Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magnine.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's another episode of Scotty and Abby unfiltered. Abby, what
- 0:08Speaker 2: do you feel like? Is the closest way to describe
- 0:12Speaker 2: our relationship in its current.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Form, somewhere between a chemical reaction gone wrong, an inbred
- 0:22Speaker 1: child from rural Louisiana, and drunk Almo.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Because I try to describe this to people that I'm
- 0:32Speaker 2: now getting to catch up with and they're like, oh
- 0:34Speaker 2: my god, you have a new co host and what's that? Like?
- 0:37Speaker 2: How is she? How is Abby? And I'm the way
- 0:41Speaker 2: I describe it so far because off the mics, Abby
- 0:45Speaker 2: I feel like just likes to probe me. She likes
- 0:47Speaker 2: you just don't don't put that on me.
- 0:49Speaker 1: No, you do you like, I'm not probing anybody?
- 0:52Speaker 2: You jar. We've talked about far worse.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Nobody has been penetrated from.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, my god. Oh it's just so funny because it's
- 1:04Speaker 2: like this is like I feel like you were testing me,
- 1:08Speaker 2: You're poking, You're joking.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I do like I do like to bully men.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I will say it's very fascinating to watch, and it's
- 1:15Speaker 2: very fascinating to be in this position from going from
- 1:18Speaker 2: literally nobody in the studio to you know, having someone
- 1:22Speaker 2: that is constantly keeping me on my toes. So I
- 1:25Speaker 2: describe it to people as like a very sibling esc relationship. Yes,
- 1:30Speaker 2: where it's you literally can't say anything without somebody else
- 1:34Speaker 2: mocking what you're saying. I'm Scott and I'm dating four girls.
- 1:37Speaker 1: We do this Alma Well, I do this Almo voice
- 1:39Speaker 1: and this, and then Scott started copying it. So we'll
- 1:44Speaker 1: be in the middle of a break because we're I
- 1:46Speaker 1: don't know if you're listening to Magic ninety four nine.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I know a lot of your Birch show listeners up
- 1:49Speaker 1: in Atlanta, but if you tune in, we do a
- 1:51Speaker 1: lot of jockeying type radio hosting where it's like ten
- 1:54Speaker 1: seconds in between songs, and so we mess up a lot,
- 1:57Speaker 1: and I feel like anytime we mess up, I always go.
- 2:00Speaker 3: God, and I'm going to the Pouno Mars concert and
- 2:03Speaker 3: I'm bringing for mccufference, just like secret nerves and movement waves,
- 2:09Speaker 3: except instead of a bunch of different.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Waves, you're all my wives.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So it's really just sister weves. But as you're not
- 2:16Speaker 1: a sister, I'm Cody Brown from Doc God.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I wish I knew the show. I like how the
- 2:22Speaker 2: amount of girlfriends I have continues to grow every podcast.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Ill no, which I've demoted you from seven to four.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm going down. Yeah, that's not good because you're breaking
- 2:30Speaker 1: up with them left and right.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I'm oh, my god, Well you're.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Breaking the hearts of women everywhere in Tampa.
- 2:35Speaker 2: One of the things that's going down next week, and
- 2:37Speaker 2: that I'm very curious on how the rest of the
- 2:41Speaker 2: world sees this is I'm going on a zoomba cruise
- 2:44Speaker 2: and I was talking abby about it, and then you
- 2:46Speaker 2: started picking on me for being a grown man that
- 2:48Speaker 2: likes zoomba. First off, love it. Second off, I don't
- 2:52Speaker 2: really do zoomba, but I'm going on this trip with
- 2:54Speaker 2: my dad simply for a trip, but it's an entire
- 2:57Speaker 2: cruise dedicated to this that anytime I say it to someone,
- 3:00Speaker 2: they're just very amused and they're very interested. And what
- 3:03Speaker 2: the hell goes on? Scotty?
- 3:04Speaker 1: On Valentine's Day, you voluntarily went to a zooma class
- 3:07Speaker 1: with thirteen other women.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Okay, well there's a lot more than thirteen, But you can't.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Tell me that you don't do zoomba. I've seen the
- 3:14Speaker 1: photographic evidence.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Okay, there is evidence. I do it occasionally, Okay, zoomba occasionally.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I like to get down.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Okay, well occasionally I come to work occasionally, I work
- 3:23Speaker 1: out occasionally.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Day breathe there. Well, okay, this started like two years
- 3:28Speaker 2: ago where my dad's work partner, like is all up
- 3:31Speaker 2: in the zoomba world, does it every day, loves it,
- 3:34Speaker 2: learned about a zoomba cruse told my dad. My dad
- 3:38Speaker 2: told me. It became our vacation and we went to
- 3:41Speaker 2: freaking France for it. We went to France for the
- 3:44Speaker 2: Zooma Cruz. I had no idea what I was walking into.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I think up until that point, I only did zooma
- 3:48Speaker 2: once and that was at a crunch class like I
- 3:51Speaker 2: did on Valentine's Day. Well, we get there and immediately
- 3:55Speaker 2: you walk out on the ship, there's three hundred people
- 3:58Speaker 2: doing zoomba. It's insane. It's the gates of Hell. It
- 4:02Speaker 2: was wild. What made it so hard is that everyone
- 4:06Speaker 2: is like in sync, knows exactly what to do. I
- 4:09Speaker 2: don't know shit, I'm just walking out and it seems
- 4:11Speaker 2: like we should just dance. The harder part was that
- 4:13Speaker 2: they're all speaking in French and so automatically. I don't
- 4:18Speaker 2: know the moves, I don't know the songs. Everyone else does,
- 4:20Speaker 2: and everyone else speaks French, so I'm already lost. But
- 4:24Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, after three hours of it, you
- 4:26Speaker 2: get really damn good. So I became kind of a
- 4:28Speaker 2: Zoomba pro on that trip. So now we're bringing it
- 4:31Speaker 2: back this time. I know I'm about to sound like
- 4:35Speaker 2: the biggest Zoomba diva, but this time it's like the
- 4:37Speaker 2: biggest one. It's leaving out of Miami with the founder
- 4:39Speaker 2: of freaking Zoomba.
- 4:40Speaker 1: How many people are going Probably thousands, It's like twenty
- 4:44Speaker 1: five hundred.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Let's say twenty five hundred people doing Zoomba because this
- 4:47Speaker 2: cruise is literally dedicated to Zoomba. The founder of Zooma
- 4:51Speaker 2: is going to be on the ship.
- 4:51Speaker 1: The Zoomba King is gonna be on the Zooma Cruise.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Yes, and we're all gonna be wearing Zoomba gear and
- 4:56Speaker 2: doing the zoomba. What is zoomba gear?
- 4:58Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 4:59Speaker 2: There's a whole line of that's dedicated to Zoomba.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Is it like aar But I'm not going to go
- 5:04Speaker 1: to Zoomba.
- 5:06Speaker 2: The Zooma cruz Scottie, I'm going on the zoom A Cruise.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I didn't want to go for the Zoomba. I wanted
- 5:11Speaker 2: to go because my Dad's like, do you want to
- 5:12Speaker 2: take a cruise? And I said absolutely. He said it's
- 5:14Speaker 2: a zoom A cruise. I say, well, whatever, it doesn't
- 5:16Speaker 2: matter else thell go. I'm going to go and come
- 5:19Speaker 2: back and be the most toned. My butt is going
- 5:20Speaker 2: to be so tight, my legs are gonna look shaped
- 5:22Speaker 2: and curved, all because of the Zooma Cruise. So as
- 5:25Speaker 2: the rest of the world lasts, I'm going to zoom
- 5:27Speaker 2: of my ass off and get shredded.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Well because of it. I hope you come back looking fit.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I hope you received several ozempic allegations.
- 5:34Speaker 2: No, I'm going to look so good. And I think, honestly,
- 5:36Speaker 2: you might just be a little jealous. I think, have
- 5:38Speaker 2: you ever done zoomba?
- 5:39Speaker 1: I used to, but you know, when I was in
- 5:41Speaker 1: high school and I had to go to the suburban
- 5:43Speaker 1: rec center.
- 5:44Speaker 2: You know what's go great about zoom but it doesn't.
- 5:46Speaker 2: It doesn't discriminate all ages, clearly, all sexes, all sizes. Always,
- 5:52Speaker 2: if you can move and groove, you can come zoomba. Yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 2: so now it has a whole debacle of what's going
- 5:57Speaker 2: to happen behind the studio. And actually, I do want
- 5:59Speaker 2: to pull the curtain back on this because I find
- 6:00Speaker 2: this fascinating because Abby, you're still going to be in
- 6:02Speaker 2: the studio. Yes, has anybody taught you or told you
- 6:05Speaker 2: what you're going to be doing in here while you're here?
- 6:06Speaker 2: That's literally your job? Okay, that is so much pressure
- 6:10Speaker 2: to be able to tell you everything that you're going
- 6:11Speaker 2: to have to do in the next three days.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Well, I know how to voice track. The only thing
- 6:15Speaker 1: I don't know how to do is do you.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Not had a voice track in here? I know had
- 6:17Speaker 2: a voicetrack in here? No, have you done it? No
- 6:20Speaker 2: one's ever shown me. That's what I'm saying.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I've been here for two fucking days, Scott.
- 6:24Speaker 2: It's been like two months, but.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I, oh, it hasn't even been a month. I think
- 6:29Speaker 1: I think this is week four. Oh jesus, Yeah, why
- 6:33Speaker 1: are we going to do that? So you're just going
- 6:34Speaker 1: to be in charge of everything? Because I thought, okay,
- 6:36Speaker 1: that's kind of how it works.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Okay, Well, that's a lot of pressure. Good luck.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Why the heck did you have to take off work.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I think I should get this week off too.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I think that's I thought you were going to have
- 6:44Speaker 2: the week off. No, okay, well I literally thought that
- 6:47Speaker 2: was the entire point. I thought it was going to
- 6:49Speaker 2: be a fun trip. Have you ever gone on a
- 6:51Speaker 2: trip like that with your family, like just a one
- 6:52Speaker 2: off shoot, like weird, kind of quirky, but like you
- 6:56Speaker 2: actually enjoyed it. Let me think about that, because I'm
- 7:00Speaker 2: only doing this because I want to go on a
- 7:01Speaker 2: trip with my dad.
- 7:02Speaker 1: We didn't go on anything quirky. I mean, we went
- 7:04Speaker 1: on a cruise once a couple of zero ago. We
- 7:07Speaker 1: didn't zoomba m I don't know if I would call
- 7:09Speaker 1: it quirky.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Where'd you go on the cruise? You know, the.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Typical places, the Caribbean and Mexico. I'm sure the Bahamas.
