- speaker-0: It is show us your tips, Daggy and Beaver with you for Everest and Caulfield Cup Day. Beaver, what's going on? speaker-1: Mates a bit gloomy weather at the moment, bit under the weather myself, but we keep fighting on and we're here to hopefully find some winners on big day of racing. speaker-0: Is a big day. Two very deep cards. How's the confidence levels? I I c actually couldn't work out if I'm keen or not. speaker-1: look a bit mixed. the problem that I have with the weather conditions as they are makes it a little bit tricky when you don't know how the track's gonna play and whether it's gonna get to the better side of soft or we're gonna get more rain and it's gonna still stick around a heavy eight, which raises concerns and maybe knocked about by some scratchings, probably not too many on days like this because there's so much prize money up for grabs, they still tend to run speaker-0: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I mean I was I was thinking and I was doing the form yesterday what happens when they scratch autumn glow. speaker-1: Yes, well speaker-0: If it's a heavy town. I doubt they will now that Jenny's in. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, they probably probably won't, but I don't think they'll want to bust its gut either. But bit tricky if you wanna take the cash. 'cause it appears to be pretty easy cash. speaker-0: Exactly. speaker-1: probably run around there backwards and in heavy and still winds. So yeah, tough decisions, tough calls for speaker-0: Yeah, yeah, and then you've got Caulfield which probably needs to be ripped up the way it's going at the moment. But anyway, we'll start let's start at we'll get to that later. We'll start at Roundwick where it is Everest Day. They copped a shit ton of rain, as most would be aware. apparently only about five mil now today and tomorrow, so we'll see what happens there. So heavy eight potentially soft seven if we see any sun, I guess is where we're working. Rail three meters. Can be a bit last man standing. Sometimes those roundwick heavies can be a bit leaderish too, or hard to make ground, but we'll see how it all pans out. We kick off with the big dance wild card over a mile. and what are you gonna do in the first? speaker-1: Yeah, it is a bit of a wild card here, but I'm gonna stick with the favourite in Matthias. There's probably come up a little bit short here, but looks to have a fair bit of improvement and upside based on its its first run at Newcastle. That wasn't a bad run. Let's leave it dominated. hit the line okay, fit extra ground, ran some nice races last preparation. I think from the the gun draw couldn't run well. I've got the main danger of is tap. time. I think it can run well as well. First up, again in the same race, hit the line okay and we know that again it'll has raced in better company than this. speaker-0: Yeah, I'm with I'm with Matthias here. I didn't mind the run into Cameron. All the horses are beat at home, fully lit and I'm in twin and who was it, Mr. Miller would all start favourite in this race. So I'll go with it. Schnitzel on the wet shouldn't be too much of an issue. I couldn't even get that excited about anything else. Actually had peer pressure as the main danger. I thought it's come back okay. ran behind Samarell last time. We went up and brained him at Brisbane. And I think there's map to lead here, so just from purely the lack of pace, the fact that'll be out there made it the main danger, but I think a favorite is hard to beat to go on to the big dance on Cup Day. the second is the group three Reginald Alard for the three year old Phillies. And I have gone for the for the Melbourne visitor here. Calamari ring, I thought it's it might have become a bit of a run on a run on type of horse already, but All of those runs look ready for fourteen hundred metres. Hard fit. The stable now is apparently absolutely airborne. everything puts out's winning at the moment. So I'm gonna go with it. on top. Saffron Veil I think's I guess a rightful favourite. And I thought the value in the race was Hello Liz. It was a decent enough win there and should get through the conditions. Okay, Kiwi bred Philly down the bottom. But Calamar Ring should be ready to go now. What are you thinking? speaker-1: I marked all those three horses that you've had just in a slightly different order. I did go Saffron Veil on top. Only had the three starts. But if I look at those, even the last two, two starts ago ran very close behind Sequind, who's franked that form and probably should have won that day, and then come out and beat Afari, which has won really, really well since kicked their brains in. So that looks like a good form line for a race like this. So I think it can get the right run. here with the McDonald Waller combination, hard to go past. Calamari Ringo had us the main danger coming out from Melbourne, racing some good quality races. It's got