Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, Welcome to the Inside the Birds NFL Week ten preview.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Mosher, and if you are an Eagles fan,
- 0:18Speaker 1: it's another fun weekend for you as last weekend the
- 0:22Speaker 1: Eagles were by and you got to watch NFL action
- 0:26Speaker 1: and not have to worry about, you know, sweating it
- 0:29Speaker 1: out with an Eagles game. And then this weekend you
- 0:32Speaker 1: get to again enjoy action around the NFL as the
- 0:36Speaker 1: Eagles will not play until Monday night, So if you're
- 0:40Speaker 1: an Eagles fans, it's sort of like a double bonus.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You get to watch more football and then you get
- 0:46Speaker 1: to watch your own team on Monday night in a
- 0:48Speaker 1: big game for both teams, the Eagles and Packers, and
- 0:51Speaker 1: we've obviously have that covered on the Inside the Birds
- 0:55Speaker 1: pregame Show Myself, Adam Kaplan, Greg Cosel broke it all down.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Very interesting game. The injury situation for the Packers losing
- 1:04Speaker 1: Tucker Kraft is going to play a big part of that,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and obviously with the Eagles, and you know Cam Jurgens's
- 1:10Speaker 1: situation not great as well. So both teams have some
- 1:14Speaker 1: things to overcome and both have a lot online. Two
- 1:16Speaker 1: good teams should be a very good Monday night game.
- 1:20Speaker 1: If you are an Eagles fan, or if you are
- 1:22Speaker 1: an NFL fan who watched the Thursday night game with
- 1:26Speaker 1: the Broncos and the Raiders, I'm sorry you probably could
- 1:32Speaker 1: have spent that time weaving a basket filing taxes early.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I don't know something that would have been more productive
- 1:41Speaker 1: than that game, which was a terrible game. The Broncos won,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and amazingly they are eight and two, and it seems
- 1:48Speaker 1: like the more they compile wins, the less impressed I
- 1:54Speaker 1: become with who they are and their chances of being
- 1:58Speaker 1: the best team in the AF. I know that sounds ridiculous,
- 2:02Speaker 1: but they really really struggle to move the ball and
- 2:06Speaker 1: to score points against a Raiders team that is not
- 2:10Speaker 1: very good, does not have a very good defense, has
- 2:14Speaker 1: not been very competitive all either. Two and seven. Yes,
- 2:18Speaker 1: they lost by the to the Jaguars by one the
- 2:20Speaker 1: week before. I don't think the Jaguars are very good,
- 2:23Speaker 1: but you know, they lost the Chiefs thirty one nothing
- 2:25Speaker 1: going into the buye. Their only win since Week one,
- 2:30Speaker 1: well is the Titans, and they only beat the Titans
- 2:32Speaker 1: twenty to ten. So they give it forty points to
- 2:34Speaker 1: the Colts. They give it forty one to the Commanders.
- 2:37Speaker 1: This is not a great Raiders defense. It's not one
- 2:41Speaker 1: of those teams that if it was just offensively they
- 2:44Speaker 1: were a little better, then they would be a really
- 2:47Speaker 1: good team. So I don't know what's going on with
- 2:50Speaker 1: the Broncos Offensively. It seems like bo Nicks is having
- 2:54Speaker 1: trouble getting the ball down the field. I don't think
- 2:56Speaker 1: they have overall enough playmakers. And Courtland Sutton's a great
- 3:02Speaker 1: wide receiver. They have a good offensive line, but they're
- 3:05Speaker 1: They're running game has been fine, but they really don't
- 3:07Speaker 1: have anything at the tight end position, at the Z spot,
- 3:12Speaker 1: at the Y spot that nothing other than Courtland Sutton
- 3:15Speaker 1: that I think really threatens an opponent. And I just
- 3:19Speaker 1: don't think Nicks himself has in year two taken a
- 3:24Speaker 1: huge leap from year one. He's basically, to me, the
- 3:27Speaker 1: same kind of guy. He might make a couple of
- 3:28Speaker 1: better throws here and there, and again, I'm not trying
- 3:31Speaker 1: to take credit away for the Broncos. I know it
- 3:33Speaker 1: was an AFC West game, and those are always going
- 3:36Speaker 1: to be a little bit tighter and different. But they
- 3:38Speaker 1: have won eight in a row. But you look at
- 3:40Speaker 1: some of their offensive performances ten to seven Raiders eighteen
- 3:44Speaker 1: fifteen against the Texans the week before. Texas have a
- 3:47Speaker 1: good defense, I get it, thirteen points against the Jets
- 3:51Speaker 1: across the pond in a thirteen to eleven win. You know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: they did beat the Eagles and to score twenty one
- 3:57Speaker 1: in that twenty to twelve in this he's an opener
- 4:00Speaker 1: against the Titans, they're just a very they're an ordinary offense.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I don't think that they threaten defenses really well. And
- 4:08Speaker 1: we'll really find out more about the Broncos as they
- 4:14Speaker 1: you know, have to play the Kansas City Chiefs in
- 4:19Speaker 1: their next game, so they'll get a little bit of
- 4:21Speaker 1: a mini buy. So that'll be week eleven. Next week
- 4:23Speaker 1: they'll face the Chiefs. Then they'll have to score points
- 4:26Speaker 1: to keep up with the Chiefs or continue to play
- 4:29Speaker 1: amazing defense and hold the Chiefs to somewhere in that
- 4:32Speaker 1: twenty one to twenty four range. And then you know,
- 4:35Speaker 1: over the latter part of their schedule they have the Packers,
- 4:38Speaker 1: They've got the Chiefs again and the Chargers to end
- 4:40Speaker 1: the year with. So they're gonna finish fine. You know,
- 4:43Speaker 1: they got games left against the Commanders, another one against
- 4:46Speaker 1: the Raiders against the Jaguars. So they'll be fine. They're
- 4:49Speaker 1: gonna win at least twelve or thirteen games. But when
- 4:52Speaker 1: you look at their viability as a real threat to
- 4:57Speaker 1: whether it's the Chiefs, whether it's the Ravens, who are
- 5:01Speaker 1: probably going to be back, you know, to to probably
- 5:04Speaker 1: gonna win the AFC Central, whether it's you know, the
- 5:07Speaker 1: Patriots who can score points. I just don't know that
- 5:10Speaker 1: the Broncos can rely week after week after week on
- 5:14Speaker 1: their defense just shutting down the opponent. It's a great defense,
- 5:17Speaker 1: but at some point the offense has to take a
- 5:20Speaker 1: step up. So that was the Thursday night game. And
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know, I talked about this a couple of weeks ago.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I'm just not sure Chip Kelly as an NFL coach.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I mean, I think his offenses, you know, they struggled
- 5:34Speaker 1: after the first year with the Eagles, despite all the
- 5:37Speaker 1: changes that he made, despite getting quote unquote his guy
- 5:40Speaker 1: with Sam Bradford and his guy with DeMarco Murray. Then
- 5:42Speaker 1: they struggled in San Francisco. He didn't have a great team,
- 5:46Speaker 1: but it struggled. And now he's back, and look, the
- 5:49Speaker 1: Raiders don't have a great set of offensive weaponry. But
- 5:54Speaker 1: Gino Smith before he came to the Raiders was a
- 5:57Speaker 1: pretty good quarterback in Seattle. Ashton Genty is a top
- 6:00Speaker 1: five pick who ripped up college apart Brock Bauers had
- 6:04Speaker 1: an amazing rookie year. Their O line, I know it
- 6:07Speaker 1: got beat up and they lost their center. They haven't
- 6:10Speaker 1: had Colton Miller the left tackle. I know their O
- 6:12Speaker 1: line isn't great. And obviously they traded away their receiver
- 6:18Speaker 1: at the at the trade deadline to the Jags, and
- 6:21Speaker 1: that takes somebody away. But they shouldn't be this bad offensively.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And I think that Chip Kelly's fingerprints are all over
- 6:32Speaker 1: that Jacoby Myers, who who I was thinking of that
- 6:34Speaker 1: they traded away. They just haven't been a good offense.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And in Chip Kelly's NFL career, now with the Eagles,
- 6:40Speaker 1: with the Niners, and now his offensive coordinator of the Raiders,
- 6:44Speaker 1: the common bond is his offenses don't seem to adjust,
- 6:46Speaker 1: they don't capitalize, they don't maximize any mismatches, and you know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'm just not sure he's an NFL coach. As for
- 6:54Speaker 1: the rest of the week, there's bye weeks of course
- 6:57Speaker 1: for the Bengals needed the Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, the Chiefs,
- 7:05Speaker 1: the Cowboys really need to buy. I mean, obviously, it's
- 7:08Speaker 1: a terrible tragedy there for Dallas losing Marshaw Neeland to
- 7:12Speaker 1: an apparent suicide. You just feel for his girlfriend, Catalina,
- 7:18Speaker 1: who was her name in the reports, the family, the
- 7:21Speaker 1: team itself, anybody in Marshawn's inner circle. Just a terribly
- 7:28Speaker 1: tragic situation that I don't know that I can expand
- 7:32Speaker 1: or offer any wisdom or insight that's anything better than
- 7:36Speaker 1: you all have already heard or know. I just think
- 7:39Speaker 1: that there's a hopeless feeling for people in general who
- 7:47Speaker 1: don't know when somebody needs help. You know, there could
- 7:50Speaker 1: be somebody struggling with mental illness that I know right now,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and it may not be obvious, it may not be
- 7:58Speaker 1: a parent, and I have no no idea if it
- 8:00Speaker 1: was or not. For Marshaw on New and you scored
- 8:02Speaker 1: a touchdown the week before, is first career touchdown off
- 8:05Speaker 1: of a block. He fell on it. Every picture that
- 8:09Speaker 1: you see, which is the most misleading thing that we have,
- 8:12Speaker 1: is pictures. That's why Instagram can be toxic. It can
- 8:16Speaker 1: make you think that everybody's life is great, or any
- 8:18Speaker 1: other social media platform and then make you feel worse
- 8:22Speaker 1: about your own life. I mean, social media is just
- 8:24Speaker 1: terrible and toxic for that reason. But that's a helpless
- 8:30Speaker 1: feeling for someone who might want to be a mental
- 8:33Speaker 1: health advocate or help out or just be extremely sensitive
- 8:38Speaker 1: to the issue. But you want you're constantly told and
- 8:41Speaker 1: it's a great thing to be told to check in
- 8:43Speaker 1: on your friends, check in on your loved ones, ask
- 8:46Speaker 1: someone if they're not doing well, ask if they're okay.
