- 1:57Speaker 1: We move into Tuesday. Let's see. Demands for NIL partners
- 2:03Speaker 1: to drop Arch Manning's service. Man, they are blowing this
- 2:06Speaker 1: Holly Rowe thing way out. I mean, way out of proportion.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So obviously the way the intranets work today. And how
- 2:16Speaker 1: are you, sir? Well, I know you're not doing too good. Well,
- 2:19Speaker 1: you're doing, you look good though.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you're looking good. I mean, like you're getting ready to,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I really think quietly you're getting ready to, Do some
- 2:28Speaker 1: big race. You're getting ready because you look fit. You
- 2:31Speaker 1: look good. You look 10 years younger. Are you fixing
- 2:34Speaker 1: to challenge Gator Matt?
- 2:36Speaker 3: You know what?
- 2:37Speaker 5: It's about time. You've mentioned that before. Challenge Gator Matt.
- 2:42Speaker 5: It was about three weeks ago. So I think it's time.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I think it is too.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Matt?
- 2:49Speaker 3: Matthew?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Uh-oh.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Well, Gator Matt, if you're listening, you have a challenger.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And the challenger is not me, by the way. I'm
- 2:55Speaker 1: not challenging you. Beaver is, though. He's been putting the
- 2:56Speaker 1: work in. Did you get your steps in today? I did.
- 3:00Speaker 3: I cut it.
- 3:00Speaker 5: You know, I like to do at least 40. I
- 3:04Speaker 5: made it to 33 today, and I says, this was
- 3:07Speaker 5: the afternoon sesh. I said, all right, I'm done with this.
- 3:12Speaker 5: It's gross out there. I mean, it's been gross all summer,
- 3:14Speaker 5: but for some reason, the last few days have felt
- 3:17Speaker 5: more disgusting than I don't know what's going on.
- 3:22Speaker 1: No, I agree with you. It's nasty. I was looking
- 3:24Speaker 1: at the long range forecast. We're not going to get
- 3:26Speaker 1: into the low 90s till end of next week, like 91, 92.
- 3:30Speaker 1: At some point, I keep looking. I want to look
- 3:32Speaker 1: long range and see 80s, just 80s. But I haven't
- 3:35Speaker 1: found it yet.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I saw it. I did.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I looked at the 10 day. And towards the end
- 3:43Speaker 5: of next week, I saw an 88 in there. So
- 3:47Speaker 5: I think we're getting there slowly, very painfully slowly.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Very slowly. After the Holly Rowe incident, and I
- 3:55Speaker 1: call it an incident. Hell, I'm falling into this trap.
- 3:59Speaker 1: The Steve Sarkeesian snub of Holly Rowe. End of the game,
- 4:02Speaker 1: he's fired up. They just had a win. Biggest win
- 4:06Speaker 1: of his Texas career. Maybe the biggest win in Steve
- 4:08Speaker 1: Sarkeesian's head coaching career. For Arch Manning, biggest win in
- 4:12Speaker 1: his college career. It really kind of catapults him into
- 4:16Speaker 1: the Mr. Inevitable conversation, don't you think? I mean, now
- 4:20Speaker 1: he's got that win, they're number one in the country,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and now they're sailing. We'll see what happens. Holly Roe
- 4:27Speaker 1: comes up, Steve Sarkeesian gives her the cold shoulder, takes off. Well,
- 4:33Speaker 1: then memes start to happen. You know how the whole
- 4:35Speaker 1: internet works now? Memes happen, now with AI, AI video happens,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and all of this stuff. And there was some video
- 4:44Speaker 1: that was put out there of Holly Roe and Steve Sarkeesian.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Arch Manning was asked about it in a press conference.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And he laughed. He said, I thought it was funny.
- 4:52Speaker 1: No big deal. Well, obviously somebody or a group of
- 4:56Speaker 1: somebodies in Texas, because Holly Roe, and you know, there's
- 5:01Speaker 1: two sides of this. Holly Roe, she was diagnosed with
- 5:03Speaker 1: cancer several years ago, right? And it's a great story.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I mean, you talk about a bounce back story. Obviously,
- 5:09Speaker 1: God's not done with her yet. And I mean that seriously.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So I can feel sorry, sympathize for her on that side.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But she's still a part of And has not gotten
- 5:20Speaker 1: a part of the woke mob, crazy media people. I mean,
- 5:26Speaker 1: Nicole Arbach has been out here. Have you seen what
- 5:28Speaker 1: she's doing?
- 5:29Speaker 3: No, I stay away from what she says.
- 5:32Speaker 1: She is just tongue lashing people over this. And some
- 5:34Speaker 1: guy called her babe on X and she lost her mind. Like,
- 5:41Speaker 1: do not call me babe. Don't you ever call me
- 5:44Speaker 1: that again. And like, she should have never done that.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Because then if you go to the comments, it's like 2,000
- 5:48Speaker 1: comments of, Hey, babe, babe, babe, babe. But, you know,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it's just so the Internet's just, you know, it's it's
- 5:55Speaker 1: a toilet. It just circles.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Well, somebody has gotten to Arch Manning and somebody has
- 6:01Speaker 1: made him put out a statement. He says in my
- 6:04Speaker 1: press conference yesterday, I made an insensitive comment about an A.I. video.
