- 2:32Speaker 3: I'd hope to have Chris or Jeff on the show today,
- 2:34Speaker 3: but apparently that's not gonna happen. But there was news
- 2:38Speaker 3: out of Putnam County that a county commissioner there has resigned.
- 2:42Speaker 3: We've got the story posted about it on WCCHS network
- 2:45Speaker 3: dot com. Steve Dewese, former sheriff, has announced his resignation. Again,
- 2:49Speaker 3: we do have the story about that posted on WCCHS
- 2:52Speaker 3: network dot com. Time allows, we'll get into that a
- 2:54Speaker 3: little bit more later on the show. Do you want
- 2:56Speaker 3: to welcome in though our good friend Millie Snyder from
- 2:59Speaker 3: the Shape Shop. Millie, good morning, how are you.
- 3:00Speaker 5: I'm wonderful, thank you. How are you Dad?
- 3:02Speaker 3: I'm doing fine, thank you very much, and happy early Thanksgiving.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Thank you. It's just the next Thursday, which means I
- 3:09Speaker 5: have to go to work and get stuff done because
- 3:12Speaker 5: there's going to be in addition to some friends joining,
- 3:15Speaker 5: my daughter is going to be with us, and my
- 3:17Speaker 5: three grandsons are going to be with me as well,
- 3:20Speaker 5: so they all have great appetites.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Well.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Speaking of going to work, yes, you kind of shocked
- 3:25Speaker 3: some people.
- 3:26Speaker 5: I did with myself, shocked the world.
- 3:29Speaker 3: As Muhammad Ali once said, you and Mhammad Ali have
- 3:32Speaker 3: a lot in common. Okay, so you made the announcement
- 3:35Speaker 3: that you're closing the Shape Shop, I know, do you
- 3:38Speaker 3: know that?
- 3:39Speaker 5: But I know, I know, I know that, and I
- 3:41Speaker 5: must tell you that it's bittersweet because I love, I
- 3:45Speaker 5: have loved what I have done for the fifty nine
- 3:48Speaker 5: years that I've been part of Charleston, and I thank
- 3:51Speaker 5: everyone because the outpoor, the outpouring of support for me.
- 3:56Speaker 5: I mean yesterday in the shop, are dining room was
- 4:00Speaker 5: packed with members and several former employees who used to
- 4:05Speaker 5: work for Weight Watchers and talk about pulling on my heartstrings.
- 4:09Speaker 5: All of them certainly made that happen, and I thank
- 4:12Speaker 5: everyone from the bottom of my heart.
- 4:15Speaker 3: So why the decision to close it up?
- 4:17Speaker 5: Well, because I know I don't look at and no
- 4:19Speaker 5: one believes it. But I'm eighty two and I want
- 4:23Speaker 5: to find out what else there is. Now. I'm going
- 4:26Speaker 5: to do some things here because I'm going to been
- 4:28Speaker 5: talking with the colonel, Colonel Ron Hughes that Colonel, Yes,
- 4:35Speaker 5: we're going to do podcasting. I have wonderful stories to tell.
- 4:38Speaker 5: I'm also going to keep doing my Mediterranean group, but
- 4:42Speaker 5: I'm also going to spend some time taking care of myself,
- 4:46Speaker 5: going to a trainer, also going to Lagree and things
- 4:50Speaker 5: that I've never I rarely have time to do. Plus
- 4:54Speaker 5: maybe sleep till seven instead of five. That would be
- 4:58Speaker 5: nice to do some travel. Someone said, are you moving
- 5:01Speaker 5: to Florida? No, because West Virginia is my home, my
- 5:05Speaker 5: adopted home.
- 5:06Speaker 3: You're adopted at home, and I love then. I hear
- 5:08Speaker 3: those stories. And I used to have a good friend
- 5:10Speaker 3: of mine who used to make the comment. He would say,
- 5:12Speaker 3: I'm not from West Virginia. But I got here as
- 5:14Speaker 3: quickly as I could, and I love that term.
- 5:16Speaker 5: And that's good. And to many people, when you know,
- 5:20Speaker 5: they tell me they were born here, I apologize for
- 5:23Speaker 5: not being born here because this is such a wonderful place.
- 5:26Speaker 5: West Virginia and Charleston in particular, is where I grew up.
- 5:31Speaker 5: I got here when I was twenty seven years old,
- 5:34Speaker 5: and may I tell you I knew absolutely nothing except
- 5:38Speaker 5: the fact that I brought weight watchers to West Virginia
- 5:41Speaker 5: and I helped a lot of people improve the quality
- 5:44Speaker 5: of their life. And that's been an ongoing drive for me.
- 5:49Speaker 3: So what's going to happen to the Shape Shop? I mean,
- 5:51Speaker 3: is it just closing?
- 5:52Speaker 5: The shop is closing? Our last day of business is
- 5:55Speaker 5: on Friday. Okay, Someone is going to continue making the
- 5:59Speaker 5: muffin what I am looking for. And I hope there
- 6:02Speaker 5: is a entrepreneurial person listening, or maybe somebody knows of
- 6:06Speaker 5: one to resurrect and keep Dippy Doos alive because they
- 6:11Speaker 5: have a wonderful future. And Dippy Doos are delicious, as
- 6:16Speaker 5: many people know, and we can make them up to
- 6:18Speaker 5: thirty five flavors. But that's a little ridiculous. We do
- 6:21Speaker 5: make them right now in twenty flavors, and they'll be
- 6:25Speaker 5: buying the ice cream machines and everything that goes with
- 6:29Speaker 5: making Dippy Doo's. The only thing they need is a freezer.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Okay, So what do people do if they're interested in
- 6:35Speaker 3: h should contact me? Okay?
- 6:37Speaker 5: Just my number is three four five four one six
- 6:41Speaker 5: one four.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Six Before we move on to anything else. Though again,
- 6:43Speaker 3: that news was kind of shocking. I want to give
- 6:45Speaker 3: you an opportunity, you know, take thirty seconds or so
- 6:49Speaker 3: just to thank people that have patronized Shape Shop over
- 6:53Speaker 3: the years.
- 6:54Speaker 5: And it's been so overwhelming and so heart wrenching because
- 7:00Speaker 5: I've heard from literally everyone seemingly who I've touched since
- 7:07Speaker 5: arriving here. As I said, I think I said fifty nine,
- 7:11Speaker 5: I meant to say fifty six years ago. And when
- 7:14Speaker 5: I told my family I was moving to Charleston, West Virginia,
- 7:17Speaker 5: they couldn't believe it because they never heard of it,
- 7:20Speaker 5: and they thought I said the planet Mars.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Did they give you that? Is it close to Richmond
- 7:23Speaker 3: or And to this.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Very day, somebody says to me, I have a cousin
- 7:28Speaker 5: in Richmond, and my response is I'm happy for you.
- 7:30Speaker 3: That's awesome, but it has absolutely nothing to do with
- 7:33Speaker 3: Charles Virginia.
