- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Success by the Book Podcast, the place where Christians who want to experience the extravagant goodness of God in all areas of their lives come from mentorship.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: I am your host, Dr.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Una, and I'll be unpacking the secrets I have learned from the Word of God over the last two decades.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Let's dive in.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: We are gonna do something so amazing today, and here's the deal.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: I have been married for 20 years, raising four kids.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: I run five companies, I co-pastor a church with my husband.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: I am a serial entrepreneur and a serial YouTuber.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: And I live a life that literally touches the world.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: And one of the most profitable things I do as a person this busy, this accomplished by the grace of God, and all of that, one of the most profitable things I do is I go to church.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I go to church.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: This is what I do.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Church is not some religious thing I do to get spiritual brownie points.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Church is not something I do because that's the cool thing to do as a Christian.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Something, it's something that I place so much value on.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: And when I see Satan try to trick Christians into, you know, you hear people say, I do God, but I don't do church.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I've been hurt by the church, they're fake churches or whatever.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: I understand that it's a trick, carefully plotted by the enemy, to keep you away from one of the most powerful things you'll ever do, which is be somebody who is plugged in and goes regularly to church.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Now, I I will say that I didn't start off knowing all of this.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: When I started off, I was a pastor's wife.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: Like, yes, I was, I, you know, I got saved and committed to God in my final year of medical school.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: So my final year of medical school, sorry going to church here and there.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, but not too too long after that, I got married to a pastor.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: So my husband is a pastor.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And so it kind of builds this, you know, like consistency in me.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Because what am I gonna do?
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm gonna chill at home, and then when he comes back home from preaching, I'm like, yeah, you know, like today I was, I didn't feel like it.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Like I had in built accountability, granted, right?
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: But I want to show you the difference going to church can make for you.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Now, before we get into that, I want to say that as every Christian, everyone who's a Christian here, I want to invite you to be somebody who is super savvy.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: The Bible calls Satan many things, the Bible did not call Satan a fool, and Satan is a thief, and no thief goes somewhere to steal when there's nothing valuable.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: So when you see something that's been made controversial and all of those stuff in the in the body that lines up with the word of God, understand that the thief has come to steal.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Okay, Satan has he he he has one ministry, and then that ministry has three assignments to steal, kill, and destroy.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: He doesn't have anything else to give.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: So when you see him constantly going after something that is recommended in the Bible, then you want to go like, okay, I see he's coming for this because it's really good for me, and I'm going to go in the opposite direction.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go all in.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: So let me give you examples.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Praying, especially praying in the spirits, will change your life forever.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: If you have not watched our video on five reasons why you should pray in tongues every day, the team will post it in the chat.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Grab it after this, go watch it, okay?
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: It will change your life forever.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: But guess what is one of the most controversial things in the church is praying in tongues.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Now it's not controversial for me, because I don't accept anything as controversial that's in the word of God.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: If it's in the word of God, I like it.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: It's not controversial for me.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: But look at the amount of controversy that is around it.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Why is that?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Because if Satan can just get Christians to not pray, especially not praying in tongues, he'll be good.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Do you know how wild it is that when you're praying in the spirit, the Bible says that in Acts chapter 2 that they prayed in tongues as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance?
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: So when you're praying in the spirit, that's the Holy Spirit giving you the words of God, which are literally according to the will of God.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And we know when we pray prayers according to the will of God, the prayers get answered.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And Satan doesn't even know what you're saying.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: So he doesn't know what you're saying, they're really powerful, they're in line with the will of God, they're going to get answered.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: If you were Satan, will you not stop you from praying in tongues?
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: So he's doing his job.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: My job is not to side with him.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: So if you look at praying, especially praying in the spirit, you'll see a lot of controversy.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Controversy, air quotes.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: If you look at giving, um, all those pastors, what they want is your money, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Why so much controversy?
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Because it's given to you for your good.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: The Bible says give and it would be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: If you look all through the scriptures, they were all the mighty men were all givers.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: They were all givers, they all paid tithe, they did all of that, and we just choose to argue about stuff that doesn't make any sense.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Like, even if you're like, I don't, I don't know if tithing is for the old testament or the new testament.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Hello, Jesus talked about it.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said, Oh, you should do the weightier matters of the law and do the tithe.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: He didn't exclude it.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: And forget, like, let's even forget all of that for a second.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: If I say Jesus is my Lord and my master, master is not some cute word that means he's the person I talk to when I go to church.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Master means owner, which means he actually owns the 100%, and you're fighting about 10.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I digress.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: But the point is, so much controversy.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Because it's so powerful.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: I have used the principle of giving to transform my life like forever.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Um, I did a video talking about my two super habits.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Um, Tim, if you want to pull that as well, I'm two super habits that have made me who I am.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Number one is praying in the spirit, number two is giving.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Two very, very, very, very, very controversial for them, not for me.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Because if in the word of God, it's not controversial for me.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: So, in the same way, we have these ideologies.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I do Jesus, I don't do church.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: What does that even mean?
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Like when you stop to think about it, it makes no sense.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Like, I love Jesus, but I don't like the church who is his bride.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Like, that's like you watching walking up to my husband and say, I really love you, I hate Dr.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Una.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: It will not go well for you.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: It will not turn out well for you, right?
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: So we can't say we love Jesus and we don't love the church.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: And Jesus, I mean, in the word of God, he said, Don't forsake the assembling of yourselves together.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: And you're like, I know the word of God says it, but no, no, there's so much to be had out of building that relationship and going to church.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Going to church is not this random, spiritual, boring thing that doesn't have any impact.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: And so today, I'm not just gonna give you scriptures, I'm going to tell you stories from my own life and the difference that being in church has made for me.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm a be in church kind of girl because I'm telling you, even when I think about the five companies that I run, one of the most profitable things I do as a serial entrepreneur is I go to church.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: One of the best things I do for my family is I go to church.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: One of the best things I do for my finances, I go to church.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: One of the best things I do for my health, I go to church.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: All right, so let me give you five things.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Five things.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: I'll see if I pull up five stories, but I just want this to settle in your heart once and for all.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: And I want you to love the body of Christ.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: I want you to love, love being part of a church.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: And I'll show you how to interact in a church properly and all of that.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, will it change your life?
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna talk about my examples, which will be to my church specifically.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Now, you may hear it, you're like, I wish my church was like that.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: No, no, no two churches are the same, the same way, no two families are the same.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Some families, some families are very strong in certain things and not so strong in other things.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: And so, you've, if I came to your church, I'll be like, wow, we don't do that.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: You come to my church, you're like, wow, we don't do that.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: It's about are we doing things according to the word of God?
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: And do we have a pastor who is a shepherd who loves us and will give his life for us?
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Will teach us, will teach us, help us grow in wisdom, growing understanding, growing the ways of God, growing our capacity to do the work of the ministry and everything.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: That's what it's about.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And someone else may say, Well, people hurt me in church.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: Let's settle this once and for all, okay?
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: Do you know?
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you, if you are in a church and nobody has hurt you, you have not been in that church long enough.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: You have not been in that church long enough because let's look at it.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: If I ask you, has your father ever hurt you?
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: The answer is yes.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Has your mother hurt you?
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: The answer is yes.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: Have your siblings hurt you?
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Your answer is yes.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: You have your children hurt you, the answer is yes.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Has your has your boss hurt you?
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: The answer is yes.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Have your co-workers hurt you?
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: The answer is yes.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Why in the world?
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Would you think you go into a church and then now there's all these angels?
