- 0:12Speaker 3: the show you got a brand new album that is
- 0:15Speaker 3: out and um we're talking revenge opera what is revenge
- 0:19Speaker 3: opera oh Yes.
- 0:22Speaker 1: What is that? It's a revenge opera.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Well, The Outlaws Sherry Lee is a Western revenge tale
- 0:27Speaker 4: that follows a character, a heroine named Sherry Lee who
- 0:31Speaker 4: is looking to pretty much enact revenge against a group
- 0:35Speaker 4: of outlaws who I lead in this album.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It's an epic. It's Western. It's awesome. It's got love,
- 0:44Speaker 1: everything in it.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Yeah, and the album also has voice narration from celebrities
- 0:49Speaker 5: on it like, Jamie Foxx. How did that come about?
- 0:52Speaker 4: I think really when I was building this world out,
- 0:55Speaker 4: I always knew there needed to be a narrator. And
- 0:57Speaker 4: I just wanted to call on some of my favorite
- 1:00Speaker 4: Western heroes like Sam Elliott and Jamie Foxx.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Well, why not? Why not? Yeah, exactly. Look at that,
- 1:07Speaker 1: beat me to it.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Hey man, a bar song obviously blew up all over
- 1:11Speaker 2: the world. I remember being camping with some of my
- 1:13Speaker 2: friends and we were on the beers and one of
- 1:16Speaker 2: my mates just kept playing it repeatedly. I mean, like
- 1:21Speaker 2: it was nonstop. Have you, it was such a big hit.
- 1:26Speaker 4: How many times did he play it before you were like,
- 1:29Speaker 4: all right, that's enough? Well, you know what?
- 1:31Speaker 2: The funny thing is it was never enough. It was
- 1:33Speaker 2: all weekend and he kept on playing it, playing it,
- 1:34Speaker 2: playing it, playing it. I remember us dancing around the
- 1:36Speaker 2: bloody campfire singing it, but it's one of these songs,
- 1:40Speaker 2: especially at the time was just so big, but you
- 1:43Speaker 2: didn't get enough of it.
- 1:44Speaker 4: What about you?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Have you had enough of a bar song?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Oh, never enough. Never.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I can't get enough of it. I can't get enough
- 1:52Speaker 4: of it. Play it right now. Play it right now.
- 1:54Speaker 4: I'll start singing.
- 1:55Speaker 3: All right, here we go.
- 1:55Speaker 4: I'll sing it.
- 1:56Speaker 5: You know, it's sealed in my mind, that campfire.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Like, I just every time I hear it.
- 2:01Speaker 1: The camera's moving. I was moving.
- 2:03Speaker 4: The camera started dancing when the song came on.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I mean, this song would have just changed your life, though. Obviously,
- 2:17Speaker 2: you can't dislike it. But when it blew up, do
- 2:21Speaker 2: you just remember overnight how different your life became?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 4: It was honestly so cool to just see it kind
- 2:28Speaker 4: of real time. Because, you know, with streams, you can
- 2:30Speaker 4: go back and see it.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Like my mate.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I think the minute it.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Came out, there were already 100,000 people listening to it.
- 2:39Speaker 5: 100,000 of them were his mates.
- 2:40Speaker 4: In the first minute. So, you know, at the start.
- 2:43Speaker 4: So I know 100,000 of those people are probably still
- 2:47Speaker 4: listening to it. So shout out that first 100,000 people
- 2:50Speaker 4: who started the chain reaction.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It changed my life.
- 2:53Speaker 5: Hey, I want to know what was your I made
- 2:56Speaker 5: it moment? Because I love seeing those videos online where
- 2:58Speaker 5: it's like someone up on stage and they see how
- 3:01Speaker 5: many people are singing their song back to them. You
- 3:04Speaker 5: can just see it written on their face. Do you
- 3:07Speaker 5: have one of those?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I would say probably like there's so many of them.
- 3:11Speaker 4: But I remember that my first festival performing at I
- 3:16Speaker 4: think it was Love and Life Festival, maybe.
- 3:17Speaker 1: So it was in it was in Carolina, North Carolina.
- 3:19Speaker 4: And I remember just going out there and I think
- 3:22Speaker 4: I was performing at like 430, you know, really, really
- 3:25Speaker 4: heat of the heat of the sun. And I get
- 3:27Speaker 4: on stage and it was like 10,000 people singing the song.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Wow.
- 3:31Speaker 4: That was a couple of couple of weeks after the
- 3:33Speaker 4: song came out. And stagecoach that year was amazing. There's
- 3:36Speaker 4: so many, so many moments.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Another one of those moments would have had to have
- 3:41Speaker 5: been winning your first Grammy earlier this year.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Oh.
- 3:44Speaker 5: And is it true that your mother also retired from
- 3:48Speaker 5: her 30-year career as a nurse that same day?
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah, it was that day or that week or something
- 3:55Speaker 4: that month. It was definitely something that we'd talk about.
- 3:57Speaker 4: My mom had been working for 30 years. Honestly, so
- 4:02Speaker 4: many hours working. There's so many, you know, there's so
- 4:06Speaker 4: many memories that I feel like of her just coming
- 4:10Speaker 4: home or, you know, leaving home early, coming back late
- 4:12Speaker 4: and just watching her work. She was one of the,
- 4:14Speaker 4: she's the hardest working person I know. So it was
- 4:17Speaker 4: really cool for that to be happening at the same time.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And apparently you didn't prepare a speech because you weren't used.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Is that true? You weren't used to winning. You just,
- 4:28Speaker 2: you thought everyone else was going to win.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, elementary school is always like raffles. I'd
- 4:34Speaker 4: be like, you know, this is it. You know, I've
- 4:37Speaker 4: got my ticket in there. I'm holding my lucky ticket.
- 4:39Speaker 4: And it always goes to someone else who's like, I
- 4:41Speaker 4: win again. So I really felt like, You know, sometimes
- 4:45Speaker 4: for me, a lot of times I felt like I
- 4:47Speaker 4: was always looking for the thing that I was really
- 4:49Speaker 4: good at. And, you know, I always kind of felt like, man,
- 4:53Speaker 4: I wish I was just good enough to win something.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And that day was one of those days I was
- 4:59Speaker 1: feeling really lucky, you know.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Well, it's your moment now. You've just dropped a new album.
- 5:04Speaker 5: What's on the cards next for you off the back
- 5:06Speaker 5: of a Grammy win and a breakthrough album in 2026?
- 5:10Speaker 1: EGOT, baby, EGOT. Let's go.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 5:12Speaker 5: Is that on your bucket list?
- 5:14Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going EGOT.
- 5:15Speaker 4: That Tony's going to be hard, but we're going to
- 5:17Speaker 4: get it. Maybe Outlaw Sherry Lee.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Can become a play.
- 5:19Speaker 2: For people that don't know, that means.
- 5:20Speaker 5: That's an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yep, you want all of them.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah. We've been nominated for two of them.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Amazing. Only two more to go.
