- speaker-0: Woo! Welcome back to Fourth and Bonilla Podcast. speaker-1: Welcome back. That's man. Week two. What a week. Huh? Yeah, man. Rod. speaker-0: Injury bug speaker-1: Real tough for a lot of teams. hey, it's the nature of the league. Happens every year. We really they gotta figure it out. That's why you plan for this, man. Hope it doesn't hit the Jets. A lot of speaker-0: Overreactions. man, so much to discuss, but we're doing things a little bit different. this week. We're gonna have our weekly winner guest jump on first, speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: and then we'll talk about week two, summarize that bad boy, give you the this close segment. Fade bros, you wanna stay for that? Get your pick. Do the opposite of what we say there. speaker-1: forward to by the way. Sir Plural. We got a little specialty coming on here. First time I That's speaker-0: First time ever on Fourth of Benin. speaker-1: it. speaker-0: Love it, man. Well, without further ado, Dom and Rob. Sounds like a T V That sounds like an T V show, right? speaker-1: Yeah. Exactly. speaker-2: All right, perfect. speaker-0: Look at your setup. speaker-2: This is the home office. I I'm stuck in this room like twelve hours a day, so might as well stay here, right? speaker-0: Got you for another half an hour here, right? Hopefully that's good enough for you. speaker-2: Love it. Love it. speaker-0: Well, Dom, was it you with with the one syllable bandit here? Dom speaker-1: That's us. Here we are. speaker-0: Dom, Rob, Pete & Mike. speaker-1: Keep it simple. We keep it simple. speaker-0: It's simple for the for the folks at home. Very much so. Dude, so before we get into everything, gotta understand like how you got to your allegiance to the Jets for you, Dom, and then Rob for you for the Packers. speaker-1: so without knowing, my dad is actually a Dolphins fan. And when I was young, I just liked the color green. So I latched onto the Jets. I could have picked the Packers, maybe the Seahawks, depending on the colorway, but no. I went with the New York Jets. And I've been riding the wave ever since, you know, from the Vinny Testaverdi, Curtis Martin days, you know, Lavernius Coles. That's my kind of early era of football. speaker-0: That's good and bad, man. I feel bad, but I'm also with you. I'm on the train, man. speaker-1: My my screen name when I was a kid was Jets eighty seven because Jets twenty-eight was already taken, so I moved on to the Vernus Coles. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-0: Are we talking AOL instant messenger screen name? speaker-1: Yes, we're talking like AOL instant messenger like back in the day, yeah. speaker-0: aim of that. Love it. I love that. Yeah, I was I was late to the party. So I mean we were big basketball guys for a long time and then we went to Don Bosco prep in Jersey and obviously big football school, like a lot of my friends were into it and he was like, dude, come to a jet game. Like we're gonna we're gonna really do it up and his family's diehard. And I was like, All right, that's it. I'm in the allegiance. It's happening. He obviously didn't tell me that this was gonna be a horrible, horrible train ride, but it's okay. I bleed green, so I think we're there now. Shout out to what about you man? speaker-2: It it's it's really funny because green's my favorite color as well, but I went a different route. And when I was three, three and a half, everybody in the neighborhood was a different quarterback for Halloween. We had a kid who was Steve Young on the Niners. We had I don't know, Tommy Maddox on the on the Steelers, and I just my parents picked Brett Favre. And from then on, I had a Packers jersey, three years old. I just stuck with him. The the rest of his history. I could easily become a Jets fan and I'm a little bit glad I didn't. So speaker-1: Live a life of misery, Rob, right? speaker-2: That's right, that's right. I do get to hear it every day. So speaker-0: What what's your feelings with Aaron Rodgers? speaker-2: You know, I I got the guy back there. So that's a I I'm a I'm a Packers fan, right? I I love Rogers, everything he did for us, but that was a gift from a boss and I I feel like I don't ha I I can't take it down. You know what I mean? It's a little disrespectful. So it's gonna stay up there until obligated he wins a ch Yeah, exactly. If he wins a championship somewhere else, then the rest is history, I'll take it down. We'll replace it with Jordan. But for right now He's staying up there. I still love him, but Packers fan, not Rogers fan, you know. speaker-0: He has one year to do it. He's got his fairwell season right now, which is pr pretty cool. I don't even know. It's not a little sad at the same time. How about that shot they took though this past Sunday? speaker-2: he looks he looks like he's what, forty two or forty three. I mean that's right. speaker-0: That's what he like. So I mean even his young self would have would have felt that one. I mean I felt that one sitting on the couch. I was like his neck just speaker-2: Yeah. With lash. With lash. speaker-0: That was bad. Well look, we have another Packers fan, a really big one. I called him out in the last newsletter, Mike Tisha. You guys gotta get together and hang out or do something because I mean he is full on. So you'll you'll see more of that in the email this week. But he he's definitely one for you to to catch up with. speaker-2: Give me a shout, Mike. I'm I'm here at the Jersey Shore. I'm in New Jersey as well, so we'll we'll get together and watch a game. speaker-0: I was gonna ask you guys where are you guys located or based? speaker-2: Yeah, I'm I'm right around the just outside of Redbank, New Jersey, Middletown area. speaker-0: Yep. Very familiar. You know that for sure. I mean that. speaker-1: I'm in Hoboken. No, I I I I lived in Stanford, Connecticut for one year, but I'm from New Jersey. I live in Hoboken. But but my Connecticut connection is Matt Shredda, who I know you guys know, the the Shredder family. So Yeah Yep, he's my I'll give him a quick shout out. He's my connection to the to the league, my our introduction. So thank you, Matt. speaker-0: So give us that story too. Like how'd you get like how'd he tell you about the league? speaker-1: Yeah, so Matt and I went to St. John's together. So I've known Matt for gosh, you know, I guess what feels over a decade now. Definitely over a decade. So I've known Matt for a long time. And you know, just chopping it up about, you know, pick'em leagues. We both like football, both into fantasy, things like that. And yeah, he mentioned your league. And at the time, you know, Rob, Rob is also somebody who will not pass up a pi a good pick'em league or a good box pool, something like that. So, you know, given that this is a week or a year long, season long pool, you know, just in case I don't make the picks, I know I have Rob to pick me up and I trust Rob fully. So we kind of split the dude speaker-0: Smart. speaker-1: Yep. So, you know, he he he's been with me since the beginning. speaker-2: How long has it how long has it been, Dom? was it twenty one, twenty two? It's been four or five years, right? speaker-1: first year, yeah. speaker-0: Dude, that's so crazy, guys. You have to understand, like when we first started this, this was just like our cousins, our uncles, and like for 20 bucks each. The familiar, literally. Exactly. speaker-2: No mealia. speaker-0: And and like we had so much fun with it. And then we were like, we we have enough like connects in our network. We're like, let's get this like bigger. And we got it bigger and bigger. And then we were like, we can't get it too big because we were doing moneyline, like we're just doing straight up. And there was obviously like way too many ties at that point. We're like, all right, like how do we like shift this? And then like obviously spread came in and now we started like increasing more. And I'm like, there are people in this league, like, no offense to you guys, like there are people in this league where like, Pete, what's the connection again? Like, how do we know though? Like, what what's the deal? And it's like it's it's the best part about it though, right? Like we get to meet like new faces and they're excited about the league. And honestly, it's why we do it. So we we have so much fun. And honestly, thank you guys for for being with us for a couple of years now. Really appreciate it. speaker-1: Yeah, of course. speaker-2: No, it's been it's been awesome. I said to Don this morning, I'm