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: It's not angels that come to church that you see, it is people, and people do what people have always done people things.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: People love people, people are good for people, and people hurt people.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: People hurt people.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna say this in the most loving way I know how.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Get over it.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: It's like, come on, come on, and if you think about it, you've hurt people too.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: In fact, this is the way my pastor says it.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: He says, if there is a perfect church where people don't hurt people, and you go there, all of a sudden it becomes imperfect because you imperfect.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: So let's get over it.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: Like, this is this is not a thing.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: I went to that church and somebody hurt me.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: What?
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: What are you talking about?
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Your whole life people have been hurting you because people are people and people do peoply things, and people are construction sites, and there'll always be construction sites, there'll always be work in progress.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: Always, always, always, always get over it.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Get over it.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Do you say, oh, my last name is no longer Unachuku because somebody in my family hurt me?
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Like, how many of you changed your name because somebody made you mad?
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: What are we talking about?
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: The the the church is like a hospital.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: It's people who need stuff, people who need transformation, people who need to change, who come there.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Of course they're gonna hurt you, and of course you're gonna hurt them.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you, because I sit on the other side of the veil.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: While we're so busy going, like what that person did to me.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: You know how many of you have hurt people in church?
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: You know how many of you have hurt your pastors, you know how many of your pastor bled and did everything and just walked up and did all the random things, and he had to still sit there and do his job, what God called him to do.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: You hurt people too.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Get over it.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Let's let's look at five things.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: I want to give you five things today, okay?
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: And I pray, I pray, Lord, help us that we'll have a proper um perception of your church and what you do with us because the church is a blessing, it's such a gift.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Maybe I should even start from there.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna pull my phone so I can read this from a different translation.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Ephesians chapter four, because we have to understand this stuff.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Ephesians chapter four.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna verse 11, and I'm gonna read that from the New Living Translation.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: So pay attention to this, okay?
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: All right, okay.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Now, these are the gifts that Christ gave to the church.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: So Christ gave gifts to the church.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Now let's see what these gifts are.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's see.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: All right, it says the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: Your pastor is a gift given by Jesus Christ to you.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: It's a gift.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: Now, we live in a generation where people are on social media talking bad mouthing pastors doing all of that stuff and all.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: You'll never find me as part first.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: I didn't call them.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: But the the re the honor, the respect, the gratitude to God for the gift He's given is missing from so many.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: All right, so let's look at this.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Now, what are five things that happened?
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: So I started going to church um faithfully, faithfully-ish in the beginning, then faithfully for real, in from April of 2020.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: So this is the 26th year.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: The 26th year, two over two and a half decades.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: What difference has this made in my life?
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: So the first thing it did is that it trained me spiritually to reign, to have dominion, to be at the top, to be the head and not the tail, to be a sign and a wonder.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Being in church trained me spiritually to reign.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: And this is the deal.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: It it trained me to have a lifestyle of breakthroughs.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Like breakthroughs, my default setting.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Moving forward, default setting.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Making progress, default setting.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Being a sign and a wonder, a default setting.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Now, how did church train me to do this?
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: You guys have heard me read this over and over again, but I'm still gonna read it again.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: Isaiah chapter 60.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: I want to show you something.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: This is so important that you understand this.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Isaiah chapter 60 from verse 1.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: It says, Arise.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: It says, shine, for your light has come.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: So I should arise and shine because my light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon me.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: What that means is I cannot shine because I don't shine because I generate light.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: I shine because God gives me light.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: I don't shine because there's light on the inside of me.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: I shine because God gives me light.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: What that means is if I am going to shine, if I'm going to be a sign of wonder, and if you read to verse 3, it says, Gentiles will come to your light, kings will come to the brightness of your rising.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: If that's going to be true for me, it will be because I connect deeply with the person who is the source of the light.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: I am not the source of the light.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: So in my office here, I have multiple lights.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: So I have bulbs.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: Now I can make the bulb shine, but for the bulb to shine, I have to turn off on a switch to connect it with the source of power.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Even though the bulb can shine, it can't generate the shine.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: It has to connect to a source to get the power to shine.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: In the same way, the way we are called to shine as Christians, the way we're called to be signs and wonders, be the head and not the tail, above only and up beneath, like that level, we can't do that level by our power and might.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: We don't have the power.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: We don't have the light.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: It comes from God.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: So how does the church train us spiritually for dominion?
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: It does that by training us to pray, training us to worship, training us in the word, training us to obey.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Because as we do these things, the bulb can now shine.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: The bulb can now shine.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: My light can now shine because I'm connected to the source.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: How many of you here?
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: I'm looking for my cousins.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: You had a day where you wanted to pray, and you're like, oh my goodness, I am going to pray for two hours today.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: And you prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: You're like, my goodness, and prayed.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Only to find out all that prayer was 10 minutes long.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: Because you looked at the clock like, Woof, we must have burned the first 30 minutes.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: No, no, it was 10 minutes.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Because it goes against every part of your human nature and every part of your flesh to pray.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: If you're going to be a person of prayer, you're going to be trained in prayer, you're going to be stretched in prayer.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: You're going to be held accountable to pray.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, you're not just getting up like, woo-hoo, I think today's a good day to pray for three hours.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: That's not the way this works.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: So learn to pray, learn to worship, learn to read the word, right?
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: So you will pray.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, will you pray?
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: But this is the thing, okay?
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: I've told you guys the story many times of how, you know, one of the one of the years in my business, God is like, oh yeah, you I want you to do a million in revenue.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: The year before I'd done$260,000 in revenue.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: I was like, Lord, I don't know how it happens in heaven.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: But typically on this side of eternity, on and on this planet, people don't go from 260 to a million.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, there are many numbers before a million.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And eventually, so he told me that the year before he wanted me to make to make the million.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: So this was 2021, 2021 or so.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: And so January, nope.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: February, nope, March, nope.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: So each of these months, I did um altogether, I did 120,000.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I was like, I know how to do math.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: 120,000 per quarter for four quarters is 480,000.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: It's not even up to half a million.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Like, this is not the pathway to half a million.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: And I remember, you know, somebody ticked me off by the kind of wins they were creating in their business.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: Not ticked me off in a competitive way, but I was like, my goodness, let me just figure this out.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: What was the strategy I used?
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: I wasn't, I was in Miami, and so I went to the beach.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: I was in a hotel on the beach.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: So I went to the beach and I was like, I am going to be here and I'm going to pray in the spirit till I figure out how I can take this business from$260,000 to a million in revenue.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: And I stayed there first 30 minutes, no answer.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: First hour, no answer.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: First 90 minutes, no answer.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: First two hours, no answer.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Two out two and a half hours, no answer.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Three hours.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: And then God downloaded the strategy and the tenacity to pull it off and the boldness to pull it off because he asked me to raise my prices and all the stuff.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: We worked it, worked it out.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Where did I come from?
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Three hours of praying in the spirit.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn to burn three hours in prayer?
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: In church.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: But you know what happened at the end of that year?
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: We crossed the million in revenue.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: We crossed the million in revenue.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: What was the trigger point?
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Three hours of praying in the spirit.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn how to do it?
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: In church.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: So, in the same way, maybe there's a crisis that comes up.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: You have tenacity to pray, you have studied the word, you know what to declare.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: All of these things.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: You've practiced obedience and practice obedience and practice obedience that your life is now a well-watered garden.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Because the word says in in Psalm 37, verse 4, it says, Delight yourself in the Lord, and He'll grant you the desires of your heart.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: So you have this life that is just beautiful.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Because you are learning these things in church.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: So you know, like, okay, let me read the scripture here, okay?
