- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Are you wondering what to write about?
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Look no further than your own skills and talents.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Another way to say this is what comes easy to you?
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: What seems obvious to you?
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: What could you do in your sleep and still be better than 99% of people?
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Those are the things you should be writing about.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: When something comes easy to you, it might seem like it's easy for everybody else, but that's not true.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: What's easy for you is oftentimes hard for a lot of other people.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once said, give what you have to someone it may be better than you dare to think.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So don't ignore your skills, your wisdom, your knowledge, and your experience as writing topics.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Those are the very things you should write about because you have a perspective that other people need.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Here's today's challenge.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Write down three things that come easy to you.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: How could you write about those skills or abilities?
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: A big thanks to today's sponsor, Thumbprint Creative.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: You've probably heard the saying, don't judge a book by its cover.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: But in the book world, it's absolutely not true.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: People do judge the quality of the book by its cover, and in fact, the cover design is the first thing people notice about a book.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: That's why my graphic designer of choice is Christy Griffith, owner of Thumbprint Creative.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: I've worked with Christy for many years, and she's designed covers and interior layouts for my own books, my ghostwriting clients, as well as lots of books for friends that I've sent her away.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Christy works closely with you to design a layout that perfectly captures the theme and genre of the book.