like, wow. speaker-1: That was speaker-2: That was the payout. He's like, there's a hundred and sixty some odd people in this league now. I'm like, I don't think there was a hundred and sixty people, what, five years ago? So it's grown. Kudos to you guys for running an awesome league. speaker-1: Yeah, for sure. speaker-0: Appreciate that, Rob. Thanks, guys. You guys have a really unique s scenario because you guys are one of the few people that actually share like an account with each other. So how does that work? Like your picking strategy and how was it for week week two? speaker-2: So I I I'll jump in here and say over the last five years it's you know, things change and it's been a lot of hit or miss. dude, I forgot to pick this week. But the last two weeks we've had a little bit of a system. I wake up on Wednesday morning. I like I said, work from home and so I spend the first like thirty minutes just looking at the lines, just gut shotting the picks. Just pick whatever I feel is good and then I mean from there we wake up on Thursday, right, Dom, and we analyze the Thursday game and then take it the Sunday. speaker-0: So you like little powwows. You basically are calling each other up or or texting each other, just be like, all right, that's what I'm feeling. speaker-2: I mean constantly. We're we're always just texting back and forth. Dom and I have known each other since we're like eight years old. So it's yeah, it's like back and forth text messages from Wednesday to Sunday at twelve fifty-eight PM, right? speaker-0: Now is it always you, Rob, that starts it off or like you guys switch? speaker-2: Not not always, and that's what I'm saying. Like just this season, I got into the habit Wednesday mornings, yo Dom, I'm gonna log in, look at the games, make the picks, and then we'll take it from there. So that's what we've done this season, but the past four seasons, it's always, I don't know, just random. Whoever logs in first makes the picks, goes from there. But yeah, this year, two weeks in a row, we've kind of had the same methodology, and I told Dom before I'm not superstitious. I'm stitched enough to like keep this going. I'll wake up Wednesday morning. Every Wednesday morning I'll make the picks and we'll just keep flowing. speaker-0: Is is there any like veto power in this? Like what happens when you guys come to a disagreement and you're like, just I don't agree. Like I I think that we should go with the dog. speaker-1: Yeah, so I I'll j Rob, I'll take this one. So Rob and I we typically have the a similar philosophy in terms of picking gains. So we also know what what it's like to take gains against a spread. You know, it's a the end of the day, it feels pretty close to 50-50 no matter what, right? No matter what the line looks like. So neither of us get pretty passionate about it and we get pretty Like if Rob tells me he's he really likes a line, I'll roll over and I'm not gonna argue with him because you you know, if if even if I liked it a little bit, if Rob loves it, I'm I'm with it, you know, because just I know how hard it is to pick games and you know, I could if if I'm in the same position, Rob's not gonna, you know, veto my pick as you called it, Pete. so luckily we have a similar feel towards games, right? We We like the uncomfortable games and the uncomfortable lines and the lines people hate to take. You know, Rob, what what teams are blackballed against? I we hate taking I hate taking the Colts. The Colts have burned me and the Chargers. Those who have burned my god. speaker-2: Chargers since since the Phil Since the Rivers days, guys. my god, the Chargers and and speaker-0: Hate it. This speaker-2: this season is like the biggest example of that. They're and two, maybe gonna go and three. They do not look good. So yeah, the Chargers are my kryptonite personally. speaker-0: That this is too funny, man. I'm looking here. You guys lost only four games this past week. Wow, that's impressive. What was your like sweat of the week? Like 'cause you were tied with a couple of folks there too. So sweat of the week and bad beat of the week. speaker-2: I Dom, I'll I'll let you dive in on this one, but I think the sweat of the week has to be Monday night because I had zero idea that we were even in contention. I I had no idea, guys. I you know I I make the picks 1 p.m. on fry on Sunday, we're we're done, right? I'm not gonna worry about it, I'm not gonna harp on it. And yeah, Don, take it from here. I mean, you texted me and we're like, yo, I think we're in this. speaker-1: So I couldn't believe I forget how many people were above us, but everybody took the Giants. And I don't know. I guess I was surprised by that. Just I don't know, because everybody says the Rams are how good the Rams are and they got blown out week one. Feel like that's prototype for an overinflated line the next week. speaker-0: Bounce back opportunity. Yep. Right. speaker-1: Right. And honestly, I know Dart went down early, but up until I guess the first like six throws, I thought Jameis was serviceable, right? I mean, you know, Jameis slinging it. I thought he was gonna be it was gonna be just fine. And then I don't know, the first five throws, even the commentators are like, he can't throw the football. speaker-0: He was scaring the speaker-1: Scenario made us sweat, but I would say, you know, throwing a pick in the red zone, you know, that didn't feel so good, right? the Rams threw a pick in the red zone and the Giants didn't capitalize. So, you know, it was it was a little bit of high highs and lows during that game, and just because of the magnitude of the game, and we knew that if we covered and hit the under, that we were gonna win this week. speaker-0: Well, that's so funny you said because like I'm looking at it and I'm like, when I I remember watching it that night and I'm like, hmm, like, all right, who do we have? And then I was like, the numbers are actually pretty spread, except Nez. Nez who had 46, you guys had 45. And I'm like, here it is, right? And like the strategy when we do this, or you know, I've heard this from multiple folks, is like it's either you go kind of lower than you what you think, or like kind of higher, right? It's like you if you get stuck in the middle, then you really just gotta get lucky. Like it's just gonna have to happen like that. So That's interesting, like that you guys so how did you get to forty five? Like what what was the what was the plan there? speaker-1: Rob and I were noodling on going to like 41 because we thought it was going to be a blowout. Minus seven, you know, in January, even Dart Healthy, this line is minus 10 and a half. You know, the Rams are coming. Giants could be struggling. You know, even with a healthy dart, I just think I just thought it was a kind of soft line. We thought blowout the whole time. Granted, I know and Giants fans are definitely going to hear this and we're going to get flamed. But like, you know, even with Dark going going down. I think even with him playing, it's it still would have been a blowout. We that we thought that the whole way and you know, under. speaker-0: I love it. I love it, man. I mean so what so all right. So you guys were sweating into Monday night. Was there any other games during the week where you guys were like, man, this is gonna like really mess us up or like any any other games or any other points where you're like, There's no way we're gonna be in contention this week kind of thing. speaker-1: I so I'm actually looking at the four games that we lost. We were not even close. The closest one I guess is Miami. But th those are the lines that honestly we like to take. They're the ugly ones, right? Like they're the l they're the teams nobody likes to take. And I I think Rob he went off, but I think he would also agree with me here in that It can really reward us or it can really hurt us, right? Like kind of that approach and taking the ugly lines. Like if a lot of favorites win, we're probably not gonna win because we'll favor a dog if it's a tough take, you know? Yeah. so if a lot of if a lot of favorites win that week, we might be in trouble because they're the teams people like to take, right? Everybody likes to take Mahomes and the Chiefs and everybody likes to take the Bills, you know. speaker-0: Because you're on the Chargers. On the Chargers and Falcons this week, huh? Rob's like anyone but the Chargers. Every other dog but them. speaker-2: It's i but you know, it's like so consistent that you have to you get to a week where it's like, All right, this