- 1:10Speaker 1: We can that you'd like us to talk about Bustin Bill.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Happened Michigan won the game. We'll get into that game.
- 1:18Speaker 1: How we both feel about the game, because I'm sure
- 1:20Speaker 1: there's a lot of things in Nebraska side they'd be like,
- 1:21Speaker 1: we're really happy about this, and there's a lot of
- 1:23Speaker 1: things on Michigan side that you can be like, yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 1: we got to be better at X, Y and Z. However,
- 1:27Speaker 1: the game ended up Michigan twenty Nebraska. Oh sorry, Michigan
- 1:31Speaker 1: thirty Nebraska twenty seven. And the only question I have
- 1:35Speaker 1: for my co host is will who won the nineteen
- 1:36Speaker 1: ninety seven national Championship.
- 1:39Speaker 2: The Michigan Wolverines.
- 1:40Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:50Speaker 3: As you guys know, we decided to increase the stakes
- 1:54Speaker 3: with our friends over at FanDuel and we will be
- 1:57Speaker 3: making a donation with fan Duel to tailor's charity of choice.
- 2:01Speaker 1: That is correct, and since.
- 2:03Speaker 3: The Wolverines rained victorious, we've decided to donate to Tennessee
- 2:08Speaker 3: Local Food and Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. Tennessee Local
- 2:13Speaker 3: Food is an organization that supports Tennessee's local food networks

- 2:25Speaker 3: part of their Surge Center, assisting individuals who need additional
- 2:28Speaker 3: coaching to ensure they can stay on track and manage
- 2:30Speaker 3: personal and professional changes. Thanks to our friends and FanDuel
- 2:34Speaker 3: for making this donation with us.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Ploy is yours buddy.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, look, I got a bald head. I got a
- 2:45Speaker 2: bald head. It's nice.
- 2:47Speaker 3: I can feel the nice little breeze. All the hand
- 2:50Speaker 3: placement that goes around my head is an interesting feeling
- 2:53Speaker 3: because you feel the cooling sensation. But yeah, man, we
- 3:00Speaker 3: got beat, got beat thirty to twenty seven.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Before we go into the game, what was a conversation
- 3:05Speaker 1: like with your family with your wife?
- 3:07Speaker 3: Charle wanted me to back out. She's like, we got
- 3:11Speaker 3: family photos coming up in a couple weeks.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Did she know about the bet beforehand?
- 3:16Speaker 2: She knew for through our content.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Oh you didn't say, you didn't say at the dinner
- 3:20Speaker 1: table and go hey, just so you know no, no, okay,
- 3:25Speaker 1: all right, no, and so, but she knew before the
- 3:28Speaker 1: game took place that you made this bet. Oh, this
- 3:30Speaker 1: bet was on the table.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, the night before when we were talking
- 3:32Speaker 3: about it. Yeah, she understood what was what was at stake.
- 3:37Speaker 3: And I'm like, sweetheart, don't even worry about it. I'm
- 3:39Speaker 3: not losing this hair. And yeah, after like yesterday, she
- 3:45Speaker 3: was like, you know, you can just back out. You
- 3:48Speaker 3: just don't have to do it. I'm like, Sweeter, I know,
- 3:51Speaker 3: but I made a bet. I got to keep that bet.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Got to keep that promise, got to keep that bet.
- 3:56Speaker 3: She's like, I feel like you're just you're only doing
- 3:58Speaker 3: it because of the shame you'd face. I'm like, Sweeter,
- 4:00Speaker 3: I made a bet. I lost the bet. I gotta
- 4:03Speaker 3: shave my head. It's coming off tomorrow. Yeah, it's coming
- 4:06Speaker 3: off tomorrow morning.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It's a good lesson for you to teach your wife. Yeah,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and a great lesson that your kids will see. Yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 1: they might not recognize you, rue might cry, but she'll
- 4:14Speaker 1: know that her dad's a man of his word. Yeah,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and that's what's the most important.
- 4:18Speaker 2: You keep your bets in this house.
- 4:19Speaker 1: You keep your bets.
- 4:20Speaker 2: You gotta pay your debts.
- 4:22Speaker 1: No doubt the wife, she.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Might she might end up liking it. I feel like,
- 4:26Speaker 2: just do the ball.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Look, I've got a couple of minutes of extra stamming
- 4:29Speaker 3: up bruin, and I mean, I just feel like you
- 4:31Speaker 3: just get some little extra juice in the system.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You've dropped like three percent body fat since you got
- 4:35Speaker 1: that haircut. You just look you look tighter, were put together.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Do you want to talk about the game, Yeah, we can
- 4:41Speaker 1: talk about the game. Also, shout out Sonny for these shoes.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Michigan gave me these dunks.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Just in general.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Even when I went into the locker room, you had
- 4:50Speaker 3: a hit a little like a backpack, one of those
- 4:53Speaker 3: little baggies. Well yeah, he's I don't even worre there's
- 4:55Speaker 3: not even a Michigan emblem in this bag because I
- 4:57Speaker 3: just wanted to give you something.
- 5:00Speaker 1: He really is awesome. He always thinks to the boys,
- 5:02Speaker 1: we hold up that shirt that I wanted you to
- 5:03Speaker 1: it for the show. Fully understand why you don't wear this.
- 5:06Speaker 1: But right now there's a push.
- 5:08Speaker 3: All to say, the only reason I don't want to
- 5:10Speaker 3: wear this is it's just this is the this two
- 5:12Speaker 3: classic I got, Yeah, I brought out I got your classic,
- 5:14Speaker 3: I got the change.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yeah you've changed. All you need is a cubic scronium
- 5:19Speaker 1: earring now and I think you'll be dialed one side only.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But this, so Sonny gave me this, and this is
- 5:25Speaker 1: Michigan's one and fifteenth win in program history. They put
- 5:29Speaker 1: these stickers on the helmets when you get a win,
- 5:31Speaker 1: big blog, big catch, touchdowns, those types of things. And
- 5:34Speaker 1: so there's a press for them to put the bust
- 5:37Speaker 1: and bull sticker on the helmets. And I hope they
- 5:40Speaker 1: go through that. That would be really cool because a big
- 5:42Speaker 1: conversation and this was that would be sick. Yeah, it'll
- 5:44Speaker 1: be sick. How do you make this this rivalry reel?
- 5:47Speaker 1: How do you make this trophy game real? And the
- 5:49Speaker 1: most simple answer is Nebraska wins this game. Obviously, I'm
- 5:53Speaker 1: torn because at some point in Nebraska does need to
- 5:55Speaker 1: win this game for it to be an actual trophy game.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But with all the stakes, how confident I was, so
- 6:00Speaker 1: my team, not confident. Will wasn't his team. It couldn't
- 6:02Speaker 1: be this time. But if they were to put the stickers,
- 6:04Speaker 1: put it on the helmet, It's like, okay, that makes
- 6:05Speaker 1: it feel a little more real because it's like, you know,
- 6:08Speaker 1: the helmet, the sticker, the bus, the whole thing that
- 6:11Speaker 1: fires me up quite a bit.
- 6:12Speaker 3: And just think about it too, like growing up. Obviously
- 6:14Speaker 3: the buck Geyes have it with their stickers. Yeah, and
- 6:18Speaker 3: but just knowing that Michigan does these stickers on the helmet.
- 6:21Speaker 3: It's just cool that, like busting with the Boys is
- 6:25Speaker 3: on that Michigan helmet.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's awesome because it is. I mean, people love
- 6:29Speaker 1: to hate Michigan, but that helmet, the tradition that comes
- 6:32Speaker 1: to the helmet is just so awesome. Uh, the game
- 6:35Speaker 1: itself will I'll let you have the floor. It was Listen.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I like to think that we handle ourselves game day.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah classy. Yeah, yeah, we were classy. Yeah, we understood
- 6:48Speaker 1: what was going on. Yeah, there was a level of respect.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Both wanted to win.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Both wanted to win. I think during the game there's
- 6:53Speaker 1: a couple of times I walked away I was like,
- 6:55Speaker 1: you guys got to do this, Like I'm also like
- 6:58Speaker 1: watching the game unfolding. You guys do x Y and Z.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I feel you got more success.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I did that like a.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Third time, and like towards like the third quarter and
- 7:05Speaker 1: I could tell Will was not receptive, and then so
- 7:08Speaker 1: I turned to him and go, I'm sorry because at
- 7:10Speaker 1: they say, I'm like trying to I feel the game,
- 7:12Speaker 1: and I'm like, I know that, you know I have.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I have this really strong feeling that mission is going
- 7:17Speaker 1: to be able to pull it out and pull it through.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And I feel like, I don't know if you felt,
- 7:21Speaker 1: but like maybe it was you kind of felt it
- 7:22Speaker 1: getting away from you a little bit as the game
- 7:24Speaker 1: went on.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, there was those moments, especially in the
- 7:28Speaker 3: second half. It's just like you can't get gashed to
- 7:30Speaker 3: a run like that. Yeah, like you got to get
- 7:33Speaker 3: the run fits right. Some of it's schematics, some of
- 7:36Speaker 3: it's you know, hey, just get it. You you have
- 7:38Speaker 3: a play to be made, Like, don't feel the moment
- 7:40Speaker 3: around you be the moment. And yeah, too many chunk plays,
- 7:45Speaker 3: too many big plays. I thought they came out, especially
- 7:48Speaker 3: in those first couple of series where you go for
- 7:50Speaker 3: it on fourth and two and don't get it. You
- 7:51Speaker 3: know your boy loves it, like I want the through
- 7:53Speaker 3: point point Notre Dame Mohouse stated a couple of years ago.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Right, which is exactly what you said to me on
- 7:58Speaker 1: the field.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the second time around you miss a
- 8:02Speaker 3: field goal, and it's like, man, those are good opportunities
- 8:04Speaker 3: just to get on the board and get out front
- 8:06Speaker 3: because we're moving the ball well, getting you know, having
- 8:10Speaker 3: the sack on third down the first was it a
- 8:12Speaker 3: three not the first drive?
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah, backed up quite a bit. Well, yeah, I mean
- 8:18Speaker 1: it was.
- 8:18Speaker 3: A good game, man. I hated that we were giving
- 8:20Speaker 3: up those explosive plays. I hated that we were giving
- 8:23Speaker 3: up those explosive plays. You know, there were times where
- 8:25Speaker 3: it's like Michigan was was out physical in us at
- 8:28Speaker 3: the line of scrimmage. I want to say we gave
- 8:30Speaker 3: up thirty four pressures on the day as an you know,
- 8:33Speaker 3: as an offensive line. Because you think about, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 3: we give up seven sacks, you give up thirty four pressures.
- 8:38Speaker 3: You look at the stats after the game, it's like
- 8:40Speaker 3: we're you know, Dylan still threw for three hundred plus yards.
- 8:43Speaker 3: It just didn't feel like it in the game as
- 8:45Speaker 3: you watching the game.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yeah, because did you watch Pat thing on Sunday?
- 8:50Speaker 2: I watched his I listened to the part where he
- 8:52Speaker 2: was just talking about Lincoln.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Same Okay, I was watched the Michigan Nebraska part and
- 8:56Speaker 1: that was his thing where like the stat line you watched,
- 8:59Speaker 1: Dylan and I threw out the game, like you through
- 9:00Speaker 1: how much because there was like.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, and man, what else was there?
- 9:07Speaker 3: And just like you know, there was at times where
- 9:08Speaker 3: you felt like Michigan could have pulled away and Nebraska
- 9:12Speaker 3: took advantage of bad football being played, which is what
- 9:15Speaker 3: you want to see. It's like, uh, thirty to twenty seven.
- 9:18Speaker 3: You know, it didn't feel as close as it was.
- 9:22Speaker 3: But I loved how the boys they any chance that
- 9:25Speaker 3: they had to get back in the game, it was happening.
- 9:27Speaker 3: And then when you had the opportunity at the end
- 9:29Speaker 3: of the game, like we were still there, and then
- 9:31Speaker 3: you get him into we got you guys into what
- 9:33Speaker 3: like three third and long situations to where you guys
- 9:35Speaker 3: end up converting one more mugged up. We zone out
- 9:38Speaker 3: and it's an inside zone and they get us. You know,
- 9:40Speaker 3: they get a big first down, one's a screen and
- 9:42Speaker 3: Buddy is right there to make the play and blow
- 9:44Speaker 3: it up and he just doesn't make the play to
- 9:46Speaker 3: where it's like you get him on the field and
- 9:48Speaker 3: you might you know, again it would have been a
- 9:50Speaker 3: drive with like what no timeouts or something like that,
- 9:53Speaker 3: But again, you're still in the situation. You're still in
- 9:55Speaker 3: position to win the game. Uh love the fight. Listen,
- 9:59Speaker 3: it's gonna suck the say in this, Uh sit in
- 10:01Speaker 3: this for a bye week, but you gotta you gotta hope.
- 10:04Speaker 3: We just we rain hell on the Michigan State spartans.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Just keeping on the subject of Nebraska, Like there were
- 10:11Speaker 1: multiple times in that game that we all looked at ourselves,
- 10:14Speaker 1: Like I looked at the boys and I was like,
- 10:16Speaker 1: this is where Michigan starts to pull away. And I
- 10:18Speaker 1: think Nebraska teams of the past let that happen a
- 10:22Speaker 1: billion And as much as like you see kind of
- 10:26Speaker 1: the Husker fan base kind of going nuclear about this
- 10:29Speaker 1: is this is Nebraska. Is what we do, like respectfully
- 10:33Speaker 1: and like unbiasedly, Nebraska is a more talented football team
- 10:37Speaker 1: at this point.
- 10:38Speaker 2: That's that is.
- 10:38Speaker 1: That is just the reality, and it's not like meant
- 10:41Speaker 1: to be disrespectful. It is just what it is. We
- 10:43Speaker 1: won the trenches area. But like even through thirty four pressures,
- 10:48Speaker 1: seven seven sacks, at the end of the game, you're
- 10:51Speaker 1: doing an on side kick with an opportunity like it's
- 10:53Speaker 1: a three point game and Nebraska having the ability to
- 10:56Speaker 1: go down and do that. Riola, who's under pressure all
- 11:00Speaker 1: game long, doesn't have time to breathe or anything like that,
- 11:02Speaker 1: still completing seventy one percent of his passes. Massive, Like
- 11:06Speaker 1: the first drive, he's got three guys on him, forty
- 11:09Speaker 1: four is in protection, breaks off a little bit, no
- 11:11Speaker 1: one's got him anymore in protection. He has the wherewithal
- 11:13Speaker 1: to get out of that. Throw it to him and
- 11:15Speaker 1: get an explosive play down the field. Otherwise that drive
- 11:17Speaker 1: is dead. That's the first drive. You know, they throw
- 11:20Speaker 1: a pick, He throws a pick, comes out the.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Next tough pick and great. And you know that was
- 11:25Speaker 3: a great I want to say they were sitting in
- 11:27Speaker 3: cover two, but great play by the corner. Yeah, because
- 11:30Speaker 3: even when you watch that play from the side, it's like,
- 11:32Speaker 3: you know, he's kind of giving him a look like
- 11:34Speaker 3: he was may like he was gonna go in maybe
- 11:36Speaker 3: with with the with the one receiver, and he just
- 11:38Speaker 3: jumps on that out route. Tough pick, tough pick, and
- 11:41Speaker 3: then you get the QB draw where you know Bryce
- 11:44Speaker 3: hits his head on the goalpost.
- 11:46Speaker 1: The next play, Yeah, and it's like as a Michigan fan,
- 11:49Speaker 1: I look at that and I'm like, okay, we you
- 11:52Speaker 1: see the talent on the field, but like if you're
- 11:55Speaker 1: gonna play Ohio State or Pence at these teams or Oregon,
- 11:58Speaker 1: these are these other teams that maybe are at the
- 12:01Speaker 1: same caliber level from a talent standpoint. And again, I'm
- 12:04Speaker 1: not trying to throw shade at Nebraska, it's just kind
- 12:06Speaker 1: of where we're at right now. It's like if you
- 12:08Speaker 1: don't call time out on fourth down and right before
- 12:11Speaker 1: the end of the half, and you're gonna take advantage
- 12:14Speaker 1: of like that, Nebraska played the ball great that hail Mary.
- 12:17Speaker 1: It was a very impressive play, but don't put yourself
- 12:20Speaker 1: in that position. If it's fourth and seventeen, don't do
- 12:23Speaker 1: a taunting because that's a three. And now that ended
- 12:25Speaker 1: up leading to three points. And there's also a lot
- 12:27Speaker 1: of things in the field you see, like the interception
- 12:29Speaker 1: like Hill number twenty, Like he keeps his footing, he
- 12:32Speaker 1: catches that ball clean, that's a six. Right, So there's
- 12:35Speaker 1: a lot of things you look at from a Michigan
- 12:36Speaker 1: standpoint and be like, hey, boys, this is where we
- 12:37Speaker 1: got to get better. But from like Nebraska environment rule
- 12:41Speaker 1: that the players. Like before the game, one kid like
- 12:45Speaker 1: walked by him and said, fuck you, what'd you say?
- 12:49Speaker 1: And he goes, you heard me? And here it was
- 12:51Speaker 1: a little boy. He's like, I don't know. He was
- 12:52Speaker 1: a little white kid. There's like four big offensive linement
- 12:55Speaker 1: around him, and I'm like all right, And one OFFENSI
- 12:57Speaker 1: alignment came and checked me, like you want to be
- 12:58Speaker 1: on our field goal team spring and you don't want it?
- 13:01Speaker 1: Like all of a sudden, you're ryin in Michigan. My buddy,
- 13:04Speaker 1: I went here, I went to this school. He goes, no, man,
- 13:07Speaker 1: you don't you want to be Like you could see
- 13:08Speaker 1: like the Braska was taking a personal fan bases are
- 13:11Speaker 1: coming at my head and it was awesome.
- 13:13Speaker 2: It was.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I walked by the student section without Will around like
- 13:16Speaker 1: a little small group of them see me. They start
- 13:18Speaker 1: booming the shit out of me, and then I got
- 13:20Speaker 1: the whole uh student section booing me loudly and then
- 13:25Speaker 1: goes in a chant that we want Will, we want Will,
- 13:28Speaker 1: and then Will ends up coming over agets in the
- 13:29Speaker 1: student section, like there's an energy in Nebrasket. And if
- 13:32Speaker 1: you're in Nebrasket, it's like, bro, you guys are there.
- 13:35Speaker 1: You guys are there and this is one loss, right,
- 13:38Speaker 1: Like Rayola stud like, you just got to figure out
- 13:42Speaker 1: a way to not average one point four yards per
- 13:44Speaker 1: carry on the ground, and you've got to protect your
- 13:47Speaker 1: offensive line. You can't take that much pressure not moving
- 13:50Speaker 1: the start moving the pocket, throwing, throwing picks and stuff
- 13:53Speaker 1: like that. The and on the Michigan side, for me,
- 13:55Speaker 1: it's like there's a lot of drop balls out there
- 13:58Speaker 1: that you've seen and you're like, man, if we had
- 13:59Speaker 1: this and that had been awesome, And then there's a
- 14:01Speaker 1: couple like a lot of grass, kind of a little dump,
- 14:04Speaker 1: he doesn't catch it, one in the back of the
- 14:05Speaker 1: end zone, hits him right in the hands, doesn't catch it,
- 14:08Speaker 1: and it's like, that's that. Those are the little things
- 14:10Speaker 1: we need for us personally to take that next step
- 14:12Speaker 1: to where we were a couple of years ago where
- 14:13Speaker 1: it's like, hey, this is a team that can't count
- 14:16Speaker 1: them out no matter what. So I thought it was
- 14:19Speaker 1: a great game. I thought it was great. I thought
- 14:21Speaker 1: the fan base was awesome. It just I'm happy to
- 14:25Speaker 1: be sitting on this side.
- 14:27Speaker 2: We'll see you in the Big Ten Championship.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I think your schedule get a little harder.
- 14:33Speaker 2: We can play with anybody. Yeah, you just.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Gotta clean some things up. You gotta fix the line
- 14:41Speaker 3: of scrimmage, gotta have a heart. It's gonna be a
- 14:43Speaker 3: hard couple weeks for those boys, which is a good thing.
- 14:47Speaker 3: And then then yeah, you just gotta clean up some stuff.
- 14:50Speaker 3: And on the run defensive side, you gotta clean up
- 14:53Speaker 3: some stuff. But as far as effort goes, and again
- 14:56Speaker 3: it's like, you know, how did uh you talk about
- 14:58Speaker 3: Dylan's three hundred yards?
- 15:00Speaker 2: How did they come up with three hundred yards? How
- 15:01Speaker 2: are we in the game.
- 15:02Speaker 3: It's like, again the history of the Huskers, that's not
- 15:05Speaker 3: a close game.
- 15:07Speaker 2: You end up not you know, you have like a.
- 15:09Speaker 3: The three and out, but then oh buddy gets a
- 15:11Speaker 3: penalty and you go down and get three out of it.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Would have loved to have seemed seven if my man
- 15:15Speaker 3: didn't step out of the back of the end zone.
- 15:19Speaker 3: But this is look, losses teach you the best lessons.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I think this team will bounce back big time. And
- 15:27Speaker 3: you got you got Michigan State at home. You go
- 15:29Speaker 3: on the road at Maryland, which Maryland is spicy, it
- 15:32Speaker 3: just seems to Wisconsin. You go at Minnesota versus Northwestern
- 15:38Speaker 3: at home, have USC at home, go on the road
- 15:41Speaker 3: to u C.