to bring that form here and probably improve a little. And again, hello Liz. One start, one win. Could could run one. speaker-0: Yeah, interesting. You found it half found it as well. I thought it was over the odds when I went back and the twin was good and it it'll be up on pace. the third is the angst. It's a group three, it's over the mile again. It's for the mayors. What are you doing here? speaker-1: Yeah, tricky, tricky affair here. Plenty of chances. look, I I'm sticking with unleashing purely on the basis of the last three rounds have been all very, very good, very close behind to Coran, who's in a very good race. To the tomorrow, close up behind Night Agent, and then finally broke through with a lovely win, finishing nicely. last start beating Polomania. its sweat form is very good. Had the one start on the heavy one, two on soft, first and the second. so hard to go past it. Just looks like a progressive horse, got it on top. I think Transcend can run really well as well. likes the heavy track, New Zealand horse has. in the heavy there and has been ultra consistent of late, lost on protest, won and then wasn't disgraced when third. I think if this horse can put it together, it's just got a few head case noises and doesn't know how to put races away, if it can learn how to do that, might be better than than it suggests. And maybe the Mona Lisa can return to another good run who's been ultra consistent. speaker-0: yeah. I transcend's got blinkers on first time, I don't know If that's a good thing or bad thing for that horse, but I guess we'll find out. live chance. I I've got Unleash on top as well. great wet stats, as you've said. Kiwi, about a done deal. It was a good win last time, gets Jay Collett, who rides wet tracks as well as anyone. one of the better bets on the card. I ended up deciding he just has to has snuck through last time now, just has to get the outside. I think he can can reel these in. from the Mona Lisa who gets a better setup than it did last time out, do a bit of chasing there. preliminary run well again, as as she always does. The fourth is the St. Ledger, twenty six hundred metres. And we've lost Juju assume Juju Kibo's going to the Caulfield Cup then, okay. and Anthracite's come out. What am I left with? so you are on top. Yeah. It was third pick 'cause I had those two ahead of it, but handles a condition. obviously Bjorn seems to be going pretty well and probably leads these now. So yeah, put it on top. Woods is an absolute wet tracker. If it is bottomless, it might be the value in this race, but we've lost the other two I was gonna talk about. What are you thinking here? speaker-1: Yeah, same same. I thought $2.80 is pro looks a fairly good price. two wins last two starts. both been of merits, drops even a kilo on its latest win, looks to handle this thing out of the ground, probably gets control here and there doesn't seem to be a lot of chases in this. speaker-0: No. interesting. The fifth is the Kosy Osco for a couple of million bucks. Twelve hundred metres. they've gone and found the best, you know, out wide horses to run around here and it's a very interesting field. What do you what do you like? speaker-1: It is a very interesting field here. There's some I've found it really hard to split a few of here. I've I've settled on Chidiac. on the basis that it's has had three first up wins and one all three. So it flies fresh. It's had a a very nice trial at some Scone. run won really easy that trial there and was fairly hard held. Gets J Mack aboard. It's had one three for five on the soft it's one seven for early in its career. So this looks like a really really good chance in a really open field here. Chains of Love can run really really well. It goes well first up, handles the sting out of the ground, will get to the middle of the track. had some nice trials as well, trolling really well, beating Rivolino at its latest trial. I think those two will fight it out. And Lord Remlat, third up now, was fantastic first up. Ranwell second up could be the knockout. speaker-0: Yeah, I've I've Lord Redman on top, but I'll cover a couple. it had no chance in that Rose Hill race. That was absolute leaders highway there. It ran as well as it could have behind west of Dalby. But the win before was good. I think handles the condition as well. just need, as everyone does, a little bit of luck. I thought the other one you didn't mention was considered. two Queensland runs now comes here third up, which is the the the done playbook. Gets Zack Purton gate one. Could be concern, but also has never missed the Cornella in the wet iron two from two and a heavy. So a cheeky odds play there that I'll I'll probably cover the eight and nine. And I I agree with the other chances you mentioned. They all will be in and around early quarties and the like. tricky race. The six is the Sydney Stakes, a repercharged for the Everest, 1200 metres. And It is a a very