- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I I'm Martin, and you are listening to Dad's Bedtime Stories,
- 0:13Speaker 1: the podcast that takes listener ideas and turns them into
- 0:17Speaker 1: bedtime stories. Tonight, we'll be headed back into the Spaceship
- 0:21Speaker 1: universe based on our suggestion for today. And if you've
- 0:25Speaker 1: never listened before, all you really need to know is
- 0:29Speaker 1: that you are the main character, and you have a
- 0:32Speaker 1: magical spaceship that can take you pretty much anywhere and
- 0:36Speaker 1: do pretty much anything. The possibilities are endless. Let's check
- 0:41Speaker 1: out the suggestion.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Hi, my name is Kiara, and I would like a
- 0:46Speaker 2: story about an animal creating planet where you choose any
- 0:53Speaker 2: animal and anything such as food, other animals, or even
- 1:01Speaker 2: just things around you like laptops or controllers, and it come.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Once you've chosen those two things, it combines them and
- 1:14Speaker 2: creates a whole new animal.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I love your podcasts, and thank you for the suggestion.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It took me a little while to get my head
- 1:23Speaker 1: around how this might be created, but eventually I decided
- 1:28Speaker 1: that this might be the kind of thing that other
- 1:30Speaker 1: people would want to make suggestions for. So if you
- 1:34Speaker 1: have a suggestion for the animal creation Planet, different animals
- 1:38Speaker 1: to combine or race or you know, fly around with
- 1:42Speaker 1: or whatever. You can write to me at dad Bedtime
- 1:46Speaker 1: Stories at gmail dot com, or you can leave me
- 1:50Speaker 1: a voice message on speak pipe. The link is in
- 1:54Speaker 1: the description, or you can fill out the Google form.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Before we get started, I just.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Want to give a big shout out to some of
- 2:01Speaker 1: my newest Patreon sponsors. As many of you know, this
- 2:06Speaker 1: podcast is funded in two ways. One through ads, which
- 2:11Speaker 1: aren't my favorite, but they do provide income for the
- 2:13Speaker 1: podcast and keep it going. And two from Patreon, where
- 2:19Speaker 1: patrons get ad free episodes and any bonus content I
- 2:24Speaker 1: put as soon as I record it. Thank you to
- 2:29Speaker 1: Chloe Body and Riven for sponsoring the podcast. I really
- 2:35Speaker 1: appreciate that, guys, and I really appreciate all of my
- 2:40Speaker 1: other sponsors and all of my listeners. For those of
- 2:44Speaker 1: you not on Patreon, thank you for helping fund the
- 2:49Speaker 1: podcast by dealing with the ads, which will go right here.
- 2:54Speaker 1: If you're not on Patreon, close your eyes, get as
- 2:59Speaker 1: come as you can in that bed, and imagine yourself
- 3:03Speaker 1: doing what the kid in the story does because you
- 3:09Speaker 1: are the main character here.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You wake up on your.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Spaceship and you get a out of bed, stretch your
- 3:18Speaker 1: arms and legs, and say good morning to spaceship. Good morning, spaceship,
- 3:25Speaker 1: Good morning, spaceship replies you walk out into the main area.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Of the ship.
- 3:32Speaker 1: So have we come across any cool planets to check
- 3:37Speaker 1: out or anything like that? You ask, as you usually
- 3:41Speaker 1: do in the morning. Yes, I have found many interesting planets.
- 3:47Speaker 1: The one I suggest we check out first, I have
- 3:51Speaker 1: titled the animal creation Planet. Animal creation Planet. Oh what
- 3:58Speaker 1: do you mean by that? Well, it seems to be
- 4:03Speaker 1: a new and interesting pastime on this planet to create
- 4:08Speaker 1: new and interesting animals. Ah, okay, that seems cool, I guess.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Set a course. Spaceship sets a course for the planet.
