- 0:29Speaker 1: New admirer trying to steal her from them both and

- 0:35Speaker 2: It is like an obsession.
- 0:37Speaker 5: It was like a.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Crime Watch Daily's Michelle Sigona with the private eye who
- 0:41Speaker 1: trapped the suspect and the explosive trial that pitt Kelly's
- 0:45Speaker 1: mother against her killer.

- 1:09Speaker 1: Welcome to crime Watch Daly, everyone. I'm Chris Hansen. First,
- 1:12Speaker 1: up today. It's the type of picture posted thousands of
- 1:15Speaker 1: times a day on social media, but sadly, this selfie
- 1:19Speaker 1: of soldier Kelly Bordeaux would be her last. Michelle Sagona
- 1:23Speaker 1: has more on the mystery of what happened next.
- 1:28Speaker 8: A beautiful young gi Jane mysteriously vanishes after a night
- 1:32Speaker 8: of rn R at a bar near her army base.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Her superiors knew that this wasn't a soldier that went awa.
- 1:39Speaker 8: And cops come to suspect thou'll play theorizing that one
- 1:43Speaker 8: of three men vying for the love of Private first
- 1:46Speaker 8: Class Kelly Bordeaux may have murdered her and a jealous rage.
- 1:51Speaker 8: I thought it was Mike, Kelly's pining a strange husband.
- 1:56Speaker 8: The first name I heard of was Justin, Kelly's secret boyfriend.
- 2:03Speaker 11: I said, to be afraid of Nicholas, her last admirer.
- 2:08Speaker 3: They broke it down in like a circle, so they
- 2:09Speaker 3: said Kelly's in the middle.
- 2:12Speaker 8: Twenty three year old Kelly Bordeaux was a combat medicare
- 2:15Speaker 8: in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and her bethling disappearance would
- 2:20Speaker 8: shock residents of Fayetteville, the quiet little southern town that
- 2:24Speaker 8: Fort Bragg put on the map.
- 2:26Speaker 10: It's gripping because it is a young lady who is
- 2:31Speaker 10: just starting out on life, and she's like any other
- 2:34Speaker 10: twenty something year old who's going to go and have
- 2:38Speaker 10: a good time, hang out with some friends, and not
- 2:41Speaker 10: a hint that anything could happen the way it.
- 2:45Speaker 8: Did, making this mystery all the more compelling that Kelly
- 2:50Speaker 8: was hardly your profile soldier, a former high school cheerleader
- 2:55Speaker 8: and beauty queen whose good looks had always made her
- 2:58Speaker 8: a magnet for male suitors. Her older brother and sister
- 3:02Speaker 8: were constantly having to fight off.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Boys were like trying to flirt with her.
- 3:05Speaker 12: Oh, they'd pick her up, and I'd just look at
- 3:07Speaker 12: them and they knew put her down, like, don't touch
- 3:09Speaker 12: her again.
- 3:10Speaker 8: And Kelly's gregarious, fun loving personality also made her one
- 3:14Speaker 8: of the most popular girls in her hometown of sink Cloud, Florida.
- 3:18Speaker 12: She would become friends with people and see the best
- 3:22Speaker 12: of them instantaneously.
- 3:24Speaker 10: She just seemed like an all American kind of girl
- 3:27Speaker 10: who just enjoyed having a good time.
- 3:31Speaker 8: But Nancy McCleary, a staff writer with the Fanfville Observer,
- 3:34Speaker 8: says the petite, five foot one inch blonde was also
- 3:37Speaker 8: as tough as nails.
- 3:39Speaker 10: There was a spirit about her that seemed independent, feisty.
- 3:46Speaker 8: That, along with the passion for adventure and a dream
- 3:49Speaker 8: of seeing the world, is what made the military a
- 3:51Speaker 8: natural calling for her.
- 3:53Speaker 3: She had went to college prior, but she wanted something more.
- 3:56Speaker 6: I think she's a good challenge, a good opportunity.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, challenge for.
- 3:59Speaker 8: Sure, and Kelly becoming a combat medic also satisfied Kelly's
- 4:03Speaker 8: desire to help people when you're.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Putting yourself on the line trying to save whethers.
- 4:08Speaker 8: Kelly had been stationed at Fort Bragg for only a
- 4:11Speaker 8: couple of months since completing basic training and boot camp,
- 4:15Speaker 8: and her husband of less than two years, Mike Bordeaux,
- 4:18Speaker 8: had moved with her from Saint Cloud, Florida, the couple
- 4:21Speaker 8: settling into an off base apartment together.
- 4:24Speaker 2: But there were problems in their relationship.
- 4:26Speaker 8: Is that right?
- 4:27Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 4:27Speaker 8: I mean they were young.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah, well it was never a yet.
- 4:32Speaker 8: Dave Marshburne, a private eye who conducted his own investigation
- 4:35Speaker 8: into Kelly's disappearance, says the stress of adjusting to a
- 4:38Speaker 8: new life in another state would put their marriage under
- 4:41Speaker 8: even more pressure, with Mike unable to find a job
- 4:46Speaker 8: and drinking heavily.
- 4:47Speaker 5: She just had enough focus.
- 4:50Speaker 8: The couple would decide to take a trial break from
- 4:52Speaker 8: each other, Mike returning home to Florida and Kelly remaining
- 4:56Speaker 8: alone in Fayetteville, where she knew nobody other than her.
- 4:59Speaker 8: Felt those soldiers at Fort Bragg.
- 5:02Speaker 12: It's also a lot of trying to figure out your
- 5:04Speaker 12: place in Fort Bragg and with your unit there, in
- 5:07Speaker 12: your company there, and seeing who your friends are there.
- 5:11Speaker 8: But the private life of Private First Class Kelly Bordeaux
- 5:14Speaker 8: was about to get complicated. For about a year, Kelly
- 5:19Speaker 8: had been having an affair with a secret boyfriend named
- 5:21Speaker 8: Justin Thompson, whom she'd met back in Saint Cloud, Florida,
- 5:25Speaker 8: before joining the military.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Do you think Kelly really liked Justin?
- 5:30Speaker 10: Oh?
- 5:30Speaker 8: Yeah, Sister Olivia says, Kelly liked Justin so much she
- 5:34Speaker 8: had decided to divorce Mike, who had no idea his
- 5:38Speaker 8: estranged wife already had a new man.