- 6:09Speaker 1: There is nothing funny about it. Arch, you're lying. You
- 6:12Speaker 1: were laughing about it. It's easy to say I didn't
- 6:15Speaker 1: mean it, but I know my words and actions were
- 6:18Speaker 1: hurtful to a lot of people. I do not take
- 6:21Speaker 1: that lightly and I am deeply sorry for that. I
- 6:23Speaker 1: specifically want to apologize to Holly Rowe for what she
- 6:27Speaker 1: has personally had to deal with because of my comments.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I have a ton of respect for her and appreciate
- 6:33Speaker 1: her showing me grace in this moment. I need to
- 6:36Speaker 1: be better and will be more thoughtful going forward. Arch Manning.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And now he is getting berated by the populace because
- 6:46Speaker 1: you never really apologize. If you've really done nothing wrong,
- 6:49Speaker 1: because all it does is bring the mob out. So
- 6:52Speaker 1: here is Arch Manning made to apologize because Holly Rose
- 6:56Speaker 1: feelings are hurt about an AI video because she got
- 7:00Speaker 1: snubbed and her feelings got hurt and her ego got hurt.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Any thoughts on this?
- 7:05Speaker 3: I see. And that's OK.
- 7:07Speaker 5: I haven't seen any comments from her. So she's offended
- 7:11Speaker 5: by this.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Undoubtedly, she is. Now she comes back and says something.
- 7:16Speaker 1: and I don't have it in front of me. One
- 7:18Speaker 1: of the big national guys said, Holly's nothing but class.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And she said something to the effect of we'll keep
- 7:24Speaker 1: our conversation private arch. I accept your apology. Water under
- 7:27Speaker 1: the bridge, you know, in the comment said, Holly always
- 7:31Speaker 1: takes the high road. Holly always travels the high road.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Does she, does she really travel the high road? Because
- 7:37Speaker 1: the face she made on camera on live TV the
- 7:40Speaker 1: other night was not the high road. That was anything
- 7:42Speaker 1: but the high road. Why do we, Why are we
- 7:45Speaker 1: such a sensitive populace in 2026? Why is she so
- 7:51Speaker 1: damn mad? Because she couldn't get an interview. And Sarkisian
- 7:56Speaker 1: just snubbed her. Which, who knows? He might have got
- 7:59Speaker 1: fined for that. Seriously. Because I don't know what kind of...
- 8:02Speaker 1: I'm going to look at this. I've always said there's
- 8:05Speaker 1: got to be a contractual obligation for these coaches because
- 8:07Speaker 1: of the TV networks and the money that comes into
- 8:09Speaker 1: these schools. They have to... To take these interviews. And
- 8:12Speaker 1: we've already said this. These interviews are stupid. They're dumb.
- 8:16Speaker 1: They don't tell you anything. Nobody's waiting on Holly Rose
- 8:20Speaker 1: question at the end of that ballgame.
- 8:21Speaker 5: See, everyone, including you, Jake. And this is going to
- 8:25Speaker 5: tie into classic Wimberly here. Everybody's getting who's the bad
- 8:30Speaker 5: guy in this. You know, obviously it's Arch now because
- 8:34Speaker 5: he's got to put out this thing. But then some people, oh,
- 8:38Speaker 5: Holly Rose being too sensitive. The bad guy is AI.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I'm not offended.
- 8:43Speaker 5: I am not offended by the video. I'm not offended
- 8:47Speaker 5: by Arch's apology. I'm not offended by Arch bringing it
- 8:50Speaker 5: up at the press conference. I think it's a non-story.
- 8:55Speaker 5: It's stupid to begin with. The fact that this was
- 8:58Speaker 5: created because we live in a world.
- 9:00Speaker 3: With pointless people.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Pointless AI, which is going to murder us within the
- 9:06Speaker 5: next nine years, and someone sat there and created this video,
- 9:11Speaker 5: it's all just pointless.
- 9:13Speaker 3: AI is the bad guy.
- 9:14Speaker 5: That's why I say it's playing in the classic Wimberly, because, see,
- 9:17Speaker 5: you're sticking up for your friend AI now.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I like the way you did this. Maybe I am,
- 9:22Speaker 1: and I just don't realize it.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Maybe I am. We're brought to you by our friends

- 11:34Speaker 1: in the next segment. We'll talk Ole Miss LSU. Hugh
- 11:38Speaker 1: Kellenberger was still riding for the clearing ledger. What did
- 11:42Speaker 1: he call this? What did he call Ole Miss LSU? Toxic.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Would he call this weekend toxic? Oh, yeah.
- 11:47Speaker 3: He'd love it. He wouldn't love it. He'd break out
- 11:50Speaker 3: as toxic again.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Is this toxic this weekend? Jason in Flagstaff on
- 11:55Speaker 1: the Couple Millennials text line, he said, oh, it's hot there.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Talking about how hot we've talked about. Bless your heart.
- 11:59Speaker 1: He gave you a bless your hearts.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Oh, sweet Jason.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Sweet Jason out in Flagstaff, Arizona, who I just happened
- 12:06Speaker 5: to look at your current weather where you are, and
- 12:08Speaker 5: it's 77 degrees in September. So how about you don't
- 12:15Speaker 5: talk to us? The man who yesterday, he called me
- 12:19Speaker 5: once during Matt's show and once during your show. And
- 12:22Speaker 5: both times, because he always says, hey, man, it's Jason.
- 12:26Speaker 5: And I always, my standard response is, what are you doing, man?
- 12:29Speaker 5: Who both times yesterday was like, oh, I'm just driving around.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Driving around in your air-conditioned vehicle. Outside that air-conditioned vehicle,
- 12:38Speaker 5: it is 77. I see tomorrow your high is 66%.
- 12:42Speaker 5: I'm sorry, we are sitting down here currently at 97
- 12:46Speaker 5: with a heat index of 104.
- 12:51Speaker 3: You forgot what it's like, sir.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:53Speaker 3: You used to be here, allegedly, although I still think
- 12:56Speaker 3: that's all fake.
