- 0:02Speaker 1: College football fans, Welcome back to the College Ball Show.
- 0:05Speaker 1: He's Marshall Lump Chris, and we're here to talk week eight.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Man three of the top ten go down swinging Miami, Texas, Tech, UNLV,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Memphis all unbeaten. Whether they were going in the Week eight,
- 0:22Speaker 1: they are no longer unbeaten. Bama pretty much handled Tennessee
- 0:27Speaker 1: in the second half. Georgia gets by Old Miss in
- 0:30Speaker 1: a Pac twelve Big twelve Shootouts style game. Because I
- 0:36Speaker 1: remember years ago a lot of people in the SEC
- 0:38Speaker 1: used to give shit to those two conferences for having
- 0:41Speaker 1: these shootouts, and then lo and behold, they're having those
- 0:44Speaker 1: same shootouts. Miszoo finds a way against Auburn Vandy outlast
- 0:52Speaker 1: LSU Texas got out gained, They needed punt returns to
- 0:57Speaker 1: be able to win that game. We're gonna talk all
- 1:00Speaker 1: the way through the Holy War. Of course, my Gophers
- 1:05Speaker 1: dominated the corn Huskers.
- 1:06Speaker 2: We're gonna talk week eight at the start.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Then we're gonna look ahead, preview and predictions for Week nine.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Old Miss at Oklahoma A and m at LSU Fandy
- 1:19Speaker 1: hosting Miszoo, which is a huge, huge game BYU at
- 1:24Speaker 1: Iowa State, USF at Memphis Can Memphis Bunce back. There
- 1:30Speaker 1: is a variety of games that we're gonna get to preview, predict,
- 1:35Speaker 1: talk upsets. Of course, I got multiple against the spread
- 1:42Speaker 1: plus numbers that I'm trying to kind of get down.
- 1:45Speaker 2: On my head. I have two plus numbers already.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Bet I like to get on some of them early
- 1:51Speaker 1: if I feel good about them. One of them is
- 1:54Speaker 1: a huge plus number, but I kind of feel like
- 1:56Speaker 1: it's gonna happen. But anyway, we'll get to week nine
- 1:59Speaker 1: and of course the crafty crappy pick of the week
- 2:02Speaker 1: we like to close with. If this is your first
- 2:05Speaker 1: time listening to the College Ball Show, Welcome. It's under
- 2:09Speaker 1: the Rope Adobe Radio podcast umbrella, which can be found
- 2:14Speaker 1: Rope adop Radio on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Google Podcasts,
- 2:19Speaker 1: Amazon Music, and more. Head on off to the Grillingtruth

- 2:25Speaker 1: from DirecTV Streaming starts at forty nine ninety nine for
- 2:29Speaker 1: the first month. You do have that five day free
- 2:31Speaker 1: trial if you go to the choice package that's ESPN
- 2:34Speaker 1: fandual SEC Network in the NFL network fifty nine to
- 2:38Speaker 1: ninety nine for the first month and the ultimate package
- 2:40Speaker 1: which includes all those including over one hundred and sixty
- 2:44Speaker 1: channels eighty nine ninety nine for the first month. Okay,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and bring in my co host Marshall.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Marshall Man, what another great weekend in the sport of
- 2:56Speaker 1: college football.
- 2:57Speaker 3: My friend, it really us Chris. You know, I think
- 3:04Speaker 3: I don't know if we've had like an Armageddon weekend
- 3:07Speaker 3: where it's been completely crazy, but trying to use the
- 3:11Speaker 3: best memory I've had for the past five years, which
- 3:13Speaker 3: is kind of crazy, but I think this has been
- 3:16Speaker 3: one of the most consistently good regular seasons we've had
- 3:19Speaker 3: in a long time. We're about yeah, because in the
- 3:24Speaker 3: years passers like, okay, crazy upset week, next week after that,
- 3:29Speaker 3: all the big teams crush, crazy upset teams crush. There
- 3:32Speaker 3: hasn't been like that week where like all the top
- 3:35Speaker 3: it does. Yeah, and we've had it just and maybe
- 3:38Speaker 3: we haven't had to completely lose your shit week, but
- 3:41Speaker 3: there's been quite a few of them that are pretty close,
- 3:43Speaker 3: or we've had a lot of top notch games that
- 3:45Speaker 3: have been good games. So we've been and we're we're
- 3:49Speaker 3: still got halfways to go. We're maybe past the halfways turnable,
- 3:52Speaker 3: we're close. So yeah, it's been a very good for
- 3:54Speaker 3: college football season so far. I hope it stays that
- 3:56Speaker 3: way because it makes this show we do it very
- 3:58Speaker 3: enjoyable and it helps the sport. Girl. Man, if you're
- 4:01Speaker 3: I mean, if you've been growing up in last if
- 4:03Speaker 3: you're a teenager now, the past four or five years
- 4:05Speaker 3: college football, you've get spoiled, man, compared to what I
- 4:08Speaker 3: remember I was in high school. We used to bitch about,
- 4:11Speaker 3: Oh the BCS is it? Is it good? Or is
- 4:13Speaker 3: it bad? Or what are we doing? Yes for my
- 4:16Speaker 3: opening rant, dude, how many how many lives does Kirby
- 4:22Speaker 3: Smart have? That that that freaking it's like the nine
- 4:27Speaker 3: lives of a cat. Every week it seems that Georgia
- 4:31Speaker 3: will get down at half, they'll make some adjustments, and
- 4:34Speaker 3: that team just won't go away. This past week, perfect example,
- 4:39Speaker 3: Lane Kiff and my guy calls a tremendous game, but
- 4:42Speaker 3: he can't play for the kids. He called a tremendous game.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Offense was moving, Trinidad had the country flags were waving.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Everything was good. Fourth quarter it's like they ran out
- 4:54Speaker 3: of gas and there was nothing. And this is like
- 4:57Speaker 3: and Georgia. Just man, they did the same thing versus Tennessee.
- 5:01Speaker 3: They did the same thing versus Auburn. They're a team now.
- 5:04Speaker 3: They might not be the best team in the country, Chris,
- 5:06Speaker 3: but golly, they're a hard team to beat. And when
- 5:09Speaker 3: because it's something to be said for Hey, we're gonna
- 5:12Speaker 3: play at full sixty minutes. A lot of teams have
- 5:14Speaker 3: given Georgia a good forty five, but the last fifteen
- 5:17Speaker 3: so for whatever reason, I don't like to say because
- 5:20Speaker 3: I'm talking about my boy laying losing, but hats off
- 5:23Speaker 3: to Georgia. Another weren't your best in the first half,
- 5:27Speaker 3: you do something fourth quarters, you're a quarter And that
- 5:30Speaker 3: was a really good win. And I'm sad for Lane
- 5:32Speaker 3: because that would have been a huge win for them.
- 5:34Speaker 3: They're not out of the playoffs right now, but that's
- 5:37Speaker 3: a tough one. And that defense from Georgia, they stepped
- 5:40Speaker 3: it up. And I really I didn't see that happened
- 5:42Speaker 3: at Chris, because they were moving so smooth and to
- 5:44Speaker 3: get like I think you said, at one point in
- 5:46Speaker 3: the fourth quarter, it was like one hundred and twenty
- 5:48Speaker 3: eight yards, so two, it's like, what happened? Damn?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah, one, twenty six to one. I don't remember how
- 5:55Speaker 1: much time that was, but yeah, that was crazy. Now,
- 6:00Speaker 1: the slow starts, you know, as seven to three after
- 6:03Speaker 1: the first but by halftime, you know it was a
- 6:06Speaker 1: tie or not tie. It was twenty one to twenty,
- 6:08Speaker 1: so they didn't get off to as slow of a start.
- 6:11Speaker 1: But I mean two punts in the fourth quarter, both
- 6:17Speaker 1: of them three and out. They they literally, I'm looking
- 6:20Speaker 1: at it right now, in the fourth quarter they gained
- 6:24Speaker 1: thirteen yards on six plays. Jesus, that's crazy. But it
- 6:32Speaker 1: goes field goal. This is how Georgia didn't punt. I
- 6:35Speaker 1: thought they punted once as wrong field goal, touchdown, touchdown,
- 6:39Speaker 1: field goal, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, field goal, and then there
- 6:44Speaker 1: was a turnover on downs. Obviously after that, it was crazy, man.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And you know they they're running the ball better this year.
- 6:54Speaker 1: It's kind of by committee. You had Stockton had fifty
- 6:57Speaker 1: nine yards, you had Fraser seventy two, Bowens had sixty one,
- 7:01Speaker 1: Dillion Bell had nineteen, he had, you know, seventeen on
- 7:05Speaker 1: just one of them. So two twenty one four point
- 7:09Speaker 1: five a clip to.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Only eighty eight yards.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And it's not like it was some kind of heavy turnover.
- 7:18Speaker 1: You know, neither side I think lost.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I think they both fumbled, but I don't think either
- 7:22Speaker 2: side actually agreed.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so that was a great game. And like I said,
- 7:29Speaker 1: not that long ago, folks in the SEC used to
- 7:34Speaker 1: make fun of these type of games for the Big
- 7:36Speaker 1: twelve in the Pac twelve, and that's what college is
- 7:41Speaker 1: all about.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Now.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Shit, you see that in the pros. Now the rules
- 7:44Speaker 1: have changed minorly in the college, not not as intensely
- 7:49Speaker 1: as they had in the NFL.
- 7:51Speaker 2: But it was a really great game. We said, you know,
- 7:55Speaker 2: losing that old for old miss.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Losing on the road to Georgia not the craziest thing
- 8:01Speaker 1: if you could just get your shit back together and
- 8:04Speaker 1: not lose another game that you're favored in. And obviously
- 8:09Speaker 1: they're not favored on the road here in Oklahoma. Now,
- 8:13Speaker 1: Oklahoma offensively is not all that great. So we're gonna
- 8:17Speaker 1: find out even when the dude was doing his thing,
- 8:21Speaker 1: they really weren't putting up that many points.
- 8:23Speaker 2: In general. They got a really.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Solid defense, So we'll see what wins that offense or defense.
- 8:31Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, Georgia just doing their thing and
- 8:34Speaker 1: now Bama, you know a lot of things were said
- 8:38Speaker 1: based off that Florida State game, and it was a
- 8:41Speaker 1: horrible display. You know, there's plenty of highlights you could
- 8:45Speaker 1: pull up and be like, what the hell was that?
- 8:48Speaker 1: But that was a long time ago now, and you
- 8:50Speaker 1: just said it like we're about we're over halfway this.
- 8:55Speaker 1: This is what's crazy about college football. It is now
- 8:57Speaker 1: a marathon throughout the whole year because of the setup
- 9:00Speaker 1: of the playoff now, but compared to the NFL, like
- 9:05Speaker 1: it's a sprint or at least like a two hundred
- 9:08Speaker 1: maybe a four hundred tops. I mean, dude, we have
- 9:11Speaker 1: six weeks left of the regular season, six weeks left
- 9:15Speaker 1: of them until the conference finals.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Dude, I mean we.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Have week nine, Week ten, and then that Tuesday we'll
- 9:22Speaker 1: have our first ranking.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Then we'll have a month to scream about stuff.
- 9:26Speaker 1: But late October October twentieth, and we're literally six weeks.
- 9:33Speaker 2: From conference finals. Dude.
- 9:35Speaker 1: It's just I guess seven weeks. But I can't believe
- 9:38Speaker 1: there's only six weeks left of this season.
- 9:42Speaker 2: But so much can hand you know, That's what I'm saying.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It's still kind of a marathon because so much happens
- 9:48Speaker 1: in that time. I remember years ago when they put
- 9:51Speaker 1: out you know, the one of the first I think
- 9:53Speaker 1: it was the first playoff ranking when it was only
- 9:56Speaker 1: four in Ohio state was like fifteenth, and they made
- 9:59Speaker 1: it all the way to fourth, you know, like and
- 10:01Speaker 1: they won the championship that year. So you just, you know,
- 10:04Speaker 1: we think we know a lot, but then we don't.