- 4:23Speaker 1: The ship turns slightly to the left and downward a
- 4:27Speaker 1: bit and blasts off at super hyper drive, taking you
- 4:32Speaker 1: through a sort of wormhole until it eventually stops in
- 4:38Speaker 1: front of a beautiful, blue, green, and white planet, one
- 4:43Speaker 1: that honestly looks a lot like Earth, only there's a
- 4:48Speaker 1: whole bunch of satellites around this one. You sit down
- 4:53Speaker 1: in the main control chair. Why are all these satellites here?
- 4:58Speaker 1: You ask this. This planet seems to be very technologically advanced,
- 5:05Speaker 1: don't worry. I have mapped the satellites and will avoid
- 5:09Speaker 1: them easily. Spaceship makes a couple turns and drops below
- 5:16Speaker 1: the field of satellites, through the atmosphere, through the clouds,
- 5:23Speaker 1: until you find yourself floating above the planet, where you
- 5:29Speaker 1: see a herd of deer with glowing crystal antlers racing
- 5:35Speaker 1: across the sky. What are those, you say, I believe
- 5:43Speaker 1: those may be some created animals or genetically enhanced animals.
- 5:51Speaker 1: My space probes were not particularly specific on the details.
- 5:57Speaker 1: You continue to fly over the planet. You see birds
- 6:02Speaker 1: with dolphin tails leaping in and out of the water.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You pass a group of people riding giant rabbit horses
- 6:13Speaker 1: across the plains, and besides you, you see someone riding
- 6:19Speaker 1: what looks like a cloud eagle, an eagle that's also
- 6:26Speaker 1: shaped like a cloud. My probes indicate that the epicenter
- 6:31Speaker 1: of activity is just ahead, and sure enough, you soon
- 6:37Speaker 1: see a lot of activity, the whole bunch of high
- 6:43Speaker 1: tech machines and a large circle surrounded by all kinds
- 6:49Speaker 1: of different animals well participating in different activities. There's one
- 6:56Speaker 1: area that looks like a battle arena, where strange and
- 7:01Speaker 1: unusual animals.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Are fighting each other.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Some kind of alligator bear is fighting off against a well,
- 7:11Speaker 1: a fox with nature powers or something like that. On
- 7:16Speaker 1: the other side is what looks like a high tech
- 7:20Speaker 1: race track where a whole bunch of super fast animals
- 7:25Speaker 1: are racing. And there's another arena where there seem to
- 7:31Speaker 1: be people putting on some sort of animal show, like
- 7:35Speaker 1: a beauty pageant for genetically engineered animals. Above you, there's
- 7:42Speaker 1: all sorts of animals flying through the sky. All kinds
- 7:47Speaker 1: of them have wings or well, flames shooting out of
- 7:51Speaker 1: their bottoms. Flying rabbits, flying turtles, flying horses, flying turtle bears. Honestly,
- 8:03Speaker 1: the creatures look so different and so strange that you
- 8:06Speaker 1: can't really identify them. And well, only some of them
- 8:10Speaker 1: are human looking animals from Earth, I mean, others are
- 8:15Speaker 1: completely alien and too strange to describe. Spaceship lands on
- 8:21Speaker 1: a little landing area just beside the circle of machines.
- 8:27Speaker 1: My probes indicate that the circle of machines is where
- 8:32Speaker 1: we should start investigating. The back hatch opens up, fresh
- 8:39Speaker 1: air spills in, and you walk out onto the planet
- 8:44Speaker 1: and over towards the circle of machines. As you approach
- 8:50Speaker 1: a strange, tall and sleek robot approaches you. Welcome visitor,
- 8:58Speaker 1: says the robot. Do you require assistance with animal creation
- 9:04Speaker 1: or combination? Perhaps you need an animal or object supplied
- 9:10Speaker 1: from our replicators. We can provide almost anything you need,
- 9:16Speaker 1: as long as it is legal, safe, and not deemed
- 9:20Speaker 1: too annoying. H we're not really from this planet. You
- 9:27Speaker 1: explain what exactly is going on here? The robot suddenly
- 9:33Speaker 1: looks excited. Ah, first time guests, That is wonderful. This
- 9:41Speaker 1: is the animal creation planet. For many years, our robots
- 9:47Speaker 1: and automated systems have handled most jobs food, building, cleaning, repairs,
- 9:55Speaker 1: sorting socks, folding towels, remembering birthdays, knowing all important information.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Uh okay, well that sounds pretty cool. It was, says
- 10:09Speaker 1: the robot. But then people had a new problem. They
- 10:14Speaker 1: had too much free time and too little to do.