- 5:41Speaker 12: I think the plan was eventually like, once she was
- 5:44Speaker 12: officially on paper divorce is justin, come and be there
- 5:48Speaker 12: and see what the relationship can turn into.
- 5:51Speaker 8: But ironically, it would be during one of Justin's weekend
- 5:54Speaker 8: visits to Fayetteville, that Kelly would meet yet another suitor,
- 5:58Speaker 8: Nicholas Holbert, who worked as a helper at a local
- 6:01Speaker 8: bar called Froggy Bottoms, where Kelly and Justin had gone
- 6:04Speaker 8: for drinks.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Nick gave her his telephone number and tried to befriend her.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Do you think he was interested in her?
- 6:11Speaker 5: Oh?
- 6:11Speaker 8: Yeah, but p I Marshburne says Kelly thought of Nick
- 6:15Speaker 8: only as a drinking buddy at Froggy Bottoms after boyfriend
- 6:19Speaker 8: Justin had returned home to Florida.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Nick offered the week before to bring her back out there, and.
- 6:25Speaker 8: She accepted, returning to Froggy Bottoms with him the following
- 6:31Speaker 8: Friday night.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Right before she went.
- 6:33Speaker 12: Out, she just said, hey, does this look okay? And
- 6:35Speaker 12: send me a picture of her? And I was like, yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 12: you look cute.
- 6:39Speaker 8: It would turn out to be the last photo of Kelly,
- 6:41Speaker 8: who would never be seen again after leaving Froggy Bottoms
- 6:44Speaker 8: later that night with Nick Hobert.
- 6:47Speaker 10: That last picture of her is haunting.
- 6:51Speaker 8: Next, Nick joins Kelly's estranged husband Mike, and boyfriend Justin
- 6:56Speaker 8: as persons of interest in her disappearance, but reportedly not
- 7:00Speaker 8: the main one.
- 7:01Speaker 5: The police department's number one person of interest and I
- 7:03Speaker 5: did none of this for a fact was the husband
- 7:07Speaker 5: not Nick.
- 7:08Speaker 4: But I didn't drink, none of this would have happened.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Ever, Fort Bragg's soldier Kelly Bordeaux needed to blow off
- 7:16Speaker 1: some steams, so she headed out to a local bar
- 7:19Speaker 1: to meet up with some friends who knew that would
- 7:21Speaker 1: be the last time she would ever be seen.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Michelsea Goona is back with more On the.
- 7:27Speaker 8: Friday night she disappeared private first class. Kelly Bordeaux had
- 7:31Speaker 8: been excited about going out to have some fun after
- 7:34Speaker 8: another hard week at Fort brast.
- 7:38Speaker 3: I was like, Okay, have fun, make car, talk to
- 7:40Speaker 3: you tomorrow.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Everything seemed normal.
- 7:42Speaker 8: Oh yeah, Kelly wouldn't drink and drive, so her new acquaintance,
- 7:47Speaker 8: Nicholas Hulbert, had given her a ride to Froggy Bottoms,
- 7:51Speaker 8: where he worked as a general helper.
- 7:53Speaker 9: Wait and picked her up and went back to the
- 7:56Speaker 9: bar right bu drink ton karaoke. Everything was going good.
- 8:03Speaker 8: Kelly had even told boyfriend Justin Thompson, who was living
- 8:06Speaker 8: in Florida, that Nick was taking her to the bar.
- 8:09Speaker 8: And Justin, who met Nick with Kelly at the bar
- 8:12Speaker 8: just a week earlier, wasn't happy about it.
- 8:15Speaker 11: I said, to be afraid of Nicholas. I told her
- 8:17Speaker 11: he was creepy.
- 8:18Speaker 2: And what did she say?
- 8:19Speaker 11: She's like, I'll be fine, and I'm like guh. I
- 8:21Speaker 11: was like, I don't know. I even texted her that
- 8:23Speaker 11: night before she left, was like, you better bring her
- 8:24Speaker 11: pepper spray.
- 8:25Speaker 8: Private eye David Marshburne, who conducted his own investigation of
- 8:29Speaker 8: the Kelly Bordeaux case, says Nick considered their night at
- 8:32Speaker 8: Froggie Bottom's a date, but Kelly didn't.
- 8:35Speaker 5: She was there to have fun. That's how it was.
- 8:38Speaker 5: She was there as a friend. He was there as
- 8:40Speaker 5: trying to be a boyfriend.
- 8:42Speaker 8: But Kelly just thought of him as a drinking buddy.
- 8:45Speaker 5: They went to the bar and she basically didn't pay
- 8:48Speaker 5: him any attention. She was singing, cutting up, flirting with
- 8:52Speaker 5: other guys, you know, just being friendly.
- 8:56Speaker 8: Kelly would leave Froggie Bottoms with Nick sometime after midnight.
- 9:00Speaker 2: She had had a few drinks at this point, right, but.
- 9:02Speaker 5: She wasn't drunk. Her bar tab wasn't enough to make
- 9:06Speaker 5: somebody dizzy.
- 9:07Speaker 8: Nick would later tell cops that he'd dropped Kelly off
- 9:10Speaker 8: near her apartment and boyfriend Justin received a text from
- 9:15Speaker 8: Kelly's cell phone later that night, reading quote, got home safe,
- 9:18Speaker 8: I'm going to bed call me tomorrow.
- 9:21Speaker 11: It was so weird. She just like the text message
- 9:23Speaker 11: before that was hey, call me, call me.
- 9:26Speaker 8: He did constantly all weekend to no avail.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You can't get a hold of your friend. You're calling her,
- 9:33Speaker 2: you're texting her, nothing's happening.
- 9:37Speaker 8: So he alerted Kelly's family.
- 9:39Speaker 3: And he's like, no, something's up. Something happened, like something's
- 9:42Speaker 3: going on, and he knew immediately.
- 9:44Speaker 8: Then when Kelly doesn't report for duty at Fourth Bragg
- 9:46Speaker 8: on Monday morning and there's no sign of her at
- 9:49Speaker 8: the apartment, friend's family and Armie Brass really get worried.
- 9:53Speaker 12: That's not Kelly, especially not Kelly. She's a soldier and
- 9:57Speaker 12: that's always first and foremost. First superiors knew that this
- 10:00Speaker 12: wasn't a soldier that went a walk.
- 10:02Speaker 8: Kelly is reported missing to police and a massive search
- 10:05Speaker 8: is mounted.