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: So Psalm 119.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: I want to show you because going to church is not a waste of time.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Stop, oh, these church people.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Church people are the head and not the tail.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Church people are above only and not beneath.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Church people are rise and shine.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Gentiles come to their light.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Kings come to the brightness of our rising.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: When they say, Oh, poor as a church rat, that is alive from the pit of hell.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: What does that even mean?
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: We are like our father Abraham.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Abraham was rich, he had multiple streams of income.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Who are you talking to?
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: Psalm 119.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna read verse 97 to verse 100.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: Pay attention because, like you're here and you're drilling in the word, and you go to church and your pastor is teaching the word and all of this thing.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: It's not a waste of your time.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: It's not, yeah, let me just do this.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: I'll be a good Christian.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: No, okay.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, how I love your law.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: This is David talking.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: It is my meditation all the day.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: You through your commandments make me wiser than my enemies.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: People who go to church, get the word, obey the word.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: What are they wiser than their enemies?
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, for they are ever with me.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: I have more understanding than all my teachers.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Superior intelligence that even the experts do not have.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Where does it come from?
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: The word.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: So when they're preaching the word and they're preaching the word and telling you to read and all of that stuff, don't treat it casually.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: You are in school.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: This is the way I describe it.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: The church is God's quote unquote Harvard.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: The church is God's Harvard.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: You know how Harvard creates like these great professionals?
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: The church creates great people.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Great people.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Great people who are signs and wonders.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Great people who go deep in God.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Great people who reflect the glory of God.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Great people who aggressively advance God's kingdom agenda, which is good.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Great people who manifest the blessing of all nine areas of their lives.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: This is who this is the product of God's Harvard, of God's church.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: For I have more understanding than all my teachers for your testimonies or my meditation.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: I understand more than the ancients, people with experience and all of that.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: How?
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Because I keep your precepts.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: I obey.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: I learn.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: I obey.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: So you're not wasting your time.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: You're not wasting your time.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: So what is your part to play?
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Because every when listen, listen, let me say this here.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: This is Very important.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: People don't all come to church and have the same outcome.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: There are people who have been in church for as long as I can, I have, and they don't have this experience because the way they showed up is different.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Now, there are people who have probably much bigger results than I do because the way I show up is not the way they show up.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: We need to learn how to take full advantage and engage with the school God has given us.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: If you go to Harvard, you don't get to make it your own adventure.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: It is not choose your own adventure.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: There are criteria for thriving in Harvard.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: You got to go to class.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: When there's group discussion, you need to be part of the group discussion.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: And when it's our when we have cell groups and small groups and house fellowships, whatever they're called, life groups, we're like, I don't do that.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: You can't do that in Harvard.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: In Harvard, part of the agreement is that you will engage with your small group and do all the work you guys do.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: You don't get to choose not to be in a small group.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: It's in church we do that.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: And if you do that, you can't get the result because you're not a good student.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Now we observe we don't judge, so please don't misunderstand me and say, think I'm telling you you're bad.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: You're not bad.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: God in his mercy is bringing his word so we can all learn how to interact properly with our churches.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: We have to learn that.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: So what is my part?
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: If I want to be trained for reigning, to be trained for dominion, to be trained to be the head and not the tail.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: You gotta engage.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: You gotta when it's time for the word, lean in.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: When it's time for worship, nobody made you the supervisor of the worship team.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: Why is she why is she talking like that?
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: Why she sing this song?
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: I like this song better.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Maybe you should be in the worship team.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, so engage in the worship.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Worship your God when it's time to pray.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: I see people it's time to pray.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: They're in the hallway, talking, laughing.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: About what?
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: This is your opportunity to grow in capacity, and you're wasting it.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: You learn things and you can obey them because it's in the process of obedience.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Like knowledge comes your way, you process it through contemplation, reflection, and all of that, and then you obey to process it to wisdom.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: And then you don't do you don't do anything with what you learn.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: How are you gonna grow in wisdom?
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: And you know, we always say here, like Jesus, we grow in wisdom and stature and favor God and favor people.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: One of the ways you gotta listen.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Do you remember what Jesus was doing?
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: Jesus went to the temple, they were teaching, he was listening, he was asking questions, he was doing all this stuff.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: You gotta engage and you gotta practice.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: You gotta engage and you gotta practice.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: So you learn how to pray, you go home and pray.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: You learn how to worship, you go home and worship.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: You learn you in class, you in school, you in Harvard, you're in the best Harvard in the world.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: After today, you're going to say, Oh, one of the most profitable things I do in this life of mine is I go to church.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: So that's number one.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: We're still at number one.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, but number one already took us from 260,000 to a million.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: It's good.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: And it's not just business, it's anything.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: It's anything.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: The second thing that happened to me, because I, you know, I've gone to church every week for 26 years, is that I am able to believe and accomplish the impossible.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Believe and accomplish the, you know, when COVID hit, when COVID hit, there's so many private practices that just like, oh, we're gonna go on vacuum, we're gonna close the office for you know, two weeks, three weeks.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: We don't know what this thing is, all that.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: There was so much fear, you could feel the fear.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: Like Isaiah chapter 60.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: For some reason, that scripture always resonated in my heart, but I didn't understand what it meant.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: I'm like, Lord, this makes no sense.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: What do you mean darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the people?
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: I had never seen it, I didn't know it was a thing till the whole world shut down, and you could feel the fear, you can feel the terror.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: Like, so yes, darkness did cover the entire earth, and there was gross darkness over the people.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh, it's so funny what God will do.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: The first time that scripture registered in my spirit, I was in high school.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: You I've told you guys a story of how somebody came, I was bragging that he finished reading the Bible in six months, and just to be competitive for no reason, I was like, Oh, I'll read it in three.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: I was not a Christian, like I didn't go to church, I didn't do any of these things, I didn't want to read it to know God.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: I didn't want any, I was just like, I'm gonna do it in three.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: And I did it in three.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: I mean, and till today, I wonder, I was like, you could have not read it and lied about it.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: Like, why in the world?
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: But I read it.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: In that it was then in high school, I was like, darkness will cover the earth.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Deep time, like, why would I remember scripture from how from high school?
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: But God in his faithfulness knew that many, many years later there'll be a pandemic, and he wanted me to be ready for it.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: That's the goodness of God.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: Okay, anyway.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: So I remember then, I was like, I don't know what this pandemic is, I don't know what's going on here, but I know I'm going to thrive.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Where did I did develop that animal boldness, which we call it?
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: Like, what in the world?
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: I learned it in church.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'll give you an example.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, so COVID hits, right?
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, COVID hits.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: And actually, no, not COVID.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: We had been in a building, it was 13,000 square feet, church building, 13,000 square feet.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: We had been there for a few years, and God told pastor, my husband, he said, it's time to build.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: It's it's time for you guys to buy your own building.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Now, our church was not at a size where you buy a building.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Do you understand what I mean?
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: And so God said, build a building.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: And he said, you know, um, hey, um, God said we should we should buy a building.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: I'm like, wow, okay, buy a building.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: But I've learned, like when I have doubt, I keep it to myself, you know, my contribution is not gonna be doubt.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, okay, yeah, okay, we'll buy a building.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: So then he said that God said the building we're going to buy is gonna be three million dollars.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Three million dollars could have been 350 gazillion million dollars.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: I was like, what?
