- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hands to Hester and Hester.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Yep, got it. Five out of five.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each
- 0:11Speaker 1: other on the air.
- 0:11Speaker 4: Flynn is back to throw for the end zone foul.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio. It's Off the Bench.
- 0:45Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in. Now we're number three of
- 0:47Speaker 3: OTB here live from the Raising Cane's studio. I want
- 0:55Speaker 3: to remind you about our friends over at Ochsner. Ochsner.org
- 0:58Speaker 3: is the website to find the care that you need.
- 1:02Speaker 3: We talk about it all the time, so many different
- 1:03Speaker 3: options with Ochsner. We always talk about the orthopedic clinic
- 1:07Speaker 3: right there on the training ground of Elite Training Academy.
- 1:10Speaker 5: It is a full orthopedic clinic.
- 1:13Speaker 3: So any sports injury that you have, including ACLs, they
- 1:17Speaker 3: can handle that. And you're going to have state-of-the-art rehab.
- 1:20Speaker 3: They've got all the bells, all the whistles. Obviously, utilize
- 1:23Speaker 3: the turf fields right there on the campus of Elite
- 1:27Speaker 3: Training Academy as well for your rehab. You can find
- 1:30Speaker 3: all that information again at Ochsner.org to find the care
- 1:33Speaker 3: that you need, Ochsner.org. All right, LSU is taking on
- 1:38Speaker 3: McNeese this weekend. Now they're a 50-point favorite. We know that.
- 1:43Speaker 3: We know that this game is going to be what
- 1:45Speaker 3: this game is. So instead of doing a full breakdown
- 1:49Speaker 3: of what the opponent looks like, like we normally would do,
- 1:52Speaker 3: we'll just kind of tell you what we're looking for
- 1:54Speaker 3: from the Tigers. Now, the lineup is probably going to
- 1:58Speaker 3: look a little bit different because you've had some devastating injuries.
- 2:02Speaker 3: You're banged up a little bit. And so this is
- 2:04Speaker 3: a game that you can treat a little bit different.
- 2:06Speaker 3: It's not disrespect to your opponent. It's kind of where
- 2:08Speaker 3: you're at and what you have the ability to do
- 2:10Speaker 3: right now. Quarterback. It's going to be a big one.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Is Landon Clark going to start this game? Where is
- 2:17Speaker 3: Sam Levitt right now? Is he going to play a
- 2:19Speaker 3: couple of series? Is he not going to play at all?
- 2:22Speaker 3: The linebacker position, you've lost number one and number four
- 2:27Speaker 3: of the guys in the rotation. So right now you
- 2:29Speaker 3: have number two and number three, number five and number six.
- 2:33Speaker 5: You're thin there. Those other guys, they're core four war daddies.
- 2:38Speaker 3: You take them off special teams now knowing you might
- 2:40Speaker 3: need them down the road.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Those are things that we're paying attention to in this game.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I think some of the defensive back depth that you're
- 2:47Speaker 3: trying to create in this game as well.
- 2:50Speaker 5: All of those are things. Trying to find an RB, too.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Dylan Jones is your number one guy.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I know we put out the video of Harlem Berry,
- 2:58Speaker 3: and I was excited to see him have some success.
- 3:01Speaker 3: We also saw some plays where he needs to continue
- 3:03Speaker 3: to go fast, stop thinking, play. You're a heck of
- 3:05Speaker 3: a football player. Jones is your number one running back.
- 3:08Speaker 3: That's not even a question. but you're trying to find
- 3:10Speaker 3: a number two right now. This is a great opportunity
- 3:14Speaker 3: for Harlem Berry, Stacey Gage, and for Caden Durham to
- 3:18Speaker 3: go out there and get carries with the first-team offensive line,
- 3:21Speaker 3: I would assume. So there is a lot of things
- 3:23Speaker 3: that you can find to try to watch for in
- 3:25Speaker 3: this game.
- 3:27Speaker 6: Yeah, and Atlanta Clark, I want to see a lot
- 3:29Speaker 6: from him at the quarterback position. I want to see
- 3:31Speaker 6: how he goes in there and can operate in offense.
- 3:33Speaker 6: I mean, this is a– just like you said, absolute
- 3:37Speaker 6: zero disrespect to the opponent, but you– You want to
- 3:41Speaker 6: put your starters in there for as little time as possible.
- 3:45Speaker 6: Like you say, one in four linebackers. I want to
- 3:48Speaker 6: get TJ Daughtery out of the game quickly because he
- 3:52Speaker 6: has been so dynamic. You need him. You have to
- 3:55Speaker 6: rely on him for the duration of this season. He
- 3:58Speaker 6: has been so good. I think he is one of
- 3:59Speaker 6: the top linebackers in the country, not just from a
- 4:03Speaker 6: skill set, but from his football IQ that he's shown,
- 4:05Speaker 6: from his athletic ability, the way he can He could
- 4:09Speaker 6: put his head in there. He does everything very, very well. So, look,
- 4:16Speaker 6: it's a game that we've certainly talked about. I don't
- 4:20Speaker 6: enjoy these games. I don't think the players really enjoy
- 4:23Speaker 6: these games, but you got a job to do. And
- 4:25Speaker 6: you have to go and you have to try to
- 4:27Speaker 6: do your best to treat this game just like any
- 4:30Speaker 6: other game. You got a gauntlet ahead of you after
- 4:33Speaker 6: this week, but you have to focus in. on doing
- 4:36Speaker 6: your job, attention to detail. The coaches have a hard
- 4:39Speaker 6: job this week. This is a hard week for the
- 4:41Speaker 6: coaches because not only do they have to spend the
- 4:44Speaker 6: same amount of hours building a game plan, doing their
- 4:47Speaker 6: film work, they still have to go through the steps,
- 4:49Speaker 6: just like if they were about to play Ole Miss,
- 4:52Speaker 6: just like if they're about to play Alabama. You have
- 4:53Speaker 6: to go through all those steps. Watch every single cut-up. Now,
- 4:58Speaker 6: if you look at the– The.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Good thing is you do have so many coaches on
- 5:01Speaker 3: this staff that you can go ahead and plan probably ahead, right?
- 5:05Speaker 5: I'm not trying to be funny.
- 5:06Speaker 6: You can plan for a couple seasons.
- 5:07Speaker 3: You can plan ahead for your next opponent in Kentucky, right?
- 5:12Speaker 5: Because you have enough where you're still showing respect.
- 5:14Speaker 6: But you are not changing what you do. There's always
- 5:20Speaker 6: people looking ahead. You've got guys breaking down one week
- 5:23Speaker 6: ahead every single week. But you're not changing. Just because
- 5:26Speaker 6: it's McNeese, it's not like, hey, Blake Baker, why don't
- 5:29Speaker 6: you go ahead and focus on Kentucky this week or whatever.
