- 0:00SPEAKER_00: You the adventurer.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, you.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Do you desire knowledge of immense worlds and arcane power?
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: A codex of untold stories and lore?
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Or perhaps simply easy listening for your daily commute?
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And feast your eyes.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Or more accurately, yes, upon Dungeon Pedia.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Shit's about to get nerdy in here.
- 0:47SPEAKER_04: And I'm Travis Beasley.
- 0:48SPEAKER_04: So, um, I I feel like we've complained about something similar to this before.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Maybe about a full year ago.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: Um, living in Oklahoma has upsides.
- 1:00SPEAKER_04: I don't know what they are.
- 1:01SPEAKER_04: I'm sure they exist.
- 1:02SPEAKER_04: But uh, we have crazy weather here, as I'm sure you guys have heard us complain.
- 1:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like I feel like that's the meme thing for people from Oklahoma to talk about is our weather.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Um and our defense, we get tornadoes, so like we win.
- 1:18SPEAKER_04: We get everything.
- 1:19SPEAKER_03: Like tornadoes, earthquakes.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: The only thing we don't get is hurricanes.
- 1:23SPEAKER_04: Thank God.
- 1:24SPEAKER_04: We just get runoff from hurricanes.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:26SPEAKER_03: Which is still We had one hell of a storm come through the other night, though.
- 1:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: And uh somebody lost power for over 12 hours.
- 1:37SPEAKER_04: Yes, who that person was.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: And like, don't get me wrong, I feel like our situations are bad for different reasons because like you lost power for 12 hours and all that, but uh you were at work for a lot of that.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: I lost power for four hours and I'm stuck in the house the whole time.
- 1:55SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 1:56SPEAKER_04: Oh, I'm I'm glad that we didn't lose power while I was at work because it's never that's never fun.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I I like Travis just glared at Lewin.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: I don't wanna I I don't even want to hear it.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: You want do you want do you want to talk about it?
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: Uh I I no.
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: That would just go on way too long.
- 2:15SPEAKER_04: Let's just say hi, welcome welcome to our episode where Travis complains about losing power at work.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: Let's just say that when power outages happen at work, it fucking sucks.
- 2:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we don't we don't get them as often where I work.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: And plus in in my department, it's a little bit of a I feel like it impacts us pretty differently.
- 2:34SPEAKER_04: But still, it was annoying and it it derolled my plans for the day, and I was annoyed.
- 2:41SPEAKER_04: So I'm sorry.
- 2:42SPEAKER_04: It's okay.
- 2:44SPEAKER_04: But at least it cooled the heat down a little bit.
- 2:46SPEAKER_04: It got really hot in my house.
- 2:49SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 2:49SPEAKER_04: It's okay, which I mean like I'm a I'm a summer I'm a summer baby, I love the heat, but not well, for one, my dog doesn't, and also like not when I'm trying to sleep.
- 3:01SPEAKER_04: Fair.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: So uh, you know.
- 3:06SPEAKER_04: It it was it was hot, I was annoyed, and I felt like I was in hell.
- 3:12SPEAKER_04: It it sounds like hell, which actually is relevant, I think.
- 3:17SPEAKER_04: My experience this week is relevant to what we're gonna be talking about today, right?
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Uh well, I mean, I I have uh teased the fact that we are continuing on the infernal uh arc, but we're not in hell anymore.
- 3:30SPEAKER_04: Oh right.
- 3:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're in the the abyss now.
- 3:33SPEAKER_04: We're moving into the abyss.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: We went further, right?
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: The abysses under hell.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: So like beyond hell?
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: It depends on which cosmology you go with, because nothing in Dungeons and Dragons is ever simple.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Um, so my personal favorite, the Great Wheel, they're on the same spoke, basically.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: So they're just they're two halves of the same coin.
- 4:00SPEAKER_04: But if if one were to follow the Great Tree cosmology, for example, it might be in a different place.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Yes, and I will actually tell you where it is on the great tree.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, great, cool.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Um, so this is the home of chaos, an ugly, violent place where the strong rule on the backs of the weak, and it's the birthplace of demons.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: We are in the chaotic evil home plane.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:25SPEAKER_04: Demons.
- 4:26SPEAKER_04: Okay, you said we're the the strong reign over the week, and literally, like, with the exception of the word chaos being in there, I was like, okay, it sounds like the nine owls.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Fair.
- 4:37SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, it is all evil, but yeah.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Well, okay, so it's kind of different, like, yes.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: I mean it's a strong rule over the week.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: I'm sure we'll get into it.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: So it has an unknown, seemingly infinite amount of layers, though some have suggested there are 666 layers for obvious reasons.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: That's yeah, that seems like a pretty obvious suggestion.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Um each layer is claimed by a different power, or sometimes no power, or sometimes it's fought over.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: But it's difficult to know for sure how many layers there are.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: It may well actually be infinite.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Um, each ruler had power not through loyalty or swearing fealty or like rank and obedience, like the devils did.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Um, certainly not through laws or anything like that.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: How scandalous.
- 5:25SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Can't you imagine?
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Simply through subjugating the people weaker than them.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, that's pretty much how it yeah.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: It literally is based kind of on power in its purest definition.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Not like rank achieves you power, it's power begets power.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: I am stronger than you, I win.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: So uh they might makes right, if you will.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: That is pretty much how they feel.
- 5:54SPEAKER_04: I mean, I would say that, but for some reason I feel like they're not particularly even concerned with what's right.
- 5:59SPEAKER_04: It's just probably not, you know, what I what I want.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: Pretty much, yeah.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: But what they want is right for them.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: So uh the demons can the demon powers that be commanded sizable armies of other demons who followed simply because they were after their own smaller prizes that they felt could be accomplished this way.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: Well, that's good.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: They set reasonable goals for themselves.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: That's admirable.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, for some that prize could be as simple as surviving.
- 6:26SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 6:27SPEAKER_04: Well, you know what?
- 6:28SPEAKER_04: That's in a place like that, yeah.
- 6:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's uh that's a reasonable goal.
- 6:31SPEAKER_04: That's my goal every day.
- 6:34SPEAKER_04: Let's not talk about that.
- 6:36SPEAKER_04: See, that was supposed to be funny, and then I was like, wait.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: A little too topical.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Um, so there are three main types of demons.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: And each of those types have different subtypes, and blah blah blah blah blah.
- 6:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, so it's one of those times.
