- 0:21seeing me here in a space that is almost the same, but just not
- 0:24really today. Oh my God, you guys are so
- 0:29lucky. I'm so thrilled for myself, for
- 0:32my audience, our audience Today we have repeat guest of the pod
- 0:39traveled from out of town, over the river and through the woods.
- 0:42We've got Cess, Loudermilk, welcome back to do that age
- 0:46well. Thank you, Molly, it's good to
- 0:47be back. Did you know that our episode on
- 0:51My Favorite Murder is the most popular episode of Did That Age
- 0:55Well? That's so interesting, I did not
- 0:56know. That, and guess what?
- 0:57That was your idea. It was my idea.
- 1:00Yeah, because we were going to record something on, like, I
- 1:04don't know, a movie, something normal.
- 1:06And then all that stuff with my favorite Murder happened where
- 1:09it was like, you know, the Internet was having a reckoning.
- 1:11And you said, I think we need to discuss this on the mic.
- 1:14And then we gathered. We gathered the girls.
- 1:17We said assemble. All the OG MFM fans.
- 1:22Exactly the Murdorino's. And Molly, my question to you
- 1:25also is? Oh, she's got questions already.
- 1:27Yeah, I've got some. I've got some questions.
- 1:29OK. Do you still listen to it or?
- 1:32I haven't listened to it in. Years after that episode, I
- 1:35didn't listen for a while, and I've recently been dipping my
- 1:38toe back in. Yeah, and enjoying it.
- 1:40You're having a good time. I'm loving it.
- 1:42Look, we are all capable of growth.
- 1:45Every woman has the right to change her mind.
- 1:47We can change our minds. Men, not so much.
- 1:50Yeah, women are complex. We are.
- 1:53And I changed. My mind 1000 times. 1000 times
- 1:58is my favorite murder good? Is it bad?
- 2:01Is it somewhere in the middle? Every other day I think
- 2:03something I think I think one of.
- 2:04Those you think one of those things flip.
- 2:06Flop. She's a flip flopper.
- 2:08Flip flop, Yeah. Yeah, and I get that.
- 2:12Seth, I want to know, if you were in a cover band, what kind
- 2:17of music would you play? The Wedding Singer, the movie we
- 2:21were discussing today. OK, so the I have been I so I
- 2:25watched this movie, the Wedding Singer about a month ago and
- 2:30ever since then I have been listening to the soundtrack
- 2:33pretty consistently. Wow.
- 2:35OK, that's great. It's a pretty consistent thing.
- 2:37I, I love Flock of Seagulls. OK, great.
- 2:42And there's, I think it's called like new age love song on the on
- 2:48the soundtrack. And I would love to be in a band
- 2:50like that. Wow.
- 2:52Yeah, I love that for you. I don't know that I could do
- 2:55like that hairdo where it's like the like the waves and the horns
- 2:59and the, yeah, the swoops. But I would say I could.
- 3:02I have the hair. I have enough hair.
- 3:03You have enough hair, you just might require a.
- 3:06Hair to spare? You might.
- 3:07You might just need to hire glam for that excursion.
- 3:11And look, money doesn't grow on trees.
- 3:13OK, Yeah, okay. I also, I feel like Speaking of
- 3:18the soundtrack, I forget that Adam Sandler, like, actually has
- 3:22a good voice. Like, I forget that all the time
- 3:25because he sings his silly songs.
- 3:27And then he got up on that mic and I was like, Oh yeah.
- 3:31Someone killed me. I loved it.
- 3:35I thought he could. He could have gone either way.
- 3:37He could have had a music career or what he did have.
- 3:40He's a multi hyphenate, as they say in the biz.
- 3:43Yeah, true double threat, truly. Did he dance?
- 3:47No, we can't. We can't confirm the triple.
- 3:50We cannot confirm a triple or quadruple.
- 3:53But we do know that he has at least two talents showcased in
- 3:58this film. Really beautiful talents.
- 4:00Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:01It was wonderful to witness. Yeah.
- 4:02I truly don't love Adam Sandler. We've talked about it on the
- 4:06podcast before, because Nick and I talked about Little Nikki.
- 4:12Which is. Maybe maybe not one of his best,
- 4:17but I really like Adam Sandler in kind of more of a ROM com
- 4:21role. Like he Andrew Barrymore have
- 4:24good chemistry. I like this movie.
- 4:27I like 51st dates. So I don't know.
- 4:30I really, I really was catching myself by surprise when I
- 4:35enjoyed this so much. I'm so glad to hear that.
- 4:39Yeah, I don't remember little Nikki.
- 4:41Was that like about the devil or something?
- 4:43It is, yeah. So you do.
- 4:45Remember a little bit, I guess I do.
- 4:46A little remember little Nikki, little remember.
- 4:51So stupid. I'm sorry.
- 4:57Okay, so yeah, what is your history with this movie?
- 4:59Obviously you watched it a month ago.
- 5:01Texted me immediately and said get me on the mic I have some
- 5:05things to share. I'd love to get the back story
- 5:07because oh thank you. I got the idea to watch it again
- 5:11base. I was watching that new Netflix
- 5:13show with Kate Hudson called Running Point.
- 5:15OK. Where have you?
- 5:17Didn't I tell you about that? It's it's amazing.
- 5:20She's like, she like becomes like the manager was like, it's
- 5:25not the Lakers, but it's like based on it.
- 5:28And it's an amazing show for anyone that hasn't watched it.
- 5:32And it's hilarious. And one of her brothers in the
- 5:36show was like went through a breakup and was like in his bed
- 5:39crying watching the Wedding Singer.
- 5:41And I thought, Oh my God, I haven't watched this in forever.
- 5:44And I was 13 when it came out. It came out in 1998.
- 5:48So it had been a while. And to be honest, I was nervous
- 5:54because the last movie that I was like, Oh my gosh, Molly, we
- 5:58should do this for your podcast with 16 Candles and.
- 6:03Look how that turned out. It's literally one of the most
- 6:06horrific. Yeah, Lee on what it However you
- 6:10want to say it, it does not age well.
- 6:11It's like really sickening. It's.
- 6:13Sickening. It's not in the not in like the
- 6:17drag queen like sickening way, but in like the want to want to
- 6:21puke. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:23When people ask me like, oh, what's the what's 1 movie that
- 6:27really didn't age well, I usually say 16 Candles because.
- 6:31Such a bummer too. It's the truth, because Jake
- 6:33Ryan's so hot and leaning against his car in the movie
- 6:38Sputter Best Girl. Wow, still think about that a
- 6:42lot. And and I will go to the grave
- 6:45saying that that specific scene, yeah, it just just fine.
- 6:51Yeah, to me. Yeah, it's, yeah.
- 6:52It's the rest of it pretty bad. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:57OK, so you had the idea to rewatch it and then but you were
- 7:01nervous and then you rewatch it and you were like, Oh my gosh,
- 7:04what a thrill. It is good.
- 7:06I, I, I'm like Molly, what are we going to talk about?
- 7:09Because I think it did age well. That's it.
- 7:12And thank you so much for joining us SO.
- 7:13We're going to be talking about Katy Perry, you know, just
- 7:15kidding. TuneIn for 45 minutes about Katy
- 7:18Perry. Just kidding.
- 7:19But we will allocate approximately 20.
- 7:23OK, so so let's get are are we ready to get into the movie?
- 7:29Do you have anything else to yap about before we get into it?
- 7:31I mean, OK, great. OK, let's do this.
- 7:36Let's do the damn thing. I couldn't agree more.
- 7:39OK, so Robbie, played by Adam Sandler, he is, you guessed it,
- 7:45a wedding singer. And I just want to say right off
- 7:49the bat, I really resent that. Linda, his ex fiance tells him
- 7:57like, I missed the old you when you were like, you know, glam
- 8:00rock or whatever. Like, can't.
- 8:04He's a man with a stable job. Yeah, what's not to like?
- 8:07What is not to like? Yeah.
- 8:09Yeah, and I hate doing what he loves.
- 8:11I don't like when you break up with somebody and then tell them
- 8:13I wish you were the person you used to be.
- 8:15That is so. I mean, like, what are you
- 8:18supposed to say to that? Sorry, Sorry.
- 8:21I've evolved. Sorry, I've evolved.
- 8:24Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:27So. So I already present her for
- 8:30that. I love that he's a wedding
- 8:31singer. I love that he is also doing
- 8:34some gigs at bat mitzvahs. I love that he's yeah, he's
- 8:38again a multi hyphenate. He can do it all.
- 8:40Find yourself a man that can do it all.
- 8:42I'm trying. Do you know Wally?
- 8:48I'm blushing. OK, so so in the in one of the
- 8:54first scenes when he is at a wedding and there is a drunk
- 8:59brother that goes up to the mic, the best man.
- 9:02I loved it. We all know that feeling when
- 9:06you profile somebody when they fit, the stereotype of this will
- 9:09be this will be bad and you you just clench your butt hole for
- 9:14about 90 seconds until someone takes the mic away.
- 9:17Yeah, like being in that audience, I would have had such
- 9:19secondhand embarrassment. Oh my God, I had secondhand
- 9:22embarrassment and it wasn't. Even real, I was like, it was
- 9:24getting flushed like, but Steve Buscemi was hysterical.
- 9:29He was hysterical. I loved it.
- 9:31I love it. Have you been to a wedding
- 9:33before where there has been like a toast and it's really cringy?
- 9:37Yes. I have, I've been to a couple, I
- 9:40have been to 1 where they did and if you ever get married
- 9:48listener don't do this. And I feel like I shouldn't even
- 9:52have to say that, but if you have common sense, maybe this is
- 9:55something that you already know after the kind of like more
- 10:00official speeches. They just, they just said open
- 10:04mic. Open mic night.
- 10:06Open mic night and the one person who you're like, oh, I
- 10:10hope he doesn't take the mic was the first one to take the mic.
- 10:15I love it. I love that.
- 10:17Yeah, so he had his moment to shine and that was just fine.
- 10:21I also went to a wedding where the dad of the bride, one of the
- 10:26brides, gave a speech and it was like, so mean.
- 10:30He was just like being mean. Papa.
- 10:34Yes, He was just like, yeah, he was just like being a bitch.
