SUBMISSIONS-RECOMMENDATIONS · Apostle Joshua Selman

• 0:00
Speaker 1: It just did what I was going to do.
• 0:02
Speaker 2: Now together this afternoon, let's welcome together on the way
• 0:07
from a Budja, our possle, Josh.
• 0:13
Speaker 3: Ourself, Allelujah, praise the name of the Lord. Please allow
• 0:24
me stand on the existing protocol. For the sake of time.
• 0:28
I honor our father and the Lord Babawai okay and
• 0:31
every father here represented. May the Lord bless you in
• 0:35
the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you more sincerely for
• 0:40
this great privilege that has been given. For these few minutes,
• 0:44
I pray that God will help us in the name
• 0:47
of Jesus. Can we lift our hands to heaven in
• 0:49
one minute and just cry onto the Lord to speak
• 0:53
yet again to our hearts. In addition to all that
• 0:57
we have heard and learned, let's pray that God will
• 1:00
speak to our hearts. You can never get enough of
• 1:08
the world. There is always room for more. In Jesus' name,
• 1:15
we pray. Please, you may be seated. I'm not really
• 1:20
preaching for sake of time. This is not the kind
• 1:23
of platform to preach. I just want to make a
• 1:27
few submissions within the time that I have as a contribution.
• 1:31
By the way, hearty congratulations to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
• 1:37
I think one more time, let's give God a big
• 1:40
hand clap for his good hand.
• 1:43
Speaker 1: Allelujah a man. So, I sort of just.
• 1:49
Speaker 3: Want to state, maybe make a few submissions that I
• 1:53
believe would hopefully be a meaningful contribution in our desire
• 1:59
to make progress and to advance.
• 2:04
Speaker 1: I trust that God will help us in the name
• 2:06
  of Jesus Christ.
• 2:08
Speaker 3: Now, Revelations chapter three and verse twenty two, the Bible
• 2:13
says he that hath an ear. It says, let him
• 2:17
hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. The Holy
• 2:22
Spirit is always speaking, and according to scripture, he speaks expressly.
• 2:28
And I believe that at every major prophetic milestone that
• 2:36
a man or a ministry, a vision covers, God comes
• 2:39
  in to bring commendations.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: He comes in to bring rebukes.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: It comes to bring in a new chapter to that
• 2:48
  person's life or that organization.
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: In Revelations chapter.
• 2:52
Speaker 3: Two, when you read from verse one to eleven, you
• 2:56
find out interestingly that in speaking to the seven churches beginning,
• 3:03
you know, with the Church in Ephesos, he commended them
• 3:08
on a few things. We don't have the time to
• 3:10
do a long read on that or you may want
• 3:12
to write for reference Revelations Chapter two, from verse one
• 3:16
to eleven. He began by commending them on the great things,
• 3:20
the ability their stamina to stand, you know, and resist falsehood,
• 3:25
and so on and so forth. But then he lovingly
• 3:28
brought a few observations that he suggested that they make
• 3:34
  amendments over.
• 3:36
Speaker 1: And that's the model I want to use very quickly.
• 3:39
Speaker 3: So I'm just going to do a long read, just
• 3:42
as a letter, if you want to call it. And
• 3:45
I titled this to the Church in Nigeria. Now, the
• 3:49
truth is that like a father and the Lord, Papoetico said,
• 3:53
and then you know, Pete Daniels came and made a
• 3:57
very strong prayer point on that we have seen the
• 4:00
hand of God over the Nigerian Church. In truth, there
• 4:03
is no generation without voices who have been raised by
• 4:07
God to speak His purposes. We have spearheaded revivals and
• 4:13
campaigns across the globe right from this nation. And to
• 4:17
God be the glory for all of this. These things
• 4:20
are worthy of commendation. Nigeria has literally exported and is
• 4:24
still in the business of exporting the Gospel in its
• 4:28
various dimensions, beginning from our domain, all.
• 4:31
Speaker 1: Across Africa, spreading across.
• 4:33
Speaker 3: Europe, you know, down to the Middle East, and literally
• 4:37
  across the globe.
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: Allelujah.
• 4:40
Speaker 3: Now, but there are few challenges, and I want to
• 4:42
just point out quickly within the time that I have,
• 4:45
so that I don't stretch us beyond the time allotted.
• 4:50
A few years ago, the Lord led me to preach
• 4:53
a message called the Purified Church, and in that message
• 4:57
I listed by the Spirit seven what would call seven
• 5:03
deadly scenes that the Lord would want to purify from
• 5:06
the Church. And as a way of humbly presenting these challenges,
• 5:13
I'm hoping that as I run through the list, it
• 5:16
would give us a reason to trust God for grace
• 5:19
as we forge ahead to look very closely.
