- 0:57Yeah, yeah. What's up, Molly?
- 1:00It's so good to see you. Good seeing you too.
- 1:02You're here. You're here on a little little
- 1:05tour A. Little yeah, doing shows out
- 1:07here. Yeah, we've been wanting to do
- 1:09this. So I'm like so pumped that we
- 1:11got to do. It I know same same.
- 1:13Last time I saw you at, you were at.
- 1:16Comedy works. Yeah.
- 1:17Yeah. Great show anyone who is a fan
- 1:23of laughing their little ass off.
- 1:25Yeah, go ahead and look up where Dustin's.
- 1:28Or big ass. You know all asses come to the
- 1:30show. And we, and especially the big
- 1:32asses, frankly. Especially the big asses I got.
- 1:35I made a bunch of two XL T-shirts, especially for Denver,
- 1:38so. Let's go.
- 1:39Hell yeah. So that's what I like to hear,
- 1:42and that's why you're selling them like crazy.
- 1:44Yeah, it's going good, you know. Yeah.
- 1:47I love coming to Denver. It's it's a great comedy town.
- 1:51I know people here. Yeah.
- 1:53You know, so that's cool. Yeah.
- 1:55You and Annie and like the whole, yeah, that whole crew.
- 1:58It's yeah, it's cool. Yeah, well, I'm so glad you're
- 2:01here. So glad that you made some time
- 2:04to talk about Austin Powers. We're going to have a blast.
- 2:08So. OK, tell me, tell me a little
- 2:11bit about your history with Austin Powers.
- 2:13Like when did you see it for the first time?
- 2:15Like is it like a like a long time favorite?
- 2:18What's? The deal.
- 2:18OK, so here's the deal. This is like an early memory.
- 2:21I remember just seeing it. We had this small theater in
- 2:24town. I'm from like the country kinda,
- 2:26and it was this theater that played like it had two screens.
- 2:30There was something on the other one, I can't remember what it
- 2:32was probably something like Bruce Willis movie or some shit.
- 2:35But it was I saw this Austin Powers poster and it was him and
- 2:40like all these like hands around him, like the Finbots hands, you
- 2:43know, and I was just like, what is this?
- 2:45And my my humor was kind of like I wasn't I didn't get stuff, you
- 2:51know, you know, when you're little kid, you don't really get
- 2:53adult humor and stuff. But this movie was the first
- 2:56movie that I was like, I was like, ohh, my.
- 2:59It blew my mind. Yeah.
- 3:01It was like comedy LSD man like. Comedy rocks like.
- 3:05It it unlocked something in me. Yeah, it definitely unlocked
- 3:07something. For you went to the portal.
- 3:09I went yes, I definitely went to the other side with this movie.
- 3:14Oh my gosh. And then and you came back.
- 3:16Yeah, I came back. It was like, it was like one of
- 3:18those movies where I was like, Oh my God, this is funny.
- 3:21And everyone around me thought it was funny.
- 3:22Yeah. Like, you know how your buddies,
- 3:24like always, you kind of like, get the same humor at the same
- 3:26time. Yeah, totally.
- 3:27Like, Oh my God, this is like really good.
- 3:29Yeah, it's really good. And you know, before that I was
- 3:33watching like SNL and stuff, but I didn't know.
- 3:35I didn't really know a lot of Mike Myers things, but I knew,
- 3:39you know, Wayne's World. I'd seen that, but not really.
- 3:42You're like a little kid, kind of just like, oh, that guy looks
- 3:45goofy, you know? And yeah, this kind of got me
- 3:48into my like, just into like, comedy.
- 3:52Yeah, well, I. Started watching SNL after that
- 3:56and I started watching just comedy movies and I found out
- 4:00more about Mike Myers. Yeah, who like one of my
- 4:03favorite, if not all time favorite cast member of Saturday
- 4:06Night. Really.
- 4:07Yeah. Wow, I love, I love Mike Myers.
- 4:10Yeah, dude, like everything he does, I'm like, Oh my God, yeah,
- 4:14'cause after this I watched. So I married an axe murderer and
- 4:17I went on this whole Mike Myers, which I think is very highly
- 4:20under movie. So freaking good.
- 4:22Yeah, definitely. It encapsulates that 90s because
- 4:25I think it's based in, is it San Francisco where that one is?
- 4:28Yeah. And yeah, it's just like, it's
- 4:32cool. He wasn't playing a character
- 4:34except when he played his dad, who was a Scottish guy.
- 4:37Yeah, Oh my God. He moved now.
- 4:40So many quotable things. In that movie, yeah, totally.
- 4:43He's definitely like the 90s quotable movie guy.
- 4:47Yeah. You know, yeah.
- 4:49And I feel like he was kind of the last of that era of SNL
- 4:56sketches turned into movies type thing.
- 4:59You know, like that's something that I think, you know, for the
- 5:03most part it's for the best that we don't do that anymore.
- 5:06Like take something that should just be short form and make it
- 5:09into a whole movie. But but you know you can't fault
- 5:13the guy cuz he really delivered every time so.
- 5:16And we, you know, cuz I'm trying to think the last one SNL did
- 5:20like that. It probably Macgruber.
- 5:22Yeah, probably Macgruber was like a full movie.
- 5:25Yeah. It's just silly.
- 5:26And I love, I love silliness and comedy, you know?
- 5:30Are you? Have you?
- 5:30Seen my show. I'm not like politically driven.
- 5:33I'm not up there like talking things like that.
- 5:37But like, I love silly. Silly is like the best man.
- 5:41Silly is what we're here for, honestly.
- 5:44Like what? Why do it if it's not silly and
- 5:46fun? That's kind of my whole thing.
- 5:49And also I really appreciate that you're I I just have this,
- 5:54I have this beef with comedians that are like, you know, comedy
- 5:57is the modern philosophy. We're the modern philosopher.
- 6:01We're Swedish speaking. We're.
- 6:03Saying the things. That other people can't say.
- 6:05It's like you're just telling a joke and you're and you're
- 6:07talking about poo poo, pee pee and it's.
- 6:09Funny, yeah. And I love that.
- 6:11We need to Sure, we need to laugh, but you know it's don't.
- 6:16Everyone does it, which it's kind of like, you know, comedy's
- 6:20kind of like it's a, it's a spice rack.
- 6:23You know, some people like this, some people like that and, you
- 6:28know, those comics, they can do it.
- 6:30That's cool. What's cool about comedy is you
- 6:32can do whatever you want, you know?
- 6:33But I just never just for me, I've just never been into that.
- 6:37I don't want people to be like, oh, that that show really moved
- 6:41me. Really going to, yeah, I'm going
- 6:44to, I'm going to change who I vote for in the midterm
- 6:46elections because of Dustin, like.
- 6:49Yeah, Destiny Barra, known community organizer.
- 6:54Power of laughter through the power of Dick jokes and.
- 6:58I've seen comics who do that too.