- 10:38That's so sad. I know it was.
- 10:40Horrible. It was so sad.
- 10:43So I guess that's not really that funny.
- 10:45No, that's the fall in my category.
- 10:47No, but it was one of those moments where like everyone was
- 10:50kind of like frozen. Yeah, I bet at one where like
- 10:55the best man basically did like a roast instead of a toast.
- 10:58And it was like, oh, this is sad.
- 11:01This is a bummer, this is a bummer but I love the part where
- 11:04Steve Buscemi like took the guitar and started playing Me
- 11:07too and he's like no lessons self.
- 11:10That's like the best. And they're trying to, like,
- 11:12take it away from him. Yeah, that's great.
- 11:15He's got, you know, if he's got anything, it's confidence, yeah.
- 11:19And that'll get you far. Well, I think the alcohol bit
- 11:22really. And I.
- 11:22Think he really had that on his side?
- 11:25Yeah, I don't think he was actually confident.
- 11:28Probably not. You know what?
- 11:29I think you're right. Suss the facade.
- 11:32I think that you have clocked him for who he is.
- 11:35Yeah. OK, so.
- 11:37So Robbie gets left at the altar.
- 11:39Oh. That was so, it was so
- 11:41interesting. I felt like throughout this
- 11:43movie there were so many quick timelines.
- 11:45Yeah, like, oh, I'm getting married next week.
- 11:49Oh my God, they do that all the time in 90s movies.
- 11:51And it makes me wonder, sorry to reveal my age, sorry, I'm a
- 11:55young person, but I just like, I don't know if in the 90s people
- 12:00were just able to get married quickly.
- 12:02Yeah, booking a venue and like all that kind of stuff didn't
- 12:05take a year and a half. Yeah, like what the wedding
- 12:07culture was like in the 80s and 90s.
- 12:09What was the culture like? Or is it just, you know, kind of
- 12:12we're living in that movie magic.
- 12:14We're living in that, you know, suspension of disbelief.
- 12:18Yeah. For sure, but either way I will
- 12:21accept it but I have questions. Yeah, 'cause remember, like when
- 12:25Julia is planning her wedding and they're like working with
- 12:29his friend who's the limo driver and, like, timing him.
- 12:32Yeah. And they're like, well, it's
- 12:34next Saturday, so. And I'm like, wait, what?
- 12:37So you're just waiting this long to book somebody, right?
- 12:40Or, yeah, maybe it was a quicker timeline.
- 12:42Maybe the wedding industry today has gotten out of hand.
- 12:45And you know what? Thank you for saying that.
- 12:47Because it has. Yeah, I think it really has.
- 12:50Oh, I know. Booking a venue?
- 12:52Yeah, like that should be. That should be.
- 12:56Years, yeah, years in advance to be, to be in like in an empty
- 13:02room. Yeah.
- 13:03What? Yeah, that's.
- 13:05Wild, in my opinion, Yeah. And an injustice.
- 13:12But we're not here to talk about that.
- 13:13We're here to talk about. We're here to talk about the
- 13:17Queen. Drew Barrymore, Yeah, she's so
- 13:22cute in this. She's so cute.
- 13:23Did you ever have one of those like, flippy haircuts?
- 13:25No, no. Did you?
- 13:27I tried, Yeah. I sure tried, yeah.
- 13:29Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She was like, the
- 13:31quintessential, like, 90s girl in this with, like, the dog
- 13:34gardens and like, the Daisy Sun dress.
- 13:36Yeah, and her hair. Oh my God.
- 13:38She was adorable. Cute little face.
- 13:40She was like adorable this whole movie.
- 13:43I agree she's so. Charming.
- 13:45She's like the heart eye emoji. Oh my God.
- 13:48Drew Barrymore in The Wedding Singer is hard eye emoji.
- 13:52Yeah, the whole time. Yeah, pretty much.
- 13:54But in like a really sweet way and not in like the Ariana
- 13:58Grande way. Yeah.
- 14:00You know, I feel like Ariana Grande actually Ariana Grande is
- 14:03not the hard eyes emoji. She's more like the, she's kind
- 14:08of more like, you want, you know, the one that's just like
- 14:12with the big eyes. Like that's kind of what I
- 14:15think. Yeah.
- 14:15Because she's always like, I don't see any comparison between
- 14:20her and Drew Barrymore. OK, great.
- 14:22Do you? No, I was just thinking about,
- 14:24like, people who also kind of fit hard eye emoji.
- 14:27Oh, OK. But I've actually changed my
- 14:32mind. Redact that from the record.
- 14:34I'd like to see that redaction scratch the pod.
- 14:38Anyway. Yeah.
- 14:39What a what great chemistry between these. 2 and it you're
- 14:43right. OK, so we're, like getting into
- 14:45the fact that, like, he gets married.
- 14:47Yeah. The next.
- 14:48But Linda, his fiance, leaves him at the altar.
- 14:52It's like, heartbreaking because like the whole movie, Robbie.
- 14:56Robbie Hart. His last name is.
- 14:58Hart How could he not love? Me, I just realized that.
- 15:04Much better than Julia Gulia AM. I right.
- 15:07No kidding. Well.
- 15:08He was like, so sweet. Like the whole movie, like, he's
- 15:10like, wants to build everyone up around him and, like, make
- 15:12everyone feel good and loved and, like, seen.
- 15:15Yeah. And that was like.
- 15:16Really sweet, even 13 year old boys.
- 15:19Yeah, you know, he had a big heart.
- 15:21He did. He had a big heart.
- 15:23Yeah, Hart. So true girl.
- 15:28So Julia, she is a new waitress and she is engaged to fucking
- 15:38Glenn. And he's like literally the only
- 15:41thing in this movie that doesn't age well.
- 15:44But here's the thing. Like like toxic masculinity?
- 15:49Yeah. Never ages well.
- 15:51And that's the thing, too, is that he ultimately loses in the
- 15:55end. The fact that he is so awful,
- 16:00yeah, To me, it's like this does hold up because who among us,
- 16:06who among us has not met some guy who works in finance, sorry,
- 16:10or dated or anyone who we've who we've dated?
- 16:13Not even in finance, you know, just any career.
- 16:17Spans across industries. These men who are like fucking
- 16:21ball and chain over here. Yeah, I you know what we need to
- 16:26really stop doing. Yeah.
- 16:28Men, listen up. Stop resenting your partners for
- 16:35wanting to plan a good wedding. Or be in a committed
- 16:39relationship. Yeah.
- 16:41Yeah, just like when he's like, oh, that's your thing?
- 16:44Like you go ahead and plan it. I'm like just.
- 16:46Can't you just be excited? He, it was just like, he was
- 16:50like the worst version of every man, you know what I mean?
- 16:55Like in every sense of the word, period.
- 16:58And it was I we had no origin story for them and like how they
- 17:01got together because that makes absolutely no sense at all.
- 17:05OK, but here's the thing. Haven't we all met a couple
- 17:08where like one person is so cool and great and hard eyes emoji
- 17:13and then the other one Hello. Yeah, yeah, hello.
- 17:16Hello. Hello.
- 17:17Right here, exes. Just kidding, Not mine, but
- 17:21you're certainly. But it's so interesting because
- 17:27it's like he just like said everything you never want your
- 17:32partner to ever say out loud. 100% yeah.
- 17:36And it was like so out there, the whole.
- 17:37She was movie. She was always trying to like
- 17:40defend him. She always had to, like she
- 17:43always had to explain away his behavior.
- 17:45She was always embarrassed, but then she would still be so kind.
- 17:48I know she was so nice to him. I didn't get that.
- 17:51I hate. To see that I hate to see a
- 17:53woman be nice to a man who sucks.
- 17:55I know. And like the whole thing was
- 17:56like just like, and I don't know if that's like a sign of like
- 18:00the times or it is just like, what do you call that one?
- 18:04It's like a caricature of like, you know what I mean?
- 18:07Like. A stereotype?
- 18:08An archetype? Yeah.
- 18:09Of. Just like this man who doesn't
- 18:13care and is just getting married because, like, well, as he said,
- 18:16she's paid her dues or something.
- 18:17Yeah, or she was with me before I got rich, right?
- 18:20So he's like, I know I can trust her, but he doesn't seem to
- 18:23really care about trust. Trust, trust or trust doesn't
- 18:27really seem to be the value of his any elements of a
- 18:29relationship. Has he not heard of a?
- 18:31Prenup. I mean, he could marry anyone
- 18:33that he wanted if he just, you know, did a little research, but
- 18:36he doesn't seem like a guy who does research.
- 18:38It was so weird that he. Even wanted to get that he even
- 18:41was like. That he agreed or he like,
- 18:43proposed, right? Like.
- 18:45Bizarre, especially because, I mean, in this era, certainly,
- 18:51but even today, like men in their 20s and 30s and beyond, if
- 18:56they're unmarried, it's just like, well, he's a bachelor.
- 18:59How cool is that? Like, he didn't have any social
- 19:02pressures to get married. It's not like he needed to, you
- 19:05know, dispel rumors about being gay or anything like that.
- 19:09He just. Clock is ticking like the.
- 19:11Yeah, exactly. Like he didn't have the same
- 19:13kind of pressures that she did, right.
- 19:15But she also had her intentions were truly out of like love,
- 19:19which again, what? Yeah, what?
- 19:23You know, the more I think about it, the more I wish she, like,
- 19:25loved herself a little more. So true, girl.
- 19:29Because, like, he wasn't like being bashful about being like,
- 19:32a chauvinist. No, it was like, honey, you pick
- 19:35out the flowers. I just ruined it anyway.
- 19:36It's like the weaponized incompetence.
- 19:38Weaponized incompetence. Bitch at an all time high for
- 19:41this guy. Oh my God.
- 19:43And it's just like, come on, come on, Drew, don't you see
- 19:47this? Don't you?
- 19:47Julia, Julia. Julia, Julia.
- 19:51I love. It should have been reason
- 19:52enough. Yeah.
- 19:54OK, let's talk about Sammy. That's like the best friend,
- 19:57right? The limo.
- 19:58Driver, the limo driver. I love him.
