- 0:28Speaker 1: topics that have ever lived. It is the Secret Lives
- 0:31Speaker 1: of Mormon Wives Season four slash Taylor Frankie Paul slash
- 0:35Speaker 1: the end of the Bachsorette scandal that has absolutely erupted
- 0:40Speaker 1: the entire internet slash ABC slash Disney slash me and
- 0:44Speaker 1: I have, I mean a professional, a podcaster, a very
- 0:50Speaker 1: good friend of mine, someone who's obsessed with the reality shows,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and also someone who has like a wild resume of
- 0:57Speaker 1: crisis pr in producing. Ideally the perfect person to talk
- 1:02Speaker 1: about everything that we have learned about the Taylor, Fricky
- 1:04Speaker 1: Paul DV Secret Lives and Mormon Wive scandal. Please put
- 1:07Speaker 1: your Internet hands together for Kate Casey of the Reality
- 1:11Speaker 1: of Reality Life with Kksey.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Thank you God, kkse. Hi, How are you so happy
- 1:16Speaker 2: to be here? What a time to be alive? What
- 1:20Speaker 2: a time to be alive? Tell me about your life yesterday? Well,
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'll tell you it was crazy. I got a lot
- 1:26Speaker 2: of phone calls, and I got a lot of stuff
- 1:28Speaker 2: going on because this is like the intersection of all
- 1:30Speaker 2: things that I care about. It's like reality TV and crisis.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Absolutely just I know, I said that you have a
- 1:38Speaker 1: resume of crisis pre r and anyone who listens to
- 1:41Speaker 1: your podcast, and your podcast is a pop culture institution
- 1:45Speaker 1: of being able to have really insightful interviews with the content,
- 1:51Speaker 1: like the creators, the producers, the directors of docuseries and
- 1:54Speaker 1: of course reality shows that you watch, and you have
- 1:56Speaker 1: like a very investigative, journalist, professional vibe. I mean, it's
- 2:02Speaker 1: very like it's you're very smart, you're very astude, it's
- 2:04Speaker 1: very cu Yeah, it's just it's so lovely, especially because
- 2:10Speaker 1: you me, like we have other friends in the pop
- 2:13Speaker 1: culture recap world, and not that you technically do recaps,
- 2:17Speaker 1: but it's but the same people listen. I have a
- 2:20Speaker 1: lot of same listeners that listen to you, and it's
- 2:21Speaker 1: so great because they get to have like an expert,
- 2:26Speaker 1: you know, like get to listen to the director talk
- 2:28Speaker 1: about what the choices were and everything, like you produce
- 2:32Speaker 1: I mean a podcast that is like top tier.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So thank you so much. I appreciate that. Yeah, I've
- 2:39Speaker 2: always loved the lens through which the producers, the directors
- 2:44Speaker 2: look because you know, it kind of is like the
- 2:47Speaker 2: dessert at the end of the meal, Like you watch
- 2:49Speaker 2: it and you get fired up, and then you're like, Okay, well,
- 2:51Speaker 2: why did they make the decision on casting and producing,
- 2:54Speaker 2: et cetera.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So I love it. So yeah, I want to talk
- 2:58Speaker 1: to you a about your talk about your own knowledge
- 3:01Speaker 1: of like crisis PR and where had that come from.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Then I also need to know your specific history with
- 3:06Speaker 1: the Bachelor franchise, with Secret Lives and Mormon Wise franchise
- 3:09Speaker 1: also just like okay, yeah, a little bit of that.
- 3:12Speaker 2: So I've had a podcast for almost ten years now,
- 3:15Speaker 2: and prior to that, I had my own PR firm
- 3:18Speaker 2: and I did crisis media litigation and strategy for global
- 3:22Speaker 2: law firms. So my job was sort of like taking
- 3:25Speaker 2: whatever was in the news and helping lawyers grow their
- 3:29Speaker 2: practices by providing opportunities for them to talk about timely
- 3:35Speaker 2: issues like you know, like the Martha Stewart lawsuit in
- 3:39Speaker 2: that day would be like I would get you know,
- 3:41Speaker 2: one of my clients into all the media opportunities revolving
- 3:45Speaker 2: around that case as an expert. But I also did
- 3:49Speaker 2: crisis media when a law firm had a huge crisis,
- 3:52Speaker 2: and I would come in and help them with strategy
- 3:54Speaker 2: about messaging, and I feel like, don't you think that,
- 3:57Speaker 2: Like I can't really turn the volume down on that
- 3:59Speaker 2: because I do that with friends. Now.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well now we're in a global content creating,
- 4:05Speaker 1: capitalistic world where messaging and vibes and images everything, and
- 4:09Speaker 1: so for you to have the kind of like mechanical
- 4:12Speaker 1: eye to see past like what they're doing and what
- 4:15Speaker 1: they want you to know and what they're what they're
- 4:17Speaker 1: doing behind the scenes is like incredibly important. I don't
- 4:20Speaker 1: remember in the ate, sorry, I remember in the eighties
- 4:22Speaker 1: and nineties, like as a kid, they used to have
- 4:24Speaker 1: these things in schools where they would like be like, kids,
- 4:27Speaker 1: these are commercials. They're there too, silly you things like
- 4:30Speaker 1: I remember just like being like, oh, they're not always
- 4:33Speaker 1: nice to you. It was like it was like these
- 4:34Speaker 1: things want you to buy the toy and stuff like that.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I remember at a very early age being like, well,
- 4:39Speaker 1: that's so, they're just they're trying to fuck with me,
- 4:42Speaker 1: you know. And that is true in every way, Like
- 4:46Speaker 1: everything that you process, everything that's given to you, there's
- 4:49Speaker 1: a reason behind it. And I think that it's important.
- 4:52Speaker 2: To see it all, you know, for your absolutely and
- 4:54Speaker 2: also you know, in most cases you can walk.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Out of it.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Uh okay, you know, you just the pivot is a
- 5:02Speaker 2: beautiful thing. And if you are patient and realize that
- 5:07Speaker 2: the news cycle is very fickle and people are quick
- 5:11Speaker 2: to move on, and if you're just patient and you
- 5:15Speaker 2: do things in a professional and appropriate way, you can
- 5:18Speaker 2: walk out of something and even have a better outcome
- 5:21Speaker 2: in the end that you had expected.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, which it's interesting that you should say that. Do
- 5:26Speaker 1: you think it's a possibility of that for Taylor Frankie Paul. Yes,
- 5:30Speaker 1: but she's got to go off the grid and she
- 5:33Speaker 1: has to get some serious help. And I think her
- 5:37Speaker 1: plight is that she has been part of a system
- 5:39Speaker 1: that has rewarded her messy decisions, and.
- 5:42Speaker 2: She's addicted to the feedback loop. I don't think she's
- 5:45Speaker 2: taking any of this seriously because she's been accustomed to
- 5:48Speaker 2: being rewarded for bad behavior. So she's got to go
- 5:52Speaker 2: off the grid and get some serious help. And I
- 5:54Speaker 2: would say I think she should take a couple of years.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Then she comes back, maybe she does some sort of
- 6:01Speaker 2: like documentary like post Scandal, and you have to see
- 6:06Speaker 2: a life well lived off, you know, off social media,
- 6:10Speaker 2: where she has repaired herself, her family, her relationships. Then
- 6:16Speaker 2: she can move upward. But she has to understand this
- 6:19Speaker 2: is going to take some time. A lot of people
- 6:21Speaker 2: who have been in that social media influencer world can't
- 6:25Speaker 2: fathom a life where they don't have connection to people
- 6:28Speaker 2: strangers online. She's more concerned right now about stranger feedback
- 6:34Speaker 2: than about the own feedback that people in her orbit
- 6:37Speaker 2: give her.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Yes, it's really interesting. I started watching Secret Lives and
- 6:45Speaker 1: Mormon Wives. I wasn't a mom talk person. I didn't
- 6:48Speaker 1: know about any of them before the show started. I
- 6:50Speaker 1: didn't watch them, you know, like admittably they're very cringey
- 6:55Speaker 1: or whatnot. But as and also Taylor's personality has changed
- 7:00Speaker 1: so much, and what they showed us, like season one,
- 7:02Speaker 1: episode one, we know she's a messy person that is
- 7:05Speaker 1: dealing with like a very toxic situation and she got
- 7:08Speaker 1: pregnant and you know, she got arrested and it was
- 7:11Speaker 1: like used as a fire ocehit moment to start the series,
- 7:17Speaker 1: Like it was obviously the story that was going to
- 7:21Speaker 1: grab people to make them be like what happens after this?
- 7:24Speaker 1: So like it's this is episode one, Season one's Secret
- 7:27Speaker 1: lest one and Wives. This happens. She's not season one.
- 7:32Speaker 1: She's like not really there. She's you know, doing herself.
- 7:35Speaker 1: You know. That's like when the mom talk starts to
- 7:37Speaker 1: be like we're gonna maybe have a new queen. Maybe
- 7:40Speaker 1: it's Whitney, maybe it's the Demi, you know whatever. Season
- 7:43Speaker 1: two happens. Like the thing about her is she kind
- 7:46Speaker 1: of she kind of has a little comeback in season
- 7:49Speaker 1: two season three, Like you know, it's these these season
- 7:53Speaker 1: two and season three's are like the goal yards and
- 7:56Speaker 1: like Louis Vuitton episodes, you know, where it's like it's
- 8:00Speaker 1: very like mundane. We're like almost like back to Square
- 8:03Speaker 1: rent one where it's like Real Housewives drama where it's
- 8:06Speaker 1: like not really important, but it's just so minuscule that
- 8:09Speaker 1: like it's.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I felt I felt like the first season was just
- 8:12Speaker 2: very infantile.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's like I think the whole series is, but yes,
- 8:16Speaker 1: it's sort of like post Balllourette contestant or it's post
- 8:22Speaker 1: teen Mom, but it's before Real Housewives of whatever city.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It's this like you know, and and caveat that with
- 8:30Speaker 2: it's this weird subculture where I think they're already a
- 8:32Speaker 2: little bit stunted. So watching it is like you're it's
- 8:36Speaker 2: through this weird vortex where you're in disbelief that people
- 8:41Speaker 2: of that age have so much responsibilities when they're emotionally
- 8:45Speaker 2: and there's like a maturity, uh disconnect.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Plus they all want to look a certain way,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you know, like it's.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Their their program to believe a certain set of life
- 8:58Speaker 2: circumstances are required for them to kind of be acceptable
- 9:03Speaker 2: in their own community. And it's sad because if you're
- 9:09Speaker 2: an older person watching, you're seeing women that are at
- 9:13Speaker 2: this like really like very interesting phase, like when you
- 9:18Speaker 2: leave your parents' house and you begin to develop your
- 9:22Speaker 2: own ideologies. That's typically for most kids like a college
- 9:26Speaker 2: and like their early twenties into like their late twenties.