- 7:16Speaker 1: It was one of those where you like leave for
- 7:17Speaker 1: four days, you come back.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Was that a common like vacation? We did that
- 7:21Speaker 2: like every year growing up? No, we did a couple
- 7:23Speaker 2: growing up.
- 7:24Speaker 1: We went on a cruise in high school, I mean
- 7:26Speaker 1: maybe four or five, but not like a frequent thing
- 7:29Speaker 1: to where it was like, yeah, we're cruise people. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: will say, you know, it's really funny. My most vivid
- 7:33Speaker 1: memory of that cruise or no, this was when I
- 7:35Speaker 1: graduated college. When I graduated college, we went on a
- 7:38Speaker 1: weekend cruise and this is so weird. I don't know
- 7:41Speaker 1: if you have weird I guess this is the quirkiest
- 7:44Speaker 1: thing about this cruise. Do you have weird things that
- 7:46Speaker 1: you do in your family that to anybody else would
- 7:49Speaker 1: be like, I need to report you guys, something is
- 7:52Speaker 1: a miss something is weird.
- 7:54Speaker 2: My family is the literal weirdest. Okay, well, I'm going
- 7:57Speaker 2: to tell you something weird about my family.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And my family a form of bonding is rubbing each
- 8:02Speaker 1: other's feet.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Holy shit? What what? Okay?
- 8:08Speaker 1: And I don't know why, but I'm sitting at the
- 8:11Speaker 1: pool on my d and my dad just subconsciously just
- 8:13Speaker 1: starts rubbing my feet, which I know to the outside
- 8:17Speaker 1: world is really fucking weird. And we got yelled at
- 8:20Speaker 1: by a woman in the pool.
- 8:21Speaker 2: What she because I was sitting on the what's the thing?
- 8:25Speaker 1: It's like one of the one of the ladders to
- 8:27Speaker 1: get out, but there's like several ladders, So I'm sitting
- 8:29Speaker 1: on one of the ladders and my Dad's just sitting there,
- 8:32Speaker 1: like just.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Giving me a foot massage. Just it does sound so
- 8:35Speaker 2: weird when I vocalize it, They're like, you know what,
- 8:37Speaker 2: I think a lot of families do that. Like I
- 8:38Speaker 2: remember growing up and my like Grandma would like like
- 8:41Speaker 2: rub my cousin's hair or something like that, or like
- 8:43Speaker 2: we'd lay down the grubber back something like that. Yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 2: never was like really a rubbing the feet kind of thing.
- 8:49Speaker 2: It's a form of affection for our family. It's just
- 8:51Speaker 2: the thing.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I get it, you know, vocalizing it, I'm like, yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 1: that really.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Is fucking weird. Everyone has their family stuff.
- 8:56Speaker 1: But someone yelled at yelled at my dad for doing that, probably.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Because they didn't know it was you're They just thought
- 9:02Speaker 2: it's this random man coming up and rubbing some young
- 9:05Speaker 2: girl's feet.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I know. That's the worst part about getting into your
- 9:08Speaker 1: twenties is I feel as though I can't go out
- 9:11Speaker 1: in public with my dad or my brother without going.
- 9:14Speaker 2: This is my dad, by the way.
- 9:16Speaker 1: This is my dad, not my lover, by the way,
- 9:19Speaker 1: not a sugar daddy.
- 9:20Speaker 2: My father literally just my dad. By the way. This
- 9:22Speaker 2: is my brother. Because me and my brother don't look
- 9:24Speaker 2: like I've never seen your brother. I'll show you a
- 9:26Speaker 2: photo right now. I've never seen what your brother looks
- 9:28Speaker 2: like in person. I don't think i've ever even seen
- 9:30Speaker 2: him on your Instagram. Why don't you show your brother?
- 9:32Speaker 1: My brother is sort of racially ambiguous, like he looks
- 9:35Speaker 1: maybe Italian. He looks like he could maybe have some
- 9:38Speaker 1: Hispanic in him. Like that's my mom and my brother's
- 9:41Speaker 1: coloring is they have olive scan and brown hair.
- 9:43Speaker 2: So you got everything from your dad? Yeah?
- 9:44Speaker 1: So my dad and I are super pale. So we're
- 9:46Speaker 1: like the UK Scandinavian mofos.
- 9:49Speaker 2: What us split down the middle? Very weird. So do
- 9:51Speaker 2: you wish you had more like the other characteristics? I
- 9:55Speaker 2: do you know how expensive spray tanning is? Well, yeah,
- 9:57Speaker 2: you don't actually tan, you can't actually no, I burn. Also,
- 10:01Speaker 2: I'm afraid of the sun because I know I'm not
- 10:02Speaker 2: gonna age well because again UK jeans. So wow, you
- 10:06Speaker 2: gotta stay my spf. Let me see a picture of
- 10:08Speaker 2: your brother. Give me a second. I got distracted. Okay,
- 10:10Speaker 2: Oh did you open up the gram? That gets me
- 10:13Speaker 2: every time I'm opening up now, Okay, so let me
- 10:15Speaker 2: find Okay, So here's my brother Okay, let's see. Oh
- 10:20Speaker 2: my gosh, your brother's a good looking dude. Holy smokes,
- 10:24Speaker 2: he has great hair. Look at that. It's the first
- 10:27Speaker 2: thing I noticed. Now and men, not you hitting on
- 10:30Speaker 2: my brother. Okay, well let's take a look though. He's
- 10:32Speaker 2: got a good head of hair. He looks pretty tall.
- 10:34Speaker 2: How tall is your brother five nine? Maybe it's a
- 10:36Speaker 2: pretty tall man. If you ask me, i'd say so.
- 10:38Speaker 2: His fiance is just short, okay. And it's also the angle.
- 10:41Speaker 2: It's kind of down looking up.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they're a very proportional couple.
- 10:45Speaker 2: M like, they're good. They're a good heighte match. Okay, yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 2: that actually works perfectly. What's your brother's personality? How does
- 10:50Speaker 2: it differ from your personality? Because you're pretty fierce. When
- 10:54Speaker 2: I describe you abby, I say that you're fierce. That's
- 10:56Speaker 2: like the first word I say, fierce.
- 10:58Speaker 1: My brother is a lot more standoffish than I am.
- 11:03Speaker 1: But when he's in a good mood, he's really fun.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Oh gotcha? Yeah, okay, so he's not as would you say,
- 11:09Speaker 2: you're more of the outgoing one. He's more so. I
- 11:13Speaker 2: think we're opposites.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I think I'm an introverted I think i'm outgoing but introverted.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So I like to be out and about, but I'm
- 11:20Speaker 1: definitely more of an introvert, whereas my brother, I think,
- 11:23Speaker 1: is an extrovert who doesn't like to go do things.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Oh okay, that's interesting. I think that's how I am.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I'm an extrovert that doesn't like to go do things.
- 11:32Speaker 2: You do all the things, though, I do it because
- 11:34Speaker 2: I have to force myself because I know there's a
- 11:35Speaker 2: better thing happening if I do it. If I don't
- 11:37Speaker 2: do anything, well then nothing happens. Yes, So that's why
- 11:40Speaker 2: I was actually kind of nice being in a relationship
- 11:41Speaker 2: because it's like, well, I can just chill at home.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I don't have to go out to the bars.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's why my brother got super boring when he got
- 11:46Speaker 1: into a relationship.
- 11:48Speaker 2: This has nothing to do with this. It's not me
- 11:49Speaker 2: hating on the relationship.
- 11:50Speaker 1: But like once my brother got a fiance or a girlfriend,
- 11:52Speaker 1: he's like, well, I'll just stay here.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I was just talking to a friend about that, and
- 11:55Speaker 2: I was like, I'm enjoying this time period. I will
- 11:58Speaker 2: continue to enjoy this time. But man, there's something something
- 12:02Speaker 2: about thinking. I don't know if you have this feeling,
- 12:04Speaker 2: but when you're in that relationship that's like your partner
- 12:07Speaker 2: for life. A Friday night inside with like your dog
- 12:11Speaker 2: or your kids and just relax on the couch watching
- 12:14Speaker 2: a movie, maybe having a beverage. The image of that
- 12:18Speaker 2: sounds so bliss, like I can't wait, I can't wait.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I hope you get that, Scotty, I can't Well, Okay,
- 12:25Speaker 2: you don't have that same feeling to you. Cool.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I want to be out of Bulan watching sugar with
- 12:30Speaker 1: your husband. Yeah, and I want us to. I want
- 12:32Speaker 1: us to be that couple that talks shit about other
- 12:34Speaker 1: people in the corner.
- 12:35Speaker 2: You're gonna be like seventy years old, sitting in the
- 12:36Speaker 2: corner of Bulan, still talking shit.
- 12:39Speaker 1: There's gonna be nobody there because this place has been
- 12:41Speaker 1: open for fifty years. I want us to be at
- 12:45Speaker 1: the bar, trolling people, pretending we're we're different people than
- 12:49Speaker 1: we really are.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I want to step fake names. Wow.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I want us to be like that couple. To me,
- 12:54Speaker 1: that's fun. I don't want to sit at my house.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I know, but I just picture like we get like
- 12:57Speaker 2: a pizza oven in the backyard and we have like
- 12:59Speaker 2: a family where it's like we have a beautiful big kitchen,
- 13:01Speaker 2: we make the dough, we go and have a pizza.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Like I want friends at my house versus going meeting
- 13:06Speaker 2: friends out. I want to have like a big ass pool,
- 13:08Speaker 2: a grill. It's like dream life shit. But that sounds
- 13:12Speaker 2: so cozy to me. It sounds so intimate, Like I
- 13:14Speaker 2: love hanging with friends like that will never stop. But
- 13:17Speaker 2: if we're going to hang out, like come over to
- 13:19Speaker 2: the house, like in a perfect world, we all live
- 13:21Speaker 2: in a culva sac. That sounds dope. It does sound dope.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Do you ever have like we had friends like that.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I still have friends that I grew up with that's
- 13:28Speaker 2: still kind of the plant where it's like we all
- 13:30Speaker 2: eventually live in the same area and then we raise
- 13:32Speaker 2: our families together. That's really sweet. You don't have that, No, Okay, Well,
- 13:37Speaker 2: you know what it's like when everybody moves away. It's
- 13:39Speaker 2: such a pain in the butt for everyone to get together. Well,
- 13:41Speaker 2: it's sad, but I think it's one of those unavoidable things.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I think it's avoidable.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And no, I think when things are unavoidable, I have
- 13:49Speaker 1: no choice but to just accept them, and so I
- 13:50Speaker 1: don't have emotions to tie to them, tie them. I
- 13:53Speaker 1: think that's why when it comes to death, I've never been.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Like my eyes just popped out of my head. I
- 13:57Speaker 2: was like, where are you going with this? Well?
