- 0:003 lifelong friends, 6 trusty balls and endless NFL takes.
- 0:05Welcome to three guys 6 Balls NFL podcast.
- 0:08Welcome to episode 60 of Three guys 6 balls NFL Podcast.
- 0:11I'm your host Joel and I'm here with my two Co host Will and
- 0:14Avery. The 2026 NFL draft is officially
- 0:17over and so today we're going to share our thoughts on who the
- 0:20NFL draft winners and losers were.
- 0:22But before we do that, we have to wish Avery a happy birthday.
- 0:26His birthday is this week and so for a whole 8 days he will be
- 0:29the old man of the group. How does it feel to be turning
- 0:3233, Avery? Feels good and it feels good to
- 0:35be doing this podcast with my two kids, my two sons, my two
- 0:40baby boys. Are you ready to sing?
- 0:45It's harder to. Wake up.
- 0:47I certainly could. All right, go for it.
- 0:50Just you. Don't.
- 0:54The two quality podcast concert right there.
- 0:58All right, happy birthday to you in post.
- 1:01Oh, yeah, Yeah. All right, well, let's get into
- 1:04some of our thoughts from the NFL draft before we do the
- 1:07winners and losers. Do either of you guys have any
- 1:10thoughts just about the draft in general, whether it's something
- 1:13that surprised you, something that you thought would happen
- 1:16that did happen? It could be anything.
- 1:18Everything I thought was going to happen, happened.
- 1:21Not everything, everything, obviously, but like I, I took a
- 1:24victory lap. Just Germont McCoy didn't go
- 1:26until day three. Wow, weird.
- 1:28Weird how the guy who hasn't played football in a year and a
- 1:32half didn't get drafted high, who has actively chosen not to
- 1:37perform at full speed. He didn't do things that his pro
- 1:40day, but it wasn't that full speed nor did it work very
- 1:42clean. And then he got, I want to say
- 1:44punished for that, but he treated appropriately for that.
- 1:47But around 4 pick one, I think he's the first guy off the board
- 1:49in day three. Congratulations for him.
- 1:51What else did we do? I think was going to happen.
- 1:53That happened. It was the Rams.
- 1:54How about that one? So as I said right here on this
- 1:57show, I just sit in the pocket, keep pick 13 pick Ty Simpson
- 2:01draft for the future. And guess what happened exactly
- 2:03that. Now I know we you guys had some
- 2:06absolute, absolute winners of like this is what should happen.
- 2:09And then it happened. We had we had some good takes on
- 2:11this show after the fact, looking back at our draft recap,
- 2:15stir our draft projection stuff, feel like we did a good job.
- 2:19Turns out we do know Ball after all.
- 2:21Avery, do you have any thoughts? No, I thought it was.
- 2:23I mean, I didn't think there were many surprises at all.
- 2:28Honestly. I don't know if that's just a
- 2:30testament to how thoroughly we went over the draft prospects
- 2:34and potential outcomes, but I was just in my mind thinking it
- 2:39would there would be a lot more trades or just wild picks, but
- 2:44there weren't. I mean, I guess part of that is
- 2:47usually when that stuff happens, there's some polarizing
- 2:51quarterback candidate, you know, some Johnny Menzel, Shudor
- 2:56Sanders type stuff going on. But we didn't have that this
- 2:59year. So maybe that's kind of the
- 3:00catalyst that a draft needs to have some wild stuff happen.
- 3:05I just don't think that I can ever really trust anything that
- 3:08these like professional reporters ever say again,
- 3:12because, and I think I texted this to you guys like the draft
- 3:15didn't go like that at all. Like they say they talk to all
- 3:18these teams and these teams are going to draft this guy and that
- 3:20team's going to draft that guy. But it didn't go like that at
- 3:23all. Like you've got everybody
- 3:24thought the Giants were going to draft Sonny Styles and then they
- 3:26end up drafting Arvel Reese instead.
- 3:28And then just everything from there, like who thought Kenyan
- 3:32Sadiq was going to The Jets? Not one person, not one person.
- 3:36So like everything these guys say, like they're informed, but
- 3:41then they're not really informed because what they say doesn't
- 3:44actually happen, so. Well, I have a feeling that, and
- 3:48again, I'm not in any of these rooms, but I have a feeling that
- 3:53there is a lot less. I don't, I don't want to say
- 3:56intentionality with these picks. I think there's a lot of teams
- 4:01that have owners or up or higher, just basically up the
- 4:05food chain, people that are making picks on a whim or gut
- 4:09call. You know, I'm just imagining
- 4:12some sort of Jerry Jones kind of thing.
- 4:13At least with him, he would kind of know who he wants the whole
- 4:16time. But you know, maybe a coach
- 4:18wanting a certain player and then the last minute the owner
- 4:21being like, Nah, I'm making an executive decision.
- 4:24We're taking this guy and then there's just some, you know that
- 4:28it is what it is. It's not like these are all
- 4:30just, you know, analytics. You got AWS drafting these, you
- 4:35know, these players, you know, these are humans, ego driven
- 4:39humans. So I think, you know, I, I, I do
- 4:42think the experts can have a pretty good read on like what a
- 4:46team should do, but there is also just that element of like,
- 4:49you know, luck. You don't know how these players
- 4:52are going to turn out. And so, you know, there is, you
- 4:55know, you are rolling the dice regardless.
- 4:58But yeah, there's, there's some, there's, there's people, and
- 5:01people aren't always smart or rational, so.
- 5:05True. All right, so now what I want to
- 5:08do is I want to talk about our team specifically to get things
- 5:11started here. And for this I thought it would
- 5:13be good to see what thoughts myself and Avery have about the
- 5:16Rams draft and then see how that compares to Will's thoughts.
- 5:20And then get Will's thoughts on the Buccaneers draft and then
- 5:22see how that compares to some of the thoughts that Avery and I
- 5:25have. So Will why don't you go first
- 5:27on this one? From a non Buccaneers fan, what
- 5:30do you think about the Buccaneers draft?
- 5:33I think they got good value for the people they got when they
- 5:37got them. I know this show also, I
- 5:40probably should say I've had no voice since Thursday, so it it
- 5:44comes and go. So just bear with me here.
- 5:45I know this show specifically has not been very high on Ruben
- 5:49Bain beginning the guy who at one point in this draft process
- 5:53was the was like the number. He was like, oh, this guy's
- 5:57number one pick hit Francis or Francis Francisco.
- 6:03If now I can't think he was actually named Fernando Mendoza.
- 6:06If he was not there, Ruben Bay would be #1 by far, no question.
- 6:10And as the process went on there, well, he's kind of got
- 6:13baby arms. Well, he's kind of got this well
- 6:16that. But still, he was regularly
- 6:18projected in the top 10 or to to Miami at 11 when they had 11
- 6:23still. And so for him to fall all the
- 6:25way to 15, I feel like that's really good value if nothing
- 6:28else for the Buccaneers, because that's kind of a spot where
- 6:32you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.
