- 1:16Speaker 1: He's gonna try to guess the verdict and then he's
- 1:18Speaker 1: gonna be the exact same thing for me. Any new
- 1:20Speaker 1: reviews over on the Apple podcast, you bet there is?
- 1:23Speaker 1: How about from Meredith Levane, Meredith Meredith A. Levan or
- 1:29Speaker 1: Meredith A. Lewin. Okay, lots of potential, that's it.
- 1:34Speaker 2: This review says guilty of good times, which I love.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I realized that I silly Billy, if there ever was one,
- 1:41Speaker 2: hadn't yet reviewed this podcast. Humor is not a foreign
- 1:44Speaker 2: concept on the Yo gabbl Gavel podcast. The sometimes ridiculous
- 1:47Speaker 2: court cases are hilarious in and of themselves, but Brandon
- 1:51Speaker 2: Dan Summery's commentary and chuckles make it even better. That's
- 1:55Speaker 2: the truth. All rise and subscribe to this podcast if
- 1:58Speaker 2: you want more laugh in your life.
- 2:00Speaker 1: That's very nice and excellent. Did you read that two
- 2:03Speaker 1: weeks ago? Because I remember silly Billy? All rise, all right, everyone,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and shout out to all the silly billies out there
- 2:11Speaker 1: that haven't left a review. Here's your chance, here's your chance.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Let me go first, Dan, I would love that. So
- 2:17Speaker 1: last week, if you remember I told you about a
- 2:20Speaker 1: judge Ross case, you did, and I'm back. And here's why,
- 2:24Speaker 1: who's so the whole episode? I did the whole episode.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Sometimes it gets away from me and you you finish
- 2:30Speaker 1: a case and then they go up next on Judge
- 2:34Speaker 1: Ross and then you hear a little bit about the case.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And I was hooked.
- 2:38Speaker 2: This This show started because we couldn't stop watching these
- 2:41Speaker 2: trap it gets away from you. Yeah, Ross should have
- 2:45Speaker 2: pushed you off that mountain in Barcelona.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yes, Brendan Faust Brandan Faust or f a U s
- 2:53Speaker 1: T Faust, it's a faust one assuing Peter Kowaski for
- 2:59Speaker 1: fourteen one thousand dollars. Fourteen thousands. I think it's the
- 3:02Speaker 1: most I've ever seen in the second case in a
- 3:05Speaker 1: RASS episode. I know, all right, shocking. Uh, here's what
- 3:09Speaker 1: Brendan says. I'm here today because my ex roommate sold
- 3:11Speaker 1: my prized possession without telling me, a signed Mickey Mantle
- 3:16Speaker 1: bat and glove value that's seventeen thousand dollars and he
- 3:21Speaker 1: and he submits an appraisal. God, I if I, if
- 3:25Speaker 1: anyone ever, if I had that, anyone did it, I
- 3:27Speaker 1: would be what okay? So let me so, let me
- 3:30Speaker 1: ask you. Obviously, this is a this is close to
- 3:32Speaker 1: You're near your heart here. Yes, what would need to
- 3:36Speaker 1: happen for you to take the side of the friends
- 3:38Speaker 1: that sold the Mickey Mantle bat and glove, because right now,
- 3:44Speaker 1: right out of the gate, it seems like you're on
- 3:46Speaker 1: your on Brendan's side here, the one who had his
- 3:48Speaker 1: stuff sold. The only thing that makes sense is retribution
- 3:53Speaker 1: for and I don't I still don't agree with it.
- 3:55Speaker 1: But retribution for like a.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Murder or like maybe maybe Faust, maybe Kowowski. Uh No,
- 4:06Speaker 2: Faust slept with Kowowski's Why for something like that would.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Be the level. I can't imagine anything else. Well, I'll
- 4:15Speaker 1: just I'll protect no murder or adultter got it, Okay,
- 4:20Speaker 1: got it? Just some money. Oh, so Brendan no loves baseball.
