- 0:23SPEAKER_01: my romantic thriller, is now available on Amazon and other online retailers.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: This book explores the intersection of loneliness, love,
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: and how chasing perfection through technology can lead to fantasy
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: and reality colliding.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: My virtual obsession out now.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Hey everyone it's Catherine Crestani with another episode of Willow Healing Matters
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: and today I'm joined by Holly Copeland again so
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: if anyone's wondering her episode our original episode together came out in June
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: and it was called Inner Rewilding so
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: So, for some reason,
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Holly and I have been brought together again and I am trusting the divine timing of
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: that, that we're meant to have another conversation.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: So I'm going to remind you if you're new to my world and Holly's as well, who Holly is.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: She is an author, speaker and former ecologist turned guide to the wild within.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Through her work in Inner Real Wilding,
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: she's on a mission to reconnect humanity with wild intelligence of being.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: So a big welcome back, Holly.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Catherine.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: I'm delighted to be back.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: I'm very curious about the conversation that we're going to have.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: And I feel like it's going to be very powerful.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I keep hearing the trees coming forward.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: So I feel like we're going to have a conversation about plants today.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm feeling.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: there's a lot I could talk about relative to plants yeah so I know
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: through your journey of coming back to yourself and and like you said
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: the inner rewilding and stepping out of that that you've done a lot of work
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: with nature and reflected that how has that continued to shift in terms
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: of working more with
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: with nature itself,
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: trees and plants and all the beautiful things that we're given in this life.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, there's so many things I could talk about.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: The two things that come to mind when you ask that question are a plant dieta
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: that I'm just finishing with birch and a
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Very sacred ayahuasca ceremony that I was in with someone who is from the Amazon
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: who works here in the United States.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: I won't say his name to protect him,
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: but I'll just say that I sat with this person
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: and had some really incredible experiences.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: And so both of those things are very topical right now in my world.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: And I feel there's some very
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: I so agree yeah I so agree and I it's funny because
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: when I started channeling trees I didn't know I could do it and my spiritual mentor
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: and I we were we're out I mean we're connecting with different trees on my land
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: because I was like I don't know we need to connect with these trees
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: and what it came down to is we were
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Talking to like a baby kind of energy,
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: like a childlike energy tree,
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: because there's the old matriarch and their energy is,
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: you know, very, oh, here I am.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: And then you've got the baby ones and they're quite cheeky,
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: like to the point that this tree,
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: if it doesn't want to be found, you can't even see it.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: It doesn't move.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: It's just almost...
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: And I'll see you next time
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: she said like it's Timmy at the exact same time
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: and I was like we cannot make this up you know like this is this is such
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: a beautiful synchronicity and that for me was like okay this all is
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: in my head this is really happening so I don't know what your experience has been
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: I don't connect on that channeling level like you do,
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: but let me describe this work that I just came off of and that I'm in the middle of.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: So I work with a teacher named Jordan Mockingbird,
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: and he does North American tree diets all over the world in Australia.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: He's actually coming to Australia and the UK and the United States.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: And these are non-psychedelic journeys.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So we work with oak, we work with birch, we work with metasequoia.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: and you drink a tea made from the bark of the different trees.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: I did oak last year and I just am in the finished completion stages of birch.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And what that means is that there's a before and after
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: But I went to Ojai,
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: California and I sat with this tree medicine for eight days,
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: no talking,
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: no, I was camping on the land with the other participants, but we didn't interact.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: And you eat a very,
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: very plain diet of literally a bowl of rice and some veggies and water
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: and that's it.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: There's no salt, no nothing at it.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: And you ate the same exact meal for eight days, twice a day.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And what that does is it really calms your nervous system and the noise
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: in your system because you don't have any other inputs.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: So it's very you become very pure and that sensitizes you to the energy of the tree
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: that you're dieting and I have some a really beautiful fun story to share about
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: the power of birch but it takes a few days is the you know as you calm your systems
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: and as you quiet and as the tree starts to integrate in your system and
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: About on day, I don't know, four or five.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: And mind you, I'm just like camping in a tent.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: There's no phone, right?
