- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, it was a great game in November. That gives
- 0:04Speaker 1: you an idea of all the things that you did
- 0:07Speaker 1: well and the things that you need to work on.
- 0:08Speaker 1: They're a very good team, really good team, and there's
- 0:13Speaker 1: a lot of we can learn from it.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And I have to say, like, wow, the way your
- 0:17Speaker 2: team came out, the defense looked did everything needed to
- 0:21Speaker 2: be done, controlling the boards and so a great start.
- 0:24Speaker 2: And what do you think was the difference the third quarter?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Was it halftime came and if it didn't have halftime,
- 0:30Speaker 2: it doesn't even become that.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Show, you know. I think in the first half we
- 0:33Speaker 1: had we were able to get out and transition, and
- 0:35Speaker 1: they made an adjustment and played zone, and it took
- 0:38Speaker 1: us a while to get comfortable against the zone. And
- 0:41Speaker 1: because they started making more shots, they were able to
- 0:43Speaker 1: come back into their zone defense and we missed a
- 0:47Speaker 1: lot of shots. We had open looks, so stuff that
- 0:50Speaker 1: we can work on. But it was definitely I thought
- 0:52Speaker 1: there's zone that caused a little bit of an issue
- 0:54Speaker 1: for us in the second half.
- 0:56Speaker 2: But when push came to shove and you came out
- 0:58Speaker 2: of a timeout, it seemed that you got they executed
- 1:01Speaker 2: what you wanted. You actually had the high low down
- 1:03Speaker 2: to Sarah and get the basket that you wanted.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah, well we did. You know, we had some really
- 1:09Speaker 1: good looks. We took some quick shots. You know this
- 1:12Speaker 1: this we're still a team with a lot of new pieces,
- 1:16Speaker 1: you know, so we're starting to trying to figure all
- 1:18Speaker 1: that out on the fly against a really, really good team.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So I thought Azy Fudd came up big just knocking
- 1:25Speaker 1: in threes and then making the free throws down the stretch.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Just a lot of stuff we can learn from, you know,
- 1:31Speaker 1: our defense, you know, some of our switching, you know,
- 1:34Speaker 1: giving up threes key, you know, and key moments are
- 1:37Speaker 1: to their best three point shooters or things that we
- 1:39Speaker 1: have to that we can work on, and they're you know,
- 1:41Speaker 1: that's teachable things that we can get better at, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: we will.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And I think you're saying like the highs and the
- 1:46Speaker 2: lowest because quite a few the majority of the game,
- 1:49Speaker 2: they did do a really good and changing and talking
- 1:53Speaker 2: and you saw like rate where they needed to be.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And then there is always those a couple of times
- 1:57Speaker 2: where you're like, oh.
- 1:59Speaker 1: That you can't figuregure out why we would change how
- 2:01Speaker 1: we were doing it. For the majority of the game
- 2:03Speaker 1: to then not to it that way. But you know,
- 2:06Speaker 1: like I said, it's a teachable moment, a lot of
- 2:09Speaker 1: teachable moments. Will get a chance to look at the
- 2:11Speaker 1: film tomorrow, go through some stuff and get ready for Utah.
- 2:16Speaker 1: But this was you know, this was a game that
- 2:18Speaker 1: in the end we could have lost that game, but
- 2:21Speaker 1: you know, to our kids' credit. I mean, Sarah Strong
- 2:24Speaker 1: was amazing on the backboard with twenty rebounds. I think
- 2:26Speaker 1: she had eleven and she had a double double at halftime.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But we need more, you know, we need more people
- 2:31Speaker 1: rebounding the ball. Their guards were rebounding. We need to
- 2:33Speaker 1: do a much better job with that. Just a lot
- 2:35Speaker 1: of stuff that we can get better at.
- 2:37Speaker 2: So an overall, as you mentioned this time of the year,
- 2:39Speaker 2: it's perfect game to be to be a check in
- 2:42Speaker 2: and gets everybody, not necessarily the coaches get you know,
- 2:47Speaker 2: see the ugly of it. But what a game for
- 2:49Speaker 2: women's basketball.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Well, I think you can learn a lot more from
- 2:52Speaker 1: a game like this than you can if you're you're
- 2:54Speaker 1: up by forty. So this was a great game for
- 2:57Speaker 1: us to have. And that's why we schedule teams like this,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and that's why we play the schedule we do so
- 3:03Speaker 1: that we can have these opportunities so that we can improve.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And we can see it's right there in the face
- 3:08Speaker 1: on the film. You can see what those things are
- 3:11Speaker 1: that we have to improve on.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And it's always nice too that you only have a
- 3:14Speaker 2: day off. Maybe not for coaches in game preparation, let
- 3:17Speaker 2: me rephrase it, but as a player, they know that
- 3:19Speaker 2: you get to get back out on Sunday and yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 2: get performers step up on some of those things.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, we have an opportunity to go through some things
- 3:26Speaker 1: tomorrow and then get a chance to play you tom
- 3:28Speaker 1: I'm sure you know they had a disappointing loss today,
- 3:32Speaker 1: so I'm sure they're going to be ready, So will
- 3:34Speaker 1: we all right?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Well, thanks Daily Report.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yes, thank you. Back to you, Bob.
