- 0:05Speaker 2: Welcome to Monday, in a brand new week in the

- 0:09Speaker 2: on ninety seven point one was CHEFM waking up and
- 0:12Speaker 2: shaking off the weekend, much like you. But there is
- 0:16Speaker 2: a reason to feel good today. Why are you feeling
- 0:19Speaker 2: good this morning, Chile?
- 0:20Speaker 3: I'm feeling good because we've begun a new month, Toby,
- 0:24Speaker 3: and especially now this time of year when I'm sort
- 0:26Speaker 3: of over winter. Yes, it means we're getting closer to spring.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Less than twenty days away.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:34Speaker 3: And the time change yep, this week bringing forward in
- 0:37Speaker 3: a few days.
- 0:38Speaker 2: So it's a sign that things are starting to change
- 0:41Speaker 2: the times they are change.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I know, the whole seasonal effective disorder thing definitely hits me,
- 0:47Speaker 3: But anyway, that's why I'm feeling well.
- 0:48Speaker 2: That seasonal effective disorder goes bye bye for me for
- 0:52Speaker 2: similar reasons to what you just said about this being
- 0:54Speaker 2: a new month. This is the month where spring training
- 0:58Speaker 2: baseball really picks up bigs. So you know what I've
- 1:00Speaker 2: been watching on this fun little timmy box that I
- 1:04Speaker 2: have now that lets me see all of these things.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I've been watching all of the world, all of the
- 1:11Speaker 2: not the world. I've been watching all of the spring
- 1:15Speaker 2: training baseball that I can get nice, the Gnats, the Astros,
- 1:20Speaker 2: anything in between, just because tis the season.
- 1:23Speaker 4: You know, and god, I've missed baseball. I really have
- 1:29Speaker 4: anywhere here.
- 1:29Speaker 3: We just gave you two reasons to feel good on
- 1:31Speaker 3: a new work week, right.
- 1:32Speaker 4: So why are you feeling good this morning?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one