- 20:00OK, I love him. He even though like some of his
- 20:05behaviour is a little a little morally compromised, like when
- 20:11he says there's going to be hundreds of drunk girls there.
- 20:13So like let's get laid. OK, first of all, let me let me
- 20:17see. I actually wrote down the the
- 20:20quote so he said. We need to find someone to play
- 20:24with your Ding Dong and I. That's like a pretty.
- 20:30And look, I think that that is I think that it is totally fine.
- 20:35And even I would encourage if you have a friend who's
- 20:38heartbroken, like go ahead, be a wing man, find someone to play
- 20:42with their Ding Dong. However, I don't love that it
- 20:45was in connection to. Drunk the drunk, the drunk.
- 20:49OK, gotcha. Yeah, sure, sure.
- 20:52So I hear where you're coming from, so let's let's.
- 20:54Just be consenting adults, you know what I mean?
- 20:57Yeah, for sure. Yeah.
- 20:58Like, like, get yours. That's what I think he was
- 21:00trying to be. He was doing his best with what
- 21:02he had, which was limited in nineteen, 1998.
- 21:07But I feel like the movie was based like in the 80s.
- 21:09Yeah. The movie is based in the 80s.
- 21:11It came out in 98, but it's supposed to take place in 85.
- 21:14Yeah. So, so yeah, I just think by the
- 21:19end, especially when he's like, actually I am not fulfilled at
- 21:25all. This is deeply unfulfilling and
- 21:26I'm so insecure and I'm just like lonely and a total void
- 21:32and. When he was sitting at the bar
- 21:33and he said I just want to be loved and held.
- 21:35My God. Yeah, underneath all of it,
- 21:39underneath all that facade. And that's what made me feel
- 21:42like, OK, I feel like this character still has the
- 21:46potential to age well because because like, he ultimately
- 21:53comes around. He recognizes that his behavior
- 21:55is gross. And he's like, yeah, I actually
- 21:57just, like, want to be loved. And I feel like it was like a
- 22:00lot of talk too. Girl yeah I think it was yeah I
- 22:04think we all talk I think I don't think that he actually
- 22:09slept with any women no the whole show the whole the whole
- 22:12movie. Sorry, yeah, totally yeah,
- 22:15sorry. I okay, let me ask you this,
- 22:21Seth, have you ever practiced kissing somebody like they did
- 22:26in this movie? Have you ever just been like,
- 22:28let's practice that was? The only part where I was like,
- 22:31whoa, I don't remember this. Yeah, like.
- 22:34It reminded me a lot of Runaway Bride.
- 22:37Yeah. When Detective Stabler.
- 22:40What's his name again? Elliot Benson.
- 22:42Wait, no. Wait, what's that guys?
- 22:47Assembly and Benson, Stabler, Benson, Benson and Stabler.
- 22:52Yeah, the what's his name? Jacob Maloney?
- 22:55Christopher Maloney when he is watching Julia Roberts character
- 23:03kiss another guy as practice at the altar.
- 23:07I'm sorry. I don't remember that part
- 23:09either. Really.
- 23:10No. Blocked that out.
- 23:11That was the only part in this whole movie, one of the only
- 23:14parts where I was like, truly like what?
- 23:16Yeah, you're going to practice, practice kissing.
- 23:19What you're going to do at the altar with somebody else?
- 23:22Yeah, that's wild. That was insane and it looks
- 23:25like a great kiss too. And.
- 23:27You know, what is also wild is, is that it seemed like such a
- 23:31reasonable thing to her friend because she was going to she was
- 23:34going to kiss her girlfriend and she was like, Oh my God, no,
- 23:37you're crazy. I miss you.
- 23:38There's a guy here I know. That that part to me was so
- 23:41funny that like, she would not be taken aback by the absurdity
- 23:45of practicing kissing, but that she would be taken aback by the
- 23:49fact that she would just kiss her friend.
- 23:52She's like, oh, that's the part that's crazy about this.
- 23:55Yeah. I'm sorry.
- 23:56What? That was bizarre.
- 23:59Absolutely. That was, that was, that was
- 24:01such an interesting choice to put that in the script.
- 24:04You know what I mean? Like.
- 24:05But they needed to. They needed to move it along.
- 24:07Yeah, they did. They really did.
- 24:09They needed to kind of do you. Think that they were like and
- 24:12this is not a term that they had back then I'm sure but like did
- 24:15you think that they were emotionally or she was
- 24:17emotionally cheating on Glenn with no Robbie I.
- 24:20Don't. OK, because I think that she
- 24:23genuinely like MM. Hmm she genuinely like saw him
- 24:28and treated him as a friend. Would I be upset if my partner
- 24:33practiced kissing with another person?
- 24:38Yeah maybe. I think I think maybe I would,
- 24:41but he is amazing anyway. Oh no, I certainly would if
- 24:46someone said oh I just had to like, practice kissing at the
- 24:49altar fucking. Off.
- 24:51Yeah, I'm afraid and. He walked in like a couple
- 24:53minutes later. Oh yeah.
- 24:57And Robbie's like I kissed her but it didn't mean anything or
- 24:59like boy. And then and then the friend was
- 25:00like, oh, it was me. She like, kissed.
- 25:03Me. Yeah.
- 25:04So they weren't. And then she was so excited
- 25:06after that. Oh, yeah.
- 25:08And then I OK, I I what's her friend's name?
- 25:11OK. Hold on, let me look up.
- 25:12Maybe it's Jessie. OK, hold please.
- 25:16Her name was. Was it Holly?
- 25:20No, that's Julia's cousin. Was that her?
- 25:24Fuck. Sorry, you might be thinking to
- 25:27yourself, listener, are these girls prepared?
- 25:29The answer is I'm not. I think it's Jesse and it's
- 25:35played by Christine Taylor. Yeah.
- 25:37Yeah, it is Christine Taylor. Well, you can cut this out,
- 25:44right? I can, yeah.
- 25:47I mean, unless everyone just needs kind of a Yeah.
- 25:50Jacob, Jacob, you got that? Do you edit it, Molly?
- 25:55Mostly no I. Holly.
- 25:58Oh my God. You're right.
- 25:59It is. Holly Solo it is.
- 26:01Yeah. OK.
- 26:01And we didn't even talk about Alexis Arquette being in this
- 26:04movie. OK, yeah, also OK, I didn't
- 26:06realize that they were cousins, so now I do actually realize why
- 26:09she was so scandalized by the idea that her cousin.
- 26:14No, I don't like that. I don't realize they were
- 26:16cousins. I thought they were just like
- 26:17besties. I thought that they were their
- 26:19best friends. Am I like?
- 26:21No, but they're Julia Sullivan and Holly Sullivan, so yeah,
- 26:24they are cousins. OK, OK, OK.
- 26:27So I'm really glad that we figured that out and and you
- 26:32know what? Shout out to Dude IDK for all of
- 26:34the excellent editing work that you do you're going to have.
- 26:37Your work cut out this episode. We're we're we're keeping you in
- 26:42business, baby. OK, let's see, can we talk about
- 26:49George the, the, the singer? Yeah.
- 26:52OK, here's the thing. I thought that he sort of
- 26:56embodied that like glam rock look that seemed very popular in
- 27:00the 80s. And.
- 27:01And I think that they were misguided to be like, Oh my God,
- 27:04he's such a fucking freak. I thought that he seemed like, I
- 27:07don't know, sort of of the time. I agree.
- 27:09Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:10So a little unfair in my opinion.
- 27:12Agreed. Agreed.
- 27:14I love that he only sang one song.
- 27:16Me too. I thought that was so.
- 27:18Funny. And he's like real life siblings
- 27:21with Patricia Arquette and and David Arquette.
- 27:25David Arquette. Yeah, yes, I love it.
- 27:28Talented family, yes. They are.
- 27:30Can you imagine being like like that?
- 27:35Famous and talented with your siblings.
- 27:38No, no, she has passed. Oh, she has.
- 27:43Passed. Oh, sad.
- 27:45Oh, in 2016, Yeah. Oh my God, yeah.
- 27:48It's been a sad. I know.
- 27:50I loved her in that movie. Which one?
- 27:54I loved Alexis Arquette in The Wedding Singer.
- 27:57Oh, oh. OK.
- 27:58Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. OK.
- 28:01So sorry. Now we're caught back up, we're
- 28:03circling back to the movie at hand.
- 28:07OK, let's see. I kind of lost my train of
- 28:11thought and my spot in my notes, so we're circling back.
- 28:15Oh, OK. OK.
- 28:18You know what I love? Yeah.
- 28:20The part where after like after the whole getting left at the
- 28:27altar thing, Robbie is being heckled by, well, the person
- 28:32who's paying him for this, for this wedding singer appearance.
- 28:35And he says, well, I have a microphone and you don't.
- 28:39And God, if that ain't the truth, that feeling of when
- 28:42you're like, well, actually I have the microphone so.
- 28:46I'm going to put myself. Out there, I'm going to say what
- 28:48I want. Or when you have a megaphone,
- 28:51anything like that. I mean, don't we all?
- 28:53Don't we all relate? Yeah, yeah, I love that.
- 28:56I love when he's saying love stinks.
- 28:58That was a good, that was a good scene.
- 29:00It's really good. Wow.
- 29:03What a wholesome episode for us. Yeah.
- 29:05Oh my God. OK, so you know the Netflix show
- 29:08The Ultimatum? Yes.
- 29:11I feel like these people should have been on it.
- 29:13Yeah. They would.
- 29:15Be. So good, because if, if Glenn
- 29:19and Julia were on it, Julia would be the hero of the show,
- 29:23brand deals for the rest of her life, and Glenn would be the
- 29:28easy villain. Yeah, because of course he would
- 29:30be. He would be not only
- 29:34participating gladly in the experiment, but probably with
- 29:38every woman there. Yeah, it would have been messy.
- 29:41The I feel like not like the total as villain as as Glenn,
- 29:45but like her mom and she her name is Christina Pickles
- 29:49actresses name and she's the mom from friends.
- 29:52She's Ross and monical's mom and friends.
- 29:55That's where we know her from. She does a good job being
- 29:58mother. Motherly.
- 29:59Yeah, she's. A matronly actor, Yeah.