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: Now, this conversation was going on, and then Pastor said, okay, so we're gonna start a building campaign.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: We started a building campaign with no building, no building whatsoever.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, started a building campaign, we're gonna raise$300,000, which would be the down payment for this building that was gonna be$3 million.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: And of the$300,000 we were going to give, so our family was going to give$100,000.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, so a third of whatever the amount was.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: This, I don't know.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: How do I describe how impossible this was?
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: This was so impossible.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: Like when he's when you hear me say, and he said we're gonna give$100,000, you would think we had$100,000 in the bank.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: We didn't have no hundred thousand in no bank.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Like I had no other bank.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: We don't have no thousand.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: So literally, he had a car, he had a Mercedes, um, with an S class or so, and he sold that.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: I think it came to$45,000.
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: So that's where$45,000 out of it came.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: I've told the story many times.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: How I was like, well, I don't have a Mercedes to sell and stuff like that, but I had learned.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: I had learned how to do profitable one-day events.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: And so I was like, ooh, okay, let me let me go do this thing I've learned.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: I was like, Lord, if you bless me and give me, you know, a launch where I can make$40,000, then I can I can add that, right?
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: Like to what we're giving.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: And so that became, get this, that became the first entree MD life for a business I run that now has made millions and millions and millions and millions of dollars, has been on the Inc.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: 5000 list of fastest growing companies for three years in a row.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Where did that start from?
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, I have to give towards the building.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: That's right, that's what I mean by engage, right?
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, so so did that, so did all of the stuff we did, raised the money, and we started looking and looked everywhere, and there's no no building, like we couldn't find the building.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: And then, but he's going full speed ahead, full like full speed ahead, like there's no option.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: We either get the building or we get the building.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: And so finally, he hires this coach for something else.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: But the coach happens to know this other person who had a building that they didn't put on the market but was for sale.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Walked into the building, that was our building.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Now, the owners initially didn't want to sell, there was a lot of haggling, there's a lot, a lot of a lot of stuff, and then finally we get to okay, we're gonna do, we're gonna do the building.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: Okay, so we're talking, this is nine months in, okay, of constantly going full speed ahead, doing what was impossible.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: So like let me tell you how impossible it was.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: When he announced the building campaign, there were people who left church and never came back.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: People who are well-to-do, who were thinking, oh, you want to use me to fund your building project.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: That's how wild it was.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: Anyhow, okay, so we did all that.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: The day, two days before we were supposed to close, I think it was two days, or the yeah, two days before, three days before we were supposed to close, they had done the appraisal in the building, and the building did not appraise at the three million.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: So the bank, the way that works is if it doesn't appraise at 3 million, the bank will not give you a$3 million loan.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: So it appraised at less than the value, which means they were going to cover$2.7 million, and then we were going to need to come up with another$300,000.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: I mean you told, first of all, the$300,000 was impossible.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: And now, three days before closing, we need to come up with another$300,000.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: From where?
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, okay, so what are we gonna do?
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: And then Pastor says, well, he talked to God and God said to hold a praise service.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: So those of you in Dominicity, you remember this.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: So we had a we had a service, we came in and we praised God from the beginning of the service to the end of the service.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: We're talking wild praise, jumping, screaming, running around the building, all that.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: Who are these people?
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: People who need 300,000, people who need 300,000.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: And so we asked people to give, people gave.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: It didn't come anywhere close to what was needed.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: Do you know at the end of the day?
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: Because I was like, okay, so what are we gonna do?
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: So they go back to the to the to the owner, and like, okay, this is the appraisal, this is the amount.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: They're like, but they're not gonna sell it less than three million.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: And while we while they were there still talking, here goes the guy, pulls out his calculator, starts calculating things, calculate, calculate.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: His daughter was fighting him, like, no, no, no, no.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: You know, they they they were speaking their language, they're Chinese or so.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: And he then says, I will give you the 300,000.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Like it was it was a loan, right?
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: But we were gonna get a loan for three, like the whole amount.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: He gave us a loan, funded it by himself, and we closed that day.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: Like you need to find every emoji you can have, and we're gonna use that to celebrate God.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: So on that day, it was a Wednesday.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: Guess what happened?
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because the the prayer service was Sunday night.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: It was Wednesday.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: We closed on that building, our very own building, and we went from renting 13,000 square feet to owning 55,000 square feet.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: 55,000 square feet owned as directed by God.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: But do you see the because between what God told him, I think it was November, the year, so November 2018, like this is what needs to happen, and we closed on that building October of 2019.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: So this is not just one, you know, oh yeah, wouldn't he do it?
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: I said, No, I got to watch somebody, not I, like we as a church got to watch somebody hold on to God, stand with God, and pull off the impossible.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: It was nuts, and there's stuff that had like this that happened over and over and over and over again.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: So here's the deal: the Bible says in Proverbs 13:20, walk with the wise and become wise.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: Walk with people who do partner with God to do the impossible, and you will become a person who partners with God to do the impossible.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: That is exactly what happened to us.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: And so, watching that, you're like, in the family, so spiritual family, the family we come from, we do the impossible.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: Do you know what he did to our faith as the people watching him, as the people he took on this journey?
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: So when things happen, we're just like, no, we stand, we move through opposition.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: When you hear me talk about mowing obstacles down, that's where I got that stuff from.
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: So when people are like, so there's this whole narrative, right?
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: Physicians know what I'm talking about.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Where, oh, you know, you know, you can't you can't thrive in private practice anymore.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: You can't own this company, you can't do like I don't even hear that stuff.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't hear, I'm like, like, watch me.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: Because I have learned to believe and accomplish the impossible.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: So when people are like, oh, every business is going out of business during the pandemic, we grew.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: Okay, 2021, let me see, 20, 2021, we crossed a million in revenue.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: Those of you who know about the on-train the business school, it was launched in 2020.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: It was launched in 2020 when the whole world shut down.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: We launched a business school, and it's funny enough, it wasn't until years later, someone was like, When did the business school start?
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: I was saying in June of 2020.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: They're like, in during the pandemic?
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: And I thought about it, I was like, Oh, yeah, oh wow, yeah, during the pandemic.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: So being in church, that's what it does for you because you get to see faith projects being carried out, and you can then develop your own faith.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: So now you can use it in your family.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: Now you say, Oh, this child is lost.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: This child cannot be lost.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: And it's not just this example, every testimony that is shared, every story that is shared, every project that is carried out is all helping you build your faith.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: So it's not just this religious thing that I read.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: No, no, my faith is active for real life and real challenges.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, number three.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: So, what is my part?
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: My part is to observe.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: My part is to observe.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: Like when someone gives a testimony, pay attention.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: This is what happened.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: Wow, what did they do?
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: Wow, this is the project they can't.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: Wow, what did they do?
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: Pay attention, watch, watch.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: That's your part.
- 37:05SPEAKER_00: So you don't just show up in church casually, like, oh, I dare the pastor to bless me.
- 37:09SPEAKER_00: No, okay.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: Number three, prepared us.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: Being in church prepared me for trying times ahead of time.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Like when the pandemic happened, I remember thinking, this is so interesting.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: It's as if God, and this is so ridiculous that I'll say this, right?
