- 2:00out a four to three Patrese Gripple and it is another chat night now you
- 2:06guys, I got a little coal, so please excuse me. Okay,
- 2:09but I couldnot stop my coal, just like it won't stop me for letting
- 2:16you guys meet a new author. You guys, now, this one is
- 2:22going to be the mind of the patrisis because her name is Patrice also and
- 2:29she's a doctor. Tell you we're smart and we beautiful, but she's taken.
- 2:35I'm not so how you doing? So, you guys, I would
- 2:39like to introduce to you doctor Patrise Jackson, and she's gonna talk to us
- 2:45about her book. Okay, come on up, miss Jackson. Patrice Jackson,
- 2:52Hey, mama, my fellow Patrese. Hey, queen, thank you
- 2:55so much for having me. Oh, thank you for coming, Patrice.
- 3:00I'm gonna be saying Patrise all night, all y'all. I think, out
- 3:04of my whole life, I might have met three other patriss at the library.
- 3:14Yeah, that's it, So it is so. And none of them
- 3:16were white. Me. All of them were white. So you were the
- 3:21first African American Patriss I have ever met. Wow. Yes, well,
- 3:27here we are, here we are, and we're gonna talk about your book
- 3:31Disturbing burnout m But first you gotta tell us a little bit about yourself,
- 3:42yes, ma'am. Well, I am doctor Patrice Buckner. Jackson. But
- 3:46you all can call me PBJ. That's what everybody calls me. I'm an
- 3:51educator. I've been in education for twenty five years, specifically in colleges and
- 3:57universities. Patrise. I work my way up to vice president. There's really
- 4:02no professional goal that I set that I have not accomplished, and Sister,
- 4:09it almost cost me everything. Hold on, now, don't think you could
- 4:14stop right there. If you're mind, I don't mind. You got to
- 4:18give us some backstory. This is where this book came from. So they
- 4:26said get the doctorate. I got it. They said keep working hard and
- 4:30get promoted. I did. They said take all the assignments. I did
- 4:34all of the things that I've been taught throughout the years that a professional woman
- 4:39does, that a successful woman does. I was checking off all the boxes.
- 4:45I'll never forget. August twenty nineteen, Patrice, I was driving to
- 4:48work. I could barely see for the tears in my eyes. I had
- 4:53got my highest promotion ever. I was vice president. Pulled into work fancy
- 4:59part and space just as signed to me. Girl, I had to sit
- 5:02in that fancy parking space and fix my face and put my makeup back on
- 5:08because I didn't know if I could handle it anymore. When I got myself
- 5:13together, went into the student center, hugging students, good morning, how
- 5:17are you you didn't come see me yesterday? All the things. It was
- 5:21all I could do to get behind the door of that beautiful office, and
- 5:27I fell apart. I crumbled, PATRICEA. I was holding on to the
- 5:32edge of my wooden desk because I didn't even feel like I could hold my
- 5:35own weight up anymore. What I really wanted to do was crawl under that
- 5:41desk and lay there in the fetal position. But I was so ashamed.
- 5:46I thought, what are they gonna think if they find me here? Friend?
- 5:50When I got myself together, I picked up the phone and I called
- 5:55my husband and I tried to explain to him what was happening. I'm sure
- 5:59I wasn't making a lot of sense, but at some point he interrupted me.
- 6:02He said, go home. I'll meet you at the house. Just
- 6:05go home. Well, since it was August, we had parents moving their
- 6:12kids in, I had a lobby full of students with problems. I had
- 6:16staff members calling my cell phone. It was all happening, and I remember
- 6:23telling him I can't go home. I can't go home. And at some
- 6:26point I started saying, I can't stop, I can't stop, I can't
- 6:30stop. He interrupted me again, he said, go home. I'll be
- 6:33home in ten minutes. Meet me there. Patrese something and May clicked.
- 6:40I got off the phone. I typed a letter. I printed that letter.
