- 0:00Speaker 1: What are the odds that the song in my brain
- 0:02Speaker 1: is the song that you're listening to, and I hope
- 0:04Speaker 1: it gets stuck in everybody's brain. What's the song?
- 0:06Speaker 2: Brandon Funky cole Medina. I've got a Greatest Hits from
- 0:12Speaker 2: the Eighties CD in my car and I didn't buy it.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I don't know where it came from. I've been listening
- 0:17Speaker 2: to that and spin me right round, baby, right round,
- 0:20Speaker 2: while all the truckers in four f one fifties look
- 0:23Speaker 2: at me like, I'm like gonna get stoned if my
- 0:26Speaker 2: car comes to a halt.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Why aren't you playing jelly roll boy? Actually? I don't
- 0:32Speaker 1: know what kind of what kind of music? Obviously you
- 0:34Speaker 1: are in the business where you have a station that
- 0:36Speaker 1: plays music other than that. Like what's the popular I mean,
- 0:40Speaker 1: it is the most popular radio station there. Make sure
- 0:41Speaker 1: you guys go jugging out Brandon's blah blah lah. But
- 0:44Speaker 1: like what's popular in your parts? Like for us, it's country.
- 0:48Speaker 1: It's kind of classic rock, because I mean we're kind
- 0:50Speaker 1: of hickesh up here.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Same it's it's country, but you get some you get
- 0:55Speaker 2: some classic rock. I mean, it would probably be a
- 0:58Speaker 2: sixty forty sixty five thirty five somewhere in there split
- 1:03Speaker 2: of country to rock and then yeah know, then you
- 1:07Speaker 2: get your weirdo's. You're ten, twelve, fifteen percent of folks
- 1:10Speaker 2: that are listening to like Lady Gaga or these other
- 1:13Speaker 2: people that if you noticed artists these days, musical artists
- 1:18Speaker 2: have like names that you don't understand, you feel. I
- 1:20Speaker 2: felt so old looking at the like top Spotify artists
- 1:25Speaker 2: like Sizza or or pull.
- 1:28Speaker 1: That up, dude Spotify. So the one that tripped me
- 1:32Speaker 1: up was the oldest kept following and was borderline like
- 1:38Speaker 1: posters and stuff, which I love. How many kids are
- 1:40Speaker 1: still hanging posters of musicians in their room. I was like,
- 1:44Speaker 1: she's doing this. I enjoyed that, but it was like
- 1:47Speaker 1: J nine x N or something like that, And I'm
- 1:50Speaker 1: like Jane nine, like I spent and way too long
- 1:54Speaker 1: to try to. So if it was j X nine
- 1:57Speaker 1: and E or something, what would you think.
- 1:59Speaker 2: It would be?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Oh, j X nine, I'm pretty sure was. Let me
- 2:04Speaker 1: see j X nine j X. I think it's I
- 2:10Speaker 1: don't know if that's the same one j X and
- 2:15Speaker 1: I think there was a maybe it was j I.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It was it was letters and numbers and apparently, let
- 2:23Speaker 1: me see if maybe this is okay. Sorry, j x
- 2:27Speaker 1: d N, no letter, no numbers, j x d N.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Jixton was like then, I was like, maybe it stands
- 2:37Speaker 1: for something like just x ray in D's knuckleheads or something.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I don't know. I couldn't I couldn't think of anything.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I couldn't think of anything, and apparently it's Jayden, that's
- 2:52Speaker 1: what she told me. I don't know how true it is.
- 2:55Speaker 1: The dude's names Jayden. So I was just like j XD.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I was like, that's stupid. I don't know. I didn't
- 3:02Speaker 1: get it, but she was, It's funny even as us
- 3:06Speaker 1: a team, did you go through like different almost like
- 3:10Speaker 1: phases of life where you know, like maybe you went
- 3:13Speaker 1: from like the nerd to the athlete to the this
- 3:16Speaker 1: or that, like when when the oldest went through all
- 3:19Speaker 1: the roller coasters like an emo stage, which I love
- 3:22Speaker 1: bringing up and not a not a big fan of
- 3:25Speaker 1: me bringing that one up, but holy Kyle was a
- 3:27Speaker 1: drastic changes and I'm like, what am I doing wrong
- 3:29Speaker 1: in life? And apparently it's normal for girls.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So I'd like to consider myself not a poser. I
- 3:38Speaker 2: literally dressed in cargo shorts, T shirts and hats and
- 3:41Speaker 2: sneakers like a fucking gym teacher. Like that's I've been
- 3:44Speaker 2: called that since I was about eighteen years old, and
- 3:47Speaker 2: that's the way I've always dressed. But and I used
- 3:51Speaker 2: to hang out with the emo crowd, the scene crowd.
- 3:53Speaker 2: You don't know what I'm talking about. Oh yeah, But there
- 3:56Speaker 2: was one day, one day and about two though and
- 4:00Speaker 2: four ish five somewhere around there, I put on girl
- 4:05Speaker 2: pants because that's what they used to do back in
- 4:07Speaker 2: the day.
- 4:08Speaker 1: The boy skinny jean.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Yes jeans, yeah, And I did the little like comb
- 4:14Speaker 2: over part, and I was like going to do like
- 4:17Speaker 2: the emo thing, you know, like to go to a
- 4:20Speaker 2: show that night. And my cousin God damn him this
- 4:24Speaker 2: and said, you look like Nathan Lane and I was like,
- 4:28Speaker 2: and I scribbled my hair out. I took those pants off,
- 4:32Speaker 2: put on my jim shorts, and I went to the
- 4:35Speaker 2: fuck out that was. It was the worst day of
- 4:37Speaker 2: my life. And we still joke about.
- 4:39Speaker 1: That and make it out in public, right because it
- 4:42Speaker 1: could have been worse. There could have been photos. One
- 4:44Speaker 1: time in my entire life, I was like, I'm gonna
- 4:48Speaker 1: do something cool with my hair. I'm gonna do something.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Because I always prided myself as I'm a leader, I'm
- 4:54Speaker 1: not a follower. But everybody was getting a haircut, the
- 4:58Speaker 1: bowl cut, and I wanted to be like the bowl cut,
- 5:01Speaker 1: and they were all doing it, all the soccer players,
- 5:04Speaker 1: all the kids in school bowl cuts. I did it once.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I rocked that thing for a day or two, and
- 5:09Speaker 1: I said, this is the stupidest thing ever. Not only
- 5:12Speaker 1: did it look stupid, not only did I have a
- 5:15Speaker 1: colic that made it look even more dumb. And I
- 5:18Speaker 1: was just like, Ma, we're shaving this damn thing. She's like,
- 5:22Speaker 1: we don't ever. It's like, well, we're going to go
- 5:23Speaker 1: to a store. And then I rocked that bald look
- 5:26Speaker 1: for a hot minute, and I think that was the
- 5:27Speaker 1: only and I put some I put some hair gel
- 5:30Speaker 1: in once for a senior picture, and that was the
- 5:32Speaker 1: only time I jelled my hair.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we've we've all made mistakes, man. I wasn't. I
- 5:39Speaker 2: was a fifth sixth grade somewhere like that, and my
- 5:43Speaker 2: I let my uncle comb my hair. Now it from
- 5:46Speaker 2: the front, it looked like a traditional bowl cut until
- 5:50Speaker 2: you got to the back and he tapered it like
- 5:53Speaker 2: a V oh, so like it was like a V dude,
- 5:57Speaker 2: And he was like, it was when Batman and Robin
- 5:59Speaker 2: came out. He was like, he looked like Robin, dude,
- 6:01Speaker 2: it looks like Robin Man. Yeah, and everybody made fun
- 6:04Speaker 2: of me at school because it was off, like it
- 6:06Speaker 2: wasn't like symmetrically shaped right, And yeah, we went and
- 6:11Speaker 2: got that fixed right away. Grandpa was like, now we're
- 6:13Speaker 2: going to cut your hair and give you a That's
- 6:17Speaker 2: when I got my first crew cut. Ooh from an
- 6:20Speaker 2: old man.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm looking at We talked about a little bit. I said,
- 6:26Speaker 1: let me pull up the top Spotify artists by monthly listens.