- 6:53SPEAKER_04: It sounded like it was gonna be simple, like simpler than like maybe the archons and the uh the devils.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Uh this is gonna be another two-parter.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, yay! So the three main types of demons are the Oberith, the Tanari, and the Lumara.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna give a brief overthrough overview of the three before we just jump right in.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: I don't know how much I'm actually going to be able to cover in this episode before we run out of time.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: But that said, I don't want you guys, like if you have questions or want to comment, don't hold back because, like I said, I'm comfortable with this extending on into two episodes.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: Gotcha.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: So the Lumara are the youngest of the three.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: They're incorporeal, incorporeal demons who are capable of possessing objects and creatures to achieve the demons' most base desires.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: Okay, so they really are just like a very base, like functionality level demon.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Uh they were created by accident and exist purely for their own chaotic evil natures.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 7:57SPEAKER_04: With it.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: A lot of horror movies about those guys.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Exactly, yeah.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: And uh that we will touch on a little bit more before the end.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Um from there we have the Tanari.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: The Tanari were created to be slaves of the Oberiths, though they eventually revolted and killed most of the Oberiths.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Uh the Tanari are your classic demons created from Mortal Sin, Cruelty and Evil, blah blah blah.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Mortal Sin, you know.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Um Lolf is a Tanare.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Uh okay.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: I I I get the the idea.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Basically, the majority of demons are Tanari.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that's like your garden variety.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're for lack of a better.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Most were humanoid-shaped, and their most numerous of demons, they were also the most well-known of demon lords as well.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 8:48SPEAKER_03: I I have seen Tanari mentioned countless times.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: So.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: So their former masters, the Oberiths, were the oldest type.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: They were so ancient, they supposedly, or well, they did predate more mortal life, and supposedly even the gods.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: They're not humanoid usually, and looking upon their true form could drive mortals mad.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Uh, there's this one legend that says that Oberiths and the original Betorian devils, like the ones that got wiped out by the Beatsisu, are the descendants of an even older infernal race called the Barnoloths.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: But very few people believe this, and it's almost blasphemous to state it in either company.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: I I find that to be pretty compelling, actually.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:35SPEAKER_04: That idea that they're descended from what was it?
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: The Baronoloths, which Baroneloth.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: We will discuss when we get to the neutral evil.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: Oh wow, yeah.
- 9:47SPEAKER_04: I just Googled Oberith.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: These guys are crazy looking.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Um, so what in the how?
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: They were first mentioned in third edition, although like previous demons were retcon to be Oberith, so they existed in like first and second edition.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: But they just were what they were instead of.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: And their history was true truly expanded upon in later Dragon Magazine demonet oh man, I practice saying this word, demonomicon articles, and in fourth edition's like compiled demonomicon.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: See, I thought you were trying to say like demonetized, and I was like, they demonetized them?
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: They demonetize the overall.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, look at this.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: This is not family friends.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, what the fuck?
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Uh I would hold off uh for followers uh for the listeners at home from Googling it until I get to the end, so you can uh Google like precisely everything, but that's fine.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: Sorry, I spoiled I'm gonna go.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: No, you're good, you're good.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: That thing is haunting.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Um just remember, they are horrible.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Nasty.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Um so nasty.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: There are some differences in between origins about what came from what.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: And with literally everything, but for the most part, the core remains the same.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: The Oberths were an ancient powerful race, blah blah blah blah blah.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: So in the abyss before more mortal and immortal life lived the Oberinths.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: In third edition, it says that they were the first life churned up by the primordial abyss, but in fourth edition it says that they came before the abyss.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:28SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna believe third edition because fuck fourth edition.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: I know I'm going to talk about it in depth.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Um just because the third edition part is so like quick and to the point, they were I mean, I just described it for you.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: They were the first life created by the Abyss.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: And it's third edition, so that's the correct one.
- 11:50SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 11:51SPEAKER_04: Fourth edition, I go into it more than more than just like leaving it a they predate the abyss, and you have to be left to wonder what that means.
- 11:59SPEAKER_04: They actually talk about it.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: Which is shocking considering everything else that they've done with fourth edition.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: I mean I would say started early this time.
- 12:07SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: You're good.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: You're good.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: I it it it doesn't help that they were introduced in third edition, so.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: Fair, fair.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: So they had a realm before that they drained to lifelessness in their unending hunger.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: You know, like demons do.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: Naturally.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Uh the Oberinths used a shard of pure evil to puncture the walls between this ancient home and a neighboring realm.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: Uh they hoped to corrupt something powerful on the other side, to bend and enslave the creatures discovered there, and to reshape either their home or their people into basically the Oberinth's vile imaginings.
- 12:46SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: With it.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: So eons passed before the Oberinths were actually able to enact their plan.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: They were dying in this time.
- 12:54SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 12:55SPEAKER_04: Because they'd already completely drained their homeland.
- 12:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: So a god on this other realm found the shard and was immediately infected by the dying Oberinths.
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: They corrupted him and drove him mad immediately.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: They did what?
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Did it say which god this was?
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Yes, I will uh Oh, okay, okay.
- 13:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, that'll become relevant later.
- 13:17SPEAKER_04: It's not just some random god.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Uh they demand them they demanded he take the shard and plant it as a sort of seed of evil within the astral sea.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Uh this god is called Thereas Dune.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: And he knew his fellow gods would kill him for this.
- 13:35SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: And instead, he traveled to the far reaches of the cosmos, the primordial expanse of the elemental chaos.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: And this is where it fits into the uh the tree cosmology.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: Hmm.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: So this is where the abyss sits in the great tree.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: I mean, I guess at that point he was already mad and corrupted, so the Elemental Chaos.
- 13:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the elemental chaos wasn't really gonna affect him too much.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: Pretty much.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: And this is where he ended up throwing the shard.
- 14:04SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: And so it created this great vortex, and the Oberiths were pulled through this vortex of black flame into the new home that was created.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: The abyss.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: And it consumed their old home complet and destroyed it completely.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: You know, I I will admit it is very simple and to the point, the idea of them being created from the abyss and being the first things created from the abyss.
- 14:30SPEAKER_04: But I actually kind of like that story.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: It's a good story.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: Um, and then it resolves in a very interesting manner uh that sets a precedent for basically the demons for all of eternity.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Um the Oberth and Tharazidun, Tharaz Dune, uh, in a grand hatred, fought each other for many eons, but they were each unable to get the upper hand, and in order to avoid destruction, they both eventually kind of just entered a stalemate.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, it sounded like it was a stalemate the entire time, but pretty much eventually they just like looked at it and was like, okay, this isn't working.
- 15:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they just like put it down on paper that they that it was.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: Like, all right, we're done.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Uh but the Oberus got their abyss.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: That's all they really wanted.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: They they got a new home that wasn't drained of all of its energies and allowed them to actually continue to live.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: So this is again where third and fourth edition differ.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: But I will be jumping back to third edition because it's just more in-depth and honestly has more lore about it.
- 15:31SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 15:32SPEAKER_04: What a surprise.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Lewin gives fourth edition one single compliment and then just utterly destroys it.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: Hey, and they're allowed one per episode.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Fair enough.
- 15:44SPEAKER_03: You can't used it up really early.
- 15:46SPEAKER_04: You may you may compliment it once.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: So the first Obereth to emerge from the primal matter of chaos and evil, Obox Ob was the most powerful.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: He had been titled the Prince of Demons.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: And despite Demons not exactly being a serving sort of race, few would reject him because of his great power.