- 7:35Speaker 5: And I mean, if any if it's possible to love
- 7:39Speaker 5: a place as much as I love Charleston, then I
- 7:43Speaker 5: want to take ownership of those words because it comes
- 7:45Speaker 5: from my heart. And people here have been wonderful to me,
- 7:50Speaker 5: and I thank every one of you. If you're listening,
- 7:54Speaker 5: you have my sincere thanks. And if you're going to
- 7:57Speaker 5: tell somebody else that you heard Melly say this, please
- 8:01Speaker 5: know that it is a genuine expression of my love
- 8:04Speaker 5: for you.
- 8:05Speaker 3: And you're going to be launching this podcast. You and
- 8:07Speaker 3: Colonel Ron are working on that and we'll give you
- 8:09Speaker 3: more information on that. What about the classes, where will
- 8:11Speaker 3: the classes be heaving?
- 8:12Speaker 5: Well, we're looking for a new location.
- 8:14Speaker 7: Okay.
- 8:14Speaker 5: You know, I'm donating my building to West Virginia Health
- 8:17Speaker 5: Right from the front on the back door, and I
- 8:20Speaker 5: am very pleased that I'm in a position to do that.
- 8:23Speaker 5: But they are such an awesome group and they help
- 8:27Speaker 5: people regardless of where they are in life, whether they
- 8:31Speaker 5: have a little insurance or no insurance. They do not
- 8:33Speaker 5: go without medical attention. And all the people who work
- 8:38Speaker 5: at Health Right are all professionals and their time is volunteered.
- 8:43Speaker 5: That's amazing. So I'm adding to that, and it will
- 8:48Speaker 5: certainly enhance the West Side more so than what we
- 8:52Speaker 5: were able to do by having shape Shop there since
- 8:55Speaker 5: well I've been I've been on the West Side since.
- 8:58Speaker 5: So we had the weight Watcher office there. We bought
- 9:01Speaker 5: the building in nineteen eighty five and used it and
- 9:04Speaker 5: used it and used it and used it, and then
- 9:06Speaker 5: we converted it to the Shape Shop in twenty twenty.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Well, Charleston is certainly losing a great, great business. What
- 9:12Speaker 3: about the food truck.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Are you gonna well the food truck if someone else
- 9:14Speaker 5: is buying that, okay, and they're gonna take it out
- 9:17Speaker 5: on the road and find u.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Will it still have shape Shop type stuff at it?
- 9:20Speaker 8: Not?
- 9:21Speaker 3: Well, I don't mean shape Shop specifically, but will it
- 9:24Speaker 3: you will it be healthier options or is it just
- 9:25Speaker 3: going to be don't.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Know what they're going to do, okay, feeling that they're
- 9:29Speaker 5: not going to do healthy okay, But I hope maybe
- 9:32Speaker 5: I'll be surprised. I hope. So they have to get
- 9:34Speaker 5: it rewrapped, okay, because we talk about low calorie, never processed.
- 9:39Speaker 5: I hope people will continue to pay attention to that
- 9:41Speaker 5: because process food is not good for you. It is
- 9:44Speaker 5: not all right, so to become educated.
- 9:46Speaker 3: All right, So next week is Thanksgiving, and I know
- 9:49Speaker 3: you have a what's become a tradition on this show.
- 9:51Speaker 3: You have a little thing that you like to read
- 9:53Speaker 3: about Thanksgiving. But before we get to that, portion control
- 9:57Speaker 3: is what it's all about on Thanksgiving? Right, are you
- 9:58Speaker 3: going to say that?
- 9:59Speaker 9: Just?
- 10:00Speaker 6: I mean?
- 10:00Speaker 3: And when I saying don't have you know what you enjoy,
- 10:03Speaker 3: just don't have as much of it.
- 10:04Speaker 5: And on that day, have breakfast, have lunch, so that
- 10:07Speaker 5: when you sit down to Thanksgiving you are not acting
- 10:11Speaker 5: like you haven't eaten in three weeks.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I got it. And everybody says put on your fat pants.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Don't put on your fat put on your regular pants.
- 10:19Speaker 3: So that way, maybe you'll feel a little bit uncomfortable.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Exactly right. And then after people stuff themselves and they
- 10:24Speaker 5: cannot move and they swear they are never going to
- 10:27Speaker 5: eat again from the kitchen, they hear this word deserve, deserves,
- 10:31Speaker 5: and suddenly they find room in those tight pants.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, so you got something you want to
- 10:37Speaker 3: read for us? This has become a tradition yes on
- 10:41Speaker 3: your final visit before Thanksgiving. So we want you to
- 10:44Speaker 3: go ahead. And Matt Guitar Murphy is our producer day Matt,
- 10:47Speaker 3: I don't know if you've ever had the opportunity to
- 10:49Speaker 3: hear this or not, but oh, it's one you definitely
- 10:51Speaker 3: want to pay attention to, sir.
- 10:52Speaker 5: And I also, this is not my last visit. No,
- 10:54Speaker 5: I'm I'm not leaving. I'm here. I'm just telling you.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Okay, you're here in the new year. Okay, Oh, absolutely good.
- 11:02Speaker 5: So are you ready? It's called black go ahead, Black November.
- 11:08Speaker 5: When I was a young Turkey new to the coop,
- 11:10Speaker 5: my big brother Mike took me out on the stoop.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Then he sat me down and he spoke real slow,
- 11:15Speaker 5: and he told me there was something that I had
- 11:17Speaker 5: to know. His look, in his tone, I will always
- 11:19Speaker 5: remember when he told me of the horrors of Black November.
- 11:23Speaker 5: Come about August. Now, listen to me. Each day you'll
- 11:26Speaker 5: get six meals instead of just three. And soon you'll
- 11:29Speaker 5: be thick where once you were thin, and you'll grow
- 11:31Speaker 5: a big rubbery thing under your chin. And then one morning,
- 11:34Speaker 5: when you're warm in your bed, it'll burst. The farmer's
- 11:37Speaker 5: wife and hack off your head. Then she'll pluck out
- 11:39Speaker 5: your feathers so you're bald and pink, and scoop out
- 11:42Speaker 5: your insides and leave you lying in the sink. And
- 11:45Speaker 5: then comes the worst party, said, not bluffing, she'll spread
- 11:48Speaker 5: your cheeks and pack your rear with stuffing. Well, the
- 11:50Speaker 5: rest of his words were too grim to repeat. I
- 11:53Speaker 5: sat on the stoop like a winged be some meat
- 11:56Speaker 5: and decided on the spot that to avoid being cooked,
- 11:59Speaker 5: I'd have to lay low and remain overlooked. I began
- 12:02Speaker 5: a new diet of nuts and granola, high ruffedged salads,
- 12:05Speaker 5: juice and diet cola, And as they ate pastries, chocolate
- 12:09Speaker 5: and crapes, I stayed in my room doing Jane Fonda tapes.
- 12:13Speaker 5: I maintained my weight of two pounds and a half
- 12:15Speaker 5: and tried not to notice when the bigger birds laughed.