- 8:50Speaker 1: But the signs aren't always there, and sometimes you just
- 8:53Speaker 1: don't know when or who to ask or why. And
- 8:57Speaker 1: that's the difficult helpless feeling that I I feel when
- 9:01Speaker 1: I think about people in my life, people I come
- 9:03Speaker 1: across who could be struggling and I might not know.
- 9:08Speaker 1: It's hard to just go up to every single person
- 9:10Speaker 1: every single day of the of the week, Hey you're
- 9:12Speaker 1: doing all right? You feel okay, you're good, or even
- 9:14Speaker 1: if someone looks down. You know, sometimes people look down
- 9:18Speaker 1: they're just having a bad moment and they don't want
- 9:20Speaker 1: to be pestered by Hey are you okay? You're right?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Can I help you? You know, sometimes since you're just
- 9:25Speaker 1: having a bad day and you don't want somebody in
- 9:28Speaker 1: your face, so it's just a helpless feeling. I would
- 9:32Speaker 1: just recommend that everybody check out Andrew Decheco's interview on
- 9:37Speaker 1: the Inside the Birds platform with former Eagles first round
- 9:40Speaker 1: pick Marcus Smith, who has become a mental health advocate,
- 9:43Speaker 1: who has struggled with mental health at times he did
- 9:46Speaker 1: in his career. He's very open about it. We've had
- 9:49Speaker 1: him on radio Row at the Super Bowl talking about it.
- 9:51Speaker 1: He did try at one point in his life to
- 9:53Speaker 1: commit suicide when he was with the Seahawks and things
- 9:56Speaker 1: weren't working out. He obviously had a difficult career up
- 10:00Speaker 1: to being a first round pick. And anyway, Andrew caught
- 10:03Speaker 1: up with him this week and for his Daily to
- 10:05Speaker 1: check o and did a really nice interview with Marcus Smith,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and Marcus had some really really good stuff to say,
- 10:12Speaker 1: and also talk about his foundation Circle of M that
- 10:15Speaker 1: is basically that is devoted to more awareness and advocacy
- 10:19Speaker 1: for mental health. So please check that out on the platform.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's an important show, and it's an important topic that
- 10:25Speaker 1: we've talked about more as a society as it intersects
- 10:29Speaker 1: with sports. It used to be kind of not something
- 10:31Speaker 1: you would talk about, but now it's okay, which is good.
- 10:34Speaker 1: You know, Lane Johnson and of course has has talked
- 10:38Speaker 1: about it, and you know, it was really the right
- 10:44Speaker 1: guard for the Eagles, Brooks, Brandon Brooks, who who was
- 10:47Speaker 1: the first you know, he encountered some real issues with
- 10:50Speaker 1: mental health while he was an Eagle and talked about
- 10:54Speaker 1: it and talked about the difficulties and coming out for
- 10:57Speaker 1: him about it really helped him through it. And he
- 11:03Speaker 1: wanted to make awareness a better thing in sports than
- 11:07Speaker 1: he did, and so was Lane Johnson. And that's been good.
- 11:10Speaker 1: So I definitely would encourage you to check out the
- 11:13Speaker 1: interview that Andrew Decheco did with Marcus Smith, and of
- 11:17Speaker 1: course to keep you know, Marshaw Neeland's family and your thoughts,
- 11:20Speaker 1: his loved ones and your thoughts, because it really is
- 11:24Speaker 1: a tragedy and it's just it's it's tough to think about.
- 11:27Speaker 2: It.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Definitely was a tough week for NFL fans and people
- 11:30Speaker 1: who cover the sport who get to know these athletes
- 11:33Speaker 1: on a little bit of a different level. All right,
- 11:37Speaker 1: let's take a look at the games in the NFL
- 11:40Speaker 1: this week, and it's kind of got some pretty good man.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I thought the last few weeks we've gotten some matchups,
- 11:46Speaker 1: but we're starting to get to some pretty good ones now.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Of course, the NFL is overseas again, so you can
- 11:51Speaker 1: wake up early and watch your early morning game between
- 11:56Speaker 1: the Falcons of the and the Colts in Germany. Boys,
- 12:00Speaker 1: that game become interesting as the Colts have become a
- 12:03Speaker 1: very very interesting team. They are coming off a loss
- 12:06Speaker 1: to the Steelers. It was just their second loss of
- 12:10Speaker 1: the year, and they've kind of established themselves as a juggernaut.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And then they make a big trade. Now. I already
- 12:17Speaker 1: went through this on Philly Voice. I wrote Winners and
- 12:20Speaker 1: Losers of the Trade Deadline. I talked about this with
- 12:23Speaker 1: Kaplan throughout the week. My stances that I think the
- 12:26Speaker 1: two first round picks for a cornerback when you are
- 12:30Speaker 1: a team that has had quarterback instability for as long
- 12:33Speaker 1: as you've had is dangerous and risky. I get why
- 12:36Speaker 1: the Colts did it. I do think Sauce Gardner, despite
- 12:39Speaker 1: some regression a little bit, probably in a better environment,
- 12:43Speaker 1: will play really well for the Colts, and they really
- 12:45Speaker 1: needed a corner But I mean, they basically married themselves
- 12:50Speaker 1: to Daniel Jones not just for this year, but going forward,
- 12:53Speaker 1: because not having first round picks in each of the
- 12:55Speaker 1: next two years is a dangerous proposition unless you are
- 12:59Speaker 1: an elite team team, and the Colts think they are
- 13:01Speaker 1: and think that they've got their quarterback wrapped up, and
- 13:04Speaker 1: so we will see. You do have to give Shane
- 13:07Speaker 1: Stike and a whole lot of credit, and he's done
- 13:08Speaker 1: a tremendous job. He showed in a very unpopular move
- 13:12Speaker 1: that it really was about Anthony Richardson not being able
- 13:16Speaker 1: to execute the offense. Daniel Jones is and ever since
- 13:19Speaker 1: he's been executing it, the whole offense and the whole
- 13:22Speaker 1: team has functioned at an entirely new level. Now think
- 13:26Speaker 1: about this the Colts. It's easy to look at the Colts,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and I said this last week. I said, we will
- 13:31Speaker 1: know if the Colts are really for real over the
- 13:35Speaker 1: second half of it. We'll start to see. Because eventually,
- 13:37Speaker 1: when you win all these all these games in a row,
- 13:40Speaker 1: the spotlight shines on you. Teams come hunting for you.
- 13:44Speaker 1: You become the you know, the hunted, not the hunter,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and then there's some regression that is naturally expected, especially
- 13:51Speaker 1: when you'll win a lot of games in a row.
- 13:53Speaker 1: So I said, we'll see if Indianapolis can handle being
- 13:58Speaker 1: that team on a four game win streak. Their only
- 14:01Speaker 1: loss of the year had been to the Rams, and
- 14:03Speaker 1: that was a tough game, close game as well. We'll
- 14:06Speaker 1: see how they handle that. And obviously they lose in Pittsburgh.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But I will say this about their loss. They turned
- 14:13Speaker 1: the ball over six times. Six times. They turned the
- 14:19Speaker 1: ball over. They lost twenty seven to twenty all right,
- 14:22Speaker 1: most teams turned the ball over six times, right, There
- 14:26Speaker 1: was three interceptions by Andrew Jones and obviously three fumbles. Wow,
- 14:32Speaker 1: two fumbles by Jones and then won by Josh Allen.
