
- 2:24Speaker 1: You were acting like you didn't know who it was.
- 2:26Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. I know her. I know her
- 2:29Speaker 2: very well and love her dearly. And so since it's
- 2:33Speaker 2: somebody I knew really well, do you answer them and say, hey,
- 2:39Speaker 2: it's not my birthday, or do you say thank you?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Maybe they're just in the mindset of since it's October,
- 2:45Speaker 1: it's technically your birthday because it's your birthday month.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not my birthday. And she was very
- 2:52Speaker 2: specific about I hope you enjoy your day.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I would have probably said something along the lines of,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I will, next Thursday.
- 3:00Speaker 2: There you go. And see, that's a great way to respond.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I said, thank you very much, but it's not my birthday.
- 3:08Speaker 2: To which she responded, when is your birthday? I just laughed.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I mean, it's sweet and very nice of her to
- 3:20Speaker 2: think of me. Was she 100? 100. No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 3:24Speaker 2: She's probably in her mid-60s. Okay.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I just didn't know if it was one of those
- 3:28Speaker 1: situations where maybe she's losing it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: No, I don't think so. But I just, I said, no,
- 3:34Speaker 2: thank you. And then she said, well, when's your birthday?
- 3:36Speaker 2: I said, it's October 8th. And she goes, oh, I'm so, well,
- 3:40Speaker 2: a week early. You know how I am. I love
- 3:41Speaker 2: being prompt. And it's like, okay, fine. I mean, she
- 3:44Speaker 2: played it off really well. But anyway, it makes me
- 3:47Speaker 2: feel good that she thought of me, but it does
- 3:49Speaker 2: make me feel bad she had the wrong day. I mean,
- 3:52Speaker 2: that's on her, though. You shouldn't feel bad about that. No,
- 3:54Speaker 2: I shouldn't, but it was very nice of her to
- 3:57Speaker 2: thank me, and I thought that was funny, and I
- 3:59Speaker 2: thought I'd bring it up today just to see, was
- 4:01Speaker 2: I being rude? Because after I sent it back, thank you,
- 4:04Speaker 2: it's not my birthday, I'm like, ugh, that didn't sound
- 4:08Speaker 2: real nice. That's the reason I... You're not a big texter. No,
- 4:11Speaker 2: I'm not. I'm just quick to the point. A lot
- 4:14Speaker 2: of times, I come across as kind of a curt,
- 4:18Speaker 2: and I don't mean to sound that way, but I
- 4:21Speaker 2: just don't have time for texting. You and Corey text me,
- 4:25Speaker 2: and it's fine, but it's just like, just call me.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But I get it. I get it. Y'all are of
- 4:32Speaker 2: the generation. Us kids. You only want to text. Yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you know, as the kids want to do. They use
- 4:37Speaker 2: all the abbreviations. I got to go figure out what
- 4:39Speaker 2: y'all are meaning. We had on Spears yesterday. I think
- 4:44Speaker 2: that was yesterday. Buzz texted us in a group text,
- 4:47Speaker 2: and you've met Buzz before. So he's in his 70s,
- 4:51Speaker 2: and he sends ROFL. Do you know what that means? ROFL.
- 4:59Speaker 1: If you don't know what this means, this story somehow
- 5:01Speaker 1: becomes funnier. Man, I have no idea what ROFL means.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So as soon as Buzz sent the text, it was
- 5:10Speaker 1: at the end of Spears, and John and Tony both
- 5:12Speaker 1: walk over here, and they're like, what is ROFL?
- 5:15Speaker 2: Rolling on the floor laughing. Ah, okay. I'm disappointed you
- 5:21Speaker 2: didn't know that. Sorry. Yeah, I've literally never had anybody
- 5:27Speaker 2: reply to me ROFL. Okay. All right, then. Now you know. Yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 2: I do. Because I remember the first time somebody texted
- 5:37Speaker 2: me YW. And I replied back to him, what is YW?
- 5:43Speaker 2: I had no idea. This is probably 15 years ago.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And the guy said, you're welcome. Now you made me
- 5:48Speaker 2: spell it out. That's an easy one. Yeah, it is now.
- 5:51Speaker 2: But there are abbreviations. I'm getting used to them. There
- 5:55Speaker 2: are times that I want to make sure. All right,
- 5:59Speaker 2: I'll tell you right now. There are times or people
- 6:02Speaker 2: that I will abbreviate to, like my boys. I will
- 6:05Speaker 2: abbreviate to them all the time. My buddies who are
- 6:08Speaker 2: a little older than me, I'll spell it out the
- 6:10Speaker 2: entire time. Yeah. Because I'm worried they won't know what
- 6:15Speaker 2: I'm talking about. Because I like to abbreviate. At this point,
- 6:18Speaker 2: as much as I loathe texting, I'll abbreviate stuff. Sure.
- 6:22Speaker 2: But no, I will spell it out for my buddies
- 6:27Speaker 2: that are on the up and up. So as far
- 6:30Speaker 2: as their age.
- 6:30Speaker 1: You know why those all became popular, I think?
- 6:33Speaker 2: Why, what, the abbreviations?
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it was probably because of the flip
- 6:37Speaker 1: phone days when you had to do the T9 texting,
- 6:39Speaker 1: remember that?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Where you have to hit, like, the number three times
- 6:43Speaker 1: to get down to C or whatever. I think that's
- 6:46Speaker 1: probably why we abbreviate the way we do now.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Huh.
- 6:50Speaker 1: That just made us lazy because we didn't want to
- 6:52Speaker 1: type it all out.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Huh. I'm convinced. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Nothing else to add. Well,
- 7:03Speaker 2: I got distracted. Sorry. I got a text, and I
- 7:06Speaker 2: guess like, oh, my goodness, man. I just got myself
- 7:09Speaker 2: in trouble. But anyway. Uh-oh. Yeah. Yeah. Uh-oh. Oh, yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I did. I got myself. Yeah. I know. I got
- 7:18Speaker 2: to answer this, and I'm so sorry. I just totally
- 7:20Speaker 2: got my. You're going to leave us in limbo? I know. Anyway. Okay.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I know. I, I, I, yeah, I, so, uh, I
- 7:32Speaker 2: just got, well, I shouldn't say YouTube. I know. I, I, exactly.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I am so in trouble. And, uh, uh, anyway, but no, I, uh, I,
- 7:42Speaker 2: I told, uh, uh, Antonio Fresu who, uh, won a
- 7:45Speaker 2: big race yesterday up at Belmont and said, I just
- 7:49Speaker 2: replied back to, Hey, great. Uh, you're my favorite jockey. And,
- 7:52Speaker 2: you know, I got a horse race. I hope you're
- 7:54Speaker 2: going to be up there. And, uh, uh, anyway, uh, Just,
- 7:58Speaker 2: oh my gosh. Yep. And now Buzz is ROFLing on
- 8:02Speaker 2: me right now. I think you are too. I did.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I mean, my, good Lord. I just, I'm in trouble
- 8:09Speaker 2: by a long shot. So anyway. Oh my gosh, man.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Now I'm going to be distracted for another two hours
- 8:16Speaker 2: so I can talk to him on the phone. It's like, frick.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I just said he's my favorite jock. I'm going to
- 8:22Speaker 2: be up there next week. I hope you're going to
- 8:23Speaker 2: be up there. So yeah. And now he's, Now he's
- 8:27Speaker 2: texting me like crazy. Life of Michael Bennett. Exactly. And
- 8:31Speaker 2: then Horacio says, interesting. Okay. I mean, it's just like,
- 8:34Speaker 2: what is this, Michael? And it says, your owner, Michael Bennett,
- 8:38Speaker 2: reached out to us for him to ride his horse
- 8:40Speaker 2: next week. And Horacio's like, what is this? It's like, oh,
- 8:44Speaker 2: my gosh, man. I get in trouble for just being
- 8:48Speaker 2: trying to be nice. And oh, well. But anyway, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 2: What a response. I know. I know. And I'm not
- 8:56Speaker 2: paying attention to anything you're saying. I am so distracted. Listen,
- 9:01Speaker 2: I know my face is red. I know my whole
- 9:04Speaker 2: body is red at this point. ROFL, okay? ROFL. I
- 9:09Speaker 2: would want to be knowing who ROFL is. I don't
- 9:12Speaker 2: know who ROFL is. There's no ROFL. Yeah. But, okay,
- 9:15Speaker 2: rolling on the floor. Do we need to break early
- 9:17Speaker 2: so you can get your bearings? No, no, no, no, no.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I'm good to go now. I mean, I don't know.
- 9:22Speaker 2: We probably should break and just say, hey, show's done
- 9:25Speaker 2: for today. Because I got nothing. I am just so
- 9:29Speaker 2: flabbergasted by what I just transpired here. It's like, okay,
- 9:33Speaker 2: I got good news. But anyway, just forget it. I
- 9:37Speaker 2: know how to screw up a two-car funeral. Okay? I
- 9:40Speaker 2: just want you to know that. I have screwed it up.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Is that a common phrase? Oh, my dad used to
- 9:46Speaker 2: say that all the time. I've never heard that. Oh, yeah.
- 9:48Speaker 2: He goes, that guy's always so late, he'd be late
- 9:51Speaker 2: for his own funeral. I've heard that. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 1: But I've never heard, I could screw up a two-car
- 9:56Speaker 1: oh absolutely that's great i like that yeah uh that
- 9:59Speaker 1: that's an i think that's an old comment i love
- 10:02Speaker 1: comments like that my dad my uncle lou always did
- 10:05Speaker 1: that kind of stuff and they would try and out
- 10:07Speaker 1: top each other i uh i learned a word yesterday
- 10:10Speaker 1: i'm curious if you know what it means okay in
- 10:13Speaker 1: regards to talking about movies if i describe a movie
- 10:18Speaker 1: as camping Do you know what that means?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Campy? Yeah. Would it mean outdoorsy? No. No, I have
- 10:27Speaker 2: no idea what camp, C-A-M-P-Y. Correct. A movie as being
- 10:33Speaker 2: described as campy. Yep. And what was the movie?
- 10:40Speaker 1: I don't remember which specific movie we were talking about,
- 10:42Speaker 1: but yeah, it was used on several occasions.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I have never heard a movie being described as campy.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So basically, it means it's campy when it's like over-exaggerated,
- 10:55Speaker 1: just over the top. What? Almost like so bad it's good. Oh,
- 11:00Speaker 1: there's numerous movies like that.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Exactly. Where does campy come from, though? That I don't know.
- 11:06Speaker 2: That makes zero sense because camp, to me, is pitching
- 11:08Speaker 2: a tent and being outside and outdoorsy. I don't get
- 11:13Speaker 2: being over the top being campy. Yeah, I mean, I
- 11:16Speaker 2: didn't say it. Did you look it up?
- 11:18Speaker 1: I didn't say I understood it, but, yeah, it was
- 11:20Speaker 1: used several times yesterday, and that's what it means.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Where? On Spears. They used it. John said it. They
- 11:27Speaker 2: used it?
- 11:27Speaker 1: Buzz said it. I think Tony even may have said
- 11:30Speaker 1: it at one point. So finally, I was like, what
- 11:32Speaker 1: the hell is campy mean?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Campy is an adjective that describes media behavior or style
- 11:37Speaker 2: that is absurdly exaggerated, artificial, or theatrical in a way
- 11:44Speaker 2: that is funny or self-aware. Wow. I've never heard of
- 11:50Speaker 2: that word. Campy. Yeah. Yeah, because I can name numerous
- 11:55Speaker 2: movies that are campy. Yeah, Napoleon Dynamite, I think, was campy. Borat. Borat, exactly.
- 12:03Speaker 2: You and I think way too much alike. You'll never
- 12:05Speaker 2: get this. Yeah, oh my gosh, exactly. But anyway, I
- 12:12Speaker 2: know exactly what you're talking about. He was going crazy
- 12:16Speaker 2: in his cage. But anyway, oh my gosh, man. That
- 12:20Speaker 2: movie is cringy. It is.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But it is funny. Same thing with Napoleon Dynamite.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it is. I can't do Napoleon Dynamite. Oh, I
- 12:27Speaker 2: love that movie. Oh, no. I do. And, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 2: every movie that pretty much Will Ferrell does, especially with
- 12:35Speaker 2: Mark Wahlberg, I think is so bad they're good. But anyway.