- 12:57Speaker 5: I don't think he's ever stepped foot in Mississippi.
- 13:00Speaker 1: You think, oh, you think Jason is catfishing the show?
- 13:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 3: I think he's lived in Flagstaff his entire life.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So maybe, maybe he, because he, is it? I don't
- 13:10Speaker 1: know if he's active military, but we do appreciate his service.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Maybe he was stationed here for like two weeks, and
- 13:15Speaker 1: then he liked the place, and then he left, and
- 13:17Speaker 1: he's like, oh, yeah, watch this. I'm going to get
- 13:19Speaker 1: these guys. I used to live there. In quotes, Jason laughing.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Let's see. Maroon Richie. They don't even deal with humidity
- 13:27Speaker 1: out there. That's right. There's no humidity, Richie. There's none
- 13:31Speaker 1: out there. Ready, Teddy. Speaking of toxic, this book was
- 13:34Speaker 1: released today. This is going to be a fun week. And, yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 1: I did see this. John Talti, Lane being Lane, the
- 13:41Speaker 1: story of Lane Kiffin's college football. Excuse me, that's blurred
- 13:46Speaker 1: at the top because of the, anyway, college football's agent
- 13:50Speaker 1: of chaos. Well, it's going to be a fun week
- 13:54Speaker 1: until it's not, Teddy. It's going to be a fun
- 13:58Speaker 1: week until it's not. Now, I think Ole Miss is
- 14:02Speaker 1: going to win this football game. I'm going to tell
- 14:03Speaker 1: that on a Tuesday. I like Ole Miss to win
- 14:06Speaker 1: the football game. For one reason. Two, home field advantage, Trinidad-Chambers.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Did I say it right that time? Chambers. Better quarterback.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I think he's a more consistent quarterback. He's playing at home.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Sam Levitt can give it to you a couple times.
- 14:27Speaker 1: If LSU wins the game, it's not fun anymore. It's
- 14:32Speaker 1: not fun at all. And we'll see. It's going to
- 14:35Speaker 1: be a fun day. It's going to be a fun week.
- 14:37Speaker 1: It's going to be a lot of people out there.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Let's see here. Jason says, no, I haven't forgot. He says,
- 14:42Speaker 1: why the hell do you think I live at 7,000
- 14:45Speaker 1: feet in the first place? So there you go. SEC
- 14:48Speaker 1: passing leaders entering week three. Camario Taylor leading the SEC
- 14:54Speaker 1: at 581 yards. Sam Levitt, who was coming to Oxford
- 14:56Speaker 1: this weekend, is 574. Trinidad Chambliss, 561. Austin Simmons, who
- 15:01Speaker 1: will be in Starkville next week. Memphis Tigers, Missouri Tigers, 544.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Is there any difference in Memphis and Missouri, though, except
- 15:11Speaker 1: the colors?
- 15:13Speaker 5: Nah.
- 15:14Speaker 1: They're kind of the same, right? Aaron Filo, Florida, 517.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Arch Manning, right at 500. Byron Brown, 485 at Auburn.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Kenny Menchie, Kentucky, 445. Keelan Russell, 444. And then Gunnar Stockton.
- 15:27Speaker 1: That's your top 10, 436. Back to this Arch Manning thing,
- 15:32Speaker 1: and I'm going to leave it here. I don't think
- 15:33Speaker 1: you should have ever apologized. You know one thing we
- 15:36Speaker 1: never hear people say anymore that you and I and
- 15:39Speaker 1: a lot of our listeners were beat over the head
- 15:41Speaker 1: with as children? Do you know what that is? Sticks
- 15:46Speaker 1: and stones may break my bones, but words will never
- 15:48Speaker 1: hurt me. We were drilled into your thick. Do you
- 15:53Speaker 1: remember that?
- 15:53Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Did your parents say that?
- 15:55Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Mine did, too. My grandparents said it. It was like, hey,
- 15:57Speaker 1: you got to toughen up. I mean, words matter, but
- 16:00Speaker 1: you can't let words destroy you. And we don't, I
- 16:04Speaker 1: never hear teachers, counselors, pastors, nobody ever says it anymore.
- 16:12Speaker 1: It's like we left it in 1999. When we had Y2K,
- 16:16Speaker 1: we left it back there. Have you heard anybody say it? Nope,
- 16:21Speaker 1: not in a long time, now that you mention it.
- 16:22Speaker 1: It's freak out mode. I'm working with my 12-year-old right now.
- 16:27Speaker 1: She'll freak out over everything. I'm like, you got to
- 16:29Speaker 1: calm down. And I've been telling her this. Well, Dad,
- 16:32Speaker 1: what does this mean? So I break it down. Like, hey,
- 16:35Speaker 1: we can't let every word affect us. Like, it's noise.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Absolute noise. But we don't. We do just this right here.
- 16:45Speaker 1: We get into national public apologies. Look, and I don't
- 16:51Speaker 1: condone all speech. I'm just saying, in this instance, Arch
- 16:56Speaker 1: Manning laughing at an AI-made video. What are we doing?
- 17:02Speaker 1: Why is he going to possibly lose NIO money? I
- 17:04Speaker 1: don't believe this, that he's going to lose NIO money
- 17:06Speaker 1: over this. Now, if he would have called her something shameful,
- 17:11Speaker 1: if he would have berated her publicly, that's one thing.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Laughing at a video? What are we doing? Am I
- 17:20Speaker 1: wrong here? If I'm wrong, tell me I'm wrong.
- 17:22Speaker 3: No, you're not wrong. No one.