- 2:02Speaker 3: Smoke was reported near the US embassy in Kuwait, as
- 2:05Speaker 3: American facilities remain on high alert for possible Iranian retaliation,
- 2:10Speaker 3: with unconfirmed reports of a downed fighter jet and Kuwait
- 2:13Speaker 3: intercepting hostile drones for a third day. Meanwhile, the UK
- 2:17Speaker 3: France and Germany have pledged to work with the US
- 2:20Speaker 3: and allies to counter what they call Iran's indiscriminate and
- 2:24Speaker 3: disproportionate missile attacks. Following weekend strikes, three US service members
- 2:29Speaker 3: have been killed so far, with the President warning of
- 2:32Speaker 3: more casualties to come. Locally, law enforcement agencies across the
- 2:36Speaker 3: DC area have increased patrols and coordination with federal partners
- 2:41Speaker 3: just out of caution, even though officials say there are
- 2:44Speaker 3: no known local threats. In other news, a road rage
- 2:48Speaker 3: confrontation on the Beltway in Annandale yesterday escalated after a crash,
- 2:53Speaker 3: with a man stabbing multiple people and a dog before
- 2:57Speaker 3: a responding Virginia State Police troopers shot him dead in
- 3:01Speaker 3: self defense. Of these stabbing victims, a thirty nine year
- 3:04Speaker 3: old woman and the dog died. Several others were injured.
- 3:08Speaker 3: An eighty year old man is now recovering after falling
- 3:11Speaker 3: about twenty feet into an interior shaft at MedStar Washington
- 3:16Speaker 3: Hospital Center in DC early yesterday. Cruz spent seventy minutes
- 3:21Speaker 3: breaching a wall to rescue him, and officials have not
- 3:23Speaker 3: said how he access the shaft, and new CDC data
- 3:28Speaker 3: shows that more than one in three adults is obese
- 3:32Speaker 3: in most US states. West Virginia has the highest obesity
- 3:36Speaker 3: rate at forty one point one percent, while Colorado and
- 3:40Speaker 3: DC have the lowest rates at about twenty five percent.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Forecast for today cloudy with some isolated rain and snow
- 3:48Speaker 3: showers this afternoon. Highs around thirty four. Right now twenty
- 3:51Speaker 3: eight in Vienna.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You get your news with Toby and Chilly's Top stories
- 3:55Speaker 2: at the top of the hour here at ninety seven
- 3:57Speaker 2: point one was Chef m and we take a moment
- 4:00Speaker 2: talk about you and how you're doing mentally this morning,
- 4:03Speaker 2: because mental health is very important and hopefully your morning
- 4:06Speaker 2: mindset will help if you're going through something. It's a
- 4:09Speaker 2: quote that we found that might just speak to you,
- 4:11Speaker 2: and it's next to a ninety seven point one wash
- 4:14Speaker 2: FM Hang Up ninety seven point one wash FM, Washington's
- 4:19Speaker 2: variety from the eighties, nineties and today. As you wake
- 4:21Speaker 2: up with Toby and Chilly in the morning time, now
- 4:24Speaker 2: for us to take a moment to talk about you
- 4:26Speaker 2: and your headspace, because mental health really is important, and
- 4:30Speaker 2: we call this.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Our morning mindset, where we share a quote for you
- 4:34Speaker 3: to think about it as you take on the rest
- 4:36Speaker 3: of the day, maybe for motivation or inspiration.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Now we lost Virgil Ablow way too soon. He's an
- 4:41Speaker 2: artist who was a designer. He was the creative director
- 4:44Speaker 2: for Louis Vatan before his untimely passing. But he left
- 4:49Speaker 2: a lot of wisdom behind, including this for us to
- 4:52Speaker 2: think about today. Creativity doesn't wait for permission. Virgil Ablow says,
- 4:57Speaker 2: Creativity does not wait for permission. You know, if you're
- 5:01Speaker 2: waiting for it, you might just miss the opportunity to
- 5:05Speaker 2: make changes that come because of your creativity. And if
- 5:09Speaker 2: people don't like you being creative for some sort of reason, well,
- 5:14Speaker 2: you know what, stay creative anyway, because creative, creativeness, creativity,
- 5:19Speaker 2: it does not wait for permission. Keep that in mind.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Today is you prepare to take on a brand new
- 5:25Speaker 2: week and this Monday. That's your morning mindset for today,
