- Angelina: We do. you Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So strap in because we're about to take off. ⁓ Something very exciting is happening next week. It sure is. So you are listening to this, ⁓ probably on maybe a Friday, if you're listening to it on the day it comes out. And if you keep your ears peeled, you will hear something even more wonderful in a week. Kristen, do you want to tell them what's coming? It deserves it. deserves it. It does. ⁓ And what, you know, I, ⁓ we've been having amazing weather. The sun is coming out. It's warmer. ⁓ Even just hearing that the name, the title of the song makes me just feel like I'm ready, ready for spring. So obviously no one's heard this yet unless they're in your tight circle and they've gotten to hear demos and early versions of it. ⁓ Can you give us a little, like just like a little sound bite tease? Wow. Hmm. And you know, sometimes it, if you're not in the process of making art regularly, like hearing that, that, you know, you had this first version of the song two years ago and here we, know, here we are two years later and you're finally getting to share it with the world. Like that can feel like such a long process, but I'm curious to hear from you, you know, what did it look like in those two years for you to take it from that first idea into like what the finished product that it'll be to get released. Hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Hmm. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Mmm. Mmm. Wow. So I'm curious if you remember what maybe the first line was that came to you, or was it, you when you're in your songwriting process, is that how it happens? Like a line comes to you and like the words follow it. Does it start with a feeling? Like what does that, like, can you take us into your process a little bit more? Mmm. Mm-hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Mmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. So then, you you mentioned that that day you went into the studio and you were like, actually, we got to work on this. ⁓ How do you take what you hear and what all of this inspiration and you you said, don't talk to me, ⁓ I'm downloading. How do you take all of this then and hand that to someone to make music out of it? Hmm. Mmm. Mmm. Yeah. Hmm. Mmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Mmm. Mmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, and ⁓ I'm very interested in that. Because I feel like for myself, when I'm creating something, it's such a deeply personal thing. And so even for me, my medium is writing primarily in an essay form, giving that to someone to edit. That's a very vulnerable thing to do, because you've built this thing. You know why you've done certain things. And now you're asking someone to put their perspective on top of it and provide feedback. And so when I think about you going into the studio and giving that to a producer, and like you said, you know, we speak two different languages. How do you retain your vision or is there parts of it where you feel like, okay, I need to incorporate his vision into this. What does that process look like? Hmm. Hmm. Mmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mmm, wow. Hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mmm. Hmm. Mmm. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. And it's, you know, building trust and building a type of collaboration that allows the work to flow. Like, that takes time. And I think sometimes we give up too quickly when we're used to working solo and then suddenly the work becomes a collaborative effort. Um, so I'm curious for you, know, you said that there was this period in your life where music was, did become very much just a personal thing where it was mostly for you and I'm sure for Nick, um, around the house, but I'm curious, you know, how, like, how have you felt through that transition of, taking your work and your art into a more public space, into a collaborative space? Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yep. Hmm. Mmm. Yes. Cool. Yeah. Well, there's gonna be at least one other person. Me? Well, so then there's several. There's several. look, I... Yes, it's gonna be... I... Yeah, I think ⁓ I'm sure that listeners to the pod are just like... Like, it's just exciting to see this part of you be given as much attention as all the other parts of you. ⁓ So I'm curious, you know, for people who, as they're like listening, I'm just imagining like myself listening to this and getting amped up and being like, I have to wait a week for this. That's cruel. That's a little cruel. But you know what? It's good to be patient. ⁓ But I'm curious, know, as you're releasing this single, but all of this is leading up to part one of the album release in April. ⁓ Why was Bloom chosen as the first single of this part? Mm. Yo. Mmm. Yeah. Mmm. Yup. Hmm. So it almost feels like you mentioned earlier that this song was written before your mental health emergency. It almost feels like you were, and I think you had mentioned this offline, that you were kind of writing what you would need down the road. Given that, we can never, like you said, so subjective, we can never. guarantee that people will take away from our work what we hope that they will. But I'm also just like curious to hear what do you hope that people will take from this song? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm, that's beautiful. ⁓ You know, before we transition out of this episode, I'm curious if you would first tell us where we can find the song next week. And then also if you would maybe do us the honor of just giving us like a little bit. A line or two. Yeah. Yeah. A little, a little snack on top of the snack. We do. Oof, oof. Yeah. Yes! What an accomplishment. Mm. Mmm. Chef's kiss. Listen, listen. I'm like getting tears just from that little bit. ⁓ And I've gotten to hear some demos and I'm telling y'all, I'm telling you, I'm telling you, do not miss this. Like you gotta tune in. I mean, it is such like a, like you said, it's such a song that ⁓ makes you feel seen. in the hardness, there's such like a push pull between, for me, like there's not, it's not just a song about being in the hardness. It's like, there's like this promise of what comes after. And so I'm. That part. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So I personally am also very excited for people to get a little treat for their ears and make sure that you follow Kristen on whatever streaming platform you tune into. Give it a thumbs up. Share it. Send it to your loved ones. People need to hear this song. Yes. ⁓ Mm-hmm. Yeah. ⁓ Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Kristin Carver Smith: So thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