- 17:26Speaker 5: Like I said, I don't think there's any wrong. I'm
- 17:28Speaker 5: not offended on Arch's behalf. I'm not offended on Holly
- 17:31Speaker 5: Rose behalf. AI is wrong, Jake. Please remember that. Get
- 17:37Speaker 5: it into your skull. And when you're when you and
- 17:41Speaker 5: me are cowering down in this bunker because the robots
- 17:45Speaker 5: are coming, they're out on there. They're on Pear Orchard
- 17:49Speaker 5: Road right outside here. Terminator style, you know, They're about
- 17:54Speaker 5: to come in this building.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Walking through the Mexican restaurant.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yep.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Then you're going to.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Say, oh, maybe this was wrong. Maybe this AI was wrong.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Right. Maybe I do need to rethink this. Gator Matt,
- 18:07Speaker 1: look out. Here we come. Where are you going? Where
- 18:13Speaker 1: are you going?
- 18:15Speaker 5: You know, I always enjoy, and I've told you this
- 18:18Speaker 5: so many times, looking back at text histories. And Gator
- 18:23Speaker 5: Matt's previous text before that, it was sent to the morning,
- 18:29Speaker 5: and it says, Florida has the best wide receiver room,
- 18:32Speaker 5: best running back room, best tight end room, soon to
- 18:35Speaker 5: be offensive line room in the conference, and look out
- 18:38Speaker 5: for the quarterback.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Matthew, they're the best at everything now, Jake.
- 18:46Speaker 1: If the Patriots and the Ohio State Buckeyes had a baby,
- 18:50Speaker 1: it'd be Florida, is what I got out of all that.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Right?
- 18:53Speaker 1: That's where we're at with Florida. We're brought to you
- 18:54Speaker 1: by the Gurkha Cigar Lounge at Ameristar Casino. Get out
- 18:57Speaker 1: and get you a stick. Have it on the property.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Bring it to the house. Enjoy everything that the Gurkha
- 19:01Speaker 1: has to offer right off the floor of the sportsbook
- 19:04Speaker 1: at Ameristar. That's the Gurkha Cigar Lounge at Ameristar. We'll
- 19:07Speaker 1: visit with Michael Katz. We'll talk about the toxicity that
- 19:11Speaker 1: is about to hit Oxford, Mississippi back in a bit.
- 19:13Speaker 1: It's time to get back in the game with Jake
- 19:16Speaker 1: Wimberly and the Afternoon Drive. That's entertaining. On the station
- 19:19Speaker 1: that specializes in the Mississippi sports you love.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Now we talking.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Live and local on ESPN 105.9 The Zone and online
- 19:25Speaker 1: at TheZone1059.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Com.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Tuesday edition of your radio show brought to you by
- 19:57Speaker 1: Jenny King. Go to JennyKingCleans.com for more information. Let them
- 20:01Speaker 1: help you keep your building or place of worship, your office,
- 20:04Speaker 1: big or small, doctor's offices, medical office buildings, you name it,
- 20:07Speaker 1: they can help you keep it clean. Go to JennyKingCleans.com.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Let them help you today. Michael Katz, he's going to
- 20:13Speaker 1: help keep it clean. Well, this will be maybe some
- 20:15Speaker 1: of the cleanest content you'll get prior to unless you're
- 20:18Speaker 1: at Oxford on Saturday and then could get no holes
- 20:20Speaker 1: barred in Oxford. Katz, welcome in, brother. How you doing?
- 20:24Speaker 4: I'm so exhausted, man. I can't wait for Sunday.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I can imagine. Right. I mean, and you know, people,
- 20:30Speaker 1: and they don't think about it because they're not, they don't,
- 20:32Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of out of sight, out of mind,
- 20:34Speaker 1: but the work that you guys put in, um, you know,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and I'm not just saying that, I mean, just getting ready,
- 20:39Speaker 1: making sure content's out there, but then the chaos of
- 20:42Speaker 1: not just putting the content out, going to campus because
- 20:45Speaker 1: there's a media circus now. I mean, you know, normal week,
- 20:48Speaker 1: like last week, it's pretty, you know, buttoned up, but
- 20:50Speaker 1: then you get the, uh, onslaught of just all the
- 20:54Speaker 1: other people. Man, I can't even imagine.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, for any top 10 matchup, regardless of
- 21:02Speaker 4: who it was, it would obviously be a big deal.
- 21:06Speaker 4: There would be a lot of people focusing on this game,
- 21:08Speaker 4: but I just think the circumstances of this one are
- 21:10Speaker 4: just so unique with it. I mean, literally being the
- 21:13Speaker 4: SEC opener against the guy who left your team before
- 21:17Speaker 4: the playoff to go join a rival and then took
- 21:21Speaker 4: his coaches and some of the players with him. I
- 21:25Speaker 4: don't know if it's unprecedented. I can't say I've done
- 21:29Speaker 4: enough research in that department, but it's got to be
- 21:33Speaker 4: up there just in terms of the sheer uniqueness. And
- 21:36Speaker 4: so there's just so many different angles to... try to
- 21:41Speaker 4: get this one from, you know, obviously there's, there's what's
- 21:43Speaker 4: on the field and what should be a really fun matchup,
- 21:46Speaker 4: but you know, then there's all the other stuff too.