- 6:46I went to where my president was in a meeting. I waited till
- 6:51that meeting was award and when that door, I handed in my letter and
- 6:58I left that campus. Into this day, I have not been back that
- 7:03campus except I'm going back in a couple of weeks on my book tour.
- 7:12I'm going back. I'm going back to have a private gathering with some of
- 7:17the people that I left, because I need to tell them what I've learned
- 7:21since I walked away. Wow, I've heard of that. I've heard of
- 7:32that at my job. I've heard of that a lot. There has been
- 7:44people who've been retiring and I ain't know going well, these people have more
- 7:49years in them, But every time I've talked to them, they're like,
- 7:54I have to go yes, and I kind of I've been there. I've
- 8:03been there. I've been there to the point where you felt like, Okay,
- 8:07I just can't do this, and I just can't. And I've now
- 8:15started to pace myself. So first of all, your book is on my
- 8:20to read book list. I've said that the point people, Oh your book
- 8:22is on my to read list. This book has to be on my to
- 8:28read list because with nineteen years in and all the stuff that I've seen coming
- 8:33and going and working at libraries and hearing about all the book bannings and all
- 8:39this, it gets very like, hey, I got time for this right
- 8:45now. So even at work, I'm st up dance. Matter of fact,
- 8:50this is crazy. I spoke to my manager and we all were just
- 8:56sitting in the back in the office top and we were like, look,
- 8:58we just are not motivated today. I said, I can usually read this
- 9:03teen book, come up with the questions and have no problem, but I
- 9:07am just not motivated, and so I just started doing something else. Okay,
- 9:13And I understand that when you said take all the assignments, do this,
- 9:20and do that, I was doing that. Yeah, I won this
- 9:24award that's considered the employee of the year. I sit back and everybody's like,
- 9:31you deserve it. But the only reason why I really was crying because
- 9:35it was the anniversary of my mom's death, and the award was named after
- 9:39my best friend who was killed in a very tragic way. So when I
- 9:43think about what I've done, it's like, Okay, yeah, I do
- 9:46it because you know, this is what's required of me. So I totally
- 9:52understand. Get where are you coming from? You just said something, You
- 9:58just said something. We got to bring some attention to it because when you
- 10:01say, you know, we were sitting there and I know how to do
- 10:03this task. I could do it with my eyes closed, like it's not
- 10:07a hard thing. It's something I've done so many times. But all of
- 10:11a sudden, in this moment, I don't feel like I can do it.
- 10:13That's what I call a tael te l L. We gotta pay attention
- 10:18to our tails, our symptoms, because burnout doesn't just happen. It doesn't
- 10:24just show up one day. It's what I call a cycle of burnout,
- 10:30right, And I want everybody to hear, whether you have a doctor degree
- 10:33or not, you might be in the cycle of burnout. Especially. This
- 10:37affects all human beings. But the research shows us that women report a higher
- 10:43level of burnout than anybody else. And here's why. Because there's no off
- 10:50time, there's no stop. When you get off. You are just going
- 10:56to your next responsibility. You leave work and you go to the te ball
- 11:01field, or you go to the dance recital, or you go home to
- 11:03cook, or even if you're not working full time, you might be a
- 11:07caregiver. You might have small babies at the house. The demand doesn't stop.
- 11:13Oh my god. So in the cycle of burnout, right in the
- 11:18cycle of burnout, the first phase I call surviving. In surviving, you
- 11:22know the pressure is a lot, You know the weight it's on you.
- 11:26You can physically feel it. And in surviving you wake up and you let
- 11:30Lord give me strength to do it one more day. Just give me strength,
- 11:33Let me do it one more day. You're not thriving, you're not
- 11:37full of joy. You just making it. You're just making it. And
- 11:39surviving you feel like you're on the roller coaster and you really with somebody will
- 11:43stop to ride just so you can catch your breath. If we don't do
- 11:48something different in surviving, then we go to the phase I call overwhelmed.