- 7:01I've worked with them before and it's like, it's like starting to
- 7:04shit with the crowd and stuff. And I don't know, I think it's
- 7:07just 'cause I come from like, Dallas and like working the road
- 7:11of like, you know, you go to a show and you're at a bar and you
- 7:15try to make people laugh, right? And like, that's always been my
- 7:18thing in comedies. Like, OK, set up Punchline,
- 7:20let's get to the jokes. Right, that's what the people
- 7:22came here for. But who knows, maybe I'll do
- 7:24that. It's Crusty the clown thing.
- 7:26One day I pull my hair back into a ponytail.
- 7:30Oh my God, they wouldn't see it coming.
- 7:32Smoke a cigarette. They they wouldn't forget it
- 7:35I'll. Say that I burned the
- 7:37Constitution. And it's the real 1.
- 7:41You stole it. Yes, exactly.
- 7:43And that's the whole joke. It's funny.
- 7:46I got a felony, guys, yeah. Better believe it, but as we
- 7:51said, you're doing a metal detector show, picking up trash
- 7:54and treasures and you know if you pick up an up trash, you
- 7:59should be able to just backlog. That I I should be able to, I
- 8:02think so, yeah. I think so.
- 8:04Commit a crime, small misdemeanor, just enough trash.
- 8:06Tiny, tiny. I've been doing that.
- 8:09Dustin digs, by the way, if anyone wants to follow.
- 8:11Oh yeah, absolutely. On YouTube, I put it on my
- 8:13YouTube and my I do it a lot of I do it.
- 8:16I started doing it on TikTok Live 'cause I was metal
- 8:19detecting. I got into it and I lived by the
- 8:20beach, and I was like, you know, as we think this day and age as
- 8:25creators, it's like, OK, I need people to see this.
- 8:28Totally. You're like, all right, got it.
- 8:29Yeah, we were talking about that beforehand.
- 8:31That's like, you can't just like have fun by yourself.
- 8:34It's like, all right, I'm going to mow the lawn.
- 8:36How do I monetize this? Let's put on.
- 8:39Let's put a GoPro on the lawn. You're like, do you think John
- 8:43Deere would sponsor this if I? Yeah, I got a metal detecting
- 8:48company. By the way, shout out Garrett
- 8:50Metal Detectors. Hold out, friend of the pod, if
- 8:53you're a friend of Dustin's, you're a friend of mine.
- 8:55And if you want a sponsor or did that age well, I will get into
- 8:58metal detecting. I'm happy to do it, absolutely.
- 9:01How'd you get into it? How'd?
- 9:02You get just over the pandemic, you know, I'm trying to find
- 9:05like, good hobbies. Yeah.
- 9:07Or chill, you know, good clean fun.
- 9:10Absolutely. It's it's outside.
- 9:12It's outside getting. Plenty of space around.
- 9:15Nature. Little bit of exercise.
- 9:17Love that and now content. Content.
- 9:20Content. I'll put a link.
- 9:22I'll put a link in the show notes, and if you're watching
- 9:24this on YouTube, it'll appear somewhere around here.
- 9:29When you're in LA, we got to go out, we'll hit the beach.
- 9:31Oh my God, I can't wait. It'll be fun.
- 9:33Beep, beep. Beep beep.
- 9:34Yeah, that's how that's how it stands.
- 9:35That's how it goes. Yeah.
- 9:37Beep, beep, beep, beep. Can't.
- 9:37Wait. Can't wait to can't wait to go
- 9:39live with you. We're gonna have fun.
- 9:42And OK, so you're living by the beach, too.
- 9:45Yeah. All right.
- 9:46Redondo. Redondo that's right.
- 9:48That's. Right.
- 9:48I love it over there. I love it living by the beach.
- 9:50It's the best. So cool.
- 9:52Yeah. This is the first place I've
- 9:53lived where I, like, wanted to go home.
- 9:55Like every time I get home I'm like, oh thank God.
- 9:57That's so cool. We're fucking Denver.
- 10:01Finally. That's amazing.
- 10:04That's such a good feeling, like to feel like excited to go home.
- 10:09Yeah. And when you get home, you're
- 10:10just like. It's amazing.
- 10:13So, so rare in the greater LA area.
- 10:19For. People, I don't know, you live
- 10:21there, maybe you have a lot of friends who love living there,
- 10:23but. I kind of live like on the
- 10:24outskirts. Exactly, Yeah.
- 10:26I lived in Hollywood forever and I was just like, oh God,
- 10:29Hollywood. Enough.
- 10:30There's always like, there's like crazy stuff every weekend,
- 10:33every week there's some kind of like protest or something or
- 10:35some kind of I got stuck. Oh my God, wasn't the Popeye's
- 10:38drive through And I pulled out and I was getting ready to to go
- 10:42and a friggin March started like right in front of me and I got
- 10:45stuck in the drive through. Oh.
- 10:47You got stuck in the Popeyes. Drive I got stuck but luckily
- 10:50I'd gotten my food so I was just I.
- 10:51Think I was just going to say I hope that it was.
- 10:55I hope you weren't waiting there at the window.
- 10:56Oh. That would have sucked if I
- 10:58didn't get the food. Jen, you're the car right before
- 11:01the window. I would have.
- 11:02I would have parked and went inside of course.
- 11:04Yeah, sorry, don't care about the 'cause you guys, you guys
- 11:09are cancelled to. Me, whoever did that.
- 11:13OK, so Austin Powers, obviously very formative to you.
- 11:16Did you ever watch like the old James Bond movies that this is
- 11:21like making fun of? Knew about them.
- 11:23Yeah. Cool.
- 11:23So yeah, I'd watch James Bond and stuff and I kind of, I like
- 11:27got it and it was yeah. It was just one of those movies
- 11:31where every time I watched it, like my comedy, it went up.
- 11:38My, my, my, just the comprehension of comedy, like
- 11:41went totally, Oh, that's funny because of that.
- 11:44That's funny you. Know yeah, totally.
- 11:45It is like, one thing I love about Austin Powers is that like
- 11:48it's a very joke dense movie. I love joke dense movies.
- 11:52There it's like joke after joke after joke.
- 11:54You don't have to wait for the next thing.
- 11:56Like honestly, there's no there They don't even take time to
- 11:59like let it sit. It's just like another joke,
- 12:02another joke. And I kind of like that.
- 12:03I like, I like feeling like I could just laugh the whole time,
- 12:06especially when it's like an 85 minute movie.
- 12:08You know what I mean? And it's a certain like, yeah,
- 12:11it's just like back to the spice rack.
- 12:12It's kind of like, you know, it's like at the Naked Gun.
- 12:17Zucker brothers feel too. And I love, I love jokes in
- 12:21movies, you know, me too, which, you know, I'm thinking about
- 12:24that now. Like there's no comedies like
- 12:25that anymore. There's no, there's really no
- 12:27comedies if for kids anymore, like teens, you know?
