- 1:00Speaker 1: M all right, no idea, no idea how today is
- 1:24Speaker 1: gonna go. But I'm gonna I'm gonna wing it. Here's
- 1:27Speaker 1: the thing about Here's the thing about the flu is
- 1:31Speaker 1: that there's a sense of and I don't know how
- 1:37Speaker 1: many of you out there have had the flu, but
- 1:41Speaker 1: there's this this weird like, for lack of a better term,
- 1:49Speaker 1: some like fogginess where it just I don't know, kind
- 1:55Speaker 1: of like almost like I've been smoking on a little
- 2:01Speaker 1: something but I don't know, you know. And I've heard, well,
- 2:05Speaker 1: you've got to be pushing the water, and I have
- 2:08Speaker 1: basically consumed a lake and still drinking so much water,
- 2:16Speaker 1: so much water, so I know it's uh, I know
- 2:19Speaker 1: it's not dehydration. So wow, We've got a lot of
- 2:26Speaker 1: stuff going on, a lot of stuff to talk about.
- 2:28Speaker 1: We're looking at cloudy skies today for the most part,
- 2:31Speaker 1: highs around a fifteen degrees. It's gonna be cold tonight
- 2:36Speaker 1: four mostly cloudy, kind of uneventful. This weather forecast is like,
- 2:45Speaker 1: this is some boring stuff. Man, Thursday tomorrow overcast in
- 2:49Speaker 1: twenty degrees. It would be fun to have g Spot
- 2:56Speaker 1: back with us though on Thursday tomorrow, I have to
- 3:04Speaker 1: I'll be honest. You know, I was driving in this
- 3:05Speaker 1: morning and I'm thinking to myself, Gee's not gonna be
- 3:09Speaker 1: with you this morning, so you're not gonna laugh, which
- 3:13Speaker 1: is good because I'm having a very difficult time laughing
- 3:18Speaker 1: because basically from all of the coughing that I've been
- 3:21Speaker 1: doing over the last week or so, it feels like
- 3:25Speaker 1: all my ribs are busted, just really, I mean intense coughing.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So anyway, whole front of me just feels like I
- 3:39Speaker 1: was training over at Granite City MMA or something. Thursday, Yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 1: twenty degrees tomorrow, overcast Friday, sunshine twenty six and maybe
- 3:54Speaker 1: some snow measurable snow on Sat. Maybe, but it's not
- 4:02Speaker 1: going to be much if we do get any. Glenn
- 4:06Speaker 1: is saying, how do you like the lemons? So Glenn
- 4:09Speaker 1: sends me this recipe here. Let me see if I
- 4:11Speaker 1: can pull it up here so I can make sure
- 4:14Speaker 1: that I've got it right. Glenn Brammer and he's done
- 4:19Speaker 1: this before. He has sent me this recipe before Nature's
- 4:23Speaker 1: flu shot. Lemons, garlic, ginger powder, honey, pineapple juice, kyne pepper,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and it says blend all the ingredients thoroughly in store
- 4:42Speaker 1: and a glass jar. Take one cup four times a
- 4:47Speaker 1: day until the symptoms are resolved. So here it is
- 4:53Speaker 1: buddy to good health. Who needs coffee every day? When
- 5:10Speaker 1: you can have that game wellness? Wednesday is today from
- 5:17Speaker 1: Washington County Mental Health. It is happening at around to
- 5:22Speaker 1: have four point thirty this afternoon, So come on out
- 5:25Speaker 1: and relax. Get a massage, a share massage, a table massage,
- 5:29Speaker 1: try some Reikie, some mile facial body release, some acupressure, acupuncture.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It's all free. Get a hot cup of tea and
- 5:43Speaker 1: reserve your appointment if you can with Robin at eight
- 5:46Speaker 1: o two four seven nine, four zero five five. Do
- 5:52Speaker 1: that in advance, okay, so that they can kind of
- 5:56Speaker 1: space things out. But all these services, all of these
- 6:00Speaker 1: practitioners that do this with Washington County Mental Health over
- 6:04Speaker 1: at the well Space building on Summer Street. They do
- 6:08Speaker 1: this for free on Wednesdays, just to give you a
- 6:11Speaker 1: little taste test of everything that they offer. So get
- 6:17Speaker 1: over there and again it's free four thirty until seven
- 6:19Speaker 1: o'clock tonight upstairs at the well Space building at twenty
- 6:22Speaker 1: three Summer Street. Thanks for bearing with me this morning.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It's very good, very good. I like that saying. I
- 6:47Speaker 1: think I may have gone a little heavy on the
- 6:52Speaker 1: Kyne Pepper, which will probably get me on the back
- 6:57Speaker 1: end later, if you know what I'm saying. Sports. So,
- 7:03Speaker 1: Los Angeles beat Minnesota twenty seven to nine in a
- 7:09Speaker 1: game that was played in Glendale, Arizona due to the
- 7:13Speaker 1: LA Wildfires, final game of the wildcard matchup. Watched a
- 7:18Speaker 1: little bit of in and out. Sometimes could hear it,
- 7:27Speaker 1: couldn't see it. Sometimes could see it, couldn't hear it,
- 7:29Speaker 1: but either way, tried to watch a little bit of football.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Wait till you go later, bring a fire extinguisher to
- 7:41Speaker 1: the bathroom. While I was flwing late last week and
- 7:50Speaker 1: over the weekend, a few things happened, And I'm trying
- 7:59Speaker 1: to get caught off with some of the things here,
- 8:02Speaker 1: but I know Vermont's legislative committee began to take shape.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Governor Scott gave his inaugural speech addressing Vermont's affordability crisis.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I missed all that. I haven't heard. It was slept
- 8:24Speaker 1: for a couple of days straight. With the education funding
- 8:30Speaker 1: formula issue headlined the big session yesterday afternoon. Apparently this
- 8:37Speaker 1: week is going to be spent talking with the state's
- 8:41Speaker 1: tax commissioner, education secretary, and a few others regarding all
- 8:45Speaker 1: of this super exciting and fun subject matter. Vermont's Health
- 8:53Speaker 1: Department in the City of Burlington delivered some exciting updates
- 8:59Speaker 1: on the the overdose Prevention Center yesterday afternoon. The update
- 9:06Speaker 1: they have no timeline whatsoever. That's it, as it was
- 9:14Speaker 1: saying last week here on aired out. The US Department
- 9:18Speaker 1: of Housing and Urban Development set aside twelve billion dollars
- 9:24Speaker 1: in disaster recovery funds to be spread out across twenty
- 9:28Speaker 1: four states and territories, including Vermont. Vermont's going to get
- 9:33Speaker 1: a sixty eight million dollar piece of the pie for
- 9:38Speaker 1: flood recovery from the floods at twenty three and twenty four.