- 15:42Speaker 2: L A at Penn State, and then you have Iowa.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah. And if you're looking at this and you just
- 15:49Speaker 1: let's just talk Penn State up at Penn State, it's
- 15:52Speaker 1: gonna be very different clim So we'll just let's just
- 15:54Speaker 1: say loss ten and two.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean everything, we everything onees in front.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Of your face right now.
- 16:01Speaker 2: You want it.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It's just getting it done, man, getting it done. Go ahead, sir.
- 16:07Speaker 4: What a rematch in the Big Ten Championship count as
- 16:10Speaker 4: a bust and bowl game?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, I just if we played the
- 16:15Speaker 1: Big Ten Championship and Nebraska won that game, they would
- 16:18Speaker 1: get the trophy.
- 16:19Speaker 3: If if there was one where we played in preseason,
- 16:22Speaker 3: we scrimmaged in the springtime.
- 16:23Speaker 2: That's the bust.
- 16:28Speaker 1: We just sit our guys, was like, let's go get
- 16:31Speaker 1: this one. You're out there, Johnson, You're out there. Get
- 16:34Speaker 1: at there, boys.
- 16:35Speaker 3: The many the mini busting Trophy sits in Lincoln.
- 16:38Speaker 2: This is me are killing the team. They had.
- 16:40Speaker 3: They had a bust and bowl. The equipment teams played
- 16:42Speaker 3: each other the night before and Nebraska took that one.
- 16:45Speaker 5: Hold won the real one too.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Uh, the the equipment guys too. I didn't I don't
- 16:51Speaker 1: know the score of that game, but it sounded like
- 16:53Speaker 1: it was a schlacking. Yeah, okay, all right, double digit
- 16:58Speaker 1: double digit, double digit two score ball game. Yeah, keeping
- 17:01Speaker 1: your power, Yeah, keep being the Big ten. Dude on
- 17:04Speaker 1: the locker room college fumble locker room. I sat there
- 17:06Speaker 1: and I was like, Brett Beilama, Illinois, they are going
- 17:09Speaker 1: to handle business. Indiana. I'm not so sold on them.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Indiana is putting themselves in that upper middle class version
- 17:16Speaker 1: of the Big Ten right now, possibly being able to
- 17:18Speaker 1: be a playoff team yet again. They beat these shit
- 17:21Speaker 1: at Illinois sixty three to ten, Indiana or yeah, no, Illinois,
- 17:25Speaker 1: I'm back. I'm back. Their quarterback five touchdowns, like, dude,
- 17:31Speaker 1: and now he's the heis Mendoze, He's now the Heisman favorite.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Like I got to put that game film on and
- 17:36Speaker 1: see what really happened, because I'm looking at that game
- 17:39Speaker 1: and it's like Illinois plus five and a half. I'm
- 17:42Speaker 1: thinking about Bretley bi Lama. What's always on my mind?
- 17:44Speaker 1: Brett bi Lama, Wiscon's In twenty twelve Bay Baked Championship
- 17:48Speaker 1: because Will is always bringing it up and I'm thinking,
- 17:50Speaker 1: this is this is gonna happen in Champagne into that program.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It was impressive, man, to see that. That was, I mean,
- 18:00Speaker 1: good for them. And uh, neither one of our teams
- 18:03Speaker 1: played them this year.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:05Speaker 3: I tried to tell I was saying too ay when
- 18:09Speaker 3: Nebraska went out to Indiana last year, Bloomington on a
- 18:12Speaker 3: sunny day, Bro, they could work you and that is
- 18:16Speaker 3: what they did.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it was Uh, it was a deal.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I think it's it's crazy too. He's the favorite. Mendoz
- 18:24Speaker 3: is the favorite now with the Heisman's nuts to me crazy.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I mean, I haven't watched the Oklahoma Auburn game, but
- 18:30Speaker 1: it seems like they were given a couple may.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Substitution. I did not know.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I have not actually seen one snap at all from
- 18:38Speaker 1: that game. I need to go back and watch.
- 18:39Speaker 2: It, buddy.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Apparently you can't use this substitution to like, you know,
- 18:44Speaker 3: for deception, for like a trick play. And what they
- 18:47Speaker 3: essentially did is he's coming off the field, but a
- 18:49Speaker 3: receiver just sits down there at the bottom of the screen,
- 18:51Speaker 3: so they think he's off like it's a substitution, and
- 18:53Speaker 3: so nobody lines up on him and they just throw
- 18:55Speaker 3: it out there to him.
- 18:56Speaker 2: They get a touchdown.
- 18:57Speaker 6: It's like a nuts trick play, like field goal. Yeah,
- 19:00Speaker 6: he's just on the sideline and they just kind of throw.
- 19:03Speaker 1: It and they counted it. It was good.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 6: But like and then Hugh free Yeah, Hugh free Hugh
- 19:09Speaker 6: Freeze was going crazy.
- 19:11Speaker 2: They were going ave ship, Bro.
- 19:13Speaker 3: You can't do like in offensive and defensively, like you
- 19:16Speaker 3: can't manipulate the substitution rule for like a trick play.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah that hey get it. How you live? How
- 19:26Speaker 1: you live.
- 19:27Speaker 7: I saw the question to John Materiers, like what's that.
- 19:30Speaker 7: What's the difference between you and Johnny Manziel.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I got a church.
- 19:33Speaker 5: I'm going to church tomorrow.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Did you hear Johnny Manziel on Nightcap?
- 19:37Speaker 7: I heard some clips but not about in response.
- 19:39Speaker 2: But he had a very good response.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I thought he had a great about how he like
- 19:45Speaker 3: he grew up going to church and he's like, you know,
- 19:47Speaker 3: I see what he's doing, and you know, good for him.
- 19:49Speaker 2: It's like he's.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Playing really good ball. Oklahoma's got an awesome football team.
- 19:52Speaker 3: He's like, I think it like from his perspective, he's like,
- 19:56Speaker 3: you know, all these years later, like just getting to
- 19:58Speaker 3: still be in conversations about what I did on the Football.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Show, how much Johnny did in football.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like, so that's cool, but a very humbling,
- 20:06Speaker 3: very good perspective time answer, and then giving John Matier
- 20:09Speaker 3: all the flowers.
- 20:11Speaker 7: There are other good clips from that.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's growth. That's growth.
- 20:17Speaker 1: And it seems like Johnny's found himself a new a
- 20:19Speaker 1: new layer of depth. He's just he's really handling it well.
- 20:23Speaker 1: He's getting in the world that he knows balls. I'm
- 20:25Speaker 1: sure he sits with himself a lot now because we
- 20:27Speaker 1: had him on the bus and he sat there and
- 20:29Speaker 1: told us I have no regrets, And I remember sitting
- 20:31Speaker 1: there just thinking to myself, buddy, you've got to You've
- 20:34Speaker 1: got to because you you he fumbled a serious situation
- 20:38Speaker 1: that like you can never get back now. And for
- 20:41Speaker 1: him to sit there and have a growth and not
- 20:42Speaker 1: get triggered by John Matteer's comments like he's gonna be
- 20:45Speaker 1: all right, And that's awesome to see because you always want,
- 20:48Speaker 1: you know, you want to work out for everybody.
- 20:49Speaker 2: You want to know what's gonna be fun. Is this
- 20:52Speaker 2: Red River rivalry coming?
- 20:53Speaker 5: Up.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, finding himself in like a villain situation out.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Who does Texas and Oklahoma have this week? Yeah? Can
- 21:05Speaker 2: you find that out?
- 21:06Speaker 1: While he's finding that too?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that was so dumb him standing over old buddy
- 21:12Speaker 2: in the end zone.
- 21:13Speaker 6: It's just Sam Houston State like.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Listen powers back right exactly. You gotta you had to
- 21:23Speaker 1: in his money, He's like, I gotta get the week
- 21:25Speaker 1: to give me some power so I can go other
- 21:27Speaker 1: people's dreams, more powerful people. And it's like, I see it.
- 21:30Speaker 1: It's like I understand why he did it.
- 21:31Speaker 7: He probably looks back and is like, damn that that's
- 21:35Speaker 7: not a good look.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I think he addressed it in his press conference here
- 21:37Speaker 1: they asked him about and he's like, yeah, my mom,
- 21:39Speaker 1: give me an ear for about it. Already give me
- 21:40Speaker 1: here for He's like, that was probably a little overboard,
- 21:42Speaker 1: Like it was very uncharacteristic of what we believe our's
- 21:45Speaker 1: character is. And at the end of the day, it's like, yeah,
- 21:49Speaker 1: emotions take over. I'm sure, like if we're just in
- 21:52Speaker 1: his head for a little bit, how loud the noises.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Heisman front runner at the end of the season, has
- 21:57Speaker 1: a bad gave me as Ahio State doesn't show a
- 21:58Speaker 1: whole lot against Cupcakes. It's like he wants to get
- 22:01Speaker 1: something going, and it's very difficult to like not show
- 22:04Speaker 1: that fiery emotion when things are not going your way.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Texas place Florida and ou place Kent State. I mean,
- 22:13Speaker 1: it'd be a good test.
- 22:14Speaker 2: For honestly, Florida animal.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, yeah, billion Nippers living on borrowed
- 22:19Speaker 1: time right now.
- 22:20Speaker 7: They did Miami score late.
- 22:24Speaker 3: They'll be to Yeah, Miami scored late. That was again
- 22:27Speaker 3: another one. It's like being uh when we were just
- 22:29Speaker 3: being at the Bust ball and then we didn't have
- 22:30Speaker 3: Wi Fi on the plane back. We weren't able just
- 22:32Speaker 3: to keep up with everything that was going on, which
- 22:35Speaker 3: that was kind of the hard part, which was the
- 22:37Speaker 3: tough part because you see, it's like when you see
- 22:39Speaker 3: Maryland blowout Wisconsin, you see missoo uh in South Carolina playing,
- 22:43Speaker 3: You're wanting to watch that game. All these games going
- 22:46Speaker 3: on Auburn, Oklahoma, You're hearing about it, and you just
- 22:48Speaker 3: can't check the clips and the highlights of everything happening.
- 22:51Speaker 2: That was hard. And then you were like Indiana's beating
- 22:53Speaker 2: these ship out.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Of wonder, how how is this going?
- 22:56Speaker 7: Down, like the end of the Memphis Arkansas game was
- 22:58Speaker 7: apparent Memphis beating in Arkansas.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Crazy because we were it was the bust and Bowl
- 23:02Speaker 1: wall like that game was going on. While that game
- 23:04Speaker 1: was on, that.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Game that was kind of did you guys watch any
- 23:08Speaker 6: of it? And were you able to watch it?
- 23:09Speaker 2: Which game?
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yeah, Memphis Arkansas? You know, like exactly what we'll say
- 23:13Speaker 1: is like no Wi Fi in the plane. Then you
- 23:15Speaker 1: get home and it's like Sunday, it's like family until noon,
- 23:18Speaker 1: and then you got to watch NFL.
- 23:19Speaker 2: And I'll tell you this too.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I don't know how you felt, but I was exhausted
- 23:24Speaker 3: when I got home, emotionally, physically, spiritually, like exhausted.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I couldn't wait to go to.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I felt great. I was tired the next morning a
- 23:35Speaker 1: little bit, but like my knee was hurting a little bit.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I'm saying that fucking turf the whole time.
- 23:40Speaker 3: We like, I'm sure all that pain would have been
- 23:42Speaker 3: gone if it was the Yeah, if I was in
- 23:44Speaker 3: the winning situation.
- 23:45Speaker 2: But I was just exhausting.
- 23:47Speaker 1: So I'm sitting there and like I remember sitting on
- 23:48Speaker 1: the plane like trying to contain my own excitement because
- 23:51Speaker 1: I could see you. I'm literally sitting across from you.
- 23:57Speaker 1: But at the same time, thing myself, God, we won
- 24:00Speaker 1: that game.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I thought I was gonna get to kick my legs
- 24:02Speaker 3: up for the flight home. I'm trying to get comfy.
- 24:04Speaker 2: He's like, Hey, I'm just gonna see it for a second.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna go back and then yeah, and then we
- 24:06Speaker 1: get a Cole Pump pay is You're right.
- 24:09Speaker 6: Going back to the Memphis Arkansas game, there was a
- 24:12Speaker 6: offensive pass interference or a defensive pass interference that like
- 24:15Speaker 6: flip the game. Uh, but like the dB like he
- 24:19Speaker 6: didn't turn around or anything, but the wide receiver like
- 24:21Speaker 6: put his arms out and let like level the dB
- 24:25Speaker 6: and he caught the ball for a touchdown. But they
- 24:27Speaker 6: called DPI rather than OPI, and it was like, how
- 24:30Speaker 6: is this even allowed? Like it the It was one
- 24:34Speaker 6: of the worst calls I've seen in a very long time.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Dud.
- 24:36Speaker 1: DPI and OPR are such so weird because it's like
- 24:39Speaker 1: you teach the defender like you save yourself by turning
- 24:42Speaker 1: back to the football. Anytime your back is away like
- 24:45Speaker 1: towards the receiver and not the ball, like a lot
- 24:46Speaker 1: of times you're gonna get called and then a receiver.
- 24:49Speaker 1: It's like if if it's a shorter throw, you got
- 24:51Speaker 1: to come back into the guy to make it feel
- 24:53Speaker 1: like something. So yeah, that sucks. I want to see
- 24:56Speaker 1: that play for sure, because I mean I thought the
- 24:58Speaker 1: Razorbacks were gonna cond be something this year.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Yeah, they looked good in both of their losses these
- 25:05Speaker 4: last two weeks. But I mean the offense looks good.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Offense looks good. What happened to Baylor just.
- 25:14Speaker 1: That's what happened to Baylor.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Asu and Baylor just cannot stop the run. We cannot
- 25:19Speaker 4: stop the run.
- 25:20Speaker 1: And that running back I think he's like seven or
- 25:21Speaker 1: eight in the nation and rushing right now like four
- 25:24Speaker 1: hundred something yards like he's he's a stud, that brown kid.
- 25:27Speaker 4: And we packed the box. It doesn't matter. Can't stop
- 25:30Speaker 4: the run. We can score points. Our quarterback is great,
- 25:34Speaker 4: and we fought to get back and tie the game
- 25:37Speaker 4: with like a minute left, and then as U just
- 25:40Speaker 4: handed the ball off, handed the ball off the game
- 25:43Speaker 4: winning field goals.
- 25:44Speaker 2: It's all right.
- 25:45Speaker 1: It stings, It stings, but it's also like, as a
- 25:49Speaker 1: I guess an ASU fan, I'm like, hey, good for
- 25:51Speaker 1: them getting back on track, because everyone as soon as
- 25:53Speaker 1: Mississi Mississippi State game happened, everyone's kind of like, all right,
- 25:56Speaker 1: we're done with ASU, just move on. Immediately more scared.
- 26:01Speaker 4: As soon as I saw that game, I saw that
- 26:02Speaker 4: we were up next on their schedule, and I went
- 26:04Speaker 4: fuck because they're gonna come back with.
- 26:06Speaker 1: They should have won that game too, Yeah, they should
- 26:09Speaker 1: have beat Mississippi State and they going fucking zero again. Yeah,
- 26:12Speaker 1: so I know we already broke that down. Uh GP,
- 26:14Speaker 1: I let you get your comments on Clemson Verus Syracuse.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Clemson lose loses thirty four to twenty one to Fran
- 26:21Speaker 1: Brown and the boys up in the Northeast.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Fran Brown I tried talking about earlier. Yeah, yeah, did.
- 26:26Speaker 5: They got fined for injuries? For faking injuries?
- 26:30Speaker 2: Syracuset?
- 26:30Speaker 5: Yeah, twenty five thousand smart whatever.
- 26:33Speaker 1: It was probably smart.
- 26:35Speaker 5: Which was poor move by cad like because Syracuse wiped them.
- 26:38Speaker 5: In Caid's press conference after he like immediately brings up
- 26:41Speaker 5: the injuries and it's like, dude, you can't point the
- 26:44Speaker 5: finger if you lose by that much. It sucks because
- 26:48Speaker 5: normally this would be awesome, but we've lost every single
- 26:50Speaker 5: week Clemson has lost. So but what I will say, Dabo,
- 26:54Speaker 5: you see him like crying on the field and everything
- 26:56Speaker 5: I did.
- 26:56Speaker 2: He did it a couple times. Any get emotional in
- 26:58Speaker 2: the Yeah.
- 26:59Speaker 1: You saw that coming to this press conference earlier in
- 27:01Speaker 1: the week.
- 27:02Speaker 5: But dude, I'm telling you, if Clemson fires him, which
- 27:05Speaker 5: I don't think they will because it's he has a
- 27:07Speaker 5: massive buyout, but if they fire him, it will send
- 27:10Speaker 5: them back thirty years with their program.
- 27:13Speaker 2: You know how.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Similar comment to that was Dave.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Dave was on biing newon Kickoff saying the same thing, like,
- 27:19Speaker 1: you forget, dude, Like the standard for Clemson is very
- 27:21Speaker 1: high because of the success they've had in the last
- 27:23Speaker 1: ten years, but you forget where you're at before that,
- 27:26Speaker 1: no one talks about, no one cared about Clemson.
- 27:28Speaker 5: Exactly brought and the roster is good. So he's truly
- 27:33Speaker 5: one coordinator higher away from like Clemson being good again.
- 27:37Speaker 5: But the fans are fed up and fed up.
- 27:39Speaker 3: He doesn't help himself when he has those quotes of
- 27:43Speaker 3: like why is our standard? Why why don't you compare
- 27:45Speaker 3: our standard to people who don't win nothing. It's like, bro,
- 27:47Speaker 3: because you have a standard, exactly, you're you're in that category.
- 27:51Speaker 3: You're in the tier one category. You are a top dollar.
- 27:54Speaker 5: He like, he's the only national championship coach that plays
- 27:57Speaker 5: a victim card. H It's like, dude, you one too, Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 5: got two of them. You want to like, you should
- 28:03Speaker 5: be full ownership, full accountability. There will be a statue
- 28:06Speaker 5: what anybody says because you're so confident in everything you've done.
- 28:10Speaker 5: It doesn't seem confident in the things he's done. And
- 28:11Speaker 5: I'm like, bro, yeah, it's you're ruined in your your tenure.
- 28:16Speaker 3: But it's just you. You see press conferences in the
- 28:20Speaker 3: way head coaches like handle those things, and on one
- 28:23Speaker 3: side of the coin, you have the victim or why
- 28:25Speaker 3: are we getting you know what about the standard of
- 28:27Speaker 3: the guy teams? There's so many teams out there who
- 28:29Speaker 3: hadn't won anything, YadA, YadA, YadA. And then you see
- 28:32Speaker 3: it's like a coach Ben Johnson for the Bears where
- 28:35Speaker 3: he's calling out his team. We're not practicing like a
- 28:38Speaker 3: championship football team right now. That's why you're seeing the
- 28:40Speaker 3: product that we have to where you're kind of pressing
- 28:42Speaker 3: the culture and the process and everything else, because that's
- 28:45Speaker 3: how that's how psychotic you should be about what your
- 28:47Speaker 3: standard is right, right, and he doesn't seem to do that.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I get the Hey, you want to fire me, I'll
- 28:52Speaker 3: go win somewhere else. Like if you feel the pressure,
- 28:54Speaker 3: you kind of address that when you're talking about, Hey,
- 28:57Speaker 3: you're losing. You don't want to go to You know,
- 29:00Speaker 3: why are you so hard on me when there's a
- 29:02Speaker 3: bunch of programs out of here who don't win a lot?
- 29:03Speaker 3: It's like, bro, because you are a winner.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yourself in the position to be judged.
- 29:08Speaker 3: You don't hit the portal because to you, it's culture,
- 29:11Speaker 3: it's building. Now you have a you're loaded roster of
- 29:14Speaker 3: recruits that you have that are all juniors and seniors,
- 29:16Speaker 3: Like this is the veteran football team that you want
- 29:19Speaker 3: to sit here with with kid club nick at the helm, Like,
- 29:22Speaker 3: this is the roster.
- 29:23Speaker 1: You got the roster and at the be end of
- 29:25Speaker 1: the year, everyone's just like this team, the national championship
- 29:28Speaker 1: caliber team. They're off it'sive line, their defense, they're gonna
- 29:30Speaker 1: be nasty. Like no one saw this coming.
- 29:33Speaker 5: No one saw it coming, No dude, Yeah except for
- 29:36Speaker 5: me and Caid. I thought, I mean, I thought Cad
- 29:40Speaker 5: was going to play better in acc play, but now
- 29:43Speaker 5: I feel for him, like I hate Clemson, but I
- 29:45Speaker 5: also I don't like to see kids just get bashed
- 29:49Speaker 5: in the media. Yeah, and you can tell it's in
- 29:52Speaker 5: his head now and it's like, oh man, this is
- 29:55Speaker 5: you hate to see it get even worse for him
- 29:57Speaker 5: except for us, I hope he has one complete.
- 30:00Speaker 1: You calling Clemson being bad this year. You to Clemson
- 30:04Speaker 1: is like Will to the Chiefs, like eventually you're.
