Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous, Welcome to the bonus episode of the Give
- 0:08Speaker 1: Them La La Podcast. We are still on Oscar fever
- 0:12Speaker 1: and all the looks. I wrote in on the Give
- 0:16Speaker 1: Them La La pod Instagram page and wanted to know
- 0:20Speaker 1: all of your thoughts, what you thought about the looks
- 0:23Speaker 1: or moments, and you guys, you guys certainly came with
- 0:28Speaker 1: some great moments and actually filled me in on some
- 0:31Speaker 1: things that happened. Because I have add and and I
- 0:37Speaker 1: zone out sometimes, especially when I have to do two
- 0:39Speaker 1: things at once. Because Lisa got large number rummy cube,
- 0:44Speaker 1: so I was playing that with her and it was
- 0:48Speaker 1: background noise for a moment. But there were some things
- 0:51Speaker 1: that you guys wrote in and I was like, wow, okay,
- 0:54Speaker 1: so I did catch the best of the best moments.
- 0:57Speaker 1: How do you feel Easton you were next door?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I had it on. I mean I saw like
- 1:03Speaker 2: pretty much the ending, like with all the you know,
- 1:07Speaker 2: big awards like Best Picture and all that. Yeah, but
- 1:11Speaker 2: in the middle, now, I didn't really catch a lot. Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I tell me, well, it sounds like we are gonna
- 1:17Speaker 1: have a meeting of the minds because you caught the
- 1:19Speaker 1: parts that I didn't perfect. Yeah, I love that. So
- 1:22Speaker 1: the first thing that you guys brought up was Zoe
- 1:28Speaker 1: Zaldana's speech totally amazing. Did you watch that?
- 1:32Speaker 2: No? But I did. I mean I saw a lot
- 1:33Speaker 2: of things on it.
- 1:35Speaker 1: So I'm obsessed with her because she's so authentically her.
- 1:39Speaker 1: There were moments that like during her speech and actually
- 1:43Speaker 1: during like after she received her oscar backstage, during her interview,
- 1:48Speaker 1: where I'm like, you are an actress, but you're so
- 1:54Speaker 1: authentically you even off screen because during her speech, her
- 1:59Speaker 1: speech wasn't credible.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Was she reading off a paper?
- 2:02Speaker 1: No, okay, But the way that she would get when
- 2:05Speaker 1: she would cry, I immediately pictured in her role of Avatar,
- 2:10Speaker 1: and I'm like, wow, you are just like you are
- 2:13Speaker 1: who you are and absolutely like during So it's Sanford Meisner.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It's method acting. Not saying that that's who she studied,
- 2:25Speaker 1: but it's a method of acting where like you tap
- 2:28Speaker 1: into if you're playing a role where like your mom
- 2:33Speaker 1: passes away and let's just say your mom has passed away,
- 2:36Speaker 1: you tap into that. Yes, So not saying that it
- 2:43Speaker 1: has to be absolutely paralleled, but you go into a
- 2:47Speaker 1: state of actually feeling those emotions. And when she would
- 2:53Speaker 1: cry during her speech and like her mom, and she
- 2:56Speaker 1: talked about being from parents who came to this kind
- 2:59Speaker 1: of and you know her grandmother. She paid homage to
- 3:02Speaker 1: her during her speech, but she would get emotional and
- 3:06Speaker 1: hit those that pitch like she would do in Avatar.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And I watched those videos where she has like the
- 3:13Speaker 1: nodes on her when she's doing avatar, right, and you
- 3:17Speaker 1: know when you see something you can't unsee.
- 3:18Speaker 2: It like I will.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That's all I could see. It was so moving, so incredible,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and she was so fucking excited and she thinks, so
- 3:27Speaker 1: her husband is fine, and he's got a head of
- 3:30Speaker 1: hair on him. She goes and to my husband, my husband,
- 3:34Speaker 1: my life partner, and that gorgeous hair. She was like,
- 3:39Speaker 1: and our our beautiful sons. And I was like the
- 3:44Speaker 1: fact that she's talking about her husband but also brought
- 3:47Speaker 1: the hair into it is just top tier.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 1: So a man who just stands by his woman. And
- 3:56Speaker 1: they made like by the way her children are copy
- 3:59Speaker 1: and paste her, just like these beautiful boys with the
- 4:03Speaker 1: long hair. And I'm like, that's the goal, right where
- 4:07Speaker 1: your man sits back and watches you accept a fucking
- 4:11Speaker 1: Oscar the highest of high awards and acknowledgment when it
- 4:16Speaker 1: comes to your craft, right yes, and to the world
- 4:21Speaker 1: you're this incredible actress that at home with your sons,
- 4:27Speaker 1: Like they just think that that's like your job, but
- 4:29Speaker 1: they don't care. They're like, where's my fruit snack?