- 9:46Speaker 1: How exactly that sixty eight million dollars is going to
- 9:51Speaker 1: be divvied up across Vermont nobody knows, not yet anyway.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Nate Formulari, the Deputy commissioner for Vermont's Department of Housing
- 10:06Speaker 1: and Community Development, says that this sixty eight million dollar
- 10:10Speaker 1: check from the government is just a supplement and will
- 10:14Speaker 1: not solve the greater housing issues in Vermont. I was
- 10:18Speaker 1: reading this yesterday I think it was CAx, and I
- 10:22Speaker 1: thought that was some interesting comments from Nate. One can
- 10:32Speaker 1: only wonder how much of it will actually fund affordable
- 10:37Speaker 1: housing projects in the state, and how much of it
- 10:41Speaker 1: is going to go into the pockets of those who
- 10:44Speaker 1: are content just living off the state and have been
- 10:47Speaker 1: for many years. Let's hope that most of it's going
- 10:55Speaker 1: to actually help reel ver honors rebuild their lives and
- 11:00Speaker 1: towns rebuild their infrastructure enough to withstand the next flood.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Oh and yes, there will be the next flood. It
- 11:17Speaker 1: wasn't easy reading some of some of the stories going
- 11:21Speaker 1: on in Vermont over the last couple of days. What
- 11:29Speaker 1: else is going on? Burlington City councilors debated their relationship
- 11:37Speaker 1: with the police department, discussing recruitment issues and officer morale.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And the timing really perfect for all of this, Just
- 11:53Speaker 1: as the temporary executive order was signed by the mayor
- 11:57Speaker 1: last week. I actually actually hurt myself when I fell
- 12:03Speaker 1: off the chair after reading it, an executive order that
- 12:08Speaker 1: requires the police department to filter press releases through her
- 12:17Speaker 1: office before sharing them with the public. Now, I know
- 12:21Speaker 1: this story has been hanging around now for what a
- 12:26Speaker 1: good week maybe more in Vermont, but wow, what a
- 12:36Speaker 1: cluster in Burlington. Meanwhile, Mayor Mulvaney has been accused of
- 12:43Speaker 1: political posturing and continues to take fire from mixing personal
- 12:49Speaker 1: opinion with official communication and that all of this can
- 12:56Speaker 1: lead to great confusion, misrepresentation, miscommunication. Von Herman, you are
- 13:07Speaker 1: spot on and to add that clear and consistent messaging
- 13:17Speaker 1: ensures that fellow Burlingtononians receive accurate information and impartial information
- 13:25Speaker 1: to make informed decisions on the trust and integrity of
- 13:31Speaker 1: our city leaders. Lends support that you are again spot on.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Really something else? But has all of this fallen on
- 13:45Speaker 1: deaf fears? I don't know. We'll all watch and wait, right.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Don't get your hopes too high though, Oh my goodness.
- 14:02Speaker 1: WCAX and PTZ report that the executive order was prompted
- 14:09Speaker 1: by information that the police department shared about a repeat
- 14:13Speaker 1: offender and a press release back in December. The order, again,
- 14:18Speaker 1: which is temporary, I'm sure I understand that is going
- 14:25Speaker 1: to remain in effect until city leaders can establish a
- 14:29Speaker 1: new press release policy. Sounds like they're just Mulvaney's just
- 14:44Speaker 1: trying to I don't know, man, come up with a
- 14:47Speaker 1: way to keep information away from Vermonors. This Patrick Ibotson
- 15:02Speaker 1: story is what it is as a repeat offender, and
- 15:10Speaker 1: the public deserves to see and hear uncensored, unfiltered information
- 15:20Speaker 1: from the police department, which I would think would have
- 15:28Speaker 1: a pretty good level of discerning what information should be
- 15:35Speaker 1: put out to the public and what shouldn't. That the
- 15:38Speaker 1: police department has the professionalism, level of professionalism and capacity
- 15:48Speaker 1: to make a decision on what they write and what
- 15:58Speaker 1: information they disseminate to the general public, I would think.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But if I was, I don't know, if I was
- 16:13Speaker 1: the chief, I mean, how condescending to say to the
- 16:18Speaker 1: police department, you're not putting stuff out until it passes
- 16:22Speaker 1: my desk. First. Wow, how embarrassing that Burlington keeps letting
- 16:31Speaker 1: this guy and others many others go free exactly no transparency.