- 14:35Speaker 1: So Daniel Jones himself had five turnovers. Okay, when you
- 14:40Speaker 1: turn the ball over six times in a game, you
- 14:43Speaker 1: usually get your rear end kicked in. All right, you
- 14:47Speaker 1: are usually done. And yes, they were down by seventeen
- 14:50Speaker 1: points in the fourth quarter until a Downs touchdown made
- 14:53Speaker 1: it by ten, and then they got a field goal
- 14:55Speaker 1: to cut it three. So I'm not trying to act
- 14:57Speaker 1: like the Colts weren't handled a little bit here, but
- 15:00Speaker 1: for this to be even that close of a game
- 15:03Speaker 1: on six turnovers says a a lot about the Colts
- 15:09Speaker 1: and that this was probably fluky for them to lose
- 15:12Speaker 1: this game, and b kind of says a lot about
- 15:16Speaker 1: the Steelers, don't you think. I mean, you force six
- 15:18Speaker 1: turnovers and you only score twenty seven points, only win
- 15:22Speaker 1: by a touchdown. I mean Aaron Rodgers two hundred and
- 15:26Speaker 1: three yards in a touchdown. They really didn't have a
- 15:28Speaker 1: running game. Jalen Warren averaged one point nine yards per carry.
- 15:32Speaker 1: This has been the Steelers all year long. They're streaky,
- 15:36Speaker 1: they're unpredictable, they don't run the ball very well. They've
- 15:39Speaker 1: gotten nothing from that rookie third round pick Caleb Johnson.
- 15:42Speaker 1: They other than DK Metcalf, we only had two catches.
- 15:46Speaker 1: You know, they don't have too many threats as weapons.
- 15:49Speaker 1: But these are the Steelers, and even their defense hasn't
- 15:53Speaker 1: been as great. Indianapolis still had three hundred and sixty
- 15:56Speaker 1: eight total yards despite turning the ball over six times.
- 16:00Speaker 1: The Steelers only had two hundred and twenty five yards
- 16:02Speaker 1: in that game. So that is about as fluky of
- 16:06Speaker 1: a game as you're ever going to see. So I
- 16:09Speaker 1: don't I won't knock the Colts too much for losing it,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and I won't, you know, I didn't drop them from
- 16:15Speaker 1: number one of my power rankings. You knew they were
- 16:16Speaker 1: going to lose a game. And they're playing a Falcons
- 16:19Speaker 1: team this week and they're at I want to stay
- 16:21Speaker 1: at home, they're the home team, but they're in Germany.
- 16:23Speaker 1: But the Falcons are not very good. The Falcons are
- 16:25Speaker 1: actually probably the most disappointing team in the NFL. He
- 16:29Speaker 1: kind of thought, I know that they that Pennox has
- 16:32Speaker 1: been hurt. They've had to go with Cousins for a game,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and you know, they just lost to the Patriots, and
- 16:39Speaker 1: Pennix did come back and he did throw three touchdowns.
- 16:41Speaker 1: That was a closer game for them. They lost twenty
- 16:43Speaker 1: four to twenty three to a red hot Patriots team
- 16:46Speaker 1: that I believe was won seven in a row. But
- 16:48Speaker 1: they're just disappointing. You look at them at three and
- 16:50Speaker 1: five and they're just not They're not getting enough contributions
- 16:55Speaker 1: from their defense. In the pass rush. They're getting more
- 16:58Speaker 1: out of Beijon Robins as a pass catcher then a
- 17:01Speaker 1: running back. Drake London catches all their passes and nobody else,
- 17:06Speaker 1: whether it's Mooney or Pits or anybody else, steps up.
- 17:09Speaker 1: It's just been a bad job by the coaching staff,
- 17:12Speaker 1: bad job by the team. Maybe they can start to
- 17:15Speaker 1: get things together here. If they can beat the Colts
- 17:17Speaker 1: and take advantage of the Colts losing last week, then
- 17:20Speaker 1: maybe I'll start to view them differently. But man, ever
- 17:23Speaker 1: since they beat the Bills by ten, right, ever since
- 17:26Speaker 1: they beat the Bills by ten, they've been nothing but
- 17:29Speaker 1: a disappointment, and I would not expect them to be
- 17:32Speaker 1: able to win this game as well. And of course
- 17:35Speaker 1: the Colts are six and a half point favorites. Move
- 17:38Speaker 1: on to the Giants. The Giants are all banged up.
- 17:41Speaker 1: They are four and a half point dogs in Chicago
- 17:45Speaker 1: to the Bears. The Giants have injuries on the offensive line.
- 17:49Speaker 1: They got injuries to Pulse and de Deebo, their corner,
- 17:51Speaker 1: their kicker, he's always hurt. They got injuries on the
- 17:54Speaker 1: d line, so it's not looking great for them. They
- 17:58Speaker 1: need a spark obviously, losing Scataboo, it's been a disaster
- 18:03Speaker 1: for them, three straight losses. They're going to play a
- 18:06Speaker 1: Bears team now that you know rebounded that just had
- 18:09Speaker 1: an unbelievable offensive effort like everybody does against the Bengals.
- 18:14Speaker 1: You know, even though the Bears had some injuries, they
- 18:15Speaker 1: were able to unlock some guys. Colson Lovelin, their first
- 18:19Speaker 1: round pick tight end, had a one hundred and eighteen
- 18:21Speaker 1: yards and two touchdowns. How about their running game. The
- 18:24Speaker 1: Bears have the best and most explosive run game in
- 18:29Speaker 1: the NFL. Go figure that Kyle manongai rookie from Rutgers,
- 18:33Speaker 1: all right, I think he was either a Day three
- 18:37Speaker 1: like late Day three, or maybe a rookie free agent.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Twenty six carries for one hundred and seventy six yards
- 18:43Speaker 1: average six point eight yards per carry. Now I get it.
- 18:46Speaker 1: It's again against the Bengals. I'm not making a huge
- 18:49Speaker 1: deal of it, but what I am telling you is,
- 18:52Speaker 1: consistently this year, the Bears have run the ball very
- 18:56Speaker 1: well and the Giants are not very good at run defense.
- 19:00Speaker 1: So until that changes, I would expect the Bears to
- 19:02Speaker 1: be able to work their run game. I don't think
- 19:04Speaker 1: they're going to score forty seven points, but I would
- 19:07Speaker 1: expect them to be able to work that run game.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I think DeAndre Swift will be back, but don't wouldn't
- 19:12Speaker 1: surprise me if this became a fifty to fifty backfield.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Now committee sort of between DeAndre Swift and Kyle Manong
- 19:19Speaker 1: guy who was impressive in training camp. I mean there
- 19:21Speaker 1: was word that he was going to see a lot
- 19:23Speaker 1: more carries coming out of camp. DeAndre Swift got off
- 19:26Speaker 1: to a really good start. He is. Swift has almost
- 19:28Speaker 1: five hundred yards, so he's doing great. He's on pace
- 19:31Speaker 1: for a thousand yards. And Mananguy looks like he can
- 19:33Speaker 1: play too, So I would expect a whole heavy dose
- 19:36Speaker 1: of Manangay and Swift against that giant's defense.

- 21:05Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans. Twenty
- 21:08Speaker 1: one and up bills at Dolphins. Interesting week it's been
- 21:15Speaker 1: for the Dolphins, as they you know, are basically committed
- 21:19Speaker 1: to their head coach. They did not trade Jillen Waddle.
- 21:22Speaker 1: They did trade Jalen Phillips obviously to the Eagles. They
- 21:25Speaker 1: had that tough loss. Well not tough loss. I mean
- 21:28Speaker 1: it was they got destroyed by the Baltimore Ravens at home.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I think that was the either the Sunday or the
- 21:34Speaker 1: Monday night game, and it was not even competitive, and
- 21:38Speaker 1: everybody thought that McDaniel will get fired, and instead they
- 21:41Speaker 1: fired the GM They trade Jalen Phillips and away they go.
- 21:46Speaker 1: It looks like, look, I don't I get the decision.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I think that their issue the Dolphins is much more
- 21:51Speaker 1: of a roster issue. Their offensive line is terrible. Okay,
- 21:55Speaker 1: if you watch the Miami Dolphins, what they try to
- 21:58Speaker 1: do is they try to come out with a lot
- 22:00Speaker 1: of tight ends, full back. That's what the mcdan, you know,
- 22:03Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel, Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan offenses do. He runs
- 22:07Speaker 1: that kind of an offense. That's where he's from. And
- 22:09Speaker 1: they put a lot of tight ends and fullbacks on
- 22:11Speaker 1: the field. They're trying to get teams to respond in
- 22:14Speaker 1: base defense and you know, put six men at the
- 22:17Speaker 1: line of scrimmage, which is what teams typically do when
- 22:20Speaker 1: an offense does that. But nobody has respect for Miami's
- 22:23Speaker 1: running game, an offensive line and overall offense, so they
- 22:27Speaker 1: don't They play nickel anyway, and it doesn't help with
- 22:31Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel, who wants to create mismatches. He wants you
- 22:34Speaker 1: to have your base defense out. He wants to get
- 22:36Speaker 1: your nickel off the field. He wants to be able
- 22:38Speaker 1: to match up his running back, his tight end, his
- 22:41Speaker 1: slot guy on your linebacker instead of your nickel, and
- 22:45Speaker 1: nobody plays base defense against him. So it's been really
- 22:48Speaker 1: tough for him to run his offense. And of course
- 22:50Speaker 1: two has not played well, and he didn't play well
- 22:54Speaker 1: in that game. And I still wonder if there is
- 22:57Speaker 1: a quarterback switch coming, is it going to be Quinn,
- 22:59Speaker 1: youwers is it going to be someone else? Who knows?