- 10:19Speaker 3: You nod.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I see. So the people here invented hobbies, many hobbies, painting,
- 10:29Speaker 1: racing boats, competitive, stacking of different objects, But most popular
- 10:36Speaker 1: was the hobby of animal creation. The robot points towards
- 10:42Speaker 1: the center, where there's a whole bunch of huge machines.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Each machine has two side chambers and one larger chamber
- 10:51Speaker 1: in the middle. Some have animals on one side and
- 10:55Speaker 1: objects on the other. Some have two animals. Some have
- 11:00Speaker 1: glowing containers marked with an element fire, ice, wind, water, nature, dirt, lightning, shadow,
- 11:10Speaker 1: that sort of thing. The machines can combine animals with
- 11:16Speaker 1: other animals, objects, elements, or special materials. The computer studies
- 11:24Speaker 1: both things and creates the best possible living combination. Some
- 11:29Speaker 1: people make pets, some make racers, some make show animals.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Some create animals for battle, others create animals for transportation.
- 11:43Speaker 3: You glance at a.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Nearby arena where a lizard made partly of lava is
- 11:50Speaker 1: being given a drink from some sort of bottle of fire.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Does it hurt them?
- 11:58Speaker 3: You ask?
- 12:00Speaker 1: The robot shakes its head. No, The process is completely painless.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Most animals enjoy their new forms, their minds stay comfortable,
- 12:12Speaker 1: and the computer only allows combinations that will be healthy.
- 12:17Speaker 1: If a creature dislikes its new form, we return it
- 12:22Speaker 1: to normal. Would you like to try, asks the robot.
- 12:28Speaker 1: There are races, beauty shows, flying contests, swimming contests, and
- 12:35Speaker 1: battled tournaments throughout the day that you could participate in.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You look across the plaza where some sort of very
- 12:44Speaker 1: fast looking animal that seems to be made of lightning
- 12:47Speaker 1: blasts across a track so fast that you can't even
- 12:51Speaker 1: see it. Well, the land race looks cool, you say,
- 12:57Speaker 1: any chance you have a cheetah interesting not currently in storage. However,
- 13:05Speaker 1: if you can provide a DNA sample, we can safely
- 13:09Speaker 1: replicate one. Spaceship's voice comes clearly through your watch. I
- 13:17Speaker 1: have extensive biological archives, he says, cheetah. DNA sample transferring.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Now excellent, says the other robot. A nearby replicator hums
- 13:32Speaker 1: to life. Light gathers inside it, spinning faster and faster,
- 13:38Speaker 1: and a moment later, a fully grown cheetah steps out.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It's absolutely beautiful, sleek, golden, covered in spots, extremely cheatah
- 13:51Speaker 1: like the robot scans it very good. I believe this
- 13:57Speaker 1: animal is comfortable, healthy, calm, and ready for optional combination.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Now what would you like to combine with it? You
- 14:08Speaker 1: think about all of the fun things you could put
- 14:11Speaker 1: on a cheetah to make it faster, rockets, roller skates, lightning,
- 14:18Speaker 1: maybe a genant spring, so who could like bounce around
- 14:20Speaker 1: and stuff like that, And then it hits you. Do
- 14:26Speaker 1: you have a Formula one race car? You ask hmm,
- 14:32Speaker 1: not at the moment, Please provide the schematics for Formula
- 14:38Speaker 1: one race car transferring schematics. Now, spaceship says ah, I
- 14:45Speaker 1: see printing. Now the replicator hums to life again, and
- 14:52Speaker 1: this time the energy combines into a yeah, well, a
- 14:56Speaker 1: full sized Formula one race car. Let us prepare for combination.
