- 4:59[SPEAKER_25]: And boy, the temper, you know the weather's been nice.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_25]: It can't complain about this summer.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_25]: It was over the weekend, both sunny days wasn't even predicted.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_25]: And today it's pretty nice out there too, so enjoy it.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_25]: Because it's in three weeks, it'll be Labor Day or something like that.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_25]: Three or four weeks.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_25]: Not too far off, it will.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_25]: Some news over the weekend.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_25]: You know, this kind of broke Friday.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_25]: Yankees released it.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_25]: Kind of a farewell note from pitching great Tommy John, who was, should be in a hall of fame with 288 wins, but isn't.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_25]: Anyway, Tommy is under hospice care in Bradenton, Florida, where he and Cheryl Lowe.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_25]: Zeldon John, Luf, is a lovely bride.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_25]: And he spoke wistfully in the letter about how much he appreciates everybody and all of that.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_25]: So it sounds like what it is.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_25]: And you know, prayers go out to Tommy.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_25]: I remember when he sat in this studio, and Vita Blue was here.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_25]: Now Glenn Curry would remember Vita Blue.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_25]: A lot of the rest of you wouldn't use it up Oakland A's picture.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_25]: But boy, they were just great guys, great to talk baseball with, and I happen to run into Tommy and other events around town at the Elx Club and other things.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_25]: He was always friendly and always, no matter what you're wanting to talk about in baseball, you know, you want to talk about Fritz Petersen swapping lives or anything else.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_25]: He had an opinion.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_25]: Great guy, and we wish him well.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_25]: We wish him well.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_25]: That's not good.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_25]: They say there's a higher chance of those.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_25]: Oh, that's not the case up here.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_25]: We don't need any.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_25]: Think like that.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_25]: Well, I'll tell you.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_25]: The story that caught our eye this morning was not, you know, what's happening in the straight of whole moves, which is nothing really.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_25]: But it was on news junkie and on crime radar.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_25]: There were a couple reports, but the one we've
- 7:19[SPEAKER_25]: report of a naked woman running in the 300 block of factory street.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_25]: That's right, by well, has always been known as Col Sante's tavern.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_25]: Of course, that's currently closed for some renovations, but anyway, that's where it was.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_25]: Of course, it was on the, yeah, on the scanner and all of that.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_25]: Let's listen in.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_27]: I can't wait for a female running down the road naked.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_27]: She's currently in a small shop.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_27]: He fell.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_27]: You can see your ghost and feet.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_27]: He's waiting for another car.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_27]: What's your easy?
- 7:59[SPEAKER_20]: He's up.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_27]: Covering.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_16]: They didn't know it was her.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_27]: County that any unit near the city, they can back a city unit.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_27]: Any area?
- 8:11[SPEAKER_27]: I'm close for a female running naked in the street.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_20]: Night's having this classroom item with persons want to do a clear piece of beef.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_27]: Probably one, two, two, stand by.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_27]: I don't like it for the details.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_27]: One, two, you can disregard.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_27]: They have two units in her.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_20]: Can I be disregarding?
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you have your measures, one, come on.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_27]: Carmen, what's the danger?
- 8:32[SPEAKER_27]: You can't get any points in.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_27]: Come from me, you said, make an employment.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_20]: Parts of the year also, or, you know, of course.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_27]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_27]: I don't know what came of it and unfortunately a woman running naked down the street is not the type of story
- 9:00[SPEAKER_25]: that the dignified, serious journalist would cover.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_25]: But it is of interest to people.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_25]: And especially if she was poisoned, now poisoned indicates a criminal act, like somebody did it to you.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_25]: But not an after me nap.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_25]: You could poison yourself inadvertently or whatever.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_25]: But anyway, you know when I was married, it never make it women running down the street, you know.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_25]: Never happen.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_25]: Never happened.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_25]: Well, I, then over the weekend, we had another knifeing on a academy street.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_25]: We had a huge brawl in the arcade, a pedestrian was injured in a traffic accident on a nursing olden.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_25]: There were reports of other brawls.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know what's going on in water town.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_25]: This old town is Alex stuff he used to call it.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_25]: you know it's getting pretty uh pretty wild out there pretty wild there any comment on it give us a call would be glad to hear it now now what have we got
- 10:23[SPEAKER_25]: Somebody says the time they waste asking do you need another car that person should be there to find out for themselves?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_19]: Well, I don't know, you want to have that cup.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_25]: Especially if it's, you know, if you're an officer, what do you do with a naked woman?