- 16:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: The Queen of Chaos, however, would not bow.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, I remember her.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: Uh the exact order of circumstances is debated, but the Queen of Chaos brazenly marched upon Obak's Ob and struck him down.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: He did not even have a chance to retaliate.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Uh damn.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: Despite being made up of multiple aspects, only one of them survived and sunk to the depths of the abyss.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: But it was barely powerful enough to survive, much less strike back.
- 16:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: So just remember, he's actually still alive, but he's not juice.
- 16:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's not in any shape to do.
- 16:50SPEAKER_04: If I remember correctly, the Queen of Chaos was she was um, I talked about her in the Air Coker episode.
- 16:57SPEAKER_04: She struck down, or she was going after the Windukes of Aqua.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm actually gonna talk about that in a bit.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 17:05SPEAKER_03: I was trying to remember where I remembered.
- 17:08SPEAKER_03: At this point, I feel like we should ask our listeners to have a like tally on how many times Taylor says, I'm gonna talk about that here in a little bit.
- 17:18SPEAKER_04: Look! I mean, that's not gonna ask you to do that.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: You that's a hit at Leon too.
- 17:24SPEAKER_04: Take take a shot.
- 17:26SPEAKER_04: Take a shot every time one of us says that, and then go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: And this is one of those times where like typically I would just jump ahead a little bit and be like, Yeah, it happened this, but it it it's pretty important to the narrative process.
- 17:39SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: Uh I'll I'll stop asking questions.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no, it's fine.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Um, so the rest of the demons fell in behind her as the new the mightiest of them.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: The new head bitch.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: In her victory, the queen of chaos found the mort that mortal life had begun on the material plane, and the first of twisted souls appeared in the abyss.
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: The queen cultivated this evil, and as it grew, they transformed into a new breed of demon, the Tanari.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: Okay, alright.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: So grew them like plants.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Well, because they're larvae, more like bugs.
- 18:18SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 18:18SPEAKER_04: I mean I like the I like the plant comparison.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: You just you put a human, you know.
- 18:24SPEAKER_04: A little human sapling in some soil.
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, put a put it on your windowsill, water, water when dry, you know?
- 18:32SPEAKER_04: And then you have a demon.
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: Yay!
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: That's how you grow a demon.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: So the very first of the Tonarin was twisted, deformed, with boneless arms, twin snapping baboon heads, reptilian legs, and a twisted fork tail.
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: See, that went the that went in a different direction from what I was thinking immediately with the baboon heads.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: The boneless arm thing.
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: See, I was with that, because I was like, maybe this is just gonna be a weird little gumby looking person.
- 19:01SPEAKER_04: Or, you know, but then like the baboon heads.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: He was a monster, uncontrollable, and created from the primal fears of the wicked mortal souls.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: Disgusted, the queen tossed him aside and tried again.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: Listen, often the first try is not as good.
- 19:22SPEAKER_03: So Yeah, that's true.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: Um imagine, imagine being such a way that the queen of chaos, the head bitch of the chaotic evil people, looks at you and is like, ugh.
- 19:35SPEAKER_04: I don't know about that.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Imagine.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: So uh her next attempts were much more successful.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Uh she appreciated them much more.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: Uh, she created Succubi from Mortal Lust, Glabrazu from Envy, Alkaliths from Sloth, and so on and so forth.
- 19:54unknown: Wow.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Uh she created the Tanari and adjusted and shaped them to fit her will.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: The Obereths use most of these as slaves, but one that she created, the most powerful, she took as her consort.
- 20:08SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 20:09SPEAKER_03: Does it have a name?
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: Miska the wolf spider.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: Oh that guy.
- 20:14SPEAKER_03: Miska the wolf spider.
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: Was he an embodiment of a particular deadly sin?
- 20:21SPEAKER_04: Uh, it did not say when I Because I I got when you said succubi, I got that that was where it was going.
- 20:28SPEAKER_04: That's why I made that noise, because I was proud of myself for recognizing patterns.
- 20:32SPEAKER_04: Um but I that makes me wonder if he maybe is is an encapsulation of some kind of deadly sin.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: So not that it's stated in anything that I read, but I mean that's kind of the whole like like I mean, you did stumble upon the the pattern.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: It's kind of implied that most of the Tanari are corrupted in some way by some sort of sin.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 20:59SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: Or come from the mortal corruption of that sin.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Anyway, um, so Miska the Wolf Spider was crowned the new Prince of Demons after Abokzab lost that title.
- 21:12SPEAKER_05: He's somewhere.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Together, he and the Queen of Chaos began their march on the rest of the outer plains to seize all the realms for herself.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: She, however, did not have the impeccable timing that she'd had against Abok Zob.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: She was opposed by the Vati.
- 21:28SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 21:29SPEAKER_04: The yeah.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're, and Lewin mentioned this, a race of air elementals devoted to law, who were also called the Windukes of Aka.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Or Aka.
- 21:38SPEAKER_04: I mean, there's a Q in there, but it's like if you say it Aqua, that just sounds like water.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we had this exact conversation.
- 21:46SPEAKER_04: A A Q A is how it's spelled.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: A Q A, yeah.
- 21:48SPEAKER_04: I've just been saying it kind of like a a bridge between the hard C and the Q.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: AKA it sounds bad.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: Okay, well, don't just Google that word by itself because Apparently, that is a song by a band called Abdullah Parvine.
- 22:04unknown: Oh.
- 22:06SPEAKER_04: Shoutouts to them.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: I guess to Abid and Parvi.
- 22:09SPEAKER_04: And their song Ahka.
- 22:11SPEAKER_04: Anyway.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: Anyway, uh Vati.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Despite heavy losses by the Vati, they created a rod of pure lawfulness and used it to defeat the queen.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they did.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: By freezing time itself around Miska.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: Freezing him and imprisoning him on pandemonium.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 22:29SPEAKER_04: Rip.
- 22:30SPEAKER_04: Rip.
- 22:31SPEAKER_04: Because that's a they didn't exactly go into the the function of the rod in the story that I read about the Aracra.
- 22:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: After that, the rod broke.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and so that's like the Aracokra's MO now is to go find the pieces of that rod.
- 22:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:45SPEAKER_04: Which it broke into seven pieces, which is fun.
- 22:48SPEAKER_04: It's the seven.
- 22:49SPEAKER_04: Versus the demons.
- 22:51SPEAKER_04: You know, whole holy numbers.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Uh so the Queen of Chaos retreated to the 14th layer of the abyss where she still remains.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: Um, there she's plotting, basically.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, gotcha.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: Plotting a return.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: Yes, and how to free her lover from pandemonium.
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: In his little time stasis bubble.
- 23:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:12SPEAKER_04: Rip.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: So thrown into disarray, the Oberith Alliance fractured.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: The Elodrin set upon the Abyss in retaliation for the Queen's, you know, march across the cosmos.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: And taking advantage of all this chaos, the Tonari revolted.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Hey Jesus.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: Now the Elodrin are here too.