- 15:04Speaker 1: A single robot walks over and puts a leash around
- 15:08Speaker 1: the cheetah, leading it over into the chamber. On the left,
- 15:13Speaker 1: a team of small flying robots pick up the Formula
- 15:17Speaker 1: one car and fly it into the chamber. On the right,
- 15:22Speaker 1: the machine powers up. Would you like to press the
- 15:27Speaker 1: combined button? The robot asks, of course, I would you say?
- 15:35Speaker 1: You step forward, press the big button, and everything starts
- 15:40Speaker 1: to glow. The cheetah glows in one chamber, the race
- 15:45Speaker 1: card glows in the other chamber. Then both shapes start
- 15:49Speaker 1: to dissolve into pure energy, swirling around in front of you.
- 15:55Speaker 1: The energy streams into the center chamber, twists together, and
- 16:01Speaker 1: well begins to combine. When the light fades, the creature
- 16:08Speaker 1: in the middle of the chamber looks like a cheetah
- 16:11Speaker 1: from the future. Its body is still, you know, spotted
- 16:15Speaker 1: and cheetah like, but it has thin racing stripes along
- 16:20Speaker 1: its side. Its legs look powerful and partially metallic, with
- 16:26Speaker 1: smooth metal joints that gleam in the sun. Its eyes
- 16:30Speaker 1: shine like headlights. The door opens up and the Cheetah
- 16:37Speaker 1: race car steps out. For a second, it walks like
- 16:41Speaker 1: a normal cheetah. Then its legs fold and shift wheels
- 16:46Speaker 1: slide out from its paws, Its body lowers slightly, and
- 16:51Speaker 1: its tail sort of transforms into a tiny little spoiler
- 16:55Speaker 1: on its back.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Whoa, you say.
- 17:01Speaker 1: The cheetah car purrs, which you honestly can't tell if
- 17:06Speaker 1: it's an engine or the cheetah purring, but it sounds
- 17:10Speaker 1: pretty cool successful combination. Would you like to register in
- 17:16Speaker 1: a land race? I guess so. I mean, I don't
- 17:22Speaker 1: see why not. You climb on top of the Cheetah
- 17:27Speaker 1: and put your hands on a set of handlebars that
- 17:32Speaker 1: are there for some reason. You drive the Cheetah over
- 17:36Speaker 1: to the racetrack area, and some other robots wave you in.
- 17:43Speaker 1: You find yourself lined up beside a whole bunch of
- 17:46Speaker 1: other racers. One is sitting on a horse that looks
- 17:51Speaker 1: like it's mixed with a motorcycle. Another looks like a
- 17:55Speaker 1: kangaroo mixed with a pogo stick, which you can't help
- 17:59Speaker 1: it is probably only a small improvement from an actual kangaroo.
- 18:04Speaker 1: There's a kid on a rhino with roller blades and
- 18:07Speaker 1: a rockets strapped to its back, and a squirrel that
- 18:12Speaker 1: looks like it's mixed with a monster truck or something
- 18:15Speaker 1: like that. A floating drone announcer buzzes overhead, rain stars Ready, three, two,
- 18:25Speaker 1: one go, The race explodes forward. You give the cheeta
- 18:32Speaker 1: a little kick. There are no petals anywhere, and it
- 18:37Speaker 1: blasts forward. It starts running on its legs, sprinting with
- 18:43Speaker 1: incredible power. You feel each stride like a drum beat
- 18:48Speaker 1: wind rushing against your face. You're amazed at how quickly
- 18:52Speaker 1: its legs can move on their own. Then it transforms.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Its legs transform into wheels. It ducts down towards the ground.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Its tail becomes a spoiler, and it blasts even faster
- 19:10Speaker 1: down the little track. The track curves sharply. The motorcycle
- 19:16Speaker 1: horse slows to turn, but your cheat, a race car,
- 19:20Speaker 1: just digs its wheels in and makes the curve perfectly
- 19:24Speaker 1: without even slowing down.
