- 5:19I like it.
- 5:20It's Godzilla.
- 5:21Godzilla, is it?
- 5:23Yeah.
- 5:24Well,
- 5:24don't do that because you scare the guests.
- 5:27No.
- 5:27Everybody loves Godzilla.
- 5:29Everybody loves
- 5:30doesn't love Godzilla.
- 5:32Hope they do.
- 5:33I think Rich is very confused because he's waiting for the hat and and all this show.
- 5:40So I suppose we better bring our special guest onto the show.
- 5:43Okay?
- 5:43So I just want to find out how Michael is.
- 5:46Are you okay, Michael?
- 5:48Yes.
- 5:49Good.
- 5:50He's all confused, everybody.
- 5:52He's like, what?
- 5:53I know.
- 5:54I
- 5:56literally flew my car to get here in time because There was flying car.
- 6:02Construction.
- 6:03So I'm like,
- 6:08Have you got have you got a flying car now?
- 6:11No.
- 6:11It just feels like it.
- 6:13I want one of those.
- 6:14I'd like a flying car.
- 6:15That'd be cool.
- 6:16Papa, can I have a flying car, please?
- 6:19No.
- 6:19I don't have a flying one, but it's it's a fun, speedy one.
- 6:24A fun, speedy one.
- 6:26I've never had a speeding ticket.
- 6:28I tell you I tell you what I have.
- 6:30I had a speeding ticket.
- 6:31Don't wanna be lying.
- 6:32The UK, the average speed going around the town center is 30 mile an hour.
- 6:37Okay?
- 6:37Sometimes 20 miles an hour.
- 6:38I get it when there's kids in the road.
- 6:40Okay?
- 6:40Kids shouldn't be in the road in the first place.
- 6:42Okay?
- 6:43My ticket was for 31.5 miles an hour.
- 6:48I had to go to a driving school basically for speeding because I went 31.5.
- 6:57Okay?
- 6:57The cop's sitting there with his, like, magic gun thing, and there's a bloke, like,
- 7:01literally, he's flying.
- 7:02He's straight past, like, eighty, ninety five mile an hour in a 30.
- 7:06I'm the one sitting there with a parking ticket at thirty one.
- 7:10I've yeah.
- 7:11I've never and I most of my cars have been night.
- 7:18Hello.
- 7:19Most of my cars are fun.
- 7:23I'm I buy the fun cars.
- 7:25I buy the the convertibles and this room.
- 7:30And Jason buys the practical cars.
- 7:35You know?
- 7:35Jason Jason's the woman, basically.
- 7:38He buys, like, the big, like, convertible to take you to to school and take you shopping,
- 7:43doesn't he?
- 7:43And you're the, like, the typical bloke who's, like, buying all the sports cars, aren't you?
- 7:48I this okay.
- 7:51So I've had three r x sevens, an r x eight, a three fifty z, a three seventy z, and now my
- 8:02car is a a Jaguar.
- 8:05Wow.
- 8:05You've had some cars.
- 8:07That's like a collection.
- 8:08That is a typical collection.
- 8:10I don't have them all.
- 8:11I have to sell them.
- 8:12I'm not rich, so I have to sell them.
- 8:14Oh, you lined them up all outside your apartment.
- 8:17That's how I got it in bed.
- 8:19No.
- 8:19I live in a house.
- 8:20You
- 8:21live in a house.
- 8:22But it's a bigger house than ours, though.
- 8:24Oh, could you imagine me leaving an apartment with all the singing that I do?
- 8:28Well, apparently, the the apartment that I actually live in in Florida, I don't play the
- 8:33piano, by the way, everybody.
- 8:34And the apartment in Florida actually isn't real.
- 8:36It's a backdrop.
- 8:37I will let after every last time over the last four months that we've been doing this, it
- 8:43isn't real, everybody.
- 8:44Okay?
- 8:44I'm sorry.
- 8:45I would love for it to be real, but it isn't real.
- 8:47Okay?
- 8:48So it would be nice.
- 8:49One day.
- 8:49You never know.
- 8:50Well, my face isn't real.
- 8:53Ew.
- 8:54He's gonna take it off, and it's gonna be Bubba's
- 8:56ass.
- 8:56Ew.
- 8:57Well, you know, when I Bubba,
- 9:00honestly honestly, I was just expecting him to rip it off, it's really been you all the time,
- 9:05brother.
- 9:06Well, you know, when I started unsigned spotlight
- 9:12When I started unsigned spotlight, I had envisioned that
- 9:14we would gonna be just about me.
- 9:18That I was gonna create these things, and then I was gonna birth them like the alien queen in
- 9:23aliens.
- 9:25What?
- 9:25You birthed guests.
- 9:26What?
- 9:27You just pop them out live on show?
- 9:29Yeah.
- 9:29The and then yeah.
- 9:30Especially the face huggers.
- 9:34I'll tell you what.
- 9:35Let's introduce our guests tonight and see if they're gonna pop out live on the show from
- 9:39from Michael.
- 9:40I don't know how that's math, but that's quite weird.
- 9:42Okay.
- 9:42But I'm gonna bring you the one, the only hat and an allist to the show, everybody.
- 9:47Let's welcome
- 9:47them.
- 9:49Hello.
- 9:54Hi.
- 9:54Yeah.
- 9:56Oh, my god.
- 9:56Michael, what am I Michael?
- 10:01You are wearing a Phoenix.
- 10:04Phoenix what?
- 10:07Phoenix ride.
- 10:09You have a shirt?
- 10:11I just bought it for the show.
- 10:13You a Phoenix red shirt.
- 10:17I'm the bloody CEO of the company.
- 10:19I don't even own one of them.
- 10:21I'm jealous.
- 10:23Okay.
- 10:23Prepared.
- 10:26I love it.
- 10:27I absolutely love it.
- 10:30Now he's gonna want it.
- 10:32Your Phoenix Rise t shirts will be available after the show for the nice price of $159.99,
- 10:38including tax.
- 10:39Don't want it that bad.
- 10:43Yes.
- 10:44Look.
- 10:45Danielle is on the show.
- 10:47Danielle Stotts, how are you doing?
- 10:49I don't know where.
- 10:50Well, I think Bubba's out on a baseball game today.
- 10:55Take me out on a ball game.
- 10:58Anyone like anyone like baseball?
- 11:00No.
- 11:01I think it's a terrible sport.
- 11:03Don't like it.
- 11:04It's boring.
- 11:05Because if your pitch if your pitcher is good, there's no game.
- 11:11If your pitcher is amazing, the game's done because it is ouch.
- 11:17Ow.
- 11:18I like
- 11:19it I like it when it hits someone in the audience.
- 11:21That's the best bit about baseball.
- 11:24Just take a bat and go in the audience then.
- 11:26Well, well, let's just hit them with a bat.
- 11:28I don't think it's gonna work like that.
- 11:30You know?
- 11:31I think that may but there may be some lawsuit against you, mate.
- 11:34You can take a bat to the
- 11:35audience and whack them over the head.
- 11:38We have the Seattle Mariners, obviously.
- 11:40We have the Seattle Mariners.
- 11:42And I so I've been to some of the games.
- 11:45I just I it's fun for, like, one eating, and then it's just boring.
- 11:50Like, it's just dull.
- 11:53It's kinda like cricket for me.
- 11:55I can't understand cricket.
- 11:56I've never known a sport that can literally last, like, the whole week and never know
- 12:01doesn't know what the score is still.
- 12:03And it's kinda like what?
- 12:04I have a question.
- 12:06You know when you watch golf?
- 12:08And I have occasionally.
- 12:09This is what happens for
- 12:10the first fifteen minutes.
- 12:11We just talk blurb.
- 12:13Yes.
- 12:14Why do the people why do all the commentators in golf whisper?
- 12:20It's not like the guy's there in the golfer's ears, and they're
- 12:24like, and now he's getting ready to putt.
- 12:28He's swinging the club.
- 12:30No doubt.
- 12:30But why is he talking like that?
- 12:32Why did he just say, he's grabbed his club.
- 12:35He's swinging.
- 12:36Look.
- 12:37It's a boring game.
- 12:38But no.
- 12:40Look at him.
- 12:41He's thinking, how far is that putt?
- 12:44Imagine if someone in the background was doing that to us on the show.
- 12:48He'd like, and Michael is going to say hello to everybody.
- 12:52It does what they do.
- 12:54And then they have guests on called.
- 12:58What are those poor guests gonna have to deal with today?
- 13:02Why not?
- 13:04Tuned.
- 13:04He's grabbing his club.
- 13:06Well, I I tell you what, I don't know what's the worst, like, laughing, the the way you're
- 13:10laughing at each other, making jokes about golf, but what's not funny is well, it is
- 13:15funny.
- 13:15Danielle has basically locked the Bubba in the garage.
- 13:19She's I think that's Bubba?
- 13:21It's better it's better than getting shouted at.
- 13:23Oh, Danielle, you do not get shouted at by Bubba.
- 13:26Bless him.
- 13:26Is that why he gets locked in the garage?
- 13:28Have you have you seen his studio?
- 13:30He he literally is in the basement.
- 13:32Bless him.
- 13:33He gets kicked out there, locked doors by, and he's literally fed once a day.
- 13:38Danielle locked him down there.
- 13:40He's not allowed to come back until he's got some money.
- 13:43Well, I apologize for my my cohost, AJ, just rambling when we have two amazing guests to
- 13:50just So and she even went out and bought she didn't buy a Michael Cagle T shirt.
- 14:02She didn't
- 14:03buy a two bowl to blend T shirt.
- 14:05She got a Phoenix rise.
- 14:08Because I knew I had to outdo you today on this show because your shirts are tremendous.
- 14:14Oh, okay.
- 14:14So, like, I knew I had to come with it.
- 14:18And I
- 14:19I just like it.
- 14:20Basically, just to let you know, Beth, just to let you know, you're off of my list every day
- 14:25now.
- 14:25Okay?
- 14:25So when I get up in the morning, I won't be doing Michael's work.
- 14:28Okay?
- 14:28I'll be doing your work.
- 14:29Just give you more
- 14:30detail, especially.
- 14:31So, Michael Oh, Michael.
- 14:32To the back of
- 14:33the queue now.
- 14:34Get to the back.
- 14:34Go on.
- 14:35Get to the back.
- 14:36Like mini me, get to the back.
- 14:38Okay.
- 14:38Hat and an all this.
- 14:39You can come sit sit next
- 14:41to that.
- 14:41Dressed up?
- 14:43Not.
- 14:45You didn't go get a Felix Rice t shirt when you were introduced to the company.
- 14:49No.
- 14:50That's an an allist.
- 14:51I'm waiting for my ambassador shirt.
- 14:54My best friends now.
- 14:54That's it next to me.
- 14:56Binib, move over.
- 14:58We have new bloody childhood.
- 15:00You know, listen.
- 15:01I'm waiting for my ambassador shirt.
- 15:04I will go and buy one hat and all this did say.
- 15:07They bought their own.
- 15:08They made themselves proud being part of the company.
- 15:10Don't you start on me.
- 15:16Anyway, she's what he is.
- 15:18It's just because she's kinda going with it, and he's going, what have I signed myself up
- 15:24for?
- 15:26And to the background, go, what the hell is going on here?