- 6:33I think that's all. Sorry, Dwayne, but I don't
- 6:35really that's the same. He knows what I mean.
- 6:38And so it's one of those you can't really trade out of it.
- 6:40You could have, but like where? What are you expecting to get
- 6:43out of it? It's a mid first round pick.
- 6:45Those are significantly less value than even like a big 10.
- 6:48And so drafting the best value guy, I like that a lot less
- 6:52needs they they had only now I was actually expecting them to
- 6:56go tight ends still with Sadiq still on the board there at 15.
- 7:00I I did actually think Sadiq was going there, but with Bain
- 7:03sitting there too, it's like, well, this guy, he was he's
- 7:07quite proven in college. He just doesn't have the NFL
- 7:11physical traits. So we'll see what we can do.
- 7:14So I don't I don't hate that. I kind of wish that he got tight
- 7:16end a bit sooner because it is one of their high needs.
- 7:18But you know, the Rams got off the tight ends, all of them.
- 7:21They just drafted every single time and it was unlatable.
- 7:23So I don't know that much about the the way that the players
- 7:27that were lost anything like that.
- 7:28No Mike Evans, but still, you had a good crew of wide
- 7:32receivers anyway. You also drafted the Georgia
- 7:34State receiver in the third round.
- 7:38So it's not like you didn't backfill needs.
- 7:40It's just a wait and see now. You did the best you could and
- 7:43put you had in the position you were in.
- 7:45Avery, do you want to go first or you want me to go first?
- 7:47I'll talk about what I thought about the Rams.
- 7:49No, no, no, no, no. What?
- 7:50What do you think about the Buccaneers draft?
- 7:52No, I want to talk about the No, I I thought it was good,
- 7:57honestly. I mean, there's other picks that
- 7:59I would have made, but also that was coming from a very, very
- 8:03biased, you know, point of view. Honestly.
- 8:05I do think that Ruben Bane, as much as we kind of harped on
- 8:08him, I think we were also talking from a position of, you
- 8:12know, him being, you know, like a top five pick.
- 8:15I think it kind of the same thing.
- 8:16I kind of see him the same way as kind of David Bailey where
- 8:18it's I just I I see them as very similar as far as just how if I
- 8:24would want them and I wouldn't really.
- 8:26But at that pick at 15, honestly I'm fine with it and it is
- 8:30probably what they need more than Kenyan Sidique anyways.
- 8:34I really like Josiah Trotter, Kiante Scott, Ted Hurst, I think
- 8:38those are all great picks. Honestly.
- 8:40There were other guys that I thought they could have gone
- 8:43with, but I don't think they messed up any of these picks.
- 8:46I think they could all work out really well.
- 8:48So overall I'm pretty happy. Yeah, I thought the Buccaneers
- 8:52had a really, really, really good draft.
- 8:55I admittedly wasn't the biggest fan of Ruben Bane throughout the
- 8:58draft process, but it's mostly because of the short arms thing.
- 9:01And I'm a statistical guy and so statistics like that, I just
- 9:06tend to believe that stuff because that's just the way that
- 9:08my mind works. But I actually think that Ruben
- 9:11Bayne is the perfect player for the Buccaneers.
- 9:13They got him with the 15th overall pick and getting the guy
- 9:16who many people had as the number one player in the draft
- 9:18of the 15th pick is incredible value on top of the value.
- 9:22They got a player out of position that was their biggest
- 9:24need heading into the draft. And then on top of addressing
- 9:27their biggest need, he fit what the Buccaneers said they wanted
- 9:30to do going into this draft, which was being more physical
- 9:33and violent on defense. And the physicality for Ruben
- 9:36Bayne was never the question. The Bucks wanted to change the
- 9:39attitude of their defense and drafting Ruben Bayne was the
- 9:42perfect way to start doing that and to make the pick even
- 9:45better. I didn't realize that Ruben
- 9:47Bayne had the perfect name to be a Tampa Bayne Buccaneer.
- 9:51It's destiny that he ended up with the Bucks.
- 9:54It's destiny. Man, that is the fastest homers
- 9:58flop I've ever heard. I hate this guy.
- 10:01You can't hug. Oh, he's on my team.
- 10:03We drafted. I love this guy.
- 10:05I loved him from the start. He's my boy.
- 10:08That's. What?
- 10:10That's what people do. What you're.
- 10:12Supposed to do, yeah. I disagree with you though.
- 10:16Anyways, just to to go back to their plan to be more physical
- 10:19and violent on defense and to go through some of the rest of
- 10:21these guys. They didn't just do it with
- 10:22Ruben Bayne, they did it with every defensive player that they
- 10:24drafted. So every single defensive player
- 10:26the Buccaneers drafted fit exactly what they said they
- 10:29wanted to do going into this draft.
- 10:31So they got Ruben Bayne. They got Josiah Trotter, who is
- 10:34an old school physical downhill run stopping linebacker who
- 10:38plays with a violent attitude that they were looking for.
- 10:41Then Kiante Scott who is team mates with Ruben Bayne at Miami.
- 10:44They paired them together and I think that's going to be really,
- 10:46really good for this defense. There were times where Miami
- 10:49would put Ruben Bayne on one side of the defensive line by
- 10:51himself with Kiante Scott at corner, and they dared teams to
- 10:56run at that side. They said go ahead, run over
- 10:59here. And when teams did it, it didn't
- 11:01go well for those teams because both Ruben Bayne and Kiante
- 11:04Scott are very, very good run defenders.
- 11:06The Buccaneers looked at that film and they said we didn't
- 11:09have anyone who could do that last year, so let's draft these
- 11:11guys together because they were the 2 best guys doing it
- 11:14together in college football last season.
- 11:17And then they drafted defensive tackle Demonte Capehart in the
- 11:20fifth round, which I think is going to be a great addition for
- 11:22the defensive line. His numbers don't jump off the
- 11:25page, but anyone who's judging that pick simply based off of
- 11:28his stats, I would highly encourage you to go back and
- 11:31watch the film of this guy. K Bart is a big physical
- 11:34interior defensive lineman with really good athletic profile and
- 11:38putting him in a rotation with Vida via a Sean Robinson, Kalija
- 11:41Kancy, plus having guys like Ruben Bain, Josiah Trotter, Alex
- 11:45and Zaloni, Alcudin Mohammed and Yaya Daabi.
- 11:48This front 7 is going to be a lot different than it was last
- 11:51year. It's going to bring a much
- 11:52different attitude than this defense had last year, which is
- 11:55really good because last year this defense was really bad.
- 11:59And so just all these changes that they made, the attitude is
- 12:02different, the physicality is different, They're more violent
- 12:05on defense. It's going to look a lot
- 12:06different than it did last year. And so to me, what they did
- 12:09specifically defensively in this draft, I think was an A+.
- 12:14Love it. Well, let's move over to the
- 12:16Rams. Avery, do you want to start on
- 12:17this one? Give us some thoughts on the
- 12:20Rams draft? Yeah, I.
- 12:24Maybe this is misplaced trust, but I am buying into that online
- 12:29narrative that McVeigh did not want Ty Simpson.