- 23:36SPEAKER_03: She had a bad luck day.
- 23:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's a no-good, terrible, very bad day.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: The Oberith were hunted to near extinction, reduced to the far corners of the abyss.
- 23:47SPEAKER_05: Huh.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Today there are twelve known living Oberith.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: There are probably more.
- 23:52SPEAKER_03: But twelve.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: Those are the known entities.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 23:56SPEAKER_03: And I mean, I guess they don't, because of how old they are, they can't create themselves.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: Like they can't create new.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: Any new demons have been Tonari or uh Lum Lumara.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: I can't remember if that's how it's pronounced now.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: It just there's a lot of Lumara.
- 24:18SPEAKER_04: I really hope that they can't create new ones of them, mostly because I really hope that they don't fuck.
- 24:24SPEAKER_04: Because I don't want to think about them those things fucking.
- 24:28SPEAKER_03: Because they are my thought wasn't that necessarily, but was more the fact that they're old enough that maybe they can just warp the energies themselves.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, old things.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: But see, no, I thought about that first, but I sidelined it into making myself think about one of those things fucking.
- 24:47SPEAKER_04: So if I had to think about that, you guys do too.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: Thanks.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Well they don't procrastinate.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: So in I hope not.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: So I I will get back to the Oberith and more about them, but first I want to talk about the power vacuum that was left.
- 25:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:02SPEAKER_04: A big one.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: So the Tanari fought each other hard for the title of Prince of Demons.
- 25:08SPEAKER_04: Man, that kind of sucks, though.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: Because they like revolted against their like terrible overlords and then immediately like I know they're demons, and then like immediately turned on each other.
- 25:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:17SPEAKER_04: That kind of sucks.
- 25:19SPEAKER_04: Anyway, that's all I had to say.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: No, you're you're you're you're right.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: Um, so everyone believed either Orcus or Graz Grazzi Graz.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: I mean Grazd.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: Uh two incredibly powerful Tanare uh would win.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Uh they needed only to best each other to claim their prize.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: But stumbling out of the forgotten depths, the first malformed accident came upon the scene.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: He slaughtered dozens of the most powerful Tanari in mere moments, and even Orcus and Graz Graz knelt before their new Prince of Demons, Dimogorgon.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Oh! Oh!
- 26:06SPEAKER_04: What that okay didn't oh that had several twists and turns because I was expecting it to be what's his nuts, um, Ab.
- 26:16SPEAKER_04: Abox Ob?
- 26:17SPEAKER_04: Abox Ob, thank you.
- 26:19SPEAKER_04: That guy coming again, and then I was like, oh no, it was the baboon fucker.
- 26:23SPEAKER_04: And then that's the demogorgon.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: Ah.
- 26:27SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: Didn't see that coming at all.
- 26:30SPEAKER_04: Did not either.
- 26:30SPEAKER_03: Completely caught me by surprise on that one.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: I don't think I knew that the demogorgon was a demon.
- 26:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:36SPEAKER_04: Either.
- 26:37SPEAKER_04: Or rather, it's not the demogorgon.
- 26:39SPEAKER_04: His name is Demogorgon.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, his name is Demogorgon.
- 26:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:42SPEAKER_04: Huh.
- 26:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, okay.
- 26:43SPEAKER_04: Good job on that one.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: That was uh really good.
- 26:47SPEAKER_04: I was I was blindsided.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: Um good, you know what?
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: Good for him.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Good for him.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: Um, and we're gonna keep talking about the Oberth, but first.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: Oh god.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: We're gonna take a quick break.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: Ah Hey everybody, thank you so much for listening to our first episode on Demons.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: This keeps happening.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: Look, demons are complicated and life is hard.

- 28:01SPEAKER_01: Crunch.

- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Tell your friends, tell your family.
- 29:54SPEAKER_04: Maybe don't tell your family about the demon episode.
- 29:57SPEAKER_04: I mean, it depends on the family.
- 29:58SPEAKER_04: Yes, it depends if your family's cool or not.
- 30:00SPEAKER_04: I'm sure you can judge that.
- 30:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, use your best judgment on how your family feels about demons.
- 30:05SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 30:06SPEAKER_03: Uh thank you to Alexander Nakarada for our lovely theme song Blacksmith.
- 30:11SPEAKER_04: And I think with that, we can look back into the abyss and see if it looks back.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, it will.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: Hmm.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: That's frightening.
- 30:22SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 30:24SPEAKER_04: People can look up pictures of Demogorga now that we've we've we've specifically Yeah.
- 30:29SPEAKER_04: You would encourage people to do that now?
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, yeah.
- 30:32SPEAKER_03: You might want to specify for DD though, because otherwise you will get the one from Stranger Things, which also looks crazy.
- 30:39SPEAKER_04: It looks crazy, it's just not this one.
- 30:42SPEAKER_04: It's just not this particular brand of crazy.
- 30:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:45SPEAKER_04: Because good lord, he looks crazy.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: And now you can see why his uh dear mother cast him aside, and now you can see why she probably regrets that decision.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I have a feeling she's gonna regret that very quickly.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Uh so as the Oberith were hunted and killed.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: So she's still alive.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 31:06SPEAKER_03: She's just hiding on the 14th level of the abyss.
- 31:09SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 31:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:10SPEAKER_04: Okay, so she's still she's still there, even m bearing in mind the Tanari uprising.
- 31:15SPEAKER_04: Okay, gotcha.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: So several of the Oberith were actually allowed to retain their domains in the abyss, either because they held a layer so remote and otherwise uninhabitable, or because they served a useful purpose to the Tanari.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: She kind of falls in line with a lot of different things, but for the most part, they just leave her alone.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: So the Oberith are still incredibly rare, and some hid even among demons, just to avoid being slaughtered.
- 31:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:46SPEAKER_03: I can't really blame them.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: Me neither.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: If they were capable of it though.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:51SPEAKER_03: If not, then you better run.
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: So although demons in general are kind of a unique individuals rather than a grouped by hierarchy and class sort of race, they do have a few different types.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: So the Oberth types are the Droud Drownu, uh, which is spelled D-R-A-U-D-N-U.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: And they are these round demons with long spider legs and a single red eye at the bottom of their body, which is surrounded by three claw arms.
- 32:25SPEAKER_04: That's that sounds very useful for seeing.
- 32:29SPEAKER_03: Perfectly good for seeing.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: And is it would it be like Drodnun?
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: Drodnun, thank you.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that sounds correct.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: That sounds a little better.
- 32:38SPEAKER_03: That sounds horrifying, though.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: Uh then there is the Echolid, which are these insectoid demons that resemble a giant-winged ant with a green egg sack and a head with like multiple skulls and jaws bound together.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: And they have this giant scorpion-like sting stinger, and the echolid is spelled E-K-O-L-I-D.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna regret looking this up.
- 33:08SPEAKER_04: Someone uh made a one of the first things.
- 33:12SPEAKER_04: Um you you don't love to see it.