- 15:30So the people the people on the right side of the screen, we'll we'll do our own thing, and
- 15:36you two can do your own thing and see who falls asleep first.
- 15:40That sounds good to me.
- 15:42I think I've
- 15:42got a
- 15:42problem for that.
- 15:46Bloody buzzers in a room.
- 15:48Anyway So
- 15:48welcome to Unsigned Spotlight.
- 15:50I'm your host, Michael Cagle, and I've got my trainee right here.
- 15:56Oh, now he's now he's all sad.
- 15:58Well, welcome.
- 15:59Hey.
- 15:59It's so
- 16:00to have you.
- 16:01Would you like to introduce yourself to our vast audience of millions?
- 16:07This is Hatton, and this is Aurilus.
- 16:15And we are so happy to be on unsigned spotlight.
- 16:17This is my favorite show.
- 16:19I love the show.
- 16:20In fact, I come here just for the laughs.
- 16:23Oh, good.
- 16:24This is what I'm like.
- 16:25I get to control you all.
- 16:26So what I thought I'd do actually, that, Michael, that sounded quite good, the welcome.
- 16:30Okay?
- 16:30So what I'm gonna do is me and you are gonna take it in turns.
- 16:33Okay?
- 16:34We've got five songs to review today.
- 16:36Okay?
- 16:37We've got five songs which we have got to ask questions about Pan and Allis' amazing life in
- 16:44music connected to their songs.
- 16:47Okay?
- 16:48Because I'll tell you what, I was I was given questions and answers, and I looked at them by
- 16:52Beth, and I thought, you know what?
- 16:53I can't be bothered to ask for these.
- 16:55So we'll just make up as we go along, like we do for the whole show.
- 16:58So we'll look at them songs, and then we just make it up as we go along.
- 17:01Yeah?
- 17:01Can you imagine if somebody actually scripted our shows?
- 17:04No.
- 17:05I'd be so bored.
- 17:06I'd be like Can you imagine if
- 17:08you went to a studio one and they go they went, Michael, here's just what you've gotta say for
- 17:12an hour and a half.
- 17:13And then they say, AJ, there's no script ready for you because we ain't got a clue how to do
- 17:17it.
- 17:17Anyway, you are gonna go and and ask the first questions, okay, related to the first songs.
- 17:24Two songs.
- 17:25Okay?
- 17:26I'll sit in the background of the juice, and you can ask questions.
- 17:29Okay?
- 17:31Join in.
- 17:33Alright.
- 17:33Ask that join in.
- 17:34Alright.
- 17:34Ask that join in.
- 17:35Okay.
- 17:36But I I think it's a
- 17:37trying to be somebody that asked bad questions.
- 17:41I think it that you were doing really well at the beginning.
- 17:43I think the fact is that the audience do need to know who had an audience really.
- 17:47I was trying to do that, and then you butted in.
- 17:51Oh, yeah.
- 17:52I'll go away again.
- 17:55Hey, Michael.
- 17:56Hey.
- 17:57Hi, Wee.
- 18:01Yeah.
- 18:01You're my favorite person.
- 18:03My favorite Don't tell him that.
- 18:05He'll get all mad and interrupt.
- 18:07Hey.
- 18:08I'm here.
- 18:08You know?
- 18:09Don't talk about So
- 18:12why don't you introduce yourselves to the to our our listeners, and they're gonna they're
- 18:20gonna probably see you on TV.
- 18:22So this interview can go anywhere.
- 18:27On that if they're gonna see me on TV.
- 18:29Hold
- 18:30Team's two point a, by the way.
- 18:33Just to let everyone in the audience, like, hey.
- 18:35Michael's not done his own
- 18:37Oh my god.
- 18:38Alright.
- 18:38So why don't you introduce yourselves and let us know who you are, what you do, what you're
- 18:44about, and go from there.
- 18:48Okay.
- 18:49Go ahead, Adam.
- 18:49No.
- 18:50You go first.
- 18:50And how are you?
- 18:52Oh, okay.
- 18:52My name is Orlis.
- 18:54Oh my
- 18:54god.
- 18:55Oh my god.
- 18:55This is gonna be a long interview.
- 18:56Oh, okay.
- 18:57My name yeah.
- 18:58Oh, okay.
- 18:59My name is Orlis, and I write songs, and I play drums.
- 19:06And I've been doing that with Hatton for about thirty years now.
- 19:10So it's been a really it's been a long journey of just a lot of songs, a lot of songwriting.
- 19:17And we've been taking our songs and sticking them in a
- 19:19drawer Wow.
- 19:22For all these years.
- 19:23And then we're kinda like, you know, let's just get it out.
- 19:27Let's just get it out there.
- 19:29There's not you know, that's awesome.
- 19:32There's not a lot of female drummers.
- 19:37Yeah.
- 19:38That that I mean, the one that comes to mind, like, Karen Carpenter was a drummer, an amazing
- 19:44drummer.
- 19:46And
- 19:46Oh, amazed.
- 19:47She was yeah.
- 19:48But she's amazing, ridiculously amazing.
- 19:50But, yeah, but, I mean, I'm thinking, you know, you know, aside from, like, the girl groups,
- 19:56like, you know, the go gos and and, not a lot of not a lot of female drummers.
- 20:03How did you get into that?
- 20:04Why
- 20:05Yeah.
- 20:05That's, Yeah.
- 20:06It's a good question, Michael.
- 20:08It's a really good question.
- 20:09I started playing drums when I was about about 14, and I got a drum set I wanted to play.
- 20:17So as any kid, you know, like, they get this drum set.
- 20:20I set it up.
- 20:21I put it in my room.
- 20:22I hit the snare drum, and I freaked out.
- 20:26I freaked out.
- 20:27I went into an absolute rage and panic because my ears are so incredibly sensitive.
- 20:34So that sound of the snare bounced off all the walls.
- 20:38I heard all the reverb, and I knew I hated the sound.
- 20:44I couldn't stand the sound.
- 20:46I didn't understand it at the time, but I didn't like the sound.
- 20:50So I'd ended up that I have sensory issues to sound.
- 20:55I mean, massively.
- 20:56So I all so now I got a Roland drum, and it's just a lot easier for me to play.
- 21:08So our percussionist, Andy, he had gone over there, and he put on my headphones.
- 21:15And he's like, I can barely hear it.
- 21:19How do how do you even play?
- 21:21And I literally play with the volume on a little like that.
- 21:25Yeah.
- 21:25The
- 21:26yeah.
- 21:27Well, I guess my I'm gonna the obvious question.
- 21:32Yeah.
- 21:33If you the sound irritated you when you first played at 14, then why didn't why wouldn't you
- 21:40switch what was it about the drums that made you stay?
- 21:43Because you could have switched to another, you know, to another instrument that wouldn't have,
- 21:48you know, irritated you.
- 21:49Well, I tried the guitar, and it hurt my fingers.
- 21:55Piano?
- 21:58Yeah.
- 21:58A long story.
- 21:59I'm better going on that.
- 22:01Oh, man.
- 22:01Okay.
- 22:02So
- 22:03He he he's been trying to
- 22:04get me to play piano.
- 22:05Story.
- 22:06Can someone tell me that story?
- 22:07Because the I if if the thing is, like, being yeah.
- 22:10I would need to hear that story.
- 22:12So can you tell us a bit more, please?
- 22:14Okay.
- 22:14So I started playing drums about six years ago, really straight.
- 22:22And I started playing I started playing on records out of necessity because he needed a
- 22:29drummer.
- 22:31Okay.
- 22:32Okay.
- 22:33I I I find that so crazy.
- 22:37Like, not one that I I think that's amazing because I love the drums.
- 22:43That was gonna be my first choice of instrument.
- 22:47But I literally felt so restricted as far because yeah.
- 22:57And then my coordination, it didn't work.
- 23:01So I I learned the piano, which doesn't make any sense because you need two hands for that
- 23:05as well.
- 23:06But K.
- 23:08But that's really kinda cool.
- 23:11I mean, I yeah.
- 23:12I I have I have a real love for for drummers, because piano is amazing.
- 23:19You know, vocals, obviously, I love the human voice as an instrument.
- 23:23Love it.
- 23:24But the drummers are the heartbeat.
- 23:27They are they are the the blood of of a song.
- 23:30Like, they really they can make or break the feel of a song, you know, the arrangement of a
- 23:36song, the the performance of a drummer's off.
- 23:39It it you just feel it.
- 23:41So, that's really awesome.
- 23:43I I think that's cool.
- 23:45Alright.
- 23:45Your turn, sir.
- 23:48Okay.
- 23:49I'm not much
- 23:50Are you talking to Pat, or are you not talking to me?
- 23:54Oh god.
- 23:55Oh, we can speak to both.
- 23:56Oh, AJ.
- 23:57Jump in the group.
- 23:57It is two, sirs.
- 23:59Are you talking to Hatton, or are you talking to me?
- 24:02What?
- 24:03Who are you talking to?
- 24:05Him.
- 24:06Oh,
- 24:06him.
- 24:07Him, Hatton.
- 24:08Yes.
- 24:09Alright.
- 24:10Okay.
- 24:10I'll go away.
- 24:11No.
- 24:11You don't
- 24:12jeez.
- 24:13What is this show?
- 24:15I'm so sorry.
- 24:16Okay.
- 24:17Haddon, talk to me.
- 24:22Pretty simple.
- 24:23Since I was a little kid, all I wanted to do was write songs.
- 24:26I didn't even wanna, you know, I didn't even wanna play.
- 24:30I didn't wanna I never look I'm not looking for fame.
- 24:33I never were interested in any of that stuff.
- 24:35Okay.
- 24:37I just like writing.
- 24:38And, I don't know.
- 24:42When she came along, my writing was kinda stale because I was always sitting at the piano.
- 24:49You know?
- 24:50And then when she plays drums, it's like opens up the ideas come it's amazing.
- 24:56I just say, stop.
- 24:58She's go, what do you wanna play?
- 25:00I said, just play anything.
- 25:02And bam.
- 25:02My fingers just start going to these where they never went before.
- 25:07And I'm not
- 25:07a
- 25:07singer.
- 25:09I didn't start singing till, like, what, 2020?
- 25:12Yeah.
- 25:12And you and if you heard the early I'm so out of tune because I didn't have confidence in
- 25:18singing.
- 25:19I never thought I could sing.
- 25:20And then little by little, I got a little more confident.
- 25:24And then what I did was I bought this thing by, I think Roland made it.
- 25:29It's their version of AutoTune, like a hardware thing.
- 25:33Right.
- 25:34So downstairs, we would rehearse because I was always embarrassed because sometimes she would
- 25:40invite people to jam with us.
- 25:42Right?
- 25:43And I'd be singing, and I was so embarrassed that I'm singing out of tune.
- 25:47So I hooked up the AutoTune, and I can hear it, like, where it should go and where I'm at.
- 25:54And I actually it trained me to sing it better in tune.
- 25:58Okay.
- 25:58And now I don't need and now I don't need it at all anymore.
- 26:01Sure.
- 26:02Here and there, I'm a little off.
- 26:04I know that.
- 26:04But it's like night and day, and now I'm feeling more confident.
- 26:08And I'm using my voice now to write the songs where before, I was always using the piano.
- 26:15Right.