- 10:37[SPEAKER_25]: You can't touch her, apprehender that way.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_25]: So you don't have to call one of the female officers.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_25]: One assumes, that's how it works, I don't know.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_25]: Just don't know.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_25]: the other story that caught my fancy over the weekend has to do with our good friends out in the town of Watertown, you know, you got the city and you got the town and you know, and there's a lot of commercial development in the town.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_25]: Now they have their nice houses up on the Faisant Road or the Kagwin Road.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_25]: Those places and they have to be protected from society but out of Arsenal street it's just a variety of stores and fast food places, gas stations and nothing wrong with that.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_25]: It's
- 11:26[SPEAKER_25]: So a chain called Gave's Hot Chicken wants to take the old TGIFs that was out there.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_25]: Inverted into one of their restaurants.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_25]: Well, it sounds good.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_25]: Job job jobs, jobs sales tax created, you know, a new option for people to eat.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_25]: Maybe you think those too many chicken places, but if somebody wants to invest in it, fine.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_25]: But then we get in this weird situation.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_25]: Now I understand the need for rules and codes.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_25]: And to make sure that the wiring is safe and the doors open out and have crash bars.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_25]: It's all those codes I agree with.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_25]: And I comply with, actually, but when these people plant town planning board, just people who have got through a little bit of power and by going to use it.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_25]: they won't let them put up well this this Dave's chicken you can look it up online all those stories look different they have kind of a uh they call it a graffiti art or something like that it's just bright colors it's kind of neat actually and once i've seen i looked at several of mine
- 12:44[SPEAKER_25]: Um, but that town of water town, they think that's too garrish, too.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_25]: It's just not consistent with the character of her.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_25]: What character of community?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_25]: If you want to put bright colors on your building, so what?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_25]: You know, the local government's not a homeowner's association.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_25]: Who you can, huh?
- 13:07[SPEAKER_25]: I'm surprised.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_25]: I'm thinking this morning.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_25]: a lot of people get metal roof style and I've got a red lamp seen silver ones and blue ones brown ones and green ones and black ones.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_25]: I'm surprised all these people that want to get pecking.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_25]: your lives aren't passing judgment on those.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_25]: But anyway, so in the times, a picture of one of the planning board members out in the town of Watertown, you know, it's rather old.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_25]: And he's looking at all these renditions of different stores.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_19]: We don't want that.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_25]: We don't want that.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_25]: Not in our little town.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_19]: Oh, no.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_25]: How's that going to affect
- 13:51[SPEAKER_25]: you know the people up on phasant road, how's that going to affect the people on outer growth of me isn't it's a commercial strip and signage is how business attracts businesses for business you have to you can't just how else you're going to do it you have to have something that draws people in or that recognize oh the golden arches I like their fries oh you know various other things burger king everything
- 14:19[SPEAKER_25]: That's what commercial communication is all about.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_25]: But these people who want to nitpick a nanny your life, these little nines, they don't look at the who's government control.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_25]: And so we're going to tell Dave's not chicken.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_25]: That's just not acceptable in our community.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_25]: What is it dirty dancing or something?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_25]: Come on, man.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_25]: But after you do not run the air, Yeah, I love this to me.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_26]: Oh boy, a lot of stuff, but I want to talk about time and time.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_26]: I'm so sad.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_26]: He's sick.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_25]: Mm-hmm.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_26]: He said he really loved it up here.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_26]: I didn't buy a cabbage up this way and suddenly loved it so much.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, he did, and he lived out West for a while too, but he was a fixture here for a while.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_25]: It were not used to seeing famous people.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_26]: Yeah, my dad met him and didn't even know it.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_26]: He was into crystal wood and he's talking to the sky
- 15:16[SPEAKER_26]: He buys his jeans, the Walmart, and then the bartender goes to my dad, you know what that was?