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So I'm like to complete digital detox.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: I can't talk to anybody and there's no one to talk to.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And I'm just laying in my tent,
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: just walking on the land and just the birch has an energy of renewal
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: and purification.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: And I could start to feel myself like
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: this sort of young renewal energy come up within me
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: and some really funny things happen like I have mind you I have hours and hours
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: and hours a day of just like nothing to do right so you know but I have
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: a journal you know and I start doing things like
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: going through my entire house and making a list of everything I was going to get rid of.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Like she just had me like doing it like a detox of my house.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I'm like literally mentally walking through every room,
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: like cataloging what I was going to get rid of,
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: which I came home and did a complete Marie Kondo of my closet,
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: a whole bunch of my closets.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: And it felt amazing.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: But that renewal and that purification first just came through in this way.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: And then, I mean, I just left feeling so light, so clean, so pure, so renewed.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: I have just the deepest,
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: deepest respect for these teachers,
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: for these tree teachers and the wisdom that they have.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: I'll stop there and then I want to share a really fun healing story that also happened.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: But what does that
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: to digest that for a minute.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: So I have done,
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: because I call in when I do my work,
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: I call in the divas of whatever plant wants to come through.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: Or when I was doing some plant wisdom training and like learning how to connect more
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: with plants and really learn to use them in healing practices,
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: the eclipse came through,
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: which doesn't surprise me because I'm surrounded by eucalypses.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: And eucalypts are this very strong...
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: If you need courage, you kind of channel that eucalypt because they're very...
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: They withstand so much,
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: you know, like if we think of the Australian landscape, you know, they can...
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: I'm looking outside today and we have like these crazy winds, you know, and they just...
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: you know doesn't break them and then we've got the fires come through and some
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: of them they get regenerated from the fire you know we've got you know they'll go
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: into drought and they'll still get
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: through they just this very strong resilient energy so
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: when I need courage I'll actually call in the energy of the the eucalypt
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: and I can feel my spine straighten straight away
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: and just feel like someone's got me someone's holding my bag
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: so very mirroring you know what you went through with the
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: and interacting and allowing it to do.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: But you have to create that space and let it come in.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: Otherwise,
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: it can't work because you're resisting it or you apply those kind of whatever,
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: you know, egotistical thoughts that we have to that moment.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: Whereas I'm like, oh, yeah, eucalyptus here.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: Or I had a client in and a mugwort showed up because I work with plants too,
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: but the mugwort showed up.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: And mugwort's this big, strong energy.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: Liken him to it's very masculine it's like he's very similar to Archangel Michael
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: but from a plant kingdom but he's more no nonsense right so
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: if he shows up I'm like oh I'm I'm just gonna step back here and
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: and let you do what you need to do just like okay but then we've got like a rose
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: which is a lot more centered around like that love and that
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: that nurturing allowing you to to bloom
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: So when Rose shows up, then I just kind of go, okay, I can feel that, you know, let it happen.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: So what's the healing story that you had happen with the birch?
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Because I'd love to hear this.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: Well, one of the things that I did, I do make magic wands as a hobby.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: And so I,
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: like collect sticks and I sand them and I polish them and I put crystals on them.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: And it's just kind of a thing that I've started to do as a way to connect with
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: the wood and the energy of the trees.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: And so I had made a magic wand and actually for our leader and I was I had
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: a wood burning tool and I was engraving my Ogham name which is Holly on the bottom
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: of the stick and I accidentally slipped my hand
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: and the wood burning tool hit my my touch the tip of my finger
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: and this thing is like as hot as a stove it's like super super super hot right
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: and instantly I had this second degree burn like it's white the tip
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: of my finger is white and then within minutes it just starts throbbing like burns do
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: and I kind of was in a no shit moment because I'm out in the woods
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: and I don't have anything to really care for myself right and so I'm in my tent
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: and I'm kind of
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: Thinking about what should I do Should I go get help Should I get help from
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: the leader And I look over at my jar of birch tea And I just thought I wonder if
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: that would help And birch is known for wound care And I had remembered reading that
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: But I didn't remember reading anything about burns But I had this jar of birch tea
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: So I dip my finger in the birch tea And instantly Catherine It stopped hurting Like
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: that
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: I mean anybody that's had a second degree burn burns hurt and especially
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: on your hand which is super sensitive that throbbing just stopped
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: And I couldn't believe it.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: I was like, wow, okay, what is this?
