- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, it's the Almost Famous podcast, and today we're
- 0:09Speaker 2: recapping something that I really wish that we didn't have
- 0:12Speaker 2: to the women tell All.
- 0:15Speaker 3: This is the stupidest thing I've ever watched?
- 0:17Speaker 2: Was it not? The It was the worst. And you
- 0:19Speaker 2: guys know we hate tell All's one. I hate recapping
- 0:21Speaker 2: to tell All because recapping and recap is kind of difficult.
- 0:25Speaker 2: This one's particularly difficult because it was like a housewife
- 0:30Speaker 2: tell All. It was just a screen match. I couldn't
- 0:34Speaker 2: make out anything. I know that Ben was just telling
- 0:36Speaker 2: me that he feels like an alien and on this
- 0:38Speaker 2: planet sometimes because he doesn't understand social media and blah
- 0:41Speaker 2: blah blah. And I felt like an alien or I
- 0:44Speaker 2: felt like an old person watching this because I couldn't
- 0:47Speaker 2: really follow what they were saying at all. Like the
- 0:50Speaker 2: first twenty minutes, I said to Jared, can you explain?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Can you interpret what just happened? And then he was like,
- 0:57Speaker 2: Marie is a dick And I was like wait what.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I was like, well, okay, but can you explain yourself?
- 1:02Speaker 2: He's like, she literally wouldn't let anybody else talk and
- 1:04Speaker 2: it was just like a screaming match, and I was like, Okay, well,
- 1:08Speaker 2: everybody else is obsessed with Maria, so I'm not sure
- 1:10Speaker 2: if you're right about this. I'm remaining neutral.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Well, I uh, we will get into the details of
- 1:17Speaker 3: how we feel about each conversation, because that is what
- 1:19Speaker 3: we're here for. I really hated watching this episode, and
- 1:24Speaker 3: the reasons are a few things. One, it's so unhealthy.
- 1:28Speaker 3: There's nothing healthy about this. There is no I know
- 1:31Speaker 3: people will probably point and say yes, but they made
- 1:33Speaker 3: up in the end.
- 1:34Speaker 2: No, they didn't.
- 1:35Speaker 3: That was very confusing to me and felt very produced.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Ben That was girls just wanting to be like, let's
- 1:42Speaker 2: get the applause from the audience. We'll apologize. There's no
- 1:46Speaker 2: way we're actually gonna be friends after this. There's no
- 1:48Speaker 2: way we're even gonna like smile at each other backstage.
- 1:51Speaker 2: That was to appease people and to like make them, like,
- 1:55Speaker 2: everybody look decent. In the end, I will, you know,
- 1:59Speaker 2: give credit to my friend Sidney, who I do think
- 2:01Speaker 2: made a good move when she just said, like, you
- 2:04Speaker 2: know what, I was annoying. We we didn't see eye
- 2:10Speaker 2: to eye, and I wish I did things differently it
- 2:12Speaker 2: was a good response. I'm really glad that she said
- 2:14Speaker 2: what she said. But overall, like with the hugging and
- 2:17Speaker 2: stuff like Maria coming and hugging and the Leah the
- 2:23Speaker 2: Leah thing, the Layath thing was weird because they're screaming
- 2:26Speaker 2: at each other, and this is where I think you're
- 2:28Speaker 2: saying that you're confused screaming at each other. Then they
- 2:30Speaker 2: go to break, then Leah is crying, and then before
- 2:33Speaker 2: you know it, Maria's coming over and hugging her and
- 2:37Speaker 2: they're like, I love you. And it's like very weird,
- 2:38Speaker 2: and it's like you're a great woman, like Leah says,
- 2:41Speaker 2: like you're a wonderful woman. And I'm like, oh, what
- 2:45Speaker 2: happened here?
- 2:46Speaker 3: Here's my kind of like overall quote for the evening
- 2:50Speaker 3: of a bunch of wrongs don't make a right, and
- 2:52Speaker 3: it felt like it was wrong, wrong, wrong, yell, yell,
- 2:55Speaker 3: yell at each other. Okay, I'm not saying anybody was
- 2:58Speaker 3: better than anybody else here. I do think we got
- 3:02Speaker 3: some insight into some of the things that were said
- 3:05Speaker 3: during the season about Maria. We did now get kind
- 3:09Speaker 3: of a group consensus that said, no, she didn't actually
- 3:12Speaker 3: say those things. Like I said those things.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Well, that's yeah, Lauren was like I was the one
- 3:16Speaker 2: that said shut the fuck up.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah, So like there was a consensus there. So it's like, Okay,
- 3:21Speaker 3: why were you hating on Maria so bad? What it
- 3:23Speaker 3: ended up being was you just didn't like her, and
- 3:26Speaker 3: that's not a good reason to be so mean to somebody.
- 3:29Speaker 3: But everybody was just yelling at each other. You had
- 3:33Speaker 3: a couple people in the back row that were there
- 3:35Speaker 3: for two episodes that were wanting to get their insights in,
- 3:38Speaker 3: so you could barely hear what anybody else was saying.
- 3:41Speaker 3: They were making sure their voice was heard, which is
- 3:43Speaker 3: always a thing that happens this episode, and then and
- 3:48Speaker 3: then they're good, and it's like, what happened in between here?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Because you just made somebody cry, You just made Maria
- 3:55Speaker 3: walk through a season of being called a bully. Sidney,
- 3:59Speaker 3: your whole experience on this show was awful Like that,
- 4:03Speaker 3: there was no way you're happy you went on this
- 4:05Speaker 3: show at any point in time, because it really was
- 4:07Speaker 3: just from the moment it started to the moment you left,
- 4:10Speaker 3: it was a wreck. It was hard, it was grueling,
- 4:14Speaker 3: and then you left the show, and it's even been worse,
- 4:18Speaker 3: you know, so like what happened in between to then
- 4:21Speaker 3: all of a sudden, you guys are good again. Because
- 4:24Speaker 3: for me, I barely saw an apology from anybody. I
- 4:27Speaker 3: saw a lot of people still trying to get their
- 4:29Speaker 3: jabs in, still trying to say, yeah, but you know,
- 4:34Speaker 3: you did say this or I heard it this way,
- 4:38Speaker 3: but I'm sorry, and it's like, no, that's not how
- 4:40Speaker 3: an apology works. That's not how a genuine like reconciliation
- 4:45Speaker 3: of relationship works. You don't just make somebody cry. You
- 4:49Speaker 3: don't make somebody suffer through a whole season of being
- 4:51Speaker 3: called a bully. You don't walk through this show and
- 4:55Speaker 3: the experience that you did and then all of a sudden,
- 4:57Speaker 3: because somebody starts crying, everybody's good again. That I don't
- 5:01Speaker 3: that's a very unhealthy way to at all resolve issues,
- 5:06Speaker 3: and it felt like that's what happened here.
