- 1:06SPEAKER_00: World Central Kitchen provides 200,000 hot meals every day to the refugees from Ukraine, both in Ukraine but also in surrounding countries where they're at right now.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: And I want to support that organization with your help.

- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Today's guest on the podcast for three pipeline generation tips is Ryan Riesert.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Ryan, you may have seen on LinkedIn many times with some awesome content that he posts on there.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: He's also the founder of Phone Ready Leads.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: He's the host of the Revenue Champions podcast.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: He's been involved in the outbound and cold-calling world for years and years and just knows this space inside and out, knows what it takes, knows what's important, and is able to give us today three tips you can take away and use in your outbound this week.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Three tips for pipeline generation.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Tip number one if you're gonna make outbound calls, make sure that you're calling people who answer the phone.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: Now that sounds kind of crazy, but on any given list, when you're prospecting, there's gonna be two types of people people who answer the phone and people who likely will not.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: The way the math works is that about 80% of your prospecting list who's likely to pick up the phone will pick up the phone within your first five attempts.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: 95% of that list is gonna pick up within 10, and 98 or so is gonna pick up within 15 attempts.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: So if you are using the phone to prospect, the 80-20 rules at play here, attempt your list up to five times, and if they haven't really picked up, you may want to start to try other channels to engage those prospects.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: If you also take a look at um those who when you're calling, if they record their name and their voicemail versus if they don't, they're gonna be about two times more likely to pick up the phone.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: So if you're prospecting, you want to call those who are most likely to pick up the phone first.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: That includes folks who've recorded their name and their voicemail, and of course, those who've picked up the phone in the past, if you can grab those.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Tip number two know exactly what to say when you actually get people on the phone.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: So if you are prospecting and you're looking for pipeline generation, you finally get somebody on the phone, don't wing it.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Have a call script or a framework that you can leverage that keeps your message consistent and keeps you confident in your process.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Now, this is really important.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: A lot of folks want to wing it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: It's not just about the opener, literally having a framework for the words, phrases, and sentences that you might use throughout the sales conversation, especially the first sales conversation.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: But I'd recommend this all the way through uh the entire sales process.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Some great call frameworks to look into.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Uh certainly back in the day, I leveraged the Connect and Sell breakthrough script, which gave a very simple introduction and uh possibility to get through to a meeting with an expansion statement.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Uh you can look up five sentences that will change your life.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, article by Chris Beal.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Another one to look up is the art of cold calling ball Townsend Award Law.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: That particular one performs about two times greater than the connect and sell breakthrough script.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Both of them will help you stay consistent and confident uh with your messaging.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Tip three, follow up.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Most reps will give up after the very first connect or response with a not interested, uh not me, maybe even an unsubscribed.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Especially when making calls, this piggybacks on tip one.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: If you call people who've picked up before, you're gonna have a higher connect rate.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: So the follow-up already gets you into more conversations faster, generating more pipelines.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: But a lot of times, that very first connection uh was just terrible timing.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: And so if you follow up, you're gonna give your your opportunity to have more conversations faster and your conversion rate's gonna increase.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Make sure to take notes uh around phraseology that's being used in your initial conversation, whether it's good or bad.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: When you follow up, you can leverage that information to take your conversation further along in the sales process.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: So, three tips today call people who answer the phone, know exactly what to say, and don't forget to follow up.