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: And the tea was actually a little warm, so I couldn't actually just like put my finger in.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: So I just kept dipping my finger in and taking it out, dipping in, taking it out.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And I did this for about an hour.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: And I kid you not, after about an hour, the white tip of my finger reduced in size by half.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: Like literally within an hour, the wound had decreased in size.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: This is a second degree burn.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: By the end of the day, after just kind of minding it, I couldn't tell that I had been burned.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: This medicine is so powerful.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I wanted to go out and like go to a burn unit somewhere and say, do you guys work with Birch?
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Because
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: This medicine is very very powerful for burns
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: and I know you know I subsequently home and I had three different books that talked
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: about birch in a Celtic wisdom because that's where a lot of
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: that herbal wisdom is carried through and
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: they all talked about about wound care and I found one
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: that specifically mentioned burn it really I mean I work
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: with herbs I've I have not personally that's the first time I've worked
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: with something that had such a rapid cooling effect literally like like right
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: before my eyes kind of an effect
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: it's very it's so it's so beautiful because it's just I feel this is
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: where people underestimate good essential oils as well right
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: because that's what essential oils are created to do is capture the plants medicine
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: in a way that translates so when my my my little human who's about must have been
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: about one because he just learned to kind of sit up and you know when you have kids
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: and they like to sit up they'll just fall
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: when their muscles kind of fatigue.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: And we had the cleaner come in our house and he was sitting on his play mat.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: I was like, his play mat looks a little bit too close to the coffee table.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: I should really move him away.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: And as I'm thinking that,
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Linda Crestani
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: I said ice ice you know ice on it right yeah so I just kept putting it on
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: and icing it and putting it on and icing it by the time my husband got home
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: a few hours later there was not even a bruise there and I had a photo evidence
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: of this like it was
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: an egg and he's like what happened he goes you sent me
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: the photo I know he had this egg what happened I said lavender or an ice
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: and he's like really I said that's all I did that's all I did
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: and I just I was consistent with it and just kept applying it to the point when then
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: because you know being a boy mum I mean other boy mums and
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: then they're like oh my goodness like he keeps ending up and bruises I said you need
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: to get yourself some lavender oil
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: It's like, let me show you.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: But again,
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: the magic of that is just if you allow the plants to do it and do their magic,
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: they can be that beautiful healing.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: And it's all this forgotten knowledge that's been kind of suppressed,
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: which we won't talk too much about that because then our video will get taken down.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: But there's all this hidden knowledge that's been forgotten or
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: you know told that we need to do it a different way when really we don't have
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: to do it a different way we can go back to the old ways as well very much feel
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: that that's what's happening it's a remembering of forgotten knowledge and it's
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: so I find it just so exciting it makes me want to learn so much about this world
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: of herbal medicine that many many people are steeped you know deeply in you know
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: which I'm just beginning to just beginning really even though
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: you know it's been in my awareness to take it really seriously because
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: of these experiences you know with plants yeah and I feel that that's the next step
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: on your journey right it's like birch opened that curiosity for you yeah
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: and you know you accidentally burnt your finger I'm not saying you did it on purpose
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: but at the same time there's probably some sort of weird divine intervention there
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: because you have to create that to understand the power of the healing
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: of birch yes right
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: And I call on the oak, which I dieted last year for strength.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Oak is one of my great teachers.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: And I can really feel,
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: because I've worked with oak,
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: when I call in the medicine of oak,
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: I feel this,
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: just like you mentioned with the eucalyptus,
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: I kind of feel this reservoir of strength coming within me.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: So it's... That's it.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: yeah I was gonna say there's just a song popping in my head
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: and it's it goes down like an oak I can't remember the rest of it
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: but it's like really beautiful Appalachia Rising yes yes yes yeah
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: that's what song's just popping in my head but it's really beautiful and thank you
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: so much for sharing your journey with Birch because it's I don't know what Birch is
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: because I don't I'm in Australia we don't have Birch per se but it's funny
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: because Birch comes up in rune because I work with runes so
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: then Birch naturally comes up because it's linked
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: to I actually pulled out my rune book when you were talking
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: because I was like I can see the picture but it's linked to the Bacana rune
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: which is all about nurturing and beauty nourishment healing mothering fertility
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: and growth which is exactly what you were sharing so it's it it's always intertwined
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: and it always and then weirdly it's meant to represent star sign cancer
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: and I'm cancer it's not a cancer movie I'm
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: It is?
