Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right, I'm Alex Garrett,
• 0:05
Speaker 1: the one leg of Alex Media Mini cast Yankee's eight
• 0:08
Speaker 1: and four the first twelve, and I wanted to do
• 0:11
Speaker 1: a little podcast called the First twelve because, let's face it,
• 0:14
Speaker 1: these first twelve games were crucial. I know it's early on,
• 0:17
Speaker 1: but you want to have a nice little setup into
• 0:20
Speaker 1: Ali's play. It's the first series of Ali's play this
• 0:23
Speaker 1: weekend against the Rays, and I thought, boy, if they
• 0:28
Speaker 1: can go I don't know if undefeated with a pipe dream,
• 0:31
Speaker 1: but if they go nine and three their first twelve,
• 0:34
Speaker 1: I'd be happy. They end up at eight and four,
• 0:36
Speaker 1: and a few of those losses were tough, but overall
• 0:39
Speaker 1: my assessment is this Yankee's pitching looks on the mark.
• 0:43
Speaker 1: Look it took until Saturday for a pitcher to give
• 0:47
Speaker 1: up three runs by the Yanks this past first twelve games.
• 0:53
Speaker 1: Last night, Ryan Wethers a one nothing loss. I mean,
• 0:56
Speaker 1: he pitched a gem of a game. It was a
• 0:58
Speaker 1: picture's duel against the A's. So then where are the gaps? Well,
• 1:02
Speaker 1: the bottom of the lineup right now, almost everybody there
• 1:06
Speaker 1: from Wells on down hitting under one hundred one hundred.
• 1:14
Speaker 1: That's got to change, and I think it will. And then,
• 1:16
Speaker 1: of course the situation is hitting. I've liked it at times.
• 1:20
Speaker 1: I think it's great that we've won majority of these
• 1:22
Speaker 1: first eight games without a homer. Let's face that idea too.
• 1:26
Speaker 1: Is Tuesday night, gritty game against the A Stanton he
• 1:31
Speaker 1: got a base it up the middle. He actually started
• 1:33
Speaker 1: the season with five straight multi hit games, I mean,
• 1:37
Speaker 1: and Ben Rice doing the same with his doubling and
• 1:39
Speaker 1: a couple homers along the way. But overall, I like
• 1:43
Speaker 1: the way they hit in situations. They just got to
• 1:46
Speaker 1: improve on it and maybe not sure and the bases
• 1:49
Speaker 1: loaded like they did last home opener against the Marlins.
• 1:53
Speaker 1: That game with the bases loaded, I was they scored
• 1:56
Speaker 1: a little more, but they still get the win. So overall,
• 1:59
Speaker 1: eight and four in the first twelve, it's a great
• 2:02
Speaker 1: start of the season, there's no doubt about it. But
• 2:04
Speaker 1: we can just get the bottom of the lineup above
• 2:07
Speaker 1: the Mendoza line. That's a start, and then go from
• 2:09
Speaker 1: there and just keep winning games without relying on the homer.
• 2:13
Speaker 1: That's my message here at one like a Balox Media.
• 2:16
Speaker 1: I remember, here's a little footage from last week opening
• 2:18
Speaker 1: Day twenty twenty six, the home opener against the mon