- 13:59Speaker 1: I always something I'm very introspective about is I haven't
- 14:03Speaker 1: really lost a lot of people close to me. But
- 14:06Speaker 1: when people die or animals die, I'm sad about it
- 14:09Speaker 1: and then I move Not not that I move on,
- 14:11Speaker 1: but I don't like linger on it because I'm like,
- 14:12Speaker 1: what am I going to do?
- 14:13Speaker 2: Can't bring them back? No, No, I guess it just
- 14:16Speaker 2: depends on the finality of it. Yeah, that's the part
- 14:19Speaker 2: that kind of f's me up, Like I can accept death,
- 14:22Speaker 2: but it's the part of like, damn it, there's so
- 14:24Speaker 2: many things that I still would want to do or
- 14:25Speaker 2: have the conversation for that. When I think about not
- 14:28Speaker 2: being able to do that, that's the crushing part. Yeah, well,
- 14:31Speaker 2: I'm like, damn it.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I'm sure I'll feel that way if I when I
- 14:33Speaker 1: lose someone super super close to me. And the only
- 14:36Speaker 1: time I really got hung up on sorry I really
- 14:38Speaker 1: took this in a pivot is when we lost our
- 14:41Speaker 1: dog tragically over the summer because he wasn't supposed to die.
- 14:44Speaker 1: That to me, I had a hard time with because
- 14:45Speaker 1: I'm like, well, he wasn't supposed to die, yeah, Whereas
- 14:49Speaker 1: you know, when I lose pets, it's like really devastating,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and then it's like, well you know they were going.
- 14:53Speaker 2: To die, you know. Yeah. I mean it's still hard.
- 14:56Speaker 2: You still miss them, but it's easier to come to with,
- 15:00Speaker 2: especially if they're old. I know, you're like that that's
- 15:02Speaker 2: the unavoidable port, like you know what's coming. I know,
- 15:05Speaker 2: So to be hung up on that is really hard
- 15:07Speaker 2: because it just takes kind of a lot of energy
- 15:08Speaker 2: when you realize time's a ticket.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I'm sure I'll feel differently in ten years because that's
- 15:13Speaker 1: how it's when my cats will probably go.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Oh my god. You know, I think about this a
- 15:17Speaker 2: lot about when your cats are gonna die. I have
- 15:19Speaker 2: like pre planned grief. That's very fascinating. I know that sad.
- 15:23Speaker 2: What do you do about it? Though? Because for me,
- 15:25Speaker 2: I'm always again solution oriented. I'm like pre planned, Oh
- 15:28Speaker 2: my god, this is you know what this is going
- 15:30Speaker 2: to be the dark podcast. I was thinking about this yesterday.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Oh this is so dark. So I've lost my mom
- 15:37Speaker 2: so I have a super close relationship, much closer than
- 15:39Speaker 2: it's ever been with my dad, And so I was
- 15:41Speaker 2: thinking about, like we're going on the zoom A cruise
- 15:43Speaker 2: and I talk to them like every week and we
- 15:45Speaker 2: have great phone calls. And yesterday I was walking and
- 15:47Speaker 2: I got so sad thinking. I was like, man, I
- 15:50Speaker 2: almost wanted to tell them like how I don't know.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I was thinking that is going to be unbearable because
- 15:59Speaker 2: I love the real relationship that we have now. I
- 16:02Speaker 2: cherish that relationship. I cherish our phone calls, I cherish
- 16:04Speaker 2: our vacations together. I cherish the relationship that I have
- 16:07Speaker 2: with my brother and my dad, like our bond has
- 16:09Speaker 2: gotten so strong. And so yesterday I started thinking about
- 16:11Speaker 2: death and I was like, ah, what the hell. I
- 16:15Speaker 2: gotta make sure to utilize the hell out of this
- 16:17Speaker 2: time period. But even then, I don't feel like it's enough. Damn.
- 16:21Speaker 2: So how do you come to grips with like thinking
- 16:22Speaker 2: of your cats dying, Like does it make you want
- 16:24Speaker 2: to cuddle them more? Or do you just get sad?
- 16:26Speaker 1: I will run over there and I will just give
- 16:27Speaker 1: them a spontaneous big hug and I'll just.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Go I'm gonna miss you in twenty fifty five or
- 16:33Speaker 2: whatever it is.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I did see that there's a new vaccine that you
- 16:36Speaker 1: can give your cats to make them live until like
- 16:37Speaker 1: thirty and I'm gonna find a way to procure that.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Does that not seem too long? Thirty years for a cat?
- 16:44Speaker 1: Well, I mean for me. I mean I'm twenty nine,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and I'm like, you take me.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Out before the animal.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm kidding me all honestly, I don't think I'm going
- 16:51Speaker 1: to survive the death of Della, my oldest cat.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, how is your cat? Della's gonna be
- 16:58Speaker 2: seven this year? Oh you know, cat's usually lived to
- 17:01Speaker 2: what twenty?
- 17:02Speaker 1: God willing fingers crossed. Damn please, She's a pretty healthy cat.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but you don't want I'm walking around like, oh,
- 17:08Speaker 2: beat up and oh mangled? Oh yeah, looking horrible, Yeah, crusty.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I have a dog, Lacy back home that saves with
- 17:14Speaker 2: my dad. And when I went to college, she was
- 17:17Speaker 2: a yellow lab. I raised her for a couple of
- 17:18Speaker 2: years and I left for college and she stayed with
- 17:20Speaker 2: my dad. She's still kicking strong. I mean, she's like
- 17:23Speaker 2: thirteen fourteen. But that's one that I think about. Like,
- 17:27Speaker 2: I was even talk to my dad the other day.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I was like, how's Lacey. Just give me a quick update,
- 17:31Speaker 2: because no updates a good update. Yeah, but it does
- 17:33Speaker 2: get into me where I'm like, god, damn it, Like
- 17:35Speaker 2: you know that time's coming. You're like dogs usually go thirteen, fourteen, Yeah,
- 17:41Speaker 2: fifteen is like super old. Yeah, but I'm like, she's
- 17:43Speaker 2: still spunky as hell. She still gets walking around the neighborhood.
- 17:47Speaker 2: It gives me anxiety too.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It's like knowing they're age just creeping up and going,
- 17:49Speaker 1: oh oh well.
- 17:51Speaker 2: It's one of those like it's like getting used to
- 17:53Speaker 2: the grief, but I can't really do anything about it
- 17:54Speaker 2: because I don't live there, so it's like I can't
- 17:56Speaker 2: give her a big old squeeze. But every time I
- 17:59Speaker 2: go home, I'm like, oh my god, so grateful for
- 18:01Speaker 2: this moment, but the thought of it is so crushing. Damn,
- 18:04Speaker 2: this conversation is so depressive. I really took us in
- 18:07Speaker 2: a bad direction. I want to go back to your
- 18:08Speaker 2: family's vacation.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Though, because let's go back to people thinking your dad
- 18:12Speaker 1: was molesting you on that. Sorry, I shouldn't have brought
- 18:16Speaker 1: up death.
- 18:17Speaker 2: No, no, death. I don't mind, just trying.
- 18:19Speaker 1: To make a parallel because I'm like I don't know,
- 18:22Speaker 1: it didn't work out well, I.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Could talk about death. I like talking about death because
- 18:26Speaker 2: it gets me to appreciate life. Yeah, Like that's literally
- 18:29Speaker 2: why again, back to it for just a second. That's
- 18:31Speaker 2: why I'm so adamant about taking trips with people that
- 18:35Speaker 2: I love having phone calls, Like, that's why I call
- 18:38Speaker 2: my dad every week to just talk and we'll just
- 18:40Speaker 2: talk for hours. I'm like, we never did that before.
- 18:43Speaker 2: But then when death became very real, when it was
- 18:45Speaker 2: right in front of us, when we experience it every
- 18:48Speaker 2: month for a little bit, I was like, Okay, I'm
- 18:51Speaker 2: not gonna let time go without us having a good relationship.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And I'm so grateful for it. I absolutely love it,
- 18:57Speaker 2: and so I try to I try to get my
- 18:58Speaker 2: brother on the same page now or I'm like, Mike,
- 19:00Speaker 2: we should probably all be taking trips together. I don't
- 19:03Speaker 2: know if his brain necessarily goes there, he's not necessarily
- 19:05Speaker 2: thinking like that, yeah, but mine is constantly I'm like, okay,
- 19:09Speaker 2: if today is twenty twenty six, all right, and I
- 19:12Speaker 2: start literally calculating how many years, and then I break
- 19:15Speaker 2: that down to realistically how many trips and then how
- 19:18Speaker 2: many months. It's sickening. It's so sad. It is what
- 19:22Speaker 2: At the same time, if you don't do that, I
- 19:24Speaker 2: don't want to get to the end of this rope
- 19:25Speaker 2: and be like, well, shoot, I didn't utilize all the
- 19:27Speaker 2: time I had. Yes, it's a great motivator. That's exactly
- 19:29Speaker 2: what it is for me. I don't get sad about it.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I get motivated to do something about it.
- 19:33Speaker 1: So anyway, Scott's going on the zoom A Cruise because
- 19:35Speaker 1: he's afraid of death.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I am afraid of death, and I want to utilize
- 19:37Speaker 2: all these moments, all these memories.
- 19:39Speaker 1: He doesn't want to be on his deathbed and go
- 19:40Speaker 1: what if I went to the zoom Ba Cruise in
- 19:41Speaker 1: Miami with the King of Zoombo.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Well, it's like what if I don't go on this
- 19:44Speaker 2: ship whatever, It's gonna be fun. I'm a zoom of
- 19:47Speaker 2: my ass off. And I guess people last time I
- 19:49Speaker 2: went did not get enough of the backstory of it,
- 19:52Speaker 2: of why I went, the pictures, what it looks like.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I'll make sure to share more of those on my
- 19:55Speaker 2: Instagram because it is freaking fascinating. And this one's gonna
- 19:58Speaker 2: be so big that last time he it was all
- 20:00Speaker 2: one big group. It was like three hundred people. This
- 20:02Speaker 2: time it's thousands. So you have to literally sign up
- 20:05Speaker 2: to be in one of the three hundred people group.