- 26:15And as you know, and I know you know this, writing a melody on the piano doesn't translate
- 26:22to what the vocal can do.
- 26:23You know?
- 26:24And so that opened up and that opened up all these doors.
- 26:28I write a lot of my songs into my phone because I I know that when I start playing the piano,
- 26:37I'm limited on, you know, what I know theory wise because I've taken four years of theory.
- 26:44And so I kinda know where everything's supposed to go.
- 26:47But, musically, I'm not hearing that always the same way.
- 26:51And so I find it a lot easier to just, like, sing into my phone the melody, the song that
- 26:58I'm hearing, and everything.
- 26:59And then I try to put the music to that and and create the arrangement around that.
- 27:04But sitting at a piano, I I don't know how some people do that.
- 27:08You know, they just are able to flow, and all of sudden things come.
- 27:12It comes to me, which is why my songs are as weird as they are.
- 27:16Now being a songwriter, I'm really intrigued.
- 27:19Did you start off, like, doing poetry or and and then that led into songs?
- 27:26Or I mean,
- 27:28No.
- 27:29I I never even I used to always, like, try to ask lyricists if they wanted to collaborate.
- 27:35Okay.
- 27:36And I never could find anybody was that was really that good.
- 27:40There was one per here and there, but mostly, I I was always afraid to write words.
- 27:46Okay.
- 27:47And then the the big moment came with her and me was, like, four four years ago.
- 27:54Yeah.
- 27:55The we were we started we started trying we started trying to find lyricists.
- 28:00It just wasn't working out.
- 28:03Yeah.
- 28:03So then we she suggested because I met I, I had the melody with I made up gibberish.
- 28:10You know?
- 28:11I just made up words that didn't make any sense.
- 28:13And that's how that's how I wrote the melody.
- 28:15I I needed I needed words to be like the railroad tracks for the locomotive.
- 28:21So so we're just making up words, and she goes, use your sounds.
- 28:26So we wrote down all this phonetics on paper, and then we tried to go, oh, that and then she
- 28:31would say, well, that word is hurry up or something.
- 28:35She would say, like, that sounds like the word hurry up.
- 28:37Right?
- 28:38Hurry up.
- 28:38Then we have, like, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, and we have, like, almost like a
- 28:43scrabble.
- 28:44You got, like, some words gibberish, some words gibberish.
- 28:47Right?
- 28:48And then we filled in the blanks, and then eventually it was the very first word.
- 28:54What's the name?
- 28:55Two second shifts.
- 28:57Oh,
- 28:57yeah.
- 28:57That was the first song we actually wrote the words together, as a as a
- 29:05Yeah.
- 29:05Both Hatton and Warholists.
- 29:07Yes.
- 29:07Hatton and Warholists.
- 29:08So you're you're both you're both songwriters.
- 29:12Yes.
- 29:12Oh, yes.
- 29:13She I would say she was more of a songwriter than me because when I first met her, she had
- 29:19these great words all the time.
- 29:21I mean and and the melodies were really cool.
- 29:23Thanks.
- 29:24Like that one song nice.
- 29:26Time moves on.
- 29:26Oh, you're so He's so nice to me.
- 29:30Go on.
- 29:30Keep flattering me.
- 29:33I wish Adrian treated me like that.
- 29:38I know
- 29:38what you mean.
- 29:39I treat you very, very well.
- 29:40Thank you
- 29:40very well.
- 29:41Oh god.
- 29:43I love this.
- 29:45So This is funny.
- 29:47When when did okay.
- 29:50Because you said you said, you said you started writing songs super young.
- 29:56How how old were you both when you both started really getting into the songwriting?
- 30:03Like, it it you knew it it was something that was gonna be a passion of yours.
- 30:08Well, I was five years old when I knew I wanted to do this because I was listening WABC Radio
- 30:13seven seventy, And I would get on my I would get on my
- 30:21bicycle stations.
- 30:22Okay?
- 30:22Just to let you know, we're on YouTube, Facebook, and, you know, so radio stations, if
- 30:27you are plugged during this interview, okay, we expect a check-in the post for £300.
- 30:32Okay?
- 30:33Oh, I thought I did something wrong there for a second.
- 30:35I got nerve I got really nervous right there.
- 30:40I got that.
- 30:41I thought I did a bad bad.
- 30:42You know?
- 30:43No.
- 30:43It's quite funny, to
- 30:44be honest.
- 30:44I'm sitting in the back here.
- 30:45Hilarious.
- 30:47You're such a jerk.
- 30:51Okay.
- 30:51So I was five years old.
- 30:53I would get on my bicycle, and, I would ride.
- 30:58And then I I would ride further and further every day because my goal was to write 40 songs
- 31:04because I would you know, the top 40
- 31:07At age five.
- 31:08Age five
- 31:09Now I don't know.
- 31:10They they probably were the worst things in the world, but to me, they were the greatest things
- 31:14in the world at the time.
- 31:15And I'd be singing them, so I didn't play an instrument.
- 31:18So I did kinda start out just singing, but who knows what the heck who knows what they sounded
- 31:23like.
- 31:24But to me, I had 40 songs that would last my bike ride to the destination and back home
- 31:29again, and that was what I did.
- 31:32Wow.
- 31:33And you?
- 31:35Me?
- 31:35I well, I wasn't paying attention in school, so no surprise there.
- 31:40So I was writing, on my, tests or whatever on my papers I'd write.
- 31:46And I started out, as poetry.
- 31:53And then they started to come a melody started to come with words.
- 32:00And that's when I connected with him, and I got with him, and I'd sing this is so so like,
- 32:07sinking ships.
- 32:07It's like, so two sinking ships.
- 32:11We were going down.
- 32:14No one could save us.
- 32:16We were going down.
- 32:19Okay.
- 32:20Tried like that.
- 32:20Right?
- 32:21Okay.
- 32:21So that's how it went.
- 32:22Right?
- 32:22So that's that's pretty much so.
- 32:25Like, I had the melody, and I had a few words.
- 32:28And then I came along with him, and I stood at the piano, and and it just happened.
- 32:35It was magical.
- 32:37Incredible.
- 32:38Seriously.
- 32:39And how did you two meet?
- 32:42Internet.
- 32:43Question.
- 32:43Don't ask me that question.
- 32:45It's me.
- 32:48AOL.

- 33:10you know, as everybody knows that I was, like, dumped in the dumpster.

- 33:18So AOL dating.
- 33:20Okay?
- 33:21Literally, how does this, like, work?
- 33:23So was there a message that come through?
- 33:25I'm confused.

- 33:27That's it was
- 33:27email.

- 33:35But it was emailed.
- 33:36There was no texting or anything like that.
- 33:38So you you contacted me because you saw my profile that I was into that I was into

- 34:10There was there must have been some, like, profile service that you put up a picture of
- 34:15yourself.

- 34:46Back it was very brand new.
- 34:48So, basically, you had to describe yourself.
- 34:50So hang on a minute.
- 34:51So let's imagine this is Tinder dating or or, you know, or, I don't know, or other dating,
- 34:56Facebook dating.
- 34:57I say so if you bring it modern, okay, Hatton, okay, did you describe yourself to all this as
- 35:04a bloke?
- 35:05Did you basically say, I'm a mustly six foot tall, six pack bodybuilder
- 35:13No.
- 35:13With a million pounds?
- 35:14She contacted me.
- 35:16I didn't contact her.
- 35:17Oh, okay.
- 35:18Ollie.
- 35:19What was your profile then?
- 35:21I I need to know to nitty gritty.
- 35:23Ollie, what was your profile?
- 35:24How did you sell yourself to Hatton?
- 35:26My god.
- 35:27You know, I really didn't care what he looked like.
- 35:32It was more the fact that he was a nice person, and he was interesting, and I wanted to meet
- 35:38him.
- 35:39So yeah.
- 35:40Michael Cagle.
- 35:41You could have met Michael Cagle.
- 35:42You could have met anybody.
- 35:43It's unsafe.
- 35:44You know, safety roles and all that.
- 35:46You know?
- 35:47He didn't
- 35:48You guys said 1995?
- 35:51Yeah.
- 35:52How old were you?
- 35:53That's the same year Yeah.
- 35:56Keith.
- 35:58Was that the same year what?
- 35:59You met JP.

- 36:03wow.
- 36:03We met we met in college in in '95.
- 36:07Yeah.
- 36:08But these two these two met over AOL dating.
- 36:11I'm I'm sorry they trump you two.
- 36:13Okay?
- 36:13You're just one of those love stories.
- 36:15You know?
- 36:15You know?
- 36:16Oh, hello, mate.
- 36:17Have JP JP.
- 36:18I I've seen you in college, and I think you're so buff.
- 36:21These two were AOL buddies.
- 36:24Okay?
- 36:24This is really cool.
- 36:26This is definitely cool.
- 36:27This is, like, top, you know, a a highlight reel coming out of the show.
- 36:31Have you not seen the movie You've Got Mail?
- 36:35Yes.
- 36:36I have.
- 36:36Yeah.
- 36:37Yeah.
- 36:38It's the same thing.
- 36:39You got the the a couple met and then they're not bleeding.
- 36:43Yeah.
- 36:44Yeah.
- 36:44Yeah.
- 36:45So how and when you saw Otis' profile come put, obviously, there was no photo.
- 36:50There was just an email.
- 36:50There
- 36:52had to have been a photo.
- 36:53It wasn't even a profile.
- 36:55She sent me a message.
- 36:59Because all we had I think I had my name.
- 37:01Oh, interest in common.
- 37:03That's how you
- 37:04could search.
- 37:04It was
- 37:05interest in
- 37:06common.
- 37:06Yeah.
- 37:07And so all I had was power lifting, recording studio, and music.
- 37:15And she saw that.
- 37:18She contacted me, and I saw she had pow she was national champion world world powerlifting
- 37:24champion Best of music.
- 37:29I'm not coming coming over to America because I'm not gonna be powerless over your shoulder.
- 37:33Okay?
- 37:35I'm scared now, Michael.
- 37:36She would literally do that.
- 37:39Michael, literally, if you go and visit them, just do not go near them.
- 37:42Okay?
- 37:42Because they're gonna lift you over the shoulder.
- 37:45I I would welcome it.
- 37:47I'm so I'm
- 37:49so new.
- 37:50Yeah.
- 37:50Oh, please lift me.
- 37:52Please lift me.
- 37:53Show me.
- 37:54You'd love it.
- 37:57Bench press me, baby.
- 37:59Bench press me, baby.
- 38:02So okay.
- 38:03So let's let's move it on.
- 38:04Okay.
- 38:04So you've read each other's emails.
- 38:06Bloody, bloody, bloody, Willow.
- 38:07What was the first date like?
- 38:10Oh, I what was it?
- 38:12Oh.
- 38:12Oh, I remember You're Let him tell it.
- 38:14Before we even twenty four hour before we
- 38:18sorry?
- 38:18Did you guys go into twenty four Hour Fitness or Gold's Gym on your first date?
- 38:23Oh, no.
- 38:23No.
- 38:24No.
- 38:24What happened was I I sent her I sent her a song I wrote and asked her to memorize the
- 38:35word, learn the melody.
- 38:37She came into the studio.
- 38:39I laid down the track, and she sang the melody perfectly.
