- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: So, surprise, we have ESPN's Meena Times joining SBP again, the esteemed Meena Times, and I'm just going to, before we jump in, talk about the saying, so let's talk about all the things that Meena has accomplished in her offseason with celebrity jeopardy, script spelling B, just been on an amazing tear, and obviously you know her from the Meena Times show featuring Lini.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: just finished up a NFC podcast with our friend from NFL Daily Greg.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Rosenthal, where there was a lot of Saints talk.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: And perfect, we got a mean on.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Drew Breeze is going into the Hall of Fame.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: There are a lot of Saints buzz.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I just, just, anyway, all that's it.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for coming on and joining us a second time on SBP.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: We really appreciate it.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for having me.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Saints fans, if you're listening to this,
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not a Saints fan, that's weird.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: We'll check out, yeah, that'd be very, very.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Go check out the NFC South Preview with Greg.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: You can watch it on youtube.com slash at me anytime.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's like y'all said, a lot of Saints talk, a lot of Saints enthusiasm.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: So you guys can say, you know, great Rosenthal, no longer friend, mean a kind of friend.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was fun.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I said this on the pod, but it was really fun to do the prep for that because the NFC sounds, you know, at the end of the stuff, it was kind of kind of lip to the finish line.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: But it was fun too.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was fun to revisit some of the divisional matchups to watch some of these quarterbacks in particular.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I had a really good time watching it and it led to some enthusiasm.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about when anyone in big media talk about the saints, like typically there's this like little pause in the side before like whatever someone's going to say.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: But this is like the first time we've been doing this podcast six plus years, like the enthusiasm and the excitement and the buzz is like through the roof.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: So what was it about like the team build this off season that really got you excited?
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Because you predicted this spoiler alert, but you predicted them the one that NFC South
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: preview, I don't know if you regret that or not, but all the moves they made in the off season, what just got you excited that this team could maybe take a step forward in their in their dream and their team build.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, starting with the, yeah, the roster, and I think just the team building general.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, big part of the reason why a lot of us nationally have been skeptical, you know, kind of since the end of the Druparies era is just the way Mickey Loomis has approached.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Bill's team, the way he's approached how he spends his money, the age of some of the players, some of the bad contracts he's given out quite candidly, and I think he's pretty deserving of criticism.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: But it kind of feels like they finally rip the band-aid clean on our rip the band-aid off on a lot of that.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: They finally let some of those contracts expire, got them off the books, finally embraced a little bit more of a youth movement.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, they've hit on some players.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think the coaching staff looks really good based on what we watched last year.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I think there's enthusiasm there, but it all starts with the quarterback, right?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: ascending team potentially if you can't get excited about the quarterback and you know I was a Tyler Chuck fan going into the season y'all can go check out my the draft preview or a quarter back preview I talked about him at length.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I was a fan after the season and revisiting his tape.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot to like, um, which we can get into that made me excited to watch more this year.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then then then they go back to the team build, too.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: I love that they were just so clearly bent on trying to improve the circumstances around him.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: This offseason is also made me excited to watch this year.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yo, no, you're free to take a quick look at that.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: Man, I'm checking out this website this site is cheeseburg.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: In the 21st century, how do you have a crappy website?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: Couldn't be me, they need to hit a bi-guide visa with precious works.

- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: You can get with him at B's on at Precious Works, B-I-J-O-N at Precious.Works, or go to Precious.Works for his website.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Also, tell him, say bye-bye.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, you preach it to the choir for us because we, we have been banging the Saints knee, table, for as long as we've been podcasting because even in a Jewish era, you know, Sean Payne had this thing where, you know, he always thought he could find his own another Marcus Colston or create another Jimmy Graham or something like that.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: So it was just years where they just kind of neglected
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: the juice on the offense.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: And it just hit the hit hit the butt right by the last year.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it was just the guys they were putting out there for Tyler's shot.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: It was ridiculous, but what made Tyler's shot exciting was he was actually looking good with those guys with Kevin Austin doing your with, you know, Devon, but let Belay who they just, you know, pulled up with a quick trade.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: And one of the things I noticed
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: with shock is, you know, his stats weren't great.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like his, if you just pulled up his stats and you'd look at him, he's like, he's not like going to pop out at you.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: But he was definitely one of those guys.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: You just had to actually watch.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's like, oh, like, oh, it's a nice throw.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like that.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I notice all the people like you, people I love, like you, you know, Greg and a lot of other people, all knowers who I like to call them.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: After they watched it, we'll say, hey, this guy's all right.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: He's pretty good, you know?