• 5:21
Speaker 1: I'm going to least them very quickly.
• 5:23
Speaker 3: Number one, that the Lord would want the church to
• 5:27
access grace and to rise above It is a subject
• 5:31
of immorality, and by the word immorality, it is beyond
• 5:36
  just sexual immorality.
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: It attempts to.
• 5:39
Speaker 3: Capture every kind of moral perversion from sexual immorality, pornography, masturbation,
• 5:47
and every kind of Antichrist practices as far as the
• 5:51
moral uprightness of believers are concerned, There's no hiding the
• 5:55
fact that these are challenges that have plagued the Church globally,
• 6:00
and our nation has not been spared of such. And
• 6:02
we are praying that this has an observation that God
• 6:06
will grant grace so that men and women will rise
• 6:09
above the grip of sin. On these wise, you believe
• 6:12
that shout Amen. Number two very quickly. The loss for
• 6:16
money and material things. Now there is a striking difference
• 6:20
  between prosperity and materialism.
• 6:22
Speaker 1: I will not go into that.
• 6:24
Speaker 3: The Church that is victorious and most remain victorious must
• 6:28
conquer the lost and on guarded appetite for money and
• 6:34
material things, especially using the standard of money and material
• 6:39
things as the ultimate standard to portray spirituality. While prosperity
• 6:44
and material increase is captured in the Bible as one
• 6:48
of the benefits for the believers, we must not make
• 6:52
it become the pie vote and the measure of true spirituality.
• 6:56
Number three witchcraft and extra biblical practices. It's a sad reality,
• 7:02
but there is a growing need to examine our principles
• 7:06
and practices, particularly on the pulpit, with reference to the
• 7:10
ordinances that were presented to the church from Jesus by Jesus.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: And practiced by the early apostles.
• 7:18
Speaker 3: The Church has been plagued with all levels and all
• 7:21
shades of extra biblical practices and sometimes direct practices that
• 7:27
from the lens of scripture qualified to be called witchcraft.
• 7:30
Number four Pride, vain, glory, and self centeredness. This is
• 7:37
one area that has truly plagued the Church. And unfortunately,
• 7:41
I make a very humble submission that this has become
• 7:44
a cancer to my generation of preachers, the cancer of
• 7:48
pride and vain, glory and self centeredness. Number five the
• 7:54
sine of the tongue. I call it everything from lying, gossiping, backbiting,
• 8:00
and the sowing of the seeds of discord. As simple
• 8:03
as and as harmless as this may look, it has
• 8:07
destroyed the body of Christ. It has brought dishonor and
• 8:10
  reproach to us.
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: As a people.
• 8:13
Speaker 3: And there is need to obtain grace from God, to
• 8:16
trust God to rise above these limitations. Number six the
• 8:21
scene of competition and on healthy comparison. Competition and on
• 8:27
healthy comparison. This has even advanced to creating on healthy
• 8:33
cabals and sometimes cult like structures. And I tell you
• 8:37
the truth, there is no future for a people. There
• 8:40
is no future for any territory that will want to
• 8:44
leave practicing not there's a place for loyalty and honor,
• 8:48
but the moment it becomes ac cult like, then it
• 8:51
  is destructive.
• 8:53
Speaker 1: Prays the name of the Lord very quickly.
• 8:56
Speaker 3: Number seven is the sin of imbalance, exaggeration of truths
• 9:03
or communicating truths beyond the boundary of their relevance. The
• 9:07
Bible talks about the whole counsel of God. And while
• 9:11
we commend the Church for the great strides for this far,
• 9:15
we must come to an honest, acknowledgment. Of all these things,
• 9:18
I run the least one more time, very quickly. Number
• 9:21
one immorality in all of its expressions. Number two, the
• 9:26
loss for money and material things. Number three, witchcraft and
• 9:31
extra biblical practices on the pulpit and across our assemblage.
• 9:37
Number four, pride, vainglory and self centeredness.
• 9:41
Speaker 1: Number five, the sine of the tongue.
• 9:43
Speaker 3: Number six, competition and unhealthy comparison of men of structures.
• 9:49
Speaker 1: Seven the danger of imbalance.
• 9:52
Speaker 3: Now, very quickly, let me talk about another major issue
• 9:55
that I think is worth considering. I call it doctrinal issues.