- 38:44The first time I ever had anybody come in that sang something I wrote correct, I didn't have
- 38:49to, like I didn't even have to punch in.
- 38:51Went from head from the intro to the out chorus perfectly.
- 38:56And that and I said, like, that's amazing.
- 38:58The song was the song was horror the song was horrible.
- 39:02Was it did you not have any people come into your studio that time?
- 39:06Was just, like, Beth come in and that was it, or was it love at first sight?
- 39:11It was love at first sight.
- 39:12Oh, that was it?
- 39:15Boy, I feel we've got a love well, it's so nice.
- 39:18I love this.
- 39:18Look.
- 39:20It's so cute.
- 39:21You know, love at first sight in a studio.
- 39:24So okay.
- 39:26So right.
- 39:27Okay.
- 39:27So we've got onto our first date and things like that.
- 39:29So in terms of Hatton and Allis, where did the idea come from?
- 39:34And, you know, did you just say, I'll I'll tell you what.
- 39:37We need a band name.
- 39:38We need a studio name.
- 39:39No.
- 39:39Don't know.
- 39:40It
- 39:40was all her idea.
- 39:42It was all her.
- 39:44Well, he wanted it to just do
- 39:49I just wanted the right.
- 39:50Orlist is what he wanted.
- 39:51Yeah.
- 39:52That's all he wanted.
- 39:53As far as the name, I wanted it to be orlist.
- 39:55Because look.
- 39:55She's, like, outgoing.
- 39:57I'm not.
- 39:58I'm like I always like being in the background, but she insisted having an orlist.
- 40:03Know?
- 40:04Yeah.
- 40:04It had to be.
- 40:06Had to be because I because I wasn't doing it alone.
- 40:10You know?
- 40:10Yeah.
- 40:12Yeah.
- 40:12I needed his name in there.
- 40:13I needed him.
- 40:15You needed him too.
- 40:16Bring on.
- 40:17Need you.
- 40:20Just don't lead him into anything that basically comes into a song title
- 40:25or he's gonna sing.
- 40:26Okay?
- 40:27My mistake.
- 40:28Every single
- 40:28time I get onto a show, I just have to use something that is related to a song, and he
- 40:33starts singing.
- 40:35He loves it.
- 40:36Look at that cute face.
- 40:39Look at it.
- 40:39But I wouldn't mouth in his mouth, would it?
- 40:41Why?
- 40:43Why?
- 40:45Okay.
- 40:45So I would very much like to hear a song of yours if we May.
- 40:51I know that you sent us five, and we are looking forward to those five.
- 40:56I'm hoping that the producer has got his act together today.
- 41:01Oh, oops.
- 41:02I'm sorry.
- 41:04No.
- 41:04I'll tell you what.
- 41:05I ain't got any of these, like, all plugged in.
- 41:07I'm sorry.
- 41:07You're gonna have to carry on talking.
- 41:09Alright?
- 41:10Of course, I got it sorted.
- 41:14Okay?
- 41:14So we I'm gonna actually put them on one by one, and then Hatton and all this are gonna
- 41:19explain to the audience, okay, what the songs were and why they wrote them and give us some
- 41:24context.
- 41:24Okay?
- 41:25And I can also ask them to give us some context on the actual album art as well because we've
- 41:30got some incredible album art coming up here.
- 41:32It's almost as though they've been into the local high school, and they've said to kids, we
- 41:36need some album art.
- 41:37Can you please put the pencils down and please write them for us?
- 41:40Or Oris is an absolutely great graphic designer.
- 41:43Okay?
- 41:44So, basically, the first one.
- 41:46Oh, oh, oh.
- 41:47Who are you?
- 41:49Before we delve into the first song, how would you guys describe
- 41:54Have you got a problem with your speech, Michael?
- 41:58Have you got a problem with your speech?
- 42:00You need to go to Chewy.
- 42:02How do you how do you guys describe your music?
- 42:05What would people classify your genre or your sound as?
- 42:13You want me to say something, or do you wanna
- 42:15say Yeah.
- 42:15Because I'm so confused about our sound, because it's it it's just so different from
- 42:20anything really out.
- 42:22I I I don't think it's really different, but it's, for me personally, I don't wanna put
- 42:28words in her mouth.
- 42:30It's, I love the music of the sixties, seventies, and mid early to mid eighties.
- 42:40Okay.
- 42:40I know our music doesn't sound like that, but some of it does, I think, come through in me
- 42:47like that.
- 42:48And I and not bore I don't have a voice like like Michael has a incredible vocal.
- 42:56I have I'm more like a and I don't even claim to be this, but I'm more like Mick Jagger or or
- 43:04or Rod no.
- 43:06Rod Stewart.
- 43:06I'm not I wish I was as good as Rod Stewart.
- 43:09But so I u I make the most of what I got.
- 43:12Okay.
- 43:13Okay?
- 43:14And I believe and she I I don't wanna
- 43:19I believe I could fly.
- 43:21I'm not gonna
- 43:22I believe I can touch the sky.
- 43:25Don't do it.
- 43:26Okay?
- 43:26Just don't do it.
- 43:27Okay?
- 43:28If you
- 43:28about it every night and day.
- 43:31Hagel, shush.
- 43:33We're trying to do an interview, and, also, we're trying to get through the songs.
- 43:36We're forty three minutes in, and we ain't even done any plumbing songs yet.
- 43:40Yeah.
- 43:42Yeah.
- 43:42So I just think the songs reflect who we are.
- 43:45It's like raw I really think they're raw in a way in a big way, actually.
- 43:50I'm not in we're not at I'm not I'm not into producing at all.
- 43:54I hate producing.
- 43:55I I wish I wish we I wish we could I
- 43:58thought that would be I hate producing.
- 43:59I wish we had a producer like Gus Studgeon or, you know, or Quincy Jones.
- 44:04That would be a but they would never want us anyway.
- 44:07But, you know, but I just it's what this is us.
- 44:12Okay.
- 44:13For better or for worse, this is us.
- 44:15Yeah.
- 44:15And Adrian.
- 44:17Adrian.
- 44:18It does lead into the song who are you.
- 44:20You know?
- 44:21Adrian.
- 44:21Are you?
- 44:22Yes.
- 44:23I think now you should stop talking so we can play their music.
- 44:27I ain't said anything.
- 44:28Yes.
- 44:29I'm sitting here in the background.
- 44:30I thought he was talking to me.
- 44:32I was I I
- 44:33plan who are you.
- 44:34Okay.
- 44:35Enjoy it, and we'll find out a bit more about this after we solve.
- 44:37Okay?
- 44:37I
- 44:38love you.
- 48:02Fantastic song.
- 48:03I really enjoyed that.
- 48:04Just to let everybody know that we have got a time limit of two and a half minutes to talk
- 48:09about each track because we gotta get on Booms TV because it's gonna be an absolutely amazing
- 48:14episode on Booms TV two point o, by the way, on Fire Stick and also on Amazon.
- 48:19Same thing, Adrian.
- 48:22Fire Stick and also on Apple and Woku.
- 48:26Okay?
- 48:26So two point five minutes.
- 48:28Go, Michael.
- 48:30I thought it was really good.
- 48:32It's it's a good sound.
- 48:33I don't see where you think you don't sound good or that you don't have a a good voice.
- 48:39It it it actually lends itself to the music really well.
- 48:43I mean, it it I think, you know, a different kind of voice would sound funny with that song.
- 48:51I think it it's actually really a good fit.
- 48:53And I think that's the number one thing a songwriter has to do when they're writing for
- 48:57themselves is to really understand what their instrument does and what it doesn't do.
- 49:03And you just constantly wanna put what you do best, you know, in in the light and back away
- 49:12from what you can, which is what I do a bunch.
- 49:15I thought I just thought it was a really, really good song.
- 49:17I I don't I didn't you know, I didn't hear, you know, anything that was, like, sounded amateur
- 49:26or wasn't well produced.
- 49:29So I I, yeah, I liked it.
- 49:32I I really did.
- 49:33It was just your vocals, though.
- 49:35Right?
- 49:36It's on the background.
- 49:37Okay.
- 49:38So you were the Yeah.
- 49:41Okay.
- 49:42So, yeah, I thought it was a good pairing.
- 49:45I would like I I wouldn't I definitely wouldn't turn my radio off if it came on unless, you
- 49:54know, Selena Michael.
- 49:57Oh, Michael.
- 49:58You're my favorite.
- 50:04Sorry.
- 50:07Hi, everybody.
- 50:08There was I there's something in the fight.
- 50:12It's called pro.
- 50:13It's called pro.
- 50:14It's called pro.
- 50:15It's called something.
- 50:17I tell you what, what I love about your music, it's very you as the couple.
- 50:23Okay?
- 50:24And I know we've had lots of couples who have produced together or sung together.
- 50:29Okay?
- 50:30And they've given almost a very we've had it before.
- 50:36It's been done before.
- 50:37It's it's been copied.
- 50:39You know?
- 50:40But I love and one of the things what really you know, you asked me this question when we
- 50:44had an interview together about Phoenix Wright.
- 50:47You were saying, why us?
- 50:48Nothing one thing I know about you two is is it's your sound.
- 50:53It's no one's gonna have any sound like this because you have produced it.
- 50:57You have put this together.
- 50:59You have got a sound which doesn't sound like anyone else.
- 51:03Your vocal is the way you put them across and portray them across doesn't sound like anyone
- 51:08else.
- 51:08And I think that's what the music industry needs.
- 51:12It needs fresh blood.
- 51:14It needs new ideas.
- 51:15And I think bands who get to work with you or singers who get to work with you are in a
- 51:21really lucky place because actually they're gonna be coming to a producer who can actually
- 51:26produce something fresh.
- 51:28It's not gonna be copied.
- 51:29It's not gonna be mimicked.
- 51:30It's not gonna be done before.
- 51:32It's gonna be something completely different.
- 51:34And if you're selling that to record labels, actually, you know, you look at Bohemian
- 51:38Rhapsody and the producers, like, bases when they used to go in and play something was
- 51:44completely different.
- 51:45They hadn't heard it before.
- 51:47And the producers were you know, the record labels were like, oh, yeah.
- 51:49This is rubbish.
- 51:50Just, you know, please just play this.
- 51:52And, like, Freddie was so insistent on basically saying, I want you to play my music.
- 51:58I want you to play something which you have not heard before, and they become hits.
- 52:03They become worldwide hits that we all listen to and love now.
- 52:07And I think that's something what really interested me.
- 52:10When I first heard your music, was just thinking, oh, we've got something brand new
- 52:13here, something to really hold on to.
- 52:15If we can blend the right people with you, actually, this could be a hit in the music
- 52:21industry because everybody will be so, like, we haven't seen and heard this before.
- 52:26People will take more interest.
- 52:27So I love your songs.
- 52:29Absolutely love your songs, and they are blended really well.
- 52:31You produce them really well.
- 52:33And vocals.
- 52:34Right?
- 52:36I'm sorry, Michael.
- 52:39It that's AJ.
- 52:41Oh, AJ.
- 52:43Five minutes.
- 52:44Let's go.
- 52:45Let's see
- 52:46who gets the scores.
- 52:47I'll put that one down as well, AJ.