- 5:32Speaker 6: You're keeping the same process going. Everything's the same. You
- 5:37Speaker 6: have to. Yes, you've got to show respect, but you're
- 5:41Speaker 6: sitting there as an offensive coordinator, a defensive coordinator, position coach,
- 5:46Speaker 6: whatever it is, and you're having to watch the same
- 5:48Speaker 6: amount of film on McNeese as you did last week
- 5:52Speaker 6: for Texas A & M. And you go through McNeese's schedule.
- 5:56Speaker 6: First game of the season, lost to Stephen F. Austin, 38-27.
- 6:00Speaker 6: They beat Texas Wesleyan, 52-0. Tarleton State beat them. 27-24,
- 6:05Speaker 6: UT Rio Grande, Rio Grande, 27-10. Are you from Texas?
- 6:10Speaker 6: I know. I know, I am. It's been a while
- 6:15Speaker 6: since I've read that before. Then they beat East Texas
- 6:19Speaker 6: A & M last week, 27-24. So these are, like,
- 6:22Speaker 6: you have to go and watch this film just like
- 6:25Speaker 6: it's an SEC opponent. And it's tough. It's a challenge.
- 6:29Speaker 6: It really is. And it's no disrespect, again, like, It
- 6:35Speaker 6: is what it is. It is what it is. They're
- 6:37Speaker 6: in a different league. They shouldn't be playing.
- 6:38Speaker 3: It's an SEC team versus an FCS team. So the
- 6:44Speaker 3: positions that we're looking at, I think you get an
- 6:47Speaker 3: opportunity for Ty Singleton and Zach Weeks to be in
- 6:51Speaker 3: the middle of your defense for a majority of this game.
- 6:53Speaker 5: That's a good thing.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Fahim Delane is going to play a lot of snaps
- 6:57Speaker 3: in this game. It's a good thing to create depth
- 7:00Speaker 3: there in the defensive backfield. Other names that we've talked
- 7:04Speaker 3: about this week. We've already talked about the running backs,
- 7:06Speaker 3: those guys getting an opportunity.
- 7:08Speaker 5: What about receivers? There's a lot of those guys that
- 7:11Speaker 5: we haven't seen a lot from.
- 7:12Speaker 3: And I know they rotate a bit, but it's been
- 7:15Speaker 3: Jackson Harris, it's been Trey Wilson, it's been Winston Watkins.
- 7:18Speaker 3: That's who it's been. You're going to get some other
- 7:21Speaker 3: guys in there. Corey Barber's probably going to get a
- 7:23Speaker 3: lot of run. Jace Brown needs to get some confidence.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Trey Brown, he needs to get some confidence. Get those
- 7:30Speaker 3: guys going a little bit. If he's really going to
- 7:34Speaker 3: be a tight end, okay, let's see what you got.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Let's see what you can do. You've been a receiver.
- 7:40Speaker 3: We need you to play a little tight end. We
- 7:42Speaker 3: need you to be an F in this offense. Let's
- 7:44Speaker 3: see if you can get that done. Zach Grace doesn't
- 7:46Speaker 3: have a career catch yet. Give him a catch. Give
- 7:49Speaker 3: him a touch.
- 7:50Speaker 6: Give him a couple.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Because he's going to be out there. Let's just throw
- 7:53Speaker 3: it to him. Let him run a quick out. Throw
- 7:57Speaker 3: it to him. There's things in this game that can
- 8:00Speaker 3: benefit you as you go down the road because of
- 8:03Speaker 3: the situation that you're currently in.
- 8:05Speaker 6: Let me ask you. Experience this Saturday. Does it make
- 8:12Speaker 6: you better? I do.
- 8:17Speaker 3: I'm always in the belief, man, if you're doing something
- 8:21Speaker 3: in a uniform in Tiger Stadium or wherever you play
- 8:24Speaker 3: the game against another team, that helps you. I know
- 8:28Speaker 3: it's not going to be the same speed, the same strength.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I know all of that. But if you haven't done
- 8:32Speaker 3: it and you're getting to do it with live bullets,
- 8:37Speaker 3: I'm never going to say that doesn't matter. I think
- 8:40Speaker 3: preseason experience matters. I think scrimmaging matters.
- 8:43Speaker 5: That's why we do it. That's why people scrimmage.
- 8:46Speaker 3: You do it to get better, to get reps, to
- 8:49Speaker 3: see what it looks like. And is it going to
- 8:52Speaker 3: be like it's going to be in Lexington in two weeks?
- 8:54Speaker 6: No.
- 8:55Speaker 3: But I'm more talking from a running back's perspective because
- 8:59Speaker 3: that's all I know.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Getting carries and live bullets, I don't care.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Who you're playing against.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Okay.
- 9:06Speaker 6: I think for certain positions.
- 9:08Speaker 3: You're seeing the vision. You're getting hit. You haven't had
- 9:12Speaker 3: ball security. And pass protection, you've got to do, read
- 9:15Speaker 3: your keys. Now, is it going to be easier in
- 9:18Speaker 3: this one?
- 9:18Speaker 5: Maybe it is. But still, just going through, reading your keys.
- 9:23Speaker 3: If a backside safety comes and you go across the formation,
- 9:25Speaker 3: you pick him up. Those are things that you can
- 9:29Speaker 3: use today that are going to pay off tomorrow. I
- 9:33Speaker 3: don't know about you. I don't know your position. It
- 9:36Speaker 3: sounds like you don't think that they help.
- 9:41Speaker 6: I'm trying to put my finger on it the best
- 9:43Speaker 6: way because I know a certain position it does. Anytime
- 9:46Speaker 6: you're doing something, you're getting better. Anytime you're practicing something. Now,
- 9:55Speaker 6: trying to like find a comparison to another sport. Like
- 10:00Speaker 6: if you're a, if you're a professional baseball player and
- 10:07Speaker 6: you want to work on your hitting, does it help?
- 10:10Speaker 6: Does it help you as a hitter to hit against
- 10:14Speaker 6: a pitcher? That's not in your league. I don't know. Well,
- 10:20Speaker 6: I would say no. It doesn't help you get better
- 10:23Speaker 6: in your league. So, for my position, I hated these games.
- 10:30Speaker 6: I never got better because I mentally couldn't get out
- 10:33Speaker 6: there and get that same competitive attitude.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah, but also, like, when we were in those games
- 10:41Speaker 3: together and I moved from fullback to running back, you
- 10:43Speaker 3: came off the sideline.
- 10:44Speaker 5: The game was already decided. Like, that probably plays into
- 10:48Speaker 5: it as well.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. You know what I mean? Mm-hmm.