- 15:24[SPEAKER_26]: He goes, no, he's a very tiny giant of famous picture.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_26]: He goes, oh wow, he just seemed like a regular guy.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_25]: Well, he's a regular guy, yeah.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_26]: Yeah.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_26]: The grand curry show.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_26]: Oh yeah.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_26]: And my question was, you got any building mountain stories for me?
- 15:42[SPEAKER_26]: And they go, oh yeah, I got especially one that took you like.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_26]: He goes, I've got folks from the game, and I remember we went to the locker room and we got to go past his office, and we hear noises like it's a couple of having sex, it was really loud and with the secretary who turned out to be a future wife, and Grand Curious, we just before that day, because this was during the game, and I remember watching the one game, and
- 16:14[SPEAKER_26]: And he noticed that very much now in the dugout, he was able to have some important business stuff in his office, and then he came out, where he had some business in his office.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_26]: But I thought that was a really cool time and chance story, and I was so open to me, he had some things around town, town, and stuff, so I don't be moved through.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, okay.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_25]: Well, I hope he does too.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_26]: Yeah, the pretty good story, though, huh?
- 16:42[SPEAKER_25]: It is, yes.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_25]: Thank you by now.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_25]: Well, somebody just pointed out there's been a statement released from city hall on recent violent crimes and it comes from Mayor Sarah Pierce and police chief Kristen Lion, that's kind of an odd thing.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_25]: The mayor putting out a statement with the police chief, you know, it's not like we're a real city in the mayor's and charge, but I'll read it to you in a moment, but meanwhile we get another call, but I will read it to you.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_25]: It's a news junkie
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: Well, good afternoon, Jeff.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_25]: Russ, Finley, how are you?
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well, road hard put away what, but still striking.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_25]: Well, we got a lot of things down here.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_25]: You know, we had a report of a naked woman running down factory street.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_25]: We had another knife in this weekend or he had a big, big, big brawl.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: We never had naked women running down Fulton Road, so I'm jealous.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, there you go.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_25]: Well, you were in Fulton County last night in the village of or in Mayfield on the shores of the Great Sock and Daga Lake, right.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes, I was.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_25]: Is it a great lake?
- 17:48[SPEAKER_25]: Is it great?
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: What a beautiful.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it is beautiful.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: And absolutely beautiful.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, when you go to places like that, you look around and you go, yeah, this is New York.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: And unfortunately, you were tarnished by that cesspool in one corner.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_25]: Mm-hmm.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_25]: Where's that?
- 18:05[SPEAKER_25]: Oh, New York City.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we're Governor Mondami lives in Lieutenant Governor Hulkel visits.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_25]: Now, you were there for the Constantine O'Reilly, which was well-attended, I hear.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: It was packed.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: Was there?
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: There was easily over 200 people there.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_25]: Okay.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_25]: And uh...
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: about it was, I mean, it was a beautiful place, it was a fancy place, don't get me wrong.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_02]: But there was everything there from people in thousand dollar suits down to, you know, people rolling in on their Harley's with their, you know, their gear and their leather.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it was, it was a really nice mix of people.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_25]: Okay, and then, of course, Mr. Constantine was there with his fiance, who you met.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_25]: also who been a tutorial candidate Bruce Blakeman yep now because of where that place is it's not going to be on the news up here uh... so what was the reaction of both to both candidates uh... very very positive i mean you know and to me and to me catching his stride you know very well very impassioned speech
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: he got introduced by one of the world's best MMA fighters who you know very very articulate man and you know Blakeman Blakeman for all his playables and you know being from Long Island you know he knows the issues yeah knows what's he knows what's destroying the state he knows what we've got to fix but again like I said this state cannot survive
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: another four years of Governor Mondami and Lieutenant Governor Holcomb.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_25]: Okay.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_25]: Well, we'll see on that.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_25]: Now, was there anybody from Watertown there?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_25]: Are this there?