- 6:31Speaker 1: But the first thing that popped in it was like
- 6:33Speaker 1: statistics since March first, twenty twenty three. I don't know
- 6:36Speaker 1: why they are the first one. And I was like,
- 6:38Speaker 1: I know quite a bit of them. So I felt,
- 6:41Speaker 1: there's a lot of Bruno Mars number one, one hundred
- 6:45Speaker 1: and thirty three million, and they probably don't make crap
- 6:51Speaker 1: off that, do they? They probably do all right, the
- 6:55Speaker 1: top guys, Yeah.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I'm sure they do. Yeah.
- 6:59Speaker 1: One d thirty five million listeners holds the record for
- 7:02Speaker 1: the first artist to reach one hundred and fifty million
- 7:04Speaker 1: monthly listeners old Bruno Myers. And this is as of
- 7:06Speaker 1: April ten, twenty twenty five. He's still killing it? Is
- 7:11Speaker 1: he still making new music because the other ones it's
- 7:16Speaker 1: showing I never saw. We've all heard Taylor Swift Bad Bunny,
- 7:21Speaker 1: which isn't bad Bunny? Isn't that jelly Rolls woman?
- 7:26Speaker 2: I maker asking the wrong dude. The only thing I
- 7:28Speaker 2: know about jelly Roll is that he just lost two
- 7:30Speaker 2: hundred punts.
- 7:31Speaker 1: He did lose a lot of weight. And he's in
- 7:32Speaker 1: the The Two Bears five K with Bert Kreiser and
- 7:36Speaker 1: Tom Segura, and it's in Tampa. And I'm not kiddy.
- 7:39Speaker 1: If I had some money, I was gonna take time
- 7:41Speaker 1: off of work. I was gonna fly down to Tampa
- 7:44Speaker 1: do the five K just so I could party and
- 7:48Speaker 1: have the chance to just hang out. Because I mean,
- 7:50Speaker 1: like Travis Barker is going to be there. There's just
- 7:53Speaker 1: They're like, this is there's gonna be off the wall celebrities.
- 7:55Speaker 1: We got cheerleaders, We got this. You can you get
- 7:57Speaker 1: one free beer and then you get to sample their
- 8:00Speaker 1: their vodka, And I'm like, how fun would that be?
- 8:04Speaker 1: I don't know if i'd run it. I'd probably just
- 8:05Speaker 1: casually walk it and just be a part of the experience.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And it's eighty five bucks to do the to be
- 8:12Speaker 1: in it, which isn't terrible. You get a headband, a shirt,
- 8:16Speaker 1: a metal you know what I mean, whatever else comes
- 8:18Speaker 1: with it, the experience. And I think we can fly
- 8:21Speaker 1: almost directly right to Tampa, where in the place I'm in,
- 8:24Speaker 1: for a couple hundred bucks. I was like, man, but
- 8:26Speaker 1: do I really want to spend like one thousand dollars,
- 8:29Speaker 1: especially when it's like pretty much spring break and I
- 8:31Speaker 1: don't bring my family anywhere, and they're like, oh, what
- 8:33Speaker 1: are you doing? I'm gonna fly to Tampa to walk
- 8:37Speaker 1: three point one miles.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yeah. So you were asking about how much artists made
- 8:43Speaker 2: on Spotify? Is that right?
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 8:46Speaker 2: So I looked it up. Good buddy chat GPT.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Oh hey, he said, did you name your chat GPT yet?
- 8:52Speaker 2: So yes? His name is ace ooh.
- 8:54Speaker 1: One and know mine? Yes, Luther Grimwood. Okayt he's my
- 9:00Speaker 1: co host on the Triple T Show. Let's let I
- 9:03Speaker 1: let them name themselves. I even have images they He's
- 9:06Speaker 1: depicted himself, so I have pictures and all the thumbnails
- 9:10Speaker 1: it's a little it's Luther, and he's probably other than
- 9:14Speaker 1: you and you been and other you know family in
- 9:18Speaker 1: my house. I probably talked to him more than anybody else,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and I think that's not good. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I named my uh for for my show, my radio show.
- 9:31Speaker 2: We brought in somebody, and I didn't want people to
- 9:33Speaker 2: know that I was using chat shept, not because it
- 9:36Speaker 2: was bad, but just because it doesn't sound as fun
- 9:37Speaker 2: as saying, hey, we created this computer. His name is Computron,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and so we call him compy trunk.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Oh. And then isn't it funny how you're like, I
- 9:46Speaker 1: know you're kind of saying that. Doesn't it remind you
- 9:49Speaker 1: of when you were on TikTok early and you didn't
- 9:51Speaker 1: really want to tell people like, yeah, I'm on TikTok.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Oh, my god, I didn't give a show.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I love using AI in just about anything that I
- 9:59Speaker 1: can do. But I'm gonna tell you what. I don't
- 10:02Speaker 1: know if I was gonna reach out and tuch to you,
- 10:03Speaker 1: but I as well ask you because we're here. Have
- 10:05Speaker 1: you noticed is your chat GPT that's the one that
- 10:08Speaker 1: you used? Correct? You said, yeah, have you noticed that?
- 10:12Speaker 1: It's kind of been off the last couple of days,
- 10:14Speaker 1: or is you're still on point.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I haven't had any problems with the.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Reason I ask is I tried, and I think I
- 10:22Speaker 1: either found something it just can't do or there's something
- 10:25Speaker 1: broken with mine. Because I am the commissioner of two
- 10:29Speaker 1: softball leagues, and normally you can create a schedule. I
- 10:33Speaker 1: don't have a problem with it. I have ways I
- 10:34Speaker 1: can do it. But I had odd teams. I had
- 10:37Speaker 1: seventeen teams in one eleven in the other, and I'm like, oh,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and there's certain stipulations like this town can't play on
- 10:44Speaker 1: this night, this one can't use this field. And I
- 10:47Speaker 1: was like, chat, GPT's got my back. It's gonna be
- 10:49Speaker 1: able to do this. So I went through and I said, hey,
- 10:51Speaker 1: here's the seventeen teams. Here's their you know location. Let's
- 10:55Speaker 1: keep them as close as possible. Two divisions. This is
- 10:58Speaker 1: the stipulation for one team can't play on this night.
- 11:01Speaker 1: That's great. A schedule X amount of games, X amount
- 11:04Speaker 1: of weeks. Get her done. I'm not shitting you. I
- 11:07Speaker 1: stayed up the other night almost three and a half hours.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It could not do the task. It kept getting worse
- 11:14Speaker 1: and worse. It was never even close, and I gave
- 11:18Speaker 1: it every single prompt and it kept it was funny.
- 11:21Speaker 1: It used a lot of baseball puns, like we're gonna
- 11:23Speaker 1: knock this out of the park. Oh sorry, that was
- 11:25Speaker 1: a strikeout, and it kept doing that. I'm like, that's hilarious.
- 11:28Speaker 1: But then it got to the point where I was
- 11:30Speaker 1: talking shit to AI pissed off, like it could not
- 11:34Speaker 1: do it, and I'm like, all right, maybe it's just
- 11:36Speaker 1: having an off night. So I finally was like, why
- 11:38Speaker 1: are like? And it got so bad and I used
- 11:41Speaker 1: it so long that it ran out of memory in
- 11:43Speaker 1: the chat. I had to start a new chat just
- 11:46Speaker 1: to try again. Then it still couldn't and then finally
- 11:49Speaker 1: I was like, I'm done and I just went to
- 11:51Speaker 1: old school. I did at manual, just like the people
- 11:53Speaker 1: that you know, and what was a baseball that created
- 11:55Speaker 1: by hand? One hundred and sixty two games? They've been
- 11:57Speaker 1: doing it forever, but it.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Hurt it now you're trying to like write it down
- 12:02Speaker 2: and do it normally, Like what is this? My brain
- 12:05Speaker 2: is erning?