- 12:34And he did not at all. And I was, I was on the fence
- 12:39about it. But what really solidified my
- 12:43belief that he did not want Ty Simpson was the following press
- 12:47conference where he tried to walk it back or just say like,
- 12:51no, do you think I'm mad? Like, no, we're good buddies.
- 12:54We're. This is all great.
- 12:56This is just my demeanor, like, OK, yeah, He he did not want,
- 13:00no. Did you know he also, he also
- 13:02went on with Peter Schrager and I don't remember who else was on
- 13:05there during day three of the draft.
- 13:07And they were talking to Sean McVay at some point during day
- 13:10three. And he they basically asked him
- 13:12the same question. Like you were visibly upset when
- 13:17that happened and they were asking about it like what was
- 13:19going through your mind? What was going on?
- 13:21And he basically said the exact same thing in a nicer way.
- 13:26Yeah, I. He he didn't want Ty Simpson at
- 13:28all. The thing is, is I.
- 13:32Phone call is is that where where are we touching on?
- 13:34Is a phone. Call when.
- 13:35Les Schneed handed him the phone.
- 13:37No, that's, I mean, I guess that's part of it, but that's
- 13:40not the actual reason. It's the actual press conference
- 13:43where he's just, I mean, you could see him visibly
- 13:46uncomfortable and frustrated. And the and The thing is, it
- 13:49would be one thing if it was like, oh, I'm just trying to
- 13:52read his body language. But it's like, OK, like I'm
- 13:57getting a little ahead of myself here.
- 13:58But I have them. I have the Rams as one of my
- 14:01losers of the draft for this one pick for this reason.
- 14:05And the second one, you're tied in your 6th tight end.
- 14:08I just feel like, OK, I thought the Rams were in win it now mode
- 14:13like K, Matt Stafford just won the MVP.
- 14:17You really do realistically have at least another two years with
- 14:21Stafford unless he just wants to hang it up and be a family man.
- 14:23But you are in win it now mode and for your first pick, 13
- 14:28picks in, you go with a backup quarterback.
- 14:32I just, I feel like, K, are we it, it feels like we're trying
- 14:37to have our cake cake and eat it too.
- 14:40Like are we trying to rebuild for the future?
- 14:43We trying to win it now. Like what is it?
- 14:45And it feels like the front office and the coaches aren't on
- 14:49the same page. It feels like there is just
- 14:51some, some stretching, some pulling going on there.
- 14:56Just different, I don't know, different intentions, different
- 15:01motivations, different directions.
- 15:03It just, I don't, I, I thought that was such a waste of a peg,
- 15:09even though we'll called it and he saw it coming.
- 15:11I just feel like, dude, a backup quarterback right now.
- 15:15Right now. We went with a backup
- 15:16quarterback talking about practice.
- 15:21I didn't like it at all. Joel, go ahead.
- 15:24So I agree with Avery, but I also disagree with Avery.
- 15:28I think the Rams are both winners and losers of the NFL
- 15:30draft. I think they're losers because
- 15:32they had this luxury pick where they could have selected whoever
- 15:35they felt like was the best available player and add them to
- 15:38a roster that is built to compete right now for the Super
- 15:41Bowl. But instead they drafted Ty
- 15:43Simpson, who best case scenario doesn't play one single snap for
- 15:47the Rams this year. Before the draft, you had Rams
- 15:49fans talking about Mackay, Lemon, Jordan, Tyson, Kenyon,
- 15:53Sadiq, adding those guys to a stacked offense and imagining
- 15:56all the possibilities that came with that.
- 15:58And it just came out to be a quarterback who's going to sit
- 16:00and do nothing for at least a year.
- 16:02Sean McVay was visibly upset, obviously upset with the pic
- 16:06because he wanted more firepower.
- 16:07He's focused on winning the Super Bowl this year.
- 16:10Right now. He doesn't care about next year.
- 16:12He cares about winning right now.
- 16:14And Ty Simpson doesn't help him do that.
- 16:16So throw that in with them adding their 37th tied end to
- 16:19the roster, and it just doesn't make sense for winning right
- 16:22now. However, I think the Rams also
- 16:25are winners because they made moves that help them in the
- 16:27future. Drafting Ty Simpson doesn't help
- 16:29you now, but it will help you down the road when you don't
- 16:32have Matthew Stafford anymore. Drafting Max Claire may not make
- 16:35sense now, but it does make sense for the future because the
- 16:38Rams have a couple of tight end contracts that expire after this
- 16:40season and the tight end position in Mcveigh's offense is
- 16:43not easy to learn. Just look at how long it took
- 16:45Terrence Ferguson to get on the field last year.
- 16:47So drafting Claire allows them to let him sit and learn and
- 16:51then come in next year when he knows how to play in that
- 16:53offense. And then drafting a 25 year old
- 16:55offensive tackle may not look good to some people because he's
- 16:5825. But the Rams have several
- 17:00offensive line contracts that are up at the end of this
- 17:02season, and now they have a guy who can step in and be a starter
- 17:05for them right away when a spot opens for him.
- 17:08So based off how you look at it, I think the Rams can be seen as
- 17:11both winners and losers of the draft.
- 17:14Just losers will go ahead. It's.
- 17:16My turn now. It's my turn now.
- 17:18I understand both sides of that argument.
- 17:22It would have would have been nice to have say Makai Lemon.
- 17:24Sure. If Makai Lemon or any other
- 17:28starting receiver or first round receiver you get, the best case
- 17:31scenario is you get your #3 receiver on your team, right?
- 17:35That's best case scenario because you still have new cool
- 17:38and you still have Devonte Adams.
- 17:40So you are either drafting a #3 receiver who maybe they will,
- 17:47maybe they won't pan out or you're drafting a backup
- 17:49quarterback to learn under the current best quarterback in NFL,
- 17:54right? And William VP in that position
- 17:57maybe the best in that position, it's arguable.
- 17:59Changes every year. It does change every year,
- 18:01right? I don't disagree with that.
- 18:02So you draft the guy to come in and sit behind and learn.
- 18:06Do you hit it right in the head with the fact that they've got
- 18:092? I think we're going to my depth
- 18:11chart here. I think it is Parkinson and
- 18:15Higbee both their contracts are up at the end of this year and
- 18:19they're I don't think they re sign them.
- 18:20They just let him walk. And so you still have Ferguson
- 18:23and you and then you bring in Max Claire to learn the system.
- 18:26And now you've got you got your Higbee and Parkinson next year
- 18:30as Claire and Ferguson. So you've got your pieces and
- 18:36this roster they had last year, now that not every piece of that
- 18:39roster they had last year came back.
- 18:40Obviously that's not the way. That's not the way that works in
- 18:43professional sports. The drafts they had last year
- 18:45was a few plays away from making the Super Bowl.
- 18:48And I think whoever, whatever NFC team goes to that Super Bowl
- 18:52ends up winning it. And So what they did is instead
- 18:54of having to to fill those needs in the draft, they went in a
- 18:58free agency and then fill them there with Jenna Watson and
- 19:02Trent Mcduffie. And so they were able to say,
- 19:05hey, let's actually draft for the future.