- 20:06Speaker 2: What do you if there's thousands of people, how do
- 20:08Speaker 2: you all do zoomba? Then you're just literally two feet
- 20:11Speaker 2: apart all over the ship, like you're like the deck
- 20:14Speaker 2: of a ship just completely covering people. Wow. Just it's
- 20:17Speaker 2: like when you send off everyone and everyone has a
- 20:19Speaker 2: glasses champagne. It's that, but with zoomba. So hundreds of
- 20:22Speaker 2: people cha cha chai in Well. I hope you.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I hope you do lots of videos, take lots of videos, Scotty,
- 20:29Speaker 1: it's gonna be good. I hope you meet lots of
- 20:30Speaker 1: old women who, you know, maybe get a little rendezvous with.
- 20:35Speaker 2: A sugar mama. Maybe you wouldn't.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Steve can get together with with a woman in between
- 20:39Speaker 1: your ages.
- 20:40Speaker 2: We're what twenty nine Steve is? What fifty nine.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Steve is sixty three? Sixty three? So you need to
- 20:47Speaker 1: find a woman in her forties who's got a little hutzba.
- 20:49Speaker 2: What are we both going a dater? Yeah? That is
- 20:52Speaker 2: so weird. Win on the Zooma cruise. Nope, do the Zumba.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I don't want to date the same woman my dad's dating.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Come on, give give Cheryl a little lofe. Cheryl could
- 21:01Speaker 2: have a daughter. Cheryl could have a daughter. The last
- 21:03Speaker 2: time I went on a Zooma cruise, I was in
- 21:05Speaker 2: a relationship. But I'll tell you what, being a young
- 21:09Speaker 2: man doing zumba, everybody was trying to get me with
- 21:13Speaker 2: their daughter. I hate that, Like, why don't men do
- 21:15Speaker 2: the same thing.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Why don't they go, hey, I have a son's.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Creepy to approach a young woman and say that, tu see,
- 21:20Speaker 2: Like that's how it is like for me. I was
- 21:22Speaker 2: so flattered. I was like, oh my god, thank you.
- 21:23Speaker 2: But now I have to step away, like I am
- 21:26Speaker 2: literally taken. I don't want any part of this. Stop it,
- 21:28Speaker 2: and like they're trying to convince me, and then they
- 21:30Speaker 2: would get mad at me. I would get the eyes
- 21:32Speaker 2: at the end of the cruise of like, hmm, you
- 21:33Speaker 2: didn't want my daughter. I'm like, it's not that. Yes,
- 21:35Speaker 2: she was ugly, Cheryl, No, it's just I was there.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I'm mistaken. What do you want me to do? Well?
- 21:41Speaker 2: She needed to do a little bit more zomba. She'll
- 21:43Speaker 2: never hear this I think she lives in an entirely
- 21:45Speaker 2: different part of the world, so that's fine. But this
- 21:48Speaker 2: time I'm very curious because it's gonna be more, it's
- 21:50Speaker 2: gonna be out of Miami, it's gonna be spicy. Anything
- 21:53Speaker 2: could happen. Anything could happen. What's the trip that you
- 21:56Speaker 2: have planned with your family this year? Is there any
- 21:58Speaker 2: trips planned? I think me and my mom are going
- 22:00Speaker 2: to Charleston in April. Oh, that would be nice. I
- 22:02Speaker 2: know it will be nice. Okay, everyone raised about Charleston.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I've been there once. Okay, I did not necessarily see
- 22:08Speaker 2: the feel Wait, what did you do? I went to
- 22:10Speaker 2: a honestly, I went to a you know, the radio
- 22:13Speaker 2: star Bobby Bones. Yeah, I went to a Bobby Bones
- 22:15Speaker 2: comedy show in Charleston, South Carolina. Okay, when did you go?
- 22:19Speaker 2: I went like twenty eighteen, okay, and we went to
- 22:21Speaker 2: the theater, saw the show. The town felt very small.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Did you do anything else afterwards?
- 22:27Speaker 1: No?
- 22:27Speaker 2: I just don't think you knew where to go. I
- 22:29Speaker 2: don't think I did either, because it didn't look like
- 22:30Speaker 2: there's anything to do. There's so much to do in Charleston.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Charleston is maybe the only city that gives me a
- 22:36Speaker 1: similar vibe that and this is going to sound crazy
- 22:38Speaker 1: because they're completely two different cities. It reminds me a
- 22:41Speaker 1: lot of the energy of New York.
- 22:43Speaker 2: What Chary didn't get that vibe it I felt like
- 22:45Speaker 2: it was one road and that was it.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Now you got to go back to Charleston. Charleston is
- 22:50Speaker 1: very lively and it's very walkable.
- 22:52Speaker 2: It's like a it's it's.
- 22:54Speaker 1: A very very very very very very very very very
- 22:57Speaker 1: small and southern slash colorful Manhattan. The food scene is good.
- 23:02Speaker 1: There's lots of bars. It's a very young city, but
- 23:06Speaker 1: at the same time not young in the sense that
- 23:07Speaker 1: you can't go out when you're older.
- 23:09Speaker 2: That's fun. Okay, I do need to give it another
- 23:11Speaker 2: show because I had to Charlestown. There are places that
- 23:14Speaker 2: are like unhidden gems, gems that you find when you're
- 23:17Speaker 2: traveling that you don't expect to see. Like when I
- 23:19Speaker 2: went to Savannah, Georgia, I was blown away. Yeah, that
- 23:23Speaker 2: was a place that I left and I was like,
- 23:25Speaker 2: holy crap. No. I mean, I know people now kind
- 23:28Speaker 2: of rave about Savannah, but for me, I was like,
- 23:30Speaker 2: that's an underrated spot.
- 23:31Speaker 1: It's funny because I've been to Savannah multiple times, and
- 23:33Speaker 1: the way you just described, Charles, it's how I feel about.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Savannah, damn it. Oh my gosh. See, I thought it
- 23:38Speaker 2: was so fun I thought the food was great. I
- 23:40Speaker 2: thought the riverwalk was beautiful. But I love a small
- 23:42Speaker 2: town with a lot to do. I don't like a
- 23:45Speaker 2: big city that's stinky and dirty. And that's why I have.
- 23:47Speaker 2: You know, whenever I've gone to New York City and
- 23:50Speaker 2: people rave about it, I'm like, it's cool, there's a
- 23:52Speaker 2: lot to do, but I can't stand walking on the
- 23:55Speaker 2: sidewalk and there's just trash everywhere and it literally smells
- 23:57Speaker 2: like pee.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I kind of like it now, like in other people's business.
- 24:03Speaker 2: No, Like, that's what I like Chicago because it's like
- 24:06Speaker 2: New York, but without the stink of peace. See. I
- 24:08Speaker 2: hate it when people describe Chicago that way because Chicago
- 24:11Speaker 2: is so not New York. Okay, But first off, it's
- 24:13Speaker 2: a big ass city. It is a big gas buildings,
- 24:15Speaker 2: it's very clean, it's cold, just doesn't have the same
- 24:18Speaker 2: energy as New York. It does not, but it's also cleaner,
- 24:21Speaker 2: which I could. Actually, I would rather go to Chicago
- 24:23Speaker 2: than go to New York City. What is the aspect
- 24:26Speaker 2: of your opinion? Okay, it's not wrong, but what is
- 24:29Speaker 2: You've traveled a lot, so what are the cities that
- 24:30Speaker 2: you're like, okay, underrated in your opinion?
- 24:33Speaker 1: Well, I guess if you're I don't feel like Charleston
- 24:36Speaker 1: is underrated, but I guess Charleston Charleston is great.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I go to a lot of very normally rated places
- 24:45Speaker 1: and rate them. Uh, Like, what's my top five cities?
- 24:48Speaker 1: The places I like to go back?
- 24:50Speaker 2: I'm a I'm a city goal I definitely know that now.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I like a city.
- 24:53Speaker 1: So I like Charleston, I like New York, I like London.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Where else have I gone? There? Have you been to Miami?
- 25:01Speaker 2: I have been to Miami. What did you think? Miami
- 25:04Speaker 2: is a very split kind of down the line. I
- 25:05Speaker 2: talked to some people and they love it. Some people
- 25:07Speaker 2: are like, it's too much for me, too much. I
- 25:09Speaker 2: don't not like Miami.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I just it's not really my vibe. It's not like
- 25:13Speaker 1: a Oh, I don't think it's overrated or underrated. It's
- 25:16Speaker 1: just not on my scale. It's not doesn't have what
- 25:19Speaker 1: I'm after.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I'll say it it's overrated. It's a lot of clubs.
- 25:22Speaker 2: I'm not a club goal. Mmm, you don't like to
- 25:24Speaker 2: get your rave on? No?
- 25:25Speaker 1: Oh, you know what city I love? I really love Nashville.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Okay, I've never been to Nashville, so like it can't
- 25:30Speaker 2: make a comment. I've heard it's great, but it just
- 25:32Speaker 2: seems like.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Hmmm, Nashville's fun for a weekend and that's it.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Okay. Have you been to Vegas? No, I've never been
- 25:38Speaker 2: in Vegas. I've never been in Vegas either, but that's
- 25:40Speaker 2: one that I want to go this year. Friends are
- 25:42Speaker 2: planning in like a thirtieth and we want to go
- 25:44Speaker 2: to Vegas. But I'm not a gambler. But I'm trying
- 25:46Speaker 2: to explain to friends. I'm like, I don't plan on
- 25:47Speaker 2: doing gambling the whole time. I want to go to
- 25:49Speaker 2: shows and have good food and why you laugh, I
- 25:52Speaker 2: want to go see show. I'm Scott. I want to
- 25:54Speaker 2: go to Las Vegas.
- 25:54Speaker 1: It's the show okay, well, like Magic Mike.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Not Magic Mike. I think there's probably like Lady Gaga,
- 26:00Speaker 2: isn't she doing a residency there? Probably not anymore. I
- 26:03Speaker 2: want to see a residency. Okay, I want to see something.
- 26:05Speaker 2: I want to see the sphere. Okay, there's other things
- 26:08Speaker 2: to see, but what's it? Okay, So your top five
- 26:09Speaker 2: so you said, of course New York.