- 30:06Speaker 5: Going to be right one day, I'll be right.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and like to twenty five, you guys are both right, yeah,
- 30:12Speaker 1: both right.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Though only other thing on the negativity stuff with like
- 30:16Speaker 5: Dabo how he's handled himself in the press conferences fans too,
- 30:20Speaker 5: Like I think it's just such a weak way out,
- 30:22Speaker 5: like when your team's doing bad to just start like
- 30:25Speaker 5: turning against everyone else. It's it's just it's like a
- 30:28Speaker 5: coward move. But it's and it's way harder to remain optimistic,
- 30:33Speaker 5: like trust the process. But that's what it takes to succeed.
- 30:37Speaker 5: And everybody hates the hard way.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yeah. So yeah, some of the things, some of the
- 30:42Speaker 1: things that Dabo is saying, I don't it's what I
- 30:46Speaker 1: envision Will talks about towards the end of Bo Polini
- 30:48Speaker 1: was bow handling it the same way as Dabo was
- 30:51Speaker 1: when it was like kind of coming to an end because.
- 30:53Speaker 3: You not not in not in the victim way, but
- 30:55Speaker 3: in the like fuck you want to fire me? I'm
- 30:57Speaker 3: standing right here.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, face yeah. Like with Bo, it.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Wasn't uh, it wasn't this. It's like, yeah, it's like
- 31:07Speaker 3: using this victim card Bo is almost like facing off
- 31:10Speaker 3: against everybody else for us to where you're ready, you
- 31:13Speaker 3: want to you want to get out there and put
- 31:14Speaker 3: a product for coach Bo. Bo just had like a
- 31:18Speaker 3: we're sitting he get it to where it felt like
- 31:20Speaker 3: you're sitting across the table from whether it's the fan base,
- 31:22Speaker 3: national media, But it wasn't like why is our standard
- 31:27Speaker 3: this and that?
- 31:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Close to the y s.
- 31:30Speaker 3: There were no tears there, there's no crying bo Pline,
- 31:33Speaker 3: there were no tears. He's taking his hat off. He's
- 31:36Speaker 3: got photos out there where it seems like he's swinging
- 31:38Speaker 3: a hat trying to hit a referee. The crazy Youngstown mafia,
- 31:47Speaker 3: the crazy part about Bo Poline. He's firing just looking
- 31:50Speaker 3: back retroactively, is the record never lost or like he
- 31:55Speaker 3: never went. That's what people That's what people are saying.
- 31:57Speaker 3: If you get into this world, the firing Dabbo, you're
- 31:59Speaker 3: gonna to set a program back because it's like you
- 32:02Speaker 3: look back on it, we lost games we should not
- 32:04Speaker 3: have lost. And then when we were on the big stage,
- 32:07Speaker 3: the big thing Championship that I recall a lot is
- 32:09Speaker 3: like you, we would get blown out to where it
- 32:12Speaker 3: felt embarrassing. So that's what the fans, that's what ultimately
- 32:15Speaker 3: pushed him out. And then you see what happened after
- 32:17Speaker 3: that because you had a really good head coach who
- 32:20Speaker 3: understood culture, who understood all these things. That's kind of
- 32:24Speaker 3: the that's what you'd be doing if you're Clemson, the
- 32:26Speaker 3: firing Dabbo, Like, yes, they are off to a terrible start.
- 32:29Speaker 3: We're starting his career there, but you look at what
- 32:32Speaker 3: he's done and it's like, bro, it's the grass ain't
- 32:36Speaker 3: always greener.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Imagine where and.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I do believe Rule is the guy. Like I think
- 32:40Speaker 1: Nebraska's on a fast track to becoming a prominent program again,
- 32:44Speaker 1: but imagine where Nebraska would be a Bojas state.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you didn't have to go through those other
- 32:51Speaker 2: two probably, Yeah, we have a dynasty.
- 32:55Speaker 1: He would be the chiefs of college football.
- 32:59Speaker 5: That's what I mean. It's like for certain programs and
- 33:02Speaker 5: certain coaches, like for Dabo, it's like the famous quote
- 33:05Speaker 5: of you can't think in days, you have to think
- 33:07Speaker 5: in decades. Yeah, it's like, are you gonna let this
- 33:09Speaker 5: one bad season? It's like Florida State last year they
- 33:12Speaker 5: wanted Mike Norvel gone. Now this year, Florida State is
- 33:15Speaker 5: one of the better teams, and it's like one.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Of the better teams, and the team you're a higher
- 33:20Speaker 3: two away from the whole thing turn around. As long
- 33:22Speaker 3: as you got the talent on the roster, you feel
- 33:24Speaker 3: good about the talent.
- 33:25Speaker 1: And it's like the noise to Dabo is like, yeah,
- 33:27Speaker 1: it could just truly be noise, Like the fans could
- 33:29Speaker 1: be mad, and if he just handles it differently, it
- 33:32Speaker 1: could go away quickly, even if they don't want a
- 33:34Speaker 1: game the rest of the year. It's like, yeah, we
- 33:36Speaker 1: fucked up, but like, hey, let me just show you
- 33:38Speaker 1: this resume real quick. Culture culture, Culture is gonna figure
- 33:41Speaker 1: this out. The next year goes the same way, then
- 33:43Speaker 1: you got to get him out of there. But yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 1: it's tough.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Man, what's going on? In South Carolina, a.
- 33:50Speaker 5: Whole lot of bad tackling. Oh we had I think
- 33:53Speaker 5: a forty grade of forty five on our tackling. Wen
- 33:56Speaker 5: we didn't get to watch the game. The first text
- 33:59Speaker 5: I see on the lane was my mom saying, horrible game.
- 34:02Speaker 5: Nothing to be positive about that before I even saw
- 34:05Speaker 5: the score. And my mom is the opposite of me
- 34:08Speaker 5: when we watch a game like we could be winning
- 34:10Speaker 5: twenty one zero and have a bad place should be.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Why do they do that? I'm like, Mom, you just
- 34:15Speaker 5: gotta you gotta relax. But it's the tackling, dude, the
- 34:19Speaker 5: tackling and the penalties. I think we had eighteen penalties
- 34:22Speaker 5: and still only lost by whatever it was, nine points.
- 34:27Speaker 5: So it's frustrating because it's like, can you just clean
- 34:30Speaker 5: up half of it and then you can find some wins.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Receivers are starting to show some promise to younger guys,
- 34:36Speaker 5: but it's the it's all the little crap of it.
- 34:39Speaker 1: And you you we watched the game.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Yeah, just like the not the full entire thing, but
- 34:44Speaker 5: like the moment.
- 34:46Speaker 8: How was that?
- 34:46Speaker 1: If it's a line in those recaps you saw.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that's I guess I forgot to mention we had
- 34:51Speaker 5: negative like twenty rushing yards. Yeah, yeah, negative twenty rushing yards,
- 34:57Speaker 5: eighteen penalties, all these things lost by and we were
- 35:01Speaker 5: winning going into the fourth quarter, which is just in
- 35:05Speaker 5: my head, I'm like, Okay, we're that close, Like if
- 35:08Speaker 5: you fix one of these things, we're winning these games
- 35:10Speaker 5: right right. And so it's tough though, Like but it's
- 35:14Speaker 5: the same thing. You gotta you gotta trust the culture,
- 35:17Speaker 5: Like you can't just lose your head and you just
- 35:19Speaker 5: got trust Beamer. Has the locker room still fired up? Yeah,
- 35:23Speaker 5: you make October magic. Everybody forgets about September.
- 35:27Speaker 1: We sat on the locker room with Josh Pate and
- 35:31Speaker 1: we were talking about the Utah Texas Tech game and
- 35:33Speaker 1: Josh was like, wouldn't it be awesome if one of
- 35:36Speaker 1: these teams blow out the other so it gives like
- 35:38Speaker 1: the Big twelve more of a hey, this is our team. Possibly. Well,
- 35:42Speaker 1: what happened this week? Texas Tech won thirty four to
- 35:45Speaker 1: ten versus Utah and they did it in what three
- 35:48Speaker 1: quarters with their backup quarterback backup quarterback? And so do
- 35:52Speaker 1: we believe in Texas Tech?
- 35:53Speaker 2: Now? Is a question?
- 35:54Speaker 1: Is Texas Tech a contender? Are they the obvious big
- 35:58Speaker 1: twelve team. Are they anything in the playoffs? You're a
- 36:01Speaker 1: big twelve guy. Should's why I'm kind of looking at you.
- 36:04Speaker 4: The thing that I will say about Texas SEC that
- 36:06Speaker 4: they have that they have never really had before is
- 36:09Speaker 4: a defensive line. And Texas heck has always been able
- 36:15Speaker 4: to put up points. Their wide receivers are scary, their
- 36:18Speaker 4: backup quarterbacks putting up numbies like offense looks are great.
- 36:22Speaker 4: But their defense looks really strong. And a lot of
- 36:25Speaker 4: people were talking about that Utah quarterback going into the game.
- 36:29Speaker 4: They had that guy in a blender the entire game.
- 36:33Speaker 4: I can't remember his name to save my life. The
- 36:35Speaker 4: Dan Pierre, Yeah, was playing super solid going into that game,
- 36:39Speaker 4: and then he just looked lost against him.
- 36:42Speaker 3: I mean he is their best player game in passing
- 36:46Speaker 3: and rushing for them. Oh yeah, very salty player and
- 36:50Speaker 3: and texts.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Defensive front is just strong this year. Their linebackers are swarming.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Utah could not do anything offensively, and so that's what
- 37:00Speaker 4: scares me about Tech because you, let's say a team
- 37:03Speaker 4: like Iowa State, a team like Baylor that can put
- 37:06Speaker 4: up points, but do they have that defense? And I
- 37:09Speaker 4: don't think they do. And I think you need that
- 37:12Speaker 4: going into the playoffs and playing some of these SEC
- 37:15Speaker 4: teams that, like we saw with Auburn versus Baylor, they
- 37:19Speaker 4: threw the ball nine times.
- 37:21Speaker 3: You're gonna need it against any of these teams that
- 37:23Speaker 3: come out of the Power for Conferences. It's like acc
- 37:26Speaker 3: they're they're top guys with Miami and Florida State, Georgia Tech.
- 37:31Speaker 3: I know is in the conversation being up there like
- 37:34Speaker 3: you're going to need a like as much of a
- 37:37Speaker 3: complete team as possible because it's not going to just
- 37:39Speaker 3: be shootouts all the time. Yeah, you had big ten
- 37:41Speaker 3: with like Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, and Nebraska. Then in
- 37:45Speaker 3: the SEC you got what you got Georgia, you got
- 37:48Speaker 3: Tennessee potentially Bama. Who else in the SEC? Van put
- 37:56Speaker 3: up seventy Missouri.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it takes my it. They look really good
- 38:04Speaker 1: and you can't go on state to that conversation have
- 38:07Speaker 1: Akade where he's like, if we win the national championship,
- 38:10Speaker 1: you to take the offensive line and diego to Vegas.
- 38:13Speaker 5: You said, yes, yes, yes, their LSU game will be mad.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I looked at him in the eyes, I said, Buddy,
- 38:18Speaker 1: and I have a lot of respect for you, and
- 38:20Speaker 1: I've been where you're at of like seeing your team
- 38:22Speaker 1: and believe I was like, I'm telling you from the
- 38:24Speaker 1: outside perspective, you don't have the team to win a
- 38:25Speaker 1: national championship.
- 38:26Speaker 5: He told everyone that right after too.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I'm sure, buddy, you guys just I love you. Yeah,
- 38:35Speaker 1: it is my my photos in the locker room.
- 38:37Speaker 5: It's like, and I think I'll see your games this week.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Though they got to win that that Michigan bet because
- 38:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to pay. That's a lot of money
- 38:45Speaker 1: to pay for those boys to go to Vegas.
- 38:47Speaker 4: Their schedule is nuts. Their schedule is hard.
- 38:51Speaker 2: How are you feeling about, uh, Michigan for the rest
- 38:54Speaker 2: of the year.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I went back and looked at their their schedule. I
- 38:58Speaker 1: feel very strong about a ten win season. I think
- 39:02Speaker 1: like Maryland's on the schedule that looks pretty spicy. I
- 39:04Speaker 1: think we're gonna learn a lot about them in a
- 39:06Speaker 1: few weeks when they go to USC because they have
- 39:08Speaker 1: to go on the road again. Oh UFC seems like
- 39:10Speaker 1: they have have a lot of potential in there. But
- 39:14Speaker 1: for me, it's like I love to see the passing
- 39:18Speaker 1: game and I feel like we're still Piquel had had
- 39:22Speaker 1: a great take on this. I think we're still seeing
- 39:24Speaker 1: like sixty to seventy five percent of what Michigan could be,
- 39:27Speaker 1: what it really is. They're still like figuring out who
- 39:29Speaker 1: they are. Obviously, they're a very run dominant team. They're
- 39:32Speaker 1: good at running the ball. They do a great job
- 39:34Speaker 1: of like basically holding the control of the game on
- 39:37Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball and the O offos
- 39:39Speaker 1: side of the ball. But I personally, I would love
- 39:41Speaker 1: like seeing Bryce in the flashes, Like I don't think
- 39:45Speaker 1: I've ever been so excited to watch a college football player,
- 39:48Speaker 1: And I'm just waiting for that game where it's like
- 39:51Speaker 1: he's just dicing them up from a like from a
- 39:53Speaker 1: throwing standpoint. That's what gets me excited. So the results
- 39:58Speaker 1: of this year, I could definitely see eleven and one,
- 40:01Speaker 1: ten and two. A lot of things, like we have
- 40:02Speaker 1: to our gameplay has to get better. But like just
- 40:06Speaker 1: taking this game like on the road, like you leave
- 40:08Speaker 1: a lot of points on the board, You give up
- 40:10Speaker 1: a lot of points to just bad football and bad
- 40:13Speaker 1: game management and certain situations that you can all be corrected.
- 40:16Speaker 1: You don't have your head coach, So there's a lot
- 40:18Speaker 1: of things you look at and be like, Okay, no,
- 40:20Speaker 1: this is not being rude. They're not trying to be
- 40:22Speaker 1: like that game's a lot closer than it should have been.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And if we clean up these things, it's how and
- 40:27Speaker 1: how the score should have been, you know what I'm saying.
- 40:30Speaker 1: So we got to buy a week. Great, you got
- 40:32Speaker 1: Wisconsin at home, which is awesome, but then you go
- 40:34Speaker 1: on the road to USC. I'm hoping when you're in
- 40:37Speaker 1: almost the middle of Spootober, you're sitting there and you
- 40:40Speaker 1: watch it then play against us seem like that's the
- 40:42Speaker 1: team because you see against Central Michigan you did a
- 40:45Speaker 1: team that's on the rise, Nebraska like you go and
- 40:47Speaker 1: handle the game, You win the game, but you dominate
- 40:50Speaker 1: in a fashion that's like, Okay, if you take that away,
- 40:52Speaker 1: what do we have? So if I could see a
- 40:54Speaker 1: more well rounded offense, that's what all might be like, Hey,
- 40:57Speaker 1: maybe this year is the year because I think the
- 41:00Speaker 1: difference between you could speak for yourself, but just put
- 41:03Speaker 1: the game of the Michigan and Breskola. Everyone in the
- 41:05Speaker 1: Brass is like year three rule, this is the year.
- 41:08Speaker 1: This is where we completely turn around and go like
- 41:10Speaker 1: to me, It's like I love the foundation that Michigan's
- 41:14Speaker 1: at right now, and I love where they could be,
- 41:17Speaker 1: you know, in the very near future. Like I think
- 41:19Speaker 1: this Portal year is going to be so important about
- 41:22Speaker 1: like know what your know what your issues are, and
- 41:24Speaker 1: just attack it like you have the fund, you have
- 41:27Speaker 1: the money. You're getting fifty thousand dollars from busting Like
- 41:30Speaker 1: that's that's a kicker. Get your kicker, right hey, babe,
- 41:32Speaker 1: that's for you boys right there. Yeah. I saw him
- 41:39Speaker 1: too before the game. I go, best player on the
- 41:41Speaker 1: team is like style by bro, I'm serious, Like you
- 41:44Speaker 1: are elite. It's unbelievable. But he'll be in the NFL
- 41:47Speaker 1: next year. So I just look at him, like, Bro,
- 41:50Speaker 1: you could go and throw some crazy money around and
- 41:55Speaker 1: get some elite wide receivers that might not be used
- 41:57Speaker 1: the correct way. Right now, there's one intact.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Charge it to the game.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Charge it to the game year.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Is it Haynes or Justice justin?
- 42:05Speaker 1: He is a junior. He is a he is a Yeah,
- 42:10Speaker 1: because I saw the Big Ten. He's leading the Big
- 42:11Speaker 1: ten by over one hundred yards in rushing, and I
- 42:13Speaker 1: was like, I wonder what it is nationally. He's four
- 42:15Speaker 1: nationally he is tied for fourth, and then there's like
- 42:18Speaker 1: two smaller schools. One kids get like seven hundred yards
- 42:20Speaker 1: or something like that. But that kid is he's incredible.
- 42:22Speaker 5: He's gone for every gamey touchdown, yeah.
- 42:25Speaker 1: One hundred h he's a junior, and I love that.
- 42:29Speaker 1: All the reports about this kid is like he's intentional
- 42:32Speaker 1: about what he eats. He's intentional, but he's like a
- 42:34Speaker 1: no nonsense guy. Even in the locker room after the game, like, bro,
- 42:37Speaker 1: you balld, he is appreciate you, like he's he's already
- 42:40Speaker 1: thinking about recovery the next thing. Like that kid is
- 42:43Speaker 1: a true pro. And then it's but it's like then
- 42:45Speaker 1: you got Marshall who's a five star who broke like
- 42:47Speaker 1: a seventy yarder in that game, Like he is a sophomore.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I believe he's a saw. Like so it makes you
- 42:55Speaker 1: feel good. And then we just got the number one
- 42:56Speaker 1: running back in this class coming in something Hitter I
- 42:59Speaker 1: forget his first name. Yeah, but like he's like he's
- 43:04Speaker 1: another kid you look at and me in high school.
- 43:06Speaker 1: You're like, fuck, we're doing it again. Like like good
- 43:09Speaker 1: running backs, and like this offensive line too, like Evan
- 43:13Speaker 1: linked the left tackle. He wasn't supposed to be the
- 43:16Speaker 1: left tackle starter. It was Babbelow who was going to be.
- 43:18Speaker 1: He hurt his knee. They were really high on him,
- 43:20Speaker 1: and he's done an amazing job. Like Crippen the center,
- 43:23Speaker 1: Like after the game the locker room and they go
- 43:25Speaker 1: the best game you've ever played, Like you see that
- 43:29Speaker 1: they're gaining confidence. It's so similar to last year, like
- 43:32Speaker 1: a lot of question marks on the offensive line. They
- 43:34Speaker 1: drop one early like they did against Texas last year.
- 43:37Speaker 1: They did the same thing against Oklahoma and you're like, oh,
- 43:39Speaker 1: what is the offense line? Well, they're just getting better
- 43:41Speaker 1: and better and arguably our best offense. The linem's been
- 43:44Speaker 1: hurt for the last couple of games. So I've I'm
- 43:47Speaker 1: to answer your question as long winded as I always am.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I feel very strong about the season.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you like if I was, if I
- 43:54Speaker 3: was like observing and judging Michigan. You guys just need
- 43:57Speaker 3: more consistency in your drives.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 44:01Speaker 3: It's like you guys pop big ones right, Like I
- 44:03Speaker 3: could see like if I'm on Nebraska's defense, like when
- 44:07Speaker 3: I was with Tennessee and Dan P's he'd always come
- 44:09Speaker 3: in and put together the explosive plays back. These five
- 44:13Speaker 3: runs right here came up with two hundred yards, and
- 44:16Speaker 3: they talk in a way of like, you get this
- 44:18Speaker 3: off the board. You play consistently in the run game
- 44:21Speaker 3: like we have. We're in a much better position as
- 44:24Speaker 3: a defense, but we can't give up the explosives. It's
- 44:26Speaker 3: if you guys can put drives together and then get
- 44:29Speaker 3: you know, three or seven out of these drives.
- 44:31Speaker 2: And then you're you're.
- 44:33Speaker 3: You have that with popping the big ones, because I
- 44:36Speaker 3: feel like it's like the offense felt like it gets
- 44:37Speaker 3: stagged at times and a lot of twos just dropping
- 44:40Speaker 3: the ball. Like you guys are you guys are good.
- 44:42Speaker 3: You guys are solid along the line of scrimmage. You
- 44:45Speaker 3: got a hell of a running back. You got a
- 44:46Speaker 3: future superstar of a quarterback, as long as he just
- 44:49Speaker 3: continues to plays, as long as he continues to play
- 44:52Speaker 3: his game, doesn't try to force the issue. If he
- 44:54Speaker 3: feels like he's in a in a moment where he's
- 44:57Speaker 3: got to make a play and I'll kind of throw
- 44:58Speaker 3: it up to the defense. He's really good.
- 45:01Speaker 2: But again, you're you're It's like the talent on the outside,
- 45:04Speaker 2: just catch the ball. I know.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Well, I mean, yeah, you go back to the game, it's.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Like number defens's just discipline.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, there was a lot of broken plays because
- 45:13Speaker 1: of how much pressure was taking place. Like when we
- 45:15Speaker 1: when we were getting to Rayola, he gets out and
- 45:18Speaker 1: at that point, like the perfect one is the first
- 45:20Speaker 1: drive like forty four, like leaks out to the side.