- 4:26Speaker 1: He was in the minors in facts and uh, he
- 4:29Speaker 1: was in the miners for about a year and then
- 4:31Speaker 1: he tore his U c L. Yeah that's the Tommy
- 4:34Speaker 1: John joint, and so he had a bit of a
- 4:38Speaker 1: road there and unfortunately he didn't ensure his body like
- 4:44Speaker 1: other baseball players do, and so he was in a
- 4:47Speaker 1: tough spot here. He wanted to try to recover and
- 4:51Speaker 1: try to live out that dream. But it was going
- 4:54Speaker 1: to be a bit of a road and was going
- 4:55Speaker 1: to cost some money. And so his roommate, Peter uh
- 4:59Speaker 1: you know, well fell for him, and so uh Peter
- 5:03Speaker 1: offered to pay his rent for six months wow, while
- 5:07Speaker 1: he you know, went through the recovery process and hopefully
- 5:10Speaker 1: got back on his feet and was able to begin
- 5:13Speaker 1: paying again and paying him back. Okay, Brendan uh at
- 5:17Speaker 1: at Once the six months come up, Brendan feels bad,
- 5:21Speaker 1: He's not quite there yet, and so John surgery takes
- 5:24Speaker 1: over a year to heal well. I guess he didn't
- 5:26Speaker 1: know that at the time, And so six months are
- 5:29Speaker 1: approaching and he feels bad that he doesn't have the
- 5:33Speaker 1: money to pay him back yet, and so he puts
- 5:36Speaker 1: up his Mickey mantle glove and bat up as collateral,
- 5:43Speaker 1: telling him that he's going to pay him back. What
- 5:45Speaker 1: does that mean? It was his idea. Here's the text.
- 5:48Speaker 1: We do get a text which is sent in from
- 5:51Speaker 1: Brendan as proof. Here's the text from Brendan. Hey, bro,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I know that you want the rent, and I am
- 6:00Speaker 1: this close to getting it to you. I can offer
- 6:03Speaker 1: you my mantle Baden glove to hold onto while I
- 6:06Speaker 1: finish physical training. Collateral is what I think they call it. Yeah,
- 6:12Speaker 1: what what's the other guy's name? Peter says, I mean sure?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Brenden texts back, great, I promise I'll pay you back
- 6:21Speaker 1: as soon as I start working. I hope you know
- 6:24Speaker 1: how serious I am about this. You know these are
- 6:27Speaker 1: important to me. That's the text. Three before he could
- 6:32Speaker 1: give him the money, Peter sells the Baden glove can't
- 6:35Speaker 1: do it. Drudge Ross asks, how long after you gave
- 6:41Speaker 1: him the bad and glove is collateral do you think
- 6:45Speaker 1: is fair before he can sell it? Brendan says, I
- 6:49Speaker 1: would say about a year. Peter says, If I waited
- 6:52Speaker 1: a year, I would have been on the street. Was
- 6:54Speaker 1: there no agreement? No, not that we see in writing.
- 6:57Speaker 1: At least he just says, I'm going to pay you back. Oh.
- 7:00Speaker 1: There was the initial six months right that he owes him, Yes,
- 7:04Speaker 1: then the collateral conversation, and then after two months of
- 7:08Speaker 1: no payment he sells it. Okay, okay, eight months of
- 7:13Speaker 1: Rentsworth what probably the three thousand that makes it go
- 7:17Speaker 1: from seventeen to fourteen, that would be my guess. Yeah,
- 7:20Speaker 1: so yeah, that makes sense. Peter sells it for sixty
- 7:24Speaker 1: six hundred dollars. What in the world, ah uh, you're
- 7:33Speaker 1: so mad. Peter claims that he tried to call to
- 7:39Speaker 1: warn Brennan that he was going to sell it because
- 7:42Speaker 1: he needs the money, but he said he couldn't get
- 7:45Speaker 1: a hold of him. Brennan said, I did, indeed, I
- 7:48Speaker 1: had to change my number, and I guess I forgot
- 7:50Speaker 1: to give it to him. Ros says, but he has
- 7:53Speaker 1: your prized possessions. How would you not give him your
- 7:56Speaker 1: number to get in contact? And he says, I guess
- 7:58Speaker 1: it just slipped my mind. That dross very rule. Dude.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I'm just telling you right now, that's not how collateral works.
- 8:04Speaker 2: You cannot just sell someone's things. And the problem here
- 8:09Speaker 2: is is that the reason this is a bit of
- 8:10Speaker 2: a sticky wicked is because he only sold it for
- 8:13Speaker 2: sixty six hundred and it was a praise at seventeen K.