- 12:18Speaker 5: But twas I who was laughing under my breath as
- 12:21Speaker 5: they chomped and they chewed ever closer to death. And
- 12:24Speaker 5: sure enough, when Black November rolled around, I was the
- 12:28Speaker 5: last turkey left in the entire compound. So now I'm
- 12:32Speaker 5: a pet in the farmer's wife's lap. I haven't a worry,
- 12:36Speaker 5: so I eat and I nap. She held me today
- 12:39Speaker 5: while sewing and humming. She smiled at me and said,
- 12:43Speaker 5: Christmas is coming.
- 12:46Speaker 3: This is what could be the fourth year. I think
- 12:48Speaker 3: that you have probably read this on the show.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Loved this story. I used to tell it at weight
- 12:52Speaker 5: Watchers and at my Mediterranean group, and now to you.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Every four years, I've been doing this all right, Thank you, Dave.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I appreciate you being here, Milly.
- 13:01Speaker 5: That's my joy, and thank you for all the time
- 13:04Speaker 5: we've spend together. And you're making me.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Well, you're not going anywhere, You're coming back. You're coming
- 13:10Speaker 3: back next I know.
- 13:12Speaker 5: But I'm still getting a little cheerio.
- 13:14Speaker 6: I know.
- 13:14Speaker 3: And well you're an icon here in Charleston. When they
- 13:18Speaker 3: do the Mount Rushmore of Charleston, I think you should
- 13:21Speaker 3: be up there.
- 13:22Speaker 5: I think.
- 13:22Speaker 3: So we'll put you right.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Up there, and maybe, if they're really kind, they won't
- 13:25Speaker 5: do it with gray hair.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Okay, we'll let you pick the image that Millie Snyder
- 13:30Speaker 3: of the Shape Shop. And the last day in business
- 13:32Speaker 3: is on Friday, twenty seconds, all right, So if you
- 13:36Speaker 3: get an opportunity, folks, swing by the Shape Shop and
- 13:38Speaker 3: give us the address again one final time.

- 16:58Speaker 3: doctor Casey Sachs from the four mentioned Bridge Valley is
- 17:01Speaker 3: on the show tomorrow as well. The slangolo lot to
- 17:05Speaker 3: night Light the Night continues over at Gomart Ballpark. Started
- 17:08Speaker 3: last Friday. It's going to run through the New Year's
- 17:10Speaker 3: Night every night except for Christmas. I at Rod black
- 17:14Speaker 3: Snow Toastmaster is here. Do you do holiday toast?
- 17:17Speaker 8: Rod?
- 17:17Speaker 3: I mean, is there something like the Christmas theme that
- 17:18Speaker 3: you can do for toast?
- 17:20Speaker 13: Usually that's just the hot chocolate that has something in
- 17:22Speaker 13: it that I'll raise it last with, Hey guys, a
- 17:25Speaker 13: mug for it. But yeah, no, no official toasting, no
- 17:27Speaker 13: official We're not throwing toast around the ballpark.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Okay, all right, all right. Also, like the champagne toast,
- 17:32Speaker 3: thank you.
- 17:33Speaker 10: That could work.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Yeah, we could do a totally different time type post.
- 17:37Speaker 13: H So an eggnog with Ameretto over at the ballpark
- 17:40Speaker 13: during the Light to Night too, with the rowdy shock.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Just so you know, just so you know, that other
- 17:44Speaker 3: voice you hear is Gailey Miller from AARP. Gayleen, good morning,
- 17:47Speaker 3: Welcome to the show.
- 17:48Speaker 5: Good morning.
- 17:49Speaker 3: All right, So the slangolo Light to Night started last
- 17:52Speaker 3: Friday night. From what I understand, it's been absolutely fantastic.
- 17:56Speaker 3: But one of the things that I've talked about this
- 17:58Speaker 3: because you know, the Dirty Bird sponsored the show, so
- 18:00Speaker 3: every day I can come in here every day and say, well,
- 18:02Speaker 3: here's what tonight is and here's what tomorrow night is
- 18:05Speaker 3: over at the ballpark for Life to Night. But I
- 18:07Speaker 3: think it's easier just to kind of direct people to
- 18:09Speaker 3: the social media or to the website or so on
- 18:11Speaker 3: and so forth. But I did want to have you
- 18:13Speaker 3: guys in because there's something really really special though that's
- 18:16Speaker 3: going on with AARP. Talk about that either one of
- 18:19Speaker 3: you just jumping there.
- 18:20Speaker 14: So last year, we recognize that people with mobility issues
- 18:26Speaker 14: may have not been able to enjoy the festivities at
- 18:29Speaker 14: the ballpark, and so after the holidays, we sat down,
- 18:34Speaker 14: we started talking about it, and so we've come up
- 18:36Speaker 14: with a solution. We think so folks who may have
- 18:39Speaker 14: some difficulty getting around seeing the two and a half
- 18:43Speaker 14: million lights.
- 18:44Speaker 13: Two and a half million lights, Yeah, Virginia.
- 18:46Speaker 14: They'll be able to enjoy them this year, even though
- 18:50Speaker 14: they have some mobility issues.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Okay, so what are we doing.
- 18:53Speaker 13: Here, Well, we have two golf carts that we're going
- 18:56Speaker 13: to have that are going to run cycles from from
- 19:01Speaker 13: every edge of the concourse all the way out to
- 19:03Speaker 13: left field, around to center field, and then down the ramp,
- 19:07Speaker 13: the center field ramp onto the field and then maybe
- 19:10Speaker 13: out to the train station. That's the plan, and have
- 19:12Speaker 13: two golf carts during the course of the evening that
- 19:15Speaker 13: we'll be running those opportunities and be able to take
- 19:20Speaker 13: up to three passengers at each time to be able
- 19:23Speaker 13: to get folks around and maybe get them get folks
- 19:26Speaker 13: down to the train which is on the field. The
- 19:28Speaker 13: train is on the field this year, sort of running
- 19:31Speaker 13: along the outside for the most part, but sometimes going
- 19:34Speaker 13: through it. That was another issue that came up last year.
- 19:36Speaker 13: And actually this came up when ARP was at the
- 19:40Speaker 13: ballpark last year for a volunteer dinner party, a celebration,
- 19:45Speaker 13: a holiday celebration, and we kind of noticed and I'd
- 19:48Speaker 13: heard about it also as I was taking tickets last year,
- 19:51Speaker 13: and Andy Shay had gotten that feedback too. It is
- 19:54Speaker 13: handicap officially handicap accessible. To get into the ballpark, it
- 19:58Speaker 13: is not so much to get down to the field.
- 20:00Speaker 13: It is possible, and people can take the elevator. If
- 20:04Speaker 13: they're in wheelchairs, they can take the elevator down inside
- 20:07Speaker 13: the building, down and out through by the clubhouses, or
- 20:11Speaker 13: they can walk around or wheel around a center field
- 20:14Speaker 13: and go down that ramp, which is not officially an
- 20:16Speaker 13: ADA ramp. It's a ramp so you can have access
- 20:19Speaker 13: to the field. It wasn't built as an ADA ramp,
- 20:21Speaker 13: so that was one of the observations it was made.