- 5:28Speaker 2: March second. And if you've got something that speaks to you,
- 5:32Speaker 2: tell us all about it. Toby and CHILIPAGEATCHFM dot com
- 5:35Speaker 2: or on Instagram, find us and comment away and stay
- 5:39Speaker 2: with us because next with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Have you heard about this dirty soda craze? Apparently it
- 5:44Speaker 3: is spreading across the US. Yes, first of all, we'll
- 5:49Speaker 3: tell you what it is and how we ourselves feel
- 5:52Speaker 3: about this flavor combination.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So get ready for the filth. This dirty soda will
- 5:57Speaker 2: tell you more coming up. It's filthy. It's so dirty,
- 6:01Speaker 2: it's too dirty to clean its act up. We're talking
- 6:04Speaker 2: about this dirty soda trend. Have you heard ninety seven
- 6:07Speaker 2: point one watch FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
- 6:10Speaker 2: If you have heard, tell us what you think about
- 6:12Speaker 2: it at eight sixty six nine two seven three sixty one.
- 6:15Speaker 4: And if you haven't heard.
- 6:16Speaker 3: It's a customizable drink that is made by mixing sodas
- 6:19Speaker 3: like maybe a coke or Doctor Pepper, with flavored syrups,
- 6:23Speaker 3: fruit cures, or even cream. I guess it started in
- 6:27Speaker 3: Utah about it a decade ago, and now the craze
- 6:31Speaker 3: is spreading across the US.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I think the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives were starting
- 6:37Speaker 2: this whole thing. I remember during the first season. Because
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'm a fan of the show, I can admit that
- 6:42Speaker 2: they actually filmed the scene there. All the ladies were
- 6:45Speaker 2: doing what the ladies do. They're talking and mixing their
- 6:48Speaker 2: drinks and beverages, and it it looks tasty, I'll be honest,
- 6:52Speaker 2: but I don't know that it's very good for you.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Well, the history of it in the Mormon community, because
- 6:57Speaker 3: coffee and alcohol are often avoided, the dirty soda is
- 7:01Speaker 3: sort of an alternative to that and to cocktails, right,
- 7:03Speaker 3: because it's got the vibe of a cocktail, a little
- 7:06Speaker 3: colorful and all this other stuff like a mocktail, I
- 7:08Speaker 3: should say, right. But they have chains. The one's called
- 7:11Speaker 3: swig and the other one is called fizz. These are expanding.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I mean again, this is just my prediction. I think
- 7:17Speaker 3: they're going to try to do it on the East
- 7:19Speaker 3: coast YEP, maybe even around the DC area. But I
- 7:22Speaker 3: don't imagine any trend like this lasting more than like
- 7:25Speaker 3: what five to ten years.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Well, I don't know how long.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Well how long is the bubble tea and the boba
- 7:30Speaker 2: treaty lasting, Because it's kind of similar to that, it is, and.
- 7:34Speaker 3: So nobody can just do one. They gotta do a bunch,
- 7:36Speaker 3: and it's going to oversaturate a market.
- 7:38Speaker 4: That's true.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I think the boba te stuff is probably going to
- 7:41Speaker 3: start going away in the next five to ten years,
- 7:44Speaker 3: and maybe this dirty soda will take its place. I
- 7:46Speaker 3: don't know, but any kind of quote unquote trend isn't
- 7:49Speaker 3: usually meant to last.
- 7:50Speaker 4: No.
- 7:51Speaker 2: In fact, you'll know that it's starting to jump the shark,
- 7:53Speaker 2: as it were, when you roll into like the five
- 7:56Speaker 2: below or the dollar store and you see like three
- 7:59Speaker 2: to four six packs of some of this dirty soda
- 8:02Speaker 2: for like a dollar. That's when you know it's it's
- 8:06Speaker 2: probably reached the end of its tringdiness.
- 8:09Speaker 6: Hey, I'm willing to try. I'm not gonna pooh poo it.
- 8:11Speaker 6: I'm willing to try anything tasty. Just don't read to
- 8:14Speaker 6: me anything about the sugar content poor forvor. If you
- 8:18Speaker 6: want to know more about the dirty soda movement, check
- 8:22Speaker 6: out the Toby and Chilli page at washchefm dot com.