- 33:20SPEAKER_04: There's so much going on.
- 33:21SPEAKER_04: There's so much going on in these images.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, so next we have the Golothama, which is spelled G-O-L-O-T-H-O-M-A, and they are these long serpentine, wormy demons with a single yellow snake eye surrounded by claws.
- 33:44SPEAKER_03: That actually doesn't look horrifying as engrossed, just a horrifying creature that would not want to encounter.
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: You would not want to encounter.
- 33:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Well, even worse so, uh, they do not have a mouth.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: What they have is this misshapen shadow that does not match its body, which is actually part of itself that it feeds through.
- 34:04SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, that's so cool.
- 34:05SPEAKER_04: Holy sh Oh my god, that's so cool.
- 34:08SPEAKER_04: These are truly the Eldritch terrors.
- 34:11SPEAKER_03: My god.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: But yeah, the the worst part is that I like I looked at that and I was like, that's alright.
- 34:17SPEAKER_04: Like in comparison to the last two.
- 34:18SPEAKER_04: I looked at that and I was like, that's okay.
- 34:20SPEAKER_04: That's that's pretty normal.
- 34:22SPEAKER_04: That's fine.
- 34:22SPEAKER_04: That's just like normal bad.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: So next we have the Lagathi.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: Um, excuse the weird pronunciation, I don't know why that happened.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: Lagathi, um, which is spelled L-A-G-H A-T-H-I-T-I.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: And they are these black, black octopus demons that live in the river sticks and steal memories from souls.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, pretty straightforward.
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: Huh.
- 34:50SPEAKER_03: And I mean, not a whole lot of uh for them.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: A lot of these are mentioned in passing, and they may not even have I know of one that I genuinely could not find art for.
- 35:01SPEAKER_04: Huh.
- 35:02SPEAKER_01: So next we had the Sibrix, which Lewin saw a picture of earlier.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: It's spelled S-I-B-R-I-E-X, and there are these horrible, grotesque, floating humanoid-esque heads that have like skin, like just sloughing off of them.
- 35:21SPEAKER_04: Just just gross, fleshy, like just gross, fleshy.
- 35:25SPEAKER_04: You look at it and you're like, what even is that?
- 35:27SPEAKER_04: Well coming off of you there, bud.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: They were known for skin crafting and shaped much of the tonnerie after their initial creation.
- 35:35SPEAKER_03: But also, if you zoom in, look at that face.
- 35:39unknown: Look at that.
- 35:40SPEAKER_04: Why does he have another he has another mouth right there?
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: What is what is that?
- 35:44SPEAKER_04: Also, skin crafting.
- 35:46SPEAKER_04: Hi, what are you?
- 35:47SPEAKER_04: I'm a skin crafter.
- 35:48SPEAKER_04: God.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: That's why he has that extra mouth.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: Uh what what's lens crafter's motto?
- 35:54SPEAKER_04: Because I'm about to ruin it.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: Oh, um, um, um, not sponsored.
- 35:58SPEAKER_04: Um, um Especially not now.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: You're gonna no no, that's men's warehouse.
- 36:03SPEAKER_03: Um now we're all just frantically looking this up.
- 36:10SPEAKER_04: See what you love, love what you see.
- 36:13SPEAKER_04: See what you hate, hate what you see.
- 36:16SPEAKER_04: Skin crafters.
- 36:17SPEAKER_03: Skincrafters.
- 36:19SPEAKER_04: Uh hey, lens crafters, call us.
- 36:22SPEAKER_04: I'm sure we can work something out.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: No, not anymore.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: Uh next we have the uzolru.
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I a lot of these I struggle through.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Don't make fun of me.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: Which is U-Z-O-L-L-R-U.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: And there's these giant aquatic centipedes with flippers instead of legs.
- 36:44SPEAKER_04: Oh, I bet you you love it Okay, why'd we have to bring it up?
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: I have a small, small phobia of centipedes.
- 36:53SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't say it's small.
- 36:55SPEAKER_04: They look more like not to they look kind of like millipedes to me.
- 36:59SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry, can you spell it again?
- 37:01SPEAKER_03: Because I clearly don't know how to spell.
- 37:03SPEAKER_04: U-Z-O-L-L-R-U.
- 37:06SPEAKER_04: Also, how I love when Google tries to tell me like, did you mean, and then they try to auto-correct it to a real word, and it's like, no, I want to- They want a nerd thing.
- 37:16SPEAKER_04: I wanted the D D monster.
- 37:18SPEAKER_04: But yeah, Taylor, not to be all like.
- 37:20SPEAKER_04: Uh.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: But it it looks more like a millipede to me.
- 37:23SPEAKER_04: Like, I think it has a more like rounded top, I guess.
- 37:27SPEAKER_04: And the legs are set more like millipede legs.
- 37:29SPEAKER_04: I'm not saying that this shouldn't bother you as a person who hates centipede.
- 37:34SPEAKER_04: I'm just trying to describe it for the people at home.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: Or better yet, in the car, where they can't Google.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's true.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: Or shouldn't be Googling if you're not the passenger.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: Hey, if you're driving and you're on your phone, stop it.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: Stop it.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: Your life is more important than that.
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: Um, so next we have the Virachia, which is a fun, just fun word to say.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Veracia.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: It sounds fun.
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: Um, it is fun.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: Uh V-E-R-A-K-I-A.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: And they are dragon-like demons with long spiked tails, vaguely humanoid, two-fingered arms, and four eyes, three horns, and a fiery mouth.
- 38:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's just a that's just a dragon.
- 38:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's just a dragon.
- 38:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's a demon dragon, and I love it, and I want one.
- 38:21SPEAKER_03: You want one?
- 38:22SPEAKER_03: I want one.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Alright, and finally, we have I would say probably my favorite, and I don't know why, I just love something about it.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: It's called a wasstrolith, and it's spelled W-A-S-T-R-I-L-I-T-H-S.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: They're also called Waterlords.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: And they resemble this sort of cross between Yuan T and segmented eels.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: And they have these bulging eyes and mouths with like needle-like fangs.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: They they look like a yuan, they literally look like an eel yuan tea.
- 38:58SPEAKER_03: They're kind of like um the Naga from like World of Warcraft.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:04SPEAKER_04: They remind me of the warper from Subnautica, also.
- 39:07SPEAKER_04: It might just be because this one's purple.
- 39:09SPEAKER_03: But um, I can't shape.
- 39:11SPEAKER_03: I can see why that's your favorite, though.
- 39:13SPEAKER_03: Um just the like detail of like how they put the body and like designed everything together.
- 39:20SPEAKER_03: It's I mean, I really like it.
- 39:23SPEAKER_04: I mean, my favorite's probably the Virachia, because I mean like a me, but these guys are pretty, pretty fucking cool.
- 39:29SPEAKER_04: Also, the Waterlord, I think, is a cool is a cool other thing to be called.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: But that is the Oprah types.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: And there's not a lot of examples of these anymore because most of them are dead.