- 4:31Speaker 2: Right? They issue out of all of it, all of it.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I know, I was just paid. I mean I was
- 4:38Speaker 2: just picturing myself in that world, Like how crazy and
- 4:42Speaker 2: how I don't know how proud you would just be
- 4:46Speaker 2: like looking at her in a sense like I'm putting
- 4:49Speaker 2: myself in his shoes, you know, yeah, and just like
- 4:52Speaker 2: because I know she looks at him the same way
- 4:54Speaker 2: with just the hair comment and speech. But I it's
- 4:56Speaker 2: just it is it's crazy to think about, like the
- 4:59Speaker 2: life at home home as well, and like just all
- 5:01Speaker 2: of that.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Well, I think everyone knows that time passes and things fade,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and in this moment you have won an Oscar and
- 5:12Speaker 1: it's amazing and everyone knows for that night, but time
- 5:15Speaker 1: passes and then you sit there and you're like, did
- 5:18Speaker 1: that person win an Oscar for that? And then you
- 5:21Speaker 1: go back and google whatever. Everyone knows how life works,
- 5:25Speaker 1: But what is a constant and what's going to be
- 5:29Speaker 1: the things that you truly remember are the times that
- 5:34Speaker 1: are real that you can touch and hold on to,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and they last forever. Your children never go away. You
- 5:41Speaker 1: watch them. Time passes, but you watch them grow and
- 5:44Speaker 1: turn into their own people. Whereas standing on stage and
- 5:48Speaker 1: accepting an oscar, you have that memory, but like it's
- 5:51Speaker 1: that memory and then it's done. It doesn't evolve into
- 5:53Speaker 1: something else.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like you would have more memories of
- 5:56Speaker 2: putting that trophy on your mantle and like looking at
- 6:01Speaker 2: it with your kids. That's the timeless, like that you
- 6:05Speaker 2: will never forget, Like you forget about your speech. You're
- 6:08Speaker 2: going to forget about all that. But every time you
- 6:10Speaker 2: look at that like monumental moment in your life. I
- 6:15Speaker 2: feel like she will trace that back to like her
- 6:18Speaker 2: looking at it with her kids and her husband in
- 6:20Speaker 2: the same way. Yeah, and all of that.
- 6:22Speaker 1: But she is dissipated, right she and she did talk
- 6:26Speaker 1: about that. She goes she was being interviewed and the
- 6:29Speaker 1: woman asked, what are you going to do tonight? And
- 6:32Speaker 1: she goes, well, I absolutely have to go out and celebrate.
- 6:34Speaker 1: She talks about how she's more of a homebody, but tonight,
- 6:38Speaker 1: you know, we have to celebrate this when she said,
- 6:40Speaker 1: my kids are at the hotel, so we need to
- 6:42Speaker 1: go back and have this moment and celebrate with them.
- 6:45Speaker 1: But she said, and then we're going to go out.
