- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Dove All, daily presented by Genjag.com.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Wednesday, July 15th, as always.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: We are presented by Brass Tax, Coffee, Best Coffee, and Town, so right now we are taking a look at five reasons in my opinion, plus a bonus reason.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: that the Jaguar's will go further in 2026 then they did in 2025.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: And when I say further, I mean, they lost in the wildcard round in 2025, 2025 season, obviously that was January of 2026.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna go further this year.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna talk about why, here today.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Five reasons plus a bonus reason.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: Really, I could give two bonus reasons.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: So total of seven reasons here.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: uh... that we're going to get into it and i'm excited about it uh... training camp is i think exactly two weeks away i know that the jackwars are uh... you know invite and fans out to be out there uh... i plan on being out there for
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Many, many days cover and training camp for the jags.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's a grind, but it's a lot of fun.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I wouldn't rather be doing anything else.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's for dang sure.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: So right now, five reasons the Jaguars will go further.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: Couple bonus reasons as well.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: In 2020, six really appreciate y'all being here.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingjag.com.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new Duval gear.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: So drop your number one reason.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: You think the Jaguars will go further in 2020.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: If you think that they will go further, if you don't, you can let me know why as well in the comment section below.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: So my number one reason, and I don't know if this is the right reason to have it number one, maybe it is, Travis Hunter at Cornerback.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think is such a massive difference than Greg Newsson at Cornerback.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is the biggest like,
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: material, tangible, difference, upgrade, et cetera.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: I like, I think if Travis Hunter was able to play the full season last year and then play against the bills in the wildcard round, I honestly think the Jaguars would have won that game.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think the biggest reason they lost was Greg Newsom couldn't cover.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you have Travis Hunter out there, that's not a problem.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's a completely different ball game for the bill's
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's just my opinion.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think going from someone and Greg Newsom who really struggle with this Jaguar zone scheme to someone and Travis Hunter, who I think is gonna play at worst at a top 10 level at corner back in 2026, is such a massive difference.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, Travis Hunter at Cornerback is easily my number one reason.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not saying Travis Hunter's not playing receiver.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying the biggest difference maker for Travis Hunter, or the biggest difference that Travis Hunter will make, or needs to make in 2026 is playing corner for them.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yes, he will be a part of the offensive game plan week to week.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: He will make plays on offense, but when you have
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi, BTJ, or we'll talk about all that.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: They just need him to be more, they need him more at corner back and he's actually more ready to contribute at a higher level at corner back, which is a good thing.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, this team isn't just learning the basics right now on both sides of the ball.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: Last year, they were learning a complex defense right now.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Last year, they were learning a complex offense right now.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's most of the same players that are here right now that we're here at this time last year.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's mostly the same players.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Not that many new faces outside of rookies.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: So and even like Chris Rodriguez knows this offense already.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: So they're not just learning the basics.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: They are instead of like learning Liam Cohen offense 101, Anthony Campingini, like Defends 101, you're at like probably 301, maybe going on 401, right?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's a big difference to me.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think that a lot of people talk about well,
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: The Liam Cohen offense, there's a year of tape now.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Was there not a year of tape on Liam Cohen's offense before he got to Jacksonville?
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure there was.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm really not concerned with that part of it.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the fact that they are going into year two and they're not just swimming in the deep end with all this verbiage and all the different,
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: having to know multiple plays at a given on a given down, having to be ready for multiple plays on a given down.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think was a big challenge for a lot of the offense early on last year.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think they really grew in that regard and got it figured out.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's a big deal.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think same thing defensively like the linebackers and safety's specifically, and even defensive front at times, so many post-snap rotations.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: so much post-nap movement.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: You're not just learning that right now.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know it.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: You've got it.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: You're moving on and to bigger and better things.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's great.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think,
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Third, I put 2024 draft fix out side of, or 2020 more, 2025 draft fix outside of Travis Hunter stepping up, taking strides, making an impact.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think Basel Tutan has a lot more within him just from a creativity, a explosiveness standpoint.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Caleb Ransal getting out on the field.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be there third safety and the Jack Wars will get into a lot of three safety looks.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I think if he plays well enough, he could, you know, supplant Eric Murray at some point here in 2026 as well as a starting safety.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Antonio Johnson's getting some plan to buy anyone.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that Ransal with his, the two biggest traits he brings in my opinion,
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: unbelievable athleticism.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: He ran in the four threes.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: He can jump 40 inches.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: He also brings versatility, having played outside corner, nickel and now safety, and he is a player that does not miss tackles.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean he's never going to miss tackling the NFL?
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: No, but he's going to be a consistent tackler.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be someone who doesn't shy away from that side of the game.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Why at my limit?