- 12:41Speaker 2: All right. We got to talk about it. At some point.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And we do. I know. I know. I think that's
- 12:48Speaker 2: why so many people click this show. Talk a little
- 12:50Speaker 2: horse racing. OK, I'm glad to hear that. So now
- 12:54Speaker 2: I found out that the to me, the big interesting
- 12:58Speaker 2: story of the day is not the UK South Carolina
- 13:00Speaker 2: football game. It's the whole thing about all of a
- 13:06Speaker 2: sudden there is a vacant. You know, we talked about
- 13:08Speaker 2: it briefly yesterday. And then yesterday after the show, UK
- 13:13Speaker 2: posted an open position for assistant coach at UK. And
- 13:19Speaker 2: I thought that's really interesting because I think the timing
- 13:23Speaker 2: is just odd. Season starts in a month. Yes. We
- 13:27Speaker 2: got big blue madness tonight. And the season starts, like
- 13:32Speaker 2: you just said, in a month. To me, that indicates
- 13:36Speaker 2: they already have somebody they want to hire. What do
- 13:39Speaker 2: you think?
- 13:39Speaker 1: They just had to go through the formality of putting
- 13:41Speaker 1: it up.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Correct. To be fair. Because it's going to be posted
- 13:44Speaker 2: only until next Wednesday, October 7th. Hmm. Does that make
- 13:51Speaker 2: any sense to you? Not really, no. No. So you
- 13:56Speaker 2: don't think it's because they have somebody in mind that
- 13:58Speaker 2: they want to hire? How would you explain it? That
- 14:03Speaker 2: would make the most sense. That would probably be the
- 14:05Speaker 2: explanation that I could buy the most. That's the one
- 14:08Speaker 2: I think the most as well. But who is it?
- 14:10Speaker 2: I mean, the description is to assist head coach in
- 14:14Speaker 2: administration of a Division I basketball program. Duties to include
- 14:18Speaker 2: assistant coaching, recruiting, basketball camps, academic and personnel support, and
- 14:25Speaker 2: all necessary administration work as assigned by head coach. I'm
- 14:29Speaker 2: about to apply. Are you really? Maybe they don't have
- 14:32Speaker 2: their guy. Maybe I can be. I don't know. But
- 14:34Speaker 2: part of me wants to think because the only every
- 14:40Speaker 2: assistant coach has a job at this point, don't they?
- 14:42Speaker 1: I would imagine so. I mean, I'm sure you can
- 14:45Speaker 1: probably go get somebody who's not. Working currently.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Well, the only person I can think of that's not
- 14:52Speaker 2: working currently is a coach that got dismissed by Texas
- 14:55Speaker 2: Tech last March. And it's a former UK coach or
- 14:59Speaker 2: UK player, John Pelfrey. Could it be John Pelfrey? He's
- 15:03Speaker 2: not coaching anywhere? No, he's not. He got fired by
- 15:06Speaker 2: Texas or Tennessee Tech last March.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I say you bring Tubby out of retirement. Give him
- 15:13Speaker 1: that spot.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Really? That'd be great. I don't think Tubby would do it, though. Probably.
- 15:17Speaker 2: as that's kind of, well, Ed Orgeron's doing it. He
- 15:21Speaker 2: was a head coach and he's assistant coach now of LSU,
- 15:24Speaker 2: which I find crazy. I think it's great. Exactly. I
- 15:27Speaker 2: think it's awesome. We're going to talk a little bit
- 15:29Speaker 2: about LSU in a little bit, but I just, I just,
- 15:33Speaker 2: the timing is off on this and it just seems strange.
- 15:36Speaker 2: And then when we saw the, the date is it's
- 15:39Speaker 2: only going to be posted until October 7th. Really to me,
- 15:45Speaker 2: indicates that UK has somebody. I would imagine.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And like you said, it's just a formality. That's the
- 15:51Speaker 1: only thing I can think of. They have to do
- 15:52Speaker 1: it for fairness, right? Like post the job.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah. That part of it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you have to.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Like anybody, any major company that's out there, they have
- 16:04Speaker 2: to post this. Even if they got their candidate. Even
- 16:06Speaker 2: if they know who it's going to be. Exactly. But
- 16:10Speaker 2: what if it happens where, oh, somebody comes up that
- 16:13Speaker 2: you didn't know? Would you interview that person as well?
- 16:18Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think you can be– even if
- 16:20Speaker 1: you have your guy, I don't think you can be
- 16:21Speaker 1: locked in. I mean, you got to keep your eyes open,
- 16:25Speaker 1: you know, and the possibilities could be endless, you know?
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. But anyway, I just– I thought that was interesting.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I thought, okay, now I wonder who it is. We
- 16:35Speaker 2: got Big Blue Madness tonight. They're not going to be
- 16:37Speaker 2: there for the introduction of him, and everybody else is
- 16:40Speaker 2: going to be there. So– that is weird it's just
- 16:43Speaker 2: it's just things are just kind of odd in the
- 16:46Speaker 2: basketball program i'm not saying in a negative way it's
- 16:49Speaker 2: just different i agree but something feels something feels something
- 16:55Speaker 2: yeah it does and i tell you what and more
- 16:57Speaker 2: people i talk to is like they all feel the
- 16:59Speaker 2: same way i mean you know you you were talking
- 17:01Speaker 2: about uh what what steven peak said last year just
- 17:04Speaker 2: the the fact that so many fans were there the
- 17:07Speaker 2: first year to watch the introductions and then It dropped
- 17:10Speaker 2: off the second year, and then this year it's just
- 17:11Speaker 2: been totally abysmal. So it's just kind of crazy. All right,
- 17:16Speaker 2: we're going to take our first break. 502-384-1450. You want
- 17:19Speaker 2: to call 502-414-1450. You want to text in. We'll get
- 17:23Speaker 2: your text as soon as we get back. Or you
- 17:24Speaker 2: can tweet me at Just the Cat Radio. I'm going
- 17:28Speaker 2: to make a phone call real quick. Probably a good idea. Yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 2: I need to. I mean, it's right in the middle.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Maybe it'll calm me down some, so I hope it does. Anyway,
- 17:35Speaker 2: this is Just the Cat. Yeah, if you saw me
- 17:37Speaker 2: on YouTube, boy, you caught me. Red-handed, okay? I'm hoping
- 17:41Speaker 2: the trainer's not watching on YouTube. Stay right there. This
- 17:44Speaker 2: is Jessica. You really got me going. You got me
- 18:13Speaker 2: so I don't know what I'm doing. Yeah, you really
- 18:18Speaker 2: got me now. You got me so I can't sleep
- 18:21Speaker 2: at night. Yeah, you really got me now. You got
- 18:27Speaker 2: me so I don't... And you're going old school today.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Got some kinks playing there. This was not planned. Oh,
- 18:34Speaker 2: it wasn't? How did it happen then?
- 18:36Speaker 1: This was a direct result of you telling me during
- 18:39Speaker 1: that break that that really got you going.
- 18:41Speaker 2: And I was like, you know what? Well done. We're
- 18:44Speaker 2: going to go with some kinks today. Well done right there. See,
- 18:48Speaker 2: I love it when you do something like that. You
- 18:50Speaker 2: call an audible and you play music that's pertinent to
- 18:54Speaker 2: the topics that we have right now. But, yeah. Whoo. I, uh, man,
- 18:59Speaker 2: I tell you what I am so worked up. It's
- 19:01Speaker 2: not even funny. Uh, let's get to the, uh, whiskey thief, uh,
- 19:04Speaker 2: text line 502-414-1450. Uh, Jamie said, good morning guys. Scooch.
- 19:09Speaker 2: You can buy the Papa John's garlic sauce at the store.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Now I got some at Walmart about a month ago. Oh,
- 19:16Speaker 2: that's huge. Jamie. Thank you. Holy smokes, I had no idea. What, what, what?
- 19:22Speaker 2: The garlic sauce. You mean the garlic butter sauce? Yeah,
- 19:24Speaker 2: that comes with the pizza. Oh, that can't be healthy. Oh,
- 19:27Speaker 2: it's not healthy, but it's so good. See, I was
- 19:30Speaker 2: happy when they came out in the store with the
- 19:33Speaker 2: Taco Bell sauce. Yeah, that's clutch. I get that a lot. Oh,
- 19:36Speaker 2: I love that stuff.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I also get, I'm a big fan of the Buffalo
- 19:40Speaker 1: Wild Wing sauces. I'll buy those in the store as well.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Throw on some chicken.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, good stuff. Okay, good.
- 19:46Speaker 1: But I didn't know you could buy the garlic sauce.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Okay, there you go. All right, Buzz texted in I-Y-K-Y-K.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Do you know that one? Yeah, if you know, you know.
- 19:58Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah. Atta boy. Okay, good. Yeah. Buzz, text
- 20:02Speaker 2: me all you want. Listen, I'm a man of the kids, okay?
- 20:05Speaker 2: I just want you to know I'm one of the
- 20:07Speaker 2: kids as well. Even though I don't look like a
- 20:10Speaker 2: kid anymore. Yeah. Anyway, something was proved at a restaurant
- 20:15Speaker 2: last night. The hostess was really cute. And I've always
- 20:21Speaker 2: said that, you know, you get to a certain age,
- 20:23Speaker 2: you're invisible to, you know, a certain age of young ladies.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I was totally invisible to her yesterday. Not her type. No, no,
- 20:30Speaker 2: not her type. It's just, well, yeah, yeah. Not daddy type, so.
- 20:35Speaker 2: 148 Hanley says, speaking of funerals, back in the day
- 20:39Speaker 2: when a funeral procession was taking place, other drivers would
- 20:42Speaker 2: pull over and get out of the car to stand
- 20:45Speaker 2: and show their respect. Heartwarming. I didn't know that. That's fun.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I knew people, because I do. I still do. When
- 20:53Speaker 2: I see a funeral procession coming, if I can. Now,
- 20:56Speaker 2: if I'm in a left lane trying to turn left
- 20:58Speaker 2: on a road, I can't. I just can't get out
- 21:00Speaker 2: of that lane and go way over to the side
- 21:02Speaker 2: of the road and pull over. But if I'm on
- 21:04Speaker 2: a road... Uh, and here comes a funeral procession. I
- 21:07Speaker 2: do pull off. Yeah. And let them come. That's the right.
- 21:10Speaker 2: You do the same. I didn't know people actually physically
- 21:13Speaker 2: got out of the car. That's pretty cool. And stood.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I mean, my goodness. That is heartwarming. Yeah. Those things
- 21:19Speaker 2: where you see, um, The people standing on the side
- 21:23Speaker 2: of the road. I think the one that always stuck
- 21:25Speaker 2: out to me was that movie that was made a
- 21:29Speaker 2: few years back. Clint Eastwood directed it. It was about
- 21:34Speaker 2: the guy that went over to Afghanistan like three or
- 21:37Speaker 2: four times, and then he came back, and then unfortunately
- 21:41Speaker 2: he was trying to help other vets come out of
- 21:45Speaker 2: the military and live a normal life, and unfortunately one
- 21:48Speaker 2: had PTSD. Not familiar. Oh, you haven't? Brad, what was
- 21:53Speaker 2: his name? It's a great movie. And so during his funeral,
- 21:57Speaker 2: it was down in Texas, people were standing on bridges
- 22:02Speaker 2: as the funeral procession was coming on the expressway. And
- 22:06Speaker 2: had American flags. I wish I could remember. It was
- 22:09Speaker 2: a great, great movie. But people were just standing out
- 22:13Speaker 2: there and respecting him. So, anyway. Oh, I'll tell you what.
- 22:18Speaker 2: When I was flying back from. It wasn't American Sniper,
- 22:21Speaker 2: was it? That's it. American Sniper. Yeah. I was thinking
- 22:24Speaker 2: that scene sounded familiar. Yeah, yeah. And that was the
- 22:27Speaker 2: end of the movie.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I don't remember Clint Eastwood being in it.
- 22:30Speaker 2: No, he wasn't in it. He directed it. Gotcha. Yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 2: who was the guy, Brad? Bradley Cooper. Bradley Cooper. I
- 22:36Speaker 2: got told I look like him once. No big deal. Oh,
- 22:39Speaker 2: come on. I don't see it. Somebody told me that once. Wow. Okay.
- 22:44Speaker 2: All right, that's a wild comment. Yeah, you look exactly
- 22:49Speaker 2: like him, by the way. Now I've been messed up
- 22:53Speaker 2: again with that comment. My gosh. Okay. I'm not saying
- 22:57Speaker 2: anything else. I'm done. One person texted, the rumor for
- 23:02Speaker 2: next UK assistant is Roffer Alston, father of Reece Alston,
- 23:06Speaker 2: who is a point guard recruit that just visited. Yes.