- 10:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 3: We didn't get a chance to start these games at
- 10:54Speaker 3: our positions. I'm trying to think. I don't think we
- 10:55Speaker 3: played one of these in 07. Maybe we did, and
- 10:58Speaker 3: I forgot. I don't remember them.
- 11:02Speaker 5: But I think that probably has something to do with
- 11:03Speaker 5: it as well.
- 11:04Speaker 3: And there's going to be guys that are in that
- 11:05Speaker 3: same situation. Like if Longstreet comes into the game, he's
- 11:10Speaker 3: probably going to feel like you did.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I hated it. I didn't hate it.
- 11:15Speaker 7: That's a strong word. I'm looking up if we had
- 11:23Speaker 7: one of these freaking purple jersey games. Do we know
- 11:28Speaker 7: if we're wearing purple?
- 11:29Speaker 6: We better.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Let's see. We went at Mississippi State, Virginia Tech at home,
- 11:37Speaker 3: Middle Tennessee, which you didn't play in that game, right?
- 11:40Speaker 6: Did not. Coming off a high ankle.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Number 12, South Carolina at Tulane.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Number 9, Florida. Number 17, Kentucky. Number 17, Auburn. Number 17, Alabama.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Number 17 team three weeks in a row. Louisiana Tech,
- 11:53Speaker 3: at Ole Miss, Arkansas, number 14, Tennessee, number one, Ohio State.
- 11:59Speaker 5: So, we didn't have one of those games when you
- 12:01Speaker 5: were the starter. And the one that we did, you
- 12:03Speaker 5: didn't play in.
- 12:04Speaker 6: I mean, you wouldn't consider La Tech doing that?
- 12:10Speaker 1: No.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Consider them FCS teams?
- 12:13Speaker 6: No, I just– No. No.
- 12:15Speaker 3: No. No. No.
- 12:20Speaker 5: I mean, Tulane had Matt Forte. Yeah, they gave us
- 12:23Speaker 5: some fight, too.
- 12:25Speaker 6: They gave us some fight. Anyway, I don't like going
- 12:31Speaker 6: into a game where their biggest concern is don't get
- 12:34Speaker 6: people injured, which is what I think about. I assume
- 12:41Speaker 6: that's what a lot of LSU fans think about as well.
- 12:47Speaker 3: The year before, in 2006... ULL, Arizona, Tulane, and Fresno State.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Fresno State games suck. We won 38-6.
- 13:02Speaker 3: It was rainy.
- 13:03Speaker 6: That was a bad game. Yucky.
- 13:08Speaker 3: I didn't like that one.
- 13:09Speaker 6: 2005, we did North Texas.
- 13:12Speaker 5: We had App State 2-0-5, right? Or was that 0-4?
- 13:14Speaker 6: I don't know. I know North Texas has got three toads.
- 13:19Speaker 5: App State was still FCS when we played them. We
- 13:21Speaker 5: won like 21-0. We didn't pull away.
- 13:23Speaker 6: 05?
- 13:25Speaker 3: Maybe it was. Maybe. It was 11 a.m.? No, it
- 13:28Speaker 3: was night. The 11 a.m. was 08.
- 13:30Speaker 6: That's right.
- 13:30Speaker 3: That's when we were gone. I remember watching it in
- 13:34Speaker 3: my condo in San Diego.
- 13:36Speaker 6: It was early. What do you do as a running
- 13:39Speaker 6: backs coach this week? To get your guys mentally right.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Are you?
- 13:45Speaker 3: It's easy.
- 13:46Speaker 6: So the running back screw it is.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Kevin has the easiest job of any position.
- 13:50Speaker 6: You're right. The running back screw it is.
- 13:52Speaker 3: He's got the easiest one.
- 13:53Speaker 6: 0-5.
- 13:54Speaker 3: 0-5. What was the score?
- 13:59Speaker 1: 21-0?
- 14:00Speaker 3: 24. Oh.
- 14:00Speaker 1: 24-0.
- 14:00Speaker 6: Yeah, because you probably got two running backs that are pissed. Yeah. Yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 5: You're challenging the hell out of those two guys this week.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Oh, you want to go on the field? Go prove it.
- 14:11Speaker 5: They challenged Harlem a little bit last week.
- 14:14Speaker 3: And again... It wasn't the cleanest game. I know the stats,
- 14:16Speaker 3: and I know the long run. He knows he can
- 14:18Speaker 3: be better. And it's good that he had that long run.
- 14:21Speaker 3: He can build off that. I'd love to see Harlem
- 14:25Speaker 3: get some confidence back. And he knows he's got to
- 14:29Speaker 3: do a little bit more. He's got to be more sudden.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Okay, all right. Okay, so you're about to play a
- 14:38Speaker 6: team that just lost to Texas A & M, right?
- 14:42Speaker 6: So how much confidence can you build? If you have
- 14:45Speaker 6: a good game at a running back. I'm sorry, they
- 14:48Speaker 6: beat East Texas A & M 27-24. Yeah, because we
- 14:51Speaker 6: made the joke. Texas A & M hates to see
- 14:53Speaker 6: a Louisiana team come last week. I mean, maybe you
- 14:59Speaker 6: and I are different.
- 15:00Speaker 3: If I went out there and I got 10 carries
- 15:03Speaker 3: for 95 yards and two tuds, I'm feeling pretty good
- 15:06Speaker 3: at Fred's after the game.
- 15:07Speaker 4: For sure.
- 15:08Speaker 6: I mean, I got that.
- 15:09Speaker 3: And I'm pretty confident about, okay, I'm back. I'm now
- 15:12Speaker 3: in their sight line. They now, when they see me,
- 15:17Speaker 3: they view me in.
- 15:18Speaker 5: A different way. Like, that's how I would feel. And
- 15:21Speaker 5: I don't think I ever had.
- 15:23Speaker 3: A good purple jersey game, if I'm being honest.
- 15:27Speaker 6: Well, you had a long run in the purple jersey.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Oh, that means the one. But, like, I don't remember
- 15:32Speaker 5: Middle Tennessee.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Like, I don't remember it, but I'm saying I know
- 15:36Speaker 3: for me when I was hungry for carries, I didn't
- 15:39Speaker 3: care how I got fed.
- 15:40Speaker 5: I just needed to eat.
- 15:41Speaker 6: You needed to eat.
- 15:42Speaker 3: You know what I mean? And I think Harlan Berry
- 15:44Speaker 3: and Caden Durham should be like that. Stacey Gage should
- 15:46Speaker 3: be like that too. They're clearly opening up who's behind
- 15:50Speaker 3: Dylan Jones right now. We saw Harlan Berry be the
- 15:53Speaker 3: two when it's been Stacey Gage. So they're opening that up.