- 30:02But I feel like Julia came to her a couple times and was like
- 30:08this. What I'm feeling I don't feel
- 30:09like is normal. Yeah.
- 30:11And like she has those. Flags.
- 30:13Yeah Nope, Nope Nope, Nope, Nope.
- 30:14Just. Do it.
- 30:15He's rich. He's rich.
- 30:16Yeah. Totally do it.
- 30:17She's like, before you know it, you'll be ugly.
- 30:19And that made me so sad. I know me too.
- 30:21Like go to your mom and be like, I don't know if I'm doing the
- 30:24right thing. And she's like.
- 30:25She's like, who cares? Yeah, yeah, that was sad.
- 30:29She's like deal with, yeah. So I guess we do have some
- 30:31context for like why is she marrying this?
- 30:33Guy Yeah, it seems like a lot of pressure.
- 30:35A lot of pressure. And oddly enough, like she just
- 30:37really wanted to get married. Yeah.
- 30:40Which I get like you want the security and safety of like the
- 30:43commitment of the relationship, but like we go back to that part
- 30:47of it. It's like she needed she needs
- 30:48some like self love too, because she really.
- 30:50Does. If you really loved yourself, I
- 30:54mean, I mean, I've been there. Where you, there's a girl.
- 30:58We've been there. I've been there.
- 31:00In that moment, it's like you don't need to be with him.
- 31:02What you need to do is like, love yourself.
- 31:04Get a spin, get a spine. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 31:07Get a spine. Gross, Gross.
- 31:09Fine. Keep.
- 31:11Keep that spine. Keep the spine intact.
- 31:13Yes. Yeah.
- 31:15More upright and light upright. Yeah, yeah.
- 31:17Get in your solar plexus and period.
- 31:20That's exactly what I was going to say.
- 31:22I know. OK, I think that it was really
- 31:27sweet that Robbie also really wanted to get married.
- 31:31Like, you don't see that. Like that's part of why he was
- 31:33such a cool character. He was the opposite of fun.
- 31:36I love seeing a straight man who can't wait to plan a wedding.
- 31:42It was so cute. It was so cute.
- 31:44Remember I came from the scene where they're still planning her
- 31:47wedding and he like takes her to the photographer, that Lady, and
- 31:50then they have like pretend they're like brother and sister.
- 31:52That was so funny. And then like they bite each
- 31:55other. Yeah.
- 31:58I love that. I love that too.
- 32:00There were so many times when I was a little kid where like, my
- 32:03friends and I would be like, let's lie to people and say that
- 32:06we're siblings. For what?
- 32:08I don't know, but it was funny. It was funny.
- 32:11It is funny. I know I I, I agree.
- 32:14Well, yeah, it is funny. And you feel like so naughty.
- 32:17When you know, you're like, ha, ha, ha, ha.
- 32:18What a what a lie. They believe me.
- 32:23That's crazy. Oh, God.
- 32:28OK, a couple of things that maybe didn't age so well.
- 32:33Very, you know, just like in passing things that they drop,
- 32:37there's a joke about Tourette's, a little bit of fat shaming, you
- 32:42know the. Kid because like all the adults
- 32:44have been talking about like how he's going to go crazy and he's
- 32:47still in the psych. Ward Yeah.
- 32:48Oh yeah, that that too. But then.
- 32:51There was someone else who is like, Oh yeah, he probably has
- 32:54Tourette's, I don't remember. What, the little boy?
- 32:55Because he's like, oh, you're a bitch to Linda.
- 32:58Yeah, he said. The choice, right?
- 33:00Yeah. Yeah, and that's why you have to
- 33:01be careful what you say around. Kids.
- 33:04Which I hate. I hate the kids are listening
- 33:07and repeating after us. Remember what we were talking
- 33:09about at dinner last night with a small child at the table?
- 33:11Girl. Yeah, I don't know what what he
- 33:16heard, but hopefully nothing. Well, we'll find out in a few
- 33:20years, won't we? Or we'll find out from his
- 33:22teacher. His teacher will say, oh, you'll
- 33:24never. Guess yeah what he was What?
- 33:26He said. I did about only fans.
- 33:36Yeah, I think that he probably was really into his his movie,
- 33:41his little, his little movie he was watching on his phone.
- 33:44Thank God. Hope so.
- 33:46Hope so. But yeah, yeah, the Tourette's
- 33:49thing. Yeah, OK, a little bit of fat
- 33:52shaming, you know, he's like, oh, you're fat so you won't find
- 33:55love or whatever. Oh, and then the guy at like the
- 34:00the wedding reception gone awry. Yes.
- 34:02Like making fun of the one table.
- 34:05Yeah, it was like the only. Part where like Robbie, his
- 34:07spirit was like. He hurt people hurt.
- 34:10People, his hands are so broken. He really was, but that's
- 34:14because he really, he had to put them down because he had been
- 34:17put down and he was feeling like he was feeling like he belonged
- 34:21at, at Ugly Table 9, you know, And so he had to, he had to
- 34:25really show us a couple of his flaws.
- 34:29Yeah. He's not perfect.
- 34:30He's not perfect, but. Pretty close, pretty close,
- 34:33pretty close. OK, this may be this, this may
- 34:40not be a question that you can answer on the pod, but maybe you
- 34:44can or maybe we can ask it in a hypothetical if you found out on
- 34:49a double date that the that someone was cheating.
- 34:54Yeah. What would you do?
- 35:01I I would tell my friend. Yeah, Yeah, I would tell my
- 35:05friend. OK, good.
- 35:07And that's the correct answer. OK, thanks.
- 35:09Would you also? Well, I did that once and they
- 35:13want they're now married, so that's.
- 35:18You did the right thing. I agree that I did the right
- 35:20thing, but also she wasn't my friend, she was someone who I
- 35:25didn't know. I think maybe she could have.
- 35:27She would have taken it a little bit better if we had known each
- 35:31other. Anyways, congratulations to you
- 35:35guys. Yeah, Mazel, Mazel, you guys.
- 35:38He's definitely still cheating on you anyways.
- 35:42I think that I I don't think I could keep that to myself.
- 35:46No, No. No, we have a conscience.
- 35:49Look, I have a backbone. Yeah.
- 35:52We have spines, I have self love.
- 35:54We we have spines and self love. Yeah.
- 35:58And it's really interesting because Holly, her best friend,
- 36:02cousin, she totally, like, picked up on everything.
- 36:06She was, like, very intuitive to all of the situations going on.
- 36:09And then the different dynamics. I mean, yeah, she did try to,
- 36:14you know, hook up with Robbie. But, you know, girls got needs,
- 36:18too. So I don't blame her.
- 36:20I would have tried to. Oh.
- 36:21My God, of course she was dressed up like Madonna like.
- 36:24Hot. OK, wasn't it like double date
- 36:27insane? Because she was.
- 36:28I was cuddling up to him and trying to feed him and saying
- 36:31like we look like a couple and I'm like.
- 36:33Girl have no chill. She really she really did have
- 36:38no chill which. I I like too.
- 36:40Yeah, she's like, well, I have. To be chilled, she said.
- 36:42Yeah, I know I'm hot. I'm dressed like Madonna.
- 36:45Yeah. And I'm ready to get laid
- 36:47tonight. Yeah.
- 36:48And so she put it out there. Yeah.
- 36:49And good for her. And and they did try to like
- 36:52slut shame her a little bit throughout the little.
- 36:54Bit the movie, everyone was like, Oh yeah, well you fuck
- 36:58everybody or whatever. Yeah, basically something along
- 37:00those lines. She's like.
- 37:02And she and she owned it, she said.
- 37:04Yeah, well, you haven't. Or whatever.
- 37:06Yeah, she owned it and I appreciated that.
- 37:08And I appreciate that, yeah. But I do wish that she had been
- 37:12more more forthright with her cousin slash bestie Julia and
- 37:18been like, look girl. Yeah.
- 37:20You can't marry him. No, you just can't.
- 37:23Just don't do it. She was a little bit too coy.
- 37:26She was. She was dignitized by Robbie
- 37:29before she even slept with him. She was just like too goo Gaga
- 37:32to even pay attention to what was happening to her poor
- 37:34cousin. That's like, also challenging
- 37:37when, like, somebody's about to get married and you are like,
- 37:40oh, because you don't know if, like, what you're going to
- 37:44putting yourself out there to say like, hey, I'm kind of
- 37:46worried about this. Yeah.
- 37:48And maybe if like Julie had gone to Holly instead of her stupid
- 37:53mom, then it would have been a little different.
- 37:58It could have been a little different if she asked for some
- 38:01honesty. Yeah.
- 38:02If she said look, I need to know.
- 38:04Because like, one of the things I think I wrote down because
- 38:06there was a moment where she was like, talking to her mom.
- 38:08Yeah. And she's like telling her she's
- 38:13scared and she's confused and it's like confusion is not
- 38:18something I feel like. There's a lot of things I think
- 38:21you can feel before you make a big decision like that of.
- 38:23Course. But like, I don't you don't want
- 38:26it to be confusion. No, yeah, the idea of like cold
- 38:31feet, I'm like, dude, I don't know if that's really.
- 38:35Yeah. I don't know that we should
- 38:37really be normalizing cold feet. Yeah.
- 38:40Yeah, Jacob certainly didn't have cold feet when he married
- 38:44Miriam. Good you didn't.
- 38:45Good for you. Yeah, Yeah.
- 38:48And. You're it's all good, he says.
- 38:49They're still married. They are still married and still
- 38:52in love. That's on record.
- 38:54Yeah. What's on the He said.
- 38:57It's on the mics. Yeah.
- 39:01I just feel like if you are like, we just normalize the cold
- 39:05feet thing too much, so we need to stop that.
- 39:09If you're feeling OK, if you're feeling like nervous about being
- 39:12perceived by 150 or more people, like.
- 39:16Yeah. You know, a lot of people have
- 39:18stage fright, and I get that. If you feel stage fright, that's
- 39:22different than like, oh, I'm making a huge mistake.
- 39:27But at the same time, once you get there, I know this.
- 39:31OK, So are you good? I'm good.
- 39:37Here's the thing. I'm OK, OK.
- 39:38She's OK. I knew this couple.