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Clearly the best I thought of the rookie quarterbacks.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'll start there last year, you know, I just watched Cammore.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Cammore, I do think Cammore's ceiling is very high, but it's not an eyeable that the tape that Tyler shook put out last year was better than him.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was better than Jackson Dart and Chador Sanders.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I think he just looks NFL ready.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I know people say that, well, of course, he's like 35.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, it's not something you could take for granted, honestly, because there are some quarterback soon, I would never develop that ability to stand in the pocket, go through the progressions, hit the backside of a concept, throw over the middle of the field.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, Greg and I both landed on a similar comp, and I, and St. Scott's did love this, and I'd like to just take a moment to say why it's a good comp.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Ryan Tanahill, people forgot at his peak was a very good and a full quarterback.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, that tightens offense, like for again, when they were like making playoff runs, they were extremely extremely good.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: So we both brought up Ryan Tanahill because of the toughness, which was something that really stood out to me upon rewatch, the functional athleticism, and again, those ability to throw over the middle of the field.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's a really good comp for any return of act to be compared to it.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: I had the same, I wish I could go find it in a discourse.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: I said it, Ryan Tanehamp, Tanehamp with some Josh Allen Parsley, like this, let's prank it out.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: And people forget, like, that Titan's Ryan Tanehamp was pretty good, man, like, I know what?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: I know it was Derek Henry, like it was the day where Derek Henry showed back them, but
- 8:30[SPEAKER_02]: He made a big time throw so I love that company.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, yeah, let's go.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: If that's the case, if you can get that in a second round.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then the other thing, you know, with Chuck is, you also talked about the lack of receivers.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think the thing that really also jumped out to me that was not appreciated enough was zero run game.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: And, like, statistically, I think I said this in the pod, ranking with the Raiders last year, and a lot of that had to do with the offensive line in the constant injuries and all of that, which also, I think, is a credit to shock, right?
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I do think there was clearly a desire this offseason to get, you know, more physical up front to bring in some juice, signing drives A-chan, and if he was able to be that good with that, bad of a run game, even like an average run game, I think we'll lift his floor as well.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: One thing I'm just, Ryan and I have talked about this is I believe when Greg did on NFL daily, the quarterback draft or quarterback rating like Chuck was like around 22, but I'm just curious to know what,
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: people think of like when we talk about this leap for shock, like quantifying like what is like I guess I'm asking like what is what a leap look like to you in your two for a shock.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's like statistically or just like, I mean, I was just statistically.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's yeah, I take your fix.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's the number one thing I want to see.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because yeah, like there's a little bit of things like you want to, you know, the a little bit more anticipation.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: Again, that's true of literally every young quarterback on earth.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: some a little bit more pocket movement improvement to stepping up in the pocket against pressure.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: But generally, the number one thing I think he's got to get better at is taking fewer sex.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, there's a litany of reasons for those sex.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: I gave a little bit of context on my pod that, you know, the time to sack was actually not that high, which suggests the elements of line was definitely
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: the culprit for some of them.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: But going back and rewatching, there were some sacks that were clearly on him as well.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Just classic rookie stuff, not throwing away, not taking the check down, you know, wanting to get to three when you should just give it up on play.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I think those negative plays, if you can eliminate them or lessen them to, you know, at least maybe an average level, that will also really make this offense more efficient.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: And it was funny about him, you know, in college, he would throw it a ball away.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but I was just surprised it, yes.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: And he was just a complete opposite in the NFL.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, what had almost like, almost felt like he was determined to prove that he was not successful.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I had him on my show, actually.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about this.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: He was going to go check out.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great interview.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Love him, super, super personal.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think you guys have seen that New Orleans seems to love him.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: Really, just like a chill dude.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: But anyways, I can't remember how it came up if I brought it up, but first of all, he was kind of clearly like aware of something's I.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: And which was great.