- 8:15Speaker 2: How do you this guy's suing for what fourteen K
- 8:18Speaker 2: fourteen K, which is seventeen K less the rent is
- 8:22Speaker 2: that basically what he's.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Sold it for sixty six hundred. My guess is what
- 8:27Speaker 1: you said, like you probably owed him three thousand or
- 8:31Speaker 1: you know, maybe thirty six hundred and then the other
- 8:34Speaker 1: three thousand. He just took it off to seventeen, so
- 8:37Speaker 1: I don't know. So here's what I'm gonna Here's what
- 8:39Speaker 1: should happen. And Ross is probably not gonna be with me,
- 8:41Speaker 1: But here's what should happen. He cannot sue him for
- 8:44Speaker 1: money he doesn't have nor did he earn from the collateral.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But you can better believe he can sue him for
- 8:49Speaker 1: the money of the pro the actual product he sold,
- 8:52Speaker 1: which is sixty six hundred. The problem is is he
- 8:54Speaker 1: does owe him rent, So Ross is gonna give him
- 8:57Speaker 1: the sixty six hundred. Well, I don't have any information
- 9:00Speaker 1: about what that rent is. He I would worry about.
- 9:03Speaker 2: The sixty six hundred less the rent he owed, even
- 9:07Speaker 2: though what this dude did was absolute bs uh.
- 9:12Speaker 1: He says you gave him collateral and didn't give him
- 9:16Speaker 1: a term as far as when you would pay him back.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Is nine months enough time for you to figure out
- 9:21Speaker 1: how to make some money and pay him back? Hell? Yeah,
- 9:24Speaker 1: it is. Matter is dismissed justice not a foreign calm.
- 9:30Speaker 1: He didn't overstand or understand that. Yea.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I will say this dude is stupid for I mean,
- 9:36Speaker 2: we can guess at six months the rent. He's real
- 9:39Speaker 2: stupid for putting putting that up for collateral, like real dumb,
- 9:43Speaker 2: real dumb, but without terms, he just steal it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: H Yeah, his body paid his rent form for.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Six months Dan, but the thing is worth what appears
- 9:52Speaker 2: to be years of rent.
- 9:54Speaker 1: He tries to get in contact with him to tell
- 9:56Speaker 1: him that, hey, I'm about to sell this if I
- 9:57Speaker 1: don't get my money back. He doesn't get in a
- 9:59Speaker 1: return because he his number and didn't tell him. I
- 10:02Speaker 1: get it. I understand, I understand where that this is.
- 10:06Speaker 1: He probably didn't have the right to sell it yet,
- 10:09Speaker 1: but he tried to forget.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Take Mickey Mantle out of it. Make this a ten
- 10:13Speaker 2: a fifteen thousand dollars Honda a court right, make it up,
- 10:16Speaker 2: make it something that I don't want nor need. Right
- 10:19Speaker 2: without a contract in place, you can't sell the collateral.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I don't believe unless you take them to court first.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. Very tried to contact him.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I would like it more in full than that. I
- 10:35Speaker 1: guess that's all that we get. It's all that we
- 10:37Speaker 1: get no money for. He's out a Mantle glove and
- 10:42Speaker 1: bat and all the money. That's insane. That's tough, insane. Well,
- 10:46Speaker 1: what can you do. Let's hit over to Matthis, shall we? Oh? Please? Yeah?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Sean Shephard is suing his wife for seven hundred and
- 10:53Speaker 2: forty bucks.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Oh no, he's suing his wife and he's taking it
- 10:58Speaker 1: to Mathis. I'm gonna go out on a lemon, say,
- 11:03Speaker 1: Matthew is going to rule in favor of the man
- 11:06Speaker 1: in this case. Wow, Okay, he's suing Jill Shepherd, his wife.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Sean says, the only reason we're here today is that
- 11:14Speaker 1: I filed for divorce and my wife will not grant it.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Matthis says, is that true? Man why?
- 11:19Speaker 2: Jill says, yes, I believe marriage is a strong union
- 11:22Speaker 2: and we should try to work it out.
- 11:23Speaker 1: And we haven't worked on it. Mathe.