interesting race here. I ended up deciding when to cover a couple as we need to. First is Charmstone. was good last time out. at Caulfield there, behind Jimmy Starr. sitting outside lead and and was quite strong. Handles the wet okay, I think. haven't seen a lot of it on the wet. King Secrets blink could go on, I think so. The odds will run well. And Pericles is another one that I'll just have a little bit of money on. I just have had the image of it ploughing through some mud when it got really heavy. it was ran as well as it could have in the Manicado went back and didn't get much clear air. comes here, more of a spec on that one. went looking at Skyboard, went looking at Grafter Burners and Overpasses, the other chances, but yeah, predominantly the first three I mentioned of how I'll play the card. What what have you done? Just on mute, mate. Sorry. speaker-1: Yeah, I settled on three in this race and the one I had on top was Joker's Green. Okay. Not the best run first up, but that was it wasn't that far behind Marzu Jolie Star. It was only four lengths off them in a group two. prior to that's been plenty of work at the trials and then went last in work, won a couple of nice races before a fifth and going out for spell. Second up does its best work, it's won three out of four second up, and a s and a second. so four out of four there. And has a couple of wins on soft tracks, so I think it can run really well. Well, and I'm thinking Waller might have it churned up. The other two I liked, I just didn't like the barriers was Overpass and Skybert. overpass is is the class force of this field. Again, goes really well on the soft, runs well first up, just drawn in the car parks and may have to be used up a bit to burn across there. And where does Skyberg get to? Not sure. But again, was a lot to like about its win last start at Flemington. Can't leave it out. speaker-0: Beauty. The feature kicks off the quaddy. It is the what is it, $20 million Everest. twelve hundred meters now officially a group one and all the talk's been around the condition of the track. Kaying Rising's running regardless as I'm sure all of these will try to. What are you doing? speaker-1: Well, well, well, what do we do here? look, you you can't go past Kying Rising. there is a there's a bit of a question mark around the track and how it will handle it. but this horse is it's one twenty-two out of twenty-four and there is no faster horse. so gate eleven probably by this time's probably in the better part of the track. sitting in the middle of the track. it'll get a it'll get a cart across from Blue Door. I got it on top. Might even get out to Backup Bloods. speaker-0: Probably not under one port anyway. speaker-1: No. speaker-0: But you might get somewhere. Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah, attempted's gonna be super hard to beat, but probably drawn on the wrong side of the track now. in gate one. So probably Schofield will probably need to look to shift off defense as quickly as possible. It's certainly the main danger, but look, Jimmy Starr, it bounced back to form last start. There's no reason why Jimmy Starr can't win again. Loves the sting out of the track. That was pretty impressive last start. Fourteen dollars is is not a bad price and Jolly Star will winner how good Jolly Star is. I think the top four have the have the key to the race to be to be totally honest. I can't really see anything outside of that winning. speaker-0: Yeah, last year I got all fancy about trying to back horses at odds and whatnot here. I think Jim I Kanye Rising just wins. Unless it's an absolute blog. I I don't think it'll be that bad. King Rising wins. do I wanna take double fifty? No. Will I take better than that? Of course. Yeah. So Sierra gets to it'll be the only bet I'll have. I might back spicy martini a place. or headwall place if you get s the five, six, seven bucks. But I'll watch and watch and if I'll cheer, but I'll watch and admire Kaying Rising in the feature. The eighth is the Silver Eagle. It's a listed race of four year olds, worth a million bucks apparently. thirteen hundred meters. I am going to put Baywack on top with a bit of a caveat that it's got to get through the ground again. But the back to twelve hundred meter run we were we were both concerned about. Back up to towards thirteen shoots better. There's not a heap of pace here. It and Skyhook go forward and get it and Skyhook control the race. Skyhook is the obvious wet tracker if it is bottomless. we'll be were there to pick up the pieces. The other two at odds that I'll throw into a quaddy, which I haven't thought about. Roulette King which is a hundred to one, I think he's a a talented horse, pops up here randomly. And Platinum Pantheon was good last start on his back to Australia. and should get through the ground okay. But if the best of Baobick turns up, they won't catch it. what are you doing? speaker-1: Yeah, I think