- 45:22Speaker 1: There's no one there because everyone's so far downfield at
- 45:24Speaker 1: this point, so he's been in protection and it's just like, yeah,
- 45:28Speaker 1: you've got to do a couple of things. But I
- 45:31Speaker 1: was very I loved the defense. I thought the defense
- 45:33Speaker 1: played incredible. I thought they did a lot of like
- 45:35Speaker 1: watching Emma Johnson in the three Weeks with you Cincinnati game,
- 45:38Speaker 1: you pop on to Akron or you know, Houston Christian
- 45:42Speaker 1: you pup up in those games. Like you watch Emma Johnson,
- 45:44Speaker 1: not one guy is making the tackle on him. It's
- 45:47Speaker 1: a it's he gets tripped up. Then a guy comes
- 45:49Speaker 1: in and saves the day. And I thought Missigan did
- 45:51Speaker 1: a great job in space getting the guy to the ground.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Whether it's five yeards, six or seven yards, he's getting
- 45:56Speaker 1: the guy of the ground, which I was really proud of.
- 45:58Speaker 1: And then on the drop standpoint, you're right, like somage,
- 46:02Speaker 1: I loved them, and I love his attitude before the game.
- 46:04Speaker 1: I love him as a person. He just had two
- 46:06Speaker 1: drops in this game, at least two drops. Goodwin the
- 46:09Speaker 1: number nine in the back of the end zone early
- 46:11Speaker 1: in the game, Like, that's a well placed ball by Bryce.
- 46:14Speaker 1: That's that should have been a touchdown right there. Donovan
- 46:17Speaker 1: McCully number one, he has that deep pass where they
- 46:21Speaker 1: ended up calling incomplete. They watch the replay and everyone's
- 46:24Speaker 1: on the sideline goal and if he's wearing white cleat,
- 46:25Speaker 1: that's that's that's a catch, And if it's called the catch,
- 46:28Speaker 1: it's probably a catch. That's how close it was. So
- 46:31Speaker 1: you see it as a Michigan fan being like, bro,
- 46:33Speaker 1: we're right there, because you're right. There's a couple three
- 46:36Speaker 1: and ounce, then there's an explosive play. But then the
- 46:38Speaker 1: fourth quarter we go down, take nine minutes off the clock,
- 46:42Speaker 1: twelve plays and have a couple of good throws in there,
- 46:45Speaker 1: sustain good drive, just running the ball consistently. It's like
- 46:48Speaker 1: that's where we need to be, Like go back to
- 46:49Speaker 1: being the boat constrictor where you just like unfortunate you
- 46:53Speaker 1: just forced teams to quit because they can't get the ball.
- 46:56Speaker 1: When they do, there's that defense on the other side
- 46:57Speaker 1: that just goes nuts because that's the game's unfolding. You
- 47:00Speaker 1: look at the time of possession, like Nebraska was like
- 47:03Speaker 1: that twenty five minutes to like fifteen at one point,
- 47:06Speaker 1: like it was.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Yeah, Nebraska dominating in the time possession because you guys
- 47:10Speaker 3: have popped those fucking explosives.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Right like they went down and got three or a
- 47:15Speaker 1: touchdown or Nebraska did, and you go to take a piss.
- 47:18Speaker 1: You come back the Braska at the ball again and
- 47:20Speaker 1: then we scored seven.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. Somebody wanted me to visit somebody on
- 47:23Speaker 2: the fence, buddy.
- 47:24Speaker 3: I go and visit somebody on the fence and they
- 47:26Speaker 3: do the picture thing and then I'll come back out.
- 47:28Speaker 2: They're like, hey, you don't want to see what just happened,
- 47:30Speaker 2: And I'm like, what the fuck I know?
- 47:31Speaker 1: And it's like, you look at I might be a
- 47:33Speaker 1: little pink. Will might be a little pink. It's like
- 47:35Speaker 1: we saut in the Michigan sideline because it was way
- 47:38Speaker 1: less people. Yeah, and the other side shaded and we're
- 47:41Speaker 1: literally just not going over there because I don't believe
- 47:45Speaker 1: besides the two teams, there was anybody in that stadium
- 47:47Speaker 1: that cared more about that game than you and I
- 47:49Speaker 1: I truly, and maybe even more than some of the players.
- 47:54Speaker 1: You know, some of those guys were dressed, but they
- 47:56Speaker 1: knew they weren't playing. Will and I were sitting there
- 47:58Speaker 1: every single play going in. We got Greg Olsen, let's
- 48:02Speaker 1: fucking go.
- 48:05Speaker 2: How we doing that in the car?
- 48:07Speaker 8: Sorry, I had to meet this Monday thing.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Man.
- 48:10Speaker 9: I'm committed, trust me, I'm committed to this segment. I
- 48:13Speaker 9: look forward to it. My Mondays have been totally crazy.
- 48:18Speaker 9: I had to fly to New York for a meeting.
- 48:19Speaker 9: But I'm not missing this with the boys. So we're
- 48:21Speaker 9: gonna have to do it from the car today. Hopefully
- 48:23Speaker 9: you can hear me. Good and let's rip.
- 48:26Speaker 1: I love it, Greg, well, listen, let's we can. We're
- 48:29Speaker 1: gonna move past the fact that your flight didn't work
- 48:31Speaker 1: out last week. He left the boys. It's all good
- 48:33Speaker 1: because we're all about adversity around here. Do we we
- 48:36Speaker 1: handle it with take on the chin and we can
- 48:38Speaker 1: handle forward. We keep moving forward. Talk to me about
- 48:41Speaker 1: Eagles and Rams.
- 48:42Speaker 3: We got a time out time I I can I
- 48:44Speaker 3: just open up my first question. I want to know
- 48:45Speaker 3: how his team did when they came back from their little,
- 48:48Speaker 3: their little break.
- 48:50Speaker 1: This is the first game back they had the bi
- 48:51Speaker 1: week last week, I know, but I want to know how, How,
- 48:53Speaker 1: How is tempo?
- 48:54Speaker 2: How was practiced? Did they hit the feel like he
- 48:56Speaker 2: wanted to see him? That was it?
- 48:58Speaker 3: Was it a down week? Did you have to correct
- 49:00Speaker 3: them after the practice? Like way, we ain't coming out
- 49:02Speaker 3: here just to fiddle our thumbs. We need a sense
- 49:04Speaker 3: of urgency.
- 49:07Speaker 9: Yeah, I think, I think, I think you're spot on.
- 49:09Speaker 9: I think maybe the first practice returning last Monday, maybe
- 49:13Speaker 9: a little we had to get on them a little bit,
- 49:15Speaker 9: just to get the blood flown a little bit, get
- 49:17Speaker 9: the juices going, get back into groove. I thought Tuesday
- 49:20Speaker 9: we had a really good day. Wednesday, review day before
- 49:22Speaker 9: the game, we had a really good day on Wednesday night,
- 49:25Speaker 9: did a nice video we do it via zoom, did
- 49:29Speaker 9: a nice late night team video.
- 49:32Speaker 8: Session corrections from the week in practice.
- 49:35Speaker 9: We record all of our practices, so we did a
- 49:37Speaker 9: little did a little team correction, did some game review
- 49:41Speaker 9: stuff from former weeks to just clean clean everything up.
- 49:44Speaker 8: And then I wouldn't say we played great.
- 49:47Speaker 9: We played well. We won twenty to nothing. Defense played
- 49:51Speaker 9: really well. Team we played had some good player U
- 50:00Speaker 9: I would say we played I would say we played well.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Okay, good not great is what you'll put on. You'll
- 50:06Speaker 1: put on.
- 50:06Speaker 9: I want us to be more dominant, like I want
- 50:09Speaker 9: us to be more assertive. It took us it was
- 50:11Speaker 9: only six to nothing at half a couple turnovers. That's
- 50:15Speaker 9: been a problem for us this year. We got to
- 50:17Speaker 9: get cleaned up. But defensively we played really well, which
- 50:20Speaker 9: was exciting.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I love that.
- 50:23Speaker 6: Say that again, Mitch, Greg you played uh my buddy
- 50:27Speaker 6: from college. You played his team this past week.
- 50:31Speaker 8: Oh, really nice, Mitch.
- 50:33Speaker 6: I don't know what what high school or middle school
- 50:35Speaker 6: he works out.
- 50:38Speaker 9: So the program that we played their high school team.
- 50:41Speaker 9: So it's called Providence Day School. They're right up the
- 50:43Speaker 9: road from us. To their credit, like I give credit
- 50:45Speaker 9: where credits due, they've got a really good football program,
- 50:50Speaker 9: like they're They're high school is loaded. They produce a
- 50:52Speaker 9: lot of really good college kids. They're if they're not
- 50:57Speaker 9: the best team in the whole state, they're one of
- 50:59Speaker 9: the top and full they do a good job. So
- 51:03Speaker 9: I you know, give credit where credits due, So it
- 51:05Speaker 9: was a good win for us. They're a good football school.
- 51:07Speaker 9: They take football serious as do we, and uh, it
- 51:12Speaker 9: was it was a game that we wanted to win.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Is it too early in the process looking at these
- 51:16Speaker 1: middical kids, because like you know, Tostostreos now finally get
- 51:19Speaker 1: into the body. You're seeing these kids develop. Are you
- 51:21Speaker 1: looking at any of these kids on your roster, going
- 51:23Speaker 1: this kid's d one, this kid's going the distance? Possibly?
- 51:30Speaker 9: You know, there's kids that have those qualities, Like there's
- 51:33Speaker 9: kids that have those you know, characteristics. What's so hard
- 51:36Speaker 9: about the middle school is you know these kids are thirteen,
- 51:39Speaker 9: fourteen years old, that some of the really big ones,
- 51:43Speaker 9: and we don't have a ton of these on our team.
- 51:44Speaker 9: But like as you look around the league, the really
- 51:47Speaker 9: big both like early bloomers, you ask yourself, like, all right,
- 51:51Speaker 9: how much more are they going to grow? And then
- 51:53Speaker 9: some of the other kids that are more on the
- 51:54Speaker 9: early side, you say, hey, they've got a lot of
- 51:56Speaker 9: good qualities, they're good players.
- 51:59Speaker 8: How big are it get? So I think footballs so.
- 52:03Speaker 9: Hard because even if you have the skill sets, even
- 52:06Speaker 9: if you show those qualities of being a good receiver,
- 52:08Speaker 9: a good defensive back. As you guys know, so much
- 52:11Speaker 9: of the game and opportunity at the higher level is
- 52:14Speaker 9: just how big are you, how tall are you, how
- 52:16Speaker 9: much do you weigh?
- 52:16Speaker 8: How fast you run?
- 52:17Speaker 9: And I think at thirteen fourteen years old, it's it's
- 52:21Speaker 9: hard to predict for most of these kids what they're
- 52:23Speaker 9: going to look like at seventeen.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Yeah, we ran into that problem when I was playing
- 52:27Speaker 1: for the Scottsdale Shockers. We had a kid named James Reina.
- 52:30Speaker 1: I have no idea what he's doing to this day,
- 52:32Speaker 1: but he was about five six, five to seven and
- 52:34Speaker 1: he was like eight years old. He was like a
- 52:35Speaker 1: tall eight year old. He could run the hell out
- 52:38Speaker 1: of the rock. Fast forward to him being a senior
- 52:40Speaker 1: in high school. He's the same height. So that you
- 52:43Speaker 1: always got to be cautious about giving out a green Flaight, Hey,
- 52:46Speaker 1: this kid's going to be the one. He's gonna be
- 52:48Speaker 1: the absolute one.
- 52:49Speaker 3: What is the uh, what's the scattering report we got
- 52:52Speaker 3: on this upcoming game this week for you guys?
- 52:56Speaker 2: What are the team keys to success?
- 53:00Speaker 8: So number biggest focus today.
- 53:02Speaker 9: So I'm literally on my way back to my airport,
- 53:04Speaker 9: back to the airport to fly home to get back
- 53:06Speaker 9: for practice. There's no days off boys, you know the deal.
- 53:10Speaker 9: So we got our first Monday. This will be our
- 53:11Speaker 9: first practice back after last week's game. We get the
- 53:14Speaker 9: kids the weekends off. We've gotten a little soft in
- 53:17Speaker 9: today's middle school. We should practice seven days a week.
- 53:20Speaker 9: But anyway, our biggest thing is we've got to clean
- 53:24Speaker 9: up like our stuff. We've turned the ball over six
- 53:27Speaker 9: times at three games too many. We've got to protect
- 53:32Speaker 9: the ball. We got to get back to our basics.
- 53:35Speaker 9: The one thing our kids do. And I've told you
- 53:37Speaker 9: guys how much we value this, and our kids have
- 53:39Speaker 9: answered the bell.
- 53:41Speaker 8: We play extremely hard.
- 53:42Speaker 9: Our kids play fast, they run to the ball, we tackle,
- 53:46Speaker 9: we block, we finish. Like all the things that we stress,
- 53:50Speaker 9: we've done it. We've our kids have really answered and
- 53:52Speaker 9: done a good job. We need to play cleaner ball.
- 53:55Speaker 9: We got to protect the ball assignments. It's early in
- 53:57Speaker 9: the year, they're young. All of our going forward these
- 54:00Speaker 9: next couple of weeks is going to be like, we
- 54:02Speaker 9: got to clean up our ball. It doesn't matter who
- 54:05Speaker 9: we play, it doesn't matter what they do. If we
- 54:08Speaker 9: clean up the little stuff that we can control, will
- 54:11Speaker 9: be hard to beat.
- 54:12Speaker 1: It's gotta feel good sitting undefeated and knowing all the
- 54:15Speaker 1: issues you have and they're all internally fixable things. It's
- 54:18Speaker 1: not a talent issue. Talk about six turnovers in three games.
- 54:22Speaker 1: What is the total turnover margin you guys got going
- 54:24Speaker 1: on your team?
- 54:26Speaker 9: Yeah, so I'd say we're probably even. We for six
- 54:29Speaker 9: mix of fumbles and picks. So I think for the
- 54:33Speaker 9: season we're even. Last time I ran the numbers, I
- 54:36Speaker 9: think we're six and six. So I feel pretty good
- 54:39Speaker 9: defensively about taking the ball all away. Offensively, got to
- 54:45Speaker 9: have a little bit more, a little bit more focused
- 54:47Speaker 9: in that area.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Now when you're you know, when you're coaching these middle schoolers,
- 54:51Speaker 3: coach Greg Olsen, is this a situation to where you
- 54:56Speaker 3: challenge the offensive players to carry a football around school
- 55:00Speaker 3: during school hours? This seems like a prime I want
- 55:03Speaker 3: to see you carrying the football anytime I see you. Yeah,
- 55:06Speaker 3: locker room, bathroom doesn't matter, and guys are gonna come
- 55:08Speaker 3: trying to knock it out.
- 55:12Speaker 9: Yeah, it's like remember in the remember in the in
- 55:14Speaker 9: the program, Yeah, you guys remember the movie the program when.
- 55:17Speaker 8: You can't get the ball around.
- 55:18Speaker 9: They knocked it out in class and they started like
- 55:19Speaker 9: a riot down the stairs or covering the fumble. Yeah,
- 55:23Speaker 9: I feel like we might need to. I don't think
- 55:24Speaker 9: our kids are ready for the program. You think we
- 55:26Speaker 9: can watch the program with middle school kids.
- 55:28Speaker 2: I think so.
- 55:29Speaker 3: I think there's a situation where you get your running
- 55:31Speaker 3: backs and quarterback carrying the ball around and they might
- 55:33Speaker 3: see Luke Keickley down the hall and you better protect
- 55:36Speaker 3: yourself because goa Kickley, He's going to get the ball out.
- 55:39Speaker 1: That's that's the biggest thing, is making sure that you
- 55:41Speaker 1: and coach Keikley are at the school. I don't know
- 55:44Speaker 1: how often you're inside those hallways, but if you could
- 55:47Speaker 1: somehow dressed down to look like a middle school kid
- 55:50Speaker 1: and just kind of walk up and plus that thing out,
- 55:52Speaker 1: you get that on video, put it in a team
- 55:54Speaker 1: meeting by boys. Do you think this is how we're
- 55:56Speaker 1: going to be successful? No, on the line, everybody outside
- 55:59Speaker 1: right now.
- 56:01Speaker 8: I'll be honest. I like it.
- 56:05Speaker 9: I like it.
- 56:06Speaker 8: I think you're onto something.
- 56:07Speaker 9: You know, every once in a while, you gotta we
- 56:10Speaker 9: used to say you gotta sliit the throat. You know,
- 56:12Speaker 9: every once in a while, you gotta sliit the throat.
- 56:14Speaker 9: You got to reset the standard. And uh, I think
- 56:17Speaker 9: caring the ball around and then and then hiring people
- 56:20Speaker 9: throughout the course of the day, Like, can we get
- 56:22Speaker 9: different teachers in on it. Can we get the administration
- 56:25Speaker 9: at the school, the principal. Can we get them kind
- 56:28Speaker 9: of come punch peanut, punch rip the backside point, make
- 56:32Speaker 9: sure the front tip's the higher than the back Like,
- 56:35Speaker 9: can we make sure we test them throughout the entire day,
- 56:38Speaker 9: going between math and science, and make sure there's a
- 56:41Speaker 9: good cup the wrists when there's traffic, we get two
- 56:44Speaker 9: hands on the ball. Yeah, maybe no better way to
- 56:47Speaker 9: do it than in the hallways. I think you're onto something.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta get it's got to be a whole
- 56:51Speaker 1: team thing, especially when you're talk about how small your
- 56:52Speaker 1: school is. We don't have a lot of kids there.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Now everybody just gets into that. Okay, teachers, administration, if
- 56:58Speaker 1: you're gonna be like that, then we got to make
- 57:01Speaker 1: sure we're all kind of carrying the flag is making
- 57:03Speaker 1: sure our football team is as good as possible, because
- 57:05Speaker 1: the standard is the standard. You guys have set one.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Are we ready to move to the less important NFL?
- 57:11Speaker 3: We can move through the NFL. I do need a
- 57:13Speaker 3: pregame speech from coach coach Olsen being like, hey, gentlemen,
- 57:17Speaker 3: every once in a while, you gotta slit somebody's throat.
- 57:20Speaker 3: This game is the game, you know what I mean?
- 57:22Speaker 3: I need I need that line in there with a
- 57:24Speaker 3: bunch of mini schools.
- 57:25Speaker 1: And maybe kick their parents out of the locker room. Yeah,
- 57:28Speaker 1: get out of their parents, take the juice boxes and
- 57:30Speaker 1: the oranges. They'll get it when they earn it. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 57:34Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm not sure if I
- 57:35Speaker 9: can use that line. It's a Christian school. We'll tone
- 57:40Speaker 9: down the pregame speech that that's me and you, that's
- 57:43Speaker 9: you and I.
- 57:44Speaker 2: Okay, no one watches.
- 57:45Speaker 1: This show anyway. No one's gonna see that. So it's
- 57:47Speaker 1: all good.
- 57:47Speaker 8: It'll work out in the locker room.
- 57:49Speaker 9: We got to be a little bit more of age
- 57:51Speaker 9: appropriate with our messaging. Sometimes I lose my mind a
- 57:56Speaker 9: little bit. I'll be the first to admit, but I
- 58:00Speaker 9: at least them trying.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Yes, that's all that matters.
- 58:02Speaker 2: So you can ask for Well, let's get to the NFL.
- 58:05Speaker 1: So the game you called was the Eagles and the Rams.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Eagles end up winning that game thirty three to twenty oh.
- 58:11Speaker 1: The score doesn't tell the story, right, Rams have twenty
- 58:15Speaker 1: six at a half, they have twenty sixty the end
- 58:16Speaker 1: of the game, and they hold what they hold the
- 58:19Speaker 1: Eagles to what forty yards of offense in the first half, Like,
- 58:22Speaker 1: tell me, give me your bird's eye view of how
- 58:26Speaker 1: this whole game went down, and finally the Eagles just
- 58:28Speaker 1: go fuck it, let's take over.
- 58:31Speaker 8: Yes, So I think it came down to two things.
- 58:32Speaker 8: I think it came down to.
- 58:34Speaker 9: In the first half, they asked Jalen Hurts in the
- 58:36Speaker 9: offense to do virtually nothing in the passing game, and
- 58:40Speaker 9: exactly why, I'm not exactly sure. I think the Rams
- 58:44Speaker 9: had a chance to put the game away. They had
- 58:47Speaker 9: multiple red zone trips, multiple field position advantage that they
- 58:51Speaker 9: settled for field goals at the final part of the
- 58:54Speaker 9: get you know, there.
- 58:54Speaker 8: Were four for six with field goals.
- 58:56Speaker 9: Obviously the last two being blocked by phillyon obviously won
- 59:00Speaker 9: the game.
- 59:01Speaker 8: So settling for field goals I thought was a huge issue.
- 59:04Speaker 9: I thought a couple times they could have been more aggressive,
- 59:06Speaker 9: couldn't put the game away, and then Philly in the
- 59:09Speaker 9: second half put the game and put the ball in
- 59:12Speaker 9: the hands of Jalen Hurts.
- 59:13Speaker 8: He played really well.