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: It was as if God knew there'll be a pandemic and he got us ready ahead of time, which is silly.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: Of course, he knew there was a pandemic.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: But let me tell you the two series that Pastor taught and taught and taught and taught before the pandemic became a thing.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: Number one was the power in the blood of Jesus.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: That how the blood of Jesus makes us exact.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: So using the story of the type and shadow of it in Egypt, when God was like, you know, when the plagues came and all the firstborns were gonna die.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: And it says, take the take a lamp, kill, kill the lamb, get the blood, use a hyssop like a plant, and apply the blood on the lintels and all that, and stay in the house.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: Because the spirit of death is gonna go through the land of Egypt, gonna go through the land of Egypt.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: And if anywhere I see the blood, I will I will pass over you, meaning I'll be a covering over you so the spirit of death can get you.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: So by the time the pandemic came, our faith in the blood was so high, so high at the peak of the pandemic, our people were healthy, our people were preserved, we didn't lose anybody to the pandemic, none of that stuff.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: Because we had a pastor who was who God spoke to to equip his people, build up their faith, and get them ready with exactly what they need to thrive during the pandemic.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, so he taught us on the blood.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: That was one thing.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: The second thing he taught us about was finances.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: So remember, it was health and finances.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: We were ready for both.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: We were ready for both of them.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: So when the pandemic came, we're like, oh, well, we attended class, we ready for you.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: If you're gonna be a doctor, they teach about everything before you become a doctor.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: In the same way, when the challenges are gonna come, and like the pandemic was a challenge for everybody, right?
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: But in the same way, something's gonna happen in your family, and God starts releasing words in church, connecting you with people, doing all of these things.
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: So by the time the challenge comes, you're ready.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: We can't think that we're smarter than God.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: If we know, if I know I'm going, okay, I was gonna say, if I know I'm gonna have a child, please I'm not the factory are locked down forever.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm not gonna have, but if somebody's gonna have a child, if somebody's gonna have a child, they have enough sense to create a nursery, they have enough sense to buy clothes, they have enough sense to do all of these things, and we think that challenges will come our way and God will not have prepared us, of course he will, of course he will.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: So, what does that mean?
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: Listen to me.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: It means that you must attend class.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: Like when you miss, when you have this habit of I don't, you know, I go to church when I like and all that.
- 40:13SPEAKER_00: God sends a word for his people to get them ready.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: He doesn't let you experience something without creating a way out.
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: So, how do you engage with this?
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: You go to class, stop missing class, stop missing services.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're out of town on a business trip or whatever, you have to miss like yeah, but the thing that you know, I don't feel it today.
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, okay.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: Let me read you a scripture, let me read you a scripture God's plan for pastors for you.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: He said in Hosea chapter 12 pay attention to this now.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: You know that Moses brought the people of Israel out of Egypt, right?
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: But listen to this verse 13 it says, by a prophet, the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, number one, and by a prophet, he was preserved.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: So he brought them out of Egypt by a prophet, he preserved them by a prophet.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: So, what did our pastor do for us during the pandemic?
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: He preserved, he was the instrument God used to preserve us, taught us about the blood, taught us about what to do and find, taught us about all of these things.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: So, in the middle of a global crisis, we were prepared.
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: We were prepared and we were preserved.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: Stop missing class, okay?
- 41:42SPEAKER_00: You're robbing yourself.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: You're robbing yourself.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: And I've been there, so let me look for my cousins one more time.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: You're here, and it was time to go to church.
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden, you became very tired.
- 41:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, very tired.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: Start having a, you know, like a headache, start feeling warm, like you had a little bit of a fever, you know.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: You're just like, oh, I don't feel good.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: And you said self-I you rest, you're like, okay, I'll rest.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: And service was supposed to be from 10 to 12, and 12 o'clock, you were fine.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Your strength came back, the headache disappeared, the fever disappeared.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: Because after today, you need to recognize that as the trick of the enemy and stop falling for it.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: Satan will never want you to go to church to get the word, to go and pray, to go and encounter God in worship.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: He will stop you every opportunity he has.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: So when you start feeling some kind of way, girl, get in the car, go to church.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: Number four.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: Number four.
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: Now, this is gonna be so fun for you.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: What else happened to me going to church every week for 26 years?
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: I acquired multi-million dollar skills.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: Listen to me.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: I acquired multimillion dollar skills.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: I acquired multimillion dollar skills.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: Pay attention to me because this is one people miss all the time.
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: All the time.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: Come to church.
- 43:11SPEAKER_00: I don't do people, I don't want people up in my business.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: So before the service is over, you've put you, you've carried your Bible, carried your purse, you out the door.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: Pay attention.
- 43:25SPEAKER_00: I am phenomenal at coaching.
- 43:31SPEAKER_00: I am phenomenal at helping people go from one state to the other.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: It is a zone of genius for me.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: Do you know where I learned it?
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: I learned it in church.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: Discipling people.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: I learned it in church.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: When you have somebody who comes all their lives, they've been in a gang, they didn't complete high school, they can't even really speak proper English, and all of this stuff, and God tells you that.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: This person I made them to be the head and not the tail.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: That this person is very valuable in my eyes, that this person has a calling and a destiny.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: And you have to stand with that person, pray with that person, teach that person, give them the gift of accountability to come to church, show them how to function the ways of God.
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: And that person now goes from that to a sign and a wonder.
- 44:21SPEAKER_00: And you do it over and over and over and over.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: Guess what you end up with?
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: The ability to be a person who is a catalyst.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: You can take people from here to there.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn it?
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: In church.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: That's why I learned it.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: Now I now run a business where people come to my business and they're like, I don't know if I can be an entrepreneur.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: I like, girl, let's go.
- 44:48SPEAKER_00: And then they go from, I don't know if I can do this, to now running six-figure businesses, seven-figure businesses, multi-seven-figure businesses, eight-figure businesses.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: And many of them make this statement.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: They're like, I didn't believe in myself, but I believed in Dr.
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: Una's belief in me.
- 45:07SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn how to believe in people?
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: I learned it in church.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: I learned it from Pastor Steve because we I call Pastor Steve Pastor Steve the Merciful.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: Because when I started off, I was like, you know, like I was working on my loving people.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: I was like, Pastor, why are you still talking to this person?
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: They want a good whatever they want to do with their lives, let them do it.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: It's their problem.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: But he'll stand with a person and fight for the person and train the person and teach the person and do everything he can to see people win.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: So under him, I have to disciple people, I have to pastor people, I have to look after people.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: And I did it and did it and did it.
- 45:45SPEAKER_00: And now I run a multi-million dollar company with the same skill I learned in church.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: When you run away from serving in church, you only hurting yourself.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, I don't know, nobody use my head, blah, blah, blah.
- 45:59SPEAKER_00: Keep your head.
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: Keep it.
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: You guys know I love you, right?
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 46:05SPEAKER_00: So I learned that in church.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn how to host profitable events?
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: Do you know, and if anybody's in the event industry, you can say to it, in the event industry, the expectation is that when you do an event, you lose money on the event.
- 46:21SPEAKER_00: Now you may make money like from maybe extra back end sales or whatever, but you lose money.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: Worst case scenario, like best case scenario, you break even, but it's a money, like they lose money on events.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: I have never lost money on an event.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: It's not even a thought.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: It's later on I learned that that's what happens in the industry.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: Well, I like I ain't part of that industry then.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: I have never lost money on an event.
- 46:45SPEAKER_00: By the time the event starts, it's already profitable.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: Like before it starts, it's already profitable.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: I have never lost money.
- 46:51SPEAKER_00: Why is that?
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: Because if we in church we host events, and we have to host events in the most efficient and effective way that we can.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: Because we don't charge for our events.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: So we have done the muscle of hosting this retreat, hosting that retreat, hosting camp meeting, and all of that stuff.
- 47:10SPEAKER_00: And remember, we call it church service, but it's two events a week.