- 10:06Speaker 12: And I did the first interview with the medium, just begging,
- 10:10Speaker 12: begging and crying and just begging for anybody who knew anything.
- 10:13Speaker 3: My sister was missing and I needed help finding her.
- 10:16Speaker 10: The search efforts were tremendous I mean.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Four wheelers, horse fat people in both imagine.
- 10:22Speaker 10: They called for volunteers to come out and help search,
- 10:27Speaker 10: and I think it was around five hundred people.
- 10:29Speaker 8: Showed up, among them Nick Holbert and Kelly's a strange
- 10:33Speaker 8: tubby Michael, who along with her boyfriend Justin were the
- 10:36Speaker 8: cops main persons of interest.
- 10:39Speaker 10: In most of these cases. They're going to look at
- 10:41Speaker 10: anyone who is connected to this person, especially anyone who
- 10:45Speaker 10: is having a relationship.
- 10:47Speaker 12: They broke it down in like a circle, so they said,
- 10:49Speaker 12: Kelly's in the middle, we're gonna look at the people.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Closest to her first.
- 10:52Speaker 8: And because Nick was the last known person to see
- 10:55Speaker 8: Kelly before she vanished, he was immediately under heavy suspicion.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Holbert was as soon as we knew that Holbert was
- 11:02Speaker 3: the last person to see her.
- 11:04Speaker 8: But it seemed like everyone in faith Ville had their
- 11:07Speaker 8: own idea of who might have had something to do
- 11:10Speaker 8: with Kelly's disappearance.
- 11:11Speaker 10: I thought it was Mike. Why did you think of it,
- 11:14Speaker 10: because it's always the husband or the estranged husband.
- 11:17Speaker 2: So you weren't even looking at anyone else. You were
- 11:20Speaker 2: thinking that.
- 11:21Speaker 10: In the back of my mind, it was it was Mike. Bourdett.
- 11:26Speaker 3: That's her spouse, and they're separated, and it's questionable.
- 11:31Speaker 8: Staff writer Nancy McCleary of the Fayetteville Observer says she
- 11:34Speaker 8: found Mike's behavior suspicious after he'd rushed up from Florida
- 11:38Speaker 8: to join the search for Kelly.
- 11:40Speaker 10: He was very distraught, very emotional.
- 11:44Speaker 8: The police were reportedly also highly suspicious of Mike.
- 11:49Speaker 5: The police department's person of interest, number one person of interest,
- 11:52Speaker 5: and I did know this for a fact, was the husband,
- 11:56Speaker 5: not Nick.
- 11:57Speaker 8: Mike had provided police with a verified alibi that he
- 11:59Speaker 8: was at his home in Sant Cloud, Florida, hundreds of
- 12:02Speaker 8: miles from Veyathelle, North Carolina, when his estranged wife disappeared,
- 12:08Speaker 8: But Nancy McCleary says there was widespread talk among local
- 12:12Speaker 8: media that it was still possible for him to have
- 12:14Speaker 8: slipped into Fayetteville and harmed Kelly.
- 12:17Speaker 10: It was about a six hour drive, and we figured
- 12:20Speaker 10: that given that she had last been seen leaving the
- 12:25Speaker 10: bar between midnight and two am, and that she wasn't
- 12:29Speaker 10: discovered missing until much later that well, that gives him
- 12:34Speaker 10: ample time to get down there, to get down there
- 12:36Speaker 10: and get back.
- 12:37Speaker 8: But Michael Bordeaux had his own suspect in mind, the
- 12:41Speaker 8: first name I heard of was Justin, the other man
- 12:45Speaker 8: who had won his wife's affection away from him.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Had you ever met Justin?
- 12:50Speaker 8: No? Next, Michael Bordeaux breaks his silence to speak for
- 12:54Speaker 8: the first time about the tragic love triangle in a
- 12:57Speaker 8: cheerful interview with Crime Watch Daily.
- 13:00Speaker 4: She's like a dream girl.
- 13:01Speaker 8: Really.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Now back to the story of missing soldier Kelly Bordeaux.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Here's Michelle Sigana Chris.
- 13:12Speaker 8: Soldier Kelly Bordeaux has been missing for more than two years.
- 13:15Speaker 8: At first, police questioned her estranged husband, Mike, and at
- 13:19Speaker 8: a Crime Watch Daily exclusive, Mike is finally breaking his
- 13:22Speaker 8: silence about what it was like living life under a microscope.
- 13:28Speaker 8: Private First Class Kelly Bordeaux had been keeping an intimate,
- 13:31Speaker 8: in perilous secret. The beautiful twenty three year old soldier
- 13:36Speaker 8: had been having an extra marital affair for more than
- 13:39Speaker 8: a year, and her husband Michael didn't have a clue.
- 13:44Speaker 2: So you didn't know about anything up until that point.
- 13:46Speaker 9: Right.
- 13:48Speaker 8: Until he and the other men in the love triangle,
- 13:51Speaker 8: Justin Thompson, both found themselves persons of interest when Kelly
- 13:55Speaker 8: when Missy.
- 13:56Speaker 7: The detective was the first person to tell me about it.
- 14:00Speaker 10: Now.
- 14:00Speaker 8: In exclusive interviews with Prime Watch Daily, each of them
- 14:04Speaker 8: talks for the first time about loving the same woman
- 14:07Speaker 8: and living under a cloud of suspicion after Kelly's mysterious disappearance.
- 14:12Speaker 11: I feel like I have to like think about her
- 14:14Speaker 11: on the daily just because I is aucass event about it.
- 14:20Speaker 11: I don't know what you do to me, but it's tough.
- 14:28Speaker 13: I mean everything about everything. She's like a dream girl, really.
- 14:39Speaker 8: Michael Bordeaux had fallen in love with Kelly at first sight.
- 14:43Speaker 7: As soon as I saw I was just like, yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 7: I know she's She's special.
- 14:48Speaker 8: I knew it, and the two would be married in
- 14:51Speaker 8: their hometown of Saint Cloud, Florida, despite some family misgivings
- 14:56Speaker 8: when they were in their early twenties. They were both
- 14:58Speaker 8: so young, but Kelly and Mike made a nice looking couple.
- 15:04Speaker 7: We were living fine, we were happy, we weren't broke,
- 15:06Speaker 7: we were doing pretty good.