- 10:07Speaker 1: All right, I'll shut up Alabama, Tennessee. I mean back
- 10:12Speaker 1: to Alabama. Four weeks in a row against ranked teams,
- 10:17Speaker 1: home away, whatever, what can you say? I mean, They're
- 10:23Speaker 1: still not running the ball all that well, we know that,
- 10:27Speaker 1: but they're throwing it. Their defense is starting to turn
- 10:30Speaker 1: the corner. And obviously the speaking of turn in the corner,
- 10:35Speaker 1: you know that to have two touchdowns in the second
- 10:40Speaker 1: in the second quarter would have been big in the
- 10:42Speaker 1: score right before half would have been monstrous. But that
- 10:47Speaker 1: picked six man that really opened up the game, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: they never could.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Quite get all the way back. Alabama just kind of
- 10:54Speaker 2: run away with the thirty seven to twenty.
- 10:57Speaker 3: You know, every week Tyson continues to impress me. I
- 11:03Speaker 3: really did think a couple of games he went a
- 11:04Speaker 3: little traditional list of a like a basic offensive old
- 11:08Speaker 3: squel Alabama playbook. But the more. I've been watching him
- 11:10Speaker 3: play versus Missoo, versus Tennessee. I guess he keeps doing
- 11:14Speaker 3: more stuff to where I got to kind of go
- 11:16Speaker 3: back about four weeks ago and kind of eat my
- 11:18Speaker 3: words a little bit. He's just he's continued to evolve
- 11:21Speaker 3: as a really good quarterback and he doesn't do any
- 11:24Speaker 3: fuck ups. Like, even watching an NFL in college this year,
- 11:28Speaker 3: you realize how hard is to be a good quarterback.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Like there's really not there's not even that good quarterbacks
- 11:34Speaker 3: in the NFL this year for their standard. Same for college.
- 11:36Speaker 3: There's lots of guys that like, dude, Like I watched
- 11:39Speaker 3: the North Texas game versus North Texas was playing UTSA
- 11:47Speaker 3: this week, and in the first half I saw a
- 11:50Speaker 3: touch which would have been a touchdown pass for incomplete
- 11:54Speaker 3: passes that guys would have had touchdowns if the quarterbacks
- 11:56Speaker 3: hits him. And these are dudes running down the field
- 11:58Speaker 3: wide open. So he can remind myself, like, dude, being
- 12:01Speaker 3: a quarterback is hard, Like I know that, and maybe
- 12:05Speaker 3: it's just the way the game's changed, but it's just
- 12:07Speaker 3: something about that it's hard to be an elite quarterback.
- 12:10Speaker 3: And if I'm gonna be fair and rip other people.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I gotta keep working that guy up the ladder and
- 12:16Speaker 3: he just takes here of the ball. He does his shit.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I do think part of it Chris, for sure is
- 12:21Speaker 3: the fact that he has a great coach. I know
- 12:23Speaker 3: that the tusk loosive people wanted to, you know, put
- 12:27Speaker 3: the boor on a steak and hang him, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 3: week one. But he's yeah, I who knows how to
- 12:32Speaker 3: run a freaking offense? Because if you, if you're a
- 12:33Speaker 3: college football fan like a lot of us are, you
- 12:35Speaker 3: remember what he did in Washington. At Washington, Dude, that
- 12:38Speaker 3: offense was nasty. They had that four wide that wins
- 12:42Speaker 3: to the national title game. So that who knows how
- 12:44Speaker 3: to coach? But with the game itself, Hey, Tennessee hung
- 12:48Speaker 3: in there when at tuscal loose is hard. I don't
- 12:50Speaker 3: think they've won it Tuscaloosa in almost two decades, so
- 12:53Speaker 3: it's been a minute. But they were going with them
- 12:56Speaker 3: punch for punch. I thought the Tennessee quarterback played pretty good,
- 13:00Speaker 3: but then that was just such a backbreaker at halftime.
- 13:04Speaker 3: But just listen, like the ESPN guys break it down,
- 13:07Speaker 3: that's one of those like plays that's just a everyone
- 13:10Speaker 3: runs at play where you have the people kind of
- 13:12Speaker 3: flat out and the fullback goes out wide chiever goes
- 13:14Speaker 3: out and the point the couple of ESPN people have said,
- 13:17Speaker 3: which even I realized was on that play, you gotta
- 13:19Speaker 3: throw the ball outside because, as they said, the dB
- 13:23Speaker 3: believe I believe it is Booger McFarlane. He's like, hey,
- 13:25Speaker 3: in that situation, the dB knows you're not gonna run,
- 13:28Speaker 3: and right because Tennessee had like ten seconds left before half,
- 13:31Speaker 3: no timeouts, You're you're not gonna sit on a run
- 13:33Speaker 3: if you're a safety. And so obviously, okay, I'm not
- 13:36Speaker 3: worried about the run. I see pass and then I
- 13:39Speaker 3: bolt and it was just half seconds all you need
- 13:43Speaker 3: and that high level of the sec where it means
- 13:46Speaker 3: more you made a mistake. And to the hat SoC
- 13:50Speaker 3: Chris of the to the Tennessee wide receiver, he almost
- 13:54Speaker 3: tracked him down, but he couldn't quite get there. He
- 13:56Speaker 3: didn't have dk metcalf speed. But hey, you almost made it.
- 14:00Speaker 3: But hey, that was just that play. You going to
- 14:02Speaker 3: half and if you're Tennessee. Now they did come back
- 14:04Speaker 3: and score. Hats off to them for trying to put
- 14:07Speaker 3: a fight. But now, when you make plays like that, Chris,
- 14:10Speaker 3: your team's not gonna lose. So another good win by Bama.
- 14:13Speaker 3: You won by seventeen. They held him up. I believe
- 14:17Speaker 3: they stopped him on the half yard by then the
- 14:19Speaker 3: game to cover the spread two or to stay under
- 14:23Speaker 3: the game. I think they missed the game by over
- 14:25Speaker 3: like a point, so a little bit of points spread
- 14:27Speaker 3: love there at the end. But hey, a nice one
- 14:29Speaker 3: by Bama. And hey, that Florida State game, Like you said,
- 14:32Speaker 3: that seems a long time ago. This Bama team. Maybe
- 14:35Speaker 3: they slept walk a little bit for Week one, but
- 14:36Speaker 3: since then many they've been undefeated. And since then, Chris,
- 14:41Speaker 3: Florestate almost hasn't won a game either. Complete tide reversal.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's for sure. We'll get into them. Don't you
- 14:49Speaker 2: worry about that. We're gonna get into them. But I'm
- 14:53Speaker 2: sure they were happy seeing this Friday night. Positive and
- 14:57Speaker 2: negative for me. Although I won both my bets because
- 14:59Speaker 2: I had a plus fourteen and a half for the
- 15:01Speaker 2: Louisville I thought it was gonna be a close game,
- 15:03Speaker 2: and I had a plus ten.
- 15:04Speaker 1: And a half for the Ghosts. But Miami goes down
- 15:10Speaker 1: one of the early interceptions. I think the second interception
- 15:14Speaker 1: led to a field goal, one of them did. And
- 15:17Speaker 1: then late they had a tip pass and this is
- 15:23Speaker 1: really late, with like maybe forty seconds left that.
- 15:28Speaker 2: The defense I think it was the tackle got beat
- 15:32Speaker 2: and he hit his arm right when he was releasing.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Otherwise they had this tight end. I'm not saying he
- 15:37Speaker 1: would have scored, but they would have been in in
- 15:40Speaker 1: ranged at least tie. They got a pretty good kicker,
- 15:44Speaker 1: but it is a college kicker. But that that one
- 15:47Speaker 1: hurt right there. There was two of them were i
- 15:51Speaker 1: would say on the quarterback, one of them was on
- 15:55Speaker 1: the tackle, one of them was on the receiver. So
- 15:58Speaker 1: but when long story short, they just needed to play
- 16:03Speaker 1: better earlier and not get down like that. And then
- 16:08Speaker 1: credit to Louisville. Two things, you know, quick, quick release,
- 16:13Speaker 1: get rid of the ball. Don't let you know when
- 16:16Speaker 1: you have a lead, you want to get rid of
- 16:18Speaker 1: that ball quickly so you don't even have to mess
- 16:21Speaker 1: with that crazy you know, those crazy defensive ends. But
- 16:25Speaker 1: also the chot blocks, you know, like go low on
- 16:30Speaker 1: them and keep And I'm not saying it's dirty, Okay,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I'm not making excuse your any what's that.
- 16:37Speaker 3: It's it's football exactly.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just bringing it up.
- 16:40Speaker 1: That's what they were doing, and that I'm pretty sure
- 16:42Speaker 1: that's that's probably what everybody's gonna do.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Now.
- 16:45Speaker 3: You need.
- 16:48Speaker 1: The right kind of running back to build a run,
- 16:50Speaker 1: but you also need the right kind of wide receiver
- 16:54Speaker 1: because they have to separate in a short amount of time.
- 16:58Speaker 1: And Isaac Brown had fifteen carries buck thirteen and that
- 17:01Speaker 1: Chris Bell had nine for a buck thirty six.
- 17:04Speaker 2: He played great.
- 17:06Speaker 1: So get rid of the ball and for the for
- 17:10Speaker 1: the teams that have the guys that if it's one
- 17:13Speaker 1: on one, they can beat the coverage and you know,
- 17:16Speaker 1: create separation because if you got to get rid of
- 17:19Speaker 1: the ball quick, you gotta create separations.
- 17:21Speaker 2: So shouts out to bron They did their thing, and
- 17:26Speaker 2: now the ACC is is wide open, wide open.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Hey. So last week we talked about how my co
- 17:35Speaker 3: host said, I gotta give that USC quarterbacks and profts
- 17:38Speaker 3: because you know, he's he's having a good year and
- 17:40Speaker 3: Miller Moss has been having some issues and he does
- 17:43Speaker 3: raise my blood pressure this for this week, and I'm like, dude,
- 17:46Speaker 3: they're gonna struggle. I'm gonna bet Miami.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I saw that bet like later that night too.
- 17:52Speaker 3: I was like, I should have bet bro bron is
- 17:55Speaker 3: now five and zero versus top five teams in his
- 17:57Speaker 3: career as a coach, beat Meyer. I mean that dude.
- 18:01Speaker 3: He just loves the big matchups where he's a bit
- 18:03Speaker 3: of a dog. Now, what was this a shock the
- 18:05Speaker 3: world game? No? I think Vegas having a thirteen point
- 18:08Speaker 3: fourteen point spread.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Well it dropped down a ten and a half because
- 18:11Speaker 1: I think there was an off two offensive lignment out
- 18:13Speaker 1: for my.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Oh okay, hold on, it was okay, are you there?
- 18:25Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, here you all right? Yeah, you just froze
- 18:31Speaker 3: on me for a second.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, it's it's it's got you on red and
- 18:36Speaker 1: yellow right now the internet.
- 18:38Speaker 2: So I don't know, but I can hear you. Okay,
- 18:40Speaker 2: you're good to go. All right, We're good.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so say it. But Miller Moss, my guy, dude, Hey,
- 18:45Speaker 3: you finally picked a week to show up and this
- 18:47Speaker 3: was the Miller Moss. I fall in love with the USC.
- 18:49Speaker 3: The dude's gone arm. He likes to make place. He's
- 18:51Speaker 3: a quick release quarterback. They do have some playmakers around them,
- 18:56Speaker 3: and hey, and for Carson Beck, is just we all
- 18:59Speaker 3: have whether whatever your job is, people have off days,
- 19:02Speaker 3: and he definitely had an off day. This is a
- 19:04Speaker 3: guy who consistently has been again not a complete like
- 19:08Speaker 3: freaking nature like you know, like truere Sanders kind of no,
- 19:11Speaker 3: but but he takes care of the ball, he makes
- 19:14Speaker 3: the good plays, and he just he couldn't get rhythm
- 19:16Speaker 3: last night or sorry now last night fridnight, and just
- 19:20Speaker 3: like it kind of just unraveled on him, you know.
- 19:22Speaker 3: But shit, people have bad games, like just like you
- 19:24Speaker 3: said about other teams earlier today, don't don't let one
- 19:28Speaker 3: loss become too Now. I don't think they're gonna lose again, but.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I was just really important.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Am I surprised that Miller Moss went off and brought
- 19:36Speaker 3: a good game. No, this is just me, my happiness talking.