- 23:02Speaker 1: But the Miami Dolphins right now are just not a
- 23:05Speaker 1: competitive team. They have a lot of work to do,
- 23:08Speaker 1: and unfortunately for them, they have the Bills on deck.
- 23:12Speaker 1: And the Bills are coming off two very impressive wins.
- 23:15Speaker 1: They came out of the Buy on It had lost
- 23:17Speaker 1: two straight games going in. They come out against the
- 23:20Speaker 1: Panthers boom forty to nine, come out against the Chiefs
- 23:24Speaker 1: right at home, and they beat the Chiefs twenty eight
- 23:27Speaker 1: twenty one. Their defense has been playing well. You got
- 23:29Speaker 1: to give them their defense a lot of credit. Offensively,
- 23:32Speaker 1: they do a lot of innovative things. They use an
- 23:34Speaker 1: enormous tight end who can catch the ball a little
- 23:36Speaker 1: bit hause, and they put them on the field and
- 23:38Speaker 1: they run out of that package, they pass out of
- 23:41Speaker 1: that package. It makes them very difficult to defend. They
- 23:44Speaker 1: are a very balanced or spread around offense, so kind
- 23:48Speaker 1: of like the Broncos. I do wonder deep into the
- 23:51Speaker 1: playoffs if the Bills really have enough. I thought that,
- 23:55Speaker 1: and I didn't write this in my winners and Loser story.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I didn't make them a lose, but I kind of
- 24:01Speaker 1: thought both the Chiefs and the Bills should have helped themselves.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I thought the Chiefs should have made a call or
- 24:07Speaker 1: an attempt, and maybe they did, but done something to
- 24:10Speaker 1: get a running back. With Isaiah Pacheco hurt and still
- 24:14Speaker 1: leaning on the age old Kareem Hunt call up for
- 24:18Speaker 1: Tony Pollard of the Titans call for Remandre. Well, then
- 24:21Speaker 1: the Patriots are going to trade Remandre. But you know,
- 24:24Speaker 1: call somebody who's not called the Dolphins. They have a
- 24:27Speaker 1: couple of running backs. Just I just thought that there
- 24:30Speaker 1: was a call the Browns see if they'll trade Jerome Ford.
- 24:33Speaker 1: There had to be somebody that was willing to give
- 24:35Speaker 1: up a better running back to the Chiefs for them
- 24:37Speaker 1: to really help out. I really thought Travis etn would
- 24:40Speaker 1: have been perfect, and I thought that the jack should
- 24:42Speaker 1: have been sellers. But they've convinced themselves of five and
- 24:45Speaker 1: three their buyers. We'll get to that in a little bit,
- 24:48Speaker 1: but anyway, the Bills, they spread it around, but they're
- 24:51Speaker 1: really sort of Dalton kickaid centric, you know, and then
- 24:55Speaker 1: everybody else gets like three, four or five passes. I
- 24:57Speaker 1: just don't know if that's going to be enough. Josh
- 25:00Speaker 1: been great as he usually is, and their offensive function
- 25:04Speaker 1: is just fine. They balanced the run the pass very well.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I just wonder if this team, which is trying to
- 25:11Speaker 1: get over the hump, trying to win a Super Bowl,
- 25:14Speaker 1: trying to finally beat Kansas City, and may have some
- 25:17Speaker 1: new faces in the mix here with the Colts, right,
- 25:20Speaker 1: I just wonder if they've got enough offensively when it
- 25:24Speaker 1: comes down to a divisional round, a conference championship to
- 25:28Speaker 1: really be able to light up the scoreboard if they
- 25:31Speaker 1: need to, because they always seem to have injuries on defense.
- 25:34Speaker 1: In fact, I think they've got a few with Epanessa
- 25:37Speaker 1: and Shaq Thompson in this game, which shouldn't matter much.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Eight and a half point favorites against the Dolphins, and
- 25:43Speaker 1: actually I think that's generous. Another one o'clock came is
- 25:47Speaker 1: the Ravens at the Vikings. Boys. This game is really interesting.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I mean the Ravens, they look like they're back. I
- 25:54Speaker 1: got Lamar back. You know, they had already won beat
- 25:57Speaker 1: the Bears the week before, and they just stomped on
- 25:59Speaker 1: the Dolphin. Now they got a chance to get to
- 26:02Speaker 1: four and five if they can go on the road
- 26:05Speaker 1: and beat the Vikings. And pretty much everybody's healthy for
- 26:08Speaker 1: the Ravens with Lamar back. In fact, I saw a
- 26:10Speaker 1: report on Wednesday, I think that the Ravens had no
- 26:13Speaker 1: injuries through report. That's an amazing turnaround for a team
- 26:16Speaker 1: that lost four straight games and five out of the
- 26:19Speaker 1: first six because they couldn't keep anybody healthy. So they
- 26:24Speaker 1: did make the trade for Draymont Jones. He will help
- 26:27Speaker 1: them in the pass rush. He's a good pass rusher,
- 26:29Speaker 1: not a great one, but a good one who should
- 26:31Speaker 1: fit in to what they do well. Their defense has
- 26:33Speaker 1: played better. They've only allowed twenty two points in their
- 26:36Speaker 1: last two games. But now they play a Vikings team
- 26:39Speaker 1: that is not yet ready to throw in the towel.
- 26:42Speaker 1: All right, They look like they were after they lost
- 26:44Speaker 1: to the Eagles and then lost to the Chargers back
- 26:46Speaker 1: to back. But they come back. JJ McCarthy gets in
- 26:49Speaker 1: there and it's not like McCarthy lit it up, but
- 26:52Speaker 1: they completely foiled the Lions offense in Detroit. You gotta
- 26:59Speaker 1: give Brian Flores of credit. I mean, he sent so
- 27:02Speaker 1: many blitzes. I saw somewhere where Jamir Gibbs had to
- 27:06Speaker 1: be kept in a lot because of how often, you know,
- 27:10Speaker 1: he had to be kept in for protection. And when
- 27:12Speaker 1: you can keep Jamir Gibbs, a weapon like that in
- 27:14Speaker 1: to protect and not run as many routes and you
- 27:18Speaker 1: can hold down that running game, you have a chance.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Everybody talks about Jared Goff in their pass game, but
- 27:23Speaker 1: their run game is what sets up everything. It has
- 27:26Speaker 1: ever since. Ben Johnson was their offensive coordinator. But the Vikings,
- 27:30Speaker 1: you gotta give him credit. They did an excellent job.
- 27:33Speaker 1: They won the game twenty seven to twenty four, and look,
- 27:36Speaker 1: can they beat the Ravens. It'll be a great game,
- 27:38Speaker 1: It'll be a great test. If they do, they'll be
- 27:40Speaker 1: five and four, and all of a sudden, that NFC
- 27:43Speaker 1: North with the Bears, with the Vikings, the Lions with
- 27:46Speaker 1: the Packers looks really super competitive. So great job by
- 27:51Speaker 1: Kevin O'Connell and Brian Flores. The Vikings are not out
- 27:54Speaker 1: of it. I don't know if they'll beat the Ravens.
- 27:57Speaker 1: The Ravens are four and a half point favorites in Minnesota,
- 28:00Speaker 1: but it would be sure exciting if they won that game.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And then as for the Ravens to get to four
- 28:07Speaker 1: and five, I mean, you'll feel great if you're a
- 28:09Speaker 1: raven fan or if you follow the Ravens, you're a
- 28:11Speaker 1: part of the Ravens, you'll feel great about their opportunity
- 28:15Speaker 1: to still win the AFC North at four and five.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Because the only team that you're really worried about is
- 28:21Speaker 1: the Steelers. You still gotta play them twice. The Bengals
- 28:24Speaker 1: are falling all over themselves. The Browns aren't good, So
- 28:26Speaker 1: the Ravens this is where they start their ascent, all right,
- 28:30Speaker 1: I mentioned the Browns. They are playing the Jets. You
- 28:32Speaker 1: a who cares game? I mean, if now I feel
- 28:36Speaker 1: bad for people who live in the Northeast like myself,
- 28:39Speaker 1: and because I assume I haven't checked, but with the
- 28:43Speaker 1: Eagles playing Monday night, I assume one of the one
- 28:45Speaker 1: o'clock games that people who live like in New Jersey,
- 28:48Speaker 1: like South Jersey, like me, you're gonna have to be
- 28:50Speaker 1: subjected to this Browns Jets game. I fear, and man,
- 28:56Speaker 1: I love watching any football, but you're asking watch a
- 29:00Speaker 1: Jets team that just won its first game. I mean, congratulations,
- 29:06Speaker 1: good job, Aaron Glenn. Nobody thought. People thought you were
- 29:08Speaker 1: gonna go and lose for the rest of the year.
