- 0:00Service Now just signed a three-year deal with Open AI to
- 0:04embed GPT 5.2 directly into its enterprise workfield platform.
- 0:08Now this agreement brings Open AI technical advisors and
- 0:12ServiceNow engineers together to build custom AI solutions that
- 0:15enterprises can deploy without bespoke development.
- 0:19ServiceNow powers more than 80 billion workflows every year
- 0:23across different platforms, IT, customer service and operations.
- 0:28And this new partnership between these two gives those workflows
- 0:32direct access to frontier AI capabilities from ChatGPT and
- 0:36open AI, including real time speech to speech voice agents.
- 0:41So when you're on the phone and you're talking to an agent from
- 0:45a ServiceNow company, you're probably talking to a person.
- 0:48Nope, that's not right. You're actually talking to an AI
- 0:52now. That's what's going to be
- 0:52happening for service now. The company that controls the
- 0:56enterprise workflow layer now has the keys to one of the most
- 1:00advanced AI systems on this planet.
- 1:02And what does that mean for every other software company
- 1:04fighting for the same customers? Open AI is computer use model
- 1:10will also become part of the ServiceNow platform, allowing AI
- 1:13agents to perform IT tasks like restarting devices or accessing
- 1:18data locked in legacy mainframe systems.
- 1:22Today, we're going to cover the competitive dynamics driving
- 1:25this whole deal. It's $12 billion of acquisitions
- 1:30that ServiceNow did this year. And why this race to become the
- 1:33AI control tower for business just got a little bit spicy.
- 1:37And we're going to do that right If this very short break.
- 1:42ServiceNow is betting big on becoming the central hub where
- 1:45AI meets enterprise. The company has spent more than
- 1:48$12 billion on acquisitions in 2025, including Moveworks for
- 1:532.85 billion, cybersecurity startup Vasa for roughly a
- 1:58billion and Armas for 7.75 billion in its largest purchase
- 2:03ever. 7 acquisitions in a year makes a sharp departure from a
- 2:07company that built its reputation on organic growth and
- 2:11the mantra of one platform, 1 architecture, one data model.
- 2:16Now this Open AI partnership accelerates that strategy by
- 2:19adding frontier AI capabilities the company could not build
- 2:22internally on the same timeline. ServiceNow now processes more
- 2:26than 80 billion workflows annually across the Fortune 500,
- 2:30and the company wants every one of those workflows running on
- 2:33its AI infrastructure. Brad Lightcap, who's Open AI
- 2:37chief operating officer, told The Wall Street Journal that
- 2:40enterprises want open AI intelligence applied directly
- 2:43into ServiceNow workflows. Customers increasingly seek what
- 2:47Lightcap calls agentic and multimodal experiences that
- 2:51behave like AIT mates rather than just chat bots answering
- 2:55questions for you. And the deal includes a revenue
- 2:57commitment from Service Now to Open AI, though neither company
- 3:01disclosed the actual financial terms.
- 3:03Open AI has been pursuing similar enterprise software
- 3:06partnerships, including deals with Intuit and $100 million
- 3:10commitment from Databricks last September.
- 3:13This is Open AI strategy for turning research breakthroughs
- 3:16into recurring enterprise revenue.
- 3:19Find the platforms where businesses already run their
- 3:21operations and then embed frontier models directly into
- 3:25those systems. ServiceNow gives Open AI access
- 3:28to 85% of the Fortune 500 through this single integration.
- 3:34Now, the technical integration goes beyond just API access.
- 3:38That's pretty simple. ServiceNow plans to build speech
- 3:41to speech AI agents for customer service using Open AI Voice
- 3:45Focus models. These agents will listen,
- 3:48reason, and respond in natural language without converting
- 3:52speech to text first. A user could speak in their
- 3:56preferred language and receive an instant response from an AI
- 3:58agent that opens a case, triggers an approval, and
- 4:01orchestrates next steps without translation delays.
- 4:05That capability eliminates the latency and context loss that
- 4:08plague current automated customer service systems.
- 4:11Current voice automation typically converts speech to
- 4:13text process That text through an AI model, generates a text
- 4:18response, and then it converts it back to speech.
- 4:22Each conversation step introduces delays and loses
- 4:25nuances, and speech to speech processing cuts out the middle
- 4:29steps entirely and preserves the natural flow of the conversation
- 4:34and service. Now this is huge.
- 4:35They'll also integrate open a is computer use model to unlock
- 4:39what the company calls a new class of IT automation.
- 4:43IT professionals, watch out, A is actually coming for you.
- 4:47These agents can interact with systems by navigating interfaces
- 4:51the way a human would, turning unstructured documents into
- 4:55actionable data and automating interactions with legacy
- 4:58systems, including mainframes. The practical application here
- 5:02is quite significant. Many large enterprises still run
- 5:06critical operations on 30 year old hardware and that modern
- 5:12automation tools can't touch them.
- 5:14Right now they're they can't even do it.
- 5:17Banks, insurance companies, they all run on it and governments
- 5:20too. They depend on COBOL systems.
- 5:22The process trillions of dollars in transactions annually.