is the week, I'm gonna pick the chargers, they're gonna finally do it, and they just continue to disappoint after they've covered, you know, five spreads in a row in a given situation. It's like, Okay, the one time I decide to go back to the dark side, it always bites me in the butt. So I'm gonna tr try to stop doing that. So it speaker-0: So it's it's safe to say that you guys are kinda going for that weekly, that big hit and like throughout the year, eighteen chances instead of the season winner that we have for first, second, and third place. speaker-2: I think speaker-0: Or or the approach is both. I I don't want to make assumptions, but it seems like you guys are sticking with the dogs or the long shots which can hit one week or two weeks. speaker-2: So I think like going back to the first section of this of this podcast, when Dom said we share like the same kind of philosophy on on betting, we know that, you know, typically the public is wrong, right? I mean, if seventy five percent of the people are on one side, we're gonna take the other side because if anything, we're gonna be up. on top of 75% of the other people, right? So that's kind of been our philosophy. So when it came down to that game at the end of the week, we picked the other way and it ended up working out. I mean, yeah, we we don't we don't really care about the big spreads and and you know home dogs, this, that, and the other. It's like all situational and a lot of if the public is on one side, we're gonna bet the other way. Would you agree that? speaker-1: Definitely. Yeah. And I I think a lot of people would, right? That's the speaker-2: But then when it comes down to even a smaller sample size, like a hundred and sixty one people in this group, right? If it's a big enough sample size, we're not talking about ten people. We're talking about a hundred and sixty one people. If seven are on that side, we pick the other way and it worked out, you know? So speaker-0: All right, Pete, we got it, we got our hint here. We gotta take away those percentages on the pool so that no one gets I just one. Dude, it's great intel, man. I mean, a lot of us go to the DraftKings and you can see where the sides of the bet, whether it be money line or spread, like those are all great indicators there that can make make or make your brook your pick for what we well there's that so there's that one, and then clearly I don't know if you guys noticed this, I'm sure you have, but like once the lines open on the CBS sports app. That's it. That's the line you're getting for the end. So, like major injuries, any of that, like people need to like see that because clearly you'll get the advantage if you like one of the teams on a on a further being a dog or or more of a favorite, right? Like vice versa. So I thought that was pretty interesting the way that we do that. and one thing I was gonna bring up now that you said like going opposite, Pete, remember when we were talking about the squad ride bet and like the different options that we wanted to do with that. And like guys, just so you know, like this little inside scoop, obviously not inside now because this is the podcast and everyone's gonna hear it. But we kept thinking about like different ways on how to do this, like fair, right? And we were thinking about just going against the pup like going against the percentages of every matchup and then just going there. And I was like, Well, like the chances of us going perfect is like, I guess really hard, but it's it's hard anyway, right? It's hard with the flip of the coin, it's hard if we go with the favorite, it's hard like I don't know if we should just switch it up mid season or if we should like wha what are your thoughts guys? Like let us know like Yeah, give us a brainstorming session here on Fourth and Venia. speaker-2: gonna I'm gonna jump in and then Don you can take it away as far as you want to go but like you guys look at March madness pools right I mean there are plenty of people who pick it based off of the mascot and they end up winning the pool. They know nothing everything as far as the lines like they're factored into 5050. I mean anybody can win any given week. Now I will say to your point because we use the lines that come out, you know, on X day before things are adjusted for injuries, you absolutely do have to pay attention. Is a star running back worth a full point or a half point? I mean, that's for you to determine. But it does all come down to it's close to fifty fifty at all times. So you gotta take chances one way or another. Dom, take it. speaker-1: Mike, to answer question, I would mix it up. I would I would fluctuate it all a season long. Flip a coin some weeks, ask ask your niece, nephew, sa daughter, son, you know, what their favorite color is. I I think you mix it up because, you know, you got as to Rob's point, you have a pretty similar shot. And it kind of again, this is our kind of non veto philosophy, right? You know, we know how how really like split it really is and how how easy it is to get it wrong. So that's why we don't get too super passionate about it in that regard. But I think you you you roll dice sometimes, you know, do it with cards one week. I think you mix it up. Yeah. speaker-0: I like that. Hopefully you guys like just the idea of it though. We were like, we have this extra cash. What do we do? Let's just do a lotto ticket with the entire pool. That way, if you're out for it for the week, you're out for the season, you're still in it every week with some big money. Like you probably get what you probably get the equivalent of a weekly winnings if we were to hit big like that. I feel like it would be amazing going into Monday night, the entire pool all on the same side together. speaker-1: We love it. I mean the the fact that the fact that you guys do that is is unbelievable. It's awesome because you know, you could you could, you know, for lack of a better term, you could be lazy with that extra money and just like throw it extra on top, right? And be like, all right, first place you get a little extra cheddar or split it amongst first, second, third. But it's awesome that you guys get creative with it and and you keep everybody in the loop. Like the email updates are awesome. Whoever is the author of it, I'm sure it's the both of you. speaker-0: Mike both both of us, Mike's Mike's taking some more ownership this season. Yeah, it's awesome. We're happy that you've appreciated it. speaker-1: I I'm telling you, I mean, as long as you guys are all all right with it, I know I know at least one other person who wants to join this pool because I've been saying how great it is, you know. And it's, you know, of course, how easy it is to say how good it is for after a weekly win, you know, but a little bit of recency bias, what can what can we say? speaker-0: Well, dude, we appreciate it. And a friend of yours is a friend of ours. We're gonna cap it pool at two hundred. So that's that's the max. That way it stays somewhat reasonable for folks. we're also thinking about ways of innovating it so that like if you're in first place, you're gonna win some money. which is pretty cool. We've been we've been talking about that as well. As in as in like in the week, if you get the same amount of wins that you guys got, all of them will get money is we're is what we're trying to do because At the end the day, like it it is hard, right? I think we've all acknowledged that. And if there's any way that they can get even a little, with the payout being that much, it's like I mean, it it's easy to do it, really. And if we get to honestly, if we get 200, that's probably the only way we do it, because there's only gonna be more ties, which I don't like. Like I don't I don't want folks to feel like they can't have a chance to win anything at the end of each week. And like, for instance, if we would have done it this week, which we're not gonna do it this season, that's just like We've already told everyone a thousand that's what it is. But like seven hundred to you guys, three hundred to the next two other people, like a hundred and fifty, you covered your buy. Like you imagine you cover your buy and you have what sixteen more weeks to go make some money. Like that's pretty cool. That's fun. and more people win. You get like if you get fifty people winning instead of eighteen people plus the season winner, that makes it more fun for everybody too. Exactly. Right. speaker-1: we said we've a decade more of entries. speaker-2: After I so speaker-1: Yeah, we can buy it the