- 52:49Just just gonna tobble it up by the end of the interview.
- 52:52Okay, Michael?
- 52:53And I'll tell you who the winner is at the end.
- 52:54Alright?
- 52:56I don't
- 52:56We've got one comment coming.
- 52:59Very nice song.
- 53:03Very good melody, miss Randy.
- 53:05Thank you, Randy, for putting up
- 53:06in there.
- 53:07And you can join in in the audience.
- 53:08It's not your show.
- 53:09You know?
- 53:09It is your show as well in the audience.
- 53:11I know.
- 53:12Okay?
- 53:12So if you've got a question, especially if it's an embarrassing one, okay, Pat and Analis would
- 53:18like to take your answers and questions.
- 53:19Okay?
- 53:20So if you got anything really embarrassing to ask, please join in.
- 53:22Okay?
- 53:23And I'll put it on for you.
- 53:25Okay?
- 53:25But please join in initially.
- 53:27Okay.
- 53:27Let's get on another song.
- 53:28I've got a dog in the background.
- 53:29I don't know where that's coming from.
- 53:31Oh, it's outside.
- 53:32Sorry about that, everybody.
- 53:33I haven't got a dog, honestly.
- 53:35No one in the house has a dog.
- 53:36We're not allowed.
- 53:37Okay.
- 53:37So let's put on this one.
- 53:39We've had this one on the show before, and I love this one.
- 53:42This is gonna lead into the embarrassing questions because this is from what I remember
- 53:46about how to keep the wife very quiet and go, shh.
- 53:50Okay?
- 53:50So tell us a little bit more, and we'll set it
- 53:53up.
- 53:55You go.
- 53:55Well, Ooyaya is about a person who insistently talks.
- 54:04And he can't find a police to hide.
- 54:08And Yes.
- 54:10It's me.
- 54:11Like like, It is.
- 54:15It is me.
- 54:16I think so.
- 54:16That's what
- 54:17yeah.
- 54:18Yeah.
- 54:18It's The guy in the red shirt.
- 54:21I don't know what you're saying.
- 54:22I don't look
- 54:23like that stickman anyway.
- 54:24That's not me.
- 54:25I haven't got big ears like that.
- 54:26That's you.
- 54:30I don't
- 54:30have big ears.
- 54:32He looks like you.
- 54:33I'm not
- 54:34that thin.
- 54:34If I was that thin, I'd be bloody well happy.
- 54:36We'd have to go at Weight Watchers next week.
- 54:39Okay.
- 54:40So keep going.
- 54:41I'm so sorry.
- 54:43It's just about a man that just can't get away from this woman that just keeps yapping his ear
- 54:49off.
- 54:50And and he hears nothing.
- 54:53It's like this.
- 54:54I hear nothing.
- 54:57So hence, the pictures of all the people doing this because it really is a song about this.
- 55:03Yeah.
- 55:04I get it.
- 55:05Trust me.
- 55:06I get it.
- 55:07From 10:00 to eleven.
- 55:11Right.
- 55:12Let's play it then.
- 55:12We have heard this before where it is absolutely already on the Sling Project Radio
- 55:17if you wanna listen to it.
- 55:18But if you're here now, come and listen to it.
- 59:22Don't they just love technology when it literally kicks you out of the stage literally
- 59:26by itself?
- 59:27It's just how I've got Bob in the background going, I've had enough of this rubbish.
- 59:30Get it off.
- 59:31Okay?
- 59:31And it literally kicked me out in the studio, and I was like, what's going on?
- 59:38And, also, the microphones aren't on as well.
- 59:39Look.
- 59:42That's actually a really, really, really great song.
- 59:46Hey, Michael.
- 59:47Really great song.
- 59:48I I apologize.
- 59:49I don't know if you heard me or anything.
- 59:50I was just basically saying that I felt as though Bubba kicked me out of the stage because
- 59:54I literally lost power.
- 59:56I apologies about that.
- 59:58I am back now.
- 59:59Hello.
- 1:00:00I did I hear that, and I hope the audience also heard it as well while I was being kicked out.
- 1:00:05It was great.
- 1:00:06I love the song.
- 1:00:08Absolutely love the song.
- 1:00:09And and, you know, it's I hope I hope you don't take this the wrong way.
- 1:00:19Because you cut
- 1:00:19I mean, before he
- 1:00:22No.
- 1:00:23I'm about to get out of here too.
- 1:00:24Okay, Greg.
- 1:00:24You're on your own.
- 1:00:26Do come you do come across very shy.
- 1:00:30You know?
- 1:00:30Like, you're not you definitely don't look like the extroverted one.
- 1:00:35You know, you seem a lot but your sound and your your guys' music is very, very
- 1:00:47contemporary.
- 1:00:48Like and it seems very grounded in there's a retro feel, but it's done very modern.
- 1:01:00You know?
- 1:01:00And that's kind of a really hard thing to do.
- 1:01:04You know?
- 1:01:04You're either you either go completely retro or you do something that's completely modern.
- 1:01:10But to take a retro sound and make it modern is really quite an achievement.
- 1:01:17And, yeah, you sound you sound like you're in your twenties.
- 1:01:28Like, you really do.
- 1:01:29Like, this song I would I would not stick picture your guys' face as the group that sang
- 1:01:36that song.
- 1:01:37I tell you what, if you're talking about, like, twenties, look at these compliments from Mandy.
- 1:01:41Reminds me of.
- 1:01:44It's Or
- 1:01:45it reminds me of talking heads.
- 1:01:47There you go, you two.
- 1:01:48What a compliment, being compared to REM and talking heads.
- 1:01:52Yeah.
- 1:01:52I just you guys are really good.
- 1:01:55But I do agree with you, Michael.
- 1:01:57And I've told him this, He agrees.
- 1:02:02Who wants to watch two old people?
- 1:02:05God's like, no one.
- 1:02:06No one wants to watch two old people.
- 1:02:08Alright.
- 1:02:09Hang on a minute.
- 1:02:09Let's get an argument sorted out.
- 1:02:11Okay?
- 1:02:11This is really, really impressive.
- 1:02:13Okay?
- 1:02:13And I can answer this question for you right now.
- 1:02:15But he brought that.
- 1:02:17Got a bit I got bit.
- 1:02:18This is an embarrassing thing to me to have to admit.
- 1:02:21Okay?
- 1:02:21My goal.
- 1:02:22I take
- 1:02:22it, bro.
- 1:02:23I can do
- 1:02:23it as a compliment.
- 1:02:24I think it's a compliment.
- 1:02:25Okay.
- 1:02:25I went on TikTok the other day, and my numbers are at one point one thousand one hundred.
- 1:02:34My auntie who is 76, and if I get this wrong, I'm sorry, auntie Carol, I'm impressed.
- 1:02:41Who is 76 and done a Nana's chat show is at 1,600.
- 1:02:48I'm being beaten by my auntie.
- 1:02:50I'm 49 years old.
- 1:02:51She's, like, 76, and she's got 1,600 followers.
- 1:02:55And, like, when she goes on the camera, there's, like, a 100 or 200 people watching at
- 1:03:00the same time.
- 1:03:01So I'm sorry.
- 1:03:01Age does not come into this and that my auntie Carol says so.
- 1:03:05She obviously does something right.
- 1:03:06You know what I mean?
- 1:03:08The bot you know, the bottom line is that, yes, I you do not look like the kind of artist that
- 1:03:21it would put up put this out.
- 1:03:24Now Orlys looks a little bit more contemporary kind of.
- 1:03:30Like, I could see her getting away with kind of Melissa Etheridge, you know, Bonnie Raitt,
- 1:03:40although you're younger than Bonnie, but, you know, that kind of vibe.
- 1:03:44He looks like just a super nice guy that was your science professor in in junior high.
- 1:03:54You know?
- 1:03:55And he
- 1:03:55On a good day.
- 1:03:56Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:57To hear hear these songs, you know, they're they're they're really quite good.
- 1:04:03Would people come see you?
- 1:04:05Yes.
- 1:04:05I think they would because good music is just good music.
- 1:04:09And, you know, if you if you strike the chord and find the right audience, they're not gonna
- 1:04:14give a shit if you're, you know, three years away from Metamucil or not if they don't care.
- 1:04:20You know?
- 1:04:21They they they're not gonna care, which is why you have people like
- 1:04:25And he says he says the same thing about himself.
- 1:04:27He's trying to tell AJ and Michael that AJ really isn't, like, a a problem.
- 1:04:31You look at Randy and those belters of a voice that he comes out with, and it's like, OMG.
- 1:04:36When he tries to tell us his age, we still think he's 25.
- 1:04:39Yeah.
- 1:04:40I I I was you know what?
- 1:04:41I was just gonna bring that up.
- 1:04:43You know, this guy is he said he's 76.
- 1:04:48There's no way he's 76.
- 1:04:51There's no way.
- 1:04:52There's absolutely no way.
- 1:04:53Because he sounds like he He was, you know, putting together a, you know, a a punk not a
- 1:05:05punk band, but an alternative rock band in the February.
- 1:05:08His voice is crisp and raw and strong, and there's no way.
- 1:05:12He you know, there's no way he's that age.
- 1:05:15There's no way.
- 1:05:16It's it's for him, it's American.
- 1:05:19There's no way.
- 1:05:20You know, you guys are the same way.
- 1:05:22I you know, your music is really cool.
- 1:05:25It's and it is very hard to define.
- 1:05:28You know?
- 1:05:29And I think I like that.
- 1:05:30It's got you know, I would definitely say you have an alternative sound, and I think that's
- 1:05:39what brings a lot of youth into it is because alternative can bend a little bit.
- 1:05:46They can go outside the box.
- 1:05:48They can steal and snag elements from other things and put it together.
- 1:05:54It's kind of like a gumbo.
- 1:05:55Alternative, you know, alternative rock, alternative blues, alternative jazz.
- 1:06:00You know, it's kind of like gumbo.
- 1:06:03And so I think
- 1:06:04his name right.
- 1:06:06He's, like, number one on his age.
- 1:06:07Okay?
- 1:06:08He's not 76.
- 1:06:10Okay?
- 1:06:10He is, drum roll, everybody, 69.
- 1:06:14Oh, well, what a great year.
- 1:06:16So, anyway You
- 1:06:18you just aged him seven years.
- 1:06:22Okay.
- 1:06:23Put your denture cream away.
- 1:06:24Okay.
- 1:06:24So so no.
- 1:06:29Six but still 69.
- 1:06:31What?
- 1:06:33So I like your stuff, and I really sincerely mean that.
- 1:06:39Really, really like no songs.
- 1:06:42Do would you guys like to tour?
- 1:06:47I would if I thought I could handle it yeah.
- 1:06:50Yeah.
- 1:06:51Me too.
- 1:06:51Oh, I think it would
- 1:06:52be so fun.
- 1:06:53Oh, look
- 1:06:53at her.
- 1:06:54She's like, yeah.
- 1:06:55Yeah.
- 1:06:56It would be so fun.
- 1:06:58Oh, I'd love it.
- 1:06:58Oh, okay.
- 1:06:59We're gonna go on tour.
- 1:07:02Oh, did you say did
- 1:07:03you hear that as an offer?
- 1:07:05Hang on.
- 1:07:05I'm just gonna make sure that this is recorded in your contract, Michael.