- 19:07We have the team, they got us a few plays away last year.
- 19:11Let's make moves so we don't just get back next year because
- 19:15we're already going to do that. Let's make moves to make sure we
- 19:17can get back in three years. Let's make sure we make can make
- 19:19moves so we can get back in five years.
- 19:22And so they haven't seemed to win right now.
- 19:24They already had that before they walked into the draft
- 19:27making the trades. They only made what, 5 picks, 6
- 19:30picks, 12345. They made 5 picks.
- 19:33And with that, they got the quarterback in the future.
- 19:35They got their Next up tight end.
- 19:38They got the highest graded offensive tackle in all of
- 19:41college about last year. He's just 25.
- 19:43So we slipped all the way to the third round.
- 19:45They got a receiver who made Carson Beckman look good.
- 19:49So let's just go ahead and remember that.
- 19:50And then they got Tim Keenan in the seventh round and that was a
- 19:55good thing. That is a good thing.
- 19:57He's just he himself is a bit undersized and so we'll see what
- 20:01happens. He's not a.
- 20:03He's not a numbers guy. He's a do The Dirty work kind of
- 20:06guy. And in the seventh round, that's
- 20:08exactly the guy you want. You and the guy who's going to
- 20:10come out there and challenge your starting squad every single
- 20:14day in practice and make them better.
- 20:16I love what the Rams did the same way as you loves what the
- 20:19Bucks did. I love it so much.
- 20:22Yeah, I know. I'm high on life right now,
- 20:23right. Every team should be doing this.
- 20:25Every single team should be doing this.
- 20:27I would imagine Minnesota Vikings fans are jumping on
- 20:30couches Tom Cruise style. Overcame the banks right now.
- 20:34We got to go. I we got him.
- 20:36This is so great. Well, maybe not all of them, but
- 20:38some of them are for sure doing that.
- 20:40We'll get his foot fixed. It could be the best defensive
- 20:42tackle there is. I would expect everyone to be
- 20:44doing that. Joel's over here.
- 20:46Short arms. Who cares?
- 20:47Who cares about his short arms? He plays physical, whatever,
- 20:50doesn't matter. So I don't know.
- 20:51I'm, I'm real positive about it. I'm really happy about it.
- 20:54All right, well, let's talk about some teams who aren't our
- 20:56teams that we feel won and lost the NFL draft.
- 20:59And so we'll start with the winners who would like to go
- 21:02first. I'll.
- 21:03Go first, let's see which one. I didn't rank them.
- 21:08I'm talking about there are two teams that I picked that I did
- 21:12not want to pick for my winners. But then I saw who they picked
- 21:16and I'm like, OK is. One of them the Eagles.
- 21:20Is what isn't The Jets? OK, why don't you guys stop
- 21:23trying to get spoilers here? Is that really who they are?
- 21:28No, Philadelphia. Philadelphia would.
- 21:31They would have been my 4th winner.
- 21:34I really liked what they did. Yes, one of them is The Jets.
- 21:38I have them on my list as. Well I also I also have them on
- 21:41my it makes. Me so mad because it's The Jets
- 21:44and they're just going to fumble it the entire time.
- 21:47OK, then I'll pick a different team right now.
- 21:49One of you guys talk about them. This is this is a wild 1.
- 21:51I don't think any of you have it.
- 21:53Who is it? The Tennessee Titans.
- 21:57Oh. I really liked their picks.
- 22:02I thought Carnell Tate, even though he was the second option
- 22:05on his college team, went off the board 4th.
- 22:09But so was Jackson Smith and Jigpa.
- 22:12It was also the second option. Carnell Tate.
- 22:15I like that they gave Cam Ward another option.
- 22:18I've always liked Keldrick Falk. I thought that was pretty sweet
- 22:23that he they were able to get him at the bottom of the first
- 22:26round. That was great.
- 22:27Anthony Hill, Junior still around got him.
- 22:32I don't they got some great pieces there.
- 22:33They got another guard out of Arkansas.
- 22:36Basically every every time I saw them pick, I thought it was
- 22:38great. We will see how these picks pan
- 22:40out. I guess that Carnell Tate, I
- 22:43mean, he'll really need to really show out to show if that
- 22:48was actually good value or not because the 4th pick is a is
- 22:52mighty high. But I really liked, I really
- 22:56liked what they did. Yeah, I like Carnell Tate a lot,
- 22:59but I didn't think he was good enough to be the 4th overall
- 23:02pick in the draft. That's my only thing.
- 23:03I like him, but I don't think it was good value to pick him at #4
- 23:08because there was still a lot of really good defensive players on
- 23:10the board at that point. So I don't know if it was the
- 23:13right pick. I get they need a receiver, but
- 23:15I don't know if let's just say that's not the way that I would
- 23:18have gone if it was me. I also I realized like hey if
- 23:21Carnell take goes at 4 does that mean that Jeremiah Smith is a
- 23:24lock top three pick? He has to be right.
- 23:27Oh, he's locked. Number he's locked #2 pick in my
- 23:30opinion. Like top two who I mean or are
- 23:33you saying I'm sure or do you know who someone who'd be 1A
- 23:36quarterback? I'm some.
- 23:37Quarterback, I'm sure somebody's going to draft Dante Moore #2
- 23:41and make a stupid decision. But yeah, if it was me, I don't
- 23:45think I'm taking a quarterback. Just looking at which
- 23:48quarterbacks are in the 2027 draft.
- 23:50I don't think I'm. Taking a quarterback at #2 like
- 23:53the number one pick is going to be a quarterback, but if I'm at
- 23:56#2 I'm not taking the quarterback.
- 23:59No, Yeah, yeah. And.
- 24:00Maybe that could change based off of how the quarterbacks play
- 24:02this next season, but just as of right now at #2 I would not take
- 24:06a quarterback, I would take Jeremiah Smith.
- 24:08Yeah. Basically though.
- 24:10Going back to Tennessee, I thought I felt like Keldrick
- 24:12Falk and Anthony Hill Junior were both should have been first
- 24:16round guys. So the fact that they were able
- 24:18to get both of them essentially after the first round, I mean, I
- 24:22know the, you know, 31st peg, I mean, that's basically the end
- 24:25of the first round anyways. But I really like both those
- 24:28guys. I was surprised they got them.
- 24:30Good for them, good for them. All right, Will, who do you have
- 24:34as an NFL draft winner? I will take The Jets.
- 24:37The only thing I would do differently about The Jets draft
- 24:39is more secondary because they had 0 interceptions last year as
- 24:43a whole team. Zero.
- 24:44And that's really bad. And you just traded away Sauce
- 24:46Gardner and your defense didn't get better, your team didn't get
- 24:49better. I like what they did overall.