- 11:52And overwhelm it feels like the water level of your life is rising and you
- 11:58are to keep your head above water. You are fighting and overwhelmed, your
- 12:05tails start to come out. So body aches, my grain headaches, high
- 12:11blood pressure, and not just the physical signs. We have anxiety. We
- 12:16can't rest because you know, rest and sleep is two different things. But
- 12:20just the old days that I just woke up and I was tired, okay,
- 12:24okay, sleep, but not the same thing. This morning, friend,
- 12:30this morning, like my uncle calls. She's like, oh, you
- 12:33know my daughter's name, and I am. I ain't hatch rehearsal. It's
- 12:37me. You should see me in the bad contemplate my life. Okay,
- 12:39friend, you're gonna go to this rehearsal. She told me. I don't
- 12:43want to go out. Well you're going, so I told her. I
- 12:46said, look for the rest of the day after my podcast, I am
- 12:50literally going to lay back and figure out who gonna die or raising keenan because
- 12:56that's my way of rest. Yes, I want to see the end.
- 13:03No spoilers, no spoilers. We won't talk about it, so you look
- 13:07at it too. I haven't seen it, no, but I'm just telling
- 13:09the people. Don't spoil your joy. Don't y'all. Don't do that to
- 13:13me. Don't do that. But I totally understand, and I do feel
- 13:16as more women because I find myself my first job starts at five o'clock,
- 13:26okay, And while we're doing fibbing in prayer, I'm eyeing clothes for my
- 13:31daughter and ironing clothes for myself. Sometimes you're sitting up a curl on my
- 13:35head. I know there's some burn marks back there because I fell asleep at
- 13:37the curl and I my head. Six thirty shift two and getting my daughter
- 13:43ready and then off the work, and then after work go pick her up
- 13:48from practice, then come home then and do homework. Then I totally understand,
- 13:54and it is a lot of women. So what do we do?
- 13:58How does your keep us the like you say, the lifeline, yeah,
- 14:07of finding that purpose? How does your book steer us there? Yeah?
- 14:11Yeah. So we talked about surviving, and we talked about overwhelmed. That
- 14:15last phase it is burnout. If you don't do something different then overwhelmed.
- 14:20Then burnout is the involuntary shutdown. Something breaks. Right when I left my
- 14:26job that day, Patrice, I did not go to work saying I'm gonna
- 14:30quit today, like this is it. It wasn't a plan. It was
- 14:33a moment like When I heard Edward say go home, something in me said,
- 14:37I have had enough, and I truly believed. I believe that if
- 14:41I did not leave at that moment, I would not have been able to
- 14:46leave under my own power. Somebody would have had to come get me.
- 14:50I told my husband, I said, I don't know what it feels like
- 14:52to lose your mind, but I feel like it's happening to me. So
- 14:56the strategies that I offer, that's why we call it disrupt things burn out,
- 15:01because we want to disrupt the cycle. We've got to break that cycle,
- 15:05not feel better, and then go back into it again, and then
- 15:09get a breath of fresh air, and then go back into it again.
- 15:11Because that's what we do. We go through a good period and we're doing
- 15:16all right, but before we know it, we back and rock bottom again.
- 15:18The strategies in this book will help you break disrupt that cycle so you
- 15:26don't continue in the cycle. We call it the heart work strategies because it's
- 15:33it's more than a facial it's more than self care, it's more than taking
- 15:37a walk. Time management is not enough. I had three calendars when I
- 15:41fell apart in twenty nineteen, and none of them prevented me from falling apart.