- 16:42Speaker 1: They keep letting him go still, and they don't want
- 16:48Speaker 1: the public to know about each time that he's slapped
- 16:51Speaker 1: on the wrist, for each offense that he commits. He
- 16:55Speaker 1: is more than a public nuisance, He's a public hazard
- 17:01Speaker 1: and like so many others, needs to be removed from
- 17:07Speaker 1: our communities. Right Stacey, Censorship at its finest Right there,
- 17:17Speaker 1: Burlington you got a lot of troubles, and the affordability
- 17:23Speaker 1: crisis continues in our state. But Burlington, man, you guys,
- 17:29Speaker 1: buckle up because you ain't seen nothing yet. Now we
- 17:33Speaker 1: got Burlington residents facing numerous impacts to their wallets on
- 17:39Speaker 1: town meeting day and in next year's budget, this looming bond,
- 17:47Speaker 1: this looming bond vote that is now getting traction in
- 17:51Speaker 1: the news today, and the property tax hike. Yeah, Burlington,
- 18:00Speaker 1: buckle up. Twenty five is going to be a wild
- 18:03Speaker 1: ride for you. Really is. Let's see what other headlines
- 18:09Speaker 1: from woman rams police cruisers injures deputy during a pursuit.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Her name was in a press release because it happened
- 18:20Speaker 1: just outside of Plattsburgh. Coles has closed in twenty seven
- 18:26Speaker 1: stores across more than a dozen states as the struggling
- 18:31Speaker 1: retailer looks to improve profitability. Fifteen or eleven fifty stores
- 18:39Speaker 1: nationwide have been listed as underperforming. A calm down Coles fans,
- 18:52Speaker 1: Berlin's not on the chopping block, Okay, at least not
- 18:57Speaker 1: yet will be. Okay? What else was happening while I
- 19:03Speaker 1: was under the grips of the flu chuck in WCAX,
- 19:08Speaker 1: the Montpelier Police department responded to an unusual call over
- 19:13Speaker 1: the weekend about loose donkeys blocking the road. Please say
- 19:18Speaker 1: they got multiple reports of donkeys wandering up and down
- 19:21Speaker 1: Main Street on Saturday morning. With the help of the
- 19:25Speaker 1: owners of the donkeys, officers were able to round up
- 19:30Speaker 1: all of these asses safely and bring them home without
- 19:34Speaker 1: any incidents. One of the dreams that I had when
- 19:39Speaker 1: I had the flu was very similar. Donkeys were rum
- 19:43Speaker 1: in the streets and mailboxes everywhere were blown up, all
- 19:47Speaker 1: at the same time. It was insane. Wait a minute,
- 19:54Speaker 1: that was actually happening in Woolkitt, Johnson and Morrisville, minus
- 20:01Speaker 1: the donkey's on the loose. Yes, but the Lamoyle County
- 20:06Speaker 1: Sheriff's Department is investigating the blowing up of mailboxes. Apparently
- 20:17Speaker 1: everyone's mailboxes are blowing up in Wilket, Johnson and Morrisville.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Where's the security camera footage of this stuff? You know,
- 20:30Speaker 1: maybe someone's trying to stop all this listening from Capital
- 20:33Speaker 1: one And while it was under the weather on Saturday,
- 20:43Speaker 1: I missed all of the Devin Hallick excitement. Hallick, who
- 20:49Speaker 1: was spotted walking along North Main Street here in very
- 20:52Speaker 1: Big as Life gives Chase ends up on the roof
- 20:58Speaker 1: of a home for two hours before giving up. Saturday.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Was that Saturday night? I think he'll be back in
- 21:07Speaker 1: court again soon, but hopefully the judge isn't the same
- 21:10Speaker 1: judge who's friends with Patrick Ibodson, just saying. Cluster Berry
- 21:21Speaker 1: City Police hosted a public form about what's going on
- 21:24Speaker 1: in our city at the Barry Auditorium. I would have
- 21:27Speaker 1: loved to have been there. Were you. Is there video
- 21:32Speaker 1: of it anywhere? I'm sure there is. I just haven't
- 21:38Speaker 1: been up for it for noticing, but I will if
- 21:42Speaker 1: it does exist anywhere. Was Carlos Perez in his so
- 21:47Speaker 1: called pregnant girlfriend harassing and threatening people in parking lots?
- 21:51Speaker 1: Was that brought up? I wonder? I wonder yeak, good morning. Hi.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I'm not sure who that is, but they I don't
- 22:13Speaker 1: think they know that they're on the air. I'm trying
- 22:18Speaker 1: so hard not to laugh, I really am. I'm gonna
- 22:22Speaker 1: see if I can reach the busy crew over at
- 22:27Speaker 1: Montpelier Volkswagen in Montpelier Mazda this morning. Oh are they there?
- 22:34Speaker 1: Good morning? Can you hear me? All right? Yeah? We can, man,
- 22:40Speaker 1: How are you? Jason Trompley and Chris Olsen, what's going.
- 22:43Speaker 2: On this morning?
- 22:46Speaker 1: Oh? Man, I couldn't possibly feel any better. I'm just
- 22:53Speaker 1: have you guys said, Have you guys had the flu
- 22:55Speaker 1: ripping through the uh ripping through the dealership over there
- 22:59Speaker 1: at all or not?
- 23:01Speaker 3: We've been lucky on Volkswagen side so far.
- 23:04Speaker 2: We're hoping to stay that way.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, what's what's the explained to folks? You guys
- 23:11Speaker 1: are in the same building, but there is a rather
- 23:14Speaker 1: thick wall between the two of you. Is that right?
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead, Chris, Yeah, yeah, there's a there's you
- 23:22Speaker 3: could actually take it and it's then close the fire door.
- 23:26Speaker 2: And there are two separate buildings attached, kind of like
- 23:28Speaker 2: a townhouse, you know.