- 9:29Speaker 2: And you're seeing a group of women who were taught
- 9:33Speaker 2: that your own value is getting married and having children,
- 9:36Speaker 2: looking hot, looking at looking as hot, and because if
- 9:39Speaker 2: you're not hot, your husband's going to leave you. And
- 9:43Speaker 2: then if he leaves you, you're up shits criek, because
- 9:45Speaker 2: that's going to affect your your spiritual salvation. So they're
- 9:49Speaker 2: put with these weird circumstances but then there's there's a
- 9:54Speaker 2: kink in the armor because they become famous on Instagram
- 9:59Speaker 2: for doing the very things that they're expected to do,
- 10:01Speaker 2: which is like online scrapbooking. It's like you're proselytizing through
- 10:06Speaker 2: your imagery, like I have a perfect life, and so
- 10:10Speaker 2: then they become they're becoming more and more famous. So
- 10:13Speaker 2: it's it's offsetting the power structure in their own homes,
- 10:17Speaker 2: which is not acceptable in their subculture, that the woman
- 10:21Speaker 2: is making more money than the man. And then she's
- 10:25Speaker 2: so diabolical tailor. She detonates everybody's life, including her own,
- 10:32Speaker 2: by revealing that behind this image is this soft swapping scandal,
- 10:37Speaker 2: which is even silacious for out slacious for people outside
- 10:43Speaker 2: of their subculture, if not the entire world. It's now
- 10:46Speaker 2: you've sucked us in. So now she's being rewarded for it,
- 10:48Speaker 2: more opportunities. Now she's getting a reality show, and therefore
- 10:52Speaker 2: it continues the s feedback loop. So there's never a
- 10:55Speaker 2: moment where she's had the moment of introspection that most
- 10:59Speaker 2: people get from the time they leave their house to
- 11:02Speaker 2: like their late twenties, where you're dating different people, you're
- 11:05Speaker 2: having work experiences, you're meeting people that are outside of
- 11:08Speaker 2: your subculture. She doesn't have any of that. That's why
- 11:12Speaker 2: she has to go off the grid. Yeah, and you
- 11:14Speaker 2: have brought this up, and it's so true. A tailor
- 11:17Speaker 2: operates also from a place of pretty privilege, pretty privilege,
- 11:20Speaker 2: and so because of that, her internet image is attractive
- 11:24Speaker 2: and a lot of people online love like a mean
- 11:29Speaker 2: girl energy or like a boss bitch energy, and there
- 11:32Speaker 2: are fans of tailors that, as you said, like hype
- 11:35Speaker 2: up every decision that she makes, and her bad decisions
- 11:38Speaker 2: are almost like.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I'm being real, I'm being authentic. They told me not
- 11:42Speaker 1: to like blow up and like, you know, go crazy,
- 11:45Speaker 1: but I fucking did. I'm me like she is, And
- 11:48Speaker 1: everyone in the comments are like, good job, Taylor, he
- 11:50Speaker 1: deserved it. He's like, whatever it is, they deserved it.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You're the queen. How dare they do that to you?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Blah blah blah blah blah. And the truth of the
- 11:57Speaker 1: matter is Season one, I was on Taylor's side. I
- 12:01Speaker 1: remember just being like, why would anyone think they could
- 12:03Speaker 1: be the new queen of mom talk? She is, you know,
- 12:06Speaker 1: like I didn't. They really did a good job of
- 12:10Speaker 1: protecting Taylor from the video that had occurred in twenty
- 12:15Speaker 1: twenty three.
- 12:15Speaker 2: And they probably did it because she really was the
- 12:18Speaker 2: anchor of the show. I remember recapping it first season
- 12:21Speaker 2: and with christ Rossa, and we were like, they're mad
- 12:23Speaker 2: at her, but she really is the center of the show.
- 12:25Speaker 1: No, I know.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but they didn't have any choice for it because
- 12:28Speaker 2: the whole structure of the show is about soft swapping,
- 12:30Speaker 2: and she was the only one who's legitimately involved with that.
- 12:33Speaker 2: The others were like tag alongs who were like, but
- 12:36Speaker 2: we're Instagram you know, dancers too. They weren't really involved,
- 12:41Speaker 2: so they forced their They painted themselves into a corner
- 12:44Speaker 2: with this person who clearly has a lot of issues
- 12:47Speaker 2: and we could go through all of them, but like,
- 12:48Speaker 2: it would take us some time. So again she's being
- 12:53Speaker 2: rewarded with the bad behavior by by making her the
- 12:59Speaker 2: central character. But then again, like without her, there is
- 13:03Speaker 2: no show, so there's no introspection, and she's getting worse
- 13:07Speaker 2: with time because people are like, well, that's what makes
- 13:11Speaker 2: a reality show star. You have to be irreverent, you
- 13:13Speaker 2: have to have no filter. All the things that have
- 13:16Speaker 2: detonated parts of her life are now being or she's
- 13:19Speaker 2: now being told, well, that's why you're going to be
- 13:22Speaker 2: more successful than anybody else, because you're willing to do that,
- 13:25Speaker 2: and that's at the destruction of her immediate family.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to. She is obsessed with the idea
- 13:32Speaker 1: that she's authentic, that she, you know, is real, Like
- 13:34Speaker 1: she puts herself out there, she like she it's something
- 13:37Speaker 1: that she says.
- 13:37Speaker 2: But you're a real but you're also a real asshole.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and you are really not learning any lessons. You
- 13:44Speaker 1: are really in a fucked up like again habit loop
- 13:48Speaker 1: or whatever where you are you know, the feedback loop. Yep, decaying.
- 13:53Speaker 1: You are literally decaying in front of us. You are
- 13:55Speaker 1: authentically decaying in front of us, and you are refusing
- 13:58Speaker 1: to take any like good steps for your own mental
- 14:01Speaker 1: health authentically.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, also, I remember, like how many times have
- 14:05Speaker 2: I interviewed a reality star and they'll say, thank god,
- 14:08Speaker 2: this happened to me when I was like forty something,
- 14:10Speaker 2: you know, like a housewife. Because the truth is, when
- 14:13Speaker 2: people become famous, their whole brain chemistry it kind of
- 14:18Speaker 2: like unravels, it like it shifts. There's a complete change
- 14:21Speaker 2: in somebody. And that's why you see the destruction of
- 14:24Speaker 2: like young you know, actors or performers like the Britney
- 14:28Speaker 2: Spears and that kind of that group of people because
- 14:31Speaker 2: they became famous so young. That's too much responsibility, the
- 14:35Speaker 2: pressure that comes with it, and now all of a sudden,
- 14:37Speaker 2: you're an adult and people are there's like a fiduciary
- 14:41Speaker 2: responsibility attached to it. So she's like, you know, detonating
- 14:46Speaker 2: everybody's life by revealing the soft swapping. She's making more
- 14:50Speaker 2: money than her husband, and I think her family members
- 14:55Speaker 2: also wanted it. On the action. Remember we would see
- 14:57Speaker 2: them in scenes. They're like just as thirst trappy as
- 15:00Speaker 2: the rest of them. Lean her mom for sure. I
- 15:01Speaker 2: mean Leanne got a whole facelift.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I know.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah, It's like Leanne has never been responsible for her
- 15:07Speaker 2: own life and choices, and then she raised someone who
- 15:11Speaker 2: is just a mirror image of her.
- 15:13Speaker 1: It's interesting, I agree. But the thing about Leanne and
- 15:16Speaker 1: Taylor is two things. I'm not a doctor and I'm
- 15:20Speaker 1: not whatever a lawyer, but things are happening with Taylor
- 15:23Speaker 1: and I It runs the gamut. Whether she has she's manic,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I mean she's she she seems like a very manic
- 15:29Speaker 1: person and everything we saw, let's talk about it. Season one.
- 15:33Speaker 1: She goes away, she keeps talking about how she has therapy.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Then she comes back, you know, like she talks about
- 15:38Speaker 1: therapy a lot for someone who, for now four seasons
- 15:42Speaker 1: has not changed, only gotten worse, only gotten worse.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I mean, because somebody goes to therapy doesn't mean they
- 15:47Speaker 2: actually listen.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah. And also therapists, who knows what they you know,
- 15:50Speaker 1: what fucking therapists she's going to, you know, anyone she'd
- 15:53Speaker 1: even say a doctor. I mean, I'm just saying she
- 15:55Speaker 1: didn't say. I mean, she could be.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Just going to an energy healer or like a soundback
- 16:00Speaker 2: technician for all.
- 16:01Speaker 1: We saw that in season four, we saw you know,
- 16:03Speaker 1: Jesse and you know Demi being like, we're seeing energy healers,
- 16:06Speaker 1: are like, okay, well this is your crisis litigation.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I mean, can I tell you something though, please? Of
- 16:11Speaker 2: course I've noticed this about reality shows is I'm not
- 16:18Speaker 2: going to name the reality show. I'm going to tell
- 16:20Speaker 2: you I talked to somebody where they said there's a
- 16:23Speaker 2: very popular reality show where there was like an intervention scene.
- 16:29Speaker 2: But the intervention scene that played out was not for
- 16:31Speaker 2: the issue that they were really worried about. So when
- 16:37Speaker 2: you see a scene like that, like we're going to
- 16:39Speaker 2: you know, we're going to go to like an energy
- 16:40Speaker 2: healer or a sound bath person, they're attempting to make
- 16:45Speaker 2: make it known in a very stealth way that the
- 16:48Speaker 2: person that we're filming with has real issues. But they're
- 16:52Speaker 2: protecting themselves from being berated by the audience or that
- 16:57Speaker 2: person at a later date. So they're giving you a
- 17:02Speaker 2: signal like we don't want to film with this person.
- 17:05Speaker 2: There's an issue, but we don't know how to do it.
- 17:07Speaker 2: So it's either their idea or a producer's idea, like
- 17:10Speaker 2: we're going to introduce the fact that this person has
- 17:15Speaker 2: an issue by doing this like Cacamini challenge.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting, like all the girls seem to have
- 17:23Speaker 1: like one or two BFFs in the circle, and none
- 17:25Speaker 1: of them are really best friends with each.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Other, and they all much and you can't be after
- 17:29Speaker 2: season two because now the show is it's more interesting
- 17:33Speaker 2: in some ways because now we're wondering, like, Okay, what's
- 17:36Speaker 2: the okay? This one's on Broadway and two of them
- 17:39Speaker 2: are on Dancing with the Stars. How much do you
- 17:40Speaker 2: bitch about them behind your their backs.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Oh, I mean Whitney. I mean they can't stand Whitney.
- 17:45Speaker 1: They they thought they couldn't stand Whitty before and now Whitney,
- 17:48Speaker 1: I mean literally is.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Just laughing her way to the but I interviewed her
- 17:52Speaker 2: first season of the show. I interviewed Whitney.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and I remember.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Saying, so I got to look at the transcript, but
- 17:57Speaker 2: I said, like, well, you're clearly like a performed I mean,
- 18:00Speaker 2: why are you here, Like you want to be an actress.
- 18:04Speaker 1: You want to be a performer.
- 18:05Speaker 2: And she got really all excited about like I was
- 18:07Speaker 2: a dancer, and I loved she was like a theater girl.
- 18:10Speaker 2: You can tell the girl like strike the iron wile
- 18:14Speaker 2: it's hot. I think she's the smartest one of all
- 18:15Speaker 2: of them. Take advantage of the opportunity that you get. Yes,
- 18:19Speaker 2: of course, you know.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah again, just watching them dance, just watching a TikTok
- 18:25Speaker 1: of them dance, just literally it is obvious that Whitney
- 18:29Speaker 1: can dance. It just is obvious, Like all the other
- 18:31Speaker 1: girls are just moving. Jen has never been a good dancer,
- 18:34Speaker 1: pregnant or not. No one looked at Jen and was
- 18:36Speaker 1: like wow, the next win Verden like absolutely not and
- 18:40Speaker 1: here's the thing, Like there's a little bit of a
- 18:42Speaker 1: star quality and certain talents, you know, like you can
- 18:47Speaker 1: you can do something, but you might not be star
- 18:51Speaker 1: quality talented for it. Like I like to sing, I
- 18:55Speaker 1: really do, you know. It's like my little stemming. I
- 18:58Speaker 1: like to sing so much. There's just not a world
- 19:00Speaker 1: in which you've ever heard me be like Kate, I've
- 19:02Speaker 1: done it. I'm putting down some tracks in the recording art,
- 19:06Speaker 1: you know, just like whatever, you know. And I think
- 19:10Speaker 1: Broadway is a whole beast, you know, like I So anyway,
- 19:15Speaker 1: having said that need more sales than history. Oh my god,
- 19:19Speaker 1: she is the winner. Yeah she Whitney's Chicago run smashes
- 19:25Speaker 1: all a lot of it to history.