- 15:09Speaker 8: Then, just three months after the wedding, they hit the
- 15:12Speaker 8: first bump in their young marriage when Kelly decided she
- 15:15Speaker 8: wanted to pursue a career in the military.
- 15:18Speaker 14: I didn't like it because I didn't want to lose
- 15:21Speaker 14: her to the military. I didn't want her to go
- 15:23Speaker 14: in overseas.
- 15:25Speaker 8: But it determined Kelly wouldn't be deterred.
- 15:28Speaker 7: She was just thinking about her future. She kept telling
- 15:30Speaker 7: me that she was like, it's our future.
- 15:32Speaker 8: And Kelly would leave Mike at home in Florida while
- 15:34Speaker 8: she went away to basic training and boot camp.
- 15:37Speaker 4: That was like eight or nine months that I didn't
- 15:39Speaker 4: have her at all.
- 15:41Speaker 8: The two would finally be together again when Kelly was
- 15:44Speaker 8: assigned to Fort Bragg and Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Mike
- 15:47Speaker 8: moved there with her, hoping to start a family.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I wanted a baby, and she thought she wanted a baby.
- 15:55Speaker 8: But Mike had no job and a bad drinking problem.
- 15:59Speaker 2: And you admit to that.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I am a big alcoholic.
- 16:02Speaker 11: I was really bad.
- 16:04Speaker 8: And Kelly had a change of mind.
- 16:07Speaker 4: She didn't want a baby anymore.
- 16:09Speaker 8: It appeared Kelly didn't want Mike anymore either.
- 16:13Speaker 4: She needed to take a break, that's what I thought, and.
- 16:16Speaker 8: He moved back to Florida.
- 16:18Speaker 2: You thought, you guys are thought break.
- 16:20Speaker 14: I thought, not even like a breakup, like just to
- 16:25Speaker 14: just give me, give me two weeks or a month
- 16:27Speaker 14: or you know.
- 16:28Speaker 4: And I didn't have a problem with that. I said,
- 16:30Speaker 4: I will give you whatever you need because I want
- 16:33Speaker 4: to be with you forever.
- 16:35Speaker 8: What Mike didn't know was that his wife wanted their
- 16:37Speaker 8: separation to be permanent so she could be with Justin Thompson,
- 16:41Speaker 8: her secret other man, and like Mike, Justin Thompson had
- 16:46Speaker 8: also fallen in love with the gorgeous Kelly. When they
- 16:49Speaker 8: first met at a bar.
- 16:50Speaker 11: She was just bright, bubbly, louder. I could hear a
- 16:54Speaker 11: voice leg over the crowd, you know, so.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I just she stood out at a crowd. Yeah, you
- 16:58Speaker 2: didn't know she was married at the time.
- 17:00Speaker 11: Oh, she didn't have a ring on. And it was
- 17:03Speaker 11: funny because we were hanging out. One of her friends
- 17:06Speaker 11: told me that she was married, and that was like.
- 17:10Speaker 11: I was like, well, I don't care, it's not my problem.
- 17:14Speaker 8: Justin was not only impressed by Kelly's beauty and sparkling personality,
- 17:18Speaker 8: but also her brave decision to become a combat medic
- 17:22Speaker 8: in the army.
- 17:23Speaker 11: I don't know how you would want to choose that,
- 17:24Speaker 11: because you can go to anything you want to. She
- 17:27Speaker 11: choos medic. I was like Cally Amen.
- 17:29Speaker 8: After dating Kelly for about a year and with Mike,
- 17:32Speaker 8: finally out of the picture. Justin was about to take
- 17:35Speaker 8: his place in Kelly's life in Fayetteville.
- 17:38Speaker 5: I was about to live up there.
- 17:40Speaker 8: And Kelly was said to have been planning to divorce
- 17:42Speaker 8: Mike with the view of possibly Mary and Justin.
- 17:46Speaker 11: So you guys were serious, Yeah, I mean we kicked
- 17:49Speaker 11: that Mike out, so he was like they were done.
- 17:52Speaker 8: But Kelly would mysteriously go missing just as Justin was
- 17:56Speaker 8: prepping to move to Fayetteville to be with her. Investigators
- 18:00Speaker 8: naturally speculated that Mike had perhaps learned Kelly had been
- 18:04Speaker 8: having an affair and killed her out of jealousy.
- 18:07Speaker 5: I did have to look at the husband, but Mike.
- 18:11Speaker 8: Insists he didn't learn Kelly was in love with another
- 18:14Speaker 8: man until detectives told him when they questioned him.
- 18:18Speaker 14: I just didn't want to hear it. I didn't want
- 18:20Speaker 14: to believe any of this was real.
- 18:22Speaker 2: When you heard the name of Justin, what did you think?
- 18:25Speaker 2: Had you ever heard this name?
- 18:26Speaker 8: No? No, I have no, And Mike says Kelly's affair
- 18:30Speaker 8: with Justin was the least of his concerns.
- 18:34Speaker 14: Whatever was happening. I don't care about that. That's not
- 18:37Speaker 14: what I'm trying to figure out. I'm trying to figure
- 18:39Speaker 14: out where my wife is. I'm trying to find out
- 18:43Speaker 14: anything and everything to do with that.
- 18:45Speaker 8: But he also had suspicions that the man who stole
- 18:48Speaker 8: his wife might have had something to.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Do with her disappearance.
- 18:52Speaker 4: I think the first name I heard of was Justin.
- 18:56Speaker 8: And police wonder if Justin and Kelly may have had
- 18:58Speaker 8: a lover's tif, perhaps after she told him she was
- 19:01Speaker 8: going out drinking with Nick Hulbert. Nick was a bar helper.
- 19:06Speaker 8: They both met while drinking at Froggy Bottoms when Justin
- 19:10Speaker 8: visited Kelly and Fayetteville just a week before she went missing,
- 19:14Speaker 8: and he would be the last known person to see
- 19:16Speaker 8: her alive after leaving the very same bar with her.
- 19:19Speaker 11: He was really strange. He's like, it's like his eyes.
- 19:23Speaker 11: He was like staring. He's like, I don't know what
- 19:26Speaker 11: star to me her.
- 19:29Speaker 8: Police not only wondered if Justin may have been angry
- 19:32Speaker 8: enough to kill Kelly, they also questioned why he never
- 19:35Speaker 8: contacted police for three days after she went missing, but
- 19:40Speaker 8: Justin says he had in fact been calling police since
- 19:43Speaker 8: the day after Kelly disappeared.