- 5:10Speaker 2: For me. For me, the apologies at this point are
- 5:15Speaker 2: really again for the audience, because like, you're just not
- 5:18Speaker 2: going to be friends with the people that you really
- 5:19Speaker 2: make enemies with that like that in the house to
- 5:21Speaker 2: that extent, well, we did, okay, so let's start or
- 5:24Speaker 2: you really have a fresh start, and that's called paradise,
- 5:27Speaker 2: and like for some reason we can kind of put
- 5:29Speaker 2: the past away.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It's always a beautiful moment when the past goes awakes.
- 5:33Speaker 3: At all it tip, I mean ninety percent of time
- 5:35Speaker 3: it does. Because there was a quote this episode that said,
- 5:38Speaker 3: I never really got to know you. On this season
- 5:41Speaker 3: they're talking about Maria, and I think that's very true.
- 5:43Speaker 3: They never took the time to really get to know her.
- 5:46Speaker 3: They just didn't like her because, as Medina said, it
- 5:48Speaker 3: was some of the ways that the cadence of how
- 5:51Speaker 3: things were said or when it was said or how
- 5:52Speaker 3: it was said, and so it threw people off right away.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Let's start at the beginning, because I do have some
- 6:00Speaker 3: feelings about what Jared said about Maria. Won't let anybody
- 6:03Speaker 3: talk about Sydney's apology about Lea, about Medina. Also Jess,
- 6:10Speaker 3: who is such a big storyline this season for so long,
- 6:13Speaker 3: and I felt like we got a little insight into
- 6:15Speaker 3: where she's at. Overall, though we say it every year,
- 6:20Speaker 3: I feel more strongly about it this season because it
- 6:24Speaker 3: was such a good season. It did have its bumps,
- 6:28Speaker 3: it did have its controversies, it did have some character
- 6:33Speaker 3: slamming throughout. However, overall it was a great sea. It's
- 6:39Speaker 3: been a great season of the Bachelor, and a lot
- 6:41Speaker 3: of healthy things have came from it. I think this
- 6:44Speaker 3: women tell all, this whole idea is unhealthy. I think
- 6:50Speaker 3: it's unnecessary. It's a filler episode by all means. I
- 6:55Speaker 3: do not enjoy it. I don't enjoy watching it.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I was very happy that it was basically half tell all,
- 7:02Speaker 2: half regular episode though, because we got the note conclusion
- 7:07Speaker 2: and then we got Rachel's dumping and then their moment,
- 7:11Speaker 2: so we really didn't have to go through is like
- 7:13Speaker 2: suffer through much And it was really the yelling match
- 7:16Speaker 2: for only about twenty minutes because then we started doing
- 7:18Speaker 2: hot seats, and hot seats are easier to watch because
- 7:21Speaker 2: it's not the whole crew yelling at each other.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, let's start at the beginning. We do have
- 7:27Speaker 3: the ladies there. There isn't any massive stars from this
- 7:31Speaker 3: season who do not show up, which typically we do
- 7:33Speaker 3: get kudos to. Really all of the women who are
- 7:36Speaker 3: involved in any type of controversy actually coming to the
- 7:39Speaker 3: tell all. You don't really have to, it's not like
- 7:42Speaker 3: forced upon. You can say no, but it's a big
- 7:45Speaker 3: deal that they did. We do have, obviously, the big
- 7:50Speaker 3: storyline we just talked about, so let's dive in here
- 7:54Speaker 3: to really the biggest part of the whole thing, which
- 7:57Speaker 3: is the Maria Lea Sydney Jess drama. Medina kind of
- 8:04Speaker 3: gets mixed into it a little bit. Ashley, I feel
- 8:09Speaker 3: like the fans got what they wanted because they do
- 8:11Speaker 3: love Maria. I understand why she is relatable in a
- 8:14Speaker 3: lot of ways. I mean, I think you could pick
- 8:17Speaker 3: at this and say, yeah, she didn't really let anybody talk.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I mean she even admitted when somebody said, hey, you
- 8:22Speaker 3: just always interrupted me, and she interrupted the person. She's like, see,
- 8:25Speaker 3: I'm doing it again. But her reasoning was I can't
- 8:27Speaker 3: let you say things that are not true. Following that
- 8:31Speaker 3: statement by Maria, there are women in the back row
- 8:35Speaker 3: that say, yes, Maria did not say the things that
- 8:38Speaker 3: you said. She said I said those things, or a
- 8:40Speaker 3: Duena said, I never witnessed any of the things that
- 8:44Speaker 3: you're saying Maria said about you. Madina stands up for Maria.