- 20:04[SPEAKER_25]: No?
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: It was all the, you know, Albany region.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: There was a lot of, there was a judicial candidate there for St. Lawrence County.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: There was a judicial candidate for a judicial candidate for Franklin County.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a long ways to go, I mean, from my house, from front door to front door, it was a little over three and a half hours to get down there, so I can't blame people for... Oh, sure, yeah.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_25]: But you also attended an event where Mr. Concentino was up in Wattington, a parade on Saturday wasn't?
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about Anthony.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: at that parade because he's the first person I've ever seen that's running for office that is actually having fun with it.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean he's out there talking to people and throwing candy and there's just nothing, there's nothing fake about it.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: He's there because he likes people and he was having fun and talking to the kids and shaking hands and he you know he kind of
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: it it energizes them it's there's there's no phoning about it i i like i said i i got to spend quite a bit of time with them this weekend and i learned a lot about them and for the first time i'm seeing a a politician or somebody running for office well i see that and and certainly the uh... photo we ran on uh... the blog of uh... in a suit with uh... is uh... fiance uh... you know is there a good image unfortunately
- 21:45[SPEAKER_25]: What is it with all these crazy things he puts on Facebook?
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's who he is.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_25]: I mean, that's... Oh, I know you're on a spot there.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to put you on a spot, but... Well, I mean, it's not that I'm on the spot, but, you know, I'd rather have somebody look at me and tell me to go to hell.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: then smile in my face and then turn and tell everybody else in the crowd I wish that guy would go to hell and and that's you know that's kind of how it is and you know let's let's face it I mean crap you see on Facebook at the end of the day does that really
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: it over over time and over you know this this is a totally this is a totally different type of business politics is a totally different type of business and when you've been your own person for a long time and post it whatever you want and said whatever you want and then to jump into the court of public opinion and public persona it's it's
- 23:00[SPEAKER_25]: Well, things are out there today.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_25]: I remember years and years ago, we had a congressman who got married and then his wife was dancing on the table at the reception.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_25]: Well, anecdotally got out, but boy, there was no visual evidence of that ever, or mention of it.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_25]: But now you can't control that, so people make memes out of things and all this other stuff.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: world now where you know there's there's no every every interaction is digital not human and that's that's truly unfortunate.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: Now the good thing is I guess there's going to be some debate scheduled and they're going to be you know not too candidates and Jeff Cole in a closet with you know Jeff asking the questions that have been pre prescribed
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: Um, they're they're going to be actual events where people can come in, they can watch the event, they can interact with the candidates and stuff like that.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_25]: Well, I hope they put a mind TV live because we have this thing in the North country that we taped away everything.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_25]: It's just like silly, uh, it should be right.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're going to be broadcast live on the internet through, um, I think it's the same station that did the small and constant, you know, debate.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: is one of them involved with it and they have a very active real-time YouTube channel.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_25]: Well, they did a nice job.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_25]: That's WRGB channel 6, and it's connected to it.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_25]: And you know, it's too bad that if they produce something there with today's technology, stations in other markets, water, townplats, bird, whatever, I wouldn't just carry it and take a couple of nails and sell them, make a little money, but
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: you know what channel six to the work is they know what they're doing so I don't know but well and and and and they're kind of buying for clicks to so i see w c a x out of burlington wants to host uh... at debate in clatsburg but having been involved with that break us up there they'll they'll try and do it with the he's the composited format with you know no spectators in studio and i just
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like that yet.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see that I want to see the candidates interact with the people.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_25]: Alright, some other unrelated issue.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think as it's really easy to just stand there at a podium with just you the other guy and a moderator.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's a cake walk.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: When you have to stand there in front of a couple of a hundred people and give your answers, then it's a totally different game and that's where the light shines.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_25]: On other issues, after 30 years, they're finally on trial as a guy they say, killed two Pock.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_25]: Have you followed that?
