- 10:24Speaker 2: the hour the news when you listen to ninety seven
- 10:27Speaker 2: point one wash Chef m thank you in advance. We're
- 10:31Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning and coming up in
- 10:32Speaker 2: just a few minutes.
- 10:33Speaker 8: Uh.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Oh, you threw down the gauntlet with your husband Don
- 10:37Speaker 4: and you've given him a deadline. That's oh, are you guys?
- 10:41Speaker 3: Okay, if anyone who's ever had a sleep divorce will
- 10:44Speaker 3: understand why.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Ooh, stay there.
- 10:48Speaker 2: More on the way ladies and gentlemen gather around Toby
- 10:53Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning at ninety seven point one
- 10:55Speaker 2: wash CHEFM when Chilly says she wants to talk about
- 10:58Speaker 2: throwing the gauntlet down with her husband and setting a deadline,
- 11:01Speaker 2: that to me means there's a disturbance in the force
- 11:04Speaker 2: over at the amar cul de sac.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Chili, take it away.
- 11:08Speaker 5: You've heard of a sleep divorce.
- 11:09Speaker 3: That's when married couples sleep separately for peace and quiet
- 11:13Speaker 3: for many different reasons. And my husband and I have
- 11:17Speaker 3: done that off and on throughout our marriage, Okay, mostly
- 11:20Speaker 3: because he snores and I have very limited time to
- 11:24Speaker 3: get quality sleep anyway, and sometimes when he's not feeling well,
- 11:28Speaker 3: his congestion makes it worse, I know.
- 11:31Speaker 5: So usually our sleep divorces are only when we're sick.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:34Speaker 3: So when we had the flu over the holiday, it's right,
- 11:37Speaker 3: your whole family went down for two weeks. I was
- 11:40Speaker 3: blissfully sleeping by myself, well the dog, and it was
- 11:44Speaker 3: such an amazing experience that I actually said to Dawn,
- 11:49Speaker 3: I said, listen, you have been told by a doctor
- 11:53Speaker 3: that you should probably have a sleep study because we
- 11:56Speaker 3: suspect you may have sleep apnea. Yes, so I said,
- 12:00Speaker 3: I don't think we should share a bed again until
- 12:04Speaker 3: you make that appointment and go and get your seatpap.
- 12:07Speaker 5: But whatever it is you need, that's.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Right, that's I mean, that's more than just a week
- 12:13Speaker 3: or two.
- 12:14Speaker 4: That's not throwing down the gauntlet. That's an ultimatum. But
- 12:18Speaker 4: he really is.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I mean, and he's and by the way, he didn't
- 12:21Speaker 3: push back much. And I will say that he did
- 12:25Speaker 3: make an appointment. Now the bad news is, unfortunately the
- 12:30Speaker 3: wait time is pretty intense, Like the first available appointment
- 12:34Speaker 3: is April, then another one said March. So no matter
- 12:38Speaker 3: what we're looking at, it could be three to four
- 12:40Speaker 3: months before we're sharing a bed at least during the week.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I don't care about the weekends, right, you snore away and.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Whatever Friday night, Saturday.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Trust me, I was going to say, he's probably going
- 12:55Speaker 3: to have better sleep too. So in the end, it's
- 12:57Speaker 3: going to be a win win win for everybody.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Your lips to God's ears, I hope. Otherwise there's going
- 13:02Speaker 2: to be another ultimatum, poor and all out war at
- 13:05Speaker 2: the Amar Household on the Amark Hold to sack Over
- 13:07Speaker 2: in beautiful Vienna near Tyson's America's Next Great City. It's
- 13:11Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. If you have any
- 13:13Speaker 2: help or thoughts you want to throw Chili's way, you
- 13:16Speaker 2: know the number. We're listening eight six six ninet two
- 13:18Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one where Toby and Chilli in
- 13:20Speaker 2: the Morning Talkback's wide open for you too. Stay with
- 13:23Speaker 2: us because coming up in just a few minutes, there's
- 13:26Speaker 2: a mall in China. They're using tech to shame people.
- 13:29Speaker 2: The Internet's on all sides talking about this. They're up
- 13:33Speaker 2: in arms. Will tell you what it is that they're doing,
- 13:36Speaker 2: why they're doing it, and then there's the whole shame factor.
- 13:38Speaker 2: We'll talk about it next. Shame Shame ninety seven point
- 13:44Speaker 2: one wash CHEFM. It's Toby and Chili in the Morning.
- 13:46Speaker 2: There's a Chinese mall that wants to shame you if
- 13:49Speaker 2: you smoke in the bathroom, and they've done something pretty
- 13:52Speaker 2: cool with technology. They've got restroom doors that turn it
- 13:56Speaker 2: transparent so they're like smoked or frosted, no pun intended smoke.
- 13:59Speaker 2: And when they detect cigarettes smoke whom clear and everybody
- 14:04Speaker 2: can see you doing what you're doing in.
- 14:07Speaker 4: There, that's right.
- 14:08Speaker 3: They can take a picture of you and they can
- 14:10Speaker 3: broadcast it on social media. Now, I will say there
- 14:13Speaker 3: are signs and even announcements that come on if they
- 14:16Speaker 3: detect you smoking, saying warning, warning, you're about to be exposed.
- 14:20Speaker 3: So anybody who wants to take that chance, they're going
- 14:23Speaker 3: to take that chance.
- 14:24Speaker 5: You used to smoke, Yeah, would this.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Have deterred you from lighting up in a stall to
- 14:30Speaker 3: try to hide that you're smoking.
- 14:32Speaker 4: I followed the rules. I went outside.
- 14:34Speaker 2: The thing about this chili that makes me go hmmm
- 14:38Speaker 2: is that you know it's illegal in a lot of
- 14:40Speaker 2: places to smoke indoors. Now, management of the mall in
- 14:44Speaker 2: China they said that fines and bands did not stop
- 14:47Speaker 2: the habits. So that's when they said, you know what,
- 14:49Speaker 2: we're going to publicly shame people, and we're going to
- 14:51Speaker 2: tell you we're going to do it. And I don't
- 14:54Speaker 2: know exactly how I feel about that, because addiction is
- 14:57Speaker 2: a thing. But you know, at the same point in time,
- 15:00Speaker 2: people who are smokers know what the rules are.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Absolutely, if you, when you were a smoker went outside
- 15:06Speaker 3: to do it, then so can they. They don't need
- 15:09Speaker 3: to be hiding out in bathrooms and smoking. But we
- 15:11Speaker 3: will have to wait and see if this is an
- 15:13Speaker 3: effective approach, and by the way, if it is, you
- 15:15Speaker 3: better believe a lot of other people will adopt the
- 15:17Speaker 3: same technology.
- 15:18Speaker 2: That's right, thoughts eight six, six, nine two, seven forty