- 11:25Speaker 2: He just seemed to be the courtroom for this case.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Matthis says, you didn't ask why why he wanted a divorce,
- 11:34Speaker 2: and she says I have asked why, and he's not
- 11:36Speaker 2: given me any answers. Oh, Sean says, that's not true.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I filed for divorce two weeks before our first anniversary,
- 11:42Speaker 2: and there's a lot of reasons for this. Matthews says,
- 11:45Speaker 2: tell her now, because she clearly doesn't know. Sean says,
- 11:49Speaker 2: in two thousand and five, we met through a mutual friend.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Everything seemed to be perfect with us a lot in common,
- 11:53Speaker 2: similar backgrounds. We both had just come out of abuse
- 11:56Speaker 2: of relationships. She ended up getting pregnant with twins. Mathis goes,
- 12:02Speaker 2: with somebody else's twins. He goes, No, our twins. He goes,
- 12:04Speaker 2: why didn't you just say you know you got Like
- 12:07Speaker 2: that's weird, he said, But we had twins. We planned
- 12:10Speaker 2: our future together, and after she had the kids, she
- 12:14Speaker 2: started to become really really abusive, like yelling, screaming, throwing things. Uh,
- 12:21Speaker 2: Matthis says postpartum depression. Sean says, yes, and I asked
- 12:25Speaker 2: her to see KELP and she refused. Jill says, your honor,
- 12:29Speaker 2: may I interrupt? Matthews says, yes, you may. Jill says,
- 12:33Speaker 2: I wasn't aware that I had an issue. The only
- 12:35Speaker 2: time he wanted to address it is when I was angry,
- 12:37Speaker 2: so I was just I couldn't hear anything he was saying.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Matthis says, what do you think there was the reason
- 12:43Speaker 2: for your anger?
- 12:44Speaker 1: Then?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Jill says, I was the primary caregiver for our six children.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Sean had two kids before the marriage.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I had two kids before the marriage, and we had
- 12:55Speaker 1: twins together, and twins.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Sean wasn't working, Sean did have a driver's license. I
- 13:02Speaker 2: did everything, the bills, everything we did, the laundry, the dishes.
- 13:07Speaker 2: It became overwhelming, especially watching Sean sit around and just
- 13:11Speaker 2: be on his computer and talk to no one. He
- 13:14Speaker 2: could even take a nap if he wanted.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Can I ask you this one? Yeah? Why does she
- 13:18Speaker 1: marry him? I listen, This case is so effing weird.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I don't pull for either of these people, but there
- 13:27Speaker 1: are times in the case where both of them I'm like, man,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you married the worst human being? Can he Do you
- 13:33Speaker 1: have a timeline? Like? Did they have the twins before
- 13:36Speaker 1: they were made? I believe so they're only they're not
- 13:38Speaker 1: even married a year before he yes, so it could
- 13:40Speaker 1: be like correct, you know, we got because every time
- 13:44Speaker 1: someone says something it sounds like the worst thing in
- 13:48Speaker 1: a poker game of bad things, and then the next
- 13:50Speaker 1: person comes in and goes and gives some their side
- 13:53Speaker 1: to it, and it sounds a lot more reasonable. So
- 13:56Speaker 1: it's just one of these things where it's like, like,
- 13:59Speaker 1: what does he say about the doing nothing and being
- 14:02Speaker 1: on the computer.
- 14:02Speaker 2: The one thing I will say consistently throughout this case,
- 14:04Speaker 2: I was like, please get divorced, Like, why does this
- 14:06Speaker 2: woman want this guy around so badly? I don't understand
- 14:10Speaker 2: why does she? Why is she like? And then why like,
- 14:13Speaker 2: just get divorced? And that was where I did agree
- 14:16Speaker 2: with Sean. It's like, at least he knows he shouldn't
- 14:18Speaker 2: be in this like she's she doesn't all right? So, uh,
- 14:22Speaker 2: Mathis goes, Uh he was, he'd have a job.
- 14:25Speaker 1: She says. No.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Sean says, that's not entirely true. Mathis says, even if
- 14:31Speaker 2: it's half true. Even if it's half true, even if
- 14:34Speaker 2: there was some times when you didn't have a job,
- 14:36Speaker 2: for you to not do any laundry, and he's taking
- 14:38Speaker 2: care of your kids, any help around the house, any
- 14:40Speaker 2: nothing to support her, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Jill says, you're on her. To be fair, he was
- 14:46Speaker 1: was working occasionally, She sticks up for Oh wow.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Mathis says, well, where where he wasn't working, would he
- 14:54Speaker 2: share in some of the responsibilities. Jill says no, and
- 14:58Speaker 2: Mathis goes, and you sure you don't want to divorce him,
- 15:01Speaker 2: and then she says he's on the right track. Now,
- 15:04Speaker 2: I've been in counseling since he left. There are some
- 15:07Speaker 2: issues and that are my issues, and I'm working on them.
- 15:10Speaker 2: And Matthis goes, do you think that's why he left?
