Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: I drove 200 miles with my car smelling like cat pee.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Oh. Oh, yeah.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I'll tell you all about it here. 106.7 Light FM.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Copy and Christine. Producer Kristen. I was at Virginia Beach
- 0:09Speaker 1: over the weekend. I mentioned this yesterday. And my dad
- 0:12Speaker 1: is being moved from independent living to assisted living. So
- 0:16Speaker 1: he's being downsized. He's 95 years old. God bless him.
- 0:19Speaker 1: He's hanging in there.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:21Speaker 1: But his cognitive has dropped a little bit. And unfortunately,
- 0:25Speaker 1: the building he lives in has said he probably can't
- 0:27Speaker 1: really care for his two cats anymore. And it's true.
- 0:32Speaker 1: He was forgetting to do it. And, you know, there
- 0:34Speaker 1: was a lot of issues there. Anyway, we found the
- 0:37Speaker 1: place he adopted the cats from about eight years ago
- 0:40Speaker 1: and they agreed to take them back. So we surrendered
- 0:42Speaker 1: them over the weekend. It was very tough for all
- 0:45Speaker 1: of us. But I've been getting updates from this place
- 0:48Speaker 1: called Hope for Life in Virginia. And they've already said
- 0:50Speaker 1: how they're. Very happy, and they may have a home
- 0:54Speaker 1: for them soon. Oh, that's great. You have to go
- 0:55Speaker 1: as a pair. Oh, that's great. So all's looking great there. Yeah, uh-huh.
- 0:58Speaker 1: But one of the cats that my dad had was
- 1:01Speaker 1: very skittish, never came out, always under the bed, and
- 1:05Speaker 1: used to spray. Oh, no. Where they don't use the
- 1:09Speaker 1: litter box all the time. Oh, no. And pee wherever
- 1:11Speaker 1: they want.
- 1:12Speaker 2: And that smell. Oh.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It's bad.
- 1:15Speaker 2: It's bad and you can't.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Get it out. And I don't know how my dad
- 1:17Speaker 1: lived in it. I guess that's part of the age.
- 1:19Speaker 1: He used to be like, I don't smell anything. It
- 1:21Speaker 1: was horrible. Anyway, long story short, I agreed to take
- 1:24Speaker 1: some furniture that we really like that my dad can't
- 1:27Speaker 1: use in his old, actually in his new apartment from
- 1:29Speaker 1: his old apartment. So I agreed to take some furniture.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I put it in the car and all of a
- 1:34Speaker 1: sudden we're driving and it smells like cat pee.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Oh no.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Lo and behold, some of the furniture, the legs of
- 1:41Speaker 1: the furniture had been sprayed on. So our drive from
- 1:44Speaker 1: Virginia Beach to Jersey over the weekend was that.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Oh, that's pleasant.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So then I put it in the garage temporarily. And
- 1:51Speaker 1: then last night, we have a vacation home in Pennsylvania.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And I have to go there today to check on something.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And Coco goes, my wife, she goes, why don't you
- 1:59Speaker 1: just take that piece of furniture to PA? Because that's
- 2:01Speaker 1: where it's going to end up ultimately. So it's in
- 2:03Speaker 1: my car right now. So my drive here. And I
- 2:07Speaker 1: had the AC blasting. That helped a little bit. Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Sorry to be gross early in the morning, but that's
- 2:13Speaker 1: what I'm up against here.
- 2:14Speaker 2: That's a really hard odor to remove.
- 2:18Speaker 1: And a hard problem to fix.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I think he tried to do something to break the
- 2:23Speaker 1: habit of spring, but that cat just always did it
- 2:27Speaker 1: and would be in the middle of the house and
- 2:29Speaker 1: just in the corner or on furniture. Yikes. Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 1: That's a bad smell. If you could tell me how
- 2:37Speaker 1: to get it out, I mean, I know there's like OxyClean.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Does anybody have success on spraying something on furniture and
- 2:46Speaker 1: getting that smell out? If you could text 44363, you
- 2:49Speaker 1: could help me.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. We'll try and find something for you. Well,
- 2:53Speaker 2: I'm glad Archie, my cat, is okay. We should do
- 2:57Speaker 2: a cat podcast. We need to do a cat podcast
- 2:59Speaker 2: because Eric left the house. He travels in the middle
- 3:02Speaker 2: of the night because it's easier for him with his
- 3:04Speaker 2: drummer schedule, right? So he left late last night. Good
- 3:08Speaker 2: thing I get up at like 3 o'clock in the
- 3:09Speaker 2: morning because Eric, for whatever reason, closed the bathroom door
- 3:14Speaker 2: that is like the boys' bathroom. That's where Archie's litter
- 3:17Speaker 2: box is.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Oh, so he just closed it. No way Archie can
- 3:21Speaker 1: get in.
- 3:21Speaker 2: He closed it behind him. Archie can pick a lock.
- 3:23Speaker 2: He's pretty talented. but there's no way he could have
- 3:26Speaker 2: worked his way into there. So I'm glad I was
- 3:28Speaker 2: up early because, yeah, I know.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I was going to say, did Archie make a mistake somewhere?
- 3:32Speaker 2: No, no, no, he didn't. But I don't want him
- 3:34Speaker 2: to get into that habit.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I picture him in front of the door pacing, you know,
- 3:36Speaker 1: like when you're waiting for a restaurant.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Okay, now would be good. Open the door. Oh, and
- 3:41Speaker 2: another quick thing, Cubby. You recommended like Cat TV for
- 3:45Speaker 2: Archie so he could see squirrels and birds.
- 3:47Speaker 1: If you go to YouTube, you can type in all
- 3:49Speaker 1: kinds of.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It has gone so wrong for us.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Oh, you've done it.
- 3:52Speaker 2: We have a problem. We have a serious, serious problem.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Archie is addicted. And he is cut off because he
- 4:00Speaker 2: literally tried to jump through the TV.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh, they'll do that?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but he could get hurt. It's so high. We
- 4:08Speaker 2: were really scared. He jumped up really high, scratched the TV,
- 4:11Speaker 2: and then fell and then did it twice before he
- 4:15Speaker 2: could get up to turn off the TV. And now
- 4:18Speaker 2: he just sits and gazes upon the TV like, Surely
- 4:23Speaker 2: they'll come back. And if we put the TV on
- 4:25Speaker 2: just to watch the news or a show, whatever it is,
- 4:27Speaker 2: he just sits there and watches with us. And it's
- 4:29Speaker 2: like they're not coming back. Right. Like you've been cut off.
- 4:32Speaker 1: You're not going to go to YouTube and put a
- 4:34Speaker 1: squirrel video on ever again.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I can't. You can't handle it.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
- 4:37Speaker 2: But the poor guy. Now we have a TV addiction.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I love it.
- 4:41Speaker 2: So we have to fix that.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Well, you know, open the window shades if you can.
- 4:44Speaker 1: As you know, that's another TV for a cat. Just
- 4:47Speaker 1: looking out the windows watching TV for them. All right.
- 4:49Speaker 1: We have Sting concert tickets coming up at 7.25 this morning.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Teddy Swims at 8.10. And we have you, 106.7 Light FM.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Thanks for having us on.