- 20:24Speaker 13: If you're in a wheelchair, it's kind of hard to
- 20:27Speaker 13: go down that ramp, so it's not easy to get there,
- 20:30Speaker 13: but so we were trying to make it easier. We've
- 20:34Speaker 13: got some help from Nicola Roue at the University of Charleston.
- 20:37Speaker 13: She's with the Occupational Therapy graduate program, and she's got
- 20:42Speaker 13: some students that are going to help us out and
- 20:43Speaker 13: maybe be guideposts for people to say, hey, here's if
- 20:47Speaker 13: you want to do this yourself, here's how I can
- 20:48Speaker 13: get down to the field. And then the golf carts
- 20:50Speaker 13: are a key thing, and we're also going to have
- 20:53Speaker 13: we have a bench in the middle of the walkway itself,
- 20:58Speaker 13: so for people who are ambulatory but Mike get tired
- 21:02Speaker 13: out walking through that may through the amaze and everything
- 21:05Speaker 13: else that's there, then they can sit down and take
- 21:07Speaker 13: a rest. There's one there and then one out by
- 21:09Speaker 13: the play zone and left field. And it all came
- 21:11Speaker 13: up because aarp was there and thinking, you know, we
- 21:15Speaker 13: need to make this even more accessible and more mobile friendly.
- 21:19Speaker 14: Yeah, and it's not just about folks who might be
- 21:22Speaker 14: in a wheelchair. You know, we have I have creaky
- 21:26Speaker 14: knees and so that can cause me some trouble in
- 21:30Speaker 14: terms of how I get around. And I think there
- 21:32Speaker 14: are a lot of folks that have those kinds of
- 21:35Speaker 14: mobility issues and.
- 21:36Speaker 3: It's not always things that you see on the surface, is.
- 21:38Speaker 14: What you're trying to say, right, that's correct, and we're
- 21:41Speaker 14: super excited to have you see as a partner in this.
- 21:44Speaker 14: These graduate students are excited about putting their skills to
- 21:47Speaker 14: work that they've learned, and even though the semester might
- 21:51Speaker 14: end sooner than the event, does I think they're going
- 21:54Speaker 14: to be willing to come back and help us again.
- 21:57Speaker 13: Yeah, And so this is sort of a pilot project
- 22:00Speaker 13: because it came up and we're thinking, all right, how
- 22:02Speaker 13: can we demonstrate that, how can we make this more friendly,
- 22:07Speaker 13: user friendly for people? And so we're taking a look
- 22:10Speaker 13: at it, focusing a lot of issues, a lot of
- 22:12Speaker 13: attention for tomorrow night, and then once we do that,
- 22:15Speaker 13: we'll see how it goes. Now, there is snow in
- 22:17Speaker 13: the forecast. That complicates a little bit. On one hand,
- 22:21Speaker 13: we only had snow one time all the last few years.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Well, but this is not going to be the great
- 22:25Speaker 3: snowstorm Rod. There's just just in the air mainly as
- 22:29Speaker 3: opposed to sticking at least in this area.
- 22:31Speaker 14: Right, we are totally at the mercy of mother nature.
- 22:34Speaker 13: Sure, and it will be more picturesque than any other night.
- 22:37Speaker 13: That's one of the things I noticed we were talking
- 22:38Speaker 13: about that earlier, that the one time at snowed last year,
- 22:41Speaker 13: when the snow happened, you saw a little bit of
- 22:43Speaker 13: a surge of activities. People thought, Hey, this is the
- 22:46Speaker 13: chance to get that picture or those pictures.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yes, I told when I actually last week when I
- 22:50Speaker 3: had Andy Sheay and I had Ben Selango on the show,
- 22:52Speaker 3: we were talking about that about I said, now, mark
- 22:55Speaker 3: my words, if you get snow, even if it's just
- 22:57Speaker 3: a couple of flurries in the air, so it's or
- 22:59Speaker 3: maybe just a little bit on the on the on
- 23:01Speaker 3: the infield turf, always say infield grass, but on the
- 23:03Speaker 3: infield turf or whatever that you're gonna have more people
- 23:06Speaker 3: probably come out because it just kind of adds to
- 23:08Speaker 3: the ads, to the whole ambiance.
- 23:10Speaker 13: Absolutely, it's it's a visual thing to begin with, so
- 23:12Speaker 13: the snow makes it that much more visual for the holidays.
- 23:14Speaker 13: But I gotta thank AARP is a great community partnership.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 14: Well, not to be a Debbie downer, but the snow
- 23:20Speaker 14: could deter some folks who have mobility, is yes, Okay, Well,
- 23:24Speaker 14: but we hope they come out, they hope, we hope
- 23:27Speaker 14: they'll try, and.
- 23:28Speaker 13: They'll make it as easy as possible for them under
- 23:30Speaker 13: every circumstance.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Absolutely, talking again with Gayleen Miller from AARP and Rod
- 23:34Speaker 3: Blackstone about light the Night the AARP, that may just
- 23:38Speaker 3: make it a little bit more accessible for those of
- 23:39Speaker 3: wan who enjoy the Lights over at Go ball Park
- 23:41Speaker 3: is part of the Selango Law Light the Night the
- 23:43Speaker 3: Dave Island showing five Any Live broad to part by
- 23:45Speaker 3: Generations Physical Therapy offering concussion care, pre and post operative rehab,
- 23:49Speaker 3: fall prevention, water therapy, women's health workers comp and more.
- 23:53Speaker 3: And they are the experts in treating back and neck pain.
- 23:55Speaker 3: For an appointment three zero four, seven, six zero fifty
- 23:57Speaker 3: six to sixty or visit Generations p TA. So let's
- 24:01Speaker 3: talk about you know, I thought about this earlier because
- 24:04Speaker 3: I was someone to talk to Solango and Shay last week,
- 24:06Speaker 3: which you know, sounds like like a maybe a detective
- 24:10Speaker 3: agency or something. When I talked to Selango and Shay
- 24:12Speaker 3: last week, we were talking about the groups that come in,
- 24:15Speaker 3: you know, and I would think that by making these
- 24:18Speaker 3: somewhat these modifications, if you will, Rod and Gayleen, that
- 24:22Speaker 3: that may encourage more of the elder care facilities to
- 24:25Speaker 3: come in, or church groups or things of that nature.
- 24:28Speaker 13: No, I think that's very true because especially if you're
- 24:32Speaker 13: looking at being able to reach out to some place
- 24:34Speaker 13: like Edgewood Summit or any of the any of the
- 24:37Speaker 13: nursing homes or long term care homes that are around here.
- 24:39Speaker 13: I think that's that does help make it better. And
- 24:43Speaker 13: I think last year, as we were trying to get
- 24:45Speaker 13: everything together sort of not quite flying blind, but pretty close,
- 24:50Speaker 13: it was harder to be able to address the specific
- 24:52Speaker 13: things and the specific needs that came up. And that's
- 24:54Speaker 13: why this is a great community partnership with the ARP.