- 5:26An AI agent that can navigate those interfaces opens a massive
- 5:30surface area for automation that was previously locked away
- 5:34behind obsolete technology stack.
- 5:37Now, Servicenow's president Ahmed Zavery and chief operating
- 5:41officer framed this partnership around speed and scale.
- 5:45Companies shifting from AI experimentation to full
- 5:48development need multiple AI capabilities working together to
- 5:52deliver faster outcomes. ServiceNow already offers
- 5:55customers access to various AI models, but the open AI
- 5:57integration makes GPT 5.2 a preferred intelligence
- 6:02capability embedded natively in the platform.
- 6:05That preferential treatment Signal Service now is picking
- 6:07sides in the AI model wars rather than remaining model
- 6:11agnostic. I've been digging through all of
- 6:15the analytics of the show and noticed that around 37 of you,
- 6:21that's 37%, sorry, are following the channel.
- 6:24And for you, I'm forever grateful.
- 6:27I thank you so much for being part of this community.
- 6:30The other 63% of you haven't hit the follower subscribe button.
- 6:34I've been an independent journalist covering Elon Musk,
- 6:36SpaceX tech, AI for the last six years, and I'm going to continue
- 6:41for the next 10 years. And all I'm going to ask you for
- 6:45is one second of your time for 10 whole years of mine, just hit
- 6:48the follower subscribe button on whatever platform you're
- 6:51listening, you're watching on right now.
- 6:53I'm extremely grateful for that. You don't know how much it
- 6:55helps. It's can propel us up the charts
- 6:59and if that happens, we can make the show way better than it
- 7:02already is. We're working on it.
- 7:04As you can tell, I had some audio upgrades at the beginning
- 7:07of the year and we're not going back because of your support.
- 7:11So thank you so much for all that you do.
- 7:14Now let's get back into some of this.
- 7:16Salesforce agents open AI. It's all wild right now.
- 7:22It's the Wild West of AI now. There's competitive pressure
- 7:26right now, and it runs real deep.
- 7:29Salesforce launched Agentforce 2 Point O in December, with CEO
- 7:33Marc Benioff declaring that the AI revolution is already here.
- 7:36And Salesforce reported 119 percent agent growth in the
- 7:40first half of 2025 and expanded partnerships with Open AI,
- 7:44Anthropic, Google, and AWS to solidify its ecosystem approach.
- 7:49Work Day announced its Illuminate AI agents for HR,
- 7:52case management, performance reviews, and financial close
- 7:56processes. SAP has rolled out more than 40
- 8:00jewel agents embedded across its enterprise software suite and
- 8:04plans to have over 400 AI scenarios by the end of 2025.
- 8:08And Oracle claims its Fusion Applications suite delivers end
- 8:12to end AI within existing workflows at no additional cost
- 8:16to customers. Every major enterprise software
- 8:19company is racing to prove it can orchestrate AI across
- 8:22business workflows in the vendor that wins controls the massive
- 8:26revenue stream for all of the enterprise.
- 8:29And according to Gartner, worldwide spending on
- 8:32information security alone will reach $240 billion in 2026, with
- 8:37AI adoption driving much of that growth.
- 8:40Service Now has acquisition strategy over the past year
- 8:43reveals its thinking move works deal for 2.85 billion brought AI
- 8:47powered enterprise search and roughly 500 AI specialist out of
- 8:50the team. Moverworks provides the
- 8:52engagement layer where employees interact with AI through natural
- 8:56conversations rather than just old school fly out menus and
- 9:00drop down menus. Visa added identity security and
- 9:05access governance, which becomes critical when you deploy
- 9:08autonomous AI agents. They can take actions across
- 9:11enterprise systems. An AI agent that can restart
- 9:14servers, access financial data, or modify customer records needs
- 9:17strict identity controls to prevent unauthorized actions.
- 9:21And Armis provides security for cyber exposure management across
- 9:26IT operational technology, IoT devices, and medical equipment.
- 9:31Armis recently topped 340 million in animal recurring
- 9:35revenue with 50% year over year growth and serves over 35% of
- 9:39the Fortune 100. Each acquisition fills a gap
- 9:42that might otherwise give enterprise buyers a reason to
- 9:45look elsewhere, and ServiceNow wants to be the single answer to
- 9:49every question about enterprise AI management.
- 9:54ServiceNow stock rose 2% in pre market trading when news of the
- 9:57Open AI deal broke. Investors has previously
- 10:00punished the stock over concerns about the company's aggressive
- 10:03acquisition pace, with shares falling to the lowest level
- 10:06since April 2025 after the Armas announcement.
- 10:10Chief Financial Officer Gina Mastantuno sought to reassure
- 10:14investors that the spending would slow after the Armistile
- 10:17closes. And the Open AI partnership
- 10:20offers a different idea altogether.
- 10:23Strategic AI integration. Rather than just swooping in and
- 10:27buying all those companies. Whether ServiceNow can integrate
- 10:307 major acquisitions in a year while maintaining platform
- 10:34coherence remains an open question.
- 10:36Usually doesn't happen that way, Usually takes a little bit of
- 10:39time, and we're going to see how they do integrating this all
- 10:43with their own complex architecture.
