- 0:49Speaker 2: Greg. My question for you is during the Eagles bye week,
- 0:53Speaker 2: you had talked about when Camba was playing linebacker with
- 0:57Speaker 2: Bond that just the added responsibility kind of pressure that
- 1:01Speaker 2: put on Blanket Ship And so I'm wondering, not that
- 1:05Speaker 2: he wasn't playing well during the start of the year,
- 1:08Speaker 2: but ever since Dean's been playing linebacker, it just seems
- 1:10Speaker 2: Bond has become more impactful and making some of the
- 1:14Speaker 2: more splash plays that we saw last year. So it
- 1:16Speaker 2: just was wondering if you've seen a difference in his
- 1:18Speaker 2: play playing with Campbell early in the year versus now
- 1:21Speaker 2: with playing with Dean Moore, Yeah, I.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Mean you notice him more. Again, I'm not charting him,
- 1:27Speaker 3: you know, on every play, but I think you notice
- 1:29Speaker 3: him more. And there seemed to be more of those
- 1:32Speaker 3: kinds of plays that we got used to seeing last year.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I Dean to me, and again, Bond's a really good player.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Obviously he's a more physically gifted athlete than Dean. He's bigger,
- 1:44Speaker 3: you know, probably runs faster. But Dean to me, has
- 1:48Speaker 3: become a tempo center for the defense. I mean he's
- 1:51Speaker 3: got great recognition and reaction football intelligence.
- 1:54Speaker 4: You can see it.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I don't know, I I think I mentioned this to
- 1:58Speaker 3: Jeff and Adam, but I happen to hear you know.
- 2:00Speaker 3: You know, I don't spend a lot of time, you know,
- 2:02Speaker 3: necessarily listening to you know, press conferences and people talk.
- 2:06Speaker 4: But you know a lot of times if i'm you know, when.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I'm home at night, I checked through some stuff and
- 2:11Speaker 3: I heard Dan Lanning, who was the DC at Georgia
- 2:14Speaker 3: before he became the head coach at Oregon, talk about
- 2:16Speaker 3: they asked him who was the player that you really wanted?
- 2:20Speaker 3: And you know that really sort of defined the program
- 2:24Speaker 3: when you were at Georgia, and he said, I'll probably
- 2:25Speaker 3: get into trouble for saying this, but it was Nikobe
- 2:28Speaker 3: Dean and he said his professionalism, his work ethic, and
- 2:32Speaker 3: I knew that when I was recruiting him, and I
- 2:34Speaker 3: knew that he'd be that kind of player, and he
- 2:36Speaker 3: kind of plays that way. I mean, he just you know,
- 2:39Speaker 3: he had those two plays this week on the screens
- 2:41Speaker 3: where he saw it immediately and he just you know,
- 2:44Speaker 3: the quick trigger. So you know, obviously the Dean Bond
- 2:48Speaker 3: connection I think makes both of them better and it
- 2:51Speaker 3: allows both of them to play to their abilities.
- 2:53Speaker 5: This question, it's more or less, and again it's a
- 2:55Speaker 5: very very small sample size. But a player we haven't
- 2:59Speaker 5: heard his name, and I think it's a good thing
- 3:01Speaker 5: is Marcus Epps. And I mean since he's come in, yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 5: feels like the defense is stabilized, you know what I mean,
- 3:06Speaker 5: ni Kobe did it at first and now Marcus Epps.
- 3:08Speaker 5: So I just wanted to get your thoughts on how
- 3:09Speaker 5: Marcus EPs has been played.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I think, you know, again, he's certainly not an impact
- 3:16Speaker 3: player in the sense that you see him make let's say,
- 3:18Speaker 3: the kinds of plays that mccouba made in the run game.
- 3:20Speaker 3: You know, Epps is not that player, but he's My
- 3:25Speaker 3: guess is, I don't know Marcus EPs. My guess is
- 3:27Speaker 3: he's a savvy, smart aware player. He probably understands the
- 3:31Speaker 3: defense and how to play in it. He doesn't make mistakes.
- 3:34Speaker 3: You don't see things happen behind him, you know, so
- 3:38Speaker 3: he just you know, normally, if you have to play
- 3:41Speaker 3: a backup, Okay, this is the way I know the
- 3:43Speaker 3: way coaches think because I've had these conversations.
- 3:46Speaker 4: When you have to play a backup.