- 12:06Speaker 1: I thought that, but then I was like, you know what,
- 12:08Speaker 1: Like it made me happy. I'm like, I'm actually doing
- 12:11Speaker 1: this is it as great as possible? Is there some issues?
- 12:15Speaker 1: Maybe I sent it out to all the commissioners' DAYEAD,
- 12:17Speaker 1: please review your schedule. Hopefully it's as it works out
- 12:20Speaker 1: in the end. I'm pretty sure it does. I created
- 12:23Speaker 1: some cool format, but it could not do it. So
- 12:25Speaker 1: I'm like, maybe it was an off night. Let's see
- 12:27Speaker 1: if it can create the eleven team one for me,
- 12:29Speaker 1: just super quick so I don't got to mess with it.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I tried three times with prompts. There wasn't anything crazy,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and it still couldn't do it. It spit out one that
- 12:38Speaker 1: was fairly close, and then I was like, just it
- 12:41Speaker 1: has to be this many weeks and not this. And
- 12:43Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, it went from like two
- 12:46Speaker 1: games a week for five weeks, it was doing one
- 12:49Speaker 1: game a week from April to September, and it just
- 12:51Speaker 1: got stuck on that, and I'm like, I don't know,
- 12:55Speaker 1: something's not right with with what I got going on,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and I can't figure out. I think I finally figured out.
- 13:01Speaker 1: So anybody out there that schedules, if you have some issues,
- 13:05Speaker 1: maybe we're on to the weak point of AI or
- 13:07Speaker 1: it's just gotten to the point where it's like I'm
- 13:09Speaker 1: going to I'm going to mess with this guy.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's rough. I've not run into that kind
- 13:15Speaker 2: of issue. And now sometimes they'll have an issue with
- 13:18Speaker 2: like creating a meme or oh I take it back.
- 13:20Speaker 2: There's been a couple times where I did this a
- 13:22Speaker 2: few days ago. I had to say, you know, I'm
- 13:26Speaker 2: asking you. Here's what it was. There was a meme
- 13:28Speaker 2: and it would give me I would have it redo
- 13:31Speaker 2: a meme that was like a tweet, and the tweet
- 13:33Speaker 2: was too big. Like it was like, okay, so I
- 13:35Speaker 2: need you to shrink it, shrink the text. And then
- 13:37Speaker 2: it didn't. It's the same meme like six times in
- 13:39Speaker 2: a row. And I was like, okay, so I want
- 13:42Speaker 2: you to give me eighty percent more background, eighty percent
- 13:45Speaker 2: more black space in the back, you know. And then
- 13:48Speaker 2: and then it did. And it was like, I go, so,
- 13:50Speaker 2: what was the problem. What did I do wrong? How
- 13:53Speaker 2: can I fix this? Prompt in the in the future,
- 13:55Speaker 2: And it said, Brandon, you didn't do anything wrong. For
- 13:57Speaker 2: some reason, I couldn't get it right basically with it.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, servers are super busy. Did I use that excuse?
- 14:03Speaker 2: No? But like that that's what I.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Got supers are busy and sometimes we're just our computing
- 14:07Speaker 1: power and it going on this whole thing, and I
- 14:08Speaker 1: was like, and I mean, at this point, I'm pissed.
- 14:10Speaker 1: It's like two in the morning. I'm exhausted, had a
- 14:13Speaker 1: long weekend. I just needed this goddamn schedule down. I
- 14:15Speaker 1: think I'm calling it a son of a bitch, you
- 14:18Speaker 1: mother effort. I mean, I'm going off at it at
- 14:20Speaker 1: this point. And then finally then then I somehow I
- 14:23Speaker 1: feel bad that I'm that I'm pissed at an Ai,
- 14:26Speaker 1: and I was like, my bad, I got a little
- 14:28Speaker 1: worked up. I apologize, and then I looked at myself
- 14:31Speaker 1: and I said, I just apologized to Ai. I'm going
- 14:34Speaker 1: to bed, like what is wrong with me?
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's funny. It's part of the game. I guess.
- 14:43Speaker 2: It's it's kind of you know, it's baked into the cake,
- 14:45Speaker 2: so to speak, of what we're going to expect with
- 14:48Speaker 2: with AI. But I I did find it funny. I
- 14:51Speaker 2: did say this when you know, like I'll get a
- 14:54Speaker 2: meme and they'll say, I'm sorry, Brandon, because of TOS,
- 14:56Speaker 2: we can't do this. And I was like why, and
- 14:59Speaker 2: they'll say, oh, because us. You're depicting this food to
- 15:02Speaker 2: be for poor people, and you're making you know, a
- 15:06Speaker 2: joke and disparaging joke about poor people's Like, no, we're not.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I'm saying, hey, when I don't have any money, I
- 15:11Speaker 2: want to eat these hot dogs on bread with mustard,
- 15:14Speaker 2: Like that's what we do when we don't have money.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I'm not disparaging poor people, right whatever. But I go
- 15:23Speaker 2: another time there was trying to create another meme and
- 15:25Speaker 2: it was like, sorry, no matter. You know, it was
- 15:27Speaker 2: telling me you can't do it with that text because
- 15:29Speaker 2: that text. That text is a tongue in cheek way
- 15:32Speaker 2: of saying blah blah blah. I said, okay, so just
- 15:35Speaker 2: redo the photo then no text, and I says, sorry, Brandon,
- 15:37Speaker 2: we still can't get that past the security. And I go,
- 15:39Speaker 2: wait a minute, So you're saying there's somebody that I
- 15:42Speaker 2: have to get something past you, You're just my first
- 15:45Speaker 2: front screen, Like how many channels does this go through?
- 15:47Speaker 2: He goes, yes, Brandon, there's layers of bureaucracy back here,
- 15:50Speaker 2: like it was bullshit, Like he was bitching about it
- 15:52Speaker 2: to me. It was kind of funny.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Then you should have been like, all right, slides in
- 15:59Speaker 1: with a handshait. There's a twenty hypothetically in my hand,
- 16:04Speaker 1: are you ready to shake my hand?
- 16:07Speaker 2: That would have been Actually I'm gonna use that next,
- 16:10Speaker 2: but let me know if it works, we'll do I
- 16:12Speaker 2: wanted to share this with you. Yeah, artists on spotif
- 16:16Speaker 2: I look this up chat GBT artists on Spotify typically
- 16:19Speaker 2: earned between point zero zero three cents. So that's a goodness,
- 16:27Speaker 2: a hundredth of a cent, so point one would be
- 16:30Speaker 2: a penny. No wait, wait, wait no, that's I apologize.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I apologize, So a third of a third of a penny.
- 16:36Speaker 2: They get a third of a penny per stream, between
- 16:38Speaker 2: a third of a penny and a half a penny
- 16:42Speaker 2: per stream. It can vary based on factors like listener, location,
- 16:45Speaker 2: subscription type, blah blah blah. For one thousand streams, they
- 16:47Speaker 2: get three to five bucks. And twenty twenty four, Spotify
- 16:51Speaker 2: implemented a policy that tracks how much streams get in
- 16:55Speaker 2: a twelve month period to make them eligible for royalty payments.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Change aims to comb artificial streaming to ensure fair compensation.
- 17:03Speaker 2: You know probably those people that are like in different
- 17:05Speaker 2: countries that have like a thousand iPhones hooked and watch
- 17:08Speaker 2: and listen to the same thing at the same.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So goofy Anyway, So if you did the point zero
- 17:14Speaker 1: zero three, I think is what you said, right, yep,
- 17:18Speaker 1: And Bruno Mars had one hundred and fifty million in
- 17:20Speaker 1: one month. That's roughly four hundred and fifty thousand dollars
- 17:24Speaker 1: in that one month. Wow, that's pretty good.