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: No, not really.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_25]: I guess they really don't have any evidence other than this guy said some stupid things in some publications, but there's no.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_25]: But that was a mystery for a lot of years.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_25]: well as far as I know from watching the movie eight mile i thought two plaque was alive and well and living in the behamas that could very well be and some other things hit him jfk and all of us are hanging out of the command uh... yeah i watched a news one piece they had an extensive uh... background around syrith uh... cometer ready the uh... abg candidate for the republicans she's quite impressive oh she's very very well spoken
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: She's very well-spoken and you can see the prosecutor in her.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: She comes off as very nice and very smart, but also very much not somebody you want to mess with.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_25]: Well, yeah, she was Chief of Staff for the DEA.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_25]: She was nominated to a judge ship.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_25]: That didn't make it through.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_25]: But anyway, she was, I think, in the US attorney's office in Manhattan.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: the attorney general who calls people like us to mail to pale and to stale uh... and uh... and so while i can't tell rather she's saying it to you were the guy over on the left side of the room right right so uh... and she's a racist isn't she oh my god horrible yeah horrible i mean you want to talk about discrimination try being a white middle class middle age heterosexual mail with a pick up
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: in New York State I'm I'm hated by everybody just because I'm taking brass mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm mm
- 28:09[SPEAKER_25]: we've got a lot of really good candidates and unfortunately we have five counties with a lot of stupid people there you go well you've got that well for counties uh... statin islands there's smart but uh... one one final point there was a i guess a rapprochman i guess you're a scholar making up uh... with the saint on its county republicans they see
- 28:39[SPEAKER_25]: chair was did a video with Constantine O and they seem to have paid paper over the differences that were out there.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I mean like I said, it's there's for the first time I'm seeing you know, may a cop is on both sides.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Anthony Anthony said, you know, I can't do this without your help and they said he's
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: and now they're working together and that that parade in Wattington you know while it was a small parade and he got some interaction with a lot of you know right normal people yet it really helped him unify the republican party behind him and it's it's slowly growing throughout the district so i think i think we're in a i think we're in a very good place i think the republican party has started to
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: to candidates any more of the people are going to take our candidates.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_25]: And you know, Mr. Gendaby, who got off to a quick start last year, but I don't hear too much.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_25]: I'm not saying that to be partisan because we'd be glad to have them in the studio or what pictures on my blog if they sent them to us, but I don't see a lot going on with him.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Um, no.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like I said, I know Blake is fellow farmers around the corner from me.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: I call him a friend, you know, we do talk, but I've also told him that there's no way in hell I'd ever vote for him, but he's getting sucked into that Democrat of, we don't want you out, chalking to the masses.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: You have to come and preach to the choir in our events, so we can give you money and we can control what you say, what you think, what you do.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_25]: The Jamie Raskin thing, yeah.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, be in scene with Jamie Raskin and Paul Tonko.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like the... Well, I like... Tonko, I thought, was a kid's toy that belonged to a sandbox until I'm like a wait a minute.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's a Congress.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_25]: I like the lady in Wisconsin and wants to get rid of Thanksgiving.

- 35:38[SPEAKER_25]: it happened out the uh... letter this is a state this is rare because then i'm not sure uh... because the city manager is not part of it and uh... i don't know whether the mayor went over his header whatever but uh... it's a statement from their peers and chief christian lion you know somebody taxing we always use that phrase a city fathers and he's must be the city mothers i guess but uh...

