Lucas: Good. And if you want to say 'I play football', you say 'Je joue au football'. Let's break it down: je joue — I play, au football — football. Je joue au football. Luna: Je joue au football. Lucas: Nice. You can also say 'faire du sport', which means 'to do sports'. Faire du sport. Luna: Faire du sport. Lucas: Exactly. So you could say 'Je fais du sport' — I do sports. Now, another sport: swimming. In French, it's 'la natation'. La natation. Luna: La natation. Lucas: And the verb 'to swim' is 'nager'. Nager. Luna: Nager. Lucas: Perfect. So let's practice a little scene. Imagine you're talking to a friend. Luna, you ask me: 'Tu fais du sport?' Luna: Tu fais du sport? Lucas: Good. And I answer: 'Oui, je joue au football et je nage.' So: yes, I play football and I swim. Luna: Oui, je joue au football et je nage. Lucas: Now you try. Say 'I swim.' Luna: Je nage. Lucas: Perfect. And 'I do sports'? Luna: Je fais du sport.
