- 2:07Speaker 1: you call it?
- 2:08Speaker 2: Two for Real Snack Spectacular.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Two for Real Snacks Spectacular? What was going on? This
- 2:14Speaker 1: sounds like something you was doing in elementary But take
- 2:16Speaker 1: me back.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Yeah, so my mama used to be at work all day,
- 2:19Speaker 4: so I used to get home. I used to be hungry.
- 2:21Speaker 4: She used to be like, go in there and cook something,
- 2:23Speaker 4: and like I ain't really be wanting to wait on
- 2:26Speaker 4: like to unthrow the meat or like you know what
- 2:29Speaker 4: I'm saying, I'm not gonna make no mashed potatoes and
- 2:31Speaker 4: all that, Like I'm not doing that, so you feel me.
- 2:34Speaker 1: We always have a seasoning the water.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah, for the ramen. Yeah?
- 2:38Speaker 1: Are you? But you already put the.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Man.
- 2:42Speaker 1: This is interesting, just so you guys, don't. I don't
- 2:44Speaker 1: even think he put the noodles.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Did you put the noodles in?
- 2:48Speaker 1: He's over there, he used I gotta recap it for
- 2:51Speaker 1: the listeners. He took the ramen season garlic, put it
- 2:55Speaker 1: in the water. He put garlic salt, Tony's dash and Lawry's. Now,
- 3:01Speaker 1: if you're all familiar with ramen, which I hope you are,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I want to I literally want to take a spoon.
- 3:07Speaker 1: We don't even have utensils out here. Damn, what do
- 3:11Speaker 1: I want to try? How salty this water is going
- 3:13Speaker 1: to be. It's going I've never seen someone season on
- 3:17Speaker 1: top of ramen season.
- 3:18Speaker 2: It's going to observe you just use the ramen. That
- 3:23Speaker 2: ain't enough?
- 3:25Speaker 1: Clearly, Okay, so you was doing this? Clear what age
- 3:29Speaker 1: were you doing this?
- 3:31Speaker 2: I probably started making this when I was like ten.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Okay, okay, so ten? Is it a single mom home?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Do you have siblings?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:37Speaker 4: But I was I'm the youngest, so I was always
- 3:40Speaker 4: really by myself a lot I'm a lot younger than
- 3:42Speaker 4: my sisters and stuff.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I just but they were in the home
- 3:46Speaker 1: with you.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah no, no, no, no, we all got different mamas.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Okay, okay, So you were like the only child.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Of my mom, my mom only child.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Okay, and dad wasn't.
- 3:58Speaker 4: I got step pops. That's like my real Okay. I
- 4:01Speaker 4: hate was wrong, but nah, that's it. That's about it.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Okay, So what was your mom doing
- 4:07Speaker 1: for work?
- 4:08Speaker 4: My mom did a lot of stuff. Man, My mom
- 4:10Speaker 4: had a couple of businesses. She was a social worker.
- 4:15Speaker 4: She just did it all for real, you know. She
- 4:18Speaker 4: she had a party planning business.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Moms really got to work.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Your mom was a social worker. I noticed when I
- 4:26Speaker 1: was reading as much as I could about you, you
- 4:28Speaker 1: have like an affinity for like special.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Needs y'all want. That's what I studied in college.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Does that have something to do with the fact that
- 4:35Speaker 1: your mom was in social worker?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:36Speaker 4: Yeah, like definitely, Like I'm probably influenced by Like I
- 4:40Speaker 4: don't think nobody's influenced boy, like just one thing specifically,
- 4:43Speaker 4: you know, I feel like the universe talked to you,
- 4:45Speaker 4: Like it be like a chain of events.
- 4:48Speaker 2: So Yeah, with my mom.
- 4:50Speaker 4: My mom being a social worker had a lot to
- 4:52Speaker 4: do with it because I've seen so much. She was
- 4:53Speaker 4: always gone, she was always dealing with other people, children
- 4:56Speaker 4: and stuff like that. So sometimes I used to be hating,
- 4:59Speaker 4: but you know, you know what I'm saying, when I
- 5:00Speaker 4: got older enough to really understand that, like she was
- 5:03Speaker 4: doing good work. You know what I'm saying, She's saving
- 5:05Speaker 4: people lives, like you start really noticing.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Other people's situations as you get older.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I just really commend her for her job and all
- 5:12Speaker 4: the stress and stuff that she had to go through,
- 5:14Speaker 4: and on top of that, still deal with me, you
- 5:16Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, and a handful that I was
- 5:18Speaker 4: and then deal with life like you know what I mean.
- 5:20Speaker 2: So I commend her a lot.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You do a give back event in LA. Can you
- 5:26Speaker 1: tell us more about it?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Uh? Yeah, Two for Real Days.
- 5:29Speaker 4: So we throw two for Real Day every year and
- 5:31Speaker 4: it's like a community give back event, charity event. So
- 5:35Speaker 4: we have performances and like games and little rides and
- 5:40Speaker 4: stuff for all the kids to come out and have fun.
- 5:41Speaker 4: We give back school supplies, we make sure they're ready
- 5:44Speaker 4: for school, clothes and stuff like that. We got a
- 5:46Speaker 4: lot of sponsors like Ethica, Puma's been one of the sponsors.
- 5:50Speaker 4: True Religion was a sponsor last year. A lot of
- 5:55Speaker 4: different food vendors and stuff come through and help us.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Costco always donate a lot, so we just take that,
- 6:04Speaker 4: take everything that we get from that and try to
- 6:06Speaker 4: give it out to the community. We throw it at
- 6:07Speaker 4: Compton College, so we'll probably start doing it every year
- 6:10Speaker 4: at Company College. It started off as just a block
- 6:11Speaker 4: party though in the neighborhood. We used to just throw
- 6:13Speaker 4: a block party in the neighborhood. And when you say we,
- 6:15Speaker 4: who was we to me and my homies and my
- 6:17Speaker 4: family and my friends. Started off with me and my friends,
- 6:19Speaker 4: and then as I became a bigger artist, we just
- 6:22Speaker 4: like it became more and more and more, like just
- 6:25Speaker 4: bigger every year, so we have to keep bringing people.
- 6:29Speaker 1: What's interesting about you is you have this amazing artistry
- 6:33Speaker 1: music career. Thanks and I don't know if it gets
- 6:37Speaker 1: highlighted enough, but when you read your resume or your backstory,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you have almost an equal amount of this whole other
- 6:44Speaker 1: side of you that's like giving back or your degree,
- 6:48Speaker 1: like you graduated with what did you say your degree
- 6:50Speaker 1: was in? Like social science, social science, Like where's all
- 6:53Speaker 1: this this other inspiration coming from?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Probably my grandmother.