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: I didn't know Yes,
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: yes I'll take a photo of this and email it to you It's very fascinating I would love
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: to see that Yeah, and so this is like the synchronicities, right?
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: When we start to put these things apart and see how they work and see how they work
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: you know even the fact that we're somehow recording again
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: and we're like how did this happen I don't know but that's okay
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: the trees wanted more conversation about the beauty and magic of trees
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: so I yeah I'm all here for it because I really do feel you know
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: the trees were here long long before us they carry deep
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Deep Wisdom.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Oak, for example, sets the rhythm of the forest.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Oak actually is like the heartbeat of Mother Earth.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: Oak keeps the frequency and oak is all over, you know, all of north, the northern hemisphere.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: There are oak species and they're this ancient wise being tree that has been revered by
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: all the indigenous traditions where there's oak,
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: they revere oak for its strength, for its wisdom, for its royalty, for its majesty.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: And I just really feel that we're in this great remembering where we're going
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: to be going back to the trees for answers,
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: about humanity,
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: about who we are, about where we fit in, about all of that, you know?
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Don't you feel that?
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: Yes, 100%.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: And it's interesting too,
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: because I've had other guests on the show and we're talking about the shift away
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: from just Western medicine or allopathic medicine and this curiosity
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: to investigate plant medicine more,
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: but also alternative health practices,
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: Eastern medicine,
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: all these different very ancient traditions that are being pushed to the side.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: And then,
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: having that like woven together, you know, like you said, just the burn units know.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: that birch can heal the bone that quickly.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: How different would that be?
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: Or even the broken bones.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: I can't think of the technical name.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: Osteo unit, I guess.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: Having some comfrey can help your bones knit faster.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: It's literally called the knit bone herb.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: So it can allow your bones to heal quicker.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: So there's all these kind of things that we can use.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: Hawthorne's one of my favorite for people who have...
- 19:08SPEAKER_02: Blood Pressure Issues and again anyone listening will put the caveat
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: in here you know consult your medical advice and all those sorts of things
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: so we don't get in trouble but at the same time Hawthorne is this magic kind of herb
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: where it allows your blood pressure to regulate whether it's too high
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: or too low taking Hawthorne will allow it to stabilize in
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: the middle like it just knows how to work that magic into the
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: you know whatever is happening and so if I have people or my clients come in
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: and they're like oh you know I've got brain fog I had this one
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: the other week I've got brain fog straight away I'm like you need ginkgo biloba I
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: can never say it ginkgo biloba or whatever it is thank you
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: and they're like oh really I said yeah it's amazing for brain fog you know
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: so there's all these kind of remedies and when you start to be open and working
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: with them a bit like how you you you created that deep connection Holly
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: But that's your doorway now to working with more of these beautiful plants
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: and seeing how that evolves too.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I want to ask you about ginkgo because I also have people in my family
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: who have like, you know, brain fog or sort of, or, you know, like memory issues.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: I would assume ginkgo is really good for that as well.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: yeah it it's like one of the main things you can take to boost
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: in cognitive impairments and cognitive function and there's so many studies
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: that have been done yeah yeah
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: and how do you just have it how do you recommend you can have people take most of
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: the people I have taking it as a tea so they'll just um they'll get the herb
- 20:41SPEAKER_02: and they'll distill it as a tea maybe put a bit of honey in it because it can be
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: a little bit but you can also another
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Another good herb is Brahmi.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: It's also called Bacopa.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: So it's another one.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: So you can make a blend and then make it really strong.