- 29:11Speaker 1: You beat the Bengals thirty nine thirty eight, because everybody
- 29:14Speaker 1: right now is scoring thirty nine to forty five points
- 29:16Speaker 1: on the Bengals. But good job, all right, good job
- 29:18Speaker 1: you won the game.
- 29:21Speaker 2: And you know.
- 29:24Speaker 1: That's that's your feather in the cap, so to speak.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And now you've got to play the Browns. And by
- 29:33Speaker 1: the way, that game was two weeks ago against the Bengals.
- 29:35Speaker 1: They were coming out of the bye and now so
- 29:38Speaker 1: they get their gift against the Browns. But since then,
- 29:42Speaker 1: they've traded away Quinn Williams, traded away Sauce Gardner, and
- 29:46Speaker 1: they are obviously in a complete total teardown. Not total teardown,
- 29:50Speaker 1: they didn't trade Priest Holloway, they didn't trade Garrett Wilson.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I don't know if anybody else was attractive, but both.
- 29:59Speaker 1: This is interesting because teams are coming off the buy,
- 30:01Speaker 1: so we'll see. I mean the Browns, I know Kevin
- 30:05Speaker 1: Stefanski has given up play calling. They just they have
- 30:08Speaker 1: outside of Quinchawn Judkins, they don't have much offensively. The
- 30:12Speaker 1: Browns are actually two and a half point favorites. I
- 30:15Speaker 1: don't know who to tell you that is going to
- 30:16Speaker 1: win this game. I kind of think the Jets have
- 30:20Speaker 1: more playmakers between Breise Hall Garrett Wilson. You know, one
- 30:25Speaker 1: thing that's interesting about Justin Fields is he's having a
- 30:27Speaker 1: terrible year, but he's not thrown an interception all year long.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I know he don't throw the ball a whole lot,
- 30:32Speaker 1: but he doesn't throw one interception all year long. So
- 30:37Speaker 1: for the Browns to be two and a half point
- 30:38Speaker 1: favorites a little suspect to me. But obviously their defense
- 30:41Speaker 1: is great and it would not surprise me if this
- 30:43Speaker 1: was like a six to two type of game. One o'clock,
- 30:48Speaker 1: we got the Patriots, the white hot, scorching New England
- 30:54Speaker 1: Patriots at the Buccaneers Now, this is one of those
- 30:57Speaker 1: games that I was talking about, where all right, that's
- 31:00Speaker 1: a good game, and we got Ravens, Vikings, we got
- 31:04Speaker 1: we got Patriots Buccaneers. That's a good game. So if
- 31:08Speaker 1: you're you're hoping to get those a chance to watch
- 31:10Speaker 1: those games if you can, if you got the NFL ticket.
- 31:13Speaker 1: The Patriots are seven and two. Now, the interesting thing
- 31:17Speaker 1: about the Patriots, all right, Drake May takes a ton
- 31:20Speaker 1: of hits. He gets hit a lot, but he can
- 31:23Speaker 1: really rip it. And they've won won two, three, four,
- 31:27Speaker 1: six straight games, all right, just behind only the Denver
- 31:30Speaker 1: Proncos for the longest win streak in the league. They
- 31:33Speaker 1: are seven and two. They tend to play some close games,
- 31:38Speaker 1: you know, the twenty five nineteen over the Saints, twenty
- 31:41Speaker 1: four to twenty three over the Falcons. Still don't know
- 31:43Speaker 1: how they lost their Raiders in Week one, but as
- 31:45Speaker 1: I always say, week one is a con job. But
- 31:48Speaker 1: you gotta really like the development of Drake May. Now
- 31:53Speaker 1: I think they're down a wide receiver in this game,
- 31:55Speaker 1: might be Kishan Boody, So that's that's a little bit
- 31:58Speaker 1: tough for May. There's also gonna be down Ramandra Stevenson
- 32:03Speaker 1: so it'll be more Travion Henderson, who started to look better.
- 32:06Speaker 1: That is the big takeaway from the Patriots at Travion Henderson.
- 32:10Speaker 1: He had fifty five rushers on fourteen carries against the Falcons.
- 32:14Speaker 1: He caught a couple of about thirty two more yards,
- 32:16Speaker 1: so he almost gave you about ninety yards of offense
- 32:20Speaker 1: in that game. We'll see if Kyle Williams, who's their
- 32:23Speaker 1: rookie third round pick, starts to play a bigger role
- 32:26Speaker 1: for them with Booty out. But this will be a
- 32:29Speaker 1: really fascinating game. They're playing a Tampa Bay Bucks team
- 32:33Speaker 1: that is not only six and two and very good,
- 32:37Speaker 1: and I believe they are the favorites. They are probably
- 32:40Speaker 1: two and a half point favorites. But the problem with them,
- 32:43Speaker 1: and I could have sworn coming out of the bye
- 32:45Speaker 1: week they were gonna be healthier, but they really aren't.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Sounds like they're still gonna be without Chris Godwin with
- 32:51Speaker 1: the fibula, still gonna be without Bucky Irving with I
- 32:55Speaker 1: think he's got a foot or ankle issue. And they've
- 32:59Speaker 1: been out without those guys for a while, and of
- 33:00Speaker 1: course they don't have Evans. Now I'm expecting that they're
- 33:06Speaker 1: rookie a Mecha Agbuka, who's been fantastic all year long,
- 33:10Speaker 1: will be better from the hamstring injury. I mean, he
- 33:13Speaker 1: hasn't missed any time, but you know that when you're
- 33:15Speaker 1: dealing with the hamstring, it doesn't make you who you are.
- 33:17Speaker 1: But kids got five hundred and sixty two yards and
- 33:20Speaker 1: five touchdowns on thirty four catches. He's been great and
- 33:24Speaker 1: they are gonna need absolutely all of him, and Kate
- 33:27Speaker 1: Totten and Rashad White, who is not a great running
- 33:31Speaker 1: back but he can catch the ball, and this is
- 33:33Speaker 1: a real challenge for the Buccaneers. I think the Patriots
- 33:36Speaker 1: are really advanced and much better than they are last year.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I don't know. I know they beat the Bills earlier
- 33:43Speaker 1: in this year, but there's still a little bit of
- 33:45Speaker 1: an up and down team. And I always say the
- 33:47Speaker 1: more games you win in a row in the NFL,
- 33:50Speaker 1: the closer you are to your first loss. So I
- 33:53Speaker 1: wouldn't be surprised if you put a gun to my head.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Even with their injuries, I think the Buccaneers are are
- 34:00Speaker 1: probably going to win this one. We'll see. They've played
- 34:03Speaker 1: really well even with all the injuries that they've had
- 34:05Speaker 1: all year. You got to give him credit. The Buccaneers
- 34:08Speaker 1: may be a top three team in the NFC. That's
- 34:11Speaker 1: how well they've played this year. So it's a great game.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Should be fun. I like the Buccaneers, all right. Saints
- 34:19Speaker 1: at Panthers. Tyler Schuck made his debut last week. He
- 34:23Speaker 1: was their second round pick. Obviously, it didn't go great
- 34:27Speaker 1: as you would expect a quarterback making his debut. They placed,
- 34:31Speaker 1: They played the Rams, and the Rams just completely dominated
- 34:34Speaker 1: that game. Matthew staffords on some kind of heater by
- 34:37Speaker 1: the way. I mean, they weren't going to win that game.
- 34:39Speaker 1: And now they have another road game, the Saints against
- 34:42Speaker 1: the Panthers team that you have to again, you've got
- 34:45Speaker 1: to give this coaching staff credit, just like the Vikings. Right,
- 34:50Speaker 1: the Panthers looked like they were one of the worst
- 34:52Speaker 1: teams in football after the first few weeks. I mean,
- 34:57Speaker 1: they couldn't throw a forward pass. That's how bright bad
- 35:00Speaker 1: Bryce Shong was. For the first four weeks. They were
- 35:02Speaker 1: one and three, and then they beat the Dolphins, and
- 35:05Speaker 1: then they beat the Cowboys. That was the big one
- 35:07Speaker 1: where Rico Dawdle just went, you know, insane. Beat the Jets.