- 39:41They are. They are now divorced.
- 39:43But they got in like this huge fight the night before their
- 39:47wedding. And they did not like come to a
- 39:49resolution before the ceremony. Like, the first time that they
- 39:53saw each other after their big blowout fight was, in fact, at
- 39:57the altar. Yeah.
- 39:58And not only that, but her, her mom and dad were split up.
- 40:04He had an affair with somebody. And they, like, basically had,
- 40:08like, a new family. Yeah.
- 40:10And Mom and dad had not seen each other since the divorce.
- 40:14And mom had never met his new family.
- 40:17It all happened at the wedding. Were you at the wedding?
- 40:20I was there. Are they still married?
- 40:22Oh, no, they're divorced. No, they got, they got divorced
- 40:25like a year later. But this was when I was still
- 40:27drinking. My dad and I got really drunk at
- 40:30the wedding and well, I mean, OK, my dad was like a little
- 40:33tipsy. I was very drunk.
- 40:34I bet your dad's so funny and cute.
- 40:36Oh my God, he's so funny. His, I mean, his face is already
- 40:39bright red. He gets he's he's a real tomato
- 40:43when he's when he's had a couple too many drinks.
- 40:46So he and I left the reception to go like get some food because
- 40:51we, we had like the drum cheese and my mom was so mad and we
- 40:55were like, excuse, we were like, they're not going to stay like
- 40:59literally what are we even doing here?
- 41:01They they obviously do not like each other.
- 41:05This is obviously one of those like, well, it's too late now.
- 41:08So I just was happily disappointing my mom eating
- 41:14snacks at the bar around the corner with my dad.
- 41:17Shout out Mark Smith. Yeah, have you seen that TikTok
- 41:20video going around? I don't know.
- 41:21You're not as chronically on TikTok as I am.
- 41:24That is true. But it's like.
- 41:26But I'm happy to learn what's going.
- 41:30On in your algorithm, in your culture, there's like a guy,
- 41:34there's something somebody's videotaping these vows that are
- 41:36taking place as this couples getting married.
- 41:38And the guy said like you're something about the lines of
- 41:42like, as long as you keep my belly full and my balls empty,
- 41:44we'll be okay. God, what?
- 41:46This is real and like, no, both of their families, grandparents
- 41:51are. I mean, in the audience, isn't
- 41:54that absolutely like just devastating?
- 41:56Okay. I would leave someone at the
- 41:58altar if they said that. Like, there's very few reasons
- 42:01why I would leave someone at the altar.
- 42:03That's one where I would say, actually, you know what, we're
- 42:05going to wrap this up. Yeah, actually.
- 42:08Actually, yeah, I don't. I don't.
- 42:10Yeah. I don't believe that I will do
- 42:12that. No, Isn't that horrible?
- 42:13It's real. It's so disgusting.
- 42:16And someone put that on TikTok and said ha ha ha ha.
- 42:19Well, everyone's like, no, it's good.
- 42:21We're not laughing at it, OK? What do you think the intention
- 42:25of the person who posted it was? Do you think that they thought
- 42:27it was funny or where they like get a load of this guy?
- 42:29There's like. Odd, oddly enough, like a lot of
- 42:31like really like cringy wedding videos out there of just like,
- 42:36Oh my God, you know, like the groom smashing cake in
- 42:38somebody's face. You know, they're being like
- 42:41super drunk and like I. Am so sorry that that is like
- 42:43kind of in your feed right now. It's, it's not I'm, I'm more I'm
- 42:48I'm going in a different direction.
- 42:49She's. Rebranded.
- 42:50Yeah, I'm so glad. But like that one, those that
- 42:55vow like really was like really disturbing.
- 42:59God, yeah, that. You know who would say that?
- 43:03Glenn? Yeah, Glenn would say that.
- 43:06Yeah. And her mom.
- 43:07And you know what his mother-in-law would be like?
- 43:09Ha ha ha ha. Yeah, why doesn't she just?
- 43:13I mean, where's the dad? She just.
- 43:14Fucked right off. Yeah, but the I mean like her
- 43:17dad's not in it. The picture, I don't remember.
- 43:20I don't feel like he is. I don't.
- 43:21Think Huh. OK, anyway, maybe she's pushing
- 43:26her daughter to do something she wished.
- 43:28She maybe she's projecting. Maybe she's she hasn't done her
- 43:33inner child. No, she certainly hasn't.
- 43:35Certainly has not no A1 thing that I forgot to mention right
- 43:39up top that I think really makes a difference is that Carrie
- 43:43Fisher was brought in to help kind of make the female part of
- 43:47the script more balanced. And I think you can really tell
- 43:51like this movie compared to sorry, a lot of Adam Sandler
- 43:55type movies like she really is an interesting character.
- 44:02She's not just like, she's not just like a piece of grade A
- 44:05meet like. No, like the rest of the girls.
- 44:09Oh God. So I didn't know that that's so.
- 44:11Interesting. Isn't that cool I also didn't
- 44:13know that. How progressive.
- 44:14I know, right. The the writer of the film
- 44:18actually was kind of like kind of aware that some of Adam
- 44:24Sandler's previous work lacked what we might call a, a woman's
- 44:28perspective. Sure.
- 44:30And so he was like, OK, we've got to make Drew Barrymore's
- 44:36character as interesting and like as likable as possible.
- 44:41And they found that the test audiences really didn't care
- 44:44that that Adam Sandler wasn't in every scene because there was
- 44:49more of a balanced cast. And I think that the women in
- 44:52this movie did have a little bit more.
- 44:54I mean, it's not like she's this deeply complex character, but.
- 45:00That's true because we had like more of like her home life.
- 45:02We had his home life and social life.
- 45:04Yeah. No, it wasn't just one sided.
- 45:07OK, that's so interesting. I know, right?
- 45:09Yeah. And the director was friends
- 45:13with Adam Sandler since they went to NYU, and he was
- 45:17inspirienced by his own heartbreak a few years earlier.
- 45:21And I think that's beautiful. I do, too.
- 45:23Turn your heartbreak into art. Yeah.
- 45:26You know, yeah, that's what we're doing today.
- 45:31But the director was also a big fan of John Hughes and, like,
- 45:34you can totally tell. Oh, yeah.
- 45:36You know, yeah, it's very like. Well, it's it's takes place in
- 45:43the 80s. Yeah.
- 45:44I think he really loved that. A real nod.
- 45:46A real nod to the. You know what else I really
- 45:49loved? I think like there's like two
- 45:52things that like happened in the beginning of the movie and two
- 45:55things that happened at the end. They're like kind of sandwiched
- 45:57it all. And then one was like Steve
- 45:59Buscemi's character came back as the wedding singer for their
- 46:03wedding. So funny, which I love.
- 46:05Self-taught. And also there was like, think
- 46:08about Billy Idol in the beginning of the movie and I
- 46:10don't remember what it was, but and then at the end, which I
- 46:15think the best scene of the whole entire movie is on the
- 46:17airplane. Oh my God, are you kidding of?
- 46:20Course, that was incredible. And Billy Idol, amazing.
- 46:24And then Shanna Moakler, did you catch that, Molly?
- 46:27I did catch that, and she's kind of in the zeitgeist right now
- 46:31because of Relevant Alabama. Yep.
- 46:34Alabama Barker Yep. S Mama, Mama, Mama.
- 46:38She's Mama. She's Mama.
- 46:40She was really good in this. I just like never seen her
- 46:43literally in anything else. Yeah, I I haven't either,
- 46:46honestly. But and then I guess her and
- 46:49Billy Idol have dated. Yeah, there's history.
- 46:52There's a history there. But I loved that scene.
- 46:55Oh my God, It was so good. It was so good.
- 46:59And like that. It's just like, I think in that
- 47:02moment where he got on 'cause like, obviously Julia's like
- 47:05sitting in this, in this airplane seat next to Glenn.
- 47:09They're going to Vegas. She doesn't want to do this.
- 47:11Right. It's so weird though that she
- 47:13did like she seemed genuinely excited when she was like, we
- 47:16should just go to Vegas and get married.
- 47:18What? Because she thought he was back
- 47:21with Linda. She thought Robbie was back with
- 47:23Linda. They had a series.
- 47:24Of miscommunication. I know it was a real comedy of
- 47:27errors in that way, a lot of miscommunication.
- 47:30It was, and I get it. I mean, she was trying to psych
- 47:32herself up. She wanted.
- 47:33She, she had, I hate to use the G word, but she did gaslight
- 47:38herself into believing that that's what she wanted.
- 47:41She's like, oh, well, this is what he wants is to be married.
- 47:44Let's just go to Vegas and we'll do it.
- 47:45And he didn't give her the window seat.
- 47:47Yeah, little bitch. Yeah.
- 47:49Fuck that guy. But you already knew when she
- 47:51was like, oh can I look out the window and he was laying over
- 47:54me? No.
- 47:55Yeah. And we already knew that that
- 47:57was like a thing with Robbie and Linda, too.
- 48:00Yeah. So it was just like, but that
- 48:03moment when he comes on the intercom.
- 48:07Oh my God, girl. I was like, this is 13 year old
- 48:12Seth watching it for the first time, thinking like this is what
- 48:14this is what happened. This is what's going to happen
- 48:16when you're an adult. Like these grand romantic
- 48:18gestures are going to be the standard.
- 48:22Or like you're going to be in your late 20s, just like sitting
- 48:25first class on your way to Vegas.
- 48:27What, late 20s? Late, yeah, 30s, you know.
- 48:31I'm sorry, I by that I just mean I'm not buying first class
- 48:34tickets when I go to Vegas. I'm afraid that I'm afraid I'm
- 48:39getting the the cheapest. As long as it's not frontier.
- 48:42Yeah, you know what I mean. Or spirit.
- 48:44Or spirit be like, OK, yeah, we should go to Vegas again this
- 48:47year. Girl, we had so much fun last
- 48:49time. Oh my God.
- 48:49Last so much fun that was last year yeah.
- 48:52Oh my God almost exactly a year ago yeah.
- 48:54Happy early birthday. Thank you.
- 48:55You're welcome. It's.
- 48:56In a it's like in a couple weeks.