- 23:31Speaker 4: The manufacturer and everybody decided that it's best to have
- 23:34Speaker 4: two separate stores. That way, you have a technicians and
- 23:39Speaker 4: sales representatives and management that all knows all about the
- 23:44Speaker 4: brands we represent, so Jason and Volkswagen crew and they
- 23:50Speaker 4: are the Volkswagen experts. And we have myself and Derek
- 23:53Speaker 4: and Stephanie and our product specialists here and our technicians
- 23:56Speaker 4: on the MAZA side.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I mean, they are mas to people.
- 24:00Speaker 1: It is such an impressive building brand shiny new I
- 24:04Speaker 1: mean you could eat off the floors in there. Everybody
- 24:08Speaker 1: looks sharp, everybody is so professional, And I gotta tell you, man,
- 24:11Speaker 1: I was Chris, I was browsing through some of your
- 24:14Speaker 1: stuff on social media last night. Mazdas today are just
- 24:21Speaker 1: not what I remember, dude. I mean, it's like, these
- 24:26Speaker 1: are really impressive, impressive looking vehicles. My god.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:32Speaker 2: We like to say they're a premium car that had
- 24:36Speaker 2: a price to.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Be surprised at, you know, the whole, the whole idea
- 24:42Speaker 4: that Masa has taken in the last I don't know
- 24:45Speaker 4: decade to roll out as this very very clean fit
- 24:52Speaker 4: and finish, very very reliable.
- 24:57Speaker 2: But they're very much a premium car for you know.
- 25:00Speaker 4: They include all the safety features on every trim, the leather,
- 25:05Speaker 4: you know, we have like Naple leather in many of them,
- 25:09Speaker 4: and even when it's not.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Leather, the.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Soft surfaces that they put on the dash are are
- 25:16Speaker 4: are just premium fit and finished.
- 25:18Speaker 2: You can't we get.
- 25:20Speaker 6: BMW, LEXUS Volco customers in here every day going wow,
- 25:26Speaker 6: look at this.
- 25:28Speaker 2: But they're affordable too.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Yeah, there is definitely a wow factor which I had
- 25:34Speaker 1: last night when I was glancing through some of the stuff,
- 25:37Speaker 1: and I even said to my wife, I'm like, I
- 25:41Speaker 1: remember being like ten years old in nineteen eighty, seventy
- 25:46Speaker 1: nine to eighty riding around in my mom's back seat
- 25:50Speaker 1: of mom's Mazda, which was this silver Masta with the
- 25:56Speaker 1: red vinyl seats in the back, and she loved this
- 26:01Speaker 1: car and was like, I'm telling you, someday you got
- 26:04Speaker 1: to get a Musta. They last forever.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Well, well, Tad, we're waiting for you to spring down
- 26:11Speaker 4: when you're ready for your next one.
- 26:14Speaker 5: I have.
- 26:14Speaker 7: We actually have a We actually have a model that
- 26:19Speaker 7: it's called the Carbon Edition in the c X five,
- 26:24Speaker 7: which actually has red seats, and the.
- 26:27Speaker 2: New c X fifty hybrid comes with the red seats
- 26:30Speaker 2: like that. That red is a signature for us as it.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Is so impressive when you walk into that dealership. Low pressure,
- 26:41Speaker 1: great prices. That's the bottom line from you guys. It's
- 26:45Speaker 1: just a big family over there. And what's the deal, Chris.
- 26:48Speaker 1: If someone wants to come in and they see something
- 26:53Speaker 1: that they really like, what's your inventory like? And what's
- 26:56Speaker 1: the deal with test drives?
- 26:58Speaker 4: So our inventory we have just about anything you could
- 27:03Speaker 4: want that Masa offers you know, and then we have.
- 27:10Speaker 6: One hundred here plus another forty five that are coming
- 27:15Speaker 6: on the way, and then we actually can pull with
- 27:19Speaker 6: another three hundred cars almost at our sister store that
- 27:23Speaker 6: you know, for those folks that are here.
- 27:26Speaker 4: In the Mountilliar area, you no longer have to go
- 27:28Speaker 4: somewhere else to find the Masa that you want. We
- 27:30Speaker 4: have them either today, ready to take home today or
- 27:35Speaker 4: just the next day away.
- 27:39Speaker 2: And test drives.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Just come in and drive it. Like we very much
- 27:44Speaker 4: the masa. We have a very very no pressure.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Non commissioned salespeople over.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Here and they're just here to help you find the car,
- 27:58Speaker 4: find a car that you love.
- 27:59Speaker 2: And if you go look at a Bowt Dwaggen too,
- 28:01Speaker 2: like that's like it's it's We're a one stop shop
- 28:04Speaker 2: for sure, for all of it.
- 28:06Speaker 1: So what's the deal with with pricing right now? Are
- 28:10Speaker 1: there any big offers that you guys want to get
- 28:13Speaker 1: out there, want to push out there for APR A
- 28:16Speaker 1: lot of people are like, hey man, it's a new year,
- 28:18Speaker 1: but what's going on with with the feds. We're watching
- 28:21Speaker 1: the rates, What's what's happening? What's the deal?
- 28:24Speaker 4: Yeah, and we all don't I don't know how much
- 28:26Speaker 4: you all watch the FEDS, but looks like the FEDS
- 28:28Speaker 4: are going to hold steady on the rates, but Mases
- 28:31Speaker 4: have stayed low. We have financing as low as zero
- 28:34Speaker 4: point nine. I have a couple twenty twenty fours left
- 28:40Speaker 4: over as well in our CX ninety, which is a
- 28:43Speaker 4: beautiful three row vehicle. It's super I should have had
- 28:48Speaker 4: this right on the tip of my tongue.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I believe it's like three to ninety nine.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Lease on it on a c X ninety which is
- 28:54Speaker 4: three rows, all the safety features, all will drive.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Every SUV that MANSA sales is all a drive. So
- 29:03Speaker 2: so between zero point nine is a low least famous,
- 29:06Speaker 2: you know, take your pick.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Yeah, get the question here in the comments section while
- 29:11Speaker 1: we're live here. Do Mazdas make trucks.