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Love a little little sassy enough.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: And he, I remember was very like, I'm going to take, I will take hits.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I will stand in the pocket.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: I will, like, see, you know, I'm not afraid of contact.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then going back and watching him at almost felt like he was trying to prove a point at time.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: because he had so many throwaways in college and they was coming off of the injuries.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I do wonder if there was like a little bit of a psychological aspect as well.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, were you kind of he's wanted to like the other end of the spectrum right in terms of trying to prove that we're on a fine balance balance.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: One thing I'm very I think Ryan and I are just very fascinated.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen today was the first day of training camp where the
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, attacking defense is now that he has a better idea of this is his team.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is his offense.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now he has like the weapons with Jordan Tyson with Chris O'Lave with A. Chan, Noah Fan and Oscar Duck in the Titan room.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: How could you potentially see Kelly adding on when he did last season, but with the weapons and the more kind of functional, more juicy your offense that he has going into your two.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think if the run game is functional, that will open up a lot of opportunities, whether it's play action or the RPO game, they were very Kellyn and Kellyn is a really great RPO designer going back to obviously Philadelphia and L.A.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: They were hamstrung at times by the fact that defense is just did not respect the run as they should.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I actually think, you know, for him, getting to create more plays where run-pass conflict actually puts defenders in conflict, you know, you know, going back watching the same offense, it's well designed, the way, you know, I think.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's very good at using motion to give his quarterback indicators, man's own, but also to create like space and leverage advantages for his receivers.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think he did a good job of figuring out like what Chuck's strengths and weaknesses were and kind of building the passing attack around that and that's going to continue developing it's year two right full season, but I do think that run game is going to.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: As much as, like, you know, the addition of Dorton Tyson is something I'm excited about, you know, del potentially adding some blocking juice or 12 personnel that that's something to monitor.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: I do think it starts with just not having, like, the worst run in the field.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to add, I think it shows his adaptability, because I remember we had Cody Alexander on the pod, going into Kelly's first year.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: He talked about the lack of motion that Kelly did historically just didn't use a lot of motion.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: And he used, I think they were like an in top 10 and he was motion in terms of, so it just says adaptability what he can do as a play caller.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Totally.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: And one of the major additions, well, big money additions this all season was David Edwards.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think going from you know Trevor pinning slash, uh, redundant to, you know, David Edwards, I think that's a huge upgrade.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: Not a steal.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: They're still.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, season reeds over there with, you know, just got to hope he plays better and then.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: I did not realize how bad he was until.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: Woo!
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Bad.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: But you know who I like, and I think I said this to when he guys can't remember.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I did, I had a Kevin Banks Jr. as my ex-factor.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: And he was one where the rewatch really was kind to him.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Second half.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so happy he said that.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: He looks so happy.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: He said that.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Flonga needs to tape a step forward.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: But thanks, Jr.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: It looks, I mean, he's so athletic.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: like the way it moves out there, it's just something you can't teach.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: No, you could tell he was just, he was still figuring it out as far as, like, obviously, you know, how to pass protect, but you could tell he has, I don't know, there's something to with those guys that you could tell I did like a film study every week with an offense last year and just watching them progress over here.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: You could tell he's just not a guy that's going to make a lot of mistakes.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's not going to repeat, be it like a repeat offender or whatever like that.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: Now as far as like the same defense, that's one of the real big questions.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: because they punched the above their weight class last year, which just surprised everybody.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: Surprise a hell out of us.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: But then it's like, you know, okay, Brian Brissie, he's going on an IR.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: They don't really have a lot of defensive juice.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: But there's a lot of like solid players.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: What do you expect here, too, of the Brandon Staley?