- 6:48Speaker 1: But I thought that was so cute. Yeah, you know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: and her kids are going to look at that and
- 6:52Speaker 1: think like, that's so amazing. They won't understand until they're older,
- 6:55Speaker 1: what a huge fucking deal that is.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah, with their mom just accomplished.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah, so that one did stick in my mind as well.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm happy that this person wrote in Adam Sandler is iconic.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Did you see his It's kind of at the beginning,
- 7:07Speaker 1: so you probably missed it, didn't. He shows up in
- 7:10Speaker 1: like a blue what we would probably what everyone probably
- 7:13Speaker 1: wanted to wear to the Oscars.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Right, basketball shorts and a T shirt with a blazer
- 7:18Speaker 2: over here.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah, like Conan O'Brien. It's obviously a bit, but he
- 7:21Speaker 1: says he looks like a guy who's playing like late
- 7:24Speaker 1: night poker, you know, and he's in this like blue
- 7:27Speaker 1: hoodie and he nailed it.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Then he calls out Conan and he's like, no one
- 7:33Speaker 1: would have noticed what I'm wearing, but he's in his
- 7:36Speaker 1: Adam Sandler voice right unless you pointed it out, and
- 7:38Speaker 1: then talks about how he's gonna go play five on
- 7:40Speaker 1: five basketball later and where to meet and who's on
- 7:43Speaker 1: his team, and he starts talking about like what movies
- 7:46Speaker 1: he calls like the director of this movie whatever. But
- 7:49Speaker 1: right before he leaves, because remember he had that bit
- 7:51Speaker 1: at the Golden Globes, Yes, right before he leaves, he
- 7:55Speaker 1: rolls up on Timothy shallow May, gives him a how
- 7:58Speaker 1: he goes.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Challow May, and then leaves it just left and then leaves.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I'm sure we returned, but it was a really cute
- 8:05Speaker 1: and funny bit. It was things like that where it's like, Okay,
- 8:08Speaker 1: we're livening it up a bit. We are poking fun
- 8:10Speaker 1: at the facts. So tight, yes, we are going to
- 8:13Speaker 1: poke fun at the fact that, yeah, we probably do
- 8:15Speaker 1: all want to be in sweatpants. Maybe not everybody. I
- 8:17Speaker 1: think some people thoroughly enjoy.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I know people who like getting dressed up,
- 8:22Speaker 2: and as I'm seeing them getting dressed up, I'm like,
- 8:25Speaker 2: where are my fucking sweats.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I feel like there was a point in time I
- 8:30Speaker 1: remember really loving when the clock hit a certain hour
- 8:34Speaker 1: because I was like, I can start getting ready and
- 8:38Speaker 1: painting my face and putting on my cue outfit and
- 8:40Speaker 1: feeling like myself and I don't know if that time
- 8:43Speaker 1: will ever come again. And I talk about, well, I
- 8:48Speaker 1: feel like.
- 8:48Speaker 2: You're just in a time right now where you don't
- 8:51Speaker 2: see it happening soon. But your kids are going to
- 8:55Speaker 2: get older, You're going to have events, and you're going
- 8:57Speaker 2: to have that again.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Yeah, And they're like, I don't feel like I'm missing
- 9:03Speaker 1: out on anything. And I do have to remind myself
- 9:06Speaker 1: that I'm six months postpartum, which is not that long,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and my day starts at latest six thirty in the morning,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and I keep saying, like I'm gonna get my Lala back.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I'm not gonna want people to, you know, be quiet
- 9:19Speaker 1: at ten thirty, where I'm like trying to go to
- 9:22Speaker 1: bed like I will. But even now, I said to
- 9:25Speaker 1: myself and I'm a virgo, remember like I'm gonna start
- 9:28Speaker 1: dating in twenty twenty five. We are three months in
- 9:31Speaker 1: and I'm like, I just don't have the desire yea.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And it literally takes another person to say, why would
- 9:39Speaker 1: you be in the mood You have two small children,
- 9:43Speaker 1: one of which is six months old. That's an exhausting thing.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yes, I don't. I don't think you give yourself enough grace. Wow,
- 9:52Speaker 2: what you're doing. And I get that you want to
- 9:53Speaker 2: go out and you know, start being lala again, But
- 9:58Speaker 2: those things will come right now. You're a mom to
- 10:01Speaker 2: a six month old. Yeah what at what point would
- 10:06Speaker 2: you be even And I know you and the virgo
- 10:09Speaker 2: in you. If you were to go out and do anything,
- 10:12Speaker 2: you would feel bad about leaving your child at home.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Well, I do feel badly about leaving them at home.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And people will say, but we're going on at this time,
- 10:20Speaker 1: so they won't know you're gone, and it's like, well,
- 10:22Speaker 1: at this point in time, I know I'm gone. I
- 10:25Speaker 1: know that I'm gone. I want to know that I'm
- 10:27Speaker 1: the one watching the monitor. I want to know that
- 10:30Speaker 1: if Ocean decides to get out of her bed and
- 10:31Speaker 1: she goes up to mom's room, that I'm in there.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yea, you know? Yeah? No, I think life just changes.
- 10:37Speaker 2: So I think that you're not alone in that boat.