- 19:39Speaker 3: But but yeah, the Carson Beck was like, I'm not
- 19:43Speaker 3: seeing a game like that from him, and this year
- 19:46Speaker 3: or last year were Georgie because he's normally just a
- 19:48Speaker 3: pretty steady, a sturdy quarterback. So but shit happens off
- 19:52Speaker 3: name that defense will still be strong. Good to go. Yeah,
- 19:57Speaker 3: I'm happy for half more Moss. Like you said, that
- 20:00Speaker 3: sea is open. I don't believe Ville had that lost
- 20:02Speaker 3: to Virginia, but they're kind of in it. SMU's in it.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Like the ACC title game. If you can predict it now,
- 20:09Speaker 3: would be a really good parlay bet because it could
- 20:12Speaker 3: be all sorts of people at this at this point
- 20:15Speaker 3: and you look.
- 20:15Speaker 1: At the schedule the last you know, on paper, because
- 20:19Speaker 1: we can always say what on paper, but then something
- 20:24Speaker 1: happens in the game. But Georgia Tech had at Duke,
- 20:27Speaker 1: you know, that was probably their toughest game left. Ye
- 20:32Speaker 1: SMU in Miami do play and I and I highlighted
- 20:37Speaker 1: three games, this Louisville game at SMU and then at
- 20:41Speaker 1: Pitt because they're explosive on offense and it could be
- 20:44Speaker 1: cold by the time we get there late November, so
- 20:47Speaker 1: I thought those three are gonna be a big risk.
- 20:50Speaker 1: But it is crazy that Miami could win out and
- 20:52Speaker 1: not make it, you know. And now Virginia did beat
- 20:55Speaker 1: Louisville and Miami didn't, so therefore that's a tiebreaker right there.
- 21:00Speaker 1: So I do think it'll be much tougher if they
- 21:04Speaker 1: go ten and two and not make the conference final.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I don't think they get in then, but it kind
- 21:09Speaker 1: of matters, you know, like that Notre Dame game is
- 21:11Speaker 1: gonna look a lot better now.
- 21:13Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Virginia played with their food and should have lost to
- 21:17Speaker 3: Washington State, and they slept that one out.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I mean, Georgia chech almost lost the wake for us.
- 21:23Speaker 2: So this thing is nowhere near over no.
- 21:26Speaker 1: But yeah, it's uh because the acc coastal used to
- 21:30Speaker 1: be the one you could never really talk about. But anyway, overall,
- 21:35Speaker 1: let's let's see what happens here. Yeah, I don't know,
- 21:40Speaker 1: it's it's it's wide.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Open, all right.
- 21:42Speaker 1: The Gophers destroyed Nebraska six in a row. Now, PJ.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Fleck on Nebraska nine sacks. I think they tied a
- 21:52Speaker 1: record dating back to nineteen seventy seven. They just destroyed, destroyed.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Mahomes. Junior Emmit Johnson was playing pretty good. He's from
- 22:04Speaker 2: he's from Minnesota. He wanted to come here. We didn't
- 22:06Speaker 2: offer him. He said, damn good back We contained them,
- 22:09Speaker 2: and the biggest thing, the biggest weakness for the corn
- 22:13Speaker 2: Huskers was they gave up run and then their offensive
- 22:17Speaker 2: line is kind of.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Back not that great. Well, one hundred and eighty six.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Darius Taylor had one hundred and forty eight of them
- 22:24Speaker 1: at a seventy one yard run where he almost scored.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But when you get nine freakin sacks.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Dude, I mean that.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Is we had two guys that had two to two
- 22:35Speaker 1: and a half we had we had three guys that
- 22:37Speaker 1: had at.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Least two sacks.
- 22:40Speaker 3: That's insane.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, nine sacks, ten tackles for loss.
- 22:45Speaker 2: It was just a dominant, dominant performance. Man.
- 22:48Speaker 1: And it's been since twenty sixteen since Nebraska has won
- 22:55Speaker 1: a road game or sorry, run A won a big
- 22:58Speaker 1: ten game wile raight, so that that's not a.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Good stats in case I needed to hear that.
- 23:08Speaker 1: All right, Well you're the one who picked him, so
- 23:11Speaker 1: shouts out to you, so you could say, I didn't
- 23:14Speaker 1: really give you a chance to talk about that. But
- 23:18Speaker 1: after you talk about that, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Arizona
- 23:21Speaker 1: State got Levitt back and uh and that was like
- 23:26Speaker 1: the last push.
- 23:27Speaker 2: They ended up getting that game twenty six, twenty two.
- 23:30Speaker 3: So those are two games. I bet that both came
- 23:32Speaker 3: down on my side, which thanks unfortunately the other end
- 23:35Speaker 3: of the bad was bad, But all right for the positives. Hey,
- 23:40Speaker 3: like I I actually text you and this is probably
- 23:42Speaker 3: a bit of a strong comparison because I think Philip
- 23:44Speaker 3: Rivers will definitely be a Hall of Famer. But I
- 23:47Speaker 3: do like that Drake Lindsay and he just reminds me
- 23:49Speaker 3: of Philip Rivers, your golf quarterback. It's just the passer
- 23:52Speaker 3: quick that over the middle. He has like that to me,
- 23:55Speaker 3: and I've only watched like one full Gopher game, but
- 23:57Speaker 3: like that five to eight yard range is just quick
- 23:59Speaker 3: bloom boom boom pass and not everyone has.
- 24:02Speaker 2: That was nasty too. Yeah, yeah, he just right on
- 24:06Speaker 2: the money.
- 24:06Speaker 3: His precision is smooth, and you don't have that every
- 24:09Speaker 3: college quarterback at all.
- 24:11Speaker 2: So it's just we're gonna have to hit the portal
- 24:13Speaker 2: next year and get like a top flight wide receiver
- 24:16Speaker 2: just to keep it.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Yeah. So but hey, that just a wedd Just hey,
- 24:20Speaker 3: take care of the ball, don't f it up. But
- 24:22Speaker 3: you can see the arm strength is there. That's one
- 24:24Speaker 3: thing I've on my Yeah. I listened to a lot
- 24:27Speaker 3: of podcasts from back home the sports station where you live,
- 24:30Speaker 3: and they talked about his arm strengths. So it's there.
- 24:31Speaker 3: So I was just really impressed with him. And hey, defensively,
- 24:35Speaker 3: you know good way and the reason I picked missiles
- 24:38Speaker 3: because I just like PJ. Fleck. He's he wins games
- 24:41Speaker 3: like this at home. You could argue that maybe the
- 24:43Speaker 3: ranking should have been flipped. I don't know. I suppose
- 24:46Speaker 3: I could look, but are the Gophers receiving votes on
- 24:48Speaker 3: ap poor? Are they getting closed or they're not quite there?
- 24:50Speaker 2: Just got one, So now they shouldn't have been ranked.
- 24:53Speaker 1: They shouldn't have been ranked, but because they lost the cow,
- 24:57Speaker 1: but there they got this week, someone someone from like
- 25:02Speaker 1: I think it was from Nebraska or something, I can't remember.
- 25:07Speaker 3: And then hey, and then you mentioned the other one,
- 25:09Speaker 3: Arizona State Texas Tech. That was just a really fun
- 25:12Speaker 3: football game. I've watched I think three Arizona State games. Now,
- 25:16Speaker 3: that is a gritty ass team. I know that Skad
- 25:20Speaker 3: was in the NFL now trying to beat people up
- 25:22Speaker 3: with his head. You know, that dude's a psycho. But
- 25:26Speaker 3: that's that personality of they just they don't quit, they
- 25:29Speaker 3: don't quit. They're gritty, they're gritty, they're gritty. That that
- 25:32Speaker 3: Dillion Ham, that dude must be a tremendous fucking coach
- 25:35Speaker 3: because that team just plays hard. Hey, receivers and that Tyson,
- 25:41Speaker 3: that Tyson, dude's good. That dude. It was fourth and
- 25:45Speaker 3: two in that game, so longs for a short. In
- 25:48Speaker 3: that game, Texas Tech's offense really struggle because their backup
- 25:51Speaker 3: quarterback was in and they really couldn't get much mojo
- 25:54Speaker 3: going on offense. That's why I live bet Arizona State
- 25:57Speaker 3: and Arizona game.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Like to they contained him that Dicky only had forty
- 26:02Speaker 1: yards even though he only had nine carries.
- 26:05Speaker 2: But that's a win. If you can keep that team
- 26:07Speaker 2: to one on nine, that's a win.
- 26:09Speaker 3: And that's a guy who's really gone off on people
- 26:11Speaker 3: for almost the whole year.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yeah, huge holes, wide open. He just sprints down there
- 26:16Speaker 1: like he's been killing everybody.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Dude. He had like two hundred and somebody two hundred
- 26:20Speaker 2: and fifty yards last week.
- 26:22Speaker 3: And and Arizona State was up pretty much twelve points
- 26:25Speaker 3: that whole game, and all of a sudden in the
- 26:29Speaker 3: fourth quarter, Texas Texas are driving to get a little rhythm, going,
- 26:32Speaker 3: to get a little rhythm going. They score, okay, now,
- 26:35Speaker 3: then then they're down six and then all of a sudden,
- 26:40Speaker 3: Arizona State with like four minutes ago, they'd get a
- 26:42Speaker 3: big conservative like because college courch is like to do that,
- 26:45Speaker 3: or NFL too shit, whatever, Arizona State was up the
- 26:48Speaker 3: whole game. Now you're only up by whatever six and
- 26:52Speaker 3: then you punt and it was a shank of a
- 26:55Speaker 3: punt and the punt got returned to the twelve guard line.
- 26:59Speaker 3: So next play text Tech Sports. So in the span
- 27:02Speaker 3: of a minute fifteen they went from up to down
- 27:06Speaker 3: and it's like, oh shit, like what just happened. But
- 27:08Speaker 3: to Arizona State's credit, Levitt came back, worked his way
- 27:12Speaker 3: down the field officially had a fourth and two play
- 27:15Speaker 3: at the game of the line hit Tyson for like
- 27:16Speaker 3: a thirty five yard pass. They punched it in the
- 27:20Speaker 3: places went crazy, I will say, though, Chris quickly. When
- 27:23Speaker 3: Texas Tech had the ball with like about forty seconds
- 27:27Speaker 3: to go, Arizona State was doing like massive prevent They
- 27:31Speaker 3: were only rushing three people and had people drop back
- 27:34Speaker 3: like twenty five yards. So when Texas Tech started on
- 27:37Speaker 3: the twenty dude they got the last play of the
- 27:40Speaker 3: game was a pass from the twenty seven yard line.
- 27:44Speaker 3: That's not hell mary range, that's not all draw something up.
- 27:47Speaker 3: So I'm happy they won because if not, I probably
- 27:50Speaker 3: have broke my laptop. We'd be doing a show on
- 27:51Speaker 3: a different podcast for tonight. But I get playing prevat
- 27:55Speaker 3: but dude, giving up twenty five yards a crack is
- 27:58Speaker 3: not I think there's a fine light. And the other
- 28:01Speaker 3: thing is that when you and I've seen it for
- 28:02Speaker 3: the Cowboys, I'm still hot to Aaron Rodgers these calls. Guys,
- 28:05Speaker 3: when you rush three people, that's given the quarterback too
- 28:09Speaker 3: much time. I know you're dropping eight. But when I
- 28:11Speaker 3: see if a team i'm cheering four, I like or
- 28:13Speaker 3: I've bet on rushes three. Nowadays with mobile quarterbacks, the
- 28:18Speaker 3: three just it makes red lights on my head go
- 28:20Speaker 3: off because there's too much time.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's fair. There was a speaking of there
- 28:29Speaker 2: was a time.
- 28:30Speaker 1: There was a time in the Nebraska game where the
- 28:32Speaker 1: Gophers rushed too and they still got.
- 28:35Speaker 3: To because the two is the magic number, not three.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Just do two.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Well, the their tackles just can't block. And then some
- 28:45Speaker 1: dude like got targeted.