- 39:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:45SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: Um, so from there, the natural discussion would be to talk about the Tanari, but that's probably going to be the bulk of the next episode.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: And due to time constraints, we're going to move on to discussing the Lumara.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: That makes sense.
- 40:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, that makes perfect sense.
- 40:01SPEAKER_04: Since the Tonari are the most numerous of the demons.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: So the Lumara, as previously mentioned, were created by accident.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: Recently in Abyssal Time, uh, by the Prince of Demons himself, Demogorgon.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: Beautiful.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: Uh, you see, he was adept at creating Death Knights, as he had done with Saint Cargoth the Betrayer.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, that guy.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: Creating Etons and demonic constructs.
- 40:26SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that he created Etons until I did this research.
- 40:30SPEAKER_03: You know, that's not that either.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: That make that makes a lot of sense.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: Um actually.
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: But his most impressive of creations, even he did not see coming.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: So Dimigorgon had a desire to destroy an annoying but long forgotten demon lord named Azuvide Ah, come on, I spelled it out for myself.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: Azuvidexus.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 40:50SPEAKER_03: Azuvidexus.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: Azuvidexus.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: Uh he lived on a jungle lair that Dimogorgon could not fight him on.
- 40:57SPEAKER_01: Like he would get there and he just like it just he'd have to retreat.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: But he's a monkey.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: He should be good in the jungle.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: He's a monkey.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: I think it was more that the lair didn't want him to kill his master.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: That's fair.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: Um, so Dimogorgon decided, I'm gonna stop trying this approach.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: Instead of trying to kill this guy, I'm gonna help him make a cult.
- 41:21SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 41:22SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 41:22SPEAKER_04: Interesting s like second choice of things to do.
- 41:26SPEAKER_04: I mean, if you can't beat him, join him, I guess.
- 41:28SPEAKER_04: So In a cult.
- 41:29SPEAKER_03: I bet you it's a plot to use the cult to overthrow him.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, you're right, but this cult of Azuvidexus happened to expand into sacred territory of an overzealous and protective pantheon of deities.
- 41:48SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 41:48SPEAKER_01: And the cults killed their high priests.
- 41:51SPEAKER_04: Great.
- 41:52SPEAKER_04: Also, is Aduva Azuvide.
- 41:55SPEAKER_04: A Zuvidexus.
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: Is he a um Virachia?
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: I don't know because it was difficult to find any mention.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: Okay, because other than the fact that he existed.
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: Okay, gotcha.
- 42:05SPEAKER_04: Because I looked him up and his um the one of the first um image results was a Virachia.
- 42:14SPEAKER_04: So I was I thought he might be.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: And he might be, but I couldn't personally find anything.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: I kind of shoved it to the side.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: Um, so after this cult of Azuviodexus killed their high priests, this pantheon immediately went on the dis defen well, really the offensive and descended into the abyss, using their combined powers to condense and tear the lair apart from the rest.
- 42:41SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: Condensing it to the size of about a human's head, trapping a Zubidexus within.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: And they cast the remnants of the layer into the astral plane.
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: That's what for one fuck.
- 42:55SPEAKER_01: The abyss didn't take this destruction lying down.
- 42:59SPEAKER_01: The abyss is kind of its own thing.
- 43:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, which is like also just another layer to this is the fact that the abyss itself is kind of sentient in a way.
- 43:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like it has its it it's it's doing its own thing.
- 43:11SPEAKER_04: It's not just a place where people live.
- 43:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 43:14SPEAKER_04: It I I don't know, that thought is just crazy.
- 43:18SPEAKER_04: Crazy to me.
- 43:19SPEAKER_04: So so having a layer ripped out of itself and tossed somewhere, it did not enjoy.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: The void left behind by that l layer lashed out at the gods and instantly pulled them in.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: Annihilating the entire pantheon.
- 43:33SPEAKER_04: Oh, instant karma.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: What the fu Instant karma.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:36SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: All that remained were were their memories and dreams.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, wow.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: That's it became the 230th layer called the Dreaming Gulf.
- 43:48SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 43:49SPEAKER_03: The Dreaming Gulf.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: It took the place of the one that had just been destroyed.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: It's this dark, windy, creepy, ethereal place.
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Kind of like its own little void.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: Within the abyss.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: The abyss is slowly processing these dead gods' remnants.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: And from them, creating the Lumara demons.
- 44:16SPEAKER_03: Oh slowly as in like still happening.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, which is where all which is where the Lumara demons are coming from.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, that's so cool.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:27SPEAKER_04: And suddenly I just want to And suddenly Demogorgan immediately regretted all of that.
- 44:34SPEAKER_03: Well, maybe send a party to go retrieve these dead gods' bodies.
- 44:40SPEAKER_04: Huh.
- 44:41SPEAKER_04: I wonder if their bodies are even still really in there.
- 44:44SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 44:44SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: Because it said leave it to be.
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it just it it's just their memories and their their dreams that we know of.
- 44:51SPEAKER_01: True.
- 44:52SPEAKER_04: Ah, damn.
- 44:54SPEAKER_04: That's the beautiful thing about DD.
- 44:56SPEAKER_01: But another beautiful thing about DD is their memories and their dreams could take physical form.
- 45:01SPEAKER_01: True.
- 45:02SPEAKER_04: Very true.
- 45:03SPEAKER_04: I mean, and also like, you know, what are we if not our dreams and memories?
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: So the that little, you know, head thing that Oh yeah, that's just in the astral sea.
- 45:14SPEAKER_01: Not anymore.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: Um, it actually wound up on the material plane.
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: Where it started to transform this region called the crawling jungle.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 45:25SPEAKER_01: And it started to become demonic and twisting the things around it.
- 45:29SPEAKER_04: That's ironic because like the realm was a jungle layer before, and it's ironic that it ended up in another jungle.
- 45:36SPEAKER_01: Well, even better still, is um a tyrannosaurus came upon the head void thing and ate it for him, the tyrannosaurus.
- 45:53SPEAKER_01: And Azubidexus himself became reincarnated into the body of this dinosaur.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: Which is how he became the god of demonic dinosaurs.
- 46:05SPEAKER_03: So he's now a dinosaur.
- 46:08SPEAKER_03: Dinosaur.
- 46:09SPEAKER_03: Demon dinosaur.
- 46:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: And because of the fact that he's confused and lost a lot of memories and stuff.
- 46:17SPEAKER_04: Because of the whole void football thing that happened.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, Dimogorgon is like, hey buddy, I'm gonna take good care of you.
- 46:25SPEAKER_01: You're my uh you're my ally.
- 46:27SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: Man, the land before time got weird.
- 46:31SPEAKER_03: This was the prequel that never got released.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: So back to the Lumara demons.
- 46:40SPEAKER_01: Um the demonomicon of Igwilv, which, whoo boy, Igwilv is a very interesting, she's very interesting and in her own right, her own episode.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: Because, first of all, she's called the Witch Queen, which is cool.