- 23:10Speaker 2: I have heard that as well. Okay. that makes more
- 23:13Speaker 2: sense because that's how you get a recruit to recruit,
- 23:16Speaker 2: to commit to your school, hire their dad. Sorry. You
- 23:18Speaker 2: got Mo Williams. Yeah. You got, so do you like
- 23:21Speaker 2: the fact if Mark Pope brings in two dads of
- 23:25Speaker 2: players that I'm a little concerned about that? I mean,
- 23:32Speaker 2: one dad is, is fine. And I think that was
- 23:35Speaker 2: a really good hire by the way. I think, I
- 23:37Speaker 2: think it was more bringing the dad in the sun,
- 23:39Speaker 2: but doing this for the second time, Don't you think
- 23:42Speaker 2: that's a little concerning? Not if their dads can coach. Okay.
- 23:48Speaker 2: All right.
- 23:48Speaker 1: If you do what you got to do to get players, right?
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I understand.
- 23:53Speaker 1: You can't drop a bag anymore because everybody's getting a bag.
- 23:56Speaker 1: So what's the next best thing? Hire a family member.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Oh, did I miss a text? Okay. I did. I'm sorry.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Buzz texted in. My response would be thank you for
- 24:04Speaker 2: being the first to wish me happy birthday. Every day
- 24:07Speaker 2: is special. When I do celebrate, I will think of
- 24:11Speaker 2: your kind greeting. That sounds nothing like Michael Bennett. I
- 24:17Speaker 2: will copy that and respond every time. But does that
- 24:21Speaker 2: sound like me? I mean, a little bit. It does?
- 24:25Speaker 2: A little bit, yeah. Really?
- 24:26Speaker 1: I can see you telling somebody every day is special,
- 24:29Speaker 1: and when I do celebrate, I'll think of your kind grief.
- 24:31Speaker 2: You can hear me saying that? Absolutely. Yeah. Okay. To me,
- 24:35Speaker 2: I just like, you jackass. This is not my birthday.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Just remember what my birthday is and then happy birthday
- 24:40Speaker 2: on that day. That's the way I want to respond,
- 24:43Speaker 2: but that's okay. I'll do my best. Thank you, Buzz.
- 24:46Speaker 2: I will do that. So local John texted in. John,
- 24:51Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Hey, Michael, they might not say it tonight
- 24:55Speaker 2: at Big Blue Madness because they have the job posting
- 24:58Speaker 2: up to the date you mentioned. However, do you think
- 25:02Speaker 2: the person is going to be in the gym tonight?
- 25:06Speaker 2: Would they just be in the crowd? That's an interesting question.
- 25:12Speaker 2: What if he is in there or she? What if
- 25:15Speaker 2: they are in there and they don't acknowledge him and
- 25:19Speaker 2: they're just kind of taking it in and then they decide, yeah,
- 25:22Speaker 2: this is not for me. There's no way that would happen. No. Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I don't think they would be there. But maybe that, John,
- 25:30Speaker 2: I think that's a great comment. By the way, who's
- 25:32Speaker 2: going to be the special guest tonight? You know, we
- 25:35Speaker 2: tried to guess it a couple of weeks ago. Who
- 25:37Speaker 2: do you think it's going to be? Do you think
- 25:39Speaker 2: they will have a special guest tonight? Who was my
- 25:42Speaker 2: answer a couple of weeks ago? I don't remember. I
- 25:44Speaker 2: think I said Reed. I said DeMarcus Cousins. You said
- 25:48Speaker 2: Reed Shepard. That's right. Because you said it'd be fun
- 25:51Speaker 2: if the entire family showed up. Yeah. Which I think
- 25:53Speaker 2: would be great. And of course, you know, Jeff was
- 25:57Speaker 2: Mark Pope's teammate. So that would make kind of sense.
- 26:00Speaker 2: It's just a matter of whether he can make it
- 26:02Speaker 2: or not since they got basketball going on right now
- 26:04Speaker 2: with the Rockets. Do they? They're not playing yet, right?
- 26:07Speaker 2: They're not playing, but they're practicing. True.
- 26:09Speaker 1: But he's a millionaire. No problem for him to get
- 26:13Speaker 1: from Houston to Lexington.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Oh, you think so? Yeah. Okay. They don't play tonight. No,
- 26:18Speaker 2: they don't play tonight. You're right. Okay, well, that would
- 26:21Speaker 2: be an interesting one if they decide to have him
- 26:25Speaker 2: come up. You know, the other ones we were talking
- 26:27Speaker 2: about was Shea Gilgis. Tyrese Maxey would be a good one. Yeah,
- 26:34Speaker 2: Maxey would be great. Karl-Anthony Towns. But I was just,
- 26:38Speaker 2: the reason I said DeMarcus Cousins, because last year they had,
- 26:41Speaker 2: wasn't last year John Wall? Yeah, last year was John Wall.
- 26:44Speaker 2: So I thought, well, if you, yeah. It feels like
- 26:47Speaker 2: so much longer. I know. I know. It does feel
- 26:50Speaker 2: like it was a lot longer. I don't know why
- 26:52Speaker 2: I keep looking at a blank screen of the computer.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I'm so used to looking at you in the computer screen,
- 26:58Speaker 2: and you're not. I guess I should just look at
- 26:59Speaker 2: the camera. Anyway, do we have anybody on YouTube watching? Yeah. Oh,
- 27:04Speaker 2: we do? Yeah. One. I'll see. Okay. It's okay. You
- 27:08Speaker 2: don't have to look. You can read John's next text. Oh,
- 27:10Speaker 2: I can't? John has another text? Yeah, you got to
- 27:12Speaker 2: do a better job of looking up. Evidently, I am.
- 27:14Speaker 2: You're struggling. Michael, they may not say it. Is that
- 27:19Speaker 2: the other one? I just read that one, didn't I?
- 27:21Speaker 2: There's one above the one. Oh, Michael, this will be
- 27:23Speaker 2: a good weekend for our cats. Should get this victory
- 27:27Speaker 2: and move up in the rankings for sure. Hey, good
- 27:30Speaker 2: luck to your Rays, but not too much. much luck
- 27:33Speaker 2: because I want my Yankees to win, and I believe
- 27:35Speaker 2: they will. Hey, let's just have a good series. I
- 27:38Speaker 2: don't want a good series. I want to blow out, okay?
- 27:41Speaker 2: I want it to be done in three games. By
- 27:42Speaker 2: the way, I'm going to be gone next week, okay?
- 27:46Speaker 2: I'll be on the radio. So the guy that complained
- 27:50Speaker 2: last week that, Michael, we rely on listening, which I
- 27:53Speaker 2: very much appreciate that text. I've got to go up
- 27:56Speaker 2: to New York. I possibly have one of my horses
- 27:59Speaker 2: racing at Belmont next week, which I mentioned in the
- 28:02Speaker 2: first segment. But also, I'm going to go see the
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yankees and the Rays play next Wednesday night. That's going
- 28:07Speaker 2: to be awesome. That, to me, is a bucket list
- 28:09Speaker 2: right there. For sure. You know, I've always wanted to
- 28:12Speaker 2: see the Green Bay Packers play in a snowfall, a
- 28:16Speaker 2: complete blizzard. I think Buffalo would be another place, but
- 28:20Speaker 2: it's not the original stadium. So, I think the Packers
- 28:23Speaker 2: would be number one. Yankees in a playoff or World
- 28:28Speaker 2: Series is number two. Especially against your team. Yeah, exactly.
- 28:32Speaker 2: It's awesome. Yeah, yeah. But we'll see how it goes.
- 28:36Speaker 2: That's another thing. Now, what am I more nervous about?
- 28:39Speaker 2: I'm more nervous about the UK-South Carolina game. Are you really? Yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 2: I am. I am so nervous about that it's not
- 28:46Speaker 2: even funny. So I don't know. I don't know how
- 28:51Speaker 2: to feel about this game at all. Of course, we
- 28:54Speaker 2: have a lot to talk about with this game. And
- 28:58Speaker 2: kickoff is at 415, which is a weird time, by
- 29:01Speaker 2: the way. It is. I'm kind of glad because that
- 29:04Speaker 2: is not a night game. I think if it was
- 29:06Speaker 2: a night game, I'd be even more nervous. Because nighttime,
- 29:10Speaker 2: South Carolina, they play like a completely different team. Who
- 29:14Speaker 2: has more pressure on this game? Will Stein to continue
- 29:18Speaker 2: the excitement with UK football or Shane Beamer to try
- 29:23Speaker 2: and take the bag wearers tomorrow off his back and
- 29:28Speaker 2: get back into the winning ways with the Gamecock Nation?
- 29:31Speaker 1: I think that's easy. I mean, to me, it's Shane Beamer.
- 29:35Speaker 2: No question. It is? Yeah. Yeah. Because the one thing
- 29:39Speaker 2: that Kentucky has as far as its advantage is the
- 29:44Speaker 2: offensive line. I understand that one of the things that
- 29:50Speaker 2: South Carolina prides themselves in, especially this year, is their
- 29:54Speaker 2: run game as far as defending the running game. So
- 29:57Speaker 2: their defensive line plays has been stellar, somewhat. But with
- 30:04Speaker 2: the one kid that's not playing Stewart, is it Dylan
- 30:07Speaker 2: Stewart in his name? I think that changes the dynamic
- 30:11Speaker 2: of that game. So I fully expect UK to come
- 30:15Speaker 2: out there running the ball more than we think they will. Now, granted,
- 30:21Speaker 2: I think there'll still be a lot of passing game,
- 30:23Speaker 2: but I think one of the biggest keys is going
- 30:27Speaker 2: to be ball security. And efficiency of Kenny Minchie. Because,
- 30:33Speaker 2: you know, he's been exceptionally careful with the football this year.
- 30:36Speaker 2: He has. And done just a phenomenal job. Do you
- 30:41Speaker 2: realize he's only thrown one interception this year? That seems
- 30:45Speaker 2: like it checks out. It does? I was kind of
- 30:47Speaker 2: surprised by that. I mean, it was a really, really
- 30:48Speaker 2: bad one. Yeah. But. Yeah, I mean, I don't remember
- 30:52Speaker 2: making any other mistakes, really. I think Jason Patterson has
- 30:55Speaker 2: to have a big game running the ball. All the
- 30:57Speaker 2: running backs have to be good. Yeah, they do. That's
- 31:00Speaker 2: my opinion of the game.
- 31:01Speaker 1: If Kentucky's able to run the ball effectively, which they
- 31:04Speaker 1: should be able to, that's going to make the passing
- 31:06Speaker 1: game so much easier, and that's going to take a
- 31:08Speaker 1: lot of pressure off of Minchie and not have him
- 31:11Speaker 1: wanting to go out there and try to force things,
- 31:14Speaker 1: which will keep the ball in your all's possession, hopefully.
- 31:17Speaker 2: South Carolina leads the conference in the run game. they
- 31:21Speaker 2: have the best rushing attack in the SEC, averaging a
- 31:24Speaker 2: massive 262 yards per game on the ground. And they
- 31:29Speaker 2: got a running back named Matt Fuller, who sits fourth
- 31:32Speaker 2: in the conference with 384 rushing yards. That doesn't make
- 31:38Speaker 2: you nervous. It does me. Well, I'm trying to look
- 31:41Speaker 2: up how....
- 31:43Speaker 1: Kentucky's done in past weeks. So you allowed 88 yards
- 31:45Speaker 1: for South Alabama, which that makes sense. But then that
- 31:48Speaker 1: game at Texas A & M, you allowed them to
- 31:50Speaker 1: rush for 187.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Bama rushed for 155. So you have shown that you're
- 31:56Speaker 1: maybe a little susceptible to allowing big running games. attempts
- 31:59Speaker 1: so not good maybe water will find its level a
- 32:02Speaker 1: little bit in that regard as far as the the
- 32:06Speaker 1: numbers the part that does make me feel good it's
- 32:08Speaker 1: like okay it's it's south carolina's time to win they've
- 32:11Speaker 1: won four in a row right now so they're on
- 32:13Speaker 1: a streak can they win five in a row i'm
- 32:16Speaker 1: gonna say no from that standpoint that's hard to do
- 32:19Speaker 1: especially in the sec so i i um Special teams
- 32:27Speaker 1: is a difference with South Carolina. They've got that defensive back,
- 32:31Speaker 1: Bakari Swain, who has returned two punts for touchdown this season.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Wow. And Kentucky has notably struggled containing punt returns. So,
- 32:43Speaker 2: it's going to– I just– again, I don't know how
- 32:47Speaker 2: I feel. I really don't. But– I feel the same
- 32:51Speaker 2: I felt always. You are that confident that UK is
- 32:55Speaker 2: going to win this game. I am, yeah. Man, I'm
- 32:57Speaker 2: glad you do. Because I need that. Because that- I know,
- 33:01Speaker 2: that's exactly right. But- Well, because both of us picked
- 33:05Speaker 2: Texas A & M to just beat UK, and we
- 33:08Speaker 2: both screwed up with that one. I kind of go
- 33:12Speaker 2: both ways. I can see South Carolina winning this game,
- 33:15Speaker 2: but again, I still believe, and I believe this wholeheartedly,
- 33:18Speaker 2: I believe UK should win this game. Does that make sense? Absolutely.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I mean, look, we talked about who's got the more
- 33:25Speaker 1: pressure between Beamer and Stein. Stein's at the point now,
- 33:28Speaker 1: at this season, at 3-1, he's And I don't really
- 33:32Speaker 1: much care for this term that I'm about to throw out,
- 33:35Speaker 1: but he's playing with house money at this point.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Will Stein. Yeah. Absolutely.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I mean, just go out there, coach free, have your
- 33:42Speaker 1: team play free. At the end of the day, it's
- 33:45Speaker 1: just a game. You're playing a game of football.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Don't overcomplicate it. Just go out there and play.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be fun. You should take care of it.