next ten years. speaker-0: And we promise not to up the the the buy in any time soon. So Yeah, speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-0: so you guys are good, man. That we figured eight dollars and thirty three cents a week to win thousand is a pretty damn good return. speaker-1: It's the best it's the best lead going, guys. It really is. It's speaker-0: That's what I tell people. Easy sell. Easy sell. Yeah. we'll we'll let you guys go in a second. I just two two questions. my my first question then Michael Michael end with his question. What did you guys do when you won? Like what what what happens when that the clock went to zero zero on Monday night? speaker-2: well, I mean, it's Monday night, right, at eleven forty five PM I mean we're we're both thirty three years old and work, yeah, corporate job. So it was like, dude, sick win. all right, talk to you tomorrow, right? I mean, elaborate, elaborate, but that's what I remember. speaker-1: I didn't move. I I was in this chair during the game. I'm in my I'm in my home office also. And I I didn't move from this chair. And I'm watching on TV here. And my wife is like, all right, are you you coming to bed? I'm like, no, I can't, you know, gotta gotta stay here for till the win. And then after zero zero, you know, did a quick lap around the house, you know, high fives around, texted Rob, can't believe it. What was it, Rob? Second or second win, second win in five seasons or six seasons? speaker-2: Second one in five or six and yeah, it was chicken motherfucking dinner. I love it. speaker-0: What did you tell Dom, what did you tell your wife like going into the night, where you're like I can we can win some some money, some yeah speaker-1: Yeah, put her in the loop. I told her she knew the magnitude of the game. so you know, it was a Rob's a little a little superstitious game night. And you know, if things are going my way, that's when I become very superstitious. So, you know, stay in the you know, can't move. speaker-0: In the channel. speaker-1: Right, right, right, right. And then if things start going caddy wompous, then I'll move. But you know, things were things were moving, moving and grooving in our favor. So but no, she was in the loop. Yeah, we were it was we were hyped. You know, it's it's that's a fun win. speaker-0: That's a that's that's a really good win. I I actually have one more to keep it we're jamming, we're having a good time. I I and you guys do you know, like some action. What is your like best bet of all time or best win of all time? Not necessarily for La Familia, but like outside of that, if you don't mind like sharing the story. speaker-1: you guys are probably my best win. Got speaker-0: Really, okay. speaker-1: Yeah, probably. I mean Yeah. Except a sick run at a blackjack table or a or a craps table, but speaker-0: All right. speaker-2: Yeah, yeah, no, exactly. I was gonna say, I mean, other than like completely unrelated types of gambling, not that we do a lot of it, but you know, other than I speaker-0: It's legal. speaker-2: outside of this, it I mean it would have to be like a Super Bowl pool or some kind of crazy parlay. I mean, guys, a thousand dollars is nothing to scoff about. That's Yeah, for for my unit, that's that's that's a pretty big win. speaker-0: I love it. I love it. Well, hopefully you guys do something fun with the chatter or hopefully it's just re entries and guaranteed having you guys here. would love to get together in person too. That'd be great. speaker-1: Yeah, for sure. For sure. That was awesome, man. Solid dudes, man. Really, really good guys. We gotta we we really gotta figure out the La Familia event this year, like watch event. We could do it big. Last year it was just like the weather wasn't good, you know, timing wasn't good, all that. So give people advanced notice, man. I feel like we can have a really good turnout. I think so too. More and more we It seems that we're getting more and more buy in each year. People everyone else is saying, you know, this is the great pool, great pool. So, I feel like we'll have a great turnout. And maybe maybe we'll get some of our guests, our our professional athlete guests to come jam with us for for a day. That be dope. That would be dope. I don't think that's not the question. Victoria Damn, the song's cutting my head now. that's a throwback, dude. That is a throwback. Did it to me. I I I can't wait to put that on the post. yeah. That's gonna be that's gonna be rocking. We gotta we gotta make sure we have their hats. Let's let's jump into it, man. Let's recap the week two slate. What went down? Why don't you kick us off with Carolina and Atlanta? Yeah, let's get right into it. Thursday night, man. Carolina and Atlanta. Let's let's rewind. yeah. Thursday night. Rewind. She There's Thursday night game, Buffalo Bills versus the Lions, Bills 41. Lions 31. I mean, look what can we say? This was the first time that they're in this new stadium, and I think everyone kind of felt it. Buffalo is really off to a hot start here, man. Josh Allen is a beast. I mean, what else is there to say, really? James Cook did his thing. He was cooking game high 135 yards, golf through for what, 327 passing yards, and St. Brown on the fantasy league. killed it 142 yards so gotta love it but still came short man i think the lions i don't know they're looking a little suspect to me man everyone keeps saying this but you know what they did close that gap they were blowing them out and to be honest with you i kind of turned the I turned the TV off because I was just like this is a waste of my time and then I look back at the final score and they only won by 10. so it's interesting probably garbage time with that said I have a funny story. My neighbor is like the like one of the engineers for that Buffalo Bill Stadium. What? Yes. And like it's so funny because he looks like Roger Goodell. So I'm like, is there some nepotism here? And it's like his brother. Was it the doppelganger? but it was funny because then they showed those vid those pictures that came out where like all like some of the seats were in the bad angles. Yeah. And like someone made a good point. They're like, yeah, like right, three seats out of thousands of seats they're gonna concentrate on. Like it looks like a dope stadium. I mean, they have it at all stadiums, right? Like I've seen it at Yankee Stadium, I've seen it at all of them. no, it does look pretty cool. What the stadium with the fewest the fewest amount of capacity, like they they I think they yeah, they made it a lot smaller, the stadium. so I think in the NFL it holds the least amount. Yeah, that's interesting. Literally like Barkley Center, it's like all up. Like people are on top of each other, apparently. Yeah. Yeah. Which is cool too. Like mad loud like environment. Yeah, yeah, exactly. You know. All right, cool. Let's jump to the Sunday slate here. Carolina Panthers thirty four, Atlanta Falcons three. Yeah, I mean, look, there's really nothing to talk about here. I think the Panthers are are they're a scoring machine. They did this last week. This is the second thirty plus week, and the Falcons really need to figure it out, man. I I didn't think that they were gonna be this bad. Obviously it's Ran by, you know, their quarterback situation with Rosh Penix is in, I think officially for Thursday night. They play Thursday night against the Packers. Rob, I'll hit you with the tax. Let me know what the what the what the deal is here. The pick is look, Carolina, I think that was the one, man. That was the that might have been the easiest bet of the year in in hindsight. A little Monday night quarterbacking. Gosh. they played so well against the Bears and the Bears just had a day that week one and then coming back. The one th one thing I was worried about was the Panthers just didn't play well away last season and then they played awesome at home. But towards the end of the season they started to pick it up and that changed. So that's why I felt confident about this pick. New Orleans Saints twenty four, Baltimore Ravens seventeen. Oof shocker here, huh? I mean not to Marco. Marco had this one dialed in, bro. yeah, look, look, I think the Saints are really showing that they have a lot of heart. I think Tyler Show deserves a little credit at this point. He started yeah, he ended last year well and he's starting this year all on a real hot note. They almost beat the Lions in overtime in week one. You know, who's to say that they don't start two and imagine. I I'm a little worried