- 24:51David Bailey bringing in are going to be the best edge rusher
- 24:53in the draft into your team, getting him in there to make a
- 24:57difference and hopefully that way your secondary doesn't have
- 25:00to cover as long. Getting Siddiq in the first
- 25:02round, bringing back in the Omar Cooper in the first round and
- 25:05then not that deep into the second round.
- 25:07You're looking at the end of their pawns.
- 25:09I really like that they went out and they addressed heavy needs
- 25:12and that Aaron Glenn is his name is that's the coach I can I can
- 25:17remember things. Aaron Lynn went out there and
- 25:19said, hey, look, I may have been sleeping during the combine, but
- 25:22my opinion didn't matter anyway. I was like waiting for my scouts
- 25:24anyway. And so they drafted all these
- 25:27guys and Aaron Clinton's always had a good defense.
- 25:29And so they went out there a bunch of offensive guys with
- 25:31their with their second pick, their third pick and their
- 25:35second fourth round pick have some offensive line help as well
- 25:38in the end there. But they didn't leave the
- 25:39defense alone. The hey, let's keep making this
- 25:41better as well. I think they drafted really well
- 25:44for their team needs and then the showcase.
- 25:47Truly, I think the best part to me is then making moves to get
- 25:51back into the first round. Hey, let's go get another guy.
- 25:54Let's get another guy. He's get 3 picks in the first
- 25:56round and should do our thing and and get all of the picks.
- 26:00I thought that was great for them.
- 26:01It really should be a large amount of hope for the future of
- 26:06their team. There's like, hey, we're trying.
- 26:09We're actually trying to be better.
- 26:11Yeah, it just feels weird to say that The Jets were winners of
- 26:14the draft. But I think The Jets were
- 26:16winners of the draft because I felt like The Jets did a really
- 26:18good job of building their team so that next year when they most
- 26:22likely select a quarterback, they might actually have a team
- 26:25that can support a rookie quarterback.
- 26:27And on top of that, they've already set themselves up to
- 26:30have a really good 2027 draft because they already have 3
- 26:33first round picks. The trajectory of The Jets has
- 26:35been going down for like 15 years, but I think it's finally
- 26:39starting to go back up. It just seems a little bit
- 26:42different than what we've seen from The Jets teams in the past.
- 26:46And you know, maybe when they get out on the field, it's still
- 26:49the same. Maybe it's still the same as it
- 26:51has been because you've got Geno Smith's quarterback, but it just
- 26:54feels like The Jets made moves that can actually put them in a
- 26:58position in the future to win once they get the right
- 27:01quarterback. They're not going to put a
- 27:02quarterback in a situation now with a just a absolutely garbage
- 27:07team. It feels like this team could
- 27:09actually support a rookie quarterback, especially after
- 27:12they draft 1 and have two additional picks in next year's
- 27:15draft. So I really, really like what
- 27:17The Jets did. With all that being said, if
- 27:19you're a Jets fan, expect another five win season, 4 win
- 27:23season. Yeah, you should still expect
- 27:26it. You're.
- 27:27Bringing Geno Smith this year. Geno Smith is fine, but the
- 27:32Raiders finished with the number one pick this year.
- 27:34Let's not discount that. So don't think that this draft
- 27:39is going to change the immediate trajectory of your future.
- 27:43Your team is still going to be bad.
- 27:45Yes, I agree. But I like, I like where they're
- 27:48headed though. I like where they're headed.
- 27:50All right, so for my winner of the draft, I'm going to go with
- 27:53an individual player as a winner of the draft.
- 27:56My biggest individual, No, not TA Simpson.
- 28:00My biggest individual winner of the draft is Kaden McDonald.
- 28:04He was invited to be in the green room, but then he didn't
- 28:07get picked in the first round. Well, the commissioner invited
- 28:09him back to the green room for Day 2 and instead of getting
- 28:12upset that he wasn't a first round pick, he handled it like a
- 28:15true professional and he came back to the green room to hear
- 28:18his name called on Day 2 when the Texans selected him.
- 28:21You could just tell how grateful he was to be a part of the NFL.
- 28:25He's crying in the green room. He's crying walking down the
- 28:27tunnel. He's crying while he hugs the
- 28:29commissioner. And you know, a lot of players
- 28:31do that. But then after that, he went
- 28:33down where the Texans fans were in the crowd and he started
- 28:36celebrating with them. They were cheering.
- 28:38They were jumping up and down. And it was just a cool moment to
- 28:41see. The Texans fans already love
- 28:43this guy, and when they see what he's going to do for their
- 28:45defense, they're going to love him even more.
- 28:47The Texans added a great player, and I think he's also a great
- 28:50person. I already thought Kate McDonald
- 28:52was great when I watched him on film, and then I thought he was
- 28:55even better when he commented on our Instagram post.
- 28:57And now I think he's one of my favorite players in the entire
- 28:59league. And he hasn't even played a snap
- 29:00yet. So I think Kate McDonald is the
- 29:04best individual winner of the 2026 NFL Draft.
- 29:08Well, for any NFL player who's watching, if it's not abundantly
- 29:13clear what you have to do to your biggest fan.
- 29:21I just comment on the post. That's all you got to do.
- 29:24And literally this is all it was.
- 29:25It was just this. All you have to do is just post
- 29:27an emoji. Just comment to an emoji and
- 29:29I'll love you. I was shocked when Kayla Banks
- 29:31was drafted by the by the Vikings and Kate McDonald was
- 29:35still on the board. And then Peter Woods went to the
- 29:38Chiefs and Kate McDonald was still on the board.
- 29:40I was like, what are we doing? Why are we not taking the best
- 29:42available guy? Why do we draft the other
- 29:44people? I mean, what what is going on
- 29:46here? Caleb Banks isn't even going to
- 29:47be able to play this year and he broke his foot during the
- 29:50combine. Like what, What is happening?
- 29:53What are we doing? But yeah, I think it was great.
- 29:55Him, him falling to day 2 was a travesty.
- 29:57But I, I love the positive outlook of it.
- 30:00Now, historically, I do want my defensive tackles to be a bit
- 30:05more gritty, be a bit more rugged.
- 30:08But you know what? The, the immediate excitement
- 30:11and the ready to work attitude there.
- 30:13I, I, I agree with you. I loved it a lot.
- 30:15You also. Want your defensive tackles to
- 30:17get 60 plus tackles in a season? So there's that.
- 30:22All right, Avery, take us through another winner.
- 30:24I got the Browns. For the second year in a row.
- 30:27Did I give them last time too? Oh, yeah, we had them.
- 30:31Now that I'm thinking about who they had, yeah.
- 30:34I mean, hey, you can keep, you can be back-to-back winners in
- 30:37the draft and just never win anything in the regular season.
- 30:42You couldn't. You can.
- 30:42It's always allowed. No, I thought, I thought getting
- 30:46Spencer Fano, Fano was favorite guy.
- 30:51Yeah, I thought it was a solid pick, but I thought being able
- 30:55to grab KC and Denzel, that's going to be a fun duo to watch
- 31:00with whoever they got at quarterback.
- 31:02But I thought having 10 picks in general was a lot of fun.