- 10:40Speaker 1: No, I don't think so either.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I think a lot of people once they have kids,
- 10:43Speaker 2: and even forget kids. I don't have kids, and people
- 10:47Speaker 2: tell me about plans and I'm like nine o'clock.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Bro, I now say day of, I'll let you know
- 10:51Speaker 1: day of I need a reservation, go without me, yep.
- 10:54Speaker 2: If they're like, well we need a headcount, don't plan.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Me, don't count me in. But it's nice. I'm glad.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Like when I see people getting dressed up and ready
- 11:04Speaker 1: to go. I do like watching people do that because
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'm not feeling left out because I.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Don't I know what they're going to get into. And
- 11:13Speaker 2: that's the part I don't miss.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Out totally because once you're out, all you're trying to
- 11:18Speaker 1: think about how you can get back. I haven't watched
- 11:22Speaker 1: an awards show since early two thousands, but love your podcast.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I picked this one because it's related.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I mean I haven't really watched when I guess from
- 11:32Speaker 2: like sat down and watched like it's always just background noise.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I don't watch either. I wouldn't even have known it
- 11:38Speaker 2: was on if it wasn't for Landon. Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I was like asking certain people to go to dinner
- 11:43Speaker 1: and they're like, wow, it's Oscar night, and I'm like, oh, so.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Do you want to still go?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Okay, like skipping any of those things I do all
- 11:54Speaker 1: the time, I did sit down and watch the Grammys.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Grammys is different.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Grammys are fun. I really love it. This person love
- 12:03Speaker 1: the Gigly squad page. Desorbo who's on Summer House. Hannah
- 12:07Speaker 1: Berner was on Summer House and then she went on
- 12:09Speaker 1: to Blow Up. Had a Netflix special. She's a comedian.
- 12:15Speaker 1: They hosted the Vanity Fair Red Carpet. I did not
- 12:19Speaker 1: see that, So this morning I went back when I
- 12:21Speaker 1: saw this and watched some clips. I thought they were funny,
- 12:24Speaker 1: they looked great. I thought that they interviewed perfectly, absolutely,
- 12:30Speaker 1: especially when you take like I'm sure that they're used
- 12:34Speaker 1: to interviewing people. They have a podcast and it's a
- 12:37Speaker 1: very very well known, high level podcast. They go out
- 12:40Speaker 1: on tour and sell out, you know, three thousand seat venues.
- 12:45Speaker 1: But when you're placing this situation with the aest of
- 12:48Speaker 1: a list celebrities where you're interviewing them on the biggest
- 12:51Speaker 1: night in Hollywood, biggest party in Hollywood during award season,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Like that's nerve wracking.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Oh, I mean asking the question. It's almost to the
- 13:02Speaker 2: point where like I would have gone in with no notes.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I think you have to go in with no notes.
- 13:07Speaker 1: The notes would fuck with you. I think you hit
- 13:10Speaker 1: some you, I think you write them down to make
- 13:12Speaker 1: yourself feel better. Yes, but if you think about it,
- 13:15Speaker 1: when we have people on the podcast and we're like
- 13:18Speaker 1: so into our bullet points, what we're going to talk about.
- 13:21Speaker 1: In reality, when you go into a conversation, do you
- 13:24Speaker 1: go in with bullet points when you're like, let's go
- 13:26Speaker 1: to dinner.
- 13:27Speaker 2: No, right, And that's the thing, Like conversation gives anxiety
- 13:32Speaker 2: because you're trying to give the right answer, right, And
- 13:36Speaker 2: once you stop trying to like give that right answer
- 13:38Speaker 2: and stuff, you know, it's a free flowing totally easier.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I liked that. Sorry, what'd you saying?
- 13:44Speaker 2: I was just going to say, I feel like that
- 13:46Speaker 2: makes everything easier, just like what people have said being
- 13:50Speaker 2: on this podcast. Yeah, yeah, we have bullet points, we
- 13:53Speaker 2: maybe get through ten percent of them. Yeah, it's because
- 13:56Speaker 2: it's so free flowing. And that's how I feel like
- 13:58Speaker 2: you would have to be and yes, going with bullet
- 14:02Speaker 2: points of this, that and the other to just you know, bounce.