- 19:45Speaker 11: No, he's listening to his nuts.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Go home.
- 19:50Speaker 2: When was your first call to police Saturday? So you
- 19:54Speaker 2: call back again on Sunday.
- 19:56Speaker 8: After being repeatedly rebuffed, he says he decided to try
- 20:00Speaker 8: one last time.
- 20:01Speaker 2: At what point do you pull the plug and say
- 20:04Speaker 2: I have to make a come one day?
- 20:06Speaker 8: And Justin says police finally took his missing person's report seriously.
- 20:11Speaker 11: And I was like, yeah, well, you know, a couple
- 20:13Speaker 11: of days ago it could have been nice.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Man.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I haven't cried onto It's okay.
- 20:20Speaker 8: And like everybody else involved in the case, Justin had
- 20:24Speaker 8: his own suspect.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Did you think Mike had something to do with this?
- 20:29Speaker 9: Uh?
- 20:31Speaker 6: It?
- 20:31Speaker 11: Truthfully no, in my head, everybody that was close had
- 20:36Speaker 11: leg had something to do with it.
- 20:37Speaker 2: But he didn't think he had anything to do it.
- 20:39Speaker 11: He's too much of an emotional lovey w even though
- 20:42Speaker 11: emotional people like react crazy sometimes there he would always
- 20:47Speaker 11: have that hope that he could get Kelly back before
- 20:49Speaker 11: he would try to get rid of her on his own.
- 20:51Speaker 8: Justin pointed a finger at Nick Holbert, the man who
- 20:54Speaker 8: was trying to steal Kelly away from him.
- 20:56Speaker 11: I knew it was him from the being when I
- 20:57Speaker 11: talked to the detectives, I know it was him.
- 21:00Speaker 8: Next, investigators uncover some shocking secrets about one of the
- 21:03Speaker 8: men obsessed with Kelly.
- 21:05Speaker 5: He was just so pervertedly interested in women. It was crazy.
- 21:10Speaker 2: He just it was like an obsession. It was like
- 21:13Speaker 2: a he couldn't control himself.
- 21:18Speaker 1: We're back with the story of a missing soldier, three
- 21:21Speaker 1: persons of interest, and one troubling mystery. As police continue
- 21:25Speaker 1: to try and figure out what happened to Kelly Bordeaux,
- 21:28Speaker 1: a private investigator will start his own investigation.
- 21:32Speaker 5: And he'll have some luck.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Let's head back out to our Michelle Sagona.
- 21:36Speaker 8: Police believe that one of the three men in the
- 21:39Speaker 8: private life of Private first Class Kelly Bordeaux had something
- 21:42Speaker 8: to do with her mysterious disappearance.
- 21:45Speaker 4: I think they were just looking at us three.
- 21:47Speaker 8: Mike Bordeaux, Kelly's recently estranged husband, Justin Thompson, a secret
- 21:52Speaker 8: boyfriend she'd been having an extra marital affair with for
- 21:55Speaker 8: more than a year, And Nicholas Hobert, a new acquaintance
- 21:59Speaker 8: said to be trying to steal Kelly away from Justin.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Do you think he was interested in her?
- 22:04Speaker 5: Oh?
- 22:04Speaker 8: Yeah, But cop said, no evidence to connect any of
- 22:08Speaker 8: them to Kelly. Goy Missy. Both his strange husband Mike
- 22:12Speaker 8: and Kelly's boyfriend Justin had provided alibis that they were
- 22:16Speaker 8: each hundreds of miles away in Saint Cloud, Florida, when
- 22:19Speaker 8: Kelly disappeared and Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Nick Hobert, the
- 22:24Speaker 8: last known person to see Kelly before she vanished, had
- 22:28Speaker 8: told police he dropped her off near her apartment after
- 22:31Speaker 8: an evening and drinking at a Fayetteville bar called Froggy Bottoms.
- 22:36Speaker 9: Everything was going good.
- 22:39Speaker 8: His story was supported by a text boyfriend Justin received
- 22:43Speaker 8: from Kelly's cell phone later that night telling him she
- 22:46Speaker 8: had arrived home safely.
- 22:48Speaker 11: It was so weird. The text message before that was hey,
- 22:50Speaker 11: call me, call me, call me.
- 22:53Speaker 8: Justin was unable to reach Kelly again and suspected Nick
- 22:56Speaker 8: had harmed her.
- 22:57Speaker 11: I knew it was him from the beginning when I
- 22:59Speaker 11: told when I talked to the detectives, I.
- 23:01Speaker 8: Know it was him, and Justin wasn't the only one.
- 23:05Speaker 5: I actually happened to see Nick Hobert on TV doing
- 23:09Speaker 5: his interview on Kelly Bordeaux, pleading.
- 23:12Speaker 8: With the public for information on her whereabouts while he
- 23:15Speaker 8: was out looking for her with hundreds of other searchers.
- 23:19Speaker 5: I told my wife, I said, look, he's a lying
- 23:21Speaker 5: How did you know. I'm like a human light detector
- 23:24Speaker 5: just about I can just tell when people are feeding
- 23:26Speaker 5: me bs. I do it all the time. I feed
- 23:28Speaker 5: people bs like you wouldn't believe. But it's from my job.
- 23:33Speaker 8: David Marshburn is a private detective who's hunted down hundreds
- 23:36Speaker 8: of fugitives wanted for jumping bail, and he was determined
- 23:40Speaker 8: to go after Nick and solve the Kelly Bordeaux mystery.
- 23:44Speaker 5: I told my wife, I said, I want to see
- 23:47Speaker 5: if I can find this girl. I can find somebody
- 23:50Speaker 5: that's on the run, but finding somebody just sitting still,
- 23:53Speaker 5: that's gonna be another task.
- 23:55Speaker 2: You just wanted to go out on your own and
- 23:57Speaker 2: try to figure this out.
- 23:58Speaker 5: If you could, right.
- 24:01Speaker 8: Marshburn's suspicions about Nick would only grow when he learned
- 24:04Speaker 8: he was a homeless drifter living in his truck in
- 24:07Speaker 8: a makeshift camp behind Froggy Bottoms where he worked as
- 24:10Speaker 8: a bar hand, and then police would discover Nick was
- 24:15Speaker 8: a convicted sex offender who had molested and beaten a
- 24:18Speaker 8: five year old girl when he was sixteen.
