- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on your I sure will. Good morning everybody you're
- 0:07Speaker 1: listening to the voice, come on dig me now. One
- 0:11Speaker 1: and only Steve Harley got a radio show today. I
- 0:16Speaker 1: want to just share something with you along your way
- 0:25Speaker 1: to wherever it is you're trying to get to. You know,
- 0:27Speaker 1: everybody has a different definition for success, and I'm not
- 0:32Speaker 1: here to tell you what yours should be. I mean,
- 0:34Speaker 1: please pursue whatever you think success is. Aim as high
- 0:39Speaker 1: as you can, though, that's for sure. My father used
- 0:44Speaker 1: to say all the time. I'm sure you all have
- 0:46Speaker 1: heard it in different variations, but he used to always say,
- 0:49Speaker 1: aim for the moon. Just in case you miss, you'll
- 0:52Speaker 1: still be amongst the stars. Just say that to me
- 0:55Speaker 1: all the time. So that always was in me to
- 0:58Speaker 1: aim high. Now he wasn't saying aim with the intent
- 1:04Speaker 1: to miss. He was just saying aim in case you miss,
- 1:09Speaker 1: you'll steal me amongst the stars. If you aim for
- 1:12Speaker 1: the moon. But if you just aim for that first
- 1:15Speaker 1: flow window and you miss it, you know, usually run
- 1:20Speaker 1: into some type of wall and nothing happens. You slither down.
- 1:24Speaker 1: You know. In my book, act like a lady, think
- 1:26Speaker 1: like a man. I told her people that me in
- 1:28Speaker 1: love three ways. They profess, they provide, they protect, and
- 1:32Speaker 1: that's the core essence of a man's love. Well, there's
- 1:36Speaker 1: some other PE's in life too. The number one thing
- 1:40Speaker 1: you have to understand about trying to be successful, and
- 1:46Speaker 1: I guess I'll call this the four p's. I may
- 1:48Speaker 1: come up with five along the way. I don't know.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I'm just talking as it's given to me. So I'm
- 1:54Speaker 1: gonna summer start by saying that these are the four
- 1:57Speaker 1: PE's of success that you have to get ready for.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Number one is pressure. A lot of it is applied
- 2:06Speaker 1: by the circumstance of what you're trying to go for
- 2:09Speaker 1: and what you're trying to do, but a lot of
- 2:14Speaker 1: it also is self imposed pressure. It's what you put
- 2:18Speaker 1: on yourself to make it. It's a sense of urgency,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's a sense of necessity. But pressure is the first
- 2:30Speaker 1: thing I want you to be ready for. And pressure
- 2:33Speaker 1: comes in a lot of different forms, but it's going
- 2:36Speaker 1: to be pressured. As an old saying that pressure buster
- 2:38Speaker 1: to pipe. See that's why most people turn around because
- 2:41Speaker 1: of the pressure of trying to be successful. I want
- 2:44Speaker 1: you to get it in your mind that it is
- 2:47Speaker 1: going to be a pressure rize situation on your rise
- 2:51Speaker 1: to the top. Pressure, but understanding that is what it
- 2:56Speaker 1: is is not going to change. That's it. Prepare yourself,
- 3:01Speaker 1: get ready for there to be pressure. The second thing
- 3:07Speaker 1: I want you to understand is when you receive this pressure,
- 3:10Speaker 1: you have to persist. You got to stay at it.