- 59:14Speaker 9: They settled down some protection issues after they lost Lane Johnson.
- 59:18Speaker 9: They put in Fred Johnson, who was the second he
- 59:21Speaker 9: was the second backup right tackle, se the factor. He's
- 59:24Speaker 9: the fourth right tackle on the team. Did a really
- 59:26Speaker 9: good job in the second half settling them down in protection,
- 59:29Speaker 9: and they started throwing the ball to A. J. Brown
- 59:32Speaker 9: and Debante Smith and Dallas Goddard and and then obviously
- 59:36Speaker 9: the two big men inside block two field goals on
- 59:38Speaker 9: back to back possessions of the Rams, and they were able.
- 59:41Speaker 9: Like they they've done now nineteen out of twenty times
- 59:43Speaker 9: in a row, they've found a way to win, even
- 59:45Speaker 9: if they haven't played their best ball.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Yeah, do you think that the there should be any
- 59:49Speaker 1: concern on the Rams side, because I think from the
- 59:52Speaker 1: NFC standpoint, like people looked at the Rams as like
- 59:54Speaker 1: maybe a Tier two And now as we get a
- 59:57Speaker 1: little farther in the season, obviously the score didn't go
- 59:59Speaker 1: the way they wanted, but you're watching the first half
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: of that game, you're like, oh, are the Rams like
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: number two to the Packers. Obviously the Packers drops will
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: talk about that, But if you're the Rams if you're
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Sean McVay, what is your message to the team at
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: this point.
- 1:00:13Speaker 8: I think the Rams are pretty good.
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: Yeah, I know yesterday's that I think it's a tough loss,
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: and I know they're flying back, you know, to the
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: West Coast, just gutted that they let that game slip away.
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: But I think you'd take a step back and you say,
- 1:00:26Speaker 9: for most of the game.
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: We we did exactly what we wanted to do.
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: We didn't finish in the red zone, and they got
- 1:00:34Speaker 9: stopped on a fourth down try in the third fourth quarter,
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: they got stopped on a fourth and one. They ran
- 1:00:40Speaker 9: it right up the middle and didn't get it. So
- 1:00:43Speaker 9: I think if you're the Rams are saying I've got
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: a great defense, I'm really good up front.
- 1:00:46Speaker 8: For most of the game we played well and offensively.
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: If even one of those red zone possessions, we don't
- 1:00:53Speaker 9: settle for a field goal and we end up converting
- 1:00:55Speaker 9: there inside the you know, goal to go situation with
- 1:00:58Speaker 9: a touchdown, we.
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: Win the game.
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: So I think early in the season, a coach like
- 1:01:02Speaker 9: McVeigh is pulling out all the positives. He's pulling out
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: all the good and I think when you watch them
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: and you know, we saw it unfold in live you know,
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: a live timing, Like they're pretty good.
- 1:01:13Speaker 8: They did a lot of really good things.
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: They just have to find if you're gonna beat a
- 1:01:17Speaker 9: team like Philly, you have to put them away early
- 1:01:19Speaker 9: because if you let him hang around, they've proven to
- 1:01:23Speaker 9: be really hard to beat.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Right, especially being able to out physical you in the
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: second half. It's kind of it's like if Philly and
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: last year is it was Philly in the lines you
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: get in the second half of that team, that offensive line,
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: the physicality of the game, they'll start to lean on
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: you and take over.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: What uh what was your make?
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: There's a clip going viral I feel like right now
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: of Jalen Hurts's reaction after Philly blocks a field goal
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: and they take it back to the house, Like again,
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: that kick right there, Rams make it number one is
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: so sad for all the betters out there, as far
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: as Ram Rams, what was a plus two.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: And a half three?
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: It was actually three and a half so we were
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: right there.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: So no matter if you make the field go or out,
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: you're like, oh, Rams covered, yeah, and they just got
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: one blocked the possession before It's like, surely this isn't
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: going to happen again. They block it and take it
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: back to the Alis. They lose the cover. But Jalen
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: has this, uh, this reaction, whether it's a stoic action,
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: the way he's you know, he's not like celebratory. What
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: do you make as somebody who played the game and
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: you watch that reaction go down of a clip that's
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: just going viral and everybody's having a take on it.
- 1:02:29Speaker 8: Yeah, I think that's what we've come to see from
- 1:02:31Speaker 8: Jalen Hurts.
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: He's not a he's not going to ride the emotions
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: good or bad of the game.
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: I think it's kind of part of his play style.
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: I think that's what it's allowed him to whether what
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: he has in his college career and the ups and
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: downs he went through there in the adversity, and now obviously.
- 1:02:45Speaker 8: With what he's accomplished in the league.
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: I think that even Keel, he's never the biggest personality,
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: and he's never at the first half, he could have
- 1:02:54Speaker 9: just packed it up and went home because they were
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: struggling so bad. I think that's really one of his superpower.
- 1:03:00Speaker 9: So I don't ever expect him to show a lot
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: of emotion. I don't think it's who he is. I
- 1:03:04Speaker 9: don't think it's his style, and I respect him for it.
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: I think that is such a good quality out of
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: the leader, out of the quarterback. Things are going to
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: go bad in the league, things are going to go good,
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: but just knowing that your quarterback is just always going
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: to be the same guy and you're never gonna be
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: able to tell the score based on his body language.
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: I think we all wish we had a little bit
- 1:03:24Speaker 8: more of us.
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: I know that's not a strength of mine, but I'm
- 1:03:29Speaker 9: impressed by Jalen and and really just his whole demeanor
- 1:03:32Speaker 9: and the way he's handled himself.
- 1:03:34Speaker 8: I give him a lot of credit.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you're when you're covering, when you're covering the game, Like,
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: do you feel like the Rams were able to expose
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: something offensively with the Eagles? Like when you watch the
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: Eagles and you talk and people talk about how do
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: you beat the Eagles? How do you make it is
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: jailing through the area? Is it making them one dimensional?
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Obviously you want to stop the roam with Saquon Barkley,
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: But from your vantage point, what do you see when
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: you watch the Eagles? If you're an opponent watching their Tay.
- 1:04:02Speaker 9: When the Eagles are at their best, which I think
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: was the second half of yesterday, it was a combination
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: of you're always gonna want to get the ball to
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: Saquon right. The run game is always going to be
- 1:04:11Speaker 9: a key element anytime you're talking about a team, you
- 1:04:14Speaker 9: know or running back that.
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: Good, and obviously with the offensive line and that Philly has.
- 1:04:18Speaker 9: But I think when they go too heavy with Saquon
- 1:04:20Speaker 9: and it becomes so overly run game, I think is
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: when they get out of whack. So I think in
- 1:04:25Speaker 9: the second half it became a mix of Saquon, a
- 1:04:28Speaker 9: lot more pass, a lot more play action, drop back stuff,
- 1:04:31Speaker 9: get the ball to aj Brown one on one on
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: the outside, and test these corners, hit you know, Devonte
- 1:04:36Speaker 9: Smith in the slot on a lot of these corner
- 1:04:38Speaker 9: option routes, third down conversions, fourth down conversions.
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: Like they did.
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: And then I think activating Jalen Hurts as a designed runner.
- 1:04:47Speaker 9: We've seen him, you know, the first two games especially,
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: he didn't have a designed run call for him. It
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: was all scramble and improv off of the pass, and
- 1:04:56Speaker 9: he's super effective, super hard to get on the ground.
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: Yesterday we saw them start activate more quarterback designed runs.
- 1:05:02Speaker 9: So you factor all of those aspects of the offense
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: into the same game, and now you're a real challenge
- 1:05:08Speaker 9: to beat both schematically. And then you look at all
- 1:05:11Speaker 9: the positions and you've got a lot of really good players.
- 1:05:13Speaker 9: So that's why I said, if I'm the Rams and
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: the challenge that is this Philadelphia Eagles offense, I think defensively,
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: I feel pretty good. You just wish you can get
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: one of those red zone possessions back. But they are
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: a talented team with good coaching. They play situational ball
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: as good, if not better than everyone else, and it's
- 1:05:32Speaker 9: why they're just hard to beat.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I thought the Rams they are built in
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: a way to match up against the Eagles really well
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: because they have two elite wide receivers on the edge
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: and they You brought this up during the game is
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: drive to drive. In the first half, you see the
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: offensive play calling change from a run standpoint, like a
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: lot of times. The first drive, we're talking about a
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: lot of outside zone. We're attacking the perimeter quite a bit.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: The next drive the Eagles have made their adjustments. Now
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: we're hitting you with gaps game inside zone stuff and
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: allowing the run game and the scheme to kind of
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: play for them. So I think they do. They match
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: up well, and I hope, I hope we get to
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: see them in the playoffs. Transitioning a little bit, well,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: a little bit to a different game. Bucks beat the
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Jets twenty nine to twenty seven. Obviously, if you're the Buccaneers,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: you're three and zero, you feel good about it, but
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: you just beat He was a close game with a
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Jets team that has a quarterbacker. What do we have
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: to say about Baker Mayfield at this point? He's got
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: three game winning drives in three games. He's won the
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: division what three times? Now four times?
- 1:06:30Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Are we ready to put Baker Mayfield in the prestigious
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: generational talent category?
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: MVP conversation?
- 1:06:36Speaker 8: Oh my god, tell you what, I don't.
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: Know if you could feel better for a guy who's
- 1:06:43Speaker 9: over you're talking about adversity and dealing with stuff.
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: I mean, what a job he has done.
- 1:06:48Speaker 9: I mean, he was left for dead in the league,
- 1:06:51Speaker 9: gets his opportunity to go to Tampa post Tom Brady,
- 1:06:54Speaker 9: fill those shoes expectations. Todd Owles takes over as the
- 1:06:59Speaker 9: head coach, and all he has done is win all
- 1:07:02Speaker 9: he has done is find ways to lead that team.
- 1:07:05Speaker 9: I think his energy, I think his play style is infectious.
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: You just can't help but root for guys like Baker,
- 1:07:13Speaker 9: and I think it's really a testament to how important
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: fit and belief of the organization is for the quarterback position.
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: I mean, we're seeing it with Daniel Jones right now.
- 1:07:22Speaker 9: I mean everyone wanted to throw him out of New
- 1:07:24Speaker 9: York the last couple of years, and now all he's
- 1:07:26Speaker 9: done is go get a fresh you know, fresh life,
- 1:07:29Speaker 9: new birth in Indianapolis, and he looks like a different player.
- 1:07:32Speaker 8: So fit is so important.
- 1:07:34Speaker 9: A team believing in you, empowering you to be their leader.
- 1:07:38Speaker 9: And that's what Todd Bowles, That's what Tampa has done
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: with Baker, and I think he deserves all the credit
- 1:07:44Speaker 9: that he's getting for the job he's done there, and
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: I'm happy for him.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: What else? Uh Pa? I was kind of just in
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: awe thinking.
- 1:07:53Speaker 9: To my se, Hey, can I can I just say
- 1:07:55Speaker 9: what's obvious? And I'm sure you guys have talked about it.
- 1:07:57Speaker 9: Go ahead, will will you have a great bald head?
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: Oh? Thank you, Greg, thank you a lot.
- 1:08:06Speaker 8: Like I couldn't be like I'm balding.
- 1:08:08Speaker 9: But I couldn't be like a bald bald because I
- 1:08:10Speaker 9: have a gigantic head.
- 1:08:12Speaker 8: You have like a good shaped head to be bald.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he really does. And and they got will Polk.
- 1:08:19Speaker 8: I'm being serious. I think you look really good.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: No, I believe you. I appreciate those words.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: He yeah, he looks tougher like I think he dropped
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: three percent body fast.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you got grittier.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: What is the game plan if you ever do go bald?
- 1:08:35Speaker 9: Greg?
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Are you gonna have fun with it for a little bit?
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Do the could to sac Are you just gonna bick
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: it and move on? You're gonna go to Turkey?
- 1:08:41Speaker 10: Like?
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: What's the move there?
- 1:08:42Speaker 9: Yeah, that's a great Listen. I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 1:08:45Speaker 9: This is a question that I've had. This is a
- 1:08:47Speaker 9: this is a thought that I've worked through internally.
- 1:08:50Speaker 8: You're you're this.
- 1:08:52Speaker 9: You're putting me on the spot. But it's not the
- 1:08:54Speaker 9: first time that I've had these thoughts. That's a great
- 1:08:59Speaker 9: I don't know. My My concern is it's not like
- 1:09:01Speaker 9: a vanity thing, Like I'm not a huge like worried
- 1:09:05Speaker 9: about what I look like.
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: I very rarely even comb my hair.
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: I just don't know if i'd be a good bald
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: guy because my head is so big, so like that
- 1:09:15Speaker 9: would be a pretty jarring transition for me.
- 1:09:18Speaker 8: Can we can we plug it up? Can we get
- 1:09:21Speaker 8: some in plant? I don't know. I think all options
- 1:09:23Speaker 8: right now are on the table.
- 1:09:25Speaker 9: I just turned forty, and I don't know if I
- 1:09:28Speaker 9: have a clear favorite right now.
- 1:09:30Speaker 8: Leader in the clubhouse.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: Yeah, turning forty, though, I feel like at this point
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, it'll probably send more and more as
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: you go, but by the time you're sixty, it's like,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: do we really care?
- 1:09:40Speaker 8: Yeah, Oh it doesn't matter.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: No, it doesn't matter. Know.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: When you're forty and you got that head of hair,
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: whether or not it's fading or thinning, whatever it is,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I feel like you're gonna be pretty solid for the
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: next deck.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: And I'm hanging on.
- 1:09:51Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm hanging on for dear life. I'm really good
- 1:09:54Speaker 9: like sides and back. You know, helmets, hats, front gets
- 1:09:59Speaker 9: a little a brace, you know, a little abrasion there
- 1:10:01Speaker 9: in the front of follicles probably aren't as thick as
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: they once were, but it's a lot. It's a lot
- 1:10:08Speaker 9: of helmets, a lot of days with the boys, uh
- 1:10:12Speaker 9: grinding and camp probably lost a few few follicles over
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: the years.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: You know, you know that?
- 1:10:18Speaker 8: Go although Taylor, you got great hair too, Thank you.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I had to give that. Dave la one My
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: My daddy's sixty years old and he his hair is
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: just as thick as minus to this day. He's just
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: a silver fox.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: What a gift.
- 1:10:32Speaker 8: We're at any gift.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: We're at ESPN this weekend and it's the conversation. My
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: father came up and my hair and I showed the
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: makeup lady my father. She said, I would date your
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: father right now. How old are you? She goes on
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: forty five? I go, Dave would probably call, He would call.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: He's he's full of trt, greg like he's that that
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: boy is after it right now. He's getting after good
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: for day. Shout out Dave la one shot Dave.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: What is your biggest takeaway? What do you think the
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: biggest headline is coming out of the Browns beating the Packers?
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Is it more so packers drink the kool aid? This
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: is kind of a trap game situation in college football
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: and they got trapped. Do you think it speaks more
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: about what the Browns have going on defensively in Cleveland.
- 1:11:16Speaker 9: Yeah, so, I'll be honest, I didn't catch the game, obviously,
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: I saw the box scorer and I saw the score.
- 1:11:20Speaker 9: I was shocked, I'll be honest. I thought the Packers
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: were rolling. They've looked really good through the first two weeks.
- 1:11:29Speaker 9: I was that game. That game in the Carolina Atlanta
- 1:11:32Speaker 9: game probably were my two biggest surprises, just outcome wise,
- 1:11:35Speaker 9: and then obviously the Carolina game. Just you don't see
- 1:11:37Speaker 9: a lot of NFL games thirty to nothing, regardless of
- 1:11:40Speaker 9: who the teams are. But yeah, I thought, I do
- 1:11:43Speaker 9: agree with you what Cleveland can do defensively, and the
- 1:11:47Speaker 9: dudes that they have up front and that system, they're
- 1:11:50Speaker 9: gonna give a lot of teams trouble. I just think
- 1:11:54Speaker 9: it's a nature of the NFL, like I think the
- 1:11:57Speaker 9: difference between the top tier and the bottom tier. It's
- 1:12:00Speaker 9: very different than college football. It's very different to you know,
- 1:12:04Speaker 9: where you just assume like, oh, these games are just
- 1:12:06Speaker 9: easy to call. It seems like every week there's that
- 1:12:08Speaker 9: one or two games that no matter how much you
- 1:12:10Speaker 9: think you follow ball, no matter how much you think
- 1:12:12Speaker 9: you understand about these teams, something always goes sideways, and
- 1:12:16Speaker 9: I think that's the beauty of the NFL. It's why
- 1:12:18Speaker 9: we all tune in, it's why we all talk about
- 1:12:20Speaker 9: it all day every day. And that's a huge win
- 1:12:23Speaker 9: for Cleveland just culturally, the belief within the locker room, like, hey,
- 1:12:28Speaker 9: we can go toe to toe with anybody in this league.
- 1:12:30Speaker 9: Now the key is can we do this over and
- 1:12:33Speaker 9: over and over again, which, of course is what every
- 1:12:35Speaker 9: team is chasing.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: It's very interesting too, like I feel like there's always
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: one week in the year, possibly two weeks, where it's
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: like everything kind of just gets fucked up in the NFL,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Like all the good teams, like the Packers, they just
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: randomly drop one. You look at a Panthers Falcons, you
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: already brought that up. It's like you don't really know
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: who's gonna win the game. Everyone kind of the public
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: sits there and go, well, Falcons, pennex Pits, Bejeon, like
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: those guys are probably gonna see role of Panthers.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: Vikings beating out the Bengals.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like you look at these games, You're like,
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: these are supposed to be more competitive, and then even
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: the Commanders and Raiders, like I think the consensus was like, yeah,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: the Commands will probably win this game, but not by
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: that margin. And I feel like every so often in
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: the football season you always run into these wonky weeks,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: and I think they kind of we kind of have
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: one of us. If I'm personally just in my opinion,
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: if I'm the Packers, like, I'm not sweating this. Michael
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Parsons had a great, great take on this, is like,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: we're a great team and we sometimes you shit the bed,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: and that's exactly what we did. We just shit the bed.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: So they know what they they know what they have. Yeah,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: because that that game. Honestly, if I'm the Browns and
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, we have a defense, it's essentially gonna
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: keep us in every single game. Why not go to
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Gabriel or Shore or kind of move on, just kind
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: of see what you have a little bit because Flacco,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: I love Joe cool, He's he's the man, and if
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: they want to ride with him all season, I'm all
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: about that train. But like, why not get a little spicy.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: You know you're offensively, you're not doing a whole lot.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: You're averaging like fifteen point two your points per game, Like,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: why not kind of throw it in there a little.
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: But if they had an offense, they would be they'd
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: be a top tier team.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh, Judkins, Judkins, he got he gets his
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: first touchdown of his career. Like they kind of they
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: got a little like, oh, this is what you need
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: to see. Maybe we do throw a young cat in there,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: let him spin it and have him fail fail forward.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, so yeah, do you think they should think?
- 1:14:22Speaker 9: I think coaches always struggle with the with that baton
- 1:14:26Speaker 9: handoff right, and then and then you know, conventional wisdom,
- 1:14:29Speaker 9: you said, are we're really good defensively, that's what every
- 1:14:31Speaker 9: good young quarterback needs. And then I think sometimes these
- 1:14:34Speaker 9: coaches go, well, let's just manage the offense and not
- 1:14:37Speaker 9: make the defense's job any harder. And let's try to
- 1:14:40Speaker 9: squeak out some of these you know, one score games.
- 1:14:42Speaker 9: Let's squeak out some of these games that are in
- 1:14:44Speaker 9: the teams. Right, we're both you know, holding our opponents
- 1:14:46Speaker 9: under twenty every single week. Let's not throw picks, let's
- 1:14:49Speaker 9: not make mistakes. So I think that's the other side
- 1:14:52Speaker 9: of it. But it's hard, right, It's a hard decision.
- 1:14:56Speaker 9: When do you go to a young quarterback? Is that
- 1:14:58Speaker 9: young quarterback ready, is that quarter walking into a environment
- 1:15:02Speaker 9: that's good for not only the immediate success of the team, Right,
- 1:15:05Speaker 9: like the Browns wanting to win now, They're not trying
- 1:15:08Speaker 9: to win in three years. And you know, Shador or
- 1:15:10Speaker 9: Gabriel whoever is the quarterback two three years from now.
- 1:15:13Speaker 9: They got to win now. They got to strike while
- 1:15:14Speaker 9: Miles Garrett is still one of the best players in
- 1:15:16Speaker 9: the league.
- 1:15:17Speaker 8: And this defense is still as loaded as it is.
- 1:15:19Speaker 9: So they've got to They've got to fit the balance
- 1:15:22Speaker 9: between being good today and also being able to not
- 1:15:25Speaker 9: stunt any growth and development of the future. And I
- 1:15:28Speaker 9: think that's what all these coaches that go through these
- 1:15:30Speaker 9: quarterback transitions, that's what keeps them up at night.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: Yeah, looking at the did you happen to catch the
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: Bears Cowboys game?
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Are you buying.
- 1:15:40Speaker 8: Most I caught half of it in flying Home?
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: Are you buying the the Bears offense and making a
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: huge jump in the week two? I don't know how
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: much you've gotten to break down the Dallas defense. I
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: think they're absolutely atrocious. But what do you is your
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: takeaway coming out of the Bears beating the Cowboys?
