- 0:23chickens Hey everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:29coop. So today's question for you, who
- 0:32do you look up to? This is a very serious question
- 0:35because I think that most of us don't necessarily consider and
- 0:40take an inventory of who we actually admire, who we look up
- 0:44to, who we put up on. I don't even want to say, some
- 0:48sort of a pedestal, but may be some sort of a pedestal, where
- 0:50we think that this person is the bomb, yet, we know very little
- 0:54About this person and where this really comes into play is with
- 0:58celebrity. So not saying that you're doing
- 1:01this with celebrity but it really does come into play with
- 1:03celebrity because you don't know, the people, the way you
- 1:07think, you know, the people and having been in an industry for a
- 1:11very long time, working with tons of different speakers and
- 1:15authors and trainers. You, you tend to think because
- 1:20you read their book or you've seen them live or you've, you
- 1:24know, Had some touch points of maybe at a conference with them
- 1:28that you know them. Well, let me ask you this.
- 1:32Do you really even know the people that you have in your own
- 1:35personal life, you know, we always think we're so shocked
- 1:38when we hear on the news that somebody, our neighbor did
- 1:41something will say, oh, everybody always says the same
- 1:44thing. Oh, he was such a nice guy or
- 1:45no, he never showed any signs of anything.
- 1:48Well, that just always comes back to the statement that I
- 1:51made a few seconds ago. And I said, well, do we ever
- 1:54really know? Anybody.
- 1:55And I think it's valid especially when you're in the
- 1:59position of talking about, who do you look up to?
- 2:02Because this is vital, if this is part of your decision making
- 2:06process and you're looking for someone that you look up to in
- 2:11order to ask advice from or get direction from or just get
- 2:15opinions from and you don't even know the person yet you are
- 2:21really trying to get them to help you.
- 2:24So it puts us in a position where we have to stop and pause
- 2:29and we have to ask okay, who are the people that I think I know
- 2:34really well and who are the people that I really want to
- 2:37take advice from who do I want to put on my Advisory Board
- 2:41Napoleon Hill talked about having an Advisory Board met and
- 2:44many great thinkers have. He's not the only one but he had
- 2:47a very unique view of it and he actually would go to think about
- 2:53what somebody who had He passed away, dead people are his
- 2:56Advisory board. If you've ever read the book
- 2:59outwitting, The Devil, then you'll know he talks about this
- 3:02in that book and I mean I don't think it's a bad idea on any
- 3:06stretch of the means because you can basically say this is the
- 3:10person's character. This is the person that I know
- 3:13from the biographies or whatever and project and that is
- 3:17completely possible and you are using the projections from the
- 3:20best of the person. So to speak as opposed to when
- 3:23you are dealing with a Whole person right now, you don't know
- 3:26if they have ulterior motives, you don't know if they have
- 3:29other things going on behind the scenes.
- 3:31So why is this so important to us?
- 3:33Why is it that we need to pay attention to this kind of thing?
- 3:37Because it doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal.
- 3:40You know, if the person gives you advice, you don't have to
- 3:42use it. Well, if they have influence
- 3:43over you, it's a big deal. And if you are constantly
- 3:47looking outside of yourself for answers, then the question you
- 3:52have to come back to is why what Reason that you're always
- 3:56driving back to outside yourself, is it that you have a
- 4:00certain amount of distrust in yourself?
- 4:03Do you have a certain amount of, you know, just feeling ill?
- 4:08He's about things and you just don't have certainty.
- 4:12So you're looking for it. Well, that presents a bigger
- 4:15question itself of, is there a way for you to start to create
- 4:19certainty in your own decisions? Because ultimately, that's what
- 4:23you want to be able to do you want To be able to make
- 4:25decisions for yourself and you want to be able to make
- 4:27decisions that make you feel good and move you towards your
- 4:32directive, towards your goals towards your outcomes.
- 4:35And if you're constantly looking to people who are outside of you
- 4:40for that recognition or that affirmation of, yes, this is a
- 4:45good direction to go. You're probably going to run
- 4:48into a lot of roadblocks because most people will inherently, you
- 4:53can't get around. We'll give you the negatives of
- 4:56things and that's because human beings are hard-wired to find
- 5:00what's wrong. So people aren't doing it to be
- 5:02me. They aren't doing it to be
- 5:04destructive. Albeit some do that and there
- 5:06are ill intent, really, it comes from a fact that we are trying
- 5:11to protect everybody. You know, we always look for
- 5:13what's wrong, so we can protect ourselves.
- 5:16But in this case, you're supposed to be able to support
- 5:21yourself internally, figure out what you need in terms.
- 5:24Turn Ali and do what's best for you.
- 5:26And that always starts from that place, inside deep inside.
- 5:30And figuring out, is this right for me, without anybody else's
- 5:34opinions, influencing you do? I think it's great to go out and
- 5:39get different opinions. Yes.
- 5:42Do I think you should listen to them all?
- 5:43No, I think it's a collective. I think if you trust to someone
- 5:48and you really want to ask them, you have to ask yourself what's
- 5:51the reason I trust this person? I think it is an excellent.
- 5:54Sighs to have in your mind or even on paper.
- 5:58A formulated trusted Advisory board that you go to to ask
- 6:03opinions. I have that in my life and I,
- 6:07it's very small. Let me be very clear about this.
- 6:10This board is very small, and there are only a few people on
- 6:14that board. And I will ask questions of
- 6:16them, because I know that they will give me their true
- 6:18opinions, unfiltered, albeit, sometimes they're hard to hear
- 6:23and I know, Know that I can still make my decision and
- 6:26whatever my decision is they will support me in those
- 6:29decisions but I have them and then it's a question of.
- 6:32Well, what do I want to do myself?
- 6:34So I'm going to give you guys that as a homework assignment.
- 6:38Go off, figure out who do I look up to and actually write down
- 6:42the reasons why you look up to those people and make sure that
- 6:47those people are worthy of being in this position.
- 6:50Being somebody that you should look up to and even if They're
- 6:54not in your personal life. Even if there are people who are
- 6:58out there that are, you know, celebrities you should put that
- 7:01on the piece of paper. If you look up to somebody and
- 7:04say, what's the reason I look up to this person really figure it
- 7:07out because you really don't know a whole person's life
- 7:09behind the scenes and it's important if you're trying to
- 7:11emulate them and you like what they're producing in their life
- 7:15and you want to emulate that in your life, you better know all
- 7:18the aspects of it before you decide to take them on as an
- 7:22advisor in your mind. And really say, oh, this is what
- 7:26I'm trying to do because you don't know the whole scene.
- 7:28So do your research. Make sure it within yourself,
- 7:31you know, who you look up to whether it's in your personal
- 7:34life, or celebrity life, professional whatever, it might
- 7:38be. Make sure you really do the
- 7:40research and choose and finitely pick those attributes that you
- 7:44want to borrow, but nothing more.
- 7:46All right, I will talk to you guys tomorrow.
- 7:48Have a great day. Bye.