- 8:49Speaker 3: So is it right for Maria to interrupt? I don't know. Uh,
- 8:57Speaker 3: I don't think it's wrong because if these women and
- 9:00Speaker 3: are still trying to get their like words out and say, no,
- 9:02Speaker 3: this is what was upsetting me about you. This is
- 9:04Speaker 3: what you're saying. She's like, I didn't say that thing. Stuff.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Stop saying I said that stuff. I do think that's fair,
- 9:10Speaker 3: because as soon as those words are out there, I
- 9:12Speaker 3: do think they live in people's minds. And Maria is
- 9:15Speaker 3: just trying to say, I did not say the things
- 9:17Speaker 3: you said. I did not say the things that you
- 9:21Speaker 3: are saying I said about you. So yes, did feel
- 9:26Speaker 3: like Maria did exactly what they were saying. She does. Yes,
- 9:29Speaker 3: it did. However, I don't think it was wrong. I
- 9:32Speaker 3: don't think it was necessary. It might have been annoying
- 9:36Speaker 3: for the girls. I just don't think it was wrong.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I think the only time for me Ashlely, it felt
- 9:45Speaker 3: overdone was with Jess, because I think Jess is really hurt.
- 9:50Speaker 3: That was my point earlier. I think she really was
- 9:53Speaker 3: nervous to be there. I think she really isn't the
- 9:56Speaker 3: type of person that wanted to walk off screen the
- 9:58Speaker 3: way she walked off the show. I think she was
- 10:01Speaker 3: trying to like tell a story of how she was
- 10:04Speaker 3: feeling and what led her up to that moment. I
- 10:07Speaker 3: don't exactly think she was trying to make anything worse
- 10:12Speaker 3: for Maria. But Jess was like really hurt. You could tell,
- 10:17Speaker 3: I think in her tone and just how she stood
- 10:19Speaker 3: up for herself was that she was really wanting to
- 10:22Speaker 3: go there and just kind of be like, I'm sorry,
- 10:25Speaker 3: Like I didn't like you, Maria. You were driving me
- 10:28Speaker 3: crazy every other time Maria interrupted. I thought it was
- 10:32Speaker 3: totally appropriate because it was starting to go off the
- 10:35Speaker 3: rails for a.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Bit, Jared said. Jared wasn't even there for the Jess
- 10:39Speaker 2: moment because the Jess moment is when I was like, Okay,
- 10:42Speaker 2: now the interrupting is becoming obnoxious. He was just talking
- 10:47Speaker 2: about before, like all the talking over before. But I'm like, okay,
- 10:50Speaker 2: that's interesting. It's just interesting because like everybody else is
- 10:53Speaker 2: obsessed with Maria. So I don't know, if you're looking
- 10:54Speaker 2: at it through different lens, I really try to look
- 10:57Speaker 2: at like a little bit more neutrally.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Well, she's a fire character, Ashley, I know. I mean,
- 11:02Speaker 3: she's not going to be everybody's cup of tea. However,
- 11:07Speaker 3: I do think what people love about her, she says
- 11:11Speaker 3: what she feels, She stands up for herself. She is funny,
- 11:17Speaker 3: she's charismatic. She obviously is a lot more comfortable in
- 11:21Speaker 3: these environments than ninety percent of the other women.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Oh like, and it translates, and that's what makes her
- 11:28Speaker 2: a lot more likable. I think she's so comfortable. But
- 11:33Speaker 2: I'd also say that, like I do think she gets
- 11:36Speaker 2: like a little bit of a blind support from the audience,
- 11:38Speaker 2: like they do not want to hear anybody else's side.
- 11:43Speaker 2: And I know where I'm coming I know the perspective
- 11:46Speaker 2: that I'm coming from is different. But it's like, you
- 11:50Speaker 2: screw with Maria like you screw with me, Like they
- 11:53Speaker 2: make it. They feel like she is their best friend.
- 11:56Speaker 2: They have like Maria blinders on and you can see
- 12:00Speaker 2: either they didn't mention it when Rachel came out and
- 12:04Speaker 2: was talking about the hate that she was getting on
- 12:06Speaker 2: social media, but a lot of the hate that she
- 12:08Speaker 2: was getting from social media last, you know, a week
- 12:11Speaker 2: or so ago after Hometowns or not ye after Hometowns,
- 12:16Speaker 2: when Maria was limited and she wasn't was like, how
- 12:21Speaker 2: dare you take Maria's spot?
- 12:24Speaker 3: Well, I think Maria has a massive following. I think
- 12:28Speaker 3: people are very invested into her story. I do believe
- 12:31Speaker 3: it probably came because they felt like she was getting
- 12:34Speaker 3: treated unfairly from the very beginning. I think this tell
- 12:39Speaker 3: all will only solidify their support for Maria because I
- 12:45Speaker 3: think what comes out of this outside of all the
- 12:47Speaker 3: confusion and the craziness and the yelling and people talking
- 12:49Speaker 3: over each other and not really knowing where the conversation's
- 12:53Speaker 3: going half the time, I think the one thing we
- 12:55Speaker 3: can get take from this is that Maria was not
- 12:58Speaker 3: in the wrong. And I say that and I know
- 13:01Speaker 3: that could seem weird outside of her interrupting people, which
- 13:06Speaker 3: you could say was appropriate and maybe not appropriate in
- 13:09Speaker 3: the jet situation. At least that's my feeling. Outside of that,
- 13:12Speaker 3: we did hear a couple things come out of it.
- 13:15Speaker 3: One we heard somebody say, no, she didn't say that.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I said that way.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Can I say this? One thing? Jared was like, Okay,
- 13:22Speaker 2: what's the difference between shut then up and zip it?
- 13:25Speaker 2: It's just as annoying.