- 3:48Speaker 3: What you're hoping for is that they do their job
- 3:51Speaker 3: and play the defense the right way. They're not looking
- 3:54Speaker 3: for Marcus Epps to be an impact all pro. They're
- 3:57Speaker 3: looking for him to be in the right It sounds cliche,
- 4:00Speaker 3: but it's true. You know, you're looking for him to
- 4:02Speaker 3: do his job, be in the right place, not give
- 4:05Speaker 3: up big plays. And that's basically what Marcus Epps has done.
- 4:09Speaker 3: And you know, look, they knew. And you know, I'm
- 4:13Speaker 3: always leary of how I talk about certain players, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 3: just because I don't want to be one of those
- 4:17Speaker 3: people that, oh he stinks this guy's I don't talk
- 4:20Speaker 3: like that. You guys know that but I mean, you know,
- 4:23Speaker 3: Sydney Brown is not a starting NFL safety, and I
- 4:27Speaker 3: kind of knew that pretty much when I watched his
- 4:29Speaker 3: college tape. You know, he was almost a linebacker. I
- 4:32Speaker 3: knew he was not going to be a starting NFL safety.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Sometimes you look at a guy's physical traits and you
- 4:37Speaker 3: think you can turn him into something. That's what hey
- 4:39Speaker 3: coaches should think that way, that's why they're coaches. But
- 4:43Speaker 3: you know, I think they know, just like they know
- 4:45Speaker 3: that Kiley Ringo is not a starting NFL corner.
- 4:47Speaker 4: You know, at some.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Point you know this and then you have to look
- 4:50Speaker 3: elsewhere or you're going to hurt your defense.
- 4:53Speaker 4: So you know EPs is.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Playing because he's They can trust him that That's what
- 4:58Speaker 3: it comes down to. They can trust him.
- 5:00Speaker 6: I just wanted to see if you've noticed something I have,
- 5:04Speaker 6: and it's about a j. Brown seems to me, he
- 5:10Speaker 6: like he always had this occasional drop in games.
- 5:16Speaker 7: And I'm not saying he's dropping the ball more, although
- 5:19Speaker 7: he had those couple over the last couple of weeks.
- 5:23Speaker 7: But what I have seen is he's not catching the
- 5:26Speaker 7: ball when he does catch it as clean as he's
- 5:30Speaker 7: like not, He's not showing the real strong hands even
- 5:33Speaker 7: on the.
- 5:35Speaker 4: It was a double cat. It was a double catch.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, So have you have you seen that like
- 5:40Speaker 7: over the season or just was that?
- 5:44Speaker 6: Am I imagining things again.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Again?
- 5:48Speaker 3: You know, I can't count the times, you know, I
- 5:51Speaker 3: don't know if i'd say that it's a problem, you know,
- 5:55Speaker 3: it's that's a hard question to answer. I mean, does
- 5:58Speaker 3: a guy lose his hands like a guy might lose
- 6:00Speaker 3: a step. I don't really know the answer to that.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Market I'm just being honest, and for people that listen
- 6:06Speaker 3: to me, they know that if I don't feel like
- 6:07Speaker 3: I know the answer, I'm not going to make it up.
- 6:09Speaker 3: So I don't know the answer to that question. You know, Yes,
- 6:14Speaker 3: the touchdown was definitely a double catch. I would say
- 6:18Speaker 3: that some of the drops this year ones you probably
- 6:21Speaker 3: look at his drops were tougher catches. Maybe we're used
- 6:24Speaker 3: to seeing him make those, but they weren't just routine catches.
- 6:28Speaker 3: So that's again, I don't want to just keep talking
- 6:31Speaker 3: about it. I don't have an answer, and I'm sorry
- 6:33Speaker 3: I couldn't give you a definitive answer.
- 6:35Speaker 6: No worries.

- 10:18Speaker 9: If you don't mind, I just have like one offensive,
- 10:20Speaker 9: one defensive.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Question.
- 10:21Speaker 9: Sure, on offense, I know I read in your notes,
- 10:26Speaker 9: you know, on the sack that Jalen Hurts took. He
- 10:28Speaker 9: said that he might have had brown open. I was
- 10:32Speaker 9: just gonna see if you can just go over that
- 10:34Speaker 9: play because I don't remember what was there, like we
- 10:37Speaker 9: couldn't see it on TV copy. And then on defense
- 10:41Speaker 9: regarding Jordan Davis, I know coming out you had expressed
- 10:47Speaker 9: concern over like he was strong but not powerful, and
- 10:51Speaker 9: I just wanted to see if like he's if that
- 10:54Speaker 9: has been developed or is it more technique that is
- 10:56Speaker 9: allowing him to play like as well, or did he
- 10:59Speaker 9: actually learn how to use his strength and to become
- 11:02Speaker 9: more power if that makes sense.