- 48:58Yeah, we're getting by the time that this episode comes out, it
- 49:01is going to be almost your birthday.
- 49:02Wow. Wow.
- 49:04Happy birthday. Thank you.
- 49:05You. You're welcome.
- 49:05Thanks. So yeah, we should go back to
- 49:10Vegas. That scene, that scene on the
- 49:12plane is everything. I love a ROM com that ends in
- 49:17like, you know, chasing someone at the airport or like running.
- 49:21After an airport, yeah, an. Airport.
- 49:23Give me an airport. You can just play 911 Airport,
- 49:26you know. Or that song leaving on a jet
- 49:29plane, if that ever plays in a movie or anything.
- 49:32Kind of like referencing. Yeah, anything that is like
- 49:35really obviously. Because it's just like, it
- 49:38mirrors that like sense, like when you're younger and you're
- 49:41so hopeful about love and you think it's going to be this.
- 49:45Yeah. And maybe it maybe it will, but
- 49:47I don't. We'll see, girl, we'll see.
- 49:49But it's also just like, Oh my God, it's just like really
- 49:53pulled at the heartstrings. That's how that's like the
- 49:54perfect ending to the movie. This is the closure you wanted.
- 49:58How do you feel about grand gestures?
- 50:00I love it. I love it, yeah.
- 50:02I want the bigger the better. The bigger the better, baby.
- 50:04Yeah, yeah, as long as like not super public.
- 50:08Oh, OK. Well, that is kind of what.
- 50:09I know I'm like, well, I don't like being saying happy birthday
- 50:12in a restaurant. That's why I was surprised when
- 50:15you just said the bigger the better.
- 50:16Yeah, but it's grand gestures. But.
- 50:18Grand gestures in private. Yeah.
- 50:22You want him to say I wrote you a song and then just kind of
- 50:25play it for the two of you? Yeah.
- 50:27Yeah. OK.
- 50:27I see. So you want it to be grand, but
- 50:30not with an audience? No audience, OK?
- 50:32No. Yeah, that's terrifying to me.
- 50:35I'm not a Leo like you, Molly. Sorry, and I'm sorry for you for
- 50:40that. Wait, aren't you a Leo?
- 50:43I am, yeah. You are, Yeah.
- 50:45I would have girl, you know I would have corrected you if you
- 50:47got that wrong. OK so basically this movie aged
- 50:55great ROM com ROM com hide stand up like this movie.
- 51:02It is so feel good. It really made.
- 51:04OK. So I will say in the past 24
- 51:07hours, I have watched perhaps one of the most diametrically
- 51:11opposed movies. I watched A Woman Under the
- 51:15Influence last night, famously one of the saddest movies that
- 51:20has been made. And then and then today, I had
- 51:24such a great palate cleanser starting my day watching The
- 51:27Wedding Singer. Yeah, Yeah.
- 51:29Really is. So it really was.
- 51:30And of course, clocked in at 90 minutes.
- 51:33Yeah. You gotta love that.
- 51:34I know. I loved how.
- 51:35Short it was. Yeah, they wrapped it up.
- 51:38It was refreshing. Sometimes I just want to be
- 51:41entertained and I was 100% entertained.
- 51:43By me too, me too. So my my opinion is it aged very
- 51:49well. I think so too.
- 51:51One other thing I was going to ask you is when you go to a
- 51:54wedding, do you prefer a live band or a DJ?
- 52:01Well, if it was like him, I would have prefer him.
- 52:03Oh well, of course. Yeah, it's kind of a DJ because
- 52:06then you get all the original songs.
- 52:07Right. You're not.
- 52:09I mean, it's probably unlikely that your live band is going to
- 52:12play Yeah by Usher. And if they do, it's going to be
- 52:14kind of like. Their own spin on their own.
- 52:17Spin. And I'm not sure I need kind of
- 52:18an interpretive remix. I don't know that I need, like,
- 52:22no. Daniel from Southern California
- 52:26to be singing ushers. Ushers.
- 52:28Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:29No, I agree totally. Thank you.
- 52:33But a live band really does. Like, it really does amplify the
- 52:37event. Yeah.
- 52:38In a real way. Yeah.
- 52:39Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of energy.
- 52:41A lot of energy. But of course, it's got to be
- 52:44good. Yeah.
- 52:46And that's a risk. I always know that.
- 52:48Yeah. By Usher is going to be good.
- 52:50I don't always know. I mean, obviously, hopefully
- 52:53before you book somebody for for a gig, you know that they're
- 52:56good. But, yeah, but like in this era,
- 52:59they couldn't just like, look up that person's Instagram and be
- 53:03like, OK, what's the vibe? Yeah, look at some reels, look
- 53:06at some videos. They're just like, oh, I know
- 53:08this guy who's a wedding singer. We didn't talk about what's that
- 53:13one actor. Who is the other wedding singer?
- 53:17Not John Belushi. Oh, Jon.
- 53:19Levitt. Jon Levitt.
- 53:20Oh, my God. Wait.
- 53:22I loved that scene. That that's his name, right?
- 53:24I Yeah. Jon Levitt.
- 53:27I know, I know. It's Lovett.
- 53:30Jon Levitt. Yeah, I think it's Jon Lovett.
- 53:33Jon Lovett. Oh, that's.
- 53:37Lovet's Jon Lovett's. OK, Jon.
- 53:40OK, Jon Levitt is an act or an author.
- 53:44Oh, OK. Who was it?
- 53:45Oh love, Are you thinking of Love it or leave it?
- 53:48That guy anyway, doesn't matter. Doesn't matter.
- 53:51Jon Lovitz was the other wedding singer, and he was funny.
- 53:54That was so good. I think he's so ridiculous.
- 53:57He's so silly. I saw him in person once on
- 54:01Rodeo Dr. Oh, really? Yeah, I did.
- 54:04I was like very young. The only thing I knew him from
- 54:07was Rat Race. Do you remember that movie?
- 54:09No. Oh, it's, well, it's not good,
- 54:12but maybe we'll do it for the pod one day.
- 54:14Yeah. Not me, but not you, but
- 54:17somebody else who can, who can withstand it.
- 54:23OK, the thing that really ages well about this movie is it did
- 54:26set the scene for 51st dates. I sometimes see this, I I kind
- 54:31of see this as a prequel. Yeah. 251st dates, you know?
- 54:34Yeah. Really set the scene from the
- 54:36groundwork and like they laid the groundwork.
- 54:39Anything else that we need to discuss about the movie before
- 54:41we get into some games? No, I just think listen to the
- 54:45soundtrack. The soundtrack is so good.
- 54:48Yeah. Amazing.
- 54:50Great video. Killed the radio star past the
- 54:52Dutchie. It's great.
- 54:53Are you in your 1980s nostalgia? Yes, I am now in the This movie
- 54:58did that for me. And God bless.
- 55:01Thank you. Why did I write at the end?
- 55:05Rosie. Oh yeah, Rosie.
- 55:08She's a real one, that old lady. Oh my God, he loved her.
- 55:11She's like. I know where you're going.
- 55:13Yeah, and the. Meatballs.
- 55:16Yeah, and. That that was really sweet.
- 55:18She knew Rosie knew Rosie knew. Oh, she saw it.
- 55:22Everyone could see it. Everyone could see it.
- 55:24Which is why I'm like why didn't?
- 55:27Yeah. Why didn't someone say look?
- 55:30Yeah. Make it happen.
- 55:31Yeah. If I was there, you know, I
- 55:35would say, look, make it. Happen, yeah.
- 55:38OK, SES, I think that as we discussed yesterday, you said I
- 55:44have opinions and I need to get a mic in front of me to discuss
- 55:47this. So, so typically on the show, we
- 55:51play a game of cancel or call back where listeners send us
- 55:56trends from the past for us to discuss.
- 55:58We could call this the past because it was the recent past
- 56:01of, I don't know, five days. But I think that we do need to
- 56:06discuss celebrities in space and girl bossing in space.
- 56:11Yeah, yeah. It's not giving what they're
- 56:14think, it's what they think it's giving.
- 56:16And that's so hard to see when someone thinks that they're
- 56:19giving something that it's really kind of giving the
- 56:21opposite. They literally think they did
- 56:23the most inspirational, groundbreaking thing for women,
- 56:26right? Since like women's suffrage.
- 56:28They said we're changing things for women.
- 56:30What? How?
- 56:31Well, how all you did was spend money.
- 56:33Please tell me how, how? Tell me how.
- 56:36Last night I got on like TikTok that it's like it was a hoax or
- 56:39like conspiracy that they actually didn't go to Spain.
- 56:42Oh my God, I would love that. I would love it.
- 56:45I was I. Had a friend send me some videos
- 56:47because it's like weird how like the doors like all.
- 56:52Are you on that side of TikTok? OK.
- 56:54Hopefully you will be now. Yeah, now that we've said it out
- 56:56loud, yeah, we've spoken. It like a spaceship.
- 57:00Listen, I don't know anything about any of this look, but I
- 57:02don't know anything open out. And at first this one went in
- 57:07this door before Jeff Bezos, like, put a wrench in it and
- 57:11open it. And it just like, all looked so
- 57:12fake and weird. But what I am not enjoying is
- 57:16that Katy Perry has found a way to, like, be condescending about
- 57:23her level and ability to hold so much love.
- 57:27And, like, you don't really know how much you can love until you
- 57:31leave it all on Earth. Yeah.
- 57:33And it's like, wow. You did it and it does.
- 57:35That mean, but that's also like kind of like in the vein of like
- 57:37when people say like you don't really know love until you have
- 57:40a child and it's like. And it's like, fuck you.
- 57:43You think I don't know? Whoa.
- 57:46Like, maybe that's like, I don't, you know, I don't want to
- 57:50get like too much into this, but I'm also like, OK, you didn't
- 57:53feel love for other people until you had a child.
- 57:55That's like fucked. Up.
- 57:56Yeah, that's all fucked up. Girl, if you have to go to space
- 58:02to feel anything, girl but like. Her whole attitude, I was like,
- 58:07wait, what? What did she say?
- 58:09Is something outrageous like we went up to space to createspace
- 58:13or some shit? Oh my God, girl.