- 13:28Speaker 3: It's not what they said she said.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I think that's the big thing is I think what
- 13:34Speaker 3: was I think maybe if we dive into that was happening,
- 13:38Speaker 3: was there was obviously a scenario going on where multiple
- 13:40Speaker 3: people felt like that person needed to stop talking because
- 13:43Speaker 3: they were saying things that was ridiculous. Also, you had
- 13:47Speaker 3: multiple women, A Duena and Medina. It's very hard a
- 13:51Speaker 3: Duena and Medina saying together, Yeah, specifically, we're coming out
- 13:57Speaker 3: and saying you just didn't like Maria because of like
- 14:00Speaker 3: how she is or what she says. But she wasn't
- 14:03Speaker 3: doing the things you said she was doing. She was
- 14:04Speaker 3: not a bully to me and there and it really
- 14:07Speaker 3: carries the most weight coming from Medina for me, because
- 14:09Speaker 3: this whole thing started with a comment and a situation
- 14:14Speaker 3: with Medina. And so if Medina is sitting at the
- 14:16Speaker 3: side of Maria being like, hey, you know what, like
- 14:18Speaker 3: what she said really wasn't bad at all, Like it
- 14:21Speaker 3: was fine, and given the context, then I'm like, where
- 14:24Speaker 3: did this whole thing come from? It obviously was just
- 14:26Speaker 3: that you didn't like this person, you felt threatened by
- 14:29Speaker 3: this person. And so in conclusion, here the one thing
- 14:35Speaker 3: we can get from the tell all is that Maria
- 14:37Speaker 3: was treated unfairly for a majority majority of the season
- 14:41Speaker 3: by three women Leah Sidney Jess because of some angst
- 14:48Speaker 3: that they had against her. Now, if you want to
- 14:51Speaker 3: dive into the semantics of you know how that played
- 14:55Speaker 3: out in the tell all or how that played out
- 14:56Speaker 3: in the season we can I don't think it's it's
- 14:59Speaker 3: really helpful, and I think it's going to lead us
- 15:01Speaker 3: at the same conclusion.
- 15:02Speaker 2: It does lead to the same conclusion, which is you
- 15:04Speaker 2: and I kind of established weeks ago they have totally
- 15:07Speaker 2: different ways of like communicating, and those girls did not
- 15:10Speaker 2: like her style.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Yes, And so the fans see this whole thing playing
- 15:15Speaker 3: out and they're like, hey, Maria wasn't the wrong here.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I'm on Maria's side. And then they watch tell and
- 15:20Speaker 3: they're like, I'm still on Maria's side because they're now
- 15:23Speaker 3: they're readily admitting, along with a quorum of people saying
- 15:29Speaker 3: Maria didn't say these things, and so she was treated unfairly.
- 15:32Speaker 3: This was a hard road for her, and so they're
- 15:34Speaker 3: going to come out in more support following the tell
- 15:36Speaker 3: off for her, which is fine, which is great, my hope,
- 15:40Speaker 3: my hope. If anything with the apology that came out
- 15:44Speaker 3: of nowhere really for all of them, I don't even
- 15:47Speaker 3: know how they even happened, because there was no leading
- 15:49Speaker 3: up to it. It was just like, hey, you're crying.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I don't want you to cry. I don't want you
- 15:52Speaker 3: to be hurt. Let's solve this here. My hope is
- 15:55Speaker 3: that now fans can move on from this whole situationuation
- 16:00Speaker 3: and stop adding on the hate, stop adding on the criticism,
- 16:03Speaker 3: stop adding on the comments, and just say, hey, they
- 16:06Speaker 3: figured it out. We can figure it out too.
- 16:09Speaker 2: M I'll just say this one more thing. I don't
- 16:12Speaker 2: think that I think that Lauren, Alyssa, Lauren, Alison, and
- 16:18Speaker 2: Adulina were always kind of team Maria always backing her,
- 16:24Speaker 2: Medina somewhere in the middle, and then the three of them.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I think that the teams kind of stayed placed in
- 16:29Speaker 2: this situation. And that's all I gotta say about that.
- 16:34Speaker 3: It did feel like outside of everything else, Leah was
- 16:38Speaker 3: the kind of more than Sidney really uh, you know,
- 16:43Speaker 3: Sydney had uh.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I don't think she really wanted to stay back.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah, she didn't do a lot to help herself or
- 16:49Speaker 3: hurt herself. She just kind of stayed quiet. We've commented
- 16:52Speaker 3: on Jess. I think Jess was trying to resolve. I
- 16:56Speaker 3: don't know necessarily how she was going to get there
- 16:58Speaker 3: because it kept coming out. But I do think Chess
- 17:01Speaker 3: was like really hurt and just like really like sad
- 17:05Speaker 3: of how she handled the situation. It did feel like Leah,
- 17:08Speaker 3: out of everybody else, took the most criticism from the
- 17:13Speaker 3: group and was kind of the target of You caused
- 17:17Speaker 3: a lot of the things that ended up being dramatic
- 17:19Speaker 3: during the season. You caused these things, and I don't
- 17:25Speaker 3: know if Leah expected it. I don't know if she,
- 17:29Speaker 3: but there were some things said to Leah that were
- 17:32Speaker 3: very pointed, like you say you were a woman's woman,
- 17:35Speaker 3: you didn't act like it, and then you said these
- 17:39Speaker 3: things about somebody else and Leah said I did not,
- 17:41Speaker 3: and then four women said no, you did, and she goes, okay,
- 17:44Speaker 3: I did stop gaslighting me, and they're like, don't say
- 17:47Speaker 3: we're gaslighting. You were saying the truth here. And it
- 17:50Speaker 3: did feel like for a while for me, I am glad,
- 17:54Speaker 3: I am glad there was some healing or I'm just
- 17:56Speaker 3: glad the thing stopped, because it did feel like a
- 17:58Speaker 3: while we were going to run off the rails and
- 18:02Speaker 3: really kind of like throw a bunch of daggers in
- 18:05Speaker 3: Lea and just leave it there. And that felt That's
- 18:09Speaker 3: why it was so hard for me to watch, because
- 18:11Speaker 3: like this isn't This isn't what this is meant for.
- 18:13Speaker 3: This is a show about love and relationships. You didn't
- 18:16Speaker 3: find love or relationships, but we damn sure should not
- 18:21Speaker 3: crush you in the process, And it felt like it
- 18:23Speaker 3: was going to be a crushing not delay did anything
- 18:27Speaker 3: to help herself there. I don't think she was like
- 18:28Speaker 3: explaining herself well or getting out of the situation well
- 18:31Speaker 3: by any means. But it just kept getting worse and
- 18:35Speaker 3: worse and worse until the commercial break, and then I
- 18:37Speaker 3: think the producers like, that's enough, We're done.