- 15:58Speaker 3: They're trying to give you five carries a game potentially,
- 16:00Speaker 3: but you got to go take them. I think receiver.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I think you can get a lot of favor in
- 16:07Speaker 3: this game as a receiver. You got enough of them.
- 16:12Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Like, You want to– all right.
- 16:15Speaker 3: You want to get in that rotation? They like to
- 16:16Speaker 3: rotate receivers.
- 16:18Speaker 6: Love it.
- 16:18Speaker 3: They haven't been able to as much because you haven't
- 16:20Speaker 3: shown up. So, I don't know. Go score 80.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Go Tigers.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Go Tigers.
- 16:29Speaker 6: Running clock? I do love running clock. I know. I
- 16:34Speaker 6: do too. A couple weeks ago. All right. Y'all said
- 16:37Speaker 6: something that blew my mind. Which is the game that
- 16:39Speaker 6: coaches got together? The Miami?
- 16:41Speaker 3: Miami?
- 16:42Speaker 5: It was a college football game. College football game.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I think it was Miami, Florida A & M.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Because they were up like 65 to nothing in like
- 16:49Speaker 4: the third quarter.
- 16:49Speaker 3: It was Miami, FAMU. They got together and had.
- 16:52Speaker 6: I didn't even know that was possible.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I didn't either. They shortened the quarter.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Here in Louisiana, I think it's 42 points.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I know. Livonia and U High were 44 to nothing
- 17:04Speaker 3: in half, and they ran the clock the whole time.
- 17:05Speaker 6: I think if you get to like the 42. All right.

- 20:28Speaker 1: segment hungry. This is Munchies with Executive Chef Michael Johnson.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Let's eat.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Chef, what's going on, brother?
- 20:36Speaker 6: How we doing?
- 20:37Speaker 3: How we living this week?
- 20:37Speaker 2: I'm living. How are y'all?
- 20:39Speaker 3: Oh, man, hold up now. That feels like we got
- 20:41Speaker 3: to unpack some of that.
- 20:43Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I think that these six-hour days have caught up with me,
- 20:47Speaker 2: either that or the ragweed one or the other, but
- 20:49Speaker 2: I'm struggling a little bit right now.
- 20:52Speaker 1: All right.
- 20:53Speaker 2: But I'm here.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Hey, that's all that matters. That is all that matters.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Food is fuel, Chef.
- 20:59Speaker 2: That's right. Well, I've got some lemon ginger tea and...
- 21:01Speaker 2: And a positive spirit.
- 21:03Speaker 3: There you go.
- 21:05Speaker 6: Spirit as well. There you go.
- 21:06Speaker 3: All right.
- 21:07Speaker 6: All right.
- 21:07Speaker 3: So hashtag munchies, love, marry, kill. Gold leaf, micro greens, caviar.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Say that again.
- 21:18Speaker 3: All right. So you got a love one, you got
- 21:20Speaker 3: a marry one, and you got to get rid of one.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Gold leaf, micro greens, caviar.
- 21:26Speaker 6: Oh, man.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I'm leaving gold leaf.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:30Speaker 6: Keep that.
- 21:30Speaker 2: It's not good for the body. It's a precious metal,
- 21:32Speaker 2: and it'll build up. It's not good for you. Oh,
- 21:34Speaker 2: all right. Michael Green's loved one. Give me my options.
- 21:39Speaker 3: You got a loved one. You got to marry one. Oh, man.
- 21:43Speaker 2: I love Michael Green's. I think I'll marry the latter. Caviar. Okay. Caviar.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Caviar's quite tasty.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Fair enough. There you go.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Have you had caviar before, like real beluga caviar?
- 21:54Speaker 3: You know, they didn't have that in Sunset Acres growing up.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I'm going to be honest with you, Chef.
- 21:59Speaker 6: What's up?
- 22:00Speaker 2: It's quite bougie, but, man, there is something about it.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Fair enough. I don't know.
- 22:05Speaker 6: What's your favorite way to caviar?
- 22:08Speaker 2: Well, you're supposed to do it on a spoon made
- 22:10Speaker 2: of bone or oyster or something like that, or pearled,
- 22:14Speaker 2: so that it doesn't react, and serve with creme fraiche,
- 22:18Speaker 2: something of that nature.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Obviously.
- 22:21Speaker 2: The creme fraiche kind of offers this. this acidic, sour
- 22:25Speaker 2: contrast to the salty, buttery caviar. It's a moment of contrast.
- 22:31Speaker 2: It depends on how you eat your oysters, but when
- 22:35Speaker 2: you eat an oyster, at least the salty, bright ones
- 22:38Speaker 2: from the coast, you're supposed to press it against the
- 22:40Speaker 2: roof of your mouth and work it around so you
- 22:43Speaker 2: can capture the whole essence of the oyster. Caviar is
- 22:47Speaker 2: kind of the same way. You're not supposed to chew
- 22:49Speaker 2: it and just swallow it. You're supposed to press them
- 22:51Speaker 2: to the roof of your mouth and And, uh, there's
- 22:54Speaker 2: like this burst of flavor that comes in your mouth and, uh,
- 22:57Speaker 2: you know, like it's meant to be savored. So I
- 22:59Speaker 2: think that that's something worth, worth marrying.
- 23:04Speaker 6: Never had, never had that instruction before. Yeah. All right.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 6: Chef, we had a lot of, uh, we've had a
- 23:11Speaker 6: lot of talk this week here on the show about
- 23:14Speaker 6: different types of milk types of milk. What kind of
- 23:16Speaker 6: milk do y'all serve over there at the performance center?
- 23:18Speaker 2: 1% because skim is too thin and whole is too fatty.
- 23:25Speaker 6: Any like almond milks, coconut milks?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Oh, gosh, yeah. I mean, there's one of every type
- 23:32Speaker 2: of soy. And honestly, we use oat milk a little bit.
- 23:37Speaker 2: At first, I didn't like oat milk, but it's grown
- 23:39Speaker 2: on me. The flavor profile and the texture of it
- 23:43Speaker 2: is something that I've learned to enjoy because I was
- 23:47Speaker 2: told by a doctor a long time ago, milk, milk
- 23:49Speaker 2: is meant for babies and calves.
- 23:52Speaker 3: And Jake.
- 23:53Speaker 2: And Jake. And so I do limit the amount of
- 23:57Speaker 2: milk because I like cheese and I can't have too
- 24:01Speaker 2: much dairy in the life. It's pretty fatty for you.
- 24:04Speaker 2: So I opt out of milk and go with cheese
- 24:07Speaker 2: because I can't imagine a life without cheese, to be
- 24:10Speaker 2: honest with you.