- 20:57SPEAKER_02: I know some of my clients too, they'll go find like a supplement made with it.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: I just say with that,
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: be very conscious of the potency of it and also who's creating it
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: and how it's being created because how the herb is prepared
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: does matter and I'm really blessed because I found this beautiful company
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: in Australia and when I started getting herbs from them I could feel
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: the energy difference you know like I could actually feel there was
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: a different frequency even they have native herbs like native Australian herds
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: which are prepared by First Nations people so it has a different energy to it
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: because it's respecting the plant and the energy so if you're looking
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: for these places you know iHerb is great
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: and I'm not dishing iHerb but at the same time who's creating the products
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: that are coming through there so get to know people or if you can grow it yourself
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: because it has a different energy again when you are growing it
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: I know I grow mugwort and it just has this really beautiful resonance
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: and anyone I give it to they're like whoa what did you do
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: and I'm like let's just grow it in my bedroom I just
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: when it dries I just pick it off and dry it out so you can have and there's
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: a lot more studies coming out too this supporting you know how these herbs can work
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: in conjunction with
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: with whatever ailment that you might have or even how they can work with medication.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: So if you are on medication,
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: but I would say just double check the contraindications before you take a herb
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: because it's really important just to double check that because some herbs do
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: because medication does have plant elements.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: So just check how they interact.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: And if you're not sure, again, just ask your medical practitioner.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: Do you think for like Ginkgo or something like that the tea is better than say taking a castle?
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: I assume yes because you can put the intention into the water as you're creating
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: the tea as well because the water can hold that energy and there is this sacred
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: kind of union that you have when you're preparing it right and I find for me
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: when I go to prepare a tea that I do go into kind of like this weird ritual maybe
- 23:04SPEAKER_02: a remembered ritual of just you know honoring what teas I feel pulled to to make
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: into my little blend that day and also you know the whole thing of like steeping it
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: and allowing it to flow into the water so I
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: for me I feel like teas can be more potent but if it's like
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: You know,
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: for example,
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: if you have a, like,
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: a bar and you want to have it,
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: wrapped in something,
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: then you can always create compresses and tinctures and there's
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: so many other things.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: It's like this beautiful world that you can go into.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: Or sometimes just for people who maybe are not,
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: they're just not going to prepare a tea,
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: a tincture,
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: might be easier for them, you know, put something under their tongue in the morning.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: you know yeah exactly about certain people my family and their receptivity
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: to making you know goatee versus a real butcher for example yeah so exactly
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: and I guess it's whatever works for that person right you know so you know even
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: because I have a frequency machine so if someone maybe can't take the tea or take
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: that that I might look up the frequency of the plant and pop that in
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: or I might create
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: like the frequency and put it into distilled water so that it can transfer across
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: so there's lots of different ways you can do it so if you're not if you're listening
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: to this and you're like I don't want to have
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: the tea okay there's other ways it's okay it's okay you know they'll find it take
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: your point and I really agree with you
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: that sourcing really matters you know like you know there's a couple
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: of really beautiful companies in the U.S. you know
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: Anima Mundi Mountain Rose Herbs some you know so there's some good ones out there
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: but it's quality really matters yeah 100% we had a beautiful guest on the show
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: a few episodes Ben
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: Ben from BayRenity.net So he's working with different mushroom compounds
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: and it comes in a capsule.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: So that might be somewhere that people can go have a look too.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: Not that we're unplugging Ben,
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: but he makes a really beautiful product and he's very conscious of how
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: the mushrooms are prepared and to get the most out of the mushrooms.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: And I'm not talking magic mushrooms, if anyone hasn't listened to that episode.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: I'm talking about,
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: like how like lion's mane and all those different sorts of things
- 25:17SPEAKER_02: and actually creating them so that they work.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: which is really interesting too yeah so this is more than one way to skin
- 25:24SPEAKER_03: a cat yeah bare remedy so bare remedy.net yeah it will cross promote
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: that episode I love it yeah I like I'm really big right now
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: on you know giving shout outs to people
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: who are doing really beautiful work you know cross pollinating yeah
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: a hundred percent and the question that's popping in my head Holly is that now
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: that you've
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: experience Birch and the power of that.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: How do you see that entwining now into what you do with people with inner rewilding?