- 31:06I'd I feel like in general, it's just fun to watch a team draft
- 31:09any time I play franchise mode or well, really just franchise
- 31:13mode, I guess. I always love having a lot of
- 31:15picks and they got some fun players.
- 31:18I think the Browns are doing Browns things, picking up some
- 31:21exciting players and it will translate to, you know, Real
- 31:26Housewives of Cleveland in the fall.
- 31:28So I'm very excited. They also drafted Justin
- 31:32Jefferson, so there's that. It's a big win.
- 31:35They did. Yeah.
- 31:36I saw that. Justin Jefferson now in
- 31:38Cleveland. Brown.
- 31:39Love that. No, like you can switch teams in
- 31:41the draft but you have to switch positions.
- 31:44Malayoka. All right, well, take us through
- 31:46another winner of the NFL draft. Oh, sure.
- 31:49I was going to talk about the Browns more, but hey, that's we,
- 31:52we don't need to do that, OK? Talk about the Browns more.
- 31:56Well, I was just going to agree with Avery and and I'm really
- 31:58excited. In fact, they got Emmanuel
- 32:00Warren in the second round there.
- 32:02I feel like that's they got some good value and they it's very
- 32:05possible that they actually made the right picks this year.
- 32:07Not big on Fano, Fano. I've also heard Fano I.
- 32:14Man. The amount of ways I've heard
- 32:16this four letter name said is crazy.
- 32:19Not a friend of him, but hey, you know what, I could be wrong,
- 32:23right? That happens.
- 32:25So yeah, that like what they had going on.
- 32:26I'm going to go with, and you guys might disagree with us.
- 32:29I'm going to go with the Dallas Cowboys as winners this year.
- 32:34I don't. Disagree with that?
- 32:36Actually, a lot of people are confused, I guess they, they
- 32:41don't understand why you would move up from 12 to 11.
- 32:44Like like what you're giving up to move up just one single spot
- 32:48is going to be more more than you should be because you want
- 32:51to get your player right now. But the fact that Caleb Downs
- 32:54was still there, First off, it legitimately pisses me off that
- 32:58he was still on the board at 11. But the fact that they Dallas
- 33:02made the did the anti Jerry thing and acted quickly on
- 33:07anything and said, hey, you know what, let's get that guy.
- 33:10That guy is one of the best players in this entire draft.
- 33:12I think he was #1 in our board. And and so excuse me, was this
- 33:16styles first? Styles Yeah, Caleb Downs was
- 33:19originally 1st and then we moved Styles up.
- 33:21So they got like a cornerstone piece of like their entire team
- 33:26that they they can have back there.
- 33:28Dallas has perpetually needed secondary help, much like most
- 33:31teams. But like it has been the, it has
- 33:33been a long time coming for Dallas, their secondary.
- 33:36And if they they made the right move in the first round to do it
- 33:39and then they got do they drafted 3 different edge rushers
- 33:43in this draft throughout the entire thing felt like they made
- 33:45a lot of moves that made a lot of sense for Dallas right now.
- 33:48They and they were able to keep George Pickens.
- 33:51There's a lot of speculation that they were, they were sure a
- 33:55lot of speculation they would have to get rid of him to do
- 33:58anything to to move around to do this, to do that.
- 34:01They didn't have to do that. So they're keeping their offense
- 34:03together for the most part, and they're building a good defense.
- 34:06I feel like Dallas are going to be a lot better this year coming
- 34:08up than they were last year. Yeah, I agree and I want to
- 34:11stay. While we're talking about the
- 34:13Caleb Downs thing, I want to stay on this topic.
- 34:15This is actually a loser of the draft that I have, but we'll I
- 34:19have another winner, but we'll come back to that later.
- 34:21The Miami Dolphins lost the NFL Draft and it's not because of
- 34:24who they picked, but because of who they didn't pick.
- 34:27They had Caleb Downs fall into their lap and instead of picking
- 34:31who many thought was the number one player in the draft, they
- 34:33traded the pick and instead selected Kaden Proctor at pick
- 34:3612. I like Kaden Proctor, but
- 34:39picking him at 12 was a reach and it just looks really bad
- 34:42because you had Caleb Downs. Had the Dolphins pick Downs at
- 34:4511, they could have ended up with a defensive haul of Caleb
- 34:48Downs, Chris Johnson, Jacob Rodriguez, Kyle Lewis, and more.
- 34:52I just don't understand why they would pass on Caleb Downs.
- 34:55Overall, I really like the players they got, but but that
- 34:58one move to not pick downs will be the move that they look back
- 35:00on in a few years and regret. It just wasn't a smart move and
- 35:04it was surprising because Jeff Hathaway is a defensive head
- 35:06coach. A defensive head coach passes on
- 35:08possibly the best defensive player in the draft.
- 35:10I just don't get it. I don't know what the Dolphins
- 35:13are doing. Why would you give up Caleb
- 35:14Downs when he falls right into your lap so you can pick up two
- 35:18extra fifth round picks? I don't get it.
- 35:20I don't understand what they're doing.
- 35:22The Dolphins lost to me the big time.
- 35:24I agree, I thought it was. Ridiculous.
- 35:28I also am confused at who Malik was supposed to throw the
- 35:30football too. I always expect we're on the
- 35:33Dolphins now. I had them as a loser too, so
- 35:34let's just RIP them apart. Same I had I don't.
- 35:39They got Caleb Douglas out of Texas Tech in the third round,
- 35:42they are Chris Bell unbelievable in the third round.
- 35:46They got Kevin Coleman junior out of Missouri in the fifth
- 35:48round. They drafted 2 Titans as well in
- 35:51there, but that's, I mean great. I just who?
- 35:56You brought in Malik Willis to run your team, who's he throwing
- 36:00the ball to at what? What do you have offensively
- 36:04that is going to work? You drafted Kaden Proctor,
- 36:06that's great. But on the board still at that
- 36:09point in history, I mean, Sadiq was still there.
- 36:12Mccalemon was still Reuben. Bain.
- 36:15Reuben Bain doesn't solve the problem they.
- 36:18Doesn't solve the receiver problem, but it helps.
- 36:20You want they just need talent anywhere.
- 36:23You're right. That's why.
- 36:25That's why I hate them giving up on Caleb Downs.
- 36:28Why would you do that? Yeah, it doesn't make any sense
- 36:31to me. Probably did hate him, probably
- 36:33decided that he was not what he reads like that can't do it.
- 36:36I just they're they're drafted so many picks and I just don't I
- 36:40don't really like what they did with their picks available
- 36:44overall. Chris Johnson.
- 36:46Reached to me, if they would have picked Downs, I probably
- 36:49would have them as a winner because you get Downs, Chris
- 36:51Johnson and Jacob Rodriguez. And I think those three pieces
- 36:54on defense would have been great for you moving forward.