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: Every Friday we have an event, every Sunday we have an event.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: So you deploy yourself in marketing for the events, getting people in.
- 47:21SPEAKER_00: You deploy yourself in helping people have a transformational experience, experience.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: You deploy, you deploy all of these things.
- 47:28SPEAKER_00: But when I go to the marketplace now, when I do events, they are extremely profitable and extremely transformational.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: Like the last one I did, we had an event for the entrepreneur business school, um, a vision retreat.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: So they were with us for three days in San Diego.
- 47:47SPEAKER_00: Our and and again, where did I learn that if I have done an event before the next one should be my best month yet?
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: It must be.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: It's from Proverbs 4.18.
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn that?
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: In church.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: The path of the just shines brighter and brighter.
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: I can never have a previous event that was better than my current event.
- 48:05unknown: Never.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: Never.
- 48:08SPEAKER_00: So of course the intent was now this is going to be our best one yet.
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: And client after client after client, they're like Dr.
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: Una, you have outdone yourself.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: You and your team, you have outdone yourself.
- 48:18SPEAKER_00: Where did we learn to do that?
- 48:20SPEAKER_00: Where did we learn to build that capacity?
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: So it's me, it's Makita.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: We we do events every every week, every week we're doing events.
- 48:27SPEAKER_00: Every week we're doing events.
- 48:28SPEAKER_00: So guess what we did?
- 48:29SPEAKER_00: We just did another event.
- 48:31SPEAKER_00: And so they rated it 9.6 out of 10 stars.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: Doctors from all over US and Canada, 9.6 out of 10 stars.
- 48:44SPEAKER_00: You guys see that?
- 48:46unknown: Okay.
- 48:49SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn transformational speaking?
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: In church.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Because in church, you don't stand before God's people to say tales by moonlight.
- 48:59SPEAKER_00: You have to give them the word, you have to break it down in a way they can understand it, break it down in such a way that they can take action on it and change their lives and obey the word of God and all of those things.
- 49:10SPEAKER_00: So when I show up in my business, I don't show up to give fluff.
- 49:14SPEAKER_00: I don't show up to just show up bells and whiz.
- 49:16SPEAKER_00: I don't do any of that.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: So if you listen to my podcast, your life must change.
- 49:21SPEAKER_00: If you come to my events, your life must change.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: If you are in my pro, if you're in the on-trained business school, your life must change.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: Transformational speaking.
- 49:32SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn to do big data for small organizations?
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: In church.
- 49:36SPEAKER_00: We had our camp meeting.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: We had our camp meeting um ear earlier this year, had 2,800, almost 3,000 people in attendance.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: But this time we're like, okay, we need to be able to get the data so we can make data-driven decisions for camp meeting next year.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: So, you know, my brother had all these dashboards built and all these things.
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: We did that, we said, okay, but in order to do that, we have to get accurate data from the camp meeting.
- 50:00SPEAKER_00: I was like, okay, so we have to have a different kind of check-in system because we need to get all the data.
- 50:04SPEAKER_00: So we started building all that stuff out, started doing that, built the system.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: The system worked like a well-oiled machine.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: It was a thing of beauty.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: I had never done that before.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: First time I did that was a camp meeting.
- 50:15SPEAKER_00: Guess what happened?
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: After that, my mind had expanded in a way it could never recover from.
- 50:22SPEAKER_00: So guess what happened?
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: I took the same thinking into my business.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: And my business is on track to be a tech first company.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: I want you to think I'm a physician.
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: I'm a doctor.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: I'm not a tech guy.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: But in the process of that, oh, I can I I can make I can make a trained developer, I can give him a run for his money.
- 50:47SPEAKER_00: It's kind of crazy if you think about it.
- 50:50SPEAKER_00: But where did all of that?
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: So now I make data-driven decisions.
- 50:54SPEAKER_00: Now I pull all kinds, like if you hear me giving data and stats on my company, you think like you're like, where did all this come from?
- 51:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that's how we roll now.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: And it's like, watch out.
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: Where did all of that come from?
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: It came from serving.
- 51:08SPEAKER_00: Listen to me.
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: Do not be a benchwarmer in church.
- 51:12SPEAKER_00: If you're a bench warmer in church, you're hurting yourself.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: Find problems in church, not to complain about, but something to tackle.
- 51:20SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, let's tackle this, let's tackle that.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: You see a department work, tackle the you're in a department, there are challenges, tackle it.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: You're in the department, set a goal.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: How can we be 10 times better?
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: In the process of serving and deploying yourself at the highest level, you will acquire multi-million dollar skills.
- 51:40SPEAKER_00: You will.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: You will you do that in God's house, you have a harvest in your house.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: That's the way it works.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: David went to said, I will build you a house.
- 51:49SPEAKER_00: God said, You build me a house, I'll build you a house, I'll build you an everlasting dynasty of kings.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: So God so honored that Jesus had to come as a son of David so God could keep his promise to David.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: So don't be diligent, but your diligence is not seen in the house of God.
- 52:09SPEAKER_00: Like people should look in the church and see your fingerprints.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: Like this was an issue.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: This we used to function at this level, but here we function at this level because this person showed up and deployed.
- 52:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, I deploy in the house of God, it's one of the most profitable things I do.
- 52:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, one of the most profitable things I do.
- 52:27SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: So deploy with your strength, deploy with your energy.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: There are projects in the kingdom, fund them with your money.
- 52:36SPEAKER_00: Yes, fund them.
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, blow your mind.
- 52:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's go.
- 52:43SPEAKER_00: Let's go, let's go.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: Serve.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: So with your time, with your efforts, with your experience, with your expertise, with your pocketbook, serve with all of it.
- 52:51SPEAKER_00: Like partner, serve.
- 52:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, you got it.
- 52:55SPEAKER_00: Serve because Dr.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: is getting too excited.
- 52:57SPEAKER_00: Number five.
- 52:58SPEAKER_00: Number five.
- 53:00SPEAKER_00: Serving being in church, showing up in church every week for 26 years has put me in a position where I live a life of global impact.
- 53:09SPEAKER_00: And I'll give you an example.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: Well, let me let me give you two examples.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: And this comes from partnering with your pastor, with the ministry, partnering in ministry with your pastor.
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: See, the same way it is ridiculous to think that a family, the only effort in a family should come from mother and father, and the children just sit around and just enjoy all the benefits all their lives, is stupid.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: It's ridiculous.
- 53:35SPEAKER_00: That's not the way the world works.
- 53:37SPEAKER_00: In the same way, in the world, in the kingdom of God, in the kingdom of God, it's not just the pastor and that the people just sit and they're consumers.
- 53:45SPEAKER_00: We're not consumers.
- 53:47SPEAKER_00: We're not consumers.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: We're too creative to only be consumers.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: We're too loaded to only be consumers.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: The whole body grows by that which every joint supplies.
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: There is a supply when God puts you into church, there's something that will be given to you, and there's something you will give.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: That's the way it works.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: It's always giving and receiving.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: So if you're in church and you're primarily a giver, I want to invite you to change that and go into giving and receiving.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: So let me show you something.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: Now, somebody may think, oh, Dr.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: Una wanted to have a ministry.
- 54:24SPEAKER_00: And so she started a morning prayer and she wanted to have a ministry.
- 54:27SPEAKER_00: So she started a YouTube channel.
- 54:31SPEAKER_00: Almost everything you see me do is an offshoot of how can I help the church move forward?
- 54:38SPEAKER_00: Almost everything.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: Almost everything.