- 28:51Speaker 2: A tackle.
- 28:51Speaker 1: They're off of the tackle, the golfers on the ground
- 28:55Speaker 1: and he hit him with his head and so so
- 28:59Speaker 1: he got kicked out. Games so they're they're decent tackle
- 29:02Speaker 1: you know, left the game too.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Then it was just like forget it. But that I
- 29:05Speaker 2: hadn't seen that much at all. But yeah, I know
- 29:09Speaker 2: what you're saying.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Sometimes, you know, it's like unless they have just the
- 29:14Speaker 1: horrible uh you know, unless they just have a really
- 29:18Speaker 1: horrible line or something, or like you said, it's way
- 29:22Speaker 1: way back and it's a hell Mary from the opposite
- 29:25Speaker 1: forty or something.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that I could see.
- 29:27Speaker 3: But yeah, I got down to twenty seven, I started
- 29:29Speaker 3: I started freaking out.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, because they can.
- 29:33Speaker 1: They can take the top off you, but about too much,
- 29:35Speaker 1: so you shouldn't be in the prevank, you know. Yeah,
- 29:40Speaker 1: let's talk about two games. What the hell Vandy outlast?
- 29:49Speaker 1: What the hell is going on? Sorry, Vandy outlasts lsu
- 29:55Speaker 1: anchored down?
- 29:57Speaker 2: Man? That was that was solid.
- 30:00Speaker 1: They two and thirty nine yards rushing compared to one
- 30:05Speaker 1: hundred and actually, you know, that was actually pretty good.
- 30:09Speaker 1: You had Durham eight point four a clip and Barry
- 30:13Speaker 1: five for them. That's like, it's very successful running day.
- 30:17Speaker 1: But they weren't able to keep running. Part of that
- 30:21Speaker 1: is Vandy, part of it the Dandy defense, but part
- 30:24Speaker 1: of it is just they got up on him and
- 30:25Speaker 1: once that third quarter when they put up fourteen points,
- 30:28Speaker 1: it was like, oh, we're up on you now and
- 30:30Speaker 1: now you got to start passing. And we know that
- 30:32Speaker 1: nuss Meyer whether you know, he's obviously hurt, but also
- 30:35Speaker 1: that line is just not They just don't have They
- 30:39Speaker 1: just don't got it on offense.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Man. And they may have a breakout game here and there, you.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Know, the rest of the season and just have a
- 30:48Speaker 1: good going against the horrible you know, defense or something,
- 30:52Speaker 1: but over all, they just don't have it on that
- 30:54Speaker 1: side of the ball, and Vandy gets a job done.
- 30:58Speaker 2: That is the one favorite that I that I.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Went with this last week, and I just did the
- 31:03Speaker 1: money line just in case it got tight. But that
- 31:07Speaker 1: was a big, big win. And then Notre Dame used
- 31:11Speaker 1: a kickoff return, uh and then rushing the ball their
- 31:15Speaker 1: their combo backs are all the way back.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Now.
- 31:18Speaker 1: The first couple of games they didn't play as well.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Didn't really run the ball well against Miami, but they
- 31:26Speaker 2: sure as hell ran the ball on USC.
- 31:30Speaker 1: And like I said, that kickoff return, it just felt
- 31:33Speaker 1: like they just couldn't quite get back. But let's talk
- 31:37Speaker 1: about those two games.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Okay, Hey, for Vandy, it really is amazing. I don't
- 31:46Speaker 3: even know if I'll talk about the game as much,
- 31:47Speaker 3: but like how one person can change like a clubhouse,
- 31:51Speaker 3: that fucking Diego Pavia man.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Like, I know we're in the baseball playoffs, but there's
- 31:57Speaker 2: no clubhouse.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Uh, you know, no dugout or nothing like that.
- 32:04Speaker 3: All right, Hey, that dude, that dude can change a program.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Because and obviously Clark Lee I think he's a great coach.
- 32:14Speaker 3: I think they have other people. But when that dude
- 32:16Speaker 3: came over there, like he's literally changed the whole just
- 32:19Speaker 3: the way they carry themselves. I mean, he flashed the
- 32:21Speaker 3: Heisman sign. He does a little crazy ship, but like
- 32:24Speaker 3: he just he enjoys playing football. But you can tell
- 32:27Speaker 3: the team feeds off of his energy and obviously does
- 32:30Speaker 3: help these good football but they're just they're they're good,
- 32:34Speaker 3: like Vanny, could legit make the playoffs this year? Are
- 32:36Speaker 3: they favored to do it? No? But could they? Yeah?
- 32:39Speaker 3: Because their only.
- 32:40Speaker 2: They got they got at they got a home game
- 32:42Speaker 2: of Miszoo, they got at Texas, they got home Auburn
- 32:47Speaker 2: home Kentucky and at Tennessee.
- 32:49Speaker 1: So they do have their work cut out for him
- 32:52Speaker 1: the next you know, two out of those, you know,
- 32:54Speaker 1: a couple of games.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Who knows about Texas.
- 32:56Speaker 3: But yeah, but it's just they've changed their whole mantra
- 33:01Speaker 3: because besides, before they beat Bama, the only time I
- 33:04Speaker 3: ever knew about Vandy was Jay Cutler was there and oh,
- 33:07Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers and the brother played there, you know, and
- 33:09Speaker 3: they don't like each other, Like that's.
- 33:11Speaker 2: All I knew because Franklin kind of got him out
- 33:13Speaker 2: of the.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Franklin built him up and they had a
- 33:17Speaker 3: little bit of a rough patch with that uh uh
- 33:21Speaker 3: picture his face again.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't remember, but yeah, it was.
- 33:24Speaker 3: It was bad and they were okay. But yeah, but
- 33:26Speaker 3: now it's just it's just crazy to see how one
- 33:28Speaker 3: quarterback and a coach can transform a program. And they've
- 33:31Speaker 3: done it because the fact that they just he win
- 33:33Speaker 3: these top tier games and Vandy's rank and they beat
- 33:36Speaker 3: LSU like holy shit. Uh so, hats off to Clark
- 33:40Speaker 3: Lee and Pavia. It's just there and they're a good
- 33:43Speaker 3: football team. Again, I gave them the moral victory speech
- 33:47Speaker 3: to you, and they played with Bama because yes, Bam
- 33:49Speaker 3: beat them, but in the trenches, they weren't getting owned.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Because that's realistically, if you watch college football or pro football,
- 33:55Speaker 3: high school football, any league, if you lose the line
- 33:58Speaker 3: of scrimmage at a different level that shows your team
- 34:00Speaker 3: is not really there to compete. You might have some
- 34:03Speaker 3: skilled players and flashy stars from touchdowns, but lion of
- 34:06Speaker 3: scrimmage is where a true team is determined. Bamba didn't
- 34:09Speaker 3: shove around, so I thought that was just like wow,
- 34:12Speaker 3: So hats off to Vandy and yeah for LSU again,
- 34:15Speaker 3: your playoff chances are still there, Chris, But dude, their offense.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I know that Kelly's been starky with reporters that way
- 34:21Speaker 3: you is ripping on my offense. We're doing okay, Dude,
- 34:25Speaker 3: you're not. Nuss Meyer was supposed to be the best
- 34:27Speaker 3: quarterback in the SEC this year, and I don't think
- 34:30Speaker 3: it's debatable now that Pavia has had a much better
- 34:32Speaker 3: year than him. I don't know what it is, but
- 34:35Speaker 3: I'm not saying it's all Nasmyer al Kelly. But their
- 34:37Speaker 3: offense in Moodro is just being wasted in a year
- 34:41Speaker 3: Chris where their defense is under one Adian has been
- 34:43Speaker 3: really one of the best top tier defenses in the league.
- 34:46Speaker 3: So again, LSU's got a huge game this weekend. They're
- 34:51Speaker 3: not out of it, but another loss, they it's starting
- 34:54Speaker 3: to get a little dicey for USC. Just another typical
- 34:59Speaker 3: game where your defense got pushed around and you got
- 35:04Speaker 3: out physical and it was bad. Notre Dame ran the
- 35:07Speaker 3: ball down their throats. I know the game to get
- 35:09Speaker 3: close in the second half. At times. I did think
- 35:13Speaker 3: there was some really shitty referee calls throughout the game.
- 35:17Speaker 3: I don't I don't say that often, and you can
- 35:19Speaker 3: fouch me on this.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I don't really agree. I agree. I watched the game.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I don't play the raft card much, but there's some
- 35:24Speaker 3: tough calls. But I do think they got punched in
- 35:26Speaker 3: the mouth. They weren't a physical enough team, and I
- 35:31Speaker 3: think Lincoln Ridley tried to get Q of some play calling,
- 35:34Speaker 3: So I would not give him a plus for play calls.
- 35:36Speaker 3: I would give him more like a B minus or
- 35:38Speaker 3: a C. I just thought the offense didn't have a
- 35:41Speaker 3: flow to it. There was one possession in the first
- 35:43Speaker 3: half where they tried kind of like a little fake
- 35:46Speaker 3: round played the right on third down, got stopped, so
- 35:48Speaker 3: he tried the same thing going left, and they got
- 35:49Speaker 3: stopped again on fourth, like and there was It's something
- 35:52Speaker 3: like they wanted to go lateral and sideways and sideways
- 35:55Speaker 3: to create offense and that wasn't working. So tough game
- 35:59Speaker 3: for tough game for the d line. A couple of
- 36:02Speaker 3: calls didn't help you and you lose. But as I
- 36:05Speaker 3: was just posting some random USC fans on Twitter, it's like,
- 36:09Speaker 3: it's so hard for USC to win games are not
- 36:11Speaker 3: supposed to But besides, you know, they normally win the
- 36:14Speaker 3: ones they should for the past ten years. But when
- 36:17Speaker 3: do we ever win games were not supposed to win?
- 36:19Speaker 3: I can count on one hand in the past ten
- 36:22Speaker 3: years we've done that since the Penn State Rose Bull win.
- 36:24Speaker 3: That was the biggest one we've had as a program
- 36:26Speaker 3: in the past ten years. So it sucks. But yeah, yeah,
- 36:30Speaker 3: I'll stop there.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Who won that Rose Bowl?
- 36:33Speaker 3: By the way, that was the last big win we've had.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I would call his USC fans when they beat Penn
- 36:39Speaker 3: State almost ten years ago out because that was freaking
- 36:41Speaker 3: Sam Darnold.
- 36:43Speaker 2: But who is the coach?
- 36:45Speaker 3: Oh, Clay Hilton.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Oh okay, that's right, that's right, I remember, I remember
- 36:49Speaker 2: that guy.
- 36:51Speaker 1: But so the last big game they won was a
- 36:57Speaker 1: guy that you were trying to run out of town.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Now, goody, here's the biggest thing they obviously the Irish
- 37:06Speaker 2: right now are running the ball at a high rate,
- 37:08Speaker 2: and they.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Did beat him up that way. Yes, Now do I
- 37:11Speaker 1: think they were punching back?
- 37:13Speaker 2: I do.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I do think they punched back. I think that if
- 37:15Speaker 1: they had that Jordan running back who can break tackles
- 37:18Speaker 1: and juke people and make some shit happen, I think
- 37:21Speaker 1: they would have been able to hold the ball better
- 37:23Speaker 1: because he can't just have it just felt like like
- 37:27Speaker 1: that Miller's a nice story, you know what I mean,
- 37:29Speaker 1: But he's just kind of like, oh, there's a whole
- 37:32Speaker 1: cool let's run through it. You know, he's not crazy
- 37:34Speaker 1: like Jordan is.
- 37:35Speaker 2: He didn't. Obviously their top two backs that don't have
- 37:38Speaker 2: but the two things. The only bad.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Play I thought that the quarterback made was that pick
- 37:46Speaker 1: right before the end of the third And.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Then, although I agree with what you're saying about.
- 37:54Speaker 1: The play call where it was the opposite field, same
- 37:56Speaker 1: play that that was a good call and I felt
- 37:59Speaker 1: the same way. But the play where they put it
- 38:04Speaker 1: in the wide receiver's hands, now.
- 38:08Speaker 2: You can debate that that's a bad call.