- 15:46And here's another thing I hear often, especially when we're addressing black women,
- 15:50we talk about resilience. You need to be more resilient. Let me
- 15:54tell you something. The people, and it's not just black women. I'm
- 15:58telling you this is a fandmic, but the people that I serve, they
- 16:03know how to fall and get back up. They know how to be pushed
- 16:06into a corner and find their way out. We know how to be resist
- 16:10resilient. The problem is we've had to be resilient too often. Okay,
- 16:15see you there, and so we don't need nobody else teaching us how to
- 16:19be resilient. Thank you. So these hard work strategies, there's three simple
- 16:23strategies that I teach. They're simple, but they're not easy because they are
- 16:29a different way of approaching life and work than what we've been taught. We've
- 16:33been taught we got to work ten times harder. We've been taught that you're
- 16:37not allowed to say no. We've been taught you you shouldn't rest until you're
- 16:40absolutely exhausted and can't go anymore. And we've got to address all of those
- 16:47ideas that have been passed to us and make a decision that that is not
- 16:52sustainable. We can't live that way. We're losing people left and right,
- 16:57and we sit around saying, what she was so young, what happened?
- 17:03Okay, it's time out. People are literally dying. They are literally,
- 17:11like not even exaggerating. Professional women are literally dying in their career fields because
- 17:18they don't know how to handle the weight of everything that has been put upon
- 17:22them that is so corrected. I think I don't know if she killed herself
- 17:30or she walked. No, she killed herself somewhere in a library library,
- 17:36sister. She was an African American woman. She turned around, gave her
- 17:42letter of resignation, then turned around and killed herself when she got no.
- 17:48Man, I read that article maybe two three weeks ago, and I was
- 17:56sick. Now my boss tell me go home. Well, you know what,
- 18:02people tell you to go home when you're sick. But then you think
- 18:07about, I've got this, I got this, I got this, I
- 18:11got this. You know what, you guys, We're gonna take a break
- 18:14real quick because I'm a kind of I need to talk to her, and
- 18:18we're gonna find out these We're gonna give you all the tips, but we're
- 18:21gonna give you some of these tips because you still got to get the book,
- 18:23you guys. But we're gonna take a break my story. Yeah,
- 18:30you sitting right here, So you guys come back when we get finished with
- 18:33this break. Okay, we'll be back. The book, A Song for
- 18:41Soupora, written by David Harris, is a powerful historical fiction centering around the
- 18:47life and character of Moses's future wife Zupporah before they met. Book author David
- 18:52Harris brings the reader into the relationship between Moses and Zuppora, which was gradual
- 18:56and lush. The story unfolds when Moses finally acts the Porah to marry him.
- 19:03Purchase your copy of the book detailing this authentic story A Song for Zappora
- 19:07by David Harris today. It's available online at Barnes Andnoble and Amazon dot com.
- 19:15So I told you I will come back. You guards, I'm gonna
- 19:18tell you my little story, and I apologize if you were seeing this,
- 19:22but this is me and this is how I feel. I do no less
- 19:32than maybe five programs a month by myself at my library, but there are
- 19:42others that do may be one pat on the back I started to realize that
- 19:55this was expected of me to do this many programs, and out of all
- 20:03of my nineteen years, I have never gone one month without doing the program.
- 20:10Only during the pandemic, and even when we came back during the pandemic,
- 20:14I did a tutorial. May is going to be the first month I
- 20:22do not do any programs because I felt like, this is expected of me,
- 20:30this is what they expect. Oh Patricia, you do this match,
- 20:33Oh patric you do that much, Oh patri. And then I had this,
- 20:36I had a competition. I said, you know, I'm doing all
- 20:37this in the librarian who got the degree is only doing that. Ah,
- 20:41let me step back for a second. And you go to upper and they
- 20:48say, uh, you know, talk about burnout, this, this,
- 20:52this, And I'm like, do you really are Do you really understand the
- 20:55word burnout coming from me? Because you still expect me to do these things.
- 21:00So I have to pace myself. And now that's what I'm doing them.
- 21:03I'm literally pacing myself. I'm doing programs now that matter to me.