- 19:27Speaker 3: The pogo kangaroo.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Well, it doesn't even have a chance of keeping up.
- 19:32Speaker 1: It's still it's way behind you. You're honestly not sure
- 19:36Speaker 1: why somebody thought that that would be a particularly fast vehicle,
- 19:39Speaker 1: but it clearly is not. In fact, you easily pull
- 19:44Speaker 1: ahead of all of the other vehicles. The only thing
- 19:48Speaker 1: that seems to be able to keep up with you
- 19:50Speaker 1: is the Rocket Rhino on roller skates. You and the
- 19:55Speaker 1: Rocket Rhino face each other head to head as you
- 19:58Speaker 1: turn to the left, turn to the right, and head
- 20:02Speaker 1: into the straightaway. The blaster on the back of the
- 20:07Speaker 1: Rhino lights up and he blasts forward in front of you.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Come on, Cheetah, we can't let that happen. The Cheetah
- 20:16Speaker 1: nods and understanding focuses, and its tires spin even faster.
- 20:23Speaker 1: You slowly gain ground on the Rocket Rhino as you
- 20:28Speaker 1: approach the finish line, and you pull slightly ahead, just
- 20:34Speaker 1: in time to be announced the winner a crowd of robots,
- 20:41Speaker 1: strange looking racing animals, and well humans who have created them.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I'll clap for you. At the finish line, the Cheetah's
- 20:50Speaker 1: legs reform from the wheels and you trot back over
- 20:55Speaker 1: to the combination machine. That was pretty cool. What's next?
- 21:02Speaker 1: You ask, perhaps you would like to combine something else.
- 21:08Speaker 1: The robot says, yeah, well, honestly, I'm feeling kind of hungry,
- 21:14Speaker 1: so maybe we should have lunch first. Well, we may
- 21:19Speaker 1: be able to help with that as well. We have
- 21:23Speaker 1: many animal combinations that can create food. You have animals
- 21:30Speaker 1: that can create food, you ask, Of course, combining animals
- 21:36Speaker 1: with food related products is a favorite pastime of people
- 21:40Speaker 1: on this planet. Okay, well, then I guess the question
- 21:47Speaker 1: is what kind of food do I want? And what
- 21:52Speaker 1: kind of animal do I want to give it to me?
- 21:56Speaker 1: You think for a second and you realize that the
- 21:59Speaker 1: answer is absolutely clear. You want ice cream. Then you
- 22:06Speaker 1: start to think of what would go well with ice cream?
- 22:09Speaker 1: What kind of animal would you want to give you
- 22:12Speaker 1: ice cream? What kind of animal would you know naturally
- 22:16Speaker 1: enjoy ice cream? And the answer is obvious, a polar bear.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I'd like to combine an ice cream machine with a
- 22:27Speaker 1: polar bear spaceship. Transfer the DNA samples, and you know,
- 22:33Speaker 1: some schematics for a soft served ice cream machine with
- 22:38Speaker 1: all sorts of different flavors understood. Transferring DNA and schematics.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Now schematics received replicating polar bear. The replicator lights up
- 22:55Speaker 1: and a polar bear swirls to life again. A little
- 23:01Speaker 1: helper robot walks over, places a collar with a leash
- 23:05Speaker 1: around its neck, and well kind of gestures for the
- 23:10Speaker 1: polar bear to follow, which, strangely it does. Polar bears
- 23:15Speaker 1: aren't particularly tame animals. In fact, they're wildly dangerous animals,
- 23:20Speaker 1: so you're surprised with how easily it follows orders. Next,
- 23:27Speaker 1: the ice cream machine comes to life in the replicator.