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:15:59Speaker 9: So I think first off, you never apologize and you
- 1:16:01Speaker 9: got obviously, I'm not telling you guys something you don't know.
- 1:16:03Speaker 9: You never apologize in the league for having a great game.
- 1:16:05Speaker 9: You never apologize for seeing growth. It doesn't matter who
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: you play against. Growth and development and improvement in the
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: NFL is always going to be celebrated by everyone.
- 1:16:14Speaker 8: So a win's a win. A great offensive performance is
- 1:16:17Speaker 8: a great offensive performance.
- 1:16:19Speaker 9: Having said that, my hedges, I did see this Dallas
- 1:16:22Speaker 9: defense the week before win, but give up forty to
- 1:16:26Speaker 9: the Giants, and we've seen the Giants in pretty much
- 1:16:30Speaker 9: all of their other games have very little success offensively.
- 1:16:33Speaker 9: So you start asking yourself where the Giants now? Russ
- 1:16:37Speaker 9: was amazing in Week two in that game they should
- 1:16:39Speaker 9: have won. They lost on the long field goal Aubrey
- 1:16:42Speaker 9: and all that. But like that was a shootout in
- 1:16:46Speaker 9: the you know, and went to overtime in the fourth quarter.
- 1:16:48Speaker 9: Both teams scored forty. Like it was an unbelievably offensive game.
- 1:16:51Speaker 9: So I look back and I say, okay, now, can
- 1:16:54Speaker 9: the Giants follow up that performance against Dallas? Can they
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: follow it up against a city really good defense? They
- 1:17:02Speaker 9: didn't score? And then you ask, all right, the Bears, Okay,
- 1:17:05Speaker 9: So they do it against Dallas, Let's see how the
- 1:17:07Speaker 9: Bears do it next week, Like can they follow up
- 1:17:10Speaker 9: after playing the Cowboys and having all that, you know,
- 1:17:13Speaker 9: having more success, can they follow it up again? So
- 1:17:15Speaker 9: I think it's twofold. They got better. There's a lot
- 1:17:18Speaker 9: to build on. I thought Caleb threw three touchdowns in
- 1:17:20Speaker 9: the first half, and can they do that now as
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: the season goes on, because it seems like everyone's kind
- 1:17:27Speaker 9: of having their way the last two weeks.
- 1:17:28Speaker 8: With Dallas's defense.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: It's surprising to me, Man. I know you were talking
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: about watching Dallas the week before, but Taylor and I
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: were watching that film together and it's just surprising to
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: me as a defensive guy to see just a lot
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: of static alignment. You know exactly what covers they're about
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: to be in pre snap. There's not a lot of
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: disguise when they are blitzing. It's like everybody's across the
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: line of scrimmage. It's fascinating to me, and we're sitting
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: there watching that game, I'm like, man, why is the
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: I wonder why the line is one and a half
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: against the Bears, Like, surely Dallas and Dax smoke the Bears,
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: but then you watch the tape and you're like, oh,
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: this Dallas defense is just.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Not horrendous, and it is. Yeah, it's bad to see.
- 1:18:10Speaker 8: Yeah, they gotta figure they gotta figure it out quick.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Right, because I sit there and I look at the
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: Cowboys and I'm like, your offense, like you can get
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: it done. You can get it done and move the
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: ball and take care of it, like run it, you
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: can throw it. Like I feel good about their offense.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: But like when they go from the Giants game into
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: the Bears game and they don't change anything, and I
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: have to go back and really watch the film. But
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: as you're watching that game live, it's like they're not
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: moving at all. Before the ball is snapped, they're doing
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: the exact same thing they did last week. And if
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: you're gonna continue to be stubborn, if you're I refluce
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: and you're not, you're like, hey, this is my defense
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: is we're gonna run. You're gonna miss the playoffs and
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: you're gonna waste another year of Dak Prescott ceedee Lamb
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: gets hurt. So now all you have is George Pickens
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: and so it's like you need to They're they're a
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: very fragile foundation franchise right now.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: What I hate out of it is, you know the
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: world's gonna be coming at Dak Prescott in that offense,
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: right because the.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Fourteen points and it's like, the thing you take away
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: from that game is like, hey, Bears fans, you should
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: be excited about your defense the way they stood up.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: But you know, ceed does get hurt. Chargers beat the
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: Broncos twenty three to twenty. Chargers go up in that
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: game ten zero. Broncos answer is seventeen seventeen points unanswered,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: and then it's like, Okay, what are we going to
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: see that justin Herbert? And Justin Herbert shows that, you know,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: there's a reason why people are starting to whisper a
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: top five quarterback, top five quarterback? Did you were you
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: able to watch that game at all?
- 1:19:26Speaker 9: I didn't see that game. I saw the highlights in
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: the recap. And what I will say is because I
- 1:19:30Speaker 9: saw Week one, I saw Herbert. You know we all
- 1:19:33Speaker 9: watched that opening game. I'll say what I'll tell you
- 1:19:35Speaker 9: what the job that Harbaugh has done with that team,
- 1:19:38Speaker 9: the organization, all the all the dude does is win
- 1:19:41Speaker 9: everywhere he goes at every level and he has brought
- 1:19:44Speaker 9: out the best in Justin Herbert. And physically, I don't
- 1:19:48Speaker 9: think all of a sudden he taught him to throw better.
- 1:19:50Speaker 9: He didn't make him taller and faster and stronger. There's
- 1:19:53Speaker 9: something that Harbaugh does to his quarterbacks that makes them
- 1:19:57Speaker 9: know he unequivocally just believes in He pours.
- 1:20:00Speaker 8: Into them and it shows.
- 1:20:02Speaker 9: And I think since he's gotten there, there's a reason
- 1:20:06Speaker 9: why we've seen the best of Justin Herbert and we've
- 1:20:09Speaker 9: seen him kind of now take his game to where
- 1:20:11Speaker 9: everyone thought he could.
- 1:20:12Speaker 8: And I think that's what we've seen.
- 1:20:14Speaker 9: Harball do his in his entire career is get the
- 1:20:17Speaker 9: best out of people, especially the quarterback position. So I again,
- 1:20:22Speaker 9: I don't have any intimate knowledge of that exact game
- 1:20:25Speaker 9: or how it all went down, and I saw highlights
- 1:20:27Speaker 9: of it, but I think the Chargers are for real
- 1:20:30Speaker 9: in the AFC. I mean, I think right now it's
- 1:20:32Speaker 9: Bill's Ravens. Chiefs defensively are nasty. They got to just
- 1:20:37Speaker 9: continue to find some more points on offense. But I
- 1:20:39Speaker 9: think I think the.
- 1:20:40Speaker 8: Chargers are starting to approach that top tier group.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they've had three three in division games
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: in three weeks and they're three and zero. I mean,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: that's that says a lot. Thing you have to worry
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: about if you're the Chargers is what do they want
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: to do? They always want to run the football, and
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: you lose Naja Harris to what seemed like an Achilles' injury.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: I mean, he knew it right away. You see the
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: slom all, you see pop with the calf, and it's
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: heartbreaking because his offseason he has the fourth of July.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: But then Hampton he comes in and he starts running
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: the ball really well, has his first touchdown, looks really good.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: And so I wonder if they go and trade for
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: a running back because at the end of the day,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: it's what they want to do, is they want to
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: establish a strong run game. It's only gonna help Herbert more.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: But I'm fired up about the Chargers, their offense and
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: Jesse Minter's defense. It just proves that Michigan never cheated.
- 1:21:26Speaker 8: There you go that all that to say that, God, yeah.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: I mean, buddy, I mean, Jesse Minter is gonna be
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: an NFL head coach in the NFL next year if
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: they keep going the way they are right now. I
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: mean's McDonald two point zero. It's it's very impressive to see.
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: Do you think I have a question for you with
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: the Vikings. Do you think if Carson is playing well,
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: the Vikings end up in a weird conversation when JJ
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: McCarthy comes back. If the Vikings continue to win, well.
- 1:21:53Speaker 9: I'll tell you what I so I have the Vikings
- 1:21:54Speaker 9: this week in Dublin for flying to Ireland on Thursday,
- 1:21:58Speaker 9: so that'll be fun.
- 1:21:59Speaker 8: So they play Pittsburgh. I think it's a great question.
- 1:22:03Speaker 9: I think it's a little maybe a little yeah early,
- 1:22:06Speaker 9: I think it's surely to have that conversation, but trust me,
- 1:22:10Speaker 9: and it's hard of hearts. I think Kevin O'Connell is
- 1:22:11Speaker 9: at least preparing for that situation. And I think everyone
- 1:22:15Speaker 9: there would love that to be the problem, right, you
- 1:22:17Speaker 9: would love your everyone dreams of your backup quarterback having
- 1:22:21Speaker 9: to play due to injury and coming in and doing
- 1:22:24Speaker 9: exactly what the backup quarterbacks job, which to keep this
- 1:22:27Speaker 9: thing afloat and continue to keep us competitive and help
- 1:22:30Speaker 9: us win games. He did more than that yesterday. Obviously,
- 1:22:33Speaker 9: He's a guy that's played for multiple different teams. He's
- 1:22:36Speaker 9: had success in this league. He's been around a long time.
- 1:22:39Speaker 9: But then the other side of that coin is quarterback
- 1:22:43Speaker 9: controversy is hard.
- 1:22:45Speaker 8: It's a storyline, it's something every team dreads.
- 1:22:49Speaker 9: Do. I think it's a no brainer that if he's
- 1:22:51Speaker 9: playing well and they're winning, that they just turn it
- 1:22:53Speaker 9: right back to JJ McCarthy. I don't think it's a
- 1:22:57Speaker 9: no brainer. Would it be tough to turn your back
- 1:22:59Speaker 9: on your young quarterback who essentially is in his rookie
- 1:23:02Speaker 9: year due to the lost year last year? I think
- 1:23:05Speaker 9: it would be tough. I think it'd be hard on him.
- 1:23:06Speaker 9: I think it'd be a setback developmentally. But the ultimate
- 1:23:10Speaker 9: job of the head coach is to do what's in
- 1:23:12Speaker 9: the best interest of the team to win right now,
- 1:23:15Speaker 9: and this week will go a long way like Week one.
- 1:23:18Speaker 9: As a backup, I always say is like the easy week.
- 1:23:20Speaker 9: You catch everybody a little off guard. Now teams have
- 1:23:23Speaker 9: seen you in this offense, you got to do it again.
- 1:23:26Speaker 9: Before we start entering into all the hypothetical what ifs.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think if it keeps going well for Carson Wentz,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: what you need to do if you're Kevin O'Connell and
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: the Vikings is just become the charity franchise and pay
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: JJ McCarthy one hundred million dollars, be like, hey, get hurt,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: you can be you can be your pseudo backup, and
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: then bring first round picks in that haven't made it
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: their other franchise and revamp their entire career that the Viking.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: The Viki's gonna do a lot of charity work because
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: it seems like anyone who comes in contact with Kevin
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: O'Connell just gets better at football.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: Look at Danny diines out in indianasty.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, have you like is Daniel? Is he
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: for real?
- 1:24:03Speaker 8: I've always liked Daniel.
- 1:24:05Speaker 9: I've always thought he got a little bit of the
- 1:24:07Speaker 9: short end of the stick. I think it's I think
- 1:24:10Speaker 9: the New York market, understandably so is a tough market.
- 1:24:13Speaker 9: There's high expectations, a lot of eyeballs, a lot of scrutiny.
- 1:24:18Speaker 9: I oh, I like, he's a Charlotte kid. I trained
- 1:24:21Speaker 9: with him during you know, during COVID, so I know
- 1:24:23Speaker 9: him personally. So I'm probably biased, but I've always thought,
- 1:24:27Speaker 9: you're a big, strong, fast kid who's super smart, really
- 1:24:30Speaker 9: good demeanor good, Like, what else are you looking for
- 1:24:34Speaker 9: out of the quarterback position? Like if you're making guys.
- 1:24:36Speaker 9: He's kind of checking all of those boxes. He just
- 1:24:39Speaker 9: needed to be around a place that believed in him,
- 1:24:42Speaker 9: pour it into him. A lot of the things we're
- 1:24:44Speaker 9: saying about these other franchises with Baker, and you can
- 1:24:47Speaker 9: see the organizations that embrace a guy and say you're
- 1:24:50Speaker 9: our guy. There's no question, don't look over your shoulder,
- 1:24:54Speaker 9: just go play ball. It's amazing how much better those
- 1:24:57Speaker 9: guys play. And the job Shane Steike, it's done with
- 1:25:00Speaker 9: him out in Indianapolis in a short time. I know there's
- 1:25:02Speaker 9: a lot of controversy when he won that starting job,
- 1:25:04Speaker 9: but obviously they saw something this offseason to turn it
- 1:25:08Speaker 9: over to him, and they look like geniuses.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: What's your before we let you go? What are you
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: think in the night with Detroit Baltimore? Now, if you
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: think of prime time Lamar Jackson once that that the
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: boys that bust with the Boys is aware of. He's
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: seven and two in Monday night football games. Very good record, Greg. Now,
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: the two games he's lost, they've been they've been in
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: the month of September.
- 1:25:38Speaker 11: Wow, you poor.
- 1:25:39Speaker 8: I mean, you're getting every You're getting every angle on this.
- 1:25:42Speaker 8: That's what I'm saying no, I mean it's real.
- 1:25:45Speaker 9: I don't I personally don't buy into like I think
- 1:25:49Speaker 9: there's a lot of trends and stats and records by months,
- 1:25:52Speaker 9: and it could be as simple as you played harder
- 1:25:55Speaker 9: teams in September than you did later on. Like there's
- 1:25:57Speaker 9: always a lot of nuance to those trends with short,
- 1:26:00Speaker 9: you know, kind of small sample sizes.
- 1:26:03Speaker 8: I think it's a fascinating game. I think it's one
- 1:26:05Speaker 8: of the best games.
- 1:26:07Speaker 9: Matchups of the early you know, slate of this season
- 1:26:10Speaker 9: so far through three weeks. After Week one, I would
- 1:26:14Speaker 9: have said that the Lions they got some work to do,
- 1:26:16Speaker 9: they really missing their two coordinators.
- 1:26:18Speaker 8: Then last week they bounced way back and they looked amazing.
- 1:26:22Speaker 9: So if we get that version of the Lions, which
- 1:26:25Speaker 9: is what we've come to imagine over the last couple
- 1:26:27Speaker 9: of years, and the Ravens that we really know, I mean,
- 1:26:30Speaker 9: we could be looking at, you know, a Super Bowl
- 1:26:33Speaker 9: preview like these are two teams that are at least
- 1:26:35Speaker 9: in that conversation in their in their conferences, respectively. So
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: I can't wait to get home and watch it. My
- 1:26:44Speaker 9: gut is Baltimore is better, but I don't know I'm
- 1:26:49Speaker 9: not a gambler, I'm not a better so I don't
- 1:26:50Speaker 9: really like pick games. But I think it's a hell
- 1:26:53Speaker 9: of a game. Where is the game? Remind me where
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: the game is?
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: Baltimore?
- 1:26:57Speaker 9: All right, yeah, Baltimore night game in Baltim. I'd probably
- 1:27:00Speaker 9: give the edge. What's the line? Who's favorite? I'm assuming Baltimore's.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: Favorite, Baltimore's favorite.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not, it's not. It's not a big line though,
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: not a big.
- 1:27:07Speaker 8: Line, all right, I know what it done to my head.
- 1:27:10Speaker 8: I'd say I would think Baltimore.
- 1:27:11Speaker 9: But after last week, I feel a lot better about
- 1:27:14Speaker 9: Detroit than I did after week one.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Will had a little parlay that I threw in the
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: group chat last night. It was Chiefs altered line minus
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: six and a half and now it's five point five?
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Is a line? Huh? Five and a half?
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: So so Ravens are five and a half. But then
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: was it fifty eight and a half?
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: I like points in this game because for me, it's
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: like Baltimore is the better roster. I think the Lions
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: are on a get back, in a get back mode.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: They performed very well last week, so I like to
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: see fireworks in this when you watched the Ravens last
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: week against the Browns. Correct, it was. You know, Lamar
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: missed a few like three throws in that first quarter
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: down the field, and if they just start faster, they'll
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: get going. So I like the I like the total points.
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: I like fireworks tonight.
- 1:27:55Speaker 8: Greg.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: Yeah, we need it. We need it because we all soon.
- 1:27:58Speaker 8: We got man.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27:59Speaker 8: Well, seeing you guys, I.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Do want to ask about the Chiefs. Are the Chiefs
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: gonna be okay?
- 1:28:06Speaker 9: I think they're gonna be okay. I think their defense
- 1:28:08Speaker 9: is nasty. I think they're young. I think they're talented.
- 1:28:10Speaker 9: I think Spags is as good as it gets. They're
- 1:28:13Speaker 9: going to keep them in games like we've seen pretty
- 1:28:16Speaker 9: much all season, and you know, the last couple of years, offensively,
- 1:28:19Speaker 9: they got to find their groove a little bit.
- 1:28:21Speaker 8: I think they know that. I still think they're trying
- 1:28:22Speaker 8: to figure out personnel. You know, do they get Rashi
- 1:28:25Speaker 8: Rice back and they get you know, get some of these.
- 1:28:28Speaker 9: Young guys rolling so offensively, they they got some things
- 1:28:31Speaker 9: to figure out. But again, it's a lot easier to
- 1:28:32Speaker 9: play offense in the NFL when your defense is given
- 1:28:35Speaker 9: up less than twenty a game like it just takes
- 1:28:37Speaker 9: so much pressure off. You know how good you have
- 1:28:40Speaker 9: to be? Now, are you going to win the super
- 1:28:42Speaker 9: Bowl with that model? I went and't hang my hat
- 1:28:45Speaker 9: on it. So they got to get better offensively. We've
- 1:28:47Speaker 9: seen them get better as the years have gone on,
- 1:28:49Speaker 9: over the last couple of years when people have thought
- 1:28:52Speaker 9: they were dead. So I don't ever think you count
- 1:28:54Speaker 9: out Mahomes and Andy Reid and Kelsey and guys that
- 1:28:57Speaker 9: we've seen do it for a long time at a
- 1:28:59Speaker 9: highlight level. But there's no question offensively, they got to
- 1:29:03Speaker 9: start finding some answers.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: I love it, Greg. Thank you guys. Always get run
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: A plus for Greg, dude. Appreciate you. I know you're
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: busy and I know you're doing your thing.
- 1:29:10Speaker 8: Appreciate you, guys.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: Good luck this Wednesday. Good luck this Wednesday. I expect
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: at least three scores in the first half. We gotta
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: start fast.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Maybe you shoot the boys attext here we're at, this
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: is where we're at.
- 1:29:22Speaker 9: Yeah, we gotta start faster. That's on me. I gota
- 1:29:25Speaker 9: do a bad job a.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Go guys.
- 1:29:29Speaker 8: See you, guys see it.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: Notice that Greg did not say I love you back.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: To Okay, that's turmoil. That's stage one right there. Now
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: he knows it's getting said, you know.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because you know he got off. He's like, love
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: you shit, I didn't say it back.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: Kind of a situation. I mean, we kind of talked
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: a lot about NFL. I love to get Jack back
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: on here. He needs to talk about the Titans.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: Can we get Jack McPherson. Let's get Jack McPherson. All right.

- 1:30:07Speaker 1: the black always just makes you look a little more

- 1:30:11Speaker 1: I love the shirts. Grabs the arms, grabs that chest.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: I got a little bird chest. I don't got the
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: biggest chest in the world, but I feel a little more,

- 1:32:31Speaker 1: simply Safe.
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: Before Jack gets on here too, let's let's hit some
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: tiar talk. Yeah, we had some tier talk. We had
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: some some submissions. This first one is from Brandon at
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: Colesports Junkie hashtag tear talk about fan bases that are
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: in hell hashtag Broncos. I don't think the Denvers fan
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: base should be in hell. I think there are question
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: marks there. You start off one and two. Obviously there
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: was this expectation of the Broncos being a dark horse
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: in that division to win division. But again, you lose
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: two close games. You do got to figure some things
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: out offensively, you have a hell of a defense. You
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: are not in hell as much as say the Cowboys
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: fan base should.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: Or the Titans fan base should.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: Should be. Yes, yeah, the New York Giants fan base.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: Yeah, if you here, here's the concern I'll give to
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: you if you're worried about the Broncos, and I'm going
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: to fuel that fire a little bit. Bot Nick started
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: sixty one football games in college. Okay, you had a
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: lot of time to do a lot of things. The
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: fear there would be is he at his ceiling right now?
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: That that's the fear because you look at what the
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Broncos hanging their had on last year. It was their defense.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: And you go in there. They obviously still a great
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: defense and get a lot of person on the quarterback.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: They have a great secondary. But you look at the
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: Chargers and from a defense versus defense standpoint, the Chargers
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: played a better game yesterday and kind of show that
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: we're the best defense in the AFC West. So I
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: don't know if this is your year, but I think
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: there's there's a little bit more that you can give.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: And this is one score game right against the Chargers, who,
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: in my opinion, are quickly making themselves a top tier
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: AFC team, which is very, very exciting. So you know,
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: a little bit of sadness, a little bit of happiness overall.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: I think you're gonna behind I.
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: Like two after the game, JK. Dobbins, he had a little,
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: uh locker room interview to where he's like, n he
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: didn't he didn't play back game. We got his back.