- 6:57Speaker 4: My grandmother was really like a heavy influence on my life,
- 7:01Speaker 4: Like that was my dog, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:03Speaker 2: So just before she passed away.
- 7:06Speaker 1: You're gonna have to stop tapping that. There's gonna be
- 7:08Speaker 1: listeners there. They're gonna be like, stop tapping. Use another, uh,
- 7:12Speaker 1: use another tool. Maybe maybe that flat one. I was
- 7:17Speaker 1: gonna say the other food flat one, but maybe that one.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I'm getting all up in his stuff. Sorry, but like that,
- 7:24Speaker 1: there's like something on there.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I wasn't gonna put it, not.
- 7:28Speaker 1: That on there? Yeah? What's that on that?
- 7:32Speaker 2: All? Right?
- 7:33Speaker 4: If you ain't never had a struggle meal with no dirt, like,
- 7:35Speaker 4: stop playing, stop stop acting like you ain't never had
- 7:38Speaker 4: a struggle meal with no dirt in here.
- 7:40Speaker 2: You ain't never sneeze on food. You ain't never dropped
- 7:42Speaker 2: the ice cube picked back up through it. I have,
- 7:46Speaker 2: I've done that, but I still do.
- 7:48Speaker 1: But I don't know if I've ever sneezed in food.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Though I didn't drop the homie full taco shells on
- 7:55Speaker 4: the ground, still made them.
- 7:56Speaker 1: For him, I don't. I don't know if I'll ever
- 8:01Speaker 1: let you cook for me off camera. Off cameras on
- 8:05Speaker 1: camera can see if you mess it up.
- 8:07Speaker 2: You just gotta pay attention. You never know, I might sprinkling.
- 8:10Speaker 1: What's crazy is you put all that seasoning in the water,
- 8:13Speaker 1: but I have not seen any seasoning on the meat
- 8:16Speaker 1: that has attention.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Oh you put seasoning on it.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Oh, I was so busy focused on listening. Okay, Okay,
- 8:23Speaker 1: let's go back to the story. Okay, So the inspiration
- 8:27Speaker 1: for all this other complete polar opposite of who who
- 8:31Speaker 1: it seems like you represent in your music.
- 8:34Speaker 4: I don't really think it's like a opposite, like I'm
- 8:38Speaker 4: still the same person.
- 8:39Speaker 2: It's just like that's kind of that's pretty.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Much like the basis of why I started making music
- 8:44Speaker 4: is that you can be whoever you want to be.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Is still be a.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Rapper, Like you don't gotta be a thug, you don't
- 8:48Speaker 4: gotta be like, you don't gotta be nothing like stereotypical.
- 8:52Speaker 2: You could be whoever you want to be and still
- 8:55Speaker 2: make it.
- 8:56Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, Chief success, people still think
- 8:58Speaker 4: you cool, Like cool is like standard of yourself, you
- 9:01Speaker 4: know what I mean? That's what the for real for
- 9:03Speaker 4: real means it's like it's like doubling down on being yourself,
- 9:06Speaker 4: being real.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's where that comes from.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Okay, So take me back. You're a kid growing up
- 9:11Speaker 1: at home, what's your next injection towards artistry? Like growing up, like,
- 9:18Speaker 1: where do you start figuring out what you want to do?
- 9:21Speaker 4: I played sports, so I was really playing sports and
- 9:23Speaker 4: like just music and sports kind of I go hand
- 9:25Speaker 4: in hand. So when I was a kid, I know
- 9:27Speaker 4: I wanted to make music too, but I didn't know
- 9:29Speaker 4: I want to be a rapper. I always thought I
- 9:31Speaker 4: wanted to be like a producer or something. So I
- 9:33Speaker 4: started off kind of just like making beasts, but I
- 9:35Speaker 4: was like horrible. So I was like, let me just
- 9:38Speaker 4: try something else. And I started rapping a little bit,
- 9:40Speaker 4: and then me and my homies around my neighborhood we
- 9:43Speaker 4: all started rapping too, like everybody on my street.
- 9:45Speaker 2: So it was just making music together. Were just putting
- 9:47Speaker 2: it together.
- 9:48Speaker 4: And as I got older, when I got done playing football,
- 9:52Speaker 4: I was like, I want to do something.
- 9:53Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm gonna take like a year and focus
- 9:55Speaker 5: on rap. And after I focused on rap, it just
- 9:57Speaker 5: started to take off.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And how did your mom feel about this whole idea
- 10:00Speaker 1: of you getting into rap.
- 10:02Speaker 2: She was like, I don't really care because I graduated
- 10:04Speaker 2: from college.
- 10:05Speaker 4: So she was like, man, whatever you're gonna do, just
- 10:07Speaker 4: do it, just do it out one hundred percent. So
- 10:11Speaker 4: she she supported it. I remember early on, like when
- 10:14Speaker 4: I was young, she was scared for me. But I
- 10:16Speaker 4: could tell she was scared for me rather than you
- 10:19Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, didn't want me to chase my
- 10:21Speaker 4: dreams because it just was like, you know what, parents,
- 10:25Speaker 4: it's a different generation, generational gap, so the what you
- 10:29Speaker 4: can be was more limited back then, Like you know
- 10:32Speaker 4: what I'm saying, Like she probably got so many friends
- 10:34Speaker 4: and people that wanted to be rappers and stuff like that,
- 10:36Speaker 4: and went down the rabbit hole.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yeah you know what I mean.
- 10:38Speaker 4: You like, you don't think your little son gonna make
- 10:40Speaker 4: it or your baby gonna make it. When they when
- 10:41Speaker 4: they're like, oh I want to be a rapper, I
- 10:43Speaker 4: want to do this, you just think like damn, Like
- 10:45Speaker 4: a lot of people get discouraged, like day you don't
- 10:47Speaker 4: want to work hard and stuff like that. Like I
- 10:49Speaker 4: had other family members telling me like I don't need
- 10:51Speaker 4: to focus on rap, like I need to get a
- 10:53Speaker 4: job and stuff like that, and it's.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Like, how did that make you feel? When they would
- 10:56Speaker 1: say that.
- 10:58Speaker 4: I've never really been a person to have hurt feelings.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I'm like, you really get one chance with me? Like
- 11:03Speaker 4: if you if you ain't saying what I'm liking in
- 11:05Speaker 4: the first like five minutes, I'm You're toned out for life.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I'll never listen to you again.