- 23:31Speaker 1: A team of little robots picks it up and puts
- 23:35Speaker 1: it in the chamber on the other side. You step
- 23:39Speaker 1: up to the giant combined button, press it, and once again,
- 23:45Speaker 1: both sides of the chamber light up with energy. They
- 23:50Speaker 1: swirl together into the larger chamber and well. A moment later,
- 23:57Speaker 1: a new creature is standing there. It still looks mostly
- 24:02Speaker 1: like a polar bear, soft, huge, and strangely friendly looking
- 24:07Speaker 1: for such a deadly creature, but now it has bell
- 24:12Speaker 1: a soft serve ice cream dispenser built into its belly
- 24:17Speaker 1: like a serving station. On one side of its stomach
- 24:21Speaker 1: is a cone holder, and in the other are a
- 24:24Speaker 1: whole bunch of different flavor buttons with a little nozzle
- 24:28Speaker 1: in the middle. The bear looks down at itself, then
- 24:33Speaker 1: it looks at you. It picks up a cone, places
- 24:37Speaker 1: it in the center of its belly, and presses go
- 24:43Speaker 1: soft serve ice cream starts to spill out. It turns
- 24:48Speaker 1: the cone around in a little circle, creating the perfect
- 24:52Speaker 1: layer of soft serve ice cream, and then it sits
- 24:57Speaker 1: down on the ground and begins to eat.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Can I have one? You ask?
- 25:05Speaker 1: The polar bear, looking rather unimpressed, eats the rest of
- 25:09Speaker 1: its ice cream cone in one gulp. It walks out
- 25:13Speaker 1: of the chamber over it towards you and sits down
- 25:17Speaker 1: on its bum. It grabs a little cone, presses the
- 25:21Speaker 1: button on the dispenser, and creates a multi flavor cone
- 25:26Speaker 1: for you in a perfect little swirl. It hands it
- 25:30Speaker 1: to you. You take a hold, and you take a bite.
- 25:36Speaker 1: It's cold, sweet, ice creamy and delicious. This is actually
- 25:44Speaker 1: really good. Honestly, I thought this idea would turn out horribly,
- 25:48Speaker 1: but wow, can we keep.
- 25:51Speaker 3: This ice cream bear? You ask? I will think about it,
- 25:56Speaker 3: Spaceship says.
- 25:58Speaker 2: You.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Take a moment two finish the ice cream, all the
- 26:02Speaker 1: while thinking about what you want to make next. I
- 26:07Speaker 1: think I want to make something I can ride in
- 26:09Speaker 1: the air. You say, good idea. A flying mount is
- 26:15Speaker 1: a popular thing to combine. What would you like to
- 26:19Speaker 1: make for the animal combination? You think about it, You
- 26:25Speaker 1: think about mythical creatures, and you eventually land on the answer.
- 26:32Speaker 1: A lion and a hawk transferring DNA samples.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Now.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Immediately, the replicator lights up with two glowing objects. A
- 26:47Speaker 1: lion appears on one side and a hawk on the other. Again,
- 26:54Speaker 1: the helper robots move over, put little leashes around the
- 26:58Speaker 1: creatures and guide them into different parts of the chamber.
- 27:05Speaker 1: You press the combined button and the two light up
- 27:10Speaker 1: and transform into energy once again. The energy shoots together
- 27:15Speaker 1: in the central chamber and forms itself into exactly what
- 27:22Speaker 1: you imagined, essentially a giant griffin with huge hawk wings.
- 27:30Speaker 1: The griffin steps out of the chamber and lowers its head.
- 27:35Speaker 1: You slowly move closer and pet it on the side. Uh,
- 27:41Speaker 1: any chance I can go for a ride? You ask?