- 35:13Speaker 1: All right, no one, No, you don't get too much
- 35:15Speaker 1: credit for beating the Jets. But when you're the Panthers
- 35:16Speaker 1: and you're just trying to scratch and claw your way back,
- 35:20Speaker 1: and you win a game like that to get over
- 35:21Speaker 1: five hundred, then you go lose to the Bills, which
- 35:24Speaker 1: everybody says, all right, you're the Panthers again because you
- 35:26Speaker 1: get crushed forty to nineteen. How about the resolve to
- 35:29Speaker 1: go into Green Bay, in to Green Bay last week
- 35:34Speaker 1: and win sixteen thirteen. Now, Dave Canalis, their coach, they
- 35:39Speaker 1: learned a lesson. The lesson was, even with Chuba Hubbard
- 35:42Speaker 1: back This is now the Rico Dawdle Show, and I
- 35:45Speaker 1: heard him say during the week that they basically have
- 35:48Speaker 1: to confront the fact that even though they gave Chuba Hubbard,
- 35:51Speaker 1: who's a good running back, one of them, it's been
- 35:53Speaker 1: fine for what I know is a good guy, good
- 35:55Speaker 1: you know, well liked they gave him that contract extension.
- 36:00Speaker 1: But Rico Dowdele, I mean twenty five carries for one
- 36:03Speaker 1: hundred and thirty yards, two touchdowns five point two or
- 36:06Speaker 1: carry two more catches, I mean, doesn't catching the ball?
- 36:09Speaker 1: Isn't this thing. He's had some big catches this year.
- 36:11Speaker 1: It's not his thing, but he and the Panthers running
- 36:14Speaker 1: game is rock solid right now. It's one of the
- 36:17Speaker 1: best in the league. They can run the rock. And
- 36:20Speaker 1: they're going to go into New Orleans, which sometimes can
- 36:22Speaker 1: be a tough place to play because of the crowd,
- 36:24Speaker 1: but the Saints are no good. The crowd will be
- 36:26Speaker 1: out of it, and because it's a nice indoor fast
- 36:29Speaker 1: track that I would expect him to run all over
- 36:33Speaker 1: the Saints and look for Rico Dawdle to continue. He
- 36:35Speaker 1: was a little banged up miss some practice this week,
- 36:38Speaker 1: but he's been one of those kind of fun storylines
- 36:41Speaker 1: for the NFL season so far, and I would expect
- 36:44Speaker 1: him to go right into New Orleans and keep that
- 36:46Speaker 1: streak going of just piling up the rushing yards. And
- 36:50Speaker 1: look the Panthers chance for them to get to six
- 36:52Speaker 1: and four if they don't. If they don't get to
- 36:54Speaker 1: six and four and they don't win this game, they
- 36:57Speaker 1: are the same old Panthers. Because if there's gonna be
- 36:59Speaker 1: a team that it's gonna threaten the Bucks here in
- 37:01Speaker 1: the NSC South, it hasn't been the Falcons, though it'll
- 37:04Speaker 1: be then certainly not gonna be the Saints. This is
- 37:07Speaker 1: the Panthers opportunity. We'll see if they sees it. Five
- 37:11Speaker 1: and a half point favorites in New Orleans, all right,
- 37:14Speaker 1: A lot of road favorites, by the way, so far
- 37:17Speaker 1: in this this week Jaguars at Texans. So I said
- 37:21Speaker 1: this before, don't I don't like this Jaguars team, not
- 37:25Speaker 1: one bit. I don't know if people realize this, but
- 37:28Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence has the worst passer rating among all starting
- 37:32Speaker 1: quarterbacks and including some backup quarterbacks who've been forced into
- 37:35Speaker 1: action this year. It's around like seventy four point one.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I think it was. They're five and three, but man,
- 37:42Speaker 1: they're lousy. Honestly, they're not fun to watch. They have
- 37:46Speaker 1: no cohesion on offense. Brian Thomas Junior is gonna be
- 37:49Speaker 1: out of this game, so they're already down there, down
- 37:52Speaker 1: another receiver. They've already been banged up at receiver. It
- 37:54Speaker 1: seems like every year the Jaguars have new receivers and
- 37:57Speaker 1: none of them are good or work out. I mean,
- 38:00Speaker 1: they needed they needed Parker Washington. By the way, I'm
- 38:05Speaker 1: a Parker Washington fan because he went to Penn State
- 38:07Speaker 1: where I went. I know Parker Washington is a good, reliable,
- 38:10Speaker 1: dependable receiver, but even they didn't get sort of suckerated
- 38:14Speaker 1: into thinking that he's a savior. They went out and
- 38:17Speaker 1: traded for Jacobi Myers. I know they have a ton
- 38:20Speaker 1: of draft picks. Jaguars have a ton of draft picks,
- 38:22Speaker 1: have a very young GM so he wants he wants
- 38:26Speaker 1: to in his first year, and Liam Cohen, the head coach,
- 38:29Speaker 1: in their first year. They want to show you that
- 38:30Speaker 1: they got something to believe in, all right, So they
- 38:33Speaker 1: go and trade draft picks for a slot receiver in
- 38:37Speaker 1: Myers who's going to be a free agent at the
- 38:39Speaker 1: end of the year. That makes no sense to me.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I know Travis Hunter is hurt. That was part of
- 38:43Speaker 1: being banged up that I talked about. So they need
- 38:45Speaker 1: a guy for the slot and they don't want to
- 38:47Speaker 1: rely just on Parker Washington. Breton Strange has been hurt.
- 38:51Speaker 1: They beat the Raiders last week thirty to twenty nine
- 38:54Speaker 1: to go from four to three to five to three,
- 38:55Speaker 1: and now they're acting like they're a team to be
- 38:57Speaker 1: reckoned with. So they go out in trade for a
- 39:00Speaker 1: slot receiver. I honestly think that it would have been
- 39:04Speaker 1: better for them in the long haul to be sellers
- 39:07Speaker 1: than buyers, or to just keep on hold on to
- 39:09Speaker 1: their draft picks. And you know, if they had a
- 39:11Speaker 1: chance to move etn for something, then maybe they should
- 39:14Speaker 1: have thought about it. But they didn't. And now they're
- 39:17Speaker 1: gonna go and play a Texans team that is gonna
- 39:20Speaker 1: be on Davis Mills. And look, the Jacks could win
- 39:23Speaker 1: this game and get to six and three, and again
- 39:26Speaker 1: it's gonna look like they're going somewhere and they're a force.
- 39:29Speaker 1: They won't be. This Texans team isn't good. They come
- 39:31Speaker 1: off an eighteen fifteen loss to the Broncos. Stroud got hurt,
- 39:35Speaker 1: Mills will be the quarterback. I don't think that actually
- 39:37Speaker 1: matters that much. And I'm not trying to say that
- 39:39Speaker 1: Mills is as good as CJ. Stroud, but he is
- 39:42Speaker 1: an experienced backup. Stroud's good. But this offense just doesn't
- 39:47Speaker 1: have anything right now to be excited about. The offensive
- 39:51Speaker 1: line still a mess. Nico Collins is okay, but the
- 39:54Speaker 1: two rookies that they drafted have not played very well.
- 39:57Speaker 1: This is another classic seventeen to thirty type of game.
- 40:01Speaker 1: And by the way, either team could win it. And
- 40:03Speaker 1: by the way, again, Jaguars one and a half point
- 40:07Speaker 1: favorites in Texans in Houston. By the way, the Texans
- 40:10Speaker 1: were like home favorites against the Broncos last week. That's
- 40:14Speaker 1: what's weird. The Texans were favored to be the Broncos
- 40:17Speaker 1: at home, so maybe you figured, hey, they were at home,
- 40:19Speaker 1: they're getting the benefit of out. Well they're home again
- 40:21Speaker 1: and they're playing the Jaguars, who have a worse record
- 40:25Speaker 1: than the Broncos, and yet they are underdogs. So I
- 40:29Speaker 1: don't get it. I don't know how that's working. Something
- 40:32Speaker 1: smarter than me has to be able to explain that.
- 40:35Speaker 1: But that is the deal. And I expect this to
- 40:38Speaker 1: be a very low scoring game, and I wouldn't be
- 40:41Speaker 1: surprised if the Texans won in a really ugly game
- 40:44Speaker 1: and the Jaguars true colors were revealed. By the way,
- 40:48Speaker 1: I talked about Lawrence nine touchdowns, six interceptions this year,
- 40:51Speaker 1: just a bad offensive team going up against a very
- 40:55Speaker 1: good defensive team. But that is also a bad offensive team.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Might be another seven to three. Hey it's Jeff Mosher.
- 41:01Speaker 1: And if you have a family and kids at home,
- 41:03Speaker 1: like me, you always want them to be fully protected.

- 43:42Speaker 1: let's get to the four o'clock games. Cardinals at Seahawks. Now,
- 43:46Speaker 1: this game's a little interesting, right, So Jonathan Gannon comes
- 43:49Speaker 1: out and says, Kyler Murray still still not ready, still
- 43:52Speaker 1: has got to get healthy. Jacoby Presset is going to
- 43:55Speaker 1: continue to be the starter percent gets the Cardinals a
- 43:58Speaker 1: win against the Cowboy is pretty convincing. One to twenty
- 44:02Speaker 1: seven to seventeen, stops their five game losing streak and
- 44:06Speaker 1: gets them to three and five. And it seemed like
- 44:08Speaker 1: the Cardinals are just this terrible team, because they were,
- 44:11Speaker 1: you know, at one point two and five. But as
- 44:13Speaker 1: I've been saying week after week after week, every single
- 44:17Speaker 1: one of those losses was by five or fewer points.