- 18:42Speaker 2: One other thing to mention about Leyah, interesting how the
- 18:45Speaker 2: girls seemed to really get angry at her for the
- 18:48Speaker 2: whole burning of the date card that she was going
- 18:52Speaker 2: to be able to like steal somebody's date card. They
- 18:54Speaker 2: really came out her for that, And I don't know,
- 18:58Speaker 2: I guess I kind of understand. I think I think
- 19:00Speaker 2: they just wanted to pile on her, and that was
- 19:02Speaker 2: the first topic that came up, and she was but
- 19:06Speaker 2: like I they were like, you were crying and la
- 19:08Speaker 2: la lah, But the crying was for you, that wasn't
- 19:11Speaker 2: for us. You were making it seem like you were
- 19:13Speaker 2: doing us a favor. And I'm like, I think you
- 19:17Speaker 2: guys are being dramatic. Now, yeah, well I get it,
- 19:20Speaker 2: I get it, but also dramatic, you know what I mean? Like,
- 19:22Speaker 2: I see where you're coming from.
- 19:25Speaker 3: It plays out completely differently if Leah the whole season
- 19:28Speaker 3: is like a supportive, encouraging human to others. I think
- 19:32Speaker 3: what they're saying is like, you did this and said
- 19:34Speaker 3: you did it for the women, and then you were
- 19:36Speaker 3: mean to so many during the season. Those two things
- 19:40Speaker 3: don't run in parallel, and so I think it plays
- 19:44Speaker 3: out completely different if she's seen differently by the women
- 19:48Speaker 3: throughout the season and conclud of this whole experience. It
- 20:02Speaker 3: just felt like a lot of yelling. It didn't feel
- 20:04Speaker 3: like it did much more than maybe prove that Maria
- 20:11Speaker 3: wasn't the BOLLI that the narrative started to try to
- 20:15Speaker 3: play out, and that shows why the confusion was there
- 20:18Speaker 3: for Maria and the other women. But these are real
- 20:22Speaker 3: humans trying to figure out a really weird environment, and
- 20:25Speaker 3: so I just don't think it's ever healthy to come
- 20:29Speaker 3: out of the tell all and show more hate to
- 20:32Speaker 3: any of them, because, hey, outside if it was real
- 20:35Speaker 3: or not, I'm gonna assume it is. Because we saw
- 20:37Speaker 3: it on television and it was their actions to do it.
- 20:41Speaker 3: If they can forgive each other, we can too. We
- 20:44Speaker 3: can move on. They can move on. No more hate
- 20:47Speaker 3: out there. It really sucks with these people when that happens,
- 20:50Speaker 3: and it really puts you in a hard place.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Okay, So then there was Lexi's hot seat. Jen's hot seat.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Basically Lexi's you know, was just her thanking people being
- 21:00Speaker 2: understanding for her stage five endometriosis and you know, like
- 21:05Speaker 2: it's just all good. And then with Jen's it was
- 21:07Speaker 2: also all good. I like Jen's. Jen's really likable character.
- 21:12Speaker 2: If there was a season where there wasn't a lot
- 21:14Speaker 2: of other likable characters, I could see her being in
- 21:17Speaker 2: contention for the Bachelorette. She and Joey definitely like felt
- 21:20Speaker 2: like they had something, and she's just kind of adorable
- 21:23Speaker 2: and easy to watch.
- 21:25Speaker 3: She was a whole season. She was funny, she was
- 21:27Speaker 3: witted or quick witted. You know, I agree if many
- 21:33Speaker 3: other seasons, she would be the one that were like,
- 21:35Speaker 3: we absolutely can see her doing it. But the season
- 21:39Speaker 3: had was stacked full of incredible people and it's what
- 21:42Speaker 3: made it so fun. The hot These two hot seats
- 21:45Speaker 3: made sense of why they were up there. I mean,
- 21:48Speaker 3: you know, Maria had a hot seat, Jen and Lexi
- 21:52Speaker 3: had a hot seat. Those three makes sense to me.
- 21:54Speaker 3: It just there wasn't much that came out of it.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah, there's not nothing that anything to talk about for
- 21:58Speaker 2: you and I.
- 21:59Speaker 3: But but what did come out of it was the
- 22:02Speaker 3: next scene, which was this note card thing that we
- 22:05Speaker 3: see from Joey and I want to comment on this here.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I agree with you of what you said at the beginning.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I could handle tell Alls if it was half a
- 22:13Speaker 3: tell alle and half an episode, because at this point
- 22:16Speaker 3: in time, we kind of move into a more live,
- 22:19Speaker 3: interactive experience with the Bachelor and his contestants as the
- 22:25Speaker 3: show's going on on a screen that they're watching. I
- 22:28Speaker 3: think that was that's intriguing to me. I don't mean
- 22:33Speaker 3: when we started this podcast today and I said I
- 22:36Speaker 3: hated watching it. I just don't like seeing people yell
- 22:39Speaker 3: at each other for twenty five minutes. It's not fun
- 22:41Speaker 3: for me, and I don't know if it's really fun
- 22:43Speaker 3: for anybody. I don't know anybody out there that's like,
- 22:45Speaker 3: this is the coolest thing ever. Is all these women
- 22:48Speaker 3: talking over each other.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I can't people love it? Ben, I can't say that
- 22:51Speaker 2: some people don't love it, because I know that they do,
- 22:54Speaker 2: and I can see by the social media feedback that
- 22:56Speaker 2: they had fun with it. Okay, I think that for
- 22:58Speaker 2: you and I, I do you not like I like
- 23:01Speaker 2: I throw myself. Yeah, yeah, I don't like it. I
- 23:05Speaker 2: think if you've been part of it, you're like, no,
- 23:08Speaker 2: thank you. But if you're watching it and the drama
- 23:12Speaker 2: really doesn't mean much to you, it's just something that
- 23:14Speaker 2: you watch on TV, I think it could be fun.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Oh okay, well we do see this no card situation.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Uh what a weird scenario, Like from all sides, this
- 23:27Speaker 3: note card comes in. It's what we have a cliffhanger
- 23:29Speaker 3: on the last episode. We get to read the note card.