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: Well, it's interesting that you ask that.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, on a
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: On kind of continuing on this theme,
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: my new newsletter is called The Wildlife and that came actually
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: through my Birch Dieta to support people to their,
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: little bit more of the external things,
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: their diets, medicines, things like that, just moving towards all of those things.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: And it's something that I've been moving towards for a long time.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, since this journey, for sure.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: And even before then, I was oriented.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: I raised my kids in Wyoming, for example, and my ex-husband used to hunt.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Well, he still hunts, but we're not together.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: But I spent 20 years making game meat.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: And so...
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: I have this thread of really believing in the power of wild foods,
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: medicines, now herbs, and wanting to talk about that more in the work that I do.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: So that's one way that it's coming in is just being much more forthright about,
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: again, cross-promoting people I really believe in and lifestyle choices that support
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: A Healthy Planet.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: One of the things that came through in this plant medicine ceremony,
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: an actual ayahuasca ceremony that I did,
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: was the recognition that when we choose products,
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: this may sound really like an obvious, but it really came through strong.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: And I think there's sneaky ways that we don't do this.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: Every time we choose something that is cheap, like a cheap olive oil, instead of buying
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: the one that was handcrafted that was better made, you know, because we go to
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: I don't really want to degrade people and say names,
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: but you know,
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: the kind of big box places that are going for a lowest cost,
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: that we are not, we are choosing something that is not as vital.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: It doesn't, is not filled with as much life force and vitality.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: And that everything really is about, I mean, healing ultimately is about
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Alignment and healing within ourselves is about promoting life force and vitality
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: and so and I'm as guilty as anyone of like I'll just go
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: for this this olive oil is just three dollars less than that olive oil
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: but I can tell that it's not quite as good but you know
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: You know, we're cost conscious and life is expensive and it's easy to do.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: And yet what I the message that really came through was that
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: the universe will support us when we support ourselves with the things that promote.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Mo Life Force, the strongest vitality.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: It serves us so beyond just the, you know, it's like olive oils and olive oils.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: I'm just using it as an example.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: It's not all the same to the same point of your herb example.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: They're not all the same.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: And we do ourselves a disservice And we're doing the planet a disservice
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: And there are so many beautiful people now I come across people all
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: the time I'm sure you do as well in the work that you do
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: Who are making beautiful products Who are doing things so consciously
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: And I mean,
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: I was in a group with this woman,
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: I'm just going to name this one because it's coming to mind.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: She makes ceremonial cacao from the Amazon and it's wild sourced.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: Her name's Cassina and she makes, the company's called Wanahe, U-A-N-A-H-E-Y, Wanahe.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: And I heard her talk about this wild sourced cacao and the benefits of it.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: And it's like so aligned with inner rewilding because this, you know, these things, they support
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: at these deep energetic levels I know I'm preaching to the choir with you
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: and you know and so it really is a call for each of us myself very much included
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: to just every time we're you know every purchase is a vote for for what we want
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: to see in the world and yeah and and and for our inner alignment and
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: for our vitality and that is such a beautiful example of the olive oil I got
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: I am told by spirit to start choosing things based on the frequency,
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: not based on the label, even organic.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: So for example,
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: where we get our chicken from,
- 30:17SPEAKER_03: it's just like a market, like a food market kind of thing.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: I don't buy the organic one.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: It doesn't feel good as the one where the farmer's written the story and talks
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: about how it nourishes the chickens and they try and do everything chemical free.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: They're not perfect.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: Like this is actually what it says on the packet, you know, but they're trying their best.