- 36:56And I like Chris Johnson. We like him a lot more than Will
- 36:58does. And I love Jacob Rodriguez
- 37:00probably more than Will does. But just if you had Caleb Downs,
- 37:04Chris Johnson and Jacob Rodriguez on your defense, that
- 37:08would be awesome for you in the future, like 2-3 years down the
- 37:11road. That would be awesome for your
- 37:13defense. I just don't get what the
- 37:15Dolphins are doing. Yeah.
- 37:17Anyways, let's go back to the winners.
- 37:19Avery, I think you have one more, right?
- 37:22Nope. Tennessee Jets.
- 37:24Browns. Oh, OK, will do.
- 37:27You have and. Then I guess Philadelphia I I
- 37:28like what Philadelphia did. They weren't one of my 3.
- 37:30But we don't. We don't need to talk about
- 37:32them. Agreed.
- 37:34I just had the 2. OK, well I have one more winner.
- 37:37I think the Colts were winners of the draft because of what
- 37:40they did with no first round pick.
- 37:42The first pick they had was at 53rd overall and their second
- 37:45pick was 78th overall. And with those two picks, they
- 37:48got CJ Allen and AJ Halsey, who I both think were steals for
- 37:52where they were drafted. We had CJ Allen ranked as a 23rd
- 37:55overall player on our big board, and the Colts picked him at 53.
- 37:59And we didn't talk about AJ Halsey on the show, but I ended
- 38:02up sliding him into the top 50 without talking to you guys
- 38:05because when I watched AJ Halsey's tape, I put him in the
- 38:08top 50 because I thought he was too good to not be on that list.
- 38:11And the Colts got him at pick 78.
- 38:13CJ Allen and AJ Halsey are far more talented than where they
- 38:16were drafted and the Colts got some absolute steals with these
- 38:19guys. And then we can't forget to talk
- 38:21about Bryce Becher here because I think the Colts got a really
- 38:23good player with him as well. I'm willing to bet that Bryce
- 38:26Becher will be a starter within two years for the Colts.
- 38:29He'll start on special teams and he'll quickly work his way up
- 38:31the depth chart because he just gives you everything he has on
- 38:35every single play. So what the Colts you're able to
- 38:37do without a first round pick was really impressive to me.
- 38:39And so I think they were big winners coming out of the draft.
- 38:42Avery, did you want to talk about Bryce Becher?
- 38:44Part of the Caucasian collision unit.
- 38:47I wish. I wish we would have seen him
- 38:49end up on the same team, I really do.
- 38:50Yeah, it's too bad none of the Oregon players ended up on the
- 38:54same team. I also think it's ironic that
- 38:57Malik Benson, who got beat by Mendoza twice last year, is now
- 39:04going to be catching passes from him, assuming he, you know,
- 39:07breaks through the depth chart. But but yeah, I think Batcher, I
- 39:11think it's exciting. I think he'll do great.
- 39:13So good for him. All right, let's move on to the
- 39:16losers. Will, who do you have as one of
- 39:18your NFL draft losers? I mean, let's just start with
- 39:21the Vikings. Let's just start with them, OK?
- 39:24Drafting Caleb Banks at 18 is the reason why, like the
- 39:27predominant reason I have them as a loser.
- 39:30This guy broke his foot last year, projected to have surgery,
- 39:33and he re broke it again at the combine.
- 39:35And this is the same reason, the literal same reason, that
- 39:40Drummond McCoy fell to the fourth round.
- 39:44This guy is injury prone. The difference is, is that Caleb
- 39:48Banks was trying to play through it and trying to make an effort
- 39:50through it where drama McCoy has visually not.
- 39:54I don't hate anyone drafting Caleb Banks.
- 39:57I do hate it in the first round. Still on the board in order of
- 40:00rankings via a third party websites.
- 40:04Kate McDonald, Peter Woods, Lee Hunter, Dante Corleone,
- 40:09Dominique Horn, Darrell Jackson, Demonte Capehart.
- 40:11I could keep going. Chris McAllen, Skyler.
- 40:14Girl, you could have just all these guys.
- 40:15You could have just all these guys.
- 40:17All of you guys ranked higher. Still on the board when this
- 40:23even has Tim Keenan ranked higher than Caleb Banks
- 40:26specifically because Caleb Banks is hurt and he is will be hurt
- 40:30for a long time and he's not going to be back this year.
- 40:34He had Kendall Banks is a big man at pause for me, 6 foot 6
- 40:42foot 6 foot six, 330 lbs. That's not just going to heal
- 40:46quickly, especially if it goes non weight bearing.
- 40:49It's as soon as you start to put weight back on it.
- 40:52The amount of weight is immense. It's it's incredible.
- 40:55It's huge. Your body, especially the part
- 40:59you stand down on your body it it requires time to heal and I
- 41:03just drafting that guy in the first round, you must have seen
- 41:07something everybody else did not.
- 41:08I could not tell you anything about the rest of their picks,
- 41:11but they did also draft Dominique Orange in the third
- 41:14round. They said they saw checks out.
- 41:19They saw that they're going to have to they're if they need a
- 41:22defensive time to play this year.
- 41:24We can't rely on our first round picks.
- 41:25Let's draft another one. So I just don't understand it.
- 41:30There was other weapons on the board.
- 41:31They had needs they didn't fill. I mean, they had, they were wide
- 41:34receivers still on the board at that point.
- 41:36All of them were still, all of them, but still good wide
- 41:39receivers on the board at that point.
- 41:40There was still so much talent available and ready, like how
- 41:44limits hadn't come off the board yet.
- 41:46There was just so much there they could have done with that
- 41:48pick and then didn't. I'm just disappointed with the
- 41:52Vikings. You've got short stuff and can't
- 41:54throw a football, but you didn't bring in any actual help.
- 41:57And yes, you've got Justin Jefferson, but if you think he's
- 41:59going to be the same guy with those two back there as he is,
- 42:02even with all I can do is case came and that's not the guy who
- 42:06was there before JJ McCarthy. Sam Darnold.
- 42:09Yes, Darnold, thank you. Yeah, if you think he's the same
- 42:12guy as Donald, it's just not going to be good.
- 42:15Justin Jefferson Minnesota not have just drafted man my
- 42:22thoughts are going doesn't matter.
- 42:24I just think that there there was so much more they could have
- 42:27done to actually help the team. I think this is a worse pick on
- 42:31individual grade basis. This is a worse based in the
- 42:34Rams taking Kai Simpson because either way that your best case
- 42:39scenario is your first round pick does not play this year and
- 42:42you could have done something better with to help your team
- 42:44win right now overall. Like if you look at the picks
- 42:47after Caleb Banks, I think it's a decent draft, but just
- 42:50drafting Caleb Banks that high was just a reach, right?
- 42:53Avery, who do you have as one of your NFL draft losers?
- 42:56I have an individual and therefore a team.
- 43:00The team is the New England Patriots and the man is Mike
- 43:05Frabel. Does this have to do with this
- 43:07scandal? Yes, yes, that is yes.
- 43:10That is entirely the reason. I think it's wild that it's
- 43:12going on right now. I don't even know how involved
- 43:15he was in the draft. I think it creates a massive
- 43:18distraction. It's clearly not going away.