- 11:09Speaker 1: You hear that, y'all. That means when you run up
- 11:12Speaker 1: on Caitlin, you make sure you get your words correct. Okay,
- 11:17Speaker 1: you got that? What two elevator pitch before yours?
- 11:20Speaker 2: I'm an Aries, man, I hate you fast.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I love Aries people, Aquarius and Arias. I think just
- 11:26Speaker 1: get along really great.
- 11:27Speaker 2: They're pretty cool.
- 11:27Speaker 1: They pretty cool. When's your birthday?
- 11:30Speaker 2: Okay? Okay, I hang out with a lot of Aries.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Aries.
- 11:33Speaker 2: All right, so that's crazy. I hang out with a
- 11:36Speaker 2: lot of Areas and Queries.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm telling you, Aquaries. I promise you. I have a
- 11:40Speaker 1: lot of Aries people that I deal with. And when
- 11:43Speaker 1: I say there's something magical about aquaries and aries hanging out,
- 11:47Speaker 1: I don't know about dating, but I will say, like
- 11:49Speaker 1: hanging out, there's something cool about it. I don't know why.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I don't know a lot about signs, but I do
- 11:55Speaker 1: know like aquaries and aris. Okay, all right, so take
- 11:59Speaker 1: me back to when you start to seeing glimmers of
- 12:02Speaker 1: like your music is working in the right direction.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Direction a little after college, maybe like twenty like eighteen,
- 12:22Speaker 4: like sounds start going up crazy on SoundCloud.
- 12:25Speaker 2: My my project.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I put a project out in like that July, and
- 12:29Speaker 4: I think by like maybe like September October, I was
- 12:34Speaker 4: like a full fledged artist, Like I really didn't have
- 12:36Speaker 4: no choice. I was doing shows every weekend. I was
- 12:38Speaker 4: getting booked. I was living in Atlanta, and like people
- 12:42Speaker 4: was playing my music back out here, and I was
- 12:44Speaker 4: like blowing up out here.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I had no clue. I got back home.
- 12:46Speaker 4: My homies just like yeah, like hey this dude want
- 12:49Speaker 4: a bookie for a show like this?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Do want a bookie for a show. I'm like, hell no,
- 12:53Speaker 2: I need a manager or something.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, what we doing?
- 12:55Speaker 4: So my homie Marlin, Me and my homie Marlin, we
- 12:57Speaker 4: was just thugging it out like as much.
- 12:59Speaker 2: As we could do.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Pop were like just in your DM's booking you.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah, DM and.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Me walking up on me in person like it was
- 13:04Speaker 4: even crazy, And I went on this like little I
- 13:07Speaker 4: went on tour with OJIEZ. When I came back from that,
- 13:09Speaker 4: my whole life was just like changing like fast, and
- 13:13Speaker 4: like before you knew it, I was on my own tour.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And then what was your mom saying when all this
- 13:17Speaker 1: is going on.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I'm kind of like quiet.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 4: So like with my mom, we talk about everything, but
- 13:24Speaker 4: I'm the type of person like I don't really talk
- 13:27Speaker 4: about what I got going on until I'm finished because
- 13:29Speaker 4: I don't want to jinx myself, you know what I mean.
- 13:31Speaker 4: So nah, just telling my mom, she like, I'm like yeah, man,
- 13:34Speaker 4: Like I think one day I came to the house
- 13:37Speaker 4: probably in like twenty like eighteen or twenty seventeen, and
- 13:41Speaker 4: I was like, hey, I'm finna move out. She was
- 13:43Speaker 4: like what. I was like, yeah, like I'm out. I'll
- 13:46Speaker 4: see you later. Like I got apartment, she was like where.
- 13:49Speaker 4: I'm like like by lax. She was like in Marina
- 13:53Speaker 4: del Ray. I'm like yeah, low key like yeah. She
- 13:56Speaker 4: was like yeah, And I gave her some h your
- 13:59Speaker 4: mom with the news yeah, because it's like I was
- 14:02Speaker 4: just like I came because I was living in Atlanta.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I had already left like when I got out of college.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I was like, I'm about to go to dow.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Atlanta went you went to school, but where did you
- 14:09Speaker 1: go to college?
- 14:09Speaker 2: At San Diego State?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Okay? And then you just moved to Atlanta like.
- 14:12Speaker 2: The day after I came out of college.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Did and you surprised her with that move too.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 4: When I came home, I was like, she was like, well,
- 14:18Speaker 4: so what you gonna do. I'm like, I ain't gonna lie.
- 14:21Speaker 4: I'm like, if you could just watch my dog for me,
- 14:22Speaker 4: I'll be back, like in like six months, I'm gonna
- 14:24Speaker 4: come back.
- 14:25Speaker 2: She was like what.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, just give me like six months
- 14:28Speaker 4: I'll be back or something like that, Like I'm gonna
- 14:29Speaker 4: just go figure it out.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna go try it out here for And why
- 14:32Speaker 1: did you choose Atlanta? By the way, I think those
- 14:35Speaker 1: noodles are going to be like, baby, you don't want
- 14:37Speaker 1: to you you don't want to turn it off?
- 14:40Speaker 2: You see that.
- 14:41Speaker 1: It's okay, yeah, okay. This is what happens when you
- 14:44Speaker 1: watch a man cook is like nerve wrecking, Like please
- 14:47Speaker 1: don't burn down the house.
- 14:48Speaker 2: It's okay, It's okay, we do.
- 14:50Speaker 1: This, okay, see he said, He said, I took my
- 14:54Speaker 1: advice for me, or was I was? I leading you
- 14:57Speaker 1: in the right direction.
- 14:58Speaker 4: You gotta learn when to listen, you know what I'm saying.
- 15:00Speaker 4: As a man, you gotta learn how to listen.
- 15:02Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I was like, we eat baby for when you done
- 15:06Speaker 1: all right? All right? So you moved to Atlanta. What's
- 15:09Speaker 1: the inspiration to move from LA to Atlanta?
- 15:12Speaker 4: That's just where music was like the mecca at that time,
- 15:14Speaker 4: Like everything was coming up out of Atlanta.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I figured, like, you know what I'm saying, let me
- 15:18Speaker 2: see what I can go.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Down there and learn. I can go down there network
- 15:21Speaker 4: maybe you know something to come up of it. So
- 15:23Speaker 4: I was just chilling down there my home meet. I
- 15:25Speaker 4: was my roommate in college in San Diego. He had
- 15:28Speaker 4: moved back. He was from there, so I just wanted
- 15:30Speaker 4: to go stay with Bro. Was staying out there just
- 15:33Speaker 4: making music. Every day, working on music. I was getting around.