- 15:12Speaker 2: She goes, yes, that's definitely why he left. But there
- 15:14Speaker 2: are two people in this relationship, and I think both
- 15:16Speaker 2: of us working makes the most sense and working on
- 15:19Speaker 2: it together. Matthis says, sir, why don't you think this
- 15:23Speaker 2: deserves a second chance? She seems to be doing the work.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Do you think that that deserves a second chance. Sean
- 15:28Speaker 2: says it does, however, and then Matthis cuts him off
- 15:32Speaker 2: and says, why don't you go to counseling with her?
- 15:35Speaker 2: He says, I don't think it's prudent at this juncture.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I've seen no proof that she's changed, nor do I
- 15:40Speaker 2: think it will change. Mathis then pushes further, why not
- 15:44Speaker 2: go to counseling and get some insight? And finally Sean
- 15:47Speaker 2: just looks at me and he goes, you're hon her.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I don't want to, okay, Mathis says, I think she
- 15:51Speaker 1: deserves to know why you want the divorce what are
- 15:54Speaker 1: you doing right now?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Sean says, I have a duplex. My two daughters live
- 15:58Speaker 2: with me. I opened up a retail shop for computer repairs.
- 16:01Speaker 2: She knew for months before that I was doing this
- 16:05Speaker 2: and working on this, and that when I left, I
- 16:08Speaker 2: told her months ahead of time I was going to
- 16:09Speaker 2: leave her. I told her I needed to see changes
- 16:12Speaker 2: where I was gonna leave, And for three straight months
- 16:14Speaker 2: nothing happened, and so I left. Jill says, your honor,
- 16:18Speaker 2: I did try to make changes. The first counselor I
- 16:20Speaker 2: saw wasn't a good fit, so I had to change counselors.
- 16:23Speaker 2: It was a longer process than I intended it to be,
- 16:25Speaker 2: and I'm really sorry about that.
- 16:27Speaker 1: It's wild. It is so wild. At least it's not Joe.
- 16:31Speaker 1: It's not Joe Brown. Joe Brown would.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Have been like, why aren't you in the kitchen cooking
- 16:36Speaker 2: in his favorite It would have been unbelievable.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Now in my day, crock pot macaroni, and she all
- 16:45Speaker 1: four of my It's ridiculous, all right.
- 16:48Speaker 2: So Sean Math's is like, let's get to the lawsuit.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Let me maybe get some clarity there. Sean says, So
- 16:52Speaker 2: I've been working with a company, and I quit for
- 16:54Speaker 2: ethical reasons which I don't really want to get into
- 16:56Speaker 2: right now.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Matthew says, fine.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Oh, we did have no course, Nott the place to
- 17:02Speaker 2: get We had no money coming in. I did go
- 17:04Speaker 2: into depression. I didn't want to be bothered with anything,
- 17:06Speaker 2: even my own kids, and that was terrible. Sure, and
- 17:09Speaker 2: Maths goes, and you're talking about her moods. Did you
- 17:11Speaker 2: get help? He said, yeah, I did, and depression. My
- 17:14Speaker 2: depression put a lot of stress on my wife. I
- 17:16Speaker 2: understand that. But after I saw help, I decided to
- 17:19Speaker 2: get my computer business back up and running. I was
- 17:21Speaker 2: spending a lot of time working from home. I was
- 17:23Speaker 2: promoting myself. I got clients, I got a phone number,
- 17:27Speaker 2: I got a cell phone for my business. I did
- 17:29Speaker 2: everything I needed to do to make my business work,
- 17:32Speaker 2: and I was about to open up a shop. I
- 17:34Speaker 2: filed for divorce in February, and in March she goes
- 17:37Speaker 2: down to the phone company and she shuts my business
- 17:40Speaker 2: phone off without telling me. I lost access to all
- 17:43Speaker 2: of my clients, which made all my promotional materials I
- 17:46Speaker 2: just purchased pretty useless. And I had to start from scratch. Oh,
- 17:52Speaker 2: Sean says, so those are the business expenses that no.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Mathis says, So those are the business expenses and lost
- 17:57Speaker 2: wages and from the phone being cut off. That's what
- 17:58Speaker 2: we're suing for seven or four dollars, he says.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Jill says, well, I can explain. He said he was
- 18:05Speaker 2: filing for divorce. He did, and Marchie said, I won
- 18:08Speaker 2: off the phone bill. I went and took his name
- 18:10Speaker 2: off the cell bill. That's what happened. Oh, matthis says,
- 18:13Speaker 2: is that true? Sean says, I told her I wanted
- 18:16Speaker 2: off the phone bill, but that I wanted to transfer
- 18:18Speaker 2: my number to my own account. I told her this.