- 44:20Speaker 1: All right, this is the the most on the Precipice
- 44:24Speaker 1: team there is in the NFL, and they just needed
- 44:27Speaker 1: a little bit more functionality on offense. And hey, look
- 44:31Speaker 1: at what percent has done. You know, they scored twenty
- 44:34Speaker 1: seven against the Cowboys, who have a bad defense. Fine,
- 44:37Speaker 1: but they did score twenty three against the Packers, twenty
- 44:39Speaker 1: seven against the Colts. They lost those games, but they
- 44:42Speaker 1: were starting to score points.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Now.
- 44:44Speaker 1: The unfortunate thing for the Cardinals is they are down
- 44:47Speaker 1: two cornerbacks and they're about to play a Seahawks team
- 44:51Speaker 1: that I thought had an amazing tread trade deadline, adding
- 44:55Speaker 1: Rashi Jaheed to an offense that is already maybe the
- 44:59Speaker 1: mos I'm sure analytically it is. If you look at
- 45:01Speaker 1: the their EPA and things like that EPA per drop
- 45:05Speaker 1: back past, what Sam Donald is doing on play action,
- 45:09Speaker 1: his yards per attempt, they're all number of This is
- 45:11Speaker 1: the this is analytically the best pass offense in the
- 45:17Speaker 1: National Football League. Donald's sixteen touchdowns, two thousand yards already,
- 45:22Speaker 1: Jackson Smith and Jigba has nine hundred and forty eight
- 45:24Speaker 1: receiving yards already. And the one thing I had said
- 45:27Speaker 1: about the Seahawks was I just they're almost a little
- 45:30Speaker 1: bit too reliant on Smith and jig But it's been working,
- 45:33Speaker 1: but if you want to be a better team in
- 45:34Speaker 1: the playoffs, you kind of need more. Like I said
- 45:37Speaker 1: about the Broncos, you need more, and bam, they go
- 45:39Speaker 1: get Rashid Shahid, who is not only one of the
- 45:42Speaker 1: league's best deep threats, but he played for the Seahawks
- 45:45Speaker 1: offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak, who was the Saints offensive coordinator
- 45:50Speaker 1: last year, so he should know the offense should fit
- 45:53Speaker 1: in well. Now he doesn't get the benefit of playing
- 45:55Speaker 1: in the dome, track speed, all that stuff. We'll see.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I haven't looked Split's to see what kind of receiver
- 46:01Speaker 1: shaheat has been outside, but the bottom line is he's
- 46:04Speaker 1: He's just better than what they were throwing out there.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I mean, Cooper Cup's been not the same guy and
- 46:09Speaker 1: dealing with injuries. They have a nice rookie and Tory
- 46:12Speaker 1: Horton who's probably gonna also see some more time. But man,
- 46:17Speaker 1: I thought that was a great move for the Seahawks
- 46:20Speaker 1: and the Cardinals are going in there. Seahawks are six
- 46:23Speaker 1: and a half point five six and a half point favorites.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I think it'll be pretty close because the Cardinals play
- 46:29Speaker 1: good football, but being down two cornerbacks against This prolific
- 46:34Speaker 1: pass offense to me, is gonna make the difference, and
- 46:36Speaker 1: I think, I think this will be close. But I
- 46:38Speaker 1: could see Seattle pulling away a little bit in the
- 46:42Speaker 1: fourth quarter, just a couple of backbreaking plays through the
- 46:45Speaker 1: air because Sam Darnold is on some heater right now.
- 46:49Speaker 1: And speaking of we get to the Rams at the
- 46:53Speaker 1: forty nine Ers. Another really exciting game and yet again
- 46:56Speaker 1: another road favorite, another whole underdog. The forty nine Ers
- 47:01Speaker 1: are four and a half point dogs at home. Sounds
- 47:04Speaker 1: like Purty is getting better, but it's still gonna be
- 47:07Speaker 1: the mac Jones show. It's I don't know if they're
- 47:11Speaker 1: gonna have Pierce all back. Listen. They've been getting by
- 47:14Speaker 1: the last few weeks. Finally with McCaffrey, who has been
- 47:17Speaker 1: an unbelievable What a bounce back season for Christian McCaffrey.
- 47:21Speaker 1: I mean, when he's healthy, he's great. That's just the
- 47:23Speaker 1: reality of it. It just struggles with health. But obviously
- 47:26Speaker 1: they beat the Giants last week thirty four, twenty four,
- 47:28Speaker 1: and they had a big game ada McCaffrey, as a
- 47:31Speaker 1: lot of teams do against the Giants, and you know,
- 47:33Speaker 1: even Brian Robinson got in on there Mac Jones. Give
- 47:37Speaker 1: him a lot of credit. It is amazing to me.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I think I said this either last show or the
- 47:41Speaker 1: show before. These guys who were drafted by bad offensive
- 47:46Speaker 1: teams or bad offensive coaches putting bad environments. Do you
- 47:50Speaker 1: all remember the game that Mac Jones played in New
- 47:52Speaker 1: England as a rookie where it was so gusty that
- 47:55Speaker 1: Bill Belichick only let him throw the ball I think
- 47:57Speaker 1: two times the entire game. I mean, you could say, hey,
- 48:03Speaker 1: it was great strategy, he wasn't ready, But I mean,
- 48:05Speaker 1: I don't know what kind of message that sends to
- 48:07Speaker 1: a young quarterback when you're only allowed to throw the
- 48:09Speaker 1: ball two times? Why even start him if you're going
- 48:11Speaker 1: and allow him to throw the ball that many times.
- 48:15Speaker 1: But again, just like Baker Mayfield, just like Sam Darnold,
- 48:20Speaker 1: just like other guys who have come through the McVeigh,
- 48:23Speaker 1: the Kevin O'Connell, the Shanahan tree. Here you are seeing
- 48:29Speaker 1: seeing what happens with Mac Jones. He has been a
- 48:31Speaker 1: good functional quarterback for them, makes the throws that they
- 48:35Speaker 1: need to make, and they have far exceeded everybody's expectations
- 48:41Speaker 1: at six and three. Think about their injuries, they lost Bosa,
- 48:44Speaker 1: they lost Fred Warner, they lost even last week. I
- 48:48Speaker 1: think they lost another guy, Michael Williams. They had Bryce
- 48:50Speaker 1: hoff out for a while. Michael Williams their impressive rookie
- 48:54Speaker 1: from Georgia. They are just completely decimated on defense. But
- 49:00Speaker 1: they are six and three playing well. But I think
- 49:02Speaker 1: their luck runs out on Sunday because they're playing against
- 49:05Speaker 1: a Rams team right now that is just absolutely on fire.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Stafford has been playing lights out. Granted they just beat
- 49:15Speaker 1: the Saints, but he had four touchdowns in that game.
- 49:17Speaker 1: The week before he had five, So I think he
- 49:20Speaker 1: leads the NFL in touchdown passes. They run the ball
- 49:24Speaker 1: well with Kyun Williams and Blake corn Is now added
- 49:27Speaker 1: to the mix. Pukakua is healthy, Nicoua and Adams give
- 49:31Speaker 1: them all the receiving they need. Plus Higbee the tight end.
- 49:34Speaker 1: He's a good player. He gets in there, does some things.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I mean their and their defense. And by the way
- 49:40Speaker 1: I think the Rams made I put them in my
- 49:42Speaker 1: winners at the trade deadline category. A lot of people
- 49:45Speaker 1: forgot they traded for Roger McCreery, a very good nickel corner,
- 49:50Speaker 1: and what that's going to allow them to do is
- 49:52Speaker 1: take Quinton Lake, who you might remember when he played
- 49:54Speaker 1: against the Eagles earlier. He plays everywhere. He is like
- 49:57Speaker 1: a chess piece in the back end. He will now
- 50:00Speaker 1: be moving all around and finding the matchup that works
- 50:04Speaker 1: best for Chris Shula, who has done an excellent job
- 50:07Speaker 1: with this defense. And it just make their defensive back end,
- 50:11Speaker 1: which is shaky at the outside corner, but they compensate
- 50:15Speaker 1: because they have a great front four rush. They have
- 50:18Speaker 1: really do a lot of stuff on the back end,
- 50:19Speaker 1: confused quarterbacks. Defense has been very solid. They've allowed in
- 50:23Speaker 1: their last three games, they've allowed twenty points. All right,
- 50:27Speaker 1: They've only allowed more than twenty five points twice this year. Okay,
- 50:32Speaker 1: so that just shows you how good that they've been.
- 50:35Speaker 1: They're going to beat the forty nine ers this week.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I like that what the Niners have been able to do.
- 50:39Speaker 1: But the Rams are on a heck of a run
- 50:41Speaker 1: right now. They might be the best team in the NFC.