- 30:37SPEAKER_02: the energy of that feels so much better than the organic one so we actually choose
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: that one and yes it's cheaper but at the same time we get more
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: and it feels energetically better so even like you know you go to pick your apples
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: and you might be like oh no these don't feel good even though they're meant
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: to be organic right right and that is becoming more energetically sensitive because
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: in order to
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: to do what you're talking about where you're like, oh, this feels better.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: You need to become more energetically sensitive.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: You need to start to attune yourself to the subtle energies.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: And, you know,
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: this is part of my inner rewilding for people who,
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: you know, heard my whole sort of last episode about attuning to the living universe.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: And so as we begin to attune ourselves more to the vitality, the vital flow, the life, then
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: We become receptive to those differences and we can start to feel them, you know.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: And, you know,
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: there's ways like,
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: for example,
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: if you're standing there and you're not sure,
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: you know, do a little muscle test, you know.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: My favorite one is the pendulum.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: I'm like, that's the best one for me because it's so easy, you know.
- 31:45SPEAKER_00: Hold the olive oil to your heart and do you go forward or back,
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: you know, and then hold the next one, you know.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: And if you go forward, that's a yes.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: So, you know, use those.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: Your body is an instrument that's attuned
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: that can feel and is sensitive to these frequencies.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: And so learn to read your body and let your body tell you what it wants.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: That's a day-to-day practice for all of us to be living in that,
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: in such deep conversation with the living universe that we're not trying to answer
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: from here, but we're actually, you know, letting our people show us.
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:27SPEAKER_02: Very practical.
- 32:28SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 32:29SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: I use it all the time.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: That's how I got really strong.
- 32:32SPEAKER_02: That's how I strengthened my intuitive skills using muscle testing.
- 32:36SPEAKER_02: And it also makes it really quick to order when you go to a cafe or a restaurant
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: because it's like, hey, body, what do you want today?
- 32:42SPEAKER_02: No, no, no, no, no.
- 32:43SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 32:44SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 32:44SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 32:44SPEAKER_02: Appreciate that.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: You don't have to have like conversation in your head about...
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: You know, this or that or whatever.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: It makes decision-making,
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it was David Hawkins or somebody who,
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: said it like it just makes decision-making so much simpler,
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: you know, because, you know, the reason that we get caught in
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: Indecision is because we're trying to answer from here, from up in our heads.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: And so, you know,
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: the beauty is that there's a way out of that mental indecision by asking your body,
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: giving your body a chance to starting to learn to really tune
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: into your body's wisdom and what it wants.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: Let it show you.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: And I feel that's a beautiful segue into my last question for you,
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: which is if you could heal or change something in the world, what would it be?
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: Well, I feel like right now what's just very present is that everybody would learn
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: to get out of their head and into their heart.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: If we were all heart-led, there would be no problems.
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: There really wouldn't be.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: The heart knows the way.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: So I would just say we become a completely heart oriented, heart centered, heart devoted people.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: That's all that's needed.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: A hundred percent.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: And Holly,
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: if people want to come and find you or follow you or check out what's happening

- 34:46SPEAKER_00: You know, it's so perfect, this conversation about Birch.
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: And who knows,
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: maybe somebody who has,
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: somebody,
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: a child who just got a burn,
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: who knows,
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: they'll listen to this and they'll check out Birch and be magically surprised by
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: the power of Birch.