- 33:53Speaker 2: That would be fun, and I hope they do. We'll
- 33:57Speaker 2: do our predictions at the end of the show, but, man,
- 33:59Speaker 2: that would feel good if UK got out there and
- 34:02Speaker 2: scored immediately. I think that would take the monkey off
- 34:05Speaker 2: the back right there. For sure. Knowing that the offense
- 34:08Speaker 2: is moving, that gives a little added boost for the defense.
- 34:13Speaker 2: And so I probably worry about the defense more than
- 34:17Speaker 2: I worry about the offense with this game. And I
- 34:20Speaker 2: probably worry more about, even more so, the unknowns, the intangibles.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Because that crowd is going to be into it. Now
- 34:28Speaker 2: Kentucky has gone down there and beaten that crowd. They
- 34:31Speaker 2: did it at Texas A & M. Can they do
- 34:34Speaker 2: it again? So we've got to take another break. If
- 34:35Speaker 2: you want to join 502-384-1450, you want to text on
- 34:39Speaker 2: the Whiskey Thief text line 502-414-1450. So stay right there.
- 34:43Speaker 2: We've got more Just Guys coming right up. I said the.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Nation army couldn't hold me back.
- 35:21Speaker 2: They're going to rip it off.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Taking their time right behind my back.
- 35:29Speaker 2: And I'm talking.
- 35:30Speaker 1: To myself at night because I can't forget.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Is this probably the most popular stadium anthem heard at
- 35:41Speaker 2: a football game? What do you think is the, if not,
- 35:45Speaker 2: what do you think is the most popular? It's a
- 35:49Speaker 2: great question. Yeah, I love, I'll be proud of myself
- 35:53Speaker 2: right now. I think it's a good question too. I'd
- 35:55Speaker 2: like to know.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I would probably put all I do is win in
- 36:01Speaker 1: over this, especially after a game when the team is
- 36:04Speaker 1: just one and they fire that up and everybody's going crazy.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Really?
- 36:07Speaker 1: Or maybe even, I think you could make the argument
- 36:10Speaker 1: for Don't Stop Believin' as well, as overplayed as that is.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that one's overplayed.
- 36:15Speaker 1: But, I mean, anytime they fire that up in a stadium,
- 36:18Speaker 1: everybody's singing it.
- 36:19Speaker 2: That, I think, as far as entry, I do not
- 36:25Speaker 2: like Sandman that they play. You're crazy. No, no, no.
- 36:30Speaker 2: At the South Carolina game, you like that Sandman one?
- 36:33Speaker 2: That's not South Carolina. Isn't it Virginia Tech? I'm not
- 36:38Speaker 2: talking Enter Sandman by Metallica. I'm talking about that one
- 36:45Speaker 2: digital one that they play. I don't know what you mean. Okay.
- 36:49Speaker 2: It's like a tech song. I thought it was called Sandman,
- 36:53Speaker 2: but I might be wrong. Whatever South Carolina plays that
- 36:59Speaker 2: has no words to it. It's just electronic. Look it
- 37:03Speaker 2: up real quick. South Carolina... Entry music or whatever you'd
- 37:07Speaker 2: call it. But it's terrible. I can't stand that. But
- 37:12Speaker 2: there is a name for it. I thought it was sand,
- 37:14Speaker 2: but I could be wrong. Sandstorm. Sandstorm. That's it. Thank you. Yeah. Yes,
- 37:20Speaker 2: I can't stand it. They play that. I think that's
- 37:24Speaker 2: the worst. I would take Journey over that one. I
- 37:28Speaker 2: don't like that one either. So Purdue uses that for
- 37:30Speaker 2: their basketball games. Oh, they do.
- 37:32Speaker 1: And their dweeby students have this stupid dance that they
- 37:35Speaker 1: do with it.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Oh, it's so dumb. Well, see, I love the one
- 37:38Speaker 2: Seven Nation Army. Because, you know, the whole crowd's going, do, do, do, do, do, do.
- 37:44Speaker 2: And I love that. It is a good one. But
- 37:47Speaker 2: UofL used to use Inter Sandman, too, by Metallica, like
- 37:50Speaker 2: Virginia Tech.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Now their big one is Joker and the Thief, which
- 37:53Speaker 1: I freaking love.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I don't know Joker and the Thief. Oh, yeah, you do.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I do? Okay. Yeah, I know. Well, we'll hear that
- 38:00Speaker 2: one in just a few minutes, I bet. But, no, I...
- 38:03Speaker 2: I would have to say, to me, it's Seven Nation Army.
- 38:08Speaker 2: It's my favorite. And maybe Enter Sandman is right after that.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Because that's a great, that's probably my favorite Metallica song.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I mean, it's up there for me. It is? I
- 38:20Speaker 2: like it. What does Indiana come out to?
- 38:21Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think they have an actual song
- 38:26Speaker 1: that they run out to. I think it's just the
- 38:28Speaker 1: school fight song. But their big one, especially the last
- 38:31Speaker 1: couple of years, has been Hurt So Good.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:34Speaker 1: You had John Mellencamp at the game the other day.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Oh.
- 38:37Speaker 1: So he was standing down there in the field while
- 38:39Speaker 1: I was playing and everybody was singing. That was actually
- 38:41Speaker 1: pretty cool. Which song was it? Hurt So Good.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:45Speaker 1: See, I like that. That would be cool to have
- 38:47Speaker 1: John Mellencamp there. Here's the Joker in the theater because
- 38:51Speaker 1: I'm not playing.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, that song slaps. Yeah.
- 39:01Speaker 2: I know that song. Love that one. You do love
- 39:02Speaker 2: that one. Yeah, it's a good one. I get it.
- 39:05Speaker 2: By the way, we didn't talk about the Gamecocks quarterback,
- 39:08Speaker 2: Lenora Sellers. Yeah. Really? Meaning what? He's terrible. Just not
- 39:14Speaker 2: a big Sellers guy. Yeah, I get it. He's a
- 39:17Speaker 2: dual threat quarterback. That just really hasn't been that great
- 39:19Speaker 2: of a dual threat, has he? Yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Not this year, anyway. I mean, in years past, he
- 39:24Speaker 1: was a lot better than he's been this year. But, yeah,
- 39:27Speaker 1: this year's he struggled.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Yeah yeah one person texted in it's called sandstorm so
- 39:32Speaker 2: thank you very much I appreciate you letting me know
- 39:34Speaker 2: yeah I couldn't think of it I just could not
- 39:37Speaker 2: think of a sandstorm I knew it was saying something
- 39:39Speaker 2: but uh by the way UK offensive lineman have you
- 39:41Speaker 2: seen this Lance Hurd is now a first-round pick in
- 39:47Speaker 2: the mock draft. Wow. How do you like that? I mean,
- 39:51Speaker 2: that's gone from Alabama game where it's like, okay, this
- 39:56Speaker 2: team looks exhausted. I hope they can last the entire season,
- 39:59Speaker 2: to now you got players being in the mock draft
- 40:01Speaker 2: in the first round. And they have him going to
- 40:04Speaker 2: the Bengals on top of it all. Oh, you would
- 40:06Speaker 2: love that. Oh, you daggone right I would love it.
- 40:08Speaker 2: I think all the UK fans would love it. They're
- 40:10Speaker 2: going now up to the Bengal, getting season tickets, going
- 40:13Speaker 2: to watch that. Are you kidding? That's awesome.
- 40:15Speaker 1: There are a lot of Bengals Cats fans.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Yes. Well, doesn't it make sense, though? I mean, the
- 40:20Speaker 2: closest team to Lexington, Eastern Kentucky, Central Kentucky, Cincinnati.
- 40:26Speaker 1: It's not Titans. It's not Indianapolis. I thought you were
- 40:28Speaker 1: going with the Big Cats. Going with the big white.
- 40:31Speaker 1: And if you're going to be a fan of the Wildcats,
- 40:32Speaker 1: you might as well be a fan of the Bengals.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Exactly. Bring all the cats in. I couldn't agree more.
- 40:38Speaker 2: It's just a shame that their colors are orange and black.
- 40:41Speaker 2: I mean, I wish it was something else, but it's okay.
- 40:44Speaker 2: They rock the white and black sometimes. Yeah. Those jerseys
- 40:47Speaker 2: are so sick, by the way. I love those. Yeah,
- 40:49Speaker 2: that's my favorite Bengal jersey, by the way. And when
- 40:52Speaker 2: they switched over back in the, I think it was
- 40:54Speaker 2: the 80s. From the boring just bingles on the side
- 40:57Speaker 2: of the helmet to the stripes, the tiger stripes. Oh, phenomenal.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I just, I love them. They are some good looking jerseys.
- 41:03Speaker 2: And the white ones that they wear with the black
- 41:05Speaker 2: is just awesome. So, yeah, you're right about that. No,
- 41:08Speaker 2: but you know, Louisville, it's closer to Cincinnati than it
- 41:11Speaker 2: is Indianapolis. Yet we're forced to watch Colts game. Colts
- 41:15Speaker 2: are the stinking.
- 41:16Speaker 1: How long does it take to get to Cincinnati?
- 41:20Speaker 2: For me, about an hour and a half. Oh, okay.
- 41:21Speaker 2: And yeah, it would. Yeah. The distance, the mileage is short, too.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I mean, Indy's about two, maybe even less, depending on
- 41:28Speaker 1: how you drive.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Yeah. It's a boring drive, by the way. Oh, it's
- 41:32Speaker 2: so boring. Yeah, it's so flat. It is amazing how
- 41:35Speaker 2: you cross the river, and it's just so flat over there.
- 41:38Speaker 2: And yet you're over here, and it's kind of hilly,
- 41:40Speaker 2: and it's kind of nice. But anyway, I just thought, anyway,
- 41:46Speaker 2: all right, we'll leave it at that. One person texted in,
- 41:48Speaker 2: Rafa Alston had an 11-year NBA career and has ties
- 41:52Speaker 2: to AAU, so definitely will help in recruiting. I agree.
- 41:58Speaker 2: I mean, they've been talking about Alston joining UK for
- 42:01Speaker 2: a little while now, and I hope it does happen.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I just, I don't want it to get to where,
- 42:07Speaker 2: can these gentlemen separate that they have a dad on
- 42:10Speaker 2: the team to being the coach on the team? So
- 42:15Speaker 2: having two dads on there, one is fine, like I said,
- 42:18Speaker 2: but two on there is a little concerning.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Aren't the odds, though, that they've played for their dads
- 42:25Speaker 1: for a good chunk of their young career?
- 42:27Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, absolutely. So I don't think that would be it.
- 42:30Speaker 2: You don't? Now, if they're.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Getting favoritism from those coaches because they're their sons, maybe
- 42:36Speaker 1: that'll become an issue with the rest of the guys
- 42:38Speaker 1: on the team, but I don't see that happening.
- 42:39Speaker 2: All right, so how hard was it for John Calipari
- 42:43Speaker 2: not to play Brad Calipari?
- 42:45Speaker 1: Not hard at all because Brad sucked. Yes, but it's
- 42:48Speaker 1: got to.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Be hard on him that you got your son on
- 42:52Speaker 2: your team and he can't play at all.
- 42:54Speaker 1: I mean, Brad's probably wanted to coach for... from a
- 42:57Speaker 1: very young age. So he did it for the coaching
- 43:00Speaker 1: aspect of it.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I would imagine.
- 43:01Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure he enjoyed playing basketball and being
- 43:05Speaker 1: the human victory cigar, but yeah, I'm sure he just
- 43:07Speaker 1: wanted to be there with Pops to learn from him.