- 58:14There's enough space in space. It's infinite.
- 58:17And we don't need to create. You know what we don't need to
- 58:19do? Createspace.
- 58:20There's plenty we've got there. Yeah, we've got it.
- 58:23And then Gayle King like Oh my God.
- 58:27Gayle King. Girl, I've always liked her
- 58:29until now. Same.
- 58:30Yeah, I'm. Talking about male.
- 58:32Or whatever she's on I when I was a little shed.
- 58:36Like there's themselves astronauts.
- 58:38They're calling themselves astronauts.
- 58:39Guess what? That job already exists.
- 58:41Yeah, you have a job, Gayle King.
- 58:43And it you sat somewhere and went somewhere that doesn't like
- 58:46mean that you. Mean you're a scientist and
- 58:50like, being in entertainment is a great job.
- 58:53Like, yeah, you're on the news, Yeah.
- 58:55You're. Appreciate that you're Oprah's
- 58:58friend, quote UN quote. That's friend.
- 59:00And the lines allegedly, allegedly, allegedly.
- 59:05Look, when I was a little kid, we had this DVD box set of like
- 59:10Oprah's. It was, it was like an
- 59:12anniversary box set or something where Oprah was just looking
- 59:15back and I would say 50% of it was about her friendship with
- 59:18Gayle King. So since I was a little kid, I
- 59:21was like, yeah, go off, girl. Love you.
- 59:23Yeah, love. That love.
- 59:25That love, love, you know, a girl's girl.
- 59:28But yeah, I'm afraid that if you are simply just ravaging the
- 59:34earth for a girl boss moment, I'm afraid you're not a girls
- 59:39girl. No.
- 59:41Because girls, girls want to sustain a an earth.
- 59:45Well, it's like read the room. Read the girl damn room.
- 59:50That is the. Problem.
- 59:51All of them like I just like I am.
- 59:53And I would love to hear from one person who was like, I was
- 59:57super duper inspired by this. Like, wow, yeah.
- 1:00:01Listener, if you were one of those people.
- 1:00:03Yeah, I'm like, where aren't they?
- 1:00:05I don't get, I don't get why, how this is supposed to be
- 1:00:08inspirational, especially for women.
- 1:00:10How? I literally get it.
- 1:00:13I don't. I literally are we stupid?
- 1:00:15I just don't get. It, I don't get it.
- 1:00:17But you know what? Here's my theory.
- 1:00:19I think that many people get to a level of fame and power and
- 1:00:23wealth that they are only surrounded by people who say, Oh
- 1:00:27my God, that's a great idea. They don't have they?
- 1:00:29Don't keep anyone keeping them grounded.
- 1:00:32No, you know, and like, God bless Oprah and Gayle King's
- 1:00:36quote, UN quote friendship, but I think they'd both be better
- 1:00:39off if they had somebody who was maybe a little bit more normal,
- 1:00:45you know, a childhood friend maybe to say, girl, yeah, this,
- 1:00:49this isn't, this is not going to age well.
- 1:00:52It's, you know, I don't know, it's just like, what were they
- 1:00:55expecting? It was literally like 10 minutes
- 1:00:58and then and there's just like a video of like Katy Perry.
- 1:01:03Holding a flower Flower. And it I saw, I can't take her
- 1:01:07out. I saw this TikTok that was
- 1:01:08really funny. But it was like, why isn't she
- 1:01:10like looking at Earth? She's looking.
- 1:01:12At a flower? Guess what, girl?
- 1:01:14There's plenty of those on earth that you're that you left.
- 1:01:17You want to get more of those? Go back.
- 1:01:21Looking down at Earth and seeing what that experience is like.
- 1:01:24Yeah. I, the whole thing, I just, it's
- 1:01:27insane. If you want to inspire me like
- 1:01:31donate $1,000,000 to a food bank.
- 1:01:34Like. Taylor Swift, yeah.
- 1:01:38She said it. Yeah.
- 1:01:39Yeah. Exactly.
- 1:01:41That's inspiring. That's redistribute your.
- 1:01:43Wealth, and maybe I'll say. Oh, that's cool.
- 1:01:45Make the world a better place. Don't.
- 1:01:47There's so many. NASA.
- 1:01:48There's so many tangible things that you can do to make the
- 1:01:51world a better place. Start other.
- 1:01:53People to women in space who are astronauts and actual astronauts
- 1:02:00women in. And.
- 1:02:02Women in STEM. You know what?
- 1:02:03While you're at it, Katy Perry, why don't you uplift women in
- 1:02:07STEM? Yes.
- 1:02:09Girl that that clip of her being like I love astronomy and
- 1:02:13astrology and like Oh my God, Pythagorean theorem of it all or
- 1:02:19something. What?
- 1:02:22It's like girl word salad. She get wrapped into this too.
- 1:02:27Like how did Katy Perry even get into this?
- 1:02:30I. Think that it started with
- 1:02:33women's world I think that when she the.
- 1:02:35Biggest. Flop, the biggest flop.
- 1:02:37I think that, she said. World.
- 1:02:39I wanna, yeah, I wanna get out of here.
- 1:02:41Yeah, we all want you to get out of here, women.
- 1:02:44That was like literally the worst song.
- 1:02:47Oh my God, I know what a fucking.
- 1:02:49Nightmare. But like, was it like Lauren
- 1:02:53Sanchez that like got this group together or what was?
- 1:02:57That what blackmail do they have on these?
- 1:03:00Do you think that maybe they were all like bamboozled into
- 1:03:02it? Like if you don't go to space or
- 1:03:05pretend to go to space like will, what will out Gayle King,
- 1:03:09allegedly. Allegedly but but I know Katie
- 1:03:14has a lot of stuff on her. Girl, she's a she's a blind eye
- 1:03:17on celebrity, I'll say that. Based on the Beyond the Blinds
- 1:03:20episode. Absolutely.
- 1:03:22That we've listened to. Shout out to try another
- 1:03:25podcast. Yeah.
- 1:03:27That. Yeah.
- 1:03:28Women in podcasting. Yeah.
- 1:03:29And Troy? Yeah.
- 1:03:31Yeah. That was I just I, I I don't get
- 1:03:35it. I don't get it.
- 1:03:36What inspires you, Molly? What would have inspired you for
- 1:03:39women you to see somebody do? If it was as a woman, as a woman
- 1:03:43speaking on behalf of all. Women just as a woman.
- 1:03:46Strictly, yeah. OK.
- 1:03:47So if it's related to space, I would be really inspired by, I
- 1:03:53don't know, some sort of like legislation that says we should
- 1:03:58be exploring space not for world domination or Galaxy domination,
- 1:04:04but maybe just for like, scientific research.
- 1:04:07That'd be cool if they like, you know, yeah.
- 1:04:11Like as if aliens aren't out there.
- 1:04:12Like as if. As if.
- 1:04:14Like it's not already happening, but as if.
- 1:04:16As if we don't already know. Other parties out there, you
- 1:04:22know what I mean? Girl, I just so know what you
- 1:04:24mean. You know what I would love to
- 1:04:27see? I would love to see a group of
- 1:04:32celebrity women just riding public transit, just riding the
- 1:04:36bus, making public transit cool again, yeah.
- 1:04:40You know, like Sarah Jessica Parker do that.
- 1:04:42Oh, absolutely. Do you think she does?
- 1:04:44I think that she does, yeah. I think that she likes to be
- 1:04:46recognized, which, honestly, I would too.
- 1:04:47Yeah, I would love to be recognized on the subway.
- 1:04:50I was re listening to the Julia Roberts podcast episode of
- 1:04:54Beyond the Blinds recent recently, as in last night.
- 1:04:58That. And she doesn't want people
- 1:05:02talking to her like at all, but she doesn't mind just because,
- 1:05:06you know, there's like people that are like, I don't want
- 1:05:09anyone to look me in the eye. I don't want, you know, like I
- 1:05:11don't want them looking at me or talking to me.
- 1:05:14She's like, she does not care. People stare.
- 1:05:16She just you can't talk, but you can look, look all you want.
- 1:05:19She said she want eyes on me with no no talking.
- 1:05:23And honestly, yeah. Do you feel the same way, Molly?
- 1:05:26Of course. Are you a Julia Roberts?
- 1:05:29I think I am where I'm like, you can look, but keep you can keep
- 1:05:32your mouth shut. Just kidding.
- 1:05:36If you do recognize me in public, I swear to God, please
- 1:05:40come up to me and say, Oh my God, I love your work.
- 1:05:42Yeah, I love your work. I I love your work.
- 1:05:44I love your hair. Yeah.
- 1:05:46Happy birthday in advance. Molly loves all of those things.
- 1:05:51And I do. But if I was famous, famous, I
- 1:05:57think I would really, I would really be fine with people
- 1:06:01looking, but I I don't know if I would want people like coming up
- 1:06:06to me when I'm in the middle of a conversation.
- 1:06:08Type thing? What?
- 1:06:09A restaurant. Not that I would blame those
- 1:06:12people, but just like it seems like there's a really, there's a
- 1:06:16sweet spot for fame where you can still, like, go out and live
- 1:06:19your life, be recognized, but not be bothered too much.
- 1:06:23Yeah. Yeah, I'd like to achieve that.
- 1:06:26Yeah. I'd like to achieve an early
- 1:06:27happy birthday from strangers who, you know, may not know me,
- 1:06:32but appreciate my work. Yeah.
- 1:06:34Yeah, it'll happen, Molly. Thank you so much.
- 1:06:36Yeah. OK, Also, you had a brilliant
- 1:06:41idea again. She's full of them.
- 1:06:43Brilliant, Brilliant. When I heard you, when you were
- 1:06:46like, this might be dumb, I was like, OK, first of all, that is
- 1:06:49a crazy thing to say because this is such a good idea.
- 1:06:54OK. So we need to discuss a little,
- 1:06:56we have a little segment, a little corner for who's
- 1:06:59targeting you right now. On Instagram, on Instagram or ad
- 1:07:03wise? Yeah, and, and for the
- 1:07:05listeners, none of this is this is not an ad.
- 1:07:09No, not an ad. So SAS, I'd like to know who is
- 1:07:12targeting you? What's your who?