- 27:45Speaker 1: The griffin agrees. It bends down, allowing you to climb
- 27:50Speaker 1: on its back. Then it begins to run. You hold
- 27:55Speaker 1: on to its furry feathers around its neck and seem
- 28:00Speaker 1: to mind. It jumps into the air, spreads its wings,
- 28:05Speaker 1: and begins to flap them As it flies higher and
- 28:08Speaker 1: higher and higher. You soon find yourself high above the planet,
- 28:16Speaker 1: the wind against your face, the sun against your skin.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It's incredible and relaxing to fly around on something like this.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Below you, you see a crowd gathered inside a massive
- 28:32Speaker 1: arena where a bear covered in vines and leaves looks
- 28:38Speaker 1: like it's fighting some sort of ice fox. The bear
- 28:43Speaker 1: is using vines to shoot out and wrap around the creature,
- 28:47Speaker 1: while the ice fox is sending frozen spikes of ice
- 28:51Speaker 1: across the ground and through the air that looks intense.
- 28:58Speaker 1: You land beside the helper robot. Any chance I can
- 29:03Speaker 1: combine something and fight.
- 29:05Speaker 3: In the arena, you ask? Of course?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Can I combine the griffin again? You ask?
- 29:14Speaker 3: Certainly?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Layered combinations are allowed if the creature remains healthy and comfortable.
- 29:21Speaker 1: The griffin lifts its head watching you. How about fire,
- 29:28Speaker 1: you ask. The griffin nods in agreement. Very good, we
- 29:35Speaker 1: will combine the griffin with the element of fire. Please
- 29:39Speaker 1: lead the griffin into the chamber on the left. You
- 29:44Speaker 1: lead the griffin into the chamber on the left as
- 29:47Speaker 1: another robot places a little container full of well fire
- 29:53Speaker 1: on the other side al Anyboddy, you ask, the griffin nods.
- 30:00Speaker 1: You press the combined button, and immediately the griffin lights
- 30:06Speaker 1: up and transforms into energy, as does the fire Again,
- 30:12Speaker 1: the two of them combine into a stream of energy
- 30:16Speaker 1: and form themselves into something new in the other chamber.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Before long, the fire Griffin solidifies. Its feathers now glow
- 30:29Speaker 1: on the tips like embers. It's lion main flickers with
- 30:35Speaker 1: well some kind of flame as well. Lines of fire
- 30:39Speaker 1: run along its wings, and its talons shine as if
- 30:44Speaker 1: they're peated or something. It doesn't look as fun to
- 30:47Speaker 1: ride anymore. It looks like it'll feel kind of well
- 30:51Speaker 1: burnie if you do, but it does look like it
- 30:55Speaker 1: could take bart in the battle arena. Ready for battle,
- 31:01Speaker 1: you ask, yes, I have put you on the docket
- 31:04Speaker 1: to perform. Next, you walk over to the battle arena
- 31:10Speaker 1: with the griffin helper. Robots allow you inside and bring
- 31:15Speaker 1: you over to the side of the arena itself. Aren't
- 31:20Speaker 1: you ready? The person asks. The door opens and the
- 31:25Speaker 1: Griffin steps inside. A door on the other side opens,
- 31:31Speaker 1: and the same nature bear that was taking on the
- 31:35Speaker 1: fox steps out. Battle begins in three two one. The
- 31:43Speaker 1: nature bear attacks first. It slams both paws into the ground.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Roots burst outward and try to wrap around the griffin.
- 31:54Speaker 1: The fire Griffin leaps into the air. Flames blast from
- 31:58Speaker 1: its wings, giving out extra lift and allowing it to
- 32:02Speaker 1: sort of float instead of needing to flap its arms.
- 32:06Speaker 1: The roots snap together beneath it, narrowly missing fire burst.