- 8:58Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one w SHFM, Washington, an.
- 9:02Speaker 5: iHeartRadio station, coming up on Top Stories, Top of the.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Hour, the President says combat operations in Iran are continuing
- 9:10Speaker 3: in full force until US objectives are met. We've got
- 9:14Speaker 3: the latest on that story and more on the way
- 9:16Speaker 3: with Toby and Chile in the morning. On ninety seven
- 9:19Speaker 3: point one.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Washendo Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 9:26Speaker 3: The President said combat operations in Iran are continuing in
- 9:29Speaker 3: full force until US objectives are met, warning that more
- 9:33Speaker 3: American casualties are possible. Three US service members have been
- 9:36Speaker 3: killed so far. Meanwhile, smoke was reported near the US
- 9:40Speaker 3: embassy in Kuwait, as American facilities remain on high alert
- 9:44Speaker 3: for Iranian retaliation. Also, the UK, France, and Germany have
- 9:48Speaker 3: pledged to work with the US to defend against what
- 9:51Speaker 3: they call Iran's indiscriminate and disproportionate missile attacks. Locally, DC
- 9:56Speaker 3: area law enforcement is increasing vigilance after US in Iran.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Peli say there are no known threats, but urge residents
- 10:04Speaker 3: to stay alert. Road rage is being blamed for a
- 10:07Speaker 3: stabbing and an officer involved shooting on the outer loop
- 10:10Speaker 3: of the Beltway near Annandale. Yesterday, a Virginia State trooper
- 10:13Speaker 3: shot and killed a knife wielding suspect after responding to
- 10:17Speaker 3: a crash related confrontation. Four people and a dog were stabbed.
- 10:22Speaker 3: A thirty nine year old woman and the dog later died.
- 10:26Speaker 3: A fire and explosion in Beltsville left over five hundred
- 10:30Speaker 3: customers without natural gas service Friday night. A utility worker
- 10:34Speaker 3: was hospitalized. Crews are now replacing a damaged four inch
- 10:38Speaker 3: service line in Washington Gas has not yet said when
- 10:42Speaker 3: service will resume well. The National Park Service has not
- 10:46Speaker 3: predicted when DC's cherry trees will reach their peak bloom,
- 10:49Speaker 3: but officials say that colder winter temperatures could delay it
- 10:53Speaker 3: this year. Last year's peak bloom was March twenty eighth,
- 10:57Speaker 3: and a new report finds that people are not choosing
- 10:59Speaker 3: fact casual meals for the price or even the food,
- 11:02Speaker 3: but because they're just too tired to cook. Forty percent
- 11:06Speaker 3: of visits to fast casual restaurants are driven by simple
- 11:10Speaker 3: exhaustion forecast today cloudy with isolated rain and snow showers
- 11:14Speaker 3: this afternoon. Highs around thirty four right now twenty eight
- 11:18Speaker 3: in Potomac.
- 11:19Speaker 4: And that is the news with Toby and Chilly in
- 11:21Speaker 4: the morning.
- 11:21Speaker 2: You get top stories at the top of the hour
- 11:24Speaker 2: and next with ninety seven point one wash CHEFM, hang
- 11:27Speaker 2: out because we're going to talk about this airport in Tampa,
- 11:30Speaker 2: Tampa International Airport that's banning flyers from wearing pajamas or
- 11:35Speaker 2: crocs when they fly.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Are they though?
- 11:40Speaker 2: Well, we'll discuss and by the way, what's your go
- 11:43Speaker 2: to travel outfit? Give us a call, jump into the
- 11:46Speaker 2: conversation eight sixty six, nine two, seven forty three sixty
- 11:49Speaker 2: one or tap that talk back microphone. We'll get to
- 11:52Speaker 2: that coming up next dayline Tampa International Airport where Toby
- 11:57Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning here at ninety seven point
- 11:59Speaker 2: one WASHFM, and we've been investigating Tampa internationals rule that
- 12:03Speaker 2: went viral last week saying that they are banning pajamas
- 12:08Speaker 2: and crocs from travelers at the airport.
- 12:11Speaker 4: That's right, they're banning it. Chili thoughts this morning.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Well, first of all, this was just a joke. They
- 12:16Speaker 3: aren't really seriously doing this. It was an X account
- 12:19Speaker 3: that declared they've seen enough. This whole thing was triggered
- 12:22Speaker 3: when our transportation secretary recently suggested to everyone that we
- 12:26Speaker 3: dress a little bit better when we're flying. So Tampa's
- 12:29Speaker 3: not really banning this stuff, but it does bring the question.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I've been a lot of people had some feelings and
- 12:33Speaker 3: thoughts they did on banning those things. Is there dickcorum
- 12:37Speaker 3: that we should be following when we fly the friendly skies?
- 12:41Speaker 4: I think it's so chilly.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I think you need to wear clothes. Well, I think
- 12:46Speaker 3: you can't fly naked. I don't think anyone has flown naked.
- 12:49Speaker 3: So I think we're okay. If that is your bar,
- 12:51Speaker 3: I think we're going to be good. I think that's fine.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I typically have to wear comfortable pants, and I personally,
- 12:58Speaker 3: you know, wear a couple of layers on top, because
- 13:00Speaker 3: sometimes it does get cold on an airplane. Sure, but yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 3: I think comfort is important, and I'm not offended if
- 13:05Speaker 3: somebody rolls up in pajama pants whatever that you do.
- 13:08Speaker 2: You that's that's not I mean, I joke about it.
- 13:10Speaker 2: But you know what, ath leisure, that's fine. And there
- 13:13Speaker 2: are some people who look amazing in their ath leisure.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I wouldn't wear ath leisure because it makes me look ridiculous.
- 13:19Speaker 2: But I will wear a hoodie and maybe some sweatpants,
- 13:22Speaker 2: and I will wear tennis shoes because you know, crocs
- 13:26Speaker 2: probably not good when you need to run through the
- 13:28Speaker 2: airport because I.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Run late all the time.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yeah, my daughter once she flies pajama pants and a
- 13:33Speaker 2: hoodie and maybe ugs.
- 13:35Speaker 3: You know exactly. I Also, the only thing I wouldn't
- 13:38Speaker 3: want is anything offensive, like any trapphics or language, offensive
- 13:41Speaker 3: language and stuff on a shirt or clothing, because I
- 13:44Speaker 3: don't have to explain to my kid what that means,
- 13:46Speaker 3: but that that's the only thing for me.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I should go without saying. I concur completely. So
- 13:51Speaker 2: what do you wear when you travel? Give us a
- 13:53Speaker 2: call now eight sixty six nine two seven forty three
- 13:55Speaker 2: sixty one. What's your definition of comfort as you fly
- 13:59Speaker 2: these friendly sky Give us a call now, we'll talk
- 14:01Speaker 2: about it. Next to Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues,
- 14:04Speaker 2: she's all about that base, no trouble and she's coming
- 14:07Speaker 2: to town. Megan Trainer ninety seven point one wash FM
- 14:10Speaker 2: Toby and Chilli in the Morning.
- 14:11Speaker 4: You want to go to the show.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Listen right around seven to ten this morning, and if
- 14:15Speaker 3: you get our nearly impossible question correct, you will win.