- 43:10Speaker 2: I mean, Eddie Sutton would be another example. Eddie Sutton
- 43:13Speaker 2: had his son on the team. Tubby Smith, we were
- 43:16Speaker 2: just talking about Tubby. Tubby had, and of course, got all,
- 43:19Speaker 2: between Sutton and Tubby Smith, man, they went through the
- 43:26Speaker 2: ringer as far as fans criticizing that their sons were playing.
- 43:30Speaker 2: And that had to be really difficult. I mean, did
- 43:34Speaker 2: I ask that question when Tubby was on here? I
- 43:37Speaker 2: can't remember either if I did or not.
- 43:38Speaker 1: By the way, any idea where Saul Smith is?
- 43:41Speaker 2: Saul? Yeah. I don't know where Saul Smith is. Is
- 43:44Speaker 2: he in Lexington?
- 43:44Speaker 1: He is an assistant with the Memphis Tigers.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Oh, really? Yeah. Huh. Well, good for him. Right? Yeah.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Saul has been on this show before. Nice guy. I
- 43:56Speaker 2: always liked Saul. But, boy, he just got ridiculed. It's
- 44:00Speaker 2: a wild name. Saul? Saul. You don't think Tubby? I
- 44:04Speaker 2: know Tubby's a nickname, but you don't think that?
- 44:06Speaker 1: When I was growing up, I always thought his name
- 44:08Speaker 1: was Saul. Like S-A-W? Because that's how my dad would
- 44:12Speaker 1: say it.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Oh, Saul Smith.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Then I realized how it was actually spelled, and I
- 44:16Speaker 1: was like, I'm so far off.
- 44:18Speaker 2: I say Saul. You don't hear me say it in
- 44:21Speaker 2: the L. Saul? Come on. Nobody says Saul. They say Saul.
- 44:28Speaker 2: And there's no emphasis on the L. I see Saul.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Come on, man. All right, Justa. I'm just going to
- 44:35Speaker 2: call you Justy. Whatever works for you, man. Okay, yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 2: I'm not going to do that. That just sounds so dumb.
- 44:41Speaker 2: But all right, then. Well, I... It's going to be
- 44:46Speaker 2: a fun night tonight, a fun weekend. Of course, tonight,
- 44:49Speaker 2: you know, you've got Big Blue Madness, tomorrow the ball game,
- 44:54Speaker 2: which is away, but then you've got the open practice
- 44:56Speaker 2: for all those that want to join that as well.
- 44:58Speaker 2: You've got to join the Big Blue Nation thing over there,
- 45:01Speaker 2: but everybody understands why, so you can go do that too.
- 45:04Speaker 2: We'll talk about volleyball, so stay right there. This is
- 45:07Speaker 2: Just the Cats. We'll be right back. Welcome to Just
- 45:27Speaker 2: the Cats with Michael Bennett. All right, did you watch
- 45:35Speaker 2: the Steelers? Well, of course you did, didn't you? Steelers
- 45:38Speaker 2: versus the, who'd they play last night? Browns. The Browns,
- 45:41Speaker 2: that's right. Actually ended up being a fun game. Yeah, absolutely.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Despite the loss. Did you see Aaron Rodgers get mad?
- 45:48Speaker 2: at the sidelines because they weren't seeing a play in. Oh,
- 45:51Speaker 2: they were him and McCarthy screamed. Well, they did. So
- 45:55Speaker 2: they caught it on the mic. And and of course,
- 46:00Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers drops the F bomb. And then on top
- 46:04Speaker 2: of it all, did you see what Mike McCarthy's response
- 46:08Speaker 2: back to him was? What was that? Blanking a hole.
- 46:15Speaker 2: I mean, he's probably not wrong. He did. Everybody has it.
- 46:20Speaker 2: There's a clip on it everywhere on Twitter. And it's like, oh,
- 46:24Speaker 2: my gosh. What do you think Aaron Rodgers is thinking,
- 46:27Speaker 2: knowing his coach called him that? But they've known each
- 46:30Speaker 2: other for a long time. They haven't. I mean, they
- 46:32Speaker 2: worked with each other at Green Bay. Correct.
- 46:35Speaker 1: And McCarthy basically, I don't know if he actually apologized,
- 46:38Speaker 1: but he basically did in his press conference after the game.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Oh, he did? Oh, I didn't see that. He said
- 46:43Speaker 2: he regretted the exchange. I like the exchange. To me,
- 46:48Speaker 2: that just means you're close enough to each other you
- 46:50Speaker 2: can say anything. And Aaron was kind of a jerk
- 46:55Speaker 2: the way he reacted. Now, granted, I understand why he
- 46:58Speaker 2: was upset, but I don't think he needed to react
- 47:01Speaker 2: that way. Do you?
- 47:04Speaker 1: I mean, it's the heat of battle. I'm never surprised
- 47:08Speaker 1: anymore mid-game when you get these things because emotions run high.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I mean, that stuff happens sometimes. Especially, like you said,
- 47:15Speaker 1: with two guys that have known each other as long
- 47:17Speaker 1: as those two have.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. All right. Well, I thought it was funny.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I enjoyed it. I'm like, okay, I got to talk
- 47:25Speaker 2: to you about this today. And I thought, okay, there
- 47:27Speaker 2: you go. One person texts says, do you need to
- 47:29Speaker 2: be a horseman or a radio host? This is ridiculous.
- 47:32Speaker 2: You'll be gone before the LSU game. All those bad connections.
- 47:35Speaker 2: When you're out, I'm out for good. Okay. But then
- 47:41Speaker 2: he follows up with another text. So he's not out
- 47:44Speaker 2: for good. I hope you're not out for good, Texter.
- 47:47Speaker 2: The audio and the app are so bad when you're
- 47:49Speaker 2: out of the studio. It is just a joke with
- 47:52Speaker 2: what Justin has to work with. Just retire from radio.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Good grief. Who peed in your Cheerios this morning?
- 47:59Speaker 2: P's training camp for Reed's Houston Rockets started September 23rd,
- 48:04Speaker 2: so he won't be there. So there you go. Don't
- 48:07Speaker 2: be out, okay? I'm doing the best I can. Please
- 48:10Speaker 2: don't be out.
- 48:11Speaker 1: And the audio will be better next time.
- 48:13Speaker 2: And continue to send me these messages. I like reading
- 48:17Speaker 2: your messages. It makes me happy. So anyway, 48 Hanley
- 48:21Speaker 2: said Saul was king of Israel. They replaced him with
- 48:24Speaker 2: a younger, more talented player named David. Gamecock coaches dead
- 48:29Speaker 2: man walking. That is true. If they get beat, the
- 48:32Speaker 2: execution could be sooner than later. It's true. Yeah.
- 48:36Speaker 1: I just hope they do a better job than Tennessee did.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah. What do you mean? With their execution. Oh, my. Oh,
- 48:46Speaker 2: my gosh. Too soon? Wow. Yeah. I still think that's
- 48:52Speaker 2: a crazy story, but I don't want to. That is
- 48:55Speaker 2: just gross. I mean, that whole situation is just.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Hey, we're going to kill you, but then we're going
- 49:00Speaker 1: to bring you to the hospital to save you.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Well, you know, I said that yesterday. It's like, that
- 49:03Speaker 2: makes no sense. What are you doing? It is wild. Yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 2: By the way, LSU has a new NIL offer. Did
- 49:14Speaker 2: you see this? Let's hear it. Where you can have
- 49:18Speaker 2: dinner with Lane Kiffin. Oh, my God. 100% of the
- 49:21Speaker 2: proceeds go to LSU NIL. How much do you think
- 49:25Speaker 2: this will go for? Way too much money. See, I
- 49:30Speaker 2: think so, too. I think it'll go for a lot
- 49:33Speaker 2: of money. And I'm talking most likely six figures. I
- 49:36Speaker 2: was thinking seven. Oh, really? Yeah. You think somebody's going
- 49:40Speaker 2: to give a million dollars? See, I think those guys
- 49:46Speaker 2: probably already know him. This has got to be somebody
- 49:49Speaker 2: that does not know him. It's like, this is my
- 49:52Speaker 2: way to get to know Lane Kiffin. We're going to
- 49:53Speaker 2: become best friends.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I don't think it would necessarily be somebody that already
- 49:57Speaker 1: knows him. I just think for as much as I
- 49:59Speaker 1: dislike Lane Kiffin, there's people out there that feel the
- 50:02Speaker 1: exact opposite of me, and they are in love with
- 50:04Speaker 1: this dude.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. You ask any LSU fan. They are so
- 50:09Speaker 2: enamored with Lane Kiffin. I mean, it's kind of a
- 50:12Speaker 2: gross fest how much they love him.
- 50:15Speaker 1: You'll have somebody who just wants to have that opportunity
- 50:18Speaker 1: and has way too much money. Yeah, I think it'll
- 50:20Speaker 1: go seven figures.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Really? No, I would not have guessed that. I would
- 50:23Speaker 2: have thought probably about $ 100, 000, $ 150, 000. No. And good for them.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Way more than that. Wow.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Even if it is six figures, it'll be way more
- 50:32Speaker 1: than that. Is there anybody? Now, does Lane Kiffin pick.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Up the tab? Oh, come on.
- 50:37Speaker 1: If there's somebody spending that much money, do I get
- 50:41Speaker 1: to play alligator arms if I win that?
- 50:43Speaker 2: That's a great question. How long is the dinner and
- 50:46Speaker 2: who picks up the tab?
- 50:48Speaker 1: Because if I just paid $ 600, 000 or whatever, I'm certainly
- 50:52Speaker 1: not spending another $ 150, 000 or whatever.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Exactly. Yeah. LSU has to be. You know Lane Kiffin's
- 50:58Speaker 2: not picking it up. It's got to be LSU picking
- 51:01Speaker 2: it up. Lane Kiffin's so rich, he should pick it up.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Is he really?
- 51:04Speaker 1: And you're doing something that's going to help your football program.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, so the least you can do is pick
- 51:09Speaker 2: up the tab. But does he try and write it
- 51:11Speaker 2: off to LSU football?
- 51:12Speaker 1: A thousand percent. So he gets his reimbursement. That's just
- 51:15Speaker 1: being responsible.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Oh, golly.
- 51:17Speaker 1: I mean, give a little back to the school that's
- 51:19Speaker 1: given you so many millions. Maybe not to LSU, but
- 51:22Speaker 1: he'll at least use it as a tax write-off.
- 51:23Speaker 2: No, I guarantee Houston's it right back to LSU, and
- 51:26Speaker 2: they got to pay him for that expense. But is
- 51:29Speaker 2: there anybody out there? All right, so you think Lane
- 51:32Speaker 2: Kiffin's picking up the check. And how does the conversation go?
- 51:39Speaker 2: I mean, do you only talk football with him?
- 51:41Speaker 1: I would be horrible. See, I'm thinking like, who else
- 51:45Speaker 1: would I want to have dinner with?
- 51:46Speaker 2: Yes.
- 51:47Speaker 1: If I were, if I were given this opportunity and
- 51:49Speaker 1: the first one that comes to my mind is Kurt Cignetti.
- 51:51Speaker 1: But then I initially, or I immediately jumped off of
- 51:54Speaker 1: that because he's going to want to talk nothing but football.
- 51:58Speaker 2: So you would like to go to dinner with him,
- 52:00Speaker 2: but talk about other things. I mean, what would you
- 52:03Speaker 2: bring up? What would the subject matter be between Justin
- 52:07Speaker 2: Kalen and Kurt Cignetti? Life. Oh.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I just want to talk about life, you know?
- 52:13Speaker 2: I like that. I think he would open up about that.
- 52:16Speaker 1: I mean, and I'm sure there would be ties to
- 52:19Speaker 1: football because I'd be curious, like, why he made certain
- 52:22Speaker 1: decisions at certain points in his career. So I'm sure
- 52:24Speaker 1: football would be a part of the conversation.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I wouldn't want it to be all football.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Because I would want to know who influenced you the most,
- 52:33Speaker 2: professionally and personally. There you go. Stuff like that. Yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I think that's a great one. What's your family like? Yes.
- 52:39Speaker 2: That kind of deal. Yeah.
- 52:39Speaker 1: What kind of car? What's your favorite car you've ever driven?
- 52:43Speaker 2: What? That's a weird one. What's your favorite car you've
- 52:46Speaker 2: ever driven? I mean, I was just throwing out examples.
- 52:48Speaker 2: I'm curious, what's your favorite car you've ever driven? A Hyundai?
- 52:51Speaker 2: My Mazda 3, for sure. Oh, okay. Listen, I'm trying
- 52:55Speaker 2: to think. I'm kind of in between. My problem would be,
- 53:00Speaker 2: I think it would be fun if this happened, if
- 53:03Speaker 2: I could choose two people to go to dinner with me.