- 1:07:16Who's coming after you? Creatine.
- 1:07:18Creatine. Yeah, girl, do you take
- 1:07:20creatine? Do you?
- 1:07:23No. Do you?
- 1:07:27All I get are ads for creatine. Yeah, that's it.
- 1:07:31That's. Creatine and NAD plus, which is
- 1:07:35like, what is that? It's like a B vitamin.
- 1:07:38It's like a it has a couple different vitamins in it and OK
- 1:07:44nad plus OK, so I've actually bought that and I just started
- 1:07:48taking it this week OK, great, but the creatine it's left and
- 1:07:52right it's powders, it's gummies, it's it's pills it's
- 1:07:56insane. Sarah and I actually talk about
- 1:08:00all the time she gets targeted heavily for creatine as well.
- 1:08:04They. Know that, but they know that
- 1:08:05she has a peloton. Yeah, so.
- 1:08:07And then maybe that's how I got into.
- 1:08:08That because you have a peloton, right?
- 1:08:10No, no I don't. Maybe it's just your association
- 1:08:12with Sarah, they said. Anyone in the circle of Peloton?
- 1:08:16Girls, let's infiltrate this, let's infiltrate this.
- 1:08:19This friend group, this couple will have pelotons.
- 1:08:22Yeah, it's crazy. Wow.
- 1:08:23It's all I get if I open up my phone right now.
- 1:08:26That's all you would see still. And I even listen to like an
- 1:08:31hour and a half long scientific podcast about creatine and what
- 1:08:35it and I'm like, I think I need to start taking it.
- 1:08:38Oh my God. You gotta start small though,
- 1:08:39like small doses. Why is that?
- 1:08:41Because you have to do like a couple like under 5 milligrams,
- 1:08:46I think, OK. Because if you go up you it's
- 1:08:49really to build like muscle and gain weight and I don't want to
- 1:08:52do that. Sure.
- 1:08:53So we know why. So what are the pros?
- 1:08:56What are the benefits? Not that not that gaining weight
- 1:08:58and gaining muscle is a yeah is is a con, but what would be the
- 1:09:02pros for you? Well.
- 1:09:04It'll, it helps with aging because it's like building
- 1:09:07muscle and tissue and that which is something that goes when you
- 1:09:12get older. That's like one of the first
- 1:09:14things to go. So you want to have like good
- 1:09:16muscles and it also can help with brain and bone health as
- 1:09:21well. We need our our bones, our
- 1:09:24brains and our muscles to live. We.
- 1:09:28Need them to be strong. We need them.
- 1:09:29So you know who You know who should have taken creatine?
- 1:09:33Julia because she doesn't have no backbone.
- 1:09:36Yeah. Is that like a mic drop?
- 1:09:39No, it wasn't. Certainly not.
- 1:09:43Like, was that supposed to be that funny?
- 1:09:45Fuck off. It wasn't supposed to be that
- 1:09:47funny. It was just a little ha ha, I'm
- 1:09:50sorry. I'm never welcome back here.
- 1:09:56It wasn't supposed to be that funny.
- 1:09:58Now I feel like I have to defend like, OK, I didn't think it was
- 1:10:00that funny. OK, good.
- 1:10:04I thought it was a little funny. It was.
- 1:10:06It was a little funny. It was always supposed.
- 1:10:08To be a little funny, I wasn't expecting like, ha ha ha ha.
- 1:10:10I was expecting maybe a smile, maybe a chuckle.
- 1:10:14I'm. Sorry, they just started to such
- 1:10:19a Dick. No.
- 1:10:21And she, you know, she could have used that, she could have
- 1:10:24used such serious. Or therapy.
- 1:10:26Yeah, or therapy. OK, so creatine.
- 1:10:30I'm I'm going to look into it I. Know yeah, okay, so you're
- 1:10:34looking into it. Yeah, well, I'm and I'm staying
- 1:10:36at Laurae House and her partner recently moved in or like in the
- 1:10:40process. He for sure takes creatine.
- 1:10:42Right. And I opened up like because I
- 1:10:43was making coffee and like looking for a mug creatine
- 1:10:46everywhere. So I thought maybe this is my
- 1:10:48chance to dip my toe in. Yeah, you know who we need to
- 1:10:53get on the mic is Greg to find out his experience with
- 1:10:56creatine. But you know what?
- 1:10:57I'll circle back, listener. I'll circle back.
- 1:11:00It's just a creatine episode. No, I you know what I actually
- 1:11:04get targeted a lot on on TikTok like because of like a year and
- 1:11:11a half ago, I worked with a brand that was kind of like
- 1:11:16Wellness adjacent. It was like these little, these
- 1:11:20little like energy shots with Macha.
- 1:11:23And so I did that like, you know, for a very short time a
- 1:11:26long time ago. And now on TikTok, I get invites
- 1:11:31from all of these wacky brands that are like this supplement.
- 1:11:36I've actually gotten one from like creatine.
- 1:11:39I'm like I'm. Yeah.
- 1:11:41What am I supposed to do? Like shake up a shake up a
- 1:11:44smoothie on on the mic? Yeah.
- 1:11:46ASMR. Yeah.
- 1:11:47No, I love ASO. I know that you love it, but
- 1:11:51what a what a departure from my brand.
- 1:11:53That would be my personal brand. Seriously, Can you imagine?
- 1:11:57No, like Molly is like, you're not known as like a gym brat.
- 1:12:01I'm really not known as a as a gym brat and I certainly would
- 1:12:05not be caught dead in CrossFit. Yeah, well, that's a little.
- 1:12:09Wow, sorry. I mean, that's a little sorry.
- 1:12:12That was a little harsh. I'm now just, I'm feeling a
- 1:12:16little bit on the defense, a little bit defensive, but.
- 1:12:23Maybe that would be a good way to like try it, you know?
- 1:12:26I mean, to get it for free, yes. I mean, exactly just like how
- 1:12:29happening, Yeah. Just like absolutely just like
- 1:12:34getting get it for free from Greg, just like you got that can
- 1:12:39of tuna for free at Laura's house.
- 1:12:45Wow. Anyways, I have been actually.
- 1:12:48What are you getting targeted with?
- 1:12:50Oh, yeah, OK. Thank you for thank you for
- 1:12:52bringing us back. Yeah, I have been getting
- 1:12:54targeted, I think because I've been buying dresses for
- 1:13:01weddings, like bridesmaid dresses.
- 1:13:03OK. I have been getting so many
- 1:13:05targeted ads that are like alternatives to bras, just like
- 1:13:12like boob content, like the like pasties.
- 1:13:14Yeah, like the pull it up. Yeah, totally.
- 1:13:16And there is this one, there is this one brand that I see.
- 1:13:20I see this woman about 8 times a day putting these like putting
- 1:13:26these like cups into her, like on her boobs into her shirt.
- 1:13:30And like, I am considering it because like, you know, it's
- 1:13:35hard to they don't really think when they design dresses.
- 1:13:39Like how are what are the big boob girls going to do?
- 1:13:43They don't really think about that.
- 1:13:44Yeah. But yeah.
- 1:13:46So. Go to Seoul on 6th Ave.
- 1:13:51Store of lingerie. OK, they have.
- 1:13:54They have what I'm looking for. OK, Yeah.
- 1:13:56And shout out if you want to sponsor the podcast.
- 1:13:58Yeah, I will bear it all on. No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:14:02So will I, I'll show it off Just.
- 1:14:05Kidding. Just kidding.
- 1:14:07Just kidding. Just kidding.
- 1:14:09Other things that I have been getting a lot of targeted ads.
- 1:14:13Well, this is so boring. No one's going to care about
- 1:14:16this. But I am looking for a new
- 1:14:17couch. So sure.
- 1:14:20Hello. Hello.
- 1:14:21We have some awesome onlookers. Anyways.
- 1:14:26Yeah. Didn't mind that onlooker.
- 1:14:32You said you, she said. You can look, but don't talk to
- 1:14:34me. Don't you come in here.
- 1:14:36Don't you talk to me? But you can.
- 1:14:38Stare at me, but you can look. Yeah.
- 1:14:41OK. Yeah, I'm looking for a new
- 1:14:43couch. So OK.
- 1:14:44I just get tons joy. Bird getting those ads.
- 1:14:48I also they know that I have dogs based on the stuff that I
- 1:14:51buy of course. So like everything that I'm
- 1:14:53getting targeted is like for your nasty ass dogs.
- 1:14:57Oh, and there's like things that go across your couch that like,
- 1:15:01lay across. Exactly.
- 1:15:02Yeah, I get those. A lot.
- 1:15:03Those a lot. Creatine 90% of the time.
- 1:15:07That is so. Funny and then like dog stuff
- 1:15:09the other 10%. Yeah, I love it.
- 1:15:13Yeah, me too. Sweet spot.
- 1:15:16It's it's really our sweet spot. Well, I think that we've had
- 1:15:21about enough, don't you? That enough of myself talking.
- 1:15:27I think we've had about enough talking.
- 1:15:28You can look, but you cannot talk anymore.
- 1:15:30And some what we say to each other today.
- 1:15:33Cecily, thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 1:15:36Thank you for having me Molly, My God and everyone go watch The
- 1:15:39Wedding Singer. Go watch it if you want to feel,
- 1:15:42feel good if you want to feel. Happy You want to believe in
- 1:15:44love again? Yeah.
- 1:15:46Did it help you with that? With believing in love.
- 1:15:49Or did you already believe in it?
- 1:15:51I think that it did help me believe in love.
- 1:15:54OK? I think that I sort of was, you
- 1:15:56know, I was sort of starting to catch on, like, maybe it's not
- 1:15:59all a conspiracy. Sure, maybe.
- 1:16:01Love what? Yeah.
- 1:16:02Yeah. And then this movie really said
- 1:16:04to me, no, I think maybe it could be real.
- 1:16:07Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:16:09Oh yeah. Oh, bending our hearts.
- 1:16:12We're in our Whitney Whitney Wild Rose Hilling journey.
- 1:16:15Yeah, we are for. Sure, for sure really are right
- 1:16:18Well, everybody be sure to follow at did that age well on
- 1:16:21Instagram and did that age well pod on TikTok bye.