- 23:33Speaker 3: It says we need to talk again. That's never a
- 23:36Speaker 3: good sign.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Except for I told you last week. I go, what
- 23:39Speaker 2: if they what if she writes this and it's really nothing.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I'm I and she says I miss you, and like,
- 23:44Speaker 2: I really hope it's me. Like I told you that
- 23:47Speaker 2: this was a possibility.
- 23:49Speaker 3: You did it was.
- 23:50Speaker 2: This is such a moment of play. We're going to
- 23:54Speaker 2: call it. It was a moment of play. Yeah, because she
- 23:57Speaker 2: was missing him. This is my theory. She was miss
- 24:00Speaker 2: She probably wanted to write him a letter, slip a
- 24:02Speaker 2: really nice romantic something under his door. And then a
- 24:05Speaker 2: producer is like, why don't you just like write him
- 24:08Speaker 2: a note that says like, let's talk, knowing it would
- 24:12Speaker 2: freak Joey the hell out, And it was exactly It
- 24:15Speaker 2: played out perfectly for them.
- 24:18Speaker 3: It felt so weird. Yeah, to me, it did the
- 24:22Speaker 3: whole thing, even her sitting down weird.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yeah, she's oh my god, I'm so sorry. I felt.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I feel so bad that you interpreted it like that, Kelsey.
- 24:32Speaker 2: You had knew totally.
- 24:33Speaker 3: You had to have known, and if you did it, like, hey,
- 24:37Speaker 3: it's time to step up a little bit here because
- 24:39Speaker 3: the show is only going to get harder these next
- 24:42Speaker 3: two weeks, and they're going to try every way possible
- 24:45Speaker 3: to get intside Joey's head because he's now the only
- 24:48Speaker 3: one they can really get inside the head of, like
- 24:50Speaker 3: in a healthy way, because he's the only one that's
- 24:52Speaker 3: not gonna leave, and so like protect him a little bit,
- 24:56Speaker 3: like be one step ahead of the producers here. And
- 25:00Speaker 3: and she obviously was not in this situation. It was
- 25:02Speaker 3: very weird it did throw him off, I don't I
- 25:06Speaker 3: never was worried about her going home because I don't
- 25:09Speaker 3: think it threw him off enough for that. But I
- 25:12Speaker 3: do think he had his heart was racing, his mind
- 25:15Speaker 3: was wandering.
- 25:16Speaker 2: His relief when he found out it was nothing. Yeah,
- 25:20Speaker 2: like I've never seen relief like that on the show before.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Well, I think it definitely points to who he wants
- 25:25Speaker 3: to be with in the end.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yeah, right, oh yeah, I mean I.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Think it's pretty clear at this point. If it's not Kelsey.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I think it's shocking.
- 25:35Speaker 2: And I think that's why they're messing with us for
- 25:38Speaker 2: to next week's episode. They're making it seem like he's
- 25:41Speaker 2: gonna get his heart broken significant, like he's going to
- 25:44Speaker 2: be ruined to the point that he can't even watch
- 25:47Speaker 2: the preview for the next season. Sitting up there in
- 25:50Speaker 2: front of an audience, He's going to be so ruined,
- 25:52Speaker 2: And they make it obvious, like that's like, it's too
- 25:56Speaker 2: obvious for the audience right now that he's picking Kelsey
- 25:59Speaker 2: that they have to throw us off in some lie.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Question for you, Ashley, as a fan, does it really
- 26:04Speaker 3: matter if it's obvious for you?
- 26:06Speaker 2: No? I like, whatever, I don't care at this point.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I just want to have like that whimsical feeling in
- 26:12Speaker 2: my chest when they get engaged.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't care if I know who he's gonna
- 26:18Speaker 3: be with. I mean, that's the whole point of the
- 26:19Speaker 3: show for them to find love. If he found love,
- 26:23Speaker 3: you know, weeks ago. It's cool to see this thing
- 26:26Speaker 3: play out the way it does. I get to see
- 26:27Speaker 3: their love story play on television. That's what we watch
- 26:29Speaker 3: the show for. I think. So I don't care. I
- 26:31Speaker 3: don't need them to play with me. I don't need
- 26:33Speaker 3: it to be a question in my mind. Some seasons,
- 26:35Speaker 3: I do believe it's naturally a very like confusing time
- 26:39Speaker 3: for the lead, and they don't know who they're gonna
- 26:41Speaker 3: choose necessarily at the end, even at you know, hometown
- 26:44Speaker 3: week and Fantasy suitet week. For this season, it's like, cool,
- 26:48Speaker 3: we know he knows that's his journey. The one person
- 26:51Speaker 3: he does not obviously continue on with is Rachel. We
- 26:54Speaker 3: do have Rachel, you know, in studio, she's sitting down
- 26:58Speaker 3: with Jesse watching her breakup live. It was obviously emotional,
- 27:06Speaker 3: it was real, it was not it felt like the
- 27:14Speaker 3: whole time, this whole show was in support of Joey.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I mean, obviously he's been great to these women and
- 27:22Speaker 3: they've been great to him. I don't know, though, if
- 27:26Speaker 3: I would say she was shocked. I think she was
- 27:29Speaker 3: obviously in love with Joey. I think she knew that
- 27:32Speaker 3: Joey would they could douce, you know, great things together.
- 27:36Speaker 3: I don't know, even watching the episode and seeing kind
- 27:39Speaker 3: of her words, I don't know if she was ever
- 27:41Speaker 3: shocked that it was her to go home.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think she was either, And I know
- 27:45Speaker 2: that we all weren't. I basically, in my head had
- 27:48Speaker 2: already eliminated her last week or before, which I feel
- 27:54Speaker 2: bad saying, but we all kind of knew. What was
- 28:06Speaker 2: really sad about this tell all moment was just how
- 28:10Speaker 2: she got through the reception that she got after Hometowns
- 28:12Speaker 2: and after she got eliminated and all the awful comments.