- 53:07Speaker 2: If I could choose two, it would be Rick Pitino
- 53:09Speaker 2: and John Calipari. Oh, so they would fight? Oh, yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 2: I would be in there, and I would be trying
- 53:14Speaker 2: to drive the point. Oh, yeah. I would want shots fired, fireworks,
- 53:20Speaker 2: you name it. And they got to stay for dessert.
- 53:23Speaker 2: They cannot leave.
- 53:24Speaker 1: I mean, if you want to go that route, I'll
- 53:25Speaker 1: take Cal and Stoops, and we'll just bring up the
- 53:27Speaker 1: football basketball court.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. That's another good one. Hash it out, boys. Yes.
- 53:33Speaker 2: John Calipari and Mark Stoops would be phenomenal. Yes. I'd
- 53:39Speaker 2: love that. How about Rick Pitino and John Schnatter? Former
- 53:46Speaker 2: CEO and founder of Papa John's.
- 53:49Speaker 1: I don't know that I would want to sit next
- 53:51Speaker 1: to sweaty pizza boy.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh, man. I'm not saying that. Okay. Well,
- 54:00Speaker 2: I'd probably have David Grissom, who you don't know who
- 54:02Speaker 2: he is, and the former athletic director at UofL that
- 54:08Speaker 2: got fired because of him. Jurich? Tom Jurich. Yeah. That
- 54:13Speaker 2: would be interesting. You can come up with all kinds
- 54:16Speaker 2: of pairs. Oh, yeah. All right. Pat Forty and Matt Jones.
- 54:21Speaker 2: I think that would be a good conversation. Or even
- 54:25Speaker 2: more so the former UofL radio guy, John Ramsey and
- 54:33Speaker 2: Matt Jones and Michael Bennett. Because I think I love
- 54:37Speaker 2: John Ramsey. I think he's a really, really nice. I've
- 54:40Speaker 2: always liked John Ramsey. Really nice guy. Genuine person. But,
- 54:44Speaker 2: you know, you get Matt in a position where he's
- 54:47Speaker 2: with two people that he's not very comfortable with. I
- 54:50Speaker 2: would do it. I think it'd be a lot of fun.
- 54:53Speaker 2: And then we would randomly invite a UK and a
- 54:57Speaker 2: UofL fan to come join us. Ooh, this could be
- 55:00Speaker 2: your all's nil thing. I think so. Yeah, raffle it off. Exactly.
- 55:05Speaker 1: You three, and then the split the proceeds between the schools?
- 55:08Speaker 2: Yes. Between me, Matt Jones, John Ramsey, and or Pat Forty,
- 55:12Speaker 2: because Pat Forty hates me. Oh, ever since I had
- 55:17Speaker 2: a little battle with him on Twitter, oh, he chewed
- 55:20Speaker 2: me out one day after a basketball game. Chewed me out.
- 55:23Speaker 2: I just said, it's nice meeting you. And I walked on. So, oh, yeah,
- 55:28Speaker 2: he does not like me. And I went up and
- 55:31Speaker 2: apologized to him, but he didn't like the apology.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Maybe he was just jealous that your gray hair was
- 55:36Speaker 1: a little better than his gray.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Oh, really? No. Of other media members, what would be
- 55:41Speaker 2: a fun one to donate NIL to their respective school?
- 55:44Speaker 2: Am I missing anybody? Because I think the fun one
- 55:46Speaker 2: is between me and Matt Jones. I think that would
- 55:49Speaker 2: be fun. You an AC? No. I don't have time
- 55:53Speaker 2: for that. So there you go. Yeah. That was probably
- 55:58Speaker 2: not happening. I can. Yeah. Yeah. No, no, no. Wouldn't
- 56:02Speaker 2: be any amount of money that would get me there. So, yeah.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Because the guy claims he's apologized to me and it's like, no,
- 56:08Speaker 2: you didn't. Anyway. Yeah. Thanks for bringing that one up.
- 56:12Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 56:13Speaker 1: That was my favorite radio day of my life.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Was it really? Oh, yeah. Why? I'll just.
- 56:18Speaker 1: That's a day I'll never, ever forget. Driving away from
- 56:21Speaker 1: the studio and listening to you guys.
- 56:24Speaker 2: It was fun. I had fun with him. It was fantastic.
- 56:28Speaker 2: I did. I thought it was a fun radio show.
- 56:32Speaker 2: But he didn't like it much. One person texted, my
- 56:36Speaker 2: favorite car, I had a Jeep Cherokee during high school
- 56:39Speaker 2: and got into way too many hijinks with it. Heard that.
- 56:44Speaker 2: That's cool. I like Jeep Cherokees. That was the first
- 56:47Speaker 2: car I bought myself. And I loved it until a
- 56:50Speaker 2: lady ran into me and totaled it. Um, one person, uh,
- 56:55Speaker 2: 48 Hanley said, I'd asked Kiffin for advice on catching
- 56:57Speaker 2: those young girls. I can't catch them anymore. I've resorted
- 57:02Speaker 2: to set setting snares. Oh my God. That is crazy.
- 57:08Speaker 2: How that does all transpired. Oh, that was such a good,
- 57:12Speaker 2: would you sit at a table at, uh, with Rick
- 57:14Speaker 2: Patino and ask him what was that night? Like at Valari? No,
- 57:18Speaker 2: it wasn't Valari. It wasn't. Okay. Um, Oh my gosh,
- 57:22Speaker 2: what is the name of that? Porcini's. Porcini's. Okay, would
- 57:24Speaker 2: you ask him any questions about that?
- 57:27Speaker 1: I don't know because I think, I don't know, that
- 57:30Speaker 1: whole situation kind of grosses me out.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:33Speaker 1: Like I've eaten at that restaurant one time and when
- 57:36Speaker 1: I walked through the door, that was the first thing
- 57:38Speaker 1: that crossed my mind. All right, which table was it?
- 57:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Would you have dinner with Mitch Barnhart and ask
- 57:45Speaker 2: him why did he love the checkerboard so much? Because
- 57:48Speaker 2: that's a question he got mad at me with. I
- 57:50Speaker 2: personally wouldn't because I think that would be a very
- 57:52Speaker 2: boring dinner. Okay. Mitch Barnhart would be boring. I think so.
- 57:56Speaker 2: What would be the uncomfortable question you would ask John Calipari? Hmm.
- 58:06Speaker 2: I don't think there's really an uncomfortable question for him.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, he would spin everything in a way
- 58:11Speaker 1: where it didn't seem uncomfortable.
- 58:14Speaker 2: All right, here's what the dinner would be. It would
- 58:17Speaker 2: be John Calipari, Mitch Barnhart, and Michael Bennett. I think
- 58:21Speaker 2: that would be the most uncomfortable dinner because those two
- 58:24Speaker 2: just did not get along.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't really have a question that I think
- 58:31Speaker 1: Cal would take awkwardly.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Yeah. I do. He's too self-centered for that. Oh, you
- 58:36Speaker 2: think so? Because I would ask him, why did you
- 58:38Speaker 2: think UK's a basketball school? Because they are. Yeah. I
- 58:43Speaker 2: still think the Cal and the best one you said
- 58:46Speaker 2: is Cal and Mark Stoops. That would have been a
- 58:49Speaker 2: lot of fun. Just to fire him up a little bit. Yeah.
- 58:51Speaker 2: It definitely would have fired him up without a doubt.
- 58:54Speaker 2: By the way, I don't know if you saw this
- 58:55Speaker 2: or not, but I thought this was an awesome story.
- 58:59Speaker 2: A Missouri man who spent decades... wondering who his biological
- 59:04Speaker 2: parents were, recently reunited with his birth father. Okay? Great story.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Great story. That's not the end of it. Are you
- 59:14Speaker 2: ready for this? He finds out his dad is none
- 59:18Speaker 2: other than Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers. I thought
- 59:23Speaker 2: you said it was going to be somebody everybody knew.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Do you not know the Doobie Brothers?
- 59:28Speaker 1: I do know the Doobie Brothers, but I'm not familiar
- 59:30Speaker 1: with Michael McDonald. He's the lead singer of the Doobie Brothers.
- 59:33Speaker 2: I know now. He had a, wow, I'm really, okay,
- 59:37Speaker 2: that just shows me right there, generational change right there.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Michael McDonald, well, he had his own career by him
- 59:44Speaker 2: as a solo artist, Michael McDonald. There are songs out
- 59:48Speaker 2: there you know that are by Michael McDonald. Oh, I'm sure. Yeah.
- 59:52Speaker 2: I keep forgetting we're not in love anymore. You don't
- 59:56Speaker 2: know me, but I'm your brother. Come on, you know
- 59:59Speaker 2: that song. And people were going off on Twitter, by
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: the way, and changing the lyrics to you don't know me,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: but I'm your father, which I thought was really funny. Yeah,
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: you need to look up Michael McDonald, okay? I'm looking
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: him up right now. And he has a lot of
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: great songs. He was the keyboardist. And he wrote a
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: lot of songs and sang a lot of songs.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Could you imagine if you figure out who your birth
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: father is and it's some rich man?
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Like, hell yeah.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Not just rich, but extremely famous. Buddy, you owe me
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: 60 years of child support.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: Yeah. All right, I can do that. I just want
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: to know. Here's what I want to know about this.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: He kind of looks like him. He does.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: But does he sing like him and does he play
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: the piano? I'm going to guess no. Oh, you don't
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: think so? Well, I mean, because you have to be...
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: well-versed in that stuff. Like you, you're not just good
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: at that because you're good at it. You, you have
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: to have practice.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Yeah. But don't you think biologically you get the same characteristics?
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Like there are athletes out there. Their kids are really
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: good at the same. Uh, well, they're maybe not the
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: same sport, but sometimes they are. You don't think singers
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: are that way, too, that you have a child? If
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: I'm a famous singer, you don't think my children could
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: be just as good a singer, too? Let me put
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: it this way to you. All right. And I don't
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: mean any disrespect here if he's listening. Yes.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: My dad is the worst singer.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: In the world.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Now, he has shown improvement over the last several years,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: but he cannot sing. He can't carry a beat. He
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: can't carry a tune. He's not a good singer. He's
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: really good at a lot of other things, but he
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: can't sing. I can sing a little bit. I'm not
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: over the top good but i i could sing well
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: you got that from your mom i did can she
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: sing she can okay there you go so you got
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: it from your mom but shouldn't i yeah i don't
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: know i don't really know how jeans work i guess
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: i got her jeans instead of his which i'm very
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: thankful for yeah because it's he's horrendous.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: So they're mom jeans yeah mom jeans Okay, well, that
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: was a bad joke. That was. Anyway. I gave you
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: a pity. I just, well, I thought, okay, it would
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: be crazy if he could play the piano and sound
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: just like him. And people say, man, you sound just
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: like Michael McDonald, only to find out he's related to
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Michael McDonald. I thought it was a great story. I
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: loved it. Pretty wild. Yeah. We're going to take a break,
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: but I want you to play an interview that happened
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: last night between New Jersey Devils sideline reporter asked Jack Hughes,
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: who plays for the Devils, maybe the dumbest question in
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: the world. I want you to look that up, and
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: we'll talk about it as soon as we get back.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: But we'll play that, talk about that. Plus, we got
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: volleyball has a big weekend this weekend, and then we
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: got a bunch of other games, too. as well as
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: what is going on in St. Lucia, Florida. We'll talk
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: about that as well. Stay right there. We got more
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Just the Cats coming right up. I'm a believer and
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: not a trace. I'm down in my mind.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I'm in love. I'm a believer.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I couldn't leave her if I tried. One person said
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: on the Whiskey Thief text line, 502-414-1450, McDonald's, Michael McDonald's
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: best was his duet with Patti LaBelle on my own. Oh,
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: I remember that song. I know you don't. Nope. Yeah,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: I figured you didn't. Do you even know the name
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Patti LaBelle? I do. Okay. So you know Patti LaBelle,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: but you don't know Michael McDonald. I don't. Really? Okay.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: But you know the songs I'm talking about from the
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Doobie Brothers, right? I don't think I do. Come on.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Maybe I should have picked some Doobie Brothers songs. Without
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: hearing them, it's really hard to say.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: You try to sing them and you sound like.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: A dying mouse. I mean, I can't pick it up.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: My voice isn't that bad. It's not great. One person said,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: did you ever see where Bill Burr and Billy Corrigan
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: from the Smashing Pumpkins are brothers from the Father Philanderer? Yes,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I did. And if I remember the interview, there was
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: one interview where Bill Burr was being interviewed and they
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: surprised him with Billy Corrigan showing up. And Bill Burr
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: did not appreciate it. I don't think he liked that
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: whole situation. You know who the Smashing Pumpkins are, right? Yeah.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: I think I played some yesterday. Oh, did you really? Okay.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: And Billy Corrigan is the lead singer from Chicago. And yeah, it's,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: it's the, I like the smashing pumpkins and Billy, Billy
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: Gorgon seems like a really nice guy. Are you a
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: big Bill Burr fan? Not really. No. See, I kind
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: of feel the same way. I, he kind of comes
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: across like a jerk.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: I mean, he's better than Conan O'Brien, but.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Okay. Let's leave it at that. Uh, universe, Kentucky, uh,
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: it was announced yesterday, universe, Kentucky men's basketball versus U
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: of L. Uh, which is, we all know, Saturday, December
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: the 12th at Rupp Arena. We'll tip off at 4
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: o'clock on ABC. So it's going to get some primetime
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: appreciation there. And, of course, it has UK preseason 22
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: and UofL preseason 15. Were you surprised that UK preseason
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: and UofL preseason are ranked as low as they are?