- 14:05Speaker 2: But I couldn't imagine going to a red carpet talking
- 14:11Speaker 2: to them yeah live yeah, and not asking something that
- 14:18Speaker 2: would make them uncomfortable. Like that is my biggest fear
- 14:23Speaker 2: is I knowing that and now you're live. Hats off
- 14:26Speaker 2: to them. I'm I loved you've shown me and like
- 14:30Speaker 2: when we talked about it, I went back and saw
- 14:32Speaker 2: it and like just reviewed it.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Again, it was just like Adam Sandler. They made it
- 14:40Speaker 2: feel like you're right, button was down. Well.
- 14:44Speaker 1: The thing that's great about them is they obviously are friends.
- 14:48Speaker 1: But you've got Hannah who's clearly a comedian. That's like
- 14:53Speaker 1: her gift, right, She's just funny. Page is funny without
- 14:58Speaker 1: knowing it. Maybe she knows it, but it's like it's
- 15:00Speaker 1: not in a comedic way, it's just funny. Yes, And
- 15:04Speaker 1: then she's so hardcore fashion girly. So when you bring
- 15:08Speaker 1: the two of them together, you do have the contrast,
- 15:10Speaker 1: but they compliment each other so well. And I think
- 15:15Speaker 1: having a partner in crime to go and interview, they
- 15:18Speaker 1: can pick up the slack. If you say something silly,
- 15:22Speaker 1: the other one can buffer for you. And I love
- 15:26Speaker 1: that having that. Well, yeah, love a safety net.
- 15:28Speaker 2: That's my biggest thing. If you were to do it
- 15:31Speaker 2: like they did and have that safety net, you you
- 15:34Speaker 2: go in with better spirits and energy. Yeah, and before
- 15:40Speaker 2: you're even doing it, you can look at them and
- 15:41Speaker 2: like if you look at each other and you're like,
- 15:43Speaker 2: oh fuck, we're both nervous.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Totally okay, you feel like you're not in it alone.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I think it was really hard back in the day,
- 15:50Speaker 1: like when we had Kelty Knight on and how she
- 15:53Speaker 1: would go out and interview and they're like, so, what'd
- 15:55Speaker 1: you get the publication? I would be horrendous at that
- 15:59Speaker 1: job because even when we have when we do the
- 16:02Speaker 1: podcast and people come in, this podcast is not to
- 16:07Speaker 1: catch anyone off guard. I don't need you to spill
- 16:10Speaker 1: anything on here to get a headline. Like, I literally
- 16:13Speaker 1: would be so bad at that job because I would
- 16:15Speaker 1: keep it so surface, middle of the road. I don't
- 16:19Speaker 1: want to offend you. I don't want to throw you
- 16:21Speaker 1: off your game.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yeah. No, they would be like, what did you come
- 16:24Speaker 2: back with?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Nothing?
- 16:26Speaker 2: A really good conversation though a friend. I left with
- 16:29Speaker 2: a friend, and that's more than you guys will ever
- 16:31Speaker 2: give me.
- 16:32Speaker 1: She asked me to always interview them because it's never
- 16:36Speaker 1: going to be picked up. I'm safe, not good in
- 16:41Speaker 1: the world of interviewing. You want the headline, Why does
- 16:45Speaker 1: Kylie Jenner only wear black lately? I relate. I'm into it.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You look good in it. It's easy. You can accessorize
- 16:55Speaker 2: black so easy. I love a good black fit, I
- 16:58Speaker 2: really do. I think like when it comes to outfits, Yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 2: black is my favorite. Shit.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Well I think so too, because like you said, it's
- 17:06Speaker 1: it looks great on everybody. You can dress it up
- 17:09Speaker 1: or dress it down. I thought she looked beautiful. Her
- 17:12Speaker 1: first one, like we said on the regular episode, was mumeu,
- 17:16Speaker 1: and then she changed into it was a black look,
- 17:18Speaker 1: but it was like nude and then like a Lacey
- 17:21Speaker 1: moment happening up top. I thought she looked I thought classic.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I wonder if she gets she's Kylie Jenner. But I
- 17:29Speaker 1: have to assume that there's always moments of feeling a
- 17:34Speaker 1: tad nervous when you go into a room with such
- 17:36Speaker 1: high level talent. Not saying she's not talented, because I
- 17:40Speaker 1: couldn't create a beauty company that's worth a billion dollars, Like,
- 17:45Speaker 1: no matter where you come from, whether your family you know,
- 17:49Speaker 1: had its boots on the ground, like it's up to
- 17:53Speaker 1: you to keep something successful.