- 38:11Speaker 1: That's fair, but he's not coached to do what the
- 38:14Speaker 1: fuck he did, Like there's there's just no excuse for
- 38:18Speaker 1: the for a player to do what he did. It's like, okay,
- 38:22Speaker 1: it's not you know, they coach and say if it's
- 38:24Speaker 1: not there, throw the fucking ball away or run on
- 38:27Speaker 1: a bounce or something, and he did neither of that.
- 38:30Speaker 1: He just sat there and then he's like, oh, I'm
- 38:32Speaker 1: gonna juke this one guy. And he's not even holding
- 38:35Speaker 1: he's holding the ball like he's gonna still throw it.
- 38:37Speaker 2: It was like, what are you doing, dude?
- 38:39Speaker 1: You know, so I put that on the player more
- 38:42Speaker 1: than I do the coach in that scenario, but the
- 38:46Speaker 1: same play opposite sides. That is a great call because
- 38:49Speaker 1: I thought that that didn't work.
- 38:51Speaker 2: And CJ. Carr kind of came back down to earth
- 38:54Speaker 2: in this one. If it wasn't for the running game,
- 38:56Speaker 2: because he had a horrible he had a couple throws
- 38:59Speaker 2: that were like, well, dude, you haven't been doing this
- 39:01Speaker 2: sixteen to twenty six. So you guys did your job there.
- 39:04Speaker 2: But yeah, the.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Run.
- 39:08Speaker 1: The run was just too tough and you can't have
- 39:10Speaker 1: those two turnovers when you're trying to get back. But honestly,
- 39:13Speaker 1: that kick, that hundred yard kickoff return right right when
- 39:16Speaker 1: they took the lead, you know, USC takes the lead,
- 39:19Speaker 1: Boom they get it right back, and it's just like
- 39:22Speaker 1: they just couldn't quite bounce back from that. So they're
- 39:26Speaker 1: a young team, we know that, but they, like you said,
- 39:29Speaker 1: they have to pull an upset that they're not supposed
- 39:33Speaker 1: to because then that does give you that ultimate confidence.
- 39:37Speaker 1: You could close strong this year and really come in
- 39:39Speaker 1: the next year with the head of steam. But until
- 39:42Speaker 1: you do that, you know the confidence level, the we
- 39:47Speaker 1: can do it type thing, it gets a little funky.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Did you have something else to say? Or no?
- 39:54Speaker 1: No, okay, Georgia Chech scores seventeen in the fourth kind
- 40:00Speaker 1: of pull away. It was a close game, you know
- 40:04Speaker 1: they did they just they keep winning twenty seven to eighteen.
- 40:10Speaker 1: They don't have like that many quality wins this year.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Duke solid though they were undefeeding. The ACC felt like
- 40:18Speaker 1: everybody there for a second was there's like five six
- 40:21Speaker 1: teams that were at least now there's probably like six
- 40:23Speaker 1: or seven that are one loss too, but they keep going.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Oklahoma bounced back and did at least secure a nice
- 40:31Speaker 1: win by you beat Utah twenty four to twenty one.
- 40:37Speaker 1: They're still unbeating. They got a big game coming up.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Let's talk about that freaking overtime as Zoo Auburn. Dude,
- 40:45Speaker 1: I feel so bad for Auburn. How many tight games
- 40:49Speaker 1: can you have? I mean another one Texas they needed
- 40:52Speaker 1: two long punk returns just to try to get some
- 40:56Speaker 1: I mean they they're struggling, dude. They whenever you got
- 41:01Speaker 1: like a red shirt freshman going off and that's what
- 41:04Speaker 1: we're talking about at quarterback, that bullied kid, he was
- 41:07Speaker 1: going off. But those two games, like those three games
- 41:12Speaker 1: Utah BYU, Missouri Auburn, and and Texas Kentucky. I know
- 41:18Speaker 1: Kentucky can be a heart out once in a while,
- 41:22Speaker 1: but it just doesn't seem like it's been that way
- 41:24Speaker 1: this year as much as it has been in years past.
- 41:27Speaker 1: But dude, Texas just cannot It's just crazy. I still
- 41:33Speaker 1: can't believe how bad they are on offense.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Hey, the Holy War was close as we predicted
- 41:38Speaker 3: as usual. That really is a great rivalry that doesn't
- 41:41Speaker 3: get as much coverage just because it's a Utah ravalry.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Hey b Yu again, dude, they're in the fight. They're
- 41:47Speaker 3: gonna be contending for that Big Twelve title for sure.
- 41:50Speaker 3: They're They're honestly there. Their football and basketball program are
- 41:54Speaker 3: really damn good for you know, the kind of limited
- 41:56Speaker 3: recruiting ability they have, so hats off to them their basketball.
- 42:00Speaker 1: They got their own red shirt stash players though, remember
- 42:04Speaker 1: they got that built in red shirt here, or they get.
- 42:08Speaker 3: On their missions they start playing college ball at twenty three,
- 42:11Speaker 3: you know. But hey, that's that's there. There they'll be.
- 42:15Speaker 3: They'll be heard from in the Big Twelve this year.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Hey for Miszoo, it wasn't pretty. I think that the
- 42:24Speaker 3: offense was really kind of just run into a brick wall.
- 42:27Speaker 3: But that's a compliment more so to Auburn's defense than
- 42:31Speaker 3: Missouri's offense. I would say Perbula made a couple of
- 42:33Speaker 3: plays here and there, but Missoo's defense, they didn't nothing.
- 42:37Speaker 3: They else got a little bit lucky Auburn had Auburn.
- 42:40Speaker 3: When Auburn had the lead, their stud wide receiver dropped.
- 42:43Speaker 3: It would have been probably a fifty yard could have
- 42:45Speaker 3: been touchdown pass. The next play got picked later in
- 42:49Speaker 3: the game, got uh Arnold hits the guy in the hands,
- 42:52Speaker 3: gets picked. So as a Missoo fan, I'm happy they won.
- 42:57Speaker 3: They they kind of they kind of snuck out the door.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Missouri's the it's almost a lot of fifty yard bumped
- 43:01Speaker 3: end of the game, which could have snuck in for
- 43:03Speaker 3: an Auburn wins. So for a various amount of ways,
- 43:06Speaker 3: Auburn just keeps finding creative ways to lose. As you said,
- 43:09Speaker 3: Chris uh Miszoo was one of my tough beats. If
- 43:12Speaker 3: they would have made that two point conversion to win,
- 43:14Speaker 3: in doubt, I'd be much happier manner now. But that's
- 43:17Speaker 3: not the case. So but hey, they got up and
- 43:21Speaker 3: and then he said, dude, Texas, like, I know that
- 43:24Speaker 3: last week in the rivalry game, arch Man looked good.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Did he At one point in this game he was
- 43:29Speaker 3: like thirteen for twenty seven or something at like for
- 43:32Speaker 3: a buck twenty like that, Dude, I know you showed
- 43:35Speaker 3: out VERSUSR rival. But he I mean, he played okay,
- 43:39Speaker 3: but it wasn't like what for his standards, that was
- 43:43Speaker 3: probably his best game of the year, which is insane. Way,
- 43:45Speaker 3: but you go back and look and it's really not that.
- 43:48Speaker 3: You know, it's nothing to write home about. So yeah,
- 43:50Speaker 3: I saw some quotes from Sark. He said talking about
- 43:55Speaker 3: giving up the play calling duties. He said, that's why
- 43:57Speaker 3: I got hired. I was a really good offensive coordinator.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Always going to tap in the strengths that I have,
- 44:02Speaker 2: and I think being a play caller on offense is
- 44:04Speaker 2: one of my strengths.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Some may agree that's okay. I'm not saying he should
- 44:09Speaker 1: put down the headphones, but you know, we have seen
- 44:13Speaker 1: that where there's times I can think of like coach
- 44:17Speaker 1: Zimmer for the Vikings, that there are some times where
- 44:20Speaker 1: you're like.
- 44:22Speaker 2: The former god.
- 44:25Speaker 1: What's his name, Fisher Jimbo, you know when he should
- 44:30Speaker 1: have put down the mic.
- 44:32Speaker 3: You know.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Basically, I don't. I don't think that's the ultimately what
- 44:37Speaker 1: what's wrong? I just I just think Manning is limited basically.
- 44:42Speaker 3: I agree, Yeah, I mean they're win but if they
- 44:49Speaker 3: have one more slip up there there there, they're dreams
- 44:51Speaker 3: that making the playoffs are probably out the door. So
- 44:53Speaker 3: I will say it does seem like especially in the SEC,
- 44:57Speaker 3: the Big twelve at AC for sure, I think there's
- 45:00Speaker 3: a lot of teams around the field they have a
- 45:01Speaker 3: chance to make the playoffs, but one more loss in
- 45:04Speaker 3: you you're cooked. So it is that weird time of
- 45:07Speaker 3: the year Christian Normally, right now I feel we have
- 45:09Speaker 3: like six or seven teams are like, okay, these are
- 45:11Speaker 3: really good teams and also kind of a tier below.
- 45:14Speaker 3: I feel it kind of is a cluster in all
- 45:16Speaker 3: through those conferences of hey, six teams think they have
- 45:20Speaker 3: a chance of all making the playoffs from six from
- 45:21Speaker 3: the SEC, six from the Big ten or you know,
- 45:24Speaker 3: every conference kind of like glued all together, which will
- 45:27Speaker 3: make that, like you said, the next six weeks a
- 45:28Speaker 3: lot of fun. We're normally not quite congested like this,
- 45:31Speaker 3: so hoorah. And a team that was having a chance
- 45:34Speaker 3: to make it and then they just completely tripped over
- 45:37Speaker 3: their own two feet and then bust their own head.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Guy concussion. That's Memphis. I love my guy Verno in
- 45:42Speaker 3: his show on the show, but I haven't listened yet.
- 45:44Speaker 3: He's got to be depressed.
- 45:45Speaker 2: The Memphis half played favorites or something like that.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Yeah, twenty four and a half. They were looking forward
- 45:51Speaker 3: to hopefully hosting game day next week. When South Florida
- 45:54Speaker 3: came into town, they got a little cocky. You may
- 45:56Speaker 3: be at a new interim coach and you lose it,
- 46:01Speaker 3: and you lose the twenty four point favorite. Now the
- 46:03Speaker 3: heartbreaker of it was, yes he lost be you were
- 46:06Speaker 3: on the one yard line and the last three plays.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Again he got some penalties and he lost, and he
- 46:11Speaker 3: lost in that heartbreaking fashion. So to be on the
- 46:14Speaker 3: one out it is like a couple of false starts
- 46:16Speaker 3: or some dumb penalties. Man, that that's a tough way
- 46:19Speaker 3: to lose. Now you don't get game day, your playoff
- 46:21Speaker 3: chances are ninety eight percent done. Who knows what kind
- 46:26Speaker 3: of mood you'll be in for South Florida, who they're
- 46:28Speaker 3: still looking now, is a really good chance to make
- 46:30Speaker 3: the to be the top tier team that is not
- 46:33Speaker 3: in the Power four conferences to go to the playoffs.
- 46:35Speaker 3: So a tough one for Memphis. They were having a
- 46:37Speaker 3: good year, but you can't stop up as a twenty
- 46:40Speaker 3: four point favorite. You just can't do it. It's an
- 46:42Speaker 3: excusable I know we've had the UCLA head coaching story,
- 46:45Speaker 3: which is great. You had b Mortensen, that former ESPN
- 46:49Speaker 3: reporter rest in piece. His son came and took over
- 46:51Speaker 3: for his first job. Great win, and that's why we
- 46:53Speaker 3: love college football. But you can't have that mistake from
- 46:56Speaker 3: Memphis for their high powered offense. That was a huge letdown.
- 47:00Speaker 3: And that's that's why they play college sports.
- 47:02Speaker 1: My friend, that's right, That is definitely right. So A
- 47:07Speaker 1: and M shootout against razorbatch forty five forty two. They've
- 47:11Speaker 1: lost a couple of close ones. Now they're a dangerous team.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Florida got rid of Apier, but they did beat Mississippi State,
- 47:22Speaker 1: so we ended on a run. SMU outlast Clemson thirty
- 47:26Speaker 1: five to twenty four. That dropped majorly. I had a
- 47:29Speaker 1: plus seven and a half, but all of a sudden.