- 54:40SPEAKER_00: Like I told you about on train.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the big jump and all that stuff was I need to, I need to raise the down payment for this building.
- 54:47SPEAKER_00: My part of it.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Pay attention to this.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: How did a rise and shine start?
- 54:53SPEAKER_00: Now, a rise and shine is a prayer meeting we've done every day for six years, six and a half years almost at this point.
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: And if you're not a part of it, oh my goodness, come join us.
- 55:01SPEAKER_00: Come join us, come join us for 90 days.
- 55:04SPEAKER_00: And if your life is just the same, then go away.
- 55:06SPEAKER_00: And if you're here and you've been in a rise and shine for a while, let the people know what it's like.
- 55:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 55:11SPEAKER_00: So now we have like when we look at it, it's about a thousand people who join us live and on the replay every single day.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: A thousand, sometimes 1,500.
- 55:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 55:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 55:20SPEAKER_00: Now pay attention to this.
- 55:21SPEAKER_00: So someone said, Oh, she has this prayer and prayer ministry and all of this stuff.
- 55:25SPEAKER_00: No, that's not what happened.
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: COVID hit.
- 55:28SPEAKER_00: We never closed, but people start coming, stop coming to a number of people stopped coming to church.
- 55:34SPEAKER_00: And then I was like, huh.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: I said, uh, there are people who only pray when they show up in church.
- 55:41SPEAKER_00: And if they if they're not coming to church, that means they're not praying.
- 55:43SPEAKER_00: If they're not praying, Satan is having a field day in their lives.
- 55:47SPEAKER_00: Oh, he's having the time of his life.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, okay, so what do we do so we can help our people?
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: Do you do you see what is happening here?
- 55:54SPEAKER_00: I'm like, our people are coming to church.
- 55:56SPEAKER_00: What do we do?
- 55:57SPEAKER_00: I was like, okay, they're not coming.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: So initially, what I did is I started hosting these Zoom meetings and we'll come, we'll read scripture, we'll do all of those things together to kind of hold the people.
- 56:06SPEAKER_00: That's how I was partnering with the church to hold the people.
- 56:09SPEAKER_00: And then one of those days, I was like, you know, maybe we should pray.
- 56:12SPEAKER_00: Maybe we should have a prayer meeting.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, and as soon as the words left my mouth, I knew I'd set myself up.
- 56:17SPEAKER_00: Because I was like, because I was thinking two weeks.
- 56:20SPEAKER_00: I was like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 56:21SPEAKER_00: I know, I know God.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: I know God.
- 56:23SPEAKER_00: He's not gonna say, oh, two weeks?
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: That was fun.
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: I was like, and so I said to myself, I was like, shoot, like five years later, we'll still be praying.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: It's been six and a half years, and there's no end inside.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, so I was like, let's pray.
- 56:35SPEAKER_00: So the motive was let us pray so that people can maintain their walk, so the people in the church can be okay.
- 56:43SPEAKER_00: That's where this came from.
- 56:45SPEAKER_00: And then I said, okay, also my church, like every church has a grace, right?
- 56:51SPEAKER_00: One of our graces is prayer.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's prayer.
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: You know, like the things that have to do with the ministry of the altar, so prayer, worship, all of those things.
- 57:00SPEAKER_00: And so I was like, so why don't, since we are doing it on Zoom, we can open it up so maybe people who don't know about praying in the spirit or people who struggle to pray or all that, they should they could come and pray.
- 57:12SPEAKER_00: This is literally how Arise and Shine started.
- 57:18SPEAKER_00: It's literally how it started.
- 57:19SPEAKER_00: It's the heart for the people.
- 57:20SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn this heart from the people?
- 57:22SPEAKER_00: Let me read the scripture because this scripture defines Pastor Steve like perfectly.
- 57:27SPEAKER_00: Jeremiah chapter chapter three, verse 15.
- 57:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm gonna show you guys this.
- 57:34SPEAKER_00: Jeremiah chapter 3.
- 57:37SPEAKER_00: Where is it?
- 57:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, this is what it says.
- 57:40SPEAKER_00: God was talking to the people.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: He said, I will give you shepherds.
- 57:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, these are pastors.
- 57:45SPEAKER_00: I will give you shepherds according to my heart.
- 57:48SPEAKER_00: So shepherds after the heart of God, who love God, because to serve God's people, you have to love Him.
- 57:53SPEAKER_00: If you go by the people, you kill the people.
- 57:55SPEAKER_00: Because people are people and they do peoply things, right?
- 57:58SPEAKER_00: Is the love of God that drives shepherds to take care of the people of God, okay?
- 58:02SPEAKER_00: And I will give you shepherds according to my heart who feed you with knowledge and understanding, right?
- 58:11SPEAKER_00: Feed you with knowledge and understanding.
- 58:12SPEAKER_00: So, Pastor, Pastor Steve is a is a shepherd after God's heart.
- 58:17SPEAKER_00: Where did I learn that?
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: So, what drove me to start this Zoom meeting?
- 58:21SPEAKER_00: Like, left to me, first of all, I was listening my private practice, we start at 9:30.
- 58:28SPEAKER_00: And we don't start at 9:30 because I did research and found out that's when people wanted to come.
- 58:31SPEAKER_00: That's because I didn't want to wake up early.
- 58:34SPEAKER_00: I was committed to not waking up early.
- 58:36SPEAKER_00: That my practice opens its doors at 9:30.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: So, so me leading a six o'clock meeting, this is not my idea.
- 58:44SPEAKER_00: You need to understand, this is not my idea.
- 58:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 58:49SPEAKER_00: I, in fact, the first few weeks, I was like, somebody needs to give me a martyr's crown because I'm giving up my life for the gospel.
- 58:57SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 58:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, so so see this.
- 59:01SPEAKER_00: So it came out of the heart for the people.
- 59:04SPEAKER_00: Now they're not praying.
- 59:05SPEAKER_00: If they're not praying, Satan is having a field day in their life.
- 59:08SPEAKER_00: Like, okay, you're we're at home.
- 59:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, you're not coming to church, no problem.
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: Come here and pray.
- 59:12SPEAKER_00: And then the other scripture, and I learned this from him, I want to read it for you too.
- 59:16SPEAKER_00: I want to show you how it got opened up, like beyond the church, because it's not just our church, everybody's free to come on.
- 59:22SPEAKER_00: So, second, second um Corinthians chapter chapter one from verse three says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.
- 59:32SPEAKER_00: Now pay attention to verse four.
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: It says, Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we have ourselves been comforted.
- 59:45SPEAKER_00: Bottom line is God comforts you, so you're not equipped to comfort other people.
- 59:49SPEAKER_00: One of the places, believe it or not, where I struggled a lot was in my prayer life.
- 59:54SPEAKER_00: In my prayer life.
- 59:55SPEAKER_00: Like, and it was a resistance, like a resistance to my prayer life.
- 59:59SPEAKER_00: So I understand it.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_00: That's why I am so happy to give people the gift of accountability that helps them stay consistent in their prayer lives.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_00: So this was what drove me to start it, and this is what drove me to open it up.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_00: Like, let's pray.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_00: Like, we as a church have been given the gift of understanding how to pray.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_00: We pray for long hours, we do all of these things so we can help other people cultivate that habit, right?
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_00: That that was the motive.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_00: That was the motive, and that is what became the horizon shine that you know today.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_00: And we under like we have a lot of prayer covering for our pastor.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_00: A lot of prayer, right?