- 17:55Speaker 2: It's incredible to see that with everything that she was giving,
- 18:00Speaker 2: she did what she did. Yeah, a lot of people
- 18:03Speaker 2: just ride right.
- 18:04Speaker 1: But I'm wondering if she goes into a room like that,
- 18:07Speaker 1: and maybe she does want to come across as like
- 18:09Speaker 1: I'm not just the girl who is constantly doing fashion
- 18:14Speaker 1: moments and make up and on a reality show. Does
- 18:19Speaker 1: that make sense?
- 18:20Speaker 2: It really does. And like you just said, you're walking
- 18:22Speaker 2: into this room with amazing actors and actresses and people
- 18:26Speaker 2: that have displayed talent on screens. And yes, you built,
- 18:32Speaker 2: you know, an empire, a billion dollar empire, and I
- 18:36Speaker 2: think you still get you take hits like ego hits
- 18:41Speaker 2: when you're in that room. Yes, and you know, when
- 18:44Speaker 2: you're in that room, who knows if people are even
- 18:45Speaker 2: doing that shady shit of like, well it was a Jenner,
- 18:48Speaker 2: she was going to be rich.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Anyway, you know, like you have no idea what goes on?
- 18:51Speaker 2: No, And that's the thing. It's like she really is
- 18:54Speaker 2: in a boat where she can't win, and it's only
- 18:58Speaker 2: a loss. Your fan only set you up to be
- 19:01Speaker 2: a billionaire, is what people are going to look at it.
- 19:03Speaker 2: But I see it as she she made a billion
- 19:06Speaker 2: off of her, so it's gonna be I can see
- 19:10Speaker 2: her being very intimidated.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And like overthinking, Yes, I don't think Kim is though, No, Kim, Well,
- 19:17Speaker 1: Kim's a different breed. Yeah. Halle Berry kissing Adriaan Brody
- 19:22Speaker 1: in front of his wife. I get it was I
- 19:24Speaker 1: get it was a reenactment, but how do you feel
- 19:27Speaker 1: about that? It was like during an interview and he
- 19:30Speaker 1: appears and halle Berry like plants a kiss on him
- 19:32Speaker 1: and his wife is right there. I didn't mind it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Show bez baby show is it?
- 19:39Speaker 2: I mean, I think to be a wife or a
- 19:42Speaker 2: husband of any like any role that is like playing
- 19:46Speaker 2: a sexual role that like they have to fill into,
- 19:49Speaker 2: It's like I get that, and you gotta do its work.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I know, but now we're off set. Let's for me.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I would be like, okay, maybe for pictures whatever a moment,
- 20:03Speaker 2: but that's what happened.
- 20:05Speaker 1: You would feel insecure.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I mean I would just be like, okay, at what
- 20:08Speaker 2: point you know, does work end? Right?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Well? I do get that because that's why Brad Pitt
- 20:16Speaker 1: and Jennifer Anison ended was because he did Mister and
- 20:19Speaker 1: Missus Smith with Angelina Jolie. They had a intimate relationship
- 20:24Speaker 1: in the movie. That was their role. There were husband
- 20:27Speaker 1: and wife and it did it turn into it evolved
- 20:30Speaker 1: into something else.
- 20:32Speaker 2: So that's where I'm saying, like, I would be insecure
- 20:35Speaker 2: because you do have to play into a role. But
- 20:37Speaker 2: playing into that role could spark things that you now
- 20:42Speaker 2: feel for that person you're playing along with. Totally didn't
- 20:45Speaker 2: care for it, Okay, but I get it moment that's
- 20:49Speaker 2: what you're going for in these situations.
- 20:51Speaker 1: But yeah, I I I get what you mean. Whose
- 20:56Speaker 1: red carpet look would you have most likely worn yourself
- 21:00Speaker 1: if you had to pick? Oh, that is such a
- 21:04Speaker 1: hard one. I loved what Selena Gomez wore.
- 21:08Speaker 2: I was gonna bring her up because she she looks fabulous.
- 21:13Speaker 1: She looked so bomb. But honestly, whose look I would
- 21:17Speaker 1: have wanted on my body was Julianne Huff at the
- 21:23Speaker 1: Vanity Fair party. It was so cool and I loved it.