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: Not really, no. Really? Because, you know, on the transfer portal,
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: they were some of the top teams, top five teams
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: right there. UK, I think, finished at what? Number two?
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: And UofL, number four? And then, lo and behold, preseason,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: they have no confidence in them. And UofL, as much
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: money as they spent, they're at 15, and UK's at 22.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: I was kind of surprised by that. I wouldn't say
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: no confidence. I mean, it's just there's a lot of new, right?
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: But that was new every year with the John Calipari regime.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: They were always up there in the top five. with
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: a brand new team every single year. Yeah, no, I
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: understand that. But with Transfer Portal, it's different because Cal
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: is bringing in freshmen. You can kind of project how
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: a freshman season is going to go. You don't know
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: how these seasons are going to go for like your
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: Alex Wilkins from Furman or– You know, all this.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Stuff is just so fluid. I have kind of like
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Will Stein said the other day, I don't even know
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: why they rank. It doesn't matter right now. Well, but
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: I know it doesn't matter. But on the other hand,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: bringing in freshmen where you have you don't know what
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: they're going to be like in college and then rank
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: the rank that team as a top five team in
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: the country. Whereas you have known entities with players that
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: have gotten experience in college, it seems like it would
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: be the opposite effect to me. Freshmen would be ranked
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: a lot lower, whereas experienced college players, to me, would
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: be ranked higher. Yeah, I mean, I don't really know
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: how to combat that.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Okay. Because I can see it both ways. Can you really?
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, I don't have
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: an issue with the rankings. You don't? Okay. I probably
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: don't either. Because I... I'm just happy UK's ranked in
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: the top 25. I didn't see them going to be
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: in the top 25. I'm glad they're there. If I'm
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: completely honest and transparent, I have no feel for this
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: team at all. I know a lot of people out
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: there are excited. I know a lot of people out
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: there are not excited. I have zero feel how this
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: is and how they're going to work. I think in
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: part to be like, that's kind of cool. I like
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: it because maybe I can relax a little and enjoy
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: this team.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Well, that's what I was thinking. Or is that just
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: you protecting your heart? Probably that too. But no, I
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: think it's more so not protecting my heart. That is
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: truly the way I feel now with football. It's completely
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: different tomorrow night or tomorrow afternoon. So, but no, with basketball,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I don't know how to feel about this team. I
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: kind of like that. So we'll see.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: I mean, if they do, if Mark Pope does get
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: this one, uh, assistant coach, I kind of feel good
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: about that, especially for the future, but it might be
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: a quick trip for this poor guy. It does not
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: turn out the way a lot of people are predicting.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: It's true.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: And then, then what, you know, I don't know if
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: he loses his job.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm going to feel so bad for him. Are you,
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: because this is his dream job, right? Yeah.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I mean, you, get an opportunity at a place where
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: you played where you grew up and that's that's how
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: it pans out so there there's a large part of
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: me rooting for mark.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: Pope this year yeah Yeah, you would think he's a
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: bit of a sentimental favorite, but, I mean, there are U.K.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: fans out there that have just checked out. And I
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: understand you cannot use the injury excuse anymore. This is
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: three years in a row he's had injuries. You've got
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: to figure something else out. You're consistently– I know it's
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: been the luck of the draw and bad luck of
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: the draw for that fact. That's bad luck. And that happens.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: And maybe this is not your path of destiny. So
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: I don't know. I hope it succeeds. I hope he's there.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: But I guess I just don't have a lot of
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: faith right now. And I hate to be that way.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: But I'm not rooting against this team. That's the one
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: thing I don't understand how people can root against your team.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Just like with the example of Shane Beamer. and so
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: many people that dislike him right now and him fully
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: admitting that. I appreciate he's fully admitting that, but I
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: can't imagine rooting against your own team so you get
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: rid of one person. I'm not built that way. I mean,
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: weren't you kind of like that in Stoops last year? No,
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: not at all. I wanted Stoops to work. I liked Mark,
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: and that was my bias. I wanted Mark to work. But, yeah,
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: at some point, I guess, he's like, okay, it didn't
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: turn out again. It might be time. And that was
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: the best thing. It was the best thing. I feel
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: bad for Mark, but on the other hand, how do
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: you feel bad for a guy that just walked away
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: with $ 30- some- odd million? Sure, right. In the same way with
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: Shane Beamer. At that point, it's like, oh, yeah, I
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: forgot that. I don't feel bad for that guy. What
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: is his buyout, I wonder? I don't know what Shane
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Beamers is. It can't be that much. 27.9. There you go.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: So he's going to walk out with over $ 20 million.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: But it drops to 22.1 after the end of the year.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: So that makes me think they'll wait. They'll wait. They'll
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: save that $ 5 million.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Nearly $ 6 million.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: Because there's a lot of people that have said, no,
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: they'll fire him as soon as that game's over if
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: UK beats him this weekend.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: If he leaves, he owes $ 4 million.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: That's crazy. Yeah, and so I've often wondered, does he
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: regret not taking the– because you know Virginia Tech came
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: after him because his dad coached– had many successful years
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: at Virginia Tech. Do you think he regrets now not
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: taking that Virginia Tech job? Maybe.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Easier to win in the ACC. That's the other part too.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: And on top of that, so he makes 8.25 a year.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: That's ninth in the SEC. Isn't that crazy?
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Wow, ninth?
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: You're making over $ 8 million a year, and you're ninth
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: highest in the SEC.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Wow. That's something else. Yeah, it's Kirby Smart that has
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: number one paycheck, isn't it? Has to. Yeah. Reports are
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: coming out that the 2014 college football playoff is a
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: foregone conclusion as leaders negotiate with ESPN. Does this mean, Justin,
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: because I know how you feel about this, Does this
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: mean that regular season will mean absolutely almost nothing? It'll
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: mean something, but almost nothing. Say it again.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: What you said initially. I was looking up Kirby's.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Oh, okay. That's all right. Reports are coming out that
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: 2014 college football playoff is a foregone conclusion. I hate it. Yeah.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: I knew you would hate that. Yeah, it's just too many.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: So does that mean that the regular season really won't
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: be as big a deal? It's all about just making
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: the playoffs.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: I mean, it definitely doesn't make Notre Dame want to
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: make their schedule any harder, I'll.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: Tell you that. No, not at all, which again is
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: not fair. That has to change, but go ahead. I mean,
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: that's really all I had to say is, yeah, it will.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: I mean, the regular season, I mean, with 12, you
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: could argue that it's really not as important as it
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: used to be because- 12 teams are getting in. And
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: same thing when you go to 16. But 24, it
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: feels like too many. You're really going to diminish the
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: regular season at that point. Does that mean the season
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: starts earlier or college football playoffs goes later?
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Hopefully college football goes later.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: I agree. I hope so, too. But I don't want 24.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: Come on, man. Well, they say it's going to happen,
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: 24 teams.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Think about the bad teams you're going to have in
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: the playoffs. Ideally, they're going to be top 25 teams,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: so I don't know how bad you can really say
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: they are, but there's going to be teams in this
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: playoffs with four or five losses.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Yeah. You put in 24. Yeah, and it's going to
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: be mostly big-tended SEC teams. Duke makes the playoffs. UK
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: makes the playoffs.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Like, Duke last year makes the playoffs with their ACC title.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: That would have been nuts because they would get murdered. Well,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: what's going to happen to all the meaningless bowl games then?
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: Will they just dissipate and go away?
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: Hopefully. Yeah. Yeah. They stink anyways. Keep the Pop-Tart Bowl.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Let's get rid of the rest. Oh, you like the
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: Pop-Tart Bowl because of the way they celebrate. It's gimmicky.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: It's fun. Yeah. But gimmicky works, though, doesn't it? That's
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah. But I know. Nobody goes
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: to those games unless it's a... Well, I don't even
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: know if I'd go to all the Florida games. It
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: used to be before. I just want to go to
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: bowl games that are in Florida or somewhere warm. No
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: offense to Nashville. You know how I feel about that city.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: I don't want to go to that bowl game. I
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: don't want to go to Birmingham. I don't even want
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: to go to Yankee Stadium to see a game.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: How about Memphis? No, that's even worse. That's where Kentucky
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: projected now.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: Oh, really? Yep. Liberty Bowl? Yeah. That's just not a
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: good bowl. So that's great that Kentucky's being considered for
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: a bowl game, but I'm just not interested in going there.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: I want to go to Florida. I'm going to go
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: to Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa. I mean, I think one
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: of the funnest bowls down there is the one right
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: there in Tampa, Raymond James. What bowl is that? Outback Bowl. Well,
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: it's called something else now, but it used to be
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: for years the Outback Bowl. I would rather go to
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: a bowl in Fargo, North Dakota. Oh, my God. In
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: the middle of winter. No.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Than go to a bowl in Orlando. Are you kidding me?
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: Oh, really? Well, see, I get that. Orlando sucks. Yeah.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Is there a bowl game there, by the way? Fargo?
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: I doubt it. I thought you were being kind of serious.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: There's a real bowl game there. I doubt it. Okay.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: So you don't like the 2014 clouds. What should it be? 16?
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: 16 is my absolute max.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. All right there. I don't want to go
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: past that. Okay. All right then.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Because NFL is how many? NFL, you get 14.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, 14. So 24 would be 10 more teams. So
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: five more games. I don't know. It's just all about
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: the money.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: I'm all here for more football, but that just seems egregious.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: It'll just be all Big Ten and SEC.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Oh, you'll have seven teams from each league.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be whoever makes it halfway through the season
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: is up in the upper echelon. They'll make it. And
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: it won't be small teams making it. So one person
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: texted in. So Beamer makes $ 8 million to coach and
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: makes $ 21 million if he's fired. No way South Carolina
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: fires him then. I don't know. I just think they're
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: so mad at him that they don't care what it's
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: going to cost. It's just like, get rid of him.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: Let's be done now. Yep. Might as well. Yeah, I
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: know it, but it's just one of those crazy things
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: that's going to happen. So it'll be interesting to see
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: if it does or not. I don't know if you
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: saw this story or not, but there's a crazy story
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: coming out of South Korea. They've adopted a shark named Bukangi.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: And here's the reason why he's swimming around a canal
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: in a city called Busan and has attracted. Are you
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: ready for this? More than 600,000 visitors. Officials in the
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: city have tried to use boats and streams of water
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: to guide the shark back to open waters, and the
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: shark refuses to go and stays in these canals in
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: this small town. Can you imagine a single shark that
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: is swimming around in these canals of a city, and
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: it has attracted more than 600,000 people to come see
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: the pet shark of this city?
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I mean, why are we trying to move it?
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: I don't know why. I mean, clearly the shark wants to,
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: I guess they think they're going to help it by
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: getting it back out in the open water. Listen, if
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: the shark wants to swim around this canal, let the
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: shark swim around the canal, unless there's people that like
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: to swim in the canals.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Well, I'm sorry about you. It's shark's home. I'm with you.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: If he wants to be there, let him be there.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Exactly. I think it's, first of all, It's bringing 600,000
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: people to your city. Don't you think that means something
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: for all the businesses around there? Can you imagine if
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: we had a pet dolphin in the Ohio River downtown Louisville,
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: and we're trying to get rid of it and send
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: it back to the Gulf of Mexico?
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: I'd be on the walking bridge way more than I
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: am if we had a dolphin in the Ohio River.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Oh, so have you ever done that walking bridge, by
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: the way? Yep. I've never done it. You should. It's
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: a fun walk. I've done the East End Bridge. I've
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: done that one. I didn't like it.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Especially when you, so if you start on the Louisville side,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: there's some pretty cool restaurants over there in Jeffersonville once
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: you get off the bridge.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: Yeah. That's a fun little fun little time. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: One person texted in the shark's name is what? Careful
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: with that pronunciation. I'm not saying it again. I'll say it. Yeah.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Why is that so bad? It's his name. Yeah, it's
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: a cute name. I don't know what it means. I'm
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: sure it means something in Koreanese. It means cute shark.