- 32:12Speaker 1: You call not really sure what to call the Griffin's
- 32:16Speaker 1: attacks or exactly what it can do, but the griffin
- 32:19Speaker 1: seems to understand. It dives and sends a stream of
- 32:24Speaker 1: flame across the ground in front of the bear. The
- 32:27Speaker 1: fire doesn't seem to hurt the arena floor, but it
- 32:31Speaker 1: burns through the vines the bears controlling the bear growls
- 32:36Speaker 1: and stops again. This time, full trees shoot up from
- 32:41Speaker 1: the ground, forming themselves into a cage around the griffin.
- 32:47Speaker 1: The griffin lights up with white hot flame, and the
- 32:52Speaker 1: branches begin to sizzle, burn, and then pull away again.
- 32:58Speaker 1: The griffin lands and the round in front.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Of the bear.
- 33:02Speaker 1: It takes in a deep breath and breathes out a
- 33:05Speaker 1: plume of fire. The fire hits the bear sends it
- 33:09Speaker 1: flying backwards into the wall, where it raises its hand,
- 33:16Speaker 1: indicating that it gives up.
- 33:19Speaker 3: It doesn't seem.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Too hurt, but it clearly wasn't sure what to do
- 33:24Speaker 1: with its nature powers versus this fire element. Obviously, fire
- 33:29Speaker 1: would be stronger in a battle like this. The griffin
- 33:33Speaker 1: walks over to the side, where you carefully pat it
- 33:37Speaker 1: on the side of the head, not wanting to burn
- 33:40Speaker 1: yourself or anything. To your surprise, it doesn't even really
- 33:45Speaker 1: seem warm. Your hands are unbothered by the fire. Interesting,
- 33:52Speaker 1: you say. You lead the griffin back out of the
- 33:55Speaker 1: arena and over to the central machines. Did you enjoy
- 34:01Speaker 1: your battle? Yeah? I mean I could see doing that again.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Coming up with different combinations of animals to fight against
- 34:12Speaker 1: each other seems like a great idea for another adventure.
- 34:16Speaker 1: But right now I'm feeling kind of tired. Honestly, I
- 34:21Speaker 1: don't think I have room for a fire griffin. Is
- 34:24Speaker 1: there somewhere it can hang out on this planet? Yes,
- 34:29Speaker 1: we have a sanctuary for such animals. Please leave it
- 34:34Speaker 1: with me. It will be quite happy, I promise. You
- 34:39Speaker 1: hand the reins over to the robot and you once
- 34:43Speaker 1: again pet the griffin on the side. All right, buddy, Well,
- 34:48Speaker 1: maybe we'll come back and visit or try another animal
- 34:52Speaker 1: creation combination, race or battle or something like that in
- 34:56Speaker 1: the future. You turn around and walk back to the spaceship.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You climb aboard, the door closes, and you laid down
- 35:07Speaker 1: on the couch. You place your head on the pillow
- 35:12Speaker 1: at one end. The lights dim all around you, and
- 35:18Speaker 1: you start to simply focus on your breath, noticing as
- 35:23Speaker 1: your stomach rises and falls, and with each breath you
- 35:30Speaker 1: release a little more tension from your body, letting your
- 35:35Speaker 1: arms relax and sink down into the couch, letting your
- 35:41Speaker 1: shoulders drop down, your legs melt, and your eyes close.
- 35:52Speaker 1: With each breath, you sink down deeper and deeper, and
- 35:58Speaker 1: the deeper you sink, theter you feel, and the better
- 36:02Speaker 1: you feel. The deeper you sink, until you feel as
- 36:08Speaker 1: if you're floating on a cloud, and your mind begins
- 36:12Speaker 1: to wander off to thoughts of new dreams and new
- 36:18Speaker 1: adventures to come. Good night, everyone in.
- 39:25Speaker 4: New York. No more.
- 41:48Speaker 1: N no Thing, no.
- 44:27Speaker 4: More nan Union, no music game,