- 21:28Speaker 1: It looks cozy and it felt like it seems like
- 21:31Speaker 1: it was comfortable but still very chic. It screams la la.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I would have totally done my hair very differently. I
- 21:39Speaker 1: would have given more sex hair. She's got like a short,
- 21:42Speaker 1: little half up do going, But I think that's who
- 21:45Speaker 1: I would have chosen to wear. I also really loved
- 21:50Speaker 1: Lily Rose depths outfit for the Oscars. Didn't love what
- 21:53Speaker 1: she wore to the Vanity Fair party, but I loved
- 21:57Speaker 1: her little number on the red cart it. You know
- 22:01Speaker 1: what I'm talking about?
- 22:02Speaker 2: No, I do, I do?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, she looked freaking bomb and she's so cool.
- 22:07Speaker 2: You know.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Can I tell you what is weirding me out? The
- 22:11Speaker 1: really short bangs? It happened again with Katie Perry.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Do they just walk in and say, hey, mangle this.
- 22:21Speaker 1: No, I think it's a it's got to be a wig.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Nobody would cut their bans, you guys, I'm talking to.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Like here, well, we do know somebody who did that?
- 22:29Speaker 1: My daughter? Well, yes, and but not that short. I
- 22:33Speaker 1: mean even I didn't cut Gaga did it?
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:37Speaker 1: But go Go's so freaking cool.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Gaga is like the same. She's in the boat of
- 22:42Speaker 2: and please remind me of her name, the girl who
- 22:44Speaker 2: Julia Fox. Yes, with the hair on her dress, it's
- 22:46Speaker 2: not weird because it's her right.
- 22:49Speaker 1: No, you're right, you're like cover the face weird track lady. Okay, yeah, no,
- 22:56Speaker 1: you're absolutely right.
- 22:58Speaker 2: For me, I would have chose Jeremy Strong okay, his
- 23:02Speaker 2: outfit loved it, or just Adrian and Brody.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Okay, so those would be what you would feel most
- 23:08Speaker 1: comfortable in.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I like the color is great. Yeah, you know,
- 23:13Speaker 2: but you can't go wrong with just like a black tux.
- 23:16Speaker 1: That's very true. You know, when in doubt, stick to
- 23:19Speaker 1: what you know. Yeah, this is a throwback Award moment.
- 23:25Speaker 1: But when John Travolta totally fucked up Idina Menzel's name
- 23:29Speaker 1: and called her Adele dezine, he did. I think she
- 23:34Speaker 1: was about to perform, and he goes Adele doze and
- 23:37Speaker 1: then he kind of stops and just in go, that's
- 23:40Speaker 1: something that I would do.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Teleprompter. I suddenly forget how to read, yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Because you're so worried about how everything's coming off.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Yes, really a Nora Best Picture. So I didn't see it.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I'm familiar with Mikey Madison because I watched a show
- 23:56Speaker 1: back in the day on Fox and.
- 24:00Speaker 2: What show won? Sorry, I want to see that. After
- 24:04Speaker 2: at won, I looked up, like, just you know, it
- 24:08Speaker 2: looks amazing. Oh, I think it's gonna be like.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I always have to wait for things to calm down
- 24:15Speaker 1: before I can get into it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Guess what else I loved that I haven't finished, But Parasite.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Parasite was great that one. A few years ago. I
- 24:23Speaker 1: watched that.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I had no idea about it one, and I was like, oh,
- 24:26Speaker 2: I gotta, I gotta check this out.
- 24:28Speaker 1: We should watch Anora because it took Best Picture. People
- 24:31Speaker 1: weren't thrilled about that though. However, this person said, people
- 24:35Speaker 1: are annoyed Wicked didn't win more awards, but there is
- 24:37Speaker 1: a sequel coming out. It could win next And that's very,
- 24:41Speaker 1: very true.
- 24:42Speaker 2: But I still don't think that just because there's a
- 24:45Speaker 2: sequel coming out doesn't mean you.
- 24:47Speaker 1: People were up in arms that Wicked didn't take more.