- 19:27Speaker 2: But it's not just your talent. It's the fact that
- 19:28Speaker 2: she has all of those followers. And that's the reason
- 19:31Speaker 2: that they even gave Taylor the Bachelorette lead, because historically
- 19:35Speaker 2: that show is very sacriind. They like to have like
- 19:38Speaker 2: someone's no the Bachelorette. Oh yeah, so yes, you get
- 19:42Speaker 2: somebody who's like really deep in their faith and they
- 19:45Speaker 2: don't have a lot of emotional baggage, and they've got
- 19:47Speaker 2: a cooky family and there's never been a drug dealer
- 19:49Speaker 2: in the family, you know, like, no one has a
- 19:51Speaker 2: crystal math issue. It's very like you are going to
- 19:54Speaker 2: get the pure version of a person you are. You know,
- 19:59Speaker 2: they have no history, they've never dated anybody. So when
- 20:01Speaker 2: you're like, why would they choose somebody who has been
- 20:04Speaker 2: married before, has an arrest record, was like an admitted philanderer.
- 20:11Speaker 2: She's a Mormon influencer. This person has to live in
- 20:13Speaker 2: Utah to make it work, and she's got other kids
- 20:16Speaker 2: with two different partners, or like what you know, ha,
- 20:19Speaker 2: it's because she has six point one million followers. And
- 20:21Speaker 2: that is the problem with our current entertainment business system
- 20:25Speaker 2: is that people get opportunities that they should not get
- 20:28Speaker 2: based on their social media platforms because people in producing
- 20:33Speaker 2: and on networks, et cetera, think, well, if she's got
- 20:36Speaker 2: six point one million followers, that means we're going to
- 20:38Speaker 2: get six point one million.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Viewers.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And she's got the money money situation, which is new audience.
- 20:48Speaker 2: They don't give a shit about the people that have
- 20:51Speaker 2: been watching The Bachelor or The Bachelorette for fifteen years.
- 20:54Speaker 2: They want the new The new audience is what all
- 20:56Speaker 2: the advertisers really care about the Bachelor franchises.
- 21:00Speaker 1: That's why she's just getting it.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Well. Yeah, the last season was like a ratings like disaster,
- 21:05Speaker 2: so they were like okay, but they're also trying to
- 21:08Speaker 2: compete in an era against Love Island and the f
- 21:13Speaker 2: Boy Islands. And so here's what I would say to them,
- 21:16Speaker 2: lean into what you are because I remember I interviewed
- 21:19Speaker 2: a former contestant of The Bachelor at so a guy,
- 21:23Speaker 2: and I was asking him, okay, like what kind of
- 21:25Speaker 2: dms are you getting? And he said they're all from
- 21:28Speaker 2: girls that are sixteen and under or grandmothers, and that
- 21:33Speaker 2: makes sense to me, and they're asked, oh, I remember
- 21:35Speaker 2: I put it out like I'm going to interview him
- 21:36Speaker 2: any questions and it was like little girls who were
- 21:38Speaker 2: like what's his astrological sign or grandmother's like does he
- 21:42Speaker 2: you know where does he want to raise a family?
- 21:45Speaker 2: Because women in their twenties, thirties, forties, and fifties like
- 21:48Speaker 2: love is blind because we've been through experiences and that
- 21:53Speaker 2: resonates more. But grandmothers who haven't dated, you know, forty
- 21:59Speaker 2: years and a sixteen year old have like a fantasy
- 22:03Speaker 2: vert Oh did you sound that Okay? They have a
- 22:05Speaker 2: fantasy version of romance, so just lean into that. You can't.
- 22:10Speaker 2: You can't. Why would you retool the show. That's what
- 22:13Speaker 2: it is.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Lean back into your Disney fairy tale shits.
- 22:18Speaker 2: You know.
- 22:18Speaker 1: It's interesting. It's like they had just revamped the showrunners
- 22:24Speaker 1: of The Batchorette in a toxic firing last season, and
- 22:28Speaker 1: this was the season of the New Bacheorette with brand new,
- 22:32Speaker 1: non toxic showrunners. Yeah. Okay, one more thing. And yesterday,
- 22:39Speaker 1: which is the day that all the scandal happened, was
- 22:41Speaker 1: day two of the new Disney CEO.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Okay, imagine that guy's job. I thought about him, and
- 22:48Speaker 2: I thought about all the publicists that work on The
- 22:50Speaker 2: Bachelorette and what their lives have been like.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Talk about it, talk about what do you think, let's fantasize.
- 22:55Speaker 2: I think it has been beyond awful because they're the
- 22:57Speaker 2: last last to get the information. Publicists are always last
- 23:00Speaker 2: get information, so they're just trying to work on the fly.
- 23:03Speaker 2: They are trying to like like kick the can down
- 23:06Speaker 2: the lane and not have to talk to people because
- 23:09Speaker 2: they don't even know what the answers are about, Like
- 23:10Speaker 2: is the show getting canceled? They don't know who that
- 23:14Speaker 2: the talent can speak to. You know, they don't know anything.
- 23:17Speaker 2: So I feel terrible for them. I feel terrible for
- 23:19Speaker 2: the new CEO, but also like how exhilarating if you
- 23:23Speaker 2: like love to work in crazy, that's like the same
- 23:26Speaker 2: kind of situation is like somebody who likes to work
- 23:28Speaker 2: in like a trauma situation in a hospital or a
- 23:31Speaker 2: colonel of the Marines. Like some people are just like
- 23:33Speaker 2: the chaos, like they're in it to win it.
- 23:36Speaker 1: They got it.
- 23:37Speaker 2: This is what I would say to them, This is
- 23:40Speaker 2: what you should do for the Bachelorette. This is my idea.
- 23:45Speaker 2: You put out a nation wide call to action. You
- 23:49Speaker 2: say our goal. You can't stay in the bachelrette. You
- 23:52Speaker 2: gotta go back because they swing back and forth each season.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Bachelor at bats are you say, we want the most
- 23:58Speaker 2: fantastic guy, and we want to pluck him from obscurity.
- 24:02Speaker 2: We don't want an influencer, and we are asking you,
- 24:06Speaker 2: the United States of America and Canada, can you please
- 24:10Speaker 2: nominate the person that you think is the most fantastic person.
- 24:14Speaker 2: And then everyone's excited and they're bought in, and the
- 24:17Speaker 2: ratings like they're they're invested.
- 24:19Speaker 1: In it. They're like, then Mike, look at my brother,
- 24:21Speaker 1: look at like they're you know, everyone, Oh this I
- 24:25Speaker 1: can't believe he has a meant anybody and your your
- 24:27Speaker 1: social media tag tag the guy hashtag.
- 24:30Speaker 2: But but the entire country is invested into this really
- 24:34Speaker 2: good candidate who they are going to get, who's again
- 24:37Speaker 2: not an influencer. Then you make a doc series about
- 24:41Speaker 2: the making of that season or the making of like
- 24:47Speaker 2: where do we find Mister Bachelor? I know that, and
- 24:51Speaker 2: that it erases what the hell happened with this?
- 24:54Speaker 1: That's so smart because you said it. You're like they
- 24:57Speaker 1: looked at someone that had used and were like, this
- 25:00Speaker 1: will be easy, and there is a path on the road.
- 25:03Speaker 1: You either go and do something like what you're saying,
- 25:06Speaker 1: which involves like creative thinking and passion and pr or
- 25:11Speaker 1: you do the easy way out, which is like you know,
- 25:13Speaker 1: at this point, you also gonna get Kim Kardashian. Then
- 25:16Speaker 1: she's a baucherette. She's a lot of followers, and I
- 25:18Speaker 1: don't know if you saw her on the Oscars, but
- 25:20Speaker 1: she doesn't look like she's doing that well. I mean,
- 25:24Speaker 1: you know, I think that she's probably a down for it.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I mean Kylie's doing video game ads for like that
- 25:30Speaker 1: this is but this.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Is where we are right now, and and I hope
- 25:33Speaker 2: that here's the blessing of this. Maybe this is a
- 25:36Speaker 2: real wake up call to the entertainment industry. Stop putting
- 25:40Speaker 2: people in places that they shouldn't be in because of
- 25:43Speaker 2: their follower counts. Taylor Frankie Paul is not made for
- 25:48Speaker 2: the Bachelorette. She was probably made for like I don't
- 25:52Speaker 2: love his pain movie. No, I think Team I think.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Can I be honest? She's Janelle, She's teen mom. She
- 25:58Speaker 2: operates in pretty But the truth of the matter is,
- 26:02Speaker 2: if we were to talk about like the way she behaves,
- 26:04Speaker 2: it's not of a top tier class.
- 26:07Speaker 1: System like she is. Yeah, everything is a little trashy
- 26:11Speaker 1: and I hate to say it, but it's absolutely true.
- 26:13Speaker 1: She is teen mom. And that's another thing, Like those
- 26:16Speaker 1: ladies get rewarded by people being like yeah, yeah, yeah go.
- 26:19Speaker 1: It's the exact same, you know, feeling.
- 26:22Speaker 2: By the way. I would have liked to have seen
- 26:24Speaker 2: the hometown date where Taylor meets this fella's family and
- 26:31Speaker 2: they get to ask her like what happened in the
- 26:33Speaker 2: twenty twenty three incident, Like that's what I'm saying. I
- 26:37Speaker 2: feel empathy for somebody who works the network who's like
- 26:40Speaker 2: a publicist. They're not making production decisions, they don't have
- 26:44Speaker 2: a lot of power, but their job is to somehow
- 26:47Speaker 2: convince people that this scenario is normal. That's not an
- 26:51Speaker 2: easy job or should be forgiven.
- 26:55Speaker 1: And seeing through the you know, the perception that they
- 26:59Speaker 1: want you to see, which is that, yeah, you know,
- 27:02Speaker 1: here's the thing. People aren't. Inherently, people aren't all good
- 27:07Speaker 1: and all bad. No one is. It's just that if
- 27:11Speaker 1: you're going to be on TV, you have to be watchable.
- 27:14Speaker 1: And watchable doesn't mean just someone who is like attractive, yeah,
- 27:20Speaker 1: attractive and fucked up. It's like the due diligence of
- 27:24Speaker 1: storytelling and of like the message you're putting across. And
- 27:27Speaker 1: the truth of the matter is if Hulu and they
- 27:30Speaker 1: did Disney or whatever knew what was in the video
- 27:32Speaker 1: and knew what had happened in the domestic violence arrest situation,
- 27:38Speaker 1: they chose to either put their head in the sand
- 27:41Speaker 1: or to just try and remake the message to be authenticity.
- 27:46Speaker 1: And this is what happens, and this is real life,
- 27:49Speaker 1: and some of this is real life, but what is
- 27:53Speaker 1: your message. It would be that she would have to
- 27:55Speaker 1: have overcome and gotten better and matured and like owed
- 28:00Speaker 1: us that someone will like work on themselves to save
- 28:03Speaker 1: their family. But in season four and now you've given
- 28:06Speaker 1: her a bigger platform, she's done the opposite. And it's
- 28:09Speaker 1: like not and I say, she's on the opposite. But
- 28:11Speaker 1: you all have together, the group has, you know, like
- 28:15Speaker 1: there's a lot of things coming out and we'll talk
- 28:17Speaker 1: about that. So obviously again we find.