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's well put there's solid players, which is an improvement, you know, for past years, but it's there's not like super stars.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think young at times chase young flashed super star ability.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he did that on the pod fun rewatch by the way, but yeah, there's still there's still a few missing pieces in the second, like you had young players who really excited and took a step whether it was a sank or Riley or not, but it it does feel like
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: They're still missing like a stud at all, so he love them.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: However, the thing I'll say is this, you know, because the saints, the fans who talked about this, like, statistically finished great, even in stats that take account of a opponent, like, DVOA.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: And the second half of the season really started to come together.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: I thought, friends, daily didn't excellent job.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I know there's some apprehension, I was like, because like the FTN fantasy album, which is great people to check it out is like pretty low on them and, you know, then they think mentioned or at least Aaron mentioned to me, second half form.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's usually not predictive.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, fair.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: However, I've looked at these the NFC sound often since I don't, I mean, you know, I don't.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that they're going to be awful and just benefit from competition, but I do think that this division, like what I look at this division and these offenses, maybe the bucks, you know, have some upside there.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: I do think they're good enough to handle the NFC South.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe some of the, you know, lead opponents, less so, but I do think they were well-coach enough and solid enough across the board.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: But, and it's, you know, I mean, Stan has got to work cut out for him because they didn't have, right?
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: Other than bring back my love and Katie Nellis, like this was clearly an offense focused off season, and he's got to earn his pay.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, I thought we don't talk about enough is.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: football fans, people in general, getting enough sleep.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: And it's weird, bro, because I'm kind of known, we'll get my sleep all.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: But it ain't, it ain't sleep sleep.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it ain't that sleep sleep.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: That good, good sleep.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: And because of that, we are happy to talk about our new sponsor, and that is some sleep.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: Some sleep is a sleep aid that you mix in contains melatonin, contains magnesium, and it will help you get that good, good sleep throughout the night.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: If you are a Saints fan at nighttime, you're thinking about Marcus Williams missing that tackle.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking about that.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: No call.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking about burning Davis.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_02]: We're up here sitting there for you.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: Just looking at the ceiling.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: Angola, I was trying to scoop it for a bit.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's clutch bro.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, it got it.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: It calms you down.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: You take, you know, you just drop it in some water by eight ounces of water about 30 minutes.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: Before you go to sleep, stir it up or some ice in there, knock it back.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: It tastes good.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_02]: It got all kind of different flavors and I was trying to reenimmangle.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: This is a just a bear image right here.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're not gonna calm you down to get you ready for sleep And then you just like out is that piece of sleep and because there are new sponsor that means if you are Listen to this podcast if you go to get some that is G

- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: And he's got to learn his way and I've talked about this like they have a great litmus test the first two weeks.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: They have the lions and then the ravens to start the season and so
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was really good run defense last year.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: So those are two very run heavy teams.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, the reason I'm looking at my phone, I'm not interested in swuffle.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: You're good.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: You're good.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: You're good.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: and notification with her like there's no bread at the grocery store.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: We do a replacement.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: But there's bread at the grocery store.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: I just get some bread man.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: All you can do is like I can't find bread.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a picture of an empty shelf.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: Why is this not a stereotype but it's just true.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: Daughter both say like you would be a terrible like Instagram shopper.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: I get it now, I guess, because I just can't, I can't find anything.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: My son log onto my Instagram card at the other day and order 10 mint chocolate chip ice cream.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's great.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I got a lot, I got to create a password for this.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: Back to the same thing.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just the, one, the last one I had is kind of not safe specific, but just what is intriguing or just exciting you for this upcoming NFL season, there's a lot of story lines that are out there, but just as a ball-nore ball-watcher, like what is getting you like very intrigued
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, keep it to the NFC's house.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think it feels like kind of make or break for three of the four teams.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the Falcons are to me.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: No clue.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, I do.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a bummer, right?
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you're a Falcons fan, it doesn't feel make or break.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: If the stakes are just completely,
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: like it feels like they're treading water for no reason, sort of.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there is a reason, which is.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: They feel very similar to how the post-drew briefs, saints, seasons were, like, getting there and like, trying to like get in there at car, like just trying to like, in that having like the self-scouting ability to realize like, hey, like maybe we should kind of tear this down to the stunts type of thing.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's off confusing.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: But the Panthers have to figure out, price young.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: The box feels like this version of the box is kind of like it, like either it's it's now or never, Todd Bulls.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: So fascinating.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Hot sea guy.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then for the States, I think like, you know, the young quarterback can he build on last year, because if you, it's too early to say,
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: a good, but frankly, Derek Caron Vegas, I know we're just talking about him right or low gun.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, like, but like, I'll take a round pick.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you hit on that, that is a God sent from a team building perspective.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: And you can continue spending money to add around him.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's what they've got to figure out this year, right?