- 28:16Speaker 2: And I again, like, I do think that a lot
- 28:19Speaker 2: of the awful comments were coming from just people really
- 28:23Speaker 2: wanting Maria to be in her spot, because why else
- 28:28Speaker 2: would people be like saying mean things to her? Because
- 28:31Speaker 2: remember how she also kind of like told Maria off, Well,
- 28:35Speaker 2: she did not actually she'd tell her off. She said
- 28:37Speaker 2: why would you do that at the Rose ceremony.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I think the fans of Maria are the people that
- 28:45Speaker 3: were giving her criticism. If I was to speak to
- 28:50Speaker 3: Rachel Wromana, it would not be Hey, Rachel, it was
- 28:52Speaker 3: because of you personally. It's because you were playing into
- 28:55Speaker 3: a narrative that they were hoping was done so the
- 28:59Speaker 3: Maria getting unnecessary and unwarranted hate from these other women
- 29:06Speaker 3: with something that the fans of the show this season
- 29:10Speaker 3: were very sensitive too, because they felt like Maria was
- 29:13Speaker 3: getting unwarranted and you know, hate from at least three women,
- 29:19Speaker 3: and so when Rachel said this, I think they were saying,
- 29:21Speaker 3: one more is playing into this, and this is unnecessary.
- 29:28Speaker 3: You know. I think if we maybe hindsight a little
- 29:31Speaker 3: bit here, what Rachel said to Maria came in a
- 29:36Speaker 3: place of high stress, and it also almost to me.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I think you could say was like a very friendly question.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Like Ashley, if you and I were standing up at
- 29:46Speaker 3: a Rose ceremony and you did that, I would feel
- 29:50Speaker 3: totally fine being like Ashley, what are you doing? Stop? Like,
- 29:54Speaker 3: because we're close enough for me to be like, hey,
- 29:59Speaker 3: check yourself, fashly like, ye, don't do this crazy stuff. One,
- 30:03Speaker 3: it's annoying to me. Two I'm standing up here an
- 30:06Speaker 3: hour longer than I wanted to. And three, I'm like,
- 30:09Speaker 3: already so nervous that I'm going home tonight and you're
- 30:11Speaker 3: just delaying it. So stop doing whatever it is you're doing.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I could say that to you because we were close
- 30:18Speaker 3: enough for me to say it. I wonder, and we
- 30:21Speaker 3: never really saw their relationship, you know, in detail throughout
- 30:25Speaker 3: the season. I wonder if maybe it came from a
- 30:27Speaker 3: place of comfort for Rachel to be like, hey, Maria,
- 30:30Speaker 3: I like, like, we're friends, stop doing this.
- 30:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think they were there. I
- 30:36Speaker 2: don't think it was a comfort thing.
- 30:37Speaker 3: You think she was just more upset. Well, that's why
- 30:40Speaker 3: I think she got the criticism she did, is because
- 30:42Speaker 3: Maria fans are very sensitive to Maria being criticized and
- 30:47Speaker 3: hated on anymore, and so Rachel kind of took that bull.
- 30:50Speaker 3: But I don't think it's a hit on Rachel. I
- 30:51Speaker 3: don't think people are like, I don't like Rachel.
- 30:54Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, there's plenty of comments. There's
- 30:57Speaker 2: so many comments. I remember, like girls telling me how
- 31:01Speaker 2: much hate there she was getting. But also I but
- 31:05Speaker 2: you know, there was I don't want to disregard all
- 31:08Speaker 2: the comments that she said were racism based. So that's
- 31:11Speaker 2: absolutely tragic and.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Discuss I guess I haven't seen any of those, but
- 31:14Speaker 3: that's like, it's just weird. I mean, my explanation here
- 31:17Speaker 3: is all out of like I'm confused on how that
- 31:19Speaker 3: could come out towards Rachel because of this one situation.
- 31:23Speaker 3: It doesn't make any sense to me, Like she's been
- 31:26Speaker 3: amazing to me.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yeah, she just did nothing wrong the entire season. Well,
- 31:30Speaker 2: I'll stand on he's always likable. Well, you know what
- 31:32Speaker 2: I mean, she's always likable.
- 31:33Speaker 3: She's always likable. I'll stand on that. I'll say she
- 31:36Speaker 3: was likable. Any criticism she's getting is he is so
- 31:40Speaker 3: confusing to me. I can understand a little bit of
- 31:43Speaker 3: you know, the three women that really made Maria's road hard.
- 31:47Speaker 3: I can see where maybe they get the jabs and
- 31:50Speaker 3: all that, and people would be upset with them. The
- 31:52Speaker 3: Rachel things like so far gone from me. I don't
- 31:54Speaker 3: get it. And now I hope after I tell all
- 31:57Speaker 3: of them can move on without the criticism and people
- 31:59Speaker 3: can start the love on them, like if you don't
- 32:02Speaker 3: like them, don't follow them. It's pretty easy. I also
- 32:06Speaker 3: blame the robots. I think there's a lot of really
- 32:08Speaker 3: mean robots out there that are just like made to
- 32:11Speaker 3: make people feel worse about themselves. That's what I tell myself.
- 32:16Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure the robots aren't that creative, but they're
- 32:19Speaker 2: dang they're staying in.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Don't ruin it. Don't ruin that for me.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Okay, so let's go into predictions. Well, I guess there's
- 32:26Speaker 2: no predication. Okay, yes, predictions. This is how will wrap
- 32:29Speaker 2: up this episode. What do you think is happening at
- 32:32Speaker 2: the altar now that we're down to this actual moment?
- 32:35Speaker 3: Absolutely nothing. I think Daisy. I believe that Daisy knows
- 32:41Speaker 3: who it is in the end based on her context clues.