- 12:34Yeah, I haven't seen a comedy movie like in a long time.
- 12:37It's like a just funny, silly ass movie.
- 12:40Totally. Something that's like raunchy,
- 12:41but it's on the line. Yeah, you know, like this, I
- 12:45mean there's. How it affects the new
- 12:46generation? I know they just.
- 12:49I'll tell you what, they're probably not funny.
- 12:50Yeah, they're. Not funny.
- 12:53They're not funny. They're not making jokes about
- 12:55poo and pee and boobs and butts. Exactly.
- 12:58What is life without jokes about poo and pee and boobs and butts?
- 13:01Exactly. Great pee scene in Austin
- 13:03Powers. So funny, I was literally
- 13:05thinking about that this morning when I let my dog out.
- 13:07Oh, it was so cold. And I was ready for, I was ready
- 13:10for him, you know, wrap it up and he's peeing and he's almost
- 13:13done. And then he starts peeing again.
- 13:16And I was like, it's like he watched that movie with me last
- 13:19night. So, so stupid.
- 13:22And I giggled to myself because that's what happens when you
- 13:24have like a really, when you have a really joke dense movie,
- 13:29You remember all of the like, you remember all of those, like,
- 13:33punchline hits, right? I mean, that's why it's, like,
- 13:36so quotable. Yeah.
- 13:37But, and I could see, like, them making that movie too, just
- 13:40those little things that like, Oh my God, this would be funny
- 13:43if you did this. Yeah, totally.
- 13:44His leg twitching like a dog. You know when he's big.
- 13:48Yeah, totally. You can tell that there was like
- 13:50moments where they're like, OK, like it was very, I don't know,
- 13:53I'm guessing that there was that there was like a writer's room
- 13:59feel in the creation of this. I have no idea if that's true,
- 14:01but it feels like there's somebody who's like, OK, how can
- 14:04we punch this up? Like, how can we, like, take
- 14:06this to the next level? You know what I mean?
- 14:09When I first saw Austin Powers, I had no idea that it was a
- 14:13spoof on like James Bond and spy movies.
- 14:17Had never seen them before, so I thought it was just stupid.
- 14:20I was like, it's kind of funny, but I don't get it.
- 14:26I was just like, OK, so who's this guy?
- 14:29What's his deal? Like, I didn't understand that
- 14:32it was based on this like satire, you know what I mean?
- 14:37So it was just like taking. It at big.
- 14:39Value I was like. It's a weird character.
- 14:43I mean, I was like 10 when I saw this.
- 14:45It was like one of the one of those like PG13 movies that like
- 14:51I probably, I mean I was a second child like I'm the baby
- 14:55of the family so I pretty much could watch whatever I wanted.
- 14:58My sister like she had to wait till she was 13 to watch PG13
- 15:01movies. She had like my, my parents were
- 15:04like way more involved in like whatever she was doing to not
- 15:07get her in trouble. But for me they were like, all
- 15:09right, whatever, like do whatever you want.
- 15:11So I watched a lot of not like crazy raunchy movies when I was
- 15:16a kid, but like I definitely I definitely saw like a good share
- 15:22of PG13 movies when I was like like 8 to 12 in that in that era
- 15:27when like stupid humor is geared exactly for and I just like
- 15:36didn't, I didn't get it. I didn't have any of the
- 15:39context. I thought it was kind of funny,
- 15:41but I was just like, I don't know.
- 15:44And I didn't understand like the stuff with Seth the son.
- 15:48I was like, I don't understand what this is because I, because
- 15:51I didn't understand what, I didn't understand what
- 15:53cryogenics were, you know, it was just like I was a dumb 8
- 15:57year old. See, I might have been a little
- 16:00bit older because I, I do remember I, I would get things,
- 16:03but I would get more each time I watched it.
- 16:05Totally, Yeah. Like, you ever go back and see a
- 16:08movie when you're a kid and you watch it now and you're like,
- 16:10oh, I totally did not know what was going on.
- 16:12Exactly. That's thing now because like I
- 16:15used to drink a lot. I don't watch movies, just
- 16:18totally shit faced and I'd go back and watch him again sober.
- 16:21I'm like, I did what? This is crazy.
- 16:23A pretty good movie, you know. I do that all the time where
- 16:27there's like movies that I had watched when I was drinking that
- 16:31I like truly don't remember. I'm like, I know I've seen this,
- 16:34but it's as though I've I'm watching this for the very first
- 16:37time. Like no not no memory.
- 16:40Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 16:41So Schindler, he was the good guy.
- 16:44Yeah, it. Kind of didn't, really.
- 16:47Yeah, I was drunk in there. He gets drunk during Schindler's
- 16:50List. A bad guy.
- 16:53Famous comedy Schindler's. List.
- 16:55Yeah. Totally.
- 16:56You're like, I thought that one was kind of funny.
- 16:57Drinking. What is it?
- 16:59What is it? Black and white?
- 17:00What's going on? Is my TV messed up?
- 17:03Yeah, exactly. That was kind of, I mean, so
- 17:07basically watching a movie as an 8 year old is a very similar
- 17:11experience as watching it as a drunk adult.
- 17:13Because I was like, I don't really get what's going on.
- 17:16I can't really pay attention. There are some things that are
- 17:20funny, but I didn't really, I didn't really get it.
- 17:23I didn't even really understand like what sex was.
- 17:25And that's like quite foundational to the whole thing
- 17:28of like, him being a sex symbol. Yeah, but I do remember running
- 17:32around the house 'cause I didn't really know either, but I was
- 17:33gonna, Oh my God, this unlocked a memory.
- 17:36I would run around my house being like, do I make you horny?
- 17:40Am I hot or like telling my mom and shit?
- 17:43My God, do I make you horny, baby?
- 17:47Like what? It was this little kid running
- 17:49around. Shall we shag now and shag
- 17:53later? You can't see that.
- 17:56Tiny little Dustin runner. Oh my God, did your parents kind
- 18:02of let you watch Whatever? Hell no.
- 18:04Oh my God, really? Luckily my mom was going through
- 18:07a divorce so you kind of get. Thank God you really got a good
- 18:10that period of time when your parent like when when a parent's
- 18:13going through a divorce. Oh holds the media that you can
- 18:17consume, the drugs you can try for.
- 18:20The first time I mean. God, there's so much.
- 18:23'Cause they're doing the same thing.
- 18:25Yeah, exactly. She's like.
- 18:27She's like, I just want to laugh again.
- 18:29Yeah, yeah. Oh man, I love it.
- 18:33So this, this movie was obviously very well received,
- 18:41like it was, it was a box office success, like critically pretty
- 18:46well received, obviously spawned 2 more movies, which, OK, let me
- 18:50ask you, which of the three Austin Powers movies is your
- 18:53favorite? That guy would say the first
- 18:57one. Yeah, yeah, first one.
- 19:02Then I'm trying to think of two or three.