- 29:17Speaker 2: They do not have trucks in the United States. Yea,
- 29:22Speaker 2: I wish they did because I have to have a truck.
- 29:27Speaker 4: So one of my vehicles is a truck and the
- 29:29Speaker 4: other one is a Maza three turbo hatchback.
- 29:34Speaker 2: But they do not make trucks.
- 29:35Speaker 4: The last truck they made was actually a partnership with
- 29:38Speaker 4: fod way back in the nineties and so they.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Don't have trucks.
- 29:43Speaker 4: They don't have trucks, and probably we won't see them
- 29:46Speaker 4: in America in my career.
- 29:48Speaker 1: All right, let's see if is Jason right there? Can
- 29:52Speaker 1: we chat Folkswagen? Oh yeah, yeah, he is, buddy. I
- 29:57Speaker 1: know that you guys have had this huge and drive event.
- 30:01Speaker 1: What is the deal with with that? Over at Volkswagen?
- 30:05Speaker 1: What what's the deal? Can you literally sign and drive
- 30:08Speaker 1: a car away?
- 30:10Speaker 2: So you can?
- 30:12Speaker 3: Unfortunately the signed and drive program ended at the end
- 30:14Speaker 3: of the year, but that doesn't stop the fact.
- 30:17Speaker 2: That we still have great deals right now.
- 30:19Speaker 3: I mean, I got over two hundred and thirty new
- 30:21Speaker 3: Volkswagens on the ground here ready ready for people to
- 30:25Speaker 3: take delivery, every shape, size, most colors, Yeah, and often
- 30:34Speaker 3: that anybody could want. We do have our super super
- 30:38Speaker 3: low ID four leases. Volkswagen really came out of the
- 30:42Speaker 3: gates in twenty twenty five, really trying to push the
- 30:46Speaker 3: ID four back to the market. And I don't know
- 30:49Speaker 3: if you've seen it, but I mean we have lease
- 30:50Speaker 3: deals as low as sixty nine dollars a month with
- 30:53Speaker 3: no money down on an I four.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I mean, and it's no fluff, it's no no you get.
- 30:59Speaker 3: In here and you have qualify for fourteen different things
- 31:02Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden, your least payments five
- 31:04Speaker 3: hundred dollars a month.
- 31:05Speaker 2: That just doesn't happen. JD.
- 31:07Speaker 3: They tried, They tried to get me on the Monsitor
- 31:09Speaker 3: side to least an ID four.
- 31:10Speaker 2: They tried really hard.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I put a few days of work into it, and
- 31:15Speaker 3: we're not there yet.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Wow. I mean, you know, I when I saw that
- 31:21Speaker 1: on your social media, I was like, how is that possible?
- 31:24Speaker 1: Sixty ninety dollars a month?
- 31:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's both legends really put their best foot forward
- 31:31Speaker 3: in January with giving the dealers the support they need
- 31:35Speaker 3: to really push these cars back to the market.
- 31:38Speaker 2: And all it really means to you.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Guys the consumers is a great deal on an electric
- 31:46Speaker 3: vehicle that can do everything you wanted to. The technology
- 31:50Speaker 3: is very very well equipped in all the models, and
- 31:55Speaker 3: you get all the services here, your lifetime and state
- 31:59Speaker 3: inspections as well.
- 32:00Speaker 1: So wow, you know, I got to tell you, guys,
- 32:04Speaker 1: kudos to Cam. You're a social media guy. He's doing
- 32:07Speaker 1: such a great job. I mean, when when someone comes
- 32:09Speaker 1: in there and and they they purchased a vehicle from
- 32:13Speaker 1: either one of you. They are just all smiles and
- 32:16Speaker 1: Cam is capturing that. And one of them I saw
- 32:19Speaker 1: was was someone had had this young guy had just
- 32:23Speaker 1: purchased the only twenty five v W I D buzz
- 32:29Speaker 1: and oh my god, man, what talk about a buzz?
- 32:34Speaker 1: There is a buzz on that thing.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Damn yeah, no fun intended there, there's a big buzz
- 32:39Speaker 3: of that. Everybody's been waiting for the ID Buzz for
- 32:42Speaker 3: a couple of years now.
- 32:44Speaker 2: And what a vehicle.
- 32:46Speaker 3: I mean, it's really worth the way you come in.
- 32:48Speaker 3: It gives you that nostalgic feel of the old VW
- 32:51Speaker 3: bus that you had back waiting before my time.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Maybe micros.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I don't know, I'm going the wall. I'm a little
- 33:00Speaker 2: bit older than Jason everybody know. But we actually had
- 33:03Speaker 2: one of those orange from Folkswagen. In the end.
- 33:05Speaker 4: I see the orange ID Boss and I go, dang,
- 33:08Speaker 4: that looks like the one when I.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Was a kid.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I know, man, But we're talking what seventy two, right
- 33:15Speaker 1: ish yep?
- 33:15Speaker 3: Seventy yeah, so all wheel drive one with all all
- 33:19Speaker 3: the goodies in it. Your mirror on seventy two, But
- 33:21Speaker 3: that's before any discounts and Fulkwagon's really put a good
- 33:23Speaker 3: step forward in not just rolling out a car and
- 33:29Speaker 3: putting no incentive behind it. They've really they want this
- 33:33Speaker 3: car to get out to market. They want people to
- 33:36Speaker 3: have it, I mean, and they've given us a sport too.