about the the Ravens, to be honest. Like without Flowers as a as a wide receiver and available there. They don't I feel like the the field doesn't get stretched out for them and then they're just stuck. Like there's only so much Henry can do. They don't have any other real wide receivers that are like legit, other than like Bateman, and maybe I'm missing somebody, Andrews, who isn't Andrews anymore. Like, I don't know. I'm starting not to believe so much in in Lamar, dude. You know what's interesting. I heard I saw this stat. I'm I'm not gonna butcher it, but essentially when they're favored by like I think it's seven or more, he has a bad record at home. And and here we go. It just it was consistent again. It was like when the high expectations are there. He's good when like they're kinda even. Yep. But or like he's a dog. Shout out to Justin Leo, who was at the game, I think. I was just gonna mention that too. Justin Leo and and Greg. Greg with two G's, baby. OG. Dude, they have those great seats there, man. And on TV. I know. I saw it. It'll it'll it'll be in the newsletter, folks. A little little wink wink. All right. Minnesota Vikings nine, Chicago Bears three. I mean, obviously the storyline is Caleb going down. I mean, look, in hindsight, I think we could laugh about it now, but I don't know if you're seeing the memes and the AI. my gosh, they're killing him, dude. I feel like that's wrong. Like You think it's funny. I mean, look, it i if it really is just a pulled hammy, my man pulled out all the stops for for that, dude. That's wild. I mean, look, don't get me wrong, you don't know. Yeah, you work your ass off all year round, like expectations are high. Like total total they got Bears Super Bowl written all over them. Like they could be highest scoring team ever. Like, I know that's one game, I get it. But still, it was one of those things and it just that happened. Man, if he does if that doesn't happen and they score there, I'm not convinced that they don't win by two touchdowns. I I mean, look, I agree, right? And I think forgetting the the backup now, Tyson, Tyson Badgent or something like that. He he's not bad, dude. He's not bad. And shout out to him. He commented on our post when we talked about Ben Johnson. So again, go to that post, get those views up. Yeah, so this is interesting. Look, another Big thing out of this is Brian Flores is the defensive coordinator for the Vikings and he's the real deal. He blitz the most in the league, and his defensive schemes are obviously working out and and people are starting to figure that out. So or or vice versa, they're not sort they're not able to figure it out. And he's really like ruling the league here in whatever matchup that he sees. And mind you, I know it like it's on the defensive end, but they're going with Wentz right now, dude. So know I know he just comes in and I think Brian Flores was the head coach with the Dolphins, I think. And he did he had really he was really good and like they let him go out of nowhere and we were like, What what the heck just happened? He had like some like controversy thing that came up and that's why he got let go, which is another reason, right? It's just yeah, it's dumb because like he's gonna get his he's gonna get another opportunity. He's gonna get his due, yep. For sure. Well look the Viking. Kyler Murray's back, by the way. Kyler Murray is back, yes, yes. That's gonna be an interesting one to call as a coach because now you're rolling. And do you make that change? They probably are gonna make that change, and that's when they typically lose. So keep that note there. The Vikings did beat the Bears the first game of last season, too. with a comeback, actually, which is crazy. Both of those games, the Bears should have won. Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans, Cincinnati twenty, Houston six. This was at least a shocker in terms that it wasn't more competitive. Yeah, look, I think at the end of the day, the Texans really need to figure out their defense. no, vice versa, their offense. they I mean, they have opportunities and like the Bengals are known for their defense, but they actually stepped up. They stepped up a lot this year. this game and this year, the week one, they they did the same thing. So, I don't know. I think the Texans are in a little trouble here. Like, I'm not gonna overreact yet. I think they'll be fine versus like normal opponents, but if Burrow can stay healthy. You better watch out for the Bengals. They're gonna be something, man. And last point here is Chase. I don't know if you saw that. Did you see the catch? The touchdown? I saw one, but the I saw only one. Did he have more than one? Bro. I think he had two. But the first one, unreal. It'll it'll definitely be up for catch of the year, even if it is like I'm calling it now. It's just week two. This is unreal, dude. He like he was tracking one way, he's at the end zone right here, and he's like going left, and then he had to go right at the last second, turned around, like caught it right at the edge and just toe tapped. Dude, it was unreal. Yes. Unreal, man. he's legit. He's clicking on all cylinders, huh? Yeah. Yeah. Look, the Joe Burrow, don't like, don't forget it wasn't that long. Well, it was pretty long ago, but you know, he can he can sneak his way into the Super Bowl. Like, don't don't sleep on them. They get a little momentum, they stay healthy. I mean, they've never started the season like this hot, you know. They usually at start out the season very, very slow with a couple losses. So this is a really good start for them and we'll see where they go. Patriots twenty, Steelers three. I let's coming one of my favorites of the of the week. Yeah, I don't think we need to spend too much time on here. I think Trevion Henderson came back, so that obviously helped the Patriots a lot. I think the Patriots aren't clicking on offense. They haven't been able to figure it out, and that's a real bad sign for McCarthy, who just got there and he's known for his offense. Steelers only scoring three points there. What else? Their defense is usually the thing that helps them out the most and they couldn't figure it out and their offensive line is just not good. And when you have an old quarterback and your offensive line is like that, you're gonna you're gonna have some problems. The Pats are just gonna do their thing this year. I think the Kryptonite is Seattle and even that, like that like a storybook ending, maybe they make they, you know, they meet again at some point and well I guess it would be in the Super Bowl, right? Yeah. man, a rematch I don't think we've had a rematch in a while. We probably should check that out. but That's just their kryptonite. Maybe you know, you lose the first game of the year, it can win the Super Bowl. So Well, yeah, I think we don't want that as Yeah, I I I'm I'm with ya. I'm with ya. Packers Jets. Can you know what? Let's just keep my rant. Let's keep my rant for later on. Yes. Okay, Browns, Tampa Bay. Browns Tampa Bay. I mean, this is a shocker, especially to me, because I have the Bucks as my survivor pick. And of course, I am out week two again. Just suck. I can't figure it out. I I genuinely thought that the Bucs were gonna were gonna kill them. And I thought they were really in a position that they kind of had to win just because of that first that first win was bad. That first loss was bad in week one. And now it's like you're home, you're against the Browns. Baker, there's stories there, right? Baker's going against the Browns, his old team. and they just don't look good, man. They don't look good. and there's really no excuse. I mean, yeah, sure, there was a two hour delay, but like that was after the game was over already, it felt like. so I don't know. I I I think the Browns got away with one. I don't think they're that good. I don't think this is gonna continue. And I think that they should, you know, bake, you know. r really enjoy this win because I don't think there's gonna be a lot of them and I don't know where the Bucks are gonna go 'cause that division sucks, so I guess they'll always be in it, but that's my take. The Saints could continue to on their trajectory like that. But Totally. I I just look at those odds by the way. Mm yeah, I know. It's not probab well after this past week probably not the greatest. the Bucks out without Mike Evans, man, I I feel like that has an impact on their offense too. That's something that like no one talks about. Great point. Yeah. No, someone, yeah, I was listening to