- 32:46Speaker 3: And she and Joey have this beautiful moment where she's like,
- 32:50Speaker 3: I love you. In any other world we could be together,
- 32:54Speaker 3: and Joey says, I agree, I love you too, or
- 32:57Speaker 3: I'm falling in love with you. I don't know if
- 32:59Speaker 3: he actually says I love you. I don't know if
- 33:01Speaker 3: he's that dumb to do what I did. I think
- 33:03Speaker 3: he's smarter than me. And then they leave, and I
- 33:07Speaker 3: think it's really sad, and then Kelsey comes up and
- 33:10Speaker 3: it's happily ever after. That's my thought. However, this teaser
- 33:16Speaker 3: makes it feel so different, so now I'm questioning it.
- 33:22Speaker 2: There's a lot of things that they've made in the
- 33:23Speaker 2: teaser where it looks like he's walking away getting into
- 33:26Speaker 2: the car alone. That could be totally there's me going
- 33:30Speaker 2: from the hotel to the altar alone.
- 33:33Speaker 3: You know, there's zero chance in my mind for anybody listening,
- 33:38Speaker 3: there's zero chance in my mind that Joey has walked
- 33:40Speaker 3: away from the show alone. There's no way, no how
- 33:44Speaker 3: would not make sense. And if he did, this would
- 33:48Speaker 3: be like three episodes left because there's gonna be a
- 33:51Speaker 3: lot of things that have to happen in order for
- 33:53Speaker 3: that to occur. There's no way he walks away from
- 33:56Speaker 3: the show alone. I do believe it's going to be
- 33:58Speaker 3: a very emotional final couple episodisodes, final episode, final episode.
- 34:02Speaker 3: I guess, yeah, well, I guess we do have a
- 34:04Speaker 3: tell all or it's like.
- 34:05Speaker 2: A three hour episode.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Goodness, gracious, I don't know.
- 34:08Speaker 2: This is I can deal with a three hour for this.
- 34:10Speaker 2: This is gonna be good.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna be good. But that's my theory is
- 34:14Speaker 3: this is being played up to be something it's not.
- 34:18Speaker 3: My also point to this is, no matter what now
- 34:20Speaker 3: happens in the end, unless somehow he does end up alone.
- 34:25Speaker 3: This has happened before. Like, there's no scenario that can
- 34:29Speaker 3: play out here that like would be revolutionary. We've seen
- 34:35Speaker 3: this stuff before, right, We've seen somebody leave in the
- 34:38Speaker 3: last week.
- 34:39Speaker 2: No, the what would be revolutionary I think would be
- 34:43Speaker 2: if both girls dumbed him.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Yeah, That's why I said, unless he ends up alone, which.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Somebody's left alone knows Brad. Brad left alone because he
- 34:52Speaker 2: decided to choose no one, Yeah, which is honestly the
- 34:56Speaker 2: craziest I've ever heard in my life. He couldn't even
- 35:00Speaker 2: pull a loom poblo and was like, I'd like to
- 35:02Speaker 2: date h so good, But he didn't even want to
- 35:06Speaker 2: date anyone.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Anybody's like, I don't like any of you. I went
- 35:10Speaker 3: to this whole thing and I did it, and this
- 35:12Speaker 3: sucked the whole time because I wasn't any of you.
- 35:15Speaker 3: But that's my point. Unless he does end up alone,
- 35:18Speaker 3: there's nothing that could play out here that would be revolutionary.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Okay, So I don't think he's going to end up alone.
- 35:25Speaker 2: I think he's going to end up with Kelsey. I
- 35:28Speaker 2: don't know whether or not it's going to be one
- 35:30Speaker 2: of those things that we have to see him like
- 35:33Speaker 2: do off camera, though, because that's what it's alluding to to,
- 35:37Speaker 2: being like one of those situations where like the last
- 35:40Speaker 2: hour is like how they got how they made things
- 35:44Speaker 2: work in the real world. I don't know if that's
- 35:47Speaker 2: like my official theory, but like that's if I had
- 35:50Speaker 2: to like put together the pieces from what they're giving us,
- 35:53Speaker 2: it seems like he's going to walk away from the
- 35:55Speaker 2: altar like going after somebody in real life.
- 35:59Speaker 3: I mean, that's always sweet shows he cares. I don't know, Okay,
- 36:04Speaker 3: final thoughts. Could go without the screaming, could go without
- 36:08Speaker 3: their argument, go without the fighting. I do believe we
- 36:11Speaker 3: got some clarity on some situations that existed this season,
- 36:16Speaker 3: but I also believe that it was a confusing path
- 36:22Speaker 3: to getting there because half the time I couldn't understand
- 36:24Speaker 3: anybody and what they were saying. Next episode, we are
- 36:29Speaker 3: excited for. We will be here breaking it down. Then
- 36:32Speaker 3: we'll start bringing on some of the guests from this season,
- 36:34Speaker 3: which is super exciting for us because it was a
- 36:37Speaker 3: very popular season. Kudos to Joey because I do think
- 36:41Speaker 3: something that showed up here was when he was in
- 36:43Speaker 3: front of the women. The women are very supportive of him.
- 36:45Speaker 3: They really liked him. They all had very good things
- 36:48Speaker 3: to say about him. That's not easy to do and
- 36:50Speaker 3: something we have not seen in a long time.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they really wished him well and they were like,
- 36:56Speaker 2: do you have a cousin? Do you have like a
- 36:58Speaker 2: secret long lost brother?
- 37:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really sweet, and I do believe we have
- 37:03Speaker 3: not seen that kind of dynamic amongst the lead since
- 37:06Speaker 3: you Ben, since me, which was so long ago. No,
- 37:13Speaker 3: I mean I think he he did some things that
- 37:17Speaker 3: were really incredible. He was really attuned. A lot of
- 37:21Speaker 3: the women said he made them feel heard. I think
- 37:24Speaker 3: all those things are great, and so we wish him
- 37:26Speaker 3: the best. We wish these ladies the best. We wish
- 37:28Speaker 3: that they have a lot of fun with this next
- 37:30Speaker 3: chapter of their experience in the show. And we'll be
- 37:35Speaker 3: excited for next week. So until next week, I've Been Ben.