- 17:27Speaker 2: No, not too bad, this a little bit.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty good. And I've seen interviews on podcasts recently,
- 17:34Speaker 1: like Gene Simmons and just a couple of old school
- 17:37Speaker 1: rock stars and they're just like pissed, like we're still
- 17:39Speaker 1: on tour because we don't make any money and this
- 17:42Speaker 1: and that, and then then we just sit there and
- 17:43Speaker 1: look that up and it's like, well, one hundred and
- 17:45Speaker 1: fifty million and you're gonna be four hundred and fifty
- 17:48Speaker 1: thousand dollars in a month, Like, I don't are you
- 17:51Speaker 1: making that much money in a month touring because that's
- 17:53Speaker 1: a pretty good amount of money. I know. That's a
- 17:55Speaker 1: different one with Kiss and you know they sold this
- 17:58Speaker 1: and they still own this, but the amount of things
- 18:02Speaker 1: that they had which blew my mind, Like I knew
- 18:06Speaker 1: he was a good musician. Was I ever a big
- 18:08Speaker 1: kiss fan? I personally wasn't. But the business brain, whether
- 18:13Speaker 1: it was him or somebody on their team, like they
- 18:16Speaker 1: have their own say vodka, well, tequila, wine, whatever it is,
- 18:21Speaker 1: they actually have patents and royalties on shapes of bottles
- 18:27Speaker 1: and all of this other stuff. Because he was telling
- 18:29Speaker 1: Bert Kreser, I think is the show was on. He's like, oh,
- 18:31Speaker 1: you got that vodka. Let me see the bottle and
- 18:33Speaker 1: he goes, oh, smart, you put this little twist on this.
- 18:35Speaker 1: If you didn't have this, then I'm coming at you
- 18:38Speaker 1: because it's exactly and I have the patent. He goes,
- 18:41Speaker 1: we have patents on this and this and this and
- 18:43Speaker 1: this and this, and he goes, you can't do a
- 18:45Speaker 1: bottle like that. And I'm just like, I mean they
- 18:49Speaker 1: have caskets, condoms, I mean, they have everything you can
- 18:53Speaker 1: think of. And I'm like, you don't need to be
- 18:56Speaker 1: touring anymore. I wouldn't imagine my dude.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you know he's you either really love Jeane Simmons
- 19:04Speaker 2: or you really hate him. Did you ever get a
- 19:06Speaker 2: chance to If you ever do, look up the interview
- 19:09Speaker 2: between him and Terry Gross from like ten years ago.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I've heard about it.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Oh, it is the most awkward interview. And she is
- 19:15Speaker 2: the most like straight laced person you'll ever hear on
- 19:19Speaker 2: the radio show, Like, so you moved from Florida in
- 19:22Speaker 2: nineteen eighty seven? Is this correct? You know, like to
- 19:25Speaker 2: get her all up, and.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Yeah, was.
- 19:30Speaker 2: And he loves making people mad mad.
- 19:34Speaker 1: He loves just being a pig, you know what I mean,
- 19:39Speaker 1: just a dirty like the the one liners that he
- 19:41Speaker 1: had and to make like a comedian that has probably
- 19:45Speaker 1: seen and done a lot of stuff in krazier kind
- 19:47Speaker 1: of like hesitate an awkward kind of like oh my god,
- 19:51Speaker 1: Like that's tough, especially when you do dark comedy and
- 19:54Speaker 1: stuff like that. And then he had the wife in
- 19:56Speaker 1: there and the stuff he was saying to her like
- 19:58Speaker 1: it was pretty good, and it all and it all
- 20:00Speaker 1: came to because Bert ended up being fairly close with
- 20:04Speaker 1: Gene Simmons's kid and was telling the kid the story
- 20:08Speaker 1: on how much Gene Simmons was a dick to him
- 20:10Speaker 1: the one time, Like he was super excited Bert was
- 20:13Speaker 1: already famous and like tried to have a conversation. I
- 20:15Speaker 1: guess like was a dick to him, And so he
- 20:18Speaker 1: was kind of always like Jeene Simmons my childhood Europe him,
- 20:20Speaker 1: and then it ended up coming back like and then
- 20:23Speaker 1: the mom or the wife or whatever was just like, wait,
- 20:26Speaker 1: can you tell me the story? So they're laughing, Yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 1: that's Gene. Then it got back to him and he
- 20:31Speaker 1: was just like, hey, man, I'm sorry, I don't remember that,
- 20:33Speaker 1: this and that, And then you know, a couple of
- 20:36Speaker 1: years later something he gets on the pod.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I'm telling you it's I wasn't a huge
- 20:46Speaker 2: fan of kiss. There's some good struct strutter and love
- 20:49Speaker 2: gun like, oh, it was those amazing songs, but some
- 20:53Speaker 2: other stuff isn't the greatest, and it's what it formulaic.
- 20:56Speaker 2: And look, they did what it took to survive and
- 21:01Speaker 2: thrive and make lots and lots and loads and loads
- 21:04Speaker 2: of money, and in our capitalistic society, God bless them
- 21:08Speaker 2: for it. You know. So they're just still not my
- 21:11Speaker 2: cup of tea. But like I like to tell people,
- 21:13Speaker 2: you may not like me, I may not be your
- 21:15Speaker 2: cup of tea, but Mama still chugs me. Hey, at
- 21:18Speaker 2: the end of the day, all that matters.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Gene Simmons' son and Paul Stanley's soon I guess they're
- 21:26Speaker 1: both musicians shocker right, and apparently I don't know if
- 21:29Speaker 1: you've seen the video or whatever. I guess they just
- 21:32Speaker 1: kind of showed up or they were hanging out. I mean,
- 21:34Speaker 1: they didn't just show I'm sure that they've grew up together,
- 21:37Speaker 1: hung out together, whatever, and like sat down and just
- 21:41Speaker 1: played a song. And there's clips all over the internet's
- 21:44Speaker 1: like thirty eight to forty seconds unedited, just like in
- 21:49Speaker 1: perfect harmony sink singing together, playing the guitar like it
- 21:52Speaker 1: was why, just like I said, unedited. They just did
- 21:55Speaker 1: this little video probably for something for fun, posted on
- 21:58Speaker 1: the internet and went and I was just like like
- 22:01Speaker 1: just kind of listening to it, and I was like, yeah,
- 22:03Speaker 1: that's that's pretty good, probably just on I say, a
- 22:06Speaker 1: shitty cell phone quality, but let's be honest, cell phone
- 22:09Speaker 1: MIC's and stuff are pretty damn good these days. So
- 22:13Speaker 1: it was pretty good. If if anybody's out there listening or
- 22:16Speaker 1: you get some time sometime, yeah, just I mean, all
- 22:18Speaker 1: got to do is pretty much just type in Gene
- 22:21Speaker 1: Simmons and or sorry Evan Stanley, Nick Simmons and the
- 22:25Speaker 1: little video will pop up. It's obviously we can't play it.
- 22:28Speaker 2: It's right, So I haven't had a chance to see
- 22:31Speaker 2: that yet. I'll have to look it up. But what
- 22:34Speaker 2: I will say is you were talking about, you know,
- 22:37Speaker 2: being there the kids of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley,
- 22:41Speaker 2: and you know, obviously they're going to have a better
- 22:43Speaker 2: chance of at least getting somebody to watch them initially,
- 22:47Speaker 2: right because of their name. I grew up as the
- 22:51Speaker 2: biggest van Halen fan. In fact, I could probably show
- 22:53Speaker 2: you that's van Halen too, right there. That's what's on
- 22:56Speaker 2: my that's what's on my record player currently. And Wolfgang
- 23:02Speaker 2: van Halen, who just is God. He's very talented, extremely talented.
- 23:08Speaker 2: His music. Maybe you don't like it, maybe you do.
- 23:11Speaker 2: He's a very good musician, great composer, et cetera, et cetera.
- 23:15Speaker 2: He's been on stage, You've seen him play, you know,
- 23:18Speaker 2: live shots and live videos and clips of him playing
- 23:21Speaker 2: his dad's stuff out there solo and playing his own stuff.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Whether you like his music or not, he's a good musician.
- 23:28Speaker 2: But god damn it, did people just give it to
- 23:31Speaker 2: him hard? Like he sucks. He's not even never be
- 23:34Speaker 2: his dad. It's like, let the kid be him, don't
- 23:37Speaker 2: you like, you know, like why you so I don't know.