- 21:10So one of my programs is a mindfulness program. This is what I need,
- 21:15not knowing that other people need the same thing too. Absolutely no,
- 21:21you told us these three tips. You said, three strategies. So you
- 21:25guys, go ahead and get your pen in, your paper and your pencil,
- 21:27because we're gonna give you a little bit, give me much. Yeah,
- 21:32because you still gotta go get the book. Yes, you're gonna give
- 21:34us a little little snippet. Okay, So I will, I will,
- 21:38And I want to say, I'm so proud of you, because Patrecea,
- 21:42we train people how to treat us. Yes, so they come to expect
- 21:48a certain thing from us because that's what we give. And this is not
- 21:52about not being excellent at work, like that's out of integrity. But we
- 21:56go, we push ourselves beyond excellent because we're so used to having to go
- 22:03beyond. So then the weight of the whole library, or the department,
- 22:07or of the company rest on your shoulders because everybody said, well she'll do
- 22:12it. Okay. So now let's talk about the strategies. We have three
- 22:21three hard work strategies, and again to really understand them and to practice them.
- 22:27This is not just a book that you read like you work this thing.
- 22:30And so there's a work book that is available for download. When you
- 22:37get the book for free, the work book is yours when you get the
- 22:41book, because you need to work these strategies in order to see the power
- 22:45of them in your life. The first strategy is check your backpack. Let
- 22:52me tell you what I mean. What standards, ideas, beliefs, systems
- 23:00have been taught to you, passed down to you formally or informally that are
- 23:06defining the way you show up for work or life. So those ideas that
- 23:11we've been given, I'm given. Example. I always ask folks, what
- 23:15is your definition of work and who taught you? What does it mean?
- 23:19To where I'll ask you, Patrice, what is your definition of work and
- 23:22who taught you what work means? That's a good question. Oh, I
- 23:32guess my definition of work is wow, doing what I have, doing what
- 23:42I have to do. Wow. All I can hear is what was said
- 23:52to me by a boss one time, saying, you make me, you
- 23:56make me look good, I'll make your life easy. I had a boss
- 24:02to say that to me. He said, you make me look good,
- 24:04I make your life look easy. If you make me look good, I
- 24:08will make your life easy. Listen, I think it's no, it's not
- 24:12at my current yarll you got sure? Kind of use that everywhere that I
- 24:18gom you know. And my challenge with that, Patrice, my challenge with
- 24:23that definition, and I'm so glad you said it, and I see LaTaya
- 24:26in the chat as well, making ends meet. Right, My challenge with
- 24:30that definition that that boss gave you is that could cause you to be hiding
- 24:34in playing sight because you always making somebody else look good because they taught you
- 24:41that's what your role is. That person, that person, not the people
- 24:44you with now, but that person taught you that your role is to make
- 24:48me look good. So your brilliance, your shine gets put behind a curtain
- 24:56so that you can make the other person look good. And I'm not saying
- 24:59as a think wrong with being a number two, y'all hear me. Some
- 25:02of us are anointed to be a number two. That's exactly where we're supposed
- 25:06to be. But sometimes your brilliance should be out front. Ooh, you
- 25:10saund like my manager. Now, Okay, so you got to think about
- 25:15what is your definition of work and who taught you? And here's the next
- 25:19question. Is it still in alignment with who you are? Right? So,
- 25:25I'm from Crockettville, South Carolina, girl, don't worry about it.
- 25:27If you heard of it, we cousins. It's okay, it's all right.
- 25:30Crockettville is in Hampton County. I promise you it's there. Crockettville,
- 25:36South Carolina. Crockttville is Listen, friends, look, I told you.
- 25:41I'm a South Carolina girl. Crockettville is a farming community. So work in
- 25:48Crockettville is backbreaking, sweat andducing. Like my people got up before the sun
- 25:55and they didn't come home until the sun went down. My stepdad would work
- 25:59a shift, work eight hours, twelve hours, come home, take a
- 26:02nap, then go to the field. Like in Crockettville. Work was hard
- 26:06work because it was survival. It was survival. This is how we lived.