- 24:51Speaker 2: And that's the thing. I can't have an opinion because
- 24:55Speaker 2: I've seen Wicked here and there background noise when like
- 24:58Speaker 2: Ocean's watching it or what Okay, haven't seen Norah Noura. Yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 2: but for Anora to win over like for Best Picture,
- 25:10Speaker 2: to see what Wicked was doing, like it really was unreal.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Well, and you have to remember a lot of these movies,
- 25:19Speaker 1: it always goes to the one that you didn't feel
- 25:22Speaker 1: was like the heavy Hitter.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I'm glad you said that because I said that to
- 25:26Speaker 2: Landon because he was like, I wonder if this and
- 25:28Speaker 2: he named like the two big ones, and I was like, no,
- 25:30Speaker 2: I was like, I know it's going to be something
- 25:33Speaker 2: out of left field. Yeah that it's amazing. I'm not
- 25:38Speaker 2: going to say that it isn't. But it's so under
- 25:40Speaker 2: the radar that no one knows about it.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Right, And that's usually how the oscars go. And I
- 25:47Speaker 1: just I don't see it winning next year Wicked like
- 25:51Speaker 1: whenever they not. I don't know when they're releasing the sequel,
- 25:55Speaker 1: but I just don't know that it'll.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And that's what take it to me, Like you can't go, oh, well, Wicked,
- 26:00Speaker 2: it would have won, but they're gonna have a sequel,
- 26:02Speaker 2: so we'll just win them on that. It's like, well,
- 26:04Speaker 2: you don't. A lot of people who were on Wicked
- 26:06Speaker 2: may not be on Wickeds Too, or whatever they choose
- 26:10Speaker 2: to call it, and you're taking that away from, you know,
- 26:13Speaker 2: hard working people who were behind the scenes, right, And
- 26:17Speaker 2: that's where I'm like, if that is the case, I
- 26:20Speaker 2: just don't see it happening.
- 26:22Speaker 1: No, you know, like we got the story. People are
- 26:26Speaker 1: gonna be up in arms that we're saying this. I
- 26:28Speaker 1: have to see both. But even then, what I think
- 26:31Speaker 1: is great is never a movie is not a movie
- 26:34Speaker 1: that's ever gonna be like up for in Oscar.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah, like my favorite movies compared to other people's. Like
- 26:40Speaker 2: I'm like, people are like, what do you love? I'm
- 26:41Speaker 2: like Ted and Ted two those are my fucking go
- 26:44Speaker 2: tosy like Oscar worthy movies. I'm like, yes, that's why
- 26:47Speaker 2: I watched Ted and tedtoo. Fuck you know, like I
- 26:51Speaker 2: just like easy films and like Landing. Yeah. Oh, like
- 26:57Speaker 2: I I wish I could appreciate.
- 26:59Speaker 1: The Portuguese he was talking about that was He was like,
- 27:02Speaker 1: it's one of the best films I've ever seen. I'm like,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I will get around to watching it, but probably years
- 27:06Speaker 1: from that.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yeah, like when I'm not reading a book because I
- 27:08Speaker 2: have to read that movie.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I love reading a book, So if I have to
- 27:13Speaker 1: read a movie, that's fine.
- 27:15Speaker 2: So but Wicked, I I do you think that Wicked
- 27:19Speaker 2: was so shoved in our faces for so long that
- 27:21Speaker 2: that's why it was a lot.
- 27:23Speaker 1: It was very commercial and usually Oscar winners are not commercial.
- 27:27Speaker 2: So like our gyle, you're.
- 27:32Speaker 1: The Dualifa thing that I did?
- 27:34Speaker 2: Yeah I did? Yeah, who didn't do something for that shit? Easton?
- 27:38Speaker 1: Don't be rude.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry. The only people that, like, I can see
- 27:43Speaker 2: if Wicked didn't win, maybe that's the only reason.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you. Anyway, it was a great film.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I thought overall Anora it winning did get me to go.
- 27:53Speaker 1: You know what, I really really want to see this.
- 27:56Speaker 1: And I like Mikey Madison, who is the main character
- 28:01Speaker 1: in Anora, and I'm familiar with her because I used
- 28:03Speaker 1: to watch a show called Better Things on Fox and
- 28:06Speaker 1: it was about a single mom with four children. She
- 28:10Speaker 1: was in Hollywood, living in LA raising four girls, and
- 28:14Speaker 1: I just liked it because it was a show where
- 28:15Speaker 1: you felt like you were a fly on the wall
- 28:17Speaker 1: and I love that relatable as fuck. You guys, thank
- 28:21Speaker 1: you for listening to another bonus episode of the Give
- 28:24Speaker 1: Them Alla podcast. We're gonna catch you on Wednesday and
- 28:26Speaker 1: then again on Monday. Hope you have the best week