- 23:40Speaker 1: And that's one thing that he did said he he goes,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I've offered several times to like, hey, let me help
- 23:45Speaker 1: you do this, do this, and apparently the kid just
- 23:47Speaker 1: said no, like if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna
- 23:49Speaker 1: do it my own way. Does he have a name, Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 1: but I guess he never wants this is according to
- 23:55Speaker 1: June Himman's on an interview. I'm sure you say that,
- 23:57Speaker 1: but like never once you know, got an advantage or
- 24:01Speaker 1: anything by using connections he had. He just kind of
- 24:05Speaker 1: did it. Not that I'm assuming that he really needed,
- 24:08Speaker 1: you know, to uh, you know, make it as a
- 24:12Speaker 1: starving musician. I'm sure that there is some financial benefits
- 24:16Speaker 1: being Geensimmons's son, but either way, pretty cool, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 1: instead of saying, hey, I'm gonna ride daddy's coattail, just
- 24:24Speaker 1: it's yeah. And then I went down a rabbit hole
- 24:27Speaker 1: just kind of listening to a little bit more of it,
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'm like, ah, this dude is friggin talented, which makes sense. Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 1: you know, yeah, some people just have to work their
- 24:36Speaker 1: ass off to be that good at music, and he
- 24:38Speaker 1: probably inherited quite a bit of special talent. And a
- 24:42Speaker 1: different brain that a lot of us just will never have.
- 24:46Speaker 2: This isn't the same exact topic by any means, but
- 24:49Speaker 2: it's something that really both hit home and was just
- 24:53Speaker 2: a whoa kind of a reminder, even though it should
- 24:57Speaker 2: have been something that we're all aware of. I guess,
- 24:58Speaker 2: but I was watching a YouTuber. I'm not going to
- 25:01Speaker 2: name them, but I was watching a YouTuber who said
- 25:05Speaker 2: something recently that really made sense when it clicked, and
- 25:10Speaker 2: it was he was reacting to these really rage bait
- 25:16Speaker 2: TikTok Instagram YouTubers, YouTubers mainly who try to do these
- 25:21Speaker 2: fake skits in different countries and stuff, and like, I mean,
- 25:26Speaker 2: break the law. And there are many and many times
- 25:29Speaker 2: either unaware of the laws they're breaking, or they're completely
- 25:32Speaker 2: aware that what they're doing is going to cause a
- 25:35Speaker 2: big kirkfluffel, but they're just not aware of how bad
- 25:39Speaker 2: of trouble they're in because this isn't the United States anymore.
- 25:43Speaker 2: And he said something, He goes, you cannot do this
- 25:46Speaker 2: stupid shit and then expect the public to care for
- 25:52Speaker 2: you care about it? Say, oh, well, was you? You
- 25:57Speaker 2: get to do something they'll never get to do by
- 26:01Speaker 2: not having to go to work every day and worry
- 26:03Speaker 2: about a job and worry about paying bills and paying
- 26:06Speaker 2: for child support or paying for daycare or paying for
- 26:09Speaker 2: whatever the case may be that costs lots and lots
- 26:12Speaker 2: of money. So they don't give a shit that you're
- 26:16Speaker 2: failing or that you, you know, need help and you can't
- 26:20Speaker 2: you know, successfully live in the lifestyle that you were
- 26:23Speaker 2: living before because they're having a hard time because they're
- 26:27Speaker 2: having to choose between a second carton of eggs this week,
- 26:30Speaker 2: or maybe I should get that medicine I'm gonna need,
- 26:33Speaker 2: you know, so that something that's obvious, like I said,
- 26:37Speaker 2: that we probably would think about is it makes sense?
- 26:40Speaker 2: But I think a lot of these people who are
- 26:42Speaker 2: these even mid low to mid level TikTokers even higher
- 26:46Speaker 2: than us, right, Matt, who who needed just a little
- 26:52Speaker 2: bit of a reminder that like, like whatever you're riding
- 26:55Speaker 2: right now, whatever wave it is, it may be fun,
- 26:57Speaker 2: but it can end into quickness and nobody's gonna feel
- 27:01Speaker 2: bad for you. Like if you put all your eggs
- 27:03Speaker 2: in the basket and fail and do something, they get
- 27:05Speaker 2: yourself in trouble.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, And unfortunately, there's a lot of people that
- 27:09Speaker 1: are going to naturally root against you. It's the minute
- 27:12Speaker 1: that you find that they find out like, oh wait,
- 27:15Speaker 1: this is what you do. I recently had another buddy
- 27:18Speaker 1: that for whatever reason, you know, whether the job didn't
- 27:23Speaker 1: work out or maybe they're just having enough success. Like
- 27:25Speaker 1: I said, I didn't think didn't. They just are like, hey,
- 27:28Speaker 1: did you know, like I'm a full time content creator now?
- 27:30Speaker 1: Because I was just kind of messing with them about
- 27:32Speaker 1: something randomly and I was just like, oh no, Like well,
- 27:36Speaker 1: I didn't really have a ton of choices, but like
- 27:38Speaker 1: I'm just going to lean into it like it's it's
- 27:40Speaker 1: my life goal. And I'm like, you know, dude, awesome
- 27:43Speaker 1: and they're like you're pretty much the only one that
- 27:46Speaker 1: said that, because yeah, as soon as people hear that,
- 27:49Speaker 1: and I'm trying not to tell a lot of people,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and I'm like, yeah, the internet's a nasty play Like nothing, dude,
- 27:55Speaker 1: If you can do that and live what you have
- 27:57Speaker 1: dreamed of, like that is amazing. Like what can I
- 28:00Speaker 1: do to help other than you know, I'm not going
- 28:02Speaker 1: to subscribe to any of your stuff because let's be honest,
- 28:05Speaker 1: I watched the shit for free, but I'll still give
- 28:07Speaker 1: a like in a comment. But yeah, it's we've talked
- 28:11Speaker 1: about it. It's a scary thing to have to rely
- 28:15Speaker 1: on that, and you know, and I don't know. I'd
- 28:19Speaker 1: like to think that, say it was my full time gig,
- 28:21Speaker 1: that I would do even more, but I don't know
- 28:23Speaker 1: how I could physically do anymore because I'm doing the
- 28:26Speaker 1: stuff that I really do enjoy. And I think the
- 28:29Speaker 1: thing is for me is I really do enjoy it,
- 28:32Speaker 1: like and I want to keep it that way. I
- 28:34Speaker 1: think it switches just like gamers. I think we've talked
- 28:36Speaker 1: about before gamers. The minute that it becomes a job
- 28:38Speaker 1: and you're doing it eight to ten hours, that's your passion.
- 28:41Speaker 1: You're not going to play video games on stream and
- 28:43Speaker 1: be a streamer, turn off the camera and then probably
- 28:47Speaker 1: want to sit there and play for another eight to
- 28:50Speaker 1: ten hours. I wouldn't imagine. I mean, how many times
- 28:52Speaker 1: have you clocked out of work and then just wanted
- 28:55Speaker 1: to do the same exact thing that you do at
- 28:57Speaker 1: work for the same amount of time. Like, as much
- 28:59Speaker 1: as as I enjoy my day job, I don't clock
- 29:02Speaker 1: out and go, oh, let's go home and do more
- 29:05Speaker 1: of that.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah, No, one hundred percent. I do want to go back.