- 26:11So I took that definition to the university setting. And in the university
- 26:15setting, I had to be the first one at work. I couldn't leave
- 26:18before everybody else was gone. I couldn't say no to any assignment because who
- 26:22am I to say no? My people still in the fields of Crockettville,
- 26:25and I'm sitting in this cushy office with the air conditioned I can't say no.
- 26:29So you want another committee, Sure, I'll do it. Another project.
- 26:33Yeah, I got it. A student crisis. Yeah, call me,
- 26:36I'll show up. And I didn't realize that that definition, although it's
- 26:41my foundation and it served me well, was killing me because although I was
- 26:48born and raised in Crockettville, I'm not called to Crockettville. I was called
- 26:55to be an educator. So I was taking a definition that no longer fit
- 27:00my life, and it was choking the life out of me. So you
- 27:06gotta recognize who taught you these lessons. Who are the people along the way
- 27:11I see? I almost say my mom, I almost said, it's providing
- 27:17for my family. Yes, and I get that. A lot people say,
- 27:19well, work is to provide for your family. I believe that.
- 27:23But I also believe that you should be working in your brilliance, like there's
- 27:27a natural brilliance that flows from you, and the work that you do should
- 27:32align with that brilliance because that brilliance is an automatic magnet for money. You
- 27:37ain't gotta worry about money when you work securely in your brilliance. But so
- 27:41many of us are doing work because we just surviving. I just gotta pay
- 27:47these bills, girl, I just gotta buy these groceries. Look, I
- 27:52ain't got time to think about no brilliance because I'm just trying to make it.
- 27:56And what I'm telling you is that fulfillment will ever come until you can
- 28:00wake up in the morning and say, I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be,
- 28:04doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing. So check your baggage.
- 28:11I'm still stuck at the working end your brumans. I'm stuck there. Yeah
- 28:18that's wow. I'm sorry, but you won't see that on my Facebook page
- 28:23please because you sound like our producer. And they said amount of two or
- 28:33three witnesses, and your number the three because I have a second witness.
- 28:37Wow. Yeah, we got it. So I gotta give you these other
- 28:44two because we're coming back to brilliance. So number one is check your baggage.
- 28:48Number two is build your boundaries. I'm not talking about one of these
- 28:52little safe, these little social media boundaries. I'm not talking about something cute
- 28:56that you write in your journal and never look at again. But you're boundary
- 29:00should be connected to what you are unwilling to lose. What are you unwilling
- 29:04to lose? Where do you draw your line? We give it all up
- 29:08for work. Patrice, my child felt like she needed an appointment to see
- 29:15me while I was running to the campus taking care of everybody else's child.
- 29:18Ooh ooh, my own health, my faith, my prayer, life was
- 29:25a mess because I was waking up checking my email, going to bed,
- 29:27checking my email. And you couldn't tell me I wasn't serving, and I
- 29:32was. I was, but it was out of balance. It was out
- 29:36of balance and it was out of order. I had no boundaries. I
- 29:41say, no boundaries. So you gotta build boundaries connected to what you are
- 29:45unwilling to lose, or you will lose it. Yeah. Speaking of daughters,
- 29:51I took off for two days at work for my daughter's recital. Yes,
- 29:56ma'am hearing me, and she said, Mommy, can you be in
- 29:57the background. That's what I'm boss. I said, look, I just
- 30:00need these two days off. One then one of the days turned into a
- 30:03storm day, so they cancer recital. But I went to my boss again,
- 30:07I say, so they're doing it on Thursday. I need to take
- 30:08this whole entire day off. Well you got a program, okay? Cool?
- 30:12And I told my daughter. I said, look, Mommy will be
- 30:15there at twelve o'clock. And at twelve o'clock I was walking through it.