that's right. I think if the best of Baywag turns up, they won't catch it. But I'm gonna go sky hook. I just like the natural progression here. I think it's it comes back to the 1300 year. I think the sting out of the track probably suits it a bit more than Baywag, Baywack Sony's side. but yeah, it's like yeah, if it if it runs its best, it's gonna be super hard to beat. And I thought Platinum Pantheon could run well as well. I really liked the last one run. It was unlucky not to win, and if if they go So hard and the they're coming down the middle of the track, look at it, could finish over the top of them. speaker-0: Beauty. the ninth is the King Charles Stakes. We've lost Pride of Jenny in this rich race. So there's what five of left. and as I said, if it's I I think it'll run, but imagine if Autumn Blow came out. Actually if Autumn Blow came out it'd be quite interesting 'cause Jess Folk would be half a chance then. I think she wins. Do we have to talk much else about this? Chail will probably run second, etc. speaker-1: Dollar thirty stealing money. speaker-0: Did you say that about She's at an Ablai last week? She's at Alibi? I don't know. speaker-1: Well, no, 'cause I th I thought with she's a alibi, there was a there was still a bit of would she have her brilliance over two thousand? And we saw that I don't think she did. and races had to be sued first time over two thousand, pace Mapping who who knows? Autumn Glow can do whatever it wants. You know, she's alibi couldn't have went forward and sat on the outside and just won. Autumn Glow can just sit wherever it wants here and beat these. speaker-0: Yeah. You're probably probably right. speaker-1: So if I if I look at a dollar thirty in this five runners, which two are legless, yeah, God's window one last start, but yeah, against Autumn Glow, I mean speaker-0: No, no chance. But it's probably what's gonna pick up three hundred thousand just for turning up. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, it's way to do it. So I think dollar thirty is probably good value. speaker-0: I yeah, fair enough. I I don't know if I'll take it, but this time. speaker-1: No, man, same same same for me, but if you you whatever and whatever crack like yeah. speaker-0: If you're that way inclined. Yes, this is a this is a much safer dollar thirty chance. it'll end up being a dollar four on the one pull. But it'll be something so dollar thirty as you say is is value from that point of view, yes. does trade off just one second or is there something else here? You can't even bet in a second by the time we get into that. speaker-1: shape with Frank second year. speaker-0: Yeah. the last is interesting. It's a fourteen hundred meter benchmark eighty eight for the the much favoured whirlpool. What what are we doing here? speaker-1: Yeah, this is this is a tough interesting race, but I I kept looking for something to beat Cross Tasman and I just kept coming back to it. It's third up now, so it's at its peak fitness. ran really nice first top at Goldburn and then only just got picked by a good horse in decorum last start, carrying fifty-nine. so it can handle the weight. gate fourteen's probably okay, probably will come in a couple with some scratchings over the course of the day, but that'll probably be the pace to be. Has some pace, can get into a good spot and got Zaki Lloyd aboard. The second favourite's also gonna be hard to beat. Urtajar, that was a really good win first up, was a bit easy in the market, but put Peytor, but that was probably a fairly B-grade field. Goes from a 72 to an 88 benchmark, so jump, it's got no weight on its back and drawn force, it'll run a bold race. And interestingly, well J Mac's riding the other ballers probably because he can't get to the weight of the fifty two. so that makes sense. And then maybe down in the in the market at odds, Miss Space Girl and Test of Love, they could be knockout chances. speaker-0: yeah, I I was lucky. I by the time I was done I couldn't find really any reason to oppose. Cross Tasman so it is on top. won't rehash all of that. Test of love I assume's come here looking for wet tracks, so th that caught my interest at a price. Definitely throw into the quaddy there. And the Belmont Gangster now it's gotta run did it run as well as it could first up, got a bit lost up the straight ones on the wrong side of the track and is a wet tracker, so Are they with I was looking to the two Melbourne visitors as dangerous? I think that Cross Tasman has the Sydney form covered. So I'll leave it at that and I'll look at the Quaddy, which look first leg will go one Kaying Rising. Second leg will go one Baewack, three Skyhook, six Roulette King, nine Platinum Pantheon, and thirteen Plantiff. Third leg five Autumn Glow. And we'll come home with three cross Tasman and a couple at odds. Try and get something out of this. Fourteen test of love, seventeen Belmont Gangster, nineteen ruination. that'll