- 28:19Speaker 2: They choose why did they choose Miranda?
- 28:22Speaker 1: Great question? I mean Miranda only now, well only season
- 28:25Speaker 1: four did Miranda even start really talking to me. They
- 28:28Speaker 1: could have chosen Layla, but Leila, I guess, was like
- 28:31Speaker 1: trying to be with Mason the whole time, you know, like.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I think, And she's been open in the last few
- 28:36Speaker 2: days about how she I think she's seeking treatment for
- 28:39Speaker 2: and needing disorder. Yeah, I don't like this show. What
- 28:43Speaker 2: the pressure that's good that these women have because again
- 28:47Speaker 2: I just didn't think. I don't think they've had a
- 28:49Speaker 2: moment of introspection from the transition of leaving your parents'
- 28:53Speaker 2: life to building your own. They became adults right away
- 28:57Speaker 2: by getting married or being around a bunch of these
- 29:00Speaker 2: married couples, like Layla needs like a hot minute to
- 29:03Speaker 2: be like an adult out in the world, and like
- 29:05Speaker 2: all of this. Now she's got to be on this
- 29:08Speaker 2: show and she's got all of you know, these sponsors
- 29:11Speaker 2: and brands, and you've got to be this person because
- 29:14Speaker 2: the brand is buying into who you are on the show.
- 29:17Speaker 2: And I don't know, I think it's better to be
- 29:20Speaker 2: a reality story and you're like in your late thirties forties,
- 29:22Speaker 2: because how do you even know who you are at
- 29:26Speaker 2: their age?
- 29:26Speaker 1: I don't know. I am only now at the tender
- 29:30Speaker 1: age of forty four. Wait, howm old forty four? Figuring
- 29:33Speaker 1: out who I am? I mean, really, I like I am.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I know that I was regressed, Like I feel like
- 29:39Speaker 1: I was very sheltered. I know I was very sheltered,
- 29:42Speaker 1: like growing up like in my own ways, I'm like,
- 29:45Speaker 1: you know, Arab, and I was the only child. I
- 29:46Speaker 1: have a very strong dad. I was so heavily Catholic,
- 29:49Speaker 1: you know, like Mormonism, Catholicism. Catholicism obviously have some things
- 29:54Speaker 1: in commons, some things that are but you know, like
- 29:56Speaker 1: to be in every Sunday going to church. You know,
- 29:59Speaker 1: like I sing in old Qa choir and Modernday choir,
- 30:03Speaker 1: went to Catholic school my entire life, you know, and
- 30:06Speaker 1: I was a little like I was sheltered. I was,
- 30:09Speaker 1: you know, immature for sure. And I think that for me,
- 30:14Speaker 1: my identity was like very much wrapped up also in
- 30:16Speaker 1: my dad and like how people viewed me, you know,
- 30:20Speaker 1: and I it's it is difficult. I am so thankful
- 30:24Speaker 1: that a lot of things I did in my twenties
- 30:26Speaker 1: aren't just like on the internet, you know.
- 30:28Speaker 2: And right, and now you've got these young women who
- 30:32Speaker 2: have the world telling them their opinions, like, listen, it
- 30:36Speaker 2: affects us and we're older. Yeah, and some of them
- 30:41Speaker 2: have young kids and they're by the way, let's not
- 30:44Speaker 2: forget the fact a lot of them are pregnant or
- 30:47Speaker 2: in postpartum. Oh my god, of course. I mean that
- 30:51Speaker 2: is enough pressure just to like work through everything in
- 30:58Speaker 2: your life while you're pregnant, and when you have a baby.
- 31:01Speaker 2: On top of it, the entire world is telling you
- 31:03Speaker 2: their opinion of who you are and what you should be.
- 31:06Speaker 2: And then you have the fiduciary responsibilities in your family
- 31:09Speaker 2: because now you're the breadwinner and the husband is like
- 31:13Speaker 2: clamoring to become a star in his own right because
- 31:15Speaker 2: he doesn't actually want to go to an office. And
- 31:18Speaker 2: the family's telling you, you know, I don't know if
- 31:20Speaker 2: this is the best representation of people in our culture,
- 31:23Speaker 2: and maybe you shouldn't be on the show. But then
- 31:25Speaker 2: she's like, but you want me to have a lot
- 31:27Speaker 2: of kids, and you want me to have the perfect image,
- 31:30Speaker 2: and I'm also the breadwinner. I'm trying to like stay
- 31:32Speaker 2: awake when I've been feeding a baby at night. I've
- 31:35Speaker 2: got publicists from the network calling me. I have to
- 31:38Speaker 2: be interesting enough to maintain the show because I am
- 31:40Speaker 2: the breadwinner and now I have these kids to take
- 31:43Speaker 2: care of.
- 31:44Speaker 1: That's a lot. It is a lot. I feel bad.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I mean, Jen had a whole postpartum thing that took
- 31:49Speaker 1: her out, you know, season whatever two or three. Way
- 31:52Speaker 1: postpartum does get deeper with each child. Then she went
- 31:58Speaker 1: on Dancing with the Stars after like eight weeks, I mean,
- 32:00Speaker 1: can you imagine, and then people are.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Really like you better getting shape, girl, Like you don't
- 32:03Speaker 2: deserve to be on Dancing with Like, can you mention
- 32:06Speaker 2: the shit people?
- 32:07Speaker 1: Right, Let's let's be honest. Before Whitney went on Dancing
- 32:10Speaker 1: with the Stars, she had a whole fucking makeover.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's another that's another layer to it, the
- 32:16Speaker 2: pressure to like look a certain way.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there's a lot of facial situations. She
- 32:21Speaker 1: got a lot of facial past clastic surgery, and so
- 32:23Speaker 1: did Jesse, and Jesse doesn't like the outcome of her.
- 32:26Speaker 2: To her credit, to her credit, she has spoken out
- 32:29Speaker 2: and said I did this. It was free or pretty
- 32:32Speaker 2: much free. I regret it. A lot of people would
- 32:35Speaker 2: not have the balls.
- 32:35Speaker 1: To say that her, Wendy m Wennie McClendon, Kobe Kobe,
- 32:42Speaker 1: who was like, yeah, I missed the Bride'smaid's Oscar reunion
- 32:46Speaker 1: because I fucking got a NECKLFT. There's a lot of
- 32:48Speaker 1: like really honest plastic surgery things happening now, like I
- 32:52Speaker 1: think in retaliation for the fact that we're in the
- 32:55Speaker 1: age of five K facelifts and everyone has uh huh.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I mean everyone's like antone Lizzie Lohan. Now.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Just as a side note, I just on today's episode,
- 33:06Speaker 2: I interview the producer of the Price Is Right scandal documentary. Yes,
- 33:11Speaker 2: and women in that doc say, what, Bob Barker, what
- 33:14Speaker 2: would say to them, Hey, I know you're going to
- 33:17Speaker 2: have like your break for the holiday. I suggest that
- 33:20Speaker 2: you use that wisely. You're you're going to look better
- 33:25Speaker 2: if you're more filled out in your in your bikini.
- 33:29Speaker 2: So I don't know, just think about what you're going
- 33:31Speaker 2: to do on your vacation. So what you're basically saying
- 33:33Speaker 2: is get your boobs done. It's on your money, and
- 33:38Speaker 2: do it while you're on vacation, and don't think about
- 33:41Speaker 2: coming back without it because you're not going to have
- 33:42Speaker 2: a job.
- 33:45Speaker 1: So I know. I bring that up.
- 33:46Speaker 2: That example is that what is expected of a woman
- 33:49Speaker 2: who is on camera is outrageous and it makes me
- 33:53Speaker 2: sad that they feel like or they have to, in
- 33:57Speaker 2: many cases, get all this stuff just to keep a job, Like,
- 34:03Speaker 2: isn't it enough to just be like super interesting and
- 34:06Speaker 2: you're giving a window into a weird subculture. You, on
- 34:10Speaker 2: top of that, have to like completely change the way
- 34:13Speaker 2: you look to accommodate. Who who are you trying to accommodate.
- 34:16Speaker 2: It's usually some executive who's married with their own kids.
- 34:20Speaker 1: By the way, that's messed up. Who do you think
- 34:24Speaker 1: is that? Like, I don't okay, Who do you think
- 34:27Speaker 1: is in the Secret Lives and Mormon Wives the best
- 34:31Speaker 1: Mormon influencer of them, because Whitney isn't a moment Mormon influencer.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Whitney is like wants to be a star. We said,
- 34:38Speaker 1: you know, like Jesse is like a hairstylist, you know,
- 34:42Speaker 1: But I do, like I'm trying to think of. I
- 34:44Speaker 1: think that Jesse is really good at content creation. I
- 34:47Speaker 1: think Randa is a funny person, and I think Layla
- 34:51Speaker 1: is a funny person. I don't know if they want this.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Life, like I think that, well, they're interesting, though, to
- 34:59Speaker 2: be a really good content creator, it's backbreaking work. I mean,
- 35:04Speaker 2: you have to like sleep with one eyeball open, think
- 35:06Speaker 2: about trends and how things look and putting out content
- 35:10Speaker 2: and then you have to be quick to delete it
- 35:11Speaker 2: if it doesn't work. Jesse probably does a better job
- 35:15Speaker 2: in the hustle. I think the others they're funny, but
- 35:19Speaker 2: they don't have to do as much work because they're
- 35:22Speaker 2: on this big platform, so then they get access to
- 35:24Speaker 2: the followers. But I feel like Jesse probably spends the
- 35:27Speaker 2: most time thinking about what works, what doesn't, when to post,
- 35:31Speaker 2: who to collaborate with, like that kind of stuff.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I get you. I want to talk about some
- 35:37Speaker 1: of these things. So yesterday, obviously the DV video comes
- 35:42Speaker 1: out of her throwing chairs and her child screaming. And
- 35:45Speaker 1: whether do you think that Dakota released it or do
- 35:47Speaker 1: you think that TMZ got it leaked from law enforcement? Well,
- 35:52Speaker 1: this is all I think you can.
- 35:53Speaker 2: You can access that, so I would say it's probably
- 35:57Speaker 2: more TMZ because I think I don't know. I mean,
- 36:02Speaker 2: I don't know the answer to this, but I think
- 36:06Speaker 2: people as the series was, like, you know, building up
- 36:10Speaker 2: to it, people were kind of like, wait, the rest
- 36:13Speaker 2: of the world who doesn't watch Secret Lives and Mormon
- 36:16Speaker 2: Wives is like, oh wait, come wait, let me follow
- 36:20Speaker 2: the story.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Who was the lead?
- 36:21Speaker 2: And then I think with more interest, you have more
- 36:23Speaker 2: people kind of picking away at it. I'm sure there
- 36:26Speaker 2: is a possibility that exists that someone's in Dakota's ear too,
- 36:30Speaker 2: saying okay, now this is the time to rip the cord.
- 36:34Speaker 1: You know what was it could be many just to
- 36:39Speaker 1: fuck just it was her. What do you think that
- 36:41Speaker 1: I think if the CODA released it, his goal was
- 36:42Speaker 1: to take away the bachelorette from her. I think, yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 1: to to detonate her life. But again, she's like, why
- 36:50Speaker 1: would you They both are mutual detonators.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and it will never end. I agree, by the way,
- 36:59Speaker 2: as you point it out, which I will not, you know,
- 37:03Speaker 2: scream from the mountaintops. The guy that she ended up choosing,
- 37:06Speaker 2: and we know that because of my friend reality Steve,
- 37:08Speaker 2: he looks just like Dakota. Yeah, so imagine you're that guy.