- 30:18She's like, Mommy, you came. I said, I'm not gonna disappoint
- 30:22you. I'm gonna stand behind these s cirtain and watch you dance walk to
- 30:26your little legs fall off and oh yeah, the crew. I'm gonna send
- 30:30y'all video cause my baby looks so cute this video. I'mna saying that to
- 30:33y'all to night Anse. I will never forget her. Turn around, she's
- 30:38dancing. She turned around and she gave me the wink, and I was
- 30:41like, oh my baby, so yes, go ahead. Number three,
- 30:47Number three, number three, and this is the one you fell in love
- 30:49with anyway. Number three is discover your brilliance. You have an innate,
- 30:56unique brilliance like nobody else and friend, you didn't learn it and you cannot
- 31:03earn it. It flows freely from you. It's been your brilliance all your
- 31:07life. Brilliance doesn't wait until you get the degree, until you get the
- 31:11promotion, until you get the fancy job. You've been brilliant since your first
- 31:15breath, and we've got to reconnect to that brilliance, that brilliance that flows
- 31:21freely from you. Brilliance and purpose are the same thing. Brilliance and there's
- 31:26a purpose, right, Passion and purpose are different. Passion and purpose is
- 31:32different. Purpose is the who that's your brilliance. A passions are the what's
- 31:37with an as? That's what you do? And especially in American culture,
- 31:42we start asking kids as old as they can talk, what do you want
- 31:45to put you through a world? What we really mean is what are you
- 31:49going to do for money? So we start equating value with salary before a
- 31:56child can even say a complete sentence. But I'm here to tell you when
- 32:01you know that brilliance, when you know the who, you can do anything.
- 32:07It's not about the doing. The doing comes easy when you know the
- 32:10who. There is a signature, a fingerprint that you bring to every program
- 32:16that you do, Patrice, and nobody else can do it like you.
- 32:22And it doesn't mean they're not good in their own right. That it means
- 32:24they're not Patrice, they're not you. When you do a program, it
- 32:30comes out different, it will never be the same because you have an innate,
- 32:36unique brilliance, a secret sauce that you put on everything that you do.
- 32:42And once we know what our brilliance is, it frees us up from
- 32:46that overperforming overachieving, overworking comparison because there is no comparison. There's no competition
- 32:55for you. Nobody can beat you being you. And when I tell you,
- 33:00there's a power and a confidence. Not cocky, not prideful, but
- 33:06responsible. I'm responsible for this brilliance. It's my responsibility to share it with
- 33:13the world. Now that I'm aware of it, I know what this brilliance
- 33:16is. I'm responsible to pour it out, and so are you, and
- 33:20so is everybody that's listening. If there is breath in your body, you
- 33:23are brilliant. Okay, y'all just had the motivation moment of this year.
- 33:32Okay, I can't help it. Sure, you just me me, me,
- 33:38want to run laps? I can do now, Rocky lin That that's
- 33:43why I'm hearing in my head. I'm hearing the theme of Rocky Okay,
- 33:47So you just need to tell us how we can get this book. Just
- 33:53give us the rundown, because you have hit so many nails that are really
- 34:00really mothers. And I'm gonna send this show to my sister. She is
- 34:07that person and she will show up. She don't care who we are,
- 34:14why, but she gonna show up for her kids. Yeah. Uly steed
- 34:17to tell us how we're gonna get this book, ma'am. I gotta tell
- 34:21you it took me about a year to write it and edit and do all
- 34:24the things. It took me twenty years to live this thing. I poured
- 34:30twenty years of my life into this book, all the hard lessons, the
- 34:38moment that I thought was going to take me out. The fruit of that
- 34:43moment is this book. So I always say I'm not attached to a number.
- 34:50I don't have like a metric. If I want to sell this many
- 34:52books, that ain't my goal. My goal is to get this into the
- 34:57hands of every woman who needs it, because I know what it feels like
- 35:01to be drowning the burnout. I know what it feels like to live your
- 35:07life overwhelmed and you don't know how to stop it. These strategies work not
- 35:14just for me, but for all the women that I have the honor to
- 35:16walk with, and their stories are here too. So this book is available