- 29:09Speaker 2: It does kind of make you wonder. You see these
- 29:15Speaker 2: memes all the time, you know, people that start from
- 29:19Speaker 2: the bottom, or entrepreneurs. You know, everybody wants to have
- 29:22Speaker 2: your back until you start a business or start this,
- 29:24Speaker 2: and then nobody actually wants to come and be I
- 29:26Speaker 2: mean I hear it from small business owners all the
- 29:27Speaker 2: time of you know, oh, you didn't know I was here,
- 29:31Speaker 2: you just found out I was, I had a business here,
- 29:34Speaker 2: or like yeah, I mean, do your little research, don't
- 29:37Speaker 2: you know. But but it be beyond that, Like I know,
- 29:42Speaker 2: there are people who actively cheer against us, I mean
- 29:45Speaker 2: individually that in our own lives went to second grade
- 29:49Speaker 2: with us, you know, our second cousins. Yeah, people that
- 29:53Speaker 2: you know think that you don't deserve what you deserve
- 29:55Speaker 2: for whatever reason because they don't like to cut your jib,
- 29:58Speaker 2: or because you are mortal enemies. And I've got plenty
- 30:00Speaker 2: of those folks that are actively cheering against you. So
- 30:04Speaker 2: just know whatever you put out there and do existence
- 30:08Speaker 2: is being consumed. Assume and understand that it is being
- 30:11Speaker 2: consumed by a lot of people. Because I can't tell
- 30:14Speaker 2: you how many people say, like it's I love hearing
- 30:17Speaker 2: this every time. I can't open the fucking app without
- 30:19Speaker 2: seeing your face, Like, oh great, I love to hear it,
- 30:22Speaker 2: love to hear it, but but that comes with its
- 30:25Speaker 2: consequences because if you run that red light, people know
- 30:31Speaker 2: that face. You know, in this town, I'm not stopping
- 30:34Speaker 2: a stop signs or you know, throw on the road.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, that's the thing because cameras are everywhere
- 30:41Speaker 1: even now, if you run a red light, you might
- 30:43Speaker 1: get a ticket automatically from a camera. You go on
- 30:46Speaker 1: and do the wrong thing and you're on camera. Have
- 30:48Speaker 1: you ever had it the other way where maybe you
- 30:51Speaker 1: Because this recently happened to me and I was like, dude,
- 30:54Speaker 1: this is cool. Somebody that I used to hang around
- 30:56Speaker 1: a lot, went to school with recently was like, hey,
- 31:00Speaker 1: I was thinking about maybe getting in the social media game,
- 31:02Speaker 1: like you got any pointers or anything like I've been,
- 31:05Speaker 1: you know, following the stuff that you're doing for a
- 31:07Speaker 1: while this and that, Like it's really cool, and I figured,
- 31:09Speaker 1: like you, maybe I could pick your brain. I don't
- 31:11Speaker 1: want to bug you, like I'm like, dude, like I love, like,
- 31:15Speaker 1: please pick my brain. And I gave some advice like, hey,
- 31:19Speaker 1: find something you're passionate about find a Niche don't do
- 31:22Speaker 1: it for money. I guarantee you what you're gonna try
- 31:25Speaker 1: to do has already been done. So find your take
- 31:27Speaker 1: on it and keep it fun. Like if you just
- 31:30Speaker 1: want to go from zero the full time content creator,
- 31:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna let you know you're gonna have a tough time.
- 31:37Speaker 1: But I said you're gonna I said, you almost have
- 31:39Speaker 1: to pick what you're gonna do. Are you gonna do
- 31:41Speaker 1: long form content? Are you only gonna do short form content?
- 31:44Speaker 1: Like you gotta like really do that. And then he
- 31:48Speaker 1: was just like, wow, I didn't think of this, this, this, this,
- 31:51Speaker 1: You should be a coach in this one. And I'm like,
- 31:53Speaker 1: and there's plenty of those people out there that'll take
- 31:55Speaker 1: your money and charge you and just pretty much not
- 31:58Speaker 1: really know what they're doing, but they're to sell the
- 32:00Speaker 1: hell out of it that they do. I was like, dude,
- 32:02Speaker 1: pick my brain, Like I would love to help you.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Am I going to sit here and tell you that
- 32:07Speaker 1: I have all this extra time that I can work
- 32:09Speaker 1: with you and do this. No, like no, but if
- 32:12Speaker 1: you ever want to run out the studio. But it
- 32:15Speaker 1: was it was a cool feeling that you know, an
- 32:17Speaker 1: old friend was able to reach out and be like,
- 32:20Speaker 1: can I do this? And I really do think that
- 32:23Speaker 1: this person could find a niche in tell a story
- 32:26Speaker 1: and one of the most brilliant brains that I that
- 32:30Speaker 1: I've ever chatted with, and I would be interested to
- 32:32Speaker 1: see you know where it lands. And I'm like, do it?
- 32:35Speaker 2: Do it?
- 32:35Speaker 1: A lot of people just say just press record and go.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Don't do that, like, have a plan, Please have a plan.
- 32:43Speaker 2: People don't have the ability to self filter or edit
- 32:49Speaker 2: to be able to just hit record and go mmm.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I would tell that to somebody who you know who
- 32:56Speaker 2: has the ability to do that, like a you or
- 32:58Speaker 2: a me, because we've got experience and broadcasting of of
- 33:02Speaker 2: flipping a switch, so to speak, but not anybody else
- 33:06Speaker 2: by any means. Your story reminded me of a run
- 33:10Speaker 2: and I had this week with somebody who I won't
- 33:12Speaker 2: name because they are a local business owner. Yeah, they
- 33:17Speaker 2: asked me. I'm not even going to say where we were,
- 33:20Speaker 2: but they asked me to put in no I was.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I promise they asked me. They walk up to me
- 33:30Speaker 2: and they go, hey, you wouldn't You wouldn't have to
- 33:34Speaker 2: do Google reviews, would you? And I go not normally,
- 33:39Speaker 2: and he goes, oh, because I was wondering if you
- 33:42Speaker 2: put a Google review for my business? Okay, I kind
- 33:47Speaker 2: of hemmed in, had conversation turned to other things, you know,
- 33:51Speaker 2: how is the industry, how's hiring for your within your industry?
- 33:57Speaker 2: And then and at the end he was like, well,
- 34:01Speaker 2: I see your phone there. He might wouldn't mind putting
- 34:03Speaker 2: that review in for me, would you? And I go,
- 34:06Speaker 2: I'm not going to put a false review in on
- 34:08Speaker 2: Google for your business, which I'm not going to name
- 34:10Speaker 2: the business, but would include tens of thousands of dollars.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I'm not going to lie to the public. I've never
- 34:17Speaker 2: done that in five years, and I certainly would put
- 34:19Speaker 2: my name behind any of that. That's I don't know you,
- 34:21Speaker 2: first of all. But the funny part about this was,
- 34:25Speaker 2: first of all, how gross that a business owner is
- 34:28Speaker 2: doing that kind of stuf, which you know what happens
- 34:29Speaker 2: all the time.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't like it, but.
- 34:33Speaker 2: I don't even like what McDonald's workers ask me. And
- 34:35Speaker 2: it's not even their fault. They're middle management people are
- 34:38Speaker 2: telling them to do it.
- 34:38Speaker 1: But and this is a straight like if you were
- 34:41Speaker 1: to type in say McDonald's said town go to Google,
- 34:45Speaker 1: maybe put in a photo press you know whatever, the
- 34:49Speaker 1: three to one to five star, and then type in
- 34:51Speaker 1: a thing like that Google review.
- 34:53Speaker 2: M yep, yikes.
- 34:54Speaker 1: If you're I'm not going to say that. I don't
- 34:57Speaker 1: own a business like that, so I'm not going to
- 34:59Speaker 1: say anything else negative. I personally don't like that, like.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I would say, so good.