- 37:11Speaker 2: You're like, Okay, I'm gonna just like go through this
- 37:14Speaker 2: process because I want to be famous. I want to
- 37:15Speaker 2: like or like build my career. And you're now looking
- 37:20Speaker 2: at this footage and you're also seeing that she slept
- 37:25Speaker 2: with him the day before she left for the show
- 37:28Speaker 2: and then called him one hundred and fifty times the
- 37:31Speaker 2: day she returned, and I also look exactly like him.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I mean it'd be very Yeah. I mean it's like
- 37:41Speaker 2: think of our think of art. Like just I'm speaking
- 37:43Speaker 2: to the to the women watching this right now. You're
- 37:47Speaker 2: in this like weird relationship with a guy. It's a
- 37:50Speaker 2: lot of mental games. It's exhausting. You're typically somebody who
- 37:53Speaker 2: makes like good decisions when it comes to picking a guy.
- 37:56Speaker 2: But then, like we all do, you get in a
- 38:00Speaker 2: relationship with somebody at some point and you're like, I'm
- 38:02Speaker 2: not the version of myself that I enjoy because I'm
- 38:05Speaker 2: so in my head because this person's like gas lighting
- 38:08Speaker 2: the shit out of me. And then you see a
- 38:11Speaker 2: picture of their immediate X and you realize I look
- 38:14Speaker 2: exactly like him. He's trying to redo the relationship through
- 38:19Speaker 2: me and I have been used as a utility.
- 38:22Speaker 1: He has been used. But I want to know. Okay,
- 38:24Speaker 1: this is what I want to know. Last Wednesday, the
- 38:28Speaker 1: final episode aired, So last Wednesday, this guy realized that
- 38:33Speaker 1: she fucked him Dakota before she got on the plane,
- 38:36Speaker 1: before she got on the plane, and obviously everything else
- 38:39Speaker 1: that happened that entire Then they go through the whole process,
- 38:42Speaker 1: and then she returns from the show and Dakota releases
- 38:45Speaker 1: the receipts, well, no, I want to say this. Let
- 38:48Speaker 1: me go, let me go, let me let me go
- 38:50Speaker 1: into this that happens Wednesday right now, A couple of
- 38:54Speaker 1: things happen in the world. She releases this TikTok, which
- 38:58Speaker 1: I'm just going to show you. Oh, I realized her
- 39:02Speaker 1: dancing in her Let me just say it, because it
- 39:04Speaker 1: again we go back to can we just go back
- 39:06Speaker 1: to this for a second?
- 39:07Speaker 2: These videos are so stupid.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Yes, she's dancing in her kitchen and she's like, guess
- 39:13Speaker 1: what I'm gonna I'm going to tease someone. And the
- 39:15Speaker 1: person that in what happens is later on a man's
- 39:18Speaker 1: torso comes in, a very tall man and she doesn't
- 39:21Speaker 1: show the face. Now detectives off camera literally put her
- 39:24Speaker 1: head where Dakota's fuss and shoulders are and her head
- 39:27Speaker 1: where this man's is, and they're like, this is not Dakota.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And so they were all like this is And then
- 39:32Speaker 1: they also had found the winner. This is that man
- 39:34Speaker 1: she puts up this it's in her home. He's there
- 39:37Speaker 1: now listen.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Don't want to push her off a cliff at that point,
- 39:41Speaker 2: Yes they do, But.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Can I just ask Kate, this makes me feel like
- 39:46Speaker 1: the Bachelorette.
- 39:47Speaker 2: I feel like that was planned, you know, Okay, I
- 39:53Speaker 2: think I don't tell you why you they need to?
- 39:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:58Speaker 2: This is why they like to pick people pluck from obscurity,
- 40:01Speaker 2: because they can mold them and have them media trained
- 40:04Speaker 2: and tell them like this is the way it goes.
- 40:08Speaker 2: When you choose a social media influencer, who by the way,
- 40:10Speaker 2: has six point one followers, gets more viewership on our
- 40:15Speaker 2: social media channel than many of the shows that they air.
- 40:18Speaker 2: They will never listen to your advice. They're like, I've
- 40:21Speaker 2: been running my own social media channel. I know media
- 40:24Speaker 2: better than you do. You're a thirty two year old
- 40:26Speaker 2: woman with like two kids, and you're telling me how
- 40:30Speaker 2: to get more likes and comments and attention on this
- 40:33Speaker 2: show when I've been running circles around you. She doesn't
- 40:36Speaker 2: listen to a goddamn thing that those publicists say. Every
- 40:40Speaker 2: video that she does she does on her own.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, I can totally see that. It's just this
- 40:49Speaker 1: video goes up. And then before the DV thing happens,
- 40:52Speaker 1: people have been saying that Tate, her ex, and Dakota
- 40:56Speaker 1: went together to a courthouse this is allegedly and file
- 41:01Speaker 1: dual restraining orders. Now only Dakota's, I think is for
- 41:05Speaker 1: some reason. When I try to look it up, I
- 41:07Speaker 1: and I think the only Dakota's is like super findable.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I don't know if that means something else, But Tait
- 41:12Speaker 1: himself has been very silent the entire time.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Which, by the way, now there's this video of your
- 41:20Speaker 2: child crying with I mean, it's some empathy for him
- 41:25Speaker 2: as well.
- 41:25Speaker 1: He want to protect his child. Yeah, this is awful,
- 41:31Speaker 1: It's really bad. So let's just talk about this. So,
- 41:34Speaker 1: after all of the they pulled Bauchorette, she puts a
- 41:37Speaker 1: statement up. Okay, I want you to talk about her statement. Okay,
- 41:41Speaker 1: this is what the statement is.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Taylor is very this is there's no way an ABC
- 41:45Speaker 2: publicists put that together.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I'm just there's no way. Taylor is very grateful. Well
- 41:50Speaker 1: I can read you ABC's thing. Taylor is very grateful
- 41:53Speaker 1: for AB's Okay, Letybe, I'm so sorry. I'm so all
- 41:55Speaker 1: over the place. Let me go back. And actually I.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Think she used her TikTok money to buy a publicist
- 41:59Speaker 2: and the or get a publicist. And the publicist is
- 42:02Speaker 2: not somebody who really is really good in crisis media situations.
- 42:07Speaker 1: This is just a basic publicist. The ABC documentar. Sorry,
- 42:10Speaker 1: the ABC statement basically said, we are pulling the Baucherrette
- 42:14Speaker 1: and you know, we want the family to heal, something
- 42:17Speaker 1: like just the family. Okay, so yeah, right, no blame
- 42:21Speaker 1: either way, the family being whoever. The family is the
- 42:24Speaker 1: family of the entire mom talk the family of just
- 42:26Speaker 1: you know, Taylor, freaky Paul Dakota's family Tate's family. It's Leanne,
- 42:31Speaker 1: whoever Taylor's This is Taylor's statement. Taylor is very grateful
- 42:34Speaker 1: for ABC's support as she prioritizes her family's safety and security.
- 42:39Speaker 1: After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse,
- 42:44Speaker 1: as well as threats of retaliation to Taylor is finally
- 42:48Speaker 1: gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps
- 42:51Speaker 1: to ensure that she and her children are protected from
- 42:53Speaker 1: any further harm. There are too many women who are
- 42:56Speaker 1: suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous expert partners
- 43:00Speaker 1: who refuse to let them move on with their lives.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation,
- 43:07Speaker 1: and public shaming. She's currently exploring all her options, seeking support,
- 43:11Speaker 1: and preparing to own and share her story.
- 43:14Speaker 2: See she's still in the mold of like, Okay, now
- 43:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna get my own show, Like I don't even
- 43:20Speaker 2: need secret lives. I now I am like such a
- 43:23Speaker 2: big star. I could make this into a documentary of
- 43:26Speaker 2: my own show. She's disconnected from reality and she is
- 43:30Speaker 2: paying somebody who allows her to remain disconnected from reality. Yeah,
- 43:35Speaker 2: there's no way ABC was involved in that.
- 43:37Speaker 1: No way No. I yeah, it's too. It's really it's hard.
- 43:42Speaker 1: It's a hard thing to read because I do think
- 43:45Speaker 1: that a toxic environment has more than one, you know,
- 43:49Speaker 1: energy making a toxic it's her child screaming. It's her
- 43:54Speaker 1: child screaming on the video. And she doesn't run to
- 43:57Speaker 1: take care of her child. She just hearing child and
- 44:02Speaker 1: then continue fall to Dakota. Yeah. But and what.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Mother, I'm telling you this, I know what mother does
- 44:10Speaker 2: not run to her child to comfort them.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I this is gonna be very I'm gonna say something
- 44:19Speaker 1: that's kind of personal. It's fine. So you know, my parents, uh,
- 44:23Speaker 1: my parents divorced, and when they were divorcing, they were
- 44:25Speaker 1: like having like a lot of fights or whatever, you know.
- 44:27Speaker 1: And I'm like four or five and six at the time,
- 44:29Speaker 1: and I used to have this this uh trick. And
- 44:33Speaker 1: the trick was lots of nights I'd hear them fighting,
- 44:37Speaker 1: right just be in my bed hearing them screaming and
- 44:39Speaker 1: fighting and all that stuff. And I realized that if
- 44:43Speaker 1: I did get up and if I did run in
- 44:45Speaker 1: and start screaming, I'd break it up because they would
- 44:49Speaker 1: have to then tend to me, you know, like and
- 44:51Speaker 1: they usually would now I remember, and this is still
- 44:53Speaker 1: fucked up, and it wasn't a great idea, but I
- 44:55Speaker 1: would remember. Then they would use me, Oh you've made
- 44:57Speaker 1: her cry, you know, like I remember this a lot,
- 45:00Speaker 1: you know. But at the same time, they would stop fighting. Yeah,
- 45:04Speaker 1: And so the child has heard a lot of fighting
- 45:13Speaker 1: over the years. Isn't this child's first radio. This isn't
- 45:15Speaker 1: even this child's dad, right, this is not ever This
- 45:20Speaker 1: is the child that she had with Tait. And so
- 45:23Speaker 1: for Taylor to be in a psychotic mental state, I
- 45:27Speaker 1: mean psych obviously manic enough to be completely blinded that
- 45:34Speaker 1: she is allowing some asshole to be in her home
- 45:37Speaker 1: who could just easily not be there, that she's hitting
- 45:40Speaker 1: in front of her child who's screaming, and not wake
- 45:43Speaker 1: that up for her and be like get the fuck out,
- 45:44Speaker 1: and then be like, what am I doing? I'm doing
- 45:47Speaker 1: in front of my child who's learning. This is in
- 45:49Speaker 1: itself evidence of someone he is not a great mom.