- 11:06Speaker 4: I think it's development.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I know who's working with him at the Eagles, and
- 11:10Speaker 3: I know how they're going about it. So yeah, you know,
- 11:13Speaker 3: don't forget he's now in his jeff fourth season, he's
- 11:16Speaker 3: in right.
- 11:16Speaker 6: Now before Yeah, yeah, So.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I mean I think there's been development there. You know,
- 11:21Speaker 3: I think he's clearly in better shape than he was
- 11:23Speaker 3: than he's ever been. You're starting to see a little
- 11:26Speaker 3: more power to his game, because you know, power the
- 11:30Speaker 3: definition that I've always thought of his power is strength
- 11:34Speaker 3: with movement. Like some guys can be strong like in
- 11:37Speaker 3: this really confined area, but then when they have to move,
- 11:40Speaker 3: they don't, there's no power to them. And that's the
- 11:43Speaker 3: way he was when he came out. He wasn't really
- 11:46Speaker 3: a powerful player. He was a strong player, and that's
- 11:49Speaker 3: one reason he's not. One of the reasons he's never
- 11:51Speaker 3: been a good pass rusher. But he's getting better at that.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I mean in this game he had two strong bull rushes.
- 11:57Speaker 3: So I think it's probably a combination of just you know,
- 12:00Speaker 3: the work that he's putting in and you know, maybe
- 12:02Speaker 3: maturing you know, his body. But there's no question he's
- 12:05Speaker 3: showing some power. So now you're talking about the sack by.
- 12:12Speaker 6: Yeah, Max Crosby sack.
- 12:14Speaker 9: Yeah, it's ak one low red zone.
- 12:19Speaker 4: So that happened I think on their second possession.
- 12:21Speaker 3: If I'm not mistaken, I'm just trying to get so,
- 12:24Speaker 3: did that was that first or second quarter? Oh?
- 12:28Speaker 4: The Crosby sack? I thought was.
- 12:31Speaker 6: Was it? It could be second?
- 12:33Speaker 3: No, second, Okay, it's second, third and goall second quarter.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I want to look at it. I remember it, but
- 12:39Speaker 3: I just want to look at it, so I sort
- 12:44Speaker 3: of remember it now. So yeah, there it's a third
- 12:46Speaker 3: and gall he's in the gun. Barkley's off set into
- 12:50Speaker 3: the boundary, Browns the boundary X. So this this play
- 12:58Speaker 3: is actually designed for round because that's exactly that's where
- 13:01Speaker 3: Jalen looks immediately, and in the red zone you're not
- 13:05Speaker 3: taking time to scan the whole field. So when you
- 13:07Speaker 3: look immediately, that means that's where you want to go
- 13:09Speaker 3: with the ball. So what they're basically running here is
- 13:12Speaker 3: Barkley into the flat and then it's almost like a
- 13:15Speaker 3: condensed slanmed flat concept. It just happens to be in
- 13:19Speaker 3: the red zone, so there's not as much space. So
- 13:22Speaker 3: basically what you're doing is you're throwing it off Snowden
- 13:27Speaker 3: number forty nine, who expands with Barkley and it's red zone,
- 13:32Speaker 3: so it's you're expecting a tight window. It's not going
- 13:35Speaker 3: to be wide open. Could it be thrown? Absolutely? Like
- 13:40Speaker 3: I don't know if any of you guys saw the
- 13:42Speaker 3: touchdown Bone Nicks through this week to a little Jordan
- 13:45Speaker 3: Humphrey down in the red zone where he threw it
- 13:47Speaker 3: low and away from the defense. Those are red zone throws.
- 13:51Speaker 3: It's not going to be wide out, now, you know.
- 13:53Speaker 3: I don't know if they how they coach them on that.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I don't know if they basically say that, you know,
- 13:59Speaker 3: hey you should have thrown that, or if they take
- 14:01Speaker 3: the approach that, hey, you just didn't see it. Clearly,
- 14:03Speaker 3: that's fine. You don't want to throw an interception, but
- 14:06Speaker 3: you know, I think that's a throw that can be
- 14:09Speaker 3: made good stuff brick.
- 14:10Speaker 1: All right, everybody, thank you.
- 14:11Speaker 8: We'll do it again next week.
- 14:13Speaker 4: All right, guys, appreciate it. Thanks so much.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Thank you Google