- 19:05I got to rewatch 2 and 3. Yeah, the three is the one with
- 19:08Beyoncé in it. So that that for me, for me, it
- 19:11goes 132 I think. But I mean, they're all, they're
- 19:15all pretty good. Yeah, I mean, none of them are
- 19:17Empire Strikes Back, but that's really.
- 19:20Yeah, none of them are really. Yeah, they're not changing the
- 19:23narrative, but not they're not doing anything really
- 19:27revolutionary, like it's just a classic comedy.
- 19:31He's goofy. Yeah, I could go for another
- 19:33Austin Powers movie, you know? Me too.
- 19:36Now more than ever. We love Mike Myers.
- 19:39Me too. Come on, let's get him.
- 19:41Let's get him in front of the camera.
- 19:43He's got to get just let him be a character.
- 19:46Go on, let's go. OK, something that I think is so
- 19:51funny as I rewatch this in 2026 is that like the idea of like,
- 19:57free love ENM, it's not new. The whole like, you know, like,
- 20:05you know, sleep with whoever you want, everyone.
- 20:09I don't know, like, yeah, the whole free love thing.
- 20:12I think that kids today forget. That in the 60s they did that
- 20:16first. They did, yeah.
- 20:18It's not new. It's not new.
- 20:19No swinging, not new. Yeah, all.
- 20:22And you know every. Wild back then, yeah.
- 20:24Insane. And they were, as we saw, no
- 20:27condoms. Yeah, I think he says a line
- 20:31about. That yeah, he's like, she's
- 20:33like, did you use protection? He's like, well I had my 9mm
- 20:36like. I loved it like that.
- 20:40Oh my. God it Do you think?
- 20:42OK, one thing that is like a little bit creepy about Austin
- 20:47Powers is the fact that like the what's her name?
- 20:52I'm sorry to I'm sorry to all the people who like are die hard
- 20:56fans of this movie because I often forget the names of the
- 20:59characters. Vanessa Kensington.
- 21:01Vanessa. Kensington play by Elizabeth
- 21:03Hurley. Exactly.
- 21:04So I think it is a little bit creepy, kind of a lot creepy,
- 21:08that in the movie, Vanessa Kensington's mom was in love
- 21:15with Austin Powers, and now her daughter is married to him.
- 21:21Yeah, that's disgusting. That to me is horrific because
- 21:27like the whole premise is like, but.
- 21:29It's so it's so funny with the movie though.
- 21:32She's like. He's so irresistible, you know
- 21:35what I'm saying with his. Fucking teeth.
- 21:37Yeah, that was. He's this irresistible.
- 21:43Dude, yeah, and his in his, his chest hair, the whole thing.
- 21:48It's like all of the costumes and gags are also so sketch
- 21:51comedy like. They're not, they're not
- 21:55designed to look realistic. It's designed to look like a guy
- 21:59with a silly tooth mouthpiece in and Velcro chest hair.
- 22:05Like, nobody, nobody in the costume design department is
- 22:10like when winning an Oscar, Like they're purposefully just like,
- 22:13we grabbed this out of the prop bin or whatever.
- 22:18But But yeah, I did think that it was unnecessarily creepy that
- 22:25Vanessa Kensington did marry and shag her mom's original love.
- 22:33Yes, but at least they never had sex.
- 22:36Oh yeah, the. Mom.
- 22:37The mom, Yeah. Yeah, but you know, I mean,
- 22:41spoiler alert, she turns out to be a fimbot in number two.
- 22:44Such a. Bummer, I know.
- 22:46So it's like the. Fimbots.
- 22:49Can we talk about the Fimbots? Let's.
- 22:50Talk about them. Oh my God, Fimbots.
- 22:52They're like is a, is a kid, you know?
- 22:55Oh. My God.
- 22:56Is a is a male dude, he's like, wow, wow you.
- 23:01Said can do that. Yeah, holy shit.
- 23:04Yeah. Not only did it unlock comedy
- 23:06and unlocked a few other things, Elizabeth, her early the fin
- 23:11bots, I was like, wow, yeah, that.
- 23:15Was now that I take it back, that was revolutionary.
- 23:19That was revolutionary. That really did something for a
- 23:22lot of little kids across. It's definitely, yeah, yeah.
- 23:28It's definitely one of those like, Oh yeah.
- 23:30Oh, I'm definitely straight. You know, this is.
- 23:33Yeah, yeah. My little brother's not but I'm
- 23:36but he liked Austin Powers too. But we both loved.
- 23:41We both loved awesome. He might have been into Austin.
- 23:43I was just going to say he's irresistible.
- 23:45He is irresistible. Behave.
- 23:47Yeah, we're both looking at different things the whole
- 23:49movie. You know, honestly, I think that
- 23:53I have kind of a thing for Seth Green.
- 23:56Seth Green I. Do I do I'm I'm not afraid to
- 23:59see it. That's funny.
- 24:00I think he's like. He's such a like, I mean, I
- 24:04think that like him and like what's his what's his name from
- 24:11Scream and. SLC.
- 24:14Punk. No.
- 24:15It's Matt something. Anyway, yeah, I know who you're
- 24:19tired. About like those guys who are
- 24:21like. Jaggy and Scooby-doo, yeah.
- 24:22Exactly. Exactly.
- 24:23Those dudes are cool. I kind of like yeah, yeah, I
- 24:26remember. Can't hardly wait.
- 24:27I saw. I love that baby, Oh my God.
- 24:29With him with like the fucking goggles.
- 24:33Yeah, that's one of my favorite teen movies is Can't Hardly
- 24:36wait. I love that.
- 24:37Movie. There was some good teen movies
- 24:39back then too. Oh my God, I miss teen movies.
- 24:41Even though, OK, Austin Powers is not.
- 24:44It's not a teen movie. It was a movie made for young,
- 24:49dumb, funny people. Yeah, or people who were kind of
- 24:52discovering. It's kind of like a teen, you
- 24:54know, it's, it's a different, like you would watch those same
- 24:57movies, you know? Right, exactly.
- 24:59People who watch can't hardly wait.
- 25:00Probably watched Yeah, awesome powers.
- 25:02Totally, yeah, 'cause it's just like, it's a incredibly simple
- 25:08plot, no room for, like, interpretation, you know, it's
- 25:12truly just like face value. Well, I mean, I guess this one
- 25:16is a satire. So there's like specific things
- 25:18that they're calling out that kids may or may not know.
- 25:21But like, overall, it's like a story of like good versus evil.
- 25:28Yeah. Jokes.
- 25:31Yeah, that's. It this goofy things, Yeah.
- 25:33Physical comedy happening, Totally.
- 25:35The whole yeah, the whole dance in front of the Finbots was
- 25:39like, hilarious. Oh my God.
- 25:41With his little, with his little British flag, yeah.
- 25:45That was the biggest. Oh my God.