- 45:58Speaker 1: And for that statement to not any accountability, Even if
- 46:02Speaker 1: you are a victim, you have to understand that there
- 46:06Speaker 1: are victims of victims. Like you can think of yourself
- 46:09Speaker 1: as a victim, but you're really you are terrorizing an
- 46:15Speaker 1: actual victim. So I don't know, like this is a
- 46:18Speaker 1: triggering thing for me, you know, like I think that
- 46:21Speaker 1: it is. I think that a lot of like moms
- 46:24Speaker 1: want to play, like a lot of mothers who are
- 46:27Speaker 1: toxic want to put themselves in a victim place without
- 46:31Speaker 1: actually realizing that they have raised fucking victims of their
- 46:36Speaker 1: own shitty behavior. And that's what's happening here. And I
- 46:39Speaker 1: think that I don't know if Taylor there's of course
- 46:44Speaker 1: like diehard Tailor fans, but I know that there are
- 46:46Speaker 1: women like me who know who knows like that feeling,
- 46:52Speaker 1: who's going to recognize that feeling and be like, I
- 46:55Speaker 1: can't deal with you. You aren't it you have well
- 46:58Speaker 1: in what you said is true. The she's she has
- 47:02Speaker 1: mental issues and I truly believe, and this is allegedly
- 47:05Speaker 1: that Dakota brought in. Also a drug element. Like Taylor,
- 47:09Speaker 1: Frankie Paul herself is obviously on stimulants, and I'm gonna
- 47:14Speaker 1: say that as someone who takes twenty milligrams of Vivanta day,
- 47:18Speaker 1: Taylor Frankie Paul's jaw throughout the entire series is a
- 47:22Speaker 1: fucking character in itself.
- 47:24Speaker 2: She is I'm the last person woo, and.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I'm the first person I know, and I know jaw
- 47:30Speaker 1: movement like nobody's fucking business. Her jaw is on fucking
- 47:33Speaker 1: fire throughout the hotire. Not true, it is no, No.
- 47:38Speaker 2: I hope that she's not, you know, taking.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I think that she has been on I think that
- 47:43Speaker 1: she abuses drugs oyand or at least met she does
- 47:46Speaker 1: uppers in such a way, or some other illegal situation.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I think that Dakota maybe have helped her. I think
- 47:51Speaker 1: they're in some sort of toxic drug situation. I think
- 47:54Speaker 1: a lot of the videos we're seeing, and especially though
- 47:56Speaker 1: like a war arrest once when she's out of her mind,
- 47:58Speaker 1: it's also because she's fucked up up on drugs.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Do you think so?
- 48:02Speaker 1: I do think so I do, and so across the board.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Even more reason that they need to go off any
- 48:09Speaker 2: social media media in general and have like some deep
- 48:13Speaker 2: therapy and some deep help with their health. If that
- 48:17Speaker 2: were to be true, It's interesting A lot of reports
- 48:21Speaker 2: are saying that, like did you read these reports that
- 48:23Speaker 2: like ABC executives, Hulu executives got calls from the cast
- 48:27Speaker 2: being like, we don't want to film. We saw the
- 48:29Speaker 2: videos there's domestic violent stuff, and then they kind of
- 48:34Speaker 2: many of them may have been victims of their own,
- 48:37Speaker 2: you know, as children or in some.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Part of their life. Connor and Michaela talk about it.
- 48:43Speaker 2: And you're subjecting them to an environment where they have
- 48:46Speaker 2: to work with someone who displays that that's really asking.
- 48:52Speaker 1: It's just appalling. Yeah, they had to ask for help
- 48:56Speaker 1: and protection, and they the stars knew that, like the
- 48:59Speaker 1: execus that did not want to do it. And so
- 49:01Speaker 1: there's part of me that's like, so the executives come
- 49:04Speaker 1: to film, they shut down production last week when they
- 49:09Speaker 1: started to hear all of these DV things. Then the
- 49:13Speaker 1: video comes out. Then she goes on Good Morning America
- 49:17Speaker 1: and she says, this is Taylor Freaky Paul. This was yesterday,
- 49:20Speaker 1: and she says, you know, it's a hard time. She
- 49:23Speaker 1: keeps saying it's a hard time. Right now, it's like
- 49:25Speaker 1: very obvious that was the verbiage. She was given hard
- 49:28Speaker 1: time and just focusing on my family. Later on, she
- 49:32Speaker 1: was supposed to be on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel.
- 49:34Speaker 1: She's not on it. She's canceled. They don't even bring
- 49:37Speaker 1: it up, that don't even talk about it. It just
- 49:39Speaker 1: doesn't happen. And of course we go into what we know,
- 49:44Speaker 1: which is ABC cancels the bacherette. She puts out a statement.
- 49:47Speaker 1: ABC puts out a statement. Other people put out statements,
- 49:50Speaker 1: like you said, who is the guy that ended up winning?
- 49:53Speaker 1: Doug mainson, Man, I'm sorry, Doug Mason, and his statement says,
- 49:57Speaker 1: in light of everything that's happened, I'm just sending out
- 49:59Speaker 1: prayers to Taylor because that was her moment, and her
- 50:01Speaker 1: moment was blocked. All we can do right You.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Remember he was in a relationship with her, so he
- 50:08Speaker 2: has heard the narrative that she likes to put out.
- 50:11Speaker 2: As we evidence of that statement, like she's the victim,
- 50:14Speaker 2: and you know she's the victim.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Nothing about her kids, nothing about the family, nothing about
- 50:20Speaker 1: like even her getting help. Nothing like all we can
- 50:25Speaker 1: do right now is be hopeful. Let's stay positive and
- 50:28Speaker 1: show nothing but support for people in need. And also
- 50:33Speaker 1: it's okay to say I am still processing all that
- 50:38Speaker 1: is unfolding, and I I'll feel more, I'll feel you know,
- 50:44Speaker 1: I'd like to comment about this in time, like you
- 50:46Speaker 1: don't you can say in a statement that you're not
- 50:49Speaker 1: ready to say a statement. Yeah, Also, doesn't he kind
- 50:54Speaker 1: of look like yes, Dakota, but also like a young
- 50:56Speaker 1: who Hugh Jackman a little bit on the bottom part. Yeah,
- 51:01Speaker 1: he just she found a cuter version of Dakota. This
- 51:04Speaker 1: is like, you know, like I said, you get a
- 51:07Speaker 1: duplicate version of someone because you're trying to relitigate or
- 51:13Speaker 1: reimagine a relationship with someone that you are in a
- 51:18Speaker 1: toxic relationship with. Yeah, did you see demise statement? I did?
- 51:26Speaker 1: Do you have it?
- 51:26Speaker 2: You pulled up?
- 51:28Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, this is her, it's a post, it's not
- 51:33Speaker 1: her post. And then I'll read you what she says. So,
- 51:35Speaker 1: the bills are paid, my husband is hot.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Yeah, disconnect.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Yeah, our marriage is strong, the kids are happy and healthy.
- 51:44Speaker 1: I feel so damn rich. And then underneath that, this
- 51:47Speaker 1: is what she actually wrote, my version of peace that
- 51:50Speaker 1: no one could ever destroy, no matter how hard some
- 51:54Speaker 1: have tried. The best revenge truly is living. Well, I'll
- 51:58Speaker 1: die on that hill forever.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Yeah, she's still thinking about last season where they're trying
- 52:05Speaker 2: to like get it, you know, move her off the
- 52:07Speaker 2: show or whatever, like she's still there. They're all so,
- 52:11Speaker 2: but then it's like, of course, all of these people
- 52:14Speaker 2: are all in their heads. This is there are reality
- 52:16Speaker 2: stars who never became adults. It's like a listen. Being
- 52:22Speaker 2: a social media influencer is a very lonely life and
- 52:26Speaker 2: you have to learn to live on your own like lifeboat,
- 52:31Speaker 2: and that's how they operate. Like she she's not thinking
- 52:36Speaker 2: about the children that are affected by this, or the
- 52:40Speaker 2: other people in the cast who may have had similar
- 52:43Speaker 2: life experiences. She's just trying to litigate what happened last season,
- 52:47Speaker 2: just like all these housewives. They like they're still mad
- 52:50Speaker 2: about what happened, and they can't see the forest through
- 52:52Speaker 2: the trees, and that other people have lives and are
- 52:54Speaker 2: affected by different circumstances and certainly ones that are done
- 52:58Speaker 2: by them.
- 52:59Speaker 1: That's like, of course, this is like how they all are.
- 53:03Speaker 1: It's the same thing. I guess we were saying with Taylor,
- 53:05Speaker 1: like Demi puts that up, and I'm sure there are
- 53:08Speaker 1: Demi heads being like, yeah, girl, we always knew you're
- 53:11Speaker 1: gonna come out on top, you know, like you know
- 53:12Speaker 1: that she's probably getting like flat for that. And then again,
- 53:16Speaker 1: at the same time, all these bitches lost. None of
- 53:18Speaker 1: them won, honey. The only person that won is Whitney,
- 53:21Speaker 1: And it's funny because yeah, like yeah, I mean, Whitney
- 53:24Speaker 1: really won.
- 53:25Speaker 2: And I felt like even the first season, she just
- 53:28Speaker 2: like kind of separated herself, like she was always kind
- 53:32Speaker 2: of like keeping her space. She had the eye on
- 53:34Speaker 2: the prize. She's like this, and you know what, I
- 53:37Speaker 2: think this is an emblematic of a lot of people
- 53:39Speaker 2: in life. It's like, you gotta have a survivor chip.
- 53:43Speaker 2: The survivor chip is the one that propels you out
- 53:46Speaker 2: of the circumstances that you were born into and you
- 53:49Speaker 2: see a life outside of it and a route to success.
- 53:56Speaker 2: And I think she did that better than all of them.
- 53:58Speaker 1: You're so right. I think you also have to have
- 54:01Speaker 1: like a fortitude and you don't fear failure. You don't
- 54:06Speaker 1: get drawed down with like failures. You're just like on
- 54:10Speaker 1: in the next you have. I think a survivorship also
- 54:13Speaker 1: means like, yeah, not letting yourself get dragged down. You
- 54:17Speaker 1: just keep going like you're just like it's like a
- 54:20Speaker 1: all right, well that didn't work, all right, let's move on. Okay.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Nothing is like if things are things happened, if you
- 54:27Speaker 1: have a fault in it, fine, you might learn from it,
- 54:30Speaker 1: but might not. But it's not like incredibly uh, you know,
- 54:35Speaker 1: detrimental to your whole mental health. It's something that I
- 54:38Speaker 1: have had to learn.
- 54:39Speaker 2: By the way, good for her from moving her family
- 54:41Speaker 2: out of there and move into New York.
- 54:44Speaker 1: You know, it's so funny. Yes, absolutely. Season four happens
- 54:46Speaker 1: and Whitney and Jen go on Dancing with the Stars.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Just so small side note, Whitney gets like a beautiful,
- 54:53Speaker 1: like soul filled Spanish style home. Jen and Zach move
- 54:58Speaker 1: into a fucking black McMansion somewhere in West Hollywood, you know,
- 55:03Speaker 1: soulist McMansion. I mean, yeah, I mean I have no
- 55:08Speaker 1: other no. By the way, you know, the Mikayla is
- 55:10Speaker 1: at the beach. By the way, is hold on Orange County? Maybe? Yeah,
- 55:15Speaker 1: I'm like yeah, I'm like I kept looking at that
- 55:19Speaker 1: beach being like is that big Corona maybe?
- 55:22Speaker 2: By the way, Whitney's husband must be like really in
- 55:26Speaker 2: a student person behind the scenes, like he is, he's
- 55:31Speaker 2: all on board. Like they're they're both like focused on
- 55:36Speaker 2: the scene. Yes, they're like Siamese twins.
- 55:39Speaker 1: I mean they're like so locked in for each other
- 55:44Speaker 1: that it's like it really is like an interesting partnership.