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, is, do we feel good moving forward?
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Is this a guy we can win with?
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even think he needs to be a win because of quarterback.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: There's like six like if you and because you look like one, right?
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: But if that's confirmed, you got the coaching staff, you got the good young quarterback.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: You finally have cap space in a win or division where no one else knows what the hell.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, you can make this thing.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: competitive for years.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: So exciting time, I think.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then you can actually go spend money on like a past Russia and a corner of the things we're talking about that you need.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm optimistic.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited because it does feel like and this is why I ended up picking this thing.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: It does feel like the anesthesioth is right for the taking.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's always true, but we'll see.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: My last one, it's a small
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: with some jelly mirror because I want to see some jelly draft back and to when are we going to get more meaner
- 23:51[SPEAKER_02]: like debating economics and AI and all that stuff, that was cool.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: So we're being able to, that was, I just got interviewed from like wired magazine about tech and I went on this like AI ran and I'm like treated when that comes out.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: Your first question, sorry, I think, was about.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: Jail and mirror rule.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Jail and mirror.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: OK, so I'm actually going to Seattle on Friday.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to be at camp.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm very interested.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: Not just in seeing him, but also getting the boots on the ground perspective, whether, because you know, obviously, you didn't really do anything last year.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to see, if there's any enthusiasm or interest around him, because we just don't know.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: Right, you know, by the way, who Rattler still back up, right, who's behind?
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, who's behind?
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: Zach Wilson.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's looking like Zach Wilson.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: I was just about to say, someone should trade for Rattler.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: I know I got like grief for saying he looked good.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you, again, going back.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was not that bad and it really wasn't his fault.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I actually think he's one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, before like the bears in Tampa Bay like debacle, um, we're kind of just all kind of crashed down, but no, it wasn't especially with the, with the rewatching thing.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like a lot of the corners out make a call, but that's what I'm calling it.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like a rather expensive rally star in the like, they just, they just paint the Colby like, I don't, I mean, what up?
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: All the the Cardinals mix a lot since cuz he's from Arizona like that's the fun little fun little homecoming But anyhow, thank you, meaner for coming on to SBP again.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: They spot probably a podcast.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: We truly appreciate a great conversation fun times and then maybe like Ryan said maybe there's the Bloomberg
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: Algorithms and that's the words and please say it's fans go check out the EDUC South pod My least viewed and a divisional for you
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's why that's why they don't talk about it.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to be an energy-style with a respecter and you've got to show up.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: You want people to talk about your teams, you've got to show up.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: So get in the comment section, tell Greg why he's wrong, and why you're ripping off the Saints' page and giving it to me.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: We will we will hype we'll hype it up.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: We'll put in our discord.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll put it everywhere.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure y'all check out the NFC South preview.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: We mean it and Greg Rosenthal and Mike daughter calls him white Greg for some reason.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: Don't don't know why we add on to you have nicknames where we add on check boys.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: I started it.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like being a shock boy, the crazy hotel of shock is his name lends itself to so many, so many, so much.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: So much.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: We call it a monk.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: We call it a monk.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: You be a monk.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's my own.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: So many things.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: Or just crazy, because he's like, what?
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: 26, 27.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 27.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Still a kid to me, you know.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: But because he's a good guy.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's a monk.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's really funny.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's to be like older than Trevor Lawrence.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that takes no.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I want to say he's the same age as that Wilson R. Or did it, exactly.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: Probably why in addition to like being able to read defenses, he's cool.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: Right, yes.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's way too.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's just like, oh, got a kid, got a wife, like, why it's like whatever been set.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, we could talk on that.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for coming on me to appreciate it.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure you check out the NFC South Preview with that.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: We are out.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_00]: He says there's no Santa.