- 25:48Yeah. When he ripped off the pants, he
- 25:50saw the British flag underwear. With his little, with he does
- 25:55his little thing with his hip where he's like.
- 25:57Yeah, can't handle. Can't.
- 26:00Handle it. They all explode.
- 26:03It's. In that's like my one.
- 26:05OK, so one of my favorite things to do is I'll, I'll talk with my
- 26:08friend, 'cause we both love those joke dense movies.
- 26:11Yeah, and we'll just be like, OK, let's try the Leslie Nelson
- 26:14movie. So we'll just do like, OK, The
- 26:18the last one we did was like, OK, Leslie Nelson on a
- 26:21submarine. Oh my God.
- 26:22It's like you're gonna already picture that scene where
- 26:27everyone's like quiet and everything like hang on, turn
- 26:30down. Hey, stop making that noise
- 26:31Suddenly, like you see the guys playing ping pong, trying to
- 26:34stop playing ping pong. Stop doing the ASMR.
- 26:42They're just yeah, I love. Like I love those stupid goofy
- 26:46boots. I love.
- 26:46It's so, it's so fun. And isn't that why we're here?
- 26:50To have fun? Yeah, but those fin bots when
- 26:53they're exploding? That's probably that's probably
- 26:56my favorite part of the movie is the fembots exploding.
- 27:01Yeah, and then they got the song behind it too.
- 27:04I touch myself. Just the ultimate, like
- 27:07everything's happening. Your mind is blown.
- 27:10What? I was watching it.
- 27:11I was watching him with my with my boyfriend last night.
- 27:14He pulls out his phone. He's like, who sings that song
- 27:17again? I was like, I don't know.
- 27:19He like looks it up on Spotify, says ADD bad.
- 27:22Yeah to. He was like, I love that song.
- 27:24Who was it? I can't remember the name of the
- 27:26artist, but he was like a good song.
- 27:28He heard that song and he was like, man, I love that song.
- 27:32Yeah. Yeah, so stupid now my my song
- 27:35in that movie was was it bossa Nova?
- 27:37The theme to the. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:41Yeah, and that for me. OK, this is and This is why I
- 27:45chose awesome powers. OK, Oh my God.
- 27:47So everyone get ready. Yeah, when I was in school, you
- 27:50know, mom was going through a lot was happening.
- 27:54I was moving from school to school to school, could never
- 27:57make friends. I was just a nerdy kid.
- 28:00I I didn't really know myself at all.
- 28:02I I was very lonely and I had signed up for dance class 'cause
- 28:08I wanted to perform and I'm like and it's.
- 28:10So sweet. You also had to do you had to do
- 28:13a a a physical like PE credit and I chose dance I.
- 28:17Chose dance. Yeah, I'd like to dance.
- 28:19But it was like me, two other dudes, One was this Puerto Rican
- 28:23dude there was very suave, just trying to get laid.
- 28:26Like, that's why he took the class.
- 28:28The other dude was this. Yeah, The other dude was this
- 28:30gay kid who was like, really like, into it and stuff.
- 28:33And I was just this like fat nerdy kid and.
- 28:37Fat nerdy kid with no other options.
- 28:39Yeah, yeah. You know, And I at the end of
- 28:42the year, though, they had this thing where you choose a dance
- 28:44to do and you know, it's in, it was this huge thing in front of
- 28:49like this auditorium, really the whole high school was.
- 28:52Oh my God. And it was like.
- 28:54Insane. But I chose the Austin Powers.
- 28:57I made an Austin Powers dance shut up.
- 29:00And you had to do like dance moves so that you learned in
- 29:02class. You had to incorporate like a
- 29:04step ball change and a pot, a Boo ray.
- 29:07Oh. My God, that's.
- 29:08Amazing. Yeah.
- 29:09So I did that and when I came out on stage, I had the whole
- 29:13awesome powers get up on and I that was people heard the song
- 29:18and then they saw me come out and they're like, and the kids
- 29:22lost their shit. And that was the first time I
- 29:26was like, what? A star is born.
- 29:29But that was my star is born moment.
- 29:31I swear to God, that was like it destroyed.
- 29:35And then they were like, Oh my God, they were losing their
- 29:38shit. And like the next day I was like
- 29:40the most popular kid at school. It was like incredible.
- 29:43It was so that was my moment. That was like best moment I
- 29:47think I've ever had in my life. And you've been chasing that
- 29:49high ever since. Pretty much it beats The Tonight
- 29:51Show beats like everything I've ever done.
- 29:54I if I could, I'm just trying to recapture that Austin Powers
- 29:57moment. That honestly, I'm I'm picking
- 30:00my jaw up off the floor. That's incredible.
- 30:03I like. It was a game change because it
- 30:05like I was so I was it is that I was so sad and such a miserable
- 30:09kid and just everything in life I hated.
- 30:12And then that when I first like that moment of getting like
- 30:16laughs and getting people like into it and like just like it
- 30:19was just, it was. And yeah.
- 30:21And then I started getting into theater and then I started like
- 30:23doing it. It was just, it was really cool.
- 30:25You know, I started doing stand up.
- 30:26That is incredible. So that's why I love Mike Myers,
- 30:30love Austin Powers. Totally changed the game for me.
- 30:33That's amazing. It's so sweet.
- 30:35My heart is so my God bring a tear to my eye, Dustin.
- 30:40I get you. When I think about, I'm like, Oh
- 30:42yeah, you. Know Mike Myers, Thank you.
- 30:45Yeah, Have I ever seen Mike Myers?
- 30:46I'm like him. Say you're the reason and it's
- 30:49not. And it's not just because I
- 30:50watched this movie. No, it's because in front of an
- 30:53entire high school, people who had no idea who I.
- 30:55Was no, it was insane. So every time I hear that, I'm
- 31:00like, coming from the backstage. You're back.
- 31:03Oh my. God, the moment your life
- 31:04changed, God, that is so that that is truly like.
- 31:09I say this with full earnestness, like one of the
- 31:12sweetest stories I've ever heard on this podcast.
- 31:14That is so that is so fun. Yeah, it was like, really?
- 31:18That's what it's all about. Is that is a good time?
- 31:21Hell yeah. That's awesome.
- 31:22Did you, do you like doing like impressions?
- 31:26Like did that become like a thing like you doing impressions
- 31:29of celebrities or was it more like you?
- 31:31You were like, oh, I like playing it a character.
- 31:34I, I don't know, I kind of, I didn't really do characters.
- 31:38Stand up really changed things for me because stand up got me
- 31:41more into just stand up, you know, And then it became a thing
- 31:45of like I, I guess there's in comedy, you can do a few
- 31:50different routes, but you know, some people go to the
- 31:52Groundlings and the UCB and the improv.
- 31:55But for me, stand up with something where you could do it
- 31:59almost every night and you do it yourself.
- 32:02You don't have to depend on other people.
- 32:05It's just you and the microphone.
