- 0:04Can I just touch on one thing you, you spoke about?
- 0:08I'll be wanting for a second day and the me to movement one
- 0:12thing. What I've bought, a really
- 0:14wanted to ask someone, you might be the perfect person.
- 0:17I thought it seemed a an obvious.
- 0:22It didn't seem like much of a secret that that's what he was
- 0:25into that he was doing things. And, and then when it all blew
- 0:28up, I'm certainly going. Well, didn't use all know.
- 0:30Like and then everyone's gonna go on pretending.
- 0:33Like all, this is startling news, I have apps actually.
- 0:36Having sentence is so Best friend at the time was having
- 0:40Weinstein's longest-serving female assistant.
- 0:42She was a system for four years and then was moved to the TV
- 0:46department. So, she knew so many stories
- 0:50about him. She took women to his hotel
- 0:53room, but she didn't know what was happening on the other side
- 0:55of it. The rate part of it was not
- 1:00something people were aware of, they knew he was having sex with
- 1:03girls. Yes, which does that.
- 1:07But There is a difference between even if it's like
- 1:10really, see there is a difference between a girl
- 1:11consenting and rape of an obvious difference there.
- 1:17So like my friend was absolutely coming.
- 1:20He'd been horrible to her as well.
- 1:22So she was traumatized from just working with a yes, everyone
- 1:25knew he was a horrible guy. It was like every industry.
- 1:29Thought he was this wonderful person or anything?
- 1:31No, he was horrible, as our lots of others and there was so many
- 1:35one of the things was because he was so Successful and so
- 1:38powerful and then he's one of new many men who would who
- 1:45behaved in that way. And so they have these these
- 1:47tyrants sort of personas. And so, what happens, there is
- 1:51that all the men coming up, try to replicate that they want that
- 1:55Tyrant Persona. Yeah.
- 1:57And so, so, so you're dealing just with hundreds of and you've
- 2:01got the actual Harvey Weinstein, and then, you've got all these
- 2:03little wannabe Harvey Weinstein. So that's what you're navigating
- 2:05in the industry, basically. Yeah, so when it when the Harvey
- 2:10Weinstein story broke. No, no one was.
- 2:12I mean, I wasn't like, oh gosh, I'm absolutely shocked by this,
- 2:17but I will tell you one thing that was revealed to me.
- 2:20So when when I was like, writing scripts, and especially when I
- 2:23was getting really desperate, one of the things, my agent
- 2:26would say to me all the time is why doesn't your friend slip
- 2:29Harvey? Your script filled by it and she
- 2:32never did. And I ran four years like the
- 2:34four years. I spent like that time, you
- 2:36know, I never said anything. I asked her one time and she was
- 2:39like okay you know I yeah I'll think about it and then she
- 2:42never did never boarded up and so I was like, oh gosh, she does
- 2:45not think I'm very good. Like I'm not talented enough.
- 2:48She's embarrassed by me. Grab a bluff.
- 2:50No, she informed me that she she didn't know about the roots but
- 2:54she knew what? But he would what he would try
- 2:57something. He knew what he was.
- 2:58What was on offer? She didn't want to put me in
- 3:01that situation. That's a good friend, right?
- 3:04Yeah. The most amazing friend and she
- 3:06never told me she never said anything.
- 3:07Nothing about it. And so yeah.
- 3:10So she saved me from that and because I mean I would never
- 3:13done anything with him but the trauma of how much more
- 3:16traumatized I would have been being.
- 3:18Yeah. Situate.
- 3:21Yeah. And so, even now from what I
- 3:23hear of how it is over there. Yeah.
- 3:27Nothing has basically changed. A lot of insurance premiums have
- 3:30just been up to and now the yeah, there's less women in the
- 3:32room because men are like, well, okay, I'm not even you, there's
- 3:36just not even going to be a woman.
- 3:37And for the job because what if she accuses us?
- 3:41Yeah, of sexual harassment. So ya know in is it a successful
- 3:47movement? I would say, absolutely no way
- 3:50it wasn't necessary. Yes it has anything because I
- 3:53don't think you can change it. Yeah.
- 3:56I just I don't know what the solution is but it's it.
- 4:00Women speaking up is such a small part of it.
- 4:04There's no point. I speaking up, if there's not
- 4:06actual change by These perverted Mmmm.
- 4:09Yeah, it sounds like a massive, massive conversation.
- 4:13Someone needs to have, and who knows?
- 4:15You might. Yeah, you might be the voice.
- 4:19Listen, I want to thank you very much for coming on this program.
- 4:22It's been very helpful for myself to here to here and help
- 4:26understand what's going on. Not just about the birthing
- 4:30parent, but everything with giggle, but all, you know, where
- 4:34women are standing where how other points of views, you know,
- 4:37other The views that you know, in where we are in Australia at
- 4:42the moment, this especially its birth in parent, gender
- 4:45identity. Sort of things is going to
- 4:46become news more and more because very few years behind
- 4:49the UK and the us on this issue. And it's receiving stories every
- 4:55day because just going to be more and more.
- 4:57So, I would say to all your listeners, sort of just keep an
- 4:59eye out because it is crazy. And the laws that have been
- 5:03changed in stealth without our knowledge and things.
- 5:05It's if ya got especially you've got Young Daughters check out
- 5:08what the laws are and single-sex pieces because you might find it
- 5:11there actually impact precarious situations or confine themselves
- 5:14in precarious situations. Okay.
- 5:16Hey we just for the listeners are going to put put cells, the
- 5:22giggle, giggle, linked up in the description for us.
- 5:26I will say, just, it's a frustrating app to use at the
- 5:29moment because we're actually doing renovations, because we're
- 5:30about to do a whole cool new thing.
- 5:32So, yeah, if it doesn't work for you right now.
- 5:34It's not because it's just because we're actually and it.
- 5:37Code is all working really, really hard.
- 5:38I just put it on. Hold and try again later on at
- 5:41all, be worthwhile. Okay cell.