- 47:33Speaker 2: When we you know, when it was like, oh wait,
- 47:35Speaker 2: maybe what's his toes at quarterbacks?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Not gonna start? It dropped way down. Houston beat Zona
- 47:41Speaker 1: thirty one to twenty eight. FSU is still looking for
- 47:46Speaker 1: an acc win. They go down to Stanford, Iowa somehow
- 47:52Speaker 1: just does the Iowa thing, wins twenty in Penn State
- 47:57Speaker 1: this year, does the Penn State thing. They somehow lose
- 48:00Speaker 1: this game twenty five to twenty four. That was pretty crazy.
- 48:04Speaker 1: UCLA three wins in a row now shouts out to them.
- 48:08Speaker 1: And then Michigan beats Washington. I had plus six and
- 48:11Speaker 1: a half for Washington. I thought they could maybe pull
- 48:15Speaker 1: an upset, but they looked better.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Man. I was pretty surprised.
- 48:19Speaker 1: They finally get the tight ends involved and they they
- 48:25Speaker 1: actually shut down a lot of that that high I mean,
- 48:29Speaker 1: I think it's like a top ten offense for Washington,
- 48:32Speaker 1: so I was kind of surprised.
- 48:33Speaker 2: That they were able to do that.
- 48:36Speaker 1: TCU outlasted Baylor a couple other good games, but man,
- 48:42Speaker 1: what a great, great week of college football.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Man.
- 48:47Speaker 3: My only one note to wrap up this week is
- 48:49Speaker 3: that I really don't think Napier should be fired like that.
- 48:54Speaker 3: You had the hardest scheduled two years that are in
- 48:56Speaker 3: the country like I don't, and his team actually was
- 48:59Speaker 3: playing pretty good this year. That's when I don't get Chris.
- 49:03Speaker 3: I'm also got a breakdown for like five minutes. But
- 49:06Speaker 3: what more could have he done with the schedule he had?
- 49:09Speaker 3: Or or is literally anyone in his shoes getting fired? Yeah?
- 49:15Speaker 1: I mean yeah, the last two years they've had a
- 49:18Speaker 1: really tough schedule, and they did turn it around last year.
- 49:22Speaker 2: But I just I think I think Lagway hurt in
- 49:25Speaker 2: the offseason messed with them. You could tell they didn't
- 49:28Speaker 2: have rhythm. But yeah, I don't know. I mean, you
- 49:31Speaker 2: could also say that the guy before him shouldn't have
- 49:35Speaker 2: been They're gonna be when they get a new coach,
- 49:37Speaker 2: they're gonna be paying three people, true, So should they
- 49:42Speaker 2: have fired the last guy. You know, I don't think so,
- 49:45Speaker 2: but you know, Mullen had that thing pumping, So I
- 49:48Speaker 2: don't know, but yeah, I hear you. I definitely hear you.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I think that.
- 49:56Speaker 1: You can be patient to a point you obviously at
- 49:59Speaker 1: some point have to be like, nah, it's not gonna happen.
- 50:02Speaker 1: And even though I say I would have let like,
- 50:06Speaker 1: for instance, Franklin play Ohio State in the Indie and
- 50:09Speaker 1: then maybe a week before the season was over, firing them.
- 50:14Speaker 1: And if you lose to both of them, yeah, then
- 50:16Speaker 1: I'd say, Okay, he had a hell of a run
- 50:18Speaker 1: and didn't get you over the top. They feel like
- 50:20Speaker 1: they can get over the top. So and obviously this
- 50:23Speaker 1: was a disappointing year. Clearly they're way underachieved. But I
- 50:28Speaker 1: just think, I don't know, like I can't recall a time,
- 50:32Speaker 1: and I keep hearing like people that have been following
- 50:35Speaker 1: the sport for a while say this the last couple
- 50:37Speaker 1: of weeks, like we're not even in November and this
- 50:40Speaker 1: many people are fired. It's crazy, And there's a lot
- 50:44Speaker 1: of these guarantees going around and I don't know, speaking
- 50:49Speaker 1: of though Indiana, even though he just signed an extension
- 50:53Speaker 1: last year. He now got a new extension and it's
- 50:58Speaker 1: fully guaranteed ninety three mill. He said he wants to
- 51:01Speaker 1: retire there, and I believe him because he's like sixty
- 51:04Speaker 1: five or whatever. So yeah, I do think so that's
- 51:07Speaker 1: cool for Indy. But yeah, man, I think that Harbaugh
- 51:10Speaker 1: and Day are like perfect examples of how many people
- 51:14Speaker 1: called for their heads, you know, and it's like, okay, dude,
- 51:18Speaker 1: but you know, even people when Smart couldn't get over
- 51:21Speaker 1: the hump of winning the championship when they went in
- 51:24Speaker 1: like double overtime that one time, like it's like they
- 51:28Speaker 1: were called for his head. It was like, really, dude,
- 51:31Speaker 1: like hold on, like give it some time. And I
- 51:35Speaker 1: just think we're too quick to pull the trigger now.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I mean, I get there's more investment now financially, sure,
- 51:42Speaker 1: so I get that part, But you're also gonna just
- 51:44Speaker 1: create all this debt. Like I said, Florida's gonna when
- 51:47Speaker 1: they get a new coach, they're gonna be paying three coaches.
- 51:49Speaker 4: You know.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it just makes no fucking sense. So yeah, well
- 51:54Speaker 1: we'll see. Uh, let's get in to this week. We
- 51:59Speaker 1: have nine number eight Old miss at number thirteen Oklahoma.
- 52:04Speaker 1: We have a and m going to LSU. We have
- 52:06Speaker 1: Van Dey Maszoo's. We have Old Miss at Oklahoma, all right,
- 52:11Speaker 1: he said that got a couple other games that we'll
- 52:14Speaker 1: talk about. But Old Miss in Oklahoma, Oklahoma, you know,
- 52:18Speaker 1: was able to come back and look pretty good in
- 52:21Speaker 1: their their game against a team that's struggling this year.
- 52:26Speaker 1: And then Old Miss. You know, okay, so you got
- 52:28Speaker 1: your first loss. You played a hell of a game.
- 52:32Speaker 1: It is what it is. Oklahoma doesn't really run the
- 52:38Speaker 1: ball that well, so you could say, well, they gave up.
- 52:42Speaker 1: You know, they give up. Old Miss gives up one
- 52:44Speaker 1: hundred and sixty seven rushing yards a game. But if
- 52:48Speaker 1: you can't run the ball well, then it doesn't matter.
- 52:52Speaker 1: And so that's what I think this this thing comes
- 52:55Speaker 1: down to. Because we know the quarterback is gonna play.
- 52:58Speaker 1: He's pretty good, right he was low Rusty Matier, but
- 53:03Speaker 1: you know he's gonna come back, and they get after
- 53:06Speaker 1: I mean, they're eleven sacks in the fourth quarter are
- 53:09Speaker 1: the most in NFL or NCAA football right now, and
- 53:13Speaker 1: also thirty three quarterback hits overall are the fourth most.
- 53:19Speaker 1: So they get after it. They're gonna keep them in
- 53:22Speaker 1: the game. Obviously, So, yeah, who's gonna win. It's basically
- 53:26Speaker 1: like what offense can do? You know, can Oklahoma put
- 53:29Speaker 1: up some points enough? Or will the Old mess defense
- 53:33Speaker 1: kind of mess with them? Because I think Old Miss
- 53:36Speaker 1: is gonna be able to score somewhat. I don't think
- 53:38Speaker 1: they're gonna put their average in thirty seven. I don't
- 53:40Speaker 1: think they're thirty seven. I think they'll be in the
- 53:43Speaker 1: twenty somewhere. It's just a matter of which weakness will
- 53:47Speaker 1: be somewhat of a strength when push comes to shove.
- 53:51Speaker 1: How do you see this one play out?
- 53:53Speaker 3: I'm torn, man, because I haven't watched both these teams
- 53:56Speaker 3: play quite a bit. Obviously, my allegiance goes to lain I.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I'm with you. Obviously the stronger side of the ball
- 54:03Speaker 3: for both teams is Old Missus offense versus Oklahoma's defense.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Sh I I think I gotta give a slight edge
- 54:14Speaker 3: to Old Miss just because, yeah, what what is Oklahoma's offense? Maybe?
- 54:21Speaker 3: O f what is Oklahoma's offense done this year? Chris
- 54:23Speaker 3: to impress you, you want to get versus Auburn. Versus
- 54:28Speaker 3: Auburn where the where the calls were questionable? You beat Michigan,
- 54:33Speaker 3: but at this point right now, for a top tier win,
- 54:35Speaker 3: what does that really say about you versus Texas's defense?
- 54:39Speaker 3: Who I know Texas has better defense, will Miss Texas
- 54:42Speaker 3: they didn't do shit versus text On offense. I know,
- 54:44Speaker 3: materiers maybe a bit banged up, but yeah, I just
- 54:47Speaker 3: I think that Old miss now again, will they get
- 54:49Speaker 3: Are they gonna drop forty? Hell though, if they if
- 54:52Speaker 3: they drop forty on Oklahoma, hey that's tip the captain lane.
- 54:55Speaker 3: I don't think they will, but yeah, that Oklahoma offense
- 54:58Speaker 3: hasn't quite done enough. And I know that Old Misses
- 55:01Speaker 3: defense look pretty scary versus Georgia, but just in the
- 55:04Speaker 3: battle of pros and cons, I'm gonna give Oklahoma the edge,
- 55:07Speaker 3: all right, Sorry, Old miss the edge. I know it's
- 55:09Speaker 3: in Ou, but yeah, I just yeah, Oklahoma's offense has
- 55:14Speaker 3: to do a little more for me. And when I
- 55:16Speaker 3: went to that game, seem in the State Fair, you're
- 55:18Speaker 3: at Chris, they can run the ball to save their life,
- 55:20Speaker 3: and that that becomes more a factor because instead of
- 55:23Speaker 3: having it. I know we're like little football talk here,
- 55:25Speaker 3: but like third and three and third and seven is
- 55:28Speaker 3: a huge difference. It changed your playbook and Matier is
- 55:31Speaker 3: a good running quarterback em the agile, but again, running
- 55:35Speaker 3: for three hours, running for seven is a massive change.
- 55:37Speaker 3: So I think Ole Miss bounces back. I think Lang
- 55:40Speaker 3: gets to win. I'll take him to win. Oklahoma's a
- 55:44Speaker 3: decent home field. I wouldn't say it's death Vale, but
- 55:46Speaker 3: it's okay. Yeah, I think they'll get the job done.
- 55:49Speaker 3: And if you're oh, you you got you still got
- 55:53Speaker 3: to go to Tuscaloosa and to Kneeland. Uh so, hey,
- 55:58Speaker 3: you want to South Carolina that shop, but you still
- 56:00Speaker 3: have some hard games left. So if you do want
- 56:02Speaker 3: to have an outside chance of making the playoff, you
- 56:04Speaker 3: gotta win this one because winning at Bama this year
- 56:07Speaker 3: is gonna be hard, and Tennessee is that can be easy?
- 56:10Speaker 1: Yeah, And just off of another stat that stands out
- 56:14Speaker 1: Oklahoma only giving up eighty yards rushing per game.
- 56:17Speaker 2: That's really impressive. Old Miss averages a buck eighty eight though,
- 56:20Speaker 2: So even if they hit like one thirty, sure that
- 56:24Speaker 2: might that might do it.
- 56:25Speaker 1: I got Old Miss too, at least the plus number.
- 56:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna pick them, though. I am eyeball and that
- 56:30Speaker 1: I may buy a little maybe six and a half
- 56:33Speaker 1: or something, but I do I'm gonna I'm gonna go
- 56:36Speaker 1: with them too.