- 24:22Speaker 5: Ray that I don't know I know he beat her
- 24:25Speaker 5: so badly that I was told she was still in
- 24:28Speaker 5: a wheelchair.
- 24:30Speaker 8: Marshburn says Nick was also a predator when it came
- 24:34Speaker 8: to females of any age.
- 24:36Speaker 5: He was just so pervertedly interested in women. It was crazy.
- 24:41Speaker 2: He just it was like an obsession.
- 24:43Speaker 5: It was like a side coat.
- 24:45Speaker 8: Police still couldn't link Nick to Kelly's disappearance, but they
- 24:49Speaker 8: did manage to put him behind bars for a year
- 24:51Speaker 8: for failing to register as a sex offender in Fayetteville.
- 24:55Speaker 5: So while he was in jail, the only thing I
- 24:57Speaker 5: could do is go. We put areas to where Nick
- 25:02Speaker 5: had been, and I wound up working hundreds of hours
- 25:06Speaker 5: searching woods, searching ponds, searching lakes, everything.
- 25:11Speaker 8: When Marshburn fails to find any trace of Kelly's body,
- 25:14Speaker 8: he devises a plan to befriend Nick when he gets
- 25:17Speaker 8: out of jail and trick him into tell him what
- 25:19Speaker 8: he knows about Kelly's disappearance.
- 25:23Speaker 5: I had to be his best friend. I had to
- 25:25Speaker 5: be a good friend to him.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Do you befront him right away?
- 25:28Speaker 8: I do.
- 25:29Speaker 5: When he answered the door, I said, Nick, I'm David Marshburn,
- 25:32Speaker 5: I'm a PI I'd like to talk to you about Kelly.
- 25:36Speaker 5: I don't believe you've done it, he told him right
- 25:40Speaker 5: out the gate, But I believe you could help me
- 25:43Speaker 5: to clear your name so we could find her.
- 25:46Speaker 2: You had your strategy mapped out, I did.
- 25:48Speaker 5: I had it in three stages. You didn't have nothing
- 25:50Speaker 5: to do with it. You might have had to do
- 25:53Speaker 5: something with it. You did it. By the end of
- 25:56Speaker 5: that you did it stage. I was accusing him of
- 25:59Speaker 5: doing it, and he won't deny it.
- 26:01Speaker 8: Marshburn would start by literally buying nixt friendship and trust.
- 26:06Speaker 11: What did you do well?
- 26:07Speaker 5: The guy was down on his luck. He needed money,
- 26:10Speaker 5: and if I gave him money, he would keep wanting
- 26:12Speaker 5: to see me, whether I talked to him by Kelly
- 26:14Speaker 5: or not. I mean, there was some times where I
- 26:16Speaker 5: would be eating dinner with my family. He'd call and say,
- 26:19Speaker 5: I don't have anything. I need some cigarettes, I need
- 26:21Speaker 5: to eat, and I dropped what I was doing, leave
- 26:24Speaker 5: my family and go an hour away just to give
- 26:27Speaker 5: him some money.
- 26:28Speaker 8: But months would go by without a frustrated Marshburn getting
- 26:32Speaker 8: any information out of Nick about Kelly's disappearance.
- 26:36Speaker 5: I almost was to the point to take him, and
- 26:39Speaker 5: you'd ask anybody this close to me, exactly what I said.
- 26:42Speaker 5: I wanted to take him to a barn somewhere start
- 26:45Speaker 5: cutting his fingers off until he told me where the
- 26:47Speaker 5: hell she was. Now, that's how mad I was. I
- 26:50Speaker 5: was so close, But yet he wouldn't give it to me.
- 26:53Speaker 5: He's such a not to tell me what he's done
- 26:56Speaker 5: with And I had done so much for him.
- 26:58Speaker 8: But Marshburn persist trying all kinds of ploys, one of
- 27:02Speaker 8: them convincing Nick he'd worked out a deal with prosecutors
- 27:06Speaker 8: and presenting him with a fake plea bargain. He drew
- 27:10Speaker 8: up himself.
- 27:11Speaker 5: He's gonna tell he committed murder, he killed Kelly. He's
- 27:14Speaker 5: going to apologize for it. He's going to get mental
- 27:17Speaker 5: health for it. He's going to stay in like an apartment,
- 27:20Speaker 5: complace where he'll have a computer to work on.
- 27:23Speaker 2: He's believing this.
- 27:24Speaker 5: Yeah, wholeheartedly. He took it and looked at that and
- 27:28Speaker 5: stared at it and read it over and over, and
- 27:32Speaker 5: then all of a sudden he paused for a little
- 27:34Speaker 5: bit and then hand it back to him, said I'm
- 27:37Speaker 5: not gonna sign it. They'll just take it back.
- 27:40Speaker 8: But the mere fact that Nick considered the deal was
- 27:43Speaker 8: proof to Marshburn that he was responsible for Kelly's disappearance at.
- 27:48Speaker 5: That point, two months into talking to him. That gave
- 27:52Speaker 5: me the concrete evidence that now I gotta get it
- 27:55Speaker 5: out of him next.
- 27:57Speaker 8: It takes just one more sneaky trick for David Marsburn
- 28:00Speaker 8: to get Nick Holbert to confess to the murder of
- 28:03Speaker 8: Kelly Bordeaux.
- 28:05Speaker 9: Started screaming real loud, and I got to care.
- 28:11Speaker 1: For more than two years, Kelly Bordeau's family search for answers,
- 28:15Speaker 1: and they would finally get them when the private investigator
- 28:18Speaker 1: managed to get one of the key players in the
- 28:20Speaker 1: case to confess.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Here's Michelle Sagana Wiley.
- 28:24Speaker 8: Private detective David Marshburn was just one more sneaky trick
- 28:27Speaker 8: away from solving the Kelly Bordeaux mystery.
- 28:30Speaker 5: So close, but yet he wouldn't give it to me.
- 28:33Speaker 8: After befriending Nick Holbert and winning his trust, Marshburn had
- 28:38Speaker 8: already learned enough to know he'd killed the beautiful twenty
- 28:41Speaker 8: three year old gi and Marsburn had almost got Nick
- 28:46Speaker 8: to sign a phony deal that falsely promised him a
- 28:49Speaker 8: slap on the wrist for confessing.
- 28:51Speaker 5: You would get probation and rehabilitation.