- 15:35Speaker 4: I ended up making someone probably like my best music.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Think out there is why I like found like my confidence.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Like in Atlanta, you could be whatever you want if
- 15:43Speaker 4: you like a garbage man, like a Nick Gonna tell
- 15:45Speaker 4: you I'm the best garbage man ever. Like if you
- 15:47Speaker 4: like a cameraman, dude, gonna be the best camera man,
- 15:49Speaker 4: even if they not.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Like you know what I'm saying, But.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Like the sense of pride that you have about yourself
- 15:54Speaker 4: that I found out there, Like just seeing so many.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Like people that looked like me that were successful.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I had never really seen a lot of successful people
- 16:00Speaker 4: like me in all different lanes and attributes. So I
- 16:03Speaker 4: think it kind of just motivated me a lot, you
- 16:05Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, being out.
- 16:06Speaker 2: There in that way.
- 16:06Speaker 1: So then what made you decide to come back home?
- 16:09Speaker 1: I had to because of the six month you told
- 16:11Speaker 1: your my home.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Nah, I just started blowing up. I started getting bigger,
- 16:14Speaker 4: like my music and stuff.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Making the music out there, we hearing it.
- 16:18Speaker 4: You're just uploading, putting it on Yeah, I'm just putting
- 16:20Speaker 4: it on SoundCloud, letting it go, just sending it to people.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I send my music to like five hundred people a day. Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I used to send my music out every day all
- 16:27Speaker 2: day to a bunch of people.
- 16:28Speaker 4: And just like in the in the in like doing that,
- 16:32Speaker 4: I just happened to start blowing up, blowing up.
- 16:34Speaker 1: So you come back out here, You're getting booked for
- 16:37Speaker 1: shows where do you end up being signed because now
- 16:39Speaker 1: you're moving without management.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, No, I had.
- 16:42Speaker 4: I got with my brother Ray, So now I'm signing
- 16:44Speaker 4: to like first Class Entertainment, Okay. And after that that's
- 16:48Speaker 4: when we A couple of years later, after that, we
- 16:50Speaker 4: just was going up putting it together.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I was moving around doing.
- 16:54Speaker 4: I probably didn't have to drop a song for like,
- 16:55Speaker 4: I didn't have to drop no new music for like
- 16:57Speaker 4: three four years.
- 16:58Speaker 2: So it was just going up off of that it
- 17:00Speaker 2: for like three years.
- 17:00Speaker 1: And that's good because you got to really work the record. Yeah.
- 17:03Speaker 4: I got to work all my projects, so like I
- 17:04Speaker 4: had dropped too for real, and then it just was
- 17:06Speaker 4: going crazy. So once that happened, we got out of that,
- 17:09Speaker 4: we went over to UH. We had some meetings, We
- 17:12Speaker 4: had a lot of meetings. We had meetings with everybody,
- 17:13Speaker 4: whole bunch of labels, and it just.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Felt like the best fit was to be like a
- 17:17Speaker 2: rock nation.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Can you know what I'm saying, the best fit? Yeah, yeah,
- 17:20Speaker 1: it sounds like good friend. Tell us how it happened.
- 17:23Speaker 4: I was performing at UH the BT Experience.
- 17:27Speaker 2: You familiar with that.
- 17:28Speaker 4: So there was a show at the BT Experience that
- 17:30Speaker 4: UH DJ head had put on and at the p
- 17:33Speaker 4: at the time, Sherry was the president of Sherry Bryant
- 17:36Speaker 4: was the president in the Rock Nation.
- 17:38Speaker 5: And I had been knowing one of her A and
- 17:39Speaker 5: R's Earl, like that's my homie. I had been knowing
- 17:41Speaker 5: him for a long time.
- 17:42Speaker 4: So I used to sit and wrote my music like consistently, consistently,
- 17:46Speaker 4: and just one day, uh, Scherry, see me perform. And
- 17:49Speaker 4: then before you knew it, I was just on the
- 17:50Speaker 4: plane going to New York. Like he was like, hey man,
- 17:53Speaker 4: let me.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Uh let me he let me take you to the
- 17:56Speaker 5: to lunch.
- 17:57Speaker 4: And I'm like, all right, so I'll pull up on
- 17:59Speaker 4: him well eating lunch, and I'm like, you feel me
- 18:02Speaker 4: like I pay for like I pay for it like you.
- 18:04Speaker 4: He was like, no, I gotta pay for it. It's
- 18:05Speaker 4: on the label, Like this was like a business meeting.
- 18:08Speaker 5: I'm like what you mean, Like he like, well, ship,
- 18:11Speaker 5: they want to fly you out there and meet with
- 18:13Speaker 5: like your people so we can like sign you.
- 18:16Speaker 2: We want to sign you.
- 18:17Speaker 4: And I'm like, man, shut up, earl, you lying like.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Like you playing like today ain't no time to play.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Stop playing. But I just gave him. I gave him
- 18:25Speaker 2: rate number, and I'll just let them figure it out
- 18:27Speaker 2: in there.
- 18:28Speaker 4: From there, I think like maybe like two weeks later,
- 18:30Speaker 4: we have Fluid in New York and we was at
- 18:32Speaker 4: the office.
- 18:32Speaker 1: So was that your first time in New York?
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yep, that was my very first time. That was my
- 18:36Speaker 2: second time going to New York. Actually my second time
- 18:38Speaker 2: going to New York.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I was gonna say, what do you think about pizza?
- 18:41Speaker 2: Y'all? Got a good pizza? Y'all got a good pizza y'all?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Impan out of Mama.
- 18:45Speaker 1: And panata is Ain't nobody going to New York to eat.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I can't leave it. I'm gonna bring the imp and
- 18:50Speaker 2: out of Mama back.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Really.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, take it on the plane with me.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I had that.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You never had I out of Mama. You from New York. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 2: word to my mother. You gotta figure that out.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna figure it out.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I go.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I go there at least two to three times a year.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Me too, I get about that much.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I just came back from there.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Yeah. So did you ever get to meet Hoover or
- 19:13Speaker 1: anything like that?
- 19:14Speaker 2: Yeah? I met him.
- 19:14Speaker 4: I met Hove in La before I met him in
- 19:16Speaker 4: New York. I met him in LA at the LA office.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So if you don't know anything about me, which you
- 19:22Speaker 1: kind of already know, is I'm a huge jay Z fan.
- 19:24Speaker 2: So you got a legendary picture I got.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I had my mom paint that custody like that.