- 14:25Speaker 1: up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 14:27Speaker 3: The President says more Americans will likely die as operations

- 15:11Speaker 3: the President warning of more casualties to come. Locally, law
- 15:15Speaker 3: enforcement agencies across the DC area have increased patrols and
- 15:19Speaker 3: coordination with federal partners out out of abundance of caution.
- 15:24Speaker 3: A road rage confrontation on the Atterloop the Beltway in
- 15:28Speaker 3: Annandale yesterday escalated after a crash with a man stabbing

- 15:49Speaker 3: Center in DC early yesterday. Officials have not said how
- 15:53Speaker 3: he accessed that shaft. DC is increasing testing of both
- 15:58Speaker 3: the Potomac and Anacostier rivers, with daily bacterial checks starting
- 16:02Speaker 3: today for six to eight weeks, while officials still plan
- 16:06Speaker 3: to lift the warning advising against river contact and daylight
- 16:11Speaker 3: Saving time will begin on Sunday, just a few days away,
- 16:14Speaker 3: meaning we're gonna be springing forward and losing an hour
- 16:17Speaker 3: of sleep. Experts suggest easing the transition by getting some
- 16:21Speaker 3: morning sunlight and moving your bedtime fifteen minutes earlier every
- 16:25Speaker 3: night leading up to that change. Forecast, we're gonna have
- 16:28Speaker 3: cloudy skies and isolated rain or snowshower possible this afternoon.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Highs around thirty four right now twenty nine in Annandale.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question and.
- 16:39Speaker 4: The question this morning is.
- 16:42Speaker 3: On average, it takes less than five seconds to determine
- 16:48Speaker 3: if you like this.
- 16:50Speaker 4: What is it? Ooh, that's a good question. Nearly impossible.

- 23:42Speaker 2: have you heard about this meditation that takes place in
- 23:45Speaker 2: a coffin? Yeah, it's a thing and it's a trend,
- 23:50Speaker 2: and we'll discuss you won't believe this hang out Sylbe

- 24:01Speaker 2: this coffin lying trend?
- 24:05Speaker 4: No?
- 24:06Speaker 2: Really, it's a trend where people lie down in coffins
- 24:09Speaker 2: in pursuit of peace and quiet.
- 24:12Speaker 3: In Japan. It's a thing. It all started in a
- 24:16Speaker 3: funeral home and it turned into a full blown wellness trend.
- 24:20Speaker 3: People get to go into a coffin, they think about life,
- 24:24Speaker 3: maybe they reflect on their mortality. But it's a safe environment, Toby,
- 24:28Speaker 3: very quiet environment where you can be alone with your thoughts.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Right sure, you know, Like that's what coffins are. Safe
- 24:35Speaker 2: environment's quiet where you spend eternity alone with your thoughts.

- 25:11Speaker 3: might be up.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I got no time to lay down in no kind
- 25:15Speaker 2: of coffin. I'm not trucking with no undertaker that wants

- 25:23Speaker 2: out of the coffin and meditate and focus wherever I want.
- 25:26Speaker 2: That's not involving a coffin. That's a little too morbid
- 25:29Speaker 2: from me.
- 25:29Speaker 3: The closest thing I've ever gotten to being in a
- 25:31Speaker 3: coffin like environment is a tanning bed. Yes, back in
- 25:34Speaker 3: the day, right, and even then, I'm like, you know what,
- 25:37Speaker 3: this is a little creepy. I don't think so, But
- 25:39Speaker 3: a real coffin, no, thank.
- 25:40Speaker 2: You A thousand times. No, I'm getting anxious even thinking
- 25:44Speaker 2: about it.