- 18:22Speaker 2: She still went down and shut the phone down the
- 18:25Speaker 2: day before I was supposed to swish it switch it
- 18:28Speaker 2: phone down, so she so I lost the phone number altogether.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Jill said, your honor, he does all the things for
- 18:36Speaker 2: his two kids now that he never did for our six.
- 18:39Speaker 2: He pays the rent, he cooks, he cleans, he takes
- 18:41Speaker 2: them to school. None of these things he could do
- 18:43Speaker 2: while he was with me. Matthis says, sir, what do
- 18:49Speaker 2: you have to say to that? And Sean says, I
- 18:50Speaker 2: have no response. Mathis is ready to rule.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Oh this is why what I am. There's a lot
- 19:00Speaker 1: of mucking myres this case about divorce and who is
- 19:05Speaker 1: getting help and why the divorce is happening. At the
- 19:09Speaker 1: base of it, this is a case about somebody turning
- 19:14Speaker 1: off somebody else's phone number that he used for his business. Right,
- 19:20Speaker 1: that is what the money is about. That's what the
- 19:22Speaker 1: money is about. And so it does seem to me
- 19:27Speaker 1: like there was communication. I would have loved to see
- 19:32Speaker 1: some sort of written communication like Hey, I'm going to
- 19:34Speaker 1: take care of this. That would have made this a
- 19:37Speaker 1: lot easier. But we don't have that. We have a
- 19:40Speaker 1: I told her that I was going to do it myself.
- 19:42Speaker 1: She still went down there. I believe that the person
- 19:48Speaker 1: who wants to stay with her husband is probably not
- 19:52Speaker 1: the person who would vindictively go in and turn off
- 19:56Speaker 1: the phone line, even though I.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Think everybody in this case is exactly who they say
- 19:59Speaker 2: they are. I think she won would, But I also
- 20:02Speaker 2: think he did nothing for his family for however long.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I think they're both terrible in their own way, and
- 20:07Speaker 2: they're all working through some stuff and they are getting help.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So just for for clarification there, so this is what
- 20:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna say. She owes him the money. Okay, he
- 20:15Speaker 1: also has twins with her? Yeah right, Yes, I think
- 20:20Speaker 1: it's just gonna be a wash. I think it's gonna
- 20:22Speaker 1: be a wash. I think it's gonna be a hey,
- 20:24Speaker 1: everybody do better. She owes you money for the business stuff.
- 20:29Speaker 1: You also have twins that you need to support with
- 20:34Speaker 1: her burt by birth, by birth, by birth. You have
- 20:38Speaker 1: these children, correct, you need to be supporting them. And
- 20:41Speaker 1: so I'm gonna I'm just gonna so it's a wash.
- 20:44Speaker 2: So this is a little bit of a rug pulled
- 20:46Speaker 2: out situation. Ah, mathis I the marriage stuff matters?
- 20:50Speaker 1: Okay?
- 20:51Speaker 2: Because matthis says something that I didn't know but makes sense,
- 20:54Speaker 2: which is he says it's difficult to give a ruling
- 20:57Speaker 2: in this case because in maryle marital property, we're talking
- 21:01Speaker 2: about joint assets, and a husband and wife cannot sue
- 21:04Speaker 2: each other over property unless there are a few exceptions,
- 21:09Speaker 2: like if you personally inherited property outside of the marriage,
- 21:13Speaker 2: then you can sue if she or he tries to
- 21:15Speaker 2: take that or they try to take that from you.
- 21:18Speaker 2: But aside from a few extreme issues, a husband and
- 21:20Speaker 2: wife can't sue each other over property if they're still married.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And not divorced. You guys have to go to divorce
- 21:26Speaker 1: court to figure this out. The case is dismissed, he
- 21:28Speaker 1: gets no money. That's tough. It was wild because I
- 21:30Speaker 1: didn't like either one of them.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I fundamentally didn't like either one of them, aside from
- 21:34Speaker 2: the fact that they both.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Because if you're like, if you really want to get
- 21:41Speaker 1: back at somebody, if yours, that's exactly yes, and then
- 21:46Speaker 1: there's still feel.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Their car and don't sign the divorce papers and you're
- 21:49Speaker 2: in the clear. Basically, That's what I learned today. Yeah,
- 21:53Speaker 2: you did it, man, how about that? Of course, well
- 21:55Speaker 2: we did it. We certainly did.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Can I propose to come back next week? That plan fun,
- 22:00Speaker 1: so coming back for that until then, All rise.