- 21:49Speaker 1: No, there is. I mean, I, and I know you're,
- 21:51Speaker 1: you're aware of this and you know, the only thing
- 21:52Speaker 1: that comes to mind to me was Tommy Tuberville and
- 21:54Speaker 1: I've called this, you know, Tuberville on steroids, you know,
- 21:56Speaker 1: we left Ole Miss and I won't leave in a pond,
- 21:58Speaker 1: but in a pond box and then he goes to Auburn,
- 22:00Speaker 1: but that's probably a pre-social media, you know, Auburn was
- 22:04Speaker 1: not nearly, you know, after that it was just, they
- 22:06Speaker 1: played once and it was, this has been such a
- 22:08Speaker 1: big deal with Lane Kiffin. Um, Let's let's go to
- 22:12Speaker 1: the field because, you know, I'm actually tired of I
- 22:16Speaker 1: don't know that you can say anymore.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I mean, if it's coming back. Well, let me ask
- 22:20Speaker 1: you this. I guess the National Guard is on the
- 22:22Speaker 1: table or off the table this weekend. And I know
- 22:23Speaker 1: that they've joked about that.
- 22:25Speaker 4: That is not that is not on the table from
- 22:28Speaker 4: what I have been told. So I think that was
- 22:31Speaker 4: that was some ambitious thinking. But does not it does
- 22:35Speaker 4: not appear that that is going to be the case.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I do love that the governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry,
- 22:40Speaker 1: has said that he would wish Ole Miss would show
- 22:42Speaker 1: them some Southern hospitality. I did laugh out loud when
- 22:45Speaker 1: he said that.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, let's be honest. This isn't one of
- 22:51Speaker 4: those sorts of situations. And also, let us not forget,
- 22:56Speaker 4: during baseball season, there was video of an LSU fan
- 23:00Speaker 4: here kind of wailing on an Ole Miss fan, and
- 23:03Speaker 4: there was obviously a lot that led into that. Um,
- 23:05Speaker 4: but you know, there's, there's, there's some hospitality on all
- 23:08Speaker 4: sides when it comes to, uh, the big college football games. So, uh, I, I,
- 23:13Speaker 4: you know, I, I don't think that, that, um, that
- 23:16Speaker 4: his plea is necessarily going to, uh, fall on, on
- 23:20Speaker 4: listening ears.
- 23:23Speaker 1: So who in your mind has the, has the most pressure,
- 23:26Speaker 1: you know, Kevin kind of talked about this and said, Hey, look,
- 23:28Speaker 1: you know, it, I like that laughed again at the
- 23:30Speaker 1: way he framed. He said, we won seven games last year.
- 23:32Speaker 1: referencing LSU, they won 13. Of course, he was a
- 23:35Speaker 1: big part of that. Is the pressure squarely on Ole
- 23:38Speaker 1: Miss and Ole Miss alone this weekend?
- 23:41Speaker 4: I see it from both sides. Obviously, for Lane, you
- 23:47Speaker 4: know he wants nothing more than to show that he
- 23:50Speaker 4: made the right move and that this is why I left. Listen,
- 23:55Speaker 4: you guys had this 13-game home winning streak and have
- 23:58Speaker 4: only lost here a few times in the last six years. Uh,
- 24:01Speaker 4: and here, this is why I left the, I guess
- 24:03Speaker 4: I could be one of the teams that beat it
- 24:04Speaker 4: and beat you guys and could, you know, go win
- 24:06Speaker 4: a national title. Uh, so yeah, I, I do think
- 24:10Speaker 4: that there is a lot on him, but at the
- 24:12Speaker 4: same time, you know, I think, I don't know if
- 24:15Speaker 4: anyone's going to say it, but you know, if I,
- 24:20Speaker 4: you know, as, as, as somebody who, you know, is also,
- 24:23Speaker 4: you know, thinking if they, if they did the right
- 24:25Speaker 4: or the wrong thing on things, like, If you are
- 24:27Speaker 4: Ole Miss, you really want to prove that you got
- 24:31Speaker 4: the better end of the deal, that you made the
- 24:34Speaker 4: right choice in letting him go and not giving in
- 24:37Speaker 4: to all the demands and whatever it may have been,
- 24:40Speaker 4: not letting him coach in the playoff and elevating feet.
- 24:44Speaker 4: That was all the right stuff to do. And not
- 24:47Speaker 4: only that, not only was it the right move, but
- 24:51Speaker 4: now you don't have to deal with all of the
- 24:53Speaker 4: drama that comes with having him as your head coach.
- 24:56Speaker 4: I have to imagine that, you know, not just from,
- 25:00Speaker 4: you know, the administration, but the locker room. And I
- 25:03Speaker 4: think there's a lot of people that probably want to
- 25:05Speaker 4: show lane that like they're doing just fine without them.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Michael Katz, you can get him on exit, Michael L Katz.
- 25:11Speaker 1: And of course I, as part of D journal now
- 25:13Speaker 1: on X, that's the daily journal, North Mississippi, Tuesday edition
- 25:16Speaker 1: of your program.
- 25:17Speaker 4: All right.
- 25:17Speaker 1: So I would, this is just my opinion. You know,
- 25:19Speaker 1: if you're making me pick this game, I've already picked
- 25:21Speaker 1: Ole Miss. I, I, it comes down to two things
- 25:23Speaker 1: for me.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:24Speaker 1: It, The trenches matter and all that matters. Home field advantage,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I think, is big here if Ole Miss can get
- 25:29Speaker 1: up and stay up. And then I'm taking Trinidad over
- 25:32Speaker 1: Sam Levitt because Sam Levitt, to me, he's a good quarterback.
