A wildfire known as the Old Trails Fire tore through Spokane’s Indian Trail neighborhood overnight, joining two other blazes to cause massive evacuations and destruction northwest of downtown—thankfully with no fatalities. Governor Bob Ferguson has declared a statewide emergency and imposed a burn ban until September 30th due to extreme drought, heat, and wind conditions that fuel rapid fire spread.