do. I don't know if I'm not interested in a quaddy. my best on the card is race three number eight. Unleashing. My value, race five, number eight considered. What about yourself, Beaver? speaker-1: Yeah, my best bet comes up in race two, number four, Saffron Veil. And my value bet comes up in race six, number two, Joker's Green. speaker-0: Beauty. we do do this free every week, by the way. If you're tuning in for Everest Tips, we are here each and every week, most weeks of the year. So subscribe, like and do that good stuff as we head to Corfield, where the track is good. Rail goes back to the three meter position after being out thirteen on Wednesday where it was a bit of a tough slog for some. And look we I g I don't know how it's gonna play. Do we know how Crawford plays? Sometimes it falls apart, sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's up and in. I I've given up keeping too much track, but hopefully we can get a scope on it as we play on. What's that? Okay. I know, I know, I know. anyway, we'll kick off with a two thousand meter grip three. It is the sports bet classic for the three year olds. Last stop on the way to Derby Day for these. I'll go first. I think I gotta take nine dollars Leopold, don't I? After Lopolo after I made it the best of the day last time. just didn't handle the conditions. Just didn't go a yard, got pulled up, kept for this. Now getting a good price for what's probably still the best horse, on a fair track, at least in my opinion. Keen gonna back it. and I was interested in King Snitz come into town when what will be a slow race, gonna just sit on pace, potentially lead this for a top jockey. So that was it. I just saw wave shot number one and moved on. What are you thinking? speaker-1: I'm gonna do same. I had it as my best bet as well. It was too bad to be true. Last start, we've got to say that it just didn't handle the going. Hopefully that hasn't hindered it at all, given that they're they're backing it up here a fortnight later, suggests that it's all go and good track can run well. yeah, and a bucket and maybe get back in some of the better races that it might start in. speaker-0: Well it's gonna start short. If it wins this, it's gonna be shorter in a derby, isn't it? speaker-1: That's right. So might back it in back. speaker-0: Good work. Take the chances. Yep. Now the second is the Phillies equivalent, the Ethereal. bit trickier. What are you thinking? speaker-1: yeah, a little bit trickier, but I think it's a race in two. I'm going Fringilla on top of Miss Waiti. not much between these, but I think Fringilla can maybe control this race. I think the step up to 2000 is perfect and I think it's gonna be the hardest to beat. speaker-0: Cool. yeah, I this white T D I know it was a bit of a demolition job, but there's something w when they win by that bigger space on the wet, i it it's sometimes hard to come back to the to the dry. I've I've defaulted to it. the two I went looking for and that I'll probably not back into price, one's your colour, coming down from Sydney. Blake Shin jumps on for Walla. And that was a An okay warm up, so it had a a bit of a warm up at Newcastle at one and it just chased Wonker in Genesis runner last week. comes here, it's ten dollars and brings some different form. And I thought quick finish was good, it'll be on base. And it was wasn't a bad win last time out, so I I thought it should be closer in the market to the other two anyway. So that's why I I thought I'll pr I'd mention those two. the two Beaver mentioned absolutely wouldn't talk out of either if you wanted to play them. The third is the 1100 meter listed Allingi Stakes. end. We know with these set weights and penalties, girls' races, you just back the best horse, which is usually number one. GG's mistruth. Great return. actually you didn't have a lot of luck. Probably could have gone close to winning that race first up behind Jimmy, or at least fighting at the finish. it'll win this with even luck. We've just missed the price, I've noticed. So just get on. Best of the day, GG's mistruth. Main danger Eagle Express at least brings some Sydney form here. And it's probably now the time of you to get a bit more scared about this wall of bringing down some Sydney form. what are you doing, Beaver? speaker-1: Exactly the same. I'd only be repeating what you said. I've got GG's Mistruth on top, best taur start up, drawn well, hard to beat, and the Sydney form can be followed. speaker-0: Happy days. The fourth is the Gothic. It is for the three year olds for the f it is for the three year olds. over fourteen hundred meters. What are we doing here? speaker-1: Yeah, this was this was quite tricky, I thought. I was trying to line these up. I ended up going for Star of Macedon. I thought the the run at Kilmore was pretty good, which started short, but some won quite well, gets the extra 200 here. And prior to that, before it was sort of given