- 26:11Speaker 1: So top cities would be London and New York, Charleston, Nashville, and.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Not something in the west. Come on, throws somebody out
- 26:23Speaker 2: in the West. Maybe San Diego. I like see San Diego. Okay,
- 26:27Speaker 2: there's two sides to it. I love the weather. I
- 26:30Speaker 2: was underwhelmed by what there was to do.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not a ton to do, but if you
- 26:33Speaker 1: know where to go, it's like a cool city. I
- 26:35Speaker 1: think San Diego would be fun to live in. Yes,
- 26:37Speaker 1: I don't necessarily need to visit San Diego. I think
- 26:40Speaker 1: that's my thing. The cities that I love to visit
- 26:42Speaker 1: I think would be really fun to live in. Like,
- 26:45Speaker 1: I don't really enjoy visiting New York if I'm honest
- 26:48Speaker 1: with you, But I.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Loved living there. How long did you live there? I
- 26:52Speaker 2: was there for four months. Dang, that's a hustle. I know.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Were you able to like form a friendship with people
- 26:57Speaker 2: in four months? Yeah, that's really impressible. What was your
- 26:59Speaker 2: normal day look like them? It depends.
- 27:01Speaker 1: So I was working part time at iHeart, and then
- 27:04Speaker 1: the other days I would literally just stick around New
- 27:06Speaker 1: York like I was. Literally my job was literally go
- 27:10Speaker 1: to Elvis Durand for two days and then dick around
- 27:12Speaker 1: the city for five.
- 27:14Speaker 2: What kind of crap did you get into? Because I
- 27:16Speaker 2: feel like I at my money on like food, I
- 27:20Speaker 2: would want to go. I don't know what there is
- 27:21Speaker 2: to do to New York if you're not visiting, But
- 27:24Speaker 2: I think that's why I don't.
- 27:24Speaker 1: When people are always like, oh, I could never live there,
- 27:27Speaker 1: but I love visiting there, I'm like the complete opposite.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I'm like, I loved living there, but visiting sucks.
- 27:31Speaker 2: You like the noise in the hustle and bustles.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It's just a city that has the lifestyle that I like.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I enjoy leaving my apartment and getting to walk somewhere.
- 27:42Speaker 1: It makes socializing easier for me. It's so hard for
- 27:45Speaker 1: me to want to leave the house. But if I
- 27:47Speaker 1: can just leave my house and go down to a
- 27:48Speaker 1: cool bar, I love that. I love getting on the subway.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I loved going for a run in Central Park, and
- 27:53Speaker 1: you're just constantly surrounded by icons and the most successful
- 27:58Speaker 1: people in the world. To me, I'm like shock that
- 28:00Speaker 1: you don't like New York, because New York is everything
- 28:02Speaker 1: that you love is people who are motivated and doing
- 28:05Speaker 1: shit with their lives. Yeah, people crying in the streets
- 28:09Speaker 1: because it's so hard to live there.
- 28:10Speaker 2: I'd like people crying in the streets. I like somebody
- 28:12Speaker 2: that knows how to hustle. But I also like somebody
- 28:14Speaker 2: that's not a dick. And the vast majority of what
- 28:17Speaker 2: I've walked across in New York is somebody that's like,
- 28:19Speaker 2: I don't like it when you're so successful that you
- 28:21Speaker 2: can't give me the time of day. Yeah, So I
- 28:24Speaker 2: want to make sure that it's like, if I'm in
- 28:25Speaker 2: your circle, that we could still see each other as humans.
- 28:29Speaker 2: But there's a vibe that I've gotten that's like, I'm
- 28:32Speaker 2: too important for you, So I'm going to go ahead
- 28:35Speaker 2: and continue on my way.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Well, then you just have to become more important than them.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I already am because I'm Scott Tablets. I'm Scott Tash
- 28:42Speaker 2: damn it. Yeah, I would think if the people I think,
- 28:46Speaker 2: if I were to live anywhere else, I've just probably
- 28:48Speaker 2: lived downtown Saint Pete because I like the vibe there.
- 28:51Speaker 2: I like the everything you could do is right there.
- 28:53Speaker 2: I like being able to walk. I've walked more than
- 28:55Speaker 2: this year than I've ever had in my life. And
- 28:59Speaker 2: it doesn't have all the noise in the trash that
- 29:01Speaker 2: New York has. That's the part that I don't understand.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I have a lot of trash, including myself. M Yes,
- 29:06Speaker 2: New York I think is great. London. Have you been
- 29:08Speaker 2: to London. I've been to London. I liked London. I
- 29:10Speaker 2: liked London more than I like New York.
- 29:11Speaker 1: It is funny because I spent a ton of time
- 29:13Speaker 1: in London and then I went straight to New York
- 29:15Speaker 1: right after in December, and I remember leaving going, wow,
- 29:17Speaker 1: you really use a shit hole? Yes, London is so clean. Yes,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and London is a lot more liveable. It doesn't have
- 29:23Speaker 1: the same energy as New York does.
- 29:26Speaker 2: If they could learn how to clean New York, I
- 29:29Speaker 2: would be in Yeah. If it didn't smell, I would
- 29:31Speaker 2: be down.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I don't know why they can't figure out a way
- 29:33Speaker 1: to clean New York.
- 29:34Speaker 2: I have no idea taxing people like crazy.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Well.
- 29:37Speaker 2: You know what also bothers me about a big city
- 29:39Speaker 2: is that there's always scaffolding. Yeah, that's such a silly
- 29:43Speaker 2: thing to complain about, but it's always there. It's finish
- 29:46Speaker 2: the damn building. Told I'm with you. That's the part
- 29:49Speaker 2: that gets me.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Clean up because every other city in America, I feel like,
- 29:53Speaker 1: can clean up, Boston, DC, Chicago. Like, if Chicago can
- 29:58Speaker 1: clean up, why can't New York.
- 30:00Speaker 2: It's a great question. It just makes me wonder where
- 30:02Speaker 2: those tax dollars are going. That's a good question too.
- 30:04Speaker 2: If they could clean it, I would like it, But
- 30:07Speaker 2: maybe they.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Prefer it that way. Maybe real New Yorkers are like,
- 30:10Speaker 1: this is a part of the charm. It's disgusting. You
- 30:12Speaker 1: might get hepatitis. See, but it's the greatest city.
- 30:14Speaker 2: In the world. The rats are part of us. It's
- 30:15Speaker 2: who we are. Yeah, get in the subway. I know.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I would like to go back to London. Is there
- 30:19Speaker 2: a place overseas that okay? Because London? Have you been
- 30:21Speaker 2: to like anything in Spain? Yeah?
- 30:23Speaker 1: I studied it broad in Buffalona.
- 30:26Speaker 2: What how long did you study abroad? What did you study?
- 30:29Speaker 2: Not long? I think just wine. Honestly, you studied wine.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I gotta be plus.
- 30:35Speaker 1: In one of those classes there, I had a dick
- 30:37Speaker 1: professor and that parble.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Explained the professor. It was like it was like a
- 30:41Speaker 2: main mester.
- 30:41Speaker 1: You were literally there for like a month and then
- 30:43Speaker 1: you traveled on the weekends with the rest of the
- 30:45Speaker 1: journalism crew.
- 30:47Speaker 2: I wish I did that.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it was fun. Barcelona's not my favorite city.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I loved it the second time I went.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I think I would like it if I went back.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Now I don't. I don't think I liked it when
- 30:57Speaker 1: I went through the first two times.
- 30:58Speaker 2: What do you think it was the first time.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I wasn't big into nightlife, and I think I would
- 31:06Speaker 1: enjoy it more with like the Tapa culture and clubs
- 31:10Speaker 1: and I know where to go, you know, at eighteen
- 31:12Speaker 1: and nineteen, I think a big city like that is.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Just really overwhelming. That's a good way to put it.
- 31:16Speaker 1: And Barcelona is huge. Barcelona to me, and this will
- 31:19Speaker 1: make sense to nobody except for myself. Barcelona to me
- 31:23Speaker 1: has the same.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Vibe as Chicago. That's fascinating.
- 31:27Speaker 1: So it's very clean, yes, and it feels very residential.
- 31:31Speaker 1: And it's near a body of water.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yes it is. It's right by the coast.
- 31:36Speaker 1: There's not a lot going on, but it's a big city.
- 31:39Speaker 1: There's a lot of architecture near a body of water,
- 31:42Speaker 1: and it's kind of chill, like Barcelona is very chill.
- 31:45Speaker 2: That's what I liked about. Like we went to Spain
- 31:47Speaker 2: and the first time I was just blown away. I
- 31:48Speaker 2: always thought to myself, if I were to move out
- 31:50Speaker 2: of the US, I would go to Spain. Yeah, because
- 31:53Speaker 2: one I thought the culture was just beautiful and I
- 31:55Speaker 2: love the idea. My way of going out, My ideal
- 31:58Speaker 2: night is going out and having a glass of wine
- 32:02Speaker 2: and a light bite with just a group of friends.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Like I don't need to be in a club, I
- 32:06Speaker 2: don't need to be in a loud ass bar. But
- 32:09Speaker 2: how they had it. I remember the first night and
- 32:11Speaker 2: we went to Malaga first, and I was like it
- 32:13Speaker 2: was a city, but it was old and historic, and
- 32:16Speaker 2: they just had a ton of tables just out in
- 32:18Speaker 2: the street and you sit down for dinner and they
- 32:21Speaker 2: don't even see you for the first hour because you're
- 32:23Speaker 2: just sitting talking to friends. And then they finally come by.
- 32:25Speaker 2: They'll just give you the house wine. It tastes amazing,
- 32:27Speaker 2: and you literally sit there for four hours just chit chatting,
- 32:32Speaker 2: having a tapa, having a bite. Here's some calamari, and
- 32:35Speaker 2: you just have so much fun interacting with your circle.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I love that shit. I had a friend that asked
- 32:41Speaker 2: me recently. They're like, well, do you like game nights?
- 32:42Speaker 2: And I said no, because I'd rather sit there, have
- 32:45Speaker 2: my glass of wine and talk to you. Yes.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I feel the same way when people pull out of
- 32:49Speaker 1: deck of cards. I want to deck them in the face.
- 32:52Speaker 2: And they're like, and then.
- 32:53Speaker 1: You can reach immunity if you get the fourth card
- 32:55Speaker 1: to the left, and I'm like, this is I don't
- 32:57Speaker 1: want to do all this brain power.
- 32:58Speaker 2: No, it's the weekend. That's exactly how I feel. And
- 33:01Speaker 2: also I feel like you don't get us down into
- 33:03Speaker 2: the depths of conversation if there's a game being played.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I prefer I would rather somebody tell me the most
- 33:09Speaker 1: scalding piece of gossip they have, because that's a unifier
- 33:13Speaker 1: to me. I feel like I'm a big on that
- 33:15Speaker 1: word unifire because I hate things that just break up
- 33:19Speaker 1: a social interaction, Like when somebody brings on a bad
- 33:23Speaker 1: karaoke song that nobody wants to hear. That's not a
- 33:26Speaker 1: unifying moment to me. When somebody has a good story,
- 33:29Speaker 1: the way that brings a group together. Brava whereas I
- 33:34Speaker 1: feel like a game of Uno just kind of doesn't
- 33:36Speaker 1: do the same thing.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to be thinking about my next
- 33:38Speaker 2: move if I'm actually trying to catch up with you,
- 33:41Speaker 2: because I never get to do it.