- 24:11Speaker 6: If you had to rank consumption-wise from the team, Which
- 24:16Speaker 6: type of milk gets consumed the most and which type
- 24:19Speaker 6: gets consumed the least?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Well, like in the fueling stations, we do serve whole
- 24:24Speaker 2: milk there. And I would say the whole milk is
- 24:26Speaker 2: probably the largest consumer. We prefer to cook with 1%
- 24:30Speaker 2: because typically we're adding in fats on top of that.
- 24:33Speaker 2: And so if you're fat on top of fat, it's compounding, right?
- 24:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Hashtag munchies. Can chef take down a mountain lion?
- 24:43Speaker 2: Uh, not today.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Not today. Ask me tomorrow.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You almost just defeated me right there, man. You know, like, uh,
- 24:52Speaker 2: I would give her hell on a normal day when
- 24:54Speaker 2: I was feeling bigger, but yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Hey, Hey, you're an outdoorsman. I got faith in you, Jeff.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I've been in the woods before and felt like, uh,
- 25:03Speaker 2: you know, when I lived in Washington, I was in
- 25:05Speaker 2: the woods a couple of times and felt like something
- 25:07Speaker 2: was watching me and had that, had that kind of, Okay,
- 25:11Speaker 2: I'm going to have to fight for it today.
- 25:12Speaker 3: You hear that purr.
- 25:13Speaker 6: It changes things.
- 25:15Speaker 2: It does, brother.
- 25:17Speaker 6: Hashtag munchies. What's the best okra-based recipe you've come across?
- 25:22Speaker 2: I just like smothered okra. Okra and tomatoes. I like
- 25:24Speaker 2: them fresh and cooked like that. I don't know. Frozen
- 25:30Speaker 2: okra has its place, but I like it fresh. I
- 25:34Speaker 2: like to blanch it to kill some of the.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Viscous liquid that comes out of it, if you will,
- 25:42Speaker 2: because it can be a little overwhelming. So if you
- 25:46Speaker 2: blanch it in hot water, it'll pull some of that
- 25:48Speaker 2: out and then you can just do it. But it
- 25:49Speaker 2: doesn't turn out quite as slimy. And I like good tomatoes.
- 25:53Speaker 2: I like San Marzano tomatoes because it's low acidity and
- 25:57Speaker 2: they just kind of melt into it rather than jump
- 26:01Speaker 2: in and splash and overtake the dish. They're kind of
- 26:03Speaker 2: subtle in that way.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Hashtag munchies is there a certain dish you all prepare
- 26:12Speaker 3: that the athletes insist on being served all the time
- 26:16Speaker 3: i guess kind.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Of a staple yeah i mean it's it's what you
- 26:20Speaker 2: exactly expect to be at lsu it's crossfish etouffee you
- 26:24Speaker 2: know shrimp creole stuff like that um we serve gumbo
- 26:27Speaker 2: every monday in the middle of the summer even so
- 26:29Speaker 2: you know like it's those louisiana staples um And we
- 26:34Speaker 2: don't have a problem with those because we cook them
- 26:35Speaker 2: in a healthier manner with stocks and stuff and replace
- 26:38Speaker 2: this fat with that fat.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Is there one, Chef, is there one where, like, this
- 26:44Speaker 3: sport really loves it, this sport not as much?
- 26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe the shrimp creole. Everybody loves crawfish, as you
- 26:53Speaker 2: say here. We have a guy, his name is Silas.
- 26:55Speaker 2: He's one of my chefs, and he's been with me
- 26:57Speaker 2: since he was what we call the helper. Like, he
- 26:59Speaker 2: helped put things up in the storage room. That's how...
- 27:03Speaker 2: far he's coming. He's the supervisor now. I've got to
- 27:05Speaker 2: give a shout out to him because he makes some
- 27:07Speaker 2: of the best etouffee I've ever had. And people, you know,
- 27:10Speaker 2: like at lunchtime flock to the flock to the PNC.
- 27:14Speaker 2: If we have etouffee on, it's going to be a
- 27:16Speaker 2: busy day. So shrimp creoles a little bit. You know,
- 27:20Speaker 2: not everybody feels the same way about shrimp. It seems
- 27:23Speaker 2: like the crawfish go over just a little bit better.
- 27:27Speaker 2: And maybe it's because of the recipe. And then Like
- 27:30Speaker 2: we'll do a gator sauce pecan. There's some people that
- 27:32Speaker 2: really love gator, and there's people that love gator. So
- 27:35Speaker 2: that's one of those dishes I think that some of
- 27:39Speaker 2: the sports that have a lot of Louisianans in them
- 27:42Speaker 2: will come and flock to that. But some of the
- 27:43Speaker 2: sports that have a lot of international kids or less
- 27:46Speaker 2: adventurous kids or, you know, Midwestern kids perhaps, they kind
- 27:51Speaker 2: of shy away from the gator.
- 27:53Speaker 6: Hashtag munchies. Best way to cook soft-shell crab other than frying?
- 27:58Speaker 2: Gosh, that's the only way I know how to do it, brother.
- 28:00Speaker 6: That might be one way for that one.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I think that's the best way. I do like to
- 28:06Speaker 2: pan-ay it. Just put it in a screaming hot pan
- 28:08Speaker 2: and dust it with a little flour and pan-ay it
- 28:11Speaker 2: so that you're not completely battering it. You're not deep-frying
- 28:15Speaker 2: it so it's not picking up all the oil. You're
- 28:19Speaker 2: just screaming hot pan and sautéing it.
- 28:21Speaker 6: Do you do some just fried food days, like fried chicken.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 28:30Speaker 6: Absolutely. These are just like mental wellness days, huh?
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. It's a little give is what it is.
- 28:36Speaker 2: You know, we have to build trust, build relationships. And
- 28:38Speaker 2: so we give a little. And so Monday nights is
- 28:41Speaker 2: our deep fried day. And then Wednesday lunch, we do
- 28:44Speaker 2: a deep fried day. And they're positioned with purpose because
- 28:47Speaker 2: Monday is kind of an in-between day for most sports.
- 28:51Speaker 2: And it's also one of our busiest days. So we
- 28:53Speaker 2: capture most of our athletes on Monday night when they're
- 28:55Speaker 2: not in direct competition. They're not, you know, they're not,
- 29:00Speaker 2: you know, directly transitioning to a, to a competition. And
- 29:03Speaker 2: so we, um, usually do it on, on Monday nights.
- 29:06Speaker 2: And if it's anything from fried trout and speckled trout and,
- 29:10Speaker 2: and deep fried chicken to, you know, catfish and stuff
- 29:15Speaker 2: like that, but we, we definitely do it. Um, we
- 29:17Speaker 2: just do it in moderation.