a bit of a a freshen up, had some really good form at Flemington, finishing in the placings in the three previous starts. So sharpened up here, can run well, drawn well. I thought Amond could run well, won well on Deboo and then wasn't disgraced here last start. not far off them. I think it's got some room for improvement and can run really well. those were the two I was sort of leaning towards. speaker-0: I've got IMR on top. I backed I know it's coming for big SP but I backed it there at thirties. Just missed. But that was good run. Set outside lead and was just nabbed by a horse I'm gonna mention when we get to the thousand guineas. so I'll put it on top. I agree with Star of Macedon. We'll cover that. That was good first up, as you said, by Hashall out, Coda, Hitanga. Looks a bit scary to me. I thought it was good. the I know it's Pacnum, but Crambon, sorry, but that was a strong win. ran away with it and just gets an inside gate here which can help in a race it's probably a little bit up for grabs. double three for me. The fifth is the Harry White Stakes 1400 meter group three. I went up and down this and then I just put private on top. loves Corfield should lead. If it doesn't we later we'll I'll I'll tag off El Rocco if El Rocco wants to go crazy but she'll get it right there. And the run last start was better than I than I gave it credit on the day. And even the one at r the run at Ram, we call it reads a seven of eight, but it got snagged right back. It was just an odd odd race for it. The rest of the runs are fine. You know what you get, he's getting a bit older, but I think just sets up well to to get another win on the board here. I went looking for Woleto. Trolls are fine. we'll do the job around Caulfield. And Hughes I thought was interesting, but it's one of those horses you can't you can never quite rub its dam. That all being said, yeah, Private Eye is probably just gonna be close to my soul bet here. What are you thinking? speaker-1: Yeah, I thought the same. I thought private eye just looked to be the one to go to here. gets the gate to so can pose it up where it needs to be here is is the best horse in the race and got the service of Blake Shin. I I found it super hard to beat. War machine, I just don't know where it's at yeah at the moment. It was played up and scratched when first up then I thought was just only average First up and similarly second up. So I'm just not sure where it's at at the moment. So we know how good it is if it's in its best form and probably starts favourite in this, but probably have to see something again. Willode goes well first up, so that's a fair call and Hughes the same. can put can run well. speaker-0: Excellent. We've got the six, which is the group two sprint over a thousand meters. Who you like here? speaker-1: Yeah, Cavalry Girl can't go past. Just flying at the moment. Gate five, freshened up. Willow aboard. Yeah, just just flying. So can't can't go past it. Probably leads and wins. speaker-0: Yep, yep, yep. Same for me. Palaton was fine, resuming, but sorta snuck along the fence there and had a few favours. But Caver Girl only nabbed late by my gladiola in that group one. It'll s lo s line up very well here. on top for me too. The seventh kicks off the Quaddy, which is the group one thousand guineas for the three year old Phillies over a mile. what am I doing here? I went looking I hope we can run on. Hope all things have been equal 'cause I I don't know if I'm keen, but I ended up settling on the two run on horses here and that's over the bridge in Regal Ambition. I I really like Regal Ambition. just noticed there's been a bit of money for it today. Regal Ambition has last two wins has just unleashed a real sustained sprint to to reel them in. if Mickey D can get it within striking distance, I think a mile should be fine. And over the bridge. Was impressive last time. I don't beat IMR I just mentioned I am Aria before, but did a bit wrong. Now third up, obviously better for the run, stable flying, best jockey down there on they're the two. I suppose the market suggests that. that I've settled on and that'll do me. Yeah, yeah. What are you thinking? speaker-1: Yeah, look, not overly different. I've settled on Regal Ambition as well. third up here, I've loved the two runs in the right stable. and you're right. it's looks like it can the the step up in another 200 will be right up its alley. it'll be in the running line somewhere and They're gonna be have to be do something to hold it out. I thought the other run on horse Diamas could run well. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: coming from Sydney, the the New Zealand horse first up was okay and then showed some really good improvement last start to finish behind Global Goal in a group one. and then comes here. I I I've got to yeah, I won't be letting this one get under my guard. I'll be saving on it, that's for sure. And there's no reason pretty baby won't run well again. It was five to four favorite behind in front of the Regal Ambition last start and wasn't that far behind it. speaker-0: No, no, fought out the finish there. yeah, definitely scared of Diarmas. race eight is the group three Sapphire Stakes. I'm hoping here that the outside gates again are in action, but we'll know by this stage. I'm gonna back doubt time. I thought it was a good debut. big plunge horse on debut, one one well there. And was good last start. Didn't get a lot of clear air, and he really got wound up late and sort of beat the rest of the pack. It was stuck with home. Pretty well. talented Philly, I think. so I'm gonna put it on top and I'll have a little save on pocket full of cashew controls now. It was burn up for burn off first time out by nature. What's the McAvoy thing? Natural fling. and you're getting twenties for a leader with a bit of pace. So the other two, I didn't have a lot else. I'm not overly enthusiastic about the rest. These threads will be fine if you like it. what are you thinking? speaker-1: Yeah, I've got barracks on top. first up was pretty good. Was long odds on at Rose Hill and won the maiden, beating Athari, who's improved since when it had the blinkers go on. So that looks like okay. I think I suspected it will have come on from that. It's come to Melbourne in the Mars stable, who's flying and got Williams aboard. I think this around the $11 mark is a is a nice little each way bet. I've got it on top. doubt time, you're up. I think there's improvement there. And I think it can run well. And I've also got a horse halfpipe that's coming down from Sydney, coming down from Sydney that's been going well as well, racing in some good company behind Blue Door, Guest House and Blue Door. So they're pretty good runs. It can run well as well in an open affair. speaker-0: Cool. sorry, I was just looking at the Oaks Market. proximity D is the favourite apparently. Global goals not coming down. Is she is that right? Okay. that aside, we need to focus on the other feature of the day, which is the Group One Corfield Cup, twenty four hundred metres. And a very interesting race. We've got some internationals mixed in as usual. so I'd get to pass over to B with our first crack. speaker-1: So if my day that thinks a lot. speaker-0: See, I swapped the races down. Clever. speaker-1: Yeah yeah I knew there was a catch here somewhere. yeah look interesting Caulfield Cup, very open race, lot of value there by like there always is and there's a few imports that are having their their first starts in Australia which is always interesting and to try and line them up, probably not as many as you would expect, which is quite interesting. What am I doing? I've narrowed it down to to a few. I'm actually gonna put half yours on top. So I think this has been set for this race. It's third up here. First two runs have been pretty good. Gets in at 57 and a half, which is possibly okay. I mean it's up five kilos on last year, but this is You know, this is a a a bit of a different race and and won pretty easily last year. handles the going. was okay. Last start in the heavy. first up was pretty good behind She's an alibi. I think it's ready to go now and I've got it on top. I think it can run really well. and I think it has to if it's going to continue on to the cup. My second pick, who's a horse I've been following for a while for this, is St. George. I'm willing to put a put a line through last start in the heavy at Flemington, got way too far out of its ground. forget about that run. Up to the 2400 now. gate two is perfect. it's got the Ma Williams combination. good. It's going be super hard to beat, and certainly one you you've got to have in your top two. my next pick is Aran. If you've got St. George in, you've got to have Zaran in beat it a couple of starts back again. Probably a few excuses in the heavy going last start. So put a put a line through through that. it's here and ready and set to run really well. and the other one I'm keen to see how it goes is The International number 10. Wine Dark Sea. really keen to see how this goes. It's an on-pacer from from overseas. Gate 19 was a bit of a concern for me. so may have to be used up here, but it gets in at 54 and a half, gets Damian Lane on board, and I think certainly can run a big race. that I had. speaker-0: I got the same top four. I have. I've gone with Wine Dark Sea. I've just gravitated to the internet. I like that they've found Damien Lane and haven't bought an international jockey out. so that gets a tick over the other and I think it's a better horse than the other internationals. The one down the bottom I don't think it runs, but that interesting horse Mars bought. the emergency whose name's just escaped me. Point of law. Point of law. But yeah, just I I was looking at that too earlier. But not for so much for this. Yeah, one duck sound top. Damien Lane, I liked it's I've liked