- 36:28[SPEAKER_25]: We want to take a moment to address the recent vinyl events in our community.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_25]: It is important to note that these events are not related and are isolated events.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_25]: There is no overreaching concern for the general public.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_25]: Water towns are small city and these recent vinyl acts are something where a custom to seeing, we understand that these incidents are concerning to residents and we want you to know that we hear those concerns and take them seriously.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_25]: At the same time, it's important to recognize that water towns not alone in facing challenges.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_25]: Communities across New York state and throughout the country are experiencing violence, disorder, and other issues that affect public safety.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_25]: There are complex factors behind many of these, often including domestic issues, substance abuse, and mental illness.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_25]: Unfortunately, local government law enforcement cannot solve all of them on their own.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_25]: What we can do and what we are doing is continue to use every resource available to protect our community.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_25]: Our police officers are working around the clock 24-7 to respond to calls, investigate crimes, make a rest and want appropriate deter criminal activity and keep people safe.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_25]: They're working in coordination with other city departments as well as county and state law enforcement agencies.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_25]: Additionally, our officers and other city employees are doing this work within the resources available to the city, and within the confines of New York State law.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_25]: We recognize residents sometimes want immediate action in situations where the city simply does not have the legal authority or resources to take it.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_25]: That can be frustrating for everyone, and including the people on the front lines trying to address these issues.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_25]: A safe community cannot be created by police officers and city workers alone.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_25]: It requires the involvement of all of us, including residents.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_25]: There are practical things each of us can do to help.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_25]: Number 1.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_25]: Report crimes when you see them happening if you witness a crime or attract a someone safety call 911, importantly, please don't assume that someone else is already called.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_25]: Okay.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_25]: If you see something, say something, that's the buzzword that goes with that.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_25]: Two, report suspicious activity of something doesn't look right, let the police know.

- 39:22[SPEAKER_25]: Use available community resources if you are someone you know is struggling with substance abuse mental health housing or other challenges.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_25]: Seek help early and connect with resources available in our community.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_25]: Our officers, city employees, and law enforcement partners are working every day and every night to keep water towns safe.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_25]: We will continue to do everything within our authority and resources to address criminal activity, hold those who commit crimes accountable, and protect the quality of life in our neighborhoods, and we ask our residents to continue doing their part to.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_25]: Public safety is a shared responsibility, and our community is stronger and safer when we work together.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_19]: Well, all that's true.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_25]: It's quite a collection of platitudes, I might say, but
- 40:18[SPEAKER_25]: What do you think?
- 40:19[SPEAKER_25]: I read it through your verbatim.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_25]: I didn't taint it or twisted or whatever.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_25]: Massage it or anything else.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_25]: I'm not sure.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_25]: It's a statement needed, even.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know how many people talk about half of these crimes, because most of them are things you'll see on crime rate
- 40:43[SPEAKER_19]: Now that there was something on news drunk about a big fight downtown, that'll never make the mainstream media.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_25]: So are these things important or not?
- 40:52[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_25]: But you had a situation, Saturday night, we had a pedestrian accident on Arsenal, you had a big fight in the arcade, and then all of a sudden somebody knife somebody over on Academy.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_25]: Oh, that's...
- 41:08[SPEAKER_25]: You know, juggling a lot of balls at once.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_25]: There's all of those things require manpower, women power too.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_25]: And all of that.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_25]: So I don't know how many people who are, you know, things that are suspicious to her thing to report, because, you know, unless you really see something going on.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_25]: But I don't know.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_25]: now we'll lay uh... hold a press call i don't know if they're holding well hold a press conference on it i don't know uh... will see note no reaction here no you just want to hear more about the naked lady on factory street i don't know that much about i think there were two incidents from what i can see uh...
- 42:06[SPEAKER_25]: But when we used to have like a Dave Champagne, the late Dave Champagne is a crime reporter when back when there were beats, you know, there's a crime beat.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_25]: I can remember going into the PD at five in the morning before going to radio and looking through reports and things.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_25]: There's none of that.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_25]: They don't even.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_25]: There's nobody even talked to in the morning.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_25]: They got this one guy who does media relations and
- 42:32[SPEAKER_25]: When I think, personally in a size this town, I think the chief should do it, be doing media relations.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_25]: Now, sorry to say that, whether it's the last one or this one, but after doing your on the air.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_25]: Hello!