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: I got his back. We got to do a better
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: job of making plays when we got him, whether or
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: not it's a good throw or a bad throw, like
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: we all have bon Nix's back. That's what you want
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: to see because they're I mean, it's like, you know,
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: these tight games the last two weeks. I don't think
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: the Broncos should be pressing the panic button whatsoever. They're
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: not like the fighting a Lini getting their apps and
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: the ass is absolutely pummeled India.
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: This next one comes from Michael Smith at Smitty three
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: six nine one hashtag tear talk. Did Skataboo take over
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: for CMC as an all white RB one before our
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: eyes last night?
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: I'll tell you what he did. Get the blood flown
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: below the belt last night. I'm seeing no Skataboo. Yeah,
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: go out there.
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: I do want to see him. Maybe listen the boys,
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: the defenders know you're coming. Like, let's not just go
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: full lean in with your head at all times, right,
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: like we gotta keep you, We gotta keep you around.
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: I love the juice factory of Camp Scataboo in lowering
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: the boom. But now you got to start playing with
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: the bag a little bit. Yeah, because he's got some
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: shake to him.
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: He's got shake.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: He got a great center of gravity too. Like you
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: catch an edge, No one's bringing you down, my hips, brother,
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: you can do your thing.
- 1:35:25Speaker 6: Don't fix it.
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: See yeah, now hit the spin like go down because
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: defenders are going to just startling like Scataboo that's a
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: load of detaining, right.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're the secondary and you think, my god,
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: if this boy breaks for he's not even trying, he's
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: not even trying to run past me. No, he's gonna
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: put me in concussion protocol. I think when you look
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: at CMC and you look at Scataboo, it's like when
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: CMC came through at Stanford, he had that viral video
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: coming out of him moving his feet and people being
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: like this is sped up, and it really wasn't sped
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: up because the TV in the background. It's like that's
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: where the white guys go. We got one too, Like
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: that's a thoroughbred right there. This Scataboo is a miniature
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: Clydesdale boys here to pull wagons. He is not messing
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: around like this is. We got two totally different wats
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: ripping around on the football field on Sunday afternoons. I
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: love to see it for his health and his longevity
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: in the league. I do think you switch up the
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: back a little bit. We know what his fastball is,
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: but buddy, if you throw one o five, one oh six,
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: like fucking throw one o five, one o six, you know.
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: I think what you love to see out of Scatterboo too.
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: You look at him and McCaffrey both coming in the league. McCaffrey,
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: this is collared shirt tucked in the Levi's Uh camp Scattaboo,
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: I wouldn't put it passive. He was rocking South Paws
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: a young buck. Yeah, our south Pole and not South
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: paul Man. Scataboo. Did you see the backflip in the
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: in the the touchdown celebration and that was.
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: Many he did that.
- 1:36:43Speaker 6: He did that at Arizona State with us.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but buddy, he did that backflip like three inches
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: off the ground. Didn't jump, yeah, didn't jump like Yeah.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: He is just a little ball. Uh Yeah, he's a
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: Shetland pony with the legs of a Clydesdale. See if
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: you can find that on chess.
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: I'm in my living room just standing up beat my chest.
- 1:37:01Speaker 8: Can Scattaboo.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw a couple of tweets last night to
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: get Scataboo on the bus. We will get Scataboo on
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: the bus. Yeah, he will have it. And just remember
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: the first people to know about Scataboo was busting with
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: the boys.
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: We have tried to get him on the bus.
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: It just was Yeah, it just didn't work out. He
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: was focused, he was focused on getting drafted. This one
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: comes from at.
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: Garth Garrels Girls, Garrels.
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: Tier talk how long should fan bases give a quarterback
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: before making a judgment call. I think this one is
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: a hard one. There's no hashtags, there's no specific situation
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: that he's talking about. So I'm going to give the
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: political answer of every situation is different.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: There's yeah, I agree. There's so many different variables that
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: come in when you're judging your quarterback. Let's say you
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: have great receivers, you have proven receivers in that team,
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: you have a proven offensive line, and your quarterback is
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: not abut to facilitate the ball that least is gonna
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: be much shorter than a team that you know. You
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: look at the Titans and you think, okay, like, yeah,
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: we got guys dropping balls a little bit. Cam Ward
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: his his stat line's not going to be great every
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: single week because of the product that's on the field
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: with him. And I'm trying to be as cautious as
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: possible because I do love the Titans, but it's like
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: they're not They're not a team that's anywhere close to
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: complete right now. When Cam shows splashes, You're like, all right,
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: we got a guy here, now, can we take pieces
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: and put it around him. I think that leash is
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: extremely long, as opposed to my other example.
- 1:38:25Speaker 5: I just had.
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: That's I think in the NFL a year and a half.
- 1:38:32Speaker 6: Yeah, what about like the brown situation with Flacco and
- 1:38:35Speaker 6: you had you obviously draft Yeah, we talked about it
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: with Greg a little bit, but I mean you drafted
- 1:38:40Speaker 6: Dylan Gabriel and sder Sanders.
- 1:38:41Speaker 8: Like that defense is real.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: You just need an offense, right, you need somebody that
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: can give a little spark to it. And I liked
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: I liked Greg's answer, and I didn't like brigs answer because, like,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: at the end of the day, like what he was
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: saying is the Browns offense just needs to take care
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: of the football. Well, Joe Flacco is an absolute stud,
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: and he'd like he's at the age where boy don't
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: give a shit anymore. He knows he's playing on borrow time,
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: so he'll send a thing all over the field and
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: give up multiple interceptions the game, but also throw multiple
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: touchdowns game. So if you're looking towards the future, I
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: think it's like this is nothing that's flak. I'm a
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: big Joe, cool guy. But if you're in a year
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: where you're like, we know we're not contenders, but we
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: have a great defense, let's go and throw one of
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: the young bucks in there and see what they can do. Now,
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: I love Shadora his conversation being around like practices are
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: my game day. I'm taking every single one like it.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: But then Gabriel gets in in some garbage time versus
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: the Ravens does himself a touchdown, like, hey, why not
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: you still got Judy, you still got Njoku, you got
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: you know, Judkins, who seems like he's gonna be a
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: little bit of a weapon in the league. Like you've
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: got some guys your offensive lines banked up a little bit,
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: but why not get in there and just let him toss.
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: Maybe they'll go through some looks to where they get
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: in some kind of rhythm on the back half of
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: the year, especially if you have a defense like that,
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: because you think back, it's like you got Joe smooth
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: and you look at you know, managing the game well
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: not you know, turnovers low and things like that to
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: where you allow the defense to kind of win you games.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: Back to that Ravens team. Who was a hassleback was
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: the quarterback their offense.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: They didn't really have an offense. They just needed to
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: not turn the ball over.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: The Ravens defense was gonna win you that football game.
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: It is very uh yeah, it all depends on the situation.
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: It all depends on the situation. But thank you Garth
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: for shooting in that shooting in that message. Hashtag tier talk.
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: This next one comes from at Matthew Reichel hashtag teer talk.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: Should the Bengals trade for Kirk Cousins?
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: Will should the Bengals trades for Kirk Cousins.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: It's a lot of money to have on one team.
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: It would be a lot of money to have on
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: one team, especially at the quarterback position. Browning is like, yeah,
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: they got their ass whip this week. But again, it's
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: like in a situation to where you have an elite
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: defense like Cleveland, to where hey, this is a musk,
- 1:40:53Speaker 3: like we could win if we had a serviceable quarterback there.
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: And I say that too.
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: Browning has proven that he could play in the back
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: of roll. You're gonna have games like that. I don't
- 1:41:03Speaker 3: think you're just absolutely hitting the panting button. You need
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: the defense to pick it up a bit. This is
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: like a full team effort on the Bengals part. Now,
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: if it's again, if it's like they were in the
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: Brown situation, I think you very much would want to
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: go out there and get a quarterback in now because
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: there is an opportunity to win games right now.
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, uh yeah, if you want to go ahead, well,
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: it depends like if is Joe Burrow out for three
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: months for real or it is gonna be a little longer.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: Is his season over?
- 1:41:28Speaker 5: But you're not.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: You're not gonna see that. It's way too much money
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: in one room.
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you're gonna have to pay for Kirk Cousins whether
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: or not you're going off of how he played last year,
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: and you could probably get him for cheap. I'm just
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: telling you right now, like there's you know, if you're Kirk,
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: it's like you're not going anywhere just to like play
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: for low money, right you know, on a team that.
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: Has you know, no no defense, right exactly, you have
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: Jamar Chase and Tas you have Jamar.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: Chase, and so it could be an opportunity where Kirk
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: Cousins does look at just to play Devil's Advocate where
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: he's like, hey, people think I'm not ship. There's weapons
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: over there that I can make it seem like I
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: am still the ship. Yeah, so why not get up
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: and get that thing done?
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: It's one up there from at Mick Roomy Michael Rooms,
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: Friend of the Show, Friend of the Show, Friend of
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: the Show, Michael is teams lose their best players because
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: of a borderline targeting call that changes the game. I
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: love this idea that he's putting out to us. What
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: are Busting's thoughts on making a making targeting a flagrant
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: one to two type of penalty. Flagrant one would be
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: something like an accidental head to head contact no ejection.
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: Flagrant two obvious targeting calls ejection hashtag tier talk. I
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: love that idea because that's that hurts the fucking game man.
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: We were in a situation the Nebraska Michigan game, number
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: six with number six puts a lick on Jacory Barney
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: right before right before the goal line. It was something
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: that they reviewed then they kind of took away the penalty.
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: But that's one two where it's just gray. It's like, hey,
- 1:42:55Speaker 3: if you're going just off the rule, could that be yes?
- 1:42:58Speaker 3: Do you love seeing that on the football field. Yes,
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: it didn't seem like it was uh malicious. Yeah, it
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: didn't seem like it was malicious at all. You go
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: a week earlier at LSU and with Weeks lays that
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: Lake on old buddy out there on the perimeter looks
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: like just an incredible tackle and incredible form tackle. Unfortunately
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: his head was leading. They end up ejecting him from
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: the game. So I love the idea of a flagrant
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: one flagrant two, like you have tears to it.
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: Yeah, in our segment he talk and our segment tear talk.
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I agree with everything you just said. I
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: hate the targeting call. I understand why the targeting call
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: is there to protect the players, but it's so gray
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: and it truly depends on what ref is calling it.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: And I hate that. I absolutely hate it.
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: All Right, where's there? Where's Jackie boy?
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: Jack?
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: Tennessee Nation, Titans Nation needs to hear from you, man.
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: And now I will say this about Jack McPherson, uh
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: and Garrett they are officially the flag holders of the
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: Tennessee Titans fan base. It seems like they have an
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: incredible pulse about how they feel. I hate where the
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: Titans are at right now because the pulse is very negative,
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: very low pulse. We're an ICU type of situation, whether
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: it's the coach, the team. You look at tickets distributed
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: versus the tickets that are people that are actually at
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: the game, they're not matching up at all. It is
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: cheaper to go to a Vanderbilt gate or to go
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: to a Titans game versus the Colts, and it is
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: to go to a Vanderbilt versus Georgia State Like it
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: is hard. It is tough out there, and with a
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: mostly publicly subsidized stadium coming in twenty twenty seven, it's
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: a tough look right now for the Times. And I know, Jeck,
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: we had a whole conversation about that. That's a whole
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: different thing that we don't have to get into. But
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: new stadium, Titans arguably the worst team in the NFL
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: right now. Boys, will turn it over to you. Take
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: as long as you'd like.
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: And too, Jack like, if you could paint me a
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: picture of the Titans fan base as a whole. I
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: know there's a lot of negative.
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: Maybe there's some some other takes out there on the
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: other side that maybe you were rolling through to find
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: some optimism or find some light, because I didn't want
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: once I saw where this game was going, I was
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: more so all eyes on the Eagles rams going on
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: in Philly.
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: So kind of paying us a picture.
- 1:45:11Speaker 11: I mean, I'm sure that if you were watching games
- 1:45:14Speaker 11: from your couch, you maybe caught all of two minutes
- 1:45:16Speaker 11: of the Titans Colts game. The Titans started off on
- 1:45:19Speaker 11: the third play with a pick six. Unfortunately cam Ward
- 1:45:22Speaker 11: threw one, and I literally just texted you the video
- 1:45:25Speaker 11: that I put up on Twitter, and then in the
- 1:45:27Speaker 11: same breath in this yeah, this one's for Wilcompton, in
- 1:45:30Speaker 11: the same breath, pick six, And so starting out, I
- 1:45:35Speaker 11: think it was maybe at most seventy percent capacity, and
- 1:45:39Speaker 11: that's generous. The stadium and the three hundreds was empty.
- 1:45:43Speaker 11: The club level, it was a hot day. People were
- 1:45:45Speaker 11: probably inside as well. It's just a bad situation right
- 1:45:49Speaker 11: now for the Titans. I have done my best to
- 1:45:54Speaker 11: be a good member of this company and to respect
- 1:45:59Speaker 11: our guests, but the time has come where you have
- 1:46:05Speaker 11: to set respect and rationale aside and you have to fire.
- 1:46:10Speaker 11: Brian Callahan. He had now shout out Alex Porter, who
- 1:46:15Speaker 11: works with us. He found a stat he has the
- 1:46:19Speaker 11: worst win percentage through twenty games in the history of
- 1:46:24Speaker 11: the NFL. He is now three and seventeen.
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: Three and eighteen? Is it three and eight Yeah? I
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: saw this whole thing. It was a Titans account that
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: said it is kind of on the worst coaching Titans history.
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: He's three and eighteen and Wisden Hunt was three and twenty.
- 1:46:41Speaker 11: Yeah, So again, three and eighteen doesn't help him. I'm
- 1:46:46Speaker 11: not gonna sit here, and yesterday I kind of motherfucked
- 1:46:49Speaker 11: him on Twitter. I'm sober now, I'm not gonna do that.
- 1:46:55Speaker 11: But I wrote some things down, starting with just poor
- 1:46:59Speaker 11: decision making game management. I think the number one thing
- 1:47:02Speaker 11: you can look at is the sixty to two yard
- 1:47:04Speaker 11: field goal on fourth down that was called for Joey
- 1:47:07Speaker 11: Slider kick going into half, which I didn't even realize.
- 1:47:10Speaker 11: I guess it got tipped or blocked, but regardless, the
- 1:47:15Speaker 11: delay of game penalties, just so many questionable choices in
- 1:47:19Speaker 11: critical moments that don't pay off.
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: It is.
- 1:47:23Speaker 11: It's not all on kylahan On. It's a team sport.
- 1:47:27Speaker 11: There's so many aspects that go into it. But his
- 1:47:29Speaker 11: game decision making is at an all time low. I
- 1:47:32Speaker 11: think it's honestly disrespectful to the Titans fan base. You're
- 1:47:36Speaker 11: in there, sitting at halftime and you feel like a joke,
- 1:47:39Speaker 11: being like, I'm wasting my Sunday being here, and I
- 1:47:42Speaker 11: will continue to waste my Sundays every time because I
- 1:47:45Speaker 11: love being in that stadium. I love the city and
- 1:47:47Speaker 11: our fan base, our core fan base who actually goes
- 1:47:50Speaker 11: there to watch the Titans succeed, and not to take
- 1:47:53Speaker 11: photos for Instagram like we enjoy it yesterday, especially against
- 1:47:58Speaker 11: a divisional rival home game, and to just get embarrassed.
- 1:48:02Speaker 11: There was never a moment where the Titans were in it,
- 1:48:04Speaker 11: not even one. Jonathan Taylor looked really good, Daniel Jones
- 1:48:09Speaker 11: looked very good, very efficient. There's just a lack of progress.
- 1:48:14Speaker 11: I know there was a ton of expectations that went
- 1:48:16Speaker 11: into this season, and though we have a lot of
- 1:48:19Speaker 11: new you know, things going on with players and everything
- 1:48:23Speaker 11: just surrounding cam Ward, there has to be a moment
- 1:48:27Speaker 11: where we need there needs to be time allowed to
- 1:48:30Speaker 11: get better. But it's not gonna happen under the helm
- 1:48:34Speaker 11: of Brian Cayleham. There's also a conversation to be talked
- 1:48:37Speaker 11: about with Amy Adams I'm going to table that for
- 1:48:39Speaker 11: another day just because I think we need to stick
- 1:48:41Speaker 11: with one thing.
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: You can give us just a sampler size of that.
- 1:48:44Speaker 11: I just don't know if Amy Adams is fit to
- 1:48:47Speaker 11: be the owner. I mean, it was handed down to
- 1:48:49Speaker 11: her from Bud, and everyone loved Bud, and she is
- 1:48:52Speaker 11: the stepdaughter. But and she's she's made good things, so
- 1:48:56Speaker 11: to say, for the Titans organization, but at some point,
- 1:49:00Speaker 11: like it is just if you take away the twenty
- 1:49:04Speaker 11: nineteen season, in twenty twenty two, those super playoff runs,
- 1:49:08Speaker 11: the Titans have been a miserable franchise for twenty years
- 1:49:13Speaker 11: and it's just like we got content with like just
- 1:49:17Speaker 11: having more than eight wins in a season. So yeah,
- 1:49:22Speaker 11: I mean, I'm not gonna say I was joining in
- 1:49:25Speaker 11: on the Fire Callahan chance in the stadium, But I'm
- 1:49:28Speaker 11: also gonna say that I wasn't. But when you have
- 1:49:32Speaker 11: a fan base that's sitting out in the September sun
- 1:49:37Speaker 11: in Nissan at one pm on a Sunday audibly yelling
- 1:49:42Speaker 11: fire Callahan, that's something that they need to listen to.
- 1:49:45Speaker 11: I'm not saying that I wanted to like wake up
- 1:49:48Speaker 11: this morning and see Callahan fired on Twitter. I mean,
- 1:49:51Speaker 11: I would have loved it, but I like, maybe there's
- 1:49:54Speaker 11: a couple more things ahead. I'm just we have a
- 1:49:57Speaker 11: tough road series ahead where you play the Texans and
- 1:50:00Speaker 11: other back to back divisional rival game. Then we go
- 1:50:02Speaker 11: to the Cardinals. Uh, come to Brooklyn Ball busting with
- 1:50:05Speaker 11: the boys. We'll be doing official tailgate with the Titans.
- 1:50:08Speaker 11: Hopefully we win. Regardless win and lose, we're gonna have
- 1:50:11Speaker 11: a good time. So come to Brooklyn Ball and then
- 1:50:13Speaker 11: we go to the Raiders, and then you know who
- 1:50:17Speaker 11: our next home game is?
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: Who's who? Is the Titans playing the Brooklyn.
- 1:50:20Speaker 11: Ball Arizona Cardinals, which I don't know if you know
- 1:50:24Speaker 11: who are Our next home game is after the three
- 1:50:26Speaker 11: game road shreds. But it's Mike Rabel and the Patriots.
- 1:50:29Speaker 11: So if you don't think that that Mike Rabel is
- 1:50:31Speaker 11: gonna get more applause in that stadium than Brian Callahan,
- 1:50:35Speaker 11: you're not You're not listening. You need to open your eyes.
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: Okay, So can I can I ask you a question?
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: For sure? These next three seem very winnable.
- 1:50:46Speaker 11: Yes, the Texan I mean someone I saw a tweet
- 1:50:49Speaker 11: and it's the Texans Titans game, and they said they
- 1:50:51Speaker 11: need to flex this game to four am. So yeah,
- 1:50:55Speaker 11: it's literally gonna be a ship ball and it'd be
- 1:50:58Speaker 11: it'd be huge to pick up that. And obviously the Cardinals,
- 1:51:01Speaker 11: I don't think there's anything special there, but we have
- 1:51:03Speaker 11: to play some good ball to beat them. The Raiders
- 1:51:05Speaker 11: kind of sitting that, but I hate the travel, having
- 1:51:08Speaker 11: to go to Arizona, come home, then go to Vegas
- 1:51:11Speaker 11: come home. It's a lot, like you guys know, just
- 1:51:13Speaker 11: road games three in a row, long stretch. You're you're
- 1:51:16Speaker 11: starting to, you know, feel all the hits, and and
- 1:51:20Speaker 11: then you have Jac Latham and Devandre Sweat, which Tovandre
- 1:51:23Speaker 11: Sweat you saw at first hand. Him not being there
- 1:51:25Speaker 11: to help open up for Big Jeff is really hard.
- 1:51:29Speaker 11: Our old line with how Jac, even though you can
- 1:51:32Speaker 11: have whatever a pin you have on Jac Latham, our
- 1:51:34Speaker 11: old line looked miserable yesterday and the amount of penalties
- 1:51:38Speaker 11: it was just embarrassing. It's just like you're just laughing.
- 1:51:42Speaker 7: You're like this, we average eleven through these first three games.
- 1:51:45Speaker 11: I mean, it's just like, we gotta figure some stuff out.
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: So it's not gonna get it. I'll tell you what
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: it's it's definitely a good thing. I think a road game, stretch, get.
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: Away get away. Yeah, maybe stay over there in the West.
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: Yeah, honestly in the West.