- 56:36Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with old miss So I'm on your side.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I think that we know Michigan's not what they were
- 56:43Speaker 1: two three years ago, and Michigan had chances to win
- 56:47Speaker 1: that game. Same with Auburn you mentioned, so I think finally,
- 56:53Speaker 1: you know they'll overcome it. And you know, coming off
- 56:56Speaker 1: that big loss, they were they were game. You know,
- 57:00Speaker 1: George is not a great defense by any stretch anymore,
- 57:03Speaker 1: but yeah, I like him to win as well. All right,
- 57:07Speaker 1: Number ten Vandy hosting Number fifteen Missouri. Obviously, they both
- 57:15Speaker 1: lost to Bama. That's their only losses. Though, the first
- 57:19Speaker 1: time since nineteen fifty they were six and one, and
- 57:26Speaker 1: the first time they beat LSU. Talking about Vandy was
- 57:31Speaker 1: nineteen ninety. They're Bowl eligible for the first time back
- 57:38Speaker 1: to back years since Franklin was there. This thing's been
- 57:43Speaker 1: really fun to watch, just crazy weird stats where you're like, wow,
- 57:48Speaker 1: it's been that long. There's some other stat like they
- 57:51Speaker 1: beat a I can't remember, Oh, I think the last
- 57:54Speaker 1: time they beat a top fifteen team was like nineteen
- 57:56Speaker 1: forty four, something like that. You know, it's just crazy,
- 58:01Speaker 1: but here they are. Both teams do a pretty good
- 58:03Speaker 1: job of stopping the run. Both of them are under
- 58:05Speaker 1: one hundred, which is pretty good. Ninety two for Vandy,
- 58:08Speaker 1: eighty four form Zoo. Both of them run the you
- 58:12Speaker 1: know what out of the ball too.
- 58:17Speaker 2: Do you know like now they're not, well technically they were.
- 58:24Speaker 2: They weren't. They were the favorite last last week too,
- 58:27Speaker 2: so they've kind of gotten over that.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Well, they'll play great as an underdog, kind of like
- 58:32Speaker 1: Jergia Tech last year, where they'll play great as an underdog,
- 58:35Speaker 1: but then when their favorite, it's not so much Bandy
- 58:37Speaker 1: This year, you know, has shown that they are different.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Like you said.
- 58:43Speaker 1: And hopefully Diego because hopefully he gets one more year
- 58:46Speaker 1: because I didn't he go to JUCO for two years. Yeah,
- 58:50Speaker 1: I believe so, Yes, So I think you'll win that
- 58:52Speaker 1: because if if JUCO doesn't have any to do with
- 58:56Speaker 1: the NCUBLA, then it shouldn't have anything to do with
- 58:58Speaker 1: it should be like you know, like we talked about
- 59:00Speaker 1: the juniors.
- 59:01Speaker 2: You know, it should be like the juniors that doesn't
- 59:03Speaker 2: have any do with the NCLA for hockey and those
- 59:06Speaker 2: you can go there and then you know, have four
- 59:08Speaker 2: years of eligibility so probably five, maybe with the red shirt,
- 59:12Speaker 2: I don't know, but hopefully Diego comes back.
- 59:15Speaker 1: But it's hard to go against Diego. And also I
- 59:20Speaker 1: just think that like Hardy's a stud, they got real
- 59:25Speaker 1: deal talent at Massoo.
- 59:26Speaker 2: But if.
- 59:29Speaker 1: You know, if they get behind, I just don't believe
- 59:32Speaker 1: in that quarterback to pass, well, you know what I mean,
- 59:38Speaker 1: I just don't. I just don't believe it. So I'm
- 59:40Speaker 1: gonna go Vandy at home. It's only two and a
- 59:43Speaker 1: half points though, so it's a picking game. But both
- 59:45Speaker 1: of these teams that they win this, especially Miszoo because
- 59:48Speaker 1: Vandy still has some tougher games I think, but both
- 59:51Speaker 1: of them will be in prime position, not just the
- 59:54Speaker 1: NCC but for the playoffs.
- 59:55Speaker 3: Really yeah, I'm obviously my elite has been with Miszoo
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: for about twenty years, Vanny maybe two. But I do
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: think Vanny's just a better team. I think that a
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: lot of people keep using these vanderbuilt or Missoo's stats, Chris,
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: but they're fabricated because they had six games in a
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: row at home, and a lot of those reverse some
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: weaker opponents. So because in their last two games, when
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Missoo played Alabama and Missoo played Auburn like their run
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: game really has died off. But if you listen to
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Missouri coverage in the first five weeks, it's like, oh dude,
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: we run the ball at a massive clip. It's so good,
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: so good, so good. I think sometimes in cult football
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: you do kind of fall to the numbers because hey, okay,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: Miszoo has these great stats, but look who they played,
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: and now that you're again punched them out a little
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: bit by some top tier levels. I'm not saying that
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Missoo deserve to be ranked. I know I'm not the
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: fan of their coach, but I mean, they're a good
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: team this year, but I think they really did kind
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: of cake some stats up really good and now like,
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: oh dude, Zoo's ground games insane. Well, you couldn't ship
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: for sovereign and it where's Bama, Bama? You Bamy? You
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: played good? You did you? You went back and forth.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: I'm not saying they were they're embarrassed, but they lost.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: So I think they're just coming down to earth a
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: little bit more. And but I just think Bandy at
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Home is a different beast, and they're riding an emotional
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: way for the last year and I don't see them
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: stopping either, So I'll take Anchor down. I'll take Vandy
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: to win. I know we're two for two on picks
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: so far in the same line line so far in
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: the show. But yeah, I think I think Vandy wins
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: this one. And hey that and if you're Miszoo, you
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: gotta run. If you lose this, you gotta run the
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: table because you have an easy schedule. You don't get
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: a lot of the tough SEC games. This was kind
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: of your year. So if you have two losses now,
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: you better you better went out, which because this is
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: a gold chance because next year you might get like
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: a a Miami or sorry, like a Florida schedule. Then
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: you're gonna be praying to God like what just happened?
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and m at night at LSU, you can tell
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: that they're you know that Vegas is like, hey, just
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: be careful with this one.
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: You know, you careful with this one because as we know,
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: this is a tough, tough setting and they've had some
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: close games and they better be careful not to get.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Caught up here.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: Ls one bad.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Yes, and when you put a desperate animal like a
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: tiger in the corner and then let it rain, you
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: let it out the cage, and it's in It's in
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: its own backyard, in its own jungle or whatever you
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: want to say.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: It can run wild.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: And this is a weird one now in this Fox
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Fax things that they have on on Fox sports dot com,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: the Leggies have ten sacks in the fourth quarter, which
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: is the second most in this football That could come
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: in handy, right. We know LSU struggles. They also don't lose.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: They haven't lost the fumble period, which leads d one.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: The Tigers have four fumbles that they've lost in the
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: red zone.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: This year already.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Now things can happen. Like I said, A and m
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: has been snaken by. I like that they've won the
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: low scoring games. I like that they've won the high
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: scoring games.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: But they haven't put games away per se. And we
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: saw that with Miami at times. Yeah, they put South
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Florida away, but the other two tough games they didn't.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: You know, they didn't. So it was Florida's Bowl.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: They put Florida away pretty much, but Florida State they didn't.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: In Notre Dame they didn't. So that's the only thing.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Like I think Reid in company can hold the ball
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: and have those long drives because they almost averaged two
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: hundred yards in rushing. But you know that two and
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: a half right away, I thought, you know what, A
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: and M. That's gonna be a favorite this week, much
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: like the two and a.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Half of Vandy. I'm planning, I'm betting on that, but
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: I'm kinda I don't know. I'm still up in the.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Air on this because if A and M had they're
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: seven to zero and that's phenomenal. But they've been squeaking
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: by a bit and LSU is kind of due for
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: positive things that it could be just a weird thing
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: that just bounces their way.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: So I'm I'm kinda kind of being a bit when
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: it comes to picking this. I'm gonna pass it off
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: to you and figure it out.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Well, I'm not gonna give you much time, sir. Sorry,
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: as you sit in the water.
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: Hey, it's death, no stupid because I know I know
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: where you're picking. Hey, Death Bellay at night, must win
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: LSU pick. Their offense has been trash this year. I
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: know it's been ugly, but this must win game for
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: the LSU fans.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: They have all day to tail again and either you know,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Cajun you know, we're gumba l put in a pot
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: and with a lot of alcohol. But man, let's feel
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: how to drink. And they're good hearted people. I love
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: caguing people. Hey, you win period. Now. It is a
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: m better football team for sure, But l SU at
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Knight is a different beast. So I'm not even gonna
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: think about it.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Wow, we usually don't side like this and I and
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: like I said, I'm I'm I'm looking at that eggs.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: I might just go money line. I don't know, but
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: the fact that I drew it out that long tells
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: you that I'm probably gonna pick LSU too.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: So we're really lined up here in these games. It's
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: kind of funny how that works. But yeah, it's just tough.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: It's just it. This is called you have a letdown.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: You've snuck by a couple of times, yea, and just
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: something's gotta go positive for l SU.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: What's on point? So yeah, I'm with you there.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I actually we're on the same side there by you
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: at Iowa State and then us F excuse me, USF
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: at Memphis.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: I like USF just because I.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Think they're stronger. I think they're a better, better overall team.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: It may take a while.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Once they get the ball ball rolling downhill, though, I
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: think they'll just outscore them. But I look for it
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: to be a nice, you know, a good game, So
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: I will take that. I may take the four and
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: a half. I'm not sure.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I could see Memphis though, over performing and being pissed off.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: But I like South Florida and that what what says
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: you in that game? And also b YU at Iowa State?
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Iowa States banged up. They are banged up, but they
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: let's see what they can get back healthy this you know,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: this week they've they've lost what to in a row?
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Or did they finally?
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: So but you know, did they have a bye.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: Yeah? They had a buy Yeah?
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Yeah right, but they had a buy so they they
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: do get to scout this team more.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: What says you in this game?
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Man?
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: This one's a tough one.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: All right? So for the yeah, I'm gonna take. I'm
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: actually a take Iowa State because of them at ain't
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I think that the b YU coming off the Holy
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: War is like a really really huge drivelry game, and
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: I think they slip up on this one. I know
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: that I've kind of been not the biggest fan of
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: the rock Gobeck the I would say quarterback by I
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: think it aims they have a sneaky good home field.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: It's not quite Kinnick and I ain't Death Valley, but
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: it's good. So I will take I'll take Iowa State
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: to win home because they do that ship a lot
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: in big games. That's something they're great at.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we're right on the same page, dude, that's funny.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: And the other one speing of coaches, and again, hey
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: for Ryan Silverfield, the Memphis guy, I don't. I don't
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: think a coach, Dude, You're you're in a hard spot. Man.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: Your team literally just blew the game, and I don't
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: see how you pull back like these college kids for
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: a game like this because your twenty four point favorite
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: game that is gonna be in town. We still have
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: a chance to go to the Bowl playoff series. And
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: then you lose one, like, yes, obviously the players will regroup. Yes,
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: for all humans, he can bounce back, But I don't.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: If they win that game, I'd be super impressed. I
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: think that would be a true coaching win to get
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: your guys to regroup mentally because they clearly look overlooked
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: you a b and then you just get punched in
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: the mouth. It's like, now, are they gonna come out
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: and play stre I don't think they get right out
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: of the gym. But I can't pick Memphis with coming
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: out that lost. I just I just think that's two
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: bunch of a mental hurdle to overcome.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fair.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I got Iowa stay too. That's funny just because of
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: like the stuff you said. It's just it's just this
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: shit happens.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Dude.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: They're at home, they need to win. They've had a
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: week off. Maybe they'll get a little healthier, but just
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: scheming up. He just he just finds a way to
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: win these games, you know. And Dyu hasn't really. They
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: beat Utah, I give him credit there, but overall they
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: haven't really. They played some okay teams, but nothing. You know,
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: I think they're kind of due for a loss. But
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: they made it what nine and oh last year. They
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: made it quite a while last year. I think we
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: kind of forget that they made it a run last year.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: So we'll see some.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Other games, you know. Washington kind of looking at that
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: plus number for Illinois Houston at a s U.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: That could be interesting. Houston's been in some close games
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: of late Auburn versus Arkansas. Another one, dude, Arkansas two
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: and five. Right, they lost to.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Memphis by one and then by three, Tennessee by three,
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: and Old Miss by six, like they have just been
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: right there. Now here's my against the spreads.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: I saw Minnesota at Iowa at Kinnick. They haven't won back.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: They won last time there, but they that was forever
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: ago that they actually have won there, and the last
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: time they won back to back trips in Kinnick was
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: seventy nine eighty one, so that tells you how hard
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: it is. However, however, I saw a plus eight and
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: a half and then a nine and a half, so
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I technically have an eleven and a half plus eleven
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: and a half on my Gophers. I think Iowa win
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: the game, but that's something I'm looking at. And then
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Miami Stanford Stanford outlasted a struggling FSU team plus thirty.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: And a half.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: You know, when you lose a game the next week,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: sometimes you come out flat. Now I think Miam's gonna
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: win the game, but plus thirty and a half, I
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: have those two bets already, plus eleven and a half.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: Plus thirty and a half and then Mississippi State Texas
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: plus seven and a half? Are we sure? Are we are?