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think when he got on the field as a rookie, he acquitted himself well.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: I can see him stepping up and taking a guard spot, I really can.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: As much as I love Ezra Cleveland and how solid he's been, I think that could happen.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think more likely is the McCary spot at right guard, but yeah, I think why at my loom stepping up, I think, you know, Lee Quint Allen taking another step forward could be a huge for this team.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: And then a couple non-draft picks, but undrived of free agents from last year, Danny Striggow and BJ Green, I think that they're gonna make strides.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Striggow looks really good.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited about that class, even the undrafted for agents.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Number four, they just have too many weapons on offense, I think, for opposing defences to deal with.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: I really do, it's a treasure trove of talent at wide receiver.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Britain strange, basal tune for, you know, everybody talking about how impactful
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Basial Tutant was a good receiver too, like last year.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: You can't forget about that.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think you give him more opportunities as a receiver this year, and Lee Quang Allen's a really good pass down back, too.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: They've got so many weapons on offense.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: So many.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's really an embarrassment of riches.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, there's top level talent, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: There's very good talent parker Washington.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: There's very solid players, Jacobi Myers, Brenton Strange is really good.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a good group.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: He only had 10 catches last year, but on 13 targets and had two touchdowns, like he can get the job done.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he did that in college too.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's pretty clearly an area that he can perform at a high clip.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't know how a defense deals with all those weapons on offense, and the fact that you're able to get into a lot more different personnel packages this year, I would say, competently and successfully, thanks to the improvement at the tight end position behind Britain Strange.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: And my fifth reason here is I think they really have the right mindset in that building.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Not only did they have the right mindset coming into this off season with attacking everything, not being a one-year wonder, not having a sophomore slump, attacking attacking everything, finding their edge.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's been the kind of vibe in the building.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Again, they're also being disrespected.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I think they came in with the right mindset and then you're adding fuel to the fire with all the disrespect of the Texans of the best team in the division.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans are going to the Super Bowl.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, they don't have any players in the top 10 at any position group according to coaches, scouts, executives around the league in that ESPN poll.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's all sorts of reasons they're being disrespected.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Stacking that on top of the mindset they already had, I think is massive.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: um, and a couple more, um, health, even though the Jack Wars weren't missing a ton of players at the end of the season that were, I mean, I guess you could say there were, uh, not having Travis Hunter or Colvin landed in the playoffs, I think was really unfortunate, but health of the players that were actually like still playing.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Each one of the three players that I think their health is a huge jump up besides Travis Hunter and Colvin Lane and potentially Brian Thomas Jr. Trayvon Walker, Eric Armstead, throw Jordan Lewis in there, throw Colvin and Lane in there, but BTJ Travis are excuse me, BTJ Trayvon Walker and Eric Armstead, they all played in the playoff game, but they weren't healthy.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: They all played down the stretch, but they weren't healthy.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: You get a healthy Brian Thomas Jr. Trev on Walker and Eric Arm said I think that is a big, big difference for this football team.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: On top of Travis Hunter, Cole Van Lannon, Jordan Lewis, right?
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then finally, I think the run game is going to be much improved.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know that everybody's like, oh, Travis ET and 1100 dart back.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: Great player, and I think he is a very good, well-rounded player, but the statistics simply show from a success rate standpoint.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: Travis E. T. N. was below average last year.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Bacial Tutan was top five.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Rodriguez was top five.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: You bring in Brian Picucci and emphasis by Liam Cohen to get the stink off of the running game.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's gonna allow them to be more successful down the stretch.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, the running game was not a problem in the playoff last year But it was a problem down the stretch.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: Part of that was they were going against really good run defenses and a lot of those games Part of it was just they needed to improve and I think that they're going to improve and so I think the Jaguar is having a really good shot It going on a good bit further than they did last year
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: y'all know I've ranked them in the AFC as the second best team.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: I have the bill slightly ahead of them still because the bills didn't sit on their hands either.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they went and got DJ Moore, they went got Bradley Chubb, at Oliver's back, like they still have Josh Allen.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they probably upgraded their coaching staff overall.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jim Leonard is a really good defensive coach.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I have the bill slightly ahead.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars got approved.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: They can beat them in a January game.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and again, like I said, I think in that game, if Travis Hunter played, they would have won, but again, DJ Moore, Bradley Chub, at all over Jim Leonard, those are some pretty good new additions.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe and also check out jing Jack.com, pick up some new Duval Gear.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that hype button, and I did just mention the bills, closing thought.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just the dose.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: The AFC is loaded with quality teams, so they've got to get past all of them to get to the Super Bowl.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be a tough assignment, but I do think they have a very good chance to go further than they did last year.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: And really appreciate y'all being here.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Have a good one.