- 3:15Speaker 1: You got to develop a dog illness. Hez A. There's
- 3:22Speaker 1: a song how that says, why must I feel like that?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Why must I chase the cat? Nothing but the dog
- 3:32Speaker 1: in me? That's a funny line in that song, because
- 3:37Speaker 1: really I was thinking about it one day. I was
- 3:39Speaker 1: humming it and and it occurred to me, said, why
- 3:44Speaker 1: must I feel like that? Why must I chase the cat?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Nothing but the dog in me? And you know, now,
- 3:53Speaker 1: you could take it in the literal sense that a
- 3:55Speaker 1: cat chases the dog because it's innately, it's in his
- 3:59Speaker 1: spirit and dogs are a lot of times enemies. Now
- 4:03Speaker 1: people have pets in him proven that if you show
- 4:06Speaker 1: love on both sides, they can exist. And that happens too,
- 4:09Speaker 1: but naturally innately, when your cat goes by a dog
- 4:13Speaker 1: and your dog don't recognize him, there's some barking going on.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm talking about just walking through the neighborhood or something. So.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But the reason that this dog is so persistent towards
- 4:26Speaker 1: this cat is just cause it's in him. It's innately
- 4:31Speaker 1: in him. And what I'm saying to you, just using
- 4:35Speaker 1: that as an analogy, is that you got to be
- 4:40Speaker 1: you got to be persistent in that. You got to
- 4:45Speaker 1: develop some dog in you now, because pressure takes some
- 4:49Speaker 1: fighting back. See if you don't fight back against pressure,
- 4:53Speaker 1: pressure buster pipe, So what you think it'll do to you?
- 4:56Speaker 1: Pressure crack walls, pressure calls explosion. So if you don't
- 5:01Speaker 1: fight back to hold it in, you understand pressure does
- 5:05Speaker 1: most people in the simple thing called pressure, the weight
- 5:11Speaker 1: of what it feels like to want to be successful
- 5:13Speaker 1: every single day, over and over and over and over
- 5:17Speaker 1: and over. It's just too much pressure. People crack. You
- 5:20Speaker 1: got to persist. You have to persist. You can the
- 5:26Speaker 1: thought of giving up can come, but you got to
- 5:28Speaker 1: get it out. You got to persist. The next thing
- 5:34Speaker 1: I want you to think about is another something that
- 5:38Speaker 1: I've been thinking about for years and learned for years.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It's called perseverance. To persist means to insist, a keyword
- 5:48Speaker 1: in incest, and persistence insists you must you must insist
- 5:53Speaker 1: that this is going to happen. Now, the persist I'm
- 5:57Speaker 1: assuming means it's a proaction. It's some type of proaction
- 6:01Speaker 1: that you go towards it to make it. You know, persist,
- 6:05Speaker 1: you gotta be persistent. You gotta be constantly at insisting
- 6:09Speaker 1: that it happens. You gotta be constantly at it. But
- 6:12Speaker 1: the next thing I want you to remember is perseverance.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Perseverance is important. Perseverance means that when you've done your best,
- 6:22Speaker 1: when you've persisted, when you're fighting back against the pressure.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Perseverance simply means I'm going to hang in here. If
- 6:32Speaker 1: a crack come into pipe, I'm gonna hang in there.
- 6:36Speaker 1: If the pipe bust, I'm gonna keep going. If I
- 6:39Speaker 1: got to put duct, take mud, whatever I got to
- 6:43Speaker 1: put on this thing, man, I'm gonna use perseverance. I'm
- 6:48Speaker 1: going to stay with it no matter what. So we're
- 6:52Speaker 1: looking at the three things again. You got to understand
- 6:56Speaker 1: that it's gonna be pressure that you're gonna have to persist.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Key word in persistence insists you have to insist that
- 7:04Speaker 1: no matter what the pressure is, I'm gonna stay with it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: But then perseverance, if it goes wrong. Man, you got
- 7:11Speaker 1: to get in there and keep fighting. But then, Lord
- 7:15Speaker 1: have mercy. Nothing helps you handle the three peas better
- 7:19Speaker 1: than the fourth p You got to pray. You got
- 7:22Speaker 1: to use prayer. You got to talk to God. You
- 7:26Speaker 1: gotta use faith. You gotta have some conferences with him
- 7:30Speaker 1: late at night, early in the morning, in the middle
- 7:33Speaker 1: of the afternoon, when you're on the train, when you're driving.
- 7:36Speaker 1: You got to talk to God. Man, you got to
- 7:38Speaker 1: get yourself some help along the way. Nothing is bigger
- 7:42Speaker 1: than prayer. There is nothing bigger than prayer. Prayer will
- 7:45Speaker 1: help you overcome the pressure. Prayer will help you stay persistent,
- 7:49Speaker 1: and Lord have mercy, Prayer will help you persevere them.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Mister faux pease, God gave that to me. I'm passing
- 7:58Speaker 1: it on to the Steve Harvey Morning Show