- 19:29Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I gave her just so you know, the picture doesn't
- 19:32Speaker 1: even do it justice. I gave my mom like a
- 19:34Speaker 1: really tiny picture, very tiny, very blurry picture. And I
- 19:39Speaker 1: was like twenty four, and I was like, Mom, I
- 19:40Speaker 1: will pay you in payments if you make this massive
- 19:44Speaker 1: painting for me. She did it for me.
- 19:47Speaker 2: That's dope. You got a dope.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I don't want to tell you how much she charged me,
- 19:49Speaker 1: because she charged you. She very little. Now if you
- 19:53Speaker 1: ask her, she'll be like, go sell my painting the
- 19:55Speaker 1: jay Z. I'll make you another one, and like, no,
- 19:59Speaker 1: the only one in the world.
- 20:00Speaker 2: You should get it.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Only I would never he would love that though.
- 20:04Speaker 4: He's so he's so deep into like fine arts, like yeah,
- 20:07Speaker 4: but everywhere it is like a museum.
- 20:11Speaker 1: He would own the only one. And then I'd have
- 20:13Speaker 1: to beg my mom to paint another one. Yes, and
- 20:16Speaker 1: my mom my Mom's trying to charge a lot more
- 20:18Speaker 1: for them. Paintings.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Now, your mom like you gotta just for next, Like my.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Mom be like ten thousand.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I'll tell you like over life, we got a whole life.
- 20:28Speaker 1: She's gonna fall for that. She ain't gonna fall for that.
- 20:30Speaker 2: My mom's gonna stop following for it. She watched this,
- 20:35Speaker 2: it's gonna be over all right.
- 20:37Speaker 1: So you gotta share one jay Z store just because
- 20:40Speaker 1: I'm a fan freak.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:42Speaker 4: So remember when that whole thing was going around, Like
- 20:44Speaker 4: when they was like, hey, do would you.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Rather take the dinner?
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:48Speaker 2: Or would you rather get the money? We was talking
- 20:51Speaker 2: about that one day and I was like, hey, I
- 20:53Speaker 2: got the dinner. Animal. He was like, that's a bar.
- 20:58Speaker 1: You said that to him?
- 20:59Speaker 2: Yeah? What? He cool?
- 21:02Speaker 1: It was awesome, you know what. It's so funny because
- 21:04Speaker 1: everyone on this show who shares stories about Jay, he
- 21:07Speaker 1: sounds hell of cool. Like Neo said that he would
- 21:09Speaker 1: call him the nigga that what did he say? He
- 21:12Speaker 1: was like the nigga that gave the.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Song to Mario or some shit, the nigga that gave
- 21:15Speaker 2: us song to Mario.
- 21:16Speaker 1: He gave the hit record to Mario. Yeah, he's mad
- 21:19Speaker 1: about that for a while. Yeah, yo, because Neil was
- 21:21Speaker 1: signed to him and he gave that song to Mario's.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Breakout record Okay just a Friend.
- 21:27Speaker 1: And then Sipho Sounds had a good story about how
- 21:30Speaker 1: he worked in jay Z's office and he acted he
- 21:33Speaker 1: was like what up, Jay, and Jay stopped and was
- 21:34Speaker 1: like that's how you greet me, like I'm jay Z
- 21:37Speaker 1: or something. So everyone always has a really cool story.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Crazy. I ain't never seen nothing see no jay Z
- 21:43Speaker 2: like that.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yeah, he was very funny. He just seems like he's
- 21:46Speaker 1: a very fun guy.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, No, he cool. He cool is here?
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you know that day is gonna come. I'm gonna
- 21:51Speaker 1: call you up and send you an email like.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yo, my moment, kne you sold that picture And.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna say I had I got the money and
- 21:57Speaker 1: the dinner. That's what I'm gonna say to him. Steal
- 21:59Speaker 1: that same bar, got.
- 22:00Speaker 2: The money in the dinner. I got the money and
- 22:02Speaker 2: get that.
- 22:03Speaker 1: That's awesome, bro. Yeah, okay, so you got the money
- 22:06Speaker 1: in the dinner.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I remember one day I stepped on his carpet too,
- 22:09Speaker 4: and I had to tell him like, hey, I thought
- 22:10Speaker 4: you was gonna shelf me.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Bro.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I've been out here.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Stressed the whole time. He got like this white this
- 22:17Speaker 4: white all pack of rug. It looked like remember on, uh,
- 22:21Speaker 4: what's that ship called with with Denzel Is that movie
- 22:24Speaker 4: called American Gangster.
- 22:25Speaker 2: He was like, you dab that ship, blot that ship whatever?
- 22:28Speaker 1: We stepped on it?
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah, like dirty as shoes. Yeah, like it was like
- 22:33Speaker 2: it was. I was trying not to step on it.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I was like, I didn't make it. And I was looking.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I looked his shoes was off.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I was like, fuck, so did you draw attention to it?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:47Speaker 4: Like when I went outside, I just went back outside
- 22:49Speaker 4: on the balcony and I was like smoking.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I was just sitting there chill, and he came outside
- 22:53Speaker 2: and I was like, my bathroot stepping on your rug.
- 22:59Speaker 2: He was like, man, about that ship man, He's like what.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I'm I'm like I thought I was
- 23:05Speaker 2: gonna get shelfed. I thought it was over with.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I'm like, damn't already started texting my management like y'all
- 23:09Speaker 4: fucked up?
- 23:10Speaker 2: Man, I stepped on that nigga rub.
- 23:12Speaker 1: So yeah, that's cool. So not only have you had
- 23:16Speaker 1: the dinner and the money, but you've been inside his crib.
- 23:18Speaker 2: No, that wasn't his house that was like his office.
- 23:22Speaker 2: It was just a nice rug.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, nice nice place. Okay, Well hopefully your little
- 23:27Speaker 1: footprints still there. I'm pretty sure.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Yeah, legendary footprint.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You know. All right, so you're you get the deal.
- 23:33Speaker 1: What are you saying? Are you at least calling Mama yet?
- 23:36Speaker 1: Because I feel like Mama's getting like not as much
- 23:40Speaker 1: ranging love from you?
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah? No.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Like, like I said, I'm the type of person like
- 23:44Speaker 4: I don't really do nothing to this.
- 23:45Speaker 2: So I waited till like everything was good to tell
- 23:51Speaker 2: Mom was like, hey, look I did it. You know
- 23:53Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 23:53Speaker 1: So Kaitlyn is just finished making our dish. It looks delicious.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Apparently it's gonna be nachos. I want to try it.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Clean went not a team, don't nartisize me.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Don't what you know what? I feel like it's missing something.