some radio or something today and they were they were saying that too. missing daddy, man. They're missing daddy. That's all I gotta say. Eagles 24, Titans 20. Call it what you want, man. We spanked the Titans. The Eagles were struggling with the with the Titans. And I was texting Mueller the entire game, just like, dude, I don't want to hear. He's like, we of course you pick the Eagles in his Survivor and he Freaking gets away with it. I can't wait till he loses because I'm gonna freaking grill this kid. Literally, I'm gonna grill him the second it hits zero zero on the matchup that he loses. I just can't wait. So yeah, I mean look, good teams figure out a way to win, and that's one thing I will give them. And regardless of the situation, they came out, they got a W and they were able to figure it out. Jalen Hurts deserves a little more credit. Winning's winning. Whether you win by an inch or a mile, what movie? Fast Fierce. Come on. Let's go. Denver Broncos 20. Jags 13. I saw this one. This one was easy for me. I think the Jaguars played the Browns in the week one, and I thought that that was just an easy matchup, and they used it as an opportunity to kick off the season on a good note. And the Broncos lost to the Chiefs, and that was just a really hard game, right? To come back to the Chiefs were fully loaded, they were home, everyone's hyped. I think it was 9-11 weekend, right? So, like, there's just vibes all over. yeah, I think. The Broncos are home. Their defense is legit. Bonicks just needed to kind of figure it out, get all the jitters out. And the Jaguars, I'm not saying they're not good. I'm just saying the Broncos are better. That's really where I stand. Any more to say there. I think you hit that right in the nail. Raiders 26. Chargers 14. Raiders are 2-0, and Chargers are 0-2. The Raiders. Yeah, dude, what the heck is going on out here? Kirko chains, baby. Kirk O Chains. Kirko Chains. Dude, he's legit. He's speaker-3: I mean speaker-0: like that. He's just corny to me, man. I don't know if you if anyone watching has seen the quarterbacks documentary on Netflix. I Pete thinks he saw he sold him on that. To me, I was like, this guy's trying so hard to just be mediocre. I'm like, he I just he's not an up mediocre. He Kirk Cousins is not mediocre. I he had a horrible season last season. He barely played and now he's in a good system. Sure at his at his at his career. I mean, look, the the real story here is the Chargers starting the season and two. And this game was supposed to be that game that they should probably win. It's not looking good for them. And honestly, Harbaugh, I think you could argue that he might be in the hot seat. Really? People are arguing that, dude. Yes. I don't know. I think that's just that's just banter. It's not just a season, though. It's it's how they've looked in. I mean, he's been there for what, three years now? No, it's just his second season. You sure? I'm pretty sure. Yeah. I don't know. People, you know how it is. People have short leashes in the league. And the Chargers have been this notorious, like loaded roster, and they can't figure it out every freaking year. Seahawks 31 cards seven. Seahawks 31 cards seven. Look, I I I don't think there's anything to talk about here. I think the Seahawks are coming off the Super Bowl, and I think people are sleeping on them. They're really good despite Sam Darnold being out. Drew Locke stepping up, killing it. Cardinals Walker and losing Kenneth Walker, but they figured it out. There, there are other running backs that have come in are pretty good. they still have JSN who's a monster, and Drew Locke obviously is is you know is clicking with all these guys. So he's like almost the perfect backup, which is what you want, honestly, in this league. So I think the Cardinals got got lucky week one. and this is what happens when you when you face a real team. Co their coaches got them playing like a team, man. Watching hard knocks was like so much fun this season with them. I just I I I like I would want to play for that coach. So Cowboys. How about them boys? 37, Washington Commanders 20. You know, a lot of folks before the season they were like Cowboys this, Cowboys that. Then they come out flat a little bit against the Giants. and people overreacted. And here we go. They did they took care of business, they did what they were supposed to do. I don't know if Jaden Daniels is that contributed to that loss or not, but they got the W and they still scored 37 points. Yeah. I mean, look, I have Dak in my fantasy and I'm super excited that he did this. He freaking killed it. and look, I I think this is an overreaction league, right? Like one week at a time and people just forget like what they what the team actually has. They're loaded on offense. This is a Super Bowl team on offense if they could figure it out, if Dak could figure it out in the playoffs. Their defense is a problem. They need to figure that out. Like the Commanders are just aren't that good and they still score 20 and they're just gonna struggle all year on that. So they just they need to figure that piece out. Really feel bad for Jaden Daniels. Obviously, the injury bug hit everyone this this week. Dude, that elbow, he's just dude, he he's RG3 2.0. Yep. It's unfortunate. It's sad. It really is sad, man. Cause he has a lot of talent, but it's just to me, honestly, it sounds crazy. Call me crazy, but if I'm the commanders, I'm looking for a way out. I'm looking for a way out with him. you're trying to trade him, you're saying for talent? Trade him, talent, get something, or find the next quarterback. Like figure out what you need to do because Who's your quarterback? So your losses early, man. Who's the quarterback that you would pick up at the moment? That's on the sideline right now. Sideline? Ooh, that's really hard, dude. Mm. Yeah, I I can't answer this question either. I don't know. I don't know, man. This this is I mean Call Derek Carr out of retirement. He was thinking about coming out of retirement. Not Derek Carr. You're thinking about Drew Brees. No, dude. Drew Brees is old. No, Drew Brees really was thinking about coming back for the Broncos. No, he wasn't. Drew Brees, dude. Drew Brees, yes. Look it up. When this guy got hurt, because his coach. Sean Payton. Sean Payton, yeah. Really? I don't know if I didn't hear about that. Serious, serious, but he i I it's like I contemplated it coming out retirement. That's interesting. I mean he's old, he hasn't played in a minute. Like I know, I know that would have he's more years removed than Phillip Rivers, and like that was you. I mean, you saw all the Philip Rivers stuff last year, so yeah, I forgot about that. That was fucking Drew Brees considered coming out of retirement to play for the Denver Broncos during the twenty twenty five postseason. But physical limitations and NFL rules made a return impossible. twenty twenty-five postseason. Interesting. Wow. shit. Dude, I mean, how tempty would that be, right? The something can be typical, like you can still got it. It's a win win. You come in, you crush it, you you become even more of a legend than you are. If you stink, it's like, well, that's the reason why I was retired. Yeah. Just saying. total forty niners. Thirty-five, Miami Dolphins thirteen. This was the biggest spread of the week. Forty Niners coming back from Australia. We're thinking a little bit of jet lag. They're gonna struggle. negative. Negative. They took care of business. Not gonna talk about here, man. This is a blowout. Dolphins are really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really bad. They're just they're really bad. They're j They're trying to get the best quarterback next year. And they're just young. They just haven't figured it out. They're a young nucleus, and they'll get there. Sunday night football, Chiefs 33, Colts 30. What a game. Wow. I had turned this TV this one off too. I I never turned games off, and I turned this one off. And then I see they went to overtime. I was like, what? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this one, dude. I I mean I My new rule I think is anything prime time, you go with the dog. I don't care what the spread is. Like it's just it it makes sense. You know? Yeah. It just makes sense. So yeah, this this one was interesting. What's what's really interesting to me is I just love to plug this in. We traded Sauce Gardner to them, and they have been like one in eight ever since like that happened. He he had one thrown like straight to him, like well not straight to him, but he tipped it up and he almost got the into I saw that. Yeah. I saw that. Honestly, though, he doesn't look good, bro. Everyone's like that that was the trade of the century. Yeah, they said something about like the amount of interceptions that he had, like it was very low. I think it was like one of the lowest. He's known for that. He's known for that. He's known for like lockdown D, but he literally can't get a turnover. Yeah. Like he actually can't complete the turnover, is what I mean. I'd like to see Darrell Revis interceptions and see like where he stacks. dude, he doesn't even come close to him. But he he's like I know it's island stuff, but it's just that'd be that'd just be interesting. Yeah, you'll see a huge, huge, huge gap. He is that's no, it's it's like really it's crazy, dude. It's crazy. That's why we saw And then like I they were com like there's comparisons and stuff. Like not I know Reeb I'm not saying Rebus is in his own like island. Totally, totally. But still, I don't know. That's just interesting when they said that that quote I was like, shoot. That's that. Monday night. Monday night Rams twenty-eight, Giants six, man. This is a sad one. I I know I know Dom and Rob, we were talking about it earlier, but to me this game should have been closer. I I I think to have both of those teams not impacted by the thing. I know they had the lo they had the loss, so they're gonna bounce back, but you're coming from Australia. I don't care, man. And I know they had extra time with Monday. The Giants probably came in a game plan getting injured there early on. Just through the game. It just did. It totally. It's it sucked the energy out of it. I'm riding the wave, man. I I like I'm a New York fan in in in all, honestly. Obviously, if we're going against them, then I'll go against them. But like I wanted to see the Giants like do well here. I I figured it was gonna be a bounce back game, but I I really do want to see what the potential is of all of them, you know, doing well. This whole this whole nucleus of the Giants. It's just it's an energy that you can't deny. That's one. But they just can't seem to to shake off that injury bug, man. And it's sad. It it really is sad. And we'll see. But I saw a stat, interesting stat actually. It was like neighbors, Scatterboo and Dart, the percentage that they've been on the field is like like the amount of plays that all of them have been on the field is incredibly low. Really? Really, really, really, really low. Like shockingly low. obviously goes to the injuries, right? But like some things you just can't control, man. And I think like you really need to figure out that contingency plan, especially when you have a team like this, so that you can keep the momentum kind of going. And James, like he he typically would be that person. I I I mean, look, last year he looked really good. This year he and he did look good in the preseasons too, man. I don't get deflated with him. I feel like his focus is not there. some reason like I've seen it on a couple of social media stuff. I just totally he's like leveraging the whole New York stuff. but like I loved watching him. I I didn't mind him throwing a couple interceptions. He just would throw it out but because I looked at it as it was a long punt as long as the team could still like not lose their momentum totally. with that but he would give you a chance you know like he would sling that thing. So I don't know maybe maybe he needs a full week of prep Is what he needs. He got thrown in the game. The energy was gone already. But he just he looked like off. He looked like he didn't know like the playbook. Like he was like, all right, the wide receiver should be here. And he was like in a complete other spot. You know what I mean? Like those are things that when you see down the field, I feel like past seasons I saw it and be like, make maybe he's just having a bad game. And now I'm like I feel like I'm starting to realize that like a little lost new new systems are a real challenge. Like this isn't like it doesn't matter if you're like a seasoned vet. Like it's it's a brand new system, dude. You have to like Learn it from scratch. So I think that that you're really seeing that. I think a week of practice is gonna help them. And depending on who they play next week, I think you're gonna see a different different Giants. they had other couple injuries. Last shout out there is Devontae Adams had a fucking monster game, dude. Yeah. Monster game. Enough of a monster game. Shout out to the other fantasy league I'm in with Mr. Cook, all my St. Joe's boys. I Pat had the most points, and then out of nowhere. because of Devontae Adams' performance, I overtook him and I took the you know, he he does whoever has the high yeah, he whoever has the highest points gets the weekly win. So your boy got the weekly win in that one, which is great. love that's fun. That's fun. All right. Well something on to that part of the show where we say I was deez close. Yeah man. You first wow this one we already discussed But and it wasn't that I was this close, but it just felt that way with the Bears. I just it's minus five and a half. When he g when I saw Caleb going and he was running, I was like, here we go. This is gonna be it. Like this is they're gonna win by convincing maybe ten points, fourteen points to put the heater on. I I I really do believe like they're gonna they were g they I think they still could be the best offensive team. or one of the best offensive team points wise, points wise. but Yeah, that was a blow, man. so Bears was was that for me. it was partially because of what you picked for your I was this close. Well, yeah, let's let's go back to my jets, dude. Ugh. Dom, I know you feel my pain here, man. yeah, I mean look, up up ten in the fourth quarter with ten minutes less. You you just like you really can't make this up. We're having an actual decent game. and you really you gotta start blaming Aaron Glenn on some of these things. I I hate to say it. I was I really want to be a fan of this dude and I think he's actually starting to change like the culture and you can see it. We are definitely a different team. Like despite us people, you know, Jets saying that all the time, like this is different. You could you could very much tell that there's talent on this team and they're able to compete. They just need to learn how to win games, man. Like they need to learn how to finish it out. I mean, look, 13 penalties for 156 yards. You're not gonna win with that. That's one, right? The game management in terms of timeouts. We get the ball back. Aaron Glenn literally at the end of the game says, like, no, I just like it was just too much of a we didn't want to give them time. We just wanted to go into overtime. And it's like, dude, you were doing well all game. Like, Just play the game. You gotta just play at that point. Like us Jess fans, we're used to us losing anyway. So just like figure it out, man. Like take some chances and we're here for it. So I he really blew that. Then there was a fourth and one in the fourth quarter. Sorry, third and one. And we go shotgun, run play. And I'm just like, I don't get it. I I just don't get it. You know, I f I feel like these are like simple, easy mistakes that that people That other teams in the league have figured out already, and the Jets just can't figure it out. And honestly, it comes down to coaching there. To add to that, over time, they win the coin toss and then they elect to take it. Dude, I know you were saying the opposite here, but this is not even a debate. What you do in that situation is you let them go down, you see if your defense can stop them, which their defense has been doing all day. And then you find out what you need. They score a touchdown, you need a touchdown. If they have a field goal, no, I agree with you on this. I agree with you. I I I just mentioned that like some people's philosophies put a little bit of pressure on the folks by sc they're so confident in your offense that you think that they're gonna score. but in this case, just rely on your defense and you're the home crowd. You know, you're at home. Like take your defense, let your defense do what they do. Totally, totally. And he's and he's dude and Aaron Glenn is doing well with the defense. Actually We are the Jets defense is the number one defense in the league right now. Really? Through two weeks. Yep. And what like specific categories of defense do you have? no, no. It's like total, like total total yards allowed, I