- 25:35Speaker 1: He threw three picks against Louisiana Tech, but that's a
- 25:38Speaker 1: microcosm of kind of who he is. He could come
- 25:41Speaker 1: in and he could have two quarters that are really
- 25:43Speaker 1: good on Saturday. He could have two quarters that are
- 25:45Speaker 1: really bad. I think Ole Miss will turn him over
- 25:48Speaker 1: a couple times. Trinidad has shown that no moment is
- 25:51Speaker 1: too big for him. Let's go there first. I mean,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I'm definitely edge Trinidad Chambliss at the quarterback spot.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I don't, at least as of right now,
- 25:59Speaker 4: I don't think there's any question. You trust Trinidad to
- 26:03Speaker 4: win the sort of tight situations that we imagine this
- 26:06Speaker 4: is going to come down to. Yes, Sam Levin is
- 26:10Speaker 4: a little bit of a wild card. You know, he's
- 26:12Speaker 4: dynamic and he's already got five rushing touchdowns, I think,
- 26:15Speaker 4: this year. But yeah, he threw three picks last week.
- 26:17Speaker 4: I think he's already got four this year. Some of
- 26:20Speaker 4: them are head scratchers and he kind of, you know,
- 26:23Speaker 4: there's a lot of give and take with the way
- 26:25Speaker 4: that he plays and when.
- 26:27Speaker 2: It's good, it's good.
- 26:27Speaker 4: And when it's bad, it's bad.
- 26:28Speaker 3: It was the.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Same way last, you know, when he was at Arizona
- 26:31Speaker 4: state from.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Time to time.
- 26:32Speaker 4: So, but I think that for me, what this is
- 26:36Speaker 4: going to come down to is, you know, yeah, obviously there's,
- 26:39Speaker 4: you know, we'll Sam Leavitt make the big mistake. I
- 26:43Speaker 4: think Ole Miss has to force him into the big mistake.
- 26:45Speaker 4: And at the same time, they have to be sound
- 26:48Speaker 4: in coverage because that's, I mean, that's really been an
- 26:50Speaker 4: issue these first two games. I know they've been missing
- 26:54Speaker 4: some guys, you know, Antonio Kite not being out there
- 26:57Speaker 4: for basically a game and a half, not having Sharif Denson,
- 27:00Speaker 4: you know, who you're expecting to start at safety. He
- 27:05Speaker 4: hasn't played at all. So, you know, those are two
- 27:07Speaker 4: pretty big pieces to have not had. But, you know,
- 27:11Speaker 4: when you look at the Charlotte game, there's not really
- 27:13Speaker 4: an excuse for, you know, broken plays and big gains.
- 27:17Speaker 4: in that sort of situation. And, you know, there was
- 27:19Speaker 4: the case in the second half against Louisville as well.
- 27:22Speaker 4: There was some sloppy tackling. It did get better this
- 27:26Speaker 4: past week. But I think, of course, pro football focus,
- 27:28Speaker 4: they've already had 35 missed tackles this year, which is
- 27:31Speaker 4: a little bit alarming. And a lot of those have
- 27:33Speaker 4: come in the secondary. So I think the secondary cleaning
- 27:37Speaker 4: things up and locking down coverage is going to be big.
- 27:40Speaker 4: You know, LSU's offensive line has not been great. They
- 27:43Speaker 4: think they gave up five sacks last week. to Louisiana Tech,
- 27:46Speaker 4: and that's a credit to Louisiana Tech for playing really tough.
- 27:48Speaker 4: But if Ole Miss can get pressure, I think that
- 27:54Speaker 4: if the coverage does what it's supposed to do, I
- 27:57Speaker 4: think you've got a higher probability of those turnover-worthy plays
- 28:01Speaker 4: and taking advantage of them.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Ole Miss wins this game if what happens?
- 28:08Speaker 4: I would say they limit the explosive passing plays on defense.
- 28:14Speaker 4: and they protect Trinidad Shambles. Trinidad, I think Ole Miss
- 28:19Speaker 4: has only given up one sack this year, and obviously
- 28:21Speaker 4: Charlotte wasn't really going to test that a ton. But,
- 28:25Speaker 4: you know, Louisville had a really good defensive front. That
- 28:27Speaker 4: was an SEC-quality defensive front. I mean, this LSU front, though,
- 28:32Speaker 4: is pretty spectacular. Our old friend, Principal Amon Miellon, already
- 28:37Speaker 4: has five sacks. they've got a bunch of tackles for loss.
- 28:42Speaker 4: That front is really good, and almost his line has
- 28:44Speaker 4: been really good. Trinidad is so good when he's able
- 28:48Speaker 4: to take his time and see his reads and work
- 28:51Speaker 4: across the field and go where the ball needs to go.
- 28:53Speaker 4: But that only is going to happen if he's got time.
- 28:57Speaker 4: So I think that's going to be really big, too,
- 28:59Speaker 4: protecting him. And I think getting a run game going, too.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I think this feels like, you know, is Kiwan going
- 29:04Speaker 4: to average 10 yards a carry in this game? I
- 29:06Speaker 4: don't know. I guess he could, but I think he
- 29:08Speaker 4: has to be a consistent threat running the ball, because
- 29:10Speaker 4: if that happens, then those passing lanes open up to Trinidad, too.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Make sure to get him on X. Check him out
- 29:16Speaker 1: at the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal. He's Michael Katz. Katz,
- 29:18Speaker 1: take a breather. I know you'll be glad when Saturday
- 29:21Speaker 1: night is over, but hey, it should be a great
- 29:22Speaker 1: one this weekend.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Sunday is going to be the best day of my life, brother.
- 29:25Speaker 1: All right, man. Take care. See you then.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Later.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Bye.
- 29:29Speaker 1: We'll talk to him next week. That's Michael Katz. If
- 29:31Speaker 1: you see him up there, give him a glass of
- 29:33Speaker 1: water or something. It is a big day. Of course,

- 29:47Speaker 1: Back in a moment. Ladies and gentlemen, the time has
- 29:51Speaker 1: come to go back. Back to the Afternoon Drive with
- 29:56Speaker 1: Jake Wimmer.