- 55:47Speaker 1: And I would say that, like you know, it's like
- 55:50Speaker 1: I wouldn't say they have like the hottest sexual vibe, you.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Know, like, but that's not important in either of them.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I don't think it is. And looking at they have
- 55:59Speaker 2: a shared passion for something else. I know by the way,
- 56:05Speaker 2: I'd be like to the other ones, like you knocked it,
- 56:09Speaker 2: you knocked to the relationship. But they seem like like
- 56:12Speaker 2: pretty tight team.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Yeah, because the thing about Demi and her dumb husband
- 56:16Speaker 1: is that like all she can get from him is
- 56:18Speaker 1: he's thirsty to drink her peepee and like this whole
- 56:20Speaker 1: scene the only thing we have. Sorry about that, but
- 56:22Speaker 1: it's true. You know, they go to a recording studio
- 56:26Speaker 1: to lay down a track. He cannot sing at all.
- 56:32Speaker 1: It's just her being like, hey, babe, can you pick
- 56:34Speaker 1: a note and stay with it? She seems miserable. So
- 56:37Speaker 1: it's so funny, like and then this song, I'm like,
- 56:40Speaker 1: were they gonna come out with this song? Would Melissa
- 56:42Speaker 1: Gorga is this you're on display? Like it really that happened,
- 56:45Speaker 1: And it's like, but you can't sing either. The funny
- 56:48Speaker 1: thing is Miranda actually can sing. It's she has videos
- 56:51Speaker 1: of herself singing. It's just a Miranda. It's funny Maranda
- 56:54Speaker 1: doesn't want to Marinda doesn't seem to want to be famous.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Miranda, Yeah, I agree with that.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Miranda was like, I will be here and I'll get
- 57:02Speaker 1: the money.
- 57:02Speaker 2: But like I'm saying, but even with social media, a
- 57:04Speaker 2: lot of them are like I'll show up on social media,
- 57:06Speaker 2: but they're not really staying up late thinking about all
- 57:11Speaker 2: the algorithm.
- 57:12Speaker 1: No, Miranda just wants to move through her life, like
- 57:14Speaker 1: look cute on camera and like.
- 57:19Speaker 2: She's on the easy Easy listening channel, she's on the
- 57:22Speaker 2: yacht rock channel to.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Three point five. I know she must have been so
- 57:28Speaker 1: upset when like that Shanaia girl had gotten with Dakota
- 57:32Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 57:32Speaker 2: I mean, She's like, I've known Shanaia for a long time.
- 57:36Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm so astounded when people have the names
- 57:39Speaker 2: of like artists, but like you know, like Shanaya, there's
- 57:43Speaker 2: somebody their child Shanaia, Like.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Well, when the baby came out and it was a woman,
- 57:48Speaker 1: she was like, I know what to name it because
- 57:49Speaker 1: I know what it feels like.
- 57:51Speaker 2: A woman.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, my daughter.
- 57:54Speaker 2: The faith that are named after like Riba Hat McCray.
- 58:00Speaker 2: Right now, like there are people that are having babies
- 58:03Speaker 2: right now in the name Tate.
- 58:05Speaker 1: This is Addison. Have you been yeah, Laura A right, Yeah,
- 58:08Speaker 1: I love Laura Zars like Laura.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Benson Benson Boone. Their babies being born right now, they're
- 58:15Speaker 2: being named after him.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Zara Larson, I bucked up. Her name is my Zara
- 58:19Speaker 1: Larson's pop star right now. Yeah, I like my kids
- 58:23Speaker 1: love her too. Okay, So I'd rather listen to a
- 58:27Speaker 1: podcast than listen to the singing, because this is a
- 58:29Speaker 1: song sound the same after a while, you know, I
- 58:32Speaker 1: like it out. I can't listen to music all the time.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Then it's like every cold place song sounds the same.
- 58:39Speaker 1: I'll tell you this. It's hard for me to listen
- 58:40Speaker 1: to podcasts in certain situations because I want because I
- 58:44Speaker 1: it's mentally too simulating and I'm like gonna get exhausted
- 58:47Speaker 1: thinking about all the things that are making me think about. Okay,
- 58:51Speaker 1: well that's not the ship.
- 58:52Speaker 2: My show is not for you then, because I feel
- 58:54Speaker 2: like I give people lots of homework.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Here's the thing. Your show is for me, because okay,
- 59:00Speaker 1: let's talk about the homework and everything, because I do
- 59:01Speaker 1: want to talk about it. Your show is about finding
- 59:04Speaker 1: the best things to watch on TV and then watching
- 59:07Speaker 1: them and then dissecting them. And the great thing about
- 59:09Speaker 1: you and your substack and your entire I guess infrastructure
- 59:14Speaker 1: is that you do get to lead people into quality
- 59:19Speaker 1: program choice.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, yes I know.
- 59:22Speaker 1: And then so yeah, let's talk about your steps. So
- 59:25Speaker 1: on your substack, you release a what to watch for
- 59:28Speaker 1: the week for the week.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I usually put it out on Sunday, and then
- 59:31Speaker 2: it gives people to kind of like plan out their week, like, Okay, Monday,
- 59:34Speaker 2: I'm going to watch this. Wednesday, there's this other thing,
- 59:37Speaker 2: and then they can text all their friends and go, Okay,
- 59:39Speaker 2: here's our thing. Because if you make plans with the
- 59:42Speaker 2: people in your life, you have things to talk about
- 59:44Speaker 2: at the dinner party or at work or when you
- 59:46Speaker 2: go on a walk. I want to give you plenty
- 59:48Speaker 2: of stuff to text your peeps about. So I just
- 59:51Speaker 2: hate the idea of somebody. And this happens all the
- 59:53Speaker 2: time where people will write me and say, I just
- 59:55Speaker 2: can't do another night where it's ten o'clock at night
- 59:58Speaker 2: and I spend an hour scrolling to find something to watch.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I just want to alleviate that pressure. You've got long
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: work days and you just want to come back and
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: have a plan of like, Okay, this is how I'm
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: going to enjoy, and I give you options so I
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: know that. You know, Love Overboard on Hulu may not
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: be for everybody, but Homicide New York on Netflix maybe
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: for the people who like to veg out by watching
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: some deep, messed up true crime thing or maybe a
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: sports documentary. You know, Yeah, I watched the Cory one yesterday. Wait,
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: which one was that? The Cory the Grief? She wrote
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: a grief children's book that she killed her Oh that
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: true crime case. Oh I thought you were talking about
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: a specific show. Oh yeah, that's a messed up one. Yeah,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: that's a that's a doozy.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I watched it all. It was like, yeah, and then
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: you did you watch I'm sure you did. It's old news.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Now did you like the Manisphere documentary?
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: It's so depressing.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: That one's depressing.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: You know what.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna have to give you like two funny ones.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Thank god, I know Jury Duty.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: My friends are my friend's a wo wo oh god,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I am my friend. I haven't watched it. Get but
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Ryan Perez is on it. I can show you him.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: But tell me what like, show me what he looks like.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I will right now.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's so funny. They're doing such a
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: great job because everybody's been on some stupid retreat at work.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Yeah, like I.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Am, so show me, show me your friend. And then
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: the second one is Born to Bowl on HBO. It's
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: five episodes. Oh yeah, oh, here's well.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: It's so funny because it's like yeah, it's like it's
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: like cutting out his name.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: Tell him, tell him, I tell him. I think he's great.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: And Born to Bowl as five episodes, and they followed
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: for a season Professional Bowlers five of them and is
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: executive produced by Ben Stiller. At first, you're like, this
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: has to be a mockumentary because these people don't really
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: exist in the world. They sure do. And then you're
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: like falling in love with them as the season and
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: you're like pull. And then by the end of the
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: season you're.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Like, oh my god, are they gonna win or not?
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: And then you think, why don't I bowl more?
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: And you have more appreciation for the sport of bowling
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: because people are like, yeah, it's not that hard of ball.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: What you don't realize is that the oil tracks that
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: the bowling ball goes down. It's it's a different situation
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: each time. Some make it real fast, some make it slow.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: And you have to be so good at adjusting your
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: game for how fast that ball is going to move
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: down that track and then how it's gonna affect your game.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Okay, so many questions you So, I thought you were
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: saying the oil of the track when the ball comes
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: back to you. But do you mean like just the
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: you know, the way the ball moves down the wooden.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Well, it's gonna it's gonna oil up your ball, right
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: because when it goes down, and then you have to
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: adjust how hard you throw, the way in which you
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: throw in accordance to how how that ball is affected
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: by the oil tracks.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: That's bring this up.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: It's almost like golf. It's like golf, golf.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I love golf.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: You go to a different golf course, it's not the
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: same game. Like you have to adjust because of the hills. Like,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: there's so many factors. Where do you Where do you
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: bowl in Orange County? Oh? The bowling place over by
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: University Temple. It's like you know Boomers, it's by there,
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: it's right next to Boomers. Yeah.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: In La there's a Lucky Strike and all the kids
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: are going back to Lucky Strikes.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: It's a big thing. It's going to by the way,
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: it's going to be big time after this series. When
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: I was talking to the producers, I said, this is
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: gonna be like one hundred Foot Wave, where everybody then
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: became obsessed with big wave surfing, and then they got
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: like Mercedes Benz to like the first season of one
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: hundred Foot Wave, it would be like some guy with like,
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: you know, like a banana stand, and then Mercedes Benz
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: is sponsoring. I think you're going to see bowling become
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: a whole big thing this year because of that series.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: I mean, because right now it's Majong.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: I can't deal with that. I can't deal with that.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: So although there was a true crime case about like
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: a couple or like a friends that like lost their
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: shit after Amasen game, I have to look into that
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: that that way, I would be into that. But the
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: act of sitting with tiles, I mean no.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: No, no, I mean I think I did some on
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: internet versions and even that was boring. But yeah, but
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: you know, one of my kids really is into the
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: online thing because they're her grandmother showed her how to
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: do it because I think that tell me if you
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: have to ask your child is it Because the music
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: is so loving, loving and calming. It's very like it's.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Mad and it's just like shifting that it's almost like.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: They make most noises the tiles. It's a lovely noise.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: It's like, I think.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: It's less it's less uh, intellectually tedious as like solitaire,
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: because it's just the graphic. It's just like matching the tiles.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: It's like shift, it's like the sliding sound. I think
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: it's all very relaxing. Let me guess you wait. By
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: the way, much like a Bachelor about lorette contestant. That
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: audience is like grandma's and little.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Kids bringing it back. Honey, she brings it back. It's
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: a full circle. I want to say. Just talking about
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Orange County, do you feel like when you look at
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: theo Utah Mormon wives, do they remind you of Orange
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: County people? Yeah?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Absolutely. That's why I think a lot of the Mormons
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: move here. They're like, I'm you know, I'm amongst my people.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: Funny thing, lots of people think I'm Mormon. Well, can
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: I know why? Because you have a life, Because I
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: have a lot of kids, and I'm want yeah, and.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: You're like a really good mom. I mean, you're a
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: good mom, and you're like, you know, you're even you know,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: it's funny. You are incredibly intelligent and incredibly lovely and progressive,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: but you have, you know, like you have a traditional
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: sense to you a little bit too, you know, like
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: you hold down a lot, you know. So I think
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: that I'm definitely like a heart. Oh though I'm a
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: very Irish mom. It's heard.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Oh I'm like tough and mean and like, you know,
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: I thought it meant, but it like my oldest was
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: the Irish Okay, my oldest was making fun of me.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: She's like, yeah, coming to you like a boy problem
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: or like a friend problem. Your reactions always like, I
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: don't know, did you say anything to them? Well, don't
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: start like why are you talking to me about it?