- 24:57Speaker 13: Gayleen that night was saying, you know, there are some
- 25:00Speaker 13: things that we might want to try to do better
- 25:03Speaker 13: to help people get around and using the train to
- 25:06Speaker 13: help people get around at that point, and so that's
- 25:09Speaker 13: that's how it became sort of the vision is now
- 25:11Speaker 13: becoming a reality. But you're you're absolutely right, and I
- 25:13Speaker 13: think that's one of the things gives me an idea
- 25:16Speaker 13: that we need to coordinate that when we set other
- 25:18Speaker 13: dates for additional mobility friendly nights, then I think we'll
- 25:23Speaker 13: try to target some of those folks too. And I
- 25:25Speaker 13: thought it was a happy coincidence the read that you
- 25:27Speaker 13: just made for another sponsor that's dealing with occupational physical therapy.
- 25:31Speaker 13: It'd sponsored the show Generation's Physical Therapy General. We might
- 25:35Speaker 13: be able to get them to go partnership in the future.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Well, there you go.
- 25:39Speaker 14: Rod's always thinking, always.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Think, always looking for partnership, always thinking man, always thinking,
- 25:44Speaker 3: how's everything gone so far? I had, as I said
- 25:47Speaker 3: on opening night, I had the folks on last week,
- 25:49Speaker 3: but overall Rod has thing's been going over to light
- 25:51Speaker 3: the night.
- 25:52Speaker 2: So far, so good.
- 25:52Speaker 13: The weekend was pretty strong and it was a lot
- 25:55Speaker 13: of people coming out and it was pretty nice weather
- 25:57Speaker 13: last night was a little rain is what really is
- 26:00Speaker 13: or the thing that is a DeBie downer, Yeah, because
- 26:03Speaker 13: the Roses called that cold, that cold November rain, you know, yeah,
- 26:06Speaker 13: and it was. It wasn't too cold, but it was rainy.
- 26:09Speaker 13: And that's I noticed that last year a lot of
- 26:11Speaker 13: times whenever it rained, the crowd was a little bit depressed.
- 26:14Speaker 13: But still we had one hundred and twenty thousand people
- 26:16Speaker 13: even with a few rain showers last year, and last
- 26:20Speaker 13: night a few hundred that came out still and that figured,
- 26:24Speaker 13: you know, this is a good time to see it,
- 26:26Speaker 13: and went and and weather the rain. So rain can
- 26:30Speaker 13: can depress the crowd a little bit, but it's still
- 26:33Speaker 13: a great place to be and it's amazing visually. I
- 26:35Speaker 13: mean I noticed that last week when I did my
- 26:37Speaker 13: first walk through. You can tell the difference that the
- 26:41Speaker 13: extra five hundred thousand lights.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Just the extra few, you know, yeah, an extra few,
- 26:46Speaker 3: five hundred thousand lives that they've added this year. Well,
- 26:48Speaker 3: you know, I know, and especially as we get after
- 26:50Speaker 3: Thanksgiving and next week is a lot when you have
- 26:52Speaker 3: it's the busiest travel day of the year, they say
- 26:54Speaker 3: on Wednesday, So a lot of people that may live
- 26:56Speaker 3: out of state are going to be coming in and
- 26:58Speaker 3: everybody's going to gorge themselves on turkey, and they're gonna
- 27:01Speaker 3: watch football on Thanksgiving Day. But after by Friday, they're
- 27:05Speaker 3: gonna be sick of their family and they want to
- 27:07Speaker 3: get out of the house.
- 27:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 13: And you'll also have the sort of tag teaming with
- 27:10Speaker 13: the City and Holly Jolly Brawley and Capital Market going on.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and you got that going. I mean, it's just
- 27:15Speaker 3: so many things. And I mentioned somebody the other day
- 27:17Speaker 3: before we let you guys go. December the fifth, you
- 27:20Speaker 3: got the Trans Siberian Orchestra show over at the Cottle's
- 27:24Speaker 3: Seeming Convention Center. You got the Charleston Christmas Parade, you
- 27:27Speaker 3: got Holly Jolly Brawley. You've got Light the Night, which
- 27:30Speaker 3: is continuing. If there's one single night to be in Charleston.
- 27:35Speaker 3: It may be December the fifth, because that's when everything
- 27:37Speaker 3: is going to be going on in Charleston related to Christmas.
- 27:39Speaker 13: We'll have five hundred thousand people in the city.
- 27:42Speaker 3: That's that's what we're hoping for. Hey, Galen, hats off
- 27:44Speaker 3: to AARP for seeing this need and helping some of
- 27:47Speaker 3: our folks to be able to enjoy the lights as well.
- 27:49Speaker 3: And Rod you always you and the folks that the
- 27:51Speaker 3: Dirty Birds always do a great job, great community partners.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Big shout out to the folks at the University of
- 27:55Speaker 3: Charleston too for because none of this happens, none of
- 27:58Speaker 3: these things with light, the Knight, Holly, Jolly Brawley, whatever
- 28:01Speaker 3: is going on, none of it happens without buying from
- 28:03Speaker 3: the community. And we get the best people in the
- 28:05Speaker 3: world here in the Kenawa Valley.
- 28:06Speaker 13: And ARP made the UC connection too.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, guys, appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot,

- 31:27Speaker 3: we finally got to figured it out. High school sports
- 31:30Speaker 3: and high school playoffs in West Virginia. They games are
- 31:32Speaker 3: gonna start Friday run through the weekend. Fred and I
- 31:35Speaker 3: will talk about that a little bit later on. Only
- 31:37Speaker 3: the first name on the door will change is Chris
- 31:40Speaker 3: Warner will be taking over for brother Mac as the
- 31:42Speaker 3: Secretary of State of West Virginia, the voters making that
- 31:44Speaker 3: decision a couple of weeks ago. Chris Warner joins us. Now,
- 31:47Speaker 3: good morning, sir, welcome to the show.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Hey, thanks David, it's always great to see you here
- 31:51Speaker 6: in studio.
- 31:51Speaker 3: And congratulations on the win. Thank you very much, sir.
- 31:55Speaker 3: It was a resounding victory for you. What do you
- 31:58Speaker 3: think it was, sir, about your message really that the
- 32:02Speaker 3: voter's picked up on, Dave.
- 32:05Speaker 6: I think, first of all, you know, continuing the progress
- 32:07Speaker 6: that Mac has started, that the staff you were a
- 32:11Speaker 6: part of that at one point, working with county clerks
- 32:14Speaker 6: and working with the legislature. I carried that message out,
- 32:19Speaker 6: making sure that it was clear that I was going
- 32:22Speaker 6: to follow the letter of the law as laid out
- 32:24Speaker 6: by the West Virginia Legislature. But I think it was
- 32:27Speaker 6: a matter of consistency and continuation of the excellent work
- 32:32Speaker 6: that's already been started by current Secretary of State Mac Warner.
- 32:36Speaker 6: I think the voters were pretty loud and clear about
- 32:38Speaker 6: who they thought would be best to finish that job.