- 33:42Speaker 1: But I also know that the friend groups that thrive
- 33:44Speaker 1: with that, some people love that, and I love that
- 33:46Speaker 1: for them, it's not my journey.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Well okay, and in that space, that's why I think
- 33:50Speaker 2: I like those commerce cities because it wasn't so much
- 33:52Speaker 2: of like. So, I don't know. I think I have
- 33:54Speaker 2: a hearing problem. Then I think I do, because I
- 33:57Speaker 2: don't know what that is, because I don't think it's
- 33:59Speaker 2: that my ears are weak. I think it is at
- 34:00Speaker 2: a distraction thing. If we're gonna allot us bar, I'm
- 34:02Speaker 2: gonna be like, huh, And it takes so hard to
- 34:07Speaker 2: focus on you that at that point I just literally
- 34:10Speaker 2: give up. I'm like, all right, screw this, I'm done.
- 34:12Speaker 2: I can't hear shit. I'm just gonna look at you
- 34:14Speaker 2: and just nod and I won't forget. I won't remember
- 34:17Speaker 2: anything that you say. That's what's so hard. That's why
- 34:20Speaker 2: I don't want to do it. That's why I'm going
- 34:22Speaker 2: to Spain. Yeah, that's why I think you would like
- 34:24Speaker 2: Charleston too.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Charleston is very much the bar hop type city, Like
- 34:27Speaker 1: you could go to a restaurant, sit at a bar,
- 34:29Speaker 1: get an app, get a drink, bop to the next one.
- 34:32Speaker 2: See that's what I'm looking forward to you on this cruise.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I was already kind of planting it out of my head.
- 34:35Speaker 2: I don't want to zoom the whole time. The last
- 34:37Speaker 2: time I zoom, but the whole time, Huh, don't want
- 34:39Speaker 2: to do that.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Define zoom being the whole time, like night till.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Like I think the first time, we didn't know. So
- 34:44Speaker 2: when we went over it, here's it kind of stacked
- 34:46Speaker 2: on of problems. We walked out not really knowing what
- 34:50Speaker 2: was going to happen. They started speaking to us in French.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Were the only Americans on the ship.
- 34:53Speaker 1: We have no idea, So it was a French Zooma crew.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the first one.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Why didn't you go on to the American one?
- 34:58Speaker 2: We wanted to travel and we wanted to go on
- 35:00Speaker 2: a Zooma cruise, and there happened to be one that
- 35:03Speaker 2: did both for us. So it was a super like
- 35:04Speaker 2: sweet trip because we went to France, we went to Spain,
- 35:07Speaker 2: we went to Italy and had so many good elements.
- 35:10Speaker 2: We didn't know that the Zooma instructors were just gonna
- 35:13Speaker 2: only speak French. Gotcha should have expected it. It was
- 35:19Speaker 2: you know, it was a little hard. But the one
- 35:22Speaker 2: thing that we didn't know is how long they would
- 35:24Speaker 2: zoom before. I thought it was gonna be like an hour.
- 35:26Speaker 2: No one will zooma class wrong. And also, if you've
- 35:29Speaker 2: ever been to Europe, they're not big on this whole
- 35:31Speaker 2: water thing. They don't drink water a lot. I don't
- 35:33Speaker 2: get that. I don't either. But we went out there
- 35:36Speaker 2: zooma to our ass off, couldn't find any water. And
- 35:39Speaker 2: then it was literally I think four hours the first
- 35:41Speaker 2: time we did it, so four hours of just dancing
- 35:44Speaker 2: your face off, trying to like find anything to drink
- 35:48Speaker 2: that's not alcohol so you could keep dancing. It was
- 35:52Speaker 2: honestly horrible. This one's gonna be different.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Why do I feel like the American cruise is going
- 35:56Speaker 1: to be more like and now we have snacks for you.
- 36:00Speaker 2: As that's right? Where's the French are? Like?
- 36:01Speaker 1: You just have a cigarette and a piece of chocolate
- 36:04Speaker 1: and get.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Beck into the dance dance boy dance. This one, I
- 36:08Speaker 2: think is going to be more of we do a
- 36:10Speaker 2: class for two hours. I might not do it for
- 36:12Speaker 2: two I think my dad and I might go hit
- 36:14Speaker 2: the gym. We'll dance for a second and go leave.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I want to treat this as an actual vacation. Yeah.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I want to actually walk back here and feel refreshed
- 36:24Speaker 2: and replenished in the fat, juicy ass and the fats toned,
- 36:29Speaker 2: toned ass from all the dancing. I want to work out.
- 36:31Speaker 2: This sounds so crazy, but if you want to know
- 36:33Speaker 2: the inside of my brain, I want to get the
- 36:35Speaker 2: healthiest I have ever been on the ship. I know
- 36:38Speaker 2: I'm going to have a glass of bubbles at night,
- 36:40Speaker 2: but like during the day, I want to get good sunlight.
- 36:43Speaker 2: I want to dance, I want to work out. I
- 36:45Speaker 2: want to eat healthy. I want to treat my body
- 36:48Speaker 2: right because how often you come back on vacation you
- 36:50Speaker 2: just feel like shit. Yeah, that happens like every time,
- 36:54Speaker 2: all the time. Well, that's the plan for this trip
- 36:58Speaker 2: is to do it for like an hour and then
- 37:01Speaker 2: go and like sit by the pool or sit in
- 37:03Speaker 2: a hot tub, or maybe I'll get the Spall membership. WHOA,
- 37:06Speaker 2: I know. I did that on the last one, and
- 37:07Speaker 2: it was the best decision I could have made. Yeah,
- 37:09Speaker 2: get a massage, Yeah, a massage, and then sit in
- 37:12Speaker 2: their sauna. If there's one thing I love more than anything,
- 37:14Speaker 2: it's sitting in the sauna. Sauna. Have you found one
- 37:16Speaker 2: here yet? No?
- 37:17Speaker 1: You know what, They had tons of sauna membership places
- 37:20Speaker 1: in Atlanta, but it was too really expensive.
- 37:22Speaker 2: That's all I was just talking to friends about. It's
- 37:24Speaker 2: the trend right now is saunas and cold plunges. Yeah,
- 37:26Speaker 2: I don't think it's gonna last.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I like the infrared saunas, but I don't need the
- 37:29Speaker 1: cold plunge.
- 37:30Speaker 2: And sometimes they bundle them. Yeah, I don't want to
- 37:32Speaker 2: do that. No, you got to just have a place
- 37:33Speaker 2: that does the sauna. But they're all gonna have the
- 37:36Speaker 2: cold punch now. But you need to find one because
- 37:38Speaker 2: they're like some are three hundred bucks. Yeah. I don't
- 37:42Speaker 2: know where they are in Tampa, but I do know
- 37:44Speaker 2: in St. Pete, I go to Iceberg Cold Plant and
- 37:46Speaker 2: I do love.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So there's a studio in Atlanta.
- 37:49Speaker 2: There's two of them. It's called Sweat House.
- 37:51Speaker 1: And then there's Inspire or Perspire and you literally just
- 37:55Speaker 1: sit in an infrared sauna. But they have TVs in
- 37:57Speaker 1: every single room. Oh so you can watch Love Is
- 38:00Speaker 1: Blind for like an hour while you're sitting in your sauna.
- 38:03Speaker 2: See that sounds amazing. An infrared one you can get
- 38:05Speaker 2: at your house, though, no, I know it's a greasing
- 38:06Speaker 2: I kind of want one. I was like, Mom, can
- 38:08Speaker 2: we get one? I know it sounds ridiculous, but they're
- 38:10Speaker 2: not that expensive. They are.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I mean, if you were gonna do it consistently every
- 38:14Speaker 1: single day, it does eventually pay for itself.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Yeah, if you're gonna pay a membership to do an
- 38:18Speaker 2: infrared sauna, you could buy one for your house for
- 38:19Speaker 2: like two grand.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, which really is not bad. I mean,
- 38:22Speaker 1: I'm not saying that's an insignificant amount of mine.
- 38:24Speaker 2: That's a big chunk. But if you're gonna do a
- 38:26Speaker 2: membership for a place, that would be you could spend
- 38:28Speaker 2: that money within a year, I know, and then well
- 38:31Speaker 2: the only perk is then you don't have to clean it.
- 38:32Speaker 2: But also you're the only one using it. But isn't
- 38:35Speaker 2: there I don't know. I see, I like sitting in
- 38:37Speaker 2: the sauna, and the best conversations I've had have been
- 38:39Speaker 2: in saunas, you and a couple people sweating your ass
- 38:42Speaker 2: off because I go to the hot ass one the
- 38:44Speaker 2: dry sauna, and you just get into these in depth
- 38:46Speaker 2: conversations of you know, why you just left your wife,
- 38:49Speaker 2: or why your job didn't work out, or why you
- 38:52Speaker 2: moved here. Those are the kind of conversations I like
- 38:54Speaker 2: in the sauna. That's crazy. I've learned a lot. I
- 38:56Speaker 2: used to go to the YMCA in downtown Saint Pete
- 38:58Speaker 2: and I sit there and I'll listen to the old
- 39:00Speaker 2: folks just talk and they would talk about their their history.
- 39:03Speaker 2: What do they talk about and talk about how they're
- 39:05Speaker 2: in the war. They talk about the benefits that they get.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Now that's what I want to hear about World War two.
- 39:09Speaker 2: I was fascinated.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Give me tips for the upcoming one, that's right. What
- 39:14Speaker 1: would you do differently?
- 39:16Speaker 2: How would you avoid getting drafted? Yeah, that would be
- 39:19Speaker 2: the move. Well, I found it fascinating. But also I
- 39:22Speaker 2: learned if you talk too much in the sauna, you
- 39:23Speaker 2: get very near passing out, which I did multiple times.
- 39:26Speaker 2: You have to see hydrated. So I'd like to do
- 39:28Speaker 2: it alone. But those ones are like ten grand, which
- 39:30Speaker 2: I'm that I won't spend No, not yet in fred
- 39:32Speaker 2: Ones that's a good possibility. Two thousand. I'll do it.
- 39:35Speaker 2: But what about the community. I don't know. I don't
- 39:38Speaker 2: want to see them. They're half naked, they're sweaty. That's
- 39:40Speaker 2: literally what we're doing tonight. I don't want them to see. No,
- 39:42Speaker 2: but that's different.