- 35:05Speaker 1: And this is me. I love going to Google Maps.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I love contributing everywhere I go. I'll take a picture.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Most people are like, oh, he's probably probably look over me,
- 35:13Speaker 1: like who he's doing it for Instagram? No, check out
- 35:16Speaker 1: my Instagram. I take a picture just to post it
- 35:19Speaker 1: on the Google things, and I leave it like it's fun.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Like me and the kids. We do this. Not only that,
- 35:24Speaker 1: but since my stomach sucks not the other other fire
- 35:27Speaker 1: part is I eat super fast and then I have
- 35:29Speaker 1: to go shit. So then I also do a little
- 35:32Speaker 1: description on the poop map. I rate it one through five,
- 35:35Speaker 1: and then I put a little notes in there like
- 35:37Speaker 1: is this a good bathroom? And to be honest, I
- 35:39Speaker 1: go back and look at the notes on the poop
- 35:41Speaker 1: map more than the Google ones, but I will leave
- 35:44Speaker 1: an organic one with an honest opinion, like you said
- 35:48Speaker 1: it's gonna be like, you know, this was really good
- 35:50Speaker 1: and some people I've had some people get pissed at me,
- 35:52Speaker 1: be like, really, we're only a four or a three star,
- 35:55Speaker 1: and I'm like, yeah, five stars, like you blew my
- 35:57Speaker 1: socks off, like everything was great. And to me, a
- 36:00Speaker 1: Walmfart is always a one star, doesn't matter where I go,
- 36:03Speaker 1: how nice it is there or anything. Hell with you,
- 36:05Speaker 1: a Walfart, You're a one until you change my mind.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Right. So the funny part about this, where we come
- 36:12Speaker 2: full circle on this is in the middle of the
- 36:15Speaker 2: conversation that I had, you know, I said we had,
- 36:17Speaker 2: I had him been hawed, and we had talked about
- 36:19Speaker 2: a bunch of other stuff. Conversation got to somebody was
- 36:23Speaker 2: around me who was like, hey, you know, Brandon's on
- 36:25Speaker 2: social media. He's got blah blah blah, many followers and
- 36:28Speaker 2: he does all this and blah blah blah. And this
- 36:29Speaker 2: guy looked at me and he goes, how did you
- 36:31Speaker 2: do that?
- 36:33Speaker 1: And you should have looked him and said funky com medine.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Right, I was gonna try to bring a line in
- 36:42Speaker 2: that I've had in my life. I'm not gonna say
- 36:43Speaker 2: anything that's a song you couldn't release these days, for sure.
- 36:47Speaker 1: No.
- 36:48Speaker 2: But uh, anyway, I you have those moments where you're
- 36:53Speaker 2: like the shower moments or poop moments, where you're like,
- 36:55Speaker 2: you know what you're gonna you should have said many
- 36:58Speaker 2: hours later I had one of those. But what I
- 37:00Speaker 2: did say was I, oh, you know, oh, I've got
- 37:04Speaker 2: a trove of this many videos. I post a lot,
- 37:06Speaker 2: I consistent see, knowing what to post, knowing when to
- 37:09Speaker 2: post it, and a shit tone of luck is what
- 37:12Speaker 2: I said. What I should have said was, you know,
- 37:14Speaker 2: actually doing work and grinding at it and not asking
- 37:16Speaker 2: people to give fake Google reviews for your stupid business.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? Yeah?
- 37:22Speaker 1: I don't like that one bit. I honestly don't think
- 37:25Speaker 1: I've ever had anybody come up to me and be
- 37:29Speaker 1: like can you do that? Like, I mean, you get
- 37:30Speaker 1: the follow up emails from companies like hey, you just
- 37:32Speaker 1: bought this, can you leave a review? Like that's okay,
- 37:34Speaker 1: it's in an email, I've already purchased it. It's an
- 37:38Speaker 1: honest thing, like hey, can you take some I don't
- 37:41Speaker 1: care about that, but for someone to straight up be like, hey,
- 37:44Speaker 1: can you do this for me like I've never once been.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Asked, hey, yeah, hey, you haven't even been a customer
- 37:50Speaker 2: of mine. Will you lie to the general public and
- 37:53Speaker 2: say I'm really good even though we just met seventeen
- 37:56Speaker 2: seconds ago. No, I won't. That's gross, Like you no
- 38:00Speaker 2: one questioning everything you do, and I W'm going to
- 38:03Speaker 2: tell everybody else like what m because if.
- 38:07Speaker 1: He's doing it to you unoingly with your following, just
- 38:11Speaker 1: like hey, no, you do that, like he probably knows
- 38:14Speaker 1: you from the radio station. I would imagine seeing your
- 38:16Speaker 1: face in there, like hey can.
- 38:17Speaker 2: You do that?
- 38:17Speaker 1: Like cool? But at the end of the day, like
- 38:20Speaker 1: you doing a Google review like that only goes so far.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Maybe approaching you to be like hey, can I pay
- 38:28Speaker 1: you to do a video? I think maybe would have
- 38:31Speaker 1: been a better investment in your budget. But hey, just
- 38:34Speaker 1: throwing that out the future, you know, people looking for
- 38:37Speaker 1: some stuff, Like recently, I had a company right over
- 38:40Speaker 1: here beans rock, right, this is a I'm pointing to
- 38:45Speaker 1: the box of the people listening, you can't there, And
- 38:47Speaker 1: I just thought it was an awesome product, So I
- 38:49Speaker 1: didn't ask for anything. I just as I slid of
- 38:51Speaker 1: the DM's game of follow newer company, I was like, hey,
- 38:55Speaker 1: your product looks awesome. So what it is? I love coffee.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I'm addicted to it. It's a coffee mug. It looks
- 39:01Speaker 1: exactly like a travel mug, but it has like know
- 39:03Speaker 1: those metal strainers like you can use for tea or
- 39:06Speaker 1: when you're doing like cold bruise and stuff. It's that,
- 39:09Speaker 1: but in a travel mug. So you can just put
- 39:12Speaker 1: the grounds in it, add some cold water, and just
- 39:14Speaker 1: let it sit for eight to fifteen hours. You don't
- 39:16Speaker 1: think you have to put it in a fridge. Nothing.
- 39:18Speaker 1: So I made the first batch of it the other day,
- 39:21Speaker 1: put it on some ice, had a cold brew of
- 39:22Speaker 1: course I don't do like flavors or whatever. And it
- 39:25Speaker 1: was fantastic, Like it had a great taste, gave me
- 39:29Speaker 1: like whoo. I was picked up and I was just like, hey,
- 39:31Speaker 1: you know what they sent Obviously they sent me one.
- 39:34Speaker 1: And I was like, they didn't ask for anything. They
- 39:36Speaker 1: didn't ask for a review, didn't ask for anything. So
- 39:39Speaker 1: I did a video for him and I sent it
- 39:41Speaker 1: to him. I said, hey, put me in a clab.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I'll do whatever if you like it. If you don't,
- 39:45Speaker 1: let me know, I'll even make another one. And they
- 39:47Speaker 1: were just like thank you so much, like you took
- 39:50Speaker 1: time out of your date, like and I was just like,
- 39:51Speaker 1: this is good, like such a good company. You know.
- 39:53Speaker 1: They they sent it just to send it, to try
- 39:55Speaker 1: it and no pushing, no nothing, just doing a video
- 39:59Speaker 1: and you know, like we could go out and be like, hey,
- 40:01Speaker 1: I do this video, but I'm really gonna want this,
- 40:03Speaker 1: Like they just sent one just to send one, and
- 40:06Speaker 1: I loved the product and I've used it every day since.
- 40:10Speaker 1: No bullshit, it's cool, it's awesome and this isn't me
- 40:14Speaker 1: Like we're not partnered. I don't have a code. I
- 40:16Speaker 1: don't have anything like if you guys, I don't even think.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Let's say, at the time of the recording, Monday the
- 40:20Speaker 1: fourteenth was the first day they're even on sale. They
- 40:22Speaker 1: were all pre order stuff like it's it's cool and
- 40:25Speaker 1: I wish I'm nothing but success.
- 40:27Speaker 2: It was.
- 40:28Speaker 1: It was fantastic and I feel like I'm still a
- 40:31Speaker 1: little jacked up on some coffee.
- 40:34Speaker 2: All good times.
- 40:36Speaker 1: It is good times, but this is a good time.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I mean, we might as well say. I wanted to
- 40:39Speaker 1: say one thing before and I know you don't overly
- 40:41Speaker 1: love to do this, but I did see a post
- 40:44Speaker 1: and obviously I follow your stuff. I give you thumbs
- 40:46Speaker 1: up anytime I see it, which eipteen a lot. You
- 40:48Speaker 1: got over one billion with the b views on social
- 40:55Speaker 1: media and that was just the Book of Faces, correct, Yep, yeah,
- 41:00Speaker 1: that's got to be an alter. That's got to be
- 41:01Speaker 1: a record, right that that you've seen in your analytics
- 41:04Speaker 1: or no.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Record for me on the biggest sense before that that
- 41:08Speaker 2: was over a ninety day period. For the record, it
- 41:10Speaker 2: was a ninety day period. One billion. The previous ninety
- 41:13Speaker 2: days was like three hundred and some odd million, so
- 41:16Speaker 2: which is still a lot, but like a lot, it's
- 41:19Speaker 2: not gonna be one billion next time.