- 29:18Speaker 6: I hadn't done a fish fry in so long. I know.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I love that. Yeah. Catfish. Uh, chef, uh, They want
- 29:26Speaker 3: to know if you ever wear the really tall chef
- 29:28Speaker 3: hat in the kitchen.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I used to. As a matter of fact, LSU is
- 29:32Speaker 2: the first place that I have not worn a tall
- 29:34Speaker 2: chef hat. Even at the stadiums, when I was working
- 29:36Speaker 2: at the stadiums, I wore a tall chef hat. And
- 29:39Speaker 2: it's one of those things, you know, like when somebody
- 29:41Speaker 2: walks into the kitchen, they need to know who's in charge.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And the chef hat automatically identifies that. You know, if
- 29:46Speaker 2: you can see this hat, you kind of, because there's
- 29:49Speaker 2: a lot of white jackets in a professional kitchen. And
- 29:52Speaker 2: so here we do it a little bit more discreetly.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I guess you'd say where we wear baseball caps and
- 30:00Speaker 2: kind of sport-oriented hats, and we delineate the different alignments
- 30:08Speaker 2: of the hierarchy, if you will, with the different colored
- 30:11Speaker 2: chef jackets. So a white jacket means a chef in charge,
- 30:14Speaker 2: a green jacket means a supervisor or hourly chef, and
- 30:17Speaker 2: then a purple or gray jacket means that they're a
- 30:20Speaker 2: cooking chef or an hourly chef or whatever.
- 30:24Speaker 6: Have you ever had a chef that works for you?
- 30:26Speaker 6: Have you ever had them sidelined due to injury on
- 30:28Speaker 6: the job?
- 30:30Speaker 2: Multiple times. Yeah. And I don't know if we can
- 30:33Speaker 2: talk about some of them on the radio, honestly. I mean,
- 30:36Speaker 2: I was sidelined one time at a restaurant here in
- 30:39Speaker 2: Baton Rouge. Somebody dropped a stockpot and it hit the
- 30:42Speaker 2: floor and bounced on me. And this is why you
- 30:45Speaker 2: wear loose fitting clothes because that stockpot full of hot water,
- 30:48Speaker 2: you know, from the waist down covered me and um,
- 30:52Speaker 2: before I knew what was going on, I was standing,
- 30:54Speaker 2: you know, in my underwear on the hotline with a
- 30:57Speaker 2: couple of, with a couple of aprons wrapped around me because, um, yeah,
- 31:02Speaker 2: I had to get, I had to get out of
- 31:03Speaker 2: those pants in a hurry. And, um, that's also a
- 31:06Speaker 2: good reason why chefs need to wear leather top shoes
- 31:09Speaker 2: instead of soft, soft top shoes, which are comfortable, but
- 31:13Speaker 2: if a nice falls on them or hot liquid falls
- 31:15Speaker 2: on them, it goes straight through. So That's why we
- 31:17Speaker 2: suggest people wear loose-fitting clothes so you can get out
- 31:20Speaker 2: of them quickly and it doesn't go directly to your skin,
- 31:23Speaker 2: and leather shoes so that it protects your feet from
- 31:25Speaker 2: falling or burning objects.
- 31:27Speaker 3: No Smediums in the kitchen.
- 31:31Speaker 2: No jeggings either.
- 31:33Speaker 3: All right, there he is, Chef Michael Johnson. Good enough
- 31:36Speaker 3: to join us every single week to answer your munchie questions. Chef,
- 31:40Speaker 3: we appreciate the time.
- 31:40Speaker 6: As always, brother.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Take care, guys.
- 31:43Speaker 3: All right, we'll take a break.

- 32:23Speaker 6: a long time and doing it the right way. And
- 32:25Speaker 6: I know what you're thinking, because I've kind of thought
- 32:27Speaker 6: the same thing in the past. It's like, man, these
- 32:29Speaker 6: national banks, they made me feel better because they got
- 32:30Speaker 6: all the bells and whistles. Their online platform is really good. Well,
- 32:33Speaker 6: First American Bank has all of the bells and whistles

- 33:01Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Baton Rouge's go-to
- 33:05Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 33:54Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in. OTB here live from the
- 33:57Speaker 3: Raising Cane Studio. I don't know if you've seen this story,
- 34:03Speaker 3: but it feels very OTB. San Diego State football team
- 34:07Speaker 3: is dealing with mumps outbreak.
- 34:09Speaker 6: Really?
- 34:10Speaker 3: Apparently, they're trying to get ready for their Pac-12 opener
- 34:13Speaker 3: against Texas State. Yes, both those teams are now in
- 34:15Speaker 3: the Pac-12. And they have 14 cases on their football team.
- 34:29Speaker 8: Does it say, like, if they traveled somewhere? Is there
- 34:32Speaker 8: a patient zero?
- 34:34Speaker 6: I know.
- 34:35Speaker 3: It's what I'm trying to read right now because it
- 34:37Speaker 3: says it started, obviously, on the football team and hasn't
- 34:43Speaker 3: gone to other sports, which is what their worry was.
- 34:46Speaker 5: They've got 14 cases.
- 34:47Speaker 8: On the football team.
- 34:49Speaker 6: What is mumps? I don't even know. It's a contagious
- 34:51Speaker 6: viral infection that causes painful swelling of the salivary glands,
- 34:54Speaker 6: particularly the Glands located between the ear and the jaw.
- 34:58Speaker 6: So there's actually a very funny episode. This is the
- 35:00Speaker 6: second day in a row I've brought this show up.
- 35:01Speaker 6: There's a very funny episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine where the
- 35:04Speaker 6: two main characters get mumps and they have to quarantine together.
- 35:07Speaker 8: Wait, I remember.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 35:09Speaker 6: And they get mad at each other and they poke
- 35:11Speaker 6: each other's mumps. And apparently it's very painful. The gland
- 35:16Speaker 6: gets swollen right there. Painful swollen cheeks and jaw. Trouble chewing.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Chewing.
- 35:22Speaker 6: Swallowing talking fever and headache muscle aches fatigue loss of
- 35:26Speaker 6: appetite that doesn't sound like a good way to get
- 35:29Speaker 6: ready for a football game.
- 35:35Speaker 4: They hadn't been anywhere crazy because i was wondering if
- 35:37Speaker 4: they had like you know traveled to maybe hawaii or
- 35:40Speaker 4: something because they're in that area but they hadn't.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Uh it says now the university is offering students a
- 35:47Speaker 3: free mmr booster.
- 35:50Speaker 6: So Mumps usually goes away on its own.