- 46:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right.
- 46:55SPEAKER_04: Life goals.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but anyways, she's a she's a demonologist.
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: Life goals.
- 47:01SPEAKER_01: And she speculated that each breed of Lumara evolved from the dreams of a different one of the dead deities.
- 47:10SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 47:10SPEAKER_01: And that their natures are a corruption of that deity's portfolio.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 47:15SPEAKER_04: Love it.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: So I'm going to start throwing out some names of the types of Lumara here, along with what the dream they're supposedly related to is.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: So Dibik was believed to have been born from the dreams of nightmares.
- 47:31SPEAKER_01: The dreams were nightmares of a dead goddess of love and art.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: The Yucubus from those of a god of law and peace, and the dreams of a goddess of nature and fertility formed the Manitus.
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 47:46SPEAKER_01: So the types of Lumara are as follows.
- 47:50SPEAKER_01: And as was before.
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: There were more, but yeah.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: So uh the Dybak spelled D-Y-B-U-K.
- 47:59SPEAKER_04: Great.
- 48:00SPEAKER_04: I I keep thinking that I know how a word is gonna be spelled, and then you actually spell it, and I'm like, okay, I've never read it.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it it's DD.
- 48:07SPEAKER_01: Don't don't don't even don't even try.
- 48:10SPEAKER_01: So they resembled a jellyfish with a simply sketched human face.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: But more importantly, they could possess and control dead bodies.
- 48:21SPEAKER_04: Great.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: Then plunge them into hedonism until that body was ruined.
- 48:27SPEAKER_04: So they literally like just took over people and made them sin until they died.
- 48:32SPEAKER_01: They were already dead.
- 48:34SPEAKER_03: Just until the body was completely.
- 48:37SPEAKER_04: Oh, until the oh, okay, okay.
- 48:39SPEAKER_01: Until the body just couldn't handle it anymore.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: They spend a lot of time looking for Dizarro bodies.
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: So hence the corruption of the goddess of love and art.
- 48:48SPEAKER_03: Also, I love the face of that.
- 48:50SPEAKER_03: It's just like, meh.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: Meh.
- 48:53SPEAKER_04: Need more need more sin.
- 48:56SPEAKER_04: Dead body, fuck more.
- 48:59SPEAKER_04: Uh bad instead of badly instead of the uh the onion article, badly injured man not done partying yet, it's just dead man not done partying yet.
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: You write.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Um, so the next are the uh the yuckoboo.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: Yukuboo.
- 49:19SPEAKER_03: Yukuo.
- 49:19SPEAKER_01: Yukuboo.
- 49:22SPEAKER_01: Which is spelled G U E C U B U.
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: And these are demons that resemble masses of vapor and could possess and control sleeping humanoids.
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: Once in control, a Yukobus would ride silently, but would eventually begin to murder people, especially the victims, family, and friends.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: They would conceal their actions from even the victim and believed that blood spilled formed a pattern.
- 49:51SPEAKER_04: Okay, like yeah, but that's also like scary.
- 49:54SPEAKER_04: That's legitimately unsettling.
- 49:57SPEAKER_04: Like red blood pattern.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:00SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 50:01SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 50:02SPEAKER_01: Alright, cool.
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: So this is probably the least upsetting one to me personally, but also very upsetting to me personally, and Travis is going every everyone's going to know why as soon as I start saying it.
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: This next one is the Calagros, and it's spelled C-A-L-I-G-R-O-S-T-O-S.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: And they are considered the most sadistic of the Lumara demons, capable of possessing weapons, particularly slashing weapons, and even enhancing such weapons with magic.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: Once the weapon has caused damage, though, Demon Sword.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: The Cal Groostro could manifest, though still immaterial, and wield the still physical weapon on its own.
- 50:50SPEAKER_04: Demon Sword.
- 50:51SPEAKER_04: Demon Sword.
- 50:53SPEAKER_03: Now, had I known about this before making what you made.
- 50:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:00SPEAKER_04: That bastard.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: Um I might have gone with that.
- 51:04SPEAKER_04: We've gone in that direction.
- 51:06SPEAKER_03: But at the same time, we've still used that.
- 51:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:11SPEAKER_04: Listen.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: So Travis gave me a fucking talking, non-demonic, but still very bad sword.
- 51:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:19SPEAKER_04: Like he's not evil, but like he's bad.
- 51:21SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 51:22unknown: Yeah.
- 51:23SPEAKER_01: So anyway, uh the next and final of the Lumara is the Manitou, spelled M-A-N-I-T-O-U.
- 51:31SPEAKER_01: And they naturally appeared as a tingle of vines, each one tipped with a fanged mouth.
- 51:36SPEAKER_01: And they could possess any plant, animal, or fee.
- 51:40SPEAKER_01: But in their incorporeal form, they could literally tear the natural world apart.
- 51:44SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's hmm.
- 51:46SPEAKER_03: So why don't they?
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: They can get to more places.
- 51:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, that I mean that kind of makes sense.
- 51:53SPEAKER_01: And they enjoyed causing this pain of like exercising their will upon creatures and seeing their family horrified.
- 52:05SPEAKER_04: So it's like if they just destroyed the world, then their fun would be over.
- 52:08SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 52:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 52:10SPEAKER_04: Man, that sucks.
- 52:11SPEAKER_04: That's uh oh man.
- 52:13SPEAKER_04: That's very upsetting, actually.
- 52:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: It it's it is very uh the images are visceral.
- 52:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they're uh evocative.
- 52:23SPEAKER_01: They took glee in the ruination of the wilderness, particularly in Sylvan Regions.
- 52:28SPEAKER_04: Man, that sucks.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: Man, yeah.
- 52:31SPEAKER_04: And and they they hurt the environment.
- 52:34SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 52:35SPEAKER_04: Come on, man.
- 52:36SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: Come on, man.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: I can excuse murder murder, but I draw the line at environment ruination.
- 52:42SPEAKER_04: I mean, I mean, no, I I don't excuse murder.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: But like, you know.
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: So that is it for the Lumara.
- 52:53SPEAKER_01: And real quick, because I am running out of time, I'm gonna quickly go over some types of demons that are not covered as uh any of those three.
- 53:02SPEAKER_04: Of course, there has to be.
- 53:04SPEAKER_04: There have to be.
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: There's several, actually, so I'm only going to go over a few of them.
- 53:09SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: So there's the Bebelith, which are these giant spider demons, basically.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: You can guess where they are, right?
- 53:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, they're with Lolf.
- 53:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, they're her.
- 53:21SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: Um brain didn't really process a second.
- 53:25SPEAKER_04: Taylor, there's like 666 layers in the abyss.
- 53:28SPEAKER_04: Well, how how would I know where the Oh Lolf, right?
- 53:30SPEAKER_04: Sexy spider queen.
- 53:31SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 53:32SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: They they were supposedly created by her, but that's disputed.
- 53:37SPEAKER_01: But it's whatever.