- 24:14Speaker 1: It's missing a sauce.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Like cheese, like a Kessel. No, but what like a
- 24:22Speaker 2: Kessel cheese. You gotta have been fired.
- 24:26Speaker 1: It's really good.
- 24:27Speaker 5: I would have just went to the guns station and
- 24:28Speaker 5: got some little Kesso cheese real quick.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 24:31Speaker 1: It's like, I don't know. I would have done cool
- 24:35Speaker 1: ranch chips. I would have done nacho.
- 24:38Speaker 2: He's my favorite.
- 24:39Speaker 1: The cool ranch with this though. You know what, this
- 24:42Speaker 1: is good. This is what I'll say for everyone listening.
- 24:44Speaker 1: This is actually very impressively good. I love the meat,
- 24:48Speaker 1: I love the seasoning. The seasoning was really good. I
- 24:53Speaker 1: like this just but you need cheese. It was really good.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Sometimes, like when I was young, it might be like
- 25:07Speaker 4: one two slices of cheese left.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I wasn't paying attention. Did you drop the noodles in
- 25:12Speaker 1: with the meat and then stir it? This ship is good.
- 25:17Speaker 1: It's like a hood classic.
- 25:31Speaker 2: You gotta get through it.
- 25:32Speaker 1: This is good. You wish you would have had cheese.
- 25:38Speaker 4: So, ladies, when you when you want to go to Carbone,
- 25:43Speaker 4: not going to Carbone.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Is hilarious, spoken like a true Now why you keep
- 25:53Speaker 1: turn that?
- 25:54Speaker 2: Don't know?
- 25:55Speaker 1: I watched you answer a date question and I was like.
- 25:58Speaker 2: What was it? What kind of question was it? Oh?
- 26:00Speaker 1: Oh, something on your little on your timeline. This girl said,
- 26:10Speaker 1: was a deal of a perfect date or something?
- 26:12Speaker 2: Oh?
- 26:13Speaker 1: Honest to this dude's a narcissists.
- 26:16Speaker 2: That don't make me a narcissist.
- 26:18Speaker 1: You've been claiming that the whole time, and then when
- 26:20Speaker 1: I say it, it doesn't sound good.
- 26:21Speaker 2: That doesn't that doesn't like justify narcissism.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Though, okay, as I've spoken like a true nigga.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Though like a true nigga, I take that. It was
- 26:32Speaker 2: answer okay.
- 26:34Speaker 1: So I will say this. You and I are like
- 26:36Speaker 1: polar opposites in the sense that, like if I even
- 26:40Speaker 1: sat might think something great is gonna happen, I literally
- 26:42Speaker 1: call like ten people, and then when it doesn't happen,
- 26:46Speaker 1: I totally warn people up from I'm gonna be really
- 26:48Speaker 1: sad and that's how I live my life. And then
- 26:50Speaker 1: you're the opposite. A deal can be signed, money could
- 26:54Speaker 1: be transferred to your bank account, and you're gonna hold
- 26:56Speaker 1: it in the whole time. So how did you tell
- 26:59Speaker 1: your mom about the I hate to go back to
- 27:01Speaker 1: your mom, but I always feel like moms are like that.
- 27:05Speaker 4: I told her like a Musico met with regnation. No, actually,
- 27:10Speaker 4: I think I called her a while I was in
- 27:11Speaker 4: New York. She called me like what you doing. I'm like, oh,
- 27:13Speaker 4: I'm in New York.
- 27:14Speaker 1: She like, how do you not stress this woman out?
- 27:17Speaker 4: She got my location and it's like, if you're looking
- 27:18Speaker 4: for me, you know exactly how to find me.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Oh, you share it with me? Okay, you know what, Jesus,
- 27:24Speaker 1: she's probably got to check that every day.
- 27:26Speaker 2: My sister usually check it.
- 27:28Speaker 7: Your sister what My big sister usually check it every day,
- 27:31Speaker 7: Like she wake up in the marning. I think that's
- 27:33Speaker 7: like one of the first things to do because if
- 27:34Speaker 7: I'm somewhere that's unfamiliar, She'll start calling me at like
- 27:37Speaker 7: six o'clock in the morning, where are you at.
- 27:40Speaker 1: That's how I am with my little brother when I
- 27:42Speaker 1: go to New York. He hates it. I know he does,
- 27:45Speaker 1: but it'll be like five in the morning'll be like,
- 27:47Speaker 1: where are you at. I'll be blowing up his phone.
- 27:49Speaker 1: You don't answer, I'll text him. But the last time
- 27:52Speaker 1: I did this, I said, yo, I texted like where
- 27:56Speaker 1: you at? He was like, I'm good. I said, prove
- 27:59Speaker 1: you're my little brother. Because he didn't call back. He's
- 28:04Speaker 1: text him like, how do I know he didn't get murdered?
- 28:06Speaker 2: And you know, somebody, my little brother is crazy.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I was like, tell me what you used to call
- 28:09Speaker 1: me when you was a little kid like, and he
- 28:12Speaker 1: was like, you're fucking losing it. But I'm like, yo,
- 28:15Speaker 1: when you know you got to make sure you know.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Your people safe instincts.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but I know he hates that shit. But anyways,
- 28:21Speaker 1: go on. So you break the news to your mom
- 28:24Speaker 1: you're going to this meeting with Rock Nation. She obviously
- 28:26Speaker 1: knows that you're about to get signed. What does she say?
- 28:29Speaker 4: She was like, my fingers crossed for you. Just let
- 28:32Speaker 4: me know because she I've always been like this my
- 28:34Speaker 4: whole life. Like I'll be getting like a word at
- 28:37Speaker 4: school or something.
- 28:39Speaker 5: I won't say nothing until like the day before, like yeah,
- 28:42Speaker 5: like like if I got to show or something like that,
- 28:43Speaker 5: I'd be like, oh, yeah, I'm just about to go
- 28:44Speaker 5: do a show real quick.
- 28:45Speaker 2: I'll just be I feel like my mom tells me,
- 28:47Speaker 2: I downplay everything.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but I like that. I actually like that. I
- 28:52Speaker 1: like that. Like I said, I'm the opposite. I could
- 28:54Speaker 1: I could win a dollar and you don't know about
- 28:56Speaker 1: it or even change his hands and be.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Like, oh what a dollar. Yeah, I'm real quiet. I
- 29:02Speaker 2: don't really like mm hmm.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I'll just be But you be excited on the inside.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Yeah, e static, like a little like you know when
- 29:12Speaker 4: you shake up a soda. Yeah that's me on the inside.