- 28:54Speaker 8: But when Nick backs ount at the last minute, Marshburn
- 28:57Speaker 8: comes up with a new ruse, and it.
- 29:00Speaker 5: Was a tough one because maybe.
- 29:02Speaker 8: Is what is still he had a hunch it would work.
- 29:06Speaker 5: It was the indictment that would get him this time.
- 29:10Speaker 8: Marshburn convinces Nick he's about to be indicted for Kelly's murder.
- 29:14Speaker 5: The reason why I wanted to do an indictments because
- 29:16Speaker 5: I don't understand indictments. A lot of people don't unless
- 29:19Speaker 5: you're in the legal realm, So an indictment will be
- 29:22Speaker 5: easy to bs about and hard for him to understand them.
- 29:27Speaker 8: The crafty PI shows Nick a fake indictment he'd drawn
- 29:30Speaker 8: up himself and gets him thinking he's under police surveillance.
- 29:35Speaker 5: So I put a bondsman outside his house in a
- 29:40Speaker 5: Crown big and he sees the crown big. He's how
- 29:43Speaker 5: I told you, man, They're watching me. They're watching me.
- 29:46Speaker 8: Nick is scared this is going out.
- 29:49Speaker 5: They're coming after me. They got something.
- 29:52Speaker 8: Nick is suddenly ready to sign the earlier fake plea deal,
- 29:55Speaker 8: accepting the phony offer of a handslap sentence in return
- 30:00Speaker 8: for a confession, and he agrees to lead Marshburn to
- 30:04Speaker 8: Kelly's body buried in a wooded area near his makeshift
- 30:07Speaker 8: camp behind Froggy Bottom's bar.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Soon as we pull into Froggy Bottoms, I can't even
- 30:13Speaker 5: get the darn thing in park, and he's jumping out
- 30:16Speaker 5: and going straight back to where he killed her.
- 30:18Speaker 8: Now Marshburn is finally about to learn the answers he's
- 30:22Speaker 8: been seeking for the two years since Kelly went missing.
- 30:25Speaker 5: And I walk over there to him, and I put
- 30:28Speaker 5: my hand up on his shoulder and I said, Nick,
- 30:31Speaker 5: are you ready to tell me? You see?
- 30:33Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 30:34Speaker 5: I said, did you do something to Kelly?
- 30:36Speaker 8: He said yes, And hours later at the crime scene,
- 30:40Speaker 8: Nick would also confess to Detective Jeff locklear of the
- 30:43Speaker 8: fiat Field Police Department.
- 30:45Speaker 9: I just nat and zoned out and hit him.
- 30:48Speaker 8: And somewhere between what Nick tells Detective Lockleer and what
- 30:52Speaker 8: he'd earlier confessed to David Marshburn, there lies the truth
- 30:56Speaker 8: about what he did to Private first Class Kelly Bordeaux.
- 30:59Speaker 5: Is exact words were, while I was on top of her,
- 31:02Speaker 5: she started screaming.
- 31:03Speaker 11: There.
- 31:04Speaker 8: Nick's confession begins on that Friday night that he took
- 31:08Speaker 8: Kelly to Froggy Bottoms where he was working as a
- 31:11Speaker 8: bar head.
- 31:12Speaker 9: I mean Wayne kicked her up and went back to
- 31:15Speaker 9: the bar and I played fool drink dunk karaoke and
- 31:19Speaker 9: everything was doing good.
- 31:22Speaker 5: So as night went on, she was ready to go home.
- 31:27Speaker 5: She went to go pay her bar tab.
- 31:29Speaker 9: That's when she started acting kind of funny.
- 31:31Speaker 5: Jordan Nick went ahead and went outside and was waiting
- 31:35Speaker 5: at his car, And while she was paying her tab,
- 31:39Speaker 5: the bartender told her be careful of this guy. He's
- 31:42Speaker 5: a sex offender. And she had no idea. And when
- 31:46Speaker 5: she came out, she went down the sidewalk of the
- 31:49Speaker 5: the Froggy Bottoms. She passes Nick's car and passes him,
- 31:54Speaker 5: and she's walking home and says, hey, I thought.
- 31:58Speaker 9: I was taking you home, okay, not he child molester
- 32:01Speaker 9: her or something like that.
- 32:03Speaker 5: So he ran up behind her and hit.
- 32:05Speaker 9: Her, knocked her out, and I stuck her in the
- 32:07Speaker 9: car and took her back to where I stayed.
- 32:10Speaker 2: At what happens there?
- 32:13Speaker 5: He gets out, He pulls her out and lays her
- 32:16Speaker 5: on the ground, and he pulls her clothes off. He
- 32:19Speaker 5: goes ahead and starts having sex with her, and he's
- 32:24Speaker 5: raping her right cause he he His exact words were,
- 32:28Speaker 5: while I was on top of her, she started screaming,
- 32:33Speaker 5: and you know, I got scared.
- 32:34Speaker 9: I didn't want to know where to hear her, so
- 32:36Speaker 9: I hit her again.
- 32:37Speaker 5: And he grabbed a rock and just beat her in
- 32:40Speaker 5: the head with it. And after a few seconds, yes,
- 32:45Speaker 5: she was dead.
- 32:46Speaker 2: And then what did what did he tell you? He did?
- 32:49Speaker 5: He wrapped her head up with trash bag and then what.
- 32:54Speaker 9: And I pulled in here, I mean I went and
- 32:58Speaker 9: took her over there and buried her. Now that and
- 33:00Speaker 9: went back to the bar.
- 33:04Speaker 8: Now, remember that text Kelly's boyfriend Justin have received from
- 33:08Speaker 8: her phone on the night she disappeared, saying she had
- 33:12Speaker 8: arrived home safely well. Nick admitted that he had sent
- 33:16Speaker 8: that message and disposed of her phone after he'd already
- 33:20Speaker 8: killed her.
- 33:21Speaker 5: When Nick confessed, he told us as he was going
- 33:25Speaker 5: out of the river, he threw her phony in.
- 33:29Speaker 8: Next Kelly's family members are heartbroken and outraged over her murder.
- 33:34Speaker 10: Mister Port, could you look at me for a minute.
- 33:38Speaker 8: And one of them has vengeance in mind.
- 33:41Speaker 6: All I could think about, honestly, was just I'm gonna
- 33:43Speaker 6: stab this guy.
- 33:47Speaker 10: Now.