- 35:52Speaker 8: This feels like it's like a big pharma. They made
- 35:55Speaker 8: the mumps outbreak happen in San Diego.
- 35:57Speaker 6: This is a Wuhan sitch.
- 35:58Speaker 8: Yeah, and they were like, y'all, we got to give
- 36:00Speaker 8: y'all these injections.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Where's Fauci?
- 36:05Speaker 8: Pleading the fist somewhere.
- 36:06Speaker 6: He's got these.
- 36:10Speaker 8: Got him.
- 36:11Speaker 6: Got him.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Bang.
- 36:13Speaker 6: He's got that canister of mumps.
- 36:16Speaker 3: It says that.
- 36:17Speaker 6: He's just throwing the mumps. He's just tossing the mumps.
- 36:20Speaker 6: Take the mumps.
- 36:21Speaker 8: That's very Halloween. He's like in a lab. Mumps.
- 36:26Speaker 6: I'm going to get them.
- 36:27Speaker 8: I'm going to get San Diego.
- 36:28Speaker 6: State University football. That's how you hit the headlines right there.
- 36:33Speaker 6: He knows nothing about football. He's like, San Diego, big city.
- 36:35Speaker 6: I'm sure they like this university. I'm sure this is
- 36:38Speaker 6: going to be a big deal. This will be a
- 36:39Speaker 6: big deal.
- 36:40Speaker 4: This will catch everybody's attention.
- 36:42Speaker 6: Oh, big mumps out there just trying to sell vaccines.
- 36:46Speaker 8: Oh, big mumps.
- 36:47Speaker 6: Oh, big mumps.
- 36:49Speaker 3: It also says that their coach, Sean Lewis, can't say
- 36:52Speaker 3: which players actually have the mumps because of federal law.
- 36:59Speaker 5: Wow.
- 36:59Speaker 6: Okay.
- 37:00Speaker 8: Okay.
- 37:01Speaker 6: According to the episode of Brooklyn at Night, you could tell.
- 37:04Speaker 6: You'll be able to tell just by looking at them.
- 37:06Speaker 4: You could just look and be like, I think that
- 37:07Speaker 4: guy's got it.
- 37:08Speaker 6: That guy's got it. Chin strap won't fit.
- 37:17Speaker 4: So, wait, are they playing or not?
- 37:19Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, you can't play if 14
- 37:22Speaker 3: players have mumps. If it's contagious.
- 37:26Speaker 6: They don't have 11 more?
- 37:28Speaker 4: Well, the good news is, Matt, if you're looking for
- 37:30Speaker 4: a 930 central kickoff.
- 37:31Speaker 5: They have three dozen people, it said on their injury report.
- 37:36Speaker 6: Let's take the under.
- 37:37Speaker 8: Who are they playing?
- 37:40Speaker 5: Texas State.
- 37:41Speaker 8: He's actually pretty good. You did say that. The Pac-12 opener,
- 37:45Speaker 8: Texas State.
- 37:46Speaker 6: I bet that line's down right now.
- 37:48Speaker 8: San Marcos, famously close to the Pacific.
- 37:50Speaker 6: Obviously.
- 37:56Speaker 8: So 14 people on that team didn't have that vaccine.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Right. Yep.
- 38:03Speaker 6: Spread them.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Texas State.
- 38:09Speaker 6: 14 and a half. I'm betting against the mumps.
- 38:11Speaker 3: 14 and a half?
- 38:12Speaker 8: I don't know. I'm saying because it's spread to 14 people.
- 38:14Speaker 6: Let's see.
- 38:16Speaker 8: That joke had too many layers to it.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Hey, Texas State, seven and a half point favorite.
- 38:22Speaker 8: Hammering it.
- 38:24Speaker 4: I mean, it's not that big of a spread for.
- 38:26Speaker 5: Well, the spread's actually pretty big.
- 38:27Speaker 3: It's 14 people.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:31Speaker 8: Yeah, that one worked better than mine. You're welcome for
- 38:34Speaker 8: setting you up on that.
- 38:35Speaker 5: Appreciate you putting it on the tee for me.
- 38:37Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Texas State. Go Aztecs. Matt, can you tell me which.
- 38:50Speaker 5: Hall of Fame running back played for San Diego State?
- 38:56Speaker 6: Yep, sure can.
- 38:59Speaker 5: He's from Louisiana.
- 39:00Speaker 6: Marshall Falk. Yep. Look at you, man. Boom.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Would you have got it without.
- 39:07Speaker 6: The– I was going to say Marshall Falk, no matter what.
- 39:10Speaker 6: I actually didn't know.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Why Marshall Falk, though? You just didn't know where he went,
- 39:16Speaker 3: and you're like, that's what.
- 39:17Speaker 6: Hall of Fame running back? That's the first Hall of
- 39:18Speaker 6: Fame running back that popped in my mind.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Look at there.
- 39:21Speaker 6: Shout out.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Shout out to Southern. Who now is the head coach
- 39:24Speaker 3: at Southern? Are they hydrated?
- 39:26Speaker 6: They're not. Whoa.
- 39:28Speaker 8: You got to get them hydrated.
- 39:29Speaker 6: You got to get them.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Them.
- 39:30Speaker 6: They have been in the past differently. These universities have
- 39:34Speaker 6: some turnover now. They got changeover, especially like.
- 39:37Speaker 3: In the nutrition area, trainer area.
- 39:41Speaker 6: Of course, the coaches, but like nutritionists, man, they move
- 39:45Speaker 6: around a lot. It's hard to keep up with. It's
- 39:48Speaker 6: great for actually business because like it, If you're on
- 39:50Speaker 6: one team, then they go to different teams and they
- 39:52Speaker 6: bring it. But sometimes you do lose certain colleges.
- 39:58Speaker 3: All right. Let's go ahead and step away. When we
- 40:02Speaker 3: come back, we'll ask the bench. Brought to you by
- 40:05Speaker 3: Ice Cold Dos Equis. It's always a great time to
- 40:08Speaker 3: go for a dose. And we'll do it right here,

- 41:16Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 41:19Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 41:21Speaker 6: © transcript Emily Beynon All right, welcome back here. Sorry,
- 41:55Speaker 6: I was trying to wait. I know I was bringing
- 41:57Speaker 6: this in. I was trying to wait for.
- 42:00Speaker 8: But you also cued me.
- 42:01Speaker 6: Like you were ready. I didn't cue you, but then
- 42:02Speaker 6: I was like, wait a minute. I couldn't remember if
- 42:04Speaker 6: it was dropping right there or not. I really wanted
- 42:06Speaker 6: to wait for it. What have we all been waiting for?
- 42:09Speaker 1: Catalyst.
- 42:10Speaker 6: What do you think about Louisiana? What do you think
- 42:12Speaker 6: about energy? One company helping to shape that future is Catalyst. Catalyst.