- 29:15Speaker 4: I'd be a sthetic, but on the outside, I'll just
- 29:18Speaker 4: be like chilling and then it's just like.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I said, it's high standards for myself.
- 29:25Speaker 5: So it's like, all right, that's cool, but that's not
- 29:27Speaker 5: really where you want to go, you know what I'm saying.
- 29:29Speaker 4: I don't never want to get too excited. I see
- 29:30Speaker 4: a lot of people get excited about their accomplishments and
- 29:33Speaker 4: stuff like that and then get lost in the sauce
- 29:35Speaker 4: and then like, yo, accomplishments be so lower level, you
- 29:38Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, And I don't want to It's
- 29:40Speaker 4: like it all plays a different role. You know, you
- 29:42Speaker 4: can't downsize anybody's accomplishments.
- 29:44Speaker 2: But at the same time, like.
- 29:47Speaker 4: If you're chasing a bigger dream, then you know what
- 29:50Speaker 4: I'm saying, then you can't be satisfied with the bare.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Minimums, you know what I mean.
- 29:53Speaker 1: So I noticed with a lot of successful people on
- 29:56Speaker 1: this show, the ceiling is constantly being moved. You'd be
- 30:00Speaker 1: surprised how many guests, Rappers included, they have admitted to
- 30:03Speaker 1: crying on the show. And like, these real intense situations,
- 30:06Speaker 1: you're very successful, but the glass ceiling just continues to move.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Is that how it is with you?
- 30:10Speaker 2: Yeah, every day.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Like, it's no such thing as being finished, you know
- 30:14Speaker 4: what I mean. It's not no like you should never
- 30:18Speaker 4: there's never enough work done, you know what I mean.
- 30:20Speaker 2: There's always more work to do every day.
- 30:21Speaker 5: But that's I'm an athlete though, whole a lot of
- 30:23Speaker 5: that comes from me being hot.
- 30:24Speaker 1: And when you say athlete, football okay, yeah, you look
- 30:27Speaker 1: football built. Guys, I thought he was gonna be five
- 30:29Speaker 1: to seven, crazy, six to one. I was like, oh,
- 30:33Speaker 1: I was completely off.
- 30:34Speaker 2: It's because I'll be singing. People be thinking I'm to
- 30:36Speaker 2: be short.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Plus a lot of people on the end is
- 30:38Speaker 1: especially like especially if you're talking singing, they're usually shorter,
- 30:42Speaker 1: with the exception of like three the.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Girls told me she didn't believe that I was with
- 30:45Speaker 4: like some friends and they had like some girls people
- 30:48Speaker 4: like some people with them, and I guess she never
- 30:50Speaker 4: seen what I look like. She had only heard my music.
- 30:52Speaker 4: My friends was like, yeah, he a rapper, Like yeah,
- 30:55Speaker 4: all you know what I'm saying. It was just calm collective.
- 30:58Speaker 4: We was hanging out and they're like, yeah, that's his
- 31:02Speaker 4: music that he was playing. She was like, that's not him.
- 31:04Speaker 2: That dude's like light skin or something, and She's like, sure,
- 31:07Speaker 2: he's too big to be here.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I'm like, I can see that because you look like
- 31:09Speaker 1: football player built.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like him.
- 31:11Speaker 4: I'm like, that's what I sound like. I sound like
- 31:13Speaker 4: a like a short, light skinned guy, like you know
- 31:15Speaker 4: what I'm saying. She was like on the load, like
- 31:16Speaker 4: I can't really believe that's you. She's like sing right now.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I'm like, nah, wow, no, sorry, you should have had
- 31:24Speaker 1: one of your little your friends, like pretend to be.
- 31:27Speaker 2: What we doing on front of wordship.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I believe it. I believe it. I believe it. So
- 31:33Speaker 1: what is one experience that you could say in the
- 31:35Speaker 1: industry that really made you go whoa.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Mm hmm, like whoa like a bad war or like
- 31:47Speaker 2: a good.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Like a good whoa. Now I'm curious about a bad woe,
- 31:53Speaker 1: but a good who First.
- 31:57Speaker 4: I think just people like bigger artists knowing, like knowing
- 32:02Speaker 4: who I am. I think one one dope experience was
- 32:06Speaker 4: at the pop out.
- 32:07Speaker 2: At the pop out with.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Kendrick, I was gonna say, I would think you would
- 32:13Speaker 1: mention that, Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 2: No, that was dope.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Backstage, I seem tireder creator, and I'm like a low
- 32:18Speaker 4: key tired of the creator.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Fan like, I'm not like, you know, like.
- 32:21Speaker 4: He got his fans, Like I like his music as
- 32:24Speaker 4: much as his fans, but I'm not like all into
- 32:26Speaker 4: his aesthetic. You know what I'm saying. I got my
- 32:28Speaker 4: own Inestad, I got my own style, but I fuck
- 32:29Speaker 4: with his music. He makes great music. I've seen him backstage.
- 32:33Speaker 4: He was like, what's the deal? It's like fun with
- 32:35Speaker 4: your ship.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I was like, I was playing cool. I was like,
- 32:42Speaker 2: da I got outside. I'm like called it home. Yeah.
- 32:47Speaker 4: I only got like two three homies that I like,
- 32:49Speaker 4: really like act like be excited about.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Say Naked said they could see me be excited.
- 32:54Speaker 1: I like, So are those the homies you call when
- 32:57Speaker 1: like the rock nation deals? Do you do those those?
- 33:01Speaker 1: Because I like seeing that side of you where you
- 33:03Speaker 1: get like that.
- 33:04Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. I lost my homie.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Just get me crying all kinds like that, so like
- 33:08Speaker 5: happy tears and everything.
- 33:09Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 33:10Speaker 1: So tell me about this woe bad experience. Tell me
- 33:14Speaker 1: one good one that you don't have to drop names,
- 33:16Speaker 1: but you can always hint. Dude, don't don't.
- 33:22Speaker 2: It's just so much going on.
- 33:23Speaker 4: It's just like I don't know where to start, because like,
- 33:27Speaker 4: I don't really care, that'd be my biggest thing.
- 33:30Speaker 1: I love how you're tearing these up his breakfast. You know,
- 33:36Speaker 1: the chip bites, the ones with the little freedom chip
- 33:39Speaker 1: things in it. What are these crunch chips or whatever?
- 33:43Speaker 1: That's where it hit because it has a.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Little crustpicttle tame.
- 33:46Speaker 1: All right, Come on, name a name because a time.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Don't name a name, but name a name.