- 29:56Speaker 3: With the hottest sports stories of the day. For one
- 29:59Speaker 3: of those moments, it only happens right here. On ESPN 105.9
- 30:01Speaker 3: The Zone and online at TheZone1059.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Com. Brought to you by Princeton A1 Gear and Auto,
- 30:22Speaker 1: your hometown vehicle specialist. Anything under the hood, 601-939-1060. Let
- 30:28Speaker 1: A1 get your vehicle in Class A shape. That's A1
- 30:32Speaker 1: Gear and Auto. We'll have Ben Troop in at 4.30.
- 30:34Speaker 1: We'll talk a little Florida football. All right, so there's more.
- 30:37Speaker 1: You know, just when I think Dan Woken, and yes,
- 30:41Speaker 1: I say it like that, Dan Woken is becoming normal again,
- 30:47Speaker 1: he shows back up. So he chimes in on this
- 30:50Speaker 1: Arch Manning thing. I'm telling you, we obviously have nothing
- 30:54Speaker 1: to complain about today because this is the thing. Arch
- 30:57Speaker 1: Manning's apology to Holly Rowe. He says, Arch Manning apologized
- 31:01Speaker 1: to Holly Rowe as he should have. Where's Sarkeesian's apology?
- 31:06Speaker 1: Because without the head coach acting like a jerk, his
- 31:09Speaker 1: QB isn't in this position and a massive Texas win
- 31:12Speaker 1: isn't overshadowed by nonsense. Well, first off, you guys are
- 31:15Speaker 1: the one overshadowing the win by this quote nonsense. And
- 31:18Speaker 1: let's remember this too. There were technical difficulties, and I
- 31:23Speaker 1: don't know if you see that about technical difficulties ESPN
- 31:25Speaker 1: was having. They had technical difficulties at the half. Sarkeesian
- 31:30Speaker 1: waited patiently. Laura Rutledge couldn't get him, so he took off.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Rutledge later told viewers he had been patient with the
- 31:38Speaker 1: network's equipment problems. Then he apologized for leaving and that
- 31:41Speaker 1: ESPN owed him an apology. That's what Rutledge said. We
- 31:45Speaker 1: owe him an apology for that. We kept him waiting
- 31:47Speaker 1: and we couldn't even do anything.
- 31:49Speaker 2: After.
- 31:50Speaker 1: The game was over. There were still technical problems. Sarkeesian
- 31:53Speaker 1: wasn't waiting. What he actually said, did you see what
- 31:58Speaker 1: he actually screamed? That's called Texas fight. He said it twice.
- 32:05Speaker 1: And then he threw the hook'em sign. Can we turn
- 32:07Speaker 1: those up now? We can't turn the horns up yet. Okay.
- 32:11Speaker 1: It's got to be at the end of the year.
- 32:12Speaker 1: And then he left. He didn't say anything bad. He
- 32:15Speaker 1: didn't cuss. He just said, that's called Texas fight. Gave
- 32:19Speaker 1: the hook'em sign. Bolted. But now Woken is asking, when
- 32:24Speaker 1: is Sarkeesian going to apologize? For what? What the hell
- 32:29Speaker 1: does he have to apologize about? See, this is the mob.
- 32:32Speaker 1: This is how the mob. What does he have to,
- 32:33Speaker 1: should he apologize?
- 32:34Speaker 3: No.
- 32:36Speaker 2: No.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Not at all. This is ridiculous. This is where we
- 32:40Speaker 1: are in 2026. Everybody's got to apologize. You live in apology.
- 32:46Speaker 1: You didn't even do anything. And you still have to, no.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Sarkeesian needs to tell them to stick it. That's what
- 32:50Speaker 1: he needs to do. I wish he would go Mike
- 32:54Speaker 1: Gundy at the podium. He'd be like, you can do
- 32:57Speaker 1: this to Arch Manning, but come at me. Like, I
- 32:58Speaker 1: wish you, you think he's got that in him? You
- 33:02Speaker 1: think he's got that kind of Mike Gundy in him? Like,
- 33:04Speaker 1: come at me. Like, come get me. You're not going to,
- 33:07Speaker 1: your words don't hurt me. God, these people. These people,
- 33:13Speaker 1: Holly Roe has now and forever overtaken Beth Moens for me.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Over this. Seriously. Forever, Beth Moens was the worst for me.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Now she's the second worst. Holly Roe is number one.
- 33:29Speaker 3: No, that's not. No, that's a bold step, man. That's
- 33:33Speaker 3: a bold step.
- 33:34Speaker 5: You've forgotten how irritating Beth Moens is.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Probably. Probably I'm feeding on emotion right now.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:42Speaker 1: This is just ridiculous. All right. She's 1A. Yeah, I
- 33:46Speaker 1: don't want to see her face on the sideline. Coach...
- 33:51Speaker 1: Shut up. Get out of here. Nobody even cares what
- 33:54Speaker 1: you have to say. Like, this whole thing, we've got Woken, Arbok,
- 33:59Speaker 1: all these people now just... The mob is just floating
- 34:02Speaker 1: in on Texas. Or let me ask you this. Is
- 34:05Speaker 1: it because it's Texas? If Ryan Day had won and
- 34:09Speaker 1: done that, would they have done this to him?
- 34:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 1: You think?
- 34:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:14Speaker 1: It's just the mob. Yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 5: And Woken, you know, it's... It's interesting that's coming from
- 34:21Speaker 5: Woken because if I remember right, this weekend was the U.S.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Open finals. This man was just paying attention to tennis.
- 34:32Speaker 5: You know how he loves posting nothing but useless tennis articles.