- 33:39Speaker 3: You don't just get one, you know, you can come down,
- 33:41Speaker 3: you can touch it, feel it, drive it, because it
- 33:44Speaker 3: really is an experience all in itself.
- 33:46Speaker 1: And it's all wheel drive.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Yep, you can get on all wheel drive. We do
- 33:51Speaker 3: have a rear wheel drive one here as well, but.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Fully electric, fully electric, fully electric. So have you had
- 34:00Speaker 1: a chance to test drive this thing and to have
- 34:03Speaker 1: a little nad I did.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I did test drive one with a customer.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Actually, all the sale on my sales insultants were tied up,
- 34:13Speaker 3: so I asked her if she need a help, and
- 34:15Speaker 3: she said, yeah, can you can I go for a
- 34:18Speaker 3: riding a bus? I said yeah, let me grab a
- 34:20Speaker 3: plate and she said you're driving. I said, all right,
- 34:22Speaker 3: well buckle up, here we go. And it was it
- 34:27Speaker 3: was really something else. I mean, we went up Gallas
- 34:30Speaker 3: and Hill, came downtown Hill, did the loop around and
- 34:35Speaker 3: the responsiveness of the vehicle for your being as big
- 34:37Speaker 3: as it is, it doesn't feel like you're driving something
- 34:42Speaker 3: that side.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Wow again no.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Not your mother's minivans.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I would love to pop over there sometimes stream live
- 34:54Speaker 1: and hop into one of those things if if you
- 34:56Speaker 1: have one available and and take our are our followers
- 35:01Speaker 1: have aired out for a little test drive themselves.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Absolutely, you know we're always here, Bud, all right, that's
- 35:09Speaker 3: my wife. I'm literally always here.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Boys, thank you ever so much. I got to get
- 35:15Speaker 1: over there soon and let's plan on a morning live
- 35:18Speaker 1: stream over there one of these days. If you got
- 35:20Speaker 1: the if is the coffee hot?
- 35:23Speaker 2: Oh? Always?
- 35:24Speaker 1: Okay, thanks guys, have a fantastic rest of your day
- 35:29Speaker 1: here and we love everything that you doing. Part of
- 35:32Speaker 1: the Auto Saver group the best price period. Of course,
- 35:36Speaker 1: you can browse them online. Montpelier Volkswagen dot com, Montpeliermazda
- 35:41Speaker 1: dot com. Eleven eighty nine US routine in Berlin. Just
- 35:44Speaker 1: passed the roundabout and get over there and say hello
- 35:49Speaker 1: to Chris, to Jason, to anyone part of the staff.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Appreciate you, guys, Thank you, Hey, keep up, thank you
- 35:57Speaker 1: my friend. We'll talk to you guys. Yeah, we'll talk
- 35:59Speaker 1: to you real soon.
- 36:01Speaker 2: By all right.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Again, if you're if you're just tuning in. We've got
- 36:08Speaker 1: a few folks, a few scragglers here this morning. We're
- 36:12Speaker 1: looking at we're looking at some a cold stretch here
- 36:17Speaker 1: that is going to continue for maybe another day or so.
- 36:22Speaker 1: What is it sixteen today? Sixteen today? What is it?
- 36:30Speaker 1: Four degrees tonight? I think is what they're saying, four
- 36:33Speaker 1: or five six degrees somewhere in there, and then a
- 36:37Speaker 1: little bit of a rebound tomorrow on Thursday, with the
- 36:42Speaker 1: cloudy skies in around twenty two tomorrow and maybe some
- 36:49Speaker 1: some snow for the weekend. But we're watching things here.
- 36:53Speaker 1: We're watching things, at least I'm trying to carefully.
- 36:58Speaker 8: Oh Man.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Jack Smith defending investigation into Donald Trump's new report out there.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Pete Hexath confronts allegations of miscontact at the Defense Secretary
- 37:16Speaker 1: confirmation hearing. I'm not sure if you've been finaling any
- 37:19Speaker 1: of that, keeping up with with any of that. Incredible,
- 37:27Speaker 1: really is wow. National headlines. Firefighters facing challenging conditions with
- 37:45Speaker 1: powerful wins forecasted over the next twenty four hours that
- 37:52Speaker 1: could reignite some fires and some extreme fire base behavior
- 38:03Speaker 1: sparking new infernos. I don't know if you saw the
- 38:05Speaker 1: video that it posted last night of this fire, NATO
- 38:10Speaker 1: tornado of fire. It was just unbelievable. Now Sural Weather
- 38:17Speaker 1: Service again reading this morning, they are issuing particularly dangerous
- 38:23Speaker 1: situation red flag warnings for the Los Angeles area, advising
- 38:29Speaker 1: of more high winds that could be causing fires to
- 38:34Speaker 1: intensify through tomorrow. This Palisades fire has burned over twenty
- 38:43Speaker 1: three thousand acres and the last I checked was only
- 38:49Speaker 1: about fourteen percent contained. This is crazy stuff. Do you
- 38:58Speaker 1: remember last week when I was talking about this and
- 39:04Speaker 1: I was like, things are gonna get worse real fast.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And it's those goddamn Santa Anna winds or whatever they are.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I just can't even imagine being there. The hotels, I mean, people,
- 39:21Speaker 1: you know, fill in the hotels because they have no
- 39:24Speaker 1: place to live, the pets, the livestock, everything, and the children.