- 32:06But I mean, I loved I, I could have went either route because I
- 32:10love characters and I'll try to incorporate them sometimes like,
- 32:14but I never really do big impressions on stage.
- 32:16I'll do like, do you like a Jack Black really quick?
- 32:20Oh yeah. Or like.
- 32:21I mean, look at you. Yeah, I've been trying to do the
- 32:22Jason Momoa lately. I love that, Jason.
- 32:26What's up, dudes? Yeah, man, Just yeah.
- 32:32I believed it. I feel like I was watching Dune
- 32:33right now, yeah. And the JD Vance meme, that's
- 32:39some people. Someone sent me that.
- 32:41They're like, you look like the JD Vance meme.
- 32:43I'm like what? Someone messed around with that.
- 32:47Wow, love. That, But yeah, it's, I've never
- 32:50really been great at impressions.
- 32:53Every I've I've, I came really close to like, you know, that
- 32:58Saturday Night Live movie they did.
- 33:00I came really close to getting the John Belushi part.
- 33:03Really. Yeah, and that was, I felt like
- 33:06I could have got it too, but I kind of you should have.
- 33:09And you? Should have in my opinion.
- 33:11I think I tried to be too much like the video that they sent me
- 33:15where he was like clean shaven and I should have just went
- 33:17because the guy they hired had in my hair and like I I could I
- 33:22should have played my version of Belushi rather than reaching for
- 33:26it like bring it closer to me. Like being yourself.
- 33:30Yeah, that was a bummer. I was like, and what's crazy is
- 33:34I went to this high school where like this other actress, this
- 33:37actress who is like, she was a grade below me.
- 33:41Her name is Kim Mutula. But she ended up like blowing
- 33:44up. And she was in that movie, too.
- 33:45Yeah. Which is crazy because we both
- 33:47came from this like small Texas town.
- 33:49Wow, that's so weird. Yeah, it was weird.
- 33:52I know. Yeah, yeah, she's super cool.
- 33:55Yeah, man, that dance and theatre program, really, They
- 33:57really churn them out, don't they?
- 33:59High. School, Yeah, shout out.
- 34:01Theatre program. That's Pringle.
- 34:03Yeah, hell yeah. Miss Pringle, shout out Friend
- 34:05of the Pod. I loved seeing the the cameos in
- 34:13this. Like, I don't know if they were
- 34:15considered cameos of the time, but I was like, Oh yeah, this
- 34:17person's in that movie. This person's in that movie.
- 34:19Like when Will Ferrell is when he's in the chair and he's
- 34:24talking about how he's been badly burned.
- 34:25Oh my. God, I'm still alive.
- 34:27I'm still alive, but I'm badly burned.
- 34:30Yeah, so. Stupid that that part is fun to
- 34:35me another I'm just looking at my notes here of like things
- 34:37that I wrote down you. I really liked the, the part
- 34:44when Austin Powers, you know, he is, he may be, you know, a
- 34:50little outdated when it comes to talking to women.
- 34:53He's, you know, he's still thinks that it's time for free
- 34:56love and that he can shag whoever he wants.
- 34:59But when Elizabeth Hurley's character is drunk and comes on
- 35:03to him for the first time, he says you're drunk.
- 35:06No, no, this is not how it goes down.
- 35:08Very gentleman. I said OK, so maybe he is a
- 35:11gentleman, you know, maybe I did believe her mom when she said he
- 35:14was a real, you know. Yeah, and that was, that's what
- 35:17was cool about him. You know, he was like this cool.
- 35:20And you could see the writers, when they're writing that,
- 35:22they're like, oh, this is a good moment to show that he's like,
- 35:24not a piece of shit. Exactly.
- 35:25Yeah, He's not trying to. He's not trying to take
- 35:28advantage of women. Like, even though you know, in a
- 35:31modern context, watching him like get introduced to a
- 35:34colleague and immediately say, are we going to shag now?
- 35:37Or shag later. You think, OK, so that doesn't
- 35:39age very well, but it's like they're making fun of this James
- 35:46Bond type of guy who truly is like that type of character is
- 35:49like, I will sleep with whoever I want to because everybody
- 35:54wants me. And he Austin Powers is truly
- 35:58like, he's not trying to exploit anybody.
- 36:01He's just like he's used to living in a world comes.
- 36:04From the 60s, yes, psychedelics. And where women are chasing him
- 36:08down the street and he eventually is leading a parade
- 36:11in a choreographed. Dance number.
- 36:13You know what I mean? Like at any moment, he's like,
- 36:17at any moment I could be the leader of a parade.
- 36:20And so of course everyone wants to sleep with me.
- 36:23But he's not trying to like, you know, he's not like a womanizer.
- 36:26You know what? I.
- 36:27Mean he is a womanizer like he is a bit of a womanizer.
- 36:31OK, OK, a little bit, a little. Bit but yeah, he just goes for
- 36:36women who are down. Yeah, I think he, like, he what
- 36:40I'm trying to say is like, I think he actually does respect
- 36:43women. And people might come for me for
- 36:46that and say, you know, they're going to rehash all the
- 36:48different times where he says stuff that's totally
- 36:51inappropriate. But I really do think, I don't
- 36:54know, maybe I fell for the charm.
- 36:55Maybe it's, you know, maybe he's charmed me.
- 36:58But I really think that he's, he's like, you know.
- 37:01I hope no one comes after you for Austin Powers.
- 37:04That would be so fun. After all of the dumb shit I've
- 37:06said on this microphone. If that's the thing that really
- 37:09gets me, if that's what gets me cancelled, then you know what?
- 37:12Austin. Powers if that's if that's what
- 37:14gets me cancelled, then go ahead, go ahead everybody.
- 37:19One thing that I think maybe it's hard to tell if it's making
- 37:24fun of those old movies and how they portrayed like people from
- 37:29different nationalities or if this is just like a product of
- 37:32the 90s. But when they go into like the
- 37:34United Nations. Yeah.
- 37:38It's just like literally every country stereotype they have
- 37:41like a bullfighter and like a guy, like everything part of me
- 37:48thinks like it's so over the top that it's like making fun of the
- 37:53types of films where like there's an an international
- 37:56meeting and they have to make every character like a
- 37:59caricature of that country. A part of me is also like, well,
- 38:04I don't, I don't know. It's hard to tell.
- 38:06The intention behind it doesn't even matter.
- 38:09Well, I think they were making fun of that because, like, those
- 38:12James Bond movies back in the day, they were very like, yeah,
- 38:15using the most stereotypical, like, it was, Oh my God, yeah.
- 38:19You ever see Live and Let Die? Oh yeah, yeah.
- 38:22Now that I you know in new. Orleans.
- 38:23God, OH. My God, Oh my God.
- 38:26Yeah, it was, Yeah. I think they were making fun of
- 38:29that, especially like the Will Ferrell character is like, Oh my
- 38:31God. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:33With his and then like when they go into put their disguises on
- 38:38after like or they go, they go and they like steal the outfits
- 38:43from the people at the at the corporation.