- 32:42Speaker 3: So I want to because you're kind of in a
- 32:44Speaker 3: unique position here, Chris, because you're a past party chair
- 32:47Speaker 3: of the Republican Party in state of West Virginia. I
- 32:49Speaker 3: want to get away from the office just for a
- 32:51Speaker 3: moment and talk about the Republican Party in West Virginia.
- 32:53Speaker 3: And I've talked about this.
- 32:54Speaker 6: I had JB.
- 32:54Speaker 3: McCuskey on the show yesterday talking about it. I've talked
- 32:56Speaker 3: about with others as well. It is a pretty good
- 33:01Speaker 3: time to be a Republican right now in West Virginia.
- 33:05Speaker 3: And when you look I think that they are going
- 33:08Speaker 3: to study this. I think that the next or the
- 33:11Speaker 3: two or three generations from now, when they look at
- 33:14Speaker 3: the history, even not only in West Virginia, but also
- 33:17Speaker 3: across the country, when they look at political history, they're
- 33:20Speaker 3: going to look back on this as a remarkable time
- 33:22Speaker 3: and a transformation after eighty three years of democratic rule
- 33:27Speaker 3: into a super I've got to come up with another
- 33:30Speaker 3: names super majority, super duper Now it's super duper duper majority. Yeah,
- 33:35Speaker 3: you know, Dave, I started back, you know, right before
- 33:40Speaker 3: the turn of the century. Sounds weird to say that, No,
- 33:43Speaker 3: it does makes me feel really old.
- 33:46Speaker 6: But you know, the one thing that one of the
- 33:48Speaker 6: things I would point to that you know that I
- 33:50Speaker 6: got to be a part of is not only a
- 33:53Speaker 6: county chairman, but then as the state Republican Party chairman,
- 33:57Speaker 6: was realizing that we needed to challenge every single race
- 34:01Speaker 6: in the legislature. When I came on board, we were
- 34:03Speaker 6: not challenging every single race in the legislature, and there
- 34:06Speaker 6: were folks like Senator Capito that you know, then needed help,
- 34:11Speaker 6: and so we made sure that we challenged every seat
- 34:14Speaker 6: in the legislature and things really started to turn at
- 34:18Speaker 6: that point. I know everybody has a different view on
- 34:21Speaker 6: what it took to build the party that we now see,
- 34:24Speaker 6: but that was one of the biggest things. That and
- 34:26Speaker 6: raising money to make sure that they had enough money
- 34:29Speaker 6: to compete. Before that, you know, you would have a
- 34:33Speaker 6: really good candidate, but if there weren't challengers in the
- 34:36Speaker 6: districts around that candidate, the Democrats would team up and
- 34:40Speaker 6: beat up on a very good Republican and we couldn't
- 34:43Speaker 6: elect anyone. So challenging every one of those one hundred
- 34:46Speaker 6: House seats, every one of the seventeen state Senate seats
- 34:49Speaker 6: that comes up every four years, was key in building
- 34:53Speaker 6: the party that we now have and what we get
- 34:55Speaker 6: to enjoy.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Talking with Chris Warner again, who is the Secretary of
- 34:58Speaker 3: stateed elect for the City of West Virginia. Okay, let's
- 35:00Speaker 3: get back to the office. What are you plans, what
- 35:02Speaker 3: do you got going on?
- 35:03Speaker 6: You know, I'm anxious to work with the professional staff.
- 35:06Speaker 6: I've already started transition meetings. But they just have an
- 35:11Speaker 6: unbelievable staff at the Secretary of State's office, you know,
- 35:15Speaker 6: whether it's Brittany and her team and elections, Delilah and
- 35:19Speaker 6: her work at HR Sarah in the business division. But
- 35:23Speaker 6: I'm anxious to go to work with those folks. But
- 35:25Speaker 6: also in the very first thirty days of being in office,
- 35:30Speaker 6: the very next day, I'm going to be out on
- 35:31Speaker 6: the road visiting with all fifty five county clerks in
- 35:35Speaker 6: each one of their counties, basically a listening tour, listening
- 35:39Speaker 6: to them, seeing what's on their mind, asking questions about
- 35:42Speaker 6: things that we've all read about in the newspapers or
- 35:45Speaker 6: heard on the radio about happened, you know, what happened
- 35:48Speaker 6: in this last election. I need to listen, learn, and
- 35:52Speaker 6: then be back in town for when the legislature comes
- 35:54Speaker 6: in at in session and quite frankly, be an advocate
- 35:58Speaker 6: for those county clerks with the West Virginia Legislature on
- 36:02Speaker 6: election issues.
- 36:03Speaker 3: And I think sometimes and the listeners have heard me
- 36:05Speaker 3: say this numerous times, Chris, and as I said, full disclosure,
- 36:09Speaker 3: I was a former employee the secretary of State's office.
- 36:12Speaker 3: You don't maybe the average person doesn't realize everything, but
- 36:16Speaker 3: the Secretary of State's office does. I don't know that
- 36:18Speaker 3: there is an office in that capital that affects people's
- 36:22Speaker 3: daily lives as much as the Secretary of State's office does.
- 36:25Speaker 3: And you sit in there thinking, well, what is he
- 36:27Speaker 3: talking about. If you are involved in any sort of
- 36:31Speaker 3: a charitable organization, it comes to the Secretary of State's office.
- 36:35Speaker 3: If you are obviously you know your voter that's what
- 36:37Speaker 3: everybody thinks of as voter registration and things of that nature.
- 36:40Speaker 3: It runs through the secretary of State's office. Your business
- 36:43Speaker 3: you're licensing, all comes through the Secretary of State's office.
- 36:46Speaker 3: There's a whole lot of stuff that gets done. Elections
- 36:49Speaker 3: gets all of the attention. That's actually one of the smaller,
- 36:54Speaker 3: smaller roles of the Secretary of State.
- 36:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I think only six of the fifty onemployees are
- 37:00Speaker 6: focused on elections, and quite Frankly, one of the things.
- 37:03Speaker 6: I mean my business background, you know, is in building
- 37:07Speaker 6: business and enterprise centers in Morgantown, Philippi and Kaiser, and
- 37:12Speaker 6: I'm very anxious to work with Sarah and her team
- 37:15Speaker 6: in the Business division to figure out how we can
- 37:18Speaker 6: help new businesses be more than just the chief business registrar,
- 37:24Speaker 6: but to help them have early successes. And many times
- 37:28Speaker 6: that's just connecting them with other people that will help
- 37:30Speaker 6: that business succeed. Other times it's a matter of connecting
- 37:34Speaker 6: them with financial resources. And I want to bring what
- 37:38Speaker 6: I've done at USDA Rural Development under President Trump and
- 37:42Speaker 6: now under the leadership of Governor Justice at the Economic
- 37:46Speaker 6: Development Authority to every new business it's registering. If they
- 37:51Speaker 6: want the help, we're going to be there to help them.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Talking again to you, sigatory your state. Like Chris one

- 38:16Speaker 3: let him tell you more about this wonderful property. You
- 38:19Speaker 3: mentioned your work with the legislature, because that's something that
- 38:22Speaker 3: every January, all the offices, constitutional office holders, they have
- 38:25Speaker 3: to get in there and they have to talk to
- 38:26Speaker 3: a new legislature. But you're kind of hitting the ground
- 38:29Speaker 3: running here, sir, because there's going to be a bunch
- 38:31Speaker 3: of new legislators in but there's also going to be
- 38:33Speaker 3: a new governor, and these offices, whether it's you or
- 38:36Speaker 3: Attorney General or whatever, you have to work hand in hand,
- 38:39Speaker 3: or at least you should with the with the governor's office.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Talk about working with the new governor, Patrick Morrissey.