- 1:07:08Okay?
- 1:07:09So just make it a couple of additions.
- 1:07:11Michael No.
- 1:07:12I mean he
- 1:07:13will take that and it's on tour together.
- 1:07:16No.
- 1:07:16I'm I'm over 50.
- 1:07:19Oh.
- 1:07:20Oh, no.
- 1:07:21Oh, god.
- 1:07:22And so I know have more energy over 50.
- 1:07:31I actually am singing better today than I was twenty years ago.
- 1:07:39I really am.
- 1:07:40Like, I'm I'm I'm I'm not saying I'm amazing, so that's not what I'm getting.
- 1:07:46And everybody's, oh, god.
- 1:07:47You think you're so great.
- 1:07:48No.
- 1:07:48I don't think that.
- 1:07:49I'm just saying that I sound better now than I did twenty years ago.
- 1:07:52I like this.
- 1:07:54Mandy's like, Michael, shush.
- 1:07:56I need to have a go at you for calling me out at the wrong age.
- 1:07:59Mandy's like, stop making me feel older.
- 1:08:03I love you, Mandy.
- 1:08:04I think it's really
- 1:08:05old.
- 1:08:05Side.
- 1:08:06Okay.
- 1:08:08Randy Okay.
- 1:08:10Listen.
- 1:08:10I think we should get to the next song because you've upset about him.
- 1:08:12Sounds like he's about 32.
- 1:08:14No.
- 1:08:14You've upset him now.
- 1:08:15We need
- 1:08:16to get to the next But I'm gonna say the same thing.
- 1:08:18To the next song, okay, because you've upset one of our audience members.
- 1:08:21So let's do the next song, Les.
- 1:08:23I'll see if I can calm him down.
- 1:08:25Okay?
- 1:08:25I'll see if I can calm him down.
- 1:08:27Let's play another song.
- 1:08:28You're the one that told me he was 76.
- 1:08:31Right.
- 1:08:31You've upset him now.
- 1:08:32Okay.
- 1:08:32Let's let's get on to this next song here.
- 1:08:34Okay?
- 1:08:34So our next song on our list, okay, is stop your crying.
- 1:08:39Is this the actual because I got kicked out.
- 1:08:42Is this the right graphic for stop your crying?
- 1:08:45Yeah.
- 1:08:46It is the right graphic.
- 1:08:47That's the one.
- 1:08:48That's the one.
- 1:08:49Okay.
- 1:08:49So do you wanna explain a bit about stop your crying, and then I will put it on for you.
- 1:08:53Is that you two in the cab of the truck?
- 1:08:56No.
- 1:08:56It's not.
- 1:08:57It's not.
- 1:08:58It's not.
- 1:08:59I wrote this about a friend of mine.
- 1:09:01His was a little bit more personal on my side.
- 1:09:04Okay.
- 1:09:05So I got to sing it, actually.
- 1:09:07This is
- 1:09:07the first
- 1:09:07time this is the first time that I got lead vocal.
- 1:09:14So, it's exciting there.
- 1:09:17But this was about a person who didn't wanna, like, be my friend, and and I couldn't
- 1:09:24understand why the person does not wanna be my friend.
- 1:09:32So be your friend, Orlys.
- 1:09:34You're beautiful.
- 1:09:35Just a loving person.
- 1:09:37We're your friends, aren't we, Michael?
- 1:09:39Thank you.
- 1:09:39So, like, it sorta made me sad, and so I wrote this song.
- 1:09:43And, and this is for a person who did not wanna become my friend.
- 1:09:49I'm quite upset now.
- 1:09:51I've got I've got you.
- 1:09:53It's their
- 1:09:55It's their loss.
- 1:09:55Yeah.
- 1:09:56Definitely.
- 1:09:56We've got you in our family now.
- 1:10:00I'm glad to be here.
- 1:10:02Thank you.
- 1:10:02So to all those haters out there, these They're going out on tour.
- 1:10:11Fantastic.
- 1:10:12Stop crying is next.
- 1:10:14Okay?
- 1:10:15Enjoy everyone.
- 1:10:16Let's say stop crying.
- 1:10:17Okay?
- 1:10:18Michael, stop crying.
- 1:10:41Go out and build some memories.
- 1:10:49Don't let him steal your childhood dreams.
- 1:14:22Alright.
- 1:14:23So so
- 1:14:25I'm going to say this, and I mean this sincerely.
- 1:14:33I like your voice.
- 1:14:36I like hearing you take lead.
- 1:14:40I think your voice is exactly what I expect from the way you look, and I mean that in a
- 1:14:48good compliment.
- 1:14:48I love that, Michael.
- 1:14:50It is it is there's a throwback to it of a very classic semi lady rock.
- 1:15:03You know?
- 1:15:05There's to me, it feels like it feels like the kind of voice you used to hear before a lot of
- 1:15:17auto tune and pop effects came in and a lot of over delay and all that, where the voice was
- 1:15:26just very, very raw and present and had to have character and had to have, you know, a a grit
- 1:15:34to it and had to be able to, you know, tell a story and and set a mood.
- 1:15:41And I I like that.
- 1:15:43I I think that one of your guys' strengths as as artists, honestly, is that it's not an
- 1:15:53overly processed produced sound.
- 1:15:57It's it does feel like it's it's at a time when we didn't have technology to fix and repair
- 1:16:08things, that you either had to have the goods and and sound good or you just sucked.
- 1:16:15You know?
- 1:16:16It was there was no way of decorating the turd to look like a cake.
- 1:16:22You know?
- 1:16:22And I think that's really cool.
- 1:16:24I think you're
- 1:16:25You come out with these things.
- 1:16:28And you're like, decorating a turd dressed up as a cake.
- 1:16:34So what you're do, you know, it's still gonna be a cakes.
- 1:16:37You know, I don't care what kind of frosting.
- 1:16:39It's gonna still be a shit sandwich.
- 1:16:41So it's like So I I really like you too.
- 1:16:47I really do.
- 1:16:47And I I think I like you because it is authentic.
- 1:16:52It's real, but it's good.
- 1:16:55Like, your voice is good.
- 1:16:57You know, you have a you have a very solid voice, and it works.
- 1:17:03You know, the advantage is you get to arrange and and put the songs right where you want them
- 1:17:12to be.
- 1:17:13And I think that's incredibly smart.
- 1:17:15I don't think either one of you tries to do something that you're not capable of doing, and
- 1:17:21then it's like it's kind of a leap and and you cross your fingers.
- 1:17:25I feel like you just make solid music that actually complements you guys.
- 1:17:32I really do.
- 1:17:32It's it that was really an that was a really pleasant surprise.
- 1:17:37I tell you what.
- 1:17:38They're still going on about the age thing in the audience.
- 1:17:42They're having a, like, like, number of it, literally.
- 1:17:45Mitch has now come in and said to the, Mandy, age is only a number.
- 1:17:50And 59 is also just a number.
- 1:17:56Oh god.
- 1:17:56Bitch, thank you for looking after our audience for us.
- 1:17:59That's really lovely of you while we're having our show just to calm Mandy down.
- 1:18:02Okay?
- 1:18:03I'm sure he's absolutely fine.
- 1:18:04But, thank you for being the caring one.
- 1:18:06Okay?
- 1:18:06In the future.
- 1:18:07Gonna say something.
- 1:18:08I saw Tony Bennett when he was 89.
- 1:18:16Okay?
- 1:18:17What?
- 1:18:1889.
- 1:18:20And that man not only sounded amazing, he was in a a big showroom that probably sat 1,500,
- 1:18:34And he took his microphone and set it on the thing and sang an acapella song and filled that
- 1:18:45auditorium with just his voice.
- 1:18:49Like, it was beautiful, strong, full of passion, full of depth, such musicality.
- 1:18:59Age is just a number.
- 1:19:01If you get out there and you take care of your instrument and, you know, you're you're working
- 1:19:07at your craft, there's a reason why Cher turned 80.
- 1:19:1280.
- 1:19:14Oh, come on.
- 1:19:15Seriously, we
- 1:19:16don't have Cher's money, okay, and Botox treatment.
- 1:19:19I tell you, I'd love to have her.
- 1:19:21She yes.
- 1:19:22She's had some, obviously, some work done, but it doesn't really look there are some people
- 1:19:26that yeah.
- 1:19:27I got you
- 1:19:28the cow.
- 1:19:28Come on.
- 1:19:29I'm gonna I'm gonna be an
- 1:19:32artist manager.
- 1:19:33Okay?
- 1:19:34I'm charging you all for money so I can look like Simon Cowell.
- 1:19:38Okay?
- 1:19:38So I want his Botox treatment.
- 1:19:40So when I'm his age, I wanna and think.
- 1:19:44Smile.
- 1:19:44Oh,
- 1:19:46yes.
- 1:19:46I think you're wonderful.
- 1:19:48I don't feel like I I want his I want his treatment.
- 1:19:51I wanna keep going.
- 1:19:52Yeah.
- 1:19:53Look at Tony.
- 1:19:53Look Nobody's eyebrows are up here.
- 1:19:57Well, I I
- 1:19:57put it your downtime.
- 1:19:59What I have actually put down
- 1:20:01is Alan Cowell.
- 1:20:03In your contract, I have put Botox treatment.
- 1:20:05Okay?
- 1:20:06Wow.
- 1:20:06If if we need to put Botox in any artist's, like, contract, then we will look at those as
- 1:20:11an option for you.
- 1:20:12Okay?
- 1:20:13So when you go and tour with Michael, okay, you feel as though you're 25 again.
- 1:20:17Okay?
- 1:20:17Okay.
- 1:20:18We will look for that.
- 1:20:19Okay?
- 1:20:19I am so scared of the end of the year things.
- 1:20:22Oh, what a big start, I've got it.
- 1:20:25Our end of the year things, oh, they'll be like,
- 1:20:29Let's go to the next track because we're starting to get sleepy.
- 1:20:32Okay?
- 1:20:33And we've got people in bed now.
- 1:20:35You're just rambling.
- 1:20:37I know.
- 1:20:37Look at that.
- 1:20:38There's someone in bed.
- 1:20:39What's all this about?
- 1:20:40Oh, good.
- 1:20:42I'm glad that you asked, AJ.
- 1:20:43Glad you asked.
- 1:20:44Okay, Greg.
- 1:20:45Go ahead.
- 1:20:47That curtain only has one Volance.
- 1:20:50Mean, let's say this song is a the the song that influenced this song the most would be,
- 1:20:57Eric Burden, Spill the Wine.
- 1:21:01What was the name of the Spill the Wine?
- 1:21:03Take the or something?
- 1:21:05I forget the title.
- 1:21:06Yeah.
- 1:21:06I don't know if you guys know that record.
- 1:21:09It came out in the summer of nineteen seventy.
- 1:21:12I was like Eric's Burden from the Animals.
- 1:21:15He did that record.
- 1:21:16But, anyway, he fell asleep in grass, and then he had a dream.
- 1:21:22Well, this is basically a guy that's, he's got his alarm set.
- 1:21:27He's gotta get up to get to work, but he's got this fantasy dream going on.
- 1:21:32He doesn't wanna get up, and his alarm keeps going off.
- 1:21:35And that's that's what the song's about.
- 1:21:37Okay.