- 38:46And it's like he goes in and takes this guy with like
- 38:50traditional like Indian garb. You don't like that kind of
- 38:55stuff. Oh, my God.
- 38:59I think that it's just like seeing it now feels like, whoa,
- 39:02you know, like it it, it like catches you off guard a little
- 39:06bit, at least for me, because I'm like, well, I feel like I
- 39:09don't really do that too much in 2026.
- 39:12So when you see it, it's kind of like, oh, whoa.
- 39:15It's a little whoa. But that's, I think, I think
- 39:18you're right. It's like, because it's so
- 39:20exaggerated, I think that we are to believe that it's like, you
- 39:25know, they're not, they're not really trying to portray
- 39:28stereotypes and like offend people.
- 39:30They're not like, oh, we're edge Lords.
- 39:31We're really going to like shake it up by showing.
- 39:34Yeah, and back then it wasn't edge Lords, it wasn't like.
- 39:37And that irritates the fuck out of me in comedy.
- 39:39And Oh my God. There's people who just want to
- 39:42straight up be edgy and I'm like, you will, you will find an
- 39:50audience doing that you. Know.
- 39:53But then it's like, OK, So what the dude who's going to say this
- 39:57on stage and, you know, this slur, whatever.
- 40:00And then it's like, all right, where's the jokes then, you
- 40:02know, is that going to be your gimmick the whole time?
- 40:04Like, yeah, there's a comic. Oh my God, he's so great.
- 40:07He's white dude. He says N word.
- 40:08It's freaking. It's revolution.
- 40:10Yeah. Oh my God, He doesn't give a
- 40:11fuck, man. Totally.
- 40:13Like it's like, oh, OK, you know, I guess that's your.
- 40:16Yeah, I guess that's your thing then.
- 40:18Those are also like, I feel like it's, it's like two sides of the
- 40:22same coin. The types of comics that are
- 40:23like, OK, my comedy is going to change the world.
- 40:26It's like those people are doing it, but in like the worst way.
- 40:29They're like, my comedy is going to change the world because
- 40:32people are going to realize white guys can't say the N word
- 40:34You. Know what I mean?
- 40:36Yeah. Or they're like, I'm so anti
- 40:39censorship that I, you know, I can say whatever I want because
- 40:42it's a free country, you know what I mean?
- 40:44Yeah, it's very strange. It's like a It's a weird time.
- 40:48And then also like if you're that type of edgelord comic,
- 40:51like you have to keep upping yourself, you know, like you can
- 40:56oh, sorry, it's like you can never just tell the same like
- 41:01level of jokes. Like you're going to have to
- 41:03like make it more and more offensive to continue to like,
- 41:07get likes and get engagement, you know?
- 41:10Yeah, 'cause at a certain point you're kind of like, OK, what
- 41:13else? What's how else can I be like,
- 41:17what's the next offense? I think we've pushed it so far.
- 41:20I think we've hit the edge. Yeah, You know what I'm saying?
- 41:23There's no. I think we know where the.
- 41:25Edge is, yeah. There's no edge anymore, I don't
- 41:27think, you know, there's in, you know, the people like that.
- 41:30They'll always find an audience, though, Yeah.
- 41:32And good for them, you know? But it's just like, yeah, it's
- 41:37just, it's never been my thing. And I try not to be super
- 41:40critical of comedy because I believe in the whole freedom of
- 41:44it. Do you think you know it's just
- 41:47not my thing? Yeah, totally.
- 41:49Like it's got to be. The thing about comedy is that
- 41:51it's got to be funny. Sorry, sorry.
- 41:54It can't just be like outlandish and be like, oh, I can't believe
- 41:57that someone said that. It's like, I can't believe that
- 42:00someone said that and I can't believe I'm laughing at it.
- 42:02You know, if it's going to be edgy, if it's going to be
- 42:06raunchy, if it's going to be, I mean, here's The thing is that
- 42:08like, obviously I don't, I don't want comics to be edge Lords for
- 42:15the sake of being edge Lords. But I do like raunch.
- 42:18I like when people tell like, you know, I like when people
- 42:21tell a raunchy joke if it's funny, you know, like make me,
- 42:26make me clutch my pearls, but while I'm laughing.
- 42:29You know what I'm saying? And it's like, things have
- 42:32changed so much over such a short period of time.
- 42:36I don't know, whenever you're hanging out.
- 42:38You ever been hanging at a party and everyone's having a good
- 42:40time and there's one person that's got to be a fucking
- 42:44stick. That's why I look at that.
- 42:46I'm like, we're all having fun. There's no bad intentions here.
- 42:50I don't like this. Oh God.
- 42:53That person don't ruin the. Don't ruin this.
- 42:55Yeah, the. Vibe like Oh my God.
- 42:57There's, but I don't know, some people are I, I guess more and I
- 43:00accept those people too. You got to accept everyone.
- 43:02Yeah. And they, you know, and they
- 43:04have the right to feel that way and express that, but you know.
- 43:08Yeah, I know what you mean. There's like, there's this time
- 43:10when. OK.
- 43:11Have you ever been to, like, one of those fall festivals where
- 43:16they have, like, they have like, a silo just filled with corn
- 43:21kernels? Yeah.
- 43:23You know what I'm talking about. Yes.
- 43:24OK, so people. Die in those all the time.
- 43:27Are you serious? Silo suffocate.
- 43:30Damn scary. Oh my God.
- 43:33OK, well everyone watch out what I'm about to say.
- 43:36Don't try it at home. Lay flat.
- 43:38Yeah, Lay flat. Do not go swimming in there, but
- 43:41there is. OK.
- 43:42So I was at this little fall festival a couple years ago
- 43:45where like that's part of the attraction is like you go in and
- 43:48it's just like a place to play in the corn, I guess.
- 43:51And, and we're all having like the time of our lives, you know,
- 43:55this is so fun. It just like, it feels so nice
- 43:57to just like lay in the corn and, and my friend's boyfriend
- 44:02at the time was like, we're all like having fun and we and we
- 44:08get out of the corn and I was like, oh, did you have fun?
- 44:12And he goes, no, it just makes me really sad.
- 44:15Like all of the waste, all the food.
- 44:17Waste. And I said, don't you dare.
- 44:24We're all having this like peak, like return to childhood moment.
- 44:28We're all like, and it's like, yeah, we know it's wasteful.
- 44:32It's fucked up. People are hungry everywhere.
- 44:36And there's all this corn that literally just these grown
- 44:38adults are laying in. Apparently people are dying all
- 44:43the time. In these silos, I mean, whenever
- 44:47you look at it, it is pretty fucked up, but at the moment
- 44:50it's like, ah core. Exactly.
- 44:52And then there's the one guy that's like, well, it's really
- 44:54wasteful and you're like. We're here to do something bad.
- 44:58Shut the fuck up. Shut.