- 38:45Speaker 6: You know, my older brother Mike was a candidate in
- 38:47Speaker 6: that race. But I made it very clear the day
- 38:49Speaker 6: after the election that we are one hundred percent behind
- 38:52Speaker 6: Governor Morrissey. Governor elect Morrissey of seeing him out several
- 38:57Speaker 6: times since the election, and and made it clear everywhere
- 39:01Speaker 6: I go that I want to be a part of
- 39:02Speaker 6: that team. Anxious to go to work with the governor
- 39:07Speaker 6: elect and with the legislature. You mentioned that, you know,
- 39:10Speaker 6: when I came on board at EDA, there was a
- 39:14Speaker 6: severe need for additional funding for the projects that we've
- 39:17Speaker 6: been involved with, you know, the Berkshire Hathaway time at
- 39:22Speaker 6: you know, Mountaintop Beverage and now Prime sixth with the
- 39:25Speaker 6: announcement coming up on Friday. But that all took work
- 39:28Speaker 6: with the legislature to tell them, let them know how
- 39:31Speaker 6: important it was that we needed funding to help these
- 39:36Speaker 6: new businesses locating in the state. In fact, I met
- 39:40Speaker 6: with sixty six legislators one on one as soon as
- 39:44Speaker 6: I came on board at DA. I know we have
- 39:46Speaker 6: quite a bit of a changeover many times you'll see
- 39:48Speaker 6: twenty to thirty percent changeover in each election. I've got
- 39:52Speaker 6: new legislators I need to meet and work with, but
- 39:55Speaker 6: I'm anxious to do that.
- 39:56Speaker 3: I want to give you the opportunity, sir, to throw
- 39:59Speaker 3: out some things voters, family, whatever the time is yours, sir. Well,
- 40:04Speaker 3: First of all, Dave, I would say there were over
- 40:06Speaker 3: half a million voters that voted for me. I greatly
- 40:09Speaker 3: appreciate that. I will do everything I can not to
- 40:13Speaker 3: let those voters down. I'm very appreciative for the Secretary
- 40:17Speaker 3: of State Staff. You know, when my wife and I
- 40:20Speaker 3: ran this campaign, we ran a lean and mean campaign. Joyce,
- 40:24Speaker 3: who's a public school teacher here in Kanah County, was
- 40:27Speaker 3: my treasure. Every time we had a question, we would call.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Never gave the last name, just gave the first name
- 40:33Speaker 3: and said we need we need help. They were unbelievable.
- 40:36Speaker 6: So I want to thank the Secretary of State Staff
- 40:40Speaker 6: for helping us get through a statewide campaign. Had never
- 40:43Speaker 6: been a candidate at the state wide level before. I
- 40:47Speaker 6: also want to thank you here in the Kanaal Valley.
- 40:49Speaker 6: I have some friends that we made friends in elementary school,
- 40:53Speaker 6: Jay Holcombe, Rick Holroyd, Mike Ramsey. Still get together with
- 40:57Speaker 6: those guys even after all these years. They were there
- 41:00Speaker 6: the very beginning, you know, when I needed to find
- 41:02Speaker 6: people that would believe that we could do this raise
- 41:05Speaker 6: the money we needed to. So those are the folks
- 41:07Speaker 6: I'd like to thank publicly. Dave and I appreciate that
- 41:10Speaker 6: opportunity absolutely.

- 45:22Speaker 7: What I tell you yesterday, I told you he was

- 45:25Speaker 6: You did.
- 45:25Speaker 3: I was on with hotline with the coops on vacation,
- 45:28Speaker 3: so I've been sitting in with weekly on hotline a
- 45:30Speaker 3: little bit, and I had you on yesterday. You said
- 45:32Speaker 3: we'll have something in the next couple of hours. And
- 45:34Speaker 3: then when we were on hotline yesterday during a three
- 45:36Speaker 3: o'clock hour, you said we'll have something soon. By golly,
- 45:39Speaker 3: we did.
- 45:40Speaker 9: We did. So what do we have Fred?
- 45:41Speaker 7: Tell four thirty it's finally decided and it's went the
- 45:45Speaker 7: way it's always gone. The Supreme Court said, hey, Circuit judges,
- 45:49Speaker 7: you have no jurisdiction when it comes to the SSAC.
- 45:53Speaker 7: It's private entity. It's their tournaments. They can do what
- 45:56Speaker 7: they want as far as ratings and everything else goes.
- 45:58Speaker 7: So it's theirs, so stay out of it, and they
- 46:02Speaker 7: get away with all the injunctions as far as high
- 46:04Speaker 7: school football goes. The thing I feel bad about they didn't.
- 46:08Speaker 7: It didn't come down to like four thirty four yesterday well,
- 46:12Speaker 7: Saint Mary's and Tulsa were supposed to play at Herbert
- 46:15Speaker 7: Hoover last night at seven, Saint Mary's was already there.
- 46:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll just say they're at least on their way.
- 46:20Speaker 7: If they don't play, don't play, don't play, go back,
- 46:22Speaker 7: go back about it.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Just kidding.
- 46:23Speaker 7: At least we're playing high school football. And hey, yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 7: I'm sure the hot Dogs are close to being ready,
- 46:29Speaker 7: would you.
- 46:30Speaker 3: I would think so.
- 46:31Speaker 7: Think they do well there without a So, yeah, it's
- 46:33Speaker 7: finally over, thank the good Lord, and we can get
- 46:36Speaker 7: back to playing football. And we do have thirty two
- 46:38Speaker 7: games this weekend. You mentioned snow. I know that in
- 46:42Speaker 7: Beckley there's supposed to get four to eight inches. But
- 46:45Speaker 7: again Beckley, now if the bus can leave, Beckley's playing
- 46:48Speaker 7: in Morgantown, so they'll be fine. Elkins they're playing in Elki,
- 46:52Speaker 7: so they'd be fine if they can get out of there.
- 46:54Speaker 7: There's a couple of games in the area where snow
- 46:57Speaker 7: is expected. That's in single A and we'll see what
- 47:00Speaker 7: happens there with morefield. But I think the one thing
- 47:05Speaker 7: they've got fixed tomorrow night, I now this is Wednesday
- 47:08Speaker 7: on Friday night, is there was already a game scheduled
- 47:11Speaker 7: at Mitchell Stadium in Bluefield, Graham, Virginia. Graham and Bluefield
- 47:16Speaker 7: share that stadium and Graham's in the playoffs, and they
- 47:19Speaker 7: have already had a playoff game scheduled for Friday night.
