May 1 - Friday of the 4th Week of Easter
(Acts 13:26-33; Ps.2:6-11; Jn.14:1-6) “You are my Son; this day I have begotten you.” This same verse appearing in both our first reading and our psalm is spoken also by Jesus in our gospel when He says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me,” for such is the Son begotten of the Father. How comforting are Jesus’ words in our gospel, and how enlightening Paul’s speech.