• 10:00
There is no greater time. I think in the church
• 10:03
age where we have a widespread confusion as to our
• 10:07
doctrinal stands, and I'm hoping and praying with all due
• 10:11
respect as a submission, that the Perfen would be able
• 10:15
to consider creating a platform that brings stability to the
• 10:21
things that the Bible says are most surely believed. Everything
• 10:25
we believe as believers has been challenged. Everything literally, the
• 10:30
foundational pillars of the Christian faith are being threatened and
• 10:33
challenged across the globe doctrinal issues. There is a growing confusion,
• 10:39
especially among younger believers, as to what is really to
• 10:43
  be believed.
• 10:44
Speaker 1: Everything has been challenged.
• 10:46
Speaker 3: Another issue that we need to look at that is
• 10:48
worth considering is the issue of division and disunity.
• 10:52
Speaker 1: I mentioned that early on, but let me just truce
• 10:55
  it a bit.
• 10:57
Speaker 3: We need to manage our appetite for you know, headship
• 11:03
and fraternities so that we don't begin to behave like a.
• 11:07
Speaker 1: Lot of occultic societies.
• 11:09
Speaker 3: It matters that people are given the liberty to serve God,
• 11:13
but then we must be very careful with the subject
• 11:16
of cabals and cams, disunity and divisions. This is by
• 11:22
no means downplaying the achievement of the church. These are
• 11:25
humble submissions using this platform in a bid to improve
• 11:30
ourselves and firge further onto perfection. One other area very
• 11:35
quickly that I'll talk about within the time that I
• 11:37
have is what I call the inefficient management of zeal
• 11:42
and may I request our attention for one moment. This
• 11:45
is particularly to my generation of ministers. There is what
• 11:49
we call the inefficient management of zeal. This has led
• 11:54
to widespread communication of dishonor, this honor to fathers, dishonor
• 11:59
to conc temporaries. Right now, there is a growing trend
• 12:03
within the Body of Christ where this honor looks fashionable.
• 12:07
People have spiritualized lack of manners, and just because we
• 12:11
quote scriptures around it does not make it right. There
• 12:15
is a lot of mismanagement of zeal allelujah, and I'm
• 12:21
hoping and praying that God is going to grant grace
• 12:25
all over social media. You find, in fact, quite honestly,
• 12:31
it has even become a human right violation issue now
• 12:36
and as simple as it sounds, if this is not addressed,
• 12:39
past us will start killing themselves.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: The level of growing hatred in the Body.
• 12:45
Speaker 3: Of Christ and everything is credited to our love for Jesus.
• 12:49
Speaker 1: That's not a model we find in Scripture. Allelujah.
• 12:52
Speaker 3: We cannot love Jesus too much to kill one another
• 12:56
has proof that we love him. Something is wrong with
• 12:58
our understanding, something is wrong with our zeal. I make
• 13:02
a humble submission, and this may sound funny, but among
• 13:06
many recommendations that I wrote here, I am not sure
• 13:09
that I will have the time to present them.
• 13:11
Speaker 1: One of it is to truly examine the mental state
• 13:16
  of ministers.
• 13:18
Speaker 3: It looks like a very subtle issue, but there is
• 13:21
a need to examine the mental state of pastors. Many
• 13:27
pastors have spiritualized trauma, trauma from childhood, and we come
• 13:33
on the pulpit and turn it into salmons. These things
• 13:36
is not just an issue of pray and fascin. There
• 13:39
might be need to bring in professionals and look carefully
• 13:43
as to whether or not preachers are fit to serve
• 13:47
upon the pulpit. I have one minute my apologies that
• 13:53
I do not do justice to the.
• 13:55
Speaker 1: Things that I want to say, but there.
• 13:57
Speaker 3: Needs to be I'm still speaking about the inefficient management
• 14:00
of zeal. One of the things we learn from Scripture
• 14:03
about authority is that authority must also have jurisdiction. You
• 14:09
do not have the right to speak about everything everywhere
• 14:12
anyhow because of zeal. Again, it's an appeal, particularly to
• 14:17
my generation of ministers. There is this unguarded passion where
• 14:22
  we sustain credence from wherever.
• 14:25
Speaker 1: We talk about all kinds of things.
• 14:27
Speaker 3: When you read the Epistle of John, John said, I
• 14:30
write to you fathers, I write to you young men.
• 14:35
I write to you children. There are letters that are
• 14:38
for fathers. Children should not read that letter. There are
• 14:42
letters for young men, and there are letters for children.
• 14:46
Speaker 1: By the time children.
• 14:47
Speaker 3: Begin to read the letters for fathers, they become arrogant
• 14:51
and they become discouraged. There are letters for fathers, there
• 14:56
  are letters for young men.
• 14:58
  Speaker 1: There are matters.