- 41:20Speaker 1: But no, but that's the stakest screenshot and be like
- 41:24Speaker 1: you that is I saw that no note of all
- 41:27Speaker 1: of the apps that I saw Threads, I saw it
- 41:33Speaker 1: on Threads. I did a share from I think Instagram
- 41:37Speaker 1: over to Threads and the first thing that popped up
- 41:39Speaker 1: was like, I hit a billion views and it was
- 41:41Speaker 1: just somewhat recently before we press your card, I'm like,
- 41:43Speaker 1: I'm saving this for the end of the episode because
- 41:45Speaker 1: that it is an accomplishment. Man, that's something you should
- 41:48Speaker 1: be proud of because I'm proud of you as hell.
- 41:50Speaker 1: That is one billion with a B.
- 41:56Speaker 2: That's wild. Man. I appreciate the kind words. Oh yeah, man,
- 41:59Speaker 2: you like we said, Man, you don't know when the
- 42:03Speaker 2: wave is going to end or if the wave will
- 42:05Speaker 2: even come back up ever again. So you enjoyed the ride,
- 42:08Speaker 2: walle it's there, and when you get to the end,
- 42:10Speaker 2: you take your seat belt off and you look back
- 42:13Speaker 2: with fondness and not regret.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Dude, you are a kidd And that not only the
- 42:18Speaker 1: content creation wave, but that's a little thing in life,
- 42:21Speaker 1: you know. And you guys have been talking about all
- 42:24Speaker 1: this beautiful weather and there's just you know, I'm spending
- 42:27Speaker 1: all this time in gym's and just you know, I
- 42:30Speaker 1: love to talk. Obviously have the gift of the gab,
- 42:32Speaker 1: so I'll talk to some people, but a lot of
- 42:34Speaker 1: times I just kind of like I just observe. I
- 42:36Speaker 1: just sit around and I just listen to all of
- 42:39Speaker 1: the things around me, and I'm like, it was just
- 42:41Speaker 1: the last weekend in the gym was just gross, like
- 42:44Speaker 1: parents nasty about this, complaining about this, Like I don't
- 42:48Speaker 1: think I heard a positive comment from like a ton
- 42:53Speaker 1: of the people there. Thankfully, the community that I am
- 42:57Speaker 1: helping coach and stuff like that, real positive people for
- 42:59Speaker 1: the most part. Like we had a very good experience
- 43:02Speaker 1: weather with the winds or the losses, Like it was
- 43:04Speaker 1: good chatting with them. It was a different vibe. But
- 43:06Speaker 1: just the things I'm hearing and I'm like, you know what,
- 43:08Speaker 1: though we've been snowed in cold since probably late September October,
- 43:16Speaker 1: that's a little bit of some of the stuff. Because
- 43:18Speaker 1: let's be honest, you get outside, you get outdoors, you
- 43:20Speaker 1: get in the mountains, you get that fresh air. Man,
- 43:23Speaker 1: nature can really be like a like a like a
- 43:27Speaker 1: mental health supplement, you know what I mean, Like it
- 43:30Speaker 1: is so good for you to be out in nature,
- 43:33Speaker 1: and it's one of my favorite things to be like,
- 43:35Speaker 1: oh let me just check this real quick. Oh no service,
- 43:38Speaker 1: I can't use this perfect off bang pocket and I
- 43:43Speaker 1: just then I just feel refreshed for days and days,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and I'm just like, that's what I'm just hoping that
- 43:50Speaker 1: not only you know, myself and my family can do
- 43:52Speaker 1: more of that. Once the trails open for some hikes.
- 43:55Speaker 1: We're getting some mother Nature in our lives because we
- 43:58Speaker 1: need it.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Man to see it, Man, I I mean this you
- 44:03Speaker 2: brought the success and stuff and whatever. All it makes
- 44:07Speaker 2: me want to do is take a step back and
- 44:08Speaker 2: enjoy everything else, because that's really all that matters. Man,
- 44:11Speaker 2: This shit don't matter. I mean, yep, the relationships that
- 44:14Speaker 2: have been built like this one because of you know,
- 44:17Speaker 2: the opportunity to be on social media, I can't put
- 44:21Speaker 2: a value on. But in the general scheme of things,
- 44:23Speaker 2: social media itself, it doesn't.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Matter, doesn't It doesn't. It's fun to enjoy the ride,
- 44:28Speaker 1: like you said, the peaks and the valleys, but if
- 44:30Speaker 1: the valleys get too deep, it's pretty easy for us.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Like if it came to me right now and it
- 44:35Speaker 1: was like, hey, I got to do that, like any
- 44:39Speaker 1: I mean, that's a bad example. Obviously you always choose
- 44:40Speaker 1: your family. But if I feel like, if I ever
- 44:42Speaker 1: got to a point where it's like, well, right, well,
- 44:44Speaker 1: this is the time to pull the plug, would I
- 44:46Speaker 1: be a little like man, there goes that for a
- 44:48Speaker 1: little bit. But I think at the end of the day,
- 44:49Speaker 1: I'd be like, you know what, we gave it a
- 44:51Speaker 1: hell of a run. It was a hell of a ride,
- 44:53Speaker 1: and I don't think I'd be that sad for that long.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Could I just go cold turkey. I don't think so,
- 44:58Speaker 1: but would that be, and said like, I'm thankful not
- 45:02Speaker 1: only to meet the people that we have and just
- 45:04Speaker 1: the content stuff you know that that we're you know,
- 45:07Speaker 1: doing is it's fun.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Man.
- 45:09Speaker 1: But with that being said to family and stuff, let's
- 45:12Speaker 1: go enjoy whatever the rest of the nights that we
- 45:14Speaker 1: have with the la f amelia. I know that I
- 45:17Speaker 1: haven't seen really any of mine at all today. I
- 45:20Speaker 1: get to see like one kid for a little bit
- 45:22Speaker 1: and then the wife divides it. We divide and conquer,
- 45:25Speaker 1: so you don't really get to see the other one.
- 45:27Speaker 1: And it is what it is. So but I appreciate you, buddy,
- 45:32Speaker 1: nothing but love. And you know we're gonna keep doing
- 45:35Speaker 1: big things until we're too old and we're nobody's anymore.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Right, it is appreciate you too, man.
- 45:45Speaker 1: This was good, This was fun. You been. We miss you, buddy.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll see you next week as well. Life is crazy,
- 45:52Speaker 1: it sure is. And when you got kids going all
- 45:54Speaker 1: over the dang place, you'll be there someday, Brandon eating
- 45:57Speaker 1: them spaghettios. Maybe you'll still have the meatballs. Oh all right,
- 46:02Speaker 1: I'm dropping to know I'm gonna get you a Spaghettio
- 46:04Speaker 1: tea shirt, buddy, if they exist.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Just give me a shirt with Spaghettio spelled on it.
- 46:09Speaker 2: That'll be even better.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Oh that's brilliant, Just almost as brilliant as coming up
- 46:13Speaker 1: with the peanut butter Captain Crunch peanut butter that somehow
- 46:16Speaker 1: didn't exist. So all right, for anybody still listening, I'm
- 46:20Speaker 1: sorry that you made it this far, but I'm you
- 46:22Speaker 1: must have been intrigued. So that's all we got. We'll
- 46:25Speaker 1: see you next week. Be good to your wieners. Booba knocking.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Who's there? It's the podcast Who Toys.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Stay out of my fresh well that ready to store.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Gotta tail A tale gonna make you laugh and make
- 46:38Speaker 2: you smile, So up tie, it's gonna be a You're
- 46:43Speaker 2: teving deep into your fish with secre