- 43:20It's only building momentum and I feel bad for every single
- 43:22rookie that got drafted there because they are just being born
- 43:27into that. It's like, it's like being born
- 43:29and seeing your parents, like already arguing and getting a
- 43:32divorce. It's like, Yikes, like this is
- 43:35what I get born into. I think it's a rough situation.
- 43:39I think it's going to be very, very, very detrimental to that
- 43:42team. And honestly, it's very little.
- 43:45I'm not a big fan of Caleb Lomu, but the rest of them are
- 43:49probably fine gentlemen. I just feel like this is really,
- 43:53really bad. I think it's interesting that
- 43:55this whatever New York Post article has done more damage to
- 43:58the Patriots than The Jets or Giants they'd ever do to them.
- 44:02They're one of my losers. All right, for one of my losers
- 44:06at the NFL draft, I'm going with the Arizona Cardinals.
- 44:10I just don't understand what the Cardinals are doing.
- 44:12They took Jeremiah Love with the number three overall pick, which
- 44:15makes no sense for where this team is right now.
- 44:17This is going to be like a Saquon Barkley situation.
- 44:20You take the shiny new toy because it's shiny, but because
- 44:22the rest of the team is terrible, it's not going to
- 44:24amount to anything. And what's crazy about this
- 44:27move, too, is that the Cardinals will have over $60 million tied
- 44:30up in their running backroom. That's just not a recipe for
- 44:33success. But what's worse than that is
- 44:35taking Carson Beck with the first pick in the third round.
- 44:38The guy that they actually wanted was gone.
- 44:40So they reach for a different quarterback who's either going
- 44:42to sit and do nothing or play and do nothing because the team
- 44:45is terrible. I understand that they need a
- 44:47quarterback, but there were much better players on the board they
- 44:50could have picked to build the overall roster instead of
- 44:53picking a quarterback who's not going to do anything.
- 44:56I will say that the Chase Basantis pick in the second
- 44:58round was a really good pick to boost their offensive line, but
- 45:01overall I just don't get what the Cardinals are doing.
- 45:04I agree completely. I think what happened was, is
- 45:07that no one wanted to trade up to #3 I think that they, the
- 45:13Cardinals, tried to trade out of it.
- 45:15There was too many stories for them not to be trying to trade
- 45:18out of that pick. Too many times it came up that
- 45:21they were trying to and so nobody wanted it because they're
- 45:24like, well, I mean, I know I could probably get the same guy
- 45:27would pick eight that I want there.
- 45:29So I'm not going to do that. And so they just went, you know
- 45:32what, we'll take the best athlete in the draft.
- 45:34I guess we need offensive help, let you out.
- 45:37Although if we're being fair, they need a defensive help more
- 45:40in my opinion, because they can put up 35 points.
- 45:43Your team was putting up 40. And so it's like, well, this is
- 45:48the issue. The pick feels bad.
- 45:50I think them picking Jeremiah Love was the exact reason why
- 45:54the Titans pick Cardinal Tate. They will.
- 45:56Our guy is gone. I guess we'll just take the next
- 45:58best offensive weapon on the board.
- 46:00I don't know. I don't like it.
- 46:00I don't like anything they did. There's Kubiak.
- 46:03Clint Kubiak, down there for his first year, is not set up, no.
- 46:06That's the. Good first year.
- 46:08That's the best Raiders. Nope, it's a Lambsgar, but yeah.
- 46:12Michael Floor, Matt. Matt Lafleur, Mike.
- 46:16Matt, this is going to be a Haba situation for me all over again.
- 46:23Wherever the floor, brother. Mike, that's Mike.
- 46:26Mike yeah, it's like the first time he's just not set up for a
- 46:29successful first year. And the lease says the leash is
- 46:32so short with his first year head coaches, he's not put
- 46:36himself in a good winning spot. Right.
- 46:38Do you guys have any other winners or losers of the NFL
- 46:41draft you want to talk about? I think the 49ers, Davis muted.
- 46:44I think the. The 90 Niners.
- 46:46That's funny. The Niners, I was saying.
- 46:48Oh great. Yeah, My problem is, you know
- 46:51what a reality you go first to the Niners.
- 46:52Here, No, no, no, I just, no. I just think they suck and
- 46:56they're the worst team and I just can.
- 46:59I thought Stribling was a wild pick there and I didn't think
- 47:03anything else really stood out. I feel like they just didn't
- 47:06show out and they're the Niners and they suck and no matter what
- 47:11they do, they won't have enough depth.
- 47:12Everyone will get hurt and they'll be in the same position
- 47:15next year. We'll go ahead.
- 47:18Wait, wait. Before we goes, did you guys see
- 47:20the video of Kyle Shanahan when they drafted their third round
- 47:22pick, Caitlin Black, the running back from Indiana?
- 47:25So they show the video of the war room and everybody's
- 47:28celebrating and Kyle Shanahan is just sitting in his chair just
- 47:30like staring off in the blank space, like, what are we doing?
- 47:34He hated that thing. He hated it, just like Sean
- 47:37McVay hated the Tie Simpson thing.
- 47:39My biggest problem is not just here is that they made no splash
- 47:45moves. I guess there's no like notable,
- 47:48like really notable names that they drafted, which is going to
- 47:52happen when your first pick isn't until early in the second
- 47:55round, But you traded out of it, trade out of the first round
- 47:57into the second round and then you draft the Stripling and then
- 48:01you just kind of went well, I guess we'll just kind of take
- 48:05good enough players, I guess. And it just feels very
- 48:08lackluster. This team that is has been in
- 48:12win Right Now mode for like the last five years.
- 48:15It feels like, if not more, making it to the NFC
- 48:18Championship game, if not the Super Bowl multiple times in the
- 48:20last eight years just feels like they've been right on the cusp
- 48:24every single year. And now they're in 3rd place in
- 48:28the NFC West and it's drafted Nothing to help that.
- 48:32I just I'm just, I just don't get this one.
- 48:35I don't get it at all. All right.
- 48:36Well, if you guys don't have anything else, I just have one
- 48:39more thing that I wanted to share before we close out the
- 48:41episode here. So we just hit over 300
- 48:44subscribers on YouTube this last week.
- 48:46And I know that's really not that many, but the reason I
- 48:48bring that up is because we started doing draft content the
- 48:51week after the Super Bowl, so almost three months ago.
- 48:53And when we started doing that, we had 150 subscribers on
- 48:57YouTube. So we doubled the amount of
- 48:58subscribers we had in three months of draft content.
- 49:01This year. We got more subscribers from
- 49:03this draft content than we had in the entire previous year of
- 49:06content that we had. So I just wanted to say thank
- 49:08you to everyone who watched and subscribed to our YouTube
- 49:11channel. If you don't already, please go
- 49:13and subscribe. And as always, guys, don't
- 49:15forget to keep your balls played with.
- 49:17We'll see you next time. There you go.
- 49:19Oh, my throat is terrible. Also, Mark Davidson's haircut
- 49:22still sucks.