- 39:43Speaker 1: That's like, oh, let's go for a walk, let's like
- 39:45Speaker 1: go get a bed.
- 39:46Speaker 2: But how much better would it be to be sitting
- 39:47Speaker 2: across some tall, sweaty man. But it's never that man.
- 39:51Speaker 1: It's always some woman in her eighties who wants to
- 39:54Speaker 1: come in butt ass.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Naked, you know who. She has a great grandson and
- 40:00Speaker 2: he's great already. He's great already. Yeah, Well usually it is,
- 40:04Speaker 2: But it depends on where you go. There's a lot
- 40:05Speaker 2: of young places around here that have very young, attractive
- 40:09Speaker 2: people getting their song on. Just don't get the cold
- 40:11Speaker 2: plunge on. Well, you are a yawn and all day
- 40:13Speaker 2: to day, I'm tired. What are you so tired from?
- 40:16Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 40:17Speaker 2: I'm just a sleepy girl. What were you watching last night?
- 40:21Speaker 1: You know what I was watching while I was doing
- 40:22Speaker 1: my taxes. This is my pro tip for anyone who's like,
- 40:25Speaker 1: I don't want to do my taxes.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Scotty, I don't want to do them.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Is I got on a notebook because me and you
- 40:29Speaker 1: both have multiple streams of income, and that's what makes
- 40:31Speaker 1: it stressful. It's not like when I yearned for the
- 40:34Speaker 1: days when I just had one job and I could.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Just put it into turbotil. We literally did this to ourselves. Yeah,
- 40:39Speaker 2: I know.
- 40:40Speaker 1: And so I had to make a list of all
- 40:42Speaker 1: my streams of income and like, yeah, all the things.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And while I did that, I turned on this new
- 40:48Speaker 1: Regency period drama called Seeking Persephone. It's on Amazon Prime you.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Find wild shows. I'll tell you what. No, it's like
- 40:56Speaker 2: a Regency period drama.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I didn't make sense to my had What does that
- 41:00Speaker 1: even mean? You know, Bridgerton, it's like that, you just
- 41:03Speaker 1: like that historics I love. I love.
- 41:07Speaker 2: No, they don't even fuck what's the point. I'm sure,
- 41:10Speaker 2: why did you watch it? Would you watch it? Honestly?
- 41:12Speaker 1: I think sometimes Bridgerton has fallen in love with its
- 41:15Speaker 1: mythology too much about how it's the sexy Regency Bodice Ripper.
- 41:20Speaker 1: And ultimately, when I watched it the first season, of course,
- 41:23Speaker 1: I was like, oh, yeah, this is the sexiest show
- 41:25Speaker 1: I've ever seen.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Really, No, no, it's actually not. But I was texting
- 41:29Speaker 2: with somebody and they said it was so steamy. I mean, yeah,
- 41:32Speaker 2: it's it's hot, but it's not.
- 41:34Speaker 1: It's not anything crazy like Game of Phones is crazier anyway.
- 41:38Speaker 1: So season one I was like, I just this is
- 41:41Speaker 1: such a well done show and I love historical fiction.
- 41:45Speaker 1: And then I feel like they've leaned in too much
- 41:48Speaker 1: and people expect us to be super super raunchy mm hmmm.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Well they learned that way. I literally, if you think
- 41:54Speaker 2: of the shows that have blown up, it all has
- 41:57Speaker 2: that kind of line of like heated rivalry, same kind
- 42:00Speaker 2: of deal, Bridgerton, same kind of deal, Gray's Anatomy, same
- 42:04Speaker 2: kind of deal where it's like everybody has to have
- 42:06Speaker 2: this thick, hot romance where I mean it's nice. I
- 42:11Speaker 2: don't hate it. Yeah, I'm here for it. But there
- 42:13Speaker 2: was a show this boy Brain. There was a show
- 42:16Speaker 2: about Vikings that was like a historical piece. Oh Vikings aboualla,
- 42:20Speaker 2: Well it was something along that line. I don't remember.
- 42:22Speaker 2: It was like did from Bebin Burrough. I don't remember
- 42:25Speaker 2: the show what it was called, but it was so
- 42:26Speaker 2: good because it was about Vikings and I was like
- 42:28Speaker 2: fascinating because I was like, yeah, loose fiction, I don't
- 42:32Speaker 2: know whatever, loose historical, but I was so interested in
- 42:35Speaker 2: what that time period would have been like. And it
- 42:36Speaker 2: was like only a little bit of sex. Yeah, not completely.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Every episode was.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Sex, but it's got to be like you got to
- 42:42Speaker 1: use it like salt correct. It needs to be there
- 42:44Speaker 1: for a little flavor.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Absolutely, but if you do it too much, then you
- 42:47Speaker 2: just you're like, oh, that's too much. Well I want
- 42:49Speaker 2: to be bought into the character's love, yes, yeah, but
- 42:52Speaker 2: I don't Wally only watch that show for the sex exactly.
- 42:55Speaker 2: That's what other things are for.
- 42:56Speaker 1: And so that's what I get worried about with other shows,
- 42:58Speaker 1: where especially with Heat of Rivalry season two, I'm like,
- 43:00Speaker 1: don't lean too much into the sex.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Oh they will, that's not yet will, But that's not
- 43:05Speaker 2: why we're here.
- 43:05Speaker 1: I'm like, it's just a really well done show and
- 43:07Speaker 1: sex just happens to be a part of it.
- 43:09Speaker 2: But they know that we're all dirty minded animals. That's
- 43:13Speaker 2: still at the end of the day, that's what we're
- 43:15Speaker 2: searching out. But even though it's nice to have just
- 43:17Speaker 2: a show that's a little bit of love interest and
- 43:20Speaker 2: just a lot more about what would have been like
- 43:23Speaker 2: back in that day. That's why I watch it.
- 43:25Speaker 1: I find it so the social construct of that time
- 43:27Speaker 1: period is so interesting to me. Like the whole Bridgerton
- 43:30Speaker 1: Season one storyline is fascinating because it's so accurate to
- 43:34Speaker 1: what it was like to get married.
- 43:36Speaker 2: As a nineteen year old in that day.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Like they literally wouldn't tell you what sex is, and
- 43:41Speaker 1: then they were like breeding you to be a perfect wife.
- 43:45Speaker 1: And then you're like twenty years old and then they're like, okay,
- 43:48Speaker 1: now get married and now fuck and but they.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Don't tell you.
- 43:51Speaker 1: They don't like, they don't tell you. You just get married
- 43:54Speaker 1: and then you're like surprised.
- 43:56Speaker 2: That's a good point. I mean, honestly, it's not that
- 43:58Speaker 2: it's like that still, but there are still a lot
- 44:01Speaker 2: of like a lot of communities. There's a lot of
- 44:03Speaker 2: people that literally don't know about it until they're doing
- 44:06Speaker 2: it in the moment. That's what I mean. Is that's
- 44:07Speaker 2: so wild to me. Yeah, And well that's why we
- 44:09Speaker 2: have like so many problems because it's like, well, you
- 44:13Speaker 2: have you know, if we could have the conversation. If
- 44:16Speaker 2: we could talk about it more, it wouldn't be so taboo.
- 44:18Speaker 2: We wouldn't have all these you know, even kids getting
- 44:22Speaker 2: into trouble because they would know what the heck it is.
- 44:24Speaker 2: They would know what they're doing.
- 44:25Speaker 1: So season one was such an interesting portrayal of a
- 44:28Speaker 1: storyline that you never really see in regency dramas because
- 44:31Speaker 1: regency dramas tend to not get sexy, and so for
- 44:34Speaker 1: the first time, Regency got a little sexy, but showed
- 44:37Speaker 1: the reality of what that time period was like, where
- 44:39Speaker 1: it's like they raised these really chased socially upity women
- 44:44Speaker 1: and this is what happens when you don't when you
- 44:46Speaker 1: keep women in the dark.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I need to watch this show now. It's really good,
- 44:50Speaker 2: I do. This is how it was a Game of Thrones,
- 44:52Speaker 2: though once the show gets too many seasons in or
- 44:54Speaker 2: stranger things, that's how it was too Like everyone's already
- 44:56Speaker 2: watched it. I'm already behind. But it does sound fascinating.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's not one of those things where you
- 45:01Speaker 1: need to watch season two to appreciate season three. Everything
- 45:05Speaker 1: has its own storyline, so if you watched season four,
- 45:08Speaker 1: you might miss out on a couple of small nuances
- 45:11Speaker 1: between the characters, but it's by no means something you
- 45:13Speaker 1: need to completely watch in order to get I.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Think we might have talked about this before, but what
- 45:19Speaker 2: is your like is there a time period that you're
- 45:20Speaker 2: the most interested in?
- 45:23Speaker 1: I mean, I think I used to be fascinated with
- 45:26Speaker 1: with those time periods, but then I look back and
- 45:28Speaker 1: I go, I wouldn't have wanted to live back there.
- 45:30Speaker 2: No, not necessarily knowing when I'm there, but knowing what
- 45:33Speaker 2: I know now. Yeah. I mean we live technically in
- 45:36Speaker 2: the best time to live, obviously because we have the
- 45:38Speaker 2: most of everything. Yeah, and it's still hard. There's still
- 45:41Speaker 2: plenty of struggles. It's not everything comes with the cost.
- 45:44Speaker 2: But the most interesting time I always think of, like
- 45:47Speaker 2: the nineteen twenties sounded just so extravagant. Not for everybody,
- 45:53Speaker 2: not saying that, but like when I remember learning about
- 45:56Speaker 2: it in history, I was like, damn to go out
- 45:58Speaker 2: to like a speakeasy or like to be dancing all
- 46:01Speaker 2: night Like it was just felt so community driven, so interactive,
- 46:05Speaker 2: so fun and spontaneous. And I also like the idea
- 46:08Speaker 2: of being able to do stuff. This sounds weird, but
- 46:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna say it anyway and getting away with it. Yeah,
- 46:13Speaker 2: does that make sense? I know you can't get away
- 46:15Speaker 2: with anything.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you mean in like the not in the illegal sense. Yeah. Yeah.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Now I'm not trying to do anything illegal. Nobody's trying
- 46:22Speaker 2: to get hurt. But like it was just a you
- 46:24Speaker 2: could just sneak out in the middle of the night
- 46:26Speaker 2: and go have a crazy night, come back. There's no
- 46:29Speaker 2: cameras of you. Nobody needs to know. Nobody's sending a
- 46:31Speaker 2: phone call because I don't know there were no phones.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Right, You can be a little saucy without without it
- 46:36Speaker 1: being a life endying thing.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Like you could have a conversation with somebody and
- 46:39Speaker 2: that's it. Like it doesn't have to be posted anywhere.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Those are the time periods that I'm like, dang or
- 46:44Speaker 2: And this is why I've been picking I've picked my
- 46:46Speaker 2: grandparents' brain about this, my dad's brain about this, because
- 46:49Speaker 2: I always think about, like, what the hell is the seventies.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Like, I know, like Studio fifty four, I would have
- 46:55Speaker 1: loved to have been in Studio fifty four for a night.