- 34:37Speaker 5: So just don't even comment on it because you.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Weren't even watching it. You were watching tennis.
- 34:42Speaker 5: But the national media, they feel like they got to
- 34:45Speaker 5: get in as well.
- 34:47Speaker 3: It's got to show solidarity with Auerbach.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Yeah. 601-885-3776.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Jason in Flagstaff. If you can't say anything nice, also. Yeah.
- 34:58Speaker 1: We're not saying that either. Jake from Yazoo. Verbalize with humans.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Use computers if your job requires. Be nice. Get off
- 35:06Speaker 1: of social media. Eat healthy. Not hard to raise an animal. Oh,
- 35:11Speaker 1: I meant human. Very well done, Jake. All right. So,
- 35:15Speaker 1: Neil McCready just put this out on Instagram. And let
- 35:21Speaker 1: me go over here and find it. I just shared it.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I'm going to read it. He says, Dear Lord, this
- 35:25Speaker 1: is absurd. This is the most idiotic overreaction and dumb
- 35:30Speaker 1: story on said overreaction in ages. Good grief. Lane Kiffin
- 35:34Speaker 1: security plan ahead of Ole Miss. Have you seen now
- 35:36Speaker 1: the detailed security plan for Lane Kiffin this weekend?
- 35:40Speaker 3: No.
- 35:40Speaker 1: This is courtesy of WDSU in Baton Rouge. Lane Kiffin
- 35:48Speaker 1: security for Ole Miss includes... NOPD, that's New Orleans Police
- 35:52Speaker 1: Department horses, increased police presence, and governor now back to
- 35:57Speaker 1: considering military resources. This is great. Louisiana officials are taking
- 36:03Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin's safety seriously ahead of his return to Ole
- 36:05Speaker 1: Miss this weekend. This is a news report. WDSU, not
- 36:09Speaker 1: some blog post. LSU is set to travel to Oxford,
- 36:13Speaker 1: Mississippi this weekend for a primetime matchup against Ole Miss
- 36:16Speaker 1: with both teams entering the game at 2-0, undefeated. Thousands
- 36:19Speaker 1: of fans are expected to gather in the Mississippi City
- 36:21Speaker 1: for the game, which will also feature College Game Day
- 36:25Speaker 1: setting up shop. Louisiana State Police said they will be
- 36:29Speaker 1: coordinating closely with LSU, Ole Miss, and the Mississippi Highway
- 36:33Speaker 1: Patrol to ensure the safety of Coach Lane Kiffin and
- 36:36Speaker 1: all LSU players. The agency did not elaborate on those plans.
- 36:40Speaker 1: The New Orleans Police Department will also send four officers
- 36:44Speaker 1: from its mounted division to help supplement security. So when
- 36:48Speaker 1: you see Lane Kiffin on Saturday, if you're in Oxford,
- 36:53Speaker 1: beware of the big Clydesdales. I don't know what the
- 36:57Speaker 1: hell they're on. The horses, the big horses with the
- 37:00Speaker 1: cops on them. The New Orleans Police Department is sending
- 37:03Speaker 1: four horses from their mounted division. According to the NOPD,
- 37:06Speaker 1: the officers will be paid from the city roll for
- 37:09Speaker 1: their security detail while in Oxford. Due to the controversial
- 37:12Speaker 1: way Kiffin left Ole Miss, tensions are expected to be
- 37:14Speaker 1: high in the Magnolia State. While LSP security is not uncommon,
- 37:20Speaker 1: additional security measures will be in place for Kiffin's safety. Quote,
- 37:23Speaker 1: I've spoken with their athletics director, and we are happy
- 37:26Speaker 1: with the security plan, said LSU athletics director Verge Alsberry.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Governor Jeff Landry went a bit further, floating the idea
- 37:35Speaker 1: to ESPN and bringing back this idea of military resources
- 37:39Speaker 1: for the team and Kiffin. Quote, I'm thinking about having
- 37:42Speaker 1: to send him in on an F-16 mission And maybe
- 37:45Speaker 1: the team on a C-130, Landry said to ESPN, security
- 37:49Speaker 1: is going to be really tight. You know, we might
- 37:51Speaker 1: need the National Guard out there to protect our team.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I think it's going to be an interesting weekend. So
- 37:57Speaker 1: what do you think about that?
- 37:58Speaker 5: Man, it just gets dumber. It just gets dumber and dumber.
- 38:03Speaker 5: This isn't even real. It's a football coach, man. Look,
- 38:07Speaker 5: as stupid as it's gotten and as obsessed as you
- 38:11Speaker 5: people are with this.
- 38:13Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 38:13Speaker 5: A football coach left a football team. We're so angry
- 38:17Speaker 5: with him. He went to another football team. A coach
- 38:20Speaker 5: has never done that. And how this has been dominating
- 38:24Speaker 5: your brain spaces. Oh, he's coming here. It's a fun
- 38:28Speaker 5: little story. But it's not real life stuff. I refuse
- 38:34Speaker 5: as dumb and weird and odd as it has been
- 38:37Speaker 5: and as obsessed as some of these Ole Miss fans
- 38:41Speaker 5: are with Lane Kiffin. I don't truly believe that there
- 38:45Speaker 5: is just a complete psychopath that's going to be there
- 38:49Speaker 5: at the game trying something serious. I mean, we're talking
- 38:54Speaker 5: throwing a golf ball or a mustard bottle. We're not
- 38:57Speaker 5: talking real, real, real violence or anything, I don't think.
- 39:02Speaker 1: We hope not.
- 39:02Speaker 3: This has gone overboard.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Yeah. It's almost like you're trying to speak it into existence.