- 33:52Speaker 5: No, what's a wold situation or industry situation. I don't
- 34:02Speaker 5: really think I had too many bad woes, just one.
- 34:05Speaker 5: I don't really have no bad ones.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Alright, Well you were the one that baited me into
- 34:09Speaker 1: it technique.
- 34:10Speaker 4: That's what I was gonna tell you, though, if you
- 34:11Speaker 4: if you thought it was as a female, you always
- 34:14Speaker 4: have one a bad woe in the industry. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:18Speaker 4: Like I don't really take I don't take this stuff serious.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Like you got different types.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Of people, you know what I mean.
- 34:28Speaker 4: You got people that want to be in the industry.
- 34:32Speaker 4: You got people that have no choice but to be
- 34:34Speaker 4: in the industry. And then you got people that don't
- 34:36Speaker 4: really care much for what's going on. Like you could
- 34:40Speaker 4: tell like who wanna be in the industry cause it's
- 34:42Speaker 4: like whoa like you.
- 34:44Speaker 2: They'll do anything. You know what I'm saying.
- 34:45Speaker 4: They do anything, they do everything, they'll it just doesn't
- 34:50Speaker 4: make sense, like you could tell it's not a part
- 34:51Speaker 4: of their character. Then you got people that's this is
- 34:54Speaker 4: really their character. They've been acting like this they whole life.
- 34:56Speaker 4: They was just built for this shit, Like you know
- 34:57Speaker 4: what I'm saying. They just industry people. And then like
- 35:00Speaker 4: I feel like I'm more the type of person. It's
- 35:01Speaker 4: like I'll just be watching this shit like I'd be
- 35:04Speaker 4: like that's crazy.
- 35:04Speaker 2: I would never do that.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Hell no, Like you know what I'm saying, Like I
- 35:07Speaker 5: don't really be on no industry shit, I would think.
- 35:09Speaker 1: So, do you feel like your favorite part of your
- 35:11Speaker 1: job is making the music or performing?
- 35:13Speaker 2: Performing?
- 35:15Speaker 4: So I feel like it fits in both, Like making
- 35:18Speaker 4: the music be such an experience for me because it's
- 35:20Speaker 4: like that's like therapeutic cause I get to just talk
- 35:23Speaker 4: about awe, like a lot of people don't get to
- 35:27Speaker 4: talk about their feelings and express their feelings. Like a
- 35:29Speaker 4: lot of people like just naturally have to keep it
- 35:30Speaker 4: suppressed because they don't have an outlet to be able
- 35:32Speaker 4: to speak or anybody that'll listen to him. I have
- 35:35Speaker 4: millions of people that listen to me, you know what
- 35:38Speaker 4: I mean. So it's like that's like a blessing. So
- 35:40Speaker 4: just being able to make that music and see like
- 35:42Speaker 4: where it coincigns with people and like who relates to
- 35:45Speaker 4: people walking up to me? Like just even this weekend
- 35:47Speaker 4: being a complex called, so many people walked up.
- 35:49Speaker 7: To me, like I do, walk up to me like, bro,
- 35:50Speaker 7: you got me do part times and that's beautiful.
- 35:53Speaker 2: And I'm not like ride Wave or nothing.
- 35:55Speaker 4: So it's like, you know what I'm saying, I don't
- 35:56Speaker 4: make the same type of music he make, but just
- 35:58Speaker 4: knowing that my art can get somebody through, they can
- 36:01Speaker 4: can help somebody the same thing is doing for me,
- 36:03Speaker 4: it is doing for somebody else. So h yeah, that's
- 36:06Speaker 4: like dope. And then performing it. The best part about
- 36:08Speaker 4: performing it is seeing that they know it.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, like seeing them sing your lyrics kay.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Word for word. That's like the most warming experience. I'll
- 36:17Speaker 2: get caught looking at people singing oh for real.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I didn't like sometimes I gotta wear glasses
- 36:22Speaker 4: because like I'll be too into it, Like I'm like, yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 4: like I would like I'm a concert goer like I
- 36:27Speaker 4: love music, like I seen music like Hello out all
- 36:29Speaker 4: day in the house and.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Stuff like that. So it's like I'll be when I'm
- 36:32Speaker 2: locked in with you. I'm locked in with you, you know
- 36:34Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 36:35Speaker 1: So your last ep was make the West grade again,
- 36:39Speaker 1: make the.
- 36:39Speaker 2: West grade again. It made the worst grade again.
- 36:44Speaker 1: So, uh, you are one of the top LA artists
- 36:49Speaker 1: out right. Now, what are your like big plans? What
- 36:53Speaker 1: can people expect from you? And what else would you
- 36:58Speaker 1: like to accomplish too.
- 36:59Speaker 4: I'm gonna going to extraordinary run like this next run
- 37:02Speaker 4: that I'm about to go on, me dropping new music
- 37:04Speaker 4: and just getting into my artistry and typing into my
- 37:07Speaker 4: talents more.
- 37:08Speaker 2: I think I'm a little bit more comfortable.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Like I'm the type of person that i'd be scared
- 37:14Speaker 4: to move forward cause, uh, I'm scared to fail.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Really, Yeah, you don't even seem like that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yeah, No, I'll be like really like I'm really planning, planning, planning,
- 37:27Speaker 2: planning and planning, Like I'm really be scared to be
- 37:29Speaker 2: judged little key sometimes.
- 37:30Speaker 4: So like I'll just like suppress how hard I'm going,
- 37:33Speaker 4: Like i won't do certain things. I'll sit back and
- 37:35Speaker 4: wait to do things until things get bigger. I feel
- 37:37Speaker 4: like right now I'm in like such a comfortable space
- 37:39Speaker 4: where like I feel like I've grown out of that,
- 37:42Speaker 4: like I don't really have any fears anymore.
- 37:43Speaker 2: As an artist.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Is just like fucking I'm gonna go hard and if
- 37:46Speaker 4: they you know, they gonna like it or they not.
- 37:48Speaker 4: And me just getting back comfortable. I think it all
- 37:50Speaker 4: started with me, Like I started doing these freestyles every Friday.
- 37:53Speaker 4: That's something that I would just be doing and I
- 37:55Speaker 4: just never posted it.
- 37:57Speaker 2: You know. Now now I'm posting them. I'm just taking
- 38:00Speaker 2: my career like a lot more serious, you know what
- 38:02Speaker 2: I mean.
- 38:03Speaker 1: I like that for you, and I could tell you
- 38:05Speaker 1: whatever you do you put even by the way you