- 1:21:38I'll say it.
- 1:21:38He's got a hot chick between his legs.
- 1:21:41What?
- 1:21:42He doesn't wanna wake up.
- 1:21:46Hey.
- 1:21:46I wasn't even going down
- 1:21:48that route.
- 1:21:49But, Beth, you've you've scored points on my thing, especially with the t shirt as well
- 1:21:53tonight.
- 1:21:54That's the best comment, and that is definitely going to a real brilliant.
- 1:21:57Okay.
- 1:21:58Look at that, and I don't know what to look at now.
- 1:26:49Can I get the first burning point before Michael comes back on stage?
- 1:26:52I actually love that song.
- 1:26:54It's going on my playlist.
- 1:26:56Such a good song.
- 1:26:58It's really, really, really I love songs with, like, I'm one of these people.
- 1:27:03I don't know what it is about me, but as soon as I hear a really good guitar riff, I
- 1:27:07absolutely love it.
- 1:27:09It's there's something about songs where when that sort of thing comes in, it was brilliant.
- 1:27:14And voice wise, wow.
- 1:27:16Again, an absolutely amazing track.
- 1:27:18We're amazing boys.
- 1:27:21I've upset Michael now.
- 1:27:22Sorry.
- 1:27:22I wanted to jump in first because I just loved it.
- 1:27:25It was I was really, really, like, walking here, I'll tell you.
- 1:27:28Sorry, Michael.
- 1:27:29Come on.
- 1:27:30You out you come, Michael.
- 1:27:32Okay.
- 1:27:32You can come back now.
- 1:27:33I'm only trying to win the competition at the end.
- 1:27:35It gets most scores, you know.
- 1:27:37Michael, back.
- 1:27:42There you go.
- 1:27:45You guys, I have to say, their their their mics are off.
- 1:27:51Are they?
- 1:27:52I'm sorry.
- 1:27:52They probably didn't answer any of my questions.
- 1:27:57There you go.
- 1:27:57Sorry about that.
- 1:27:58Okay.
- 1:27:59So
- 1:27:59down that I've got higher points than Michael.
- 1:28:02So I know you.
- 1:28:09Guys are really good.
- 1:28:10I I and I really sincerely mean that.
- 1:28:13That's there's no bullshit here.
- 1:28:16You're you guys are making music that, first of all, defies your look.
- 1:28:25And I think expectation it really does.
- 1:28:28There's just no way around that.
- 1:28:31Yeah.
- 1:28:32You're gonna be
- 1:28:32their fashion designer when you take them on tour?
- 1:28:35No.
- 1:28:35I I, you know, I think that the fact that they can be who they are and comfortable with who
- 1:28:44they are and still create and generate music that is that was that was just a good solid
- 1:28:53track.
- 1:28:55I would and I I I I know this sounds terrible, and I'm not judging a book by its cover, but
- 1:29:02never would I have pictured you two doing that.
- 1:29:04This I just I just wouldn't.
- 1:29:06You both she looks like a rocker girl.
- 1:29:09You know, like I said, she kinda gives me the
- 1:29:12Mel has of a rock chick look.
- 1:29:14I reckon she was a rock chick in her thirties.
- 1:29:16I reckon, like, there's some dark secrets we have with
- 1:29:19she's not in her thirties now.
- 1:29:22Oh, well, yes.
- 1:29:23She probably is 25 at least.
- 1:29:25See?
- 1:29:26Yeah.
- 1:29:29You know
- 1:29:29Woman never tells her age.
- 1:29:31Right.
- 1:29:31You know, you give you know, you give a really and it's not a dirty rocker chick.
- 1:29:39It's like a glamorous rocker chick.
- 1:29:42Like, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:29:44Because some rock rocker chicks, like, they look like they need a bath.
- 1:29:48Like, you look at them, and they're like, oh, that's a rocker chick, but Sorry
- 1:29:51to order rocker chicks out there.
- 1:29:52I've never known a rocker chick to need a bath.
- 1:29:54Okay?
- 1:29:55What?
- 1:29:56Then you've obviously don't have a nose.
- 1:30:00I need to go to LA.
- 1:30:01I need to come over to The US.
- 1:30:03I'm gonna meet some of these market chicks who need a bath.
- 1:30:06Well, you know what I mean.
- 1:30:07They just look grungy and dirty, and it's like, you know, you kinda come across, like, the
- 1:30:15classic era of rock.
- 1:30:17So, anyway but the music itself is so timely.
- 1:30:24Like, honestly, it would play on contemporary radio.
- 1:30:30And then they would invite you for an interview, and they'd be like Are you are you
- 1:30:39their parents?
- 1:30:41You're their
- 1:30:42parents.
- 1:30:43Take it up.
- 1:30:44Seriously.
- 1:30:46Because you guys have tapped into a sound that is uniquely yours but works on so many levels.
- 1:30:58Just really, really, really smart, good music.
- 1:31:03Like, seriously, you guys are really sincerely good.
- 1:31:07I I joke a lot, you know, but I don't throw compliments out unless they're earned.
- 1:31:14If you watch, I'm very select at what I say so that it doesn't come back and bite me in the
- 1:31:19ass and people go, dude.
- 1:31:21Know your we all
- 1:31:22know your trick now, Michael.
- 1:31:23If you don't like something, you go, yeah.
- 1:31:25That was good.
- 1:31:26So what next are we playing?
- 1:31:28Right.
- 1:31:28Yeah.
- 1:31:29So we
- 1:31:29know where Michael doesn't like something.
- 1:31:31Well, it's
- 1:31:32gonna be like, I I you know, nobody wants to hear that their song was shit.
- 1:31:37You know?
- 1:31:37So Yeah.
- 1:31:38They don't.
- 1:31:39That that's just the way it is.
- 1:31:41But I love the vocals.
- 1:31:43I love the arrangements.
- 1:31:45I love I love your guys' sound.
- 1:31:48And, again, it's the more is less kind of thing works for what you guys are doing.
- 1:31:57You know?
- 1:31:58There's not a big gigantic production, and the horns aren't you know?
- 1:32:03And it's just music.
- 1:32:05It's like it's a catchy riff.
- 1:32:08You know?
- 1:32:08It's it's good it's good words.
- 1:32:10It's a catchy melody.
- 1:32:13You know, vocals that suit the song, you know, that feel like you can tell it's hard to find a
- 1:32:22songwriter to write for a a singer unless they've worked together for a long time.
- 1:32:27Then you get, you know, Elton John and Tupin and and Meatloaf, you know, and his writer.
- 1:32:33They they got to know each other.
- 1:32:36There's something about songwriters writing for themselves and just saying, this is what I do,
- 1:32:43and I'm gonna do it.
- 1:32:44And you guys have really nailed that.
- 1:32:47I really, really do like that song.
- 1:32:50Okay.
- 1:32:50You've got one more song in the evening?
- 1:32:52Unless
- 1:32:54you two wanna answer that because I think you do.
- 1:32:57Jump in there.
- 1:32:58What do you wanna say?
- 1:33:00What?
- 1:33:00Island Girl?
- 1:33:01Yeah.
- 1:33:02It reminds this is this a little bit in in my history going to Jones Beach, Long Island in
- 1:33:09New York.
- 1:33:10I've been
- 1:33:10on Long Island.
- 1:33:12Yeah.
- 1:33:13So you know Ocean Parkway, and you know, yeah.
- 1:33:16Well, that it it gets some reference to that the feeling of that.
- 1:33:20That's about as much reference to it that there is, though.
- 1:33:24Not too much.
- 1:33:25True.
- 1:33:26Long Island.
- 1:33:28No.
- 1:33:29No.
- 1:33:29No.
- 1:33:29I'm not coming
- 1:33:30in the corner.
- 1:33:31It's going in the corner over there.
- 1:33:35This song is an actual play on an island girl.
- 1:33:40So if a person really island girl in Hawaii, they're thinking an island.
- 1:33:47So but yes.
- 1:33:50So an island girl on on this sense is not a person from Hawaii.
- 1:33:56It's a person from Long Island.
- 1:33:59Or Long Island.
- 1:34:02Two different places.
- 1:34:03Long Island.
- 1:34:04Which island you're on?
- 1:34:06Just enjoy it because I think it looks a beautiful island.
- 1:34:08Okay?
- 1:34:09So Island Gal is our last song of the night, everyone.
- 1:34:12Enjoy this last song, and we're gonna wrap up for the night, okay, with Hannon and all this.
- 1:34:17Any last questions that people would like to ask before we go, please get them in now
- 1:34:22because it's your last opportunity after this song.
- 1:34:25This is Ireland Go, everyone.
- 1:37:36No.
- 1:37:38Yeah.
- 1:37:39I I hate to repeat myself because it just sounds like I don't know what else to say.
- 1:37:47Your music is just good.
- 1:37:48There's just no way around it.
- 1:37:51You definitely you definitely will find an audience.
- 1:37:59There's there's absolutely no doubt in my mind.
- 1:38:02Seriously.
- 1:38:02It's just really kind of you know, I'm kind of a I one of the things that Jason and I do for
- 1:38:11fun, we have a yacht rock vocal group that we that we have that's called Retro Regatta.
- 1:38:22And so we do all the yacht rock stop stuff from the lates, you know, late seventies and early
- 1:38:28eighties and and do all that kind of music.
- 1:38:31And we love it.
- 1:38:33And there is definitely a flavor of that in your music, and there is definite people that
- 1:38:41love that kind of style, that kind of feel, that kind of just and you guys have captured
- 1:38:48that.
- 1:38:49Like, I really had no idea how really good you guys were.
- 1:38:55You know?
- 1:38:56Because everybody can well, not everybody, but, you know, some people can sneak a good song in
- 1:39:03there.
- 1:39:03It doesn't mean that they have, you know, the skill set to actually put an album together or
- 1:39:10do a show or, you know, create a fan base.
- 1:39:14I really honestly think you do.
- 1:39:16I I think your music is definitely has an audience.
- 1:39:20I really do.
- 1:39:21I really honestly believe that.
- 1:39:23I think that, you know, with the right push, you know, in the right direction and having
- 1:39:32someone find, you know, the the audience that is out there for you, you guys could be as busy
- 1:39:38as you wanted to be.
- 1:39:40I really you know, whether you just gigged, you know, a few times a month or if you guys wanted
- 1:39:48to set up, like, kind of a mini tour or whatever.
- 1:39:53I I just see you guys exploding from, you know, spring all the way until fall.
- 1:40:00You know, I just really feel like you guys really have a great sound.
- 1:40:06And don't let you know, god, don't let your age stop you because, good music is good music.
- 1:40:15And and I think people understand that, you know, because there are so many people, you
- 1:40:21know, from the eighties, you know, that are touring still, you know, and making music, and
- 1:40:27they're filling places up.
- 1:40:30You know?
- 1:40:31And it's just a matter of, you know, making sure your PR and your socials and, you know,
- 1:40:39you're getting out there and getting the exposure.
- 1:40:41But, honestly, I really like you guys.
- 1:40:44I really, seriously, genuinely, really like, and I love what you do.
- 1:40:50I would go see your show.
- 1:40:52I I would without a doubt, I would if if I knew you were playing somewhere, I would totally go
- 1:40:57see you guys.