- 53:38SPEAKER_04: They're spirit.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: Pretty much.
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: Uh then there is the blood fiend, which were uh initially created in the elemental chaos, but they feed on the blood of living creatures, and they're absolutely horrifying.
- 53:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they they nasty, but in a different way than vampires.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, pretty much.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: Um, blood fiends preyed on other fiends.
- 53:59SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 54:00SPEAKER_01: Instead of humans, like vampires do.
- 54:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, gotcha.
- 54:03SPEAKER_04: What would happen if a vampire drank the blood of like a fiend?
- 54:06SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 54:07SPEAKER_04: That could be an interesting, like, homebrewed monster.
- 54:10SPEAKER_04: Like maybe it turns them into something different.
- 54:12SPEAKER_04: Maybe a blood fiend.
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: Maybe, maybe just a blood fiend, but that's a that's an idea that I understood.
- 54:18SPEAKER_01: Next are the um death drinkers, which they're native to the abyss, but they're not anything else.
- 54:28SPEAKER_01: They're not over its.
- 54:30SPEAKER_01: They're not Oh, they're nasty.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 54:33SPEAKER_01: They're highly egotistical and bloodthirsty.
- 54:36SPEAKER_01: Um, they're exceedingly they they believe their race is better than everything else.
- 54:41SPEAKER_01: And yeah.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: Which, like, while that's not an uncommon philosophy.
- 54:46SPEAKER_01: It's just interesting that one that's so small compared to everything else.
- 54:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and also like when when that's a trait in you that is pointed out amongst demons, that's when you know it's like insane.
- 54:59SPEAKER_04: You know, that's when you know they're really, really egotistical and up their own asses.
- 55:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:04SPEAKER_04: Which means I would I would not want to go up one of their asses because they look very dry.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: Uh, so then there's the Gower, which is a type of demon that is cre was created by Baphomet.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, Baphomet! We're going to start talking about Baphomet in the next episode.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, Ba Baphomet's here too.
- 55:22SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 55:22SPEAKER_03: Baphomet's here.
- 55:23SPEAKER_03: He has made an appearance.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: Maw demons, which were lesser demons, were this basically giant mouth that was constantly hungry, and Igwill have actually considered them unintelligent demonic wildlife instead of uh like belonging to a particular race.
- 55:42SPEAKER_03: Oh, they're kind of cute.
- 55:44SPEAKER_03: Demonic wildlife is interesting.
- 55:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm I'm with it.
- 55:49SPEAKER_01: If you think that's cute, Nashwru, which is um N-A-S-H-R-O-U, that's also very cute and is also a kind of demonic wildlife.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 56:01SPEAKER_01: Are you demonic wildlife?
- 56:03SPEAKER_03: Probably.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: Um, and then finishing up with a couple more construct type created for particular reasons, are the Yakl, which were shape-changing demons created by Lolf.
- 56:17SPEAKER_01: Um Damn it, Lolf.
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 56:20SPEAKER_01: She she's good at it.
- 56:21SPEAKER_01: She's too good.
- 56:23SPEAKER_01: So then there are the quasites, which are similar to imps and were thought to be created to spy on devils.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: Uh and then retrievers, which are the constructs that um Dibangorgon had made.
- 56:38SPEAKER_01: Retrievers.
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, retrievers.
- 56:41SPEAKER_01: They're at they're demonic constructs.
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 56:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, I kind of wish they were like demonic dogs.
- 56:46SPEAKER_01: Because uh well, there's demonic demons.
- 56:50SPEAKER_01: Shisuva.
- 56:52SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 56:53SPEAKER_04: I just think it'd be fun if they were.
- 56:54SPEAKER_04: I thought all demons were demonic.
- 56:56SPEAKER_01: What do you think?
- 56:57SPEAKER_01: I I said di demonic hyenas.
- 56:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, you said demons.
- 57:00SPEAKER_04: I said demons.
- 57:01SPEAKER_01: I meant hyenas.
- 57:03SPEAKER_01: I'm so sorry.
- 57:04SPEAKER_04: It's okay.
- 57:05SPEAKER_04: Also, that's fucking awesome.
- 57:07SPEAKER_04: But I just think it would be funny if they were called retrievers and they were like demonic golden retrievers.
- 57:11SPEAKER_04: Could you imagine a demonic golden retriever?
- 57:14SPEAKER_04: I can't.
- 57:14SPEAKER_01: I also can't.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: I don't want to.
- 57:17SPEAKER_04: Too good, too pure.
- 57:18SPEAKER_01: But that's all I've got.
- 57:20SPEAKER_01: I mean I mean, you've got more, but that's all I can do today.
- 57:24SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 57:25SPEAKER_04: Time constraints.
- 57:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 57:27SPEAKER_04: Buckle in, guys.
- 57:28SPEAKER_04: Our first like three-hour episode.
- 57:29SPEAKER_04: We're talking about all the demons today.
- 57:30SPEAKER_04: Oh boy.
- 57:31SPEAKER_03: Uh information overload.
- 57:32SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 57:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:33SPEAKER_04: Nope.
- 57:33SPEAKER_04: Nope.
- 57:34SPEAKER_04: My throat would be so sore.
- 57:36SPEAKER_04: Can't do it.
- 57:37SPEAKER_04: I could not talk.
- 57:38SPEAKER_04: Not to mention mine.
- 57:39SPEAKER_04: I love to talk, but I would not want to talk that much.
- 57:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, uh, next week, or next week, sorry, not next week.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: Next time I next Taylor.
- 57:49SPEAKER_01: Next Taylor episode.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna talk about the Tanari in depth.
- 57:53SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna talk about the Demon Lords, and we're gonna get closer and closer to finishing up this infernal arc.
- 57:59SPEAKER_03: The infernal questline.
- 58:01SPEAKER_01: There's so much more information about the infernals than there was about the Celestials.
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: And looking back on it now, I left out a lot of stuff about the Celestials.
- 58:10SPEAKER_01: I might have to revisit something about it at some point.
- 58:14SPEAKER_04: I mean, that kind of that kind of makes sense almost that there would be more, yeah, more information about the evil side because I feel like that's yeah, maybe what we what your your player characters would come into opposition with more.
- 58:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 58:29SPEAKER_04: And also like, it's cooler.
- 58:31SPEAKER_04: Like true.
- 58:32SPEAKER_04: Let's be let's be honest with ourselves.
- 58:34SPEAKER_04: It's cooler.
- 58:35SPEAKER_04: I'm kidding.
- 58:35SPEAKER_04: Some of the the celestial stuff was really cool, but uh, you know, it it makes sense to me that there's more about um the infernals.
- 58:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, personally.

- 59:11SPEAKER_04: I mean, what other Lilith would you have named her after?
- 59:15SPEAKER_04: That's the most important one.

- 1:00:12SPEAKER_03: Alright, I think we're gonna have to go address the kitty.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_03: Go address the kitty, because she's dying.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_03: She's not, but she sure's she'll think she is.