- 33:47Speaker 1: To the conclusion of our top story, today about a
- 33:50Speaker 1: Fort Bragg soldier who disappeared after a night of drinking
- 33:53Speaker 1: with friends. Once again, here's Michelle segot Nick.
- 33:58Speaker 8: Colbert had confessed to murder in private first class Kelly Bordeaux.
- 34:02Speaker 9: Just napped and zoned out and hit her.
- 34:05Speaker 8: And he'd led private investigator David Marshburn and his cadaver
- 34:09Speaker 8: dog to a shallow grave where Holbert had buried her body.
- 34:13Speaker 5: So we dig down. We found a little piece of
- 34:16Speaker 5: the jacket. So we're digging again when we find her,
- 34:21Speaker 5: find a leg ball. Then we dig again. There's the
- 34:26Speaker 5: whole jacket. We take the jacket and pull the whole
- 34:29Speaker 5: jacket back and there she is described with the bag
- 34:35Speaker 5: on her head, the whole nine yards. Can I say
- 34:37Speaker 5: a little press said, baby girl, you're going home, Going home,
- 34:39Speaker 5: baby girl. And she gets back and I'm starting to
- 34:45Speaker 5: tear that now.
- 34:48Speaker 8: Hulbert would be arrested and subsequently pled guilty to first
- 34:51Speaker 8: degree murder.
- 34:53Speaker 11: But p I.
- 34:54Speaker 8: Marshburn had mixed emotions about finally solving the mystery of
- 34:58Speaker 8: what happened to Kelly.
- 35:00Speaker 5: It is about like meeting somebody chat and singful.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Long time and getting to bring her home.
- 35:07Speaker 5: The family has closure.
- 35:09Speaker 2: It's extremely unfair. She was a great person.
- 35:12Speaker 8: But finally learning what happened to Kelly is a little
- 35:15Speaker 8: comfort to those who still mourn her, including her a
- 35:19Speaker 8: strange husband, Mike, and her boyfriend Justin.
- 35:23Speaker 13: She will always be in my heart and in my
- 35:25Speaker 13: mind forever, like we're still married.
- 35:33Speaker 8: And the pain and suffering Nicholas Holbert inflicted upon Kelly
- 35:37Speaker 8: and her survivors made Marshburn want to do the same
- 35:40Speaker 8: to him.
- 35:41Speaker 5: You not only killed her, but you riped her. You're
- 35:44Speaker 5: sick and you need to be put away forever.
- 35:48Speaker 12: Hey, that guy is the epitome of the devil. To me,
- 35:50Speaker 12: I literally Nicholas Holbert and the Devil are together in
- 35:54Speaker 12: my head.
- 35:55Speaker 8: But nobody was as furious as Kelly's older brother Matt Well.
- 35:58Speaker 6: I could think about, honestly, was just I'm gonna stab
- 36:01Speaker 6: this guy.
- 36:02Speaker 8: And some were worried that Matt just might do something
- 36:05Speaker 8: just like that. At Hulbert's sentencing hearing.
- 36:09Speaker 6: I had to said a few things, and then me
- 36:10Speaker 6: and the judge like kind of locked eyes, and I
- 36:12Speaker 6: think he realized I was like gonna freak out.
- 36:19Speaker 8: In fact, Matt became so enraged and vocal that a
- 36:22Speaker 8: judge ordered him to be removed from the courtroom, where
- 36:25Speaker 8: he admitted to local TV reporters.
- 36:27Speaker 6: Honestly, what I thought would happen is I would just
- 36:29Speaker 6: assault him. So was a good thing that the judge
- 36:31Speaker 6: kicked me out.
- 36:32Speaker 8: Hulbert tried to apologize to Kelly's family.
- 36:37Speaker 9: And he didn't want to hear anything I had to say.
- 36:41Speaker 2: And he was right.
- 36:43Speaker 3: When he's trying to read his apology. The whole time,
- 36:46Speaker 3: all I'm thinking is just shut.
- 36:47Speaker 6: Up, mister, Could you look at me for a minute.
- 36:52Speaker 8: And Kelly's mother, John demanded he listened to her instead.
- 36:56Speaker 12: I don't understand.
- 37:01Speaker 3: You can take a beautiful young girl for pretty much
- 37:05Speaker 3: no reason.
- 37:08Speaker 1: And meat to life on how.
- 37:10Speaker 8: Nicholas Hilbert would be sentenced to life in prison without
- 37:13Speaker 8: the possibility of paroles, all thanks to David Marshburn, the
- 37:18Speaker 8: dogged private detective who single handedly brought him to justice
- 37:22Speaker 8: and solved the Kelly Bordeaux mystery.
- 37:24Speaker 3: Not even for his own personal game. And that's the thing,
- 37:26Speaker 3: is like, he's doing it for my family and we
- 37:28Speaker 3: don't even know. Yeah, So I'm like he's doing this.
- 37:31Speaker 12: Just because he wants to be able to make that
- 37:33Speaker 12: difference it's astronomical. I mean it's more than my family
- 37:37Speaker 12: can even show gratitude for.
- 37:40Speaker 8: And the faithful police admit they could have never closed
- 37:43Speaker 8: the case without him. Are you glad Dave.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Was so persistent?
- 37:48Speaker 1: Oh?
- 37:48Speaker 4: Absolutely, he could do things that the police cannot do.
- 37:52Speaker 7: Oh I'm glad he was persistent because it brings closure.
- 37:55Speaker 4: To the Buldo family.
- 37:58Speaker 8: Marshburn admits there were times he almost gave up.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Every day. I was exhausted having to go search for
- 38:04Speaker 5: this girl. I was muddy, I was cut, I got sick.
- 38:08Speaker 5: I was just fed up with it. I was tired
- 38:10Speaker 5: of his game.
- 38:11Speaker 8: But he says he felt morally bound to keep going
- 38:14Speaker 8: for the sake of Kelly and her family, and solid
- 38:17Speaker 8: is donating his time, skill and money to a worthy cause.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Is it's your way of giving back.
- 38:24Speaker 5: That's the only way I get back. That's the only
- 38:26Speaker 5: way I feel like it gets back to God's children,
- 38:30Speaker 5: people that need it.
- 38:32Speaker 8: And the reward is seeing Nicholas Holbert behind bars.
- 38:37Speaker 5: Kind of fits. And yeah, like an animal, you trade
- 38:41Speaker 5: a lot more. He deserves it.