- 39:33Speaker 1: And now we've got this new blaze called the Auto
- 39:36Speaker 1: fire that broke out Monday in Venture County, part of
- 39:43Speaker 1: an area under the highest fire threat as winds pick up.
- 39:50Speaker 1: The response from the fire department, I can't even imagine.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I can't even imagine, you know, and we see, you know,
- 40:01Speaker 1: we see the news, we see the planes and helicopters
- 40:05Speaker 1: dropping this chemical retardant on the on the fire. But
- 40:11Speaker 1: like somebody said last night, when you got flames that
- 40:15Speaker 1: are anywhere from fifty to one hundred feet in the air,
- 40:23Speaker 1: dropping these water on this or chemicals, they're not even
- 40:30Speaker 1: making their way to the ground. They're disintegrating. Water is
- 40:35Speaker 1: vaporizing before it's even had a chance to get to
- 40:40Speaker 1: the ground, to soak the ground. It's just it's unbelievable apocalyptic. Meanwhile,
- 40:51Speaker 1: the Eaten and Palisades fires the second and the fourth
- 40:58Speaker 1: most most just deructive in California history. And that's really
- 41:04Speaker 1: saying something because California's had it. The state's been burning
- 41:09Speaker 1: for a long time. Total area burned by the Palisades,
- 41:14Speaker 1: Eaten and the Hurst fires sixty square miles, an area
- 41:21Speaker 1: that is larger than Paris. Have you seen some of
- 41:27Speaker 1: the aerial pictures before and after. Saw some last night.
- 41:34Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it. But meanwhile, and listen, I know
- 41:42Speaker 1: there's tensions are high, emotions are high. There's a ton
- 41:46Speaker 1: of finger pointing going on. The mayor who promised that
- 41:52Speaker 1: she would not go overseas visiting Africa before this this fire,
- 42:01Speaker 1: even though the warnings were coming out in the weeks
- 42:06Speaker 1: leading up to it, that there could be a devastating fire,
- 42:12Speaker 1: that the conditions were prime and ripe for a tragic fire.
- 42:20Speaker 1: And the mayor did what she said she wouldn't do.
- 42:26Speaker 1: She left not only your state, not only your city,
- 42:34Speaker 1: but the country. You know, and governor knew some. I mean,
- 42:43Speaker 1: you know everybody is talking about that too. And the
- 42:49Speaker 1: the reservoirs that were left dry, fire hydrants that are
- 42:55Speaker 1: running out of water because the reservoirs have gone dry.
- 43:01Speaker 1: It's I don't know, it seems like we we just
- 43:10Speaker 1: can't have a tragedy without it getting political and you know,
- 43:25Speaker 1: finger pointing. I mean, even the extreme left is really
- 43:35Speaker 1: unhappy with the governor for ignoring, apparently ignoring warning signs
- 43:43Speaker 1: that something like this was not only possible but eminent. Meanwhile,
- 43:52Speaker 1: Hollywood debating whether the Grammy Awards should proceed as planned
- 43:56Speaker 1: on February two. I mean, after all, the nomination announcements
- 44:02Speaker 1: have respectfully been pushed to January third or January twenty third,
- 44:07Speaker 1: I should say, how dare those wildfires interrupt the voting
- 44:15Speaker 1: process for the Academy Awards? Disgusting? And I know they're
- 44:26Speaker 1: going to put the spin on it with well, if
- 44:29Speaker 1: we have the awards, we'll make it into a telethon
- 44:31Speaker 1: for support. How about just use the network for the
- 44:37Speaker 1: telethon fundraising efforts and do away with the awards or
- 44:42Speaker 1: put them off for a couple of months or more.
- 44:50Speaker 8: My god, so.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Disappointing, almost as much as the Biden administration putting effort
- 45:04Speaker 1: into creating new rules on exporting AI chips during all
- 45:08Speaker 1: of this. Who gives a shit about that? Right now? Joe,
- 45:17Speaker 1: did you get the memo that LA is burning? I
- 45:25Speaker 1: know he's trying to squeeze in a few things before
- 45:28Speaker 1: he cleans his desk. I understand, and the fine dignitaries
- 45:37Speaker 1: of LA are worried about whether or not the mess
- 45:42Speaker 1: is going to be cleaned up in time to host
- 45:44Speaker 1: the twenty twenty eight Olympics. Again, disgusting. Really, is that
- 45:54Speaker 1: what we need to be focused on right now and
- 45:57Speaker 1: worried about is the twenty two twenty eight Olympics and
- 46:01Speaker 1: whether or not they're going to happen in La. Well, listen,
- 46:06Speaker 1: if it's getting too much for you, just round it
- 46:09Speaker 1: all out in confirmation hearings this week. I don't know
- 46:14Speaker 1: what else to say. But here are the sad facts.
- 46:17Speaker 1: The death toll is twenty four at least that was
- 46:21Speaker 1: the last I had heard last night, and likely to rise.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Investigators have determined, according to the News Today, the actual
- 46:38Speaker 1: spot where the Palisades fire started was on a apparently
- 46:43Speaker 1: on a ridge near a hiking trail. Now. CNN says
- 46:48Speaker 1: it's not clear what ignited that fire, but the story
- 46:52Speaker 1: of how it started is slowly getting leaked. Was it
- 47:00Speaker 1: the New Year's Eve fireworks, which some say is the culprit.
- 47:09Speaker 5: Or.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Was it the illegal immigrant lighting a joint with a
- 47:13Speaker 1: blow torch who decided to light up a few dead
- 47:16Speaker 1: Christmas trees that people had left out for trash collection.
- 47:26Speaker 1: And it wasn't just rich Hollywood stars who lost everything.