- 42:18Speaker 6: Commonwealth LNG Export Facility over there in Cameron Parish. Connecting
- 42:20Speaker 6: American natural gas with customers around the world. Now under
- 42:24Speaker 6: construction after reaching that final investment decision in 2026, the
- 42:28Speaker 6: project represents a major investment in Louisiana's future. But it's
- 42:31Speaker 6: about more than just exporting energy. It's about creating Louisiana jobs,
- 42:35Speaker 6: supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and reinforcing Louisiana's position as
- 42:39Speaker 6: one of the world's leading energy hubs. Through its natural
- 42:42Speaker 6: gas production and the Commonwealth LNG project, Catrus is helping
- 42:46Speaker 6: build an integrated energy platform that connects domestic resources with
- 42:49Speaker 6: that growing global demand. As construction continues on Louisiana's Gulf Coast,
- 42:54Speaker 6: Caterus is proud to invest in American energy, American workers,
- 42:56Speaker 6: and a stronger economic future. Caterus, connecting Louisiana energy to
- 42:59Speaker 6: the world. The whole world. To the world! Worldwide.
- 43:06Speaker 8: Kind of like us.
- 43:07Speaker 6: I kind of like Caterus. Worldwide.
- 43:09Speaker 8: Caterus worldwide.
- 43:10Speaker 6: Prestige. Put glue on a bee. And it died. And
- 43:16Speaker 6: it died. Now we know, though. Can't do that.
- 43:23Speaker 4: Investors, possibly you.
- 43:27Speaker 6: Who do you think came up with that line?
- 43:29Speaker 2: What?
- 43:30Speaker 6: Put glue on a bee. Oh, I don't know. Sounds
- 43:33Speaker 6: like someone did that from experience.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Hashtag ask the bench. How much do you think you
- 43:40Speaker 3: can bench press right now? And what's the max you've
- 43:43Speaker 3: done before? The max I've done before.
- 43:48Speaker 8: Are we talking about reps or are you talking about
- 43:50Speaker 8: like a max?
- 43:51Speaker 3: One rep max. 435 I think is the most I've
- 43:54Speaker 3: ever done. Like one rep max.
- 43:55Speaker 5: Probably 315 right now if I'm being honest.
- 43:59Speaker 6: I think 315 was the most I ever did. I
- 44:02Speaker 6: was never a big bench press guy.
- 44:03Speaker 5: What's that benching?
- 44:04Speaker 6: I was never real strong at the bench press.
- 44:07Speaker 4: You got long arms too and that'll hurt you.
- 44:09Speaker 6: I didn't want to get my pecs too big because
- 44:10Speaker 6: I was a thrower. I was more explosive. I could
- 44:13Speaker 6: power clean more than I could bench usually. I like
- 44:16Speaker 6: the quick twitch.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Yeah, well, what about right now?
- 44:18Speaker 6: 225?
- 44:19Speaker 3: I could probably 275, 285.
- 44:22Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 44:25Speaker 3: You've been working out.
- 44:27Speaker 6: I've been doing push-ups at least. I don't know, 50
- 44:29Speaker 6: at least a day.
- 44:30Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 44:31Speaker 8: I'm only repping.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Are you doing bar or dumbbell bench?
- 44:34Speaker 8: Bar with 25s. But that's reps. I don't know. Maybe 115.
- 44:40Speaker 3: I think you can get 135.
- 44:42Speaker 5: I don't think so. I think you can.
- 44:44Speaker 3: I got faith in you.
- 44:45Speaker 8: Maybe if I tried. With the right music?
- 44:47Speaker 6: Yeah. The right environment.
- 44:48Speaker 8: Smelling salts?
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yes.
- 44:49Speaker 6: People yelling at you?
- 44:50Speaker 3: Yes, you can do it.
- 44:51Speaker 5: People slapping you. That's what they do when you max.
- 44:53Speaker 8: Yeah, my upper body's not all that.
- 44:55Speaker 6: Say, what's your bitch? What's your bitch? Max don't know.
- 44:59Speaker 4: I mean, normally when I'm at the gym, I do
- 45:03Speaker 4: three reps of 185, but I mean, I don't know
- 45:06Speaker 4: the max.
- 45:08Speaker 6: So, I mean, I don't know. People still do one
- 45:10Speaker 6: rep maxes. What would that be?
- 45:12Speaker 8: I would like to.
- 45:13Speaker 4: 230, I guess, one rep?
- 45:14Speaker 3: I don't know. What is that?
- 45:15Speaker 5: I think we've turned soft and people have gotten away
- 45:17Speaker 5: from it.
- 45:17Speaker 6: Let's do the six rep max.
- 45:19Speaker 4: I mean, I haven't done a one rep max since
- 45:21Speaker 4: literally high school.
- 45:22Speaker 6: I mean, how do you build a team if you
- 45:23Speaker 6: don't do one rep maxes and get everybody around you
- 45:25Speaker 6: cursing and yelling at you?
- 45:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:27Speaker 5: I bet you Coach Savage does them.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Just from that conversation.
- 45:32Speaker 4: I mean, the one rep max makes sense. It's literally
- 45:33Speaker 4: your max.
- 45:34Speaker 3: We were a big dumbbell bench team in San Diego.
- 45:38Speaker 5: Huge dumbbell bench team.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Shoulder mobility.
- 45:43Speaker 6: I don't think I bench pressed with a bar after
- 45:46Speaker 6: college once until a couple years ago. I started doing
- 45:49Speaker 6: it again every now and then.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Hashtag ask the bench. Least favorite U.S. city to visit?
- 45:56Speaker 6: All the California ones.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Flew into Cleveland and it sucked. I guess I'll go there.
- 46:02Speaker 5: I've been to Cleveland plenty. I would say Oakland.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Okay.
- 46:07Speaker 6: I mean, why would you visit there, though? I guess
- 46:11Speaker 6: the flavor.
- 46:12Speaker 8: I haven't really been many places.
- 46:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 46:14Speaker 6: Most of those California cities stink. There's poop on the ground.
- 46:19Speaker 8: I went to Philadelphia once, and it was whatever.
- 46:21Speaker 6: It was all right.
- 46:24Speaker 8: The Bell was kind of cool, I guess.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:26Speaker 3: At least not bad.
- 46:26Speaker 8: Budokan's a good place to be.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Favorite pop artist or band? Real quick.
- 46:31Speaker 8: Harry Styles.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 46:34Speaker 3: Taylor, hurry.
- 46:35Speaker 6: Three, two, one.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 46:39Speaker 6: Wow. I didn't even say USA.
- 46:41Speaker 5: Whoa.