- 46:25[SPEAKER_25]: This is a, here is to be a woman sitting on a park bench in daylight.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_25]: So that must have been the incident that was reported at 7 a.m.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_25]: And she's got pants on, but she's got just pulled her shirt off or something.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know if I'd call her.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_25]: People call 911 or anything now.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_25]: And I'm not sure what on that.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_25]: That could be argued.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_25]: It's covered under the top 37 case, some Rochester.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know about the other incident about the naked woman who was poisoned.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_25]: That was earlier in the morning on factory streets.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_25]: So I don't know.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know what to say.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_25]: We got some texts in.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_25]: A lot of people like to comment by text.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_25]: I understand that.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_25]: You're bashful.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_25]: Somebody texted in.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_25]: Don't make channel 7.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_25]: They can't blame Trump.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_19]: Well, I could be.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_25]: Now the person said,
- 47:27[SPEAKER_25]: why isn't the shimo city manager's name on the statement doesn't even under city well he does but i don't know i don't know why the the mayor and the police chief put out a joint statement i've never seen that happen before uh... you know these events that happen a lot of now that homicide last week happened at one fifteen in the afternoon said that's very convenient for
- 47:56[SPEAKER_25]: Building business hours, but a lot of things don't happen.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_25]: Um, somebody texted she was yelling and screaming for an hour straight.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_25]: So she might even have an problem, but the problem is, like if somebody's, and I sympathize with the cops on this, if something someone's having an episode, whether it's drugs, mental illness or whatever, there isn't really anything you can do.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, you can't arrest them, then you can commit a crime.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_25]: you know, there's nowhere to take them really.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_25]: So I don't know, I don't know what you're doing those cases.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_25]: You know, remember I had that young lady dancing out on the sidewalk and, you know, once they stuck my head out and tried to say something to her, I could tell it was an obvious issue, but you know, that was just, I guess I should have just kept a lot of keep dancing, you know.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_25]: Um, but boy, they're worried about
- 48:53[SPEAKER_25]: what the color scheme is on Bob's chicken restaurant.

- 52:34[SPEAKER_25]: And we were both flashed by a Canadian woman, I think it was, he thought it was, but you know, it wasn't a big deal, I mean, it wasn't no 911 and so it's.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_25]: not something I would probably say anything more about, if you will.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_25]: Somebody checks in, there's at least two or three laws on the books to keep people orderly one being disorderly conduct or public nuisance and decent exposure on it.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, I know you can, but what's going to happen?
- 53:07[SPEAKER_25]: They're getting a parent stick and they won't show up.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_25]: Now, I haven't heard anything more about the knife hang on academy, it was like, it's ear was bleeding, so I don't know if he was cutting the head or what it was.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_25]: Then there was the one last week that he himself was knife, a few months ago and then he might have knife some, it's crazy, it's crazy boy, we got gun control, but everybody
- 53:48[SPEAKER_25]: Well, yeah, there was something right about in the Carthage where somebody got arrested for about trying to buy weed at a weed store, where the fake ID, why would you get arrested?
- 54:05[SPEAKER_25]: If you're the one making the buy, so what?
- 54:07[SPEAKER_25]: I mean, they should say no to you, if they're proofing you're not, they can't.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_19]: So what it works?
- 54:16[SPEAKER_25]: I don't think they'll be doing any sting operations on state, sanction, dispensary.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_25]: I love how they call them dispensaries.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_25]: We used to call them drug dealers back in the day, druggies.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, those are the customers.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_25]: All right.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_25]: Well, 755, 1240, the phone number.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_25]: If you'd like to give us a call, we've touched on a variety of issues here.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_25]: One of the things for our St. Lawrence County listeners, I read this morning.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_25]: A couple of places up in Canton.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_25]: It's spent $2.4 million on a brew pub called the Bentbury Beam, and I'm sure they're nice people.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_25]: I'm sure it's a beautiful facility, but a whole bunch of that was state money.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_25]: So what are we doing putting state money into opening powers?