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: They play hard, they're gretty, just like ASU, They're a
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: gritty ass team.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I mean, are we Are we sure that the Texas
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: can win that? I mean, they're gonna need another punk
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: return then I don't know if they can beat him
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: by that much. In the Northwestern versus Nebraska plus seven
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: and a half? Are we positive that Nebraska's had a
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: good defense they've been playing or sorry, Northwestern has been
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: playing better?
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: They really have? Actually, yeah, and so that plus seven
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: and I haven't made eight bets, but that plus seven
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: and a half. I'm just like, are we are we positive?
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Are we positive that that's gonna happen?
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: I mean, Northwestern's one five in a row, so you
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: know they're they're they're trending hotter than Nebraska. One pick
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: I do like which is not it's not taking points,
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: it's giving points? Is I like Virginia minus ten and
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: a half? I know it's the Carolina and know Virginia's
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: had a couple of sneakers lately, but dude, North Carolina
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: is not on the same level as Virginia. And yes
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: he had a hiccup with uh with Wazoo, but you
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: need to you need to get right game. I think
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: this is Virginia's get right game to kind of get
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: back on track. And what is North Carolina's showing you
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: to think that they can contend with the top tier
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: team in their conference. I don't see it.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: A whole lot.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: And this one I forget. I'm drawing a blank on
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: the Reverend yet. But Kansas State, Kansas should be a
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: fun one. I know that k State kind of like
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: has peed the bed a couple of times. Yere, they
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: start off a little slow. And Kansas, man, they're kind
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: of like the Florida the Big twelve. They alwas seem
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: to have really hard schedule. See it seems like every
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: every time they play someone in their ranked but then
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: when they move on their un ranked. But so KNY
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: Kansas case, they should be a fun one. I will
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: take Kansas because I think that Jayden Daniels is fun
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: to watch. And well, let me ask you, Chrissy mentioned
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: it can can a man? Can a man bet Auburn?
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Like you know, they're they're they're only they're only one
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: and a half point dog at Arkansas, Like one of
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: those teams has to win. Auburn's gotta win or Arkansas
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: has to you know, I.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: If this might be seven overtimes with like seven horrible
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: calls each overtime, I don't know. I'm I'm staying away
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: from it just because Arkansas. You know, they're freaking feisty too,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: So I don't I don't.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Really know, man, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: that one.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Petrino, Hugh Freeze. You know, someone's gotta win, Chris, someone's
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: gotta win. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna pick. I'm
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: gonna pick Auburn. I think Auburn. And finally they're they're
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: not with their home shrubs anymore. There's no bushes around there.
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: You gotta go into Fayetteville. But I haven't picked the
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Auburn Tigers to get a win. I think I think
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: they're they're due.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: Uh, that's sure. And they're not a bad team, dude.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: They're just not a bad team at all.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: Though, and a sneaky one to kind of go up
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: your alley is against the spread. Hey, Alabama, you're going
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: into South Carolina. You're eleven and a half point favorite.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: Bama was due for a letdown at some point. Are
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: they gonna lose? But could South Carolina keep it within
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: ten or nine points? For sure? Bama's been on a
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: fucking run and they've been They won. They won four
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: verse four y teams in a row. That's something I
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: think the Boor has done that Saban hasn't done. Like
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: that team's been just on complete floor, foot to the floor,
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: going eighty. Now you have a little bit of a
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: let back. I think I wish it was a night
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: that'd be more of a test, but it's at two thirty.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: I think South Carolina covers versus fatas. They probably don't win.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: There might be a shock, but I could see that.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I can see that.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Just Yea finally come out and be flat. We've been
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: waiting for him to be flat, and maybe this is
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: the letdown. Oh South Carolina is not as good? Now
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: wait the South. Yeah Bama beats South Carolina because old
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: missing Bama beat South Carolina last year, so there's no uh,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: there's no hey, wait a second, this team beat you
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: last year like Vandy or whatever.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: You know, So yeah, I could see that.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: Okay, last one for I get to my segment, why
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: is Michigan minus fourteen and a half at Sparty unless
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: there's a quarterback thing. I know, I'm not saying Sparty's elite,
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: but Michigan is a two touchdowns plus a half point
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: on the road versus arrival. Oh give me sparks.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Based off that Washington game, man, like they look good
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: last week. I watched that game. I was surprised. I
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: had a plus six and a half Washington. But like
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: I said, it was like a hunt written. It was
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: like eight catches from the tight ends.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: He was.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: It was his best game. The two games he struggled
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: was when they played high level defenses and they just
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: blitz the fuck out of him. Clearly a young quarterback
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: not handling that well. Sure, but Michigan State is horrible
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: on defense though, So it's a little it is a
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: little wide in a rivalry.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: You know, give me Sparty, give me Sparty plus fourteen
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: in a hook. Hell yeah, all right, Gill, is it
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: time for our show.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: It is time for our segment.
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: Our segment, the crafty craft Pick of the Week, which
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: started over a decade ago. This week we're switching up Chris.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: We're going to Wednesday, October twenty second, on the CBS
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Sports Network. Missouri State plays New Mexico State. So New
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: Mexico State.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: These guys are five hundred. This guy is right, this
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: guy is right. I'm yep, yep, yeah, this guy's right.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: I scrolled through six different times.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: So whoever wins this game is gonna be above five hundred.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: I think this guy is right. That's been texting or
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: message to be good though, Go ahead, good, all right?
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: So, uh, Missouri State plays in New Mexico State. Okay,
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: this is eight o'clock on CBS Sports Network. Both these
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: teams are three and three, which is a compliments. And
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: then they're they're okay, but they're not you know, they're
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: they're okay. I i'.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: You're saying this.
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: There was about five games. I had to pick one.
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: There wasn't a there was a complete like dog water
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: game this week. This was like the bad one. Okay,
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: So all right, So Missouri State plays in Mexico State.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: Uh yeah, so let me give a little game cast here.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: Uh is at Aggie Memorial Stadium, New Mexico State. Can
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: punch your ticket again. I believe this is the seventh
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: year they've been on this segment. It is at las
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: Crusis day Diego Pavia came from. This is where the
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: Jerry Shill Diego Pavia show started, So hats off to that.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: So yeah, you can get in the door for twenty
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: six dollars. It should be seventy six degrees, slightly cloudy
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: and over unders fifteen and a half. Chris Conference, USA.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: It's a Wednesday showdown. I don't want to hear your complaining.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: I could have gotten a different out, but this is
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: what we're doing. Take it away, brother, Let's see what
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: you got. Oh but oh but by and by the way,
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: we did win last week. Hats off to ball State.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: We're now four and four on the year, looking to
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: be five and four when we meet up on next week.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: All right, hey, I do like that. You've finally got
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: the second your segment. You finally get I got the
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: hardest part of your segment, but.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: You finally got that right. I appreciate. Thank you.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: No on, it took me eight years.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Let's go no, no, no, no. Every other year you've done
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: it right for whatever reason. This year, this year it's
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: been weird.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: However, I'm gonna make my pick and I'm gonna I'm
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: gonna the winner. Of this game is gonna have a
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: over five hundred record, So that's not too crappy.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just saying.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: I didn't want to believe this guy who's been messaging me,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: but I'm starting to believe him.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Okay. If I wouldn't have lost, if I would have
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: lost last week, I would have totally went conspiracy theory
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: on it. But this is this is it. This does,
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: I'll give you it. It does. It does go in
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: there because you have New Mexico State averaging twenty three
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: on offense, not so hot right now. They do pass
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: the shit out of the ball too.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: Fifty eight actually, both Missouri State two they only average
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: twenty two points two fifty eight two sixty four. That's
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: impressive through the air. I will give them that. New
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Mexico State doesn't really mess with the run. They only
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: average sixty six a game. Both of them give up
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: a lot one fifty one to one six Missouri State,
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: but like I said, you know you don't. You don't
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: run the ball much, so that's gonna play a factor.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Missouri State giving up thirty points a game compared to
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: New Mexico State twenty four. So these are bad teams
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: Now we talked about how a stat can mess with you.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: You know what's crazy is Jacob Clark and Logan Fife
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: were both on the Gophers at some point. Oh my god,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: that's crazy. I knew about Logan Fife, but I didn't
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: know that's where Jacob Clark hand it. Wow, this is
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: years ago. They were on the team. Okay, So now
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: they both suck, no doubt about that. I'll give you that.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: But when you look at those stats that I just read,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: they lost twenty eight to ten to SMU. Okay, Missouri
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: State did. New Mexico State lost to New Mexico, who's
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: a solid team, thirty eight to twenty.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: But Missouri State not only did they have to play
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: a power team in SMU that they were there with,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: they had to play USC and they put up like
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: seventy three on them. Okay, something like that. So that's
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: where those stats come from.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: Now, Missouri State, according to this is not my stat,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: this is the Fox stat, the Bears twelve recovered fumbles
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: is the second most n D one. Okay, So that
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: means they're forcing this stuff out on a run heavy team.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: I don't believe in Logan Fife. Okay, I don't believe.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: In that guy.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Okay, so I'm going who is it? The Missouri State Bears? Okay,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: there's a lot of Bears in Missouri. Okay, so I'm
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: going with the road team. Okay, they're the slight favorite, correct.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Yes or MIAs one and a half?
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Yes, sir, And that's what I was telling that guy.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: You're gonna go for the closest one every time, but
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: on Okay, so I'm going to Missouri State. However, the
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: next day you have South Alabama in Georgia State both
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: one in six.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: Now, maybe you're stashing those teams for later, that's fair.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: But I'm starting to believe this guy's conspiracy theory. Maybe
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: it's just a theory. It's not a conspiracy. They're both
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: one and six. Marshall, Like, come on, dude, throw me
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: a bone. It's a six and a half point spread.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: I get that South Alabama a bonew me a bone
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: one in six. I mean, Goaly, I'm believing this guy. Now, Marshall,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: I think I'm believing this guy. I think I'm believing.
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: All right, next week, I'll tell you that. I can't
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: wait for next week's show.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: But it is true.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: You do go you you usually favor the closer pick
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: to make my job harder.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I try to keep the points spread four points
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: or less in general.
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's fair.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: For famous Missouri State alumni, Brad Ziegler was an A's pitcher.
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: Ryan Howard was a baseball player for Philly. Actually a
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: really good baseball player.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: I remember him.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: Uh the entertainer.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, well on, dude, Okay, now that's gonna be
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: a tough one.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: Uh. For New Mexico State, Aggie's obviously have Pavia and
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: Jerry Kill who played there for sports. Uh. Pascal Siakam Uh,
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: great great NBA player there.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: I did not know he played there.
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Bryan Erlacker a great linebacker from our younger days
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: when we were growing up. And that's Eddie Guerrero the
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: rest of the rest of the piece. Man.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: So you got Yeah, that's that's a good one.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: That's a very It's like the game one and a half.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna give the edge. I'm I always truly
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: was a I think I actually had a brinderlecer jersey.
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: I was really little, right, I respected that, dude. I
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: also the Pavia angle Jerry Kill, I'm gonna give a
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: slight edge to Mexico State, so you're taking Missouri. Stay
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: on the field. Alumni battle is a slight battle and
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: tip of the captain Mexico State. It should be a