- 46:57Speaker 2: That sounds wild, But that also sounds like a time
- 47:00Speaker 2: period which just seems so free. And I know that's again,
- 47:03Speaker 2: I just saw the out of my phone. They're doing
- 47:04Speaker 2: another party in Tampa where it's no phones. That's why
- 47:08Speaker 2: I think it's so appealing is because you are forced
- 47:11Speaker 2: to just interact and be social and see what it's
- 47:13Speaker 2: like in that construct. I think we just all yearned
- 47:16Speaker 2: for that. But I like I miss when people what
- 47:19Speaker 2: it seemed like just let themselves be loose. Yeah, they
- 47:22Speaker 2: could just have a good time and enjoy each other's
- 47:24Speaker 2: company without the fear of judgment or phones.
- 47:26Speaker 1: So I think I look back on those time periods
- 47:28Speaker 1: like the seventies or maybe the nineties, I think that
- 47:32Speaker 1: would be a fun time period to live in realistically.
- 47:35Speaker 1: But I feel like also just any form of media
- 47:37Speaker 1: tends to romanticize specific time periods, Like the seventies had issues,
- 47:41Speaker 1: like they were roofing women left and right in Studio
- 47:44Speaker 1: fifty four. I think, yeah, the nineties in New York
- 47:47Speaker 1: is getting romanticized right now because of the Carolyn Besset
- 47:50Speaker 1: JFK's story. The nineties in New York had its own problems,
- 47:53Speaker 1: you know.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Of course, the.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Only time period I romanticize and would genuinely want to
- 47:57Speaker 1: go back to is twenty sixteenth Actually.
- 48:01Speaker 2: That's so valid of like first year in college, second
- 48:05Speaker 2: year was second year having a good time, Like it
- 48:07Speaker 2: was very and you what's so weird is, as you always,
- 48:10Speaker 2: you get older and you look back and you're like, man,
- 48:12Speaker 2: I wish I would have appreciated those times more. But
- 48:14Speaker 2: I do remember in that second year, like I started
- 48:16Speaker 2: getting too serious about what I wanted to do, and
- 48:18Speaker 2: I think I went through like a depression in my
- 48:19Speaker 2: second year of like just being so down on myself
- 48:21Speaker 2: for not knowing what I wanted to do and not
- 48:23Speaker 2: being where I wanted to be in my successful life.
- 48:25Speaker 2: And now I'm like, Scott, you idiot, why don't you
- 48:27Speaker 2: just go to parties and have a great blackout night.
- 48:29Speaker 1: That's saying like that's what twenty sixteen was meant for.
- 48:32Speaker 2: I know I had a grete twenty sixteen. Yeah, but
- 48:34Speaker 2: I also everybody did well, Yeah, that was a great year.
- 48:37Speaker 2: But then I also remember, like by that time of college,
- 48:39Speaker 2: I started being like, you know what, why didn't you
- 48:41Speaker 2: take a step back from like tailgates and parties and
- 48:44Speaker 2: all this stuff. And I'm like, I don't really have
- 48:46Speaker 2: a desire to do it now, Oh prude, Scottie, No,
- 48:49Speaker 2: I just felt like I didn't need to do it anymore.
- 48:51Speaker 2: But now I miss those days. It was just so
- 48:54Speaker 2: it's just crazy perspective. It was so free. A night
- 48:57Speaker 2: could just be wild fun. And also, if you remember
- 49:00Speaker 2: twenty sixteen, not everything was getting posted up.
- 49:03Speaker 1: No, it was like every now and then you take
- 49:05Speaker 1: a place what snapchat existed, and I think that was
- 49:07Speaker 1: a Yeah, that was a legitimate fear for people. So
- 49:10Speaker 1: twenty sixteen people, I've heard people say that word. It's
- 49:12Speaker 1: like that was the last era before things got I'm like, no,
- 49:15Speaker 1: twenty sixteen.
- 49:16Speaker 2: You still had to be very uh vigilant. But I
- 49:19Speaker 2: don't remember being addicted to the phone like I am now.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Like I remember we had Instagram.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Yeah I remember, but that's so true.
- 49:27Speaker 2: I wasn't always scrolling to see the next post or
- 49:30Speaker 2: worry about getting viral, or worried about being famous. And
- 49:33Speaker 2: then maybe that's just the personal thing. Yeah, but now
- 49:36Speaker 2: it's literally everywhere. I was just walking by a family
- 49:38Speaker 2: at the movie theater and just we all do it.
- 49:41Speaker 2: So I'm not judging, but it was almost as I
- 49:44Speaker 2: was looking at myself and I see all the family members,
- 49:46Speaker 2: they're all together, and they're all looking at their phone. Yeah,
- 49:49Speaker 2: and I'm like, it feels like a movie we're watching
- 49:54Speaker 2: us just let our lives just go by, because we're
- 49:57Speaker 2: just so looking at posts that we don't even remember.
- 50:00Speaker 2: I've been on Instagram all morning. I cannot tell you
- 50:02Speaker 2: one post that I saw. Yeah, isn't that weird? Doesn't
- 50:04Speaker 2: really stick with you? No, but we spend so much
- 50:07Speaker 2: time on it, it's entertaining in the moment. Let's see
- 50:09Speaker 2: who's worse before we go on screen time, Abby, Let's see, Oh,
- 50:12Speaker 2: I'm worse. I don't know. I have a problem, and
- 50:15Speaker 2: I'm admitting it on this podcast. I'm on my phone
- 50:18Speaker 2: all the time. Okay, you probably have worse. Then let's
- 50:20Speaker 2: see just screen time alone. Because this is why twenty
- 50:24Speaker 2: sixteen seems so fun to me, because I'm like, God,
- 50:27Speaker 2: you could just party all night and you weren't worried
- 50:28Speaker 2: about putting it on your Insta story. Oh, I was
- 50:31Speaker 2: putting it amends. Well, I was putting it on my
- 50:32Speaker 2: snapshot snapchat. I had to tell people, look I drink. Now,
- 50:36Speaker 2: I'm crazy. Okay, your screen time look at this. I'm
- 50:39Speaker 2: down from last week. Go me, I'm improving. Let's just
- 50:43Speaker 2: start with Okay, let's go to all your apps.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Just what's your daily average? My daily average, I'm down
- 50:51Speaker 1: thirteen percent. I'm down thirty one percent. So let's see. Okay,
- 50:54Speaker 1: that's not fair.
- 50:56Speaker 2: I know I've been trying to improve. That's why I'm
- 50:57Speaker 2: talking about it here. Okay, in three two one, eight hours,
- 51:02Speaker 2: four hours and thirteen minutes. Oh my god, wait.
- 51:06Speaker 1: But you're on You're down thirty one per Here's where.
- 51:08Speaker 2: It really matters, though. It matters what you're doing on
- 51:10Speaker 2: your phone. Yeah. No, So what is your nothing productive?
- 51:12Speaker 2: What is your most used? Where does it say that,
- 51:16Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, this is so sad to look at Jesus. Yeah,
- 51:20Speaker 2: I'm on it. Okay. If you go to like down
- 51:23Speaker 2: on your phone from screen time, it says most used.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Do you see that. What is your most used Instagram? Yeah?
- 51:29Speaker 2: Mine is too, and then TikTok Okay, mine's not TikTok.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Mine's messenger. Okay, I do a lot of messages. Good
- 51:33Speaker 2: for me. What's your Instagram time? Fourteen hours? Oh my gosh,
- 51:42Speaker 2: my insta screen time it says seven hours and seventeen minutes.
- 51:45Speaker 2: I think that's a total of this week. What's your
- 51:47Speaker 2: daily average?
- 51:48Speaker 1: What was your daily average last week?
- 51:50Speaker 2: That's what I want to know. Last week? Oh my god,
- 51:52Speaker 2: how do you go to last week? Oh? This week?
- 51:54Speaker 2: Last week? I don't know how to do that to
- 51:56Speaker 2: last week. I don't know where to do. You can
- 51:58Speaker 2: you can scroll? Oh my god, this is so bad. Okay,
- 52:03Speaker 2: wait a second. Last week you could scroll on the
- 52:06Speaker 2: daily average. Mine doesn't do that this week. Oh wait,
- 52:12Speaker 2: last week? There it is. Okay, Okay. Last week's average
- 52:16Speaker 2: was five hours and twenty eight minutes, so it's down
- 52:19Speaker 2: a little bit. But that's because we're only, like what
- 52:21Speaker 2: we're recording us on a Wednesday, only halfway through. But
- 52:24Speaker 2: let me see your most us you said Instagram. My
- 52:27Speaker 2: total amount of time last week on Instagram was fourteen
- 52:30Speaker 2: hours and fifty one minutes. Okay, judgment free zone, thank you.
- 52:35Speaker 2: We're omitting. We have a problem, so we could do
- 52:37Speaker 2: something about the problem. A problem I do. But that's
- 52:39Speaker 2: what I'm saying is it was something that was casually used.
- 52:43Speaker 2: It was fun actually connecting, and now it's literally an addiction. Yeah,
- 52:47Speaker 2: you could be up all night scrolling, and I've done it.
- 52:49Speaker 2: I think that's why I missed out on thirty minutes
- 52:51Speaker 2: to sleep every night because as soon as I get
- 52:52Speaker 2: in bed, I'm like just a little bit extra, little
- 52:55Speaker 2: swipe it.
- 52:55Speaker 1: I mean, if you think about it, people used to
- 52:57Speaker 1: do that with books or whatever back in the day.
- 52:59Speaker 2: They would read or what TV before. But books are better.
- 53:01Speaker 2: At least books are actually giving you something to like.
- 53:04Speaker 2: It's the way your brain, Oh boy, science Scott has
- 53:08Speaker 2: to create the story with a book and it's working
- 53:10Speaker 2: in a different way and it's bringing you into this
- 53:13Speaker 2: other universe, whereas TV made it a little worse because
- 53:17Speaker 2: it's just kind of brain rotting where you're just watching