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_00: And I know that there are many pastors who their people don't pray for them.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_00: They think, oh, man of God, he's strong, he got this, and they go away.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_00: That's why we pray for pastors on the call.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_00: That's the reason we do that.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_00: I understand there's so many challenges in family, and people don't understand how to stand in the gap for their families.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_00: But I've had privilege, I've seen it in church, I've seen all this other stuff.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_00: So that's why we pray for our households on Saturday.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_00: Do you guys see that?
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_00: So we pray for the church services, all of this stuff.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_00: Because we have been comforted with that same cup.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_00: God has given it to us like we've experienced it, so we help others experience it.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_00: That is not Dr.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_00: Trying to do no ministry.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_00: That's not what's happening here.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, success by the book.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_00: How did that happen?
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_00: On Horizonshine, it's like we teach, but it's primarily a prayer meeting.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_00: So when I'm teaching, I'm not teaching to teach, I'm explaining the scriptures so you can pray from a standpoint of faith.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_00: That's what happens.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_00: But in the process of doing that, like in Horizon Shine, we're all getting downloads and all this stuff.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh man, I wish I had more time to explain this to the people.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_00: So, success by the book is literally we're on Horizon Shine.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_00: They're only like I can talk, I talk about meditation all the time on Horizon Shine, but it's very different from when I can teach for an hour on it here.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_00: Do you see what I'm saying?
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, okay, okay, Lord, I'll do this, the YouTube channel.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_00: Now, all the things I really wanted to take time to explain on the call, but I can't explain on the call because it's a prayer meeting, not a teaching meeting.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_00: I can come here and teach it.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_00: So if so, get so here's the deal.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_00: There, we live in a generation where people are fighting for visibility, fighting my ministry, my this, my that, my that.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_00: Guys, listen.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_00: Nobody will commit to your hands your own thing if you're not faithful with another man's thing.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_00: Nobody's gonna commit a great ministry to your hands where you're not faithful with another thing in front of you.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_00: And God did not, Jesus did not die to promote your ministry.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_00: Jesus died so people can be saved.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_00: So you are in a church family.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_00: What is the mission of that family?
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_00: What are the goals of that family?
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, if the goal is we're trying to grow this church, how have you contributed to it?
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_00: If the goal is we want to build this building, how have you contributed to it?
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_00: If the goal is like, oh my goodness, our people are not developing as well as they can.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_00: We need prayer covering.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_00: How are you contributing to it?
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: Because it is in doing that that you start living a life of global impact.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_00: So on Arise and Shine today, we prayed for pastors.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_00: We usually do that on Mondays.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_00: We prayed for, like everybody's pastor, they type the name of their pastor in the chat and all of that stuff.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_00: It was 932 pastors that as a community we prayed for.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_00: As a community, we prayed for 932.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_00: And so I'm saying that to say I global impact for me, global impact for you on Arise and Shine.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_00: But this is the motive behind it.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: 932.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_00: This YouTube channel has been watched in the last I checked was 97 countries.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_00: So global impact is not coming from I will live a life of global impact.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_00: Everybody support my ministry.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_00: No, it's coming from partnering with my pastor in ministry, partnering with the church I'm a part of in ministry.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_00: There's a lady on here, she's either watching this or she'll watch the replay.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_00: She's in charge of all the small groups in our church.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_00: At some point, she was a small group leader and she started growing her small group.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_00: And she said, I'm gonna grow in my capacity to help my people so they can become small group leaders.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_00: And she's doing all of this thing, and now she's in charge of 68 small groups, one person.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_00: Can you think?
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_00: And these are all people who are now pastoring people under them.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine that?
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_00: Because she partnered with her pastor in ministry, showing up in church, engaging in what is happening, serving, watching, paying attention, partnering, it will turn your entire world right side up.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_00: I could go for hours and hours and tell you story after story, but I hope you can see it.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_00: I hope you can see it.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_00: I hope you never, ever, ever go to church like I dare.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_00: I hope the pastor prayed up today.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_00: Did you pray him up?
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_00: Did you pray?
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_00: Or do you think God will not ask you if you prayed up for your pastor?
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_00: You know, all the battles that you're supposed to face go to him.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_00: The principle of warfare is smite the shepherd and the sheep will scatter.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_00: So when Satan wants to come for you and the other thousand people in the church, he goes after the pastor and goes after his family.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_00: Have you ever covered your pastor in prayer?
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_00: Now, if you come to Rise and Shine, you'll see that these things drive what we do there.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_00: So even if you didn't fully understand it, you've been doing it.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_00: You've been doing it.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_00: You've been doing all these things.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_00: You've been praying for your pastor, you've been inviting people to go to church, you've been covering your church services in prayer.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_00: You've been doing you've been doing all of these things.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_00: Church is the harvard of God.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_00: Engaging with church properly would change your whole life.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_00: It is a disservice not to go, it is a serve disservice to go and not engage, it's a disservice to go and not deploy your strength and your resources and your energy and your expertise and all that.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_00: Guys, listen to me.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_00: Church is the harvard of God, it is the number one human resource development institute in the universe.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_00: I'll say it again.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_00: It is the number one human resource development institution.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_00: So you want to become all you can be, God has an institution for that.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_00: It's called the church.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_00: And listen to me.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_00: No matter what kind of Mercedes-Benz you get, it's a luxury car because that's how they roll.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_00: They only make luxury cars.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_00: So how can we think that a product that God made is inferior, is stupid, is not relevant to society, it's a waste of our time.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_00: No, God builds premium of premium products.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_00: When God brings builds products, the people who build premium products say this is a premium product.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_00: The church is a premium product.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_00: The church is God's institute, number one institute in the universe for human resource development.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_00: You want to become everything God called you to be?
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_00: The answer is in the church.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_00: But I'm a pediatrician, okay?
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_00: I will tell you a mother can want to breastfeed.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_00: If the child doesn't want a nurse, the child doesn't want a nurse, and the child ain't getting no milk.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_00: So you don't show up in church like, well, let's see what they're doing here.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_00: No, you actively engage and you go to get out of it everything God put in it for you.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_00: That's what you do.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_00: So I have been delivered from wrong ways of thinking about the church, wrong ways of showing up in church, not showing up in church, all of that.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_00: I'm delivered.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_00: I'm delivered.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_00: I'm this is the way I show up in church.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_00: This is when I go to church, you should see me.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_00: Notebook, phone to take my notes, everything.
- 1:07:25SPEAKER_00: Like I'm and I'm like, Pastor, let's go.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_00: Because I know the word is gonna change me.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_00: When there are projects, I engage, I'm all in why.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_00: I know it's gonna change me.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_00: So I want to invite you to start seeing your church, like the Harvard it is.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_00: I want to invite you to start deploying places where you've been complaining, it's enough.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_00: Now you pray.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_00: Now you pray, now you deploy, now you mobilize.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_00: If there's no intercessory team in your church, go build it, go grab people.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_00: Let's pray.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_00: It's not about title, it's not about being acknowledged, it's not about any of that stuff.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_00: It's about doing what needs to be done.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_00: Do it.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_00: And my goodness, let me tell you something.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_00: If anybody told me 26 years ago that my life will look the way it looks now, I could not, there's no way I could have imagined it.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_00: There is a version of you you can't imagine, there's a version of your life you can't imagine, and it's all tied to deploying.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_00: So deploy, deploy, like do the things that I've shown you today and just keep doing it.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_00: Like, don't set a time, don't say I give God 30 days, just do it.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_00: And where you find yourself will shock you forever and ever.
