- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hey everybody, Brian Smith here with the item team series and your daily influence.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: And today, I'm going to be capping off this really pivotal week for us here at daily influence.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: Just a couple days ago, it was our 600th episode.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, it got me
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: what we do here at Daily Influence and what it really means for us at the IM team series.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I'm going to take some time here to like reinforce Wednesday's message about influence.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to slow down and look back and I want to give you something that will help you to integrate this slow down and the intentional review of influence.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully in your weekly or even daily lives.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, influence is not just about
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: What we did in the past, but how we influenced, and also how others influenced us.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I journal all the time, so I actually write down some of these things intentionally, and it certainly is not for everybody, but it doesn't mean we can't have some self-reflecting and understand what's going on as it relates to how influence is in our lives and what it's doing to us, how to regular basis, and
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: you know, reviewing your week through the lens of influence gives meaning to our actions.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: It adds accountability to our words and clarity for our growth.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: So let's reflect together about how we can use influences of mirror, not a measure, but a mirror of where we've been.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, one of the things we often do with our days or our weeks or our monsters, we judge them, we judge them as good or bad.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: But one thing we could do is just ask, how did my influence show up in that period of time?
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: In this past week, did I leave?
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: people better than I leave them calmer, did I add confidence to them?
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Or did my influence intentionally or even unintentionally add stress or confusion to my specific area of influence?
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, it's not about the volume of what we do.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's about the intention behind it and look.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: If you were on intentional or you were taking things for granted you can't beat yourself up over to it But use that reflection to see what that influence mirrors back to you and then think how can I improve that in my future?
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: And the other thing about our influence is actually recognizing not understanding but recognizing we have a ripple.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Where did your influence begin?
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: this week and where might it still be rippling through your specific areas of influence?
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: How did you influence the people in your present area of influence your work environment or your home environment?
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, did I have a kind word or a difficult conversation that was handled with grace?
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe I had a patient response that can carry forward far beyond
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: that immediate awareness that I had, you know, what am I doing that's pushing my influence out?
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: And as we review that past time and what our influence is doing, it can help us to stay mindful, not only about where we've been, but how we move forward.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And it can help us to contribute more
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: influence story.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing that's really important about these self-reflecting moments is why are we doing them?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: Are we doing them just to do a review and understanding?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Or are we doing them because we are going to prepare to begin a new week, a new storyline?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: a new day doesn't matter what the time frame is, but we're preparing to begin again, and the purpose of our review isn't to dwell, it is to prepare, it is to improve and make ourselves better, more positive, more responsible.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: What lessons from your end and flow on this week?
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: can we carry forward?
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: What can I adjust?
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: What can I let go of?
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: And how can I use that to reinforce my intentional actions in the near future?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, influence grows through awareness.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Each week is a new opportunity to be intentional, to new opportunity to be responsible and positive, and it can show up by us being kind in how we show up.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: It can help us to be that person that we really want to be, and oftentimes that gets lost in the chaos of our days.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: So look, as we wrap up this amazing week that we've had here at the IMT series and daily influence, take a moment to data pause and look at your own ripple of influence.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: who did you inspire?
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: And how did those experiences shape you in return?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Every week offers a new chance, every day offers a new chance, every moment offers a new chance to refine your influence, to bring a little more intention, and to keep building the eye in your team.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: So thanks for reflecting with me.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for being here with us.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Until next time, stay aware, stay kind and keep influencing with positive and responsible purpose.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Have a great day.