- 47:22Speaker 7: Now that they said they were going to try and
- 47:24Speaker 7: work it out, I don't know what that means. I mean,
- 47:27Speaker 7: you can't have two games at the same time. Maybe
- 47:29Speaker 7: they can play a game early and may make it
- 47:31Speaker 7: a doubleheader and make a lot of money.
- 47:33Speaker 3: Well, one plays in the parking lot, Yeah.
- 47:36Speaker 7: There you go, that would work. Well, you got Bowen
- 47:37Speaker 7: Field right up the street there, just go ahead and
- 47:39Speaker 7: play there. But I don't know what they'll do there.

- 47:59Speaker 7: Statue on WCCHS Friday night. It'll be Herbert Hoover against
- 48:05Speaker 7: who they're playing. They are playing George Washington. And then
- 48:08Speaker 7: Saturday on CHS as well, they'll move the WVU coverage
- 48:12Speaker 7: over to fourteen ninety for a while and they will
- 48:14Speaker 7: do the Nitro game and the Nitro Wildcats are playing
- 48:17Speaker 7: the Shady Spring Tigers at one o'clock, so we're gonna
- 48:20Speaker 7: pick up the Nitrouk games in both games on CHS.
- 48:23Speaker 3: All right, well, Fred, you and Joe and Travis and
- 48:26Speaker 3: the whole team have done a whole lot of work.
- 48:28Speaker 3: But you said you would have the information before anybody did,
- 48:30Speaker 3: and you did yesterday.
- 48:32Speaker 7: It was good.
- 48:33Speaker 2: It was good.
- 48:33Speaker 7: And I called Dave and boom, he got it right on.
- 48:36Speaker 7: And that's the way you're supposed to do live radio.
- 48:38Speaker 7: That's what local live radio is about, exactly.

- 48:42Speaker 3: a couple days. Mean, I don't get to come back. Now,

- 49:31Speaker 3: I had a text here. Since a text Dave, I'm
- 49:34Speaker 3: an independent voter, and I think things have gotten worse
- 49:37Speaker 3: than Republicans. My utilities have gone up one hundred and
- 49:40Speaker 3: fifty percent thanks to Biden and his green jobs has
- 49:42Speaker 3: coming to our state, like New Course Steel Electric bus plant,
- 49:45Speaker 3: the battery plant states will will be broken one year. Okay,
- 49:50Speaker 3: this says a texture coming up on tomorrow show mentioned
- 49:52Speaker 3: this earlier. It's our annual turkey drop out here on
- 49:54Speaker 3: our parking lot eleven eleven Virginia Street's and Charleston will
- 49:57Speaker 3: be outstanding in the rain or snow or whatever happens,
- 50:00Speaker 3: starting at seven am tomorrow morning, wrapping up about six
- 50:02Speaker 3: pm tomorrow night. You can drop us off a frozen
- 50:05Speaker 3: turkey or a cash donation of any kind. We'll take it.
- 50:08Speaker 3: A big shout out to Mountain Mission and Cosmetic Express
- 50:11Speaker 3: for helping us out with the second event. All of
- 50:14Speaker 3: our stations personalities are gonna be out there. You're gonna
- 50:17Speaker 3: be hearing from several of them on the show tomorrow.
- 50:19Speaker 3: As a matter of fact, I know Rob Real from
- 50:21Speaker 3: ninety six to one KWS, this was kind of his
- 50:24Speaker 3: baby to begin with. Robin's going to stop by the
- 50:25Speaker 3: studio tomorrow. Rob is just happy he didn't have to
- 50:27Speaker 3: work any or at a walk anywhere, So just out
- 50:30Speaker 3: to the parking lot. So Rob will be stopping by.
- 50:33Speaker 3: I know Logan from V one hundred is going to
- 50:34Speaker 3: be stopping by the studio. Tomorrrew to talk about that
- 50:36Speaker 3: and speaking of Logan and the folks across the hall
- 50:39Speaker 3: from US at V one hundred, they've got this Thanksgiving
- 50:42Speaker 3: recipe thing going on and they've got details available on
- 50:46Speaker 3: the V one hundred social media about that. I'm gonna
- 50:48Speaker 3: bring Logan in to talk about that tomorrow, Plus doctor
- 50:51Speaker 3: Casey Sackevibridge Valley will be on the show tomorrow as well.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Older adults should protect themselves against severe respiratory disease. Talk
- 50:58Speaker 3: to your doctor about flu, COVID nineteen and RISV vaccines
- 51:01Speaker 3: risk Less do more gets started at vaccines dot gov.
- 51:04Speaker 3: That's vaccines dot gov, paid for by the US Department
- 51:06Speaker 3: of Health and Human Services. I did want to throw
- 51:10Speaker 3: this out here as well, and I don't know, I
- 51:12Speaker 3: always hate doing things at the end of the show,
- 51:14Speaker 3: but I am going to get into this a whole
- 51:15Speaker 3: lot over the next couple of days and in the
- 51:17Speaker 3: next week. Charleston City Council is going to be tackling,
- 51:21Speaker 3: or at least they want to panhandling in the city.
- 51:24Speaker 3: It's a definite problem and it's also a major safety issue.
- 51:28Speaker 3: During Monday nights council meeting, the Ordinance and Rules Committee
- 51:31Speaker 3: drafted up a bill similar to one recently passing wheeling
- 51:35Speaker 3: and under the bill, interactions. Under this bill, interactions between
- 51:39Speaker 3: cars and pedestrians would be outlawed on many streets in
- 51:42Speaker 3: the city. Now we're talking roads with speed limits greater
- 51:45Speaker 3: than twenty five miles an hour, medians or roads that
- 51:49Speaker 3: are less than ten feet wide, roads with poor no lighting,
- 51:51Speaker 3: to night roads during inclement weather. You get the idea.
- 51:55Speaker 3: It's going to be controversial to say the lease because
- 51:58Speaker 3: like it or not, and like it or not, I'm
- 51:59Speaker 3: going to go on record saying I'm one hundred percent
- 52:01Speaker 3: behind this, but similar bills across the country have been
- 52:05Speaker 3: struck down on first amendments laws. So I'm gonna get
- 52:08Speaker 3: into this a whole lot over the next couple of
- 52:10Speaker 3: days as we head into next week as well. My
- 52:12Speaker 3: producer was Mac Guitar Murphy. Thank you so much. Thanks
- 52:15Speaker 3: to the Toastmaster. Rod like Stone and Gayleen Miller stopped
- 52:18Speaker 3: by today and also Millie Snyder and Secretary of State
- 52:21Speaker 3: of Chris Horner and Fred Pursinger. Tomorrow's second annual Turkey Drop,
- 52:25Speaker 3: Doctor Casey Sacksonbridge Valley, and Logan Scott for free one
- 52:28Speaker 3: hundred on the show tomorrow I'll be coming up a