- 55:01[SPEAKER_25]: And brew pubs and so on are not exactly your growth industry, I'll tell you.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_25]: We've gone through a couple of iterations of that here in Watertown.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_25]: And, you know, if you've got enough money to back it up, you can stay in business.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_25]: But I don't know, if you're up in Canton, why, and we may have a lot of listeners in Canton, I know that you're QTK, but you got the Tik Tok, you got the Hoodowl, I don't know what else, those are great places.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_25]: You want to be able to go to the Hoodowl, yeah.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_25]: But good luck to these people with the new place, but I don't know man, I don't
- 55:43[SPEAKER_25]: You know, like those bars in town.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_25]: I mean, there's people redoing a bar right now on in my neighbor.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_25]: I don't think they're getting $600,000 in state money to do it.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_25]: So I don't know.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_25]: I thought we'd get some response on Dave's hot chicken.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_25]: I'm not that that whether the chicken's good or not, but you really care with the front of it looks like if it's brightly colored or whatever.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_25]: I mean, there's a lot of places that are like this.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_25]: a few years ago, this had to be in the 80s.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_25]: There was the Fung-Hing restaurant, Chinese restaurant on state street.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_25]: They wanted to put up a sign, and that's back when they had a sign in commission.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_25]: It was crazy.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_25]: And this sign commission of, well, they were, they all fellers well, Matt, and pillars of the community and all of that.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_25]: They didn't like the fact that the Chinese people wanted to
- 56:42[SPEAKER_25]: but it was offensive visually.
- 56:44[UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_25]: Well, of course, those Chinese people who smart people, they knew that yellow and red is the combination of colors and attracts the human eye the best.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_25]: And by the way, a quarter by up the road is a much bigger sign that says Burger King, which is in yellow and red, and the poob eyes of signs didn't care about that.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_25]: And now, what do we, 40 years later, or something like that,
- 57:12[SPEAKER_25]: And we're still carrying on about government trying to play H.O.A.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_25]: And say, I don't like you a color scheme.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_25]: We don't like those colors on that sign.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_25]: It's on a commercial strip.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_25]: Stop, doesn't matter, doesn't matter.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_25]: We're living up here on the Kagwin Road by June we want it.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_25]: We don't want those colors in our town.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_25]: When you think about it, the whole thing is silly, isn't it?
- 57:37[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_25]: Open Jim Racken, get all that squared away up there.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_17]: He seems like a sensible man.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_25]: There's, I shouldn't say too much.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_25]: I've had people actually right into my blog saying I shouldn't be.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_25]: Shouldn't have a black awning out front.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_25]: We replaced it recently because the old one was canvas and it was coming apart.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_25]: It looked shoddy, so he had to do something that looks nice.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_25]: Oh, he shouldn't have that.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_25]: I got people right in there, my blog, they don't like the fact that Lady Nextore Cutter cut this huge, unsightly tree down, and left her four foot stump, next to her porch, in case another car comes through and wants to hit, they thought that was inappropriate, or of course the red spears out front, they don't like that either.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_25]: I don't really care what anybody likes.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah, and those people out at Bob's chicken place, I've looked online, I did my research,
- 58:39[SPEAKER_25]: There's nothing objectionable about any of that.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_25]: Got, can you imagine?
- 58:44[SPEAKER_25]: In the town of Watertown, if you wanted to hang up a giant Picasso or a Salvador Dolly?
- 58:48[SPEAKER_25]: Oh, I've got two businessmen.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_25]: We can't let it roll, aren't we?
- 58:51[SPEAKER_25]: I don't know.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_25]: Impressionist art?
- 58:54[SPEAKER_25]: No, no.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_25]: Yeah.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_25]: Now we've just got another text message.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_25]: St. Lawrence County Fair.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_25]: Over yesterday.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_25]: and the mayor of governor reports, no naked women or man observed hmm well I don't know it's interesting yeah also the mayor wants you to know that the new bill's stadium, the steel fabrication was 100% done in governor
- 59:37[SPEAKER_25]: Well, that's good, they did a nice job.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_25]: I'm sure.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_25]: Okay, well that is our show for today.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_25]: You'll end currently here with updates at 5 o'clock.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_25]: And I want to remind you, you're listening to the hotline.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_25]: I'm a community broadcaster, stations, WQTK, 92.7, Ogden'sburg, at AM-1240WATN, right here in Watertown.