- 1:40:58So that's that's my critique in a in a in a in a
- 1:41:05That's beautiful.
- 1:41:06And I think that, you know, that sort of that sort of wrap up because I think what we've got
- 1:41:11to and where we've got to at Phoenix Rise is basically looking for an image for you.
- 1:41:15You know, we went literally at your first journey, Beth, and we were thinking about, you
- 1:41:20know, how is this all gonna pan out.
- 1:41:21By the way, it looks as if you're going out to him whether you like it or not.
- 1:41:26You're literally going out.
- 1:41:28We are gonna be literally presenting the Hampton and Allis as a a Giro who are going out
- 1:41:33touring.
- 1:41:35Great ideas.
- 1:41:36Fantastic ideas.
- 1:41:37I'm so glad that you have got the feedback that you have got back.
- 1:41:41I don't know if Michael's taken a call or he basically is off because I'm talking, but,
- 1:41:47hopefully, he'll come back to us before the end of the show, everyone.
- 1:41:50But just to let you two know, you know, great potential tonight, amazing music tonight, and,
- 1:41:58basically, you know, let's just ride with it.
- 1:42:01We've got several months to work together.
- 1:42:03Let's work on some of these projects.
- 1:42:05Let's work on some of these ideas.
- 1:42:07You've already welcomed yourself to Phoenix Rise with that amazing t shirt of yours.
- 1:42:11I tell you what, I need a graphic designer in my shop.
- 1:42:14When I open my shop, say, Beth, I know who I'm gonna be coming to to, like, sort out my
- 1:42:18clothes, in my, merchandise store because that looks amazing, and I think I'm gonna nick that
- 1:42:23idea.
- 1:42:23But, you know, I'm I'm just I'm really excited by where this is going for you two.
- 1:42:30I tonight, please, as an audience, you know, look up Hannon and Ollis.
- 1:42:36Okay?
- 1:42:36Look up their social media.
- 1:42:39Make sure that you download their songs.
- 1:42:42And if you want to work with them, they are open to working with you, you know, but they
- 1:42:47may not have much time because they may be on the next plane over to The UK as the tour is
- 1:42:52coming up.
- 1:42:53Okay?
- 1:42:53So Where
- 1:42:54do you guys live?
- 1:42:55If you wanna get hold of them, then please do.
- 1:42:57Where do you live?
- 1:42:59Prescott, New Jersey.
- 1:43:01New Jersey?
- 1:43:02Yeah.
- 1:43:04Yeah.
- 1:43:05I love East Coast people.
- 1:43:07Yay.
- 1:43:08Okay.
- 1:43:09What?
- 1:43:11Love East Coast people.
- 1:43:13Oh, cool.
- 1:43:13So you're going over there tomorrow then.
- 1:43:15Right.
- 1:43:15Okay.
- 1:43:15So before the end of the show, I will give him Michael their address.
- 1:43:19He's gonna fly over there.
- 1:43:20Okay?
- 1:43:21Be honest.
- 1:43:24What is your guys' plan?
- 1:43:26So you have this you you actually you have you honestly have some really good music,
- 1:43:33obviously.
- 1:43:34And so what is your plan?
- 1:43:37Where where were you what are you doing next?
- 1:43:40Our plan is to release more songs.
- 1:43:45Gotta finish this mix there.
- 1:43:47That's for sure.
- 1:43:47Yeah.
- 1:43:48We're working on a song right now.
- 1:43:49It's up on the, on the board right now.
- 1:43:53We can't we can't we can't keep up with we I mean, I know writing a lot doesn't mean
- 1:44:00anything, but we write so many songs now.
- 1:44:03I can't keep up recording them.
- 1:44:05Do you do you have enough for an album?
- 1:44:08We have enough for probably, like, two albums at least right now.
- 1:44:12Do yourself a favor.
- 1:44:14Okay?
- 1:44:17Because you don't wanna sit with just an onslaught of music, and then you're going, what
- 1:44:21the hell do I do?
- 1:44:24Pick pick your top 12 or 14 and try assembling your first album or you know?
- 1:44:34And think about your brand.
- 1:44:38Think about what it is you want to say about not only your music, but about you.
- 1:44:45Okay?
- 1:44:46So you have a plethora of music.
- 1:44:47You have a catalog now.
- 1:44:49You can pick the very best that will define you.
- 1:44:53Then when you do that, you need to jump in and start working with people that will promote
- 1:45:03you, you know, manage you, get have some contacts for you.
- 1:45:09I really honestly truly believe this.
- 1:45:12I really think there's an audience for you guys.
- 1:45:14I don't think you're just making music so that you can put it out.
- 1:45:18I think you guys have something that people are gonna really not only like, they're gonna wanna
- 1:45:25experience live.
- 1:45:27You know, they're gonna wanna see what you guys do.
- 1:45:30So I what?
- 1:45:34What?
- 1:45:35Well, as far as far as an album, maybe I'm thinking the old fashioned way.
- 1:45:41Our songs don't have anything to do they're like singles.
- 1:45:44You know?
- 1:45:44Doesn't it can an album not be like Steely Dan album, like a concept thing?
- 1:45:49Oh, no.
- 1:45:49No.
- 1:45:50Steely yeah.
- 1:45:50God.
- 1:45:51I lost.
- 1:45:52We were Even though Fagan even though Fagan is just a complete asshole.
- 1:45:57I agree.
- 1:45:57I'm being reminded by Showtimes.
- 1:45:59Okay?
- 1:46:00Well, Richard, bless him.
- 1:46:01At the end of the show, we are literally switching off soon.
- 1:46:04Okay?
- 1:46:05He has mowed the lawn.
- 1:46:06He has shaved the sheep.
- 1:46:08I mean and sorry.
- 1:46:09He had shaved the sheep.
- 1:46:10There's no sheep there.
- 1:46:11How long have we been on?
- 1:46:12He has
- 1:46:13shaved and
- 1:46:13slept How long have we been on?
- 1:46:15Do you know how
- 1:46:16long we've been on Michael Cagle?
- 1:46:18One hour and forty six minutes.
- 1:46:21In The UK, we are now at ten to eight in the evening.
- 1:46:24So okay.
- 1:46:24So here's I wanna answer this question.
- 1:46:27No.
- 1:46:27You don't have to have a concept album, but you do want to define what your brand is, what your
- 1:46:34sound is.
- 1:46:35If you can keep you know, if you can have a theme kind of or, you know, an underlining
- 1:46:41current, like, my album was Confessions of a Broken Child.
- 1:46:46A lot of my songs talk about healing or being, you know, not broken anymore and that kind of
- 1:46:53thing.
- 1:46:55You don't need to have a theme.
- 1:46:56It doesn't have to be like mister Roboto where it's a, you know, a concept album.
- 1:47:01But you do wanna establish your brand.
- 1:47:05Find your best songs that say who you are.
- 1:47:08You know?
- 1:47:08And it can be your brand can be the theme.
- 1:47:13We are this.
- 1:47:14This is the kind of stuff that we do.
- 1:47:16But find your top 12 or 14 and then put together that album.
- 1:47:22And I really mean that.
- 1:47:24I really, really mean that.
- 1:47:25You guys have something really special.
- 1:47:28Yes.
- 1:47:28Do you know what?
- 1:47:29I'm actually gonna let Yes.
- 1:47:30Thank you.
- 1:47:31I hope our music man manager is
- 1:47:34Well, I hope he's watching.
- 1:47:35I hope he's listening to this under the table.
- 1:47:37Okay?
- 1:47:38Just say, hang on a minute.
- 1:47:39Are you listening, AJ?
- 1:47:41Yeah.
- 1:47:42Yeah.
- 1:47:42He's listening.
- 1:47:43Okay.
- 1:47:43He's he's got he's calling.
- 1:47:45Okay?
- 1:47:45He he calling us in.
- 1:47:46Okay?
- 1:47:47I give AJ a lot of shit, but AJ knows his stuff.
- 1:47:52And and one thing about him, he's incredibly he's fiercely loyal and will really work for
- 1:47:59somebody.
- 1:48:00And but give him as much as you can give him, it makes his job that much easier.
- 1:48:07And just you don't wanna be a group with just singles.
- 1:48:10So you wanna put an album together.
- 1:48:13You definitely want to say, oh, wow.
- 1:48:16Here's our 14 songs.
- 1:48:18This really establishes kind of what we're about.
- 1:48:23And then hit that release on that.
- 1:48:25Because once you go from singles to album, it's a lot easier to promote you.
- 1:48:31You know, these guys are having an album out now.
- 1:48:33It's not just because a lot of people are putting singles out.
- 1:48:38Take that next step.
- 1:48:39And that's the only thing that I think and then that gives AJ a lot of ammunition to go out
- 1:48:45there and do that.
- 1:48:46But then be prepared because I think your sound and what you guys do is gonna be very catchy.
- 1:48:53I I really, really, really, really do.
- 1:48:55I really think you guys is
- 1:48:58gonna come from the audience.
- 1:48:59You have got a fan club, YouTube.
- 1:49:01Yep.
- 1:49:02And this is with your image.
- 1:49:04You have already got your fan club.
- 1:49:06Okay?
- 1:49:06Richard says, h and o forever.
- 1:49:09Okay?
- 1:49:10Randy says, good luck with your career.
- 1:49:12We are basically there for you.
- 1:49:14Oh my god.
- 1:49:15We're gonna have fans, okay, all over the world by the time we finish you with you here at
- 1:49:20Phoenix, guys.
- 1:49:20Yeah.
- 1:49:21I'm gonna wrap
- 1:49:21up the show there for everybody.
- 1:49:23I'm gonna say goodnight.
- 1:49:24It is the weekend, everybody.
- 1:49:26Go and enjoy your weekend, whatever you do.
- 1:49:28Enjoy your weekend.
- 1:49:30Happy Memorial weekend.
- 1:49:32Everybody in The States
- 1:49:34stop getting me off.
- 1:49:36I didn't.
- 1:49:38Happy Memorial weekend, all Us stateside people.
- 1:49:43Say the Michael Cagle show.
- 1:49:45But okay.
- 1:49:46An absolute pleasure, Michael, because I just love this show, and I just laugh the whole time
- 1:49:53through.
- 1:49:53And this is my favorite show.
- 1:49:55I can't even miss it.
- 1:49:56I'd set my alarm to it.
- 1:49:57It's so for me to be on.
- 1:49:59Oh, Michael Cagle.
- 1:50:02I'm sorry, AJ.
- 1:50:03But Michael just is just the best.
- 1:50:07That
- 1:50:11was good.
- 1:50:14This show has been interrupted because AJ is now having a meltdown.
- 1:50:19I hope you enjoyed it.
- 1:50:20I hope you enjoyed the sounds.
- 1:50:23I'm carrying it on.
- 1:50:25No.
- 1:50:25I
- 1:50:26hope you've enjoyed the sounds.
- 1:50:28I've had an I'm fan of you guys.
- 1:50:29Have a
- 1:50:30really good weekend.
- 1:50:30Okay?
- 1:50:31Goodbye, everybody.
- 1:50:33AJ is now going to cry.
- 1:50:35Bye bye.
- 1:50:36Like this.
- 1:50:36Say goodbye, Michael.
- 1:50:38Bye.
- 1:50:41Bye.