its twenty five hundred metre runs. I like what it brings here. Gate nineteen is the only reason I'm not not declaring it or or want to plow into it, but I think it's a definite well it's a top pick here. Half yours, second. it's needed a jockey change for a year now. It gets Mark Zara on board. It's had the same prep as it's had When it won the the race last year, hasn't been done for 40 odd years since Ming Dynasty. I went and had a look at that. but this is a a jockey upgrade though as opposed to what's been riding it. And it was good as the same came through the Turnbull same way last time out and sets up again. and St. George and Zayran, they're just as you said, they're just linked to each other. They're basically having the same preps, they're both running as well as each other. so if you like one, I'll Take the other St. Geor Craig Williams will sneak through and and make the most of gate two to just have me pi putting it slightly ahead of of the stable mate. look, Cosmic Crusader I was gonna pan but I can't. It runs have been fine. And Kingswood was interesting. I didn't realise it never had a twenty four hundred metre run. I just assumed it had. Yeah, how funny is that? smart man. Probably not. So let's see how we go. We could be very wrong, by the way. The tenth is the Tristark fourteen hundred meters group two. where I I'm gonna back Shadavar, I think, as much for sanity as anything else. I wasn't enthused with the ride over in Adelaide. Probably should have won that race. I'm I'm not as excited about this favorite as some might be, I'm sure, tomorrow. I don't know why I just something feels a little bit wrong, but it was the best win it's ever had was a fourteen hundred metre second up. It was very, very impressive. So I guess I'll cop it being rightful favourite and I'll just see what mood I'm in when I get to the race. Couldn't find any any other chances really, except John Saddler's announced he's retiring, so there might be an interesting farewell there if Merigold wins. What do you think? speaker-1: No, I'm going for Concord, Connie. I think it's a fairly good bet. I think you'll see a bit of improvement on its first up run, but probably yeah, was a slightly disappointing getting knocked over at very short price, but I think you'll see remarkable improvement here and it'll be too good for these. speaker-0: Cool. you got a best for us? You know, give us no, do Quaddy? Do you Caulfield Cup Day Quaddy? This'll pay all right, surely. speaker-1: Courfield Cup Day Quaddy. How about it, Okay, in the first leg, I'm going number nine, Regal Ambition. Number three, Saintly Dancer. Number four, Diamas, and number two, pretty baby. In the second leg, race eight. I'm going number six, doubt time. Number five, Tales of Time, Number Nine, Barracks, and Number 10, Half Pipe. In the Caulfield Cup, which is the third leg, I'm going number 12, St. George, number 16, Zaran, number 10, Wine Dark Sea, Number 1, Half Yours, and Number 13, Starford. And to finish off the last, I'm going number twelve, Concord, Connie, number four, Shadavar, and number ten, Tira Lee. Okay. speaker-0: Beauty. your best in value. speaker-1: my value bet is gonna come up in the Caulfield Cup. I'm going number one, half yours. just to throw a bit of a spanner in the works and my best bet is race six, number two, Cavalry Girl. speaker-0: My best race three, number one, GG's Mistruth. My value race one. Number one Le Polo. always some value around the cup too. So I like how I do like half yours. I can see it being my best result tomorrow. what's happening in Queensland? I thought Kamari Bay would be hard to beat up there. But what else have you found? speaker-1: Yeah, Queensland, where the track is looking to be a little bit soft and Dunban, not easy. I think the race two number two, Canmare Bay, I think it can win again and now it has broken through. and then when I move forward, I've got race. Sorry. Race five, number nine, cardinet, flying at the moment, can make it three on the trot. and then later in the day I've gone race eight, number twelve, propaganda, and race nine, number twelve, ten deep. Be ten deep by then. speaker-0: Beautiful. Thank you. I hope so. all eyes on the sky to see if I have to stand on a cricket field for summer tomorrow. But apart from that, looking forward to what sh should be a speaker-1: You're not look you're not looking well, I'd be yeah. speaker-0: No, I might be able to pull a doctor's certificate actually. speaker-1: Yeah, that's what I'll be thinking about. speaker-0: yeah. Looking forward to that. Thank you, Beaver. We do this every week, as I said. We do it again next week for the Cox Plate at Flemington. that'll be well, similar to the races we've already seen this year. we'll do it in p we might do that one in person, as I keep saying. But be good, Beaver. Good betting tomorrow. And thank you, punners. We will catch up soon. See you guys. speaker-1: All good?