- 50:44Speaker 1: They might. If they win, they'll be seven to two
- 50:46Speaker 1: and they'll have every right to say that they are
- 50:50Speaker 1: Lions Commanders. Yes, again, we have home underdog, and for
- 50:55Speaker 1: obvious reasons, the Commanders, you know, they got good news
- 50:58Speaker 1: and that Jaydon Daniels is not going to go on.
- 51:00Speaker 1: I are, but they're just full of injuries. They don't
- 51:04Speaker 1: have enough. Now. The one thing I'll say is that
- 51:07Speaker 1: the Lions clearly they had some offensive line injuries and
- 51:12Speaker 1: they haven't played to their fullest all year long. They've
- 51:15Speaker 1: played good and spurts. You know, for them to go
- 51:19Speaker 1: and lose that game against Minnesota was sort of surprising.
- 51:22Speaker 1: I know they had some offensive line injuries, and I
- 51:25Speaker 1: talked about Gibbs. They're gonna beat the Commanders, but they're
- 51:29Speaker 1: not the same team all the time on grass outdoors.
- 51:33Speaker 1: So will I score thirty five forty points like we've
- 51:37Speaker 1: become accustomed to doing. We'll say maybe, because the Commanders
- 51:40Speaker 1: are just that bad right now. Latimore is out for
- 51:42Speaker 1: the year. I mean, everybody, everybody the Commanders relied on
- 51:45Speaker 1: this year is basically hurt. So you know, the Lions
- 51:49Speaker 1: are seven and a half point favorites. It'll probably win
- 51:50Speaker 1: by fifteen or twenty. I could see it the night
- 51:53Speaker 1: game eight twenty Sunday night. You got your Steelers at Chargers.
- 52:00Speaker 1: The Steelers are amazing. I mean they're I think they're
- 52:02Speaker 1: gonna win this game and get to six and three,
- 52:04Speaker 1: even though I don't like him one bit, and it's
- 52:07Speaker 1: basically because the Chargers to me, even on their two
- 52:11Speaker 1: game win streak, sometimes you see things that happen and
- 52:14Speaker 1: you say, I don't like that. And they lost Joe
- 52:17Speaker 1: Allt their left tackle. They had already lost for Shawn
- 52:19Speaker 1: Slater their other left tackle in the preseason, so they're
- 52:23Speaker 1: down to two of their offense. They are two offensive
- 52:26Speaker 1: tackles who are both first round picks and very good.
- 52:29Speaker 1: And we know that they don't have Omari and Hampton left.
- 52:32Speaker 1: And what this team wants to do is run and
- 52:35Speaker 1: play defense, and they want to they're more willing now
- 52:39Speaker 1: to open up the pass offense. Justin Herbert has been great,
- 52:43Speaker 1: you know, Lad McConkie's been good. They've got this rookie
- 52:45Speaker 1: tight end, Ronde Gadson. He's catching five to ten passes
- 52:49Speaker 1: a week. He's added to their their passing game. Of course,
- 52:53Speaker 1: Quentin Johnson's having his best year. They've had to throw
- 52:56Speaker 1: the ball quite a bit, and that's how they beat
- 52:58Speaker 1: the Vikings, and that's how they beat the Titans, all right,
- 53:01Speaker 1: But they only beat the Titans twenty seven to twenty
- 53:03Speaker 1: and we know it's not a good Titans team, and
- 53:05Speaker 1: I just think the loss of those two offensive linemen
- 53:08Speaker 1: and not having a run game with Omarian Hampton. I
- 53:12Speaker 1: think this is going to hurt them in the long run,
- 53:14Speaker 1: and it wouldn't surprise me if it hurt them this
- 53:17Speaker 1: Sunday night against the Steelers, and that was kind of
- 53:20Speaker 1: the start of what you might see of the try.
- 53:23Speaker 1: I don't want to call it a complete downfall of
- 53:25Speaker 1: the Chargers, but I think offensively, I worry about them
- 53:30Speaker 1: when they lose their identity. Their identity is run the ball,
- 53:33Speaker 1: run the ball, workoff play action, and not drop back
- 53:38Speaker 1: forty times with Justin Herbert. But they may have to
- 53:41Speaker 1: drop back forty times with Justin Herbert, and although he's
- 53:44Speaker 1: had a good year, I just think that that is
- 53:47Speaker 1: not their recipe for success. The Chargers are two and
- 53:49Speaker 1: a half point favorites. If there's an upset of the
- 53:52Speaker 1: week that I'm gonna pick, then it would be the
- 53:54Speaker 1: Steelers to go in there and win that game. Steelers
- 53:56Speaker 1: are probably feeling pretty good about beating the Colts, and
- 53:59Speaker 1: I just think that some injuries become debilitating, and even
- 54:03Speaker 1: if the Chargers win by the way next week, I'm
- 54:05Speaker 1: gonna tell you that I still am worried about this team,
- 54:10Speaker 1: that team losing their identity and what it's going to
- 54:12Speaker 1: mean for them going forward. All Right, Obviously, the Monday
- 54:18Speaker 1: night game is Eagles Packers. As I mentioned, I had
- 54:20Speaker 1: that we'll have that all covered on the inside the
- 54:22Speaker 1: Birds pregame show with myself, Greg Cosell Adam Kaplan, and
- 54:27Speaker 1: we'll go through everything the way it needs to. All Right,
- 54:31Speaker 1: it is already time to get to the picks. Okay,
- 54:36Speaker 1: I am going to start off my picks with a
- 54:39Speaker 1: correction because it involves one of the games I just previewed.
- 54:44Speaker 1: I believe I said that the Panthers were on the
- 54:46Speaker 1: road and would be in New Orleans, but they're actually
- 54:50Speaker 1: at home. Doesn't really change how I feel, and I'll
- 54:53Speaker 1: get to that in a second. But I think I
- 54:56Speaker 1: said that, you know, on a fast track in a dome,
- 54:58Speaker 1: Rico Daddle could go a great game. But that game
- 55:01Speaker 1: is in Carolina, So I just wanted to make that correction.
- 55:06Speaker 1: So Carolina is five and a half point home favorites.
- 55:10Speaker 1: That is not a road favorite situation. Last week, I
- 55:15Speaker 1: did not have a good week. I went one and two.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I broke my streak out a come about two or
- 55:19Speaker 1: three weeks agoing where I was two and one. Still
- 55:23Speaker 1: have yet got to get to three and now I
- 55:24Speaker 1: haven't done that yet. But yeah, last week I went
- 55:28Speaker 1: one and two. I won on the bro I took
- 55:30Speaker 1: the Broncos getting the points in Houston. I thought that
- 55:33Speaker 1: that was easy, and of course the Broncos won the
- 55:36Speaker 1: game out right, and they were getting two and a half.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I lost on the Patriots four and a half point
- 55:41Speaker 1: favorites over the Falcons. That was a closer game. And
- 55:44Speaker 1: I lost on the Colts three and a half point
- 55:46Speaker 1: favorites over the Steelers. Lost as obviously the Steelers won
- 55:50Speaker 1: that game all right. So this week here's what I like.
- 55:55Speaker 1: I like the Lions, even with the seven and a
- 55:57Speaker 1: half against Commanders. Commanders is just so be up. I
- 56:00Speaker 1: think the Lions are gonna be pretty annoyed about losing
- 56:02Speaker 1: that game against the Vikings and probably unleash some havoc
- 56:06Speaker 1: on a very banged up Commanders team. I could see
- 56:09Speaker 1: them winning by multiple touchdowns. I will take the Panthers
- 56:13Speaker 1: five and a half at home against the Saints. I
- 56:16Speaker 1: think that they're playing well and that they know coming
- 56:20Speaker 1: off that win against Green Bay. Could they revert a
- 56:23Speaker 1: little bit and be the Panthers that we all see. Maybe,
- 56:25Speaker 1: but I just don't think the Saints are gonna have enough,
- 56:27Speaker 1: So I like, I think the Panthers recognize they have
- 56:29Speaker 1: an opportunity here to really improve, get two games over
- 56:32Speaker 1: five hundred and make some noise in the NFC South.
- 56:35Speaker 1: And They've got their rushing offense figured out. And I'm
- 56:38Speaker 1: gonna take the Bears at home four and a half
- 56:40Speaker 1: point favorites over the Giants. The Giants have a lot
- 56:42Speaker 1: of injuries, and they don't stop the run well and
- 56:44Speaker 1: the Bears run well. I mean, it's very dangerous and
- 56:47Speaker 1: risky to take the Bears ever, because they're just so
- 56:51Speaker 1: up and down, But I just like the I like
- 56:55Speaker 1: their ability to move the ball at home against the
- 56:57Speaker 1: Giants four and a half. You know, it wouldn't surprise
- 57:01Speaker 1: me if the Bear didn't cover and won. It didn't cover,
- 57:03Speaker 1: and I take an l on it, but I figure
- 57:06Speaker 1: that they can probably beat the Giants by seven to ten.
- 57:08Speaker 1: And those are my picks for the week. I hope
- 57:11Speaker 1: you guys do as well, if not better than I do.
- 57:15Speaker 1: And as I always say, enjoy your football watching,