- 1:52:01Speaker 11: All I know is I'm fired up to be able
- 1:52:03Speaker 11: to just watch football on my couch next Sunday and
- 1:52:06Speaker 11: not have to coach, just sweat my ass off and
- 1:52:09Speaker 11: be angry and like yelling at teenagers who were in
- 1:52:12Speaker 11: Colts fans. A guy behind me, he was, he was
- 1:52:16Speaker 11: very vocal, and that's us. I tweeted it out. Nashville
- 1:52:19Speaker 11: is the worst city for a bad football team because
- 1:52:22Speaker 11: it's such an awesome city to come visit. And I've
- 1:52:24Speaker 11: said this many times, but if you're an away fan,
- 1:52:28Speaker 11: let's say you're the Colts, just you know, for recency bias,
- 1:52:31Speaker 11: you and your boys make a three day trip, you
- 1:52:33Speaker 11: come to Nashville, you hit Broadway Friday, Saturday, have fun.
- 1:52:36Speaker 11: You get cheap ass tickets going to a Nissan Sunday.
- 1:52:39Speaker 11: So every game it's like, at one point it felt
- 1:52:43Speaker 11: like you didn't know on a certain call, if you
- 1:52:45Speaker 11: kind of looked away, you didn't know who is cheering
- 1:52:48Speaker 11: for who because the noise level, You're like, wait, is
- 1:52:50Speaker 11: that Titan fans cheering because it's loud and you're like,
- 1:52:53Speaker 11: oh no, that was actually the Colts fans cheering. And
- 1:52:56Speaker 11: the guy sitting behind me though, he was really John
- 1:52:59Speaker 11: and like I'm like sitting there just like breathe man,
- 1:53:02Speaker 11: like it's all good, like football doesn't even matter, like
- 1:53:05Speaker 11: and I turned on end up talking to him and
- 1:53:07Speaker 11: it was like his first NFL game ever. He's like
- 1:53:09Speaker 11: a fifth year old man with his wife, and I
- 1:53:10Speaker 11: was like, honestly, this is super cool, Like I hope
- 1:53:13Speaker 11: he like for you guys to be here like enjoying
- 1:53:16Speaker 11: your first NFL game, like you're getting to whoop of
- 1:53:18Speaker 11: a rivals ass. Like I ended up. I was like,
- 1:53:20Speaker 11: you guys want me to take your photo. He's like,
- 1:53:22Speaker 11: you know what, man, that's really big of you. And
- 1:53:23Speaker 11: I was like, okay, don't patronize me. But yeah, at
- 1:53:27Speaker 11: the end of the day, I think it's still early
- 1:53:30Speaker 11: in the season to where there's the expectation. Obviously, the
- 1:53:34Speaker 11: set solo right now, and camp Ward is a very
- 1:53:36Speaker 11: young quarterback. He's shown moments of poise. Obviously, the mistake
- 1:53:41Speaker 11: on the pick six hurt. He had a solid touchdown,
- 1:53:45Speaker 11: another one to alec A o'mannor who I think he?
- 1:53:48Speaker 11: I mean, I don't even want to go down the
- 1:53:50Speaker 11: Calvin Ridley wormhole. Paying him ninety million dollars to drop
- 1:53:54Speaker 11: every single thing that comes its way sucks. I think
- 1:53:56Speaker 11: a manor will is. I mean, he is our receiver one,
- 1:53:59Speaker 11: and hopefully we can give him a moment. I think
- 1:54:02Speaker 11: this is the thing I'll end on. What most Titans
- 1:54:05Speaker 11: fans are most concerned about is the possibility of spoiling
- 1:54:11Speaker 11: cam Ward's career with us because of bad coaching, bad
- 1:54:14Speaker 11: decision making, bad ownership. I know, I know, but like
- 1:54:18Speaker 11: that's what I'm saying, Like I'm I'm It's just I've
- 1:54:21Speaker 11: had many conversations with many different kind of.
- 1:54:24Speaker 7: All that they're worried about is we got to eat
- 1:54:26Speaker 7: him and not like lose him and then we're back
- 1:54:28Speaker 7: to square one. Yeah, because not only cam but like yesterday,
- 1:54:32Speaker 7: I'm noticing our draft class, there's like five guys contributing
- 1:54:38Speaker 7: on the field, so there's a positive there. Like you
- 1:54:41Speaker 7: have a rookie quarterback, you have a rookie wide receiver
- 1:54:45Speaker 7: who's proven himself. You have a rookie at punt returner
- 1:54:49Speaker 7: who luckily got some touches at rules. You have a
- 1:54:52Speaker 7: rookie on the edge, like on the on the defensive side,
- 1:54:56Speaker 7: like that's a good sign that they're playing Gunner. Helm's
- 1:54:59Speaker 7: also like a good tights helmet.
- 1:55:01Speaker 11: Every package, it's figuring out how to not.
- 1:55:05Speaker 7: Like waste this, like you you're you're getting your guys.
- 1:55:08Speaker 7: You got good draft picks that are contributing, and it's
- 1:55:11Speaker 7: you want to see it work on the field, so
- 1:55:12Speaker 7: like it's, yeah, it's frustrating to see. The one part
- 1:55:15Speaker 7: that kind of sucked yesterday is we honored the legend
- 1:55:18Speaker 7: Mike Keith and he got in the ring of fire.
- 1:55:21Speaker 11: And it did not feel like the stated they didn't
- 1:55:25Speaker 11: have to have one. They did the Titans legend. It
- 1:55:28Speaker 11: was the guy who followed up Kevin Maway Titans legend.
- 1:55:31Speaker 11: I can't even tell you his name. I forgot about it.
- 1:55:33Speaker 11: And they did it in the beginning of the second
- 1:55:35Speaker 11: quarter like they had Juvon curse last week, and it's
- 1:55:38Speaker 11: just like it feels weird, just feels like forced.
- 1:55:40Speaker 7: And then they do it before it got too bad.
- 1:55:42Speaker 11: I think I assume they probably tried to give Mike
- 1:55:45Speaker 11: Keith his moment, but yeah, it sucks because like Mike
- 1:55:47Speaker 11: Keith is a legend. Thank god, because it's a ballfall
- 1:55:50Speaker 11: for me at this point, and thank god Mike Keith
- 1:55:52Speaker 11: is is in Knoxville doing the color commentary.
- 1:55:54Speaker 7: But that was tough to see it half though, because yeah,
- 1:55:58Speaker 7: the half the crowd obviously is going to Sessions bathroom
- 1:56:01Speaker 7: all that. There's a part of you that's like they
- 1:56:03Speaker 7: might not come back after halftime. Half of them aren't
- 1:56:06Speaker 7: even watching this moment for Mike Keith, which sucked. Burt
- 1:56:09Speaker 7: goes up and gets booed like it's rough in there.
- 1:56:14Speaker 11: And you mentioned at the beginning of it, like you know,
- 1:56:17Speaker 11: Titians are building the largest public subsidy in the NFL
- 1:56:20Speaker 11: two point one billion dollars. And outside of like the
- 1:56:24Speaker 11: fear of losing cam Ward or him like not getting
- 1:56:26Speaker 11: his moment with us, the fear is also I know
- 1:56:29Speaker 11: in that organization is if we are in this position
- 1:56:32Speaker 11: when we go into that brand new Sparkling stadium, people
- 1:56:35Speaker 11: are gonna be furious, and it's like, we just got
- 1:56:38Speaker 11: to get a little momentum.
- 1:56:40Speaker 7: So you have talent, like like I just said, you
- 1:56:43Speaker 7: have rookies that are already contributing.
- 1:56:47Speaker 5: There's something there.
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: By Jackie Boy, Yeah, why don't we take the thought
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: of the fire, Cally and you just put it on
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: the shelf.
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: Let's get on the road. Look, I'm still on the road,
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: and see what happened. I agree.
- 1:56:58Speaker 11: I'm saying fire, Kalahan, Like in a level headed atmosphere.
- 1:57:02Speaker 11: If we come back from that road stretch and we're
- 1:57:05Speaker 11: one and five or whatever, zero to six, and we're
- 1:57:07Speaker 11: going in to play the Patriots, and the Patriots come
- 1:57:10Speaker 11: here and they Malik willis us, I'm gonna be. I'm
- 1:57:15Speaker 11: gonna be way, way, way hotter on this bus and
- 1:57:18Speaker 11: I'm going to be I'm gonna start a GoFundMe to
- 1:57:22Speaker 11: I don't even know how that's gonna help, but something's
- 1:57:24Speaker 11: got to get out there. So right now, I'm being
- 1:57:28Speaker 11: as level headed as possible and I'm not saying fire
- 1:57:30Speaker 11: his ass right now. But you come back from that
- 1:57:33Speaker 11: road stretch and it's still like this, I promise you, man,
- 1:57:38Speaker 11: we might have to do a public sit out of
- 1:57:41Speaker 11: Nissan just to tell them, hey, we mean business. I mean,
- 1:57:44Speaker 11: I'll be there, but what.
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: I imagine, no, no, yeah, yeah, We'll give them the
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: three game. Like I'm not saying fire, I'm saying fire
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: with the most level head, right, so there'd be more.
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: So you're saying it emotionally, but you're gonna give them
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: these three weeks and it'll be Hey, I'm seeing the
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: board clearly.
- 1:58:01Speaker 7: If Rabel comes in here and wins and then then
- 1:58:04Speaker 7: they decide to fire Callahan.
- 1:58:05Speaker 5: That that'd be poetic circle of moment.
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: It'd be like.
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: Should be a J. Brown and John Robinson would.
- 1:58:12Speaker 8: Be so ah.
- 1:58:15Speaker 11: So we'll see. Man, it's always tighten up though. Keep
- 1:58:18Speaker 11: the faith, guys, we have to have You can't do that.
- 1:58:24Speaker 8: You have to.
- 1:58:25Speaker 11: It's bigger than it's bigger than an owner. It's it's
- 1:58:29Speaker 11: the shield, It's it's the Titans. Man. We're fortunate that
- 1:58:32Speaker 11: twenty five years ago we got a team from Houston
- 1:58:36Speaker 11: to come to the great state of Tennessee in the
- 1:58:39Speaker 11: heart of where the capital lives, in Nashville, Tennessee. And
- 1:58:43Speaker 11: we cannot get people an excuse to think for even
- 1:58:46Speaker 11: a moment that that was a mistake bringing the team
- 1:58:48Speaker 11: to Nashville, because Nashville is an amazing place to be.
- 1:58:52Speaker 11: But the only thing that Callahans have contributed to the
- 1:58:54Speaker 11: Tennessee Titans is Big Bertha, and that is it.
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: Big Birthday is night.
- 1:58:59Speaker 11: That's a nice And trust me, when they fire Callahan,
- 1:59:03Speaker 11: they better load the gun with one bullet and line
- 1:59:06Speaker 11: him and his dad up because they're both gone. Because
- 1:59:09Speaker 11: our O line is embarrassing. And that's that's all I
- 1:59:13Speaker 11: have to say. Tighten up, baby, tighten up.
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: I don't even know what to do with Jack Fann.
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: Give me just a few things. That why Titan fan
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: Bay should be like happy because.
- 1:59:28Speaker 11: Because we have a rookie quarterback, that one is a leader.
- 1:59:32Speaker 11: He's composed and in a moment to where all eyes
- 1:59:35Speaker 11: are looking at him and everybody wants to see it
- 1:59:39Speaker 11: just tank and fail more. He is just playing ball
- 1:59:42Speaker 11: and he wants to so I think cam Ward is
- 1:59:45Speaker 11: is the core value of that. And then I think
- 1:59:48Speaker 11: Garrett said at first too, not just cam Ward, Like
- 1:59:50Speaker 11: we have really like a great rookie draft class that
- 1:59:53Speaker 11: is showing promise on the field, and if we can
- 1:59:56Speaker 11: just get some other things surrounded by them and clean
- 2:00:00Speaker 11: up penalties and bad coaching decisions, like you know, we're
- 2:00:05Speaker 11: just a few games away from having something to believe
- 2:00:08Speaker 11: in a game. And the fucking AFC South is I mean,
- 2:00:11Speaker 11: the Colts are good and the Jags aren't bad either.
- 2:00:14Speaker 11: But like, also the Texans, they don't look great, but
- 2:00:17Speaker 11: I think that we're taking a lot of heat off
- 2:00:19Speaker 11: of them because there's so much national press around number
- 2:00:23Speaker 11: one draft pick Brian Kylellahan his record. There's just so much.
- 2:00:27Speaker 11: But I do it like this has been one of
- 2:00:30Speaker 11: the most successful draft classes we've had in a long time.
- 2:00:33Speaker 11: So like, I can't hate Callahan about that.
- 2:00:36Speaker 6: I can't.
- 2:00:37Speaker 11: But I think if there is anything like, yeah, believing
- 2:00:40Speaker 11: cam Ward, I still do. And I until like he
- 2:00:43Speaker 11: had that mistake on the pick six. Sure, I said
- 2:00:46Speaker 11: it before the season camp. Kim Moore's gonna throw a pick.
- 2:00:48Speaker 11: Kim Moore's gonna throw two picks. I mean everyone will inevitably,
- 2:00:52Speaker 11: so like, unfortunately the first one is a pick sick
- 2:00:54Speaker 11: at the beginning of the game, kills all momentum. But yeah,
- 2:00:58Speaker 11: we gotta just we gotta Kim hurt and not be
- 2:01:01Speaker 11: I mean, Joey sli is our leading scorer, our kicker,
- 2:01:05Speaker 11: and I really wish he had drilled that sixty two
- 2:01:08Speaker 11: yarder because he he has that in his bag.
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: But it looks like fucking yeah, yeah, it's tough out there,
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: huh yeah.
- 2:01:16Speaker 11: But I mean I don't want to be spoon fed
- 2:01:18Speaker 11: fucking championships. We have character here in Nashville because we've
- 2:01:23Speaker 11: we've hurt, and we've cut our teeth with horrible losses,
- 2:01:26Speaker 11: our whole lives.
- 2:01:27Speaker 2: Good news.
- 2:01:28Speaker 1: Twelve years ago we went two and fourteen, three and thirteen, yep,
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: and then it rattled off a few nine and seven
- 2:01:33Speaker 1: Seasons's twelve more. We can fucking we can do this.
- 2:01:38Speaker 7: Yeah, it's there, dude, I mean it's this week is
- 2:01:42Speaker 7: not a good example for that, but the first two games,
- 2:01:44Speaker 7: the first half, like we're in there, even the Broncos
- 2:01:48Speaker 7: game problems, Like, you're in there.
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: You can win that game, buddy, if you guys just
- 2:01:52Speaker 1: get rid of the penalties. I know it's a that's
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: a ridiculous statement coming from me, but.
- 2:01:56Speaker 11: It's like, sweet yesterday, uh is one I responded to No.
- 2:02:03Speaker 11: I was like, way, yeah, I was firing off. I said,
- 2:02:06Speaker 11: way too many penalties. Need your expertise, tailor.
- 2:02:10Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think I did respond to ID this
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: is this is too much even for me, because it
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: is I watched pretty.
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: Much that game.
- 2:02:18Speaker 11: Yeah, hey, good on you. And Taylor gave me a
- 2:02:20Speaker 11: call yesterday and I missed it and check and I
- 2:02:23Speaker 11: just look at Taylor want miss call, and I go
- 2:02:25Speaker 11: fuck and Taylor had some Really it was it was
- 2:02:28Speaker 11: a great little seven minute convo, inspiring and you know,
- 2:02:33Speaker 11: it was just nice to get that shower and just
- 2:02:35Speaker 11: be like, oh, man, I can breathe.
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: When I got up in the morning on Sunday and
- 2:02:39Speaker 1: I popped on the old bird and I saw you
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: screaming at Colts fans.
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: Today a bud light in hand.
- 2:02:45Speaker 11: Shut up, bud light.
- 2:02:46Speaker 1: And then I watched a pick six in the VideA
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: Jack might not show up tomorrow out of the stadium
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: being like fuck this fuck Cali.
- 2:02:58Speaker 11: I'm like, oh my god, the only thing that really
- 2:03:01Speaker 11: kept me in it. And unfortunately Will at your costs,
- 2:03:03Speaker 11: I was like, man, at least Will is getting his
- 2:03:06Speaker 11: head shaved today.
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: I did wake up.
- 2:03:10Speaker 1: I woke up with the spring of my step this
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: morning knowing that Will was getting his haircut.
- 2:03:13Speaker 11: First meet, I was like, a Cheff was one of
- 2:03:17Speaker 11: our new guys. He said, he was like, dude, I like,
- 2:03:19Speaker 11: I just didn't even feel anything, Like I don't feel
- 2:03:22Speaker 11: He's like, is it bad that I'm just not feeling
- 2:03:23Speaker 11: anything about the Titans, like being bad and I'm like, no,
- 2:03:25Speaker 11: I feel like that's like a lot of people, it's
- 2:03:27Speaker 11: just kind of the standard right now.
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: It goes back to the standard we talked about with Clemson,
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: Like you fire Dabo, You're gonna go back to what
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: you were before.
- 2:03:35Speaker 11: For sure.
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: The good thing for the Titans is there there is
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: no standard right now. No, you have no standard. It hurts,
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: but it also kind of helps.
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, So scary team, got nothing to lose.
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: Amen going into Houston, amal animal.
- 2:03:51Speaker 3: They might have some trouble with that D line from Houston,
- 2:03:53Speaker 3: for sure, got slow down. This is an undergame, an undergame, CJ.
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: He's having a tough one out there right now.
- 2:04:02Speaker 7: What suck to hear was that colds wide receiver be
- 2:04:04Speaker 7: like we walked on the field and saw that they
- 2:04:06Speaker 7: just didn't even want it.
- 2:04:07Speaker 2: Oh, like.
- 2:04:10Speaker 1: That is that is heartbreaking?
- 2:04:13Speaker 11: Yeah, Jones is taking him apart.
- 2:04:16Speaker 1: Jambs might be your MVP.
- 2:04:18Speaker 2: He looks he might be your MVP. Who knows. Hey,
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: he does look good, it feels good.
- 2:04:23Speaker 7: It is in a good spot for himself.
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: And I loved hearing uh. I think it was Saquan
- 2:04:27Speaker 3: before the weekend. He was like, man, there is seeing
- 2:04:31Speaker 3: how everything went down with him in New York. There's
- 2:04:32Speaker 3: nobody I'm rooting for harder to have success based on
- 2:04:36Speaker 3: how good of like, you know, a dude, a worker
- 2:04:38Speaker 3: of everything Daniel Jones is. So it is really cool
- 2:04:40Speaker 3: to see him kind of balling out, especially when they
- 2:04:42Speaker 3: made that switch and the whole world was on fire
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: about giving up on Anthony Richardson and he's going out
- 2:04:47Speaker 3: there and proving those decision makers right.
- 2:04:50Speaker 1: Saved a lot of people's jobs. Yeah, and I also
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: love was Itsassa's daughter on the field taking notes the
- 2:04:59Speaker 1: whole time, has a ear piece in listening to play call,
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: Like who knows what she's actually doing, but the intentional,
- 2:05:05Speaker 1: being intentional about her father's team is very very cool
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: to me. I love it. Culture Spicy and the Wars
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: of will compon Spicy.
- 2:05:15Speaker 2: Spicy Keith the Faith, Jaguars.
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: Jaguars, the Culture went in the division.
- 2:05:23Speaker 7: There, man, I'm just I mean, in the AFC, there
- 2:05:27Speaker 7: got to be one of the best three teams.
- 2:05:28Speaker 11: Damn breaking news. I mean you'll hear this tomorrow, but
- 2:05:32Speaker 11: Ceede Lamb, this is today.
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: This is the recap show.
- 2:05:35Speaker 11: Oh yeah, so perfect. Ceedee Lamb will likely miss four
- 2:05:38Speaker 11: to six weeks diagnosed with a high ankles. Buddy, that
- 2:05:41Speaker 11: is the worst news for the especially after the Cowboys
- 2:05:44Speaker 11: losing the Bears yesterday.
- 2:05:45Speaker 1: One CD went down. It was their offense was done.
- 2:05:48Speaker 8: They handled them.
- 2:05:49Speaker 11: It wasn't fun to watch. Yes, it was like the
- 2:05:51Speaker 11: Chiefs game. It's after the game, you're just like man.
- 2:05:55Speaker 8: On a movie.
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: So you were gone.
- 2:05:57Speaker 3: Obviously you're watching Titans often and so you're in like
- 2:05:59Speaker 3: your own little hell. But there were some moments yesterday
- 2:06:02Speaker 3: in the afternoon. It's like the blocked kicks that were
- 2:06:05Speaker 3: getting taken back the Jets and Baker goes on a
- 2:06:08Speaker 3: game winning drive. Again, you think the Jets are about
- 2:06:10Speaker 3: to win the game because they blocked that kick. Oh,
- 2:06:13Speaker 3: I love the Eagles snuck it out of Minnesota, Carson
- 2:06:17Speaker 3: Wentz looking good. Yeah, the Eagles Rams game at the end.
- 2:06:21Speaker 3: Not only that, but the entire gambling world that had
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: the Rams like plus two and a half, plus three
- 2:06:25Speaker 3: and a half and then it gets blocked and taken back.
- 2:06:27Speaker 1: I was hoping Geordie Davis would go down. I'm like,
- 2:06:29Speaker 1: just let yeah fall fall, fall fall, Because Buddy, I
- 2:06:33Speaker 1: I was one of those gamblers that had them, had
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: a bag on them too.
- 2:06:36Speaker 7: After the falcons'll watch that at all.