think. wow. Okay. I mean, look, they played the Titans, right? So that's that's them. But the Packers are a legit team. I don't care what anyone says, man. Like, sure, they're they look a little bumpy, but like We're taking advantage of these things. We just have to fucking finish, man. If we started 2 0, could you imagine the energy in the city? my gosh. That's that was the biggest disappointment out of everything. Fuck, dude, I'm so big. speaker-2: No. speaker-0: It was the biggest disappointment, like 'cause I I like I'm sitting there, I'm like, God. Well, there's two reasons why. One, it was like two and all it was just we just came off the NYX and we're like, the energy in the city is just electric. When you have like NYX. You have the Jets if the Jets do that. If you have the Mets do that, like it's a different type of energy. Like, and the second thing I was pissed off about was like when they were up by ten, it took everything in my in my might to not just go put the Packers whatever the spread was. One money line in No, that's the ju you know that's the juju. We fucking needed it. Yeah, exactly. I know. Reverse Jenxie on that one. Next time I'm texting you immediately and just being like, You have to do it. Just take it. Just take one for the team. I'm I'm I'm over it. I wanna get past this and I want the Jets to do the same thing. So if you're listening, can do the same thing. Guys, forget it. It is what it is. On to the next. Don't let this same old Jets shit like get into your logic. Because if you start doing that early in the season, then it's gonna be down fucking hill, man. Felt like it was on Gino's face at the end of the game. I was like, man, I hope it doesn't ha impact it. Look, there's six and a half dogs this week. Too high against the lion against the Lions. Too high for a team that's the number one defensive team. Just say and the Lions don't look good. They don't look good. So I mean, look, I like that sets it up for a bounce back, right? Win, but neither here or there. Let's see where we go. All right. On to locks and hailmares of the week. I think we have some trailing to do here. We need to figure out what we did. So week two, we had you had lock of the week bears minus five and a half. Against the Vikings, sorry, brother. That's a lowest. Dolphins. yeah, I know. Versus the forty niners plus thirteen and a half. I told you not very confident. Looking back on that, I was like, I just I was didn't feel confident in that one, but it was just too high. I needed to take it. And with the combination of them coming over from Australia Australia, I was like, Maybe we backdoor this one. Yeah. Yeah, totally, totally. And at least I'm consistent here, right? So my lock of the week was Bucks minus eight and half versus the Browns. obviously a loss. And then long shot Giants plus seven and a half versus the Rams. I was feeling it. I was feeling the energy, man. And honestly, I don't know if I agree with I don't know if it was Rob or Dom who said that, but I I think that they would have been in I think that they would have played a little. I think it would have been a lot closer. so we'll see, man. But that that gives us four L's. The four else, the fade bros are back, and we're here to give you some locks. Just do the opposite. Let's fade bros do and we're in. We you can guys can give us a little commission afterwards. Yeah. yeah, you're welcome. Why don't you kick it off for week three? 'Cause I gotta look at mine. Ooh, all right. Week three. Your lock of the week is the Carolina Panthers, minus two and a half. Shout out to my boy Mark Strange. Right. I believe yeah, miss exactly in the pool. I I don't know. I don't get it. I don't get it. Figure it out. Figure it out. This is by far the best pool and the best odds. Yeah, and he's like, it's not about the money. I'm like, that's even the even better. It's about La Familie. It's about the community. That's right. Come jam with us every week. Have fun on Sundays. Bring joy to your life. Anyway, the Panthers are playing the Browns. I don't really like to just fade the Browns just because of fade browns, but they just won. What are the chances of them winning again? Only the Fade Bros have control of it. And not to mention that, it's the the Panthers are actually good. They are a good team. Unless there's a letdown spot here. I just I just feel like the Panthers are just a lot better. They can squeak this one out with a with a with a field goal at the end to win it. Yeah. I mean the only thing I'd say here is I think this is the first time the Browns are home. Are home, yes. Yeah. So after That win to Sean maybe gets a little more love. Like that's I think they're bad. I think they're bad. I know, but like Yeah, you win winning's winning. Winning's winning. Winning forgives all. That's we all know that that's the case. So that's right. And our long shot, my long shot, it's Thursday night. Like you said, prime time, baby. This is the Super Bowl for the Falcons. This is a like this is a must win for the Falcons. So you're if you're gonna give me six and a half, I'll take it. I'll go with the Marco line. Plus six and a half Thursday night versus Our boy Rob our boy Rob's Packers, our boy RJ's Packers, our boy Tisha's Packers. There you go. There you go. Sir Hey, I might I like it. I like those picks, man. you know what? I'm gonna start with my long shot. And I'm not gonna make this hard, Pete. My initial gut as I'm looking through this is the Falcons. Okay. Is the Falcons. Wait, is the lock of the week you're saying or your long shot? No, no, I'm starting with my long shot. I'm just with you. We we we are riding together. We're riding together. That's like a ultimate fade right there, man. That's that's the That's the double fade right there. Unless it's the double negative. Then we got a positive. We're going only one I we'll be able to tell by the end of tomorrow. By the end of Thursday. I like it. Honestly, I think Penix is coming back. I mean he can't be worse than Rosh. the team's still stacked. You know, they gotta be able to figure it out. And I think this is the first time they're home. Is that right? Let me check that out really quick. Packers? No, no, no. The Fal Falcons. Falcons are home. Are the Falcons home? they're not home. Okay, sorry. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know how I feel about that pick anymore. That scare that pick scares me now, actually. And the Packers are coming off of a tough loss. Like maybe they're just like, we really need to bounce back. The Packers didn't lose. They beat the Jets. They didn't play well against the PlayStation. Sorry. They're coming off of like a tough, you know, a matchup that they feel that they should have been better in. this is tough. You're in love eighteen and nine record. I almost want to take the I almost want to take the Chargers. Taking Dom and Rob's take all the lines that no one wants to take. They're playing the Bills. The world is going to be on the Bills. They look bad, Pete. They look really freaking bad, man. When you gotta buckle up. You gotta buckle up, take it, and hold on tight. I gotta put my big boy pants on. That's it. I'm going with the Falcons for the long shot. Lock it in. All right? Falcons or Chargers? Falcons. Falcons, okay? That was my gut. And you wanna really see my nuts? You want me to put them on the table? Ha ha ha. Do you want me to put on the table 'cause I'll do it right now. I wanna hear the lock. You heard that? How about this? I'm taking a dog on my lock. speaker-3: J Shaw. speaker-0: Yo lock of the week. We're not playing, okay? Six and a half you're giving us? Hey, you heard it right here. You're laughing. You're laughing, but I'm serious. Dude, so you're taking the money line too on that one or no? Shit. I might. Six and a half points. That would pay nicely. It's too much. Am I bugging? I'll bugging. I love it. I love it. I don't know. I kind of I mean I just six and a half I is too much. Remember, you can't lose if you go with your gut. Because the truth is is it'll hurt if if they win and or they cover and you don't take man. Yep. Yep. All right. Jets plus six and a half. Lock of the week for Mike Benia. That's it, baby. I'm in. Get me in. So our records for the for the record, our records are Pete is two and two and Mike is one and three. So we'll figure it out. Let's see if we can get back into it. All right, man. Well, round this off. All right. Well, that does it for episode two of season two of Fourth Nvidia Podcast. Dom, Rob, congrats again, man. That was great.
