- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn German with Fexingo! I'm Lucas, and as usual, Luna is here with me. Ready for something new? Luna: Hey Lucas! You know I'm always ready. But I hope we're not doing another gym towel episode. I think I've asked for a towel a hundred times now. Lucas: No more towels, I promise. Today we're going to learn some body parts. But not the ones we already did. Let's focus on the face and head. Luna: Oh, fun! I always get confused with the German words for nose and mouth. Lucas: Then this is perfect. Let's start with the head itself. The word is 'der Kopf'. Say it with me: der Kopf. Luna: Der Kopf. That's nice and short. Lucas: Exactly. Now, on your head, you have your nose. 'Die Nase'. Repeat: die Nase. Luna: Die Nase. Okay, that's feminine. Nase. Lucas: Good. Next, the mouth: 'der Mund'. Try it: der Mund. Luna: Der Mund. That sounds like 'mouth' a bit. Lucas: It does, doesn't it? Now for eyes: 'die Augen'. Plural, feminine. Say it: die Augen. Luna: Die Augen. That's a pretty word. Aug-en. Lucas: And finally, ears: 'die Ohren'. Repeat: die Ohren. Luna: Die Ohren. Sounds like 'oars' but with an 'n'. I like it. Lucas: Great. So we have der Kopf, die Nase, der Mund, die Augen, die Ohren. Let's do a quick review. I'll say the English, you say the German. Luna: Bring it on. Lucas: Head. Luna: Der Kopf. Lucas: Nose. Luna: Die Nase. Lucas: Mouth. Luna: Der Mund. Lucas: Eyes. Luna: Die Augen. Lucas: Ears. Luna: Die Ohren. Lucas: Perfect! Now let's put them in a little sentence. 'Ich habe einen Kopf.' I have a head. Try it. Luna: Ich habe einen Kopf. That's easy. Lucas: Now: 'Ich habe eine Nase.' I have a nose. Luna: Ich habe eine Nase. Feminine, so 'eine'. Got it. Lucas: And 'Ich habe einen Mund.' Luna: Ich habe einen Mund. Masculine again. Lucas: Exactly. 'Ich habe zwei Augen.' I have two eyes. And 'Ich habe zwei Ohren.' Luna: Ich habe zwei Augen. Ich habe zwei Ohren. That's plural, so 'zwei'. Lucas: You're a natural. Now let's try a little dialogue. Imagine you're at the doctor. I'll be the doctor. 'Was tut weh?' What hurts? Luna: Umm... 'Mein Kopf tut weh.' My head hurts. Lucas: Good! Or 'Meine Nase tut weh.' My nose hurts. Luna: Meine Nase tut weh. That could be a cold. Lucas: Right. Or 'Meine Ohren tun weh.' My ears hurt. That's plural, so 'tun'. Luna: Meine Ohren tun weh. Okay, that's good to know. Lucas: You know, if you're finding this helpful, and if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with German, there's a way to support the show. It keeps us ad-free and going. Luna: Yeah, and honestly, if today's episode was worth a coffee to you, that's the link — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. No pressure, just if it's worth it. Lucas: Exactly. And now back to our body parts. Let's do one more round. I'll point to a part of my head, and you say the German word. Luna: Okay, go ahead. Lucas: Points to his nose. Luna: Die Nase! Lucas: Points to his ear. Luna: Das Ohr? Oh wait, singular is 'das Ohr', right? Lucas: Yes, singular 'das Ohr', plural 'die Ohren'. Good catch. But we've been practicing the plural. So for one ear, it's 'das Ohr'. Try: das Ohr. Luna: Das Ohr. Neuter. So 'Ich habe ein Ohr' but I have two ears, so 'Ich habe zwei Ohren'. Lucas: Exactly. You're picking it up fast. Let's review all five one more time: der Kopf, die Nase, der Mund, die Augen, die Ohren. Repeat after me. Luna: Der Kopf, die Nase, der Mund, die Augen, die Ohren. Lucas: Amazing. That's all for today. Practice these words, maybe point to parts of your head while saying them. It helps. Luna: I will. Thanks, Lucas! And thanks to you listeners. See you next time on Learn German with Fexingo! Lucas: Bye everyone, and keep practicing!