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Go take care of this problem. Irish moms are like you,
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: you uh, you train so that they all help each other,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: so you don't have, you know, all of the work
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: on yourself. We're good at delegating responsibilities so that they
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: learned to be independent earlier and they can rely on
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: one another. I love that I'm not like I'm definitely
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: not a coddler. Yeah good, you know where it's like,
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: oh I didn't I like, I didn't make it, or
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: like my son, I'll be like, I don't know, how
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: do you think we did in the game. I'm like,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: you guys were terrible. And here's why. That's what I
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: was raised by. My mom would be like, if I
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: want an Olympic medal, my mom would go, just remember
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: there's someone better than you, not next year, which is good.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: It's good because then you could, like you work really hard.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: You never you know, like rest.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: On you a happy medium. I don't know, babe. I
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: think they're my probably medium where you're actually to make
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: my soul feel better.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: I know my game.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: How was our game? Well, let me let me be
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: honest with you. It wasn't your greatest game.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: I saw some no, that's defense problems that that you
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: did do a successful I know, but I'm just qualifying
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: it so people like I am not Mary Poppins with
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: the five kids. My husband is like very very effusive
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: and like the leaves and everybody and everybody should get
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: an award in some capacity, And I'm like, no, you
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: didn't know, you didn't you weren't good.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: I think, yeah, well that means you gotta have both.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: You gotta have both. You you do have both, your kids
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: have both. Let me Okay, so as we kind of
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: uh look ahead, tell me what your thoughts are are
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: with this situation, and then also what are you going
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: to watch next week or what are you looking forward
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: to in your own podcast next week? So future plans
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: for our topics here, Taylor, Frankie, Paul, Secret Lives there.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Do you think that they're going to be Do you
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: think that Bacherette will come back if they don't do
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: your idea?
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Do you think Secret Lives and Mormon Wives will come back? Okay,
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Bachelorette's not going to come back for a while. They
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: need to cleanse everyone's palate. They need to bachelor.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: Then won't have a bachelor contestant obviously, as you said, yeah,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: oh yeah. Does they use Doug?
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: No, no, no, they need to go into Baxlore right away.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: They can't use Doug. Doug looks like Dakota. We need
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: to let go, we need to like move on from that.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: We need to clean slate. And I think that Secret
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Lives and Mormon Wives you have to drop. Taylor, sorry,
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: she's got to go into heavy therapy and treatment. And
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: I think it won't be hard to find new Mormon
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: moms who would be fascinating to have on the show.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: So I don't think that's a problem.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: I always say Real Housewives should take the Manudo approach.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Remember Manudo, it was like once somebody was thirteen, you're out.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: Somebody knew is in And there were probably I don't
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: know sixty members of Menudo at some point because they
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: filter in and out, and they should have just adopt
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: that practice.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: So keep that secret lives and more in my minds on.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I like Real Housewives try to do that with New
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: York and then New York failed, and then the old
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: New York tried to make a show and then that failed.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Well, you got to start with a good product and
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: then you kind of have to let go want like
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: you to do it in batches, like you get rid
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: of one and then you move one in. And you know,
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: because what they do is they paint themselves into a
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: corners because they have got like they start with a
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: group and then they keep them on way too long
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: and then the audience is ripe for like new stories
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: and you can keep the show modern if it's the
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: same people for ten seasons, you've got to like, you know,
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: got somebody who just moved into town, and how does
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: that affect all the friendships and that person's got a
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: new perspective of life and does that make them rethink
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: their marriage? Because girl down the street just moved in
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: and she's like having a lot of sex with her husband,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: and so then they're like, what's wrong in our marriage?
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: And there are so many layers that can you know,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: be exposed when you bring in someone new every once
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: in a while and you let go of the dead weight,
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: the ones that are like overproducing themselves and they like
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: just want an easy paycheck and they do minimum work. Okay,
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: So what am I going to watch this week? Coming
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: up on the episodes this week, Ronni Karen from watcha
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Crappins is going to come on and we're going to
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: talk about all the Bravo shows, because there's like lots
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: of Bravo stuff, including the new Housewive on Real Housewives
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: of Beverly Hills that we want to unpack. I will
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: I think I'm going to interview somebody in the on
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: the producing end of Jury Duty, which is going to
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: be fun because I want to give people time to
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: watch it so they can It's not fun until people
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: watch it, so they can kind of like you know
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: what you're talking about, you can mass rate. And then
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: I've got I'm going to make Christa Rosa watch Love
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Overboard that comes out on the twenty sixth. I oh,
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: I interviewed, uh, somebody who has created a new platform
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: where people can submit ideas for producers so they can
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: make their own reality shows and documentary those. So I
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: have lots of good stuff.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: That's like something you should Yeah.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: Oh, I've got ideas, girl, I got ideas.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: It's so true, It's like, yeah, I mean there's so
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: many sings like obviously now also Jesse and Jordan have
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: broken up. They're they're divorcing Jason. Mikayla are you know,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: not together? Uh, obviously Layla is single. There is a
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: version where like these girls just go like and have
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: some like single girl fun, you know, and then like
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: fun yeah yeah yeah yeah. Secret lives of single girl
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Mormon wives mormon 'ess actually secret lives of Mormon singles, Secret.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Lives of Mormons singles. Yeah, I love you so much,
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: thank you, thank you, by the way, tell everybody they
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: need to go to katekcy dot substack dot com to
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: get that list of what to watch each week and
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: then you can read all the I wrote an article
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: recently about Taylor Frank and why this was inevitable. You
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: could read that too, but I want you to get

- 1:12:45Speaker 1: community to do so. And your Facebook group is active,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: af and fun. So I'm also gonna.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: Plug Reality Life with KKC facebook group. Yeah, that's just

- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you know, we get to see our own.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: Version of that real guy that you were friends with.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: And I was like, wow, that person is a lot baite.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: We saw Christina by the Coast. Oh yeah, that wasn't night.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: It is crazy to think that, Like, Utah's like full
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: of influencers and there's like so many shows happening. And
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: then also Orange County is like full of fucking reality show.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Oh seed sell.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: People's the same. Wait where was I? Oh we were
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: at a I was at a lacrosse game and like
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: one of the real housewives like ex husbands walk past
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: and my friend locked eyes and she's like, I hate that.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: We know who that person is.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I hate that. Shannon Beeters old as hell dad
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: flirts with me at the Newport Beachacht Club.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Oh, I see him all the time at R and D. Yeah,
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: he's very actives already. He goes the Yeah Coup. Yeah,
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: he's member the Preppy Chocolate right across from Babble Island.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Yeah he's I think he's almost a hundred drives a
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: dark I think Bentley Earls always one of them, does
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: he really? Oh?
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: Every anyway, I do have to say when I see
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: her with her dad, she's always very sweet with him
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: because he wears his hearing needs. But she's like has
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: to really yell at him. Yeah, and she's always like
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: telling them stories. And I'll see them together on a Sunday,
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: like eating dinner together. You know, heavyer Broad is groundings
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: and I keep waiting to see heavy to brow at
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: a groundings class and I haven't done it yet. Makes
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: she's so sad. I wonder if she's passed a rider's
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: lab so many things? Yeah, what level would she have
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: to start at the bottom? How what do they do
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: with celebrities at the Growndlans She's sort at the bottom.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: But you know, doesn't she isn't actor, She doesn't.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: I can't. Basic of groundlings is not fucking hard to
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: I mean, you know, by the way, you know I
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: went through Growndlans too. I think I you did tell
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: me this. We could talk to him right now.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: I was like, Oh, in a crush with my instructor,
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: do you want to tell me what it is? I
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: will tell you later, but I will tell you, Okay.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: I made such a fool of myself because I had
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: a friend with me, uh and we went to dinner
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: at a restaurant. It was Italian place, across the street
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: from the Growlings, and I'm sitting there telling her about
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: my massive crush on my teacher. I was like, he
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: is the hottest guy, and he's so funny.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: I'm going on and on.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: Then there's a tap tap tap on the window and
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: I look and the teacher is there and he waves
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: he's friends with the table right next to us, and
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: it's like one of those restaurants where you're like right
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: on top. They heard me go on and on and
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: on about this guy. I'm so embarrassed.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: My face melted off for you.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: I'm so sorry but to hit but I always say
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: that person who I will tell you who that is
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: in a minute. But I when I was done with
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: that series, he wrote me a lovely multi paragraph email
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: with insights and advice, et cetera. And then when I.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Told that teacher is this of yours? Was he your
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: writer's lab teacher?
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: What is this? No? No, no, not not writers no, no, no,
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: not writer's lab. No. But when I years later talked
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: to somebody else who was in that era, I told
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: them that story and they went, wait that person. I went, yes,
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: They went, he doesn't talk to anybody like he did
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: that for you. And I'm like kidding. They go like,
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: he's like a curmudgeon, Like what And then I thought,
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: could have been a love story?
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Could have been?
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: Could have been a love story, a very funny love story,
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: a love story. And he he makes movies and he's like, yeah,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: could have been.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: A love story. I love your story, but I love
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: your life.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: I know that guy, did I doubt?
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Yes, you are. You know, it's so funny all these
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: women women like they want to be you.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: I don't think so no you no, no, no, those
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: women want to be like the Bachelorette, like like they
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: want to be on TV and stuff.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: They want to be want to be You are working,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: you have an incredible business, You've built for yourself. You
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: have so many kids, you live in a beautiful home
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: in like a beautiful part of America. You know, I
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: mean you, I mean, I mean.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: That's why it's like you know, but but but again,
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: they want they want to be at the vanity fair parties.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: They do want that. And they also, I guess, want
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: you know whatever extensions. Yea, they want all. They want
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: twenty two inch extensions though.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: Too truly, they want six hundred people in the commons
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: saying I need to know what lip gloss you have.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: That's what they want.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Also, we're on your side. Good job with whatever you're doing,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: all your choices. That guy behind Yeah exactly.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, I love you.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: I love you. Thank you so much for doing this.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: You gave us all your socials. Yeah, just what was
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: your Instagram? And did you give me your actual Instagram?

- 1:18:07Speaker 1: and documentaries, I truly am the friend that you really
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: need in your life. Yeah, and again, the friend that's
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: going to give you from A to Z the prep
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: That's what I said. It's like she's going to prep
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: you on what you should watch, what she's watching. She's
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: already curated what's good, and then you watch it and
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: then the next week you can listen to her podcast
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: or go on the YouTube and actually like dissect it,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: and it's not so much again like play by play
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: of the entire thing, as it's more so like an
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: interesting investigative deep dive in the creation of that. So
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: it's why I also, yeah, like why, I mean, I
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: think it's a great little marriage of like listening to
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: something from me and you, because you would get completely
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: at the truth. Girl, by the truth, I mean perspective.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Having said that, I love you so much. I'm gonna

- 1:19:45Speaker 1: also we hope that she doesn't miss her mark, or
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: we hope that she doesn't block her moment, you know,
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: like something maybe like what Doug would say, I don't know,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: make it an inside joke, or just tell me how
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: hot I am? You do you at the end of
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: the day, Thank you so much. We're gonna do two
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: breaths and then we're going to let ourselves go present moment. Listen,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: if you have chronic chaotic drama in your life, if
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: you cannot feel how you are feeling, if you are
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: not in touch with reality, one great thing mindfulness, just
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: making sure you can be present, honey. So let's just
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: do it two breaths, because nothing is ever perfect, and
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: you're going to give yourself the process for the rest
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: of your life. Bet on the floor, use my voice
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: or your own breath, the sound of the room so
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: that you don't think about the past. You stop planning
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: for the future, but from one moment we are all
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: here right now.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: Okay, did you do it or did you start thinking
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: one more chance?
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Yay, I did it. You guys, thank you so much
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: for listening. Take care of yourselves and one another, stand
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: up for what you believe, and make art. I'll be
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: having a part two of Secret Lives and Mormon Wives
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: to talk more about this coming up.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: My