- 47:35Speaker 1: This fire's rippen through all kinds of neighborhoods, middle class,
- 47:42Speaker 1: upper class story about this man and his son who
- 47:51Speaker 1: were both in wheelchairs, who called for help in trying
- 48:00Speaker 1: to get some assistance evacuating the eaten fire, and they
- 48:06Speaker 1: both died in that blaze. How sad family wants answers?
- 48:16Speaker 1: I think I think there's a lot of people that
- 48:20Speaker 1: want a lot of answers, and that's just one that's
- 48:24Speaker 1: just one of so many stories. But victims of the
- 48:32Speaker 1: fires should channel their anger into support for the environment,
- 48:37Speaker 1: so says Patty Davis. Did you read that one? I did.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Regardless of all of the finger pointing from all political
- 48:54Speaker 1: sides happening right now, the nation is praying, or at
- 48:57Speaker 1: least we should be, for all those affected by this
- 49:04Speaker 1: tragedy in Los Angeles. Let's see what else. Jack Smith,
- 49:18Speaker 1: who indicted Donald Trump in charges of illegally trying to
- 49:21Speaker 1: cling to power after the twenty twenty elections, set in
- 49:24Speaker 1: a report that there would have been sufficient evidence to
- 49:27Speaker 1: convict Trump in a trial. Of course, Trump's presidential win
- 49:31Speaker 1: made it impossible for the prosecution to continue. This is
- 49:37Speaker 1: history unfolding right before our eyes, Ladies and gentlemen. The
- 49:43Speaker 1: Education Department canceled student loans for thousands more borrowers. The
- 49:52Speaker 1: loans of more than five million Americans have been completely
- 49:58Speaker 1: erased and forgiven. Wow, Carry Underwood is going to perform
- 50:14Speaker 1: at Trump's inauguration. Does Trump even know who Carrie Underwood
- 50:24Speaker 1: is really? I wonder Elon Musk expected to be using
- 50:39Speaker 1: office space in the White House complex to keep him
- 50:42Speaker 1: close to Trump as he builds his Department of government efficiency. Wonderful.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Get an inside look of what that office is UH
- 50:53Speaker 1: is going to look like. Israel and Hummas in World
- 51:00Speaker 1: News said to be close to an agreement for a
- 51:04Speaker 1: ceasefire in Gaza, along with the release of around thirty
- 51:09Speaker 1: three hostages during the first phase of the agreement. Hamas
- 51:15Speaker 1: and its allies still hold ninety four of the two
- 51:20Speaker 1: hundred and fifty one hostages taken from Israel two hundred
- 51:27Speaker 1: and fifty one, including at least thirty four whom are dead.
- 51:38Speaker 1: This all according to Israeli government. Ukraine striking Russian regions
- 51:46Speaker 1: with a major drone in missile attack overnight, damaging at
- 51:52Speaker 1: least two factories and forcing schools to close in a
- 51:58Speaker 1: major southern Russian city. Well, there's just two of many
- 52:10Speaker 1: headlines going on in the world. I don't know what
- 52:17Speaker 1: to tell you anymore. Massy's saying he watched Iron Man
- 52:26Speaker 1: two yesterday. I forgot there was a quick elon Musk
- 52:32Speaker 1: cameo in that movie. I was thinking that Massy was
- 52:39Speaker 1: gonna say that I look like Iron Man, but he didn't.
- 52:45Speaker 1: It's okay. We're always live, We're always local, always never edited,
- 53:00Speaker 1: and heard on Facebook and YouTube right here from North
- 53:05Speaker 1: Main Street and Berry from Flying the Wall Productions. Good cough, Yeah,
- 53:17Speaker 1: try to be real. We try to be raw and
- 53:20Speaker 1: relevant and relatable. Little under the weather, coming back feeling
- 53:31Speaker 1: better and looking forward to I don't know if Rex
- 53:39Speaker 1: is going to be with me on Friday. I'm hoping
- 53:44Speaker 1: that we're going to get G in here, and he
- 53:51Speaker 1: doesn't know it yet. But one of the things that
- 53:56Speaker 1: I'm going to be discussing with G tomorrow is that
- 54:04Speaker 1: Walmart's logo got its first facelift in nearly twenty years.
- 54:16Speaker 1: The new logo redesigned logo inspired by founder Sam Walton's
- 54:25Speaker 1: old trucker hat. Tomorrow, I am going to bring this
- 54:33Speaker 1: up with G and I'm going to show you this
- 54:41Speaker 1: new Walmart logo, and I'm going to try so hard,
- 54:48Speaker 1: so hard not to laugh. I might even have to
- 54:55Speaker 1: take a little something so that I don't laugh. Tomorrow.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm going to do, but we'll
- 55:02Speaker 1: have some fun. I promise you, Dwayne, make sure you're
- 55:07Speaker 1: listening tomorrow morning. You tuned in Penny, Good morning, Glenn,
- 55:13Speaker 1: top of it to you and Rebecca. Last night we
- 55:22Speaker 1: watched the Berry City Council meeting from January thirteenth. I
- 55:28Speaker 1: would have attended it, or I would have attended if
- 55:34Speaker 1: it was published and advertised. Glenn, thanks for the recipe,
- 55:44Speaker 1: concoction of hundreds of lemons, garlic, bulbs, cayenne pepper, ginger, tequila,
- 55:58Speaker 1: and everything else that you made. Make right here.
- 56:09Speaker 8: Oh see you tomorrow, everybody, God willing, m m m.
- 57:01Speaker 5: M m M M R Camp, many people, many people,
- 57:16Speaker 5: paper man, and as time at time, did it put
- 57:32Speaker 5: it it?
- 57:36Speaker 8: Did it put it it?
- 57:41Speaker 5: Did it? Puts it