- 44:59The fuck up. We're trying to do something bad
- 45:01and fun. That is pretty funny.
- 45:06And then we went back. We went back last year, this
- 45:09time without the boyfriend. He was out of the picture.
- 45:12And I said, you guys remember when they'll say, let's say his
- 45:15name's Paul. I said, you guys remember when
- 45:17Paul tried to ruin the vibe with the corn by telling us it was
- 45:20wasteful and we were all like, yeah, glad he's gone.
- 45:23And then we went back to doing doing like snow angels in the in
- 45:27the corn. Yeah, what the fuck is he doing
- 45:29now? Did he volunteer for the Peace
- 45:31Corps or some shit? Is he feeding the world right?
- 45:34Yeah, maybe. He is.
- 45:35That'd be funny if that moved him.
- 45:37That would be he's like, this really unlocked something for
- 45:39me. So anyway, you know, sometimes
- 45:46you do just have to, like, enjoy a laugh.
- 45:49Yeah, You know, like I don't do. And it's like, yeah, just chill
- 45:53out. Also this this world has so many
- 45:55bad things in it. Exactly.
- 45:58Work from the top to the bottom bro.
- 46:00Truly like I sometimes think that these like when there's
- 46:05like an an outrage over a joke that's been like, you know, that
- 46:10took it too far. It's like I think that it
- 46:13sometimes is distracting, so like.
- 46:15Serves as a really a. Really nice convenient
- 46:18distraction for like the really bad stuff that's going on.
- 46:22That's not to say that like, you know, like obviously like Dave
- 46:25Chappelle has done like horrible things to the trans community.
- 46:28Like there's been like a lot of, there's a lot of comics who say
- 46:32shit and even if it's, you know, even if it gets some laughs,
- 46:35it's not OK to do. And also there are a lot of,
- 46:42there are a lot of things that like, I think are it's a lot
- 46:47easier to be like, I'm really mad at this one person and like,
- 46:52we need to get rid of this one, this one bad actor, this one
- 46:55person's doing something bad rather than being like, well,
- 46:59what have you done to, you know, combat white supremacy lately?
- 47:03And. Like any anyone with their
- 47:05fucking iPhone in their pocket is like, hey, come on, you know
- 47:07where that shit came from dude. Like what are, what are, what
- 47:10are we doing, you know? Yeah.
- 47:13I'm just like, you know what? We're only we're not going to be
- 47:16here for that long. Death will approach everyone in
- 47:19there. Might as well have a laugh and
- 47:20that's why Austin Powers age as well.
- 47:22To me, it could. It couldn't be made today
- 47:25because stuff like this just wouldn't be.
- 47:27I don't think it would be funded.
- 47:29I don't think that a marketing department at a studio would be
- 47:32like, let's let's really put all of our eggs in this basket of
- 47:36like this super joke dense stupid movie.
- 47:40It's kind of cool though, because it won't be.
- 47:42Times are times are changing, times are changing.
- 47:45You can take it in your own hands.
- 47:46You don't need the studios anymore.
- 47:48That's so true. Yeah, Yeah.
- 47:49You know what? I think it's going to be the
- 47:50next big thing. What?
- 47:52Micro dramas on the phone. Micro dramas.
- 47:55Yeah, yeah, it's kind of bad, but it's good.
- 47:58It's it's just changing. Life is just.
- 48:00Yeah. It's changing, you know, I think
- 48:04there will be a space for traditional movies, but I I
- 48:09think that people are going to like get on these like little
- 48:12one to three minute clips of like a 90 minute movie or
- 48:16something. Yeah, this next generation, they
- 48:18have no fucking attention span. You know, that like I thought
- 48:21that I didn't have an attention span.
- 48:23Yeah, they they're like. You're like oh they only watch 7
- 48:27seconds of this. Yeah, exactly.
- 48:29The hook. The hook.
- 48:31The hook. Yeah, I put up a video.
- 48:33Instagram was like, you need a better hook?
- 48:35We analyze this. I'm like, oh geez.
- 48:38My God Tik Tok's always getting on me about that fucking hook.
- 48:42Nice, you know. What?
- 48:44I'm sorry, this is a podcast where we talk and I'm not going
- 48:47to insert TikTok speak into everything I say.
- 48:51Imagine if I started every sentence with everyone's been
- 48:54asking me, or if I started with. You won't believe this.
- 48:59Yeah, stop doing this. Yeah, have a baby with an anvil
- 49:03over its head and a candle about to like it's about to drop.
- 49:08Then start the podcast. Yeah.
- 49:09And then you're like, and anyway, so that's about Austin
- 49:12Powers. Yeah, exactly so.
- 49:14Stupid man. Well, well, what else do we need
- 49:19to discuss about Austin Powers? I mean, God, I feel like we've,
- 49:22you know, we've gone on some tangents and that's perfectly
- 49:24fine because that's what we do here.
- 49:25But I think we captured kind of the the the essence of it that
- 49:31it's a funny ass movie. Funny ass movie.
- 49:34And it. Unlocked my comedy.
- 49:36Yeah, unlocked, unlocked your your dancing.
- 49:41Your dancing your. Dancing career.
- 49:44That's huge. And, you know, I think that,
- 49:47like, every time I watch it, I mean, I, you know, ironically,
- 49:51as I get older, I find it funnier because I've seen more
- 49:55James Bond movies. I feel like I understand, like I
- 49:58pick up on different things now than I did when I was a kid.
- 50:01Yeah. So I think that watching it last
- 50:04night, I laughed way more than I did when I saw it when I was
- 50:08like 9, you know, So in that sense, like, it holds up well
- 50:14because it just happened to be popular at a time when, like, I
- 50:19didn't really get it. And now I really do.
- 50:22And so, you know, maybe I'm So what, I'm 30 years late to the
- 50:26game. Maybe I've been cryogenically
- 50:28frozen that whole time. But like that also, I don't
- 50:32know, it just, and now I think also with all the like tech
- 50:34billionaires trying to like biohack life and all of the oh,
- 50:39God, and like the cryogenic freezing and stuff like that,
- 50:43like now it's now it just hits different in like an even more
- 50:46ridiculous way. Yeah.
- 50:48You know, I got to give it a rewatch.
- 50:50Yeah, definitely. But is there anything else that
- 50:53we need to discuss that we didn't discuss I.
- 50:55Don't know, I got to pee real quick, is that cool?
- 50:57Oh, we can just wrap up. Are you sure?
- 50:59Yeah. Totally OK everyone.
- 51:01Thank you so much for listening Dustin's he's got to go pee.
- 51:05Love you all so much. Go follow him on Instagram, see
- 51:07his shows and follow us on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, all
- 51:12of that. Dustin, thank you for being.
- 51:14Here thanks for having me. You are now dismissed to go
- 51:16potty. OK, thank you.
- 51:17I'm going to do one of those long Austin Power peas, too.
- 51:20You think it's over, but it's not.