• 14:59
Speaker 3: Within the body of Christ that children are too small
• 15:03
to address. No matter the level of spirituality, it is arrogance.
• 15:09
Speaker 1: I write to you fathers.
• 15:11
Speaker 3: There are issues that only fathers can speak about.
• 15:15
Speaker 1: There are issues for young men. There are issues for children.
• 15:19
Speaker 3: Now, because we do not understand the jurisdictional component of authority,
• 15:23
everybody is doing everything and we credit it to the
• 15:27
  Holy Spirit.
• 15:28
Speaker 1: There is a way the Holy Spirit leads.
• 15:30
Speaker 3: Let us not make a mockery of his wisdom and
• 15:33
  his leadership.
• 15:40
Speaker 1: My time is up.
• 15:43
Speaker 3: Please allow me just for two minutes if I make
• 15:46
a quick request. I have tabled a few recommendations, and
• 15:50
please let me just run it in two minutes and
• 15:54
then I'm out of your face.
• 15:55
  Speaker 1: Number one.
• 15:56
Speaker 3: My first recommendation and a humble submission to the Pentecostal
• 16:00
Fellowship of Nigeria, is that a structure be created and
• 16:06
made available were preachers with all kinds of moral feelings
• 16:12
can have a safe heaven to open up and have
• 16:15
an opportunity to be healed without being destroyed, without being demoralized.
• 16:20
Provided the church is in place, there are people who
• 16:24
will fall, there are people who will rise. The campaign
• 16:27
of celebrating the falling of our soldiers will ultimately destroy everybody.
• 16:32
  Speaker 1: There must be.
• 16:32
Speaker 3: A structure where wounded soldiers can find it safe heaven.
• 16:37
They can be spiritually rehabilitated and brought back into the system.
• 16:43
Recommendation number two that is, structure be created so that
• 16:55
all those who are indirect antagonism to the principles of
• 16:59
the Scripture. There is no point watching people betray the
• 17:03
name of Christ indefinitely. We must have the courage to
• 17:07
with maturity call those people and if need be, engage
• 17:11
in a meaningful scriptural discussion. Because for as long as
• 17:16
we allow evil to thrive because we are looking for peace,
• 17:19
it will eventually destroy the body.
• 17:21
Speaker 1: Somebody must have the courage.
• 17:23
Speaker 3: There are people in wide spread practice of sale, with
• 17:28
due respect witch craft another extra biblical practices. The fathers
• 17:33
and those who are instituted by the authority, they have
• 17:36
the credence to lovingly call such people and say, would
• 17:40
you want to re examine this practice from the lens
• 17:43
of scripture. We will be surprised how many people got
• 17:47
into their confusion, not because they were evil. They were
• 17:50
like the lady with the spirit of divination. And if
• 17:53
they have a better chance, they can come out of
• 17:56
some of those practices. Recommendation number two number three quickly,
• 18:01
I wrote here that the PFM, in conjunction we say
• 18:04
can and every other major Christian body should create a
• 18:09
recommended material documenting the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith.
• 18:15
What does the Nigerian Christian believe. It's important that this
• 18:20
is spelled out because the generation that is coming is
• 18:24
in clear confusion right now. Everything you bring as a
• 18:28
doctrine is a subject of debate.
• 18:30
Speaker 1: The fathers are transitting gradually.
• 18:32
Speaker 3: It's important that a spiritual council come together and define
• 18:37
for Nigeria as a spiritual recommendation, what.
• 18:41
  Speaker 1: Do we believe.
• 18:42
Speaker 3: The Bible calls them the things that are most surely believed.
• 18:45
While we may not agree on everything, it's important to
• 18:49
define the things that define a Christian. Finally, I want
• 18:59
to re commend that, hopefully, in conjunction with all other institutions,
• 19:06
a dedicated institute be raised so that pastors who never
• 19:11
had an opportunity to be trained but are currently in ministry,
• 19:15
they don't have to give up ministry, but a system
• 19:18
be created to train them. The more people are trained,
• 19:22
the more they reflect Christ. Most of the you know,
• 19:26
the madness and childishness on the altar, sometimes it's not
• 19:30
a demonic attack, is a reflection of the lack of training,
• 19:34
and these things can be corrected. I'm training the name
• 19:36
of Jesus that, in addition to all that the Lord
• 19:39
has done this forty years, that these humble submissions will
• 19:43
help to improve the pfin and the body of Christ.
• 19:46
Speaker 1: The Lord bless you in Jesus' name. Let's appreciate a
• 20:00
Processame man. Can we rise? We can do better. It's
• 20:05
such a powerful world. From the Toronto Greace. God bless you, sir,