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: That's what it means. And Michael's saying it correctly. Leave
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: me alone, Jamie. But no, I thought that was a
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: funny story. I would love it. No, I have not
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: been to that downtown bridge. Can you see through it? Oh, yeah. Oh,
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: you mean like on the bottom? Yes. No, you can't. Okay, good.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: Because I've walked that bridge in Cincinnati. That blue one
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: up there that goes between. Oh, I love that bridge.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: Northern Kentucky and downtown Cincinnati. I hate that bridge. I
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: like that one. I did it one time and one
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: time was enough. It was the worst walk of my life.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: The cars driving on that bridge are a little bit
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: too loud for my liking. But no, I think that
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: bridge is cool. No, I cannot. I thought you were
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: scared of heights like I am.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: I mean, not if I'm on a bridge. I feel
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: pretty safe.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: No, I don't. I see that water way down there,
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: and I'm like, I know I'm going to be sucked
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: under this bridge and fall.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: I'm only scared of heights when there's a chance that
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: I could fall. But if I've got railings around me, no,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: I'm not going to be scared of heights.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: Okay. All right. Then I'm glad you're not going to
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: be scared of heights. I am. Ask me in 20 years,
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: my answer might be different. Okay. All right. We got
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: to take our last break. We're going to talk about
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: some of the games coming up this weekend, give you
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: our predictions, and we have to talk about UK volleyball.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: They've got a big weekend, this two-game series between two
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: different teams. So let's talk about that as well. Stay
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: right there. One more second at Just the Cats. We'll
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: see you in a minute. You've got to love another
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: man You know, that's the one thing that I really
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: appreciate that you do, is play this before every game
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: that we have. Oh, yeah. That is a song that
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: makes me so happy.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Gotta get the people pumped up.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and you do that. You do a wonderful job
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: at it. You've done a great job this week, as usual. Thanks, sir.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: One thing that didn't have one player pumped up yesterday
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: was the post-game, or I should say, halftime interview yesterday.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: If you haven't seen it, go check it out. It's
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: New Jersey Devils. Jack Hughes did not like the question
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: that he was asked. Go ahead and play it, Justin.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: We have 40 minutes to go, so we got to
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: keep working at it. Well, it's great to see you healthy.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: Let's wrap you in bubble wrap and use plastic cutlery
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: this year. Does that sound good? I mean, I think
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: that's a weird joke. Big game. How do you like that?
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: All right. If you don't know the story. So Jack
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: Hughes was at a dinner last week, a team dinner,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: and he got his finger cut by a broken glass.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: And this reporter comes up and tries to make a
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: joke about it, which, you know, hockey players are not
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: big jokesters, by the way. They're tough guys. And he
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: took offense to the joke. Do you think that was
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: appropriate for her to talk about plastic cutlery and bubble wrap?
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: Or do you think that was inappropriate? I don't have
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: an issue with it. I think she was just trying
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: to let some of her personality shine. I mean, it
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: is a weird thing to say, but. I think the
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: timing was off. The timing was off, yeah, but overall,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: I don't really have an issue.
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: You don't? Okay.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: By the way, is their hallway back to their locker
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: room's ice?
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: No, it's rubber.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: That's what I thought, but if you watch Hughes skate
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: off the ice, it's almost like he keeps skating down
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: the tunnel.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Normally when they get off the ice, they're walking. But
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: if you watch him in this video.
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: I didn't see that.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: Yeah, check it out again because it looks like he
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: keeps skating.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: Okay. So if their hallways are ice, that would be awesome.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: That would be cool. But no, why would they have that?
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: I don't know. That would be a lot of money
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: without a doubt for them to do that.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Way more convenient for the players than having to try
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: to walk on those skates.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Now I got to go see this. I mean.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: I'm telling you, it looks like he skates off. If
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: you go watch it, he didn't think it was funny
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: at all.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: She's laughing. And of course, everybody's criticizing now. It's like, okay,
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: can we be done with these interviews? I think people
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: are getting sick of them. He was the hero of
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: the Olympics, right? Or was that his brother? Oh, I...
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: I can't remember. I don't remember which way it was.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: I can't remember. It was... Yeah, I think it was Jack,
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: the one that... Okay.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Remember he had the bloody lips?
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. How could you forget that? By the way,
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: it does look like he's skating off. Doesn't it? Yeah.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: That's weird. Because normally they come to a complete stop.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: And they'll take steps. And they take a step. Yeah.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: And he's not taking a step. I think he's going
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: underneath the stadium chairs and it looks like he is
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: stinking skating. Yeah.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: I think they're, I think their hallways are ice.
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: Now I got to know. Okay. All right. Yeah. We
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: got to find out if the hallways are ice. That
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: would be the coolest thing ever. All right. UK volleyball
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: has a tough weekend. Very usual. Yeah, nothing different. And
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: you know what? I think Craig Skinner loves it that way. Tonight,
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: they are at Auburn. Auburn's not ranked, but again, it's
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: still an SEC team, and it's down there at Auburn. 3-0. What?
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Break out the brooms. Oh, you think they're going to
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: sweep them.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: 7 o'clock tonight, and then on Sunday is the really
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: tough game. They will face October 4th at 8. 30,
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: a late game, down in Florida against No. 7 Florida.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: So they'll be in Gainesville. That's going to be the
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: good game right now. That'll be a tough one. Yeah,
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: that one will be tough. I'll go 3-1 there. You will? Yeah.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I mean, this team's battle-tested. They're not going to see
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: anything this portion of the season that they haven't seen already.
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. All right, other games this weekend. You got No.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: 7 Alabama playing No. 16 Mississippi State. Uh, that's going
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: to be in Starkville noon on ABC. To me, I'm
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: kind of surprised that game's at noon. You know, the
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: television has really screwed up some of the really good games.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: You would have liked to have seen Texas and Tennessee
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: at night last weekend, but they said, well, we had
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: to choose. And we really thought the LSU game would
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: be a big game. And then this is a game
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: right here. Mississippi state. Who's been the absolute surprise of
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: the sec. Playing at noon against Alabama, I guess that's
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: one of those other situations. We never dreamed Mississippi State
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: would be good. And here they are. Who are you
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: cheering for in that one? Oh, that's easy. Mississippi State.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: Shouldn't you cheer for Alabama, though?
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: Why? Oh, because they are to beat Kentucky? Yeah. I
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: see what you're saying.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: You want them to be as good as possible, right?
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: You're probably right. Yeah, because it makes Kentucky look better. So,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: you know what?
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: Justin, you just changed my mind. I'm probably rooting for
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Alabama then so that they look better. I could do that.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: I'm just always for the underdog. And Mississippi State is
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: kind of like Kentucky. They're always the underdog. Never well
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: respected when it comes to football.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you want to be like the rising
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: powers right now in the SEC are Kentucky, Mississippi State.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: I'd even argue maybe Missouri. So you want Mississippi State
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: to lose, so that even makes Kentucky better.
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you're exactly correct. So I could not agree with
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: you more. Number eight, Florida is going to be heading
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: over to Columbia, Missouri to play number 25, Missouri. Uh,
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: that's at three 30 on ABC. I, I listen, I
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: think this is going to be an absolute blowout. John Summerall.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: I know it's early in the season, but he's got
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: it going on at Florida. And that, that Florida fan
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: base is thanking their, their angels up there for bringing
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: John Summerall and not Lane Kiffin. Cause if I had
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: the choices between the two coaches, I'm taking John Summerall
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: way before I'm taking Lane Kiffin. Absolutely.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: And all that drama that is associated with Lane Kiffin.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: I'm right there with you. If you're Missouri, good luck
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: stopping Jaden Ball. Yeah, I don't think they're going to.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: He's awesome.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Auburn's headed to Knoxville to play UT. That's at 3.30
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: on ESPN. I think that will be, I mean, that
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: might be an interesting game for about a half, but
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: that's kind of it. So I think the other big
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: game outside the conference is going to be number five,
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: Ohio State. I'm going to be number 14's Iowa biggest
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: fan outside of Iowa. 330 on CBS. That's going to
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: be a good game. And so you feel the same way.
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: Anytime I want to see a team beat, it's Ohio State.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Well, I'm just glad that they're playing at Iowa because
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: they're Maybe the whole country is not privy to the
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: tradition that Iowa has. The wave to the kids. That
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: is one of the neatest traditions across all of college sports. And,
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: of course, that's where game day is going to be too,
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: And I predicted Ohio State was going to miss the playoffs,
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: so I really need them to lose this.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: Yeah. If they lose.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: This, then lose to Indiana and find one more loss
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: along the way. My prediction may be right.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but Ohio State, if they have two losses, they're
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: still making the playoffs, aren't they?
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: Well, they're going to have at least two because they
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: lose to Indiana.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: Jeez. Okay. All right. Vanderbilt is going to be headed
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: to number two University of Georgia at 1245 on the
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: SEC network. I know what you were saying about that
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: game during the break. Blowout City USA. Yeah. And then
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: LSU winds up the night at 745 playing.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: Oh, tough game. McNeese State. So that'll be on the
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: SEC network. Do we think Will Wade will be there?
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: Has to be, right? With his ties to both schools,
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: he'll have to be.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he'll probably be over there on the
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: football sidelines of McNeese State trying to see if anybody
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: would want to come play football. I mean, basketball for him.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: Probably wouldn't be a bad strategy. I guess the only
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: game that I think is the best one of the weekend,
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: besides UK-South Carolina, is going to be that Alabama-Mississippi State game.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: And I know you're going to say Ohio State-Iowa just
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: because it's a big team, but I'm talking about the SEC.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: I don't disagree with you on that. Yeah, yeah. Uh,
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: but all right. Uh, so how much time we got
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: four minutes, three minutes.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: We have got three minutes.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: Okay. Three minutes. Let's talk about the game. Uh, UK
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: has to play a clean game tomorrow. I think that's
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: true of every single game they got coming up. They
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: have to be extremely clean tomorrow, uh, and somehow be
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: able to contain their quarterback, which you and I agree
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: with that. Not very good, but he's one of those
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: dual threat things. I think Kentucky's prepared for that. especially
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: how they were able to handle Texas A & M.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: The running game is what has me worried with South
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: Carolina because they're really good on the running game. What
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: are you worried about the most, if anything, with UK
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: playing South Carolina tomorrow night?
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: I mean, I really don't have many worries.
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: I still can't believe that.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: I mean, I guess if I'm slightly concerned about anything,
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: I'm still not sure what to make of that special
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: teams unit. That would be my one thing where I'm
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: kind of concerned. But, I mean, overall, I just think
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: this is a game that Kentucky should win. If they
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: run the ball effectively, like I said, that's an advantage
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: for them in this game. That will open up the
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: playbook offensively and allow Kenny Menchie to try to do
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: some more things. So, I just– my main key is
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: run the ball effectively and that this is a game
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: you should win. And dare I say hand. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: Dare you say it. And I believe that. I really
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: believe that could definitely happen. I just see it going
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: both ways. But more than not, I see UK winning
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: this game. So the only part that I probably besides
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: the special teams is the wide receiver. And you said
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: it earlier this week that, okay, it sounds like a
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: game where the tight ends are going to catch the
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: ball and have the ball.
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: Pass through them. I hope that is the case. Exactly. So,
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: and UK clearly has an advantage there. And Kenny Minchie,
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: he has to continue just to get better. I mean,
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: he's getting, he's gotten better every single game. I really
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: think so. And that, and the best part is the
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: offensive line has gotten better every single game. So prediction wise,
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: what are you thinking? You know what? Screw it.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: I took, from a gambling perspective, I took Kentucky minus
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: two and a half earlier this week. I think I
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: shorted myself by a large number.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: I'm going Kentucky 37, South Carolina 20.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Wow. 17 point win. Call me crazy, but that's what
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: I am calling you crazy because I'm probably right there
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: behind you. I'm thinking this is going to be a
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: 14 point win for UK. And that makes me feel
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: even worse that you and I think this is going
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: to be a blowout.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: And now it's going to be a complete loss. Your
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: mindset completely flipped throughout the week. I've been staying steady
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: the whole week.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: I know, but I'm going to let my heart rule
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: my head and say, okay, I'll buy into it. You've
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: talked me into it, Justin Kalen.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: UK's going to win this game. That's how we end
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: a week. Exactly. We're going to have a fun day
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: on Monday because now UK's going to move up in
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: the rankings, and then we get ready for LSU. So, everybody,
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: have a great weekend. Appreciate you listening this week, and
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: we'll see you Monday on Just the Cats. Thank you.
